Speaker 1 (00:02):
Saulsbury.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Okay, let's do this Sewn Salisbury.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
To usc Troup's longtime friend Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Dan Matthew, excuse, this is the Sean Salisbury Show.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
Alan Rogers lifted out in the right center indeed back
on it as Martinez at the wall looking up to
see Atlanta. Brendan Rodgers goes deep for the second time
this year.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Four to one Astros.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
The one round ball right side two has left Rogers
sliding stuff from the seat of his pants throws the
first gotta. The Guardians will likely take a look at
that to see if they want to challenge.

Speaker 5 (00:51):
I want to play.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
Rogers too, is left sliding wound upon his backside after
he fielded it and threw to first from a sitting position.
The Guardians are gonna challenge the two two swinging a
mess struck about on the slider, and that is the ballgame.
The Houston Astros use a three run fifth inning and

(01:13):
they pick up a four to two win in Cleveland
to open this three game series. Colton Gordon a winner
as a big leaguer for the first time, as the
Astros have won ten of their last fourteen. Runners lead
off second and third, oh two again, bounce that one
and that gets away from Nayler. Pair comes Buyers, he
scores without a throw. Astros lead four to three. Milton

(01:38):
goes to third on the wild pitch two two and
that's rounded pass the first base back down the right
field line. That'll score. Milton Parades stops it first and
RBI single freestock Paraders and it's five to three Astros.
In the tenth left he set at the belt another
one two to Noel swinging a mess. Talk about on

(01:59):
this slide over the dirt. And that is the ball
game that Houston Astros scored twice at the top of
the tenth and they defeat the Cleveland Guardians five to three.
Astros have won three in a row and have taken
the first two games.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
And that is how we start this morning.

Speaker 6 (02:18):
We say away we go and good morning here on
the Sean Salisbury Show. Conveniently leaving out shown the four
to two loss to the Guardians yesterday. But the good
work was done before. So as you has heard Robert
ford At tell you two out of three over the
weekend against a playoff contending Cleveland Guardians team, you go
four and two on this road trip. Nice off day today.

(02:42):
Don't have to use the high leverage guys.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
All in all, it was a good weekend.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
Yeah, you'll always take it on a road against the
team that usually makes playoffs and they're above five hundred
and playing pretty decent baseball, and you didn't. I mean
you reached in and we had a lot of different
bodies over the weekend play from Shade to Melton to
I mean, getting into where you don't have to go
high leverage in for most of the weekend. Bodies getting fresh.
And you're in first place, so that's not a bad thing.

(03:09):
You keep winning series, you win divisions, and it gives
you a chance to continue to move on. So I'll
take it. Good series. You'd love to sweep, but you didn't.
Now they get to day off and what the White
Sox at home I believe for the next series. And
it was impressive to watch. And they've had their ups
and downs, you know, in the last ten to fifteen games,
but for the most part, some hot vats Jake Myers

(03:32):
continues to sizzle and from ber Valdez is pretty good.
So all that the stuff, all I've been gone. It's
been nice to watch from a distance, but It's great
to be back, and it's good to see the Astros
win another series. Man.

Speaker 6 (03:43):
Yeah, as they over the weekend able to help themselves
out in the standings. Yesterday though, both Texas and Seattle
able to gain a game back on you. But the
Astros two and a half games up on Seattle and
also five and a half in front of both Rangers.
And you got to throw the Angels in there too,
because the Angels are also five and a half games

(04:03):
back of you.

Speaker 5 (04:05):
Yeah, I don't know if the Angels have staying power
over the long haul. We've seen this movie before, but
actually a little more staying power at the beginning, or
you know what sixty plus games in, seventy games in
or so close sixty plus games and it's going to
be that division the whole year, man, Seattle and Texas
are going to hang around. And the Astros, so we

(04:27):
all thought was while they took some steps back, was
going to be right there. I've taken some steps back,
should I say? I mean I'm talking about on their
roster when with Bregman and Tucker gone and wondering how
they were going to fill in. But pitching will be
the key is they continue to roll through, because when
Texas is right and Seattle's right, both can compete pitching.
It's just a question of how long the Angels can

(04:47):
hang on. But it's going to make for one hell
of a division run, it sure is. And then as
you get pushed closer to that time and deadline, what's
going to happen. But overall, so far, considering all the
things that we talked about even before I left on vacation,
what's gone on with the Astros this year and in
the off season, I'd say in going through the Jordon

(05:09):
who we haven't even able to talk about that since
I've been gone, the Jordon Alvarez situation and all the
stuff that's gone on with that. This team being in
position and where they're at. How many teams in this
league can do that? Considering the number of blows they've
taken from off season to during the season, to people hurt,
and to mixing and matching with some young players and

(05:32):
relying on a bunch of them, it's been pretty impressive.

Speaker 6 (05:35):
Yeah, no doubt about is the Astros sit thirty six
and twenty nine at the moment. Just gave you how
far they are in front of the other teams. But
I mean yesterday, Sean I said it on Twitter, and
I still feel this way that was the most stress
free watch that I've had of the Astros in a while,
because I mean, you've got Brandon Walter going, which you

(05:58):
saw what he did the first time out.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
He was really good.

Speaker 6 (06:00):
He was even better this time through. And you give
jose Al two bay the day off, you d H
Jeremy paina I E. Where I'm going is that it
was pretty much a hey, if we win this, great,
If not, look we already did the good work.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
Yeah, I and I think that from our vantage point,
it's it's pretty easy to stress that meaning you know, oh, okay,
it's a throwaway game. I don't think they thought that.
And I think we're gonna we're gonna give some guys
some rest and hope that our pitching keeps us in it,
and you know, some pain you're play and you know,
get DH and rest now to be somebody will get

(06:37):
the key hit and we'll win a game. So yeah,
I know exactly what you're saying. I hope, I mean
they can't in this division because that throwaway game may
end up being the difference. And we've seen it, you know,
the last game of the season where they've had to
win in a tiebreaker, so well, that won't be their attitude,
you know, get away from Cleveland and do their thing.

(06:59):
That's kind of where appears like, if we can pull
this off, we've come in, we won the series, but
it's not worth having everybody in the lineup putting out too.
Ay in have pain and shirts up. They need a
break in a certain way. And you know what, if
you're Joe Aspota and you're that team, you have to
have your finger on the pulse of win is the
right time, So you never go in thinking, well, this

(07:19):
is a throwaway game. If we win, great, If we don't,
oh well, I think your mentality is that's why these
guys in the roster get paid to be able to
give out too. They arrest and unfortunately, you know, they
didn't get a sweep of a series. But yes, put
it this way, you ask yourself, what can you afford
more in the long haul a lost to Cleveland on
the road in a series win or another day. Now,

(07:41):
I know how I feel. I'm one of those guys
that I want to see Paine you play every day.
I went out too. Video play every day. I know
it's not feasible, but for them it's you know, you
get to a point where you just got to ask.
It's like we talk about in players, is the headache
bigger than the talent? This is was the rest bigger
than the making sure that they're all in their position
playing another game on the road. The one thing that

(08:04):
people question is why didn't you do it when you
have the day off today? But you still and I'm
with the spot and the Astros on this, you have
to have certain scheduled days off. Plus again, that's why
the other guys get paid. Man, we automatically think the
only way you're supposed to win games. If we thought
that here in Houston, you'd be in trouble last year
and a half if the only way to win games
was with the guys who started the season were in

(08:26):
the lineup. Think about pitching staffs, how many injuries, how
many things you've moved guys around to try and do it,
behether a free agency or trade and or you know,
just a roster turnover so and all the new bodies
on the team this year. So you approach it. There's
a reason why meltains getting paid why we have them
up on the rock. We expect to go win and

(08:47):
if you pull it off, great, If you don't, then
you've got the rest needed, at least for pain. He's
not running around a short stop it out too. They
get the day off so important, and I know sometimes
it's frustrating, but deserve it is.

Speaker 7 (09:00):
Well.

Speaker 6 (09:00):
Yeah, and even with the lost yesterday, you still had
a chance there in the ninth inning after a couple
of singles by Janner Diaz and Jake Myers, cam smith
sends one deep out to center field and then Jacob
Melton grounding out to end it. So still with the chance,
with the go ahead run at the plate, you almost
able to steal one yesterday. But I mean, you know,

(09:22):
talking about giving guys rest, I think it's twofold, Sean.
I mean, while you were away you had the finale
against the Pirates where the Astros finished that one up
after midnight East Coast time. Then they've got to pack up,
go to the airport, fly short flight to Cleveland. But
still you're getting in in the overnight hours, probably a
little tired on Friday. Then it's a quick turnaround on

(09:45):
Saturday for a mid afternoon game and then the getaway
day yesterday, So all of that to be said, gotta
believe that today's off day is very well timed.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
Well, no question about it. And it's amazing what a
little bit of freshness can do where they have to
be pleased with the way for the most part, the
way they're playing, and they'll be ready to go on
on Tuesday after this day. Often take care of a team,
they should take care of it home. So I was
keeping an eye, like I said, from a distance and
trying to pay attention to everything when you're not local

(10:17):
there is. I thought they did some impressive things. I
know you guys have had the conversation about fromber. I
know the conversation's going a lot deeper on some other
subjects all of us have from the whether it's closer distance,
but I've been impressed with you know, continue to watch
Jake Myers. What was he four for four on Saturday?
Or was yesterday? I'm losing my mind? When did he

(10:40):
have it? Was yesterday?

Speaker 4 (10:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (10:41):
Yeah, yesterday? There you go. Especially that's right, it's all
running together. But between Myers and the way paina in
truth when you start to look at impact on teams.
I don't know if you've had any buzz about this.
I understand bigger numbers because the home runs, But if
you start to think about value to your team and
having to move where you were in the lineup and

(11:04):
quite frankly take over a role of leadership that's been
heaped upon you and you just kind of accept it
and do your thing without having to be always loud.
But your example is a player, the way he runs,
the way he plays every day. I'm telling you his
value to this team this year is MVP value. The
way he's played. You know, we know what he's about. Defensively, Like,

(11:24):
it's not easy all of a sudden in the beginning
year to be a guy that's you know, hitting into
what five or six hole or whatever, and now you're
at the table set, you're leading off, and they're counting
on you to do everything that you do. Like I said,
I know the gaudy numbers that guys like Theo Tawani's
in the National League are going to put up, and
you start to look around, you know, then there's plenty

(11:45):
of them. But if you just talk about sheer value,
and I don't know if it's been talked about, but
the guy is playing like an MVP is supposed to play.
He's just not going to have the power numbers to
win it more than likely, but it's a long way away.
But his value this year this is as confident and
just take He's taken his game to another level, which

(12:05):
you expect. But if this is moving year for Painia,
he's done that for a lot of different reasons. So
I'm impressed with where this team's headed and considering all
the circumstances. The culture, we overuse it sometimes, but the
expectations that are placed on you when you become an
astro pretty impressive. I know every day there's gonna be
something that bothers us about it. But once again, and

(12:27):
I've said this before, and I have told you this
would be their record, and all that has happened would
have happened, I'm not sure that very many people would
have taken you know, if they gave you the numbers
on wins and losses, on wins, especially the over under
at this time of the year, and everything that happened
from Bregmant and Tucker to Jordan to what would have
happened in the pitching staff and injuries, there's no way

(12:48):
on God's reen earth, you think they're sitting in this position,
There's no way.

Speaker 6 (12:52):
Yeah, it's nice to see, that is for sure. And
you also did not have to use the high leverage
guys yesterday, which you probably weren't gonna have Josh Hater
available after throwing twenty four pitches and working back to
back days. I mean, it would have been probably pretty
iffy on Brian at Bray You So, Joe Spot, I'm
sure probably glad that he didn't have to go the

(13:12):
route for either of those guys. But you are able
to get out of this six game road trip with
a four and two record, So that's good, Like I said,
a two and a half game lead on the Mariners
before you come back home, a place you played really
well against a White Sox team who is playing better baseball,
mind you, and then also the Twins who have really
started to play some good baseball here as of late,

(13:35):
before you go out on the road for seven against
the A's and the Angels. So all that much more
to get into this morning. The number two hop aboard
on the seven to ninety listener line is seven one
three two one two five seven ninety. Once again, that's
seb one three, two, one, two, five, seven nine zero.
You mentioned yourd On Alvarez Sean Dana Brown talking about

(13:55):
him a little bit yesterday during his weekly visit with
Robert Ford on the radio broadcast. We'll have that for
you is we're just getting going here on the Sean
Salisbury Show Sports Talk at seven ninety. But first got
to tell you about my friends over at one eight
hundred car cash that is one eight hundred two two
seven at twenty two seventy four. And this is the

(14:17):
time of the year when people are looking to buy
new cars. This is when all the new models start
to come out, all the new bells and whistles on
those cars. Don't you want to go with cash in
hand to the dealership ready to buy that brand new
car for yourself. Well, a way you can do that
is dealing with the trained professionals over at one eight
hundred car cash again, that's one eight hundred two to

(14:39):
seven at twenty two seventy four.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
You got the power.

Speaker 6 (14:43):
I've told you that numerous times, and I will continue
to tell you that as long as I'm talking about
one eight hundred car cash, because you've got the trust
to know that you're dealing with trained professionals that have
been doing this for a really long time, so they
know the car business inside and out, so so they
are going to be able to help you out.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
And you've probably heard, if.

Speaker 6 (15:03):
You've been watching the news, reading the news, listening to
the news, whatever it might be, that retail ready cars
are things that dealerships are looking for like nobody's business
right now, and one eight hundred car cash can be
able to help you get set to sell your car
and also maximize the value for a said car. Once again,
that's one eight hundred car cash. That's one eight hundred

(15:25):
two two seven twenty two to seventy four. And you
never know how much your car is worth. It could
really surprise you today, So give them a call. One
eight hundred car cash that's one eight hundred two to
two seven at twenty two seventy four, and they are
online at carcash dot com.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
This is an Ingreen schling Green scanning for a three point.

Speaker 8 (15:51):
Very continues now a sports talk seven ninety huh for
your Rockets.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
Say okay, let's do this.

Speaker 9 (16:05):
Sewan Salisbury to USC Troups longtime friend Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
Dan matthewscuse this is the Sewn Salsbury Show.

Speaker 6 (16:20):
For all things we talked about with the Astros. In
the first segment, we did not mention the news that
came down yesterday in order for Brandon Walter to make
the start, the Astros have finally decided to cut ties
with Forrest Whitley. It was injury riddled, it was patience,
it was a lot of different things. In the last
few addings that we'd seen out of Forrest Whitley, it

(16:41):
kind of became pretty evident that this was just not
going to work out when it's all said and done.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
Hate see it, but you.

Speaker 6 (16:48):
Also wish him well as he is more than likely
going to catch on with somebody else.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
Yeah, that big py word, the potential word, will continue
to hover around him. It's a bummer. When I saw that,
I was like, man all the time, all the investment,
all the effort by him and by the team to
try and make it work, get through injuries, through bigger
through not quite as big on his body, through the

(17:14):
mental struggles of you know, getting through just changes and
having to deal with injuries and come out of it.
And we saw flashes that said, Okay, maybe he's going
to be a guy in the bullpen, and it just
it hasn't. And I'm convinced that sometimes it's just time
for a change, not just for the team but for him.
I mean, I think they've exhausted all their all. Right,

(17:35):
what is his contribution going to be and what is
the upside, which there'll always be some That's why somebody
else is going to pick him up. They're going to say,
you know what if he is back just to change.
But I also think that sometimes you gets stalled. I've
seen it in all kinds of careers. You see it. Hell,
it goes down to even race car drivers that just
have a different owner, to baseball players, to football players

(17:57):
that didn't get Geno Smith's of the world. There were
journeyman got a chance and bam they're starting quarterbacks making
big money. Happens. It happens. And I don't know what's
going to happen with Forrest at least health, or if
he's ever going to be that guy, or if he's
ever going to be a guy that starts or bullpen.
But I know this, sometimes when you shift teams or
shift jobs or whatever it is in your life, it

(18:20):
works out. If he can stay healthy. There's potential there
somebody will give him a run, But I don't know
how much more you could ask the ask thos to exhaust,
especially with the needs that they have, and you know,
they have to make moves. And it happened. It was
a bummer to see because almost like he's been here
fifteen years. I know it hasn't been that long, but
it feels like it with the grind, and you do.

(18:41):
I wish him well some of those things. You know,
it didn't work out for him, but injuries are sometimes,
you know, things you cannot control, and it just didn't.
It just didn't work here for him, for a guy
who was highly regarded. And I hope it works out
somewhere else. But after all this time, they finally decided
to move on, and it's probably a wise move and
he should probably embrace it. Sometimes change is good, and

(19:01):
I think in this case it will be. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:03):
I mean, and to your point that you brought up about,
it seemed like he was here for fifteen years. And
I remember, I can't remember if it was Gordy or
if it was matt Ross that caught up with them
at spring training. He threw out of somebody that gave
him good advice in spring training, Garrett Cole. And as
soon as I heard that, I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait, dude,
I mean, it's just that just goes to show you
how many different incarnations there been of this astro's run

(19:26):
where I mean again, it does feel like that was
about fifteen years ago that Garrett Cole's in an astros Uni.

Speaker 5 (19:32):
Well, what you can never do is get on him
for not grinding and staying tough enough to listen there.
I would imagine there's times throughout all this that he's
probably questioned, this is just my opinion, like, dude, do
I want to keep doing this? I'm sure? I am sure.
Along the way, who hasn't well even I mean, when

(19:53):
something like that happens one time an injury, like man,
I want to keep doing this, Or then the next injury,
you're like, man, it's not the Endian, it's still grind
to get ba and say again and again. And he said,
there's just been so many things that have gone on
with him, and I would imagine he has he has
thought that, but you cannot, you know, his grind and

(20:13):
trying to get through it. He's put time in. There's
no doubt in the Astros you can't get on there.
You know, sometimes we'll quit, you know, teams will quit,
our organizations in any sport. We'll quit too quickly on
somebody and we'll say it is time to move on.
He's a bust the year and the Bryce well, the
Bryce Young's in the world football. Yeah, you know, if
you get you after his rookie year, like man, we'll
get this guy. He's a bust. He's turned it into

(20:35):
a player, and he's well coached, and he may end
up being the Bryce Young we saw he say, damn,
he's really improved. It happens, but they've they've invested a
lot of time and effort into getting him right and
ready and so on both accounts. It just didn't work
for whatever reason. And maybe you know the Astros obviously
they they developed players as well as anybody. They'll they'll

(20:58):
be Okay, it's more of the Forest Whitley thing. He
can't help it root for him. How couldn't you. It's
one of those things. If he came back to the
ballpark starting or put pitching in the bullpen and became
a player for somebody else, it'd be easy to cheer
for him when he walked into your into the building
after three years from now and all of a sudden
saying damn, he finally did it. It'd be easy to
cheer for him because it's just it's been a hell

(21:20):
of a grinde man, and I hope it does work
for him. But the Astro's got to move on and
they've got some good players, and they've got you know,
they got to know looking in the mirror that they
gave all the effort they could to give him every
chance to be successful and it just didn't work.

