We had a team meeting yesterday and I told him,
thank gosh, she was trying to figure out the roster,
and I said, uh, I said, it's important you realize
that I'm moving. We're moving you down in the order today.
That's we're putting you in the rizzo. Oh good, we
need your production at the bottom. That's fine if I'm
in the lineup.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Yeah, I thought, I told you checked the lineup card.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
I wasn't sure.

Speaker 6 (01:42):
I thought, maybe one more day of rest because you
went four innings and it's like forty pitches in your
worn out now. But I said then I Then I
changed up and said, now you know what.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
There was a talk, dude.

Speaker 6 (01:51):
I'm just telling you talk will possibly put you in
the portal.

Speaker 5 (01:58):

That's fine.

Speaker 6 (02:01):
There was there was so that. We said, no, he's
not gonna leave them. We thought, do we do we
renounce a scholarship?

Speaker 4 (02:07):
We thought about that, Okay said no scholarships even matter anymore.

Speaker 6 (02:11):
Yeah, we almost know, but we had thought about it.
We said, well, do we take some of the collective
money away from him? We could say, now you're getting
a man's walk right right. And then we started to say, well,
maybe a good stint down in Corpus Christy doing some good.
I said, he's my partner. I can't send him down there.
That it's disrespectful. Well, Dan, but in truth I could

(02:34):
blame it on dances. He's out here, but I actually was.
But I said, but then I said, no, I can't.
I said, really, Dan, you've come and you've done a
great job. You're you know, you're our arch manning. Yeah, Briance,
Dan's our arch manning. But Brian's the start. And I said,
but Brian's Quinn York. I can't. I can't send him
down the line. I said, You've got to go with Bruna.
I said, so I'm gonna keep him in the middle
of the batting order.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (02:56):
Then the talk came up that you were having transfermationation surgery.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
We didn't know what that meant.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
Yeah, do I you said to your trade I mean,
would you say you're transforming yourself into healthy?

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Huh?

Speaker 6 (03:06):
I thought you meant. I mean, we took it as
you're gonna be out a while. I would you know
what I'm saying. Yeah, but we we got you back
in the lineup. Yeah, we do playing maybe playing a
little hurt it. Really it's it's a good thing though,
that up, you know. Yeah, I look, I try to
play hard. And it also makes sense that I play

(03:26):
hard because I was raising a middle class family.

Speaker 8 (03:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (03:28):
Oh you know what if you listen and if you're
raising a middle class family, did you know it? The
middle class family is to catch off. Yeah, if you're
raising the middle class family, you can start any sense
with that. Hey, Brian, how you feeling?

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Look, man, I was raised in the middle class family.
First of all. First thing, first you think about taking
a vacation. Where are we going for vacation? I mean
to Hawaii.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Now, look, Hawaii's beautiful, but it's not a middle class family.

Speaker 6 (03:54):
So you're raised middle class? Absolutely, yeah, I feel you. Yeah,
I mean, uh so how was how is soul? Ross State?

Speaker 9 (04:02):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (04:03):
It was good? And especially because I was raising in
the middle we go.

Speaker 6 (04:08):
Yesterday was yeah, today, don't make me anyway. Uh, good morning,
it's a great day. Great to have you back in
the lineup. And when we're trying to clinch the thing,
so do you know we need you back in the lineup?

Speaker 5 (04:24):
Great?

Speaker 6 (04:24):
It was Uh, sometimes you know you got to take
give me what was Did you have baby? Is that
what it was when we let you offer your wife
out a baby?

Speaker 5 (04:32):
Don't have a wife, but you're paying. Did not have
a baby? No, sure didn't.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Because you should be well rested for Friday night, ready
to go, because it's it's always in forever them kids. Yeah,
and you give one hundred and ten percent though, that's
the key thing, right, took a pitch by pitch, Yeah,
take it one play at a time.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
That's all you can do.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Look, when you get out of bed, you got to
take put one foot in front of the other.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
Yeah, put you two feet on the ground. Play where
your feet are.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Yeah, exactly, really really like what you're doing though, So
lace up those boots, uh, your bootstraps.

Speaker 6 (05:01):
We actually had a lot of We had some offers, Yeah,
but I resisted. I kept your not trade close your
work jeans on steel toes nice, you know. And then
you gotta you gotta grab your lunch pail, put your
hard hat on, and get after it our lunch pail. Guys,
guys that are allowed to brown bag it. Have you
ever thought about that? But if you're a lunch pill
See times when we couldn't afford the lunch you go,

(05:24):
my name on it? Yeah, you know a little brown
bag was shawing on it, right? Is it just? It
was my brown bag float, peanut butter, jelly. Oh dude,
there was nothing ham and cheese when I was a kid.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
There was nothing more embarrassing when you're rocking an actual
lunch box and the next thing you know, mom forgot
to wash it and then she's throwing stuff into a
brown paper bag and carry that bad boys. Yeah, and
I just call you a loser, and you know where's
your lunch back?

Speaker 10 (05:50):
Right?

Speaker 6 (05:50):
Little grader's yelling at you? I wanted an extra sound.
It was like overloaded, so you had to fold up
the top. You could.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
It was just maybe you had the key doctor pepper
in ten foil. Yeah, I was keeping.

Speaker 11 (06:02):
Yes, the same with me.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
Oh yeah, that was the cold man. Screw yeady cooler. Okay,
uh by Yetty was tinfoil.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
That was mine.

Speaker 6 (06:12):
Don't screw Yetty. We are so thankful for you. It
glued because guess what mine was?

Speaker 5 (06:17):
What it was? It was tenoil.

Speaker 6 (06:19):
You thought from like seven in the morning till like
until eleven forty five, dinner or lunch in school was
actually really going.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
To keep it cold for five hours. Yeah, man, I'll
tell you what though, guy, those are the days.

Speaker 12 (06:31):
Man.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
I think back in elementary you couldn't even get a soda.
You'd have to like sneak into the We had it
in tinfoil, no doubt, man.

Speaker 9 (06:40):
Man.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
Yeah, chips, maybe a cupcake from Hostess. Yeah, well twinkie yeah,
make everybody else jealous.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
Yeah, yeah, stinking real quick, couple. I actually want to
open up it, you know how, like they have candy
shops like in the dealing where you go and you
get all the different kind of candy.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
A little kind of candy, like actual candy or like candy.

Speaker 6 (06:59):
No not not not drugs, regular cakes there you're going
and get Walton milkon Dylan's candy store at the airport,
you know I love Uh that's actually Ralph Lauren's daughter. Yeah,
so it's all those candy stores that Dylan's starting New York's.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
Yeah, those are hers. Yep.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
So I thought that I was going to open up
and tell me this is not the greatest name ever.
So you heard it here first of if anybody steals it.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
You know where it's coming.

Speaker 6 (07:22):
That's exactly the origin, So basically I've trademarked it without
trade marketing.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
You, I was this little stupid I have later let's
hear it. I'm thinking, well, I want a nut shop.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
No, you get stop, it'd be a dead serious.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
Now I want you to listen to this. Tell me
if it's not brilliant.

Speaker 6 (07:40):
Okay, he like like pistachios and walnuts and you know
chin nuts, all the great nuts that do you know
what I'm talking about? No, seriously, play the game with
me for being serious. Forget how many different kinds of
nuts are in there talking about think about this. Tell
me this is not the greatest marketing name ever. These

(08:02):
nuts in your mouth, you're actually gonna eat them when
you go in. Tell me that's not the greatest.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
And if you can get somebody advertised, tell if you're
trying to get I did serious think about I was thinking,
you know, what's a great name for well, the nut shop.

Speaker 6 (08:16):
I mean you're no kidding, I mean what one that
you you can promote marketing and think about the signage.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
And I just wanted to do, well, what do you
do with that? You eat them?

Speaker 6 (08:25):
You put them in a milkshake and grind them up.
Sometimes you put them on top of ice cred. I
don't know what you do with them, but it's the
greatest name. Tell me, it's not awesome these nuts in
your mouth. It's because you're gonna eat them and they're healthy.
So why would you call it? I don't think you're
having any issues. Would anyone trying to trademark that?

Speaker 7 (08:45):
Why?

Speaker 5 (08:46):
Because it's brilliant? I am so whacked out.

Speaker 6 (08:51):
No, I let him say, wou'd be a great name
because you know what came on you that like liquorice
dot com.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
You can all the licorice. I see that's and so
it came.

Speaker 6 (08:57):
I said, then they do it for nuts too, and
I said, I want to open store and I want
the name.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
That's what I wanted to be. How long?

Speaker 4 (09:05):
So you did TV at ESPN twelve years and then
after this its's all radio?

Speaker 5 (09:10):
No, it's TV too. I've done both.

Speaker 4 (09:11):

local in Dallas local house.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Okay, okay, so in all your stops. Did you ever
think that it's six ten in the morning. Announced you
talking about your nuts? I've got a new nutshot for
a nut job. Tell me that you wouldn't?

Speaker 6 (09:42):
Okay? Will there be people outside? Fresh the name alone
draw you there. Yeah, you're driving down, you're thinking, what
a phenomenon these nuts.

This this is Sports Talk seven nights.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
Because right now you see it light only Houston.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
Right now, back to Sean Salisbury, What am back with

(16:03):
the Sehn Southbray Show.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
You're on Sports Talk seven ninety Sean Bryn and Triple
Lee Texans taking on the Green Bay Packers Sunday. University
of Text has taken on the Georgia Bulldogs. Huge matchup
in the SEC Saturday evening in Austin. The Guardians with
a dramatic Game three win in the ALCS seven excuse me,

(16:24):
seven to five on a walk off bomb. Yankee still
lead that series two to one. The Dodgers take a
three to one lead in the NLCS. They kicked the
you know what out of the Mets last night ten
to two.

Speaker 6 (16:35):
There is no close games in this We've had four
goat games for the most part, and three pretty dominant games,
three by the Dodgers and one by the Mets. So
they all dominated the There's been no drama that I'm
talking about in the ninth inning where you got to
come from behind. They are, they are beating up on
the Mets pitching, the Dodgers are and the Mets are
pretty damn good. But this I hate to say that

(16:57):
they're not winning three in a row. No, No, this
series is. That series is done, and you're gonna get
the Dodgers in the World Series and then you're gonna
get whatever happens here the Indians, Cleveland Indians do and
you don't have to. I think that John Sterling did
that too, or not John Sterling? Yeah, it was John
Sturtley last night that apologized for you. Said, Indians go.
It's easy to do. You know, you know you don't
have to apologize it. Yeah, it isn't care exact why

(17:20):
we make it. When you know, Cleave, what are you
gonna do? Oh you said Indians? I did, Yes, Like
I still sometimes call in the Washington Redskins and Redskins
in the San Diego Chargers okay sometimes and the Oakland
Raiders that are in Vegas. So but they, uh, they'll
hang around because they're they're pretty damn scrappy, right, yeah,
but the the Yankees are. They're pretty good too when

(17:44):
it comes to their lineup when they're all when they're raking,
pretty impressive. But Cleveland, good on them? Man, what's so funny?

