Speaker 1 (00:04):
Okay, let's do this.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Sewn Salisbury, the usc Truth, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Brian Lima, go Lobo, this is the Seawan Salisbury Show.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
Already already already.

Speaker 5 (00:27):
What a week?

Speaker 4 (00:28):
What a shup? Uh man, what a week it's been.
W N b Arenas will be back about a third full?
Yeah at katele clark'scapes? What what happened?

Speaker 5 (00:44):
I have no idea? And Kyle Tucker's still an astro
by the way, And yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Does does that the linebacker in San Francisco have a
resume because his football career is done? What a dumb
ass he's done? Ye may take your order please, I
hope he's got a resumes. Put the fries in the back,
laying it. Andre Campbell, what a punk? That game sucked
last night too, What a terrible game.

Speaker 5 (01:07):
I'm so boring.

Speaker 6 (01:09):
Just you know, raining who can did you really do
you realize that Cooper cup cut who Cooper cup Cuppa
didn't register one fantasy point last night?

Speaker 1 (01:21):
One?

Speaker 6 (01:21):
He didn't register one. They didn't even score a touchdown
on this lame ass game. Cup a cup man, good
miss cuppa cup?

Speaker 5 (01:32):
Yeah? How about walking?

Speaker 4 (01:33):
How about hey, Ken Lock could you go play? Nah,
I don't want to play today. You cut that guy now,
you cut him and you and anybody out there says no.
And I'd read a couple of people who said, oh,
let him back in with his team at Josina Anderson.
I'll call her dumb.

Speaker 5 (01:52):
Yeah, yeah, let's do that.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Let's uh, let's put let him back in to get
in that fraternity. His fraternity is a one person fraternity.
What a clown? Can you imagine letting teammates down like that?
That's hold here, man. I would have I would have
on his walk into the locker room if I'm Kyle Shan,
I would have said, do yourself favor, take your gear
off and leave it because you got that code you

(02:18):
got to get in the building doesn't work anymore. You
are done. And what team's gonna say, Yeah, give me
that guy. Let that guy come. Well, Sean, what if
he's going through some do oh well, didn't know one
of the teammates just did lose a child and showed
up and played Ricky.

Speaker 6 (02:33):
There was that and Ricky Pitersol literally got shot in
the chest.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Wait right, but I don't want to play, quit dude,
or we're gonna force you to run his ass out
of the league. There can be I mean, stealing from
a teammate like in a locker room is one thing.
Not playing for him, I've never seen anything like it.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Listen to what he put on his Instagram afterwards.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
I'm a big Oh did he put I'm a coward
and a bitch? Did he put that on there? Complete opposite.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
Someone is about to get a great football player that's
been badly misused.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
Oh well let's get it though.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
So you know what's picking you up, he basically said,
Zoe basically was telling you he wouldn't hurt. He didn't
have anything happening at home, He wasn't going through anything
because he was Well, that's look what we're teaching our transfer.

Speaker 5 (03:19):
Portal to do. Just what he does.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Oh, you're not playing. Let me let me be a
bitch and bail. It's called the bitch and bail society
we're in now.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
Yeah, yeah, bitch.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Complain, I'm a bitch and I'm gonna bail. That is
what we got. Now, it's set up. But it was
set up for the right reasons. Now set up for
all the wrong reasons. Start cutting college players. If that
guy doesn't want to play and he's planning on transfer,
or is a five star and he's the three, or
cut his ass he's eighteen. I don't care. He's not
a kid anymore. If you can get paid, you're a
grown ass adult out. Same thing with this guy. Somebody's

(03:50):
gonna get a player, and you're a coward ass franchise
if you're one of the thirty one that want to
pick this guy up, because the second he gets beat out,
and he will if he goes somewhere, he gonna do
the same thing to you. There is no more heinous
thing you can do to it to a teammate than
quit on them. Then that's the that's the the the
the uh pure definition of quitting on a player, quitting

(04:16):
on a team. That's exactly what it is. There's no compassion,
there's no heat. He had said, you know what I
went through. Something I heard at halftime, something went home.
My wife's having a baby. If he's married, I have
no idea. And then and you know what, guess guess
what we'd have done? Compact, dude, I get it, but
still probably at least talk to your teammates and tell
us and then go on into Instagram. And double down
and basically saying I got beat out, so I'm gonna

(04:38):
whind about it and walk off on my teammates in
the middle of the game. Took it out on his
teammates instead of the organization going in and talking to
them behind closed doors and saying why am I playing
to Kyle Shanahan the dude. The dude leaves his team,
and then and instagram says, somebody's gonna get a hell
of a player. No, you're gonna get a hell of
a coward. You're gonna get a quitter. You're gonna get
a guy who's basically just a clown ass. Bitch what

(05:00):
you're getting bitch and bail man. That's that's who we
are these days. Oh, I got beat out. I don't
want to compete. I'm gone. Oh in the middle of
a game, I'm just going to walk out on you
because I didn't get the start. Yeah. Please let Drake
green Law wiped the floor by far. I can't wait.

(05:24):
Please let somebody pick him up. No one's going to
pick him up. Please let somebody pick him up so
we can so so I can unload every ounce of
four hours I got on him. Devondre Campbell, you're a clown.
I hope you have a second career in your mind,
because the first one ain't it. Buddy, who does that?

Speaker 5 (05:44):
I have no idea. Man, who's such a move dude?

Speaker 4 (05:47):
I don't care if I had to play Cooper Cup
at linebacker. You ain't dude, You're There's no room on
my roster for you. No so an Instagram. Yeah, today's
a lonely day for you, Campbell. I got news for
it is that that is the thing. If you want
to lose everything about dignity, self, pride, respect, character in

(06:13):
one fell swoop, Yeah, you lost it all. And I
don't care if he's a good guy. He may be
a great guy going to schools and talking to kids.
Now you get to go into school and talk to
kids on how to quit, and they're already they're they're
already ahead of you because the next seventeen year old
is about to transfer anyway. So there's a lot of
those guys. They're ahead of you already. You don't need
to go tell them that they know.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
Can you imagine walking speech? Yeah? Man, I like to grind,
and I really my teammates. I love him. No, you
don't sure you do you got beat out?

Speaker 4 (06:40):
And unfortunately you can't transfer, but we can cut you. Yeah, this, dude,
there is there is no more heinous thing you can
do with a teammate. No, this is I'm telling you,
this is just as bad as if you were banging
a teammate's wife, god in the same lockerroom, which has
happened before. It's horrible. This is this is every straight

(07:04):
up tell me how, Tell me how when you walk
and you see him in the grocery store, if your teammate, hey, hey, hey, hey, Bud,
I got you.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
I understand why you live.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Way.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
Can you imagine?

Speaker 4 (07:15):
Hell?

Speaker 7 (07:15):
No?

Speaker 4 (07:15):
And I don't want to hear one forty nine er player.
Well he's a good guy. This is compartmentalized. He may
be a great guy, he's a dumb ass and he's
a horrible, horrible, horrible teammate.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
Awful.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Hey, somebody's is his agent? Who's his agent filling him
with this crap? Hey, man, I just left my Can
you imagine calling your agent? Hey you okay, imagine you
get hurt so you're leaving the field. No, No, I
I just I didn't want to play. Yeah, I told
I told him. By the way, can you call a
team up, man, they're gonna get a gret player. If
I'm his agent, I fire him. I told Kyle I
didn't want to play any more. If I'm his agent,

(07:48):
I drop him as a client. Yeah, because you know what,
because if you're representing me, you know what I say,
you're representing?

Speaker 5 (07:53):
You representing Yeah, a trash teammate, you represent quitting. I
don't care.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
I'm sure he's a great human being. That doesn't take
away from the fact he's a horrible teammate.

Speaker 8 (08:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
My guess is he got some character flaws and I
would assume and this is just and it just revealed
itself in the middle of a football game.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Crazy man.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
Here's a head coach of the San Francisco forty nine Ers,
Kyle Shanahan, talking about Devondre Campbell leaving the game saying
he didn't want to play anymore.

Speaker 8 (08:18):
Happened with Devondre Campbell.

Speaker 9 (08:20):
He didn't play it and he went into the locker
room at some point.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
Yeah, he didn't said he didn't want to play today.

Speaker 8 (08:24):
Play today.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
Yeah, the coaching staff.

Speaker 10 (08:28):
He didn't want I asked him why I didn't want
to go in so during the game or before No,
I was in the third quarter.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Has that ever happened to you where a player said
they didn't want to play in a game?

Speaker 11 (08:39):
No, he got demoted for this game.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
He was not going to play.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
No, he was gonna he was gonna go in when
Drake came out. Campbell, I don't.

Speaker 10 (08:52):
We'll figure out something, but I don't know that right now.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
Did he give you any reason why he didn't want
to play today?

Speaker 7 (08:57):
No, Campbell.

Speaker 12 (08:59):
I mean to hear players say I don't want to
play today. Does they create dissension, especially knowing that at
this point in the season, with the type of season
that this has started out to be, you kind of
need as much camaraderie as possible to be successful. Does
they create dissension amongst the team or did it not
really affect anyone? No one really notice.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
People notice, but.

Speaker 10 (09:22):
When someone says that you move on, he don't deal
with that anymore.

Speaker 7 (09:26):
With Devondre opten to not going to the game, what
do you need to do to ensure that you don't
lose the rest of the locker room?

Speaker 10 (09:33):
I haven't lost to anybody. That's somebody who doesn't want
to play football. That's pretty simple. I mean, I think
our team and myself. You know how I feel about that.
So I don't think we need to talk about him anymore.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
All right, let me ask you a question. First of all,
the last question, yes exactly. First of all, they went
on and trying to lead him. Hey, leading leading question? Right?
Come on man? First off, whoever that that wasn't asking
the female create camaraderie. Well, is there any dissension? Is
there any dissension? Yeah, it's fifty two dudes looking at
one like he's an idiot, idiot, right, and and a

(10:06):
horrible teammate. And then the other guy, well, you know,
do you need this for?

Speaker 5 (10:10):
What do you say?

Speaker 4 (10:12):
The lad the last dude who answer asked the question
about you before you lose out the team members? We
would lose out the team why because one guy's a cow,
lose the locker room, lose a lot one guy's He
was suggesting that Kyle's lost the locker room because one
guy walked because he didn't get to play. Yea, oh no, no, no, no, yeah,
that is see that's going into it. And you want

(10:32):
to talk about trying to to trying to write your
article for you. I don't know who those two were
horrible questions. Bad question, horrible, bad question, And Kyle handled
it right. And like I said, we don't need to
talk about him. If that guy shows up at the
facility today, he shouldn't even be allowed in the parking lot.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Yeah, lock the damn doors.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
I wouldn't even hire him out. And I wouldn't even
hire him to let people into the building. He didn't
even get to be a security guard. Yeahka, no chance, man,
you almos dropped an s mom, man I did. Here's
George Kittle, the tight end for the forty nine ers.
This is what he had to say about it.

Speaker 12 (11:02):
Does that create dissension?

Speaker 5 (11:03):
Oh my gosh, she asked.

Speaker 12 (11:04):
Again, disconnection on the sideline.

Speaker 13 (11:09):
Not disbelieve or disconnection like as a team. That is
one person who just decided not to, you know, play
for his teammates. And now I don't think that that
doesn't like, does make our office sod be like, wow, man,
you know we're falling apart. It's more of a or
like the defense, Hey, we're falling apart. It's more of
a one person making a like Mooney said, of a

(11:33):
selfish fit decision.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
And I'm with Mooney on that.

Speaker 13 (11:36):
And I've never been around anybody that's ever done that,
and I hope I'm never run anybody that does that.

Speaker 5 (11:41):
Again, does that create all?

Speaker 14 (11:43):
Right?

Speaker 6 (11:43):
Well, excuse me whoever that reporter is. She's asked twice now,
does that create dissension in your locker room? What does?

Speaker 4 (11:50):
Why does he just admit that I'm trying to create
dissension in your locker room by leading you into that.

Speaker 5 (11:55):
No, there's no dissension.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
We had a horrible character filled teammate any review Field
himself last night.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
I don't uh, I just don't get it. I don't
I have there is that you cannot make an excuse
for this.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
He admitted by his Instagram posts that the reason he
didn't want to he didn''t go in because he was
bummed and bothered that he didn't wasn't playing? Yeah, well,
he assured himself he ain't playing.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
Now, Yeah, there's no doubt. Triple Is that audio clean
of No?

Speaker 6 (12:27):
It's not, okay, I just kidding U, travert, I got
I sent triply just now some audio. Travarious Ward, he's
a starting quarterback for the forty nine ers. Basically, to
paraphrase what he said about Devondre Campbell, he said quote,
that's some sucker stuff to me.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
He's probably gonna get cut soon in.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
Quote probably yeah, probably gonna get cut. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (12:45):
Now I'll go all in on Kyle Shanahan and he
keeps him on a team, There's no way they keep him.
He'll be cut.

Speaker 5 (12:50):
We'll we'll get we'll see something probably in about an hour.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
And then I we'll be looking on that wire and
say which one of you go, Are you really gonna
pick him up? No, there's no way you can't. That's
that is a you want to talk about.

Speaker 15 (13:07):
The word.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
What's the word I'm looking for. I'll just tell you this.
It'll come to me. Is there, Derek, there is There
is nothing you can sit here and tell me that
is worse than what he did. I'm talking about as
a football player in the on a during game night,

(13:28):
missed assignment, all that forgetting your helmet, you can't where
you put it. To consciously quit on guys who didn't
make the football decision, go I have a conversation with
the coach. Yeah, after the game, before the game to
do that in the middle and think that your message
is a good one. Could he could? Could the guy
be any dumber?

Speaker 5 (13:50):
Well?

Speaker 4 (13:52):
To make that decision. Yeah, that's career suicide, I guess
is what I'm saying. You want to You want to
lose teammates and lose career suicide. And I don't care
what kind of human being is. I'll deal with them
as a human being anyway he wants as a football
player and a teammate.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
Horrible, horrible, awful. Nobody worse than the league.

Speaker 6 (14:07):
Apparently checking from that terrible man, The Rams won that
game twelve to six.

Speaker 5 (14:13):
What an ugly ass game.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Yeah, what it was? Bored the hell out of him,
so damn pouring and the forty nine ers. Let's not
forget the dissension of making it a bad the forty
nineers just start good.

Speaker 5 (14:22):
No they're not.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
I mean they've had a lot of injuries, but that
football team is in no threat or danger of not
only not making the playoffs, but of doing any damage
in the playoffs. Yeah, they're worst I've seen them play
in a long quite some time.

Speaker 6 (14:37):
Yeah, they're not going to make the playoffs. Rock Party
was pedestrian at at best. Matt Stafford really didn't play
very well last night either. Excuse me. The Rams will
take the win.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
They will. There's no doubt.

Speaker 6 (14:47):
Kyan Williams for the Rams rushed for over one hundred
and eight yards. All Right, we got a lot to
dig into this morning on a festive Friday. Kyle Tucker's
still an astrois of now. The Cub's making a hard charge,
a couple of new teams getting into the alley.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
Bregman Fray.

Speaker 6 (15:01):
We've also got to talk about the Miami Dolphins coming
to town to take on the Houston Texas. That's what
we're going to start next. What's gonna happen with the
offensive line. There's a couple injuries again for the Texans.
That's next.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
Hey, this holiday, give them what they really want. Give
holiday scratch tickets from the Texas Lottery. They're the perfect gift,
and you could be giving falla la la la, la
la la la lots of cash. Right, So give holiday
scratch tickets from the Texas Lottery and you could make
very holiday very merry. It's a good gift to give, right,
there's some coin, there's a chance of some big cash

(15:33):
and a happy feeling on the Texas Lottery.

Speaker 5 (15:35):
It's the perfect gift.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
Give those holiday scratch tickets from the Texas Lottery and
make their holiday, very special. That's the Texas Lottery Coach
Sark here, touchdown, Texas.

Speaker 16 (15:46):
You've got sports Talk seven to ninety Houston's hold of
Longhorn football.

Speaker 17 (15:51):
Back to the Shawn Salisbury Show some time off.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
Yeah, personal reasons?

Speaker 7 (15:58):
Why?

Speaker 4 (15:58):
Well, want to do the math. Let's see, struggling with
his game. The guy doesn't miss basketball games. Okay, he'll
take some load management. He's been playing like forty years
and and is the biggest beast we've ever had when
it comes to just the physical prowess and domination. So
a game struggle, yeah, uh, personal reasons.

Speaker 6 (16:21):
Timing of the year. Brownie played the other night, but
don't drop. Let's back came back up a little. His
son Bryce was on a podcast a couple of nights ago,
So what uh? What got going on?

Speaker 4 (16:33):
What could be the personal reasons? He don't got the VID?

Speaker 8 (16:37):
Does he?

Speaker 18 (16:37):
No?

Speaker 6 (16:38):
I don't think so. No, probably not got like nine boosters.
So he's fine.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
Oh that's right. He was pushing for his tenth Huh.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
Yeah, why why is he?

Speaker 8 (16:45):
Why is he up?

Speaker 5 (16:46):
I don't know, you don't know. I don't know. I
couldn't tell you.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
I mean, any speculation or you just want to speculate. No,
just just just just.

Speaker 6 (16:56):
You're just putting it out there because I'm just saying
he did. He's in prisons, so I don't think he's
throwing another party. But Lebron has said there's nothing ain't
nothing like a ditty party. So apparently, yeah, as we've
been told, that's what I've heard. Personal reason huh okay,
I hope me too. Yeah, they just finished mental health.
Second great greatest player we've ever seen in the NBA,

(17:19):
and he is the second. He's not better than Jordan
Oh No, but the personal read what do you think
it is? You got a hammy U triple? You think
he's got a hammy in? What do you think hammy?

Speaker 19 (17:30):
No?

Speaker 5 (17:31):
No, Hammy, no hammy.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
You think he just took personal reads off. We'll go
watch his son play, his youngest play some hoops. Yeah,
or maybe go to the G League game. No, probably
not take some time off.

Speaker 5 (17:42):
What do you think?

Speaker 4 (17:42):
What do you think it is?

Speaker 19 (17:44):
I don't know?

Speaker 4 (17:44):
Yeah, is he getting I mean he got his head
coach that he wanted. He's not gonna go start playing
in Europe?

Speaker 8 (17:50):
Is he?

Speaker 1 (17:51):
No?

Speaker 5 (17:51):
Probably not, he might, Actually he might. I don't know.

Speaker 6 (17:54):
I'm just saying if things get you know, too hot here,
you know, if.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
He represents Germany in the Olympics, you know why? Yeah,
I don't know. I just I.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
Don't have any idea. Indeed, I don't know if any
of those guys hang out are just.

Speaker 17 (18:12):
Starting.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
No, not my buddies.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
Those persons surprise, those personal reason will have you run
like a scalded dog, won't They ask Ellen de generous
what happened to her? She's over in Europe? So I know,
but we'll watch Tom Hanks as well. Why did they leave?

Speaker 5 (18:29):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (18:29):
I just didn't like the president the president elected. I
think they just want to see a new country. No,
I think they hugged excuse me, hung out with did oh?

Speaker 5 (18:36):
I did? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (18:37):
Oh? What what's going on with him? I don't is
there's something going on that I've I've got aware if
i'd been asleep, have I been?

Speaker 14 (18:44):
Not?

Speaker 5 (18:44):
What you're awake? But you're not.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
I got today?

Speaker 4 (18:50):
Is today, tomorrow?

Speaker 11 (18:53):
Today?

Speaker 5 (18:54):
Yesterday?

Speaker 4 (18:54):
It will be tomorrow's today for personal reasons tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (18:58):
Did you hear what y'all's Barkley said on the set
the other night Triple I just sent you the audio.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
It's not the one where he was interrupted said that's
probably not what we want to talk about.

Speaker 6 (19:06):
Not probably not a good time. Yeah, hey, triple play
that on the audio. Oh man, it's clean up, it's
clean just just uh yeah.

Speaker 5 (19:14):
Was this when Kenny said, this is the NBA on
T n T.

Speaker 6 (19:19):
It's Kenny the Jet Smith, Charles Barkley, sill O'Neal, and
Ernie Johnson.

Speaker 20 (19:23):
Good level, that's Steve and they played college basketball, so
did a lot of people.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
In the world.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
But you were a heavyweight.

Speaker 20 (19:32):
And it's like you said, you heavy You got to
wake your way up to.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
The You're from New York. That man challenge you be listening. Man,
he'll get you.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
You think you think jay Z or or not a
good time right now? Of course.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
You're silly.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
Many silly thicks fixed.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
The wall.

Speaker 5 (19:59):
Lamar, Oh my gosh, that's hilarious.