Speaker 6 (21:33):
Yeah, happens, Yeah, no question about it. Great guy for sure.
I can absolutely attribute that to him, all right. Jordon Alvarez,
As we mentioned yesterday on Astro Launch, Dana Brown catching
up with Robert Ford for his weekly visits, and of
course it is almost a weekly update on at Jordon Alvarez.

Speaker 10 (21:55):
I think it's ceiling a lot more and so he's
close to picking up a bat. Could happen with this week,
so and the goal would be once he gets back
to tickets and swings, we'll probably do what we did before,
try assimilate a game instead of sending him out to
triple A because we really like to have him back
asap and Sean.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
Last week, me and Ross were able to catch up
with Dana Brown and one of the things he did
talk about was that they are going to going forward
do more imaging for guys that are in a situation
like Jordan Alvarez is. So I have to believe that
before he does that, he is going to make a
stop over at the medical center.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
Yeah, well, I got news for you when it comes
to that guy image away, you know everything and the
rest of it. I just for me, I wouldn't understand
why you wouldn't. I would always err on the side
of when it comes to that trying to find out more.
It's not one of those Well you can't just go

(22:57):
by the player or something's word of mouth or his Yeah,
I feeling better, you have to. Yeah, it surprises me
that you don't, especially a prize catch like that, when
you've got a guy that's is that important to an organization,
should be that case with everybody. Everybody's important. But we
know where he lies in the pecking order. Yeah, if
more imaging is what gives you a get out in

(23:19):
front of something or gives you a little quicker and
more thorough and more accurate diagnosis on a regular basis
and go for it. I'm sure that city was tripping
when that news came down. When you expect him to
come back and then all of a sudden find out
that you know it's deeper than it's no longer just
a soft tissue, that there's an issue in there. I'm

(23:41):
sure that it was frustrating for everybody, including Dana and
the rest of them. But if more imaging is what
it takes to make sure that your stars or your
players have an earlier and quicker understanding or along the
way for progress, you absolutely have to do it. So
we'll see. And this team's doing this without his impact

(24:01):
because he was not playing well and obviously something was
bothering him before that because the power wasn't there. And
now that you've been through this, the last thing you
want to do is they always a patient, but you
have to make sure you're patient because losing in for
the full season, I don't know if you can sustain this.
If you can, that's awesome. This team's been better than
most that sustaining the loss of stars or injuries to

(24:24):
pitchers or losing a Kyle Tucker. So I would imagine
I got news for it'll make it a lot easier
with him than to line up even if he's not productive.
To start having him in there. The body in there
makes pictures, it'll exhaust them a little more. So the
sooner the better, the more imaging, if that's what it takes.
But they're doing this without him quite frankly, hasn't been
much of a presence or production the entire year, not

(24:47):
just because the injury, but when he played it was
not the ordon were used to. So you've come this
far with patients. If it takes two extra games along
the way whenever he feels fit and you got to
take another two days or a week, then do it.
Because the last thing you want to hear, oh you
know what, he's gonna be out now until the All
Star break and we'll see how I feel. You don't
want that, so image away if that's what it takes.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
And one more real quick here on the plan for
yourd on.

Speaker 10 (25:12):
Batting practice for sure, you know off the you know,
off the live arm. You know he's gonna have to
do some off the machine, you know, so we'll get
it a share of batting practice, and then once we
feel like he's got he's getting through that well with
no pain or anything like that, then we'll set them
up with potentially, you know, a live BP against the pitcher,

(25:36):
get them some at bats that way, and get them
back here in Houston.

Speaker 6 (25:40):
So I'm gonna go ahead and assume that imaging either
it has taken place or will take place, because I
would probably have to guess, Sean, the Astros don't want
egg on their face for a third straight time here
in the last two years.

Speaker 5 (25:53):
Yeah, and you don't want I mean, if you're saying that,
you know, you know what it is specifically, you're not
going to start making well predictions on you know, the
yes or his schedule until you know what the prognosis is.
And so I would imagine if they haven't, I mean,
they've seen enough pictures, I would imagine that, you know,

(26:15):
every step of the way, you want to make sure
that everybody's one hundred percent on the same page. He's
too He's too important to the organization.

Speaker 6 (26:23):
For sure, So hopefully the Astros get him back sooner
rather than later.

Speaker 5 (26:26):
Something amazing to me, dude, It's amazing that they're sitting
here without him it really is. Considering the off season
and pitcher pitching injuries, it's fascinating to me. I mean,
I know, maybe I'm making a bigger deal of it,
but this is this is the this is Otawne to
us here, this is Mookie Betts, this is you know,

(26:47):
Ronald Lacuna when he's healthy, Trout when he I mean,
that's who Jordan is this organization. Now, some may be
able to last a while, but how many how many
you take Ramirez out of the Indians on it? What
I mean the Guardian's line of what happens. Yeah, I mean,
you can go through the lists, but it's fascinating and
some teams are just a little more resilient. And you

(27:07):
can never question the resilience of the Astros, that's for
damn sure. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (27:11):
They set two and a half games up on the
Mariners right now for first place in the Al West,
and hoping they can be able to increase that number
here in the coming days as they come back. Todike
and Park off today, back at tomorrow, starting up a
series against the White Sox again. Someone three two, one, two, five,
seven ninety is the number to get in one of

(27:31):
the positives that we have seen with the Astros, and
that is the guy that made the start yesterday. What
is it like for him long term with this team.
We'll discuss that here again, just getting going here on
the Sean Salisbury Show, Sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 5 (27:44):
Hey guys, Men's TA Clinic, Men's ta Clinic dot Com. Optimization,

lot of things in our life, well, what we're going
to eat tomorrow, what we're going on vacation, what time
we're picking our buddy up to go to the game.

(28:27):
Do you invest in your wellness? Optimization? Do you do
you invest in that in you or just assume, oh,
it'll get taken care of, and then you start to
realize three months in, you're like four months in, five
months in, this ain't getting taken care of on its own.
I need a little uh and maybe that comes from
Men's Tea Clinic normalizing your not only your wellness, the

(28:49):
optimization wellness, but also your testosterone if it's low. It's
as simple as going in, drawing a little blood and
having them by the end of the day gets you
to the results, so you can get to work. Get
to work on fixing things and optimizing all your wellness
from head to toe. It's not just sexual wellness that's
part of this, but when you go ahead to tell wellness,
it's a whole different feel. So get into your feels

(29:12):
and invest in yourself. And that investment starts with your
commitment to getting in and seeing the great team one
to five convenient locations. Eleven years now, they've been doing
business and changing lives. It's Men's Tea Clinic. You don't
have to stay stuck in lower gear, but you do
if you're wise. Want to optimize all your wellness from

(29:32):

Get or done it's menst Clinic dot com. Menst clinic

Speaker 6 (29:39):
The seven to ninety listener line in the six o'clock
hour is brought to you by one eight hundred car Cash.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
Brad wants to wi to get us going this morning. Brad,
what's going on?

Speaker 5 (29:49):
Hey, good morning? Not to unpack your real quick fortuately.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
I mean, it just goes to show you that scouting is.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
I mean, it's just a crapshoot. It is what it is.

Speaker 5 (29:59):
Sean, You've seen it.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
We've all seen it.

Speaker 11 (30:01):
Number two, Jordan, I think I've brought this up back before.
Is he just too darn big and his muscle and
his bone density and the injury the soft tissue injuries
kind of I eh, you know, y'ao means type stuff.
Is he just too big and you're seeing it too
often with this guy?

Speaker 12 (30:22):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Number three? Where were we last year?

Speaker 3 (30:25):
I believe that I was told that we were twelve back.

Speaker 11 (30:28):
Come on, guys, and is it too soon to think
that Dana Brown could be GM of the Year if
we make the playoffs?

Speaker 5 (30:40):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (30:40):
I got that's my take, man.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
Let me hear what you got. Yeah, I appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (30:43):
Brad.

Speaker 6 (30:44):
I mean, I'll go ahead and start with the last one. Sean,
for all of the barbs that Dana has taken a
lot of them, I think at times unfair. You can't
deny the fact that the guy's got an eye for talent.
I mean, how many how many examples do we need
to have at this point to realize that he can
be able to find diamonds in the rough And it's

(31:05):
worked out incredibly well for the Astros.

Speaker 5 (31:07):
I don't think there's any question at all. And to
answer Brad's question, you damn right, he can be considered
executive of the year. We've gone through the litany of
things that he's had to overcome as a general manager
and fill people in he just hasked. And the truth is,
no matter what anybody, even though you couldn't sign, he
had to get the blessing last year to sign Kakuchi.
I mean, of course the owner has to, you know,

(31:30):
the buy in and say, okay, this money are we
doing this? Getting with it? And Jim Crane's a baseball guy,
so from that and it worked while he was here. Unfortunately,
you couldn't, you know, keep him longer. It was a
rental and you lost some minor league players, some prospects,
but Kokuchi elevated his play and that's a sign to
be able to see what you saw the way Kakuchi

(31:51):
was pitching in Toronto, which wasn't very good. Last year.
You got here, things changed. You start to look I mean,
I start to go through the things that you have
to overcome, and you're damn right, you're going to have
to start looking at at at Dana Brown as that guy.
I'm sure that's not what his worry is right now.
It's winning championships and if an award comes with it.

(32:11):
But I think that people, I think the people are
not critical of Dana Brown's ability to have an eye
for talent. I don't know how you can question that's
that's why. That's where he's chopping. Where he's built is
his reputation as a scout and understanding, you know, seeing talent,
talent that maybe others can't see. And it's turned into

(32:32):
being a GM and I think he's done a hell
of a job. That doesn't take away that, you know
that the frustration of the injury talk, But listen, one
thing that people have to know. I know it's different here.
I know it's frustrating frustrates all of us. But I
want to ask you, what is it you think that
gms are supposed to say about a player who's hurt.
Rarely in any sport, in any front office, do they

(32:54):
come out and tell you everything you want to hear.
And I know we're frustrated, But if that's the worst
part for Dana Brown of protecting the player, doing what
the organization has done and what they want to do,
then what else are the supposed to come out and say, yeah,
you know what this is it?

Speaker 13 (33:10):
Now?

Speaker 5 (33:10):
If they know and they're hiding it, it's one thing.
I don't believe that's the case. I think they truly.
I think there are times Dan, when it's a fence
sitting like, well, it could be this, it could be this.
Let's air on the side of let's protect it and
let's let's wait. And I know that the impatience for
us as fans and media to want to know every
answer about every injury. We've all we all have our

(33:32):
our things, okay, And I know being impatient for us
and wanting to know, and it was frustrating about injuries
and about blockle and that's okay. If what if that's
the worst say he does, we'll be okay, we'll get
over it. But he does have as a GM, you know,
to protect the organization the player first. That's important. Whether
we agree with it or it's important. And so I

(33:54):
get that one hundred percent. But I don't think that
you can come on here and you can give your opinion.
They're maybe deals that you wanted und to pay more
keep a guy or that, but when you look at
talent and his understanding of a guy's ability, he gets
it and he's damn good at it. So I can
assure people that have been here and have not been

(34:14):
in another city. I've been in a lot of them.
Very few organizations are forthright and completely transparent with their injuries.
Doesn't mean well, why would they lie to this? It's not
even a matter of lio. It's like it's well, I'll
give you an example for myself. When I was coming
into the league, they had the quarterbacks. I made the
Seattle Seahawks, and I'm not your on. Don't misunderstand me.

(34:35):
This doesn't Back in the Washington Redskins, days before they
were the Commanders and Joe Gibbs, people used to tell
you you had an injury. Sean it happened to me.
I'm telling you the week of the opening part of
the season that they're going to go I think the
first game with two quarterbacks. It was myself, Gelle Gilbert
and David Craig and offensive coordinator said, man, you're going

(34:56):
to be a good player for us and Chuck Ducks.
But man, it's a bummer you got. I don't have tenaniitis.
You have tendonitis. Oh I have tenanitis. That's a fact.
I'm just telling you that was a fact. But people
are doing Why when they had Stan Humphries and Mark
Rippin and then they have like six quarterbacks, they kept

(35:16):
protecting on the rosters and with the alls. You got
to do is say you know that kind of injury
and it is like, well we can't. Really, It's it's
you know, pain and threshold of pain. So it's been
happening for years. People do everything they can. I'm not
saying it happens here, but that was when you could
protect them. So you say, hey, tenanitis, how do you
attest for tenanitis? You don't. But so I understand if
that's our biggest frustration, we'll get through it. I think

(35:37):
Dana Brown has been an outstanding GM here when it
comes to scouting talent. He's been great, he absolutely and
he's been He's been really really good. And so yes, Brad,
you can make that commed. As far as scouting goes,
it's not an exact science at any position in any
sport in the Forest Whitley case. So yeah, and being
in this position, I've already said it, you've had to
do some really really good things and get some production

(35:58):
from people. You didn't to be in this position without
Jordon Albarez and with all the offseason stuff. Dand Brown's
been really good, even though the frustration of injuries. But
he's the spokesperson for it because he's on our show
every Wednesday. So I get it. And if that's our frustration,
then we'll find a way to work through that. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (36:15):
And you know what Brad brought up to about jord On,
I do want to get into that because I think
the answer to his question is pretty simple.

Speaker 5 (36:21):
So we'll do that. H Yeah, I'll just say this
real quick. That answers the answer to me, is he
too big? No? Unfortunately there could be something going on,
but is his size may have to you know when
you say yao ming and the rest of it. The
size have to do with it, maybe something stronger than others.
But is he too big? There's guys. I mean, we
can say the thing about Judge and other people. I

(36:41):
understand what Brad's saying. I don't think that's the case
with Jordon Albaros.

Speaker 6 (36:45):
Fair enough, we'll talk about a little bit more here,
Mike and Humble see you're right there.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
Get you involved.

Speaker 6 (36:50):
You want to join him on the seven to ninety
listener line seven one three two one two five seven
ninety is the way to do that. As we continue
to roll along here, it is a Sean Salisbury show.

Speaker 5 (37:00):
You're on a Monday country boys roofing. It's that time
of year. You guys know the weather. We'll make it
real simple if you want safety and precaution, whether it's
going in before the roof gets ruined because it's old,
or coming out of a storm where you need it
done urgently and done right. John and his crew great crew.
It's not just John, a great crew with country boys
roofing country with the cane boys, with his heat. It's

(37:23):
certainty and Atlas certified. We know that they will help
you navigate insurance claims they will go anywhere in Houston.
No job too big or too small, all those things
that matter. It is storm season at a time when
people will take you for granted and take advantage of you.
If you're a military first responder or an educator, you

(37:43):
get one thousand, five hundred dollars discount on your full roof.
That's even during this season, which is fairly unprecedented because
people can overcharge. John won't neither were country boys roofing.
And if you're not one of those, and you just
mention my name, you'll get one thousand dollars off a
discount on your full roof. See don't you like people

(38:04):
that'll go to the ends of the earth for you
and know at this time of the year, instead of
taking advantage of you, they're taking They're making sure you
take advantage of an opportunity to be safe and secure.
Honesty integrity matters in a business that we don't even
really think about our roof, do We Sometimes like, unless
something bad happens, we'll get out in front of it.

(38:25):
And it's nice to know that if something happens to
your roof, you've got a trusted, transparent and loyal group
to you, and that's Countryboys Roofing. It's country with the
K Boys with the Z. Countryboysroofing dot Com is where
you go. Schedule that free estimate, get them out there
and watch them do work. Country Boys, Country with the

(38:46):
K Boys with a Z Countryboysroofing dot Com.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
The Shawn Salsbury Show continues.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
No, Now, you know.

Speaker 6 (38:59):
I agree with what you said about Jordan, and I
think that the evidence is pretty apparent here because he
tears the ACL in twenty twenty, misses the short COVID season,
comes back the following year. I think was relatively injury
free that year and in twenty two as well, maybe
a couple of small things here and there. But then

(39:21):
last year, remember he took the fastball off his right
knee against the Twins, and then that right knee he
injured it against the Angels in that series late in
the season and was never the same after that. I
almost wonder if that fastball and that knee injury never
completely healed for him and he kind of just played

(39:42):
through it last year.

Speaker 5 (39:44):
Maybe, And that goes back to threshold of pain and
playing through it. And listen, once the season starts, everybody's
a little tired and banged up. Now, some injuries are
obviously summer hurt summer injured, big difference. I've talked about
that before. Hurt, you played through. Injured, you can't play.
I mean that's usually the way we're And sometimes some
guys probably are injured and still do play and you're like,
what are they doing? So I just there are times

(40:07):
when it's luck. You know, like some of the big
guys we've seen in the past, and whether it's the
NBA or in sports, or I've seen small guys that
have had chronic injuries too, where it's it's like the
constantly banged up. Of course, the bigger you are, the
more weight you're carrying, the toughert is on your lower half.
There's no doubt I get that. But I think him now,

(40:28):
the chronic ones if you wake up every day and
like every fifth day, every eight day you got to
miss because well, his ankles are bothering him. Is he's got,
you know, a constant structural issue in both his ankles
because you know, as a big guy, whether the joint
you know, as we we've heard these injuries with centers
in the past and it's happened to the odems of
the greg Odem. I mean, it's happened to a lot

(40:50):
of a lot of big guys. But you know, it's
about six five two forty right, fifty two thirty five.
There's a lot of guys that are maybe not as
impressive as him, but they're big. Sometimes it's a bad luck,
and it may be if there's a chronic thing that
goes on that he just plays through because he's you know,
you know, if somebody thinks he's a tough guy with this,
maybe some you know new all along this is just

(41:12):
you know, only soft tissue. This is something there's something
deeper in this. Who knows, But I don't look at
it is because he's big, he's strong, but because he's big,
that he's going to be a guy that well we're
gonna have to worry about every half year that he's
going to be hurt. I just think there's been you know,
being big had nothing to do with taking a you know,
you know, a fastball off your hand. Right, So if

(41:32):
it was one of those where it's the chronic the
same injuries where you see guys like but you know,
when Bill Walton's lower half and his legs and knees
start to it happens. Yes, it's just different, but the
way the body. But he's not a seven foot two guys.
This is a six or five guy who's just had
some unfortunate luck. And some of it may be that
he's gonna have to carry around a chronic injury or

(41:52):
something his whole career, just deal with the hurt of it.
But he's still pretty damn good when he's healthy for
a guy who has been banged up. Some love to
see him one hundred percent healthy every year for one
hundred and fifty five games, but you may not get that.
But I don't think his size and his particular case
is the reason that he's always hurt. At six five,
two thirty five, those guys are become a regular occurrence. Now. Hell,

(42:15):
we got guys that big a hockey that are goal
scorers no longer goons, So it happens in baseball and
football too. I'm hoping that this isn't something that's going
to last his entire career. I think there's been some
unfortunate luck with him as well.

