Speaker 5 (06:13):
So Marches March is here. You know, it might not
be a bad thing.
Speaker 6 (06:16):
Take a little uh, take a little hammering a little
bit for Bruce Pearl's team before they get ready for
the conference tournament and rolling into Matt March madness. Sometimes
that's not a bad thing. I mean, you don't want
to get beat, You don't want to get your ass
handed to you. Sometimes wikes players up though, especially when
you know you're still going to be one.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Seed if you just take care of business. Yeah, Buzz Williams,
head coach of Texas A and M. Didn't let the
let the kids you know, rush the court last night?

You can't be rushing the court. This ain't the This
ain't the ross Man Auburn last night. You can't rush
the court when you're a when you're a tournament team
and you beat him in your crib is what you're saying. Yeah,
and you beat him by eleven at the crib. You

he's pretty good. I didn't even realize that was a mean.
I know it's a stat, but like, I didn't realize
that was something to be recognized. Why we don't think
you got a separate It would only keep him separate.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
What what are you talking about? The stats? The fifty
and which ones says it's combined? Right?
Speaker 6 (08:55):
You got postseason? Yeah, regular season? Well, they go, I
think it's a trifecta. You got postseason, got your regular season,
then you cambine them.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
Yeah, but then I just feel like that's just the
end of Yeah, just to get Lebron on camera one

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Got got a while until Easter? Yeah, that's right. So
lint from from Limp Yeah, April twentieth. Yeah, for twenty bro,
the heck of a run.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Bro?
Speaker 5 (11:18):
You know twenty is bro? Yeah, I do smoke a little.
It's a it's a heck of a run. Yeah, twenty
you make that commitment. Why is it so late? You
giving up joggers for lint? Yeah? What do you want
me to wear? No, I'm not giving up choggers.
Speaker 6 (11:37):
Five inch shorts The dudes are wearing like they're hot
pants from sixty especially these young kids.
Speaker 4 (11:49):
Man, they wear these five inch shorts with their with
their thigh tat hanging out. You got like a tree
with like live laugh love under it?
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Bro?
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Bro?
Speaker 6 (12:01):
Yeah, look hot bro? Could you get four inch seeves
next time? So we can see everything.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Or you got like a like a picture of like
like a sunset with like the big sun on it.
It's like, oh right exactly, and then under it says
love life cool, bro, sweet what frat you get that in?
They let him be fraternized? Doc, Man, So you didn't
do that at the Ross ever? No, yeah, I'm sure
(12:27):
they do that at usc Uh.
Speaker 5 (12:30):
I did just see a lot of thigh tats when I
was at Southern count Probably not.
Speaker 6 (12:33):
You know, you get arm tats, but they weren't even
like Barbier. Yeah I think you know. Yeah, oh yeah,
it's true. The meathead would have the barbed wire around
the bicop sick. Oh you know, hey man, hey wait,
it be creative.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
What did you do?
Speaker 5 (12:46):
Open up a magazine and saw that guy with it?
So he saw that. It's a great.
Speaker 6 (12:48):
Okay, what'd be great? So it means what to you
you just saw in a magazine? You saw Barbier?
Speaker 11 (12:52):
Great?
Speaker 6 (12:52):
Yeah, boy, be nothing generic about that one. What is
what is a tough guy? They don't run through Barbara,
you know, I'm kidding. It made me something to somebody
that was the tattoo, right, Yeah, it's like Oh, it's
like the they going like in uh, it's kind of
like it's cyclical, right, oh, man, barbar that was the
old barbed wire was the equivalent of wearing an ed
(13:13):
hardy shirt.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
Right.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
So I just googled five tat men and this is
the first one. There you go sunset. There you go
with like some mountains and trees. There you got some
nice bitch about life under and you got you. There
you go, maybe a little granola over there.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
You got it.
Speaker 5 (13:30):
But yeah, I know that.
Speaker 6 (13:31):
But what I'm saying is that the tat was like
how creative can I get a barber? And and then
they you'd have an affliction shirt on. That's where you
knew the two combine. That's that they were hand in hand.
It was like peanut butter and jelly, an affliction or
red hardy shirt and a barbed wire tat.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
Dope. That was a long time.
Speaker 6 (13:50):
Now, listen, I don't hate you for doing it, but
if you did it, because four of your buddies put
barbed wire on and it eventually, eventually the barbier might
wrinkle a little bit.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
So I feel like Billy Chamberlain's got him a bar
boarre tattoo. I don't think Billy's gone bar bar No,
not yet. No, I think Billy.
Speaker 6 (14:07):
I think Billy might have like a like a Yosemite
Sam six guns on his bicep. You know, I call
Himite Sam. So yeah, with his US Coast Guard logo
under baby.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
Oh no no.
Speaker 6 (14:20):
Yeah, but you've said when you said us, they're gonna say,
you know, one of the one of the US military branches.
But I was like, no, you can't go no, I respect.
But with Billy, you know he yeah, I said, with
Billy you can know US Coast Guard. They're phenomenal. But
I'm talking about with Billy, you always put the Coast
Guard on it. He wants to get out of bed
and open up a can on he saw him, shoot
(14:41):
I did. It's pretty sweet. He will get there and
he can paint a sign with that gun he had
in his hand the other day.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
Good luck to you pay him Birmingham probably Peter Birmingham.
Yeah cool, Tracey Tracy at Lauren Lawrence. Yeah, you throwkins
in there today? Yeah none, biag voice yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
Every here is construction. It's like what was it called
asco You want, uh excuse me?
Speaker 5 (15:07):
What he does? This commercials.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
It was asco like, uh, heavy machinery. You want the best,
best equipment in the world. Ask goes where you need
to go. Never that commercial. Uh No, that's big tac.
That's tea dog. That's tea dog. Let's hear from Emay
you do. I'm telling you the dude was piss last night.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
They should have been not good for the Rockets. Uh.

You've canceled it, Yeah, cancel it? Man the front running
on the front run.
Speaker 5 (15:39):
Let's hear from the Rockets head coach.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
He was upset last night the Rockets lose to the
Indiana Pacers one two.
Speaker 5 (15:45):

Seawan Salisbury Show.
Speaker 6 (16:08):
You should probably give some love on cowboys and proud
boys next. Uh for the rodeo. You know, I think
we should do that. I think you should do that
tripling and we come back. You give me some cowboys
and proud boys want to give love to you know,
cause livestocks there you raise them on your Plowboy farm,
and you got some people, you know, riding both by
riding Bodacious at the rodeo Boy Farm. Rdacious is dead
(16:30):

the best athletes ever. That's a fact.

homage to him. We're gonna pay homage. And you can't
pay homage to John Party no, because he's not tonight.
It doesn't matter. But he we're gonna he's just gonna like,
hey man, So we're gonna all get together cowboys and community. Yeah, yeah,
get together, like we're gonna we're gonna just kind of
(17:21):
well hug each other, the cowboys and pub you need
each other. Yeah, so you gotta have to have the crops,
gotta have it ready, I got my bodacious gotta eat,
you know, like you know, just like everybody else got it,
you know, specifically have to eat.
Speaker 5 (17:33):
The boys, they got to eat. They got to eat.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
No, no, uh, like we should just ban that song.
Speaker 6 (17:43):

It'll be nice. You just played, you just played. What

Speaker 4 (20:21):
Our guy Billy's listening to this morning? He just tweeted,
and he's using military time when we're not in the military.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
He said, oh, nineteen or nineteen hundred, you gotta go.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Yeah, yeah, that's seven o'clock at seven pm nineteen nineteen
it's seven pm.
Speaker 5 (20:34):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
My dad was a veter of my grandfather's veteran and
even they did not use military time normally, like we're
not bad people that air board.
Speaker 5 (20:45):
Yeah, my dad never said get you get up, you
own that team hundred yeah, I'll meet you. Oh nineteen Yeah, no,
never happened. No, no, pos I got I got to five.
Speaker 6 (20:58):
I am, Yeah, I gotta, I gotta fried maloney and
some some uh some uh grape nuts ore.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
That was my pop.
Speaker 5 (21:06):
My kid, dude, if he's staying at the door eating
the grape beuts, you can hear him crunch from like about,
you know, because a grape best and then a filly
comes out, who admitting grape that's dude, I used to think.
I used to wake up. It was like taking Captain
Crunch times forty. You well, Captain Crunch was the problem is,
lets you let the milk get it soggy. You take
(21:27):
one bite and there'd be a gash about franches the
top of your mouth.
Speaker 6 (21:30):
And grape nuts was like, hey man, what do you
have for break? You go into it say, oh, eat
grape nuts.
Speaker 5 (21:35):
He's nuts. Yeah, oh dude, it's hilarious. But yeah, no,
there was no hundred Get up, you smell fried maloney
and my pops eating grape nuts.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Let's go.
Speaker 5 (21:46):
Yeah, man, No, it was no grape nuts. Why grape
It was just my dad liked.
Speaker 6 (21:52):
My dad's more like if you went to an ice
cream shop, my dad's not going for the chocolate fudge.
My dad's going for the raspberry shrbert.
Speaker 14 (22:01):
He was that.
Speaker 6 (22:02):
He wanted that, right. He loved spice and he loved
raspbut but he also liked the sugary cereals. My dad
wanted a little bit of sugar on some grape nuts
or some the old school like corn checks where there
was no flavor to him, right, and then you put
a little sprinkle a little because he didn't want to
be oversued. So we go home and you'd be bringing
home thirty one flavors, which was a place in.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
It was.
Speaker 6 (22:25):
But all that other stuff's fine, And my dad said, oh, yeah,
the boisonberry s sherbet or what it was, that's the
one orange sherbet. My dad was a that was him.
Or if he got to drink in it, he wanted
he always he'd liked it was just different. He wasn't gonna, hey, Dad,
you want some chocolate cake. No, I'll take this the
sherbet or the ice cream cake with you know something.
And now he'd eat it once in a while, but
(22:45):
he was more of a and so those fruity cereals,
but that wasn't my old man grape nuts for And
plus they were inexpensive. I think Post made him, you know,
or General Mills and inexpensive. Do you like black olives?
Speaker 5 (22:59):
I love him? God, my dad was upset.
Speaker 6 (23:01):
At that Thanksgiving or that I'll the empty blouse is
I'll eat. I'll put black olives. And who hasn't done this?
Put them all on your fingers, you know you put
all your fingers in the olives. I friggin love black olives.
I love blue cheese olives. I love the green olives.
I I'll dip olives and dip. I'll eat them a
whole can of them. Just I'll eat beats out of
the can. Dude, really, I'll put them in refrigerator, get
(23:22):
them cold, open it up, and eat beats out of can.
Put salt and pepper on them. I mean, I'll eat
the whole I'll eat the whole can. I friggin love
beats Man underrated, highly underrated. Yeah, I don't know how
many people to eat beats. I frigging I eat beats.
I'll guarantee I eat them minimum once every two weeks minimum.
Speaker 5 (23:39):
I love them. It's crazy.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
I use I used to.
Speaker 5 (23:41):
I used to, do you know can spinach? Yeah, I
love cans. Pop. I'd poured it a couple of cans
in there. I just put salt and pepper on that
and just spinach.
Speaker 12 (23:49):
Right.
Speaker 6 (23:49):
It was inexpensive, that's what you know. Grew up that
those are the saying, yeah, if you want to fill up,
you're hungry, heat up some of that spinach boy, Okay?
And it tasted good. So I learned how to do
all my I watched my dad eat is it was.
You know, my mom would sneak a twinkie in your
lunch and all that. But my pops was he didn't
want the twinkie. He wanted the boisonberry pie. You know
how you have the little hostess. But he wasn't gonna
(24:11):
eat the The ding dong wasn't for my dad. The
fruity boisonberry. Do you think he could get the fruit here?
And the more sour it tasted. It's the way my
pops want yeah, good stuff, man. Let's get to the
next second. We'll talk about those rocks and say lost
the piece.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
What do we have next?
Speaker 7 (24:27):
Up?
Speaker 5 (24:27):
Next song?
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Do you have cowboys?
Speaker 5 (24:29):
Let's plow this baby, let's go. Let's plow right through
this day. Are you what are you? I'm a cowboy?
Speaker 1 (24:35):
What are we? Uh?
Speaker 5 (24:36):
What are we talking?
Speaker 4 (24:37):
What are you teasing? Whatever you'd like? Okay, whatever you'd like.
Are you painting me anything? Or are you Are you
gonna give me some money? I'm actually no, I'm actually
going to fix your eyes. Oh okay, see I couldn't
see you.

for years, how many of us have done this, just
think about this, and I need to get this done.

want to try this lacy thing, but I'm worried invasive.
Take it from somebody who's been there in me, and
friends that I've sent to doctor Witzett who will feel
the same way.
Speaker 5 (25:24):
What are you waiting on? Pop on in there?
Speaker 6 (25:27):
It's not invasive. You won't be on the table long.

will see him at work making sure you get taken

care of the way you're supposed to.
Speaker 5 (25:50):
And he will walk you through it so you're not
that stress and anxiety that goes with it.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
You eliminate that as well, and then when you're done,
you'll be awfully pleased and say, man, I remember when
Sean said, I don't mean to talk in the third person,
said I should have done it sooner.
Speaker 5 (26:01):
Well, here you are.