Speaker 8 (20:03):
Hey.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
The problem, the problem is what Kitty says, jay Z's name.
You gotta hesitate, So whose name can I put it?
You start going down the list. I can't put his
it and I can't put it. I can't put it.
I'm down to the sixty seventh guy. Okay, okay, he
skipped over Chrissy T by the way, sehn legend, Yeah, yeah, yeah,

(20:27):
here's a shock anyway, Oh, Kendrick Lamar too soon case
many Shaq got up and walked off the set and
then followed him. Oh what a frigging classic Saturday. Sometimes
you got hey, here's what I know. Sometimes you just
got to walk away, yeah, man, for personal reasons. Yeah,
coincidence exists sometimes, yeah, man, okay. Oh Lebron's okay. Oh yeah,

(20:51):
aren't you concerned about it? I hope he's all right.

Speaker 19 (20:56):
I do.

Speaker 5 (20:56):
I hope he's okay. Yeah, me too, hm hm.

Speaker 19 (21:00):
Hm hm.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
The boy could you want to see you? This guy?
And he starts talking like gun down down here, Well Clinton, no,
she went there, probably not a good right now. And
then he can't do there? And yeah what about this?
No they can't give you him though, I think, what
about a politican?

Speaker 1 (21:18):
No that?

Speaker 6 (21:19):
Yeah, yeah, I think One of my favorites about that
show is like when one of those guys cracks a
joke is you can hear the producing staff in the
background laughing out loud.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
It's real.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
It's real, right something, it's real, and having and and
deal with it. If you get offended by get over it.
They don't care, and neither neither should we. I just
it's it's it makes me. I don't know, man, I
just I I love Kenny and Charles Shack and Ernie.
That's what is what a freaking great great show. That's
a great show.

Speaker 6 (21:53):
You know, College Game Day used to be, in my opinion,
used to be the best pregame show.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
That's it. It's NBA on tn T right now.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
Because they entertain it's not just hardcore XS and I
mean they make you laugh.

Speaker 5 (22:03):
You know, those are transparent reel man. Yeah, they don't
stand up on chairs.

Speaker 6 (22:07):
Were dumb ass belt buck Panda to the country crowd,
you know, sit down, Pat McRae.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
And I love his show, So I love his show.
But his show but Chasmo Chuck and Kenny and and
Shaq and it's, uh, it's a freaking it's off the
charts great show. I don't I don't know, man, We're
we're crazy ass stuff going on.

Speaker 5 (22:30):
Crazy.

Speaker 6 (22:33):
Oh god, are they gonna do anything about those over
your jersey?

Speaker 5 (22:38):
I mean, what are you doing?

Speaker 4 (22:39):
You're gonna see a run on celebrities with different passports.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
Oh my gosh, they gonna do anything about those drones
over in New Jersey.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
Or well, if they were in Russia or China, they
just shot him down by now, no doubt. Well, you
know what we'll do, Biden will just pay them a
hundred million. Hey, let's give them a just give them
another billion. Maybe they could put it on their dog
on drone and fly back to Ukraine. That's a good idea. Well,
people are sitting here homeless in your own country. Nice jeez. Hey,

(23:08):
how sports doing? Yeah? Oh man, you know, excuse me.

Speaker 6 (23:13):
All week we've we've been talking about Kyle Tucker, Alex
Bregmant obviously all of those trade rumors. The latest is
the Cubs and the Ashles are still negotiating through a
trade for Kyle Tucker, but really nothing else since then.
The Texans play on Sunday, by the way.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
Right, and as Gerard Butler said that movie with Jamie
Fox was dat on movie law Abiden says, I'm gonna
bring the whole system down. Yeah, and it's gonna be biblical.
That's such a good movie, man, And it's and it's
about as true a statement as you're gonna see here shortly.

Speaker 5 (23:45):
That would be such or that is such a good
movie as Triple Lisa wait till January the year.

Speaker 6 (23:51):
All right, let's talk about the Houston Texans and the
Miami Dolphins coming to town on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
That's next, Shaun continued.

Speaker 6 (24:03):
An offense that plays well in warm weather. Obviously here
in Houston. You know, they've got a roof over the stadium.
They let's see one, two, three, four they've lost or
excuse me, they have one four out of their last
five to a tongue of iolo. Playing pretty good football. Obviously,
they got Tyreek killed Jalen Waddle. They've got good speed

(24:26):
on the perimeter. And I asked you a couple of
days ago. I'm gonna ask you again, Sean, how do
you stop this offense?

Speaker 4 (24:35):
Well, first off, you better not let him catch the
ball in space because if you do, they're faster than you.

Speaker 5 (24:43):
Yeah, they live on misdirection formation.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
You think Mike, Mike McDaniels, Mike McDaniel, and take Kyle
Shanahan and they're the same. And they've got more team
speed than the forty nine ers. He's going to formation you,
he's going to motion to create mismatches. He's going to
try to get his runners in space in a screen
game and also get watched the ball. Their whole goal

(25:11):
is going to be get the ball out on time.
They're not. They're not near as effective in long routes
unless it's off play action. Everything a lot of quick
game getting the ball on the flat. If two is
in rhythm and he's putting his foot in the ground
and the ball comes out on time and he's accurate,
which he is, He's an accurate passer of the football.
It's all about anticipation, timing, and rhythm for them. They're

(25:33):
quite like Josh Allen. He doesn't need to be on
time all the time. He buys time. Do you know
the dudes rushed for more touchdowns than OJ Simpson and
Terrell Davis already Josh Allen in his career, he's ran
for more touchdowns than OJ Simpson and Terrell Davis, who
are both in the Hall of Fame. OJ just ran
from one more police officer. No, I'm kidding, that's my guy. Well,

(25:57):
I was at one point my guy and then needed
to become my guy. But when I first got to USC, dude,
he o J was the king, was a king, and
he treated my family so well.

Speaker 5 (26:06):
And rescue peace. That's got to be racist. What do
you mean now, sign he did you treated my family awesome?
I mean he probably did.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
He treated my family. I know he my mom and dad.
You met him on the sidelines and again he was
awesome to them. Well, why are you guys dog in
that in that time, at that time he was at
that time, he was running, he was jumping over for
he was jumping over luggage, running through airports, and he
was the most popular guy. Well, okay, we digreed that way.

(26:35):
Get rid of saying, so, don't shift the story to
be this is about we went from Josh Allen could
run to oh that's racist because because O J. Sewan
let him rest in peace. I of course I am.

Speaker 6 (26:53):
I don't know a trip like you. Need to hit
that sounder again, man, yeah, hit it one more time.

Speaker 4 (26:58):
Got to be really we'll get back to Josh Allen
the I. But in truth he did and all of
a sudden it kind of shifted out of diamond.

Speaker 5 (27:07):
Yeah what happened?

Speaker 19 (27:07):
Man?

Speaker 4 (27:08):
They went from idle to eyes wide open. Anyway, God
rest his soul, right, what do you say? You're an rip?

Speaker 5 (27:16):
Gawp?

Speaker 4 (27:17):
He's got more rushing touchdowns. He's ten years left in
his career. He's ran for more touchdowns at O. J.
Simpson and Terrell Davis. Now I want you to think
about that, dude, his numbers are frigging stupid. Yeah, So,
I don't even know how we got to Josh Allen.
How we get to Josh Allen? The running the ability
to run that two is not going to do with
Josh Allen playing out, playing off schedule and being able

(27:38):
to make thirty yard throws falling on his ass. Right,
I'm a homes Josh Allen type of guy. That's not him.
But I'm going to tell you right now, watchin a
gun one two three ball out under center, one two
three ball out, catch and release on a quick slanking.
It'll be all about playing fast with urgency in space.
They have got to you know, they've got to take
those windows and close them in a hurry. If you

(28:02):
can't control that, you will. Hey, it'll be a long
day because we know waddle Tyreek Hill. Most of they
got guys that when they catch the ball and you've
give them room, they'll go from two yards of space
to ten yards of space in the blink of an eye.
It's tough. Now take the over in the game if
both offenses play. Now, the Texans offense have got to

(28:24):
prove that they can get back to doing what they do.
But I can tell you right now, take the over.
I think it's almost fifty forty nine something like that
up around there.

Speaker 5 (28:31):
Take the over.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
I don't know how if both teams are in rhythm,
how either defense is and I love the Texans defense,
it's just this space and now you're too deep. You're
down al shi Ere and Jalen Petrick. So it's going
to be a difficult task for them. It's all about
disrupting their rhythm. And please don't give Tyreek Hill and
waddle free run at the line of scrimmage. Somehow, some way,
you got to get hands on them at the line

(28:53):
of scrimmage because if they're in rhythm, they become really good,
as witnessed by their last four or five games.

Speaker 5 (28:57):
Over under right now, forty six and a half. Fake
the over.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
In my opinion, damn, I'd take the over low, isn't
it in the NFL? It's not I mean in the NFL,
once you break fifty, think about that, that's fifties. What
you know, twenty eight to twenty one would be what
forty nine is all so in the NFL. That's and
looking at offenses this year that have struggled at times, Yeah,

(29:23):
I still take the over unless both defenses were there.
If offenses are having a bad day, and then then
you take that. I think both offenses are going to
be able to score.

Speaker 6 (29:32):
Josh Allen, by the way, sixty two total touch or
not total, but sixty two rushing touchdowns right now? Terrell
Davis in his career sixty who else.

Speaker 5 (29:41):
Did you say?

Speaker 8 (29:41):
Oh? J.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
Simpsons?

Speaker 17 (29:42):
Oh J Simpson, O J.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
Simpson? Sixty one?

Speaker 4 (29:46):
What was the other one? He said?

Speaker 5 (29:47):
One more? O? J. Simpson? Terrell Davis?

Speaker 4 (29:49):
Who also?

Speaker 5 (29:50):
I did that?

Speaker 4 (29:50):
Was it?

Speaker 8 (29:50):
That?

Speaker 4 (29:50):
Was it?

Speaker 5 (29:51):
Those two?

Speaker 4 (29:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (29:52):
Sixty and sixty one? Josh Allen.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
That guy hasn't read. The guy hasn't reached what seven
years in his career yet. I don't think I think
is any league since twenty eight?

Speaker 5 (30:00):
Team? And what do we this is?

Speaker 4 (30:01):
Year?

Speaker 5 (30:02):
What six to six?

Speaker 7 (30:04):
Dode?

Speaker 4 (30:04):
I want you he's averaging ten touchdoards?

Speaker 5 (30:05):
Seven? Sorry, okay, the guys.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
The guy's averaging like around like ten touchdowns a year
rushing he's gotten Okay, he's a freaking quarterback. He's already
got nine in this and only he was on a
video game last weeks he had six of them. Yeah,
and if they had put the ball in his hands
on the edge, he'd had a seventh with the game.

Speaker 5 (30:21):
On the line. Yeah. Nuts, No, the how's that for
some perspective? How the game's changed? Crazy?

Speaker 4 (30:27):
So apparently we could make Josh Allen a running back
and he'd be in the Pro Bowl. Yeah, good, I back.
Yeah no, unbelievable. So yeah, but that's not how to
his game is based on anticipation and timing and accuracy.

Speaker 6 (30:41):
Let's talk about the loss of Jalen Petrie. He is
out for the year with a torn pectoral muscle. How
is that going to affect the defense for the Texans?

Speaker 5 (30:49):
That's next?

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Sean Salisbury show continues to continue.

Speaker 5 (30:57):
Yeah, King King, absolutely, but this is the original King.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
Yeah and wait, well another one we're missing because they
called him the King of Pop.

Speaker 5 (31:05):
Who's at Jackson? Now, we're in a We're in a battle.

Speaker 17 (31:10):
You know.

Speaker 5 (31:12):
The Diddy stuff makes Michael Jackson seem normal.

Speaker 4 (31:15):
Well, here's what I you know what, let me give
you a conspiracy theory. See I'm on a flip the
script on you just to throw some see if it sticks.
Are we sure that Michael Jackson didn't have people out
there to take them away from the track, away from
Hollywood that way? Are we sure that he wasn't the

(31:35):
one who cared about making sure these kids were in
a safe haven away from the trash that we're seeing now.
And I say burn them all down, and I say
make it biblical and epic when you decide to scar
ruin a child's life. There is no bigger scum on
the planet. Maybe just maybe Michael Jackson. Yes, just a thought,

(32:00):
But the King of Pop? So of all those kings,
who's the biggest one? Jackson's got to be bigger than Elvis?

Speaker 7 (32:04):
Right?

Speaker 5 (32:04):
Dyalen Hart r? I mean not Dalen Haart Senior, My bad.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
Dalen Hart was not the king. That's not what thy going.

Speaker 6 (32:09):
That was Richard Petty, No, I know that, But he
was bigger than Oh yeah, but he wasn't the king
with guy.

Speaker 5 (32:14):
That was nickname. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (32:16):
Yeah, Well you got the King of Pop. You got
King Richard Petty. It's Elvis.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
Man, we all know that. It's a no brainer, is
he because he's the first king? Yeah, I would think so.

Speaker 4 (32:23):
When you're the first it's it's hard to start throwing
Lebron's name and all that is as a bigger king, right,
so the king of pop band far behind it? Yeah,
Michael Jackson. Now, okay, if you went global in the
if you took Elvis and and Michael Jackson now in
this in the era we're in now that Lebron and

(32:43):
the social media era, and took MJ the original m J,
Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley the original king, and stick
him now with how popular they were in their era,
and stick them in here. Now, who's the biggest global
give me the top three on global cry and women crying?

(33:06):
Guys want to hang around just where it's like yeah iconic,
where it's like like the Muhammad Ali in that and
there would be It would be Michael Jackson, it would
be Elvis, And I think Taylor Schoff would still be
up there.

Speaker 5 (33:17):
She's not nicknamed the king.

Speaker 6 (33:18):
You're still talking about, Well, so you're bringing them back
into the I thought we're about.

Speaker 4 (33:23):
King's and and now that puts we just talk about
stick him now and say who's the biggest school.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
It would be Michael Jackson. I would agree it would
be Michael Jackson.

Speaker 6 (33:33):
And can you imagine in today's day and age with
social media, and I would.

Speaker 5 (33:37):
Think that Elvis Presley's probably should.

Speaker 6 (33:38):
Still be up there because you got to think about,
like think about the country music like that type of
of like like the like look at Post Malone's career
in country music, Dude, it's it's massive, right, And then
you think about who's the guy that we Morgan Wallin, Right,
he's still massive.

Speaker 4 (33:55):
There they are pittance compared to those exactly. That's my
whole point.

Speaker 6 (33:59):
Imagine and Elvis Presley singing country music in his style
of music, Okay.

Speaker 4 (34:03):
Who's bigger globally? Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley or Michael Jordan.

Speaker 17 (34:08):
Michael Jackson, Damn Michael Jackson had people.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
Find I'm gonna say yeah, and people crying for Elvis Presley, Yeah,
like they were doing for the Beatles, right, they really were.
What about Muhammad Ali, Man, you want to talk about global,
I'm talking about it. Muammad Ali when he's in his
prime to where you know, stick him in this now
in a world here where he's the heavyweight champion of

(34:31):
the world. Now, buddy, and knowing how global he is, Okay,
you walk into now I know we can say a
soccer player like Ronaldo or MESSI global. I'm saying leave
it to US athletes or entertainers or that of all
of them, actors, singers, It doesn't matter. Is influencers. I
don't care who it is Elon Musk. If you took

(34:52):
them into Germany in a pub, who has the biggest
I got to sit next to that person? Michael j
even bigger than Ali. It's Michael Jackson. I think you're
probably right. I mean, Presley wouldn't be far behind. No,
I don't think you would. I think, but I'm thinking
about the basketball, global basketball, because it's still a global sport.
R gosh, who would it be. Is Michael Jackson bigger

(35:15):
than Taylor Swift at their bolts? Now?

Speaker 8 (35:17):
He is right?

Speaker 5 (35:17):
Got to be right?

Speaker 17 (35:18):
I don't know, because a young could have been the
president of the world.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
I agree.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
I grew up in his I hate to understand. I
was I saw what happened, dude. There was nobody who
pulled more weight than that guy. But look, I understand
you're right. But now, but what Michael was able to do?

Speaker 8 (35:35):
Right?

Speaker 4 (35:35):
But take Michael Jackson and right now, that's what I'm
talking about. If Swift was back when Michael Jackson, she
would get it out, wouldn't think about with social media, Yeah,
it would be Michael jacks how global, Michael Jackson media
he was doing what we.

Speaker 5 (35:51):
Had no cell phones. It would be Michael Jackson when
they was.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
Carrying, when the guy was carying boomboxes on their shoulders.

Speaker 5 (35:56):
Yeah, they would one hundred percent to be Michael Jackson.

Speaker 4 (36:00):
And I'm going to tell you as far as it,
I'm just going to tell you on the global side,
when boxing was actually real and we loved it.

Speaker 5 (36:07):
I'm right.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
I'm not so sure that Mike that Muhammad Ali ain't
in that conversation. I don't think he's outside the top five. No,
I don't think globally. Globally No. Yeah, Now, if you
take one of those global stars, if you talk about
Pele or Ronaldo or Messi, and look what their Europe
It took their their global in South America, take their following.
It's like put it this way, we know more about

(36:29):
Lionel Messi than some dudes sitting in Germany may know
about Elvis Presley right now, But that's when Presley I'm
talking about. If you put Presley now and maybe a
different story. There's about ten to fIF Jordan's in the conversation,
Tiger Woods is in the conversation. Yeah, that's just popularity.
But golf doesn't move as much needle as a singer
does or one of those. I can't put an actor

(36:50):
in there because I just a pure actor. I don't
think any of them make that list to you. No,
there's no it's a singer or an athlete.

Speaker 6 (36:57):
I would say Michael Jackson was still be king because
you think about like what he was doing without social media, right,
so they were lining up for blocks just to see
him get off of a van and get into a
freaking hotel.

Speaker 4 (37:07):
Right, So with that in mind, we've we've come up
with who is the king?

Speaker 6 (37:12):
Yeah, the nicknames, I think it would be Michael Jackson agreed,
And I don't think there's I think I think it
would be him.

Speaker 5 (37:18):
I think Elvis Presley is right there.

Speaker 4 (37:19):
I think distance between but the distance between those two
just the king nicknames, the distance between Jackson and Presley
and the rest of the kings. Now, see George Strait's
big in the country world, but right now there's somebody
who doesn't listen to country.

Speaker 5 (37:31):
You can't care less much.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
You can't go put him in Switzerland, right, But but
Michael Jackson, Elvis Pressley covered all genres right right. George
Straight ain't gonna get in the rap community. Is probably
not George t or the the old school rock and
roll back then like country music or You're kind They're
in their own vertical right. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (37:49):
Now, George Straight now is obviously deeper than that.

Speaker 4 (37:51):
You get it. And he is the king of country,
there's no doubt. But Michael Jackson's the king of it
all of at all.

Speaker 5 (37:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (37:56):
I mean you think back like when he kind of
went on his little uh whatever you call it, when
he was at that hotel and he had his baby
in his hand and he steps out on the patio the.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
Like he was the lion creak with Simba or whatever
it was. Yeah, the baby and they went nuts. Probably
not a wise move there, no, probably not. But just
the thought, are we sure that Michael Jackson wasn't the
one trying to give the kids a safe haven as
opposed to all these horrific celebrities. Now that did makes
you think preyed on these young kids? Makes you think

(38:29):
it doesn't I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the conspiracy theories.
I'm leaning more towards the king than I am. What
we got now, and what we got now is the
ones we're talking about is trash, right, I'm talking about
that the people.

Speaker 5 (38:42):
Anytime you pray on a kid.

Speaker 4 (38:43):
You you you know what, I'm waiting for an eye
for an eye when they when when they finally put
him away, give him an eye for you. You want to
do it the old school way, what you did is
what you get? Oh can you imagine that?

Speaker 20 (38:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (38:57):
Exactly, I'm laughing because it's how sick it is. Yeah,
there's no doubt. Let's get into the seven o'clock hours,
seven one, three, two point two five, seven ninety. Phone
lines are open. We're gonna talk Texans. We'll talk astros,
Kyle Tucker, Alex Bregman. How's the defense gonna fare for
the Texans? Without Jalen petriing as he's Outshire All coming
up next on Sports Talk seven ninety.

Don't get left out in the cold when it comes
to your retirement, when it comes to your peace of
mind and your security, and there's a way to do
that when it comes to your finances and you're in
what you're doing, whether it's the the understanding the academic

you talking about with the nickname king?

Speaker 5 (42:23):
With the nickname of the king?

Speaker 4 (42:24):
Who I know?

Speaker 5 (42:25):
Who is it?

Speaker 19 (42:27):
He sent to Fernandez?

Speaker 5 (42:28):
Oh yeah, I sent Fernandez and I and yeah you
know him?

Speaker 4 (42:33):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 5 (42:34):
He sings volt and I can tell you this, I
love it.

Speaker 20 (42:39):
I love it.

Speaker 5 (42:40):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (42:40):
And I know you're going.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
To blosso.

Speaker 5 (42:50):
Damn a good song.

