wh This game is a god.

Speaker 3 (01:28):

Here's so.
Speaker 6 (01:35):
Koreas and s driving a cheap plut field for Korea.
Speaker 8 (01:43):
Ust been going back.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
And up goes long Gone. A three run home run.
Speaker 6 (01:48):
Puts the Astros on top five to three.
Speaker 8 (01:51):
Polos Torre with his third.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Home run of the series. Oh oh, oh my god,
I mean are we feeling good this morning?
Speaker 10 (02:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:05):
I'm so glad we got Eugenio Suar. Oh you met? No,
I'm kidding.
Speaker 11 (02:08):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
The only reason I said that he's on TV right now.
The competition got better, got heated up. Dand Brown take
a bow. Now he won't he won't he'll give credit
to the scouting staff and the way they did take
a bow. I'm telling you, room grind, make no mistake
about it. There you go, and all of it's true.
I had a guy send me a message last night,
(02:30):
says and he said, I hated Dana Brown. I wanted
him out. He did just and I have no idea.
I think it comes. And the only reason you would
dislike it is because their injury report. But it's not
his fault that you're on. Alpharez is still out. The
man's not a doctor, right, But I get the frustration
with injury reports, right, I get it. But that's why
(02:50):
you don't if you don't like him, that's why. But
he's not a doctor. He comes on here trying to
build a team. Since he's been here, haven't you seen
decision after decision comes to person work. This was a
they stole from the Minnesota Twins yesterday. Dude, they put
him on the table I'm talking about. It was a
frigging boat race, curb stomp. Are you kidding me? You
(03:12):
might as well you might as well just send him
for free. They pretty much did. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
You might as well just said you know what, well,
not only will we give him to you, we'll take
care of some money and we're not even really want
that much in return, if any sure, go ahead and
have it. Twenty six year old picture. Yeah, let's go
with it. And a guy that three years ago wanted
thirty plus million for ten years and you got him
(03:33):
for a smidge Does that make sense?
Speaker 5 (03:36):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (03:37):
I mean smidge of the price.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Somewhat Doing the math last night, I said, you pretty
much got him for three years twenty five per right?
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Care that right? The vesting options will obviously see what
happens with that, but just on the just on the
the pure metrics analytics numbers of it, right, yea, dude,
I'm just Dana Brown. Did he did? Good Man? And
I know it would have been great to pull off
one of those pitchers, It really would it would have been.
(04:04):
That would have been I don't even know how if
that would have happened. We walk in here, I mean,
we're giddy now and we should be, and then you
get people back. But if that happens, you're like, this
is this is impressive? Well, it would have been like
getting Stroud and their equivalent. And I'm not saying this,
but it would have been like getting Stroud and and
(04:25):
will Anderson in the same draft, a couple of picks apart. Yeah,
to go get a guy who's a World Series here
now hopefully his best baseball is not behind him and
we'll see the Carrea that you want to see. And
if you were to get and that's don't I mean,
Baltimore Urius is a good player. Why am I losing
my mind? Who else?
Speaker 8 (04:46):
We get?
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Sanchez? Sanchez? Right? Who who's a look at some of
those highlights. I'm telling you what, he's a player. He
this is an underrated get dude, and you get from
the left side, and you now the question is you
move in Jose al to it back to saying full time,
that's what it sounds like. We can discuss it, but
I just you know what, it's one of those things
you congratulate and say, man, we're excited. It's like teams
(05:10):
do in the NFL draft, right or the draft. But
you still got to go back there. I mean, they're
back to business tonight. You got to go win and
hope it all pays off. And but you can now
you can't sit back and say, well, they didn't get
any good players. They got three people who are gonna
start for them easily.
Speaker 12 (05:25):
Thanks.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Even when you get injured, guys back the right. So
this is and are you walking out here, think about
what you what's the you gave up? I mean, listen,
I know that you went at this trade deadline with
some gusto and you cease to exist on Dylan sees
okay for now, but right, but the truth is now,
(05:48):
I think good on Ryan Gusta that he didn't have
to be a valuable trade combout, you know, a peace
and he did. Listen, he did some really good thanks here, dude,
he really did so bumber to see him go. But
think about what they did. They won every step of
the way from Baltimore, from Miami, from from Minnesota. They
(06:08):
won every step away. And guess who's still in the
in the farms, in the system. All the guys that
you didn't think would be Yeah, I mean there were
one or two of me. He said, well, there's a
chance if you're gonna go get the big the big
dog got to give this, which tells me that I'll
bet you that Dana Brown had to resist a little
bit of asking them, asking more, and you him want
(06:28):
it you know what I'm saying. I would imagine they're
committing maybe with Ce's or somebody else paid Merrill another
one that you thought, okay, right, any of the guys
that you were going after that maybe there was one
extra body they wanted. Maybe that extra body was a
guy that Dana didn't want to part with and they
couldn't pull the I'm just speculating, right, because some of
those guys didn't move, and everybody speculated that they were moving,
(06:50):
like Dylan Cease, right, So I just wonder if he was.
You know what, we're gonna hold back. We're gonna hold
back from this, and we got we got done. I
can't mortgage the future because remember he's a one eye
to the present, one eye of the future guy. And
I thought he did a fantastic job because he got
three impactful players he he did and one who's got
(07:14):
history here who you hope and you it all position you.
So it's like, if you're an NFL draft, you got
need and value both. Look at the value you got
with Korea. If he's eighty five percent of Carlos Korea.
Sanchez can play, dude, he can flat ass play. And
Eurius is an underrated bat with a gold glove in
his pocket. I don't know do you pronounce it urius
(07:35):
or eureus? I pray say ureus, I say so do
I so whatever? You get the tomato tomato right? And yes,
would have been nice. But there was a lot of movement,
pretty exciting stuff. But with guys moving, and if you
notice teams that think they've got a chance win, got
some bodies. Man Red Sox getting Dustin May, who could
end up being a great get if he's healthy. You know,
(07:58):
the Dodgers are moving, you know, they go and they
needed bullpen help. Got it. Padres, frigging Padres loaded up.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Dude. The AJ Preller was another guy at penom He
absolutely let him hang yesterday.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
He sure did. Then they're still dangling today after what
he did. And to keep some of the guys. And
you went out and got a guy. Think about this,
they have a closer, right you talk about the Padres? Yes, yeah,
it wos. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 13 (08:24):
He did.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
What do you go do? Go out? Go out? A
guy that throws over one hundred miles an hour regularly, Well, yeah,
lives on one hundred two. He throws ninety ninety's having
an off night velo wise, and then you keep he
saw in ninety seven, what's up with them the night? Right?
So that team went out and got themselves some help.
Didn't They get Nestra Cortes too. They got a nasty
nest they did. I mean they loaded up. Man, They're
(08:47):
like Dodgers, with your injuries and stuff, We're coming to
get you. I thought it was an impressive The trade
deadline was fun to fun to keep an eye on yesterday.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
That's the thing too. It's like both teams in the
NL Central, the Brewers and the Cubs. I mean, as
happy as we are here today, imagine what sports radio
is up there where they're like, are we going for
this thing? Like, because yeah, I understand, you know, we're
going for the division. That's all fine and good. But
the team's on both coasts, the one up there in
the Northeast and then the one down there in southern California.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
They're they're going all in, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Like if you're their fans, you're kind of looking at
their organization and being like, we're doing here.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Yeah, the Padres fans are probably okay.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
I would say the Mighty Double X is probably getting
some positive calls today. Yes, And it wasn't just there
we didn't they got with Larianto. They also had Overhearn.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
Yeah, they decided they'd get you some pitching and keep
their stuff and go get you some more help in
the batting order. I mean, it is one thing you
can't accuse, like you said a j preler of not doing,
sitting back on his hands, saying, eh, it's okay, we'll
concede this. No, they quite the contrary, and good on them.
But I was so impressed with Dana Brown's I mean,
(10:04):
you know, you get going Sae man, wonder are we
going to move on something? He said, We're gonna make
the team better. Whatever the deal is, it makes a
team better. And he didn't mortgage his future and he
made the team better at a at a price. Come on,
do you they underpaid for a lot of what they got.
Well quite frankly, the Big Three they had to paid
(10:24):
for all of it. This is buying a house on
short sale. Oh it's one hundred percent with that and
back to three percent interest rate, Yeah, three and a
half percent. It's truth. Yea, thanks to you uge room
right right? And if they yeh that's a fact. And
if they but if if they play it right and
all three of them give us what you expect why
you made the deal, you and you get this health coming.
(10:45):
This is one of those things, you know how we
talk about two ships passing the night, or you're on
your way up when somebody's okay, their work's done, that
they're up in a light tower, whatever it's time a
shift in a work shift. They're coming down. You give
them some DAP on the way up. I'll see you tomorrow.
That's what this is. That while teams maybe that didn't
do anything, or that maybe having to go through their
(11:06):
injury struggles there at the beginning of them that are struggling,
that person on the way down to go get hamstring treatment.
And I know we have injuries, but think about what
they did. Okay, you're gonna lose your third basement pradus
for eight months, see in spring training six to eight months.
We'll just go get Carlos Kray on the cheap. I mean,
who you know wants to be here? Yeah, so it
just go up and the other ones on the way up,
(11:27):
meaning that the astros on the way up, like we're
getting healthy and then bingo, bango bongo. We're getting guys back.
We got great trade value and with guys that are
gonna help, and then we're getting healthy. And by the way,
didn't and in the end another one didn't, which makes
a division tougher. And I know that we did some
(11:47):
great things here, meaning the Astros, but I believe didn't
Merrill Kelly end up and with the Rangers. And that's it, dude,
with that status nothing, huh. There are some people who
wanted him more than they wanted Dylan Cease, more than
they wanted Zach. I'm just telling that there there are
people that wanted him more, and he was a hot commodity.
(12:09):
And the Rangers jumped in and took care of their business.
So all three teams that are in, and the Angels
did as well. Nobody in this division sat back and said,
we have no chance. The only one is the age.
Well that's not I guess that's not fair for me
to say the A's are the age. But they've got
some good young I get that. It's almost there. Like
(12:31):
the outliers, they're not gonna they may sell some, but
they're never ever gonna upgrade. With five players that you
got to pay extra money to at least now.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
I mean they're they're telling you they will once they
get to Vegas. Right, I'm talking about now before chief
organizations always stay bad, cheap organization with new buildings.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
Yeah, you're gonna go to Vegas. Are all of a sudden,
you're gonna give us You're gonna go to Vegas. You're
gonna start selling. You're gonna tell me you're gonna start
paying guys, you know ten year or three hundred million dollars contracts. Well,
we'll see if that shifts a narrative. But the four
top team, they they did stuff and it's gonna make
for a competitive vision. And the Astros did not wait
for somebody else to run by them. They took care
(13:07):
of it too. And this was a successful, successful trade
deadline for them, no doubt about it.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Shows ad Correa, Jesus Sanchez, and as we were talking
about yesterday, Ramona Reuz a utility infielder. So a lot
to be excited about. No, by the way, they still
get back on the field and play tonight. They do,
and it's gonna be a series starting up with the
Red Sox, so we'll talk about that. Get you involved
to Billy Ronnie. See you guys right there. You want
(13:34):
to be like Billy and Ronnie the number seven one
three two one two five seven ninety again seb one
three two one two five seven ninety. And uh, you
mentioned Dana Brown. We'll hear from him as the show
goes along too. And I think something else that had
said about Dana Brown yesterday all that much more. As
we're just getting going here on a Friday edition of
the Sean Salisbury Show Sports Talk seven ninety, I'm a
(13:59):
dihard back to the Sean Salisbury Show. A lot to
be excited about around here, for sure. And oh by
the way too, eight fifteen. This morning, ro Flottle Robert
flores Ca join us. Awesome, so look forward to being
able to catch up with him. But I know that
some of you want to weigh in on the action
from yesterday. Seven one three two one two five seven ninety. Billy,
(14:22):
once you get us going this morning, Billy, good morning, Hey,
good morning.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
The Captain's back.
Speaker 14 (14:28):
Dana Brown just solidified his GM of the Year award,
and the Bandwagon fans and lifelong fans since twenty seventeen
are jumping.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Back on board, Baby, I'll tell you what.
Speaker 14 (14:41):
The social media was just cooking with guys who have
no clue who has played on this team this year.
But they saw that Correa is back and they're back
on board. That's cool. You're all welcome. There's room for
everybody on the bandwagon. I'm glad about it. Hey, Dana
Brown did some really great things yesterday, but it wasn't
just for this year. He did some things for the
(15:03):
future of this team and bringing Correa back in here
his insurance policy in the event that you can't resign
pain you.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Hey, it's a boris thing.
Speaker 14 (15:13):
You never know what's gonna happen unless paint you just
dig his heels in and said, I'm playing in Houston.
He could be going somewhere else. But we got our shortstop,
and we got our third basement of ureas and we
got our third basement coming back next year in parades,
and there's gonna be trouble for debt for a Joah
spot of who do I playing? Where do I play them?
And you've also got tradable commodities. In the event the
paint you that is not going to re sign, paint
(15:35):
you could be traded, just like Tucker was he brings
in more assets. Dana is four steps right ahead of
the rest of us. I'm jacked up, as I'm sure
you can already tell. And I'm excited about what the
rest of this season holds. And I think that we're
gonna be hoisting a trophy. Let's plan the parade now.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
I love it. I love it. More calls, We're we're
cutting promos, man, I love it. He is ready. I
mean I almost felt like mean Gene Okerland right there
and he's like the Holkster. You think that it. I mean,
talk about a shot of energy for a team that
was already in first place. Yeah, it was as if, well,
we're okay, yeah in first place, haven't played your best
(16:15):
baseball all year long as far as you know, hitting
and doing the things you want to do consistently, yet
still sitting in first place. Impressive, And then go out
and get better. That is the goal. And uh they
they fulfilled that goal. And everybody in the division felt
like it got better. I mean as far as the
top teams in the division, and it'll be a hell
of a race. But you had to do it, and
he did it without mortgaging again in the future and
(16:38):
that putting yourself. Man, I hope this works out. These
are three that you won, all three of them when
it's on the surface of the trade. Now you see
how they perform, and hope everybody stays healthy and does
their things. So this team they instantly got better. Now
just get healthy, getting healthy.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
And in point too that Billy brought up there is
for the longest time. I mean, you heard what Dana
Brown said on Sunday about Jordon of getting a seventy
five percent yord On is better than some of the
guys we've got here right now. If he's saying that,
a conversation has been had behind the scenes of you know,
when they're going through you know, all right, hey, what's
our one through nine today? Don't you think that the
manager probably feels the same way that he's probably like.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
You know, I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Trust these guys, but I don't know about putting some
of these guys in this lineup. If I had better options,
I'd certainly be going with some better options. And I mean,
you're you're looking for some continuity in this lineup now,
I mean, you know that Azus Sanchez is gonna be
out in the outfield. No disrespect to Cooper Hummel, thank
you for everything you've done, but you're not gonna be
out there.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
Well, well we may need you for a minute, but
right now they traded for their starting left fielder and
Zach Short that's Short.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
I mean again, some great things, the walk off, the
performance out in La, all of that, but your short
stops back.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Now, well, that's why we play a whole bunch of games,
and that's why you go out and do it, and
sometimes you can come in. You don't think Dubond has
been begging for the last few years to want to
play every day. Yeah, and he still does it. Yet
sometimes he just doesn't get to play every day. And
he's worthy of playing every day. So that's called part
and parcel being a teammate man. And those guys will
fit right in and it's a good thing for them.
(18:15):
And they did one hell of a job and we'll
continue to have opportunity more than likely to help. But
they did a hell of a job. Remember, you have nothing.
You don't have to bow your head to anybody. This
team's in first place without all these changes and without
health and without making these trades. So this isn't one
(18:35):
of those thank goodness for getting rid of this guy,
or thank goodness, this guy's not playing anymore. The only
thing that you quite man, Gusto has been a really
good contributor here and it's a bummer, but you know what,
you got a guy now you can play every day
in left field. You just do. And hey, sus Sanchez
is a and you got from the left side of
the plate. Wasn't that the goal?
Speaker 11 (18:52):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (18:53):
And they got it? So I give a lot of respect.
As I've said always, at times, the other guy have
to do their gig, and this year the other guys
have absolutely had to do their gig and make sure
they make a difference and they have so nothing but respect.
But you've bolstered a roster yesterday you just did well.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
I mean it's not only that, it's respect for Dana
Brown and his acumen in terms of being able to
you know, evaluate personnel and his staff too. And I mean,
I think you saw that play out yesterday and it
came down where would we have liked Dylan sees here
for sure. But I mean Dana even saying as much,
and we'll let you hear from him too, what he
(19:33):
had to say after the deadline came and went, and
I guarantee you that it probably came to a discussion.
They're on the phone with AJ Preller, and I think
that I heard that Arraghetti was asked about and some
of the other top prospects, and I guarantee you it's
one of those. Hey, give us the second, AJ put
them on, you know, on mute. All right, you know, guys,
let's let's think about this for a second. Does this
(19:55):
outweigh what we've got coming back? And they clearly answered, oh,
it doesn't.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Hence why you didn't You didn't crush your future by
trying to get put it this way, it's great to
make put it this way. It was an urgent decision,
but it wasn't a knee jerk. Does that make sense? Yeah?
And you know, even when you got Paddock and Charlie Morton,
Now is Detroit, I mean you're talking about that's probably
the team to beat? A Kirchen said, And I think
(20:23):
we all agree that it's gonna Detroit's the favorite, even
though Toronto's really good. Detroit with the way they pitched
and they upgraded and they got help, but so did
this team. And Dana did it without where you have where,
And I thought we'd come out of this feeling. Man,
that's stung. I do give those guys rejecting. Ryan Gusta
deserves all the respect on the planet for what he's
(20:45):
done here. He really does. He did a great job.
But there was no sting going out. Minimal respect but
not sting. I thought, you're gonna have to give, you're
gonna And then when you start to look at how
they got craze, like what now that that's simply a
franchise in Minnesota that doesn't care this year right honestly,
with the sale of a possible sale, they don't care
(21:08):
about their team. If you're in Minnesota right now, you're
looking to say, what in what do you? What are
you doing? What's happened in Eden Prairie right now?
Speaker 13 (21:15):
Well?
Speaker 3 (21:15):
Plenty yeah, football, Yeah, that's exact football. That's where they're
headed right now. They have shifted completely. Football. Can't wait
till hockey starts, and man, we're pretty good basketball team. Baseball.