Speaker 6 (42:28):
Yeah, hopefully it all pays off, especially for this season,
because you absolutely could use him in the middle of
the lineup someone three two on two five seven ninety
is the number to get in.

Speaker 1 (42:37):
Mike, see you right there. You want to join them,
you can do so.

Speaker 6 (42:40):
It gets you involved in the conversation here as we
start our number two of the Sewn Salisbury Show right here,
Sports Talk seven ninety AD.

Speaker 14 (42:49):
Houston ADHD two Houston, an iHeart radio station.

Speaker 2 (42:55):
And the Rocket Sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 3 (42:59):
You're home for you home teams.

Speaker 15 (43:01):
From the Parsons Imagine Next Studios.

Speaker 4 (43:07):
Salsbury did, okay, let's do this.

Speaker 9 (43:14):
Sean Salisbury to usc Troupe's longtime friend Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
Dan Matthews us. This is the Sean Salisbury Show.

Speaker 6 (43:29):
Four two yesterday that the Guardians in Cleveland they're gonna
get the White Sox in town to start up a
series NBA Finals Thunder leveling things up at one game
apiece with the Pacers as that series now shifts up
to Indiana, and reports say that running back Nick Chubb
expected to sign a one year deal with the Texans
as they get going with mandatory mini camp. Sean, as

(43:52):
a listener pointed out, you know, you're almost kind of
like John Cleary or John beckwith was his name was
Owen Wilson's character on Wedding Crashers.

Speaker 1 (44:02):
It's good to have you back, buddy.

Speaker 5 (44:04):
Good to be back. Man. It was a hell of
a trip. It's been. It was a dream trip. And
when you get to play Cypress Point in Pebble Beach
and Monterey Peninsula and country club and what my spyglass.
It was with three of my best friends in the
world and eight great dinners and played great golf, had

(44:27):
a million laughs. It was worth every single It was
worth it all. And I'm telling you, buddy, watching some
of this on TV, you know, we all have dream trips,
whatever it is you like to do. But when you're
standing at like number seven, you start to think about
when Nicholas played there at Pebble Beach, how you were
going to play number eighteen at Pebble Beach. What it's like.

(44:47):
I mean, it was spectacular and anybody get a chance.
I was late to the party. For a guy who's
obsessed and obsessive, compulsive about golf and golf attire and
apparel I had. You're with three of your the closest
friends in the world that you've known for since high school.
It was a It was an absolute blast. It's been

(45:08):
a phenomenal need. It haven't had a vacation in about
eight years, truly non working vacation. So it's not a
pat on the back. It's just like it was worth it.
And I'm telling you you love golf, Dan, and I
know your brother's really good. I am mesmerized at how
that that area in the seventeen mile drive in Pebble
Beach and Monterey and Carmel, which I've been up there

(45:29):
before but never played golf, And for the top seventy
five courses on the planet, we got to play them.
And I consider all day and talking about the difficulty
or what it's like, but standing on eighteen you felt
like you were on the PGA Tour and if you
played it right, which I was fortunate to play it right.
Other than the putt, it was it was a blast, man.
And it was just that's a beautiful part of the world, man,

(45:50):
You know that part. It's kind of like they're they're
hidden by themselves, but it was when you're standing on
a tea box in the ocean and seals and birds
and cypress trees, it's a hard thing to beat. And
some of the best courses literally in the world. I
was fortunate to be a part of the head of Blast.
Then the laughs are irreplaceable. So it was awesome. Thanks,
it's great to be back, and it's gonna be a
fun summer head into football and thanks for having me back.

(46:13):
And like I said, it was memorable. Have a lot
of laughs and stuff over the next few days about it.
But I can tell you this, don't bury this lead man.
And I know he's coming off an injury, but if
he's healthy and they sign him, Nick Chubb gives them
the most physical backfield duo in the league period. I
want you when I said physical, now I'm talking about

(46:36):
a one to two punch. There's no more physical one
two punch in the league. If Nick Chubb becomes a
Houston Texan, this is another part of when you got
guys back there that are going to build it that
way and you say, here's how we do things. If
Nick Chubb's ninety percent or eighty five percent of what
we've seen Chubb in the past, when he's healthy, they

(46:57):
are going to punish some people this. I think this
is an under to get if they pull it off.
I'm just telling you it is. And that's your number
two back healthy. Yeah. Oh, I'll talk Pebble Beach and
Monterey Peninsula all day long, brother in Cyprus point, but
I saw that and I'm like, I'm actually pretty excited
that they can pull it off. Because if Chubb is

(47:18):
healthy and you've seen him put his time and you've
seen his workouts, you're getting a whole new level of
physicality with these two backs, something this team needs. And
it also sends a message to the guys that are
blocking for you, this is how we're going to do it,
So I know it's worth You know, we're still a
minute away with mandatory mini camp and training camp getting
to start here the next month and a half, but

(47:39):
I'm just telling you this is going to be an underround.
I loved the mix and signing. If if Chubb is
a Houston Texan, you you are immediately telling everybody we're
coming at you a little bit different, and that's that's
a good thing.

Speaker 6 (47:55):
Yeah, no doubt about it. And definitely do want to
get into that top conversation. We'll do it here you're
in a hour or two. But continuing with the astros
right now, Mike and Numble wants to weigh in.

Speaker 7 (48:05):
Good morning, Mike Hell, what's going on?

Speaker 5 (48:10):
Ye? Not much, y'all.

Speaker 7 (48:12):
Y'all don't RECOGNI this is that Kyle Tucker. To do
you with Alvarez?

Speaker 5 (48:18):
What do you mean by Kyle Tucker too.

Speaker 7 (48:21):
Well? He'llly end up with another team if it is.
I think we've been lied to about Kyle Tucker last
year and then Alvarez seems like it's the same thing
over and over.

Speaker 5 (48:38):
Now when you do you mean? Do you mean the
way they handled the Kyle Tucker that it was a
bone bruise, bone bruise, bone bruise, and then sixty games in,
before Game seventy, they said it was a They said
it was a fracture, which I think most of us
knew two weeks in because bone bruises don't keep people
out that long. So maybe maybe it was different the
way they looked at it with that, But I thought

(48:59):
you meant well because Kyle Tucker was always hurt. Kyle
Tucker was durable as hell until last year, So that
part's there. That's not a comparison. Kyle Tucker played all
the time, most every day. Last year was the oberration
for him. But if you're wondering if well as the injury.
The same work's going to last. It's probably lasted longer
than we expected, and it's obviously different because soft tissue,

(49:20):
and then you know they need another X ray in there.
There was some stuff that was going wrong. I don't
think they intentionally lie. I think they're they're you know,
their obligation to the player first. So let's hope Jordan's
not out seventy plus games. Let's hope that's the case.
So I think that, and I don't think Jordan's ended
up anywhere else under contrac I don't think he's going

(49:40):
anwhere else anytime soon. But let's hope it's not one
of those where this is a regular occurrence again. But
we'll get him back. But it's it's it's unfortunate you see.

Speaker 7 (49:50):
Us picking up any anybody before the trade deadline.

Speaker 5 (49:55):
I know it's a it's a ways off yet.

Speaker 9 (49:57):
But.

Speaker 5 (49:59):
Are we talking about picking up player you need to
replace Amy to fill it? I don't know. I mean,
you know, I still think people are always looking at
when you look at where they are, and anticipation that
they don't anticipate Jordon's is going to be gone seventy
five eighty ninety games. I think that's their anticipation at least,
So I don't think that he'd be the one you'd
go replace. I still I always think that they're going

(50:21):
to go pitching first. That's just me. I always do.
But listen, if they thought it was a full season
to get another big bopper bat, maybe, unless they think
they have it in the house, which there's no Jordon
in house. There's very few Jordons across the league. So
I think they'll entertain everything. I think it all comes
down to how long will this last? Is he really

(50:42):
truly right around the corner from starting. But when it
comes to durability, Kyle Tucker was a durable player until
last year. When it comes to, you know, full transparency
on injuries, I don't think many teams give you full
transparency because they're protecting player first.

Speaker 6 (50:57):
Well, we all got to have a bliss day, say, team,
I appreciate it with your and on. He's under contract
until twenty twenty nine, right, so I mean he's gonna
be making about twenty seven million per for the next
three years.

Speaker 5 (51:10):
Yeah, I don't. And plus this there's I mean, this
is one of the five or six I mean, what
top ten player has chosen by AB network in the league.
We know how good he is. I just you just
don't want this to linger long, and it's longer than
it has been. But I don't think they're looking at this.
This is a you know, an eighty game, half season

(51:30):
type thing. At least we hope that we. I don't know.
I don't see the images, but I do understand, even
though it frustrated, is why a team protects the players
and doesn't give you. But I've never been on a
team that gave full transparency on injuries. I've never covered
a team that gave full transparency on injuries. I actually
sometimes think it's irresponsible to overtalk on injuries for an organization.

(51:55):
I do as an understanding that part as a player.
But from our vantage point and the fans and the media,
of course, we want full trends what's going on. And
I think there are at times that sometimes people do
get misdiagnosed, not on purpose. I don't mean the doctors.
Some of you doesn't know what he's doing. Sometimes you
think it's one thing. How long does it take swelling

(52:15):
to go down? Those things? I don't know. I think
everything's different. So but we've all been frustrated by it,
but you don't want that egg on your face to
say one thing and another thing happened. And I think
they're always going to air on it. But if they're
talking about going out and finding town, if they needed
to go find talent to replace jord On, you're not
going to replace him. Of course, if they knew he
was going to be out the season, they'd try to
go find a bat. But I don't think that after

(52:37):
what's happened in the situation and what we've seen happen
over the last couple of years and this year with injuries,
I don't think this is going to be one of
those that you know, they're trying to fool anybody. They're
trying to get yord On back on the field so
he can go play, and you know you've already had
your bout with that this year, and the transparency's tough
to find with injuries, and it's not just yastros just

(52:59):
to continue to do thing and hopefully your Donora will
cover quicker than even this one came around. And it
has taken longer than we expected, but I'd rather have
it that way than him come back sooner. And then
I'll find out Yep, it's rehurt and we'll see you
in August. Yeah, nobody wants to hear that.

Speaker 6 (53:14):
And I mean in terms of bats, I mean, I
think you feel pretty good. I mean, you really show
me you factor in that the guys that you're expecting
to hit have not done all that well. I mean,
you give Jose al Tuova a day off yesterday. He's
going through another one of his slumps right now and
seeing deal with Christian Walker where yeah, he hits the
go ahead home run last week against Pittsburgh, but it

(53:35):
hasn't been a pronounced production out of him for you know,
numerous games and.

Speaker 5 (53:41):
Him below two hundreds, yeah, in the two ten range.
So the in truth, tell me who has raped? If
somebody said, okay, give me your top three guys this
year at the plate, who is it? Forget just yeah,
I'm talking about overall production. Hanya, correct, Yeah, he's one. Myers,
you would have to stay. Paradus is is in there? Yeah, agreed,

(54:01):
there's two. Who's your third? I just said, Myers, Oh
there you go. Yeah, that's exactly right. And so Paratus
we did, we did. We thought he'd be good, but
we didn't know how much production you're replacing an astral
legend they expected. Jake Myers is hitting one hundred ninety points,

(54:21):
eighty points higher than anybody expected. Hopefully it continues that
there's a confidence growing with him, or he wouldn't be
hovering around three hundred and then paying you. Even while
our expectations are always high of the guy. He's even
elevated his game all around. But then you start to
look at you expected more pop out of Christian Walker.
You expected Jordan Alvarez to be in there delivering the

(54:42):
hose al too. They consistently that you want with power
and bats, and they come in bunches. We know who
that is. So other than that, you're it's mix and match.
You know, cam Smith getting his once in a while,
McCormick getting a hit here and there, getting the iron,
erd is trying to get him back in, or a
Victor Carratini and then he we start to move around.
The two of the names are unexpected. A third one

(55:05):
is even more productive than we thought because it's his
third year full season in the league and he's playing
great baseball and look, so we have a mention names
that that's a no Brainer al Tuo, Vate Alvarez, the
no brainers that you expected to hit based on what
they've done in their career and they're still here. So yeah, man,
I mean the three names, those are it? That is

(55:25):
your three guys that you'd say he's raked pretty well
this year, and one of them is Jake Myers. You'll
take it because at a time when you be remember
when they needed JP France and they needed Renel Blanco
in different times, in different seasons you needed You've needed
it Jake Myers, and you've needed a paradis to do
what they're doing. And quite frankly pinion, at some point
in time the group will get hot. I just don't

(55:47):
know when that is. And when they're all on the
field healthy together.

Speaker 6 (55:50):
Yeah, it'll be a nice thing once that finally comes
to fruition, all right, Sean. A lot of us will
always put ourselves out there, especially me and you. We
speak into live microphone on a daily basis. But this
guy put himself out there over the weekend and some
of the reviews from people not so glowing. We'll talk
about it right here. It is Sean Salisbury Show, Sports

(56:11):
Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 5 (56:13):
Hey Witsavision dot com. Doctor Jeff Witzit at witstvision dot com.
I'm so grateful I win and he's done my Lasik procedure.
He can do yours too. Fantastic, great staff, great aftercare.
It was non invasive. I wasn't on the table long minutes,
and in a couple of days I was seeing like
I hadn't seen in thirty years. And then all of

(56:34):
a sudden things happen. To get a cataracts one eye, Bam,
go in there, what's wits it do? Bingo bango bongo.
On this golf trip, I told I I got to
go on a golf trip. Man, I gotta get this
one fixed where it's not not seeing double of the
rest of it. Boom happens, gets it, take care of.
I still got a floaters over here fixing it. I
go on to say, man, I actually get to see
my golf ball down and that's a pretty cool thing.

(56:56):
It's been a while, and so Lasik cataracts fixes it.
Like I said, when your eyes feel like they're twenty
five and not fifty, it's a different ballgame. And that's
all because of Jeff Whitson. I'm so grateful for him.
Go in there and get the great care, work out
your payment plan. There's always something good and specials happening
with doctor Whitson and there's no better lasy procedure eye
care doctor on the planet. And we have him right

(57:17):
here in Houston. Love him and grateful for him. And
he made my trip more delightful. And he'll do it
for you as well. Pop on in there, go for
your free review, your free consultation. And if you're tired
of glasses in context, wits It's your guy. Go in
and get it taken care of. You'll be grateful you did.
And the recovery is urgent and really really good, the

(57:37):
best in the business. And I'm grateful he's my guy,
and I'm grateful. I'm a patient. It's doctor Jeff Witsit
and Witsadvision dot Com with's the Vision dot Com take.

Speaker 1 (57:48):
Take Barrel's his way to the basket. I'm the window
in Hey is Jay Shante? Back to the Shawn Salisbury show.
Well in Sports Talk seven ninety station of your rockers.
All right, Sean, what are you hearing out there now?

(58:09):
The Salisbury's takeouts? Salsbury's takeout on the Sean Salisbury show.

Speaker 6 (58:18):
Sports Socks seven ninety It is the Sean Salisbury Show
Astros for two losers to The Guardian's Yestay and Cleveland,
they do take two out of three and finish with
a winning road trip off today before the White Sox
are in town NBA Finals Thunder, evening up the series
at one with the Pacers as it now heads to
Indiana and running back Nick Chubb expected to sign a

(58:41):
one year deal with the Texans today to get ready
for mandatory mini camp. Sean, I'm sure you saw this
over the weekend that this clip was making the rounds.
It was Fox News' Brett Bayer up on stage singing
rappers Delight, which I'm not sure exactly where he was,
but TRIPLEI. We've got that for Sean, and the audience,

(59:04):
for those who haven't had a chance to hear it, says,
so let's let up, Brett, take it away.

Speaker 5 (59:13):
Jump the rhythm.

Speaker 1 (59:16):
Shoo. That's right, America, we love you, and we run.

Speaker 5 (59:20):
Get broke to the so we could rock to one hundred.

Speaker 1 (59:24):
I don't mean the come bad, right.

Speaker 5 (59:30):
I heard it? Yeah, I saw it and watch the video.
I thought he was pretty good. I liked it. He
hit that he hit him. He knew the exact words.
I mean two of us did not verbatim practice and
learn the sugar Hill gangs. Uh. This cut rappers delight
when we were growing up where we knew all the

(59:51):
words and we could do this same thing. How about
Brett pulled it off? That was good?

Speaker 1 (59:55):
I thought, I thought so too.

Speaker 6 (59:57):
I mean I have seen positive reactions like Sean Farrash,
who I think is with the Damon A.

Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
Mendelara show. He's not bad.

Speaker 6 (01:00:06):
Actually didn't have this on my twenty twenty five bingo
card is bad.

Speaker 5 (01:00:11):
Yeah, I like it takes some guts again then to
just roll through it? Is it a hip hop? A
hitty to the hit?

Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
He hit it?

Speaker 5 (01:00:17):
Matt he did? I mean I was. I thought it
was really cool. And I guess for me, it wasn't
the fact that he was singing the cut. It was
who was singing it. He seems like the least likely,
one of the least likely guys to really get and
embrace that, and it seemed like he did. I don't
know where the event was taking place, but when I
watched a video, I got a smile on my face.

(01:00:38):
I thought it was cool. Yeah, On him, not.

Speaker 6 (01:00:39):
Bad on him, but I mean you do have a
lot of people who of course, I mean people who
don't like you, they're going to dislike you as is.
And when things like this, you know, you step outside
of your comfort zone. It's it's easy to be able
to latch onto to be like ah, cringe, you know, corny,
any of those different things, Like I don't know who
Vince Lingman is, but he is verified. This is cringe

(01:01:03):
on steroids. Hey, Brett Bahar, don't quit your day job.
He's not a professional singer.