Speaker 4 (42:51):
But guess what, I can't think he ain't making the
global radar when it comes to the King.

Speaker 5 (42:56):
Brother.

Speaker 19 (42:57):
Sorry, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Speaker 5 (43:00):
He is the King. There you go, Yes, he is
right in Mexico.

Speaker 4 (43:06):
Huge, I get you, And I know I don't know
it's music, but I know I know the name.

Speaker 7 (43:10):
But I didn't know.

Speaker 19 (43:12):
There's a lot of Mexicans that live in America and
they still consider him the king.

Speaker 5 (43:16):
Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (43:18):
I got my peep's dog and Escoe, you know, mean
streets at the mean streets dog. Matter of fact, matter
of fact, we were gonna have him. We're gonna we're
gonna have him play at our at the prom. But
he couldn't make it.

Speaker 8 (43:31):
I couldn't make it.

Speaker 5 (43:33):
We couldn't.

Speaker 20 (43:34):
We couldn't.

Speaker 4 (43:34):
We couldn't afford to pay him. The fifteen dollars we
raised wasn't quite enough.

Speaker 19 (43:40):
I actually I used to go see him at the
coliseum when they had boxing matches and wrestling. But boxing matches, man,
I'm talking about some Mexicans fighting there.

Speaker 4 (43:49):
But are you talking about it?

Speaker 1 (43:50):
They would bring in l.

Speaker 5 (43:51):
A or here.

Speaker 19 (43:52):
No, they used to coliseum.

Speaker 4 (43:56):
Oh okay, when you said the coliseum, I thought you
were talking about you went to Los Angele, So.

Speaker 5 (44:03):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 19 (44:03):
Well but yeah, well all the villa. They show up,
they shut up, right, they show up in the middle
of the ring, in the mess. Anyway, he's the king
of He's the king of music and makes Field.

Speaker 14 (44:21):
I'm me tell you what.

Speaker 19 (44:22):
That just my opinion because I grew.

Speaker 8 (44:23):
Up with her.

Speaker 19 (44:24):
Madonna was pretty damn good in her in her day.

Speaker 4 (44:28):
Madonna, Yeah, yeah, she sure was. She took a turn
for the worst, but anyway, yeah she had her moments,
no doubt about that.

Speaker 5 (44:38):
There you go.

Speaker 19 (44:39):
Wait a minute, how does she take a turn for
the worst?

Speaker 7 (44:41):
What the h does she do to take a turn
for the worst?

Speaker 5 (44:43):
Have you seen her?

Speaker 4 (44:45):
I'm going to get old. I wasn't talking about old.
She just is a different look these I'm with you.
I don't have a problem. I'm just kidding around. I
don't know what turn for the worst, But put it
this way, She's probably not producing the same kind of
music she has in the past.

Speaker 5 (45:00):
But that's okay.

Speaker 8 (45:01):
It doesn't make it bad.

Speaker 4 (45:01):
Right, Well, well, you know, you know, I mean, I
had listen. I'm with you because she was huge during
my era. Madonna was There's no.

Speaker 1 (45:08):
Doubt, no doubt about it.

Speaker 8 (45:11):
Anyway, All right, good.

Speaker 4 (45:12):
To talk to, you know, get your place there you go,
there we go. But now we know who the Mexican
king was.

Speaker 5 (45:22):
Yeah, well, why you guys say it like that, Fernandez?
Why can't say for Senta Fernandez because.

Speaker 6 (45:27):
I don't want to sound like a basic white guy.
Well that's what you are, true, that's a good point.

Speaker 4 (45:32):
Got to be racist. Triple e. Gil, Thank you. I'm
glad somebody else added culture. Hey, did you know Ryan
Clark what his initials are?

Speaker 5 (45:39):
I think there are c that's only you know.

Speaker 4 (45:42):
Well, the initials on his lapel are bigger than his
than his body. But just in case you didn't know
who he was, on the lower third on his right lapel,
he'll tell you who he is, just in case you forgot.
Just in case you forgot, it's there for you. My gosh,
I will cry laughing. If Bart Scott shows up with
BS this.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
It'd be great.

Speaker 5 (46:03):
Talk to Damien. Then we'll get the David Damien, what's happening?

Speaker 8 (46:06):
It was?

Speaker 20 (46:07):
I just want to I had no doubt king.

Speaker 8 (46:12):
You guys hit the spot on.

Speaker 11 (46:13):
We gotta be Mike and Mike and Elvis. But hey,
Sean and I heard the guy Gil just mentioned Madonna.
Madonna actually was considered if I'm not mistaken the Queen,
the queen of pop, right.

Speaker 4 (46:25):
You know what was she might be right, I don't
know if she I don't know if she was a
queen of pop.

Speaker 5 (46:30):
She might have.

Speaker 4 (46:30):
Attracted the nickname queen at some point. Oh, there's no doubt.
I was just giving Gill a hard time. During my era,
she was a monster.

Speaker 5 (46:38):
She was huge. Queen is referred to as the Queen
of pop, that's.

Speaker 4 (46:41):
Right, And she was during the matter of fact, that's
a great point because she now that now you think
about it, she was when Michael Jackson was the king
of pop. She was around, you know, doing the same
singing and that was her era as well, right, So
the queen of pop. That's a good point. Yeah, she was,
and she was globally huge at the time. There's no doubt.

Speaker 20 (46:57):
Yeah, absolutely, I'm gonna give you that. I'm gonna throw
another A'm out there, Sean, and one more before that,
Hey what about uh well the great uh Dolly parton
she she I believe she charted on both country and
the top on country and U pop music.

Speaker 4 (47:12):
So yeah, and as an actress to everybody just loved her,
you know, because her personality, like it felt like it
was the same in movies as it was when she
was on stage during an interview. Yeah, and she was
as beloved as anybody and still is. Everybody loves card, Yeah,
no doubt.

Speaker 20 (47:29):
Last point, Sean Taylor Swift, where would you bring her
amongst those two women with his name Madonna, Dolly Partner,
even a lady like uh Leisha Marie Presley. Yeah, that's
all I got.

Speaker 4 (47:41):
Thanks, Damon, I appreciate you, brother Sam. I would uh,
I would probably say did Taylor Swift's bigger because she
liked like, uh, Dolly Parton covers different genres of music.
But the difference between Taylor Swift and Dolly Parton is

(48:04):
the young crowd. Yeah, now a young crowd appreciation, but
not the oh my gosh Taylor Swift.

Speaker 5 (48:12):
You know what I'm saying. Taylor Swift literally.

Speaker 4 (48:16):
Like moved financial success in a city when she goes
to a concert for that one, I.

Speaker 5 (48:20):
Mean, it's crazy. Yeah, it's in saying what she can do.

Speaker 4 (48:21):
She can do in one night what the super Bowl does,
and it feels like in a week. So I get
Damien's onto something, but Taylor Swift and you'll get grown
adults sitting in a Taylor Swift concert without their kids,
you know what I'm saying. So she just but who knows.
In Dolly Parton's prime with That's why I'm saying with
social media, she would not have been as big as

(48:43):
Taylor Swift.

Speaker 6 (48:43):
No, there's no disrespect, but no, it's not happening.

Speaker 4 (48:46):
I do believe Dolly Parton's bigger in the country community
than Taylor Swift is.

Speaker 5 (48:49):
Yeah, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (48:50):
But even with her going over with Tim McGraw and
all the stuff that, you know, the collapse she's done
and trying to kind of cross over both. But in
the overall global if Dolly Parton and Taylor Swift and
their walked into Germany, yeah, Taylor is gonna get the
more love. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (49:03):
Yeah, Yeah, there's no doubt about that. Stalk to David, David,
what's happening.

Speaker 4 (49:06):
But let's say David real quick, but let's not bury
the lead. If you're walking into Germany with the celebrity,
it's got to be David Hasselhoff because Germans love David.

Speaker 5 (49:14):
Just they just want to let you know that it's
going on.

Speaker 21 (49:16):
David, Holy Toledo, what are we talking about?

Speaker 19 (49:19):
Guys?

Speaker 4 (49:19):
Everything, any and everything we friggin want to on our show.
There you go, anything we want to and we'll continue
to do it. What do you want to talk about?

Speaker 14 (49:30):
Asselhoff to Selena to Man.

Speaker 4 (49:33):
Damn right, yeah, Germans, Germans loved David Hasselhoff. We all
learned something new today. You got me somebody?

Speaker 21 (49:40):
Yeah, Hey, get back to the task at hand here,
Like any good fan, GM, I've got the solution to
call the astros perceived issues here with resigning Brigman and
Tucker and these This may have been talked about before.

Speaker 17 (49:52):
We've got tons of dead.

Speaker 21 (49:54):
Money on the books that is coming off by my calculations,
and and of course a bray you in Montero. That's
thirty one mil coming off next year, and that's the
year that Tucker obviously hits free agency. He's still under
locked for one year at probably sixteen seventeen mil this
coming year, so he can have half of that easily.

(50:16):
He could have twenty mil of that thirty one if
the estimates are you know what I'm hearing, thirty five
to fifty to forty million year is what it's going
to take to resign him, yep, you know. And and
Bregman can have what's left over. I think Bregman's probably
wants to stick around as long as OL two B
and Alvarez are here, and I don't blame him. I
don't want to stick around too. I'll be the bat boy,

(50:37):
and those guys are under lock for four more years.
I think L two V maybe one more year than
than Alvarez, but a while and right after the bray
you and Montero money comes off the books. You got
mccullors and and Presley, which is another thirty one mil
between those two guys. I think there's there's money out
there to sign both these guys and to keep them

(50:58):
for at least. Like I said, though, as long as
I'll two Van Avaiz is here, why I break up
the band?

Speaker 11 (51:03):
Now?

Speaker 5 (51:03):
Let me ask you.

Speaker 4 (51:04):
This being a great solution and great ideas and well thought,
but now do you think either want to go.

Speaker 8 (51:10):
To be here?

Speaker 21 (51:12):
I think Bregman will for sure.

Speaker 4 (51:15):
I think by the time you open Christmas gifts, Bregman
and Kyle Tucker, if not sooner, will be in different uniforms.
I don't think there's a there's a snowball's chance in hell,
but a real small snowball. I don't think for sure
they're both not coming back. And I would bet if
somebody put my feet to the fire, I would bet
that both are going somewhere else. I don't know how

(51:35):
the assholes are going to make up a difference of
fifty men. They can, But will they, I guess is
the point. I don't think they're both going to be here.

Speaker 21 (51:42):
Oh, that's point well taken. They can, I think it's there,
But will they?

Speaker 14 (51:46):
You know?

Speaker 4 (51:47):
Right?

Speaker 5 (51:47):
Do they break?

Speaker 4 (51:48):
Do they break their business model to keep a guy
who's been here? That's a good point.

Speaker 8 (51:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (51:53):
Well, then here's the other issue.

Speaker 15 (51:54):
What are we gonna do?

Speaker 21 (51:55):
Your Don's under lock till twenty twenty eight relations he's
going to be thirty at that time.

Speaker 5 (52:01):
It'd be thirty one.

Speaker 4 (52:03):
Yeah, David, my gut hurts already thinking about all the
guys we're gonna lose.

Speaker 5 (52:07):
I don't want to start think.

Speaker 4 (52:08):
About it at a third What so makes its more miserable?

Speaker 5 (52:12):
What are we gonna do if he leaves?

Speaker 4 (52:13):
Yeah, at least we can we can milk that for
about four more years, right, my man, three more years,
So we'll see.

Speaker 5 (52:18):
There you go, Merry Christmas, There you go.

Speaker 4 (52:21):
The King appreciate it. David appreciate it. He's no David Hasselhoff,
who is.

Speaker 5 (52:28):
Not very many people.

Speaker 4 (52:29):
You guy, you know what I've noticed about you?

Speaker 5 (52:31):
What's that?

Speaker 4 (52:32):
Don't put respect on Hasselhoff? You really don't what? I
just don't get it. Yeah, I just saw your disdain
for Hasselhoff. It's really weird. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (52:41):
Do you see it?

Speaker 4 (52:42):
Triple A you saw it right too? Yeah, I mean
it's unbelievable. Why I say Hasselhoff he gave the middle finger,
rolled your eyes and called it you you your mouth,
He's a bitch. I can't. I don't like to say that,
you know. Yeah, you were just man's sexy though.

Speaker 5 (52:56):
I'm taking it.

Speaker 4 (52:57):
I'm taking a I'm taking a page out of your book.
Oh yeah, man, Garoppolo, Oh yeah, yeah, what cassle Hoff
was Garoppolo? Okay, who pulls more in their prime? In
the prime prime, Hassle Hot on the beach? It's Hasslefoff
or Garoppolo. No, it's Hasselhoff. Hashof pulls more than Jimmy.

Speaker 5 (53:17):
Yes, in their prime. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (53:18):
Look what Hassoff was doing to Baywatch. He probably probably
had to put a bunch of bays right. Yeah, and
Boo Bears. Yeah, exactly say that that hassle, Now that's
breaking news. Hasselhoff bigger pulls more than Garoppolo. Sorry, what
pulls more?

Speaker 5 (53:36):
You said? I mean, like a bigger star who pulls more?
It's Hasselhoff. Yeah, I don't have to look at the
tails I said. I would even put Garoppol in there.
But you're you're mean. I know you get bricked up
talking about Gabe Capler's in there as well.

Speaker 4 (53:50):
Probably whenever you say Gabe Capel, the first day comes
anybody's mind, he is Welcome Back Cotter. But that's Gabe
Kaplan because he Welcome Back Cotterer. Gabe cap when you
start to say it, most people are most people if
you say, Gabe Kaplan far more famous than Gabe Kapler.

Speaker 5 (54:05):
Oh it's not debatable.

Speaker 4 (54:07):
Did you ever watch Welcome Back Catter with Tribolta mistic Katta?

Speaker 5 (54:11):
Well you got problems, man, You know what, just Gabe Kaplan,
Who is this guy? Better actor?

Speaker 4 (54:20):
But one of the that wasn't his show, Welcome Back
Cotter was iconic. Yeah, so most people know Gabe Kaplan
more than they do Gabe Kapler. Okay, you just think
Kapler's hot.

Speaker 5 (54:32):
I don't know, man, I don't know who Gabe Kaplan is. Well,
of course you don't know. You're not sure who Elvis
Presley is. No, I know who the King is? Ok yeah,
look at this guy? What come on, dude, you're so shallow?
Who is this guy? Who the hell is?

Speaker 4 (54:47):
Gay star? He was the star of the day, Welcome
Back Cotter. Did you ever see that show, dude? That
was one of Travolta.

Speaker 5 (54:55):
Starts, Welcome Back Cotter? K O T T E R. Cotter?

Speaker 4 (55:01):
Was it on horse Shack?

Speaker 5 (55:03):
Was it on cable?

Speaker 4 (55:04):
Was on TV?

Speaker 1 (55:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (55:05):
I couldn't afford cable. We didn't live in the rich
you know thee Well, Welcome Back Cotter was on. They
were doing cable.

Speaker 4 (55:12):
Okay, all right, they didn't have any Netflix when Cotter
was on. Okay, hey, welcome back Corder.

Speaker 5 (55:18):
What are you gonna do?

Speaker 14 (55:19):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (55:19):
I got my I'm gonna stream it. No, learn something
new every day. We do know that you love Gabe
Kepler though, well, man, you date him? No, no, no,
absolutely not. We got to get to the steakout steak course, Yeah,
don't bury the lead. Let's go to the steak out.
Next Sports Talk seven to eighty.

Speaker 3 (55:38):
The Sean Salisbury Show continues on your smart TV. Listen
to Sports Talk seven ninety on any device with our
free iHeart Radio app.

Speaker 4 (55:53):
All right, Sean, what are you hearing on there now?

Speaker 2 (55:56):
The Salsbury's steakout sells Teakout on The.

Speaker 6 (56:01):
Sean Salisbury Show, The tip of the stake out here

(56:21):
on The Shawn Salibury Show. Sean bryn at tripley. All right,
Heisman Trophy tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (56:29):
Like it or not, no matter how you vote, the
award's done. Last night last night told you the awards
are done.

Speaker 6 (56:36):
The uh Bolitnikoff Award for the most Outstanding wide Receiver.
And what's the uh O Best Defensive Player damn Thorp Award.

Speaker 4 (56:46):
That's best dB, not defensive player, defensive defensive Yeah? Has
that ever happened? Bless you, thank you.

Speaker 5 (56:54):
Both both of those awards were given to Travis Hunter.

Speaker 4 (56:58):
Nobody's won both in the same time, right in college
football history? Correct? Yes, since the awards have been in
when I say history, since the awards have been in play.

Speaker 6 (57:06):
So Travis Hunter winning the Bolitanic Goff Award as the
most Outstanding wide receiver college football. Let's take a look
over at San Jose state wide receiver Nick Nash. He
was first of receptions, first of receptions per game, first
and receiving yards, first and receiving yards per game, and
first and receiving touchdowns.

Speaker 4 (57:20):
Now he'll get a lot of NFL love. But here's
what you're going to get the naysayers from mind and
I know where you're going, Well, was this put it
this way?

Speaker 8 (57:28):
Was?

Speaker 5 (57:28):
Indeed, he may be the most talented.

Speaker 4 (57:31):
But this was a question I think you'd probably ask,
and I'm not speaking for you, is was Travis at Travis?

Speaker 5 (57:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (57:37):
Travis Hunter the best receiver in the country. No, Okay,
so that's the case. Now if we flip him, would
that guy from San Jose State, if he's on Colorado
will be getting the same love at wide receiver? Probably yes,
and Hunter wouldn't have won both awards. So I'll ask
you this. Here's what a naysayer is going to tell you.

(57:58):
And I can already tell you what they're going to say.
Who'd they play? Yeah, that's what you're gonna get. Yep,
that's what that's what you're gonna get. That's the argument.
And there's not going to be I hate to say that.
I'm not saying you would choose it. But if anybody's
rallying around that, the first thing everybody's gonna say is
he ain't Travis Hunter and he didn't play in the
Big twelve.

Speaker 5 (58:15):
That's what you're gonna get.

Speaker 6 (58:16):
He had nine receptions for one hundred and twenty six
yards receiving against Boise State.

Speaker 4 (58:21):
Who is in the playoffs. Yeah, there you go. What's
Boise State the the their third third seed seed? Is
that three seed?

Speaker 8 (58:32):
Right? No?

Speaker 4 (58:32):
They jumped ahead of the four seed? Is Arizona State?

Speaker 8 (58:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (58:40):
Yeah, there you go. Yeah, it's never been done. Travis
Hunters winning the Heisman Trophy. Yes, for genty, Travis Hunters
win it. Who won the Maxwell Award? Maxwell Award which
is the quarterback, right, because a lot of times quarterback
guy wins a Maxwell Award wins the Heisman. Quarterbacks not
winning the Heisman as year matter of fact, they're not quarterback.
Probably he shouldn't finish in the Dylan Gabriel maybe quarterback's

(59:04):
not finish in the top two. So and the best
quarterback this year, I mean, with it or NFL prospects
should do, or Sanders, but Dylan Gabriel is going to
get the love.

Speaker 6 (59:14):
The Davy O'Brien. O'Brien National Quarterback Award went to cam Ward.

Speaker 4 (59:20):
Okay, and he's in. He's the other he's the fourth
guy in in New York. He may actually finish ahead
of Dylan Gabriel.

Speaker 6 (59:27):
The Chuck ben Nerick ben Nerrick Award Defensive Player of
the Year went to Travis Hunter John McKey Award Outstarting
Outstanding tight End with the Tyler Warren of Penn States.

Speaker 4 (59:39):
Wait, wait, wait a minute, So you're telling me Travis
Hunter won the Thorpe Award two. I didn't. I didn't
watch your wards. You're telling me he won three awards.

Speaker 5 (59:47):
They haven't. They haven't. I guess they haven't given those
out yet.

Speaker 4 (59:50):
Okay, so you didn't win the dB of the Year,
that's what That's what you said. Thorpe ben Nericks for
the Defensive Player of the Year. So he won college
Football's Defensive Player of the Year and the Blittannikov Award
is a white receiver. Yeah, oh yeah. And when he
said it, when I went out because I didn't watch
the award show last night, did you?

Speaker 5 (01:00:05):
Was it on TV?

Speaker 4 (01:00:06):
I didn't watch it. You knew he'd win one of them.
Blitnikoff or the Thorpe. But if the Thorpe wasn't part
of it, the dB part of it. But he won
the bed and Rick is the defensive Player of the
Year in college football.

Speaker 5 (01:00:19):
Well, the Heisan trophies his tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (01:00:21):
Yeah, he's the first ever to win both bed Nerik
and bolitnik Cough, there you go.

Speaker 4 (01:00:26):
So well, I can tell you this. If he won
those two awards, who's gonna win the Thorpe Award? Let's see,
doesn't it gotta be him? If he's a college Football's
Player of the Year for overall, is it he gonna win?