Speaker 5 (17:50):
Uh? Felipe tweeted us.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
At the counter of your nut shop, you can sell
uh honey goat weed? Yeah damn right, walk in, I
really think, don't you think I'm on to something with
that name?

Speaker 5 (18:03):
Great name, and we could do nice little bogo.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Yeah, buy one, get one free, which all legal too,
which everybody wants to.

Speaker 5 (18:11):
There you go, I'm with.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
You seven three two five seven ninety Billy wants to
talk about about your uh your nuts shop? Billy, what's
happening you?

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Good morning guys. I want to be your infomercial guy.

Speaker 17 (18:23):
This is Billy and I'm here with D's Nuts. You
gotta put D's nuts in your mouth. And if you
don't have D's nuts, you just don't have anything at all.
If you act right now, both D's nuts can go
into your mouth. For nineteen ninety nine, we're here, yea jeez, No, Billy.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
The last the last tagline is you got the you
got to order before midnight tonight. Though, Yeah, oh priceless
Billy in and out. He's gonna be what he's gonna be.
He's gonna be the spokesperson.

Speaker 9 (18:55):
That's c.

Speaker 4 (18:59):
Billy's Usually she calls in and talk astros or he
hadn't called in a while. That's what he Garen asked
he when Billy was listed that he was crying laughing
as came up with his own public service and al,
that was classic.

Speaker 6 (19:13):
I love the name though, I'll tell you great name.
That is a good one. Great name. Just asked me,
who thinks about this stuff? That you and I think
we got problems.

Speaker 4 (19:22):
To me, Oh you don't really, Yeah, try to try
to dodge that one.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Okay, No, we got problems, dog, Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:30):
The first, like I said, the first sign of getting
it right is embrace it and admit it.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
Yeah, and we can move forward, Brian, right, we can.
We can't. We can't.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
Oh man, that game last night the Guardian's Holy cow. Uh,
Jean Carlos Stanton or excuse me, Aaron Judge, John Carlos
Stanton go back to back, uh to take the lead
for the Yankees.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
That was in the eighth inning and then in the
ninth inning.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
You've got the Guardians come up and they we're down,
I believe, if I'm not mistaken, there down to their
last strike, two outs and Big Christmas comes up. Jean
Carlo Noel unbelievable, pinch it, two run, Jack ties it,

(20:16):
and then David Fry in the bottom of the tenth
walks it off. Oh what a what a what a
scene in Cleveland last night? Unbelievable?

Speaker 15 (20:24):
Man?

Speaker 5 (20:25):
Yeah, sure was, man.

Speaker 6 (20:28):
And uh now now Judge has got back to back
days a home runs, right, Yeah, he's back to back
games to see if he's getting himself tuned up for
this World Series run, see if he his postseason changes
like his regular season. But a huge win for Cleveland
last time. Man, it was cool to watch.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
Yeah, it was uh, excuse me, unbelievable because you had
Emmanuel class A coming in for Cleveland and he gives
up that Jack back to back. Yeah, I mean, like
stuff that doesn't happen.

Speaker 6 (21:06):
Yeah to a guy who's is as guarant big a
guarantee as airs in baseball right now. Yeah, on the
mound when it comes to closing stuff out, no doubt.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
Incredible. Man, it was.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
Uh series has had a little bit of everything in
this one. We got to here's Brian Anderson on that call.
He's Brian Anderson. We said this before, so underrated. Listen
to this call on that game time home run for
the Guardians.

Speaker 14 (21:31):
Oh, oh my goodness, Big Christmas has tired it, Big
Hall come it, President under the Tree. Oh my goodness,

(21:53):
John Tenz Noll.

Speaker 13 (21:56):
The biggest swing of his.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
Life, John Kin Noel ties it. It was a one oh
count uh for Cleveland. They had two outs. He hits
that two run bomb and the place goes bananas that
that that call.

Speaker 5 (22:10):
Sean my gosh, you.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
Yeah, they they're all tripping. And when Brian Anderson's saying,
oh my god. And then you got Ron Darling when
when he's doing his call talking about Big Christmas as
they call obviously the last name Noel.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
You know, uh, was just an unbelievable moment.

Speaker 6 (22:33):
I'm telling you, man, Brian Anderson his energy and you
know it's not fake. His call, He's I freaking love
his game, his broadcast.

Speaker 10 (22:43):
I do.

Speaker 5 (22:44):
I think he is phenomenal.

Speaker 6 (22:46):
And if you didn't even watch last night, you got
we all did and saw it. But if you didn't
see it, there that it almost feels they got the
chills again listening to it. You got the chills listening
to it.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
This is Brian Anderson on the walk off bomb in
the bottom of the tenth.

Speaker 14 (23:02):
But in Game three, Fry deep drive left field cries
watching it.

Speaker 13 (23:09):
Is hey walk off home run.

Speaker 14 (23:12):
David Fry lights up the Cleveland night.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
And what have I always ask for it?

Speaker 6 (23:32):
When I say when I hear it, let it breathe
and let the crowd tell the story. You get it in,
you get your home run call and lay out. Let
those guys. The crowd's telling you everything you need to know.
And great job obviously by Darling and Frenchy not to
jump in and that that that it's a really good
trio calling games. The energy they I'll tell you what

(23:54):
their energy matches the energy of a crowd.

Speaker 5 (23:58):
It does they do?

Speaker 6 (23:59):
They They under stand the moment and they had a
bunch of back to back jobs and then Homer get
to the tenth inning and then boom Fry. Homers, who's
been He's been clutch a lot of the year for
Cleveland this year. So what a bunch of great Brian
anders is like speaking of Christ present un of the tree.
I got opportunity called play after play after play last night,
and he didn't miss one.

Speaker 5 (24:19):
No, he didn't miss on one. I would.

Speaker 6 (24:22):
I think he's brilliant as a as a play by
play guy I do. He lets his guy, he teases
guys up to give the inside analysis, and he does
what a good play by play guy does. He paints
a picture for you on TV or ray. You heard
all that's on the radio side, even though it was TV,
and you feel like, Okay, I get everything he's trying
to say, love it.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
It was unbelievable and an unbelievable call by Brian Anderson,
Ron Dolling and Jeff Francore. All right, let's get to break.
Let's get to switch our gears over to the Houston
Texans big big Sunday matchup against the Packers and Jordan
Love's discussing accellent sports Talk sevent.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
Ninety The Shawn Salisbury Show could continued.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
It is Friday fight song, Friday tripley.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
Who was the first fight song we heard of the morning?

Speaker 5 (25:32):
The first one? Yeah? Oh, Florida State, Florida State. Okay,
who's this? This is Purdue boiler Makers.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
You know what you do? You better boiler up. Okay,
boiler up.

Speaker 6 (25:46):
Man, it's gonna be weird when Georgia scores sixty on
Texas Saturday.

Speaker 12 (25:52):
I'm kiddy.

Speaker 5 (25:53):
I'm kiddy Texas winning that game.

Speaker 9 (25:55):
Dude.

Speaker 6 (25:56):
If you if you want to party, go to Austin
this weekend. They got the F one there.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
Yeah, they do have are I want to say, I
think Eminem's performing there as well. Like this, this weekend
in Austin is insane. We like to call it off
the his hook, off the off the meat rack dog.
It's right off the meat hook. Huge weekend.

Speaker 6 (26:16):
This Georgia Texas game is well, we get six thirty
primetime game with Fouler and Herb Street. College game Day
gonna be there. It is foul in herb Street calling
it the game too. They're neces still the game day, right,
so they're sticking around for that. Oh yeah you got
if I'm not so yeah, Formula one. Yeah you got
the F one Texas and Georgia and if I'm not mistaken,

(26:40):
let's see. Yeah, Eminem, you got some a cl live
at the Moody Theater. You got all kinds of stuff
going on. Huge weekend in Austin. I saw the hotel
rooms like, oh grand to night. I was gonna say,
I you took words right out of my mouth. The
hotel rooms are about one thousand dollars a night anywhere
in Austin, So good luck, good luck. But it's going

(27:00):
to be a phenomenal, a phenomenal weekend. And I can't
wait to see this because the both are capable of
winning the national championship, and Texas over the last few
years has gotten far more physical and in order to
beat Georgia, that's where you got to beat them. Yeah,
because both quarterbacks are playmakers. Both quarterbacks are going to

(27:21):
be first round draft picks. Both quarterbacks are capable of
huge nights. You know, we both want to beat you physically.
Both coaches have the finger on the pulse of their
team and get by in. It's going to be really
interesting to see how this doggun thing goes. But I
can't wait to Saturday night, Give me, give me the
Longhorns at home.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
Speaking of Purdue, they take on Organ tonight in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Organ's favored by twenty eight and a half.

Speaker 5 (27:48):
Yeah, and they should be. They're playing fast.

Speaker 6 (27:50):
That team's now putting themselves in Heisman position and national title.
You know, they've been in it all year because they
were so highly ranked. But taking care of their bi
is at home against Ohio State was huge this past weekend.
And now they get Purdue and that Big Ten is
weird right now, very weird.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
I know, Ohio Stadium. I'm just talking about the whole thing. Remember,
we don't no longer.

Speaker 6 (28:13):
Have two sides, it's the it's just one one, one division.
So the way Indiana is playing, you know, Missouri, we
go back with the Missouri's in the SEC. But I'm
just thinking of the Big Ten and the SEC both
by adding these teams. Think about it. Now, you added
Texas and Oklahoma SEC got better, right big time, and

(28:34):
he added the Big Ten. Now s USC has got
to play better. But the the the Big Ten has
It's odd. We're this far into the season and right
now what we're looking at like man Indiana is a player.

Speaker 5 (28:51):
Yes they are.

Speaker 6 (28:52):
So it is the teams that came into Oregon, the
teams that now have come into the Big Ten, and
the SEC didn't only upgrade, they've made an impact. So
Texas is pretty good, aren't they? Yeah, yeah, exactly so
they I think so.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
And Oklahoma was good so and I can't wait and
stay up to number three. They're playing good football.

Speaker 7 (29:16):
Right And.

Speaker 6 (29:18):
I was talking to a Texas alumb yesterday, good buddy
of mine, Shane and he, uh, we were talking about
how excited already I know the Georgia game, but how
excited we are for like that Thanksgiving weekend Texas, Texas
A and M again, that's going to be phenomenal. And
you know what Texas could if Texas can pull this
off against Georgia, dolt should could be undefeated for that

(29:39):
weekend with Texas A and M still wanting to battle
to you know, hopefully they keep winning.

Speaker 5 (29:43):
What a weekend that would be.