Speaker 5 (01:01:08):
Vince No, here's yea. My whole thing with that? Dan
is okay, who's got what's worse? The guy that doesn't
have the balls to be able to laugh at himself.
Whether you like Brett Bear's politics, that has nothing to
do with it. I grabbed the mic singing you Rappers
of Light and Sugarhill Gang, and of course what was
cringe about it? That's like people at weddings. People do

(01:01:31):
this all the time, right, People do this in their homes.
People have karaoke machines. It's nothing more than karaoke car
you know, on camera and video. And he did it
knowing there was going to be this reaction. He ain't
getting paid to go sing. He's got it. He does
have a day job, So what's wrong with doing something
that isn't just so buttoned up. I've never understood that
if a person can laugh at themselves over something. And

(01:01:53):
the truth is, if it would have sounded horrendous and
he kept up, I'd laughed even harder. He actually sounded
pretty good. You're like, Okay, can know a little bit
and knows the you know, knows the tune. And to me,
people can be so raunchy and awful. Remove the politics
regardless of that's why you don't like him, then that's

(01:02:14):
one thing. But I don't have a problem when somebody
can go out there and kind of laugh at themselves
and do something fun. As a matter of fact, I'd
prefer that that would the person who's afraid to try anything,
and so who the hell cares? And in truth, you
know you're going to get a reaction that does Brettbaar
really care? But somebody thinks about, oh, this is don't
quit your day job. Of course he's not quit his
day job because he probably makes ten million a year

(01:02:36):
singing's for fun. He can afford the karaoke machine. So
people at times just they they're not hating on somebody bitter.
You can't very happy when they're bitter. So I don't
have a problem. I wouldn't if this was It wouldn't
matter who it was. It's like, Okay, guy can or
can't sing, or the girl can or can't sing, but

(01:02:57):
we're getting a good laugh and a good put a
smile on my So I don't know what the big
deal is. And of course he realizes he's not big
bank hank. Okay, he understands that, or wonder Mike, all right,
he's gonna be fine. And I thought it was kind
of cool. Two of us hasn't made a fool of
ourselves singing or doing dancing. Just have fun and if
they don't like it, well grab a mic and stand

(01:03:20):
the post. Brother, let's go. Let's go.

Speaker 16 (01:03:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
One other he tried, lol.

Speaker 6 (01:03:26):
And then somebody in defense of Bretts is they do
a three part argument here Number one rapping, not singing,
too fun, not bizarre.

Speaker 1 (01:03:36):
Three lighten up Francis.

Speaker 5 (01:03:39):
Yeah. Yeah. If it was all of a sudden somebody
say that's a professional singer, he'd probably back say damn
that studio sure does help. I thought Brett Bear carried
a note and I think it makes for good laughs,
and maybe you see a side of him that most
people are not used to seeing, other than a white
shirt and a tie and a suit and coat on

(01:04:00):
on his you know, his show Daily and there's a
new show, Political show, and I know the guys an
Avid Golfer as well. But I kind of like seeing
people in a vulnerable situation. I mean, that's not dangerous,
but a vulnerable You're like, Okay, this dude's different. I'm
all for it. I don't have a problem with it.
And good on Brett Bear for having the guts to
do it and.

Speaker 1 (01:04:18):
Not care having some fun and I mean, you know.

Speaker 5 (01:04:21):
What a novel concept. You're having a laugh at yourself, right,
and other people are laughing at so what. Yeah, but
we're in a society now that's absolutely daily and it'll
be dating that's baffling. The anger and hatred people have
towards somebody because they think different than them blows of
my mind.

Speaker 6 (01:04:38):
Well, I mean I learned a long time ago in
this business, Sean, that you're going to have people who
just want to dislike you just for the sake of
disliking you, and more often than not they do it
behind a keyboard, but then when you meet them in person,
then the compliments start to come out.

Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
It's weird how that happens.

Speaker 6 (01:04:54):
But next month, more than likely, I'm going to be
in Atlanta with Gordy for SEC Media days for the
All Star Game. And at every SEC media day is
Wednesday night, we find a local karaoke bar and go sing.

Speaker 1 (01:05:07):
By the way, have you.

Speaker 6 (01:05:08):
Ever heard Gordy as Shaggy in the song Shorty You're
My Angel?

Speaker 5 (01:05:13):
I have not heard him sing a song as Shaggy.

Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
It is.

Speaker 6 (01:05:17):
It's pretty spot on, so Gordy can carry the note
as Shaggy and like I got up there last year
and I sang Wave on Wave from Pat Green and
I mean, you know, if it's.

Speaker 1 (01:05:26):
Must really is, it really is.

Speaker 6 (01:05:30):
And it's also too I think the key whenever, you know,
for us not being professional singers, I think a lot
of times people they they they punch above their weight
when when they try to, you know, get up there.
If it's a song that has a lot of notes
in it, you know in terms of like you know,
having to hit the post on those notes and really
try to drive them home. Well, then it's not going

(01:05:52):
to come across all that great. But like for a
guy like me, probably my cadences country, So I usually
try to defer to country.

Speaker 5 (01:05:59):
There you go. I was thinking, what cut country cut
would they sing? And there's a lot of them that
I love. You know, what's the new you can go?
I was going to drive by what and going to stop.

Speaker 17 (01:06:09):
Then my out truck found of front Well, you know
the old Luke Brian new cut about Uh. I was gonna, well,
I was gonna drive what it said, but then a uh,
then a country song came on.

Speaker 5 (01:06:20):
You know that cut? My it's new. You probably haven't
heard it, have you. Then a country song came on
by Luke Bryan, maybe even though it's not country. Monday,
maybe triple You'll come back with that one. But one
of those, I'm with you. I could defer to country,
but I'll go a little you know, like bright Eyegirl,
little old school rock and roll at times as well,
you know, dancing in the moonlight. I'll throw some one

(01:06:43):
hit wonders on you in there. Oh yeah, exactly. So country,
you know your you know your uh, your place, like
you said, your genre, but day nothing wrong I love KaraOK.
I think it's hilarious.

Speaker 6 (01:06:54):
Well, it's also another way to be able to kind
of take the edge off is to pick a song
that you know that people are going to know and
sing along with a sweet caroline piano.

Speaker 1 (01:07:06):
Man, you never even called me.

Speaker 6 (01:07:08):
By my aim, John Cutt Elton, John, Yeah, I mean
anything that you can get the people that are there
at the venue just start joining with you. Then all
of a sudden, the pressure is off of you. You
are no longer you're the one with the microphone. Yes,
you're you're the one setting the tone. But if you're
able to somewhat be able to stay on key there,
then it's a hits.

Speaker 1 (01:07:28):
Everybody loved it. It's great. It fires the place up
and everybody is having a great time.

Speaker 5 (01:07:33):
Yeah. Well the sing along on the clap along, there's
no question about it. And when you can do that,
if you play a cut that's it's like everybody joins in.
You're exactly right, and immediately it falls onto the whole
group and you're kind of just letting them sing and
you're just joining them. Right, it's no longer just use solo.
So and then you can you know, if you're good
you get you get a go duet, you go collapse

(01:07:54):
with somebody. If there's a male and a female, you know,
you might want to go people Bryson and Regina Bell,
you don't know, you collabs, you might want to go
Landy Wilson and whoever else she's singing with. About eight
million of them are jelly roll, so there's all kinds
of CLOBs. I might think almost home too with Craig Morgan.
That's one of mine. That that that, but that's it's

(01:08:15):
kind of slow and sad, so that's not really an
upbeat karaoke cut. But that's a good cut. But you
gotta find that. The energy is important. You're exactly right.
Once you find one of those, you make me want
to shout, you know ye everybody gets into it, so
it just kind of depends. But bred Bear Brett Bear,
good on you, and good on you and Gordy for
going down there and making sure you sing. What do

(01:08:36):
you say the Wednesday before you said.

Speaker 6 (01:08:39):
It's It's it's the Wednesday Daring sec Media Days. It
started at a place called Gabriels in Hoover, Alabama that
is so smoke filled that whatever clothing you wear, plan
on never wearing it ever again because you won't.

Speaker 5 (01:08:52):
Right, it burns you gotta you gotta like throwing the trash.
Say okay, I'm done with this. This set time to
buy a new one. Yeah, cigarette smoke was set in brother.
Matter of fact, maybe you should sing with a grit
in your mouth. See if you pull that off.

Speaker 1 (01:09:03):
There you go, there you go.

Speaker 6 (01:09:05):
Haven't done that in a while, but might have to
break out the old school and another one too shown
that's a good to be able to get the crowd involved.

Speaker 1 (01:09:12):
Country Roads Sean Denver, Oh.

Speaker 5 (01:09:15):
No doubt, because you know the words sing along and
it's got good energy that falls under the that falls
under the seventh inning, stretching fen layer. What is it
the eighth inning or sick whatever it is. Yeah, sweet
care line. The sweet care line falls out of the
same thing where it kind of builds to a chriscendo
and it's pretty cool.

Speaker 6 (01:09:31):
Absolutely all right. You mentioned Nick Chubb earlier. Do you
want to get into that here? As the Texans expected
to sign the veteran running back today, what does it
mean for their overall offense? We'll talk about it here
as we get things continuing the role here on at
the Sean Salisbury show Sports Talk seven ninety. The seven
o'clock hour, seven ninety listener line is presented by one

(01:09:53):
eight hundred car Cash.

Speaker 5 (01:09:55):
I think this is one of the sneaky late signings
in you know, maybe it's not even sneaky. Maybe it's
as subtle as a punch to the face. This guy,
just two years ago was their beast in the backfield
and they're still been struggling with quarterbacks. He's had to
carry a load for a minute. This is a good
football player. Now again the injury how long? But this

(01:10:17):
is one of those things you're looking for some thump
and he's got it and mix and we already know
what physicality he brings to the table and then you
can limit put it this way, Kareem Hunt, Nick Chubb
good backfield and when they were in Cleveland together, what
would you rather have Nick Chubb and Joe Mixon or
the other one? Give me Nick Chubb and Joe Mixon. Okay,

(01:10:39):
And I do I think that this is a nice
change up pitch. Even though he's physical. This is a
guy you need to kill a clock with four or
five minutes ago, or you need a series or two
where Joe Mixon get rest Nick Chubb, and I would
imagine the only way you'd sign him is if you
knew he's healthy. I've watched his workouts, is he's gotten healthy,
and the way he bought jumps and the rest of it,

(01:11:01):
you should expect a physical I would say, closer to
Nick Chubb, the good Nick Chubb, than the guy who
was slowed down by injuries. If this happens, I freaking
love it. I do. I think it's a good get
and it strengthens the room, no doubt well.

Speaker 6 (01:11:17):
And it's also I mean what it does for not
only your chance to be able to have a physical
presence there in the run game, because we know what
Joe Mixon can bring. Like to see in a few
more passes caught by Joe Mixon out of the backfield
this year, and maybe that's something that Nick Kylee will
mix in a little bit more than Bobby Slow did
last year. But I mean, you also remember Sean Joe

(01:11:40):
Mixon a couple of times dealing with ankle injuries last season,
hip drop tackles, and I mean even into the playoffs,
it was a question of how healthy is this guy?
And we saw how important he was to the offense
to be able to have the run game going. I've
got to believe that that was a massive reason why
Nick Cayley was brought in. But b you want to

(01:12:00):
be able to prolong these guys as much as possible,
to give yourself a chance, because when you get to
the playoffs, Oh you don't run the football, you ain't
winning the game.

Speaker 5 (01:12:08):
Yeah. More, there's no doubt. You have to be physical
yet play defense. You got to run it. It still seems
so old school with all the different things we do offensively,
But if you can't do both of those and at
least one really well, then the other's got to be great.
You've got to do the other great. And if you
could do both well, that's a big thing. And I
can tell you this, if you're CJ. Stroud and you're

(01:12:30):
the offense and mixing's out. Let's say for a game,
Chubb can carry the ball thirty times, A healthy Nick
Chubb can wear you out, and you start to realize
that's their change up back. Nah, and you're more production,
which you want really for running backs is they start
to move along as you'd like, more production and less touches,
meaning can I get in twenty two touches or twenty

(01:12:52):
four when I normally would have to get thirty two
or thirty three with one player. You add both of
these guys. It's not like you have to turn around
if you're gay, start look at the backs and say,
oh my gosh. The gap between Mixon and the next
guy you know, no matter who it is, is quite
a distance. The gap between Mixon and a healthy Nick
Chubb ain't that big. More versatile is Joe Mixon. But

(01:13:13):
Nick Chubb's no child. Now he will he will bring it.
And you he's a football playing Jesse. This is a
I'm just telling you. It's almost as if he became
an afterthought Nick Chubb during this offseason. And here you
are in a position if he passes a physical and
it is good to go and they sign him. This
is a huge, huge, and underrated get for the Texans

(01:13:37):
in my opinion.

Speaker 6 (01:13:38):
Well, and that's something too that we can talk about here,
because I do agree with what you just said there
about what it can mean for that locker room, because
I feel like he compares to a Texans legend.

Speaker 1 (01:13:48):
And we'll talk about it right here.

Speaker 6 (01:13:50):
It is a Sean Salisbury show here on a Monday
Sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 1 (01:13:56):
The Shawn Salisbury Show continued.

Speaker 6 (01:14:01):
Seven one three, two, one two five, seven ninety is
the number to get in and Sean, you mentioned about
Nick Chubb's work ethic, which of course, I think most
of our audience knows that covered him and the Georgia
Bulldogs for a good amount of my career for ten
years there in the Atlanta area. And I can speak
to it because I mentioned that he compared to a

(01:14:22):
Texans legend. He's Andre Johnson. I mean remember when Andre
Johnson played. He was a guy that every once in
a while the emotion would come out on the field
and when you talked with them, you were like, who
is this guy?

Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
Like where does that come from?

Speaker 6 (01:14:36):
And Chubb is very much work first, speak very little
and let the work speak for itself. And that's something
that you continue. It's year three now, Damiko Ryans and
trying to enforce the culture in the building over there.
I mean we've seen with some of the moves they've
made this offseason, they're trying to cut down on the
pre snapt penalties and undisciplined things that got him beat

(01:14:58):
last year. And having a signing like this goes a
long way towards being able to make sure you're able
to accomplish those goals.

Speaker 5 (01:15:06):
Yeah, Chubb's always been a guy who's who doesn't have
to talk a lot, which I like you. Now every
team adds the guy who can talk it. Chubb's just
been a performer. And I'm just telling you this now.
What they're trying to do, let's call it fact. They're
trying to send a message to the league that we're
not a finesse offense, because that's exactly what they've been.

(01:15:26):
And when they're not finesse and you leaning on Joe Mixon,
there's not I mean, Joe's got wiggle and finesse, but
he will pound you. And they've started to send that
message when they brought Joe in, but the offensive line.
So now you add Chubb, another year of mix and
readjusting this offensive line to match the defense's physicality. A
defense gets after it will knock you around. There's nobody

(01:15:48):
around the league saying when you go play Houston physically
that you come out of there and you like laughing
at him or smirking because they're just defensively, they're finesse.
That's not true. They've got guys who can fly around
with it, I'll hit you, and the offense has to
match that intensity and the performance, but also has to
match the physicality because you can't. You have to have it.

(01:16:10):
The culture can't be half the team's physical and half
isn't it asks me, this is who we are. We
make enough finesse place, but one is on third and one.
There is no decision on what we're doing. We're gonna
line up and we're going to knock you right in
the face, unless, of course, it's time for we set
up play action because we've done it four or five times.
Get a guy in the flat and he runs for
fifty yards in a touchdown. They're sending a message. There's

(01:16:34):
nobody in the league that sees this. And all of
a sudden, Nick Chubb signs. You're saying, oh, they're trying
to be more finesse offensively. Not the case. They're trying
to line up punch you in the mouth. Pad be
a team that likes to run it and wear you
out at the Lion scrims with a quarterback who's a
Pro Bowl caliber player, and that they can finesse you
when necessary. So once the physicality matches the defense, you'll

(01:16:55):
get it. And Nick Chubb fits that. I mean, like
I said, he can get to the second there and
make some long runs. But at the point of attack,
if you're going to come up and plan your heels here,
you're you're making a major mistake. So this is a team.
Let's face they have been a physical defense and they're
getting more physical by the year with the right bodies.
With the Texans defense, they missed out on being physical

(01:17:16):
last year. They were finesse to the fullest, from the
tight end not being able to block to the offensive
line pre snap penalties, to not being able to push
people around. Hell, the most physical person on the offense
was a guy lined up behind the offensive line in
Joe Mixon and Nico Collins is as physical as anybody
on that offense, even at wide receiver they're not playing.
And if Nick Chubb's part of this team, it's another

(01:17:38):
loud message that you almost have to send a message
to your own players as well. We're doing it this way.
We didn't bring in a scat back to come in
and catch the ball on third down. We brought it
a thumper and Chubbs that guy I hope it gets done,
because I think this is one that the Demico Ryans
and that offense, his team's offense would would really like.

(01:18:01):
And a guy you can rely on that has the
similar I mean, while they're different, but while their ability
on field to wear you out coming downhill, that's exactly
who Nick Chubb is well.

Speaker 6 (01:18:12):
And I think a couple of other things here that one,
he's not afraid the past protect I mean, he has
shown numerous times that he is willing to do that,
and he's going to be physical with you. And again,
I mean, you know, you got to get back to
the work ethic part of it. He's one of those
guys that I mean, he'll do the weightlifting with the team,
But then it's also, oh he's lifting before practice, he's

(01:18:32):
lifting after practice, like he's he's somebody that if he's
known as anything, it's oh where's Nick.

Speaker 1 (01:18:41):
Oh he's in the weight room, Like that's where you
find that guy.

Speaker 5 (01:18:43):
Yeah, he's not a minimum guy where you do the
minimum thing and get by like a lot of people are.
Let me just get the minimum in. He's a maximum guy.
Let me do that and then let me do the
lonely work. It takes. Gives me an extra advantage in
coming off an injury. He's had to, absolutely had to,
so it'll permeate through the building because you don't want

(01:19:05):
to be the guy that lefts people down because you
weren't a part of the physical nature that this team
and the culture is trying to build. I say it
all the time. I don't know when I see finesse
teams win championships. Show me somebody proved to me that
finesse teams win championships at most levels. They just don't.