It's a bummer because that actually is a really good
baseball town. But they just have completely the ownership that
they just said, screwt, we got no shot. You can
take him and have him. Well, we wouldn't pay to
(21:38):
take him that kind of stuff, right, So I thought
Dana Brown did a damn good job and thumbs up
to him. Two thumbs up to him because of the
way he got what he needed without having that. Oh
my gosh, that doesn't just sting. Dude, you better go
get some antibiotics for that one, because that hurt to
get rid of that player. Nah. It also tells you depthwise,
(22:00):
Javier and Ragetty are really really close. Or Gusto, who
just is coming off a win and a hell of
a pitching performance, is now elsewhere, so that I'll tell
you that. Okay, we didn't get another picture the big starting.
You know, you didn't get a Dylan cease, but I
got News or Merrill or whoever else they would have
been interested in. But we got we got people coming back.
(22:22):
Or you really don't partner with Gusta. You're like, what's
Gustal seven and four?
Speaker 8 (22:26):
Something like that?
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Yeah, serviceable enough that you'd say if you didn't trade him, good,
you kept him. I didn't have him being traded, especially
a starting I did. I I thought that he made
himself tradable. There's no doubt that's the point he put
he created value. Sure with the old nick Saban, well
what kind of value do you bring? He created value
(22:50):
which enabled him to move. Man good on him, because
I think he's got a few. He's pretty damn good.
But this thing wasn't there. He said, we give up Melton.
Oh gosh, Matthews, we're just getting started on wondering what
kind of how good a player? This kid is, no
doubt about it. And also as people start to talk
about their catchers, you kept I'm sure people wanted to
(23:11):
know about yin Er. I'm sure people wondered if kerotine
was available. But you put it this way, if you blink,
you say, okay, then where's gust Oh he got traded?
Other than that, you're looking around saying, you know, if
you woke up this morning checking the roster, did they
give up? Who they trade?
Speaker 11 (23:25):
What?
Speaker 3 (23:25):
You know? All these moves, You're like, what am I
missing something here? One of those guys had to go,
one of those prospects had to go. So the thing
respect for for for Gusto. But in truth, when all
the guys came back, Ryan Gusta was going to actually
end up in the bullpen anyway, and much needed if
you haven't, but create that link. But there's guys coming
back to may end up there too, which can can
(23:47):
replace that if you need to. So you you you,
you did not suffer yesterday. You did not suffer. It's
a bummer to lose a teammate, of course, but you
did not suffer. Matter of You're probably more giddy today
than you were and you're thinking, where did we lose
in the trade stuff? You didn't nowhere. Now it's just
(24:07):
a matter of those three cats staying healthy and performing
because they're going to get a chance to and most
likely often then you come back. And now the toughest
decision you're gonna have to make when people are healthy
is who's sitting today and where's this guy go? That's
what you're gonna have. And man, oh man, after one
hundred plus games, we've been waiting on that all year
because since the opening day this team has not been healthy. No. No,
(24:31):
because even there's no way Jordan felt good to the
first month of the season or he wouldn't have hit
like that. No, So here we are, Man and Dana
Brown talk about a guy who is laser focused on
getting this done right, and he sure as hell did.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
We'll continue to talk about Dana Brown because I feel
like there's a lesson in college football that applies to
Dana Brown and the Astros, and we'll discuss that.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
Rogers see you right there. You want to join them?
Speaker 1 (24:55):

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Men's T Clinic Men's Tclinic dot Com. It is Listen, guys,
there's a lot of different ways to look at this.
Let me just keep it simple. There's five convenient locations
here in Houston. They're on their eleventh year. You don't
stay in business that long if you're not making a difference,
especially in the business that comes to the testosterone business.
There's a million of them. There's a million people out
(25:26):
there trying to do it. Is anybody do it better
than Men's T Clinic? No, because I don't like assembly
line stuff. I mean, I do like it when they're
putting our stuff together, but when it comes to yourself,
the assembly line up, Yep, there you go, just just
another patient, another patient. How about people who are investing
in you? Now you need to invest in yourself. Walk
in the door a great optimization team wellness optimizations the
(25:49):
phrase in twenty twenty five wellness optimization. So how's your
sex life? Is MoMA happy? Are you happy? How's as
your brain fog your energy? You fat and out of shape?
It's not because you don't care, It's because you just
will walk in. It may be testosterone. You're like, well,
I'm confused, what is it? Draw a little blood. By
the end of the day, you'll have your results and
then you can start to normalize your testosterone if that's
(26:12):
the question or the problem. And then you find the
answer to the conflict, and that is Men's T Clinic,
men'st clinic dot com. Work out. Going there, discuss your
insurance situation, and make sure you're investing in yourself like
you do everything else. Think about the things you will
invest in now, think about, well, it'd be nice if
you invest in yourself. And isn't Men's T Clinic a
great place to start? And once you do, you'll wonder
(26:34):
why you didn't do it more often and sooner you
don't have to wait to make a resolution. This is
a life changing moment for you and it's Men's te Clinic.
Don't stay stuck in lower gear, twelve cylinders awaits and
it's under those doors and inside that building a Men's
tea clinic, full body wellness, wellness optimization. Remember that because
by twenty twenty six, don't you want to be hitting
(26:56):
the ground running and you can. It's Men's Tclinic dot com,
Men's t Clinic com.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
The Sean Salisbury Show continued.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
Much respect. But you know back in my asking, you
mean streets to esco learning my my Gustoe, so get
us on did his gig? But is just keep health?
Are all three in the lineup tonight?
Speaker 13 (27:21):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (27:21):
Yeah, they gotta be right?
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Yeah, Well, I think I can't remember if Dana said
it during his post availability or if it was reported
out there that Correa will be on a plane this morning,
which coming over from Minnesota. He'll be in Boston probably
by the end of our show, and then probably not,
you know, too far behind him as Sanchez and probably
have to believe that Irias had already made his way
(27:43):
there even after they made the trade official yesterday morning.
So I mean, you know, he's probably already there with
the team. So yeah, I would expect at least two
of those guys in the lineup tonight. You're gonna have
Carre over at third base. The only thing that's going
to be interesting. Remember how you could even see, going
back to when Korea was that short, that there was
(28:05):
a little bit of the shortstop came out of Alex Bregman,
a little bit from over at third base, cutting in
front of him making a play, right, Like, I wonder
how much of that we're going to see from Korea
where it's like I still got that shortstop.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
Mind A lot of balls? A lot, Yeah, you're gonna
see a lot of I mean, why wouldn't he I mean,
if that's that, I mean, I like the balls in
his hand. That didn't sound right. The balls in his hand.
I like a ball in his hand because he can
rip it. But you know, if he wants to put
more than one ball in his hand, maybe they'll hit
it to him. I would, Yeah, a bunch of them.
I would fully expect that did. Korea will make plenty
(28:39):
of plays over there and the range and and hopefully
the body isn't beat up as much. But you, boy,
have you got yourself some versatility now in the infield.
Buddy with all I mean, Adrius, I mean they really,
they really got some versatility and in truth, Dan, the uh,
just the feeling of the feel good part of Korea
(29:02):
in the clubhouse. Don't think that doesn't matter. Oh I'm
not even just talking about the leaves sh I'm just
talking about that energy that pops in and says, oh man,
it's great to have this looks this looks family reunion,
and those are those always make some people happy.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
I don't know if on baseball road trips, if there's
like a staging area at the hotel, kind of like
the NFL. I mean, it's a smaller sample size for
the NFL. You know, they're only there for less than
twenty four hours, but they've got an area where everybody
can go grab something to eat, training, you know, trainer's room,
all that kind of stuff. So I'm assuming they probably
have something like that. Can you imagine probably this morning,
(29:38):
if say they have breakfast at the hotel that al
two v's they're eating. He walks back in the room
and it's just I'm sure everybody it's one of those
you put your forks down, you get up, go over,
dap them up, say hell yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll come back, buddy,
there is no doubt. And I wonder how long it
took before Springer, al Tuve, and Bregman all texted him,
(30:00):
called him yesterday honestly, you know, thank you once a Hey,
I'll see you in Boston, meaning now to Van Bregman
for different reasons, and then Springer thinking you lucky bastard man.
I wish I could, even though we're in first place,
I wish we've been anyway, I could get back there
with you. I just wonder how quickly that group, you know,
that fearsome, forsome group, uh, interacted with a group Texter
or got a hold of each other after this was
(30:21):
coming out of Pike. It's like the Back of the
Future memes are already starting to come back out. Where
after the Astros traded Kyle Tucker, it was the photo
of the hugs and handshake line where you start see
Korea goes away, Tucker goes away, Springer goes away. And
then somebody posted one this morning of where it was
a black and white kind of you know, uh, he's
shading them out of Korea. Springer and Bregman and somebody
(30:45):
this morning had one where the color comes.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Back into for Korea. Yeah, I just don't need the
photo of them for sitting down in one's arms around
the neck, Yeah, the master Spinner one, I don't need that.
It wasn't it who's whose arms were around the neck
of food player? Don't you see that photo when it's
those four and is it Springer's got his arms around
Oh yeah, yeah, whether they're in the press conference, ya,
(31:09):
I mean, I get it, but you know it's now
I prefer the one you're talking. Yeah. It just although
I love the fact that those guys were so tight,
I've actually just been you know, I'm just being facetious,
but I love the fact that they were so tight
with and I would imagine there was you know, you
never lose that, and it won't just be because a
(31:31):
World Series moments is just every day. It felt like
those guys they just had something unique, man, and that's
hard to find anywhere, let alone. And then have a
chance to get some of that back. Pretty cool, And
it's fitting that he's going to Fenway and Bregman's gonna
be there. It really, it really is pretty fitty.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
You wonder if after the top of the first when
or when Korea is gonna run out the third. You
almost wonder if Bregman's going to hang back for like
a little bit of a second and wait and be like, hey, yeah,
this is my spot, buddy.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
What are you doing?
Speaker 1 (31:59):
No doubt, have a little laugh, because the funny thing is
too is you asked if somebody wore number one, and
it completely does.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
Rogers wears number one.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Right, So what if the Astros did the funniest thing
ever and asked Korea, hey, you want to wear number two?
Speaker 3 (32:13):
Well what I don't think he'd do it just out
of respect, probably right, yeah, anyway, right, yeah, but it'd
be pretty funny. Yah, it'd be pretty five. Hey, Rogers,
you want to go to a nice steak dinner? Maybe
many of them? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you're you know what,
come back your second time and play undered like Rogers
is playing under a different number in Green Bay, I
mean in Pittsburgh. Well and Koreas was number four. Yeah,
(32:34):
just just you know, so just come back and do
it again. Let me ask you this real quick before
we go to break and you can think about it.
What's your perfect lineup now? Batting order? Real quick? Well,
assume it? Okay, Paania Myers and yord On are healthy.
Oh yeah, okay, so let's say they're healthy. What's your
lineup leading off Painia Pania? Yeah, al two and a
(32:54):
two hole for right now? Yeah, yord On into three
hole three. If you putting Kraya four, you're putting Christian Walker, Okay,
Kara in the four hole. That's why I was thinking
if Korea four, five or six that three cry and four,
probably Walker or Yiner in the five. Uh, I'd go
(33:15):
for right now the way Walker swinging a bat though, Okay,
is it five, six or do you have anybody you have?
I'll go Walker five, I'll go Yiner six. Okay, then
it's seven is Sanchez Sanchez? Eight Jake Myers and nine
Cam Smith. They went from who's on first to pretty loaded?
Speaker 1 (33:39):
That that lineup polls you think the FCC way of
seeing it, that lineup polls just saying more than a bicycle.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
Yeah, pretty uh Now you're we went from what the
hell is going on? To uh, pretty good, pretty freaking good.
Where it's one through nine. It's just like, hey, where's
where's the hole in that exhaustion for pitching staffs, and
that's what the Astros feasted on years and there keep winning.
Is that you get to number seven or eight most
of the time you're like, okay, just be smart, don't
(34:08):
walk these guys. We're gonna get them out. They haven't
had that in years. No, and now it's like the
nine hole guy. Remember has hit in the leadoff spot
this year for this team. Yep. And I assure you
three years from now, guess who won't be hitting in
the nine hole? Camp Smith, right, he'll be hitting soon. Yeah,
you're gonna be moving him up on the front end
of that lineup. So what a bonus to have. And
(34:30):
Jake myerso, by the way, is hitting three plus right
around there and plays your goal glove centerfield. Now now
look and well Dubon, yeah, we'll get him in. Oh yeah,
we'll get you into coming off the bench. And Taylor
and Chasmo, yeah, I forget him. So they've they've in
two weeks. This thing could look two and a half weeks.
(34:52):
This thing could look visibly by the time you get
to September, we could very well have that lineup we
are talking about right now, which is formidable and as
deep as any If they're all healthy. There you go,
that's pretty strong man. That's pretty strong. I'm with you,
brother John and Needville see you right there in John Inville. Yeah,
(35:14):
just a second, how would he? How would he say that?
How would how would it? Is a tremendous man, he
really is. He's fantastic.
Speaker 8 (35:20):
So is Roger.
Speaker 3 (35:20):
You know, both men they're great. You you want to
join him? Seven one three at two one two five
seven nine. It was a John does a great job
a country with a k and boys.
Speaker 15 (35:31):
Yeah, great, great roofing company. That's tremendous. We even had
him out here at Pennsylvania Avenue. Yeah, they're they're fantastic.
They even helped us out, you know with the with
the rose garden. It's it's looking great. It's looking tremendous.
You know, there's never been some.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
Some some would say, you know, it's it's it's the
best the rose guns ever looked under a presidency. I
do you see the new flag out in front. It's
the best it's ever looked. It's a wonderful flag. It's fantastic.
The pudding green right there, it's it's it's looking right.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
John.
Speaker 8 (36:00):
Can you get that?
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Yeah, my guy, Johnny can can country boys get to
West Palm Beach and my logo.
Speaker 15 (36:07):
You know, there's gonna have to be somewhere that forty
seven is gonna have to go to afterwards.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
You know, it's just the way it goes. I can't
stay here forever as much as much as I want to.
But it's tremendous, it really is. It really is best
go off course on the planet.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
So yeah, we'll get to you guys, and you want
to join them right there, idiot, Hey, and I love it. Hey,
you know what, Look I've been you want to know.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
What I trust me. I've been called worse to it
and I embrace it. Brother, I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
It's it's every once in a while you've got to
wade into the waters just to know that you're living.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
And that's what I try to do.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
Seven one three two one two five seven ninety. It
is a Shawn Salisbury show, Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
All right, let's talk about getting your butt into a
vehicle the right way. Okay, listen. On a recent podcast,
it's a well respected business leader said the best companies
are ones that solve problems in the market. Well, consider
this for a second, new vehicle tre transaction prices hover
around get a load of this forty eight thousand dollars
on the average they're going for today forty eight grand. Nah,
(37:09):
well let's fix that now. That's double where they were
in twenty ten. In fifteen years, it's doubled, and that
is way outpacing wage increases. Affordability is a problem, and
it does matter to you, and it should and talks
of tariffs and other noise, Customers are looking for a solution,
and that solution is affordable monthly payment. Some banks have
(37:31):
dealt with this, extending financing terms out to eighty four
and even ninety six months, which is nuts. In fact,
over twenty percent of auto loans today are seven years long.
Are you actually buying a car and treating it like
a mortgage? That's what we're doing these days with all
these prices. Don't do it. This is why more clients
are considering leasing than any other time in recent history.
(37:52):
DNM Leasing is the nation's leasing leader, with fifty thousand
satisfied clients on the road today driving their vehicles. With
forty nine years in the business, experts have specialized and
yet thinking about this solving your high payment problems, which
is important with an easy lease, that's ez lease with
no money down, payments significantly lower. Doesn't that music to
(38:15):
your ears? And no money down in the lower payments
and buying terms that make sense. So why wouldn't you
call or go to uh DM auto leasing dot com.
That's dmodoleasing dot com. You can also call them at
seven one three two nine zero one thousand. You go
on there at dmodeleasing dot com and you're gonna find
everything you need. And if you want to save money
(38:37):
on your monthly payments and no money down, this is
the place to be. Quit spending all that money. Go
to DNM leasing DM auto leasing dot com.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
This Sean Salisbury Show continues to continue.
Speaker 3 (38:52):
Yes, yeah, there you go right there. You've got disdained
Danny on the negative Danny on the you've had it Danny.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
I would say angry would be dangerous? Dan right, dangerous
and ye okay I the eyes turn red and then
I turned green like the Hulk.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
Yeah, So, uh, what's a positive D word? I keep
saying that that I'll mean it like that, folks, I promise,
but it's it's you know, it's actually pretty funny. What
are you talking about? Like, you go disdain Danny, I
need the happy. So what's the D word for Danny
when you're when it's like you're not in about what's
a happy D word? Let's see and I keep saying that,
(39:32):
but I'm not talking about what a woman might make
her happy for men's d cutting. Oh oh oh okay, yeah,
I wonder where you're going there. Yeah, oh yeah, I'm
just being I'm being serious. I'm trying to figure out
we got disdain or dangerous Dan? What's the one when
you're happy?
Speaker 1 (39:47):
Positive word that starts with D dazzling, delightful, delightful.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
Danny should have thought dazzling Danny works, but delightful Danny's perfect.
Dapper Dan. Yeah, they're good apper Dan classic. I don't
school high school. Yeah, yeah, delightful Dan. I'm a dapper
Dan man. There you go. I ain't no fop man.
So we got your delightful Danny today I am. It
can't be Danny, just gotta be Danny when you put
the nickname brown water was flowing. Last night. It was
(40:12):
it was good.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
I had some Randy Rogers, some Josh Abbott bands, some
Roger Craiger going. And then this morning, on the way
in a little bit of slim.
Speaker 3 (40:19):
Thug you went. You went you went thug on their
ass fun b So you decided to jump into some Houston. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
As soon as I saw the downtown Houston skyline, I
was like, you know what, it's guts in your feels.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
It's the right it's the right morning for it.
Speaker 11 (40:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
Nice, Yeah, nice, you went right to slim Thug.
Speaker 1 (40:40):
Nice because I wanted to as part of the show
Open to Day, I wanted to use the song I'm
Back from Slim Thug.