Speaker 5 (26:27):
Here's the music word.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Whoa, whoa, whoa?
Speaker 5 (26:28):
Did you pot that down?
Speaker 1 (26:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (26:31):
Good good, it's all so you we got we gotta
touch sports Man four hours a right, we gotta get
back to come on. When you were in California, Yeah,
at USC Yeah, growing up? Yeah, did you know anything
about the Houston Rodeo or did you not learn about
it until you know?
Speaker 5 (26:45):
It's crazy? Like through all your travels. My dad, in
between his construction job, was a truck driver for a
couple of years and we had to move to Houston.
Speaker 6 (26:57):
Oh really when I was I mean I had to
be No, I was not a new between. My sister
was probably I'm trying to think around the age I
was young. Well, I'll tell you what year was put
in there. Michael Landon from Bonanza, Little Joe, Michael Landon
USC Trojan by the way, Michael Landon, Yeah, La nd
(27:17):
O and Little Joe on the Bonanza on Bonanza asked when.
Speaker 5 (27:20):
He was the was he the rodeo at the rodeo?
We talked about this, yeah, a couple of years ago. Yeah, yeah,
the rodeo. What do they call it?
Speaker 6 (27:28):
The I keep wanting to say, Oh my gosh, what
do they call that guy? Not the master the rodeo,
he was the about fifty people sent in us text
now or gosh, what was it? He was the Grand
Marshal Grand Marshall. Yeah, and I was at that nineteen
sixty four. No, you had to be later, that, didn't it.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
No, says uh Eddie Arnold The Tennessee Plowboy and Michael
Landon Little Joe of Bonanza Tennessee was nineteen sixty four,
the Tennis Tennessee plow Boy.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
There you go, and so okay, so sixty four and
I was, I mean, that's not dumb, is I was young?
And I can remember when my dad told me when
we because you know, you're young, you don't know what
the cities you live in here, right, But that's how
I always remember. We were here for like a year
nineteen sixty We were here for like a year at
the Sand colisseum.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
My dad kind of.
Speaker 6 (28:18):
My dad reminded me and my mom that whenever he
had come on and later in life when I went
and went to USC, Michael Landon was a trojan and
they would my mom and dad reminded me, well, the
first time you ever saw him was riding on a
horse at the the Grand Marshall in Houston. And we
were here, and I hate to say this, but the
one thing that stood out as we got older I
(28:38):
remember really is my parents telling me that the roaches
were huge.
Speaker 5 (28:43):
When we moved here. And am I right or wrong? There? Roaches? Yeah?
I was talking about monster. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (28:48):
And so the two things I remember from Houston that
being reminded. You say, how do you remember?
Speaker 5 (28:52):
It's weird.
Speaker 6 (28:53):
There's things I can't remember from six days ago, but
you remember when you were in the third grade or
the fourth grade or whatever it is. But and then
my parents were reminded me about that, and so I
always before I came back here was yeah, big roaches
and Michael Landon.
Speaker 5 (29:05):
Was a with a programm.
Speaker 6 (29:08):
I had a older brother, older sister, and my younger
brother wasn't born yet, so they were old enough to
understand what the rodeo was about. Right, So it was
it was pretty fun listening to my parents tell me that.
But yeah, so that's my first introduction to the rodeo.
So that was probably why over the years, I don't
want to say fun, because I didn't know anything about it,
but I didn't know it existed.
Speaker 5 (29:28):
I didn't know it was that massive. Yeah, as you
go up until you get here and see a part
of it, it's only gotten bigger. Man, it's crazy.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
First one, nineteen thirty two, it was that let's see
the Democratic Convention Hall in downtown Houston. It was primarily
a regional event designed to showcase the agriculture and livestock, including.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
Brahmas, oh, Brahma bulls. Yeah, it was around Houston. Was
Pelosi there, No, she wasn't.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
Yes, she was a Democrat well in nineteen thirty two, Yes,
she was probably like fifteen at the time, fifty fifteen. Well,
tales from the crips, so crazy.
Speaker 6 (30:10):
Triple Did you know anything about the Houston livestock showing
rodeo since you're from Tulsa.
Speaker 8 (30:12):
And not until I got down here, really, but we
have rodeos down in Oklahoma, you know, right right, But
this one, this one's a little on a different scale,
right yeah, never heard of it until I came till
I started college boys.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
It huge here, man, it's wild until you know about it.
When you know about it, you know about it.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
Right yeah? Man?
Speaker 4 (30:29):
Uh yeah, Riba, Like I said, Reba tore the house
down last night, Riley Green to night Reeves, thank you,
Reba mckayre. I wont if any of our listeners went
to the rodeo last night besides Brandon, but anybody but
Brandon or besides that's bad.
Speaker 5 (30:41):
That's my bad. I mean that way.
Speaker 6 (30:42):
I just missed anybuddy but brand Like, hey, you guys
all call it, but not you Brandon brand In all day, buddy,
he's just like he's grandfather. He's probably hung over, he's
probably grandfather. I don't think he was poor town beers
last night, okay with mom, I don't think.
Speaker 5 (30:55):
I don't think Brando was doing probably not. I don't
think brands Oh that Microwave, So who's stating that? Riley Green?
Speaker 6 (31:00):
Riley Okay, if you're a Nick David, what do you
call it? I already know what you're gonna say, Big
Rye dog though, Ryles Ryle.
Speaker 5 (31:07):
Yeah, so bro ro ro we're all a bur Thank
god he's not performing. Dude, I can't believe. I can
only imagine. I can only imagine what he was dog
the way the way you get on code dog is
I don't get it.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
Man.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
Kojo, Yeah, that's Kojo, not to be confused with Kujo
the Killer Dog. Oh, that's right. You know that movie.
Speaker 6 (31:32):
No, man, sure, don't. Man, I never heard of Kujo. No,
look at Kujo during the break. Go look at Kujo
Kujo the Dog. Yeah, you might want to. It's a
it was a killer dog when you didn't mess with Kujo.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (31:47):
Oh yeah, this is like Beethoven.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
No, he was a little tough for the Kujo was
was based on Stephen King's nineteen eighty one novel of
the same name, directed by Lewis Tig.
Speaker 5 (31:57):
Oh No, Louis Tig, lou Tig. Yeah. Yeah, it's my guy, man,
that's my guy.
Speaker 4 (32:01):
Seven one, three, two, two, five, seven nineties and number
to join us, roll along right here on sport Stalk
seven to eighty.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Let the celebration start war Sewn Salisbury. It's a Shawn
Salisbury show.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
By the Jets. Kyrie irving towards a cl He's out
uh for the Mavericks. Would you imagine being a Mavericks fan,
My god, tough, tough, yep, tough sledding. You trade Luca
Dodges because he's too fat and likes to drink a
couple of beers, smoke a couple of grits.
Speaker 5 (32:35):
It's not fat.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
You bring in ad who gets hurt in his first
appearance for the MAVs. He's probably out for the for
a good part of the rest of the season. And
then Kyrie Irving tears his acl Oh and by the way,
by the way, the Mavericks front office is raising ticket
prices season tickets by at least eight percent, at least
(33:00):
the bare minimum. They are raising ticket prices by eight percent.
Imagine being a half Fricks fan.
Speaker 6 (33:06):
It's embarrassing. And they just don't understand the room man.
They don't get it. And one of two things want
to happen. They're either trying to force their way to
Las Vegas to get the bad Dallas Mavericks fans to
hate them, which has been part of the rumor. Or
the other thing is they're gonna work so hard they're
going they'll stay in Dallas. But you know what they're
gonna do they're gonna wait till Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick
(33:26):
descides betting is gonna be okay. So they can build
all that casino and do all that stuff and try
to capitalize on some of that stuff too in a
big way.
Speaker 5 (33:33):
But they just don't get it. They don't get it.
Speaker 6 (33:36):
And once again, as I continue to tell you, there
will be no apology to fans, there will be no
They'll expect you to show up and if you don't
pay those tickets on time, they'll pull them off and
give them to somebody else. I mean, oh here, we
want it to half up front half, and they'll just
keep raising prices and price out the person who can't
you know, who can't afford even a mini season ticket fan.
Speaker 5 (33:56):
It's it's you don't get it. They don't get it.
Speaker 6 (33:59):
From top to bottom, ownership blows. Apparently, they don't make
a lot of decisions that are wise. And it's just
talking about having zero feel, yeah, none the zero feel
for what's going on. And to do that and then
ask them to raise their ticket price. The problem is
that people will bitch and bitch and bitch, yet somebody
will come in and pay it to have those season.
Speaker 5 (34:17):
Tickets and so it won't matter.
Speaker 6 (34:19):
That's why fans continue to miss out and we never
give them a seat at the table.
Speaker 5 (34:25):
On our show.
Speaker 6 (34:25):
We give them a seat, but when it comes to
making decisions in big moments, the fans, when it comes
to it, they got to either keep paying or move
on and let somebody else pay. They never get an apology,
and they never I'm talking about ever have.
Speaker 5 (34:38):
A seat at the table.
Speaker 6 (34:39):
Their seat at the table has to be a seat
that they bring themselves, meaning that they all get together
and collab and say we're not We're just not going
to show up.
Speaker 5 (34:48):
Win's it end.
Speaker 12 (34:49):
See.
Speaker 5 (34:49):
The problem is for fans. I just hate to tell
you this. Your money will run out quicker than the billionaires.
Just so you know.
Speaker 6 (34:56):
Yeah, your money's gonna run out quicker for the billionaire,
so that price keeps going. I know you love sports,
but dude, for me, I'll just say this as loud
as I can. The best environment in sports. I mean
when I say environment, the best environment's out there with
I understand all the tailgate and stuff that goes on.
For me, the best you'll get to the point the
comfort of my own homeworks a lot better. Yeah, yeah,
(35:18):
it just does, and that has nothing to do with
the money, but when you think about it, it has
to do with it, because it's like, and you really
want to go, and when you'd leave after this point
in time where they don't care and you're gonna spend
those I got to seat it at home, make my
own good dogs, or make or may make me a
burger or a pizza or whatever. Like I said, I
encourage going to games with if they continue to price out,
the only seat at the table you have is your wallet,
(35:39):
and if you keep giving it, if you don't, unfortunately,
a person with a little more in their wallet's going
to go do it because they say, oh, I want
those tickets.
Speaker 5 (35:46):
That's just the way it is.
Speaker 6 (35:47):
It's sports, and we do it for franchises that win,
we do it for franchises that don't win, but the
fans never get a seat at the table. And it's
never going to stop. As long as you can continue
to do it. There's the players, salaries will continue to rise, ownerships,
business will continue to grow, inequity and.
Speaker 5 (36:03):
Will continue to in value.
Speaker 6 (36:04):
Should I say, and they got all the equity in it,
so guess what they go from billionaire to billionaire to billionaire,
and you continue to spend your money going and watching
a lot of times. Here's the problem. And I'm not
even speaking to this day. I'm talking about all over sports.
The product sucks. Yeah, it does suck, and you're going
you're going paying If you're going to pay for the experience,
invite everybody over to your home and get the people
you like to be around and pay for that. Grab
(36:26):
a few sundches and laugh with your friends, or barbecue
some and then you can come and go as you please.
If the product sucks. We're fortunate here. We don't have
any product that sucks right now. If the products that
suck are I mean, can you imagine by June being
out of there, You're you're in a Chase Mow and
you can in baseball or what have you, or in
sports and you're a team that's out of it and
you're still charging the price that you charge, and they're
(36:47):
going to raise the ticket prices next year and people
are going to pay to.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
Go ridiculous, No feel man, Uh, excuse me. The Dallas
Morning News put out an article in regards to the
ticket prices going up.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (36:57):
They interviewed some fans and the fans told Dallas Morning
News that last season, their ticket prices had risen between
twenty percent and fifty percent, and that the team's loyalty
pricing program, which was designed to help lock in costs
for long term ticket holders, was discontinued. Now you trade
the face of the franchise ad gets or ad gets hurt.
(37:21):
Kyrie Irving gets hurt. And oh, by the way, they're saying,
you know what, we're going to increase them again, eight
more percent up on ticket prices.
Speaker 5 (37:30):
They're not gonna have anybody show up. What fan is
going to go to that? It's a horrible product. I
would not go to it. I wouldn't either. Oh my goodness,
I don't love I mean, I love sports, but I
don't love that much. No, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (37:47):
I can find a bad product. Turn on my TV
and watch reruns or something. If I want to find
a product that sucked or as good hell that I've
seen four hundred times. I don't need to see that. No, thanks, man,
I don't love it that much.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
I can go.
Speaker 6 (37:58):
I'll go shoot jump shots in my back yard if
that's the case. Yeah, exactly, we can. I'll drop you
one low on the block. You go to low block. Yeah,
it's a two man game. You just get on the
wing with put two man game. Just get me one
where I can boom, where I can drop step and
hook him and just take it and cup dunk on authority,
with authority.
Speaker 5 (38:15):
With authority, man, Yeah, there's no's Is there any other way?
It's with authority. And then I might be that one
where you're where you're on the right wing. I'm down
the low block. Two man game.
Speaker 6 (38:23):
You give me one to the left hand on the
low block, and I just twirl, drop step and then
I go up like I'm gonna lay it up on
the front side, and they get some backside help and
he comes over tray. I go up and under, but
but I'm talking about it over my head with a
rim rattler. Yeah, right in the kitchen. Because he comes
in the backside help comes to the front side. I
think I'm just gonna kiss it off the PLEXI but
(38:44):
I go under and then back over with a with
a with a just kind of a semi wind meal.
Speaker 5 (38:51):
No look over the shoulder dunk. That makes sense, Yeah,
And I run down to the court and all that.
Do his point to you, you know you got a point. Yeah,
I'm dropping down.
Speaker 6 (39:00):
Yeah, I mean right, yeah, I mean I was assist
eighteen down looking and I wanted it low with them
down to the paw and boom bam, and it turned
me right into away from away from that guy trying
to side me and then trying to You almost tried
to front me before in front of me.
Speaker 5 (39:14):
I fronted his ass at the rim. Okay, yeah, why
are you fronting? I finished the game with five points,
but nineteen assists.
Speaker 6 (39:21):
Great, you impacted the game. I mean I went forty,
I went forty twenty ten. Yeah, I mean I gave
you an alleyoop to repay you, and then I gave
you an alley oop and you came from the side
at six three and a half and just.
Speaker 5 (39:34):
To and got it. Go out and have a couple
of stouts and a couple of grits, you know, just
like Luca, I would celebrate with the grip.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
Why not?
Speaker 4 (39:41):
Yeah, why wouldn't you a couple of long darts? You know,
you know you spoke cuple poles. You know we'll get
we'll get after it.
Speaker 14 (39:50):
Man.
Speaker 5 (39:51):
I'm with you, I'm with you. Those cigars are good.
Oh okay, yeah, I just making sure.
Speaker 4 (39:57):
All right, let's get into the seven o'clock hour, seven one, three, two, two, five,
seven ninety. As we move along in the show, we'll
talk some Astros baseball, a couple of UH haters out
there when it comes to evaluating the Houston Astros so far. Also,
we got some Texans things to get into. There's some
wide receivers that are free agents. Will the Texans get involved?
That's later on in the show as well. Right here
on Sports Talk seven ninety KBM E.
Speaker 2 (40:19):
Houston, ktvz HD two Houston.