Speaker 6 (01:00:38):
The dam Jim Jim Thorpe Award went to uh Juday
Barren from Texas.

Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
Okay, so you couldn't give him all three you could have,
but could you imagine this?

Speaker 5 (01:00:48):
We got another award he won.

Speaker 6 (01:00:50):
He won Walter Camp. He won the Walter Camp Award.
Who Travis Hunter? Oh okay, so he's he's sweeping awards
all Maxwell.

Speaker 5 (01:00:58):
The Maxwell Award went to Ashton gent He So.

Speaker 4 (01:01:01):
What's what's the Maxwell? I thought Dave O'Brien is the
quarterback of the Year.

Speaker 6 (01:01:05):
Maxwell Award was that the offensive player is Maxwell Award
player of the Year.

Speaker 4 (01:01:10):
So it's got to be the off that that's the
offensive No. No, I think it's the non Heisman Player
of the Year, and it's gonna go Hunter. Gent probably
a ward, and then.

Speaker 5 (01:01:21):
Gabriel won the Doak Walker Award Best running Back.

Speaker 4 (01:01:26):
That was a no brainer. He won two awards Maxwell
and and so that keeps him in the hunt for
the Heisman.

Speaker 5 (01:01:37):
Maxwell. This isn't a an award for snap count. Hey,
can we do this? Can we can we say?

Speaker 4 (01:01:43):
How many times has a Maxwell Award winner also won
the Heisman? Do we have that? Just curious because I'm
wondering which one pulls more weight the Davey O'Brien for Heisman,
which has been quarterbacks win a lot of those. You
win the Dave O'Brien a lot of times you win
I think the Heisman. I wonder how many times it's
been dual where the Maxwell guys is like eighty percent
of the time. Then there's hope for genty and there's

(01:02:04):
still hope. But I think that when you win the
bulittant Coff wide receiver and then turn around and win
the Defensive Player of the Year, you got to think
that Travis Hunter is probably gonna win.

Speaker 6 (01:02:13):
So since twenty fourteen, which is the beginning of the
college football payoff era, the Maxwell Award winner has gone
on to win the Heisman Trophy during the same voting
cycle in every year except for twenty eighteen, which was
too a tongue of Ioloa and twenty twenty three Michael
Pennix Junior. So every other year since twenty fourteen, that Maxwell.

Speaker 5 (01:02:31):
That's usually a path of the Heisman.

Speaker 4 (01:02:33):
But we also have never had a path that won
an offensive award meaning Bulittant Cough and then turn around
and won the Defensive Player of the Year in the
college football That's a corner, not a linebacker, not an
edge rusher, a corner. Pretty impressive. And Odell got released
from the Dolphins.

Speaker 5 (01:02:49):
Yeah, Odell ode Yeah he got triple Yeah he's gone
after one season. Truth, Odell released.

Speaker 4 (01:02:57):
Yeah, he's not a damn th Hodel Beckhams's being just
a guy for about five years. Yeah yeah, yeah, he's not.

Speaker 5 (01:03:05):
He's not.

Speaker 4 (01:03:06):
He's not making any difference in anybody's you know, on
the field anymore.

Speaker 8 (01:03:10):
Yeah. Just a guy.

Speaker 5 (01:03:11):
Yeah, yeah, just a guy.

Speaker 4 (01:03:13):
He's had good career, say, but now he's just a
He's just a guy. Yeah there's a jack, just a guy, just.

Speaker 6 (01:03:19):
A jag just I mean, just a guy. Jag seven one, three,
two two five, seven ninety is the number to join.
We continue to roll along right here on Sports Talk
seven ninety. But before we get to that, let me
tell you about the Daisy dips from Daisy Sour Cream.
Daisy Sour Cream launched French onion and ranch sour cream dips,
and I love these dips. And these new dips from
Daisy Sour Cream are a game change or they taste
just as good as if they were homemade. They are
made with Daisy sour cream, real herbs and spices. The

(01:03:42):
new dips from Daisy Sour Cream are made with ingredients
you can find in your kitchen.

Speaker 5 (01:03:45):
Nothing more.

Speaker 6 (01:03:46):
If you haven't tried the new French onion and ranch
dips from Daisy, you need to give him a try.

the new French onion in ranch dips from Daisy Sour Cream.

(01:04:10):
It's the Daisy Dip. You cannot go wrong with the
Daisy dip by Daisy Sour Cream. The Shawn Salisbury Show continued.

Speaker 5 (01:04:20):
Let's get back up to the phone lines.

Speaker 15 (01:04:22):
Darryl, good morning, Hey, gentlemen, Good morning, Happy Friday. You know,
pretty cool thing about Travis Hunter, and cool for Deon Sanders.
Always loved Deon Sanders, who's my old Niner from years ago,
and always loved the guy's pretty cool stuff.

Speaker 14 (01:04:39):
But I have a question about my niners.

Speaker 15 (01:04:41):
Guys, man, What on earth is going on with my offense?
I mean, my defense got some players back and they're
looking pretty solid last night overall. But Brock Purdy, I
don't know what he's doing. I mean, I know we've
got a few players still, hear. I know Trent Williams

(01:05:01):
is out, but they don't Nobody can get open. People
are dropping balls. They don't look Proalympic at all. I mean,
I don't know whether they're play calling. I know Brock
Purty got married last year, the first year of marriage,
pulling his mind away from the game. I don't know
what's going on, guys, Why are they so bad?

Speaker 5 (01:05:19):
Well, I've seen a lot of them.

Speaker 4 (01:05:21):
I spent a lot of time going on in their
city and talking about them. I'm not going to make
the excuse, although it exists, because nobody's had more stars
injured during the season this year than them. But Rock
Purty looks at Rock Purtty at times, Darryl, and I'm
a huge fan.

Speaker 5 (01:05:37):
I am.

Speaker 4 (01:05:38):
I think he's a I think he's a really good player.
Rock Purty at times is playing like the last pick
of the last night. He played like the last pick
of the draft.

Speaker 5 (01:05:45):
He's yeah, he.

Speaker 4 (01:05:46):
Really and and he's a he's a very he's an overachiever.
I know the guy who's trained him since he was
like in junior high or started high school. And he
is extremely competitive. And he's more athletic than you think.
But he's not put it this way. He's like the
NFC's equivalent. But he's I think even more athletic than
to it. Does that make sense? Not overly physically gifted,

(01:06:07):
but a grinder. And when he's going in rhythm, he's
really good. Does that make sense to you and to
all of us? And I think he's a hell of
a player, but brock Purty needs greatness around him to
even succeed more.

Speaker 5 (01:06:17):
He's not like Josh Allen.

Speaker 4 (01:06:18):
If I threw Josh Allen into Carolina, He's still gonna
make a bunch of plays, right, he just is Carrie's it.
So it's like you got to have Kittle right and
Trent William's right, but he's he's an overachiever, but a
really good player. Haveing McCaffrey out has completely changed the
bandwidth of their offense. And whether it's Kyle Chasing, the
struggles of you know off season where they lost again

(01:06:40):
in a big game and there you know the hangover,
and these aren't excuses. I'm just trying to think. I
don't think basically what I'm saying. It's not just because
receivers and injuries to wide receivers right late, guys showing
up to camp, the continuity on both sides of the ball.
They haven't made huge plays on defense like we're used
to seeing. The running game is been solid because they

(01:07:01):
commit to it, but they don't have the bandwidth, as
I said, And who's their go to guy right now?
You know what I'm saying, so I think there's a
lot going on and think how many how many times
can you lose a coordinator and very before it eventually
like man, it catches up to you, right, And I
hate to say it, Daryl, this is one of Now,
do I think that they're gonna be down three years

(01:07:21):
in a row. Absolutely not. I think this is the
aberration where everything hit him at once and they need
a mental reset and now a guy walks off the
field in the middle of a football game as a coward.
I just put it this way. They're gonna they're gonna
get to watch this playoff season because you and I
both know they're not going and even if they got
in right now, they're not explosive enough on either side

(01:07:42):
of the ball to continue it. But I wouldn't think
that your woes are gonna be long, Darrel. They'll they'll
be back. They're too good and they're too talented. But
it all hit it once. You know, when that time
was like, oh I got this, and you're right, Brock's
got You know, he's married now, so I'm not saying
priority shift, but you know, is the attention to detail
the same him, because you know you've got to give
your significant other. I'm not saying that she's requiring it,

(01:08:04):
but that's just part of life. So life sets in
as well. So I think it all came down on
once and they're going to have a team that as
a team, they're going to need to reset and get
right mentally and physically in the off season.

Speaker 20 (01:08:14):
You mentioned maybe I missed it.

Speaker 15 (01:08:16):
I was at we had a Christmas party last night,
so I was watching the game at the same time.
I can and watch it all. You mentioned somebody walked
off the field like a.

Speaker 4 (01:08:23):
Coward, Devondre Camps Devondre Campbell, and because he because they
brought Greenlaw back from injury.

Speaker 5 (01:08:28):
He played.

Speaker 4 (01:08:29):
He wasn't hurt, he didn't have an injury, he admitted
on Instagram. He said, yeah, somebody's going to get a
hell of a player. During the game, when he was
asked to go, he said, I'm not playing. Before he
said he's not going in any and during the game
he left and walked to heat. He left, He quit,
He did not play. He would he wouldn't go in
when I asked to and he's not. He's not hurt,
and so it's big, big, Oh yeah, so he's going

(01:08:51):
to get cut and I hope he I hope he
has a resume for a second job, because football ain't
it obviously, and you could do nothing worse than nothing
worse to it teammate, then to quit on them when
they're fighting and scratching and needs you.

Speaker 5 (01:09:04):
Yeah, he's done.

Speaker 4 (01:09:04):
Yeah yeah, so if they he should be cut today.
By the time you finish your second cup of coffee,
he should be cut out West. So what a coward move.
And now they have to face that and deal with that.
So it's been one of those years for the forty
nine ers. Now they've they've had a lot of great ones.
This is just one of them too. You know, it's
a setback, not him, but the team and his setback

(01:09:25):
for that guy's career because I wouldn'tant him on my roster.
So yeah, yeah, all that stuff's going on for the
forty nine. So the answer is a long one, Darryl.
It's more than one thing, and it's a lot of them,
and you mentioned a couple of them as well.

Speaker 20 (01:09:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:09:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (01:09:37):
Another thing is I've heard rumors. I mean, I don't
like rumors.

Speaker 14 (01:09:40):
I mean, but some of them can be true.

Speaker 15 (01:09:42):
But you mentioned losing the coordinator. He's speaking about defensive coordinator.

Speaker 5 (01:09:47):
Yeah, I've heard that.

Speaker 15 (01:09:48):
Basically, how Kyle Shanahan, he does a lot of the
most of the play calling, if not all of them,
and he what he gets frustrated.

Speaker 14 (01:09:55):
He doesn't own take own this for his own mistake.

Speaker 15 (01:09:58):
He blames everybody else in the spire.

Speaker 4 (01:10:00):
Yeah, and Kyle's a very They've given Kyle in truth
what they probably need to do with John Lynch. Kyle's
got too much personnel. You know, when the general manager,
a coach wants to be a general manager too, even
though he and Lynch are, you know, side by side.
But when a coach spends all the time on personnel,
you kind of lose a little bit of what got

(01:10:20):
you success from in the first place, leading people and
being a great play caller, and his dabbling and constant
in the personnel decisions. Of course you want you the
head coach, but you got to leave that to the
people you did trust to hire, to go scout talent
and do it all so it can take you. I
don't believe you can be, for the most part, a
great general manager and a great head coach. Holmgrin tried
it when he gave up the general manager job. They

(01:10:42):
went to the Super Bowl in Seattle. So I just
don't think it works very often. And yeah, and a
lot of defensive coaches defensive side have left, but Kyle
does call the play. So the continuity for the forty
nine ers is they've lost the continued continuity, you know,
Robert Sala and then Demiko Ryans and the I mean,
it just keeps going. So they they're going. They need

(01:11:02):
to reset in the off season, and they need to
get healthy. They're not They're not the same team we're
used to watching.

Speaker 14 (01:11:07):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:11:08):
And Deebo Samuels, I don't know what there you go.

Speaker 7 (01:11:11):
Yeah, where he's at.

Speaker 4 (01:11:13):
Well, it seems like, well, I don't know where his
head is. But I can tell you this that every
year we watch Deebo Samuel seems to make a difference
in every game, and when he's making a difference, they win.
But when he's gone silent or not playing or not involved,
the forty nine ers are a different team, no doubt
about it. Appreciate you, Daryl Yeap, Hang in there, brother Matt,

(01:11:34):
It'll get better. Appreciate it. Yeah, Niners are a mere
shell of their former set. At least this year. I
don't know what the hell has happened to U? Deebo
Samuel Huh. Well, the best way I can put it is,
this is not a good year.

Speaker 6 (01:11:49):
No, no, it's not talking about you know, dropping passes
left and right?

Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:11:55):
What would you rather drop passes or drop dimes? Drop dimes?
Because ALcom?

Speaker 4 (01:12:01):
Yeah, what's wrong with you?

Speaker 8 (01:12:05):
A lot?

Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
It's a lot?

Speaker 14 (01:12:07):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:12:08):
You're not going to walk out on your teammates. Sorry, No, huh.
You're here to stay right? Yea, yeah, I'm here.

Speaker 8 (01:12:13):
I'm here.

Speaker 1 (01:12:13):
Dog.

Speaker 4 (01:12:14):
You want to play right? You want to you want
to pee right? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:12:15):
Of course.

Speaker 4 (01:12:16):
I just make it for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
I do.

Speaker 4 (01:12:17):
I do now you are you? Are you gonna?

Speaker 5 (01:12:19):
Do you need any time away for reasons?

Speaker 10 (01:12:21):
No?

Speaker 15 (01:12:22):
You?

Speaker 8 (01:12:23):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:12:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:12:24):
I don't go to Diddy parties.

Speaker 4 (01:12:26):
That's a good thing. Yeah, okay, it's a.

Speaker 5 (01:12:29):
Really good thing for more than one reason.

Speaker 4 (01:12:31):
Now tell you what the Thames and Thames aims the
same things that seem to make them laugh at these
parties and have fun, make people cry. Gross, I'm making
a lot of them cry. Now.

Speaker 5 (01:12:43):
No I'm not.

Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
I'm not going anywhere. Yeah, okay, good. I just want
to make sure if you have if you need personal reasons, No,
you got you.

Speaker 5 (01:12:48):
No, No, I fixed the hammy that I had, So
we're good man.

Speaker 4 (01:12:52):
And load management. You finally got you. You finally you're
done with that too.

Speaker 5 (01:12:55):
I mean, yeah, we're working on Christmas Eve, so yeah,
we're here.

Speaker 17 (01:12:58):
Dog.

Speaker 5 (01:12:59):
Don't you worry, don't you worry.

Speaker 4 (01:13:00):
Don't you worry about a thing?

Speaker 6 (01:13:02):

Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
Sean Salisbury continues on seven ninety.

Speaker 22 (01:14:56):
Hey, good morning fellas real quick one question for you, Sean.
I want to see if you had saw the Brett
Farv Mark Gastino video.

Speaker 5 (01:15:04):
Yes, I saw it, Okay.

Speaker 20 (01:15:07):
What did you think about it?

Speaker 22 (01:15:08):
Did you think that Mark Gasnell was out of line
for confronting him, Because me personally, I always thought that
maybe Brett Farv laid down on that sack with Michael Strahan,
but just just for Mark Gasn will come out of
the blue, out of nowhere and tell me he owes
him a sack and caught from the hall of time.

Speaker 5 (01:15:23):
I thought, what's kind of shocking.

Speaker 4 (01:15:24):
Oh it was, but you know what, the end of career,
you never know what's going on in guy's mind. And
you know what I'm talking about, right, whether it's been
hit too many times or and it affected Gastono. He
was emotional when he talked to me. It really bothered him.
And Farv came out right exactly and Mark was the
hell of a player, and in truth, he had a
phenomenal He was one of the great pass rushers we

(01:15:46):
had and we beat to a different drum. Aren't they
doing a documentary on that? So is that kind of
a made for TV thing? To the camera was rolling? Well,
well it was going on, So I don't know, and
Farv obviously caught off guard and even talked about so media.
So I agree with you, but I think it's I
think it's bull sides. One is, there's a lot of
people who don't care what Brett Farr thinks because of

(01:16:08):
some of the things that have happened. Right, and there
is no doubt Brett favre at the end of that game,
and no one who did not make an effort to
make a play considering the circumstances of the game. You're
exactly right, and you can't deny that matter of fact.
He kind of half when he answered it. He kind
of half. I don't want to say, admitted it, but
without denying. Because of the game situation, just going down

(01:16:30):
made it easy for Strayhand. Now that's not to take
away from how good stray Hand was, but yeah, probably
wrong timing. But when it's a made for TV documentary.
It's going to move the needle. It has already has.
And some people are going to say they have no
compassion for Brett and you're going to find compassion for Gas.
And then there's going to be the third you know,
or a group that says, well, Mark's emotional and it's

(01:16:51):
the only record in the NFL that he would and
that's a hard record, what twenty two and a half
or twenty three sacks, whatever it is. So I get
Mark's emotion. And but we're in an age now, and
you make a great point in this, but you know
how this goes. Anytime somebody we see people five people
kicking somebody in a rib cage or beating up on
somebody and a personal run of video instead of go

(01:17:11):
help them. So you shouldn't be shocked that a camera
was rolling on that and you could hear the audio
as well. It'll make for it'll make for good television
everywhere you go. FARV probably could have made a play
and at least made Mike work for the sack. Michael
Strahan is the innocent one, but what's he supposed to be?
Tapped him while he was down. It's not like I

(01:17:32):
don't think they called each other and said, take a dive.
I don't think straight hand he's more integrity filled to
that and gas to know, that's a hell of a
record to try and get to. Even the Graymy and
Lawrence Taylor couldn't get to it. JJ Watt couldn't get
to it. TJ Watt couldn't get to it. Hell of
a record. So I understand Mark's emotion in it, but
I probably miss timed. But when they're rolling it for
a documentary, they'll say it was perfectly timed.

Speaker 1 (01:17:56):
You good there, Yeah, yeah, I agree.

Speaker 22 (01:18:00):
I was actually surprised that Gasono isn't in the Hall
of Fame with him and were an awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:18:06):
One, phenomenal, phenomenal and and Leo is in the Hall
of Fame. Yeah really I think her last handful of
years right, But I can tell you this, And Brett
admitted he made a post on Twitter on actually said
that Mark Gaston was the hell of a player and
that he was sorry that that probably could have You know,
maybe that sack record helps get him into the Hall

(01:18:27):
of Fame, and maybe it does, but one sack and
not having the record shouldn't diminish how good a player
Mark Gastonoll was, but records mean something to somebody, and
for Mark that that's I mean, when you're when you're
over twenty sacks in a single season, to me, that's
it feels unfathomable, doesn't it. It's almost feels like a
quarterback thrown for six thousand yards. That's what it feels

(01:18:48):
like to me. So and maybe in this generation six
thousand yards isn't so crazy, But in Mark Gastonow's generation,
throwing for six thousand yards or getting twenty plus sacks
was a was a hell of an accomplishment.

Speaker 5 (01:18:58):
So yeah, they're, they're, they're.

Speaker 4 (01:19:00):
There's a lot to gather, there's a lot of there's
a lot of limbs on that tree and on that branch,
my man. So good point, Dennis, thanks for calling, brother.
I appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (01:19:07):
Hey, Hey, real quick crazy stat from last night the
Rams and forty nine ers. Remember earlier in the show,
I said Cooper Cup didn't register one fantasy point. Cooper
Cup ran four point six to nine miles last night
during that game. That's per Next Gen Stats, this is
the largest distance run in a game in NFL history.

(01:19:32):
Zero receptions, zero yards, no touchdowns, and.

Speaker 5 (01:19:36):
They still won. I ought to tell you how bad.

Speaker 4 (01:19:38):
The forty nine ers were playing twelve to six and
the Rams still got a chance. Now, yeah, they can
go win the division after all this, after all this, Yeah,
go win the division.

Speaker 5 (01:19:46):
Crazy had a good always does.

Speaker 4 (01:19:50):
I can make an argument if you're picking four receivers
in a league to line up in a four wide,
you've taken him Pokinka. Yeah, who are they? I don't
care if lot inside they let's assume that. Now play
inside or outside. You name, you're four, Jamar Chase top
of the well, Jefferson and Chase at the top of
the list, right.

Speaker 6 (01:20:06):
Yeah, Jefferson goes to the first two and then Nikua.
You said you're gonna put him in, Pookin Nakua and
then honestly, man, and this isn't some homer stuff, Nico Collins, dude,
the home run power that he has or the home
run ability that he has, he's one of the top
still top in the league.

Speaker 5 (01:20:23):
And he missed all he missed four games, five games.