Speaker 6 (29:45):
And the implications of national title or undefeated type seasons
for a Texas A and M could waltz right in there.
I mean, that game's in college station, so it's going
to be.

Speaker 5 (29:53):
Talk about lit.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
I this state has been waiting for that for so long. Yep,
and uh, it's gonna be awesome to see.

Speaker 4 (29:59):
You don't when I look at these rankings, Texas, Oregon,
Penn State, Ohio State, that's your top four? How does
Ohio State stay at number four when they've when they're
five and one, because they lost to the number three
ranked team in America. Okay, oh that's right, La, I'm
thinking of Alabama. Alabama lost to freaking Vanderbilt. Never mind.

Speaker 6 (30:16):
Yeah, and it has been pushed to the brink otherwise.
Never No, I think what's Obama got Tennessee this week? Yes, yeah,
that's gonna be a good game where the winner of
that one gets stay alive and get that confidence back
after the Vanderbilt lost for them. And then when Tennessee
got beat in their game? Was it Florida who got tennis?

Speaker 8 (30:32):
No?

Speaker 5 (30:32):
Who's who who lost to?

Speaker 10 (30:33):
Who?

Speaker 6 (30:33):
Did Tennessee get beat by a couple of weeks ago?
But they got that loss on that weekend where there
was upset after upset Florida, Arkansas, Arkansas.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
There you go, yeah, exactly, Yeah, that was that upset weekend.

Speaker 6 (30:44):
And speaking of which, now LSU, who is sneak kind
of hanging around right? They're they're I mean not just
hanging around there. They're one of the sneaky talk you know,
teams that we're not talking about enough. And if you
want to talk about what toughness looks like when you're
not playing, well, go back and watch the fourth quarter
and nuss Meyer's play at the end of the game
on a guy he had he didn't have his best game,
threw a couple picks over. I love the throw he

(31:07):
made on fourth and five, the bender down the middlefield
to get them to overtime was as good a throw
timing wise and anticipation wise to a guy who was
not open. But that see, it was the essence of
throwing a guy open and now then come back and
right off the bat double move and underthrow it on
purpose because the guy didn't bite them the on the
double move and underthrew it for the touchdown win.

Speaker 9 (31:29):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (31:29):
I think it was was it Lacey who made the
winning cat. I can't remember in the overtime, but in
watching the ride, I've watched him both about fifty times.
This LSU, It's going to be difficult at Arkansas, but
I'm going to tell you what LSU is hanging around do.
Don't be surprised there if that defense plays like they
did this most recent game against the Ole miss nuss

(31:50):
Meyer's proven to be a great leader and got that
toughness matters.

Speaker 8 (31:53):
Man.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
LSU's not going away either. No, they're number eight in
the country. Excuse me, and they.

Speaker 5 (31:58):
You say sneaky at eight, but never nobody's talking about that.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
They're in uh Faetteville this weekend to take on Arkansas
and they're only a great They're only favored by two
and a half. Yep, keep an eye on Arkansas for
the next few years in all their sports. I'm gonna
tell you something. John Calipari at Arkansas now another thing.
They're gonna be the sneakiest team in college Football's n I.

Speaker 5 (32:23):
L you watch. Do you know something I can.

Speaker 6 (32:26):
Either confirm nor deny. I'm just telling you when an
a D is given. Guys, why do you think Cali.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Was going to say if they got Calipari on he
didn't go there to to to recruit three stars and
he didn't go there. They're they're I'm just telling you
you keep an eye on it. We'll go ahead and
search the fortune five hundred companies, the companies that are
within a handful of miles of when I say hand
a Fall, Tyson Foods, Walmart, there's like four major corporations

(32:54):
there that are Arkansas.

Speaker 6 (32:56):
Jerry Jones, I'm just telling you now, that's right. When
we're sitting here five years from now at the latest,
and I said, if they could put a future's bet.

Speaker 5 (33:05):
I was talking to my buddy about it yesterday.

Speaker 6 (33:08):
Put a future's bet on Arkansas if they if you said,
five years from now, the top ten teams at NIL
or don world. I'm talking about when football, basketball, and
baseball are hanging around in all of them. You know,
nil the reason Nick got out save them, and it's
the great equalizer.

Speaker 5 (33:24):
It is the great equal life.

Speaker 6 (33:25):
Otherwise Arkansas can't He's not gonna be able to recruit
usually with LSU or they can recruit good players, but
they're just they're not quite You wonder, well can they.

Speaker 5 (33:33):
I'm just telling you they've got money.

Speaker 6 (33:36):
They've got an ad that's going to spend it, and
he's gonna when you bring in cal you're telling him, dude,
you have an open check. Butok go do what we
got to do the right hopefully legally, but you get
my point. Yeah, you keep an eye on Arkansas. If
he say Arcas got money, watch you watch what Anil
is going to do for them. And all it takes
is the big boss to say we're doing it. We're

(33:58):
gonna do things different here and it will change in
a hurry and Fetteville is.

Speaker 5 (34:02):
A good, great college town, rated as hell.

Speaker 6 (34:07):
Absolutely, just keep an eye on that program over the
next few years and all their sports, and you start.

Speaker 4 (34:11):
Saying, well, how are they doing it? Why they're spending it?
Damn right, another program. You got to be on the
lookout down there in the lone Star Conference. Soul Raw
State telling you man on the rise. They will be
on the rise, they will be Uh. They take on
Western New Mexico seven o'clock kickoff at Jackson Field in
Alpine under the lights, Homecoming battle for the Golden Tumbleweed.

(34:36):
What's your what's your record? We are that that doesn't matter.
What's the record that one in five homecoming? Look first, look, guys,
it's the first first year in Division two play, first
year in the lone Star Conference.

Speaker 5 (34:53):
Of course we're going to take our licks. But you
that's why I said we're gonna be on the rise.
And you know what, Hey, when you go when you
get together there.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
With Western who Western NEX Western New Mexicano, it's the
battle for the Golden tumble Wheel.

Speaker 6 (35:04):
It's in the Golden tumble He's evolved. It's at the
at the Pine. Yeah, it's at Jackson Field.

Speaker 5 (35:09):
You know what you do? Throw out all the records.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
I don't know how we went from Battle Battle of
I twenty against McMurray to the Battle for the Golden tumblewee,
But damn it, we're here.

Speaker 5 (35:17):
You got guys out there. Yeah, I don't blame you.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
You know one thing that really bothers me about my
university and about my alumni is they don't recognize alumni.

Speaker 5 (35:27):
Yeah, greatness, come on, what do you what am I
gonna get my invite back?

Speaker 6 (35:32):
Well, because every time we're went ten years ago, because
every Friday we're on here, you say it, then you
I'm just kidding.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
We're gonna get boat raced.

Speaker 4 (35:37):
We are gonna get Di's a question, right, we might
we might be competitive in this game. Let's see who about.
Let me just tell you something. You know what home cut?

Speaker 5 (35:44):
What do you do? You throw out the records? Yeah,
you got to throw out all the record books? Little god?
What's Western? Who was count one and five and seven?

Speaker 9 (35:51):
Seven?

Speaker 11 (35:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (35:54):
Cares? Oh yeah, Western New Mexico's two and five. We
got a shot.

Speaker 4 (35:56):
Boys at the crib five their own five having conference
just like us.

Speaker 5 (36:01):
Let's put it. Hell, No, I'm not going, but can
we bet him. Yeah, you can they there on the board. Yeah,
let's see.

Speaker 6 (36:09):
I'm taking the I'm taking the the Soul Ross State
at the crib football odds we got. Come on, Souls
will give me some odds, man.

Speaker 13 (36:17):
We got give me some.

Speaker 5 (36:20):
Here we go. Come on, hang on, hold on, looking like?
What's it looking like?

Speaker 9 (36:25):
Yep?

Speaker 6 (36:26):
Come on, man, we don't even lay a line for
this game, do it? How pathetic Soul Ross State is
right now?

Speaker 4 (36:31):
Yeah? Actually, no bets available right now. That means we
didn't make what hell you know what? I don't like
they don't?

Speaker 15 (36:38):
Come on.

Speaker 6 (36:38):
I need more respect on Soul Ross State, don't you. Yeah, Nash,
we'll get. When Barrett Slee comes on, we'll ask him
where his where his head is on the Soul Ross game?

Speaker 7 (36:47):
Dude?

Speaker 6 (36:48):
What if he comes out he goes, oh, man, they
got a great shot against Western New Mexwell, I'd say.

Speaker 5 (36:51):
Barrett, you're out of your mind knowing all these games
and knowing man, dude, we got dude.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
Hey, look, all I'm saying is I'm looking at it
on ESPN dot com. So we were there.

Speaker 10 (37:02):
You know.

Speaker 7 (37:03):
It's all right.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
So now just throw the records out and good luck
this weekend. Yeah, we get us to break. I think dude,
were run late.

Speaker 5 (37:11):
Yeah, my bad.

Speaker 4 (37:11):
We got to give our update on the Soul Raw
State though. You know the Yeah, damn right, Soul Rus
State exactly. We'll be competitive. Don't worry about it.

Speaker 6 (37:18):
I've been doing. I'm an ambassador for Soul State.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
Absolutely, am right. We should probably get to break though.
Let's get to break. We got to continue to talk
uh football. We have to look at the matchup for
the Texans against green Bay next.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
This Sean Salisbury show continues.

Speaker 18 (37:37):
Continue, It's gotta be the Is this deesel Off State?

Speaker 5 (38:23):
Now, well that's a disappointment.

Speaker 4 (38:28):
I don't even know who is this. Excuse me, b
yu baby Olahoma State. I'll tell you what, dude. The
Fighting Cougars. Fighting Coug's impressive win last week. The Fighting
Cougar's got a chance. Now the Big twelve is tripping.
You feel me a all over the place. Big Twelve.
The teams that weren't supposed to win it may win it.

(38:50):
It's like Big ten Indiana. We got some we got
some fun stuff.

Speaker 6 (38:53):
You're going to see a couple two or three teams
in the in the twelve that I get at the
beginning that you didn't think you were going to see.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
In the twelve. You ever heard of the six? Yeah?
I heard you got my six? Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 4 (39:08):
Means it got your back dog because six o'clock the
six o'clock position on the clock.

Speaker 6 (39:13):
Oh, thanks, appreciate you. Appreciate you. What if you're laying
upside down? Mm six o'clock because you're looking behind you
even if you just look true right.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
Yeah, I mean objects in the mirror are closer than
they appear when you look in the rear view.

Speaker 5 (39:27):
No, it's not the rear view side.

Speaker 7 (39:29):
That's what I meant.

Speaker 6 (39:30):
I know, dude look simpatico. I am the captain, now
are you?

Speaker 5 (39:34):
I know?

Speaker 6 (39:34):
I just like to say that I had the captain now,
I uh, what's we got one other big game this week?

Speaker 7 (39:41):
What is it?