Speaker 5 (40:42):
Saulisbury, old by Salisbury, Houston.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
Okay, let's do this. Sean Salisbury.
Speaker 3 (40:52):
To usc truth, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury, Ryan.
Speaker 5 (40:55):
Lo Lima, go Lobos.
Speaker 2 (40:58):
This is the Sean Salves.
Speaker 4 (41:03):
Those Rockets did not look good last night. Emy U
Doka A little upset Sean. They lose two in a row,
Oklahoma City and Indy. Uh, the Indiana Pacers. This is
the head coach he may U Doka. He was pretty
frustrated after the game last night.
Speaker 17 (41:24):
Earlier today, you said.
Speaker 5 (41:25):
We wanted to see energy, consistency and aggressives.
Speaker 12 (41:27):
How would you assess those areas the opposite of what
we talked about what we would hope to have with
some guy who's not playing last night. Yeah, and so
it's hard to win when you don't give sixty seven
in the first half and played uninspired and you know,
(41:48):
lack of physicality and throwing the ball over the gym
and don't look like we care at times. And so
you know that one hurts because you do all that
work to get back into it and go thirteen for sixteen,
team for twenty six when the free throw line miss
about five point blank layups. You know, then you can
extend the lead when you're up one and do all
that work and then give it back. But more than that,
(42:10):
to your point, I care about the fight and effort
and competitiveness from the start to avoid getting into that hole.
Speaker 5 (42:17):
And there's you may you duck.
Speaker 4 (42:19):
He frustrated, to say the least for the effort that
the Rockets put out on the floor last night.
Speaker 6 (42:25):
There can be no bigger indictment on a team than
when your coach says times wondering if they care, if
we he said, I think he said we care, Yeah,
but I I can't think of anything. I mean, you're
gonna get your ass kicked, You're gonna miss shots, you're
gonna miss layups, you're gonna, I mean shoot fifty percent
(42:45):
from the floor. And what he say, or would he
say thirteen to twenty six or something at one point.
But the one thing you can't have come out of
your coach smouth. He's right, But the one thing you
don't ever want to hear as a player that you
don't care, because to me, that's just basically is one
thing you can't the effort. You can control effort and caring.
And even if they do, when the optics look like
(43:06):
they don't, your own head coach is questioning it.
Speaker 5 (43:08):
That's not a good thing at all. And uh, you
saw that last night, and so did he.
Speaker 6 (43:14):
Yeah, you're not beating anybody shooting free throws like that
and missing easy and easy you know, layups at the rim.
But you're also, like you said, put yourself in a
bind if if coming out of the gate, you're not
if it feels as if you don't care, and you're throwing.
Like you said, there are people in there in the
front row are getting jump shots. Last night with the
way the ball is being moved around and missing, is
(43:36):
that you're you're You can't have a head coach have
that feeling about his team, and last night I see
why he did. And that's the that that's such an
indictment on a team. They got to get they got
to stop that. You can't have those optics. Oh well,
the performance showed they shot fifty from the free throw line.
You can't win. That's elementary school. Like I said, you
(43:57):
go out and shoot twenty free throws right now without
warming up, And I know it's pressure, it's different, but
you got a chance that hell, you can underhand them
and maybe make fifty percent.
Speaker 5 (44:05):
They can't. You just can't beat teams like that in
this league. From three point land nine of thirty.
Speaker 6 (44:11):
Yeah, last night, and now you understand all those things
that are happening free throw isn't that a little bit
of concentration.
Speaker 1 (44:18):
It's not.
Speaker 6 (44:18):
It's not like you're being contested. It's a concentration thing.
Missing easy lips a concentration thing. And when you're not concentrating.
You know what the coach thinks, you don't care because
this is your jobs. If you're not concentrated on the job,
what the hell are you thinking about? And he makes
a great point. But what I do like about him
as well as well, among other things, is that he
(44:39):
he is not afraid to offend his team.
Speaker 5 (44:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (44:42):
Yeah, and if they're offended, they out when I say
off I don't know if they're offended or he not
afraid to put it out there that could some could
take it ah Man too critical or offensive. No, he's
the coach and if more people thought like him, they'd
probably shoot the free throws better.
Speaker 5 (44:56):
And I think they do last night.
Speaker 6 (44:57):
It's listen, it's a game, but you don't want to
fall on into the trout because we've seen a little
bit of this lately and that's been a problem. And
it's obviously he's just not talking on a knee jerk thing.
This is a trend that he didn't like seeing.
Speaker 5 (45:09):
I'm with him.
Speaker 4 (45:09):
Yeah, you look at the Pacers last night, only ten
free throws, but they made all ten hundred percent from
the free throw line.
Speaker 5 (45:16):
The shot ten free throws, yeah, is a bit odd,
but hell, they did they let they left nothing for chance?
Did they?
Speaker 4 (45:26):
One hundred and fifteen points for the Pacers, only ten
coming from the free throw line. They made every single
shot from the free throw line of the Rockets. Like
you said, thirteen to twenty six. Not a very good
defensive effort from the from the rockets. They've lost three
in a row.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
Man.
Speaker 4 (45:40):
Yeah, you see really really good spurts from this team,
and it looked like they did last night and the
night before. But that's where the sustain consider. That's the
That's when when a team you start to want, well,
are we are we losing focus because of our youth,
which we can't keep making excuses for.
Speaker 6 (45:54):
That's when that starts to creep in. You say, where's
what's happening. It's one thing to do it for forty
fifty games, but when you got to sustain it for
eighty two of them, it's you're not gonna win them all,
but you still gotta You can't be disinterested. You don't
any night you got to.
Speaker 5 (46:09):
You may lose.
Speaker 6 (46:10):
You're gonna lose, you know, thirty of them regardless. You
can't be but you gotta. There's got to be some interest.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
Man.
Speaker 6 (46:18):
Yeah, you know and when if there's no interest, there's
a there's a passion that goes with it, that your
game will reflect it. And I think it showed last night.
And basketball is even more blatant because our eyes are
right on them.
Speaker 5 (46:28):
You're on the court.
Speaker 6 (46:28):
You know what I'm saying. It's hard to hide mistakes
in in an open court. It's really you know, on
the basketball for it's hard to hide those mistakes. And
when your coach can see through the physical mistakes and
know that something's going on with either the effort or
the attention span or the the just the lase fair attitude,
that's a problem.
Speaker 4 (46:47):
Yeah, they've they've dropped to the five seed in the West.
At one point they were the two seed. Yep, the
Lakers are now the two seeds. The Lakers are on
seven in a row.
Speaker 5 (46:56):
They're eight.
Speaker 6 (46:57):
So this is going to prove to be I don't
know if they're going to win the championship, and I'm
going to tell you this, it's going to prove to
be a.
Speaker 5 (47:05):
Historic trade for the Lakers. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (47:07):
And Lebron, I mean, he's been playing pretty good basketball anyway,
but he's revitalized. You can see it because he knows
he's got a chance to win the thing again. Yeah,
and this one is a full fledged legit one, right,
and no disrespect to twenty twenty, but let's be real,
that wasn't That's not a NB season.
Speaker 5 (47:26):
It's a different thing. So you're this is a I'm
anxious to see as a Laker.
Speaker 6 (47:34):
I tread lightly on this, but getting Luka Doncics was
We said him, like, what are you kidding me? As
a Laker fan, you were through the roof. As a
Mavericks fan, you're not, and then all of a sudden,
Kyrie gets hurt and now you're getting ticket prices charged.
It's just the Dallas Mavericks are going nowhere fast. Have
you seen what the Cavs are doing? Yeah, come on, man,
they've won eleven.
Speaker 5 (47:54):
In a row.
Speaker 6 (47:55):
I'm going to tell you something on your Bengo card.
Going in, you didn't have a team. What's their record now?
Fifty one and ten?
Speaker 5 (48:00):
Yeah, and so so fifty one to ten. That's fifty
one sixty one, so sixty two games. You got twenty
left fifty one six is that about right? Twenty twenty
one games? Yeah, so we got about twenty yeah, like
twenty one games. Yeah, and they've won fifty one games
fifty one.
Speaker 6 (48:15):
If they go in this role and let's say they
just okay, let's just give them fifteen to their next
twenty one, that's sixty six wins for them. Now, I
can assure you on your Bengo card, the Cleveland Cavaliers
were not a sixty six point team over under. I
like to know what the going into a good team.
But you weren't thinking between sixty five and seventy wins. No,
that was not on the Bingo, but you could have
(48:35):
made a lot of money on that. I'm taking the
over on whatever win total they had.
Speaker 4 (48:40):
Yeah, Boston's forty three and eighteen and they've won seven.
They're seven and three in their last ten. Yeah, it is, yeah,
the number two.
Speaker 6 (48:48):
It's scary how good the Cleveland Cavaliers have played this year.
Speaker 4 (48:52):
And then you look down at the Oklahoma City Thunder
and they're fifty and eleven.
Speaker 6 (48:57):
And that's why, and think about that they're one win
behind it, and you're talking about like we're giving the
wow factor to Cleveland. Yeah, which is they should, but
it didn't like it didn't like they're nine games in
the East ahead of what Oklahoma City is in the West.
Their fifty wins as well, they're one game apart. They
can end up going winning you know, sixty five sixty
four games themselves. The hell of a season by both
(49:19):
of them. The question is, would you bet that both
of them will be in the NBA Finals? Would you
bet that either would be in the end?
Speaker 1 (49:26):
One?
Speaker 5 (49:27):
Both or none? If you had to bet it neither, Yeah,
I'm gonna say none. Yeah, I actually think the same thing.
Speaker 6 (49:34):
Now, I want you to see that's that's that regular
season magic, and say, can you play long series against
teams that now the one thing that Oklahoma City said, Well,
they both but Oklahoma City's got a guy who can
take over any game.
Speaker 5 (49:47):
He's gonna he keeps this up, he should win the MVP. Yeah,
but I just I'm just telling you, man, I I
don't know.
Speaker 6 (49:55):
And both are so good, but there's a part of
me that thinks, after the season, it's like, then we
get the NBA f we'll see neither one of them.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
Right.
Speaker 6 (50:01):
But if you're going by who's been the best basketball
teams all year long consistently, it's not just the record,
the optics as well, it's been those two teams.
Speaker 5 (50:07):
Yeah, no doubt. Yeah, Like the team that I wouldn't
want to face in the playoffs in the West would
be the Denver Nuggets. Well, oh yeah, that's the team.
Speaker 6 (50:17):
Probably probably the best player in the league. Jimmy Butler
is like, I can't vitalize that team.
Speaker 5 (50:25):
I can't.
Speaker 6 (50:26):
They were in the playing at one point, Dude, I
had I had them. When all this is broke down,
I mean, they're left for dead, like, yeah, the run
is over. Yeah, and they've kind of caught fire and
Steph's filling it up, and you know, it is crazy
that we're actually talking about this like they they were
old by the way, man, they even gonna, you know,
last year that this is a this is team that's
(50:46):
their run is done. Yeah, And I'll be damned, man,
it's been impressive. But when you got the Jokich, of course,
you're you know, you're always going to have a chance
in the West because he's so good. Golden State just
beat the New York Knicks.
Speaker 4 (50:57):
Steph Curry twenty eight points, Jimmy Butler nineteen, Brandon Podzimeski nineteen.
Speaker 6 (51:03):
Simply not around these parts as what Pozzi Pozzi, Yeah,
poz don't know who the.
Speaker 4 (51:07):
Hell that is yeah, okay, yeah, I don't know, but yeah,
that's the last I just don't don't let Steph Curry
cook in the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (51:15):
Tell you what, but you got to deal with Nick Joic.
Come on now, Son tough, tough, Who's who's shown. He's
the ys eternal judge who sits on high He's the
final say on all disputes.
Speaker 15 (51:28):
Back to the Sean Salisbury Show on Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 5 (51:36):
All right, Sean, what are you hearing out there now?
Speaker 15 (51:39):
The Salsbury takeout SALSI takeout on the Sean Salisbury Show.
Speaker 5 (51:45):
Time for the steak out?
Speaker 4 (51:47):
Here on the Sean Salisbury Show, Sean Browne tripley Astros
Cardinals twelve O five. The first pitch today Rockets fall
to the Pacers. DeVante Adams released by the Jets before
gets the steak out question seven one three two one
two five seven ninety A ring, Good morning.
Speaker 1 (52:03):
Hey Pelis, what's going on this morning? Was up? Brian?
Speaker 5 (52:06):
Yeah? I called the refuge yesterday? Come on, man, Mike, Mike,
come on now, Mike, what kind of racist yesterday? You
and who you? And Mohammad yesterday? Hey man? All I'm
saying is his real name is Mohammed, but they call
him Mike. Makes sense.
Speaker 6 (52:30):
I don't make this morning, so I want to go
ahead and let that dude. I just look, I just
I just report the facts.
Speaker 5 (52:37):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
As far as the Rockets go.
Speaker 18 (52:41):
What it is is these youngsters thought that they'd be
able to just ease through the second half of the season.
No wrong, coach. Coach wants what you put in in
the beginning of the season. That's how you're gonna make
the playoffs and actually competition. Astros question fellas sixty games
(53:04):
over and under baton average between Jake and Chaz, who
goes down first to the minors and doesn't come back
rest of the world.
Speaker 1 (53:15):
Relax, Pea started my man, you got it, Bubble.
Speaker 5 (53:23):
I appreciate Adrian. I better say.
Speaker 6 (53:29):
Combined batting average of the two. When you take the
two and average them out over the course of sixty games,
two thirty nine, first sixty, Okay, one might be hitting
two fifty eight, one might be hitting to eighteen.
Speaker 5 (53:44):
You know who is too eighteen.
Speaker 6 (53:46):
I would lean towards the bat of Chasmo is going
to be better than the bat of Jacob.
Speaker 4 (53:51):
Yeah, yeah, there's no doubt there is no doubt Jake
Myers is to go to the KBO.
Speaker 5 (54:00):
You you're disdain for Jacob?
Speaker 2 (54:02):
Is it hurt?
Speaker 5 (54:03):
It really cuts Steve, It really does. He's not a
good hitter. Just call it like it is, man, call
a spade a spade. If he h's three hundred, you'll
call him a joke. No, I'll say, damn, dude, you
just want a career year? What a career year? All right?
Speaker 4 (54:18):
For the stakeout, I'm gonna keep it here. Local University
of Houston football. We've talked Sean, you and I multiple
times about head coach Willie Fritz. They just they went
four and eight in his first season. Coach Willie Fritz
just signed the best recruiting class in program history, and
(54:39):
it's by average recruit ranking. The class is led by
four star defensive lineman Travis Bouhak and four star offensive
tackled Demetrius Dean. He's won every single stop that he
has had in his coaching career. His next one is
(55:00):
at the University of Houston, obviously coming off of his
first year, and he has done some good things with
this recruiting class. What do you expect for coach Fritz
in year two and beyond in the Big Twelve.
Speaker 5 (55:14):
Beyond competitive, beyond. I expect them to be highly competitive
in the Big twelve. Highly competitive as far as next year,
middle of the pack type team, middle of the pack
type team. It's going to take a minute, but I
trust him, and if we'll have a little patience, I
would imagine that if you're having the same conversation two
(55:34):
years from now, that Willy Fritz team will be held
in much higher regard in the preseason prognostications and at
the end that they will be competitive against the teams
that are in the Big Twelve. That you did every
year you think they're going to be playing for the
Big Twelve championship. I believe that Willy Fritz can get
them in that type of competition. I don't think next
(55:57):
year we're worried about them winning the Big Twelve, but
I do think will take a minute.
Speaker 6 (56:01):
I get when it comes to work ethic culture. I
think that I think there's a big reason they hired
Willi Fritz, And there's a part of me that believes
that he's got some Kelvin Sampson DNA type in him, meaning.
Speaker 5 (56:15):
That you're going to do it the right way.
Speaker 6 (56:17):
That we are going to build a culture, that we
are going to work to be a destination spot, that
there's too many great players around here for us not
to keep them here. And then when you're here, you're
either going to do it the right way or you're
going to sit pretty simple. I don't think this is
a bridge job for Willy Fritz. I think this is
the job for Willi Fritz. So so I just look
at history. He knows how to win, and that becomes contagious.
(56:37):
He'll take a minute, But you also got to give
the guy a chance to get his players. And Willi
Fritz will be a damn good football coach here. And
I don't know how many more stops he wants to make,
but I'm going to tell you what if he does.
If he does what I believe he's going to do,
and now being in this conference, he won't need to
go anywhere else. Yeah, Plus another contract extension will be
in the offing.
Speaker 4 (56:56):
You see what University Houston is doing with their nil collectives,
obviously with Kelvin Sampson in the base or basketball program.
Speaker 5 (57:04):
You see what they're doing with the football program.
Speaker 4 (57:06):
The facilities have been upgraded tremendously Like I said, they've
got multiple NIL deals and collectives, so things are should
be looking up for that football program.
Speaker 6 (57:15):
And they got the right head coach. That dude literally
just wins everywhere he goes. Yes, he does, and you
just got to let him do his thing and he's
gonna go. You can see when you start to get
those types of recruits.
Speaker 4 (57:24):
Yeah, and dude, you're in Houston, like some of the
best football in the countries right here, high school wise.
Speaker 6 (57:29):
Here the hardest thing. But the landscape has also changed. Brother,
You not not that the teams. They're great players every year.
What I was getting ready to say is about like
A and M and Texas and the bigger schools. You think, well,
even the Oklahoma's and LSUS I get they come in
and they take your players.
Speaker 5 (57:44):
But here's the deal.
Speaker 6 (57:46):
People are no longer just going to their legacy school.
If you grew up loving Texas or Texas, A and
M because of the NIL, maybe they don't have what
Maybe you're not getting what you want from them, and
Houston comes in and gives you a deal that's a
little bit better, and you're a star for them, and
you're they're number one guy, and maybe you're the number
two guy going to Texas or Texas A and M,
and so you take that guy and a lot of
times that guy turns out to be a better player.
(58:07):
So I think that the truth is the transfer portal
nil and the way we're paying players and stuff. Now
it's no longer my dad went to Texas, so I'm
going there. Oh well, no, I don't have any affiliation
with the University of Houston other than coach Fritz knows
how to recruit, and man, their NIL was really good
to me. I'm going there. It does exist. You're going
to see players, Well, Michigan taking the quarterback from LSU.
(58:31):
He had no ties to Michigan, No, none at all.
Dave Portnoy from Barstool makes a call to Larry Ellison's wife,
the Oracle chairman and CEO HU and twelve million dollars later,
Oh yeah, I'm gonna leave LSU can go to Michigan.
Not the Michigan's not a great program. But he hadn't
had no ties there. So the legacy is getting to
the point where it really doesn't matter. You're actually this
(58:54):
is we are now a pay for play for the
most part in college football. For the most part, say
for the top end players, and they're just and it's
it's nothing now to play for three different schools.
Speaker 5 (59:06):
It's kind of the norm, unfortunately.
Speaker 6 (59:08):
So it's right and you get to choose if you
like it or not. But that's just the way it is.
So you got a choice. You can either beat them
or join them. If you can't beat them, should I
say you join them?
Speaker 14 (59:16):
And so.
Speaker 5 (59:18):
You jump into it.
Speaker 6 (59:19):
And that's why building these collectives. We may not like it,
but if it's under the rules, you got to do
the best you can to do it. Or guess what
as an ad as a head coach any of these schools,
if you're not keeping up with it, they'll move on
from you. That's a big Can you imagine you get
the job as the a D and all of a
sudden the number one you've got to be great, You
got you used to be. You got to make sure
they're academically sound, that they don't embarrass the university, and
(59:40):
that they can win. And now it's how much I
got to pay them? How do I keep paying them?
And how do I prevent them from transferring? And oh,
by the way, we got to win. You know what
I'm saying, yeah, and so it just it's it's crazy.
So but the advantages you can get into the fray
because there's everybody can't sign with one school.
Speaker 5 (59:58):
You only got so many scholarships.
Speaker 6 (01:00:00):
The disadvantage is if you don't have Texas Longhorn money,
you better jump into the You're gonna have to find
some alumni whore willing to go dig a little deeper
into one hundred million dollar donation.
Speaker 5 (01:00:09):
Yeah, you got to get the nil.
Speaker 4 (01:00:10):
That's exactly right, that's exactly right. Yeah, you got to
figure that out. All right, let's get to the next segment.
We're going to talk some astros Baseball, CBS sports hating
on the astros, But what specifically are they down on
when it comes to these stros.
Speaker 5 (01:00:24):
That's next. Hey, sort of pro painters sort of what
they see sert ofpro dot com for your free estimate,
and every sort of pro business, each and every one
of them is individually owned and operated. Listen, the paint
job that you have if you're let's say you're moving
out of your place, don't you want to make it
look good as an era isn't like what do they
call it? You know that presentation the street, everything, the
(01:00:44):
way it looks good, to your flowers and your paint job.
If you're trying to sell it and not going to
maximize value, it's the same thing if you're living it.
I know when I pull out to my house, I
want to look good and sort of pro do it
better than I can and far better, And they'll do
it better than most.
Speaker 6 (01:00:56):
Even if you're a di wire. This will free up
not to have to do it there again, they are
You can go to certapro dot com. They are local
and they're timely, and they did a fantastic job in
my interior and exterior. Whether it's your home or business,
they're expensive to own, so you might as well protect it.
So whether you're staying in it because you like the
optics of the way it looks, they'll help you pick
(01:01:17):
out your paint. They'll help you know which one looks
good with this color. They're experts at this, and they
get it done quickly, efficiently, and they make it look great.
Or if it's the outside you want to look good
for your own presentation or for somebody else's your friends
will they will let you know. I assure you, and
I'm sure they'll let you know if you need to
pay job, and if they do, it's sort of pros
(01:01:37):
a place to go. Sort of with the Sea official
painting part of the Houston Astros, they are sort of
pro painters again, sort of with the Sea, sort of
pro painters. Man, there is no better sort of pro painters.
That's painting happy And we're there.
Speaker 2 (01:01:51):

Speaker 6 (01:04:33):
I'm getting a feel that the vendors were were effing
it up last night A little bit. Didn't feel like
they're like, can't get the mic away. Vendors are showing
up late. Brandon's putting his time and he can't even
get a victil. That's pissing me off too, man.
Speaker 5 (01:04:48):
What food did you eat there?
Speaker 2 (01:04:51):

Speaker 5 (01:04:56):
Of the air. Do you have anything in it? Little cheese?
Case of the that's it.
Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
No chicken, no steak.
Speaker 5 (01:05:04):
Yeah you can have the majority of people just eat
plain cheese. Case of these.
Speaker 1 (01:05:08):
You do know this right?
Speaker 5 (01:05:08):
No way?
Speaker 6 (01:05:09):
Yeah they do, no way, yes they do. The delicacy
is putting like a Fahiti and everything.
Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
The normal.
Speaker 5 (01:05:15):
The normal case of D was invented on flower cheese. Yes,
what are Napoleon dynamite? Damned right?
Speaker 6 (01:05:21):
I snapped dynamite? What else, Brandos? You had a little
case of D? What else has huh?

