With football season picking up and the postseason in baseball on the horizon, the intensity surrounding the two leagues has grown drastically as we enter the fall season. Concentrating on Houston, the Astros open their final Silver Boot Series against the Rangers with a win, followed by a final score of 6-3. Switching gears to the gridiron, the Texans face off in an MNF showdown against Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, following a heartbreaking loss of 20-19. Here's the thing though, too, that I thought about this morning.

you've got nine games left in your five games in
front of them, so you would feel really good about
being able to clinch up at least one of those

Boston and New York do as well. But you know,
it's it just sucks you put yourself in the spot
like and it's really that the Mariners just got on
this stupid heater. If they weren't on this, if they
were playing like they've been playing the last month, you'd
still have like a two game lead.

It wouldn't it wouldn't matter.

Well, the good news is the Mariners in Kansas City
taken on the Royals who have kind of scuffled little bit,
but still, uh, they don't play well away from t
Mobile Parks. So I mean, is there a chance for

You don't need a fifteen game win streak by the

Mean they close with the Dodgers. What's the situation with
the Dodgers and their division injury?

Supposedly the Dodgers are also meeting like football meetings, watching
tape to try and get themselves out of their hitting lows.
So they're okay, they're reaching and scrambling for a lot

We need the padres that kind of like catch them
so that they are playing for something in that final series.

I agree, I mean, and you don't have I mean,
let's see, I mean it's pretty much just them in
the padres. Because I thought somebody said that the Giants
were gaining on them, but the Giants are nine games back,
so that's that's done. But no, I mean that that's
what you hope for in this case, because you're not
gonna get it from the Rockies. I mean, that's that's
gonna be three games easy and the bucket for the

Mariners right there. So I mean, you're one hundred percent right.
And I said it yesterday, Gordy. Four and two nothing
less like you. You cannot get through this homestand without
a winning homestand if you're serious about winning this division.

of the next two and then win two out of
three against Seattle.

I just that's yeah, four and two is that's not
crazy to ask.

I mean it wasn't as strong as when I said
if you get swept in Seattle earlier this year, but
it's dangerously close.

You're rerely losing the head to head to Seattle hurts
because you lose, they win it. You know, they can
get that separation much more.

Yeah, and then you want you want everything in in