(01:19:26):
And when in baseball he said, well, Sean, how can
you be physical? Well, you played defense and pitching is
what we consider the equivalent to playing defense and running
the football in football compared to baseball and in basketball
and in hockey. We know what that is. Knocking people around,
your goaltender standing on his head in basketball, that you're
getting to the offensive backboards, you're not giving anybody easy ones,

(01:19:46):
and you're going to make sure they understand when they
come to the lane. It's different. You don't get freeb's here,
and that's going to be the same with the Texans.
There will be there will be no team that Waltz
is in here saying, oh, we're playing a finesse team,
But there are plenty of them to send a different message.
But the message here is that's who it is, and
he's a He's been a great example of just how

(01:20:07):
to work. And it's one thing to work hard and
still not be an efficient player. There's plenty of those
guys that work hard and just don't know are not
great at their craft. They may get by this dude
when he's healthy. Is is A is A like I said,
a football playing Jesse, he just is. And make no mistake,
he ain't bring in finesse to the game. And you

(01:20:28):
talk about pass protection. Show me a physical back that
doesn't want to protect the quarterback in the past game
that and I'll show a guy who you can't consider
physical mix. It'll come up and knock you around. But
when I play with Marcus aund he hits you in
the face. Now, you want a guy who can run
the football, But if you can get both, there's a
big So now it's a three down back. I don't
have to pull a guy out because on third and seven,

(01:20:50):
I know he doesn't want to protect or doesn't understand
the concept of protection. These two backs in that backfield.
There is no weakness on making sure you thump the
line who's coming in. It's the free runner and that's
your guy. Hell, sometimes you might want to pity the linebacker.
He I mean when it comes to Mixing and Nick
Cubb that those two guys are going to give those

(01:21:11):
linebackers are strong safety. Whoever their blitz pickup is or
just their normal protection, They're going to give their guys plenty.
You don't want to see those guys both are you
know you're talking. Chubb's gotta be to twenty five, gotta be.
We know Mixing is that big and they're they're packing it.
I love teams that send the physical message before they

(01:21:31):
even step on the field. This team's doing it offensively
and it needs to continue.

Speaker 6 (01:21:35):
It's great to see for sure. Definitely on board with
the signing. All right, So it is at that time
of the week, every single week at eight am, we
catch up with Steve Sparks of the Astros Radio Network.
Are going to do that right here. It is the
Shawn Salisbury Show, Sports Talk seven to ninety.

Speaker 14 (01:21:53):
KB Houston ADHD two Houston, an iHeart radio station.

Speaker 5 (01:21:57):
The Astros Rockets.

Speaker 9 (01:22:00):
Rockets your home for your home teams.

Speaker 3 (01:22:04):
This is Sports Talk seven.

Speaker 15 (01:22:06):
Ninety from the Parsons Imagine Next Studios, Saulsby, Okay, let's
do this.

Speaker 9 (01:22:20):
Sewan Salisbury USC troupe, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 2 (01:22:26):
Dan Matthew, excuse this is the Seawan Salisbury Show.

Speaker 5 (01:22:35):
Steve, welcome in. And who the hell is Brandon Walter?
I mean I'm being a little bit facetious, but can
he sustain? Can he sustain what we've seen a couple
times already?

Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
Who the hell is Shawn Salisbury?

Speaker 5 (01:22:50):
I thought somebody who's you know what, you'll appreciate it.
You know of Pebble Beach, Cyprus Point, what spy glass us,
Monterey Peninsula, first vacation eight years man, So there you go.
You thought you thought I just up and you know,
decided to walk away from it all. I've had it
done at eight O'clock's too tough on me.

Speaker 3 (01:23:13):
Donate ten dozen golf balls instead?

Speaker 5 (01:23:16):
Uh? Well, why you cheat me out of my other four?
Does it?

Speaker 3 (01:23:19):
So?

Speaker 5 (01:23:19):
Yes, good time. Here's the problem. On the tough holes.
You know, those iconic ones. I played pretty well. It's
that ball that you hit to the middle of the fairway.
You say, well, this would be good. Then you chili
dip and take a six. Yeah, there you go, buddy.
You know how that goes? Well, maybe you don't, but
I actually do. So there's a few balls done. There's
a few balls that are sitting down there on some
seals nosed in Modera at the just below, just below

(01:23:41):
it Ciphers's tree, I assure you. But it was a
memorable at a phenomenal trip and one that I'll never forget.
So it was awesome. Well see, let's go there. Yeah, man,
you'll I mean, I'm sure you played there, but you'll
appreciate it was awesome. It was a great times with
great friends and great weather while we were there too.
What is can he sustain this? Steven? Is this a

(01:24:03):
regular rotation guy?

Speaker 12 (01:24:04):
Now?

Speaker 13 (01:24:05):
Well, as they go to a six man rotation. He's
certainly a very nice option. I mean, he's pitched great
in both the outings so far. Talking about Brandon Walter,
the left, the Astros you know, kind of targeted him
last year. They got him with a month or two
left in the season of the minor league season, thinking about, you.

Speaker 3 (01:24:24):
Know what he might be able to bring to the
table this year.

Speaker 13 (01:24:27):
And certainly he's probably exceeded expectations, but he was a
former pitcher of the Year in the minor leagues with
the Red Sox at one point, so not totally you know,
out of the dark being able to identify somebody like this,
But who identifies pitchers like this better than the Astros
Stephen Oker, even Brian King, Guys like.

Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
That that they've been able to get into the fold
and pitch so well and be able able to recognize what.

Speaker 13 (01:24:53):
They do best and get those guys to kind of
double down on those things. But he's right thrower. You
know the Astros rookies, both rookies that they started games
on that last road tip. No walks between either of them,
So you love that go out there and attack guys
and keep this train rolling as far as the Astros

(01:25:15):
pitching staff goes. But Brandon Walter definitely is the Astros
go to a sixth man with the thirteen games in
a row starting starting tomorrow, He's in the mix for sure.

Speaker 5 (01:25:26):
Steve and I've talked to Dan Brown about this, and
I don't know if I've mentioned it to you. Maybe
I have at the beginning when when the season just started.
But you think about Bregman and Tucker gone, all the
pitching injuries they've had to deal with over the last
couple of years and this year, and then your Don's
you know situation. I mean, you just look at everything

(01:25:46):
that's gone on and their top hitters, Paine has been
playing great baseball, Paradus has been has been a really
really pleasant having here. I don't say surprise, but pleasant.
And Jake Myers is hovering around three hundred. Those been
your three best hitters. If I told you all that
was going to be the case and they were going
to be two and a half three games up at
this point, I'm not sure we'd have bought into that

(01:26:08):
right now, Steve, would.

Speaker 18 (01:26:09):
You No, I don't think so, especially going I think
there's six games about five hundred since Jordon got hurt, right,
And they did the same thing.

Speaker 13 (01:26:19):
Last year when they went fifteen games better than five
hundred with Tucker out.

Speaker 3 (01:26:25):
You know, they've just got a.

Speaker 8 (01:26:26):
Great ability to step up and kind of pick up
the slack when guys go down, and especially when you're
talking about Tucker or jord On, you know, guys being
keys to their success offensively.

Speaker 13 (01:26:40):
Now, have they been a great offensive team, No, But
you can certainly anticipate Yiner and Christian Walker and Al
Tube and some of these other guys to start swinging
the bats better.

Speaker 3 (01:26:52):
You know, second half of the season, you would expect
those guys to be more in line with what they've
done in the past. So offensively, I think this team
is much better than they've done so.

Speaker 13 (01:27:02):
Far, and they're going to get a lot of reinforcements
in the pitching staff as well. So if you're starting
to think, you know, these guys are gonna wear down,
you know, if things go right, and I don't want
to start naming guys often when they're going to be
able to get.

Speaker 3 (01:27:18):
Back, but there's four or five guys that are waiting
in the wings.

Speaker 13 (01:27:22):
You know, if they get healthy and they don't have
any more setbacks, the Astros are going to have a nice,
nice little infusion in the second half of the season.

Speaker 5 (01:27:30):
Steve, you'd be the person to ask about this. We
mentioned about they just like with Tucker out and they
elevate their game Yard on out, elevate your game, and
you say, how do you continue to do this? So
I'm going to ask you why why are they so
good at this?

Speaker 3 (01:27:47):
Well?

Speaker 13 (01:27:47):
I think this year it's because their pitching keeps them
in every single game. And we were talking member Sean
coming out of spring training, how are they going to
get to Taylor Scott, Brian Embray, you and Josh Hater,
how are they going to get there?

Speaker 3 (01:28:02):
We just had so many unknowns.

Speaker 13 (01:28:05):
Steven Oker, who's been phenomenal this year for the Astros,
was bad last year with Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (01:28:11):
How did they identify that?

Speaker 13 (01:28:12):
I just don't get how they're able to see something
in guys that other teams don't. And I think that's
kind of the secret sauce to what the Astros do,
maybe better than anybody else, especially on the pitching side.
So it's been pitching the reason why the Astros have
been able to keep their heads above water. I think
in the last couple of years, even Kokuchie, you know,

(01:28:34):
being able to identify him instead of throwing.

Speaker 3 (01:28:37):
His slider to the glove side last year, throw it
to the armside.

Speaker 13 (01:28:40):
Who would have come up with that, been able to
recognize that if you just changed the side of the
plate you're throwing your breaking ball, things will open up.
And that's exactly what happened, you know, And he was
phenomenal for the Astros.

Speaker 3 (01:28:50):
Last year and people were up in arms with what
the Astros gave up.

Speaker 13 (01:28:54):
But the Astros got into the playoffs because of Kokuchie
last year, and they had a chance, you know, to
go deep in the play again, but they just ran
into Tarrett's gooogle and a hot Tigers.

Speaker 3 (01:29:03):
Team and in a three game series, you just never know.

Speaker 13 (01:29:05):
So continue to give themselves chances because they pitched so well.

Speaker 5 (01:29:11):
Pass those. Broadcaster Steve Smith for his normal Monday eight
o'clock weekly visit, great to be on with him. Steve. Also,
people that have been in front offices, We've had some
really good in the scouting department, in the development department.
This is an organization that gets it right. From Jim
Crane right on down. Dana Brown's done a hell of
a job doing what he really worried to cut his

(01:29:31):
teeth on. Is that is evaluating talent. And they seemed
to Kakuchie a part of it. They seem to have
a great knack, and so does he. We were asked earlier,
can he be considered as this continues with all that's
gone on, as a GM of the year type of guy,
and I think an executive of the year. And the
answer is yes, right, Steve, the way he is identified

(01:29:53):
and like you mentioned Kakuchi after he was struggling in
Toronto to come here and turn it around. He and
that scouting staff, but he's also a big part of
it because that is his strength.

Speaker 13 (01:30:03):
Hey, that's why they hired him, you know, there's a
big reason. You know, Dana Brown had a great track
record as a scout, has been in the game for
thirty years. So the experience and I think the communication
skills for Dana with the players too, I think is
a little underrated because he's the type of guy who
is a former player who's able to go down there
and speak the language.

Speaker 3 (01:30:24):
You know.

Speaker 13 (01:30:24):
That's so important to be able to speak to these
guys on the same.

Speaker 3 (01:30:28):
Level, you know, and be real with them and look
them in the eye.

Speaker 13 (01:30:32):
And say, hey, you know, this is our expectations and
be real so and that's what players appreciate more than anything.
So I think he's got a lot of great attributions.

Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
He can. He can kind of turn things in.

Speaker 13 (01:30:47):
The astros favor as far as what they've been able
to do for the last ten years, and that's identify players,
develop trade wisely, do things of that nature. And let's
not under state some of the guys that are in
the periphery. You know, with his assistant GMS, he's got
guys in the front office that go out there and

(01:31:07):
help identify some of this talent in But he'll pulls
the trigger man.

Speaker 3 (01:31:13):
He's not afraid and I love that in it.

Speaker 5 (01:31:15):
Do you think it'll be an active team as we
pushed in the trade deadline? Steve a very active kind
of lukewarm? What do you think that where we stand now,
let's assume that this is who they are, how active
would you expect them to be?

Speaker 13 (01:31:29):
Well, let me ask you, what do you think they
need right now? I mean, other than getting jord On healthy.

Speaker 5 (01:31:34):
Power back back in the light up would be great,
but that's all's ability to get back in.

Speaker 13 (01:31:40):
Yeah, and continue to keep the balance in the line up.
As far as having a lefi, it's so nice having Melting.

Speaker 3 (01:31:46):
In there and care team when they're in there to
give them a little bit balance.

Speaker 13 (01:31:52):
And you watch some of these teams arrange their their
pitching staffs and get ready for the ashes because they're
so right handed heavy, so it's it's nice having another
lefty in there. So I don't know, they've got capital,
but there probably would have to trade from their major
league roster to be able to get somebody that's really
going to impact this team. So I don't know how

(01:32:13):
willing they are to do that. I think they're probably
pretty happy with where they are right now. I think
they can probably be patient to see how these guys
come along as far as the pitching guys, and I'm
talking about Louis Garcia, Christian Javier, JP France. Probably missing somebody,
but they're going to get some dudes back, and I

(01:32:33):
think this team's gonna be pretty strong and healthy and
fresh as.

Speaker 3 (01:32:38):
We go toward the second half of the season.

Speaker 5 (01:32:41):
Steve sparked for a couple more minutes here on Sports
Talk seven ninety for his weekly visit, Steve, it's not
for lack of commitment and the grind, you know, Forest
Whitley moving on. Feel bad for him, you know, But sometimes, Steve,
I've been in the situation you have to or sometimes
to change the scenery for both sides, and we're at

(01:33:01):
that stage. It just didn't work here for a lot
of reasons. But I root for the kid, and I
hope it works out, and it feels like he's been
here to fifteen years, and but the Astros have exhausted.
I mean they have given every opportunity for this to work,
and unfortunately, didn't you know they needed to make a
move for Walter and to give him to be able
to get him to start. So do you see for Swhetley?

(01:33:23):
And I know you root for him too as well, Steve,
Is there any way a change of scenery can help?
I think?

Speaker 3 (01:33:30):
So?

Speaker 13 (01:33:30):
You know, he still may be with the Ashros when
everything said that he clears Waivers, might be outright at
the Triple A at that point, but you know, I
can't imagine other teams not wanting to take a chance.

Speaker 3 (01:33:43):
On somebody that throws as hard as him, has his
sharper breakings up.

Speaker 13 (01:33:47):
He might have the best stuff on the team. I'll
be honest with you. I mean he's electric, but it's
a situation. Former first rounder, a lot of expectations, especially
coming out of high school.

Speaker 3 (01:33:59):
Mark A.

Speaker 13 (01:33:59):
Pelle kind of similar probably fell into that with the
Astros organization. I have no idea what that's like, to
be honest with you. I never had those types of
expectations coming through the organization that I came through. So
those guys put a lot on themselves, I would imagine,
and just to stay healthy was tough for for us

(01:34:20):
for such.

Speaker 3 (01:34:20):
A long time.

Speaker 13 (01:34:22):
To realize his dream and make it to the major
leagues with the Astros. I know it was big for
him last year, but I'm with you. I wish you
nothing but the best. If he remains at the Astros,
I think it's good for Houston. But at the same time,
he may just need a fresh start somewhere.

Speaker 5 (01:34:38):
Else, and that sometimes that works out and guys find
themselves and get their confidence back and stay healthy. See,
let me let me finish with this. What's from We're
gonna be worth you know, rather it's here, whether it's
who's paying it not, that's not the point. Where is
he right now? On worth and price and what it's

(01:34:58):
going to look like when this comes to fruition.

Speaker 13 (01:35:03):
Well, it's been documented, you know, there was a pretty
pricey off.

Speaker 3 (01:35:09):
Season left hander that signed last off season.

Speaker 13 (01:35:12):
Yeah, and probably copying Promber to anybody else For me,
I mean, he's just so strong.

Speaker 3 (01:35:18):
And reliable and healthy. I think the world of him.
I just think he's he's very valuable. He's worth a
lot to the Astros as a free agent.

Speaker 13 (01:35:33):
I just I just don't know how much money you
can invest in a starting pitcher these days. It's just
hard for me to imagine really going out there for
a big, long term term contract for anybody because of
all the injuries. But that being said, he has been
healthy and you look at him. He is broad and strong,

(01:35:55):
and he's a nightmare when you think about matching up.
When he's on top of his game, he can beat anybody.
I think he's as good as anybody when he's on
top of his game. So he's worth a lot, and
he's going to get paid a lot. I don't know
who's going to be willing to go out there and
give him that extra year, the extra two years to

(01:36:16):
get him over the line. But right now the Astros
are lucky to have him.

Speaker 3 (01:36:21):
He's one of the best.

Speaker 13 (01:36:22):
In my eyes, is certainly one of the best left
handers in all of baseball. And I think the Astros
won two punch of Hunter Brown or from about that
matches up as well as anybody's one two punch of baseball.

Speaker 5 (01:36:34):
Agreed one hundred percent, real quick, Steve about that. Are
we to the point you know his emotions have got it?
I mean we've seen that. We've talked about it in
the past. Are we to the point now where his
emotional toughness is matching his stuff? Are we close? Have
you seen him developing that better than he was, say
two to three years ago, or even at times last year.

Speaker 13 (01:36:54):
Yeah, I think there was a little bit of an
adjustment with the pitchclock because I think he liked to
go behind the mound. He was starting to lose control
of his emotions and take a breather and look somewhere
in the stadium to try to, you know, kind of
reset and get back up there and take his time.
But I think he's found a kind of a rhythm
to that now where pitchers can shake to the pitch

(01:37:15):
they want, even when they're not on top of the rubber.
Like they can start walking behind the mound now while
the catcher's giving them signs.

Speaker 3 (01:37:22):
And they can shake no, no a couple of times
before he.

Speaker 13 (01:37:25):
Starts to walk back up on top of the rubber
and maybe with three seconds, you're going, man, he's not
going to get this pitch off.

Speaker 3 (01:37:31):
He's already in his wind up.

Speaker 13 (01:37:32):
But by the time it clicks to one second, so
they can run the clock down and kind of reset,
and I think for him taking those big, deep breaths
and understanding the you know, sometimes the gravity of the moment,
it allows him a little extra time because of what
he does and how he's timed things out now getting
used to the pitch clock, and I think it took
a little bit of adjustment. I think it took a

(01:37:54):
full year and a half for him to get things
set as far as that goes. But man, we're just
talking about somebody who can get a double play in
the blink of an eye. You look at all the
pitchers who lead the the big leagues in innings pitched.
He's always at the top of the list. I think
schemes just flip flopped with him with his outing yesterday,

(01:38:15):
but Farmber will go ahead of him again and his
next one innings pitch man is so big with Hunter
Brown and Farmber being split up in the rotation right now,
and to be able to almost reset the bullpen every
time that they pitch is just such a nice feeling.