Speaker 3 (40:46):
I just couldn't find a clean version of it. But
where there's not a lot of the FCC rules say
we can't play that.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
Yeah, I was gonna say, I mean, I'm not trying
to get Triple E in trouble.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
I'm not trying to get you in trouble me any
of us. They got to take your scholarship, boy, they
probably would.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
And I was gonna say, I mean, Brian, you know,
Brian Erickson's an early riser, And I could already see
him looking right through that the window and being like, hey,
you know not after the show, I got to talk
to you.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
Now. What he looks at He says like like, give
me the right hand. Why why is Cole Thompson with
Gordy's out of town. Give me the right hand. There
you go. But hey, delightful, Danny, I am after the tram.
At what point in the day did you become delightful? Yesterday?
Speaker 1 (41:25):
Oh, as soon as the Korea news came down, like
I was just like, oh my god, and here I
am too, like look at you all around.
Speaker 3 (41:31):
I was looking around. Okay, I missed something here, they
gave up something because I knew there was there was
a little bit of that. But then it was also
where I knew I didn't have a Korea jersey, but
I thought that I had bought a jersey a few
years ago. So we've got that jersey shirt jersey, Yeah, right, gotcha. Now,
so that's not got the number and the name on it,
but it's a T shirt.
Speaker 1 (41:52):
But then, funny enough, like it's every once in a
while and I feel like, this is you know, one
of my loved ones from the past that will we'll
help me out every once in a while. So there
was an orange shirt at the top of the crate,
and I thought, oh, this is it, this is the
one bregman.
Speaker 3 (42:08):
It was Bregmantremant. So it was like, ah, no, I
mean it was just get it because of the future.
Who knows, dude, that's true, that's true.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
You never know.
Speaker 3 (42:19):
Who knows, dude. I'm laughing. I'm trying to picture you.
You were taking you're just what do you call it
to get the jersey? Yeah, that's what they're called.
Speaker 11 (42:25):
Right.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
It's kind of like jorts, right, shorts. Yeah, I think
you could be a jort guy. No, maybe, no, sh
not even here's your look, okay, let me just give
you the look you got, like white socks that are
low calf. Let me finish white sox low calves. Maybe
(42:46):
some Jordan's on the black and white version, the original
Jordans high tops with those white socks up to the
lower part of your calf. I think jorts that are
the nine inch inch seam down to the top of
the knee, and you tuck in the jersey short, the
jersey shirt, and you have a fanny pack on no
(43:07):
Perkins straight and in that fanny pack is sunscreen. Lip
you know, to to like we always went with h
just I want to say lip, Yeah, chapstick, and that
is what else would be. Oh, you're you might be
you might have wanted to put your keys in there,
but you put them on your belt loop.
Speaker 8 (43:31):
That you could like.
Speaker 3 (43:33):
Because you have like four like it's like women, Well,
I can say it. It's a fact. Guys only have
like one key or the house in their vehicle. Key. Dude,
if you you try to go to a woman, they
need a purse just for the key. Ching it like
weighs seven pounds. You're like, hey, could you know I'm
not carrying your draw right dude, it's unreal, So you're
(43:58):
not going. I know we got to go to break
but you're no sorts, no fanny pack for you now.
So I pegged it wrong. Low cut, black socks. No shows.
As a matter of fact, the shows you get no nice.
I'm a no show guy. Nice. I gotta show off
those ankles. Yeah, I really didn't think you'd wear that stuff.
But it's kind of good to paint the pig because
we all know that guy right. Oh, you make sure
you can you visualize it easily. Does he have a
(44:20):
mullet pretty close to a lot of times, Yeah, a
lot of times might look a little bit like Brian King,
just a little bit the mustache, you know, but can't
quite perform as well as now. Not on the steel guitar.
All right, promise get to you guys on the phone
lines and the ladies too. You know anybody out there,
You're all welcome.

Hey guys, Uh, you know I can't do I really
can't do the don very well. But I can't do
my Sean Connor and say what a great job Data
Brown and this group did remarkable. However, Yeah, I just
you know, I couldn't call last week. Man, it was
just a uh, just a waveless just sadding this over
and over again, with all the legends of icunts passing
for my generation, I just I couldn't. I couldn't add
(46:22):
much to the to the show. Uh So I just
went ahead and and waited, and I was gonna calling yet.
A couple of days ago, did I got wind of
Korea possibly be traded to Houston? I said, Man, I said.
I was talking to my wife and said, I don't know, baby,
I call in. I think I'm on a jins And
she goes, yeah, you feel like you got a jac
don't just wait, just wait, don't don't don't, don't have
(46:42):
it up. I was like, oh, yeah, you're right, you're right.
Let me just wait because I don't know if you
noticed the last game with the Assos were playing that
A two B went four for four. He must have
known something, man, because he was acting a little, I mean,
more joyful than his usual self. He was acting like
like like like like he just found uh his long
lost dog or something. Man. He was I just noticed
(47:05):
that he was very very giddy, uh that last game,
like he knew something we did. I'm just saying, just
just cirt me like that. And I was just like,
let me not, let me not mess this up. And
I'll just wait. And man, what avoid We've had that
void every since he left. You know, talk about quiet
leadership and all that good stuff. It's just not the same.
Speaker 17 (47:25):
Bro.
Speaker 10 (47:26):
This guy, this guy knows how to how to you know,
be the manager on the on the field, and and
you know, and he performs as well. So you know,
you can't have one without the other. You can't have
a guy who's gonna you know, pep you up and
and and and and sharing the right direction. He can't
be a scrub. So yeah, this guy, he was, he
was lacking that. It was a big boy without the
(47:46):
captain that he just I just feel like that that
that Dana Brown corrected something that we that you know,
we should have done in the first place, and uh, guys,
that's all I have is back in the golf clubs
and uh but see what they.
Speaker 3 (47:59):
Do there we go you appreciate and the Sean Connery
though appreciate you. You're bringing that to us today. Just
back today's Friday, right, Yes it is Sean Connory. Yeah,
there you go. I Miss Sean Connor loses to the
best winners go home and well you know the rest.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
But now, I mean you just one of the points
that Roger brought up, and that's that's I think what
the excitement was yesterday, Sean, is that for the longest time,
it's been not only the fear of realizing that the
conclusion will come that Bregman won't be here anymore, Corre
I won't be here, Springer, any of those guys, they
won't be here anymore, like for the longest time. I mean,
(48:43):
it's kind of like we were talking about the other
day where I wouldn't say that you're grieving them going
other places, but you're still like, damn man, like this
thing little by little is getting stripped down, like this sucks.
Speaker 3 (48:55):
And yesterday was the first time in a reality kick. Yeah,
that's what sucks. Yeah, in the first time in a while.
It's a oh my gosh, like we're that team again.
And even though you'd been winning on the field, like
there was still a feeling of well, eventually, you know,
this thing's gonna come to an end. And yesterday I
feel like it was an energy boost of yeah, feels
good again. There's no doubt his presence, even if he
(49:18):
doesn't play like an MVP will will matter. And then
in order to keep that energy going, you know, he
goes in Fenway to night and Hammers won over the
Monster and then it goes three for four and makes
a couple plays third base that this city's gonna be
standing on her head.
Speaker 1 (49:34):
August eleventh is the first time that he will have
a chance to step back in the batter's box. I'm
telling you it's even gonna be before Robert Ford said, yeah,
that Bob Ford. Robert Ford obviously on the radio side,
but Bob Ford, the PA guy. Third basement number one,
Carlos Correna, I mean that place that Pop is going
(49:55):
to be there as he's walking to the batter's box.
Speaker 3 (49:59):
Even when they do the pregame lineups, Yeah, the video board,
that's when they come back home. Who do they play first?
When that sucks? That's right again. Yeah, that's when the eleventh, yeah, twelfth,
that Monday night. Yeah, it's about a Tuesday Wednesday. It's
a three gamer. Yeah.
Speaker 18 (50:18):
Yeah, it's gonna be fun, a good chances. I'm thinking
I need to be in the building. And then you know,
to Rogers, Yeah I do too. Yeah, yeah, like one
of my good buddies. He his name's Carlos too and
the same. Yeah, I'm I'm that that's gonna be fine.
Span if he's raking by the time he gets back here.
Speaker 3 (50:38):
Yeah, they're good. We're all gonna lose our collective minds,
which is a good thing.
Speaker 1 (50:42):
And remember we even talked about it yesterday. To Rogers
point that al twove, I said, it's almost like a
guy or a girl they've met someone there there, it's
it's fresh, it's new, it's fun. It's the honeymoon phase
of the relationship. And you're like, I don't want to
ruin this.
Speaker 3 (50:56):
I don't. I don't want to talk too much about it.
I don't.
Speaker 1 (50:58):
I don't want to. I don't want to get too
far ahead of myself. But you know, that's kind of
what it was. With del Tuve where he was like,
all right, no more questions, I'm done, like he didn't
want to jinx to himself.
Speaker 3 (51:08):
Yep, And now here they are back together again. It's
going to be pretty cool to see. If nothing else,
it'll be cool. But they told you loudly that they
expect to be a World Series champion with this move,
and these move they just did. Now expect and finish
or two different things. But if you ever wondered if
the owner and the general manager were committed to a
(51:30):
team and to winning and not just waiting till twenty
thirty and building it that way, but to make sure
that you have assets in twenty thirty, and you didn't
give that away. It was an accomplishment of both. To
keep your roster the young guys and veterans for the
most part intact sans Ryan Gusto, and then to add
three players. It will impact your Now, they'll impact one
(51:52):
way or the other. If none of them work out,
it'll be like what a bummer, we needed them. But
I don't think that's going to be the case. The
impact is going to be the fact you found three
guys that can start regularly and one that may not
start regular, but comes off the bench when people are healthy,
gives you great depth and great versatility, and also frees
(52:12):
up a guy like Dubond to do some other things too.
This is a really good This was a good thing.
It would have been topped off by damn near perfection
if you would have got like a Dylan Ceese or
a Merrill. But guess what this is. But it also
should tell you they weren't willing to sacrifice it because
they know coming down the pike that they've got a
couple starters that are going to be ready to go.
You got an A on the test. You just you
missed the bonus question, right, so you didn't get the
(52:33):
A plus.
Speaker 8 (52:33):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (52:34):
You got like a ninety seven and the bonus question
would have taken you to one hundred. But you still
got your A now right, It's like, oh, man, I
was close to a perfect score. I just needed that well,
but part of the perfect score you would have had
to take away from They did not deplete squat yesterday,
and they added three starting players that all have some
(52:54):
kind of gold glove ureus. We know a Korea to
the table and Sanchez might be one of the sneaky
gets in the trade deadline because you know what, his
name never came up, never came up, but left handed
bat pencil him in left field, get healthy and got
some pot pop in him. So that was a good get.
(53:16):
That's the one man. I just tell you, and you
hope that Korea we know what he brings. This could
be a really really good and you get all everybody healthy.
I want Joe A. Spotted to have to say damn
for the first time, right what this is really cool?
I got a stable of horses and that thing as
opposed to damn what. I got to go buy another quad.
(53:39):
I don't know what I'm doing. He knows what you do,
but I got to go find somebody because we're just
we're just simply a true We're getting hammered and to
keep them in first place. Come on, man, if we're
not looking at the manager and possibly executive. You know
the Padres have done great stuff too at the trade deadline,
but you can't tell me that what they've done, that
this is normal. Forget the trade deadline. Just what Joe
(54:01):
Spot has done. And listen, I was a huge Dusty
Baker guy. Still am always will be in because he's
a friend too, but he's a hell of a baseball guy,
and you wondered what the distance will be. And remember
when it first started out, Joe was getting, you know,
like a rookie player, even though he'd been around baseball.
Being the managers different than being top steps, a little
different than being the bench coach. But man as he
handled a handle it like a charm. You saddled him
(54:25):
in year two with and I guarant asked he he
didn't expect this, but he was prepared for it. And
can you imagine not expecting it and being ill prepared
for it. He may not have expected it, but you
prepare for whatever that conflict is. And there's been conflict
and they've always found an answer. And they asked and
they answered one yesterday. Joe's spott is doing his job,
(54:47):
and Dana Brown and his scouting department and they are
doing theirs. And if you're worried, now, you tell me
what Trump's what the fact that we got it. Dana
has to play doctor once a week with us and
people that he he doesn't want to play because he's
trying to keep you up to dated on rehab. But
you know there's forty eight of them? Or do you
want the guy that goes out and gets you players
and saves other players they're here. I'll take that guy,
(55:10):
and he is. And if he's not a finalist for
Executive of the Year, then Baseball's got it wrong. And
if Joe spot Her right now is not the manager
of the Year, and I don't want to hear, well,
what about a j eight good? But he was loaded
with the pitching staff. I don't and nobody the Dodgers.
I guess you could say Dave Roberts if they could
do it because of all the injuries, but even their
backups were expected to dominate this team. Losing that, we
(55:31):
didn't know if they were going to be that good.
Losing all the guys they lost with Bregman and Tucker
posts no question, and going in we create I mean,
Javier Garcia, you knew going in the guys that were hurt,
and then you lost Bregman and Tucker. Who survives that?
I mean when I say survives it, who thrives in it?
Speaker 13 (55:53):
That?
Speaker 3 (55:53):
I just most teams would have wilted. I don't care
what you say. Most teams would have wilted and been
looking around. I confess he did it, and at no
time have they good on the Astros and Dana Brown,
and good on Joe a Spota for the way he's
taking it. None of us want that assignment, dude. I'm
just telling you to manage it. We may be pissed
when a guy doesn't hit and all that, but you
don't want that assignment. You just don't. And that's why
(56:15):
he's the manager and he's embraced it. In a year
or two, I would say that the transition from you know,
aj to Dusty Dusty to Joe Spotta has worked quite well,
thank you.
Speaker 1 (56:25):
A couple of things. One is, I said FD functional depth.
Now you've got functional depth. And the other is when
Jordan finally does come back, and if Dana does address
the media that day, they need to send him out
there in a lab coat.
Speaker 3 (56:39):
Oh yeah, it would be funny. It would be funny
sitting in a message even.
Speaker 1 (56:44):
The old school wi the reflective thing that the old
school doctors used to wear on their forehead and.
Speaker 3 (56:49):
A stethoscope around his neck, no question in the in
the pins in the pockets, oh yeah. And not not
only that, the coat with scrubs on, and also one
of those shoes. Used to talk about the people wear
that slippersistance know that that uh yeah, but no the
ones that you do you say you wear that, I
say only doctors and people on their feet all the time,
that they're they're good for like a four year old
(57:10):
boythots O, what are those shoes that people wear? They
slide into the the UC You said you have a
crocs and wearing crocs because they're good on his feets.
And then it's been a tough run, but look at us.
So eventually I got there. There you go. And you know,
Dane'll do that when we have him on next week,
he'll thank his staff for doing yeoman's work. And we've
got we've got a good stuff here. Yeah, no doubt
(57:31):
so good, Yeah, no doubt about it. Tell me right
now there's not a different energy feel going and you
were even in first place. Tell me there's just not
a different energy feel. That's gonna be a fun bus
ride to the ballpark right there is and I can't
wait to see it, and tuned into all of them,
and plus just the Fenway Park. It's the Astros and
Reds like this way is supposed to be. And then
we get them back here, which is, you know, two
teams that are capable of winning the whole thing if
(57:53):
they play right at the right time, no doubt about it.
Be fun, John, Do you want to give you a
ton of time? So we'll give you that.
Speaker 1 (57:58):
Alex, Bobby c guys right there, and I mean I
mentioned it yesterday. You know they did steak out one
and then another steak out. So Emilia Estevez, Richard Dreyfus
right here with you on the Sean Salisbury Show.
Speaker 3 (58:09):
And I'm also going to tell you about trasan wealth.
Those guys made a lot of money in their lives.
I'm sure they're prepared for their retirement, are you. I'd
like to think we all need to prepare for our
retirement the right way, and having it a wealth advisor
is a good thing, especially when they are experts and
they understand, you know, the products in the market and
what your needs are for your portfolio. Right Isn't that
(58:30):
what's important? Local and trusted right here in the Woodlands
and sugar Land, and there's nothing better than a boutique.
Feel that when you walk into a building, you feel
like they've known you forever and they're treating you as such,
which is a good thing. And when it comes to
four to one K rollover or retirement planning, when you
should get started, what your portfolio is supposed to look like,
the lifestyle that you want. Man, it takes a lot
(58:52):
of money to retire. Have you prepared for it? The
sooner you get started, the better off your be. So
if you're near it, thinking about it, or in retirement,
why in the world, And if you want to stay retired,
wouldn't it be a wise idea to apply the proper
preparation prevents poor performance theory that if you're out in
front of it, when you get to retirement, it's supposed
to be stress free. It's not supposed to stress you
(59:14):
out financially, you're supposed to have peace of mind. And
if part of your portfolios I want to travel with
the grand kids of the family, bam let, Trasian Wealth
stand shoulder to shoulder with you, at least support you
in what you want to do. Di Wyan's a great time.

you might need somebody to put their arm around you

(59:35):

a year to plan it. How long you think it
takes to prepare for retirement exactly. So if you want
to stay retired with that peace of mind and have
somebody that's got expertise and can walk you through it

Speaker 1 (01:00:14):
This is the Sean Salisbury Show.
Speaker 8 (01:00:17):
Are you not the tang and let's just begin sadly.
Speaker 9 (01:00:21):
Now alcohol yeah gay on Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 3 (01:00:31):
All right, Sean, what are you hearing out there?
Speaker 8 (01:00:34):
Now?
Speaker 9 (01:00:34):
The Salsbury takeout, Salisbury takeout on The Sean Salisbury Show.
Speaker 1 (01:00:49):
Sean Salisbury Show, Post Trade deadline Friday, Stros get Carlos
Korea and Yesus Sanchez at the deadline, just miss out
on Dylanc. There was a possibility for uh Fairbanks too
from the Rays. But they're in Boston starting a series
with the Red Sox, Hunter Brown the night to get
that series going, and Texans back on the practice field
(01:01:12):
a couple more days here in Houston before they head
out to the Greenbrier. All right, you know this is
the time. We're sitting in the car, We're we're binoculars out,
We're we're staking out. We're right here and joining us
today for it. Our good buddy John and Neville guy's going.
Speaker 3 (01:01:29):
John.
Speaker 19 (01:01:31):
Well, earlier y'all had me cracking up with forty seven
and everything. I was sitting here in my off was
just cracking up and just couldn't.