Speaker 4 (01:20:27):
Yeah, I have to look into my those three are
for sure in I'm trying to think, are we missing somebody?
You know, there's Tyreek Hill if you want to you know,
that speak. Put it this way, I may, I may
be a year away from Nico Collins, one more full
year of health and getting going right before I put
him in there. But if you put him in your
top four right now, it'd be hard to argue. I think,

(01:20:49):
what what separates him from some of these other like
the size and the fscality. Not even in my conversation
with that.

Speaker 6 (01:20:56):
I'm just going down the list of statistics, right yeah,
top five, Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson, Ceedee Lamb, Jerry Judy,
and actually brock Bowers.

Speaker 5 (01:21:04):
As far as.

Speaker 4 (01:21:05):
Rockers, brock Bowers is going if he gets a consistent,
really good quarterback, brock Bauers is going to be a ultimate.
He is going to be a dominant star. He's the
next receiving Kelsey in the league. Yeah, he really is. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:21:20):
Also, looking just looking at some of these numbers, Terry
McLaurin for Washington's had a really good season.

Speaker 4 (01:21:25):
As I'm and Ross Saint Brown, obviously he would be there.
There you go, he would be my fourth right now. Yeah,
thank you, I said I'm missing something. I put Am
and Ross Saint Brown. But if I got somebody coming
off the bench and Nico Collins at far behind. I
just want one more seventeen game full season of him,
and then, because Saint Brown's been doing this for a
couple of years the top. I put it this way,

(01:21:47):
it's easier to leave Nico Collins off right now because
the numbers and the and the durability.

Speaker 5 (01:21:51):
Yeah, but let's have the conversation next year.

Speaker 4 (01:21:54):
It may be hard to matter of fact, I might
put Nico Collins even closer in the Nakua thing than
I would Sat Brown, even though Naku is sick. Yeah,
maybe I need a couple more years in the Coup
in the league. But I can go wrong. I can't
go wrong with those five.

Speaker 6 (01:22:07):
Well, I think also if if now, just for the
argument's sake, if you're talking about injuries, pooking, the Coup
has only played in nine games so and Nico Collins
is only in eight. So those two probably one A
not one A would be three A, three B.

Speaker 5 (01:22:19):
I guess maybe three and four. Yeah, those would be
three the first two or two. The first two is
a no brainer.

Speaker 6 (01:22:23):
Yeah, Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase, Jamar Chase first, Justin
Jeffers second.

Speaker 5 (01:22:27):
Actually one A, one B.

Speaker 6 (01:22:28):
But if you want to talk about two full seats
or full season for two guys Pooking, a Coup and
Nico Collins. I think there's four, and then I'm ros
Saint Brown is probably right there too.

Speaker 4 (01:22:36):
There's and there is absolutely no frigging out about it.
And Nikup is gonna catch like eight million balls over
the next ten years.

Speaker 5 (01:22:43):
And that's with Cooper Cup on the same team.

Speaker 4 (01:22:44):
Yeah, no doubt. And remember Cooper Cup was a triple
Crown winner.

Speaker 5 (01:22:47):
What three years ago? Two years ago, two years ago? Sick?
It is sick.

Speaker 6 (01:22:50):
All right, Let's get into the eight o'clock hour right
here on the Seawan Salisbury Show.

Speaker 18 (01:22:54):
ADM E's Houston a CD EHD two Houston, my heart
radio station, the Astros, Star Rockets, Rockets, past fall, your
home for your home teams.

Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
This is Sports Talk seven ninety Salisbury, Old Very Salsbury, Houston.

Speaker 1 (01:23:16):
Okay, let's do this. Sewn Salisbury.

Speaker 23 (01:23:21):
There to usc true longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 1 (01:23:24):
Ryan Lima, go Lobos.

Speaker 3 (01:23:27):
This is the Sewn Salsbury Show.

Speaker 5 (01:23:32):
Kyle Tucker, we'll talk about him this segment.

Speaker 6 (01:23:35):
Still an Astro as of now Rockets and Thunder Tomorrow
night in Las Vegas the NBA Cup semi Finals tip off.
His schedule for seven thirty launch Pad. We'll start right
here on seven ninety at six point thirty. Of course,
you can catch all of the Rockets game right here
on seven ninety your home for Rockets basketball. Seven one, three,

(01:23:55):
two two five, seven ninety is the number to join biscuit.

Speaker 7 (01:23:58):
What's happening hey, top of the morning. My brothers well,
Lima Shine, after watching the ESPN last night in an
award show man, I think this is shaping up to
be a close race for that Heisman, Sean, And.

Speaker 5 (01:24:14):
It was for the first two. There's no doubt, no.

Speaker 7 (01:24:17):
Doubt, yeah, because usually you know, kind of like the
Golden Globes to the Oscars, you if you win the Maxwell,
you win the Heisman. But that's not always the case. Shine.
I don't know if you remember. Back in nineteen eighty nine,
my cousin and I tease him all the time. My cousin,
he won every award, Shine. He wanted to walk the

(01:24:38):
camp he wanted the Maxwell, he wanted to do Walker
and he wanted, but he came in second in the Heisman,
Andre where and so I'm thinking it might be the
same case for Hunter, I think I'm thinking they might
lean towards Entry, even though hunters Man. It's some of
the stats that he only gave up four first downs, and.

Speaker 4 (01:25:00):
Like, man, I'd take him before any quarterback in the draft.
He's a better player than all of them. Ain't no
quarterback in the movie. And then and then yeah, and
then Jenty doing what he does inside power, outside burst.
The guy's phenomenal. Yeah, you're right, this one maybe is
I think most people believe Hunter is gonna win it.

(01:25:23):
But I can tell you this, this may be one
of the closest ones we've.

Speaker 5 (01:25:26):
Had in a long long time.

Speaker 4 (01:25:28):
I mean I'm talking about I'm talking about like photo
finished type close. Third and fourth are going to finish
a distance. The majority of the votes are going to
go first place votes for these two cats. Here no
doubt and both. The truth is we never we never
had a co heist movie. You could actually split this
one in two and be happy with both, couldn't you.
With the with the way they've dominated their game each
and every week, Yeah, no doubt, agreed.

Speaker 7 (01:25:49):
And the thing about it is shine and you know
is it is done by regions.

Speaker 5 (01:25:54):
Yep.

Speaker 7 (01:25:55):
And so because like my cousin won like the East,
the Midwest, the Southeast, but out west he came like
in third in a couple categories, and that kind of
hurt him, you know what, I instead him coming in second.
So that's why I think travel Hunters is gonna get beat.

Speaker 4 (01:26:09):
And I know who your cousin is. Let the people know,
so they know, Jill. I'll let it come out of
it coming because we've talked about him before.

Speaker 7 (01:26:16):
Anthony Thompson. He was the running back Indiana.

Speaker 5 (01:26:18):
There you go, great player too, and that great guy.

Speaker 7 (01:26:21):
Right, And what I'm saying is, Sean, Uh, I think
that Dion factor may come back to hurt Hunter, meaning
that I think some people are gonna maybe put Hunter
like third or fourth in some regions instead of being second.
And then I think that's gonna be what's gonna come back.

Speaker 4 (01:26:44):
That's a that's a great point because then you could
look at the opposites and I agree with you because
and some that are have disdained for Dion right and
the way he does things right, we're there where it
becomes a personal thing as opposed to just a football Well,
I don't like all the hype that they get blah blah,
blah and Dion and and knowing the media and the pain,
you know, whatever it is, they're gonna so not making

(01:27:05):
him forth and quite frankly, sometimes on the West coast,
somebody on the East doesn't see their games as much, right,
It just that happens, like what happened with Andrew Luck
Well that and both of these guys playing read the
top two, playing an area where we don't usually get
Heisman Trophy.

Speaker 5 (01:27:20):
I mean all that talk.

Speaker 4 (01:27:21):
I know, we've had Colorado before, had really great running backs,
and but you know what I'm saying with those two,
it's like, Okay, it's sound like they're playing at Michigan
Ohio State. Now. The other side of it is, though,
will you biscuit, do you think there's some did love
the Dion factor. They're gonna put Hunter and vote him
first because they've seen him more. Because Dion's on TV

(01:27:42):
and knows how to you know, when I say manipulate,
I mean he knows how to work the media and
then the pub they've gotten. Do you think that that
could also work in Travis Hunter's favor?

Speaker 19 (01:27:51):
I think so.

Speaker 7 (01:27:52):
In the East, at least, you know, the Colorado games
probably would have seen more than the boys state games.
You know, Colorado was more prime time because and.

Speaker 4 (01:28:05):
Then, let's face facts, genty for people who maybe in
the East, a lot of people only saw him on highlights.
They didn't see the full game exactly.

Speaker 7 (01:28:13):
Yeah, so it's gonna be interesting. If I was a
bet man, I'm going gentry.

Speaker 4 (01:28:22):
And I would vote for him with a close one
to Hunter. Second, I'm I would have thought you would
have said, yeah, probably Hunter because the versatile I loved that.
And you know what, I don't usually watch the ceremony
till like the last seven minutes because just when they're
about to call it, I'm actually going to tune into
this one because I actually think that leading up to
a word, I mean, I'm I'm actually confused as to

(01:28:43):
who's gonna win it. I know who first and second are.
I just don't know what area they're going to go
and where the disdain for one is and the emotion
and compassion for another and watching them and then did
you see this and how much the hype wins somebody
the award? I know this both got a pretty damn
good Sunday future. Brother, that'll be fun to watch too,
So I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 5 (01:29:02):
Great stuff, biscuit. We appreciate You'll talk to you next week.

Speaker 7 (01:29:04):
Man, Yes, sir.

Speaker 5 (01:29:07):
Gents, you should win it. I don't care what anybody says.

Speaker 4 (01:29:09):
He would get my vote and Hunter second. And then
you can say who's getting in the NFL. Hunter's going
before him, and but Gent's played him way into the
first round. Yeah, there's no doubt about it. How about
the talk of Quinn yours, the chance was transferring, transferring
after the season's over to a Big ten school because

(01:29:31):
there's a four million or four million plus on the
table to reget his draft stock up and play another year.
Because in truth, if he comes back there, he's probably
not gonna start.

Speaker 5 (01:29:41):
No, they're going to move on there.

Speaker 4 (01:29:43):
It's either going to be transferred over the NFL, right
or because at Texas I don't think arch Man is
your starter. No, yes, So with that, does he go
back get his mechanics dialed in because right now there's
there's reports that they don't have any of the top
four quarterbacks in the draft, which would mean probably a
plummet out of the first round. Yeah, in this year's class,

(01:30:04):
because I don't think this year's quarterback class for NFL
first round picks.

Speaker 5 (01:30:08):
I don't think it's that good. It's not.

Speaker 4 (01:30:10):
I think I actually think your bigger, better bargains from
like second to the fourth round, grabbing some of that.
Sam Sanders is more likely, as we said now that
the first of the quarterback season. I wouldn't pick him
first in the draft. I don't think he's I don't
think anybody's worthy of the number one pick at quarterback
in this year's draft. So that being said, maybe yours
does go which lives? Is it Penn State? Is it sc?

(01:30:30):
Is it back to a lot?

Speaker 8 (01:30:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:30:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:30:32):
Could he go back to Oho State? Coming into the season.

Speaker 4 (01:30:34):
Who are the two names that we talk ab or
is it Michigan as they wait for that young the
recruiter that it gives you a year and they couldn't
throw up this year?

Speaker 5 (01:30:42):
Yeah, throwing the football.

Speaker 6 (01:30:43):
Who are the two names that we talked about coming
into this season in the college football season that would
be the.

Speaker 5 (01:30:47):
Top beck in yours?

Speaker 4 (01:30:49):
Yeah? Exactly, big bodies and the rest of both regress. Well,
right now, I can't draft I can tell you this.
I can't draft either one of them in the first
fifteen picks. No, you can't. And Carson Beck's not a
first round No, he's not maybe a third rounder.

Speaker 6 (01:31:01):
We don't even know if he's going to play in
the College FOOTBA playoff because he's have apparently he's got
a UCL injury.

Speaker 4 (01:31:06):
And I'm not hit. I'm not sure if he was
semi healthy that you wouldn't play the backup right now.

Speaker 6 (01:31:11):
Well, with the energy that the team came in and
played with when put a backup came in.

Speaker 4 (01:31:15):
Put it this way, guess what George is not worried
about if Beck plays or not right, they may tell
you they're worried about They're not worried about it. No,
this is one of those Oh, you go ahead and
take another week, and if he doesn't start the first
playoff game and this kid does, and this kid plays great,
guess who's not getting to start the second playoff.

Speaker 5 (01:31:34):
Game, Carson Back.

Speaker 4 (01:31:35):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 6 (01:31:36):
Yeah, So it's it's interesting to see if quin you
were as transfers once these college FOTBA playoffs are over,
because I would.

Speaker 4 (01:31:42):
Can you imagine going back to a horse state? Would
you want him back?

Speaker 5 (01:31:46):
I like Quin No, I mean talking about no, I
wouldn't when.

Speaker 4 (01:31:50):
He when he left to come here in the first place.

Speaker 5 (01:31:52):
Would you want him back? No, I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (01:31:53):
If you're sc would you want him?

Speaker 5 (01:31:55):
Probably would.

Speaker 4 (01:31:56):
If you're Michigan as a bridge to the young kid,
absolutely yeah, if you're paying State all day every.

Speaker 5 (01:32:01):
Day, right, I'll stay.

Speaker 10 (01:32:03):
No.

Speaker 5 (01:32:03):
Probably not that to me.

Speaker 4 (01:32:04):
That seems like the fourth one on the list, But
there is talk of four million plus and heading to that.
What he does need to do is for NFL scouts,
if he does go, he's got to have a great
run here in the playoffs, and he's got to have
a great offseason in front of those guys. Yeah, because
right now I think there are some that don't have
quinn Ewers in the first round.

Speaker 6 (01:32:22):
They don't. I don't think they do. He's regressed, and
so is Carson Beck. Seven one, three, two five, seven
ninety is the number to join again. We've got Aaron Wilson,
NFL Insider coming up at eight thirty to talk Texans
and Dolphins. Take a quick look at the Kyle Tuckers
sweep steaks, trades, trades, trades. Will the Astros trade him today?

(01:32:44):
There's a report out this morning that the Cubs are
the favorites to land Kyle Tucker what's that about. We'll
talk about that next right here on Sports Talk seven ninety.
But before we get to that, let me talk to
you about Daisy Sour Kream and the new Daisy Dips
by Daisy Sour Cream, the French onion and ranch sour
cream dips. I love these dips, and these new dips
from Daisy Soalura Cream are a game changer. They taste
just as good as if they were homemade. They're made

(01:33:05):

new dips from Daisy Sour Cream are made with ingredients
you can find in your kitchen nothing more. So give
these new French onion and ranch dips from Daisy a
try adam to your game day spread. Army Navy playing tomorrow,
so lay out that game day spread. If you're having
a holiday party, or if you're having a football watch party,

sure to have the new French onion ranch dips from
Daisy Sour Cream a part of the spread. Pair them
with your favorite ships, wings, vegetables, and other foods. You
can find them at your local grocery store. I saw
a big selection of them over at the local chib
up in the Woodlands. So I'm assuming they're gonna be
at hibs across the city of Houston. Get over to
that grocery store and pick up the new dips, the

(01:33:47):
Daisy sour Cream Daisy Dips.

Speaker 3 (01:33:52):

Dall it's seven ninety uh seven ninety is the number
two join us talk to Conrad James. Conrad James, appreciate
you holding good morning. How you doing, gentlemen? And I

(01:36:17):
had the iHeart app?

Speaker 19 (01:36:19):
I like it.

Speaker 4 (01:36:20):
There you go.

Speaker 25 (01:36:21):
Okay, so your assistant helped me with my first question
about what this NBA Cup is about. I even google
it still could figure it out. But why or what
was going on? But now let me get to the Rockets. Okay, okay,
So the Rockets aren't going to outshoot you, but what

(01:36:42):
I saw the other night with the Rockets with Golden State,
they can outplay you on defense. And their defense. They
can screw it down and win the game with a
strong defense.

Speaker 4 (01:36:56):
They're excellent.

Speaker 25 (01:36:57):
Now where they're not excellent is the choices of shots
that they're taking.

Speaker 8 (01:37:03):
Now.

Speaker 25 (01:37:03):
I don't know why this still continues, but they'll get
the ball, they'll cross half cord and within three maybe
four seconds, they're launching a bomb with somebody in their face,
which is a low percentage of shot. Now, if they
did this one or two times the game, no big deal.

(01:37:23):
But I'm watching them play and at least twenty percent
of the time they're not using the twenty.

Speaker 14 (01:37:31):
Four second clock. So I would like you to.

Speaker 25 (01:37:36):
Comment on that. And boy, I want to give a
shout out to Segude. That is an excellent center. So
let me know what you think about.

Speaker 4 (01:37:48):
Before you go anywhere, Conrad James. Not just shot selection,
but why do you want them to Why is it
necessary to get the clock down to zero or to
one be for you to Why do I need to
run the shot go? Why can't I play with temple?
Why do I mean, like in high school they say
pass twice before you get it, and I know shot

(01:38:09):
selection has something to do with it, but why do
we need to take the clock down and play slow.

Speaker 25 (01:38:14):
Okay, great, great question, And because the sake of brevity,
I didn't really go into those nuances. But you know,
you got a twenty four seconds clock. I'm not saying
you have to get it down to zero. Can you
use ten seconds and get a better five percent a

(01:38:36):
shot or maybe draw foul.

Speaker 4 (01:38:39):
So you're basically saying, even if you shoot it with
eighteen seconds left on the clock, make sure you're getting
the best shot each time down the floor, regardless of
where the shot clock is.

Speaker 5 (01:38:50):
More selective, more selective, is what you're saying.

Speaker 25 (01:38:53):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, they're not yeah yeah, they're not
being selective. They're just three seconds, four seconds. Okay, I
gotta launch this bomb. But if you would just give
yourself another five seconds, pass it around, perhaps you can
get a three point, play a foul or something like that.
They're not thinking, they're not thinking.

Speaker 4 (01:39:15):
Fair enough appreciate it. Conrad James, Thanks, Brian. I like
a football offense. I don't mind tempo.

Speaker 5 (01:39:22):
I like tempo.

Speaker 4 (01:39:23):
But well, I think what he as we said he's
talking about. Okay, if there's fifteen seconds on the shot
clock and you got a contested three, and you got
a guy who's at a fifteen foot mid range and
you can get in the ball and there's a little
more spacing right and take the extra pass or the
extra second to get a shot. And I agree with that.
And they're still in a phase of learning how to

(01:39:43):
three and D. And I'll tell you what I love
about what he said. The difference in this team is
if I went into the season, were you worried about
them being.

Speaker 5 (01:39:51):
Able to score? What were you worried about defense?

Speaker 4 (01:39:54):
He led his conversation off with I like the way
they playing on the defense. Man, I told you the
other night, making free throw you're not scoring Jalen Green
and then turning around and getting back and defending on
the other end and contesting a shot that doesn't have
a chance to go in to hurt you instead of
giving him a shot. And they're not living on hope
on defense. They're playing. And we said, when things are
going bad offensive, you could always control how hard you

(01:40:15):
play defensively. Can't control sometimes the shot goes in or
you don't have it. But I can control effort on
the defensive end, and I can control that. So that's
something that will all listen. You're gonna have nights where
you score ninety, Yeah, can you win?

Speaker 5 (01:40:28):
Right? Can you win those games?

Speaker 4 (01:40:29):
Because if you win those games, that means your defense
is intense the entire time. Those nights when you don't score,
when you score one thirty, you're gonna win.

Speaker 5 (01:40:40):
Most of the time.

Speaker 4 (01:40:41):
It's the other end, those close ones, those five or
ten or fifteen, when the offense just nobody's got their shot.
Can you pull it off? And you know how you
pull it off hitting free ones, playing defense. So when
we're starting a conversation with the Rockets on defense, U
Doka is making his impact.

Speaker 5 (01:40:55):
Yeah, there is no doubt. Man, love you may you Doka.

Speaker 6 (01:40:58):
They take on the Thunder tomorrow night in Las Vegas
and the NBA Cup Semifinals seven.

Speaker 5 (01:41:03):
One three, seven ninety.

Speaker 6 (01:41:05):
Let's welcome in NFL insider Aaron Wilson as we talk
about the Texans and Dolphins matchup on Sunday next on
Sports Talk seven.

Speaker 4 (01:41:11):
Ninety and we're there the Shawn Salisbury Show continued as
we do KPRC Channel two. You get all this great
work at Sports seven ninety dot com as well and
on Twitter x at Aaron Wilson.

Speaker 5 (01:41:25):
Aaron, welcome in, Brother Happy holidays.