Speaker 7 (01:38:32):
For a manager.

Speaker 5 (01:38:34):
Nothing better than old school work horse innings man and
then being real good, no doubt, what a grinder. Steve
good to be back on with your brother. I look
forward to it and I sure appreciate your mondays with
this as always, my man, Thank you, thanks Sewan, Take
care man. I appreciate you too, buddy. One of these
days Steve and I will go play golf together and

(01:38:55):
I can tell him just how many balls I hit
into the ocean. We'll come back. This us what Steve
was talking about and the price tag on fromber and
these astros over exceed they are they exceeding your expectations, Dan,
and I'll talk about that as well. Next it's Sports
Talk seven ninety. Stay along for the ride. Hey, do
you spend your summer vacation? You plan for it right? Well,

do your summer vacation? Is retirement or do you think, ah,
that's a long ways away?

Speaker 16 (01:39:31):
Is it?

Speaker 5 (01:39:32):
Maybe it is? But starting now? I mean you read
people that are in the financial industry and talk to them,
listen to them, and Trason Wells know different when it
comes to their approach to this. Isn't always better to
start sooner then you don't have to worry about it.
It's like like winning in September in Pro sports or
college sports gives you a chance later in the season
to be able to afford a loss and still be

(01:39:55):
in the mix. Well with retirement, it may hit different.
If you wait till the very end before a day

Speaker 1 (01:41:34):
Back to it. Ah Down Pray on juice, Bring the juice,
Let's go. The Sean Salsbury Show.

Speaker 15 (01:41:41):
Continues most definitely on Sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 6 (01:41:46):
Well, it is the high school for the Thomas children
and Matt Thomas's daughter Carly still plays volleyball at Kingwood.

Speaker 5 (01:41:55):
High Awesome, congrats to Kingwood, Texas is loaded with great
base so that's a good thing.

Speaker 1 (01:42:01):
Absolutely absolutely, it was a fun weekend in Austin, no
doubt about it.

Speaker 6 (01:42:06):
Sean, you mentioned it about Fromber. We talked about it
last week while you're out, Me and Ari Alexander did
just how good he's been. I believe it's his last
five starts out that he's gone no less than a
quality outing. I mean, you want to talk about putting
together good performances and a potential walk year for you
and making that price continue to go up. Well, Fromber

(01:42:27):
is absolutely making that case.

Speaker 5 (01:42:29):
Yeah, there's no doubt. And the truth is since he's
been here, now, he's had his moments. There's no question
where people have questioned the mental You know how tough
he is and can he handle getting sideways and early
in his career here were people talk about his stuff
all the time. And then he started to get better
at that where it didn't fester and it was it
was a shorter period of time in between rough things

(01:42:51):
that happened for him to recover, start off them, go
through an any where you're struggling to get out of it, Okay.
Then he got better and better and better, and we've
seen it creep in at times. That's natural and in truth,
the trade off is pretty impressive because he's a workhorse.
He logs a lot and he's always has. He's healthy,
he induces a lot of ground balls, he keeps the

(01:43:12):
ball in the ballpark for the most part. He's an
ace and he's left handed. He is you talk about building,
Steve mentioned well, the money that continues to you know,
every single time he goes out there and starts, there's
somebody else like, okay, how how do you do it?
In the starting pitching invests the kind of money that
is probably going to be needed to uh end years

(01:43:33):
to get him in free agency, whether it's for the
Astros or somebody else. So listen, we want perfection. You
don't get that, you know, often from anybody. But he's
excellent and that's the next best thing when you're shooting
for perfections, to be excellent, and he really is. And
we have talked about it. Well, you take Hunter Brown
over Fromer and maybe he's still people because of them.

(01:43:53):
You know, there's a there's a maybe a different uh
you know, it shifts your paradigms because I think we
all think Hunter Brown's got a different set of toughness
skill above a lot of pitchers in this league. But
one two, I've said it on this show, who's better.
I mean, he's in there. They're in the team picture
for one team, especially if you go lefty righty, they

(01:44:15):
are in it. And fromber has pitched, he has done
what you'd expect if you let's put him on another
franchise and do what he's done these last handful of years.
People are raving about him there too. So while his
one weakness has been, you know, getting over that stuff
that doesn't go the way you want it to, but
he doesn't go through those situations. He gets people out

(01:44:37):
pitch as well. He'll have him and he's had a
couple of them this year. But for the most part,
you know, you you know, you're gonna log your starts,
you're gonna log your innings, and you're gonna win games.
And he's always going to be a cy young type candidate,
especially if he's on a good team like the Astros,
even with all their changes. Yeah, he's going to get paid.
I don't know what it's going to be or where

(01:44:58):
it's going to be, but it's going to be a lot.
He's premium man and he is at the top of
his class. You heard John Smoltz raving about him and
Hunter Brown both, so the people in the know, Steve sparks.
This is about as you know from from there's not
many on that to take the toe, that rubber that
start that are better than him. He's in. He's in

(01:45:18):
that overall team photo and he's pretty damn good and
it's going to command a lot of pay, especially if
he continues to stay healthy, log these innings and keep
getting wins and opportunities and post in every single fifth
or sixth day for the Astros from Ravaldez is going
to get paid, whether it's here somewhere else. He's been spectacular.

Speaker 6 (01:45:35):
Yeah, he's been unreal, especially as of late four and
one in his last six starts is from Ravaldez. So
you send him out there. He gives you a chance
to win. That's all you can ask for one of
the guys. Though that spark he did mention about him
not going anywhere. We'll discuss right here as we continue
the Astros conversation. Seven one three, two, one two five

(01:45:55):
seven ninety is the number two jump aboard as we
continue to roll along here Sean Salisbury Show Sports Talk
seven to ninety.

Speaker 1 (01:46:02):
The seven to ninety.

Speaker 6 (01:46:03):
Listener line in the eight o'clock hour is presented by
one eight hundred car Cash to earn runs on the bow,
Naylor to run Homer. But aside from that's a really
good outing out of the veteran lefty that hast had
a ton of major league time, but has been able
to make a couple of starts this year with the
Astros five innings against the Rays on the road, able

(01:46:23):
to hold them scoreless and then only giving up two yesterday.
With the Astros looking for pitching outside of guys not
named fromber Valdez in Hunter Brown and to a lesser degree,
Lance mccullors Junior, I think it's pretty safe to say
that Brandon Walter stays, wouldn't you.

Speaker 5 (01:46:40):
Oh, I don't think there's any question, you know, with
the way he's pitched. And remember at one point, and
Steve had mentioned I knew who he was because he
was in the Red Sox organization, obviously, but I didn't
know that much about it, and I didn't know that
much about him. I know he'd come highly regarded there,
and here he is now and the big old sweeper

(01:47:02):
and he's really good, but I didn't know. God, I
put it this way, do you think a month ago
on your Bengo card you had him coming in and
playing a key role. No, absolutely not. That's another another
part of what the Astros do as well, if not
better than anybody in this league not only develop it,

(01:47:23):
but also know it, see it and can see stuff
that others can't see. And here you talk about you
know what Steve kept mentioning in the six man rotation.
He gives you that arm that's so important. So I
do seeing this, If this, if this performance continues, why
wouldn't it. Remember, isn't some guy who just you you know,
fell off a turn up truck and we said, oh, man, okay,

(01:47:44):
let's hope he's good. This is a guy who was
a highly regarded pitcher and now here is I think,
what's what's he in late twenties, twenty seven, twenty eight,
somewhere in there? Yep, okay, you get you get a
guy who's still you know, sub thirty on the south
side of it, and who's coming and done a hell
of a job and his in you know, in his
first two go rounds with him. So if it continues, yeah,

(01:48:05):
one hundred percent. I mean think about and depending on
if he clears waivers and forced Whitley, but think about
what they had to do to get him this right,
get rid of a guy you've invested a lot of
time money in. So it is h he's been impressive,
and I wouldn't if you just said, hey, Seawan, do
you realize you're going to be talking about him in June?
I said, are we well? Here we are and there

(01:48:26):
are there are a handful of guys on this roster
we're talking about in the right way that you would
have told me, Jake Meyer sitting three hundred, there's no
way we're going to talk about that. You know, you
talk about bullpen and guys that have struggled last year
that are now you know at other places that are
pitching well here, it's it's impressive and it's just another
guy who comes in here and it's like, okay, here's

(01:48:47):
how we do things different. But he's also got some skills.
So I'm with you. If this continues, there's no doubt
there's a spot on this roster for him, whether it's
you know, coming out of the bullpen, being in the
six man rotation. What happens when you get back to
five man in some of these other pitching bodies get healthy,
You're you're not getting rid of success. If the success continues,
and he continues to pitch, well, you will find room

(01:49:09):
for him.

Speaker 6 (01:49:10):
Yeah, Walter is twenty eight. I aged him, he'll turn
twenty nine in September. But still, I mean, you know, Sean,
this just also points to what we've talked about with say,
guys like Ryan Gusto, who he's been out there, He's
done some good things for you this year. Let's not
you know, be shortsighted on that, but when it comes

(01:49:30):
to him as a starting pitcher, you're not being able
to count on him for much more than four innings
right now. And that's something that another way that Walter
can be able to factor in and help out this
team is somebody that you believe you can count on
again that are not named Fromer Hunter or Lance mccullors Junior.

Speaker 5 (01:49:49):
It's exactly right. In order to sustain what you're gonna
want to have to do and get where you want
to go, it is going to have to be guys
like him. Those guys go they're only two fifths or
two six when it happens, So you're gonna have to
have other guys do what they're doing. And it may
be it may be by a committee, it may be okay,
he's getting, you know here in the six man rotation
or come back and then you get a body healthy

(01:50:11):
and then somebody else moves here. But isn't that the way?
Don't you have to mix and match. You go through
teams every year. This guy's hurt, all that guy's out.
We just said, lost that guy to free agency. Here's
a minor league. We didn't expect to come up loom.
It happens, but there's nobody that identifies it better than
this team and Dan for this with with all the
change and the injuries, it can't just be the same

(01:50:34):
guys that are the only ones taking care of their business.
And that has not been the case this year. It's
been some other guys that have taken care of their business,
and quite frankly, the other guys have been just as
impressive at times. I'm not just you know, Sans Fromber
and Hunter Brown, but the other guys in parts of
the rotation and obviously Bulpen, but in your everyday players

(01:50:55):
have been doing been doing their jobs and then some
and it's good to see. It's good to see because
at some point in time they are going to get
healthier pitching wise, even with the way they've pitched, the
bullpen will gain obviously more depth, and they're going to
get Jordan back and they're gonna get you know, they're

(01:51:16):
they're going to get al to Ve hot again. And
at some point in time, you'd think that Christian Walker
will go on a home run barrage. You'd like to
think so. So with the way it is, we have
not seen the best of the Astros yet this year.
Far from it, especially offensively, So that's what you're looking for.
But pitching like he pitched, and the way the bullpen
has and when Fromber and Hunter go out to the mountain,

(01:51:38):
you're getting every single time a chance and then that
all you can hope for. And then you got to
get the clutch in. But they have a chance every
time they go out to be in it. And that's
hard to say with other guys that aren't considered from
ber Valdez and Hunter Brown, with those guys, it's a
no brainer. But the other guys have to continue to
do this.

Speaker 6 (01:51:56):
Strong words from one Sean Salisbury. Some would even say
and Seawan, you know you did deliver something before the
season got going that now is starting to pay off
and be good news. So Hopefully both of those things
hit for the Astros. We'll discuss that right here as
we continue on the Seawan Salisbury Show. Here on a
Monday morning, let's go, this is the Sean Salisbury Show.

(01:52:23):
It's not going to be one guy having a career year.
You've got to have at least two guys having a
career year. And we've talked about the struggles of some
of the guys in the middle of the lineup. You'd
like to see Christian Walker get going. You'd like to
see jose Al two baby, the jose Al Twovey that
we've become accustomed to, and even in some parts Yin
or Diaz the same deal. But where would this offense

(01:52:44):
be right now without Jeremy Paania at the top of
the order, and then the guy who got four hits
yesterday for you, Jake Myers out in center field.

Speaker 5 (01:52:52):
Well, they'd be reeling, it would be, and they be dangerous.
I mean, the pain has been fantastic. I'm not telling
anybody anything they don't know, but it's just been a
combination of everything for him, from his energy out of
the box, running bases. I know it sounds good, there's
just a different energy and think about how long have
we had altwo ve etchton Stone at the top of

(01:53:15):
the order. That takes guts to make that move right
very much left field, move him around. When a guy's
been comfortable and successful for quite some time there since
Springer left, he's been really good and to say, okay,
we need to get it different. Something needs to change.
You're stuck. You put more emphasis on him, more pressure
on him, and he's responded. But it shouldn't surprise us

(01:53:38):
why as a rookie in the ALCS, I mean his
whole season, but replacing Korea pressure enough ALCS MVP, World
Series MVP. When you see those things happen. There's certain
guys who elevate during pressure, and other guys who are
practice field or spring training or you know games where

(01:54:00):
the games out of hand to all Americans where they
play their best when there's really no heat on those
guys who exist, they exist everywhere. Then there's guys who
play better when their addists asked to do more, more
pressure on them, more pressure situations, and everything about this
says Jeremy Paenis is shouldered far more pressure this year, responsibility,

(01:54:24):
and he's doing it. I mean every single day. That's one.
Jake Myers, come on, man, if he hit two fifty
this year, you'd have done somersaults. The guys sitting over
three hundred. And I asked Dany Brown, if you know
we have talked about sustainability with this, Well, I don't
know if he can hit three hundred, but if we
can get him the two forty, Steve Sparks even said,
I'll take him a two hundred with the way he

(01:54:45):
plays defense. The guys hitting what I think as of
yesterday three hundred three zero three somewhere in there. Two yeah,
he's raking. So yeah. And those two. Now, think about this,
if those two, if it does come to fruition where
they do have career years, just say those two that
those two at some point in time, statistics and just

(01:55:06):
the sheer history of the position of this team when
you're on god forbid any other injuries. He is going
to he is going to get to a point where
he punishes pitching. Al Tubay will get on that roll.
We saw it for a minute there where the beginning
of the year, and for a minute when he got
hot again where you hit a handful of home runs

(01:55:28):
and bunches. It's going to happen. So and the two
guys that we expect to pain in your career year
because we think we're going to see more of those,
and did his best baseball still in front of him.
But this is not we expect from Jake Myers. But
isn't that the sign of a team who takes accountability
and responsibility. That guy's out, that guy's out, that guy's
not performing well, that guy's not nobody had expectations of me.

(01:55:51):
Imagine if Jake Myers, let's use him as an example.
Imagine if he believed everything we said. Imagine it as
a hitter, the elite center fielder. Imagine if he listened,
not just I'm talking about the whole baseball world, let
alone locally people like Jake. But people have tried to
move Jake out of starting center field for day. We

(01:56:12):
all are guilty of that. Now can he sustain it?
We're seventy games in or whatever it is, you know,
high sixties. Who knows, But I can tell you this
that if he'd have believed everything everybody was saying about
him at the plate, you can't hit three to zero two,
you can't. What he's done is taking it and used
his advantage and said, you know, I'm better than what

(01:56:32):
I've been. Now he's got a full you know, a
bunch of games less one hundred board games or whatever
it is to do that and then to sustain this.
But you get two career years out of those cats
and then all of a sudden, Diaz and out to
they and getting yord On in and cam Smith continues
to develop paradus plays I is. Now we're looking at
something different, and now this team elevates and the way

(01:56:52):
they're pitching, So yeah, man, with all the losses, you
just one guy's career year would not have been enough.
One guy's career year, considering all the changes in the
way that they've struggled at times offensively, wouldn't have been enough.
Myers four hits yesterday, payin, You'll go out and get
you three or four hits in a couple of home runs.
Did that in a losing cause and winning cause. But

(01:57:13):
he elevates when there's pressure. There's something in the DNA,
and Jake Myers did not believe what we said that
he should be. And that's hard to do too, because
you hear it enough and starts it becomes a you know,
it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. His self fulfilling is
he's obviously believes he's a better hitter than what he's
shown up for, and this team's belief in him at

(01:57:34):
the plate is paying off now and he's validating that
sixty plus games in well.

Speaker 6 (01:57:40):
And I mean, you know, with Myers, I just think
you're seeing a different guy in terms of somebody who
doesn't chase as much as he had in the past,
and also is willing to go the opposite way. I mean,
he's willing to go backside with a base hit. Saw
it the other night, saw it Friday night where I
mean he had a sweeper and outside fastball. I can't
remember exactly what the pitch was, but I even made

(01:58:03):
the comment at the time once he hit it, I said,
that's not a guy we've seen the last couple of years.
That would have been a guy that tried to pull
that to third base. Instead, he said, now let's get
on base here.

Speaker 5 (01:58:13):
He's worked at his craft, and so what comes first,
the chicken or the egg? What comes first in this
the fact that he has become more selective at a
chasing or trying to do too much at the plate
to live up to the expectations that the Astros seem
to have had on him for a while. No one
what kind of defensive player, but he also knows the
whispers of they felt like they were playing with eight

(01:58:34):
guys offensively at times seven. There's no doubt he's heard that.
But so what comes first? Is it the fact that
he's become more selective or is doing is confident? I
mean chasing, not chasing doing things, not trying to do much?
Or did the confidence lead to this? You know, you
start to have a little bit of early success, then
you start saying, you know what, this is who I am?

(01:58:56):
And maybe this is now. I don't think any of
us have mistaken him for as going to be a
top ten hitter in the league at any point in time,
but I will tell you this pleasant surprise. Yes, And
sometimes all it takes is and we say, sixty games
in you start to see who you feel, who you are.
Maybe his confidence in the validation of the Astros constant

(01:59:17):
belief in him at center field that he was going
to play there, come hell or high water. Now it's
that is matching His defensive performance got to be one
of the surprises of the Year in baseball. The way
the guy's played offensively.

Speaker 1 (01:59:30):
Now, I don't think there's any doubt about it. When
it comes to painting.

Speaker 6 (01:59:33):
I mean with the All Star Game, I meaning the
voting is going on right now, it's gonna be tough
for him to earn a spot as a starter. I mean,
Bobby Witt junr. Is probably gonna get that nod. But
I don't think there's any doubt that you're going to
see him. He's an All Star, yeah, Josh hater And I.

Speaker 1 (01:59:48):
Mean you could even make the argument that Fromber deserves
to go along with Hunter Brown.