Speaker 1 (01:06:03):
Bad man.
Speaker 5 (01:06:04):
How's that new couch going you sleep?
Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (01:06:09):
I didn't take a nap because I was.
Speaker 5 (01:06:13):
At He's throwing it right back, Sean. No, I can't

Speaker 5 (01:06:25):

Speaker 1 (01:06:27):
Man?
Speaker 5 (01:06:28):
He said No, Sean, I was no, I don't take naps, Dude,
I was working. What were you doing.
Speaker 10 (01:06:32):
You're the golfing, You're the one throwing feed around. You're
the one who's asking new video screen microwave. Yeah, and
I feed it up, feed my feet. I watched the
feed and I brought some feet. I couldn't get fed
because the feed was feeding.
Speaker 5 (01:06:47):
The lead cheese casada. Dude, majority of people you where
you're you think a chicken case is the norm. It
should be the norm. But I didn't say what should be.
I'm just telling you no, No, oh, shredded chicken enchilada
is the norm. Chicken INChO.
Speaker 6 (01:07:04):
I'm a fida chada guy. So okay, well I got
news for it. The the case idea was not invented
with chicken.
Speaker 5 (01:07:11):
Hey, I got some chicken. Let's put cheese around the
majority of the majority of people that buy chicken, I
mean case ideas I buy. I love chicken in my
case of and I like faheeda it as well, are
cheese case idias.
Speaker 6 (01:07:25):
Go order a casada. When you drive at a drive throw,
they're gonna say it like a casadia.
Speaker 5 (01:07:30):
They say either chicken or steak. No, they'll give you
a cheese case idea. Let me go.
Speaker 4 (01:07:34):
I'm gonna go to Taco Bell menu right now, and
I guarantee you they they even have a cheese case
idia for you.
Speaker 6 (01:07:39):
You couldn't be you could You have to request chicken
or steak. If I say, just give me a, I'd
like just cheese case of idea. That's what they'll give you.
Speaker 5 (01:07:48):
Cheese. No, it's okay, all right, here we go. Case
of dias.
Speaker 4 (01:07:54):
You got Cantina Chicken Casadia Chicken Casadia or Cantina Chicken
Caesadia Chicken caeak case no option for cheese.
Speaker 6 (01:08:02):
The cheese case of d is is the option. Everything
else is the added Okay. I go in and ordered, like,
what's the other one around here? I haven't done it
in through years. Give me a They'll say if the
cheese case id it's how I ordered, And they don't ask,
like what do what do you mean?
Speaker 5 (01:08:18):
Just cheat? Don't want chicken?
Speaker 6 (01:08:19):
No cheese case is the norm. That's how case d
is were started. But now the delicacy is adding meat
into it. That's the extra case is normal. I think
I always think cheese when you go to a bar
and say, yeah, I just get Casadia they'll bring out
sour cream. You want gualcamole, sour cream, gualcamole and cheese
case ida. No, it's with chicken. No, it does very disagree.
(01:08:43):
Is not chicken because you have because you can get
it and they may think like you do how I
was always have I always seen it.
Speaker 5 (01:08:52):
Cheese was the norm. Chicken and steak were the ask.
Speaker 4 (01:08:55):
So when you go to a restaurant you say, hey,
I want a casada, they just bring you a cheese one.
Speaker 5 (01:08:59):
They don't say.
Speaker 6 (01:09:00):
Absolutely, they say do you say do you want do
they say do you want chicken or cheat chicken or
steak in it? Say no, just cheese case okay, And
they'll bring out sour cream, guacamole and all the stuff
they put on the side of it. Fact i'd say
that you don't want the casa do you? And you know,
like the what are they like the do you get it?
Like like the role it'll have like deep fried with
(01:09:24):
the like meat in it. Oh, not an egg roll,
but you know what they're called like uh, you know
how you order a little flatterimmy like but it's not chimmy.
Shong is a big breeder, you know, like something rolls
there are the small ones. You get him at a
Uhican restaurant.
Speaker 5 (01:09:37):
Yeah, you'll get him in a Mexican restaurant.
Speaker 6 (01:09:38):
You'll order them like on a on a platter, and
they'll come with like three it's like the the sampler platter.
Speaker 11 (01:09:42):
Right.
Speaker 6 (01:09:43):
No, it's not Tomali's. I know what tomali is. They're
they're deep they're deep fried, regardless of it. When i'm
it's like a hamburger. It's like hamburger inside cheese and
and and it's a chim chong.
Speaker 5 (01:09:56):
No, but that's the big No, not a churro. Anyway,
I'll get it. It's all the same thing.
Speaker 6 (01:10:02):
But they come smaller in their little rolls that you
have like hamburger, meat and cheese inside them. And they're
they're usually an appetizer, is what I'm saying. But if
you order the platter, they'll bring you a cheesecase to
d unless you order chicken. That I've never had to
order a cheese. I mean they'll I just make it
easy on them, but they never say I just say
I want a cheesecase of They don't say you want
(01:10:23):
chicken or steak in it.
Speaker 5 (01:10:24):
I say, no, I want a cheesecase of it. They
don't ask. Maybe I'm wrong.
Speaker 4 (01:10:28):
I'm just every time I've ever been anywhere, it's like, oh,
you want a chicken case of you or you want
a case.
Speaker 6 (01:10:32):
If they don't just bring chicken unless that's the only
thing they have the base of the case, shrimp, the
kid the base. Yeah, I have a hard I have
a hard time getting chili's. Is that they they're the
ones with the little rolls. That's what the Southwestern egg
rolls at that place. That's exactly the ones I was
(01:10:53):
thinking when it came to That's what I was thinking of.
You don't want to get that little sampler that right casadea?
So for me if when I order it, they always
nobody assumed unless I request chicken, they bring cheese.
Speaker 4 (01:11:08):
I'm just saying, man a triple dibber, hate to see
me coming. See look now now, look, I could be wrong.
I'm just saying, I'm.
Speaker 5 (01:11:14):
Sure more people. Is that of text.
Speaker 6 (01:11:16):
I mean, I've been here thirteen years, well in Texas
twenty five years. Yeah, but I've always the base was
if I didn't that if automatically it's a cheesecase idea,
what do you adding to it. That's how in calif
my whole life. Right, I say, just give me a Casadia.
You were getting the cheese and the flowers. If I
told my mom Casadia, it's cheese and a flower tortilla
(01:11:36):
and you dip it in the sour cream or salsa.
Speaker 5 (01:11:39):
Right, that's all it was.
Speaker 6 (01:11:40):
Yeah, is actually exactly today's day, exactly. I don't think
there's a wrong or right answer. I think different. But
I and to my experience, when I go to a restaurant,
I order that the sampler, they'll bring a cheese case
a da unless otherwise for me, unless otherwise told.
Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
We'll see what our listeners have to say. We got
a haeseus and a Hauan on hold, so you know
they know they know no. And Tyler once to get.
Speaker 5 (01:12:02):
Read streets about and I'm from escal how would you
doubt that? And Esco case of d when I drive
through a Berto is the case of the man. Put
some respect on the case of It's not a case
of hey, man is a case of the man. And
it comes with chickens. Said, drive through Robertos, I want
the I want the carnea sada burrito with gualk that's
extra meat and a case of the That's how I
(01:12:23):
orderco since I was since I was five.
Speaker 6 (01:12:28):
Yeah, well of course extra for extra. And so when
I get up there to the front, you know what
they say. They hand them over and there's a cheese
case of the.
Speaker 5 (01:12:37):
Cheese. Welcome back wave, SALSI is still the same. Hey,
what do you want to when you're in orange?
Speaker 6 (01:12:45):
Man?
Speaker 5 (01:12:45):
O G you want you want the norm?
Speaker 11 (01:12:47):
Man?
Speaker 5 (01:12:49):
That's exactly right. Hey it's seals.
Speaker 1 (01:12:51):
You know what that is?
Speaker 12 (01:12:52):
Man?
Speaker 5 (01:12:52):
He get it, the regular regular. The doctor Pepper will
come with it.
Speaker 1 (01:12:59):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:12:59):
I go to Robertosh you go seven one three five
seven hinety right here on the Sean Salisbury Show.
Speaker 2 (01:13:08):
The Salisbury Show continues.
Speaker 5 (01:13:11):
Because I come from from Flo. Well, a flout is
what you tie. It's a deep fried? So what do
they call it? What they call the thing at the
place you just said, would you?
Speaker 1 (01:13:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:13:21):
What's Southwest? It's a Southwest egg roll? That's bread. That's
a deep fried.
Speaker 1 (01:13:25):
It's that.
Speaker 6 (01:13:26):
But it has the same crispy crunch as a floud. Yes, absolutely,
there's about eight of them. They're the same with the
deep fried, but they're called different. Okay, Chimmy chong is
like burrito size, but you can make them. I guess
and rolls. But that's what I'm talking about. But if
I'm waiting on you and you and I come up
to your table, I say what would you like and
you say I like a casadia, I would wait for
(01:13:49):
you to say chicken or steak if that's youant. Otherwise
you're getting a cheese of flour tortilla with hot with
cheese and heat it. And if you said but I normally,
because I understand if there's four them like you go
like you said, you got chicken, shrimp. I simply say
this to save everybody from asking cheese casadea. So it
really it kind of covers both. But I would not
come up to you and where I've been from an Esco,
(01:14:11):
when you order a casadia, it was cheese and flour
and that's what you get and go to Roberto's and
ask I. I'm telling you in our Mexican restaurant are
drive through, which is a legendary place.
Speaker 5 (01:14:21):
Here's the uh, here's the the definition. What definition? When
you get it? Casadylla? Okay?
Speaker 6 (01:14:29):
A tortilla filled with cheese and heated origin Spanish.
Speaker 5 (01:14:34):
Okay, I know because so I.
Speaker 6 (01:14:37):
But I'm just telling you that is how a normal
case ida is now at these at the restaurant you
drive through to get it, they may very well say
you want chicken or steak, assuming that that's all there is,
because they may be twenty and they don't any think
about a cheese casadea. I'm just telling you that that's
the definition and a casadea. I'm for the mean Streets dog.
A casadea is cheese and a flower tortilla, and where
(01:15:01):
I come from, it's corn bread and chicken. But you
got to order it if you want. If you just
order casad you're getting a cheese, cheese, eat it in
a flour tortilla. Okay, tortilla. If I wanted, I got
to be specific with chicken or steak where and.
Speaker 4 (01:15:17):
You say I would like a cheese, I would like
a casada And they say would you like steak or chicken?
Speaker 6 (01:15:22):
No, in your life, they may you might want. They
may say chicken or steak if they have four of
them on.
Speaker 5 (01:15:27):
The You're eating cheese. Case is no steak or chicken.
I've eaten cheese. Causda is a thousand times more than
something because sometimes they put that processed chicken inside him.
It's not. No, it depends on where you go. Put
it this way I have.
Speaker 6 (01:15:43):
I'm a little skeptical driving through getting a shrimp casadia
in a drive through.
Speaker 5 (01:15:47):
Who the hell is doing that? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
Exactly?
Speaker 6 (01:15:49):
Sorry, So for me, you know, I grew up cheese casadia.
The additive was steak, chicken or shrimp. Crazy man, let's
talk to Let's talk to our peeps. Then, hey, zeus,
what's happening.
Speaker 1 (01:16:01):
Hey, good morning guys.
Speaker 20 (01:16:05):
I'm agreeing with what's on here. Yeah, I grew up
eating casarillas. And where I'm from, I just played totilla cheese,
eat it up, like I said, And I could go
to any one in my hand's house anywhere here in
Houston and to ask.
Speaker 1 (01:16:21):
Me me, oh you want a casanilla.
Speaker 21 (01:16:23):
They're never gonna ask me, do.
Speaker 5 (01:16:24):
You want chicken?
Speaker 1 (01:16:25):
Or if from just geez, thank you. No one in
my family will ever ask you do you want beef
o chicken?
Speaker 20 (01:16:37):
You cas yes?
Speaker 1 (01:16:38):
Man?
Speaker 7 (01:16:39):
The only question I will get asked do you a
flower or.
Speaker 6 (01:16:44):
Green and red salsa? Hey, sus, that's why us true
Mexicans get it. Okay, that's my man, right, Yeah, I
got a bunch of you and Castle, the white guys
who I have to swim, the real ones, the original
the o g It's cheese, flowery salsa on your tortilla.
Speaker 5 (01:17:05):
What you got one? No, he's right, it's just thank you.
That's a back to back Mexican.
Speaker 11 (01:17:13):
Right.
Speaker 7 (01:17:15):
And then when when daddy got paydays, maybe you threw
a hot dog weeny in there.
Speaker 6 (01:17:20):
See you got some meat in there. That's why I
said it's a delicacy. He's right, Juan, Jesus and Sean,
we all come from the Spanish. Play we get it okay.
Speaker 7 (01:17:30):
And you know, hey, one other thing, Sean, outside the
gates of Camp Pendleton was the Albertos you the there.
Speaker 6 (01:17:36):
You go, the Roberto's Albertos Giliberto's. So that's my guy,
Gilberto Giliberto's. They're all the same, different now he knows.
Speaker 7 (01:17:44):
And when we were coming home late at night, you
had to get a burrito, you had to get a couple.
Guess that he is because he gave one.
Speaker 1 (01:17:52):
To the guard.
Speaker 7 (01:17:54):
So he let you in and wouldn't have to make
you do the little sobriety.
Speaker 6 (01:17:58):
Right there coming back in Camp Pendleton is obviously right
that outside ocean side of San Diego and one and
tell me this. When you went and that's right, and
when you went one after a night some cold beer,
when you stopped at Alberto's, which is like the twin
sister of Robertos, you and you ordered that burtle minus
carnea soada.
Speaker 5 (01:18:18):
With guak, extra cheese, extra meat, boom.
Speaker 6 (01:18:21):
And then you'd say, I need Casadia and you'd also
order the three teketos with guak mole. So yes, this
is coming from the horses mouth. Appreciate it, thank you, No,
it stops there. Hold on with laying in on Twitter
now listening white boys, Yes exactly, Hey Sean Rob.
Speaker 5 (01:18:47):
Rob says, the standard at Tago Bell is chicken. By default, there's.
Speaker 6 (01:18:52):
Chicken because that's the great Mexican food standard at Taco Bell,
and then there's cat.
Speaker 4 (01:19:00):
He says, you're thinking about a flout and if you
go to order case, they will ask steak or chicken,
not do you want to add steak or chicken.
Speaker 6 (01:19:07):
Let's okay, here we go, Cass, one of ours, Cass, Brian,
What was the other one? Rob, Cass, Rob and Brian? Oh,
well that's the Yeah, you're the guys. I'm assuming that
when you order a cheese pizza. They say, do you
want pepperoni or mushrooms on it?
Speaker 1 (01:19:22):
No?
Speaker 6 (01:19:23):
Full of crap? Okay, Juan, Hey, Susan Sean. That's Mexican,
Mexican and Mexican.
Speaker 5 (01:19:29):
Jim versus white, white and white Jim, I got your chim, Jim,

and mama making it in the kitchen, say that that
may be how you ordered. And anybody that calls in
here and says, hey, a real man when he goes
through tackle bell, that's my go to.
Speaker 1 (01:20:19):

Speaker 6 (01:20:20):