Speaker 3 (01:01:38):
I was just Edville.
Speaker 15 (01:01:40):
But a tremendous man's that's great, does tremendous roof work.
Like I said, you know here my logo everywhere in between.
Speaker 19 (01:01:51):
Kind I'm about to head out to Bremham to check
on the boys and then shoot over back to Schulenburg.
Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
But hey, oh man, Devil's advocate. But I got a
lot of questions. Look, man, what okay?
Speaker 19 (01:02:05):
Is there a rental player?
Speaker 3 (01:02:09):
No, he's he's under contract for a while. No, he's
here rental. Okay, yeah, he's here, Okay, Okay.
Speaker 19 (01:02:17):
You didn't want to pay him before, he didn't want
to sign on the dotted line when him and AJ
were meeting and all this, you didn't want to pay
Kyle Tucker. You didn't want Now you got Pereus over there.
What you're gonna do when he comes back next year?
Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
Well, Jonathan, you got.
Speaker 19 (01:02:35):
You got Penya coming up. But his contract situation, situation
is Jim Crane prepared to get over the tax bracket.
Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
Okay, let me ask you this, John, Let's apply it
to everyday business. You do great business, obviously, that's why
you and I do this together, and you're awesome at it.
All of a sudden that comes up and you got
forty seven people that get to hold of you in
one day, and you need to cover them all. Guess
what you're gonna do. You're gonna make it work, right,
You're gonna find a way if he means higher other
people moving around that whatever, You're gonna make it work.
(01:03:06):
That's a good problem to have. I'll tell you what
they're gonna do. They're either gonna use somebody as a
trade asset or they're gonna prepare like they've had to
this year. We got depth. And imagine if we didn't
have any depth this year and you didn't trust him,
this team would be the hell in a handbasket. But
they've had enough people to have stepped up and done
their job. And as far as the carea and why
you didn't pay him good, isn't that the object to
buy low sell high? You didn't have to pay him
(01:03:28):
all that money for all those years when he left.
Now you get him back at a much cheaper price
and a guy who's excited to be back and fulfills
a position, So you actually win by losing him at first.
You win in the long run because he hasn't been
the MVP there. His best baseball was played here. And
now you get a guy back for a much cheaper price.
And look what you gave up to get him nothing.
(01:03:49):
For the most part, you don't even know nothing. So yeah,
I'm okay with having more than less.
Speaker 19 (01:03:55):
Yeah, And I agree with what you say, Sean, absolutely.
I mean, yeah, you know you got forty nine people. Absolutely,
I have no problem, and I'm not comparing apples to grapefruits.
Crane's a great businessman, but you always hear your buddy
Dan Brown, which you just always hear them saying about
(01:04:19):
the luxury tax, and the.
Speaker 3 (01:04:22):
I get it. You don't want to spend all that money.
Speaker 19 (01:04:24):
You don't want to be the Dodgers, you don't want
to be the Yankees.
Speaker 3 (01:04:28):
You you know, I get Hey, I hope it's it's
a better problem to have. Well, don't you think John
forgetting to forget next year or the year after. Let's
forget let's forget what they're gonna pay in contracts to
Fromber because he's a free agent. Right let me ask
you this as a baseball fan, and you are an
a sports fan and a good one. Are they better
(01:04:50):
today than they were yesterday?
Speaker 13 (01:04:52):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (01:04:52):
Hell yes?
Speaker 3 (01:04:52):
Oh then then let's my whole goal right now is
I'm gonna deal with twenty twenty five and that's and
then I'll look to But they didn't crust their future
because they didn't give up. They didn't give up any
of those prospects that we expect to be great players
here for the most part, they didn't. And then they
won this year with this trade. So real quick, let
me go back to what Rogers said while ago. Roger
(01:05:14):
hit it on the head.
Speaker 19 (01:05:16):
Correa is a great field general, okay, number one, number two,
and you know me, Sean, I hate going backwards and
not stand going backwards and all that. Correa, if you
think about it, Korea is the one that kept Farmer
Valdez a few years back under control on that frigging mound.
Speaker 3 (01:05:41):
Who when when Farmer was going.
Speaker 19 (01:05:44):
All starting to get mad or not like to call
the signals not like in the pitch and blah blah blah,
Correa would go over there and he'd tell him, look, man,
you need to he I mean, I remember seeing him
doing that in the playoffs with him a couple of times.
Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
It's definitely sports psychologist. The empire out of the way
to get to him. Yeah, he was definitely the sports
psychologist for Fromber, which is a good thing.
Speaker 19 (01:06:08):
Well, I will definitely give that to him there, man.
Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
But I just yeah, I mean, because.
Speaker 19 (01:06:13):
How long do we how long did we sign uh,
how many years did we sign perees for?
Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
Well, they got him and he still had year, so
he'll have two more years of control. So we got
two more years there.
Speaker 19 (01:06:25):
I just I just, man, God, I hope we're not
having this conversation next year at that Well, we let
Jeremy walk I just can't see Crane letting Jeremy Penia
walk in, even though he's got Scott bores.
Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
I just I don't know. I don't want to see Correy.
Speaker 19 (01:06:43):
I don't want to see Penia.
Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
Let go how about this? How about this? We can
you and I don't have a beer. We'll psychology. We'll
go give our our sports psychology talk to we will
be you. I'll be your from Ber, you can be Fromber.
I'll be Corey or vice versa. And we'll worry about
spring training twenty twenty six. Let's enjoy this because won't
the ring be worth it? And then we'll deal with
that later. I'm not borrowing trouble is my thing. I'm
(01:07:07):
not gonna I'm not going to chase the ghost to
borrow trouble. There'll be enough of that worrying about injuries
in spring and wins Parade is coming back with his
hamstring next year. I'm choosing to think I'm just in
this for the next three months. I'll deal with the
off season the offseason, and I'm not worried about salary
caps or any or not sory cap, but luxury taxes
or anything. Now I'm worried about, Well, these three guys
contribute and get this team and get healthy and get
(01:07:28):
a World Series. They're closer to it, I think than
they were a week ago. John, And I think you
think the same time. Good good stuff, Brother, appreciate it. Yeah, YouTube, brother,
thank you, See buddy. Yeah, I think there's concern, but
we've upgraded. Well, what does Dana say all the time?
President in the future. Yeah, and I both And he
talked about it yesterday. I mean he talked about the.
Speaker 1 (01:07:48):
Fact that you know, you've got your eye on going
for it this year, but then I mean, yeah, you've
got to be prepared for next year. And if it
does come to a situation of hey, do we trade paratis,
it's a good problem to have.
Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
Well, if they do and he keeps performing, you're gonna
get something for a guy like that because he's been
really good here and a hamstring you can he's hamsteing.
Going to be fine. That's just one of those things
that it was a tear, and a tear takes a while.
Speaker 1 (01:08:12):
You think, just miraculously today we're gonna finally get the
what the finished product is after the second opinion for
peretis Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
Surgery and I'll see you in spring training. That's what
it seems like. That's my that's my, uh, doctor Salisbury's prediction.
There you go, lab coat on, like I said, the
reflective thing. There you go, buddy, You've got it right there.
He scrubbed in, Ready to go. Do you have a
Do we have a stakeout? I mean I did, but
I mean we'll mix it in as it goes. Oh yeah,
I like hearing from our caller, especially today when they've
(01:08:43):
all got an opinion on this stume.
Speaker 1 (01:08:44):
You know, we're gonna let you guys gobble it up.
Next segment, there you go seven one three two one
two five, seven ninety. It is a Sean Salisbury Show,
Sports Talk seven ninety. The Sewan Salisbury Show continued. But
uh even uh you know, pour one out for singer
Hall right there on forty six and New Bronfles Brother,
(01:09:06):
I'll tell you that's I always tell that to people too.
Speaker 3 (01:09:08):
If you know, oh country music, I want to go
to Austin.
Speaker 1 (01:09:10):
I'm like, no, no, no, no, no no no. People
from out of state, I'm like, no, no, no, no, no.
Austin is just the one that gets the credit. Now,
New bron Fols sagein those towns. That's Texas country right there.
I freaking love it too, Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
So maybe do you think next week I could have
Data when he comes out on Wednesday? Data?
Speaker 17 (01:09:30):
You know this?
Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
Pat Green cut? Oh you mean showing wave on wave? Yeah,
let me get that for you. It was karaoke for
us because it did come upon us wave on wave.
And I'm telling you right now that that that could
make that a tsunami, no pun intended for those in danger.
Now you get my point. I'm talking about a baseball
tsunami on the rest of the American League. Now I'm
okay with it. Good on Pat Green, Good on Data Brown,
(01:09:51):
and good on the astros. If you don't have a
little bit of shot at be twelve in you today,
then then we need to check your pulse because this
is good. This gotta have you. Whether you think Korea
is going to be an All Star or not. This
is an upgrade. I'm not saying from praide. It's just
an upgrade to the roster. Dana Brown did what he
promised He's always going to do. We're always in it
to give us a better chance to win, to make
(01:10:12):
this roster better, and he made it better without mortgaging
the future yesterday. That's hard to do, especially when you
stay around, say, man, look what Detroit did, and think
about this, if Dana wouldn't have been a great there's
no that's exactly right, even the you point it at
our own angels, No, no doubt about it. And that's
normally not like them at this stage. We've already discounted
(01:10:34):
them at this stage. And you think about what Dana
Brown doing this and making these decisions and jumping out front, think, ha,
do you not been aggressive and kind of played at
the passive aggressive mode and it gets to about four
thirty central yesterday, desperation, Yeah, and then this guy's not here.
They don't pull the Karrea trigger, or they do pull it,
(01:10:56):
but they pull it later. And then all a sudden, Minnesota,
it's too close to hold him hostile. And then what
does Dana have to do then? If you really want to,
because you're not going to go empty handed, this the
thought process would be okay, Now I got to give
up Matthews, I got to give up Melton, and you start, man,
he did all the aggressive, jumped out in front, and
then you get to a point. Man, we'd love Dylan
(01:11:16):
see so we'd love another picture or Merril can't pull
it off, and you're not desperate to say I got
to make a move at four fifty five, So let
me throw one of these guys in to solidify this
and get it under the timeframe. No, if it happens, great,
that's the bonus. If it doesn't, Arraghetty Javier hopefully Garcia.
You had Correa, you had Sanchez, you had Ureus, we
(01:11:39):
got three other there. We keep our guys. Jordan's right
around the corner. Pain is pain is right around the corner.
H O good. You're not holding me hostage even to
get a Dylan Cee's and he didn't have to do it.
If that's not a double win, I don't know what
is well.
Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
I mean it's it's talk about the narratives too, of
even the never Dana crowd out there, who of course
were as loud as possible for the Kokuchi trade that
worked out incredibly well. Like I said, it was a
bad day for the fire Dana crowd yesterday. Look you
look at the deals and you're just like, the hell
did we give up? Can you please tell me Honestly,
where's the fire Dana crowd come from? You tell me,
(01:12:15):
give me two reasons. I can give you one that
doesn't require fire data.
Speaker 3 (01:12:21):
He didn't go to medical school, folks, and you could
put any if Dana said, Sean, listen for the first
three minutes of our interview. I'm gonna put on our doctor.
You know what I'm saying. He'll answer those questions and
then we can talk about what this roster and what
this means. I'll talk about depth and when we get
a guy back or don't. In truth, I just ask
did we put ourselves in that situation? You got to
(01:12:43):
go on every week and talk about four hundred injuries,
and your presentation is how people judge your moves. His
presentation is he's enthusiastic, trying to make it better that
he saddled with I got eighteen nineteen dudes hurt. How's
he supposed to answer you wor't ought to be back tomorrow?
And if he's not back tomorrow against everybody says, ah
(01:13:05):
to us, what he didn't mean to oh? If he
says he's back on August twelfth, then he's back on
August twentieth, Well, what he misdiagnosis if he's okay, I
understand this is taking a long time, But do you
think Dana's been in there saying, hey, man, could you
tell me something different so I can just tell the credit. No,
he's got to go by it with what he sold.
That's he's not doctor Dana Brown. He operated yesterday like
(01:13:25):
a doctor. But so it's not bad that he comes on.
We've been critical of some of the stuff. Who wouldn't Hell,
I've I've had him on and I'm going to pepper
him with stuff, say are you sure? And yes, he
stands his ground. Love him, and he's made decisions that
if he didn't have to play doctor on the air
with us or with Robert Ford when they do there
and Steve Sparks. I want you to think about how
(01:13:48):
you'd be discussing him as the executive of the Year.
And it doubles down here because of the moves he's made.
Think about how you would be Okay, judge his body
of work. Go ahead, I'll wait.
Speaker 1 (01:14:02):
Oh, I mean, I think the judgment is right there
in the silence. Right, So it's been, it's been.
Speaker 3 (01:14:08):
There's no phenomenal, there's no different than me asking you
that when your dog's if your dog was not feeling well,
he had to take your dog to the vet to
remove a tooth. And I say, Dan, Man, when's your
dog gonna beating hard food again? Well, Sean, I don't know.
A week, two weeks. I'm just going off second information.
Why are you a no?
Speaker 8 (01:14:26):
Thank you?
Speaker 3 (01:14:27):
And he's had to do it for twenty five people.
So if you're just judging the way, if you didn't
like him, and you don't like it, and you didn't
you thought he doesn't make great baseball decisions, I'd like
you to come on here and prove to me why.
And if Kakuchi would have went one in seven last year,
pepper him all you want.
Speaker 1 (01:14:45):
Did you see who got traded yesterday? Go ahead, Will Wagner. Yeah,
and he was one of those in the in the deal, right, Yeah,
So I.
Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
Just you know, and some work out for both teams,
some work out for one team, some don't work out
for either. I'm listening. If you don't think that east
on the surface, before any of these guys play a
game that they did not win, if you got five
teams that won yesterday, the Astros are one of them.
Speaker 1 (01:15:09):
The talking head shows. I mean and even we've got
MLB network on in here. And if you want to
go through what some people had to give up to
get yesterday, yep, they did, asked San Diego, tell tell
me a guy that they gave up yesterday that you
expect to be a Hall of Famer or a great
player for ten years.
Speaker 3 (01:15:24):
Gusto is a good pitcher, solid. He's not going to
be your number one ever. No, he's the middle of
the rotation game. God bless him, and good at it.
You tell me a Bingo into conversation. Dana Brown's done
a hell of a job since he's been here. With
pressure to boot to keep going what they've already built here,
he's just added to it. Forget that, Dana browns. There's
(01:15:45):
a pay race for the decisions he's made.
Speaker 1 (01:15:47):
Full board right here. I see are you all and
we will get you all involved the whole segments for them.
That's it seven one, three, two, two, five, seven ninety.
Also to road Flow Robert Flores eight fifteen, going to
join us here Sean SAAL's show We want to Wait.
Sean Salisbury continues on seven ninety that they rallied around
(01:16:07):
the song nowhere to run nowhere to hide, because Kirby
had said when they had beat a team, he said
they had nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, And
they started to use that as like the rallying song,
kind of like the Rangers a couple of years ago.
Speaker 8 (01:16:19):
Whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:16:20):
Yeah, whatever it takes, whatever gets you over around through,
I don't care, take it over and let's go. So yeah,
it's uh, whatever cut they're playing, there's going to be
some energy in Fenway Park tonight, you know it as
Hunter Brown will be on the mound for that one.
Speaker 1 (01:16:36):
We'll have it here Sports Talk seven ninety and also
to Carlos Corea, Jesus Sanchez, both astros now squeeze in
a couple of you before we hit the top of
the hour. Let's start first with Bobby and Kingwood. Bobby,
good morning, Good morning.
Speaker 20 (01:16:50):
Thanks guys taking my call. I said a couple of
questions about Sanchez and uriahs. I'm not really sure about
their positions, Like, I know, you know Sanchez is an outfield,
but is he like dominantly left field or can he
play center field as well?
Speaker 17 (01:17:05):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:17:06):
Sanchez, I know that Dina said yesterday that he by
trade has played a lot of right field.
Speaker 3 (01:17:13):
They expect him to be a corner outfield.
Speaker 1 (01:17:15):
Yeah, I mean he'll he'll be out and left because
and I mean I don't know how much center fields
in play for him, but yeah, you're gonna be playing
him out in the out in left field, especially with
Tramuel here right now and a left handed bat then bingo.
Speaker 20 (01:17:30):
And see that's why I was on the old Google
machine and I was looking at his speed and he's
right at about the same speed where Jake Meyer. So
I just we're like, why not throw him at center,
you know, and that way you have that gift that
gap field for a little bit and let du bond,
you know, just pick up in other you know, areas
as needed. And uh with your reas is he's a
(01:17:51):
utility player as well?
Speaker 1 (01:17:52):
Correct, yes, but last third base and and that's and
that's why you know, the questions were too of well
you've already got Mauricio Dubon, why add him. I think
they're gonna primarily use him as an infield version of that,
and then you are able to kind of what you're
just talking about. You can platoon even out there in
left field. You want to take out one of those
(01:18:13):
left handed bats because you're facing the left tee that day. Boom,
there's Mauricio Dubon.
Speaker 8 (01:18:19):
Okay, good. Yeah.
Speaker 20 (01:18:20):
So that's why I mean, I love this trade. I
thought it was just a fantastic trade because I always wanted,
you know, just you know, we could pltend Eurias and
Dubon at second base and then you have Correa and
and Penya on the left side, and you know, you know,
with their egos aside, Correa is gonna you know, try
to prove the Penya you know, like, oh like now
it's time to hit, and and he's gonna show him
(01:18:41):
the same thing, like, well, this is why I got
the job. And you know, they're gonna be great teammates together.
And I think that they're just gonna thrive off of
each other's energy and they're they're gonna put some good
bats up when they're in the lineup together.
Speaker 1 (01:18:51):
Feeling good about it. Bobby No, for sure, appreciate it, man.
And uh, I mean that's one of the things too.
Before the season, Joe Spotta had talked about Penya being
one those guys that could step up be a clubhouse leader.
And I think Korea has been around long enough that
there's not going to be any stepping on toes or anything.
Somebody wants to ask him a question, he'll answer a question.
But aside from that, he'll say, hey, guys, I've been
(01:19:12):
away for a couple of years, So you guys, whatever
dynamic you have, I've got to be able to join
up with you guys, not the other way around.
Speaker 3 (01:19:21):
Great point, it's his turn to adjust to the organization.