Speaker 11 (39:42):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (39:43):
More than one? But what's there? There was another huge one,
wasn't there?

Speaker 7 (39:45):
Well?

Speaker 4 (39:46):
So that I mean when you look, I think the
LSU Arkansas game sneaky. Big Alabama Tennessee, that's another big game.
Let's see as far as Georgia and Texas, Kansas State
at West Virginia sneaky.

Speaker 6 (39:59):
Both of those teams were supposed to be at the
top of the heap too in their conference.

Speaker 7 (40:02):
Right.

Speaker 4 (40:02):
Yeah, So originally when you looked at this schedule, the
twelfth of October and the nineteenth of October were supposed
to be a big, big slate of games.

Speaker 5 (40:11):
Michigan Illinois. I mean it's gonna be okay.

Speaker 6 (40:14):
Yeah, you know what, whenever Brett beielimill is involved, you
have a you have Achino. He likes to play physical
and I bet you that's a low scoring game.

Speaker 5 (40:22):
That one's Yeah, the over under set at forty four
and a half. There you go. So what's Texas and
Georgia right now?

Speaker 6 (40:29):
Let's see, I'm going to say that's set in the
mid to upper forties fifty six. They got it up there,
so they think offenses are going to dominate defenses. That's
impressive Texas. If I told you that normally with Georgia,
that the it was going to be sixty plus points
between the two, you'd say, well, is Georgia scoring fifty
of them? But this is Texas, that's there. They are

(40:51):
high powered, and they can beat you in the run game,
and they can beat you throwing it. And think about this.
They started the season, remember what their first three backs
out first three. Yeah, and they're now in a position
and still in a position to win the national title.
Starts doing well. Man doing some good things there, and
they got a pretty well oiled machine.

Speaker 5 (41:07):
I can't wait till Saturday night.

Speaker 6 (41:09):
I'm looking as forward to this game as I am
any game this so far this season.

Speaker 5 (41:14):
I'll be out a wedding. Man.

Speaker 4 (41:16):
Oh yeah, dude, your boys are a buzz kill man.
It's my cousin too, so all my dad's side of
the families coming into town. They got here yesterday. I mean, dude,
it's you know. And the wedding's at six.

Speaker 5 (41:30):
Damn you know.

Speaker 4 (41:33):
I mean it's another wedding that I'm in. I'm in it,
so it's a little different. So he's not doing groomsmen
or bridesmaids, but I'm still quote unquote in it. I'll
be sitting in front row, you know, so humble, a
little bit, a little bit of a humble. And then
in a couple of weeks, I got to go to
another bachelor party, I'm telling you. And then a couple
of weeks after that, I got I'm the best man

(41:54):
in a wedding, So I got to go out of
town again. Boys, I got two more fridays. I'm gonna
be off. Other than that, we're golden. What what a
non working bitch? What do you want me to do
about it?

Speaker 5 (42:05):
You know what?

Speaker 4 (42:05):
Hey, I have been in more weddings and been in
more bachelor parties this year than like.

Speaker 5 (42:10):
I'm good after this. I'm good.

Speaker 4 (42:11):
Tripley get me, uh get me uh one O five three.
The fan on the on the call plays. I got
to talk to Sean.

Speaker 6 (42:18):
And and if one of them wants to come on down,
come on down to take because you know, maybe Jerry's
causing a little trouble. They come on down here and
let loose on Jerry without that.

Speaker 4 (42:27):
Did you see he triple down on it. Listen, I'm
USA today Sports. Of course he did. He tripled down
on it. Of course he did, of course.

Speaker 6 (42:35):
And you know what, good for r J and Sean
there they are not backing off a bit. And I
love the fact that there the business as usual and
Jerry doesn't sign.

Speaker 4 (42:45):
He said it again, he said, hey, these guys, no,
don't you don't.

Speaker 5 (42:48):
What's what's crazy? Is it?

Speaker 6 (42:50):
The thing that's bothersome is that he actually believes all
that and the thing's even more bothersome. You're letting two
guys that work hard, that have great reputation in that
city and have fun and do good radio. You're letting
those two guys affect everything you do. It's there they talk.
See he's not in their head. It's the opposite way around.
Over a tough question. Yeah, well what are we doing here?

Speaker 5 (43:10):
Dude? It's it's what are you doing here? It's embarrassed.

Speaker 6 (43:13):
Can you imagine like the Rooney family getting into a
battle like that with with a local radio show.

Speaker 5 (43:19):
No, I can't. I can't either. Can you just fathom that?

Speaker 6 (43:22):
I mean, it's just yeah, the Lamar Hunt family and uh,
you know, what's the owner's name?

Speaker 5 (43:28):
Now? What's the guy who runs it?

Speaker 7 (43:30):
Now?

Speaker 6 (43:30):
The Sun? It's not Lamar Junior. It's a Clark Hunt.
Clark Hunt all of a sudden getting in an argument
with the local radio station and doubling and tripling down
because they asked, Hey, mister Hunt, do you feel good
about your personnel this year? I know you're you know
you're undefeated, but could your personnel be better? That he'd
beate him and say, you don't know enough about We
can't ask me that and show me up with the

(43:50):
thirty two geniuses in the room, and you guys are
geniuses and you're yay.

Speaker 5 (43:54):
Who's come on, Jerry? Yeah, aren't you? Bart? Is Jerry
eighty two or is he sixteen?

Speaker 6 (44:00):
This is not we're going steady, or we're gonna break
up and not talk to you, or because your politics
are different, we're gonna we're gonna hate you and you're
supposed to hate it.

Speaker 4 (44:08):
But I mean, come been doing it fourteen years. Stop
with that group for a dozen years.

Speaker 5 (44:12):
Just stop. They got questions asked and stuff to do.

Speaker 6 (44:15):
Nobody'd respect them if they didn't do what they did
and stand firm and good on them. And like I said,
I'm tem RJ and team Sean when it comes to this, they.

Speaker 5 (44:23):
Got that's got to be better.

Speaker 6 (44:24):
There's got to be you know, worry about your football
team right now, quol, worrying about guys asking you a
tough question about your crappy ass roster.

Speaker 4 (44:30):
He even brought up Brad and Dale. They were the
play by play guys. Brad Sham Yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess.
Apparently at some point Brad and Dale criticized Jerry and
Jerry forced them to take some time off.

Speaker 6 (44:45):
If you can't criticize without it being per if you
criticize it it's personal, you shouldn't do it. Brad Sham's
been doing Cowboy Games Voice of the Calis for years.
I don't understand. If you're telling our broadcasters they can't
be critical fairly, then we're telling them that we're not
a good broadcast and you shouldn't listen to the local broadcast.

Speaker 5 (45:03):
I'm just telling you.

Speaker 6 (45:04):
If that's what you're telling them and they're not allowed
to be critical, then that's not the right broadcast for you. You're
not getting the full story. Jerry should be ashamed of
himself continuing to triple down. And stop that triple down yet,
because I don't see a lot of people standing in
line with him right now. The only people that are
are afraid that he'll affect their Yeah, yes man, yeah,
well and good on one five, Three's management to sit

(45:26):
right there and put those guys back in the seat
and say no, no, well, we're not running because they ask
you tough questions or they're not good at their job
if they don't.

Speaker 5 (45:32):
Good on Sean and RJ.

Speaker 4 (45:34):
Let's get into the seven o'clock hour. Next on Sports
Talk seven to.

Speaker 8 (45:36):
Eighty K Houston at HD two Houston and iHeart Radio station.

Speaker 1 (45:44):
And the Rocket.

Speaker 3 (45:46):
Sports Talk seven ninety your home for your home teams.

Speaker 5 (45:53):
Say okay, let's do this.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
Sean Salisbury.

Speaker 2 (46:04):
USC truths longtime friend shown Salisbury.

Speaker 1 (46:06):
Brian lo Lima, go Lobos.

Speaker 3 (46:09):
This is the Sean Salsbury Show.

Speaker 4 (46:14):
Texans taking on Green Bay on Sunday. University of Texas
playing Georgia and a big time matchup in the SEC
that is a Tomorrow night. You also have the ALCS
NLCS continuing. The Dodgers are one went away after they
beat down the Mets last night. The Guardians spectacular win

(46:36):
in extra rings on a walk off bomb to beat
the Yankees. Yankee still lead that series two games to one.
Talking about these Texans, Sean traveling to Green Bay, playing
in Lambeau, Jordan Love playing good football for the Packers.
Joe Mixon obviously had a good game last week in
his return to the lineup. Just on this game as

(47:01):
the Texans take take to the road to go to
lamb Boat's a noon kickoffs.

Speaker 5 (47:05):
And you're not playing on the lights or anything like that.
Look well you won't get out of here. Penal turning
it over.

Speaker 6 (47:11):
Yeah, and penalizing yourself ten times with a win and
hopefully they've cleaned those penalties up, go ahead and finished.

Speaker 4 (47:16):
Oh, I was just gonna say, so it's it's it's
a it's a good matchup. Do you think this is
gonna be more so of a lower scoring game or
do you think both offenses gonna just explode?

Speaker 5 (47:27):
Is it a it's a Was it the noon game?

Speaker 12 (47:29):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (47:30):
Yea, it's a new game, right. I don't even know
what the weather is. It's gonna be yeah, I got
the weather. Game time weather kickoff fifty six degrees with
the chance to rain.

Speaker 6 (47:42):
Now, the chance rain could have something to do, you
know the ball and how bad is the rain? Rain
doesn't bother me as long as it's not a deluge,
you know what I'm saying, where it's miserable you can't see,
you know, a foot in front of you. But I uh,
I'll be honest, man, let's say let's say it doesn't rain.
I think this game is a high twenties game. I
think defenses are going to make enough stops. This is

(48:02):
a twenty seven to twenty four, twenty seven to twenty three,
that type of game. To me capable of hanging going
thirty five to thirty one. But I actually think the defenses,
you know, Green Bay is going to be a player
when it comes. If they keep doing what they do,
they'll be hanging around playoff time, and three teams in
that division will be battling. And their quarterbacks really good.

(48:25):
They run the football physical, they've got playmakers on a perimeter,
and he's got great feet, So our defense here will
be challenged. And on the other side of it, you
know he's going to face a defense it's relentless, a
lot of pressures. They I just got to be careful
as a defense not to over commit your pressures. When
I mean over commit that you've got to take good

(48:46):
angles because he will dip and extend plays on the outside,
and he's great throwing the ball. Movement wise, he's he's
really a gifted talent, Jordan love is. So I think
offenses are going to get theirs. And it may be
that one series that you just you know, three and out,
three and out back to back and you open the
door for another team. I must say this is a

(49:07):
game in the mid twenties, mid to high twenties. I
don't think he gets into thirty first one of thirty wins.

Speaker 4 (49:12):
So it looks like side chance of rain wind GUS
of twenty five miles an hours far.