Ryan Lima, go Lobo. This is the Sewan Sells Very show.
Speaker 6 (01:21:14):
They hit right once a couple of times every you know,
every couple of weeks, and they do hit right.
Speaker 5 (01:21:20):
They two. It's a tooth filling, but it's there. Awesome man,
that drinking vanilla. That's my sister.
Speaker 15 (01:21:27):
It is.
Speaker 4 (01:21:28):
Yeah, she's a plain for children and they are. And
that my sister Tricia, love her to death. I don't
know what the hell that title is.
Speaker 6 (01:21:37):
They were casey is were either you either if you
do and they were easy inexpensive though sister coming in hot. No.
Speaker 5 (01:21:44):
But but the truth is, and I said, yeah maybe,
but that's a case of truly thinking about what you go. Hey,
I'll have it.
Speaker 6 (01:21:50):
When when you go to talk about what do you
order your kid when they're young, I say, my kids,
but they used to cheese case because it was easy
to make, it tasted good and it's a drive.
Speaker 5 (01:22:00):
Through, so I'm not trusting.
Speaker 8 (01:22:03):
He wanted me to tell you that casa dilla is
just basically a Mexican grilled cheese sandwich.
Speaker 5 (01:22:08):
Yeah, with flour tortilla. It's not it's not fried. That's
not set on the on the group right.
Speaker 1 (01:22:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:22:13):
Pedro wags in and he says the gentrification of a casadilla,
shaking my head. I mean, that's pretty good, man, but
weird now to people look at it. To me, chee,
and maybe it's how you were and how you grew up.
Chicken was never it was never put on a casadia.
(01:22:34):
I mean not that it was wrong you order, but
that was the extra if you if you kept it around,
It's like what kind of what are you?
Speaker 6 (01:22:40):
What toppings you wanted a pizza? See, I make my
nachos different. I'll never go in and I know it's
maybe it's nacho snob and I don't mean it, but
I used to you know, where they just put some
meat on top, all the stuff on top, and by
the time you get through about ten or twelve chips,
all the meat's gone, all the jalapenos are gone if
you have sour cream on it, and then you get
down to the last two thirds of the of the
not it's just chip.
Speaker 5 (01:23:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:23:02):
So when I go in, I do this, I say chips.
I want the same stuff you put on top in
a mid layer. So I go boom, boom boom. All
that's there, and then the top layer. So when they
get through the first layer of chips gets what's there, meat,
sour cream, cheese, it's down there.
Speaker 5 (01:23:18):
So when you get to the bottom, you're not just
eating chips and salsa that there's still cheese, they're still meat.
They're still chicken or spaheat or whatever. You steak, steak, nachos.
Whatever you put on top, it's in the mid layer
as well. So now from top to bottom, you're actually
getting your money's worth on your nachos. Yeah, gotta have
a lot of meat for the nachos, man, no doubt.
You can't have a nacho. Well, you've got to be
(01:23:39):
overloaded with jalapenos and nachos. I'm talking about overloaded with it. Yeah,
you have to, no question. Got to seven seven ninety Rob,
what's up?
Speaker 1 (01:23:50):
What's up?
Speaker 5 (01:23:50):
Guys?
Speaker 17 (01:23:51):
Ah Man, I think the problem and the difference you
guys are having is that, Brian, I think you're spoiled
with text mix because I Yeah, what I've noticed is
the difference is that if you go to a tex
mex restaurant and order a Casadia chicken, ate still yes
every time by default it's not There are no if
(01:24:11):
sands or butts as you say Casadia text mechs will
ask you if you go to an authentic Mexican restaurant
or a little hole in the wall or a truck,
they you hear, they see, they hear casadea and that's it.
Speaker 1 (01:24:21):
Conversation's over.
Speaker 5 (01:24:23):
It's that's what you get.
Speaker 6 (01:24:24):
It's a cheese and flour tortilla heated and you want
salca with it. That's what you'll get. And that's a
great thing. That is a great point. And that's why
I said, it's a Mexican dish, okay, and it is.
And that's it's not even a dish, but it's a
mech I I I look at cheese case idias, a delicacy.
Speaker 5 (01:24:40):
I love it. You can root you can't ruin a
cheese case idea. You can ruin one with bad chicken. Yeah,
there's no doubt, no rob, let's talk to Steve. That's
just that you can't make a better take than that.
She's solid. It's pretty on Steve. What's happening?
Speaker 15 (01:24:54):
Hey?
Speaker 19 (01:24:54):
Uh, by the way, my wife is Mexican. That you
could tell you Mexican stone eat flower to fias only part.
But when I really want to talk about is kahitas.
There is no such thing as chicken pajita or shrimp dahta.
Wajita means the skirt cut of the beef. So to
say chicken pahita it makes no sense because it's chicken
breast and a chicken. Could you imagine how small the
(01:25:16):
skirt would be on a chicken and a shrimp. Does
it have a skirt?
Speaker 5 (01:25:21):
I don't think so. I don't think so.
Speaker 6 (01:25:23):
Right, And we didn't even bring Hey, we're already on
this and nobody even brought up tahitas today.
Speaker 5 (01:25:26):
And I like it. Yeah, well I thought it kind
of was nice.
Speaker 1 (01:25:30):
I like it.
Speaker 5 (01:25:31):
No, you're right, keep talking. Let me hear that. Well,
that's it.
Speaker 19 (01:25:34):
I mean, you know, shrimp, there's no shrimp pajita. There
is no chicken pieta. Beef adda is the beef skirt,
and that's a fajita. So there's no steak potta.
Speaker 5 (01:25:43):
Right, Yeah, it's redundant. It's good call by you.
Speaker 1 (01:25:47):
I like it.
Speaker 5 (01:25:48):
It's a good point.
Speaker 1 (01:25:49):
Is the skirt cut, right?
Speaker 5 (01:25:51):
Is the skirt cut of the of the beef right perfect?
Speaker 19 (01:25:54):
And so there is no there's no ribbi fida, there
is no tender lois tota, there's only skirt.
Speaker 6 (01:26:02):
So if you order steak, you're saying, I just give
me a steak burrito. That's very basically what you're saying.
Speaker 19 (01:26:07):
Yeah, yeah, give me, give me a steak, Give me
a steak, Give me a chopped up steak with rice
and beans and all the sides and the tortillas, and
that's what you get. But you know that's the gentrification
of there you go.
Speaker 5 (01:26:21):
So I got Steve, great stuff and I love it.
Let's talk to Andy. What's up?
Speaker 1 (01:26:24):
Andy?
Speaker 21 (01:26:27):
John called and told me to call in and talk
about sports, So I thought I'd.
Speaker 5 (01:26:33):
How about it. We're gonna eat it for here.
Speaker 21 (01:26:37):
Hey, one thing for sure, Taco Bell is going to
be packed today when people ordering.
Speaker 5 (01:26:45):
Well, then they can bring us some free ones. We
love a Taco Bell cheese case of Andy. It's your
local bar. They have case of theas.
Speaker 21 (01:26:53):
Oh yeah, but here, y'all, I haven't even talked about
putting beans on a case of the Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:26:59):
That's that's because that would be a bean and shoes burrito. Okay, A.
Speaker 6 (01:27:06):
Case idea is a case of de with beans on
it is nothing more than a tran that triangle burrito with.
Speaker 21 (01:27:15):
Let me tell you, let me tell you. You give
me a chief case deer with no beans, I'm gonna
slap your face with it.
Speaker 6 (01:27:23):
WHOA, Now I can guarantee that doesn't fit into the
com Hey, what kind of case of anyway?
Speaker 5 (01:27:28):
You want? The one with beans in it?
Speaker 14 (01:27:32):
Hey?
Speaker 21 (01:27:32):
Shn shn. Let me, let me, let me, let me
throw something at you. If I give you a quarterback
coming out of the draft that has like a seventy
completion rate, has like a five and a half TV
the interception rate, I mean, just put up all kinds
of great numbers, and then I looked at his Russian numbers,
(01:27:57):
and his Russian numbers were three ninety nine attempts for
twenty nine cards. What does that tell you about that quarterback?
Speaker 6 (01:28:11):
Well, that he's awfully slow and has no clue how
to get out of the pocket and extend to play
probably Yeah, and then he's really slow and uncoordinated once
he steps out of the pocket.
Speaker 14 (01:28:24):
Yeah and yeah.
Speaker 21 (01:28:26):
Another comparison to a quarterback coming out of the college.
The same draft has three hundred and ninety three rushing
attempts were for fifteen hundred and forty one yards. Now,
who do you think the first quarterback is?
Speaker 5 (01:28:39):
Well, you got to give me a year, dude, I
mean we're doing what kind of e this is this year?
Speaker 1 (01:28:44):
This year?
Speaker 6 (01:28:45):
Oh, coming into this season? Well you're talking I know
what you're talking on one. Are you talking about Sanders
because of all the sacks?
Speaker 21 (01:28:54):
Yeah, Sanders, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Sanders, but we
only had ninety four sacks four years.
Speaker 1 (01:29:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:29:00):
And who's the other one?
Speaker 1 (01:29:03):
Dark?
Speaker 6 (01:29:04):
Oh, you're talking about Jackson Dart from Ole, Miss. Yeah,
he's he's a I think he's going to be a
sneaky I think he's a he's I think he's gonna
make somebody really happy because he's not gonna be picked
in the first two quarterbacks.
Speaker 5 (01:29:17):
But I tell you right now, i'd have him third.
Speaker 21 (01:29:19):
I can tell you that I think I think he's
bow knits coming out.
Speaker 6 (01:29:23):
Very similar, very similar. Yeah, and he says he's a
dynamic He's a dynamic talent, There's no doubt.
Speaker 21 (01:29:30):
Yes, Sanders, that just screams at me and and and looking.
Look at here. His two years at Jackson State one
hundred and eighty eight fifty six yards. His two years
on a better and better competition eleven attempts minus one
hundred and twenty seven yards. The guy, Look, he's great,
(01:29:54):
he's he's accurate, makes great grows, but it makes good decisions.
But when he's own, he's horrible. I mean he's not
even horrible. He's worse than horrible. And you can't be
that way in the NFL.
Speaker 6 (01:30:12):
Yeah, especially at a time right now when we are
begging for guys who can extend the play.
Speaker 5 (01:30:17):
Andy great stuff man.
Speaker 6 (01:30:18):
Yeah, he's you know what I'm saying that they're looking
for guys because the play extenders are what we crave. Now,
if you're going to throw it from the pocket, you
got to be it's just a pocket guy. You got
to be so elite and extreme. That's where go. If
there's a two way player, meaning a guy who can
beat you with the feet. Look at Josh Allen. They
were craving guys like that, Guys that can destroy you
both ways and of those three, and Ward's pretty good
(01:30:40):
at it. Jackson Dart's probably the best that both combined.
Wards of awards got so much game in him when
it comes from behind. And if you're just talking about
guy's gonna sit back there and deliver and take the
hit Sanders of the three. But what are you looking for?
And people are craving versatility. I'm telling you I think
Jackson Darts sneaky in this draft. You keep an eye
on I have. I feel pretty good about it him.
Speaker 1 (01:31:00):
Here.
Speaker 4 (01:31:00):
Yeah, let's let's talk a little football. There's a wide
receiver that just got released. There's a couple more that
are free agents. Will the Texans get in on trying
to grab one of those wide receivers?
Speaker 1 (01:31:10):
That's next.
Speaker 2 (01:31:13):
The Shawn Salisbury Show continues.
Speaker 5 (01:31:15):
And you know, now you know.
Speaker 6 (01:31:20):
Huge And I've always told you when you ask, some
people say salary cap Hell, there's hell. But if you're
going through hell, keep on moving. You know the cut, right,
if you're.
Speaker 5 (01:31:29):
Going through hell, keep bongo and do Yeah. Okay, so
there you go.
Speaker 6 (01:31:37):
You can always manipulate the cap. Dude, if you're paid
with one small with just a little change in how
you pay him. He's still going to get his maybe
get more upfront. However, you that's the cap. I'llgist if
you have a handful of guys on your team that
are willing to restructure, not not take a pay cut, restructure,
you can move things around and get players. So whenever
you hear yeah, I met salary cap, says salary cap, Well,
(01:31:59):
I know that there are those times, but there's always
a way to make it work if players are willing
to work with you.
Speaker 4 (01:32:05):
Yeah, restructure on one little move. They're not a pay cut. Yeah,
it's not a pay cut. It's just a way to
move money around. You can convert salary to bonuses, pro
rate them over the remaining years of the deal for
the cap purposes.
Speaker 5 (01:32:18):
So good for the Texans.
Speaker 8 (01:32:20):
Man.
Speaker 4 (01:32:20):
Nine point eight million dollars cleared by restructuring Nico Collins' contract.
There you go, man, seven one three two one two
five seven. I you talking a little football? What's that biscuit?
Speaker 1 (01:32:31):
Hey?
Speaker 14 (01:32:32):
Quick question, lileman, would you rather have Dgs?
Speaker 11 (01:32:34):
So?
Speaker 14 (01:32:34):
Would you had rather have Adams?
Speaker 5 (01:32:37):
Oh? Man?
Speaker 4 (01:32:40):
Oh Man, I don't know. DeVante Adams is kind of different, man.
But Steffan Diggs had a really good year. How old
is Davante Adams.
Speaker 5 (01:32:47):
Let's see.
Speaker 14 (01:32:50):
Two.
Speaker 4 (01:32:51):
DeVante Adams is thirty two and Stefan Diggs is thirty one.
Stefan Diggs is coming off of uh off of a
what a c L injury? Who's cheap probs?
Speaker 5 (01:33:05):
I would think a fair question. Who you'd want? I'm
telling you what.
Speaker 6 (01:33:13):
DeVante Adams has still got tread on that tire and
he's not coming off an injury.
Speaker 14 (01:33:17):
Yeah, hey, hey, Sean. One of the things and it
looked like me going into that season, Sean, and it's
looking like it.
Speaker 1 (01:33:27):
Pile on time.
Speaker 14 (01:33:28):
Now, Okay, well let me say the do is accurate
with his throws. That's that's a big attribute to have
as a quarterback.
Speaker 5 (01:33:39):
And he'll stand in there and take a hit.
Speaker 14 (01:33:41):
Now, stand in the pocket and it's collapsing around and
he's not looking at the line. He's looking down the
field trying to deliver the ball. I'm like, Okay, that's
type of guy you want. One of the things to
me Sean has not talked about enough is Chad has
thick skins. You know what I'm saying. And I don't
(01:34:01):
think that's talked about enough.
Speaker 3 (01:34:02):
Bottle.
Speaker 14 (01:34:03):
Some of these young quarterbacks are coming out is because
most of the time you're gonna go to a bad
team and not gonna play well. Are you gonna get
frustrated or are you gonna just you know you're doing
He's been in the spotlight for a minute and he
got being with his dad over there. He got big skin,
so he ain't gonna lose his confidence. You can bet that,
you know what I'm saying. What you want to say,
(01:34:24):
you can't tell them he can't play. And I want
some guys on my team like that. I want a
guy that's gonna keep this confidence. It's gonna keep on battling,
and you know, he's not gonna lose, you know. I
think that kind of justin feels, you know, I think
that kind of got to him playing in Chicago and
he kind of you could tell he kind of lost
his confidence a little bit. So I just think, let's
(01:34:47):
let's not just get hasty and then all of a
sudden reevaluate players.
Speaker 21 (01:34:51):
If he was doing pretty good.
Speaker 14 (01:34:52):
Before and he's shown the shine man, let's let's not
you know, get happy about guys that throw the ball
in shorts and T shirts. Let's stay with the guys
that showed the formula. That's why CD I couldn't understand
why he dropped.
Speaker 2 (01:35:08):
I mean the same thing.
Speaker 14 (01:35:09):
He's not athletic or now man, but he throws the
ball right, yeah, the right person.
Speaker 6 (01:35:15):
Yeah, this g a great point. Well, we'll discuss that
great stuff. He's He's spun on about a couple of
things here. We do a lot of like players up
and down, we listen, we we over evaluate. Well, I'll
tell you what we do in the offseason. We talk
ourselves out of players as opposed to talk ourselves into him. Now,
I'm talking about when they're highly ranked. Right, you may
talk yourself into a third round or into the second round,
(01:35:36):
but you'll talk yourself out of a top ten guy
and move him out right. And then if somebody has
a good workout in shorts and a T shirt, we'll
find a way to talk talk him into the first
round or higher up in the first fifteen. But with
Shdor Sanders, the things that I do like are the
fact that he has been hit a lot, and he
stood in there and delivered the ball and was pretty
damn durable while he did. I'll give you listen. Whether
(01:35:59):
you like Colorado the way they're doing it or away
deon recruits and all that stuff, it doesn't matter. His
son wasn't afraid to get hit and he took a
lot of them. Secondly, and I think then he is
accurate with the football and he can push the ball
down the field.
Speaker 1 (01:36:14):
He is he is.
Speaker 5 (01:36:15):
He is accurate at least in college.
Speaker 2 (01:36:17):
Right.
Speaker 6 (01:36:17):
He can make some throws, and he did a great
job of throwing his team back into it a few
games as well. And I'm with Biscuit. The one thing
I know about him, While he's some of the things
people don't like, extremely brash and arrogant, but that's part
of DNA. His pops was like that, but his pops
was His pops proved it every time he stepped out there.
And we'll find out if he can deliver that on
Sundays and how he'll handle big failure. He had some
(01:36:39):
failure at Colorado, he'll have failure in the NFL, and
it'll be different types of failure because now you're you're
playing for you know your future and your career because
the next step if you're not playing well after a
few years is finding a new career. But we're not
there with him, but he will the one thing about
that DNA he got from d On. I've never heard
anybody talk d On out of doing his thing. So
(01:37:02):
if the DNA goes from him to his son at
the NFL level, I don't I don't think he's gonna
have the career on the quarterback that his dad has
a defensive back. But that is a good thing to have,
because I'm going to tell you there are going to
be a lot of guys, and there are a lot
that wilt at the first sign of getting their ass
handed to him.
Speaker 5 (01:37:20):
He has not done that.
Speaker 6 (01:37:21):
Now, there's still some things that by he's he's probably
it feels like he's a little too casual right now
on some things in the interview process. I think it's
a I think it's a I think the reward's nice.
I do I think there be there can be a reward.