Speaker 4 (01:41:26):
We'll get you before Christmas time anyway, big three game
stretch after the bye. We don't want to discuss last
year's bye. We know what happened to them in Carolina
coming out of the buy a hopefully different result. But
let's start on the defensive side. How big is no
Pe Tree and no Alshi here? Not only for the stretch,
but this week against the team who's got phenomenal team speed.

Speaker 8 (01:41:46):
It hurts and you're losing to athletic guys. There's two
your better tacklers who the better tacklers in the NFL,
especially p Tree the amount pop he has is a
really sound tackler, very talented at that and Al Shayer
is your best cover linebacker, your leader, your team captain,
and to not have him because of the suspension has

(01:42:08):
been oh only discussed this a little bit, right, guys
kidding It's very very harmful to a defense, but they
do have depth. Jimmy Ward has done a good job
as a nickel Fannian for Jalens like this is a surprise.
Jalen as our first beat Barshal Taurus pectoral and then decided,

(01:42:31):
after a lot of sex paints to have the surgery
with I'll shire. It's a little different how they'll fill
in this time because they have another option. They have
Christian Harris to work in tandem with Devin White and
with Henry Toteau and w Hewitt, so they've got depth
at that position. It's not quite the same, but they

(01:42:52):
have some linebackers that are capable, and they held it
down when he was injured earlier this season, missed three
games with the knee injury, So yeah, I think they
can handle it. The Dolphins haven't been running the ball
particularly well lately, but it's other games that might be
more problematic.

Speaker 19 (01:43:08):
But this is the game.

Speaker 8 (01:43:10):
Like Jill Mixon said, we're desperate too. Texans need this one.
They could clinch the divisions if they win and the
Colt flues to the Broncos, and.

Speaker 4 (01:43:19):
Colts losing to the Broncos is big time in play
with the way the Broncos defense plays.

Speaker 5 (01:43:23):
All right, what is the biggest in your.

Speaker 4 (01:43:25):
Opinion or from you know being around them the last
handful of days, what is their biggest trigger meaning the
defense and Demico Ryans trigger stress level from the Dolphins offense.
If there's one thing they say, this can't happen that
their offense can't do this to us or we're in trouble.

Speaker 19 (01:43:42):
What is it?

Speaker 8 (01:43:44):
Big plays to Tyreek Hill Jaylen Waddle have to be
good at not just covering them, but also tackling these
guys after the catch. They're lit, tangerous after the catch.
They're good runners. That's just great runners, especially in the.

Speaker 4 (01:43:58):
Tief of Hill.

Speaker 8 (01:44:00):
You look at that. That's probably the biggest issue.

Speaker 4 (01:44:05):
With tow a Chile.

Speaker 14 (01:44:06):
Well, you have to.

Speaker 8 (01:44:07):
Affect the pocket. He does get the football very quickly,
and he leads the NFL and completion Percidas he's over
seventy eight percent, so he's a three consecutive three hundred
yard passing games and they have been a different football
team since he returns. And if he's galvanizer season, this
is a like a playoff game for the Dolphins because

(01:44:27):
if they lose, their playoff hoops are pretty much done.
They have a tiny bit of hope and Texans can
stamp out that hope.

Speaker 4 (01:44:37):
Aaron Wilson get him a KPRC Channel two on Twitter
at Aaron Wilson and also right here at Sports seven
ninety dot com. Been a great insider for us for
a long time look forward to on Friday conversations. All Right,
if we had to put one thing and injuries don't count,
we had to put one reason, the Texans offense, in
particular the second half. But quite frankly, it just hasn't

(01:44:57):
looked the same this year.

Speaker 8 (01:44:59):
What is I would say the other team is at
a better job of halftime adjustments. I would say that
they've had flat energy in the second half. Kind of
a combination of those two kind of wrinkle with the tie.

Speaker 4 (01:45:14):
But but why whenever, and you make such a great point,
but why how do you have flat energy when you're
when you're considered a super Bowl team or a late
playoff team coming into the season?

Speaker 19 (01:45:25):
World?

Speaker 5 (01:45:25):
Yeah, how does how do you and.

Speaker 4 (01:45:27):
I understand one game or if you're playing a bunch
of Now, if they have flat energy during the season,
how how in the world are they not going to
be a flat energy with three games in ten or
eleven days.

Speaker 8 (01:45:40):
I mean, it's inexplicable. Yeah, they're a tired football team.
They had a long training campus or some factors. I
think they've had some injuries. Everybody has injuries. They've had
a lot of no big injuries, you know, Miko Knosis
five games, stuff on BIGS Tour at a c L.
We want some personnel for long stretch of the season

(01:46:02):
that they were really relying on. Why they're flat in
the second half, with the exception of Jacksonville game, they
were had some life couldn't tell you. I mean, I
think it's it's an intangible thing. It's really hard to
put a beat on it. And I've asked a lot
of questions about it. There's no real great answer about that.
It's just no one can really explain it for you.

(01:46:26):
But it's a feeling and it's a vibe, and it's
a performance thing and we see it. It's evident and
it's an achilles hill for this team. Maybe they've righted
a ship, but you know, there was problems even last
week or whatever. In the win over Jacksonville the week before,
they allowed mac doones. After Trevor Lawrence gets knocked out

(01:46:48):
by a dash Shire, they have problems stopping him. They
have problems with Brian Thomas Jr. They're allowing a lot
of explosive plays. They's too good a defense, it's too
talent in the secondary. And then the rush. How that happened?

Speaker 5 (01:47:04):
Do you believe Aaron, this is a disciplined football team.

Speaker 8 (01:47:09):
They'd become better disciplined than where they were. They had
a penalty bug that was as bad as anybody or
in the NFL. They did eventually that problem. Remember that
was like all we could talk about in September. It
got better, they did. You know, it took a lot

(01:47:31):
of coaching. I think that's discipline. You know, if you
have a problem and you work on it, you get better.
I said's disciplined. They're not out of control. I don't
know if I could say they're undisciplined. I think they
listened to Mika Ryans and the coaching they did, and
they try to execute it. Are they perfect? No, I mean,

(01:47:52):
like every football team makes mistakes. They're no difference. But
they have made improvements. Pass protection, it was a crisis
right three four games ago, and then slidified it. THEYD
finally stabilized the last couple of weeks. So I called
that coaching.

Speaker 5 (01:48:09):
I call that disc One is this is this a
playoff offensive line?

Speaker 19 (01:48:15):
Well not really.

Speaker 8 (01:48:17):
I mean it's uh, it's Larry retunsible. He certainly is.

Speaker 4 (01:48:22):
He's ready for that post.

Speaker 5 (01:48:25):
Post post snap, right, Yeah, other guys.

Speaker 8 (01:48:28):
Haven't always played to that level. You know, there's been
ups and downs, and then they're shuffling again this week
because you Scruggs is out two to three weeks. He's
got a foot injury. Paint a plan tar uh kind
of collapse on him in there. He doesn't need surgery.
It's supposed to heal and he can be back this season.
For this week, they've split snaps with Kenyan Green, who

(01:48:53):
obviously is a shore point. You know, he's a first
out draft pick to have some struggles. He has worked
very hard to get better shape, had his moments as
a run blocker, probably their best run blocking guard that
they've got pass protection. You know, stats are what they are,
They're very good. But he's in the mix to get

(01:49:13):
his job back. Him or Zach Thomas. They have split
the reps this week. Exactly a former Patriots player, and
he's a converted tackle to the I think twenty one
guard snaps. Ever, so he's a very inexperienced guard, but
he's a fundamentally sound, you know, smart player and stays

(01:49:34):
in front of you. Not that much different from Dy
Jared Patterson's style kind of on you. Maybe not physically dominant,
but he's he's definitely i'd say, moves his feet well
and you know that technique. But yeah, that's their options
and I make a decision on that today on what

(01:49:55):
they're doing at left guard.

Speaker 4 (01:49:58):
Aaron Wilson for a couple more minutes here on Sports
Talk seven to ninety Aaron, the CJ.

Speaker 5 (01:50:02):
Stroud stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:50:03):
You know, in the off season, when people would ask me,
I'm sure you got asked a million times two about
are we worried about a sophomore slump?

Speaker 5 (01:50:11):
I don't look at that.

Speaker 4 (01:50:12):
Some guys, you know, defenses get better, you go through
and there there's people go through slumps. People go through
game slump, season slumps, maybe don't play as well. I
don't know if I'd put it that way, because we
know the guy can still play, but he hasn't played
as well.

Speaker 5 (01:50:24):
So how much of them?

Speaker 4 (01:50:26):
And because he set the expectation so high he's he's
a second year player, we still take that in consideration,
even though he spoiled us. How much of the offensive
woes Let's put him in SLOWK in the same categories
and say we're in it, and how much of the
offensive woes are on him and them?

Speaker 8 (01:50:43):
Well, highly culpable. You know, Bobby is his playbook. I
think they needed to simpifie it and they have lately.
In terms of CJ. He wasn't a comfortable quarterback. He
wasn't for the first time. He's stay saying see if
an adversity and ask protection issue where he's not in
the clean pocket. So it affected him. He was throwing

(01:51:05):
off his back foot. He wasn't fundamentally the same quarterback.
He did make a lot of nice things happen if
you consider how many sacks there.

Speaker 5 (01:51:11):
Could have been.

Speaker 8 (01:51:12):
I thought he ran out of a lot of trouble
and still tried to make some plays. But the league,
they watch you, they get a little of a book
on you. They get, you know, comfortable with what are
your strengths, what are your weaknesses? And I don't think
he has anything glaring. It's just when he saw some
flashes of this last week when the pocket was clean

(01:51:35):
and he you know, has regained some time and chemistry
with Nico Collins, it looked a little bit like last
year in moments. It's just about sustaining that. I think
that he's not some of his prone interceptions, that he
generally makes good decisions but everybody's thinking about pressure, and

(01:51:55):
definitely he's affected by it. And he's not impervious to anything,
but all quarterbacks aren't. If he hit Tom Brady enough,
it does affect his game, and I've seen it. I've
covered a lot of games. People think Brady's perfect. No,
he certainly covered a bunch of games where he played
Baltimore and Terrell Suggs. Those guys are all over him,
and he was rendered ordinary. A one can be affected

(01:52:19):
if you're hit enough.

Speaker 4 (01:52:21):
And you know what aaron about that too is I
think the thing that sticks out for me, and I'm
gonna get your score prediction real quick, but the thing
that sticks out for me is he's missed some simple
throws and maybe that's a that's the collateral damage of
the earlier pressures. Throws that he'd normally make, like a
deep over where the guy's open. He's missed the ordinary
throw at least that he's made look ordinary as a rookie,

(01:52:42):
the stuff that he normally makes. He's missed some of those,
which isn't normally, which hasn't been his mo since he's
been in.

Speaker 8 (01:52:48):
The league, right, and he did lose a I think
they just weren't able to really replace Steffan Diggs and
shows the value of Giggs. Giggs was a big part
of this football team. He was a team captain, and
he was having a hundred catch season and thousand yards.
He's gonna picks for all those things. And I believe
he would have gotten those things, just like you know,

(01:53:09):
if Miko Collins doesn't miss five games, yep, and he's
gonna have like fifteen sixteen hundred yards and probably about
one hundred catches too. They were gonna have. He generally
underscore enough how significant injuries to those two players affected everything.

Speaker 4 (01:53:25):
A full season of those two, yeah, a full season
those two may give you the one of the best
one to two punches in the league.

Speaker 8 (01:53:30):
And we're we'reverd a different conversation up strap. We're talking
about possibly, hey Pro Bowl, you know, not alternate Pro Bowl?

Speaker 4 (01:53:39):
Is he need go to it in maybe?

Speaker 8 (01:53:40):
Yeah, those things will have happened. They have to get
him more helpful wide receiver in the offseason. They got
to have offensive line. Some tough, tough conversations about the line.
But mean, while they're in the season and she got
a salvagees. You gotta adapt. You got to figure out
a way. They have an opportunity here to still do

(01:54:03):
some things Bill parcels, and once you're in the tournament,
anything can happen. They have a good chance to be
a playoff team and have a season that you know,
could be like last year. There see if they can
take another step. I don't know, nobody really thinks like
they're gonna make a lot of noise in the playoffs.
I'm sure that wull be your rallying cry for them,

(01:54:25):
just like as the vash are. They're still upset about that.
There's a lot of pres in that locker room that
have a problem with what happened, the djunication of that.
Maybe this rallies then maybe that's the emotion lift they
need because they're upset about it. But I know Joe
Mixon certainly is. And I'm gonna say this, by the way,
Joe has been a real breath of pressure. Great to

(01:54:46):
talk to him, one of the best interviews in that
locker room every week, brings it, and just a very
insightful guy and also having an outstanding season.

Speaker 4 (01:54:58):
I mean, he's easy. He's the offensive MVP. He's the
offensive MVP, period and I don't think it's class yep,
all right, so yep, no doubt about it and one
of the best five offseason pickups in the entire league.

Speaker 5 (01:55:11):
All right.

Speaker 4 (01:55:11):
With that job of that, there is no doubt about it.
Huge pickup, all right. Give me a score, who wins.

Speaker 8 (01:55:18):
Texting thirty Dolphins twenty four?

Speaker 10 (01:55:22):
Wow?

Speaker 5 (01:55:23):
And the better chance of going one in two or
two in one the next three games?

Speaker 8 (01:55:31):
One two, I'm not that glass half four. I think
that the Chiefs and the Ravens are a problem.

Speaker 5 (01:55:38):
There you go and Miami if there are.

Speaker 4 (01:55:40):
And if Miami's playing in space and getting the ball
out on time with to his accuracy, that could be
a problem as well. Its gonna be a great game
to watch. Can't wait to see it take the over
in the game, that's for sure. Hey, great stuff, Aaron.
We'll talk to you next week. Always appreciate you and
your great insight. Brother.

Speaker 8 (01:55:54):
Thanks thanks Sean great with YouTube.

Speaker 5 (01:55:56):
Brother, Thank you.

Speaker 4 (01:55:57):
We'll come back and discuss likes the likes the Texans
in this game, and according to his score, that's the over.
I think we're all there, so let's go. Me and
Brian Olim will be back. He's whacked out. We're gonna
get him some psychological help, and that's okay. We'll do
it right here on Sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 1 (01:56:15):
This Sean Salisbury Show continues.

Speaker 5 (01:56:21):
Coming up at nine o'clock more.

Speaker 6 (01:56:24):
I mean, my goodness, another report hot off the press,
sewn for Kyle Tucker. I wouldn't say it trades eminent,
but it looks like it could be eminent. Brah, crazy man.
Seven seven ninety is the number to join. Let's go
to Brandon. What's up, Brandon?

Speaker 20 (01:56:44):
Okay, I'm I was playing football today.

Speaker 5 (01:56:49):
That's good buddy. What's on your mind?

Speaker 10 (01:56:50):
This?

Speaker 4 (01:56:50):
Porting? Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:56:52):
Rockets and Texans?

Speaker 5 (01:56:54):
All right?

Speaker 4 (01:56:55):
What you got? I was hearing what is the name.

Speaker 15 (01:57:02):
What?

Speaker 1 (01:57:02):
Seawan interviewed Aaron Wilson. Yeah, mm hmm I heard what
the His score is.

Speaker 5 (01:57:09):
Thirty thirty to twenty four, Texans win. What's your score?

Speaker 4 (01:57:13):
Same?

Speaker 5 (01:57:15):
You got the Texans winning?

Speaker 1 (01:57:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:57:18):
Good deal?

Speaker 5 (01:57:19):
What you got on these Rockets? They play tomorrow night.

Speaker 1 (01:57:22):
Yep? Buckets needs to win and move on, yep.

Speaker 6 (01:57:26):
Taking on the thunder seven thirty. You're gonna be watching
on Brandon, You're gonna be watching.

Speaker 20 (01:57:35):
I'm yeah, I'm gonna be watching.

Speaker 5 (01:57:38):
Good deal on Space City on Network it's on ABC
tomorrow night.

Speaker 7 (01:57:43):
Oh is it?

Speaker 5 (01:57:44):
Yes?

Speaker 8 (01:57:47):
I will leave it on ABC.

Speaker 6 (01:57:48):
Then there you go where you can listen in to
it right here on Sports Talk seven on your home
for Rocks basketball.

Speaker 5 (01:57:52):
There's that as well.

Speaker 11 (01:57:54):
Yep.

Speaker 7 (01:57:54):
Hey, any news from the Astros.

Speaker 6 (01:57:57):
I got some news for the Astros, but it's coming
up next at nine o'clock, so make sure you stay
tuned right good, All right, Brandon, enjoy your weekend, buddy.

Speaker 5 (01:58:05):
We'll talk to you Monday.

Speaker 4 (01:58:07):
Have a good holiday you too, buddy, appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (01:58:10):
Let's go from one Brandon to another brand of brand.
I got about a minute for you, buddy. What's going on?
Oh much men?

Speaker 16 (01:58:15):
Good morning guys, Happy holidays soon. And I just want
to throw this mock trade at you guys and see
what y'all think. I was doing some digging this morning,
so I'm kind of the cup Yankees seem to be
the two favorites for Kyle Tucker's services, and I want
to throw this at you guys, see what you think.
Kind of creating my own mock trade. So the Yankees
would get Kyle Tucker and that sixteen million they're projected
in arbitration. Ryan Presley's fourteen million, and then we get
in return Luis Gill and know the deal's been talked

(01:58:37):
about centering around him Ben Rice, who's the first baseman,
and then they're number three and number six prospect George
Lombard Junior and then starting pitcher Chase Hampton. And I
want to see what you guys thought about that deal
four for two and I hang up and listen.

Speaker 1 (01:58:49):
Appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (01:58:49):
Appreciated Brandon, Yeah, I got some Lombards held in high
regard that idea.

Speaker 5 (01:58:54):
Yeah, yep.

Speaker 7 (01:58:57):
To me.

Speaker 4 (01:58:58):
On the on the front side of it, Cubs win
the deal on the earliest part. Now the pros, the
two prospects, and obviously who are the let's see, who
do you say at the beginning?

Speaker 5 (01:59:08):
For who it would be? Uh, you got Kyle Tucker.

Speaker 4 (01:59:10):
No, But but for who Cubs come in the two prospects?
Who do he says? The players?

Speaker 5 (01:59:16):
Oh, he said, uh, Heel, which lou Heel? And yeah,
he said Gil, but I was it's Heel. And then
who was the other one?

Speaker 4 (01:59:24):
I came up?

Speaker 5 (01:59:24):
He had a first baseman? First, Gosh, it's did you say,
Ben Rice?

Speaker 4 (01:59:29):
Yes? There Ben Rice. Who's who's got some game? And
Hel's proved that he I mean, at least early in
his career, has got game. I think on the on
the early part of it, people would say that's all
we got. That's my opinion.

Speaker 5 (01:59:41):
I do like we four for two.

Speaker 4 (01:59:43):
Well, I wouldn't even mind asking that third prospect to
be a two or a one prospect.

Speaker 5 (01:59:47):
You know what I'm saying. Kyle Tucker's worth a one.
You're in your number one.

Speaker 8 (01:59:50):
He just is.

Speaker 4 (01:59:50):
But if you're gonna go three and six, that's that's
a pretty good gig. And like I said, I know Lombard.
I don't know much about the the other one, but
I know Lombard's held in the high regard and has
been for a minute, right. So I think on the
early side of it, you're saying, well, you get a
big time closer when he's in the closer role and
has proven he has postseason chops, and you get a

(02:00:11):
five tool, top twenty five forty million dollar player in
right field. So the initial thing, I think people would say,
we got hosed. But you get a young pitcher who's
got game, yep. You get a first basement with potential
which they need a position to feel, and you get
two prospects that could be on a major league roster
pretty quickly. Yeahs, so certainly maybe one both win, but

(02:00:32):
early favored Cubs if all four hit, worth the gig
since you weren't going to sign Kyle Tucker anyway. And
the truth is, I hate to say this, Presley's not
just a guy, but he really is. He's he's movable,
but you can win without him at this stage of

(02:00:53):
his career. Really in the eight Hole's what I'm talking about.
In the eighth INNY, I do, and I get it.
But if they hit, you got a good one. Now,
there's also been the talk of bom In Castellanos for
Philly for Tucker, and I don't know if they'd want

(02:01:13):
Presley as well. If I give you both for both
favorite Phillies, Phillies get the best end of that deal.
And I'd need a prospect or two from Philadelphia, a
top five prospect.

Speaker 5 (02:01:25):
You want to give me for that? You want to
give me a bomb.