Speaker 6 (49:17):
Now they see there's the problem. That's far. Wind is
far worse than snow or rain.

Speaker 4 (49:21):
It's going to be consistently around twelve to fifty miles
an hour win us up to twenty five. It'll be
sunny and warm. Yeah, fifty some degrees is not cool,
it's great football. Well then it'll actually get up to
around seventy five degrees. Yeah, it's great takeoff around sixty
great football weather. But yeah, the wind now becomes a concern.
And you know what both have. They both have hammers

(49:41):
at running back that can control clocks for you and
put you in And even when people say we you
always want to get the wind. Yeah, for your field
goal kicker and if you want to take deep shots.
But in truth, the wind with the wind can be
a problem throwing balls too, because as a quarterback, your
natural reactions. I don't want to overthrow it because I've
got the wind behind me at twenty miles an hour,
And so what do you do. You short arm it,
you start aiming it, and then the point stays up
and you're not accurate there either, but you'd always rather

(50:03):
go The key is you can't mechanically change what you do.
You got to spin it, you got to get, matter
of fact, mechanically stronger. Tennessee is for guys, winners win
what overthrow with the upper body, not the lower body.
So your mechanics suffer a little bit. But if you
discipline enough to just hey, win with me or win
against me, it's not going to stop. Both of them

(50:24):
have strong enough arms to be successful in inclement weather
as well. Yeah, what's running backs name? Josh Josh ja
I was gonna say Brandon Jacobs. He used to run
for the Giants. Yeah, Josh Jacobs. He's I mean, having
a pretty good season so far for Green Bay. Is
it more about Jordan Lover? Is there more about the
running game for Green Bay?

Speaker 15 (50:44):
Well?

Speaker 5 (50:44):
I think that put it this way.

Speaker 6 (50:47):
If I if the one dimension is that Josh Jacobs
ran for one hundred and forty, I'd be a little
worried if I was the Texans defense, even if Jordan
Love doesn't play great. It's the same thing here if
Joe Mixon wasn't in the lineup and CJ. Stroud had
a really good game, but you only ran the ball
fifteen times for seventy yards or sixty yards? Wouldn't you
be a little more concee how that? I actually think

(51:08):
both teams. If the running back dominates for either team,
it's obviously an advantage for the quarterback too, if that's
the one dimension. As much as I love Stroud and
I know that both he and Love can carry a
team through it if they can't throw it, but you're
not playing against a bad team that you can be
one dimensional, say we can still beat them.

Speaker 5 (51:25):
Right.

Speaker 6 (51:25):
This is if you're playing one dimensional football because the
other is shutting you down, you better hope you're doing
the same thing to one of their dimensions. I would
rather come out of this game saying Jordan Love played well,
but they ran for thirty eight yards on twenty carries,
And I would rather come out of this game saying C. J.
Stroud played really well. They threw it twenty eight times
and Joe Mixon ran for one thirty seven and caught

(51:47):
five balls. Texans win. So that's it. So in truth, Brian,
when you're playing good teams like this, you can't just
defenses are defenses are a bigger disadvance. Why because both
these quarterbacks and run games are both not just efficient,
can be dominant. So the defenses are the ones that
you know, got to limit possessions and the rest of it. So,

(52:09):
but the winner of this game will come out and
you watch the winner of this game obvious turnovers and
all that and stupid penalties. But you'll look at the
statistics on Monday and you'll say, look at the balance
for this team and the production, and look at the
they had one guy but the other guy couldn't. The
team that comes out of this where both dimensions are
working pretty good, give me them, even if the other
quarterback plays great but they don't run it. Give me

(52:31):
the team who comes out saying that's the type of
distribution we want.

Speaker 4 (52:35):
Josh Jacobs averaging about eighty yards on the ground per
game so far.

Speaker 6 (52:38):
And for him, that's that's under who he is. The
one thing I do know in a game that gets
like that, they both have the guy that says we're
gonna have to run it a lot. Because let's let's
say the wins bad and it starts raining sideways. Those
two dudes who can can can do a lot, and
if it's a little rain here, it's an offensive advantage always.

(52:59):
Why Because I know where my cuts are. You as
a defensive back, don't know when I'm coming out of
my break. So you get that quick twig boom.

Speaker 4 (53:06):
You get caught in between and you're outside your inside
leg you're cutting on, or your outside leg when you're
supposed to go inside you're you're not cutting on, but
you're cutting on the inside. You go inside, you slip
fall on the ground, and that equals a big play.
So but they are both I guarantee when those games
you're gonna rely on. And both of them have a sledgehammer.
Those guys are not just a hammer, they're big. That's
a mallet right coming downhill at you. So I can't

(53:27):
wait to see it. I cannot wait to see it.
But I'm gonna put my trust in the guys here
a little more because I think overall they're a better team. Yet,
go ahead and turn it over twice and the Green
Bay Packers will will beat you. I think they got
to play their best game. Looks like for Josh Jacobs
a little bit down compared to the rest of his
other seasons that he's played.

Speaker 5 (53:48):
In the NFL.

Speaker 4 (53:48):
But it's been more efficient this season for him and
the Packers. Yea, and it's been no pretty good year,
just the yards aren't as gaudy. Been a minute since
he's had a quarterback that's been the sad. A quarterback
is good as Jordan Lakas, Right, he had some of
Derek Carr. Right, he had some Derek Carr. But it's
been a minute.

Speaker 6 (54:06):
So he he's got a guy that he doesn't have
to be the burden to carry it constantly to win.
But this is a this is a fun game that
that this is to me.

Speaker 5 (54:17):
They have to.

Speaker 6 (54:17):
Play even better than they They got to play like
they did defensively against Buffalo, and they've got to They've
got to give me a mix of of who they
just beat last week, beat the Patriots the paint, the
way they played against the Patriots, and some of the
way they played against the Colts offensively, and kind of
mix match. I'll tell you what I do need though,
more shots down the field. Yeah, I need more vertical play.

(54:40):
The home run, a backbreaker. Got to have a couple
of those.

Speaker 4 (54:43):
Did you real quick before we get to the stake out,
did you watch any of the Thursday night football game.
I did Saints suck. Dennis An look uninspired. There's no physicality.

Speaker 6 (54:54):
That's that's why when you lose a team, it's not
usually in the like, well, pretty good exodos, it's the
it's the they look just sluggish, like there's no energy.
Dennis Allen, I told you coach defense, Brian, I didn't
think he was mad. I said in the offseason, going
on with Matt and Mascana, I said, I don't think
he's gonna I think at the end of last year,
I said, I'll be surprised if he's back. And it's

(55:14):
no disrespect, but they needed new energy. And the first
two wins, oh there, this they're back to. This is
a Saints Well. The first two wins are less impressive
than the last five losses. They the cars out, don't
If this continues, they won't make it. He won't make
it to January.

Speaker 4 (55:30):
They lost Derek Carr, they lost Taysom Hill, they lost
their left guard, their right guard. They're two top receivers.
I mean they are injury riddled, but just the effort
last night they couldn't tackle me.

Speaker 6 (55:41):
Yeah, they they're and the defense has been their staples.
Since the breeze has been I mean when breeze was there,
they had good defense. Yeah, but the defense is supposed
to be the strength of their team right now. And
if you saw last night, well Ratler was twenty five
to thirty five and did a nice job protecting the
ball for like one hundred and seventy or something yards.
They played horizontal football too much. No big plays for
them for the most part in the passing game, even

(56:02):
though he was efficient. They they've got to be better
if this goes for three or four more weeks, if
the Jacksonville and this goes for two or three more weeks,
and see the reason Mike McCarthy won't go if they
play this bad during the season, because Jerry's eagle won't
let him. He's gonna because that means everybody says, get
rid of him, and he's gonna keep him just to
the odd because that's who Jerry in my opinion, unless
he just unless they're just embarrassing every week. So uh,

(56:24):
you keep an eye on though Doug Peterson watch, in
the Nick Sirianni watch, and the and the for sure
the for sure Dennis Allen watch. We may see more
fire during a season we've seen in a while. Yeah,
I hate it, but we may see it. Bill Belichick,
come on down, son. He might say he's gonna Dallas. Well,
if the Cowboys are smart, he will, wellboys to turn around.

(56:47):
The Cowboys just aren't a great team, right, No, And
Troy made a good point. Lazy route, he goes ceedel
Lamb's got to run routes better. Lazy, Yeah, not doing it.
And Mike, I can tell you this from Troy. Run
a twelve yard route when it's a ten yard route,
Run a fifteen yard route when I asked for an
eighteen yard route, or run a twelve yard comeback when
it's a fifteen yard comeback.

Speaker 9 (57:06):
Wrong.

Speaker 4 (57:06):
Guy on the practice shild to do it too. I'm
just telling he's one of the best man. Yeah, a
matter of fact, he wants to walk down there and
let him know. Now it's fifteen We called it fifteen
yards for a reason, right, And he is a stickler
for that mechanic. So I understand he's probably pissed as
it gets. But Sidi raams got to be better too.
But he also needs some help. They've got no players.
They don't, They really don't. They got a dumbass owner. Yeah, well,
oh he's not dumb.

Speaker 6 (57:26):
Well, he's spending more time worried about a radio show
that asked him a question a fair one, than he
is working on personnel to make his team better.

Speaker 5 (57:33):
He should.

Speaker 6 (57:33):
He should be scouring every waiver wire and getting ready
for the trade deadline right now if he wants to
have a chance.

Speaker 4 (57:37):
Otherwise, Dallas Cowboys are not going to make the playoffs.
I know what he should do. He should go to

Sean Brin and Triple Lee Texans taken on the Green
Bay Packers on Sunday. University of Texas hosting Georgia Saturday Night.
You have h taken on Kansas in football big weekend
ahead of us for the game of football, college and NFL.

(01:00:20):
All right for the stakeout, Sean? You ready for this one?

Speaker 1 (01:00:27):
Sure?

Speaker 5 (01:00:27):
Em? Apparently reportedly, Minimate Park.

Speaker 11 (01:00:36):
Will be.

Speaker 5 (01:00:38):
Changing their name and it's gonna be.

Speaker 4 (01:00:47):
Uh Daykon Park.

Speaker 5 (01:00:51):
Is it Dacon or Dakin dak in Dacon? I don't know.

Speaker 13 (01:00:54):
Yeah, I couldn't tell you.

Speaker 4 (01:00:55):
Dacon is the world's largest air conditioner manufacturer. Carently they
have reportedly they're going to be buying out the contract
from Coca Cola.

Speaker 5 (01:01:03):
Who owns Minute Made.

Speaker 4 (01:01:05):
Minute Made originally signed the naming rights on a thirty
year deal. Looks like Dacon's going to come in buy
that out and it's going to be Daykon Park for
twenty twenty five.