I think if you take him in the first three picks,
it's a pretty big risk. But I also know this,
and I'm with I. I don't just look at the
(01:37:42):
physical skill. As a matter of fact, I think guys
eliminate themselves mentally and emotionally at that position quicker than
they do physically. I think the mental and emotional accept
makes the physical either better or worse. More than the
physical makes the mental or emotional better. He makes you
know what I'm saying. I think more guys can be
physically gifted and throw the ball, but can lose it
(01:38:03):
because they're either not mentally prepared or emotionally they can't
help being booed or throwing three picks. The other side
is I think guys who are mentally and emotionally tough,
even if they're not as physically good as you, will
survive longer because they can get through the crap. We
got to find out if he can get through the crap.
Speaker 4 (01:38:18):
On Sunday seven, seven ninety is the number to join
the Texans clear out some cap space. What could that
mean for free agency?
Speaker 5 (01:38:27):
That's next.
Speaker 2 (01:38:30):
The Sean Salsbury Show continued.
Speaker 4 (01:38:34):
Texans clear up almost ten million dollars of cap space
by restructuring Nico Collins deal.
Speaker 5 (01:38:40):
So we're talking about here on the show. Talk to John.
Good morning, John, Hey, good morning guys.
Speaker 22 (01:38:45):
Hey, uh you know on the free free agency market, Sean,
I was wondering, well, there's a couple of things that
are interesting. One is, what do you think of Ronnie
Stanley offensive tackle Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 1 (01:38:58):
I mean, he's he's available.
Speaker 5 (01:39:00):
He's he's a monster, a rade.
Speaker 1 (01:39:04):
Yes, that is a major, major.
Speaker 22 (01:39:06):
Upgrade left tackle, and we need an upgrade on left tackle.
You know, the Patriots have offered four years, one hundred million.
I think it's sixty five million guaranteed. The Ravens have
offered uh, I think it's sixty million forty three guaranteed.
Speaker 5 (01:39:20):
But he's worth every.
Speaker 1 (01:39:25):
I would love to see that. I would love to
see the Texans trying to try to make it happen.
Speaker 22 (01:39:30):
I mean, that's that would be a huge upgrade and
a big you know, I think that'd be a big
plus for offensive line going into this coming season because
that present guy is I think it's his last year.
He's come on his contract if I remember right. But
but you know, we can find something for him. But
I but I think stan I think Stanley. I think
it's just too good to pass up. And then I
(01:39:52):
see that the Vikings are going to go a different direction.
They're not going to franchise take Darnold, and but the
rumors that the Titans are going to try to get him,
and we'll see how that goes. But Anyways, I want
to get just get back to Stanley. I would just
love to see that happen. I mean, that is something
that we need because I've been saying all along, we
just need to get some experience.
Speaker 1 (01:40:15):
You know, good tough, big, talented.
Speaker 22 (01:40:18):
And dogs you know that'll play that offensive line. He's
one of them that we could really use. So anyways,
I don't want to chime in on that.
Speaker 6 (01:40:24):
See what you thought, you're You're one hundred percent correct,
regardless of if you went and got him and he
came here and you decide you're going to keep Tunsling.
Book ends, Ronnie Stanley'd be good enough to play either
position or you have to move one, whatever it is.
I think Ronnie Stanley's one of the best in the
league and left tackle no matter where he goes, it's
an upgrade to your line, period, and he's gonna be
worth the money he pays, and somebody probably overpay for him,
(01:40:46):
probably should. So it is they're hard to get and
when you get him, you've got to try to keep him.
You got to be a fixed you of your team.
And I'm gonna tell you what the Baltimore Ravens should
up there, Annie, because I'm gonna tell you you might
want to keep that guy.
Speaker 4 (01:40:58):
Yeah, you might want to keep him. Yeah, I agree, man,
he's really really damn good. Uh seven seven ninety Willis,
Good morning.
Speaker 2 (01:41:07):
Board guys.
Speaker 1 (01:41:09):
Sean, I got a question for you. I know that the.
Speaker 2 (01:41:12):
Thanks try to bring the offensive line.
Speaker 21 (01:41:14):
What do you think about Will Frost and the Colts?
Speaker 14 (01:41:18):
Do you think he might be somebody that will be
a good fit there or he might be a little
bit too too expensive for.
Speaker 5 (01:41:24):
Their taste as far as the contract goes. And he said,
I get cut out? Who's again? Willis? You cut out?
And you said the name? He said that some is
somebody from the Colt.
Speaker 21 (01:41:34):
Which, yeah, well Will Frost and the Colt.
Speaker 6 (01:41:37):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know you're talking about I didn't
hear you said, yeah. I the question is and it's interior, right,
you're talking play.
Speaker 1 (01:41:44):
He could tell you that's all.
Speaker 5 (01:41:45):
He's a Guarden. I know he played Garden Indian.
Speaker 6 (01:41:46):
I'm on on Dan Dockets the show every week there
and we discussed their offensive line at nauseum. I think
when it comes to this and Willis, it's great to
hear from you. Brother always is one of the best
people I know. Is that the interior is a major
weakness or the sustaining that continuity here, So you may
have to overpay for that position. And I'll be honest
with you, I don't mind overpaying a little for a
(01:42:08):
guard because those guys, especially if you're not a guy
who executes on the outside the perimeter of the pocket
and an RPO game, Stroud can buy time. But his
games between the you know, between the tackles and take
care of is this and then buying your time with
underrated feet.
Speaker 5 (01:42:22):
I'm looking.
Speaker 6 (01:42:23):
Yeah, I have zero problem overpaying for a guard at
this stage right now where we are at the Texans.
When I say overpay, I'm not talking about blow them
out of the water, but I need a stout stud inside.
Then when I plug him in there, I don't have
to look at that position again for the year. And
that is a weakness here. Hell yeah, I could see
them getting into the fray and one team's loss in
the division would be a bigger team's gain with it.
(01:42:44):
I don't know where they're going to go or what
they're going to spend, but they are. I think they're
going to have to be willing to overspend a little
for interior because the interior on both sides of the
ball would probably be two places they need to address
aside from wide receiver. Great point. Listen, and you you
got to sew it up. And you know this willis
You've seen football for years. You've got to sew up.
(01:43:05):
When you've got a quarterback, you don't ever want it
to be where that part the quarterback has to worry
about that. I can deal with a left tackle or
you know, pass rush because I can move and slide
when it's at your feet. When you're a pocket guy.
There's nothing more distressing for a quarterback than happen to
constantly throw with people at your legs and hit you
in the mouth. Now, you got to be decent at it.
But you and so they have got to work inside
(01:43:27):
out on this team. You've got to work inside out
for this team offensive and defensive front. Offensive line and
defensive front. So good point, brother, I appreciate it. Great
to hear from you, my man. Always all right, I
appreciate it. He's one of the best people you will.
Speaker 5 (01:43:40):
Ever he is.
Speaker 6 (01:43:42):
He is a phenomenal, phenomenal human being, an overcome prostate,
I mean, just everything. And if you want a guy,
if you're having a bad day. That's a guy you
want to whatever, whatever, you can run into him, it
doesn't matter. That's a that's a human who cares about
other people. Love him, Love him great man. Haven't heard
fro him in a while? Man, good to hear uh
first voice?
Speaker 4 (01:44:02):
Yep he is seven one three, two two five, seven
ninety is the number to join us. Take a look
at some of these available wide receivers. Because the Texans
get in on Davante Adams.
Speaker 5 (01:44:10):
That's next. This is Craig Vigio.
Speaker 23 (01:44:15):
You're listening to Sean Salisbury on Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 5 (01:44:19):
Oh you're home with the Strows.
Speaker 6 (01:44:23):
I'm gonna tell you he's still smoking at Chiba too, right,
Oh yeah on Cheba R.
Speaker 5 (01:44:26):
Yeah yeah, he loves much in the marijuana. You know what,
Wilbur might live till he's one hundred and fifteen. Well,
I'm dead serious.
Speaker 4 (01:44:32):
All it takes is a couple of Doctor Pepper's a
day in a little you know, a little bit here
and there.
Speaker 5 (01:44:36):
Yeah, man, or a big blunt smoking at marijuana. Uh yeah,
you got the chiba.
Speaker 1 (01:44:42):
Man.
Speaker 6 (01:44:43):
Hey, let me get back to uh buck fifty. He'll
live to he's about a Buck fifteen, he's ninety one.
Speaker 5 (01:44:48):
Ninety one, about to be ninety two. Man, you gotta
love Wilbury. Then, well he lives out here in guys, Yo,
what is Handy?
Speaker 8 (01:44:53):
Want you guys go back to talking Taco Bill and
Taco Mayo because they don't.
Speaker 5 (01:45:00):
He don't want to hear all last scene, tell Andy
tell Andy to tell Andy? Did he want us to hum?
Speaker 21 (01:45:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:45:07):
I know where you're going exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:45:12):
You know what?
Speaker 6 (01:45:12):
He doesn't want to listen, but that bitch keeps calling
it and telling us he's listening. Hey, I don't want
to listen, but he's called that's our guy.
Speaker 12 (01:45:20):
Man.
Speaker 5 (01:45:20):
I love Andy and he makes me laugh.
Speaker 6 (01:45:22):
And you know what, he's so subtle with it, as
funny as hell his pronunciation to day and he's how
many times he told us.
Speaker 5 (01:45:28):
To go, I don't want to hear you say? Well,
John says the same thing. I guess what we still say.
I'll talk to you tomorrow and exactly with you. John
will talk to you guys tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:45:36):
Man.
Speaker 5 (01:45:37):
And he's an all time classic man. I love his ass.
Speaker 1 (01:45:39):
What we what we you give?
Speaker 5 (01:45:41):
Laid off the nickname man? What what you used to
call it?
Speaker 1 (01:45:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:45:43):
He's been good. He's been good.
Speaker 1 (01:45:44):
Man.
Speaker 6 (01:45:44):
What you used to call me and Andy? You were
you had done you were doing it and he got
a fight once. Yeah, yeah we did.
Speaker 5 (01:45:48):
Yeah do Dan Patrick? Well you were doing Dan Patrick.
Speaker 4 (01:45:51):
And it was the the Monday or Tuesday after Anthony
Richardson tapped out in the middle of a game late
in the game, tapped out.
Speaker 5 (01:45:58):
I'm tired, I'm fat, out of shape, even though he's not.
He's a unit. Yeah, man, Me and me and Andy
had it out and then he called the next day
and we were fine. Well, that's that's what's good about
any there's no grudge. No, he's a cagey veteran.
Speaker 1 (01:46:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:46:09):
Yeah, me and John. Actually, why is it always I've
gotten into it with two calls.
Speaker 4 (01:46:13):
Well, actually the John, it's two Johnson and Andy, John
from Magnolia, which he called and apologized the next day,
which was last week. And then it was John on
the Northwest I was shoot his dog, and then it
was Andy. Me and John got into it about Anthony Richardson,
and then me and Andy, Andy got into it about
Anthony Richardson.
Speaker 6 (01:46:31):
Anthony Richardson is your spark play? I guess man, that's
the common denominator. But yeah, I love our guys because
you can battle, yea, disagree, get after it, right back
at it like nothing else happened to that.
Speaker 5 (01:46:42):
That's a case. That's Andy Andy John Cage, old school
man man, gotta love it. I want to find out
where his local bar is and show up one night.
He'll have We already know what he's drinking. Yeah, we
already know what he's drinking. Yeah, shiner bach. Yeah, cold beer.
He ain't, he ain't, he ain't doing it. Say man,
you're listening. You know it's up. Yeah, No, i'd get
(01:47:04):
to Andy some spindle tap. Now he didn't drink spindle tap.
Speaker 6 (01:47:07):
Well, he'll he gonn learn if we him and I
are having a beer in my house. I love our guys, though,
fight him. But what he called specifically a call back
and tells.
Speaker 5 (01:47:14):
Not Triple what you say, Hey, I'll tell him? Or yeah, yeah,
those guys don't listen. We don't listen, so there you go.
Speaker 4 (01:47:22):
No, hey, Triple, he did come in, uh during the
break and tell us about some movement coming in Hot
Kansas City Chiefs are engaged in trade discussions surrounding four
time Super Bowl champions Joe Thuney and two time All
Pro lineman.
Speaker 6 (01:47:37):
Yeah, normal position guard. He's a pro bowler as the
guard and really good. They had to move him to
tackle because he's versa and they need help. And he
struggled a little bit at times against quicker pass rushers
and you saw it in the Super Bowl. Joe thun
he's a hell of a player. He's gonna make Chicago better.
That is a good get and they if they get him,
if this is you know, finished, and they get this
trade done, he is going to up Caleb Williams and
(01:48:01):
the interior there and he will be a great get
for the Chicago Bears if they can pull it off
in for a fourth round or if I'm Chicago.
Speaker 5 (01:48:10):
That's the theft in Kansas City.
Speaker 6 (01:48:12):
Must have a plan because Thuny outside is solid, but
that's not his normal position. Inside, he's a garden. He'll
go and play good football there. And you know what
their head coach is thinking, I need alignment, i need
lineman and a line like I had in Detroit. I've
got to give Caleb Williams a chance to succeed and
then go extend the play. I'm this is a good
get for Chicago. I don't expect Chicago. That division's brutal.
(01:48:37):
That's a vision. I know the AFC North is brutal,
but so is the NFC North. If the Chicago Bears
continue to make strides like they are and Caleb Williams
advances his game this year, Green Bay's not going away.
The Detroit Lions, even though they lost lots, still have great,
great players, and they're still their head coach is still there,
and we already know that the Bears are on the rise.
(01:48:58):
And the Minnesota Vikings are pretty nasty. It's a nasty
Oh my gosh, man, it's incredible. I'm curious to know
what the Vikings are going to do with their quarterback position.
I think that they're gonna I think since they didn't
franchise him, Sam Donald's going to get an offer from
somebody else.
Speaker 5 (01:49:15):
It's not gonna be fifty million, but it'll be significant.
Speaker 6 (01:49:17):
It'll be between the you know, maybe around the franchise
tag type money, right, which is can you imagine if
you're thirty five million dollars or franchise tags.
Speaker 5 (01:49:26):
I think is a little over forty or something range
forty two, somewhere in that range.
Speaker 6 (01:49:30):
He and I think that they are committed to the
JJ McCarthy being they got a veteran backup and we're
still remember Daniel Jones signed there for the Horison last year. Yes,
so do they try to work him in and let
him be the one that competes with McCarthy un Tel,
McCarthy's fully ready. See, I think they'd be smart to
bring Donald back and that I would have franchised him
for one year. Yeah, but those last two games gave
(01:49:53):
them a sour taste in their mouth and out that point.
Speaker 5 (01:49:54):
And it's a bummer after what he did.
Speaker 6 (01:49:57):
But listen, another thing, if you do sign Sam Donald
in Tennessee, gives you the veteran without having to draft
a quarterback, and it allows you to continue to work
with and hope that you can find something and Will
Levice at some point, right right right, and now you
got that and it and Sam still got he's still
in his twenties, dude, Yes, so he's and he's got
a good arm. And the truth is, with the top
(01:50:18):
two guys, his arm talent's better than better than Ward
And yeah, should say right right now, so you're saying, well,
that's not a bad gig. And then next year's class
may be better. And then all of a sudden, if
you say you want somebody in a lower or in
the second round, Quinn yours is a pretty good option,
as in, depending on where Jackson Dart goes, he maybe
even higher in the first round depending on the off season.
Speaker 5 (01:50:38):
He hass So Donald go somewhere. I think what you see.
Speaker 6 (01:50:40):
If McCarthy sells healthy when they open the season, they're
gonna they're gonna do what Washington did with Jade and
Daniels and what we did here. You run him out
there and go because he's in. He's a very bright
player and a good player and a winner. But he's
gonna he's gonna throw it a lot more in college
than he did or in the NFL, and he did
in college. Yeah, but you got to find out if
he's ready. I'm sure he's been studying and he's a
quick study. But you're taking a risk going from what
(01:51:03):
you took a risk with Donald, but you knew you
had the first round of behind him. Right now you're
commit You're going to commit to JJ McCarthy and hope
that he's ready, or I can tell you this, McCarthy
ain't winning fifteen games next year or fourteen games next year.
They're not going fourteen to three, no, not if he
goes to test right, No, I'm talking about it. McCarthy
is the stark mccordy, Yeah, he's not. He's not going
to be the They're not winning fourteen a yains no,
(01:51:23):
And so I'm anxious to see what happens with Sam.
But I'm happy for Sam Donald to get a chance.
But I know he fits into what they're doing in Minnesota,
and I'm sure that's tough on him to want to leave, right,
But mccarthyll he'll be fine, but will he give you
what Sam did next year? They're thinking even longer term.
But you wouldn't have let Sam Donald walk if you
weren't committed to JJ McCarthy, right, Because if you're going
(01:51:46):
to go out and get a veteran who's a veteran,
why would you just keep the guy you got who
knows your system. So to me, that tells me that
there it would take a lot more to sign Sam Donald.
He's going to go out and get some money. You
know what time it is, it's say fifty seven, time
to pay those bills. Dog, So what are we going
to talk about something on the on the other side,
we are.
Speaker 4 (01:52:06):
Yeah, okay, I got you tripley on the other side
of the glass, Megan, it happened for you.
Speaker 5 (01:52:11):
I'm Brianlima.
Speaker 4 (01:52:12):