Speaker 4 (02:01:29):
Castellanos, As you answered, now you answer big time players
that are both capable at third base, since you're plan
on losing Bregman. If you do, you get a right
fielder who's got pop in his bat and swagger with
attitude and now postseason experience for both and then go
get me a top prospect in their organization. That now,

(02:01:49):
now I can live with it because I get two.
And when I say dom Bohm was pretty dominant most
of the year at the plate. We know what Castellano's
got streaky at times, but really a guy you like,
kind of like on your roster. But I need a prospect.
It can't be two for two. I got to go
two for three or two for four. But that's put
it that way. That's more enticing to me on the
front end than the other one. Don't you agree on

(02:02:13):
the front end. But the fact that the Cubs and
what he was talking about the prospects agree with him.
I would like that, Philly, if that came to fruition, yep,
I would. I would like you to have to. Now
if you tell me Tucker for Bohme and Castellanos and
your third prospect, maybe then in your eighth prospect.

Speaker 5 (02:02:29):
Now I'm in. I'm in the ballpark, yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:02:32):
Because I got somebody who can help me now and
and and a young prospect that may be able to
come in by the time the season is up. And
at least impact or within a year. Yeah, I got
a uh pretty up watching the clock start.

Speaker 5 (02:02:43):
That's all good.

Speaker 6 (02:02:44):
I got a pretty up to date report on the
Kyle Talker excuse me, Kyle Tucker situation. This is about
uh well about fifteen minutes old. So we'll discuss it next.
What's going on with the Cubs, Yankees, Phillies and the Astros.

Speaker 5 (02:02:56):
That's next.

Speaker 18 (02:02:58):
KB He's used to k TV each to Houston, an
I heart radio station.

Speaker 2 (02:03:04):
As a Rockets Sportscox seven your home for your home team, Salisbury, Old.

Speaker 4 (02:03:18):
Berrysbury, Houston. Okay, let's do this.

Speaker 1 (02:03:21):
Sewn Salisbury, there.

Speaker 14 (02:03:25):
To usc truths.

Speaker 23 (02:03:25):
Longtime friend shown Salisbury.

Speaker 3 (02:03:27):
Bryan Lima, go Lobos. This is the Sewan Salisbury Show.

Speaker 6 (02:03:35):
Seven thirty tip off six thirty is when the launch
batt will start right here on seven one of your
home for Rockets basketball. I'm gonna talk about Kyle Tucker
this segment. Texans Dolphins play each other NRG Stadium on Sunday.
All right, you're ready for the latest update in regards
to Kyle Tucker. Bruce Levine, baseball analysts for six seventy

(02:03:59):
The score dot Com reporting this morning the Cubs are
now circling back on a deal that would send Paradis
and Cam Smith to Houston for Kyle Tucker. If completed,
it would leave the Yankees without left handed bat. That's
where Cody Bellinger would enter to slot in for Juan Soto.
The Cubs Yankees are both still in on Kyle Tucker,
but are also talking to each other. Oh then I

(02:04:22):
also saw let me see if I can find it
real quick. Jose de jasus or Tease. He is a
sports columnist. He's usually on the beat when it comes
to Major League Baseball news. He said, according to al
folks that I trust it would be a surprise if
the Astros don't trade Kyle Tucker within forty eight hours.

(02:04:46):
The Cubs appear to be the favorites until a deal
is done. Keep an eye on the Yankees, but the
Cubs are better position. So looks like Sean, the Cubs
are the heavy favorites to trade for Kyle. I'll Tucker,
do you?

Speaker 4 (02:05:01):
And if you're the Yankees though, the reason why I
never count them out Right field's open, and they need
a and they need some good optics other than Max Freed,
and they're always capable with their money of jumping in
late and offering you something that moves the needle. So
I wouldn't count it done. I wouldn't count the Yankees out.
But it appears right now that the Cubs in turn

(02:05:23):
four lead. Can they hold off down the on the
final turn and on the backstretch, I mean, on the
on the home stretch.

Speaker 6 (02:05:31):
Did you see his introductory press conference wan Soto's with
the Mets. I did, and how he basically said that
him and his teammates from the Yankees haven't talked since
they got eliminated from the World Series.

Speaker 5 (02:05:42):
I did.

Speaker 4 (02:05:42):
I don't think that's abnormal, though now I'm shocked that
somebody hasn't called him and say congratulations, yeah, or we're
gonna miss you. But dude, I've been to plenty of
off seasons, and the last people you talk about the
first two weeks seasons over the first three weeks, unless
you're going to hunting with him, we're gonna hang out
with them, play golf with him, you know, because when
you leave, people scatter and go home and do their thing.

(02:06:05):
I don't know a lot of guys that, let's say
your best, but you know what I'm saying, you hang
around them all the time and you live near each other,
stay in the same neighborhood. I don't know a lot
of guys in the seasons over to spend a whole
lot of time talking to their buddies on the team.
Now there has a situation like the guy walking off
the field last night. You may be in a group
text where you'd say, what is this clown? We don't
want them on our team, right, I get that, But

(02:06:26):
I don't think it's abnormal that just when the off
season hits you take a month off, because in truth,
you and I are great friends, spend a lot of
time together on here, love being around. But if it's
a four day weekend, there's times on a four day
weekend you're relaxing at home, we don't talk.

Speaker 5 (02:06:43):
So I mean we get a text preparing for it.

Speaker 4 (02:06:45):
Yet it's just because we were decompressing from everything you
else got to go in your life, so that that
doesn't that part of it's not damn this is that's
not odd at all. Matter of fact, can go in
my life. And I like to think that I good
teammate and close with a ton of them my friend teammates.
But you know what, when the season ended, whether it
was in January in the playoffs, I wouldn't the next

(02:07:07):
time I'd talked to is if you're making appearances during
super Bowl Week four weeks later. He didn't call them
on the phone, just say hey, dude, what are you
doing on Tuesdays? I was around you more than I
was around my family during the season. You know the
truth is, and don't take this disrespectful. Women are better
at this than men are. Men can go six months
and not talk to their best friend. If he'd gone

(02:07:28):
on vacation and he pick up the phone six months later,
and it's like we were just on the air together yesterday.
If I called, we didn't. Let's say we took two
month vacation and I and we didn't talk the day
we got back, Hey, mad Grade, nothing would we'd be
rolling now.

Speaker 5 (02:07:43):
And I don't mean that. Well, you can't put that.

Speaker 4 (02:07:45):
The truth is they're better at it, and this is
a compliment to them, but it's something I just don't
do my best friends. I may go a month without
saying a damn thing to about the best friend that
I that has been through with me through the crap,
good and everything, and his family all go six weeks
and haven texted him, same with him, pick it up

(02:08:05):
all dude, what.

Speaker 5 (02:08:06):
Are we doing this weekend? Or hey, when are we
playing golf? Nothing changes?

Speaker 8 (02:08:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (02:08:10):
Uh in the in the ladies world, they're besties. If
they haven't had a happy hour twice in a week
or haven't talked to them. I mean they could have
gone on a seven week vacation with their bestie. Two
days later, they're offended that they haven't talked. It's man,

(02:08:31):
are you mad?

Speaker 24 (02:08:32):
No?

Speaker 4 (02:08:33):
And I'm mad. Guys don't ask their buddies. If you do,
you're a you're you're a kind of a bitch. If
your if your button hurt, your buddy hasn't talked to
you a month. The truth of the matter is you're
way too needy. But in the female world, honestly, it's
like my best he hasn't called me, text me yesterday, and.

Speaker 5 (02:08:54):
I don't know if she's okay.

Speaker 4 (02:08:56):
Yeah, she's fine, okay. So innesota world, it's not that
odd not to talk to your homeboys of your teammates
a month later. But the only thing that's odd about
it is I know this, if I hadn't talked to
my buddy, who is a teammate of mine, and even
though I want him, went got that bag. You know
that I'd be the first person at six in the

(02:09:16):
morning to text him and say, hey, by the way, man,
can you vendo me as a joke right as a
teammate and say congratulations, we're gonna miss you. I love you.

Speaker 5 (02:09:24):
I wish you'd have been back here, but man, good
on you. You had got paid.

Speaker 4 (02:09:28):
That's that's a good guy. That's all.

Speaker 5 (02:09:29):
I think.

Speaker 6 (02:09:30):
It's funny. It's funny you talk about your best friends.
So I've got a group text with my three best friends.
You've met Smitty. We piked off with him, yeah, several times.
But since December second, we've had one two, We've had
three conversations and it's like two responses each and that's it.
Smitty's sent a picture on Wednesday. I'm the only one

(02:09:51):
that responded. The other two didn't say it.

Speaker 18 (02:09:53):
Damn.

Speaker 4 (02:09:53):
But a guy in a guy's world, that's normal. In
a girl's world, you'd think the other four on.

Speaker 17 (02:09:58):
The group that life their faith.

Speaker 5 (02:10:00):
Are you mad at me?

Speaker 4 (02:10:01):
Even in your thing you said December second to nounce
to thirteen, that's only eleven days for me.

Speaker 5 (02:10:06):
That's still on them. There's been times there.

Speaker 6 (02:10:08):
Oh no, there's this this group text during the summer,
this bad boy disappears for like.

Speaker 5 (02:10:12):
Seven weeks, eight weeks.

Speaker 4 (02:10:13):
So the pseudo thing, it feels like, we're like, it's
you just went. You were just with them on a
nine month trip, so you just decided to take a
month off to talk to your buddies. That's how guys think,
But I would. The thing that is surprising is that
his teammates have not texted him or called him and said,
I'm really happy for you man.

Speaker 17 (02:10:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:10:31):
Now, I don't know if that's an indictment on him,
you know, or relationships or jealousy, or it's just that
they're butt hurt. The truth of the matters, you'd love
him there. But if he's my outfield made or teammate, man, congratulations,
but we're gonna miss you. At least you're close in town.
We can go out and have dinner. Sorry, you're not
gonna be with us this year. But it's not abnormal
for dudes not to talk. Matter of fact, I've had

(02:10:51):
off seasons of teammates that are friends of mine that
when you left, when the season's over, you next time
I talk to him, you know what. It was off
season program. Damn, it's two and a half months later.
It's like, hey man, that's not no, that's that's not
abnormal in the dude's world. Yeah, two days twenty four
hours is abnormal in the female world. Like you said,
that group text right there, Yeah, they're not looking at
the response for the one who responded.

Speaker 5 (02:11:13):
They're wondering why the other steit? Why didn't you respond?

Speaker 4 (02:11:15):
I don't give a rats after if you responded, I
didn't see it. My golf games more important than your
dumb ass meme. Okay, but I would be the friend
that would have spot on. It's so spot on, you go.
I'd be the guy if you got to pay, you know,
pay rin. I'd be the guys that makes the graduations.
But even if I didn't talk to you for a
month after that, I'd be like, hey man, what my

(02:11:36):
ven will get losts of others one hundred million, Yeah,
joking around, but I'm not offended if you missed the text.

Speaker 6 (02:11:42):
It's so spot on in a guy's group text, y'all
could be talking about real life situations for like a
solid ten minutes. Then nobody's gonna respond, and then next thing.
You know, there's a stupid ass meme. Dude, I got
dumb asked question.

Speaker 4 (02:11:54):
I got a couple college and buddies of mine and
that like Tim Shannon, you know Shannon. We'll go in
there and we'll say, mischief fellas. Let's set up our
off season golf trip to the desert. And there's like
eight of us in it, right, and the ones in
tour in Newport, ones in Florida, tour in Florida, one
couple are in Texas, just all over and somebody will says, I, man,

(02:12:16):
I love you guys man. You know, we don't want
to let friendship. You know, some emotional happen in the country.
Say I want to make sure you guys know or
will lose a friend. I love you, guys man, and
we're not getting together enough. Everybody says the same thing,
let's talk. And then at the end of that, because
nobody likes you after you've done that, the uncomfortable thing,
then the dude will say, hey, man, yeah, but uh,
you know, hey, anybody want to play, you know, say

(02:12:37):
sounds stupid like hey, oh, by the way, the zoids
love me, you know, And all of sudden, guys laugh
and then it becomes a texta we can't share because
everybody's talking all kinds of trash, right, but we got
no guys can shift from emotion to your you're a
you're a prick, to I love you to do your
golf game sucks to I'm talking about that, and it's

(02:13:01):
all it's all good. Yeah, and then sick. Three months
will go by and we'll pick right off from more.
Hey man, I'm sorry I missed the text, but what
do you do it?

Speaker 21 (02:13:09):
Right?

Speaker 6 (02:13:10):
I got buddies that will tell their wives. You can
go through my phone anytime you want. Stay away from
the group text, not to go through my group text. Safe,
stay away from the group text. No that goes on
on group texts Vegas and locker rooms. It's none of
your damn business. Plus it's too gross for it even more,
look at anyway it's dude. But uh what Yeah, no,

(02:13:34):
don't don't know, don't do it? What does your boyfriend
go through your phone?

Speaker 14 (02:13:37):
Or no?

Speaker 4 (02:13:38):
Well, I got, I got, I got, I got two
phones for him. He loves the picture in the phone,
the one I'm staring down at the top of his head.
Eddie's looking up at me. Yeah, no, kid, yourself on

(02:14:00):
her text too. Okay, that right there? Oh man, that hurts.

Speaker 5 (02:14:07):
Y ladies.

Speaker 4 (02:14:08):
I just want you to know, get your bestie. Okay,
your bestie, she's okay. She's gonna be okay if she
didn't call you for two hours. So we just went
on a nine month vacation. Yes, hence why twenty four
hours is okay? She's not mad action, she's fine. She's fine.
I promise he's okay. Seven one, three, two, two, five,

(02:14:30):
seven ninety is the number to join uh Man. Major
League Baseball insider John Hayman. Now he's got a report
about Kyle Tucker. My goodness, what's going on?

Speaker 5 (02:14:38):
That's next?

Speaker 1 (02:14:41):
The Jean Salisbury Show continues.

Speaker 5 (02:14:45):
Are you offended by the song?

Speaker 24 (02:14:46):
No?

Speaker 5 (02:14:47):
Hey, didn't we didn't we like, didn't we cancel a
Christmas song?

Speaker 8 (02:14:51):
What was that?

Speaker 5 (02:14:52):
Christmas said?

Speaker 4 (02:14:52):
I can't go back and count all think about this
over the last what five to eight years, ten years,
whatever it's been in the last five years, in particular,
two things that were two things that we're trying to
they tried to change the shape of the world. Woke
and what else? COVID COVID vaccinations and guess what both
are gone. I guess we're both are headed. Yeah, they're

(02:15:12):
out of here, they're gone, see you good. They tried
to keep Baby It's Cold out. So, yes, that's the
cut of Dean Martin. Right, it wasn't this one Santa,
even though Santa Baby it's like, oh sexy at Christmas time,
it was seductive that song with Dean Martin and whoever
else he's singing it with. Yes it's Baby It's Cold outside. Yeah,

(02:15:33):
but they tried to turn turn it into a this
is room in society.

Speaker 5 (02:15:37):
I forgot about this one. I forgot about the me
too movement. Well there's another one.

Speaker 4 (02:15:40):
That tried to Well, things will be a little bit
different these next few years. You can already see a
change into the guard crazy man. You know it's going
to be biblical, is it?

Speaker 6 (02:15:51):
Yeah, play a Baby It's Cold outside. Next, I believe you.
I think Sean's right.

Speaker 5 (02:15:59):
It's a Dean Markin. Dean Dean Martin, No Frank Loser. Well,
the one that you hear all the time. It's Dean Martin.

Speaker 6 (02:16:08):
Yes, yes, yeah, you're right, you're right. Sorry, the original
was was Frank Closer.

Speaker 5 (02:16:14):
They play the one they always plays, the Dean Martin yeah, yeah,
by Dean Martin, part of the rat Pack rat Pack.
Who is it rat pack?

Speaker 4 (02:16:22):
Rat Yeah, brat Pack is like the brad I mean
it's like the uh the uh Demi Moore Emili group.

Speaker 6 (02:16:33):
That's right, yeah, yeah, new something. Hey, real quick before
we get to Ryan on the phone lines. John Haymon
reported on his uh his live stream, the Chicago Cubs
are now willing to eat some of the Cody Bellinger contract.
They would eat between five and seven million, and that
would get it done.

Speaker 19 (02:16:51):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (02:16:51):
He said that he wouldn't be shocked if a deal
is finished within a few days, therefore speeding up a
possible trade for Kyle Tucker. So cod looks like Cody
Bellinger could be shipped out of town, which would open
up the door for Kyle Tucker. Uh, for them to
help a trade between the Cubs and Astros.

Speaker 5 (02:17:09):
Crazy man, Would you like to have Bellinger here?

Speaker 17 (02:17:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:17:12):
Put him at first base?

Speaker 4 (02:17:13):
Okay, what if I said, heel Bellinger the three and
the six prospect huh for Tucker and Presley.

Speaker 5 (02:17:24):
Yeah, as long as those two prospects are included.

Speaker 4 (02:17:27):
And the and the two, and you're getting an everyday
start pitcher and you're getting a versatile centerfield of right
fielder first base.

Speaker 6 (02:17:32):
Yes, I would do it, as long as you get
those two top prospects or two of the top top prospects, yes.

Speaker 5 (02:17:38):
Who are close to being ready to play.

Speaker 6 (02:17:39):
Yeah, because you can add those to the other prospects
that you got. You got Shay Whitcombe, you got to Zenzo,
you got Bryce Matthews, you got Melton and.

Speaker 4 (02:17:46):
The immediate ad those other two and the immediate future
looks pretty good, it does. Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 6 (02:17:49):
The young guys would be a good little cores agree.
Seven one, three, two, two, five, seven ninety. What's happening?

Speaker 4 (02:17:54):
Ryan to the group chat?

Speaker 14 (02:17:57):
Oh my god?

Speaker 9 (02:17:58):
Which Sean?

Speaker 8 (02:17:59):
But you didn't miss a beat?

Speaker 4 (02:18:00):
That was I was on right myself, laughing.

Speaker 5 (02:18:04):
I have a picture at the top of his head, Jesus.

Speaker 4 (02:18:09):
The triple clip that for the love of God clip that.
That's that's going on my Marconi reel for all to
offend everybody on the planet, which I love to do.
So there you go. Anyway, I achievement of work, all right, man,
Well they give him away to anybody, so I'm in man, thanks,
I'll take it, okay.

Speaker 9 (02:18:25):
So so we're not getting Cody Bellinger Like that's well, y'all,
y'all would love that.

Speaker 4 (02:18:29):
Yeah, I would love.

Speaker 9 (02:18:30):
That, especially if Bregman walks, because I don't think Bregman
and Bellinger I know, you know, they're professionals.

Speaker 5 (02:18:35):
They could probably get over it.

Speaker 9 (02:18:36):
But from what I've been reading, it says Zuki and
Shaw is what we're gonna.

Speaker 4 (02:18:40):
Get from the cob.

Speaker 5 (02:18:41):
Yeah, we've heard that a lot too.

Speaker 9 (02:18:42):
Yeah, so throwing Bellinger if you add Bellinger to that
and then we also give you Pressley or man, if
you get a bunch of prospects due Tucker and Fromber,
I mean, oh, could.

Speaker 4 (02:18:55):
You imagine what that blockbuster would look like? Ryan? You
go Tucker Fromber Presley for four prospects, Bellinger and and Heel.
Can you imagine that? I still think the Astros need more,
don't you? If you're going Fromber in the mix too? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:19:10):
Man, yeah you need Yeah, you need a starting picture.

Speaker 4 (02:19:14):
Agreed plus plus two or three of the top prospects
and Bellinger and and Heal and add another picture. Yeah,
because you're getting three immediate impact players from the Astros. Now,
that's not going to happen, but in a you know,
in a oh my gosh, at least make up some
ground if we're gonna give away Tucker and you're going
to clean house with those guys that are potentially either
uh free agents in the next year or you know,

(02:19:35):
trade and plus you're losing Bregman. You got to fill
some spots. Do you want the Cubs trader? You want
Philadelphia's veterans first? With a couple of prospects, what would
you guys want? Ryan and Brian I would take.

Speaker 9 (02:19:47):
I feel like Phillies players are more here recently, they've
had better runs. I feel like they are better ready
to take on what we're trying to accomplish here and Houston.
I would rather make a deal with the Phillies.

Speaker 4 (02:19:57):
The bone not too worried about Yeah Boom Castellanos or
Heel and Bellinger and you and you get the third
and the fifth prospecting both organizations, you take them, you
take a Phillies.

Speaker 5 (02:20:10):
I think I have a tendency to agree with that one.

Speaker 9 (02:20:14):
Ye oh sorry, yeah, Brian, I want to hear that.

Speaker 5 (02:20:17):
So for for me, excuse me.

Speaker 6 (02:20:19):
So, you know, one of the the potentials, like one
of the hypothetic or potential trades that the Astros could
make or excuse me. Uh, it would be Alec Bohm,
Nick Castianos, and then the number four and number six
prospect or one or the other for the Phillies. I
like that one because Alec Bohm has still got some
years under control, and then Nick Castianis has been in

(02:20:40):
so many big games, so he would probably be uh.

Speaker 4 (02:20:43):
Fit right in with this group. But attitude too, Yeah,
oh yeah, there's that. I know that doesn't sound like much.
But you're looking for clubhouse energy too, are you not?