Speaker 6 (01:01:16):
Yeah, so Coca Cails the parent company of the of
Minute Made, right, correct, Dacon Park. There's no way I'll
be honest with you. Maybe I'm out of the loop.
I usually like to have a pretty good idea about
like brand awareness, right, like Syracuse. So the Carrier Dome,
that's Carrier air conditioning. Ironically, you realize heating and air

(01:01:38):
conditioning the Carrier Dome. They didn't have heating air conditioning
in the building, right, Yeah, knew that. Yeah, and that's
the name of the building. I was sweat my you
know what's off? When I went to my very first
game on it was very first game. All the sidelines,
I'm like, why do they call it this? And we
don't have air conated were so it's like one hundred
degrees in here.

Speaker 5 (01:01:57):
But I digress.

Speaker 6 (01:01:58):
I didn't know who. I don't know if it's a
dak in a dec I didn't know brand awareness. This
is obviously a big company and to be able to
come in there and do it, it's awesome. Uh, it's gonna
be weird not calling it mini made. Don't you think
change They're gonna change that whole sign. You know that
you see from fifty nine to sixty nine, that whole sign.
But hey, let's just work on the street.

Speaker 4 (01:02:19):
Though nothing official from the team yet, but there's a
little smoke there.

Speaker 6 (01:02:23):
There's a little smoke. Yeah, that's uh, that's big, man,
that's big. So we've got to make sure we get
that pronunciation because I'm not sure what. I didn't know
what When you said heating, it's hey heating ventilation air conditions, always.

Speaker 5 (01:02:33):
Said h VAC.

Speaker 6 (01:02:34):
Yeah, yeah, so that's correct. I dacon. Yeah, so you
think you're right? All they got to do is call
us up. We'd be happy to do all their commercials
form right here.

Speaker 4 (01:02:43):
So if they if if this does happen and it
becomes Dakeon Park, are they gonna actually fix the AC
in the building because the AC not good got too.

Speaker 6 (01:02:53):
You want to make it for don't you want to
make sure your bell cow sponsor has got everything working
and cooling you off in a hot day? Hell yeah, yeah,
good for them if this. If this works, and it
must be a pretty good chunk of change.

Speaker 5 (01:03:06):
Where do you think their headquarters is.

Speaker 6 (01:03:08):
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning. I'm going to assume they're
a Texas one. They're not the corporate headquarters. Yeah Georgia, No,
Southern California.

Speaker 4 (01:03:19):
No, not even in the country. Oh like Denmark, no, Switzerland, no,
European country. Are different kind of Asia?

Speaker 5 (01:03:29):
Asian. I know you're big in the Asian community, so
you should know they're huge.

Speaker 4 (01:03:35):
Tell me who will where? Osaka, Japan? Okay, qitakup? There
you go, Osaka, Japan, had no idea? Yeah, the made
US Center Building two four twelve, Nakasaki niche quita ku, Osaka, Japan.

Speaker 5 (01:03:52):
I justled.

Speaker 4 (01:03:53):
That's a lot of just say Japan, simplify this. They
entered the North American air conditioning game in two thousand folk.

Speaker 5 (01:04:04):
Oh so they're they're still in their infancy here. I'll
just do what years years ago? Yeah? Good check. That's awesome.
If it works awesome bummer.

Speaker 6 (01:04:12):
You lose minute made, But you know what, that's the
landscape we're in these days.

Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
So you've gone from Enron Field for obvious reasons. You
left that one behind me.

Speaker 5 (01:04:19):
Ken Skilling, you asked that guy about that one and Jeff.

Speaker 4 (01:04:22):
Was his last name? Who then Ron guys? I think
it was did uh Ron guys?

Speaker 5 (01:04:26):
Guy? What are their name?

Speaker 4 (01:04:27):
Ken's Skilling? Jeff Skilling, Ken Skilling? And holy cow, you
know what I'm talking about, right, I know exactly what
you're talking about.

Speaker 5 (01:04:36):
Why am I tripping? Man?

Speaker 4 (01:04:38):
Anyways, I'll get it here in a minute. It was
then it goes to Minimate Park and now apparently it's
going to be taking Park. I don't know how I
feel about it.

Speaker 6 (01:04:50):
Well, you're not gonna feel good about it yet because

Dike and Goodman, Okay, Dyke and Goodman, and they are
a customer of ours, and they have the UH. I
think it's one of the top three largest distribution centers
in the country. It's off the two ninety and Waller

Speaker 20 (01:09:08):
Facility up there.

If you drive by it, if you drive out you know,
northwest Houston, keep driving when you get the wall or
look to your right, you're gonna see this gigantic gi
caan't tic facility anyway. So yeah, and it's funny because
I exercised with the guy on Saturday that works there,
and he he had told me about this about two
weeks ago, and he goes like, there's a rumor, but
I'm hearing this, and I was like, Okay, we'll see
what happens.

Speaker 12 (01:09:31):
When you said it this morning, I was like.

Speaker 19 (01:09:32):
Oh my gosh, I can't believe we're not gonna be
the juice box anymore.

Speaker 6 (01:09:35):
Yeah, Dan, Jonathan, you I mean, I know you're exactly right,
but during the break I looked it up to and
it is. It's we had one of those pronounces. I
want to make sure we get it right. Put some
respect on their name. Dyking is out. It's like it's
like Viking, but without the g and it's dye like
like the hair dye or Pete die golf Diking Dyking dyking.

Speaker 5 (01:09:51):
Okay, there you go.

Speaker 19 (01:09:52):
All the date of the calling. Oh, the date of
the calling correct because.

Speaker 12 (01:09:57):
Headquarters.

Speaker 5 (01:09:58):
Yeah, I know right, I did that pretty well, didn't I?
You know?

Speaker 6 (01:10:02):
And pronunciations I kill it man. Yeah, And there ain't
no ego here. Trying to get something right.

Speaker 4 (01:10:05):
If we don't have want helps corrections, come on, baby
go brand awareness.

Speaker 5 (01:10:10):
So's doing. Yeah, I can appreciate the call. John the
enjoy weekend man. Thanks Jonathan.

Speaker 4 (01:10:14):
I call him Johan sometimes yeoah, yeah, I like John Johan,
call him jon Jay Bone. Yeah, let's talk too. Well,
you just do what they say on John Wick. Jonathan,
you don't know anything about Wick though, you never watched one.
I watched the first one, the movie you've never seen. Yah,
it's fantastic. Why why have you dog?

Speaker 5 (01:10:33):
When he when he gets his dog doing? Why have
you seen them all? John Wick? Why don't bear the lead?
Why have you seen them all? What do you mean
all the Wicks? I don't know for a guy who
like saw that, like who swings off like.

Speaker 8 (01:10:48):
You?

Speaker 5 (01:10:49):
I know, I see the movie.

Speaker 4 (01:10:51):
Yeah, I swing and I see you. Ever you swing
off him and then go see The bee Keeper and
you wouldn't do it. I'm the one who told you
to see the bee Keeper. I've seen it like eight times. Okay,
that's fake news, man. The fact that you love Staateum,
I love him and I actually go support him at
the movies, did I did?

Speaker 5 (01:11:06):
Okay? Have you supported when's the last time you supported
Keanu Reeves? The replacements? You're late to the party. Okay,
that's Wick? All right?

Speaker 4 (01:11:14):
Yeah, I've seen Wick. See if if you want to
see it. Okay, but you'll watch Fast in the Furious
Tokyo Drift like twelve times.

Speaker 5 (01:11:21):
That's the worst one.

Speaker 4 (01:11:21):
That's why I said it absolutely not, no way. My
favorite is with the country boy from New War they had.

Speaker 5 (01:11:27):
I mean, he's he's rolling into.

Speaker 4 (01:11:29):
Tokyo Drift to drift like what we do. He's on
n cis New Orleans, Yeah, and there is no Hey,
that's uh. He's the quarterback in the long shower. Oh yeah,
not the long short Friday night lights. Yeah, he's no,
it's but he's n cis New Orleans.

Speaker 5 (01:11:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:11:43):
And this was after, obviously Tokyo Drift.

Speaker 5 (01:11:45):
But he took that news. Yeah he took that. Did
that accent all the way to Tokyo Drift with it? Yeah? Yeah,
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:11:53):
Middle Country Bumpkin have seven seven ninety Alex morning.

Speaker 21 (01:12:01):
More than fellas trying to get in here early today.
Happy Friday to y'all. Let's start the weekend off right.
A couple of things. I'm glad that other caller called
in because he's gonna know more about dyking than I will.

Speaker 5 (01:12:13):
But yeah, they're pretty big out in Waller. Is that
out there by?

Speaker 9 (01:12:17):
Like?

Speaker 7 (01:12:18):
Is it out?

Speaker 4 (01:12:18):
Isn't there a big ass Igloo warehouse out there too?

Speaker 6 (01:12:22):
The Igloo warehouses off I ten passed bucket and across
from across from a huge huge it's across from rooms.

Speaker 4 (01:12:31):
To go rooms, the massive ass rooms to go out there. Okay,
I'm thinking I tend not to ninety Okay, I got you.

Speaker 21 (01:12:36):
The diking facilities out on two ninety between Benford Road
and Kickapoo Road on the right.

Speaker 7 (01:12:46):
With you.

Speaker 11 (01:12:48):
But no, guys, I figured i'd.

Speaker 21 (01:12:50):
Call in, you know, start my weekend off right since
it's starting early today for me, I'm leaving work earlier
today to go out of town. But i have a
question for y'all, and I'm curious to see if y'all's
opinions are the same or if y'all differ on this
when it comes to football, Sean, with you being a quarterback,
would y'all rather have a quarterback who every week goes in,

(01:13:11):
goes twenty two for twenty two and throws for two
hundred and fifty yards or a running back who does
forty carries a game but averages eight to nine yards
per carry with every snap he gets.

Speaker 5 (01:13:24):
Oh man, that's all I got for y'all.

Speaker 15 (01:13:26):
Fellas, y'all have a wonderful weekend.

Speaker 5 (01:13:28):
Hit him straight this weekend, Sean. If you go, oh, yeah,
I'm playing, I played yesterday. Play get Alex.

Speaker 6 (01:13:33):
Thank you, Alex, Appreciate you, brother, I personally now listen,
I want both twenty two to twenty two every game.
I'm gonna tell you this first off, I'm assuming when
we say forty carries a game, doing what he's doing
nine yards of carry that my back can hold up. Right,
we're assuming it's superman back there, right, give me, give

(01:13:53):
me the running back. If I'm getting those kind of
yards every week at nine yards of carry all day,
because my quarter back then can go sixteen to thirty,
sixteen to twenty eight, we're beating you so bad. And
like I've always said, nine yards of carry on forty carries,
you are your soul is left on the ground. If
you're a defense and you are, you're quite frankly, you're embarrassed.