Speaker 5 (01:59:53):
Oh, I don't think there's any doubt now the early
you know, the win loss record where some of those
losses they couldn't close it out, couldn't get the win. Maybe,
but he's gone on, he's getting hot at the right
time for those eyes to be there. I got news
for it. When they people when you look at him,
whether he makes it not and you say, okay, give
me an All Star pitcher. Nobody's leaving from or out.
Whether he gets left out of the game per se

(02:00:13):
is one thing. But you're not looking at the guy saying, wow,
he's a hat you're looking at him saying forget you know,
four and one in his last six starts, But this
dude's an all star. Hunter Brown is obviously proven that
he's an all star. Payne is a no brainer. And
if Bobby Wits not in the American League, Payne is
your starter. So there is absolutely no doubt. And Hater's

(02:00:34):
been well all the questions. Last year a new team
and the rest of it had some struggles. The guy
is living up to why they spent the eighty plus
or ninety million on him, and here you are. But
Payne has been fantastic and he is clearly, if it's
not a pitcher, the most valuable player on this team
is Jeremy Payne right now.

Speaker 6 (02:00:53):
Yep, No, I don't think there's anybody that's gonna argue
with you on that. All right, we'll continue the Astros conversation.
Do you want to let you hear from Astros GM
Dana Brown about the possibility of when we could see
Jordan Alvarez back in the fold for the Strows, all
that much more here as we head into our four
of the Shawn Salisbury Show.

Speaker 3 (02:01:59):
Okay, let's do this.

Speaker 1 (02:02:01):
Sean Salisbury.

Speaker 3 (02:02:04):
To USC troupes, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 2 (02:02:07):
Dan Matthews. This is the Sean Salsbury Show. They take
two out of three and go four and two on
the road trip. White Sox are next up after an
off day here in town. NBA Finals NB are the
Finals Game two going to the Thunder as they even

(02:02:29):
up the series at one with the Pacers. That's going
to head up to Indiana.

Speaker 6 (02:02:33):
Now and running back Nick Chubb expected to sign a
one year deal with Texans as they go through mandatory
mini camp. Shan, speaking of Nick Chubb, we gave our
thoughts on this signing earlier and what his addition will
mean to the Texans. But you know, when this man
calls in, he's gonna have plenty to say. Larry and Stafford,
good morning, what's going on?

Speaker 12 (02:02:54):
Well, what's going on?

Speaker 5 (02:02:55):
Blue Dogs?

Speaker 12 (02:02:55):
Sean, how y'all doing, May y'all good.

Speaker 16 (02:03:00):
Shun.

Speaker 12 (02:03:01):
Hey man, I'm glad you're back. Man, I hadn't got
anything hello to you. But look here, man, let's get
into it. Man, this Nick Chubb signing.

Speaker 5 (02:03:09):
Man.

Speaker 12 (02:03:09):
Look, I know people get tired of me and they
want to try to find me and fight me because
of my opinions. I wouldn't I suggest you wouldn't do that.
But if that's what you choose to due, just understand
how this is gonna go. But my thing is this, Shun.
I'm a big proponent of when I put food on
my plate, I like to have enough food on there

(02:03:30):
that's gonna satisfy me so that I don't have to
just continue to wonder if I'm gonna be hungry or not.
The Houston Texans are doing exactly what they should do.

Speaker 1 (02:03:39):
You bring in as many elite.

Speaker 12 (02:03:42):
Or good players you can to get your ass to
the Super Bowl. And if they can bring in Nick Chubb,
and now that I see j'all hear Alexander's on the street,
that's why I go to buffets. I know some of
y'all don't like buffets, but your boy going there and
load up on plates, man, because I like to eat
and I like talent. And so if they can bring
in this kind of talent and finally get the city

(02:04:04):
in Houston a super Bowl, and even if it's on
a one year deal or something like that, that's a
brilliant move. And I think what you do when you
do that, you enhance that running back room, because now
he instantly upgrades everything in that running back room and
allows to Miko and Nick Cayley and all them boys
to run an elite level offense just like his defense.

(02:04:28):
And if you put Jairo over there on that defense, lord,
have merger. I don't know how they don't lock down
everybody that go out into pass routs, man, because that
is a talented defense over there, in the back end
and the front end and in the middle. So everything
that Nick Casario and Demico and Dim have been doing
since we lost that game in Kansas City, it's all
about we ain't letting this opportunity pass us no more.

(02:04:51):
And Nick Cassario got six rings on his finger by
doing exactly what he's doing in a south So you know,
I'm excited about it. And if all you want that
are worried about his knee and worried about his collar bone.

Speaker 5 (02:05:03):
And all that, that's what football is.

Speaker 12 (02:05:05):
You ass get hurt playing football. That's why you gotta
have enough good players that you don't drop off of
beat exactly like they did in that wide receiver room. Now,
as far as the Astros go far at Whitley should
have been gone a long time ago.

Speaker 5 (02:05:20):
And I'm okay with that, man.

Speaker 12 (02:05:21):
And if you would have told me that on June
to night that my Houston Astros was in first place
in the West with the pitching and the and the
players that they lost and things like that, I would
have taken that money, easy, bulldog, because this is baseball
and it's a long season. And if you can continue
to get what you getting out of Framber and Brown,

(02:05:42):
that's an opportunity for us to continue what we've been doing,
which is winning. Sean, you know, it's about football, man,
and this is the crazy off season, but it's all
about love and the age, because my boys ready to
do something special come football time.

Speaker 1 (02:05:54):
In our hall always.

Speaker 5 (02:05:58):
Passion. He is right though. First on the Texans is
that I've never had a problem that there are some
people that you bring somebody in, does it affect somebody else?
Competition wise? I'm loading up on every single good player
I can ever find, and if they don't work out,
that's okay, especially if there's not a big risk. What's
the risk with Nick Chubb? You're not paying him twenty

(02:06:18):
million a year. You get a guy who just three
years removed. When you name the six or seven best
backs in the league, he was one of them. We're
not that far removed, and they're not going to sign
him if they thought the knee for a year was
going to be a problem. Now you never know if
somebody gets hit there. But the rehab what happens is
and haven't been a guy who blew it out twice

(02:06:39):
my knee, same knee. What happens is you go to
work even deeper and harder once you blow it out,
because you know, okay, the structure of it may not
ever be the same. But with modern medicine and great
rehab and all this equipment of my availability, I can
make it stronger and hopefully prevent it from happening again.
This dude, where are not far removed from him being
what we called the full grown ass man playing running

(02:07:02):
back in this league. So load him up, get as
many as you can, and listen when you have to
when you have to cut good football players because there's
no room for him. That's championship quality team, and the
good ones always have. You get to the point saying, man,
that guy's gone. Yeah. Sometimes on a super Bowl team,
you got to get rid of good players, and people

(02:07:23):
sit around and wait for that guy to come available.
Nick Chubb had been the most consistent offensive player in
Cleveland period when he.

Speaker 1 (02:07:30):
Was healthy, period period.

Speaker 5 (02:07:33):
So you sign him, you're gonna get a which will
elevate mixing, which will elevate the offensive line, which will
elevate everybody. And I got news for you. One thing
defensive players love is when a guy on their team
is an offensive player. Go ahead and look during a game,
what do you think the guys on the sidelines go
nuts for a guy who runs by a guy for
a fifty seven yard touchdown catch. Yeah, we all love that.

(02:07:55):
And he gets a touchdown. But then watch him. When
a quarterback makes a block or a running back runs
the guy over on the sideline, their energy goes. It's
one hundred times better than the Ady R touchdown pass
guy ran right by him. There's a different energy. And
guys that thump you, like Nick Chubb or anybody else
you bring in, send a message to the team enough.

(02:08:16):
So I love it as far as the Astros go.
As we've said, and I've stated, there's no way you
thought on ju Night, with what happened injury wise and
all the changes at player wise, did they be sitting
in this pasure. You thought they'd be hovering around, but
nobody thought they'd be here. And they still haven't even
sniffed their best baseball for a consistent amount of time,
and they've played pretty damn well the last fifteen or

(02:08:38):
so games. So I'm with Larry, I listen. I'm not
afraid to load up on players, especially the reward's huge.
With Nick Chubb, the risk if it's a one year
deal not a big one. And anytime the reward's bigger
than the risk, and you're not getting a headache. You're
getting a guy who loves football and who is a
physical presence, and remember will also have something to prove.

(02:09:00):
The Browns quit on. I mean they're done with him,
and the guy is a good player. Guys like that
who do a lot more production than they do talking
about it are dangerous for the opponent. I'm just telling
you I was I've been telling you. A healthy Nick
Chubb makes that one two punch one of the more
solid ones in the league.

Speaker 6 (02:09:18):
Well, the risk would be if you were asking him
to come in and be the primary ball carrier. He's not,
but they're not. That's why there's no risk here. Yeah's
no risk. And the other win here is exactly what
you just mentioned. Okay, say that Damian Pierce looks better,
you decide to go with Damian Pierce, Daria Goomba, Wallee Wood,
he Marks, I mean, any of the other guys that
you have in that running back room than.

Speaker 1 (02:09:38):
Sean to exactly what you just said. It worked out fine.

Speaker 6 (02:09:41):
Like if you're in the position of saying good football
players are not good enough to make this team, then
it speaks to the strength of what you want this
roster to be one through fifty three.

Speaker 5 (02:09:51):
I can tell you this as sure as I'm sitting
here now. If Nick Chubb signs with the Texans, guess
who ain't coming out? I guess who's not going to
be the third or fourth back on the team. Him?
If Nick Chubb. If Nick Chubb is a Houston Texan
and it's third and two and Mixon needs a rest,

(02:10:12):
you know who's running in second right? Him? And he's
also a lot of times it's not the guy you're
start with, it's the guy you finish with. Now, that's mixing.
But if Mixon's banged up, who in the world with
a healthy Nick Chubb is worried about him closing games out?
I'm sure not. I've watched him closely do that continually
on a team that offensively as Dow Jones as it

(02:10:35):
gets in Cleveland. So yes, if he's on this roster,
there's a reason. And it isn't to stand over there
and hand out gatorade to the other two backs that
replace mixing. That's not happening. It is to have ice
and fire one two punch whatever you want to call them,
but it will be it will be money, and they
will be as good if both are healthy. You're getting

(02:10:58):
as physical as there is in a league for a while.
Two punch in the backfield.

Speaker 6 (02:11:01):
That's the hope for sure, and the Texan's going to
get a look at him this week at Mandatory Mini Camp.
Been talking to Astros too as well. Someone three two
one two five seven ninety Brandon, Good morning, Brandon.

Speaker 13 (02:11:16):
Good morning, then good morning, trying to welcome back.

Speaker 5 (02:11:19):
Thank you, Brandon. I appreciate it's good to be back, brother,
Thank you.

Speaker 12 (02:11:23):
What did you go.

Speaker 5 (02:11:26):
Well? Arizona, Scottsdale, Palm, Desert, Monterey Carmel to Pebble Beach
and Cypress Point and golf and so spent with friends.
And It's been a long time since I've had a
vacation like this, or even a vacation, so I've enjoyed it.
It's great to be back. Though summer. I'm excited Astros

(02:11:46):
are playing well. Football's right around the corner. But yeah,
I've been out Arizona Palm and in California both and
uh with friends in golf.

Speaker 3 (02:11:56):
Yeah, how's a letter like out there?

Speaker 5 (02:11:58):
Well, in Arizona it's be you know, it's one hundred
and three hundred and four hundred and five degrees, but
it's a dry heat. In Monterey Carmel, it was about
sixty eight, sixty nine, seventy, breezy and sonny. It was
perfect weather. It's think San Diego all the time, but
it was up in northern California, sunny and tremendous weather.

(02:12:19):
Every single day. It was. We were very, very fortunate.
When the wind kicks up, it's a little tougher on
your golf game, but it was about as beautiful as
you'll get injin In June at Pebble Beach in Monterey,
it was awesome.

Speaker 1 (02:12:31):
Yeah, for sure what you got on these astros, Brandon, Hey, I.

Speaker 5 (02:12:37):
This Starry yesterday?

Speaker 1 (02:12:39):
Yeah, Walter, I got him in a ram.

Speaker 6 (02:12:43):
Okay, cool. So you were able to find him on
the show. You didn't have to create him. He was
right there already.

Speaker 1 (02:12:51):
Okay cool.

Speaker 6 (02:12:52):
Well, hopefully you continue to pitch well with him, and
you know, hopefully he's able to stick around with the astros.
Because eleven innings, two runs given up, I'd say that's
pretty good.

Speaker 3 (02:13:02):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (02:13:03):
Hey, do you number any news from number forty four?

Speaker 12 (02:13:11):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (02:13:12):
Your don Yeah, that's something we're gonna talk about here
in this hour. Brandon, appreciate it. We're up against it.
As we heard from Dana Brown at yesterday, and we're
gonna hear a little bit from him here as we
continue to talk to the astros here al on the
south side. See you right there, get you involved in
the conversation. Well, actually I get to that next right
here on the Sean Salisbury Show, a Sports Talk seven ninety,

(02:13:35):
but not before I lay out a scenario for you.
Remember in the movie Casino, You've got you know, Ace
Rostein with the card counters. They catch them, you know,
take them back, give them cheeters justice right there? Remember
what Ace Rostein said to one of the guys, the
nerdy guy, when he got in there. All right, I'm
gonna give you two scenarios here. You can either keep
the money, get the hammer. You can walk out of

(02:13:56):
here and leave. You can't have both. You know, he's
got his buddy right there. Look what the did to
my hand man. Well, I'm going to make sure that
none of those scenarios happen to you, because you're dealing
with one eight hundred car cash. That's one eight hundred
two to two seven at twenty two seventy four. Because
you've got the power. In this scenario, you are As Rostein.

(02:14:17):
You are the guy telling them don't forget to tell
your friends what happens when they mess around. Well, don't
mess around when it comes to selling a prized possession
and a prized investment like your car, because you've got
car dealers right now looking for retail cars like it
was yesterday, and one eight hundred car Cash can be
able to help you be able to maximize your investment

(02:14:38):
as much as possible by dealing it with trained professionals
over there at one eight hundred car Cash that's one
eight hundred, two to two seven twenty two, seventy four.
And these are professionals that have been in the business
for years. They know cars, they are looking out for you.
They're professionals. And again, as I've said at numerous times,
you never know how much your car is worth.

Speaker 1 (02:14:59):
No card counting needed right here.

Speaker 6 (02:15:02):
When you deal with one eight hundred car cash that's
one eight hundred at two to two seven, at twenty two,
at seventy four, they could really surprise you today when
you give them a call again at one eight hundred
car cash that's one eight hundred two two seven at
twenty two at seventy four. And don't forget online as
well at car cash dot com. This is this Sean

(02:15:24):
Salisbury show.

Speaker 5 (02:15:26):
Yes, yes, that's very nice now with that.

Speaker 1 (02:15:29):
Fresh leather scent. First on Sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 6 (02:15:37):
Talking about the road to return for one yourd on Alvarez.
But uh first let's get to Al involved in the
conversation on the south side.

Speaker 1 (02:15:45):
Good morning, Al.

Speaker 3 (02:15:47):
Hey, what's up guy.

Speaker 1 (02:15:49):
Hey, good to hear from you. Yep, yep, we're here, Bud.

Speaker 16 (02:15:52):
Yeah, yeah, say Sean, just to echo, shout out to
the layer and you know we go back off the
Gregg and Indy Kalud, you know, taking over the show
back in the day. You know, I'm down with Larry
and Sean. This is the thing when these may say
her say this, and that they have and then following
this team absolutely from day one. Shout out to the
mcnaw rest in peace, Bob, because Sean, back in the

(02:16:15):
day with Rick Smith, you know, we didn't touch players
that kind of had a little entry or even a
little trouble off the field. This organization wasn't about that.
You had to have a clean nose and clean slate.
Let me designed free agents. But shout out to nickol
breaking the monocoly going after players. Sometimes you can't lightning

(02:16:35):
in a bottle, just like Diggs last year. If Diggs
wouldn't get hurt, he had a pretty good season with us.
And not only just that, Sean and you know this
the nuances they talking about Joe Nixon, but you know Sean,
Steve c J. Stroud got hurt last year and a
lot of times the line broke down. But a lot

(02:16:56):
of that has to do with blocking with the running
back and that new coordinate over it's looking at that
as well, you need a guy that's gonna block is well,
I only just need Chub talking about the running game.
You need some bodies in there to get up some
good blocks if you get past the offense, and some
guys they pick up some blocks.

Speaker 3 (02:17:14):
All that big.

Speaker 16 (02:17:16):
Physical mentality that Nick Chubb has to help your cornerback.
So people need to rest, you know, and realize what's
really going on between the lines. And it's a physical
building and Shun I think he's trying to build a
physicality with big physical guys.

Speaker 3 (02:17:32):
That's proving on my offenses.

Speaker 16 (02:17:33):
Well it's a defense and man, you know, I'm just
amazed on the move they'll make and even taking on
the diggers because fellas in this world.

Speaker 7 (02:17:41):
Ah time.

Speaker 16 (02:17:42):
Let me tell you something. We didn't do that. We
didn't take chances with play us with the whole management
of the guy would make mayor in Rick Smith.

Speaker 7 (02:17:49):
We didn't do that.

Speaker 16 (02:17:50):
So now we're just tell the Nichan they trying to
win and win big for the city and not on
that rubbing out with my rockets in the mixer, trying
to get a superstar here man, great job, get your
take on that.

Speaker 1 (02:18:03):
I appreciate the call out.

Speaker 5 (02:18:05):
Yeah, thank you, al yeah. I to me, you don't
go finan I'd rather build it from a physical standpoint.
And when we say taking chances, it's important to take
some calculated risks. But I don't think this is a
huge risk. I think that if you get Nick's you know,
Nick chubbed in the fold, this is a great reward opportunity.