Speaker 5 (01:52:19):
Yeah, you ready get in the nine o'clock hour. Yeah,

Speaker 6 (01:52:22):
Bills first, If you don't throw to the nine o'clock hour,
we'll be in the ten o'clock hour.
Speaker 5 (01:52:25):
You wanted to throw to the nine o'clock hour.
Speaker 1 (01:52:26):
You ready to go?
Speaker 5 (01:52:27):
Yeah, let's you are? Yeah, what do you want to
talk about? Hey, it's your teas today.
Speaker 4 (01:52:32):
Well, I've teased a couple of times talking about wide
receivers for the Texans, so we can hit that.
Speaker 6 (01:52:36):
Da Adams is the best free agent wide receiver available.
You want to talk about that in the nine o'clock hour.
Have to repay the bills. Yeah, okay, get to the
other side and we'll just let's get in the nine
o'clock hour. Talk about Deavonte Adams.
Speaker 2 (01:52:46):
Next k Houston k TV HD to Houston as a Rocket.

Speaker 5 (01:53:12):
Salisbury old by Salisbury Houston.
Speaker 2 (01:53:17):
Okay, let's do this. Sean Salisbury.
Speaker 3 (01:53:22):
To usc Truth, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.
Speaker 2 (01:53:24):
Bryan Lima, go Lobos. This is the Sean Salisbury Show.
Speaker 4 (01:53:32):
Sean Salisbury, Brian li Lima, Emanuel Elmore, Astros and Cardinals today,
twelve o five to the first pitch, Bring training rolling along.
Rockets lose to the Pacers last night. They've lost three
in a row. They got to get that figured out.
Davonte Adams released by the Jets early this morning. You
had the Texans restructuring Nico Collins contract. It's gonna free
(01:53:53):
up nine point eight million dollars towards the cap so
they will look to use that money elsewhere. So that
leads to our discussion here. Sean DeVante Adams was released
by the Jets. That's gonna say the Jets almost thirty
million dollars in cap space. Obviously, Devonte Adams went to
(01:54:15):
the Jets with Aaron Rodgers were not with him, but
Aaron Rodgers was the quarterback there. You know him and
Davante are super tight. He is the best wide receiver
in this free agent class. But there's some other guys
that are out there. Stefon Diggs Cooper Cup is still
a part of the Rams, but they're looking to trade
him obviously. Deebo Samuel was just traded to the Commanders
(01:54:36):
for just a fifth round pick. Texans need some depth
at the wide receiver wide receiver position. With Tank Dell,
he's actually going going He's gonna have some surgery today
on that knee, which gruesome injury for him, is probably
going to keep him out all of this coming season.
So I ask you, do the Texans try to get
(01:54:58):
involved in maybe going after Davonte Adams, maybe just going
after Stefan Diggs Again. They need to upgrade man, They
or not upgrade, but they need to add to the
depth of the wider Siver.
Speaker 6 (01:55:09):
Personally think they need to get now. Unless they think
they're gonna get a great wide receiver with the twenty
fifth pick of this three of twenty five that were
there twenty five, then I think you have to look
long and hard about a veteran on a shorter term deal. Listen,
why you wouldn't. Well, okay, so right now, who's who's
(01:55:33):
the starting receiving corps.
Speaker 4 (01:55:35):
You've got Nico Collins, You've got John Metchi and Xavier Hutchinson.
Stefan Diggs is gone. One as a tight end who underachieved.
Yeah in Dolphin Schultz. So you've got one game breaker
and a monster and two other guys that show flash
as the potential but you're not sure how they're gonna
(01:55:57):
play every day. You got one that's not gonna play
this year because his knee is so it was such
a gruesome injury. And you got one who's no longer
on the roster. He's a free agent and other teams
now can bid for him. It's now become a which
was a strength going in when Tank Dell's healthy and
Stephan Diggs, it's now become a weakness. When I say weakness,
I'm talking about just because the lack of dominant experience
(01:56:19):
with the two and three guy. And then if you
want to go to four, yep, I don't think there's
any question. You have to have a receiver, and I'm
not so sure that you don't have to have more
than one for your depth. If you're not making a
call on DeVante Adams or revisiting Stefan Diggs.
Speaker 6 (01:56:35):
I think it's a major mistake. You have to increase
the bandwidth on the offense. You can't cause I can
tell you this. If it's Nico Collins and a couple
other guys listening, you know, I hold him Metchi in
high regard. I just think he needs more playing time.
And Hutchinson showed some flashes to me like he could play.
But you're gonna line up and DeVante's gonna catch ninety balls.
(01:56:56):
Stephan Diggs is going to do his thing. I think
DeVante Adams slide avance him for me a little bit,
although I can win with Diggs as well. But Devanta Adams,
of course, I mean, and you don't have to give
an eight year deal. I mean a couple of years
to get them in position to and Devanta Adams on
the right team is still a number one guy, So
(01:57:18):
I absolutely jump into the fray. Questions are what's your
number one priority with your first round pick? Is it
alignment or is it a receiver or is it a
tight end depending who's there, I don't think, Or do
you go in and try to trade for Meyer at
Notre Dame. As I mentioned from Notre Dame, the guy
Michael Michael Meyer, the guy who's the backup to Brock
(01:57:39):
Bowers with the Raiders, and I think they're trying to
move him. Do you get into that and get a
guy who is really productive college player and as a
good player. The problem is he just got Brock Bauers,
who is the best young tight end in the world
right now. So you absolutely have to upgrade the Ferrari
at wide receiver. You have to because first year coordinator,
(01:58:00):
you want him to feel like he's got the full
field to work with. And while I see right now
where we think that Mechi and Hutchinson can do a
good job and create depth, I'd rather have Mechi and
Hutchinson where I can put him in at two and
three or three and four if I need him.
Speaker 5 (01:58:14):
I need another guy. I need another guy. I just
don't know why you wouldn't even inquire about a guy
like Davante Adams.
Speaker 4 (01:58:21):
Yeah, so you look at some of these wide receivers
that are free agents. DeVante Adams is at the top
of the class as of right now. Some other names
here you've got, obviously Stefan Diggs, Amari Cooper, Marquise Brown,
Chris Godwin, Michael Thomas, Darius Slayton, Tyler Boyd. T. Higgins
was franchise tag by the Bengals. So there's some names
(01:58:43):
out there. And again, like I mentioned, Cooper, Cup still
trying to trade for him. But there's no doubt that
Devant Adams. DeVante Adams is at the top, thirty two
years old, he's still got the number one in him.
Pairing him then he's a bigger body. Pairing him with
Nico Collins wo Man, then you, like you said, Sean,
you have the other guys that are they'll play their role.
(01:59:03):
John Metschi's showed some flashes there that he's getting closer
and closer to being back to where he was.
Speaker 6 (01:59:08):
And I actually, at least when he was Meschi was
your number three this year, that he'd be even better
than the number two, because listen, if you're lining up
against Nico Collins DeVante Adams, your attention is fully focused
on them and stopping Joe Mixon. That's when that third guy,
the versatility of putting him inside putting him outside becomes huge.
(01:59:30):
I just to me, I don't think you're far off
on defense. A little more depth, middle, stout inside. I'm
be honest with you, if you're not looking to upgrade
your offense in like three different areas before you even
look at defense, for.
Speaker 5 (01:59:46):
Me, is a must.
Speaker 6 (01:59:47):
Now you're always going to take If a second rounder
sitting there and he saying he's a great defensive tackle,
then you go get him. But I'm convinced that offensive line,
tight end position, depth at wide receiver, and then their
home run hitter, which means I'm talking about a guy
who can go out and still make the Pro Bowl.
And that's one of those Devonte Adams Stefan digs still
having there's a there's a good list of them, but
(02:00:08):
that's where that's where it starts. Yeah, And I just
to me why you wouldn't want and you don't have
to trade for him? You know, I like Cooper Cupp,
but you have to you have to trade for You
don't have to give up an asset to get DeVonta
Adams now other than cash, straight straight cash, homie.
Speaker 5 (02:00:25):
You know what I'm saying. You like to call it CHD. No,
that's a that's a high fastball, I know, but you
like to call it CHD Cheddar. I know, but you
like cheddar. Yeah, I don't call it shed because that's first.
That's all.
Speaker 6 (02:00:36):
The Only thing about what I'm saying is you don't
even shorten the cheddar for Chad when you're talking about
when you're talking, but you don't tell yeah, right, because
chedd is just simple high fastball. So you're not going
to shorten cheddar for Chad. Chad's one dimensional FORBA. But
that's only one dimension for You're not even short in
cheddar when it comes to cash.
Speaker 5 (02:00:55):
No, you give me some cheddar. No, you give me
some chad because that's high cheese. Yeah, give me some wap.
What about alta kesa? Do you get small to casa?
Speaker 1 (02:01:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (02:01:03):
Top yeah, man a little top rail. Yeah you know
what I mean, Dude, do I do? I? So who
should the Texans go after before we move on?
Speaker 6 (02:01:13):
I'm going after both in the first one that gets
to where I want to go money wise, I go
Stevon Diggs advantage there because he's been here and he
was a team captain. DeVante Adams I think a little
bit better.
Speaker 5 (02:01:23):
Player right now. I like Davanta Adams. Yeah he made
a cool twenty mil Yeah, not bad. Hum, it's not
bad man guy can play.
Speaker 1 (02:01:33):
Yeah, we do know that.
Speaker 5 (02:01:34):
Yeah, he excuse me, actually, no, I'm sorry. He was
making more.
Speaker 4 (02:01:37):
He was making twenty eight aav because the way they
did that when he was with the Raiders and then
traded over to the Jets.
Speaker 1 (02:01:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:01:45):
Oh yeah, Davante is more expensive too. Yeah, that's another
got to take him to mind. Thirty two years old,
still got the number one in him. Many he'd probably
be pretty expensive, but he's gonna cost more in Stefan Diggs's.
Speaker 4 (02:01:57):
Yeah, there's no doubt Stevon Digg's coming off the thee injury.
That's the only uh concern I would see.
Speaker 1 (02:02:02):
You got money.
Speaker 6 (02:02:03):
You got to decide is the talent with Devanta adams Worth,
what you're gonna have to do in the gap and
to pay You're gonna pay him, yeah more than like
a guy like Stefan Diggs.
Speaker 4 (02:02:12):
Yeah, because you would have to. You know, you got
to look at the money aspect of it, because yep,
he is expensive. He'll probably follow Aaron Rodgers wherever Aaron
Rodgers goes, We'll probably back to Las Vegas. Yeah, well
maybe you know what they call Las Vegas, Las Vegas,
Sin City. Yeah, yeah, thanks, you're welcome, man, pretty you
know that's really nice.
Speaker 1 (02:02:31):
Man.
Speaker 4 (02:02:31):
Alright, man, I'm just trying to elevate the elevate the
show as much as I can, you know what I mean,
put you in a good position to succeed everybody around here,
absolutely well here in the studio.
Speaker 6 (02:02:40):
Yeah yeah, right here. That's all we wanted to put
us three. You're we're just looking out for us three. Exactly,
put no one but us no boo, no boo, but
yeah you boo.
Speaker 5 (02:02:52):
Yeah yeah. And we're talking about you know, the texts.
Speaker 4 (02:02:55):
Let's switch to these astros because they're man for whatever reason,
there's two national media outlets, uh sipping off some hater
aight yesterday with these astros. Should they be no, all right, No,
we'll discuss that next uh on Sports Talk seven ninety.
Should you be going to get some barbecue from Jbar
and Barbecue? Yes, you absolutely should, world class barbecue, live

got outdoor seating, they've got a dog park.
Speaker 5 (02:03:23):
Sean, it's all right there under one roof.
Speaker 6 (02:03:25):
Why wouldn't you go there? Exactly? You like great food,
it's there of all kinds it's the finest. And when
we first went there and said on that and put
that and ate that food that day, we were baffled
and couldn't eat it all that's on that platter. Couldn't
need it all. And then the location is off the charts,
but it's a place. It's a destination spot, whether there's
a ballgame or not. I know this sounds a little
(02:03:47):
low key, but parking matters to me down there, and
it's it's well, if you're a parking stop, which I
know you you are too, right, Yeah, absolutely down that right,
They've got that and the customer service services off the chart.
I was so impressed with the not only just how
clean and fresh it is, but it always feels new
but has the three. When you walk in, it feels new,
but when you eat the food, it feels like it's
(02:04:08):
been there for one hundred years. Right, So there's that difference, right,
It feels new amenities, but with that old school smell
and taste. And they got it and they work their
ass off there. I love jbar and Barbecue. So thank
you guys, not only for the partnership but for providing
what you're providing, and people are loving it. I'm getting
a lot of feedback fround which they love it.
Speaker 4 (02:04:25):

really played the game.
Speaker 2 (02:05:05):
Yeah, former pro QB right here. He actually has it
on his name tag former pro QB right here. Back
to Sean on Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 4 (02:05:18):
This article that I'm reading is from click to Houston

here in the city.
Speaker 14 (02:05:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:05:29):
He currently holds a position of United States Representative for Texas,
Texas eighteenth congressional district. He took the position of Sheila
Jackson Lee after she died. I don't think that he
was sick from.
Speaker 2 (02:05:46):
Reading.
Speaker 4 (02:05:47):
Oh nevermind. Yeah, he was battling bone cancer. Yeah, I
thought That's why I asked.
Speaker 1 (02:05:54):
I thought.
Speaker 6 (02:05:54):
I didn't want to I don't want to put that anybody.
I thought over the last couple of years, he was
battling some form of cancer.
Speaker 1 (02:05:59):
That's what I thought.
Speaker 6 (02:06:00):
He said he was okay, So he said he was
cancer free, but he had been battling bat only but
he was cancer free.
Speaker 4 (02:06:05):
So but is that how he died? That didn't know
it comes back? His cause of death has not been confirmed.
It's a really really long articles.
Speaker 6 (02:06:11):
So I was going down a bit, Yeah, because I
knew he was going through something and so cancer but
he was cancer free, and so we don't know if
it came back and that was the reason, or if
it was something else.
Speaker 5 (02:06:21):
Is that what you're saying.
Speaker 4 (02:06:22):
Yeah, so this was in twenty twenty two when he
had bone cancer, but that remember revealed that he free.
Speaker 5 (02:06:27):
Yeah, that's all that death has not been confirmed.
Speaker 6 (02:06:29):
Well, it's good that he was cancer free and hopefully
that wasn't well regardless of why if if that's the reason,
it's a bummer and the blessings to his family. Man sucks.
Man always sorry to hear that. You can difference of
opinion on anybody, but when it comes to this, you know,
give them. They deserve their you know, to have the
peace that their family does at least for sure.
Speaker 11 (02:06:49):
Right.
Speaker 5 (02:06:49):
Yeah, that's uh, that sucks.
Speaker 6 (02:06:50):
We served a long time man, so I'm sad here.
And by the way, I meant to mention yesterday's you know,
we talked about Dolly Parton a lot. She lost her husband. Yeah,
and she's been with through sixty years, I think the
marriage and through all the thing. He was just the
old blue collar guy that she married and never got
caught up in the Hollywood hype. Matter of fact, if
I if you Dolly Parton's husband five days ago, I
mean a month ago, walks in.
Speaker 5 (02:07:11):
Here, do you know what he looks like. Nope.
Speaker 4 (02:07:14):
They said he made like two public appearances with Dolly Parton.
Everything else they did on their own.
Speaker 5 (02:07:18):
And don't you love that though?
Speaker 6 (02:07:19):
Yeah, he said they wanted they kept He didn't want
to be in the line of it ever, and he
and she they but they obviously their relationship was awesome
or they don't know, say, married sixty years, but they
just did their thing and were able to remain work
in silence in private and be married in private. And
what a tribute to him, you know, trusting that and
her trusting him. Mean incredible, incredible relationship. So sorry to
(02:07:42):
hear about Sylvester Turner and and uh, also about Dolly
Parton's you know, other half. And I believe his name's
Carl Dean, if I'm not mistaken. I think that's his
name for uh, Dolly Parton's husband. I think that's his name.
I'd have to look it up if my memory serves me, right.
Speaker 5 (02:07:58):
Yeah, Carl Dean. That's good. He passed away at the
age of eighty two. Well, they had a hell of
a run.
Speaker 6 (02:08:04):
And Dolly Partons always seems to be a positive person,
so I'm sure she'll be okay. But that's sixty years
with somebody waking up the next day. I'm not sure
how you know how to act right, And a Sylvester
Turner's to his family as well.
Speaker 5 (02:08:16):
Yeah, it sucks man, either way. I mentioned it's when
you hit forty seven. He doesn't seem so old, does it.
But I don't want to. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (02:08:25):
Yeah, I turned when you hit fifty eighty, you're like eighty.
I've been a private by her live right, Yeah? Crazy yeah, crazy?
So Aaron Wilson NFL Insider. He did officially report that
Tank Dell will undergo ACL surgery today, so continue in
his rehab with.
Speaker 5 (02:08:40):
That brutal, brutal knee injury.
Speaker 4 (02:08:44):
He's let's see doctor Walter Low repaired his lateral collateral
and medial collateral ligaments, so the LCL and the MCL,
and now he's getting his ACL.
Speaker 5 (02:08:57):
Repaired today.
Speaker 4 (02:08:58):
So hopefully that goes successfully for Tank dolln he can
get his way closer, right, So. Astros Baseball CBS Sports
Shawn RJ. Anderson The Rider ranked some twenty twenty four
MLB teams that are most likely to miss the postseason
in at twenty twenty five.
Speaker 5 (02:09:16):
The Astros are number five on this list.
Speaker 4 (02:09:21):
He says the Astros enter the new year having made
the playoffs in nine of the last ten seasons, including
each of the past seven. As impressive as that is,
at some point the rent from such a run comes due.
There are few clubs who can maintain ultra competitiveness for
a decade without age win now trades and lower draft
picks taking a serious toll. I wouldn't be shocked if
(02:09:42):
the Astros find a way to make it to October again.
The West looks like a three team race, and who
knows that how that'll shake out. But I must admit
that the clock is ticking louder and louder. And it
doesn't help that the Houstons that Houston's last two offseasons
have given off the vibe that the organization doesn't have
a cohesive vision for the short and long term. It's
hard to reconcile the overarching thinking behind some of the
(02:10:05):
big moves the Astros have made.
Speaker 5 (02:10:07):
Well, let's hear what tell me your opinion of it?
Tell me your opinion. Do you think that the the
windows well?
Speaker 6 (02:10:15):
I mean, when you lose guys like they've lost, the
natural evolution is well closing. But how how kicked open
is it? And where they are now? Do you just
agree with it?
Speaker 4 (02:10:24):
I think that the Astros will make the playoffs. I
think we are just coming into a time where we
are seeing a different Houston Astros. I think Christian Walker
was a massive pick up for the Astros. It's not
being talked about enough because you've got to remember how
bad first base was, especially in the beginning of last season,
and then you had guys platooning there. It was Victor Karattini,
(02:10:46):
Yiner Diez, John Singleton, Dezenzo even played over there at times.
The offensive production was not very good, so Christian Walker
will help that. I know Bregman's not over at third,
but Essak perettis, if he can take what he was
doing in h Cago with pulling the baseball, he should
add more home runs to his total. The outfield is
a big, massive question mark, which we've discussed at nauseum,
(02:11:09):
and the pitching staff, if they stay healthy, it's pretty
damn good man. They're one through five if it's projected
to stay what it is with Fromber Hunter, Brown, Renelle Blanco,
Spencer Arighetti, Hayden Wesnsky, Lance mccullors is right around the
corner from returning. You can run a six man rotation.
Luis Garcia should be back. I think they'll make the playoffs.
I don't know if they're gonna win the division.
Speaker 6 (02:11:29):
If this will make the playoffs, the pitching staff alone
can get them hovering around the playoffs. If you're pitching
staff solid, healthy and does their thing, they'll be close
enough and wins, they'll they'll get enough plate production to be.
Speaker 5 (02:11:43):
Hanging around with a chance to win the division. Yeah,
but injuries there.
Speaker 6 (02:11:47):
If there's a depth problem and you don't get production
like we expect from first and third base and the
outfield doesn't hit better, that article will be spot on.
Speaker 4 (02:11:56):
Yeah, it will be, Yep, it will be. And then
there's also the middle of the bullpen. Some of the
younger guys, they're gonna have to step up. Man that
that there's some holes there. You got your eight nine
brian O Bray, you and Josh had are pretty damn
good in the back end of the bullpen. But Taylor
Scott is gonna have to pitch well again. Ors Force
Whitley worst, Whitley gonna fit in his his outing so far,
he's been ramping his fast ball up ninety six, ninety seven.
Speaker 5 (02:12:17):
He's looked good. Can he stay healthy? So there's some
if wot's.
Speaker 6 (02:12:21):
Lance mccullor's role on this team this year, starter or
bullpen guy. Yeah, it's there's still question marks there.
Speaker 5 (02:12:27):
Yeah, no doubt. So yeah, I think they make the playoffs.
Don't think they missed.
Speaker 6 (02:12:31):
I think they're in a battle for the playoffs. I
think the Division and the wild Card are within a
couple games of each other. Right, yeah, but listen, we
consider you want to give the easiest analysis in the world.
Get great pitching, they'll be in it, right, have average pitching,
it'll be a struggle all your I mean when I
say struggle, They'll be in a grind all year long.
Speaker 5 (02:12:49):
They'll be in a freaking grind all year long.
Speaker 6 (02:12:51):
They're not gonna have the luxury A team like the
Dodgers has no where your ninth guy can win a
cy young you know what I'm saying on pitching staff
or you know your backup second basement can play four
positions and go to the All Star Game.
Speaker 5 (02:13:01):
Yea, So they don't have that luxury, now, No, they
do not.
Speaker 4 (02:13:04):
All right, some national attention coming in I don't know
about an hour ago from some national reporters in regards
to Cam Smith of the Houston Astros. What did these
national media members have to say?
Speaker 5 (02:13:16):
That's next?