(01:14:14):
Because there's what's what's worse, getting finessed or physically manhandling
a sport right, getting your ass wo you get beat
by a cunny thumber in baseball, it's like, okay, damn it.
Usually snapping it outside and bounce the balls, and guys
are undisciplined, right swinging at non competitive strike. Now a
guy who comes in there and pounds fat and I'm
talking about is wearing your ass out in the strike

(01:14:35):
zone and staring at you while.

Speaker 5 (01:14:36):
He does it. That's the worst. That's that's a soul
state you can do about.

Speaker 6 (01:14:39):
Yeah, that's those body blows and that's the're running as
a quarterback. I'll still give me the gimme the thumper.
I'll take the run game. Nine yards of carry on
forty carries. They won't see the ball, they won't see
the football on their offense. They'll get about six series.
So yeah, no, that means I'm physical. I can have
a good quarterback with that run game. If I have

(01:15:01):
a great quarterback with a bad run game, you're not
gonna win as much. Just look around, throw for four
hundred yards and still lose. Give give me the r
I don't know what you think. Yeah, I want the
physicality of it.

Speaker 5 (01:15:15):
Man, nine yards you're carrying the beat down.

Speaker 6 (01:15:16):
Yeah, there's nothing worse because you go home like when
you get out Physics kicked our ass at home in
front of my wife and kids and everybody else.

Speaker 5 (01:15:22):
What an embarrassment. That's embarrassing, of course it is when
you get manhandled like that.

Speaker 6 (01:15:25):
Oh come on, man, Yeah, there is absolutely Know when
a hundred mile an hour guy says I'm throwing it
right here and you're not hitting it, and then the
cunning thumber throws.

Speaker 5 (01:15:32):
You're like, oh, come on, dude, throw me a fast ball. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:15:34):
That's how you finis when you get manhandled and get
ninety blown by you time after time after time.

Speaker 6 (01:15:40):
It's like damn being bullied. Not in real life, but
in a game. It is not fun. It is not
fun to get physically manhandled. That again, I'm deelling right now.
In the NFL and the and the college football the
national champion and the Super Bowl champion, they may have
a good quarterback, but they will have somehow offensively or
defensively physically worn you down. And that's Chiefs did that
last year because they want a great off last year. No,

(01:16:00):
I weren't great quarterback, great time, but they weren't a
great offense. They were a phenomenal defense last year. Yeah,
Chris Jones led the way and uh, oh my gosh.

Speaker 4 (01:16:09):
Spagnolo still, I still think he's one of the most
underrated defensive coordinators in the game.

Speaker 6 (01:16:13):
I think right now you can make an argument that
he's the very best. And Brian Flores is putting up
a game. Brian Flores is gonna get head coaching uh
opportunities again because his defense is playing. They are aggressive
and they get after and get we get We love
aggressive defensive coordinators.

Speaker 9 (01:16:28):
You know what.

Speaker 6 (01:16:28):
I'm saying that pressure all the time. But the thing
about Spagnola. He's been as good a big game defensive
coordinators we've had in a long time.

Speaker 5 (01:16:35):
Yeah, there's no doubt about it.

Speaker 4 (01:16:36):
You know who else needs to get some pub is
what's the defensive coordinator for the Broncos, Vance Joseph.

Speaker 5 (01:16:42):
Yeah, Dance, he's been Vance has been doing it pretty
good for a minute.

Speaker 4 (01:16:45):
They got you know they have a top five defense.
Oh yeah, number four, right behind the Texans at number three.

Speaker 5 (01:16:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:16:50):
Vant, that's why he every year comes around, he gets
considered again to be a head coach. He was the
head coaching Denver for a minute for a couple of years.
Remember they're leading the league again, head.

Speaker 5 (01:16:57):
Coaching Denver, and then came back with shat do. I
wasn't he that didn't that way hire him?

Speaker 7 (01:17:01):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 6 (01:17:01):
And then he went and it's been a couple of
the places and Sean brought him back. I I thinks
Vance Joseph's outstanding and he again will get more mentions
because he's taking this defense and got him playing at
another level and really keeping him alive out there.

Speaker 5 (01:17:13):
Yeah, they're they're they're number one in sacks. Yeah, getting
after it.

Speaker 4 (01:17:17):
It's unbelievable. It's I mean, it's it's just underrated, which
is is pretty crazy, Arlen said, I get to break.
Seven one three, two two five, seven ninety is the
number of joint will continue to take your calls.

Speaker 5 (01:17:26):
Next on Portlock seven ninety.

Speaker 1 (01:17:31):
Sean Salisbury continues on seven ninety.

Speaker 4 (01:18:05):
What about gonna shun Salisbury Show? Here on Sports Top
seven eighty Sean Brand.

Speaker 5 (01:18:09):
And Triple Lee. Let's get back out to the phone line.

Speaker 4 (01:18:11):
Seven one, three two, seven ninety is the number to
join start off with Brandon Brandon.

Speaker 11 (01:18:17):
Good morning, Marne and Brian, welcome back.

Speaker 5 (01:18:20):
Thank you appreciated, Good morning, how you guys. We're good. Brandon.
What's on your mind this morning?

Speaker 10 (01:18:27):
I'm okay, I'm astress for next season?

Speaker 5 (01:18:31):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 10 (01:18:33):
Are we thinking and getting a new picture or do
we need a new first basement?

Speaker 5 (01:18:40):
Do you need a new first basement? Brandon, You're gonna
have plenty of pictures of returning.

Speaker 4 (01:18:44):
You need a bunch of healthy pictures of what you
need and guys can come back and repeat what they
did last year.

Speaker 5 (01:18:48):
Yep.

Speaker 10 (01:18:49):
Okay, Do we know who we're gonna get for a
first basement?

Speaker 5 (01:18:53):
No, we have no idea.

Speaker 10 (01:18:56):
I guess we can find out later, we sure can.

Speaker 5 (01:18:59):
Who do you you got Texans or Packers this weekend?

Speaker 10 (01:19:03):
I'm going for Texans for this weekend.

Speaker 4 (01:19:06):
Good Brandon, Hey, enjoy your weekend, buddy. We'll talk to
you on Monday. All right, all right, thanks Brandon. Let's
talk to Conrad James and then we'll get to Kevin.
Conrad James, good morning, how you doing?

Speaker 7 (01:19:16):
Okay? I have three quick questions. Okay. One, I'm a
Jet fan and a Texas fan.

Speaker 22 (01:19:23):
Okay, wasn't that play reviewable in the end zone where
Rogers connected in the back and it was so obvious
the guy was in bound and they ruled not a touchdown?

Speaker 7 (01:19:37):
Okay, So my question is it wasn't not reviewable? Second?
Is it? What do you think about these Dodgers? Is
there anybody that can beat them?

Speaker 22 (01:19:45):
Because they looked invincible last night a fitting I went
to bed and I said, Ben, this is over. It's
a done deal. Okay, And uh let me see, Oh, yes,
can the Astros? Why isn't the Astros tapping into some
of this Japanese talent?

Speaker 18 (01:20:07):
Man?

Speaker 7 (01:20:07):
These guys can play some baseball.

Speaker 22 (01:20:10):
And the only Japanese player I can remember us ever
having is uh Kokuchi.

Speaker 7 (01:20:16):
And he did a great job.

Speaker 22 (01:20:17):
I don't know if he's coming back or not, but
I think we're missing a lot of talent by not
looking at the Japanese market.

Speaker 7 (01:20:23):
I'll hang up and listen.

Speaker 6 (01:20:25):
Yeah, it looks like Yamamoto's getting his stuff right. He's
just what three hundred and twenty five million of money,
the highest paid pitcher ever, right, and he's got He's
got some stuff though too. Now and that yes, there's
a there's Japanese players every year that you're like, gosh,
this guy is I mean they got a billion dollars
between two guys. Yeah there from Japan and right, both
really good players. The most unique and best player we've

(01:20:48):
ever seen in Otani and now you know young Moto.
But yeah, that's a good question. They tap the international market,
you know what I'm saying. Quite often they do, but
I don't know, you've been here long, have a lot
of not a lot of the Japanese players here.

Speaker 4 (01:21:04):
Yeah, the astros have a lot of connections with great
scouting and Latin play.

Speaker 6 (01:21:08):
That's the Latin that's point in the Japanese players, right,
And who knows, maybe at some point they will jump
into that fray and you know the point where you
used you have to negotiate to get them and then
you got to pay, you know, to get them away
from their contract and and roll that way.

Speaker 5 (01:21:22):
So it's a good question. Secondly, well, yes, three jets
play in the back of the end zone should if
you have.

Speaker 6 (01:21:29):
A review left, if it's inside of two minutes, that's
on the upstairs for them to decide to reviewable play.

Speaker 5 (01:21:34):
And yes, it's reviewable. It's a judgment call, aren't they all?

Speaker 6 (01:21:37):
But that is a reviewable play to see if you
if your feet are down, but if you've already used
your you know your red flags and it's not inside
two minutes and I don't even remember the situation of
the game with the time was do you or who
had read? But that, yes, it's reviewable unless I guess
if it's not inside two minutes and you don't throw
the red flag, they're not going to review it. But

(01:22:00):
like college are I think, aren't all scoring plays reviewable
in the NFLFLA. Sometimes they kind of go together with
me with college and the rules, you know what I'm saying.
I wish they were uniformity, but that would be the
smart thing to do, right And well, OK, would you
rather have two feet and bounds or one feet and
bounds in the NFL. I'm shocked at the NFL is
not one foot one for more for more points because
they love offense, it'd be pretty cool. But I like

(01:22:24):
the two feet because you make that receiver have to
work and it has to be precise in dynamics.

Speaker 5 (01:22:28):
And they're so good that they get it done anyway,
and no doubt about it. Now, what was number three? Yes, one,
two and three?

Speaker 9 (01:22:34):
There was?

Speaker 5 (01:22:35):
Was it Texans? Was it doll the Dodgers?

Speaker 1 (01:22:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:22:37):
Can anybody beat him? Well, the Yankees can compete. Here's
what the depth of the Dodgers.

Speaker 5 (01:22:42):
I mean.

Speaker 6 (01:22:43):
But the Yankee Severino's pitching good baseball. They yes, they can,
and Rodin they can. I just think the Dodgers are
a far more selective team at the plate then they
work pitchers. I mean they they're disciplined at the plate,
a little a little more disciplined than you're gonna get
from New York. Yankees can handle them, and the Cleveland
Indians or the Guardians can handle them. Tall come on here, whatever, Yeah,

(01:23:06):
the Cleveland Indians or Cleveland.

Speaker 5 (01:23:07):
Guardians, whatever you prefer, that's up to you can't play
with them.

Speaker 6 (01:23:11):
But yes, if the Dodgers play their best, they're gonna
be a tough out. And the way they're playing now,
what they've got ten eight except and then their three wins.
Aren't they averaging like eight runs a game? It's eight
and a half runs a game.