(02:18:26):
They've already got their starbuck. Imagine adding a guy who's
a Pro Bowl caliber talent healthy as you're number two.
It's big. And when you're building, whether it's culture or
what you're trying, the message you're trying to send to others,
or what's in your own building, Because in truth, the
guys in the building got to buy into it if
you're a finesse personality, but you're trying to force feed

(02:18:48):
physicality down somebody's throat and that's not who they are.
It doesn't work. You'll get exposed. But this team exposed
on the field when you're getting pushed around. We know
from day one because that's who he's been and what
he's taught and what he had in San Francisco is
is meaning Tomiko Ryans. So here's how we're going to
do it defensively. I think they thought that that's how
they were going to do it offensively by going and

(02:19:09):
getting mixing, adding some people to the fold. The offensive
line with a bunch of number ones should have been
better and more physical, but there are a lot of
self inflicted airs and a problem. So they've nipped it
in the bud. Hopefully they're not where they want to
be offensive line, but it'll be a different mentality and
they will bring their own blockers, those two big backs
in the backfield. But in the process, what you don't

(02:19:30):
want to do. There's nothing worse, Dan, I'm just telling
you as a player than walking into a meeting room
after a game and you're the guy that the physical
part broke down because you tried to finesse him to death.
And everybody else in the room is saying, man, we
had four real good physical blocks, but the left guard
wasn't physical. Guys got through the a gap and tackled

(02:19:51):
Chubb in the backfield for a loss. That ain't a
Chubb problem. So they are going down to but it
does send a message. This is where we're not playing sideways.
Where we're playing shoulders turned north and south coming down.
He'll at you and you five big guys up front.
This is the way we're going to win. And I'll
take seventeen to seven wins as opposed to thirty two
to twenty seven losses where physically we couldn't close it out. Offensively,

(02:20:15):
they are your Josh Hader, they are your Rich Gossage,
they are your Mariano Rivera the run game in the
offensive line, and you can't talk physical. You have to
go get it. They got it, but it will permeate
through the building because, like I said, think the three
most physical guys are at least close on that offense
would be Chubb, Mixon and Nico Collins, and not a
one of them plays offensive line or tight end. That's

(02:20:39):
a loud message.

Speaker 6 (02:20:40):
Well, I mean it's also too, it's an unspoken message.
I mean, that's that's what it really comes down to.
And I mean I remember back to when I was
in Atlanta and that was one of the things, you know,
for a finesse football team that was thrown at the
Falcons and they were on hard knocks, and you have
Mike Smith up there at the front to start off
the season of hard knocks saying we are a tough,

(02:21:01):
physical football team. You have to be tough if you're
going to win in the NFL. If you truly believe that,
you're not having to say that. The message is instead,
we know what the standard is around here. I mean,
you don't have to have a bunch of guys starting
to look at each other. It's oh, that's how we
have to play if we want to get to where
we want to go. Yeah, Dan, it's a great point.
Talking it's one thing. Now, if you've got a guy

(02:21:23):
like Ray Lewis who could talk it and live it, okay, great.
But most of the time the guys who talk it,
you know, the physicality are there there. There's a little
bit of okay, may they're trying to convince themselves. How
often do you you said it in Atlanta? How many
times Nick Chubb come out and talk?

Speaker 5 (02:21:40):
Very rarely.

Speaker 1 (02:21:41):
He hated doing it, honestly for being there a person,
he hated to do it.

Speaker 5 (02:21:46):
But I got news for you after the game, after
he's put his helmet in a bunch of guy's chin.
It's a it's a different feeling. So I'm telling you,
and that unspoken maybe, like you said, you're doing it
without having to verbally say it. It's not just here.
If you're the Colts, if you're the Titans, if you're there,
they know men this message. I know they're worried about
their own teams, but the message is this isn't just talk.

(02:22:08):
We're bringing in a guy who is a physical thumper
who is a big reward for us if he's healthy.
They're not going to sign him if he's not. Now,
everything else got to take care of itself in the
line and Stroud's gott to play better. And I can
tell you this, it does nothing but enhance the quarterback
because you understand how to play action and past protection.

(02:22:29):
It's an upgrade. He and Joe meeting Chubb and Joe
mixing both. You don't have to subsidy. There's nothing that well,
you know, what keeps young running backs on the sideline
their inability to not dance in the backfield and their
inability to pick up an extra guy that they got
to block. If you can't block, you can't play on

(02:22:49):
third and six. Both of these cats can.

Speaker 6 (02:22:53):
Yep, it's been proven in a way that they've played
in the past, and you're hoping that it's able to
raise the level of everybody else now, not only on
this offense, but of this team, because you feel like
if you can add that this year, then you feel
like this could be a much different looking at Texans
team in twenty twenty five. We can continue to discuss
that if you want to seven one three, two one

(02:23:13):
two five seven ninety, but also to a possible roadmap
for return for Jordan Alvarez. Will let you hear that
as we continue here on the Sewn Salisbury Show. On
a Monday Sports Talk seven ninety Jay.

Speaker 5 (02:23:28):
Bar m Barbecue, Jbar and Barbecue twenty two oh one

(02:23:51):
And when you walk in it's you'll get through the
line quickly going order. You'll see the great pictures on
the wall. You got the Hall of Fame menu, you
know in that Wall of fame, but a hall of
fame many of you know, guys like Clyde Drexler and
Kelvin Sampson and Joe Spotta their favorite dishes, but they
like e and you got a choice of just about anything.
The meats, the sides. Now you can go there and

(02:24:12):
live on the sides every single day. Phenomenal place and
you don't need an event, although it's great when you
have them, but you don't need something happened to Toyota
Center or convention or something a minute or should I
say dike In Park that have to go in or
want to go in. It's one of those places that
you'll drive far and wide to get to, and you
don't need an event surrounding it to have an excuse
to go into the best in the business with Hofey

Speaker 6 (02:25:28):
Com cower is presented by one eight hundred car cash
and earlier we played some audio for From Dana brown
for you as he Joined Robert ford yesterday for his
weekly visit On Astro, launch and one of the things
was an update on number forty.

Speaker 10 (02:25:46):
FOUR i think it's ceiling a lot more and so
he's close to picking up a.

Speaker 3 (02:25:52):
Bat could happen with this, week so.

Speaker 10 (02:25:56):
And the goal would be once he gets back to
ticket some, swim we'll probably do what we did, before
try assimilated game instead of sending him out To TRIPLE,
a because we really like to have him back.

Speaker 5 (02:26:06):
Asap AND i.

Speaker 6 (02:26:08):
Mean you've talked about, it and we've talked about it
all throughout the show today OF i mean the struggles
we've seen from guys in the middle of this. Order
Christian walker some good, things but overall he's hitting two
oh seven on the, season so you've seen a lot
less than to be desired performances out of him at
the plate this. Season same deal With Yaner. DIAZ i,

(02:26:28):
mean some good, things to run, homer a huge two
run homer for you On saturday Against cleveland in an
effort to be able to win that.

Speaker 1 (02:26:37):
Game but you know he's also had his. Struggles same
deal With Jose.

Speaker 6 (02:26:42):
Altuve so Having Jordan alvarez to be able to be
planted in the middle of this order to take some
pressure off those guys that would be nice to, see
as well as being able to add on with some
of the other guys that we've talked about that have
been pleasant surprises this year for The Astros Jeremy, Pania
Jake myers And Victor.

Speaker 1 (02:27:00):
Carrot can't leave him.

Speaker 5 (02:27:01):
Out, yeah and it really, well it comes down to
the protection or just having him in the. Lineup what
it will mean to the other. Guys let's just face,
facts what it means to The. ASTROS a Healthy Jordon
alvarez gives you one of the five or six best
hitters in the league. PERIOD i just say home run.
Hitters they said best hitters because when he's when he is,
healthy he hits the, ball you, know you, know foul,

(02:27:24):
pole the foul, pole gap to. Gap he obviously can
carry you on his, back which a lot of players
can't do for a month at a. Time he is
just and then the presence in the lineup of how
to pitch him once they know he's healthy and he's
raking and get back to it because right, now you
know you want to get him. Right you don't want
it to. Fester but and linger and there's no. Doubt,

(02:27:45):
yeah it helps the other, guys but the protection in
the lineup to help him when he comes, back BECAUSE
i assure you you don't want to be the team
or the three game series they Watches Jordan alvarez get
right against, you because it will not be pretty for the.
Opponent that, is it's going to happen WHIN i don't,
know but we know it's going to happen because he's

(02:28:05):
just too good for it not to the only thing
between him and success is that is an, injury and
it's been fairly significant obviously because he's been out a.
Minute so, yes it's not just helping. Others it's simply
if you want to be A World series, team if
you want to be that. Team he, well it's been
great what they've done Without tucker and what they've done
Without Jordan. Alvarez come, on, now you saw what good

(02:28:27):
pitching did in a two game. Series, well it's a
three game but in two straight, games let's scooball against
them last year you run into. That you've got to
Have alvarez in the. LNEUP i think we all know
how important the big picture is and the lengthy picture
is to win it. All it's all fine and. Dany
they're playing great with, THAT i mean really good base
lets you say, great really good baseball without, him but

(02:28:47):
as we, know sustaining that for one hundred more games
will be very. Difficult he just makes everything better and
it's going to be important to get him. Healthy so
when it's, right take an extra day and then let's
hit the ground, running because when he's, right there's only
a handful of cats in the league that are that
are standing in the same team.

Speaker 3 (02:29:04):
Picture.

Speaker 6 (02:29:05):
Well and it's also, TOO i mean to what you're
saying about when he's, RIGHT i mean we see the
home runs coming, bunches and it's also matching up with
his plate discipline that he. HAS i, mean he's he's
probably one of the better guys on the, team maybe
even the, league of being able to recognize that's a,
strike that's a.

Speaker 1 (02:29:22):
BALL i can do something with. THAT i can't do
something with that. One that's WHY i call him a.

Speaker 5 (02:29:26):
Hitter that's WHY i said he's one of the better,
hitters not power, hitters BECAUSE i believe he's a hitter
first and then. Powers although we look at him big,
body the prodigious. Power we on the home run, wise
but it's all the other it's hitting the ball the other,
way it's taking a, walk it's seeing things driving the
baseball when it's they're not missing when you have an
opportunity the most, part instead of fouling it, off putting

(02:29:46):
it and play and driving the ball hard and. Slugging,
yeah everything he brings to the. Table you said, It
i've said, it everybody says. It so for, him it's
just health and then feeling Like, Okay i'm past that,
now getting back into. Rhythm and it'll be a pretty
than for The astros when it. Happens BUT i think
you'd have a hard time crowning the team a champion

(02:30:06):
with all the losses and with that guy not in
the middle of your. Lineup hopefully it'll happen sooner than,
later and then he'll get hot quickly because The astro's.
Fortunes and at the beginning of the, year if you,
said which guy can do you Ill we've asked, it
AND i think you, Said. Jordan i've Heard Steve sparks say,
It we've Heard Dana brown say. It you can ill
afford to lose that guy for a full seat you're in,

(02:30:27):
trouble so to be able to survive it while he's
been gone is a great. Thing and he should be
pumped because he's got to be sitting here saying we're
a handful of games over five. Hundred WHEN i get
back in this, Lineup he's not coming to a last place.
Team he coming to a first place. Team so it'll
be really nice to see him. UNLOAD i know all
of us have frustration with the, injury but you, know
sometimes you don't see things the first time. Around you

(02:30:48):
do the next time and think if you do just
thrown him out there and not knowing this second, result Thinking,
okay he feels good and you don't throw him out,
there and so now you've got a chance to get it.
Healthy at least they call that part of. It let's
hope it doesn't extend much. Longer we need him on
the baseball. Diamond we need him in the lineup and
Need jordon to be him because where you're going In,
September october and hopefully Late october and. BEYOND i believe

(02:31:13):
THAT i don't think that you can win A World
series without. It that's a captain obvious. Statement, yeah no
doubt about. It more From Dana brown about the plan
For jordon.

Speaker 10 (02:31:23):
Batting practice for, sure you, know off the you, know
off the live. Arm you, know he's gonna have to
do some off the, machine you, Know so we'll get
it a share of batting, practice and then once we
feel like he's got he's getting through that well with
no pain or anything like, that then we'll set him
up with potentially you, know a LIVE bp against the,

(02:31:46):
pitcher get him some at bats that, way and get
him back here In.

Speaker 6 (02:31:50):
Houston AND i, mean these are things That i'm sure
we're all going to be looking out for this week
as The astros. Again they'll get back into action tomorrow
against The White sox As jordan has continued to do
the running in everything else that goes with. It it's
just making sure that hand is good enough for him
to be able to not only do those things that
he was doing, before but to actually be able to

(02:32:12):
sustain it this time and have it ramp up to a, return,
yeah and do.

Speaker 12 (02:32:17):
Them with.

Speaker 5 (02:32:19):
Great excellence that he. Wasn't his power was not there
this year and maybe that has to do with. This But,
spance he's full. Go the ballparks will seem a lot,
smaller and you AND i both know that.

Speaker 6 (02:32:31):
Absolutely all right here on The Sean Salisbury. SHOW i,
mean usually side effects are not a pleasant thing to talk.
About but if this is a side effect that is out, there,
WELL i think a lot of you are going to
be running out to try to make sure you get
on board with. This we'll talk about it. Here it
is The Sean Salisbury, Show Sports talk seven. Ninety let

(02:32:53):
the celebration start. More Sean salisbury On Sports talk seven
ninety be able to get those summer. Bodies, well have
you heard that there is a supposed new side effect
for male users out?

Speaker 5 (02:33:08):
THERE i have. NOT i don't pay much attention to that.
Stuff so what do we? Got fill me?

Speaker 13 (02:33:13):
In all?

Speaker 6 (02:33:14):
Right, so, uh there are effects as ozempic face and
ozempic butt that are due to a rapid weight. Loss
but there is Now i'll go with ozempic mid section for,
men and that's what.

Speaker 5 (02:33:27):
Ozipic but what do you mean that? There what's?

Speaker 6 (02:33:30):
Ozipic BUT i think that probably you know less yeah
that BUT i, mean like you, know it's less, flabby
SO i mean you know you're you're starting to look
better that?

Speaker 1 (02:33:40):
WAY i mean as, yeah and then we got. Ozipic
what else we got ozimpic. Face, yeah ozmpic.

Speaker 6 (02:33:46):
Face WHICH i can understand that one Because i'm one
of the you, know unfortunate ones that any WEIGHT i,
have it goes right to my.

Speaker 1 (02:33:52):
Face it's not a good.

Speaker 6 (02:33:53):
LOOK I i would, absolutely you, know choose to have
it go anywhere else but. There but for some dudes
like me out, there it's it's an unfortunate, consequence.

Speaker 5 (02:34:03):
Okay and then the last ones is the bare mid drift.
Section that's.

Speaker 1 (02:34:06):
It that's.

Speaker 6 (02:34:07):
It that apparently that is a side effect that there
has been other effects that have been reported That The
New York post reporting that users of the drug are
claiming on the internet that their mid sections have gotten
larger since using the.

Speaker 5 (02:34:23):
Drug, really so you use the drug and you get
you lose weight, somewhere but it goes to you what your. Lovees,
yeah love handlos only goes to your lovees and your
your doune lap disease where your belly done laps over your.

Speaker 1 (02:34:36):
Belt huh, yeah, Son.

Speaker 5 (02:34:39):
It's like those side you, know they'll do a, commercial
come out and say, hey you take this and you'll lose,
weight and then for the next three, minutes they proceed
to tell you all the ways you're gonna die from
taking the. Medication, hey take this and your blood pressure
will go. Down but here's what. Happens your pecker falls off.
You you, Know, oh you're no longer interested in. Sex
you go line and other than, that, man it's great for.

(02:35:02):
You so that's what you're basically saying with, this although
you're not going to die from it. Apparently.

Speaker 6 (02:35:06):
Yeah, YEAH i Mean i'm smelling it out to eat
in less of the sped up talk that they. Have
like you, know me and you are big golf, fans
and you know they'll have commercials for stuff like this
all the. Time and then it's you, know side effects conclude,
that and it's, like you, Know i'm wondering if the
next one For ozimpic is going to Have but, dudes
this could happen for you right.

Speaker 5 (02:35:28):
There you. GO i, mean you give it up one
thing to lose another or to gain. ANOTHER i, guess, see,
yeah what are you going to do other than eat
right and get into the? GYM i GUESS i don't.

Speaker 1 (02:35:36):
KNOW i was gonna.

Speaker 6 (02:35:37):
Say it reminds, me you, know with all the craze
of you, know drugs like this that are out there
is health. Class we all had to take it and shout.
Out coach fits over At Saint, thomas he taught ALL
i feel.

Speaker 1 (02:35:50):
You oh he's the. Best he's the. Best love Love Coach.

Speaker 6 (02:35:52):
Fitzpatrick but he in two thousand and, four As sean
had had, said he, Goes you, know.

Speaker 1 (02:36:00):
Everybody wants the.

Speaker 6 (02:36:00):
Pill everybody wants that way as opposed to the other
ways that are, sustainable because that's really what honestly happens with. This,
like aren't we probably getting into an area here where
it's like when anabolic steroids were huge of, like, yeah,
hey you, know you're looking like you can throw every
single weight around in.

Speaker 1 (02:36:20):
There but, dude what's gonna happen once you stop taking it.

Speaker 5 (02:36:25):
A? Lot SO i would imagine it's the same, Here
BUT i don't. Know And i'm learning new things every
day like go zempic ass, Okay And i'm also learning
about now the guys are complaining that they've lost weight from,
you that you said lost, weight but that they've also
got a bigger. Belly, weird.

Speaker 6 (02:36:46):
Huh, yeah it reminds me of remember the Show Becker
it Had, Yeah Ted danson as the, doctor and it
reminds me of an episode a guy came in there
and he wanted an enlargement And becker is walking him
to the door as being, like, sir there's no such
thing as. That if if you want to be able
to make yourself feel, better then just go buy a.

Speaker 1 (02:37:07):
Corvette go buy a.

Speaker 5 (02:37:09):
Corvette but, no don't don't add, interest is what you're.

Speaker 6 (02:37:12):
Saying that's, yeah it's just because that's it leads me
into WHAT i usually do WHENEVER i have the the
aggressive you know uh l l d s behind, me you,
know the guy that's that's you, know trying to be
the tough guy on the. Road IS i don't give
him the middle, Finger, SEAN i give him the pinky,
finger to be, LIKE i know what you're working, with,
Buddy LIKE I i understand why you're. ANGRY i understand

(02:37:32):
why you're. ANXIOUS i get it. All but just go
be anxious and angry behind somebody else on the.

Speaker 5 (02:37:38):
Road not you give them the pinky. FINGER i, mean
this is all your pack and so roll up off
me exactly, right, Exactly, Yeah i'm. Done i'm done with, you.
Mane That's good's what that. Is, yeah that's, right you know.

Speaker 6 (02:37:49):
You usually usually it's it's lost in translation where they
don't necessarily understand what's.

Speaker 1 (02:37:54):
Happening so you, know they're all so dumb.

Speaker 5 (02:37:56):
Too, yeah so that's. Okay they're they're they're they're on
your ass and they're also so that's. Okay they got
they got. Both NOW i can't do anything about. That
that's their. Problem it's not So i'll worry about for. Sure.