He has been away, and I would imagine you tread
I don't want to say tread lightly, even though this
is familiar for him. You tread lightly. You left your home,
you come back, somebody painted a different color. You gotta
paint it again. But you also have to just to
what they put in your home. Right, So he's coming
back here, and while his presence alone will just start
(01:19:43):
to take shape, it'll be automatic because some guys don't
have to beg for leadership. It just kind of finds
them and will him. But you also, when you waltz
into it, there's this part of I don't want to
say that you're back off and your passive aggressive that's
not his personality. But also to where you want your
teammates to know coming here to disrupt choose sure, and
then they will make sure that you're weaved into a
(01:20:06):
month down the road where this is back to being
the guy who who was leading them and being their
front man for quite some time. Real quick. Here a
guy named Jesse Peyton yesterday shared this.
Speaker 1 (01:20:17):
Correa leaving Houston and getting a huge deal in Minnesota,
then coming home while the while the Twins are paying
a chunk of his salary is like your wife divorcing
you remarrying another dude, taking his truck, closed tools and
bringing them.
Speaker 3 (01:20:29):
Back to you. The astros are that you know what's
of the MLB, go ahead? Oh do you want to finish?
Speaker 10 (01:20:41):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:20:42):
No, no, I'm just saying that you know it's FCC.
Don't don't know if, I don't know if I can
go with it, but you can't.
Speaker 3 (01:20:47):
But I know where you're going now. Oh well, hey,
everybody else's problem see it at the ballpark? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:20:55):
I think Carl speaking of people who have problems, I
think Carl and Parland wants to talk about one. And
I'm fired up the rail on that guy. Is Carl
coming out for you? Not not on Carl who he
wants to talk about? Oh, Carl, who he wants who
Carl wants to discussing.
Speaker 10 (01:21:09):
Go.
Speaker 3 (01:21:09):
I can't wait till light o'clock. There you go. Eight
o'clock hour is upon US. Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 9 (01:21:15):
Kbm E Houston, add HD two Houston, an iHeart radio station.
The Astross, the Rockets, Rockets Fall, your home for your
home teams. This is Sports Talk seven ninety from the
Parsons that match in next studios saulsby Olsbury, Houston.
Speaker 3 (01:21:40):
Okay, let's do this.
Speaker 1 (01:21:41):
Sean Salisbury.
Speaker 2 (01:21:45):
To usc true longtime friend Shawn Salisbury.
Speaker 1 (01:21:47):
Dan Matthews ecues. This is the Sean Salisbury Show. Astros
at the trade deadline. They just miss out out on
Dylan Seas and Pete Fairbanks, but see if they can
get those guys in the offseason. Strows by the way
in Boston taking on the Red Sox series starts up tonight.
(01:22:09):
Let's squeeze it as many of you as we can
before we hit row Flow because I know he's on
a tight schedule this morning, so we'll catch up with
him in about ten minutes Carl apparently, and get us
started here.
Speaker 3 (01:22:20):
Hey, how you guys doing to day? What's man?
Speaker 16 (01:22:24):
I always listened to this show. I'm seventy eight year
old born and raised in Liberty, Texas. So I was
always forty five minutes away from all the Houston sports
games of support them all my life. Anyway, at four
o'clock this morning, I was listening to the show that
comes on seven ninety before y'all do. And boy didn't
(01:22:46):
speak too highly of the Houston trade. And I'm just
gonna let you know, he'd be grading the teams, you know,
giving everybody a grade on down. He got to Houston
and he didn't even call him the astro Houston asshole.
And he he said, yeah, they traded for a washed
up Carlos Korea, and that's about all he said. And
(01:23:08):
then he went on to the next team. But I
was I was shocked that he, you know, thought slowly
of the trade.
Speaker 3 (01:23:16):
Well, I can tell you this that that if he
would have went to a if Carlos would have went
to a team that did your did this person supports?
I mean that if he loved the team Korea went
to for that price that we got him for here,
he would have said, what a great get because we
didn't have to pay much and Crea still got baseball
left in him. It's a it's just the visual of
different types of glasses, of what you see through that
(01:23:38):
kaleidoscope is different.
Speaker 1 (01:23:39):
Carl, Yeah, I know who you're talking about. We all
know who you're talking about. The name will not be mentioned.
He's a prop kind. I mean, Gallagher could only smash
so many watermelons. And I know that's a dated reference
for some. But this guy has no discernible talent, so
he has to continuously bang this same topic every single time.
Speaker 3 (01:24:01):
And he knows that he's on here in Houston, so
he knows.
Speaker 1 (01:24:03):
That he's gonna get a reaction from people because most
of us are tired of it. I think most of
us are also to the point where it's just like, oh,
bang the trash can Okay, great, we've heard that before.
That guy honestly should open up his window and yell
outside to people. He would reach more people that way.
He's on overnights for a reason. He'll stay on overnights
for a reason. He can't do this day part. He
(01:24:25):
can't do Matt Thomas and Rossville Real's day part. He
can't do Adam and Adams day part. Why because he
has no discernible talent to actually get people to tune
in and listen to him on a regular basis, So
keep killing it from two to six am in the morning.
Speaker 3 (01:24:39):
You're doing awesome.
Speaker 16 (01:24:41):
Yeah, I'm really okay.
Speaker 3 (01:24:44):
But you know what he'd said, thank you, Carl. I
appreciate Carl, appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (01:24:48):
I mean, it's it's it's again, it's it's you want
to you want to continue to do the same old bits.
Speaker 3 (01:24:53):
Then there's a reason to know who you're talking about.
But regardless, if you're still leaning on that, which I
see here you go cheaters again, it's like we're so
far removed from that, and it's it's it's it's pathetic.
But you know what, if you're not laughing at it now,
then mean meaning it's like, okay, thanks boy, whoo you
got me on that one. There's enough.
Speaker 1 (01:25:13):
There's a reason why comics who used to sell out
arenas are now starting to do side rooms. This guy
has been in a side room for the longest time,
and he'll stay in a side room because nobody wants
to hear it.
Speaker 3 (01:25:25):
Nobody cares. There's got to be something more out there
than leaning on that all the time. Correct, Well, I
mean are a race issue and len a gender issue.
And now the trash can issue. It will never go
away if it for a reason, right, if they win
this year, you know what, the narrative for some are
going to be, Oh yeah, I know they're going to search, well,
did you hear something? What was that banging noise in
(01:25:46):
the background. We already know it's coming. And you know what,
the truth is, nothing bothers people more than when you
don't address it or you laugh at it and just
blow off. Instead.
Speaker 1 (01:25:54):
They're looking for banter. I I just don't give it
to them. Duke al Bama, the Patriots, any of those teams.
What do they all have in common? Hey, let everybody
else bitch about it. We don't care.
Speaker 3 (01:26:06):
You want to hate us, Hey, I don't even address it.
There's your reason. Of course, success breeds jealousy breeds hate
and go. It's no question. And the sooner any of
us in our life are in our careers figure it
out once again, I'll say it if they if they're not.
If you knew how quickly people forgot about you and
(01:26:27):
moved on from you, you wouldn't care what they said.
Why you are alive? Talk about when you die. When
you're alive, it's the same thing here. Do we really
care what some radio host thinks or some TV analyst thinks,
because guess what sitting there with a golf shirt on,
he ain't hit no fastballs. Have at it, buddy, I
don't get it never decides what you're doing as a team.
(01:26:51):
At least it shouldn't. If it does, then your too
mentally weak. And this team's not mentally weak. It steke,
It stinks of being disingenuous, because again, if you can't
create content and you can't be able to find ways
to engage your audience, either positively or negatively, because look,
that's the job here, and I understand it. And sometimes
I'll say things in this microphone you're not going to
agree with.
Speaker 1 (01:27:11):
It's okay, But one thing I am going to give
an absolute honest response for to the audience. And I
probably didn't set that up right, but it's neither here
nor there. I'm not going to say anything that I
don't believe.
Speaker 3 (01:27:23):
When the day comes that I have to spew hot takes,
meaning say stuff that I don't believe. I'm not now
we joke about music and all that stuff that it's
the greatest that the truth about when the day comes
that I have to do that. I'm either told to
do that, create instead of report and discuss hardcore Opinion's fine,
(01:27:43):
let's say stuff that I wouldn't even know how to
defend something. I mean, you're like a product. I wouldn't
even know how to defend something other than BS you.
If I was talking about something I didn't believe, I
wouldn't know how to do it. Now, I believe in
a lot of things that other people may say no
and I disagree, and that's okay. I don't have problem
with that. But I think you're fraudulent.
Speaker 13 (01:28:03):
I do.
Speaker 3 (01:28:03):
I think you're fraudulent if you say something on TV
or radio just to get a reaction, and once in
a while, I know people do it as they tease
it to get WHOA. I'm fired up. I'm talking about
a true, deep down in your soul opinion, and it's
just you're saying just to get a reaction in our job.
To me, I think you're fraudulent and you instantly lose
(01:28:25):
credibility with me, and I won't do that. I'll quit
before I ever have to do that. I just won't
do it. It's just passion is different than a hot take.
Passion on what you believe means it's in your soul
and you believe it. Hot takes are in your meeting
before a TV show. You're saying, I'll take the other side, man,
I can sell that big time.
Speaker 1 (01:28:41):
Kind of reminds me of a saying that I heard
Marty Smith tell somebody wants can't hot talent?
Speaker 3 (01:28:46):
Brother, you can't? And you know in that accent, can
hot talent brochure can't.
Speaker 1 (01:28:50):
We got a couple more miss Let's get to Sheen
and Aggie Douglas. All right, let's bring in Sheena first.
Sheena real quick here before we get to row.
Speaker 17 (01:28:57):
Flow and then why to get y'all's opinion on something.
Speaker 3 (01:29:03):
Couple comming the phone lines, she tell you what so
road Flow's coming up back at eight thirty. Yeah, yeah,
so we'll get to you. Doug Brandon cut out. The
connection was bad. We couldn't hear what you were saying. Yeah,
but do call back because it's say your passionate opinion.
We'll get that at the bottom of the hour. There
you go, Row Flow MLB Network.
Speaker 1 (01:29:23):
Next, let the celebration start war Sean Salisbury. It's a
Sean Salisbury show. An interesting venue today for MLB Central,
the show that he's part of with d Row, Lauren
Shahati and the crew for MLB Network.
Speaker 3 (01:29:40):
Robert Flores joins us flow appreciate it, buddy.
Speaker 1 (01:29:44):
So you're watching yesterday, you guys were doing the show
all of those things. As the trade deadline's going along,
I mean, what are your thoughts as you know you're
waiting for the Korea trade, you're waiting for all these
other deals. What are your thoughts as it's all playing out?
Speaker 13 (01:30:00):
I thought, first we're gonna get either Dylan Sees or
Sandy Alcantra. I did not think that the Korean duel
was going to happen because I just thought it was
too complicated in terms of how much money the twins
would would give and send over to the astros. But
I'll be damned they pull it.
Speaker 3 (01:30:19):
Off, Robert, and pull it off at a at a
price that's right, good gracious to be able to get him.
And just just from your visuals you watch every single day,
how much baseball? What do we expect to see from Korea? Offensively?
Speaker 13 (01:30:34):
Yeah, that's the thing. John is like, It's it's interesting,
right because you know he's had some tough luck gifting injuries, right,
and he'll be the first to tell you, Hey, I
just wasn't able to perform at my best. But look,
you know, and I don't think it should be understated
what it's like to come back to a place that
you're familiar with, where you've had success. And I think
(01:30:56):
that's gonna do wonders for Carlos, and I think it's
going to do wonders for the rest of that club house.
Whether or not Carlos is going to look like he
did in uh, you know when he left, you know,
in twenty twenty three, I don't know, but I think
he can help them, and I think he can help
them a lot again.
Speaker 1 (01:31:14):
Robert Flores MLB Network Houston guy joined us here on
the Sean Salisbury Show, and I mean, you know, with
that deal, a lot of you know, what's gone unnoticed
here is being able to pick up the left hand
at bat and Jesus Sanchez and then also to utility
player in ramon Arias. For some that might not know
(01:31:34):
a ton about those guys, what are the Astros adding well?
Speaker 13 (01:31:38):
For jes Sanchez, I mean, this guy has some prodigious
pop from the left hand side, but it's it's hasn't
been as consistent as he would like or what the
Marlins would like. But I feel pretty confident that the
Astros have the kind of organization where oftentimes guys will
get into their into their building, into their clubhouse, and
(01:31:59):
maybe better. I think that is that is the hope,
because you don't know what Jordan Alvarez is going to
look like if and when he comes back, So they
need some left handed hitting, and they need some left
handed hitting power. Ramon Ludias is a guy that mostly
third base, but I was looking at his numbers and
(01:32:20):
his stat line. He's played a little bit of second base,
so you're covered there. He is an excellent defender and
he can come up to the big hit every now
and then. So I think the type of need he's
a winning player. It's an under the radar move. Jesus
Sanchez for me, could be that X factor.
Speaker 3 (01:32:39):
All right, take me back to the All Star break, Robert,
your thoughts on was this a World Series team in
your mind? Then as they sit injuries, the whole thing,
and now your narrative, well, are you are you different?
Is there a major shift in the way you feel
or is it pretty much the same.
Speaker 13 (01:32:57):
Well, at the All Star break, I did not say
that they were they were a World Series team because
of all the injuries like you mentioned. However, you then
add some of those players back into the pole, that's huge.
I think. I'm we just have to see what the
injured starters look like once they come back. I want
(01:33:19):
to know what Arra getting looks like. What is mccullor
going to give you, What is Christian how the air going.
Speaker 3 (01:33:25):
To look like?
Speaker 13 (01:33:26):
And what's he going to to give me? So I
think that potentially there's that word to get. Potentially this
is a team capable of a DEAs none, but there's
still so many question marks because there's still so many
players that are out.
Speaker 3 (01:33:40):
And Robert you know, normally at this time of year
as we start to head now in the final fifty games,
that they went from a marathon to the eight hundred
meter and we're almost to the sprint, right the four
by one hundred. Well, with this and the Astros and
these moves and getting healthy, maybe I'm wrong, Maybe we
get this every year, but there's like a bunch of
teams in the American League say Toronto could win it. Well,
(01:34:02):
the Rangers got great pitching and they can rake. And
then look what Seattle's done to get power. And oh
there's Detroit with their great pitching staff and they upgraded yesterday.
So my point is, if you're the sixth team in
the American League or the fifth team, you got a
legitimate run. So this is wide open where there are
some big powerhouses in the National League. Hell, Team five
can win the World Series or get there in the
(01:34:23):
American League. Correct, no doubt.
Speaker 19 (01:34:25):
This is a year.
Speaker 13 (01:34:27):
I would say this is a year where maybe seven
to ten, maybe even a little bit more could win
the whole team. As you said, the Bluegates could win it,
The Dodgers certainly could win it, The Padres, the Filly,
the Mets, the Rangers could win it. All the Mariners
could win it.
Speaker 8 (01:34:46):
And they all.
Speaker 3 (01:34:46):
Upgraded, Robert, right, All those teams you just mentioned got
better yesterday.
Speaker 13 (01:34:51):
Yes they did. The Astros did get better as well.
And what are they going to look like once they're
injured players come back? We know that the is not
coming back this year. Is Jordne coming back this year?
And if so, what's he gonna look like? What Barragetti
gonna give the active we Kriston Javier going to get
the accurate. So there's a lot of still up in
(01:35:14):
the air with Houston, but you're right there is it.
It's a it's wide open, I would say, but the
National League is wide open, but it's tougher, and the
American League is really wide open any one of the
there's a handful of teams of the al that could
have done it all again.
Speaker 1 (01:35:29):
Every single morning you see him on MLB Central with
the crew there over at MLB Network, he's Robert Flores
and he joins us here on the Shawn Salisbury Show. Robert,
I mean, you know, talking about the Rangers, I know
that you were high on them coming into the season.
The Mariners too. They both is we've pointed out they
both upgraded. Do you think that they added enough to
be able to put a scare into the Astros to
(01:35:52):
believe that maybe they could overtake him?
Speaker 13 (01:35:54):
Oh yeah, definitely. The Mariners on paper are significantly better offensives.
Their lineup is deeps. I mean, you add Florreg and
you add Jack Moler, that lineups becomes very interesting, very powerful,
and very deep. The Texas rang during I had them
winning the division before the season because I love their pitching.
(01:36:17):
Their part has been offensively I mean set aside for
re Seeder, it's been a real struggle for the main
view Goldie Starcia, Marcus Simiti. But you're starting to see
those guys in particular and turning around a little bit.
So yes, I believe what's the lead for the actinal
right now? In the Division five games? Sorry, I was
(01:36:38):
traveling all there four and a half last night. Half
four and a half is nothing, guys, if you're the Astros,
you'd rather be up four and a half than Jack
four and a half. Sure, but really they are. I
mean this thing, there's still a long way to go,
and this thing.
Speaker 3 (01:36:54):
Is far from being decided in the way, Robert, let
me step out front, and Dana Brown did a hell
of a job yesterday because he did mortgage the future
to make a desperate move for this year. Yet they
got three good players, as you had mentioned, and they
still got all these top prospects. Let me move forward
to next year, just for the hell of it. Your
thoughts today on what you've seen from fromber this year
(01:37:14):
and the body of work. Would you pay him and
keep him here next year as a free agent?
Speaker 13 (01:37:19):
YEA time? Well, Am I using my money or am
I using Jim Creen?
Speaker 3 (01:37:23):
Well, you know what, give me both. Give me what
you think mister Crane will do. And if you had
the money, what would you do?
Speaker 13 (01:37:29):
If I had the money, I would pay him. I
feel pretty confident in saying Jim Crane and the Astros
are not going to pay romber Valdez. Romber Valdez will
be a free agent and he will go pitch for
another team. What kind of success he will have, I
don't know. Mia guess is you'll be very good. You
can look at Max Freed's contract. What the Yankees gate
(01:37:52):
Max Freed? I believe that's two hundred and eighteen million.
And you can ask yourself as Jim, has Jim Crane
ever been a player two hundred and eighteen million?
Speaker 3 (01:38:01):
I think you've answered the question.
Speaker 13 (01:38:04):
So and look, I want to I want to preface
this by saying things change all the time in negotiations.
Speaker 8 (01:38:13):
Let bridge it.
Speaker 13 (01:38:13):
It changes. But as we sit right now, Frombert, I
feel confident in saying fromber Valdez will not be a
U Spin Astro year.