Speaker 1 (02:20:52):
You are?

Speaker 5 (02:20:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:20:53):
And then I look at it and again those prospects
would be added in there too. I look at the Cubs,
if you get ESOC Parada, and if you could get
I believe Suzuki Shaya Suzuki if he's included, plus their
number one overall prospect, which is uh Smith, Cam Smith.
I like that one too, but I don't think that's

(02:21:13):
enough prospects. I think you got to throw in another one,
no one.

Speaker 4 (02:21:16):
Even though it's the one prospects. You know, if you
said one in ten, that one makes a makes up
for a lot of ground. But I need another one.
And Cam Smith's a great putter too, Yeah, great golfer, crazy,
great golfer. No, but cam Smith you get the number one.
But with the one you just said, Suzuki, you get
you can cover more than likely left field, but you
can cover both corner outfield and an every day player.

Speaker 5 (02:21:35):
Yeah, and then who's who is your other one? Probably
who's the other one was talked about the Phillies?

Speaker 4 (02:21:39):
No, but what was the other everyday player in Chicago's Oh,
there you go, and who's been on the trade talk
on a regular basis. And then you get in like
they're one and what seven?

Speaker 11 (02:21:49):
Yeah? Six?

Speaker 5 (02:21:49):
Seven prospects.

Speaker 4 (02:21:50):
I think it's prospects. Well then I'm well, then I'm
in like that. Yeah that then that made Trump the
Philly one. But the everyday player, I still love the
bom And and Castianus potential.

Speaker 5 (02:22:02):
Ryan, We appreciate the call man, appreciate you. Yeah, yeah,
you know, it's it's uh.

Speaker 6 (02:22:09):
I think for me, if you can get everyday players
of a couple of everyday players that are going to
go right into your lineup and keep the Astros as
the favorites in the AO West, that's one thing.

Speaker 5 (02:22:18):
But you have to include prospects from me. I would say,
you have to give me some prospects.

Speaker 4 (02:22:21):
And I think that's that's an you can't make a
trade without top prospects. No, But I also think the
opposite is true. I don't want a trade that just
gives me prospects. Yeah, No, because if I got to
fill the Bregman Presley, and I think the Presley hole
is going to be easier to fill than Bregman and Tucker.
As much as I think there's much respect as that
for Presley, I can't walk away with us without getting

(02:22:44):
prospects that have a chance to be dominant players. Yeah,
and a player or two that when they get off
the bus or the playing in spring training, they're starting.

Speaker 5 (02:22:52):
Yes, I gotta have both.

Speaker 4 (02:22:55):
I'm giving away a top twenty five player and a
guy who's held in regard high regard. Is if not
the first, he ain't the third. Bet he's in the
talk of the three or four best players in his
position in the league. And none of those guys we
talk about Chapman maybe have a better glove. Right, you're
talking about two huge impact players on your franchise. I

(02:23:15):
can't leave those holes empty, even though prospects would be great.
I gotta have both.

Speaker 6 (02:23:19):
Yeah, I have to, There's no doubt about it. Seven
three two point two five seven ninety. Will continue to
talk about the Kyle Tucker trade situation next right here
on Sports Talk seven ninety. Before we get to that,
let me tell you about Men's Taclinicmen's Tea Clinic dot com.

Speaker 5 (02:23:31):
Fellas, how you feeling out there?

Speaker 6 (02:23:33):
Sluggish, got some brain fog, feel like you've hit a
wall or a plateau in the gym.

Speaker 5 (02:23:36):
You just can't get through it.

Speaker 6 (02:23:37):
It's time to find tune your body even more with
my friends over at Men's Tea Clinic. Personally, man, I
got to go back to Like January February of twenty
twenty three, I felt like I was sleepwalking through my day.
My lists at the gym were terrible. Uh, nothing was
getting better. My moods were up and down. I couldn't
really sleep much at night. It was just terrible. I

(02:23:58):
was I was depressed, honestly, went over to Men's Clinic
the spring location, got my levels check. Come to find
out I had low testosterone. I started that total onness
optimization plan that day. Just after two weeks, the brain
fog was completely gone. My lifts got better in the gym,
and I felt better and better, And now I'm coming
up on two years now with Men's Tea Clinic and
it's been phenomenal change my life for the better.

Speaker 5 (02:24:19):
So I could be you, Fellas.

Speaker 6 (02:24:20):
Our testostero levels peaked just before twenty and decline on
average about one percent per year after the age of thirty.
So drop your pride. It's completely normal. It may be
subtle before it's not. So get over to Men's Tea Clinic,
get some blood drawn. It only takes about ten minutes
to get your results back, and it's all gonna be
done right there in house. Shoot meet with your clinic
director and they're gonna get you on a total oneness
optimization plan so you can start feeling it benefits in

(02:24:42):
about a week. They've been in the city for over
ten years. Strong five locations right here in Houston Heights,
parallanm Pasadena, Cyprus and Spring. It's one call away one
eight hundred two four six low T one eight hundred
two four six low T Men's Teaclinic dot Com. Fellas,
get over there, stop waiting around, get yourself back to
one hundred percent. Trust me, I do it every Monday.

(02:25:03):
Men's Tea Clinic dot Com. Tell him that Brian will
Liema sent you. The Shawn Salisbury Show continued to actually
put this on their radar.

Speaker 5 (02:25:16):
What are we doing? What are we doing?

Speaker 4 (02:25:19):
But a song that has yeah bang a holl in it?
That's okay?

Speaker 10 (02:25:23):
What what?

Speaker 5 (02:25:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (02:25:26):
Man, I'm glad some of this stuff's come to an end. Brother, Yeah,
some of the stuff they like it so has no
common sense. If I wish that we could put if Congress,
if you're ever going to do anything smart, put put
a common sense clause into everybody's life, and let's do that.

Speaker 5 (02:25:44):
Let's vote on that.

Speaker 6 (02:25:45):
Yeah, yeah, it'd be great. Greg's common sense kind of
went out the window for a while.

Speaker 5 (02:25:50):
You think some will never have it though, you know that?

Speaker 6 (02:25:54):
Oh yeah, unfortunately stalk to Holly seven seven hinty, good morning,
Good morning guys.

Speaker 9 (02:26:02):
How's it going?

Speaker 26 (02:26:02):
Happy Friday? Just want to do a put by a
two cents hent on the Tucker situation. With all the
talk that's been going on this week. I mean, it's
it's but the Astros is a different year, same player,
I mean, different players, the same situation. They don't pay
these guys once they become stuzz and it's gonna happen again.
You know, a couple of years, we'll have Albers coming

(02:26:23):
up and ds coming up and they won't pay the
m Andel leave and it's just a cycle that the
Astros and Crane have been in. And that's fine. I'm
okay with trading Tucker, but use that money for Pete's
sake that you're gonna say with Tucker and hey, Bregman,
I don't just I don't want to lose both of them.
As my point, and after all the talk of this
week in the national media and the local media, at

(02:26:43):
this point, don't you have to trade Tucker? I mean,
what is it if you don't? If things fall apart.
I mean, I know he's a professional and he'll come
to spring training if he's still wearing an Astro's uniform
and give one hundred and ten percent. But between the
arbitration cases and I think they really missed him over
with his injury last year, and now why would he
want to play fresh?

Speaker 4 (02:27:04):
I think, Holly, thank you the last point, when all
of it's very well spoken and a great point, and
the frustration you can hear it Mountain callers voices right,
and everybody's the truth of the matter is, Gosh, don't
let me lose my train of thought at the end there.
What was her last point? Why would Kyle tell Kyle

(02:27:25):
thank you? I'm going to say this, and I'm not
I have no extra insight on this. But when you
hear somebody what was it Aggie Doug talking about he.

Speaker 6 (02:27:37):
Yeah, he said his mom had talked about that, that
he won never wanted to even stay here.

Speaker 4 (02:27:42):
Okay, So with that, if both teams offered let's say
two teams, do the Astros offered him an extension, and
then Boston or Tampa they offered him all three offered
forty a year or seven.

Speaker 5 (02:28:00):
I just show I'm just throwing it out there.

Speaker 4 (02:28:02):
I don't think he'd take the Astros.

Speaker 5 (02:28:04):
I don't think he would either. I think he'd still leave, Yeah,
don't you, Yes, I do.

Speaker 4 (02:28:09):
I think I'm talking about if every single dime and
contract length was the same.

Speaker 6 (02:28:13):
I think there's a couple of things that come into
factor here. I think the arbitration a couple of years
ago still probably and why wouldn't it. I think now
with all of these rumors and reports and the trade talks,
I think that's gonna sit with him as well. And
if he doesn't get traded, the things that I do
know about Kyle Tucker's he will show up.

Speaker 4 (02:28:34):
To camp and he'll play hard, play hard, play good.
He will play well, Yes he will, because he's in
the last year and he's a pro.

Speaker 5 (02:28:40):
He's a pro.

Speaker 6 (02:28:41):
He will handle his business. But he's not gonna forget
about it. It's gonna stay with him. I think the
arbitration thing would really piss me off. To be honest
with YOUNI probably stay with me for a while. Disrespectful
in my opinion. I think they they they failed when
it came to that.

Speaker 4 (02:28:55):
Great players, great business people, people who are successful that
I've been around, yeah, is they don't let the grudge
affect them, but they file it away.

Speaker 5 (02:29:07):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:29:08):
And whether you call that keeping score, there are some
who file it away and they get out there and
it affects their performance because their emotions can't handle trade talk.
Remember Jay Color when they talked about trading for a quarterback.
I think it was Matt Castle at the time for
Josh McDaniel, and then he wanted out and they trade Color.
Remember he was offended by how could you talk about
a trade? Because it's just sports People talk about trades,

(02:29:31):
get offended by it and I love color, don't misunderstand.
But that talk that moved it finally got him moved
to Chicago. So the good ones file it away, use
it for them, not against them. A lot of grudge holders,
they think the grudge or the pissed off they are
at thet an organization, at somebody else. Did You're suffering
far more than the person. You're pissed at it. You'll

(02:29:52):
get over it. The good ones file it away, use
it the right way. They don't forget, but they keep
on trudging along and and their thing that feels like
a Kyle Tucker thing. Me, I would think. I think
that's how I would think. Yeah, I'm not mad at
you because it's business, but you can't be mad at
me when I decide I want to go somewhere else
because it's business.

Speaker 8 (02:30:12):
Right.

Speaker 4 (02:30:14):
The baseball same size, the ounces in your bat, No
matter where you go play usually the same size. Dimensions
may change, but based in the ninety feet don't change.

Speaker 8 (02:30:24):
No.

Speaker 4 (02:30:24):
So while my emotion I love all my guys. If
I and it's not just like you tell a recruit,
it's not just if I love you, you got to
love me too. If I love you, If it's one way.
If it's one and a half way street, I'm going
full and you're going half. I'm not mad at you,
I get it. But don't you dare be mad at
me when I make a decision that you don't like.

Speaker 6 (02:30:44):
Right, Walt's business at the end of the day, that's
exactly right. And you know what we staying on business? Yes,
triple what we staying on He's taking he's taking a
phone call.

Speaker 4 (02:30:53):
But he's only one he's only one call away. He's
only one man, but he's only one call away. I'll
be there to save the day. Yeah, you know what, Superman.

Speaker 5 (02:31:10):
Yeah, hey, guys, what we had.

Speaker 17 (02:31:14):
We wanted me to tell you, guys what you want
to thank us for playing? Maybe it's cold outside, okay?

Speaker 5 (02:31:19):
And who is that you say?

Speaker 17 (02:31:20):
Bonnie Joe?

Speaker 5 (02:31:20):
Bonnie Joe, I hope you're doing well.

Speaker 17 (02:31:23):
She wanted to come on, but she's heading into an appointment.

Speaker 4 (02:31:25):
And we just got a card, guys, and I meant
to re I'll read it to you. Bonnie Joe sid
and hurt her husband us a nice card and her Hell,
we hope she's great, but send us a nice Christmas
card and she owes us no thanks.

Speaker 5 (02:31:37):
She is as kind and as good a person as
there is.

Speaker 4 (02:31:39):
So we love you and thank you, and I hope
your Christmas holiday is healthy and happy and peaceful.

Speaker 6 (02:31:43):
Bonnie Joe actually invited me to her Thanksgiving in case
I didn't have anybody to share it with, So thank
you for that's fantastic.

Speaker 5 (02:31:49):
She wanted me to make sure you got to go.

Speaker 4 (02:31:50):
Was a card and addressed to me the one guys,
and because don't need to address it the three of us,
and had a note for all of us.

Speaker 6 (02:31:57):
So thank good good stuff right there, Bonnie Joe, hopeful
for your health is getting better and better.

Speaker 4 (02:32:01):
Tonight's somebody who listens to what your family's not around.
You're single. When I say so you just live alone
with your dogs. That that's nice that she does. Yeah,
there's no doubt, man, you always have open doors for
good people. Tension to detail, tension to detail. All right,
we got two callers we'll get for the last segment. Well,
so it's Aggie, Dug and Ben.

Speaker 5 (02:32:20):
Guys.

Speaker 6 (02:32:20):
Don't go anywhere. We'll get to you guys. And also
we got to make a couple of picks. We got
a college football game. Army Navy, you got Texans and dolphins.
We'll talk about all that next right here on Sports
Talk seven ninety. Before we get to that, let me
tell you about the new dips from Daisy Sour Cream.
Daisy Sara Cream launched French onion and ranch sour cream dips.
I love these dips, and these new dips from Daisy
Sara Cream are a game changer that day is just

(02:32:43):
as good as if they were homemade. They're made with
Daisy Soara kaream and real herbs and spices. The new
dips from Daisy Sour Cream are made with ingredients you
can find in your kitchen nothing more so if you
haven't added them to your game day spread, excuse me,
or your holiday party, which is right around the corner.
Whether you're gonna do it this weekend, you're gonna wait
for the get closer to Christmas. You need to give

(02:33:04):
these new French onion and ranch tips from Daisy Sower
Cream a try. Pair them with your favorite chips, wings,
vegetables or other foods. Your guests are gonna love them.
You're gonna love them especially when you're just hanging out
chilling by the fire watching some football, or you got
friends and family over for a holiday party. Head over
to your local grocery store. Like I said earlier in
the show, I went to h GB a couple of
days ago. Boom, there they were. So I picked up

(02:33:25):
a couple of the French onion ranch tips. I had
them with some wings the other night fantastic. You're not
gonna go wrong with Daisy dips from Daisy Sower Creams.

Speaker 3 (02:33:36):
Tied to the team, The Sean Salisbury Show continues, h
let go.

Speaker 4 (02:33:43):
Oh my baby bye.

Speaker 5 (02:33:46):
Oh yeah, I got I can get it. I can
crowbar that bad boy in there and anyway I want
a when I can near.

Speaker 4 (02:33:52):
Mind who's hotter, George Michael or Boy George. I just
wanted to use to George Michael, George Michael boyd. George
is a little different, bro. He just hits different. He
just hits different. Yeah, well what song does he sing?

Speaker 11 (02:34:04):
That?

Speaker 4 (02:34:04):
So fair?

Speaker 5 (02:34:05):
He got some good cuts, like boy George, I do.

Speaker 20 (02:34:09):
I like it.

Speaker 4 (02:34:09):
I'm telling you, I like the cuts, not bad, not
bad for boy George. You got one, I mean there's
there's one that really You've got a lot of cuts.

Speaker 5 (02:34:19):
God, he is interesting.

Speaker 19 (02:34:20):
Man.

Speaker 5 (02:34:21):
Uh oh the Chameleon song, coming Come Up, Come Up,
Come Yeah, what else.

Speaker 4 (02:34:28):
A couple of other cuts come, come, come, really coming.
That's the cut right coming.

Speaker 5 (02:34:42):
But it really gives me in my feels though. I
just get going.

Speaker 4 (02:34:45):
Man, it gives me. It's like Sidney Lauper, which he
kid breaks into a cut. I'm like, all right, I'm
feeling her, and I said, I'm feeling it freedom.

Speaker 5 (02:34:53):
Which one's that?

Speaker 4 (02:34:54):
No, that ain't it.

Speaker 17 (02:34:57):
No, it's not it.

Speaker 6 (02:34:58):
No, I don't think I can play that on her.
Oh well we'll figure that out. Let's suckers. Sucks dude, Man,
what's up? I got about a minute forty buddy.

Speaker 23 (02:35:10):
Hey, guys, listening all the conversation today and all the
you know, uproar trading Tucker, it's like everybody's like, oh,
you know, we didn't sign George because of this, and
we need to sign Karrey and then kray On and
on and on and on and on. Well, I mean,
neither one of those deals are going to work out
for those teams, right, Like karay was decent last year,
but he was hurt like half the season. I don't

(02:35:31):
anybody that thought Tucker was going to stay in the
first place. I mean, it was always it always felt
like he was going to leave even before the arbitration piece.
So I don't quite understand. And do you not think
he's licking his chops for eight hundred million dollars after
the Sodo deal? I mean like he plays a goal
glove right field. Sodo plays a mediocre right field, so
it will never leave the league and home runs or

(02:35:53):
average or win a Silver Slugger. And he got seven
hundred and what sixty five million dollars? You don't think
Tucker's looking at that? So why wouldn't you just get
him loose? That's worse we've been trade for him.

Speaker 6 (02:36:05):
No, Ben, we've been saying, I appreciate the call. We've
been saying, Look, go get what you can right now
for him. Don't wait because you're not signing him, you're
not even coming close to signing him.

Speaker 5 (02:36:13):
Go get what you can not gonna have.

Speaker 4 (02:36:14):
That's why I did remember when it first started, like
five days ago, the Tucker trade talk, when the winter
meeting started, and what was the first saying, Oh, they're
just talking about it. And we said, when they're talking
this much about it and adding to the banter, Yep,
this is real and it's real. Kyle Tucker is not
going to be a Houston Astro. It's done, yep, just

(02:36:36):
a matter of where. Yeah, and the chances of Alex
brag You guys, tell me in a negotiation you moving
fifty million between where they were and where you were bred.

Speaker 5 (02:36:45):
Yes, for Bregman, it's not happening, so right. So really,
if you were a futures better you would bet on
both being gone.

Speaker 4 (02:36:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:36:52):
Now if they don't, you.

Speaker 4 (02:36:54):
Hope we're wrong.

Speaker 5 (02:36:55):
I do hope we're wrong. I don't believe it though.
I think both are gone. Yeah, I think so too.

Speaker 4 (02:37:00):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (02:37:01):
Yeah, we got a thirty second, yeah, Doug, thirty seconds
for you.

Speaker 24 (02:37:05):
Hey, fellas, just remember that the Astros are a mid
market team without a huge TV contract. That's where a
lot of this money has come up front for a
lot of free agents, especially with the Coats and the
Yankees and the Bets. You gonna remember that they have
TV contracts, So it's not just a situation that the
owners rich, but also it's situation.

Speaker 14 (02:37:24):
Of contracts so the fans. I mean, it's it was great.
It was a hell of a run that we had
from fifteen in xtil. Now, but you gotta remember, just
like in the Super Bowl, all those friends players. They
want their money now, So everybody that's good, you're gonna
have to pay him. And I'm gonna have to be
able to keep a couple of step outs today, hopefully
will keep the ard on and that's gonna probably be

(02:37:45):
the two pillars for a while.

Speaker 5 (02:37:46):
Yeah, appreciate it. Point have a great weekend, all right.
Dolphins Texans minus three, Texans favored.

Speaker 4 (02:37:51):
Dolphins Texans minus three, Texans favored by three.

Speaker 5 (02:37:54):
Give me the Dolphins.

Speaker 6 (02:37:55):
I'm taking the Dolphins as well. All right, Army Navy,
Army favored by six and a half.

Speaker 4 (02:38:00):
Go Army beat Navy. It wouldn't matter if they faved
by thirty. I think it's gonna be a field goal game.
But I think Army wins.

Speaker 5 (02:38:05):
I think Army is too physical.

Speaker 4 (02:38:06):
Yep, great quarterback too.

Speaker 5 (02:38:07):
Gonna be a hell of a game, man, I'm excited
to watch that tomorrow afternoon.

Speaker 6 (02:38:11):
All right, tripley, you got Dolphins or Texans. He's talking
a good Dolphins or Texans.

Speaker 17 (02:38:18):
Texans?

Speaker 4 (02:38:19):
All right, Colts upset Denver, which makes the next two
weeks even more interesting.

Speaker 5 (02:38:24):
Don't do that. I want that.

Speaker 8 (02:38:26):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (02:38:27):
I love it.

Speaker 6 (02:38:28):
You damn right, Yeah, give it to us all right,
that is Sean Salbery as well Man, that is Sean Salisbury.
Triple Emmanuel Elmore is our producer, Ian Brian Lima.

Speaker 5 (02:38:37):
Thank you for listening.