Speaker 5 (02:15:01):
H Did you get you might get lost of milk?
Speaker 1 (02:15:03):
It did?
Speaker 5 (02:15:04):
Yeah, yeah, his bunny got it. What is that the road?
Speaker 4 (02:15:08):
It's as Htown takeover its first birthday. That's right, he's
a mark.
Speaker 5 (02:15:11):
I think triil Berger's has a massive tenth there this year.
Speaker 6 (02:15:14):
That'll be awesome. I love Bunbee, and happy birthday to you,
my man. Love Bunby h Town takeover, big dog. You
don't any think about that though at the age town takeover. Yeah,
we're still using that. No, okay, so I don't think so.
But I love our guy Bun who's classic man. Yeah,
legend in this town. There is no doubt man one
of the goats. Maybe one of the goats, all right?
Speaker 1 (02:15:34):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (02:15:34):
From Jeff passon ESPN dot com talking about uh Cam Smith.
Speaker 5 (02:15:41):
Bear with me, we'll go through this real quick, he says.
Speaker 4 (02:15:44):
Camp Smith third basement Houston Astros, the main return for
Houston and the Kyle Tucker trade, has taken advantage of
the few at bats he's got in the spring and
at least made the Astros consider breaking camp with Smith
as their third baseman. The six foot three, two and
twenty five pounds slugger taking number four and overall out
of Florida State in the twenty twenty four draft, has
continued the heater that saw him ascend to double A
(02:16:05):
within weeks of signing with the Cubs last year. It's
not just the two home runs in triple and seven
at bats thus far. Smith also has walked four times
against one strikeout. Power is great, good swing decisions are imperative.
Both together is a rare combination of while the Astros
infield defense would be questionable with Smith that third and
escoch predis moved a second.
Speaker 5 (02:16:26):
It's going to happen at some point. Yeah, that we
start to think about.
Speaker 6 (02:16:30):
You know, we've talked about Smith as a corner outfielder,
but maybe that is their plans to add power to
the lineup, make him the third baseman. Maybe that was
you know what, Maybe that was their plan all along
when they knew Bregman was if camp Smith showed up
and did whatever after the Tucker trade, depending on where
what they were gonna do. Is it gonna be a process,
(02:16:51):
We're gonna have to move him to another position, or
are we gonna make him the regular third baseman?
Speaker 5 (02:16:55):
Yeah, he went out and got parades.
Speaker 6 (02:16:56):
You got a guy who's versatile enough to play second base,
and then you've got a big power bat coming in
and say we'll learn with him. If he just shows
us he can handle it in spring training. Maybe that
is the plan. Maybe that is a plan. And if
it goes awry, guess what you have Paradus can move
back to third base, Dubon and it can play second
(02:17:17):
if you need him to. You also got Rogers and
you still have al two Van left field.
Speaker 5 (02:17:20):
Yeah. Where else is the logic? It makes sense?
Speaker 6 (02:17:24):
Yeah, and you're adding another Now think about that when
you just talk about pure raw power. Got at first base,
got at third base, guy at d H and quite
frankly the guy behind the plates worthy of twenty five
A year two. I think, yeah, I can't man like
Victor Carrottine's going to be in this line up right,
not every day.
Speaker 5 (02:17:43):
But there's another BET's another good bat. I trust his batman. Yeah,
man I which hit? Yeah, I just for me. That's that.
Speaker 6 (02:17:54):
That is While it may be a little bit of
a risk early, I think the rewards so much bigger.
Now that's a that's a really good that's formidable power
sitting there in the middle of your lineup. Brother, I
can tell you that from what from then you would
go out to a parades. Yeah, I'll h Jordan you
(02:18:14):
Walker hit four, you'd probably early on maybe hit a
Yiner at five, and yeah, and Cam Smith at six,
Paynia seven, McCormick eight and and uh our guy centerfield, Myers.
I want to say, Josh Myers, say Jake Myers in centerfield.
That's your lineup. If that, if if passed, that would
(02:18:36):
be the batting order for me too. And and uh,
your first six is pretty damn good. Yeah, stop bad, man, Yeah,
stop bad.
Speaker 5 (02:18:44):
And you got it. And I take that back.
Speaker 6 (02:18:45):
You know, if Painia is it elevates, then you're that's
a damn good seventh guy in the order.
Speaker 5 (02:18:51):
He's a big part of this. This year has to be.
Speaker 2 (02:18:53):
It has to be.
Speaker 4 (02:18:54):
Yeah to the words right in my mouth, he has
to be. We've talked about it. We talked to him
a Nastros fan fest, Joe Spott has talked about him.
He has to elevate this season.
Speaker 5 (02:19:01):
There's no doubt.
Speaker 4 (02:19:02):
Third year for him, no doubt. First year was really
good as a rookie. His postseason was all time. Last year,
eh had some streaks, had some not so good streaks.
Defense kind of suffered a bit towards the middle to
end part of the season. This year, dude, it's time,
(02:19:23):
I like, you got to step up into that role.
Speaker 11 (02:19:25):
Man.
Speaker 6 (02:19:25):
And if he does, and that lineup looks like that,
you got to you gotta hell to peg going through
those seven players.
Speaker 5 (02:19:31):
That is a definite. And then if you get good pitching.
Speaker 6 (02:19:34):
Now the scene scenario for me changes, and like you said,
you're hoping the center fielder. You know, Jake Myers plays
better on the offensive side. You know, you've get good defense.
And if Chas just goes back to two years ago,
then then you've got at least you know, you got
to line up to lead the seven, eight and nine
are going to have to give you something. Yeah, so
I Jeff passing suggestion on that order doesn't bother me. No,
(02:19:58):
doesn't bug me.
Speaker 1 (02:19:59):
No, I like you.
Speaker 4 (02:19:59):
Man, if if camp Smith can continue, yeah, if camp
Smith can continue, obviously, get your get your bats in
spring training, make the most of them. And and who knows, man,
you know, could he get reassigned? Obviously he could, You know,
I would assume that's gonna happen probably later towards Camp.
But man for for him, dude just speaks softly and
(02:20:20):
carry a big stick.
Speaker 5 (02:20:22):
Oh God, don't know. And you're gonna tell me what
are your friends came up with that saying? Right? Tell
me what your buddies Davis.
Speaker 4 (02:20:30):
Oh Man, President Theodore Roosevelts, My guy used it in
the speech in nineteen oh one.
Speaker 6 (02:20:37):
Yeah, but you you finally got it right though. I
love it because you used to say, walks off, carry
a big stick. That means just be packing while you're walking.
Speaker 1 (02:20:47):
That's what that is.
Speaker 5 (02:20:48):
Instead of speaks off you you're like, well, no, your
shirt start walks off.
Speaker 1 (02:20:52):
He's said no, go ahead and look at the.
Speaker 5 (02:20:55):
Say walk lightly, yeah, walk lightly.
Speaker 12 (02:20:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:21:00):
It's my guy.
Speaker 3 (02:21:00):
Man.
Speaker 4 (02:21:01):
My favorite part, and I know you the listeners can't
see this is when I get on these little rambles
where I start to rant and it's like I'm about
to kick it back to you, and then I drop
one of these these nomass sayings.
Speaker 5 (02:21:13):
The face you give me every time.
Speaker 6 (02:21:16):
Sometimes when you start to set it up, I said, oh, hell,
here we go, but preparing for it, speak softly and
carry a big stuff.
Speaker 5 (02:21:23):
But that one, your neck turned real quick. You looked
at it and you're like, dude, really okay? Yeah you
got because I think, okay, man, he's gonna give me.
Speaker 1 (02:21:28):
So what's what?
Speaker 5 (02:21:29):
What are we going to take it back to you?

Speaker 23 (02:23:46):
Telling you, hey, want to say, how long has the
Jake Mars been on this roster?
Speaker 5 (02:23:50):
Too long?
Speaker 23 (02:23:52):
That what I'm saying is what I'm saying, he's got
to guarantee to go into the Uh, the season being
on that roster man, Yeah, you know is gonna start
the call in with like Maldonata, but mult least had
some redeeming qualities and he had to pitch staff okay,
and then you know he still gave some information to
the batters that it's you know, in changeable stuff like that.
Sometimes Jack Mark makes some crazy, crazy ass rocks to
(02:24:13):
the to the outfield that he can't grab a ball
every now that we didn't bring this defense which he bringing,
that's all I.
Speaker 5 (02:24:19):
Got appreciated rockets.
Speaker 4 (02:24:23):
Yeah, man, I've said it's Uh, I don't know a
lot about Jake Myers elite defender, gold gold glove caliber defense,
below average arm and he could hit water if he
fell out of a boat. Needs to figure it out
this year because that outfield it's a question mark.
Speaker 1 (02:24:47):
So we will.
Speaker 4 (02:24:50):
We'll see how that goes, all right, Hunter Brown on
the mountain today for the Astros over in spring training. Uh,
coming up the halfway point, uh from West Palm Beach.
Today it's Altuve and left jord On hitting in the
two hole as the d h Esuch. Perettis playing third base,
(02:25:11):
Christian Walker over at first, Victor Carrattini behind the plate,
hit in the five hole, Jeremy Penny at shortstop, and
then the six hole, Zach Dezenzo playing right, Mauricio Dubon
playing second base, Jake Myers and center Hunter Brown on
the mound, Ethoch playing the Peretta is sitting in a
three hole today?
Speaker 5 (02:25:31):
Blummer? You're ready?
Speaker 1 (02:25:33):
Are you?
Speaker 5 (02:25:34):
Victor Carratini something do Some people like to call it
Quarantini Victor shaken, not stirred Carratini.
Speaker 6 (02:25:43):
Some people like to throwing in in there and then yeah,
and they also like to throw it on the Spencer
arng Gety.
Speaker 5 (02:25:48):
Yeah, where's Aaron Getty? Is he pitching? Yeah? Maricio Dubon
is a fixture in your five? Who Getty? Is you
like to call it ar Getty?
Speaker 1 (02:25:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (02:25:58):
He's added some depth to his pitches. So yeah, I
said you you will see a sharper Spencer Arenghetty this season?
Speaker 5 (02:26:04):
Who's going out there third row? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (02:26:08):
I would think Renew Blanco, then fourth Spencer Arangetti and
uh and then five Hayden wasn't Eski. Hayden was an Eski.
Speaker 5 (02:26:25):
Why do you keep throwing You're like and now you're
like wex Nesty shaken, not third Spencer Arraghetty. I think
we're going to see a good year from him.
Speaker 4 (02:26:37):
Hey, did you guys by chance see that John Cena
turned heel over the Weekend?
Speaker 14 (02:26:43):
That man.
Speaker 5 (02:26:45):
And what.
Speaker 4 (02:26:47):
The uh an w W man the Elimination Chamber, the
pay per view event for WWE. You know, John Cena
has been a lifetime good guy in w W. He's
retiring after this year, right, he turned heel over the Weekend. Seriously,
it took national media attention by storm telling.
Speaker 5 (02:27:06):
You so he changed changed his way? Yes? Did he really?
Speaker 2 (02:27:12):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (02:27:13):
And for whatever reason, So look all jokes aside. I understand,
you know some people might feel the type of way
about wrestling.
Speaker 5 (02:27:19):
Whatever.
Speaker 4 (02:27:20):
This moment was massive in the grand scheme of w
W because it's Cody Rhoads, lifelong good guy, he finally
the champion. He's got a beef with the Rock, and
then John Cena comes out like they have this moment.
He's hugging Cody Rhods literally tells the Rock, go f
yourself on the pay per view place goes wild. John
(02:27:42):
Cena hugs him. The Rock tells John Cena does like
the throat slashing thing. John Cena pushes Cody Roads and
kicks him in the nuts, turns heel. Then they just
beat the brakes off him. Here's my really, this is
the really weird part. Guess who else was in.
Speaker 5 (02:27:56):
The ring with him? Kevin? Uh, what's the comedian's name,
Kevin Hart? Kevin, Travis Scott and I have no idea.
Why get the hell out of the ring.
Speaker 2 (02:28:09):
It ruined it for me? What the are you doing?
So we're gonna look.
Speaker 4 (02:28:13):
Back on this massive well, I mean obviously you probably won't,
but people will look back on this massive moment and like,
oh my god, John Cena, turnheel, John Cena joined the rock?
Speaker 5 (02:28:23):
Is that Travis Scott? Why are you there?
Speaker 6 (02:28:25):
And they daven let Travis Scott beat on Cody Roads.
He's such a dips He is such a dumb ass
that he legitimately injured Cody Rose. He ruptured his ear
drum because he actually punched Cody Roads.
Speaker 5 (02:28:40):
So I didn't know how to back off his fake
It looks like a real punch. Why is Travis Scott?
What am I missing with this? Ww apparent? It's this
moment electric, It'll get your bricked out. I didn't I
didn't have the Electric Moment mentioned being on my mingo
card that I had to do with Travis Scott, John
Zena the Rock and what's Cody Road. That's what we do.
Speaker 6 (02:29:02):
Hey, we are a plethora versatility, versatile versatility. That's what
it's all about. Don We'll talk about casadillas. Hold on,