Speaker 1 (01:38:23):
Again, Robert Flores says, quite a bit left hand and
Roberts got the right idea, too. If it's somebody else's
you know, who knows, But if it's yours, yeah, but
who of the teams? And and maybe it is just
a team that that did you look at yesterday and
say what are you doing?
Speaker 3 (01:38:42):
Man? Like, are you guys going for this or not?
Speaker 17 (01:38:47):
Uh?
Speaker 13 (01:38:48):
I kind of feel like igo Cubs, Maybe I would.
I thought that they would have been a little bit
more aggressive, especially in the starting pitching market. I thought
Sandy Aldontra in addition to being a great fit for
the Astros, I thought he would have been a great
fit for the Chicago Cubs. Uh, the player like Aldonza,
(01:39:11):
the price was going to be high. Two reasons it's three.
One he's a former cy young winner. Two he looked
better in his recent starts, and three he's got a
very favorable contract until he's a free agent. So maybe
the price of Tulture was too high. But I thought
the Cubs for me, could have done could have done
a little bit more.
Speaker 3 (01:39:32):
Robert, we know you got to go. You got about
thirty seconds. But answer this as quick as you can
because you're involved in this stuff when it comes to
the collective bargaining a couple of years. Wait, are they
going to get a salary cap or are we looking
at a work stoppage?
Speaker 13 (01:39:47):
Those are those are questions well above my pay grade.
Speaker 3 (01:39:52):
But what ten million a year? You are you already
make it ten million year brother, How could that be
above your pay grade?
Speaker 13 (01:39:58):
Hey, hey, I'll settle for one now.
Speaker 3 (01:40:00):
There you go on.
Speaker 13 (01:40:01):
But I will say this, Uh, there's very smart people
on both sides that are working hard to try to
figure it out. The game is in a great place.
Attendance is up, ratings are up, Streaming numbers are up.
There's so many exciting players. We just detailed and talked
about maybe ten to thirteen teams right.
Speaker 1 (01:40:21):
Now that could win the World Series.
Speaker 13 (01:40:24):
So I'm sure that both sides recognize all that the
game has going for it, all the industry has going
for it, and they're going to do their best and
try to avoid all of that.
Speaker 1 (01:40:34):
Well, ro Flow, Now you got to get going, man,
because you guys are there at Bristol Motor Speedway. But
appreciate your time this morning and we'll be watching great stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:40:42):
Brother, enjoy, Thank you, Thank you very much.
Speaker 21 (01:40:45):
Guys.
Speaker 13 (01:40:45):
Have a great weekend.
Speaker 8 (01:40:46):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (01:40:47):
Robert Flores again, MLB Network say so, you know not
enough time to get to it. But if you're watching
MLB Network this morning, here to see Row Flow d
Row Lauren Shahati. They're there at Bristol Motors Speedway for
the game that's gonna be played there tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:41:02):
You're gonna have to hit the ball awfully far in
left field to get it to the fans if you
could hit a I mean, that's a tape measure job
in Bristol. I mean, that's going to be a pretty
cool setting. I know it looks a little different how
it's constructed, but I always like it when they go
to a venue like that.
Speaker 1 (01:41:20):
No, it's fine, dude, I just kind of think it's
cool now it is, I mean, just because it's it's
different than I mean, not to say that major league
ballparks are run of the mill, but it's just it's
something different, like when they do the Field of Dreams game.
But here's what I say to do for the team
that wins, is you got to set up like a
victory lane or even two. If there is one guy
that's a little you know, aggressive with the driving, let
(01:41:40):
them do you know, the the burnouts right there on
the field.
Speaker 3 (01:41:44):
Sixties do a bunch of three sixties. Yeah, it would
be awesome. You know, maybe that's in my like hey
pop it. Or you know, if there's a sometime you
invite a NASCAR guy, Yeah, you know what I'm saying
at Avocar where he's out there, he gets to get
in the front seat and celebrator. It just just somehow,
some way to weave in the well the venue where
(01:42:04):
you are other than just playing a baseball game be
pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (01:42:06):
That's why my favorite is Texas Motor Speedway. Like I
remembered a few years ago, Carl Edwards one, and they
used to let you fire off pistols. So he's like
up there, you know, Victory Laney, he's pow. I got
to ride with Jimmy Johnson. You know, doing stuff is
like a promotion. I was invited to ride with him.
Speaker 3 (01:42:22):
And if I have you been to Texas Motor Speedway,
I never have the the I'm talking about. You can't
appreciate on TV. The the the angle and the slant,
the degrees of the turn, of the straightaway and the turn. Dude,
it is when you're in a car, when you're sitting
sideways and stopped, you actually feel like you're gonna tip
(01:42:43):
over to your left. And I've said in in Jim Johnson,
Judy Johnson's drive and I don't know, we're going to
Buck eighty or whatever. And he's got one hand on
the wheel and I'm like, it's like, Jimmy, He's like
I got this, you know, Yeah, one that has lapped.
I'm like, no, my eyes are big up that because
I'm a thrill seeker, but I'm like it loo kind
of like I'll take him driving. Yeah, you just feel like, man,
(01:43:05):
one false mood to left and it's gonna tip over.
You can't appreciate the degrees of that grade unless you're
on it on TV. But in person, it's one thing.
And then you're in the car you're saying, how do
these guys do this? And every turn they make is
life depending right. I mean they're running in there, you know,
you're drafting and doing all those things. It's just impressive.
(01:43:25):
So when you mentioned I'm like, man, it's really really
cool when you see it. But that's a what a
great venue that is.
Speaker 1 (01:43:32):
It's an It's the ultimate in person event is NASCAR
Auto racing. But NASCAR very first racer ever went to
was Bristol or not Bristol was Talladega. Sorry, went to Talladega.
So one of like the ones that's you know, known
the most. I mean, god, they made a movie about it.
Speaker 3 (01:43:51):
And I'm gonna valid we got to go to break
I know, I'm gonna validate exactly what you're saying because
I was able to go to Daytona and I was
also able to go to the Indy five hundred yep.
And you want to talk about spectacles, and you can,
and then you sit down there if you're fortunate, and
I was fortunate to be in Buddy Buddy Lazier's pit
crudity Indy five hundred and dude, just to listen and
the talk and the end today and your dad, it's like,
(01:44:12):
this is I understand why people want to own rac
and I can be into it even if you weren't
into it growing I've always loved it. My respect for
those guys. And you watch around turn four when you're
looking down from the pit and you see them and
they're inches away from that wall pumping it at a
couple hundred or close to a couple hundred miles, and
it's like crazy, but it's a I know people know
that I'm Captain Obvish. But when you're down there, it's
(01:44:32):
like this is a spectacle and it is is good
because it's not just to win the race. The strategy
and what goes with one wrong move doesn't pull a hamstring,
if you know what I'm saying. So my ultimate respect
for those guys, and I think, man, I remember some
of those guys started in a go kart and now
they're driving two hundred miles an hour around turn four.
Speaker 1 (01:44:52):
And goosebumps moment is the first when whenever the cars
get to really open it up, pace car drives off,
the crowds starts getting loud, and then you know, easter,
the engines get even louder. Oh yeah, because they're red
and they start going. And then the first time they
come around, you could be thirty rows back. You can
be right up against the fence. You're going to feel
(01:45:12):
just a massive, just draft of air.
Speaker 3 (01:45:15):
It is wow factor moments, sautly if you don't even
know if like it, just go for the spectacle. It's awesome,
no doubt, now for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:45:22):
All right, we'll get back to some of you on
the phone line seven one three two one two five
seven nine. You got a couple of them open for
you out there, so hit us up, but appreciate Robert
Flores for his with us, and we'll continue post trade
deadline right here.
Speaker 3 (01:45:35):
Sean Salisbury show. Hey, affordability is the biggest problem in
today's car market. Now think about that. We're talking about
Hell's houses are one thing, but when we're talking about
affordability for a vehicle, yeah, and it is a problem,
but you deserve better. And new vehicles average forty eight
thousand dollars and most people's wages just haven't kept up
and that's a bummer. And we don't want to walk
(01:45:55):
ten miles to work, do we. So that's why some
are stuck with the seven your loan stuff the expensive
and got to stretch it out so they can afford
the payments just to make those payments work. At DNM Leasing,
we're going to solve that problem with the easy lease.
That's easy lease offering lower monthly payments, which is music
to all our ears. No money down and terms that
(01:46:18):
makes sense. I don't care if you're a billionaire. It's
a principle of spending that kind of money on a
vehicle and easy Lease is gonna help it. So jump
on into it. Lower payments and no money down. That's
as good as music to your ears as you'll ever hear.
Don't overpay. Solve the payment problem. Visit dmauto leasing dot com.
It's dmauto leasing dot com. Don't you deserve a little
(01:46:41):
bit better? And if you want a lot better, it's
DM Audo Leasing d mauto leasing dot com.
Speaker 1 (01:46:48):
And there the Sean Salisbury Show continues. Freedom Trail.
Speaker 3 (01:46:54):
How about that Mom is going to go to Fenway
for the first time and Cray is going to be there.
How about so how's that? It's almost like Gordy got
the you know, little side trip. Head out to the
Cape or wherever you're going, eat some of that good food,
get yourself the Freedom Trail, all the stuff. You're gonna do,
a little Boston tea party. And then bam, Correy is
showing up. And now you get a little reunion. So
you get three of the four in the same building
(01:47:16):
that were three of the four, the four horsemen, and
here we are and he's there.
Speaker 1 (01:47:20):
Well, the only thing I asked now off Gordy is
when he joins us on Tuesday, is that he's dressed
like Paul Revere. Oh that's what you want, Yeah, I
want him to bring us a hat.
Speaker 3 (01:47:29):
Well, yeah, and I'm not sure there's any more room
for a hat from that organization in my my closet
unless it's ad. I'm not you know what I'm gonna say.
So not popular, flat brim hats overrated? Oh wow, you're
a flat brim guy. Then I guess I'm overrated. And
I wear them. Don't mis understand me. I wear them.
(01:47:49):
But if I said, okay, if you have to wear
a hat the rest of your life, you curved to
flat the whole the rest of them you are.
Speaker 1 (01:47:54):
Yeah, why, I just say it's the way I wore
it when I when I played baseball. And it's also
too I like being able to see out of both.
Speaker 3 (01:48:01):
The curve bothers you a little bit on proof.
Speaker 1 (01:48:03):
And it's also to you like if you if you
go sunglasses the curve bill it's a little harder.
Speaker 3 (01:48:07):
Then you got to like eat it off. Yeah, it's
just it's it's well, you're you're more people gonna lean
on you, I think, And it has nothing to do
well they're going to because it has nothing to do
with with with age or that, because I dude, I
just love hats. It doesn't matter. And I've got flat
brim hats that I love. But the curve that just well,
it's easier to me to manhandle, right, Does that make
(01:48:27):
sense for sure?
Speaker 8 (01:48:28):
You?
Speaker 3 (01:48:28):
So you think more people lean to me that triple?
Are you a flat brimmer or a curve brim guy? Curve?
Speaker 1 (01:48:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:48:34):
Yeah, so I I am too. Like I said, I
got flat brim. But if I were to go and like,
let's say, buy a golf hat right now, it wouldn't
be a flat brim. It would be a curved brim hat.
Speaker 1 (01:48:44):
See golf golf hats too, Like I love like when
the flat brims came in, When Anthony Kim some of
those guys started wearing them that way, I was like,
I like that one.
Speaker 3 (01:48:52):
That's just to see the opposite. For me, the flat
brim sticks out so far, I feel like that's impeding
my vision. See, But the problem is curved for a
guy like me though too. You know I've got a.
Speaker 1 (01:49:02):
A little bigger head. Yeah, I'm a seven and a half,
so I got a cranium.
Speaker 3 (01:49:06):
It would probably, yeah, I would think that you And
that makes a good point by you, A curve brim
probably feels like your head's outside the hat. I don't
mean a derogatory, but some guys would beg head. But
I get your point, dude, I got news for it.
Nobody the only guy close to Boach when it comes
to headside that I've been around. There's soup bowls that
don't even know Boach. Let me tell you something. When
you ask Boach if you got a bowl of soup
(01:49:27):
with that haircut, you said, did you get a dog
on trash can with that haircut? Okay? And I've been
fortunate to be around him in person for a long time.
Speaker 13 (01:49:37):
And O. J.
Speaker 3 (01:49:38):
Simpson, dude, oh yeah, he had a melon mellon. Why
do you think he was a downhill runner? The head
tilted first.
Speaker 8 (01:49:46):
Dude.
Speaker 3 (01:49:46):
His head comes into the building four days before the
rest of his body does. I'm talking about it. A
big ass force God rest his soul, but a force
life toaster head. Now, Boach has got a dresser head, Dude,
I'm telling you right now, it's for dressers. From what's
that ikea? You put it together and he knows it.
Don't misunderstand me. He's the guy that they He's a
(01:50:07):
guy that has to add tape to the back of
the to the back of the thing because it doesn't
I don't know, there's no doubt. You know the guy
like who has like shack or bobble and ere sis
twenty two foot, he's the guy with boats that you
have to say, that's a big brain, no doubt, and
he embraced it. But I said, he's the guy who said, boach,
what size?
Speaker 17 (01:50:26):
Hell?
Speaker 3 (01:50:27):
How do you We don't make nine and the third
hats in baseball, so the custom hats for you, get
the pine tar all over to do what it is
you do. But I'm telling you, dude, yeah, you're right.
Flat brims probably fit better for guys that have a
little bigger head. And dude, you'll dude, your head's twice
as small as bochies.
Speaker 1 (01:50:45):
It was like, you know, high school baseball problems that
if you know varsity, you got the fitted hat and
if you didn't have the twenty bucks to be able
to buy a new one, eventually you had to.
Speaker 3 (01:50:55):
Cut the back of it. Oh yeah, no doubt. Get
the sena real quick again. And then we'll get to
Brandon Gill and Aggie doug Is, well you know it.
Sheina wants to weigh in. Sheena good morning, Hi, good morning.
Speaker 22 (01:51:05):
Can y'all hear me this time? Perfect?
Speaker 13 (01:51:09):
All right?
Speaker 17 (01:51:10):
So, first of all, I'm definitely with y'all curved, curved
brimd hat. I cannot do the flat brimmed hat, don't.
Speaker 3 (01:51:17):
I'll wear it for all three of us.
Speaker 22 (01:51:20):
So so yeah, I've whin on that.
Speaker 17 (01:51:23):
But you know, just calling in, weighing in on the
trades and such. Definitely give us a A for a
grade yesterday. I mean I was, you know, bad breath
all day. We're figuring out what was going to happen.
And are we better than we were two days ago?
Speaker 22 (01:51:38):
Yes? Much better.
Speaker 17 (01:51:40):
We needed to fill that third base spot with the
bad news on pretas other than somebody just coming up
from sugar Land.
Speaker 3 (01:51:48):
And it was cheaper for you, right, I mean you
had you were a little worried about what you'd have
to give it, but now that you've gotten for that price,
you probably had to love that, right.
Speaker 17 (01:51:56):
Well, I do and don't, and that that's one thing
I wanted to get to Korea. You know, we're still
it's still gonna be about he's got three more years
guaranteed after this year, and it's gonna be about twenty
million a year. This year, just looking at this year,
he is not a twenty million per year valued player.
He's got an ops plus of I think like ninety two. Yep,
(01:52:21):
he's got seven home runs out over ninety games. Last
year he only played eighty six games because of injuries,
but he had eighteen home runs. His win what is
it win probability added, which I always think of that
as like the war for just offense is like negative two.
So you know, he's got the potential to be a
twenty million dollars a year player. I still think he's
(01:52:43):
got that in him. I'm hoping coming back to Houston
and Dyken will revitalize that he's got leadership. But you know,
this year his numbers have not reflected a twenty million
dollar value at all. So you know, do these numbers
in a lot of those categories are better right now?
I was very excited about Sanchez, you know, on paper,
(01:53:06):
just comparing the two, I think that's the one to
be more excited about right now.
Speaker 22 (01:53:10):
So he's got you know, he's got popping his back.
He's a lefty. The one thing that I was wondering,
And don't get me.
Speaker 17 (01:53:17):
Wrong, I'm very excited to have Corea back, So I've
just you know, want to put that out there. Do
I think we're a better team with him, Yes? Do
I think he has a We have a much better
chance with him to get to the postseason World Series
and win this thing.
Speaker 3 (01:53:32):
Yes, you think better this year, but you're a little
concerned about the money moving forward and a loaded position
moving forward.
Speaker 22 (01:53:37):
And that's what my question to you guys was going
to be.
Speaker 17 (01:53:41):
I thought Peretti's was farther along as contract and this
was his first arbitration year.
Speaker 22 (01:53:45):
Then you've got.
Speaker 17 (01:53:48):
Penya who has next year and then he's a free agent,
and now you've got Korea. Penya has Boris as a
as an agent. If we don't get close on an
extent and talks this off season, do we Paula Tucker
and trade Penya?
Speaker 3 (01:54:08):
Appreciate the call? I must, let's discuss that coming back,
and we'll get to our callers too. It makes a
It makes a I'll put it this way. You've got
yourself some value there to make it use as an asset.
There's nuther one for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:54:21):
There's that, and then also to optimism for Korea, that
that is something that you know, I was thinking about
as Sheen was talking even before the show.
Speaker 3 (01:54:30):
We'll share all of that. Get you all involved. You
want to join them.
Speaker 1 (01:54:33):
Someone three two one two five seven ninety against someone
three two one two five seven ninety Sean Salisbury Show,
Sports Talk seven ninety Coach Sark here, touchdown Texas. You've
got Sports Talk seven ninety, Houston's home of longhornor football.
Speaker 13 (01:54:48):
Back to the Shawn Salisbury Show.
Speaker 1 (01:54:52):
Someone three two one two five seven ninety. We had
a couple of thoughts, so we've got a full board here.
It just real quick the thoughts unless or do you
want to get to them?
Speaker 3 (01:55:03):
Well thoughts on.
Speaker 1 (01:55:05):
So, by the way, Payinia twenty seven yea, so still
arbitration eligible.
Speaker 3 (01:55:10):
So he's good, not going anywhere, and I'm not going
to borrow that trouble until I got to deal with it,
so that we'll deal with that, and Scott Boris is
going to get what's best for his client. And I
don't think as we sit now, Paya has any intention
of playing anywhere else, But as in any player in
any organization, we'll see right now. I'm not worried about
fromber comes first and we'll deal with that next off season.
Or should I say this offseason, but in a couple
(01:55:32):
of months right now. To me, it's what Dana Brown
the Astlers are doing for this team getting healthy, went
out and got three cats that are going to help
for quite frankly, and while like all the respect in
the world to Ryan Gusto, the truth of the matter
is they want every step of this trade.
Speaker 1 (01:55:46):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:55:46):
It's just now you've got to go perform like it is.
You still got to show up and play, and they will.
You got power on the left side everyday left fielder.
You've got versatility on the infield, and you got Carlos
Korea who could Hell, if you needed to Korea to
play first base for three days, he could because he's
that type of player. I don't expect his glove to
suffer one bit over there, and maybe his bat livens
up because well, this is home for you know what
(01:56:08):
it was, Minnesota was nothing but a rental. I don't
mean it disrespectful to Minnesota, but it was nothing. But
I got to go. It's the timing of it. But no,
Burge was no bridge was burned either way, and he
brings great leadership if nothing else, presence matters. Now performance
will obviously help them. So that's what it is for me.
I'm not worried about. The good problem to have is
(01:56:29):
think about what we've been complaining about the whole time.
We need bodies, more bodies, the healthy bodies, and now
as they start to get healthy, I'll worry about dealing
with the parades. Pain. You deal later. Paradis in his
contract when it's time, PAINI and his deal when it's time,
I'll deal right now. It's win this thing, get guys
(01:56:49):
healthy when this thing and then Frombert we'll have plenty
to talk about with Fromber when it comes to free agency.
He's a premium left hander, but it's going to be
expensive that that's the facts, because he's going to be
one of he's one of the top left handers of
pitchers in baseball. So I'm looking forward to But that's
my thoughts. I think the Astros got better, and Dana
Brown has made that commitment, asked that Jim Crane and
he did exactly what he said he was going to do,
(01:57:12):
make the roster better. If that's what it took.
Speaker 1 (01:57:13):
And you can't tell me it's not like the group
needed the morale boost, but that this is not a
morale boost to that clubhouse. This is, this is twenty
seventeen when you went out and got JV.
Speaker 3 (01:57:22):
And I'll tell you another thing. This is and then
and when it performs like Verlander. Look what did the catapulta?
Speaker 22 (01:57:27):
Look?
Speaker 3 (01:57:27):
And if he performs like Verlander did, then we're in
real good shape here in Houston. I can tell you this.
Pregame speeches and players only meetings. Teams that continue to
do that are lost, dude, that is a I think
it's a loser's lament to win, and doubt let's kind
of a pregame. Let's have a players or players only
where those are regular. Once in a while they work.
(01:57:49):
But I've been I've been into him most of the time,
and I'm telling you, Dan, the second you walk out
and get punched in the mouth, that players only me
means nothing because usually it's a bitch fest. Now, some
teams handle him better, But what is that's not a
players players only or a pregame speech. Pregame speeches can
be overrated too, depending on who's given him. It's the presence.
He didn't have to say anything. Now I'm sure he
(01:58:09):
will because he's a verbal leader as well as a
production guy. When he's here, you don't have to, and
that's that energy shot. It's like, okay, dude. I've been
on teams where we've got traded for a guy it's like, man,
we're going or a guy got healthy, and it's like, okay,
there's just a different feel, and he ain't gonna have
to force the field. See, I've seen guys who force
leadership and then you know, damn well, it's fraudulent. This
(01:58:30):
is not for this is who he is. So just
that alone, and you're in a ball for hell at
Fenway Park, battling for first I mean staying in first place,
battling the Red Sox in an iconic venue. Corren in
the house, the trades in the house. Bregman's on the
other team. You're still trying to continue to extend your lead.
How in the world do you not like what we're
about to face the rest of this season? This is
(01:58:51):
freakin' epic and I can't wait to see it all
of you. The full board, you're coming up right here.
Speaker 1 (01:58:57):
It is a Sean Salisbury show on a post trade
deadline Friday, Sports Talk seven ninety kd E Houston, k
t V HD two Houston, My heart radio station.
Speaker 3 (01:59:08):
Yes as a rocket.
Speaker 1 (01:59:13):
This is Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 9 (01:59:15):
Your home for your home teams from the Parsons that
Matchine Next Studios, Saulsbury, Oldysbury, Houston.
Speaker 3 (01:59:29):
Okay, let's do this.
Speaker 1 (01:59:31):
Sewn Salisbury.
Speaker 2 (01:59:34):
To usc Troupes, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.
Speaker 1 (01:59:37):
Dan matthewscuse. This is the Seawan Salisbury Show in Carlos
Correa and Jesus Sanchez both astros at the deadline, and
I know a lot of you want to get in,
especially talking Korea, so we'll continue to do that right
here at seven one three, two, one two, five, seven
(01:59:59):
ninety Aggie Doug going to get the nine o'clock an
hour started.
Speaker 5 (02:00:02):
Good morning, Aggie, Doug, Tydy fellas, Hey, before I get
to my Dana Brown's sake, Uh, what's the what's the
main thing that we've been talking about with the astros
for at least the last two or three years. They
just don't have that dog anymore. They they just kind
of they're more business like, they're more buttoned up and
all that. And I feel like that that started to
(02:00:24):
happen whenever Carlos Correa left town. And that could because
he was always kind of that emotional guy, that getting
your face guy, I mean, dropping f bombs and telling
people to shut the f up if they don't know
what they're talking about about. The the trash hands and
all that. I mean, we just didn't have that vocal guy.
And I love Altuve, I love jord On, but they
(02:00:44):
just weren't those guys. Pregnant was more of a silent leader,
you know, more of a clubhouse guy. But I mean,
I just feel like when we when we pulled that
off for Carlos Correa, is like, we got that dude back,
and and I think that that's what this team needs
more than anything, because they just kind of flounder and
they just kind of I mean, hell, they got a
(02:01:05):
hashtag earlier this season going around zombie Astros because they
just keep coming at you that they don't really they
don't really do anything special, but they just keep winning games.
Speaker 12 (02:01:16):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (02:01:17):
But but it's also very boring.
Speaker 3 (02:01:19):
You know.
Speaker 5 (02:01:19):
So I'm just excited because I think he's gonna bring
I have no idea what he's gonna what he's gonna do,
but I'm gonna tell you. I'm gonna ask you one
question before we get to the Dana Brown stuff if
you could get two eighty ten home runs out of
each of the two guys Sanchez and Korea that you
traded for for the rest of the season, would.
Speaker 3 (02:01:40):
You take it massive? Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 13 (02:01:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:01:44):
And I don't think he knows the guys that he
had plugged it right that we traded. I don't think
any of those guys could give that to you. So
I think if we kind of set that bar, set
expectations and go, hey, if these guys are just middle
of the road, we're gonna be just fine.
Speaker 17 (02:01:58):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (02:01:58):
But dude, So this whole situation with fire Dana that's
been going around and all this that's been that we've
been doing with freaking years now, I'm just done with it, dude.
I'm just completely over it. It's like when it's like
when you look at Ah at a painting and and
it's like, you know, you're you're standing too close right,
(02:02:21):
Like I feel like ash those fans were in it
every day. We're kind of we we we see the
same guys go out and we're like, what's Dana doing?
Beautiful painting? You all of a sudden, go, man, that's gorgeous,
you know, And what Dana Brown has done the last
two years. Is is nothing short of gorgeous Kakuchi for
nothing when guys are being Will Wagner and Uh, I
(02:02:44):
believe the the Alfhelder that we traded they were both
shipped off in deals yesterday. Uh low Brafido hasn't done anything.
Speaker 12 (02:02:51):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (02:02:51):
I mean in addition to the guys that we got
that we traded off.
Speaker 3 (02:02:55):
For for the Hall that we got this year.
Speaker 5 (02:02:57):
I mean, the dude is a freaking wizard. So all
these people, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
If you even mention or think about Byron Dana Brown
are Joe's bond period point in discussion.
Speaker 1 (02:03:10):
Hey, I appreciate the call, Agi, Doug. I think with both,
you know, the manager and the GM two, it's a
little bit of a lot of Homerism for AJ Hinch
and for Jeff Luno and and these two guys, and
even Dusty before him, James Klick, I'm sure probably ran
into this too, where you're not Jeff Luno, you're not
aj Hinch, and you're never going to be those guys.
(02:03:33):
So I'm never going to believe that you can be
those guys. I think that is a fantastic we're going
to roll through just quickly. I think that's a fantastic
point by you, because Dusty can win a World Series
and it's almost like you would have said aj Hinch
could have won two in the same year.
Speaker 3 (02:03:49):
Flus miles with Nick saying, there's no question about listen all,
look what aj Hinch has done in Detroit. Of course,
good players help, but aj Hinch is a damn good man.
But you are one hundred percent correct. There's only one
reason why you would like Dana Brown or you wouldn't
want Joe Spata because you are Jeff Luno and aj hinching.
(02:04:09):
You can't get on and both of those guys were fantastic.
But life moves on, man, People change, people go. Then
do you hate George Springer? Do you want to fire
George spring Do you hate Alex Bregman? Do you hate
Carlos Craig. He's back point is is that if ver
Lander comes and goes a couple of times, sure, the
point is he's doing his gig. And I understand the comparisons,
(02:04:31):
but it's like every quarterback coming in the league, what
are we supposed to compare Every rookie is supposed to
play like c. J. Strouden and Jayden Daniels. No, that's
not the norm. It happens there every single quarterback. We
judge ah second year guy throws two picks and he's
not Patrick Mahomes. Well, Mahomes wasn't Mahomes in his rookie
because he didn't play but one game, so didn't start
with one game. The point is, and that is I
(02:04:52):
think I don't think it's just valid. I'm over it.
Like Aggie Doug suggesting, why cut off your nose to
spite your face because he's not giving you the medical
answers you want. He's not the one who's hurt a
job that he is supposed to do. He's done, and
he's done it extremely well. You can go ahead up
you're out there and want fire. I'd give his ass
a pay race. I think that's a Now. I don't
(02:05:14):
know his contract stabs, but Dana Brown has been fantastic
since he's been the GM. You can argue the injuries,
but he'd prefer to come on here and not have
to speak one thing about an injury that's not on
his there. We all want more transparency with injuries. You
don't get it in pro sports.
Speaker 1 (02:05:29):
Let's just say that Jim Crane was knee jerk and
ownership was knee jerk. And you did let the emotions
New York nick this thing and fire a coach like
Tom Thibodeau after you just reached the conference finals. Those
guys would be out of a job. They wouldn't even
get past the first interview of their next opportunity.
Speaker 3 (02:05:48):
Well, here's the difference. When's the last time the Nicks
won an NBA championship? I wouldn't even thought of yet. Okay,
So teams that do knee jerk, guess what end up
looking like jerks. Teams that are a little patient and
notices paying attention and slow it down. You gotta look
at it proper from the right angle. This this team
(02:06:10):
does a lot of good stuff and most of the
time it's spot on. And you can't control the injuries,
but you got to control how you deal with those injuries.
And this team's as good as anybody. He always says
about resilience and grit. But it's true. It's true, and.
Speaker 1 (02:06:24):
It's a fact, and it's not just because Aggie dug
called Then it's what I say to Aggie's all the
time about their football program. You really thought RC slogan
was that bad? Huh you've been chasing RC Slocem since
you fired R. C. Slocum. Yeah, and then it's well, no, no, no, no,
Now it's gonna finally work. We finally got the right
guy because we paid the most money for him. So
Jimbo Fisher is gonna work. Man Dennis Francioni's gonna work,
(02:06:46):
same deal, Kevin. Someone's gonna work. Johnny Manzel did. But
you get my point here. Excess one place doesn't guarantee
it elsewhere. Keep hiring and firing and think that winning
is just gonna be get itself because you finally got
the right guy. Maybe you will, and maybe you will
get lucky, and sometimes it does happen, but more often
than not, it's the other way that usually happens.
Speaker 3 (02:07:06):
I think that Dana Brown's is solidified security here. He's
earned it. He'll be president of Baseball Ops before he's
no longer general manager of the Astro. To me, it's
just a lazy went and O they didn't tell us
about you. Jordon's hurt, So it's Dana's fault, right, It
ain't Jordon's. It ain't Dana's threshold of pain. That's the problem.
Speaker 8 (02:07:28):
And I know.
Speaker 3 (02:07:30):
It's not lost on me, But what about about the
injuries in general? Don't you think he knows it is
not personals. The thing is he gets to be the
spokesperson for something he didn't want to speak on. Okay,
it's the truth. I mean, what's he supposed to say.
I've tried to tell people, yes, it's for us. Hell,
I've even peppered him with questions on it. It's like,
(02:07:50):
so wait a minute, you're saying in two weeks, no,
we don't know, and can you imagine that instead of
talking bout you have to talk about that stuff because
that's our job. And when people are asking him, like
the Robert for I have to do but listen, Dana
Brown wants to win, and data Brown, it's one thing
saying it. I need to see action. And guess what.
Since he's been here, we've seen action and I love it.
(02:08:11):
And this year's action was spectacular. And guess what, your
young players are still here to produce down the road.
Didn't get rid of any of them. I'm telling you,
and I know that the astros are listening. We can
pass the hat, but you start to get a lot
of these injured guys back. If Dana addresses any of
those injuries, lab Coat got to send them out there,
Labcoat and put it this way. If they were all
(02:08:32):
healthy and we and they had a four and a
half game lead, I've said it before, you'd be saying
this is sweet. Four and a half game, you know,
waltson with Individu. This is pro sports. You don't get
to win games by ten and twelve games every year.
This is the way it usually is in sports. And
for them to sustain this tells you that guys you
didn't think could help have helped. And that's a sign
(02:08:53):
of good scouting and good development period, both of smart decisions,
both of those things. He knows very well. Gil wants
to Wigi and Gil, good morning, Good morning.
Speaker 4 (02:09:03):
What's going on, Sean?
Speaker 3 (02:09:05):
How are you doing all good man? How are you buddy?
Speaker 12 (02:09:08):
Good?
Speaker 3 (02:09:08):
Good?
Speaker 23 (02:09:09):
So the Korean thing, I think it's great.
Speaker 16 (02:09:12):
Piece.
Speaker 23 (02:09:12):
I was pissed off when he left, but he when
he left, he said he got somebody to take his place.
Speaker 2 (02:09:17):
He bragged about Hini remember that.
Speaker 3 (02:09:20):
Yep.
Speaker 13 (02:09:22):
Yeah, So he knew what he was doing.
Speaker 24 (02:09:23):
But I'm glad he's back.
Speaker 13 (02:09:24):
So is he gonna play short waions gone?
Speaker 24 (02:09:26):
Is he gonna be on third.
Speaker 3 (02:09:28):
Stay at third base? I would think I wouldn't anticipate
the pain is gone, Uh much longer. I wouldn't anticipate it.
Speaker 13 (02:09:36):
Right.
Speaker 3 (02:09:37):
The lineup today will have Jeremy Paine, I believe so
as well so and hopefully he see. I think he's
in Boston with him, and the anticipation was maybe on
this road trip, and uh, I think, and he has
been taking at bats elsewhere, so I think it's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (02:09:50):
A funny enough with injuries. What did you say on Sunday?
Possibly August the first? There you go in today's August
the first, and here's paya.
Speaker 23 (02:09:58):
I've got tickets for Bregman's homecoming on the eleventh, so
I'll see.
Speaker 8 (02:10:04):
I don't know.
Speaker 23 (02:10:04):
I hope they cheered, uh Tucker when he came back.
Speaker 3 (02:10:08):
They did, Yeah, he got he got the ovation. It's
going to be a standing ovation as if he's retiring,
going to the Hall of Fame and we're getting him in.
Hopefully the pain you that were you, not the pain you,
but the crey were used to when he was here
will be as clutch as then that'd be as he should.
Speaker 16 (02:10:24):
Great.
Speaker 8 (02:10:25):
Well, good to hear you guys.
Speaker 13 (02:10:26):
Man, I'm I'm retired to you, so that's why I'm.
Speaker 7 (02:10:29):
I don't wake up till ten eleven o'clock sometimes.
Speaker 3 (02:10:31):
So well, after all that hard work you put in, brother,
you can sleep till noon. You've earned it. But we're
greatful you called us early today.
Speaker 12 (02:10:37):
Man.
Speaker 3 (02:10:38):
It's good to hear from you.
Speaker 11 (02:10:39):
The reason the reason I caught yo because I thought
y'all talked about women when you were talking about Flatten Curves.
Speaker 13 (02:10:45):
I like, mind Curby, how about you?
Speaker 3 (02:10:47):
Is there any doubt? Is there any doubt.
Speaker 13 (02:10:49):
Gup in California yet?
Speaker 12 (02:10:53):
Yeah? No, I don't.
Speaker 3 (02:10:54):
I don't need one that when you give a little
tap on the on the backside that it hits their
pelvis bone. I needed to come back and hit me
like four waves do. Yeah, wave on wave is exactly
how I like it. Okay, that's exactly right, Thank you, brother.
I appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (02:11:08):
Enjoy that.
Speaker 3 (02:11:09):
Enjoy that those that's sleeping in, brother, But we always
love hearing from you, all right, I appreciate it, brother.
Speaker 4 (02:11:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:11:15):
Hey, look, I'm a little doe myself, so who am
I to try to say? You know, I should expect otherwise.
So anyway, someone three two, one, two five, seven ninety
is the number to get in. Biscuit, Wyatt, Brandon Logan,
A lot of you right there. We will get to
all of you before the close of business for us
here today the Matt Thomas Show with Ross coming up
(02:11:37):
ten to two right here on your home of the
Astro Sports Talk seven ninety. The Jean Salisbury Show continues.
Biscuit wants to weigh in. Good morning, Biscuit, shake shake
itod baby. I'm I'm telling you, I'm telling you. He's
(02:12:01):
keeping the table happy.
Speaker 3 (02:12:02):
He's rolling. He's rolling right right. It's like it's like
we called you up and said, hey, could you send
us a PDF copy of all your hits so we
know we're gonna play the stick the stick man slowly
giving him the dice now not quickly giving him to him.
Speaker 13 (02:12:14):
That's rights as nineteen eighty four.
Speaker 3 (02:12:17):
Dan, that's it a year before me.
Speaker 24 (02:12:20):
There you go, yeah, hey, shot, let me let me
say it is that the first of all shot. Uh,
all kudos to seeing them, man. I almost feel like
shed kind of fielding that slide of miss Carroll.
Speaker 3 (02:12:34):
You know, yeah, we got you all way, yep.
Speaker 13 (02:12:37):
Yeah, and uh, the different type of callers.
Speaker 23 (02:12:40):
But but you still feel that female, you know, because
women have a different perspective than we have.
Speaker 13 (02:12:44):
Right, He's always good.
Speaker 3 (02:12:46):
They're a lot smarter. Yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 11 (02:12:50):
Don't and I don't know. I don't know if she
retired or whatever. She show got a lot of information studying.
Speaker 3 (02:12:57):
I feel like she is sitting in on the meetings
with the astros. Right, yeah, great stuff, a.
Speaker 24 (02:13:03):
Lot of information.
Speaker 13 (02:13:04):
What is the thing?
Speaker 11 (02:13:06):
She answered the question you can miss me with all
war and what are we better today than we were yesterday?
That's all I mean.
Speaker 23 (02:13:14):
We answered yes on that.
Speaker 3 (02:13:16):
Hey, I'm with it.
Speaker 13 (02:13:16):
Let's roll with it.
Speaker 3 (02:13:17):
Let's do it, agreed?
Speaker 11 (02:13:22):
What Almaguire and the Humphrey bogart a line was shot?
Play it again, Sam, We got him back. Play it again, baby.
Speaker 3 (02:13:29):
And the first time you played it it was pretty
damn good, wasn't It wasn't half bad? Was this?
Speaker 12 (02:13:33):
That?
Speaker 3 (02:13:33):
It works? So I am with you. That's what I
with all the analytics that smarter people deal with than me,
Jay Biscuit, and there's a lot of them, and then
I know it works.
Speaker 1 (02:13:44):
I'm with you.
Speaker 3 (02:13:45):
I try to make it as simple as I can.
When I went to bet on Tuesday, and then I
woke up on Thursday or frid should I say Friday
with the bet on Wednesday night, woke up on Thursday.
Are the Astros better today than when I was unw
with work on Wednesday? And the answer is unequivocally yes
to me, I can not only better today, Biscuit, but
(02:14:09):
two years from now, I'm not worried about Oh man,
what do we do? Melton's gone? Oh, Matthew's gone. That
you gave up some top prospect as you're trying to
rebuild a franchise in a farm system to have those assets,
you didn't have to part with that, and you still
get a guy who's a Hall of Fame astro and
pop in a left handed bat and versatility in the
infield with your ears. Yeah, I'm with you. Did you
(02:14:31):
get better? And it's this old school simple question, Biscuit, Yeah,
they got better, no question.
Speaker 11 (02:14:38):
And and Sean listen, listen with man, another old saying,
we'll cross those other bridges when we get to them.
Speaker 23 (02:14:44):
Okay, you know right now, what across it when we
get to him? And Sean, Hey man, I'm I'm sho.
Speaker 11 (02:14:52):
Let me ask you one last question man and and
and it's been talked about, but you know it's really
hasn't been Really can you really wantify having a focal
leader in the locker room. I think almost every team
has to have that one guy that, you know what
I mean. It's good to have a hard working business
type guy, like a two way or whatever.
Speaker 23 (02:15:11):
And it's good to have a like a clown to
keep the locker room loose.
Speaker 11 (02:15:16):
But every team I've seen has that one vocal leader.
He don't unlessar he had to be the best player.
It could be a Mario Ellie type or whatever. But
to have that one guy that when we get down
or we going through some you know, bad times, that
he gets up and he charges the heel and.
Speaker 13 (02:15:35):
We follow it.
Speaker 24 (02:15:36):
That's hard to quantify.
Speaker 3 (02:15:37):
Yeah, instead of sitting behind and telling you what to do,
he jumps out in front and shows you. Yeah, there's
no doubt you need the guy. You're right. We got
to have the class clown but knows business, but he
knows when to make you laugh when they're stressed. That
guy's important, the business guy who says, all right, guys,
it's fun, but remember this is a business trip. And
then the third guy is the guy who understands the
funny part of it, when knows when to put his
(02:15:58):
arm around, he knows when to put his eating your ass.
That's Korea, and then go out and produce one percent.
All good teams I've ever been on, had all three,
had all three and the Astros run. They just added
the third piece to the puzzle. I'm sure there's some
fun in that clubhouse. They do do their business, and
Daggie Doug mentioned it. They've been a little bit more
business like and you don't see him celebrating on a
(02:16:19):
wheelbarrow and a dugout or whatever it is, right, but
I can tell you it is they upgraded that. The
one thing all they said, and Biscuit, thank you very much.
He's right on Dan, and I know we're going to
get to the rest of our callers. Here is is
Biscuit hit it and come back and play it against Sam.
Speaker 1 (02:16:36):
Here.
Speaker 3 (02:16:36):
Here's the one thing, too, is that guys like that
in a clubhouse that understand the roster may have changed
the leadership, doesn't it did leader, there's a consistency with it.
And Biscuit made the point, Yes they're better, Yes you
need that guy, and it's not some guy you're coming in, Well,
this has been a leader somewhere else, the reputation and
(02:16:57):
when he left here, you tell me, were they talking
more about his glove? They were I was talking about
But were we talking more about what we're losing as
the player? Which yeah, people talked about it, but you
know what the number one mention was on this show
and on people who called in when he left off.
What are we going to do about the leadership in
the club huh? And it's been I mean we were
able to win without him, which is a tribute to them.
(02:17:20):
But there's still there's that one thing you're kind of
because right now, if I ask you who's the voice
in the clubhouse, we would probably say before Krea, well Altuve,
But Altuove is not that real. He's a fun guy
but leads by example Christian Walker. But when you're new,
it's hard. You know your first guy here, you're still
trying to grind and get the position set of you paradeus,
settle in for Breg. I mean, there really isn't that
(02:17:40):
guy who's like Jordan. I don't know if he's a
very verbal guy. I'm not even sure what kind of
you know, look like they all have fun. But I'm
talking about that guy who I got to grab you
by the back of the jersey. Dude, let's get this
thing going. And even though they've won without him, imagine
what a boost it is to win to have that
presence and know when to apply it. It's a good
get getting Kara a Biscuits spot on, as was Sheen
and as was Aggie Doug.
Speaker 1 (02:18:00):
As somebody pointed out on Twitter. I mean, you know,
we're feeling really good about the other two teams in
town two, and take the basketball team. Who's the guy
that you look at in that locker room and say, oh, yeah,
that's the guy. It's Fred van Vleet, the ft player
on the floor.
Speaker 3 (02:18:13):
No, but I can also argue and the culture that
Udoka said, here's the way we're going to do it,
and we're going to do it right, and then go
get the guys to do it. You're one hundred percent
correct Texans. Yeah, Will Anderson Jr. And Demiko Wait, he
didn't even let coordinator Fester guy was supposed to be hired.
Who's the head coaching guy? Slowk after his first year here?
Second here here doesn't work out? What's he doing instead
of saying, well, let's see how the third year works out.
(02:18:35):
Love you, Bobby, We're friend. Got to move on. I mean,
and C. J.
Speaker 1 (02:18:38):
Gardner Johnson, don't rule him out because I loved what
he said the other day about you know, hey, you
know defending, He's like defending a super Bowl. I'm on
a different team. I mean you even heard gets it
Landon Dickerson up there in Philly when they're like, hey,
you guys defending, He's like, no, that.
Speaker 3 (02:18:53):
Team is this isn't that team any different? And and
it's they don't exist. Think about what a guy like
Joe Mixon Waltz is off since Andy's roster and comes
in here and immediately is that's the guy we're listening
to because you know he's going to post all the time.
Kelvin Sampson's got his team. Sure leadership I mean well,
I mean this city is right now filled with leadership.
(02:19:17):
It really is.
Speaker 1 (02:19:18):
At the I'm talking about on our sports teams. And
in terms of the analytics, I understand what they are
and I'm a big fan of it. And look, it's
a proven strategy. Clearly it's worked here. You got to
have both, though, Dan I can't live by one alone.
It's a game that is managed by humans, played by humans.
So if you're looking at it from the analytics perspective,
and that's the end all, be all, no, don't do it,
(02:19:40):
then you're never going to find a team because there
is no perfect player out there.
Speaker 3 (02:19:43):
I don't know anybody that can operate a business on
a sheet of paper by being told you use the information. Well,
of course you do. We all if I'm a football player,
like we've oh on third and seven plus or third
and five plus in the red zone, they play man
ninety percent of the time. Now I'm calling zone plays
ninety percent of the time. In the passing game, I'm
an idiot. Oh they do that now every now and then.
(02:20:05):
It's a change up. Same thing here, Hey, guys, fastball pitcher.
He throws fastball seventy five percent of the time when
he comes, when he pitches, and it's always a first
he's a fastball throwing first struggle. It always leads an
eighty percent time. He leads with the fastball. If you're
a hitter and you're not looking fastball, that's called evidence.
And if he throws you something other than that, you
got him out of his comfort zone, and if he
(02:20:27):
threw a ball, now you know you're getting fastball. So
analytics are evidence. But I also know this. Sometimes I'm
sitting there coaching, it's like, my guy's not playing very well.
And then I think, you know what, though I've seen
this movie, I don't care what the metrics say. That
he's having a bad game and he's a slow starter.
He's playing because this will be the day he gets
his completions or breaks out of a slump. Hitting, you
(02:20:50):
got to have both. You lean on evidence, which is
analytics and numbers and tendencies in football. But when he
gets right down to it every now and again, if
Korea strikes out three times tonight and comes to the
play with the fourth time, with the game online guy
on second base, you think you're pitch hitting for him
in fen White Park on a clutch game, he's hitting analytics, well,
he's won seventy eight against this right hander. Oh well,
(02:21:12):
it's also he also knows what to do. He's also
been clutching postseason performances. And then when you've needed him,
you're going to the plate and if you get the
golden sombrero, I'll deal with it. But I'll take my
chances to screw the analytics. My feel is it moment
that this is a setup moment for Correa to say,
welcome back.
Speaker 11 (02:21:29):
Man.
Speaker 1 (02:21:30):
Why do you think old guys have been getting managerial
jobs again? Because the binder only took you so far
and then the lot.
Speaker 3 (02:21:37):
Of guys win. Dusty Yeah, Bochieu, your guy in Philly's
got him there. Yeah. With Thompson right now, I'm just
telling Snitker's been pretty good. It's not that the young
guys don't win. But don't discount some of these guys
who understand lifelong and baseball data. Brown's been in baseball
for thirty plus years. He gets that too.
Speaker 1 (02:21:56):
Scouts sigh, no doubt about it all the time. Our guy,
Larry there, you're gonna be leading this soft next. Robert Wyatt, Adrian, see,
you're right there. Literally a couple of lines open for
you seven one three two one two five seven ninety
against seven one three two one two five seven ninety.
Continue more Seawn Salisbury Show coming up. The Shawn Salisbury
(02:22:17):
Show continued, what a difference to day makes? And my
response was the old saying, I'll just wait, well.
Speaker 3 (02:22:25):
Get and if that happens, which hopefully it will tonight
this weekend. Guess what that means that that the fantasy
and the dream came true. Man, that's real. That's a
that's eyes awake fantasy and it's here. But if I'd
have told you in April that Corre was going to
be an astro again, you just said, of win at
the end of his contract, all right, Oh got trade
(02:22:46):
for his ass. Now you're gonna get him for basically
an apple and a roadmap. Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 1 (02:22:52):
It's like at the end of his career, Mike Hampton
came back. Oh man, you know it's like, yeah, I mean,
you know, it's it's still still still a good picture.
Speaker 3 (02:23:01):
But yeah, sometimes that does happen that way. But that's
kind of stark on the tree. Yeah, Mike hid himself
a home run too once in a while.
Speaker 1 (02:23:08):
To brother, he looks like he could still pitch. You
saw the picture I took with them. He he looks
like he can still get after it, and he probably
can on his own.
Speaker 3 (02:23:16):
There you go. He just doesn't want to have to
move it very much, but he could probably still give
you a couple what's the old couple? Maybe a hit
the old the old war horse has to remind the
youngsters every once in a while, but he can. There
comes a point in time when you get challenged that
you just have to send a little bit of old
man strength message, and often looks like he still got
a little that in him.
Speaker 1 (02:23:33):
It's like playing your dad one on one. I can
never beat my dad. If you finally do, and your
dad's like, we're playing again. Oh yeah, there's no doubt
I'd happened. I can have three or three kids. I
can tell you that happened.
Speaker 3 (02:23:44):
My son grew to about six seven in a quarter,
and like the hoops game was a little different then,
and it was a little different, a little tougher to cover.
Okay at that point.
Speaker 1 (02:23:52):
That's like buddy of mine who he worked with, David Pollock,
and he's like, yeah, he's like bodying us up in
a basketball game.
Speaker 3 (02:23:58):
And I ran into him.
Speaker 1 (02:23:59):
I go, yeah, they're telling stories about you bodying you know,
dudes up, you know, you know, posting up. He goes,
get off the tracks of the trains coming through. That's
the damn right now. And it's full steam ahead. And
I say, you get to the point of saying, am
I supposed to my sons, get me in the lower block.
I'm six five, he's six seven. Am I supposed to
give him, you know, the old forearm to the lower back?
Am I supposed to give him few RIBCD shots like
(02:24:20):
I would have?
Speaker 3 (02:24:20):
I damned I do. Hey, if you're coming down in here, brother,
we don't play finesse basketball down here, and I'll be damn.
There's times like, okay, I'm better serious up here. He's
no longer eight, he's now sixteen and seventeen and eighteen,
and he's got you in height. It's like now he's
sitting a drink on top of my head. There's a
problem with this. But yeah, physicality is realized, it's not learned.
That's exactly right, And it usually takes being on the
(02:24:42):
receiving end of it before you actually learn. Take sure,
take a punch to the face. That'll change things, not literally,
but you get my point. Sometimes literally, but not your kid.
Imagine rib shots to your sons, like you better you're
coming in this area, Like you said, better, you better
make sure the train track are cleared. That's what you're
gonna do. Man.
Speaker 1 (02:25:01):
You gotta remind, you gotta remind people every once Hampton
looks like you can still spin it. He can remind you,
Larry and stafford our guy, what's going on?
Speaker 3 (02:25:10):
Buddy?
Speaker 8 (02:25:11):
What's going on? Bulldogs?
Speaker 12 (02:25:13):
Shun?
Speaker 8 (02:25:13):
How y'all doing on this beautiful Friday morning?
Speaker 18 (02:25:16):
Man?
Speaker 3 (02:25:16):
I hope well awesome?
Speaker 25 (02:25:17):
You know what we're about, Yes, sir, Hey, I'm gonna
try to remain as calm and as mellow excited as
I possibly can be, even though we all know that's alive.
Speaker 8 (02:25:28):
But I'm gonna try. Look here, man, a couple of things.
Triple E.
Speaker 12 (02:25:33):
Somebody must have burned Triple E or CD or something, man,
because he's coming back with this bump music that me
and Biscuit and all the brothers out here man were going. Okay, man,
we know it's Friday. Man, they trying to get us
to start drinking early or something.
Speaker 13 (02:25:45):
Man.
Speaker 8 (02:25:47):
Just bump back music and cigars.
Speaker 3 (02:25:50):
Go hand in hand.
Speaker 8 (02:25:51):
Man, So he keep doing your things.
Speaker 12 (02:25:54):
Baby, now, fellas, look, I believe somebody got a hold
to my whist list, because when the Texas lost in
Kansas City, my whist list kind of consisted of get
rid of Larrmy tonsl check, get rid of Bobby slowck check,
go get Kevin Durant, check and bring Carlos Carrera ass
(02:26:15):
back to Houston. Check now, so everybody understands what this
is about.
Speaker 8 (02:26:21):
Carlos Carrera is one of those.
Speaker 12 (02:26:23):
Dudes that are probably gonna be on the Mount Rushmore
of Houston Sports as long as we live, man, because
what he brings to the table is immeasurable in terms
of leadership, in terms of playoff experience, and in terms
of exactly what that locker room needed over there on Crawford, Man,
The opsos are an organization with our twove that go
(02:26:46):
about their business in a professional manner and.
Speaker 8 (02:26:48):
Do the things that they need to do in the
right way.
Speaker 12 (02:26:51):
But they needed somebody over there that can light a
fire under their ass like Los does every time he's
in that clubhouse.
Speaker 8 (02:26:58):
This is gonna have a a.
Speaker 12 (02:27:00):
Valuable effect on fran Brands. It's gonna have a valuable
effect on your dynass, because he got to figure out
real quick how to get his ass back in this lineup,
because we ain't gonna just sit around and keep playing
with him. And I'm a big yr down guy, but
you got to come bring us some stick, baby, and
so Naget, you got Loaws back in the building.
Speaker 14 (02:27:20):
Sun.
Speaker 8 (02:27:21):
One of the things that we're gonna see as a
fan of Houston sports.
Speaker 12 (02:27:26):
We have things lined up perfectly that we can go
out and win championships in all three of the major
sports in a town. The Rockets, Ascros, and them boys
on Kirby. And if you don't understand how valuable that
is to me, I'm gonna tell you that I've been
in this city my entire life, and it's is one
of those times that I think the planets and the
(02:27:47):
sun and everything are all aligned up for us to
be able to celebrate something really special.
Speaker 8 (02:27:52):
Man, I'm so excited about Loas being back.
Speaker 12 (02:27:55):
I don't know what to do, but I can tell you,
like I told them boys yesterday, panties are gonna be
dropping all over the city.
Speaker 8 (02:28:01):
They gonna get white.
Speaker 12 (02:28:02):
Toenail polots put on them polls. It's about to be
something crazy over there.
Speaker 3 (02:28:07):
Hey, Larry, a few a few of the fellas might
be dropping theirs too, just because he's back in town.
Speaker 8 (02:28:12):
You know what I'm saying, I need something to bounce
back on me. I don't need none of.
Speaker 3 (02:28:24):
That's our guy, man.
Speaker 19 (02:28:25):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (02:28:25):

time he posts, We're lucky on this show, dude. I

PHYSICAL i didn't never hear much about, it and on

not Judging. KOREA i, MEAN i know that the history,
says So i'm not Judging. Korea you know by the
way he played that he was a POSTSEASON. MVP i