Speaker 5 (01:23:21):
Or something like half.

Speaker 4 (01:23:22):
I think Severin's pitching well for the Mets, though, what
I say, Yeah, yes, that's exactly right. Road on, Yes,
that's exactly.

Speaker 6 (01:23:28):
Right because he didn't he didn't have to leave go
far from Queens, from h from the Bronx to Queens.
But I've said, you're thinking about him, and you're exactly right.
That's in the other series. But he is against the
Dodgers as opposed to the Dodgers in the World Series.
But thek and you know what, Cleveland's got enough pitching
to hang in there if they're doing right from their
whole staff. But they're they just to me, they just

(01:23:52):
kind of hang around a little more. But the Yankees
are a bit more capable because they a lot of power,
but they're less selective.

Speaker 5 (01:23:58):
Yeah, and that's a great point. But he is for
the Mets.

Speaker 6 (01:24:01):
I mean, do which the other night he's challenging people.
But the dog that Dodger Series is over, you're not
gonna see much more. No, uhh No, they're they're gonna
go to the World Series, right, that's absolutely I just
I don't want a Dodgers. You're gonna get it Yankees.

Speaker 4 (01:24:16):
Well, I don't know, Man, that game last night at
a little bit.

Speaker 5 (01:24:20):
Of confidence and rolling the next game. So but I
can be hard pressed.

Speaker 9 (01:24:24):
Now.

Speaker 6 (01:24:24):
The Mets have had some miracle goes this year, man,
But rolling off three straight against a team that's raking
right now, tough man.

Speaker 1 (01:24:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:24:33):
Plus, Plus, look, if the Dodgers don't win the World Series,
it's a failed season.

Speaker 6 (01:24:37):
Yeah, they have to win it. Just gets you have
to win it or it's like, oh here we go again.
All that money in that payroll and the look quite frankly,
the Yankees payroll says they need to be in it too. Okay,
if you're going by payroll, right, but payroll doesn't always
get hits and and strikeouts and prevent walks and clutch it.
But Cleveland was clutched last night, and the Dodgers been
doing their things.

Speaker 15 (01:24:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:24:57):
Plus, I think the way that Mookie Betts is swinging
it Jo Tani. If they continue to swing it like
that offensively, it's gonna it's going to We might not
see Dave Roberts fumble something. Well, it might win it
in spite of him. That's what I'm saying. We're going
because they're so every postseason he screws something up. Whether
it's a pitching change or a bullpen decision I'm sorry,

(01:25:20):
a starting pitching change or a bullpen decision, he always
screws something up.

Speaker 6 (01:25:24):
I think he recognizes recognizes the importance of not just
getting there.

Speaker 5 (01:25:31):
Yeah he is. With those guys. You don't need to
over manage him. They're good enough all the way around
to win games.

Speaker 6 (01:25:37):
But managing the pitching is the most inportant because those
you know, you want to adjust like they did the
other day. They ad just line up with maximuntsy up,
moved Smith back in the lineup, and right now it
doesn't matter whatever they're doing. They score runs on a
regular basis, and there's so much power in the lineup
from both sides of the plate.

Speaker 4 (01:25:52):
Yeah, we got Mookie Bets, Freddie Freeman and Shoho Tani
on the same lineup.

Speaker 5 (01:25:57):
It's just stupid, stupid, and you want to get that
guy as many plate appearance as you can. I don't
blame him. Ridiculous man, you think you bet on it?

Speaker 6 (01:26:04):
No, but I should have yeah, same, I should have
some time now Fiell borrowing me some of his money.

Speaker 4 (01:26:09):
I won't even tell him it was from him, right, No, exactly.
That's just like what Mishara did you know out now
he's hanging out. Sounds like a my bars. That's the uah.
That's what Interret's interpreted, right yeah, yeah, yeah guy, Yeah,
it's fall guy.

Speaker 5 (01:26:23):
You got to have a fall. You've got to have
a fall, guys, right right, let's.

Speaker 4 (01:26:26):
Get in the eight o'clock hour talking Texans, Green Bay Packers.
Also coming up at a thirty NFL Insider Aaron Wilson

Okay, let's do this.

Noon kickoff up at lambeau Field.

Speaker 4 (01:27:16):

dk R in Austin, Texas, big matchup. We're gonna have
Barrett Sally join us at nine thirty. College football insider
and experts. You can catch them on XM satellite radio

(01:27:38):
breaking down all of college football is coming up at
nine thirty this morning. Seven one, three, two five, seven
ninety is the number to join. Let's go back out
to the phone lines. Kevin, good morning, Yeah, Hey, how
y'all doing good man? What's on your mind?

Speaker 11 (01:27:52):
I just had a quick Cowboys question.

Speaker 5 (01:27:54):
I wanted to know how come Jerry Jones being eddioted
on the phone is big news.

Speaker 17 (01:27:58):
But Dak Chriscott being the high played player in football
telling fans they can go ahead and jump off the bandwagon.

Speaker 8 (01:28:03):
If they want to when he's putting up four fantasy
points isn't a bigger deal.

Speaker 5 (01:28:10):
Well, I.

Speaker 6 (01:28:12):
You're you're asking me to I mean, I love the question, Kevin,
but it's the Cowboys and Jerry's not.

Speaker 5 (01:28:18):
Gonna personnel you don't have, or is it personnel you
do have. Both.

Speaker 6 (01:28:23):
They don't have enough personnel to be great, and some
of the personnel they have underachieves. I can tell you this,
Jerry's not gonna apologize for giving him the contract. Why
because it's in its infancy and that would be admitting
a mistake a couple a couple months into fifty five
million or whatever a year. That's that's never going to
come out of his mouth. And he's never gonna complain
about his GM skills. Well that's well he thinks he does.

(01:28:46):
That's the whole thing here. So yeah, and Jerry, I
think Jerry thinks the fans are all in at times.
And you know what, they questioned the coach, They questioned
the decision. He did nothing in the offseason.

Speaker 5 (01:28:55):
So I'm with you.

Speaker 6 (01:28:56):
But the one thing you're never going to get out
of Jerry for the most part is mid guys that
are there were a mistake, because that would be a
slap in his own face. Even though we all know
that there's some there's some internal talent problems on that
football team.

Speaker 5 (01:29:11):
Work ethic, but like you know what that I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:29:14):
I mean, well, it's easy for us to stay here,
But I don't know how what they're doing there office.

Speaker 5 (01:29:18):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:29:19):
I think Dak works. I would imagine Ceedee Lamb puts
his time in Zach Martin.

Speaker 5 (01:29:24):
I think they do. I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:29:26):
How do we judge? And I'm not being smart ass, Kevin,
I'm curious how do we judge from our seat? If
they got work ethic now they lack and energy? Yeah,
but I don't know how they practice.

Speaker 21 (01:29:35):
So how many people have I heard Ceedee Lamb being
called lazy this week?

Speaker 6 (01:29:39):
Well, now if we say they, when when we say
that they're laid their work ethic.

Speaker 5 (01:29:43):
If it's number one receiver, yeah, now number one Troy troynk.

Speaker 6 (01:29:49):
Well, I mean, but when we say they, you're talking
about those two guys in particular. I've never heard anybody
say Dak doesn't work as far as Ceedee Lamb. Aikman
said it. He's a lazy route runner and he needs
to be a better route runner. So whether it's lazy
and coming out the ball, what's that?

Speaker 7 (01:30:04):
And said?

Speaker 5 (01:30:05):
And Dak is the best teammate in football, So that
doesn't translate to the.

Speaker 6 (01:30:10):
Right, but they're not gonna make They're stuck with it
because nobody's gonna take that contract on in a trade
right now. So this is what they're stuck with down Bill.
See the and Dak are gonna be around a minute
because they both got paid this offseason.

Speaker 5 (01:30:20):
So I'm with you, man, I think they're talent.

Speaker 13 (01:30:22):
The way he treated the fans be a better story.

Speaker 6 (01:30:25):
Oh there's no doubt. But he that's Jerry thinks. Because
it's the Cowboys, they're going to show up no matter what.

Speaker 5 (01:30:30):
Yeah, right there, you go buy those tickets.

Speaker 13 (01:30:32):
Yeah, you'll have a great day you came to.

Speaker 5 (01:30:34):
Uh yeah, he was referring to Dak Prescott.

Speaker 9 (01:30:38):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:30:38):
He said it twice now in July at Cowboys training camp.
He uh said that, Uh, Cowboy fans that are frustrated,
they can just go ahead and jump off. Be fans
or don't be fans. Sorry obviously, but the loss hurt
us more than it did. Uh so yeah, move on.
He also then said exit if you.

Speaker 5 (01:30:56):
Want see what happens.

Speaker 6 (01:30:59):
You know what it's tells me when you start to
do it, Dak or you know, And I was speaking
of Jerry. Jerry thinks they're going to show up because
marketing is please. But if you're the quarterback, why would
we give him a hall pass on that? Why do
these guys like like Sirianni and Dak Prescott, why did
they keep saying to their home crowd put it this way,
some of the product they've put on the field is

(01:31:20):
not only booable, it's trash is I agree? So why
in the world are you so worried about somebody booing
I know how you fix booze.

Speaker 5 (01:31:27):
Play well on the road. Booze are great, means you're
playing well.

Speaker 6 (01:31:31):
That's sign of respect and just that's the way it is,
because they know who you are at home when they're
booing you, it's a tough thing, but you got to
deal with it until you put a better product on
the field. And they pay that kind of money for
a ticket and fifty dollars for a beer. Guess what
they can boow you if you're not playing well and
you never win the argument over and we all get
frustrated and we're booted at home.

Speaker 5 (01:31:48):
But there's a reason.

Speaker 6 (01:31:50):
And whether you like it or not, if you're performing well,
be well under where you're supposed to be, they are
going to boo you and then to turn around and
respond to it. The Siriannis and the Dak Prescott's of
the world. Stop it, man, and stop telling the fans.
What good does it to say, well, if you want
to get off, get off. Well if you want to play, well,
that would help.

Speaker 5 (01:32:07):
Him stay on.

Speaker 6 (01:32:10):
Okay, true fans can be true fans, but do it
from home. They'll always have to go to the stadium
because they feel like they're getting ripped off to spend
seven hundred eight hundred thousand dollars on a weekend where
they can sit at home and watching in the middle
of the first quarter. Turn it off after you're taking
an ass whooping. Can't do that at the stadium, No,
you can't.

Speaker 5 (01:32:24):
So save it the.

Speaker 6 (01:32:25):
Guys who constantly are after home fans for booing. You'd
just focus on something else. Focus on something else, like
winning games.

Speaker 5 (01:32:35):
Yeah. Remember when.

Speaker 4 (01:32:37):
The Texans fan base was in such up in arms
about Bill O'Brien and cal McNair being the owner Jackie
Easter be everybody like collectively as a fan base was saying,
we'll stop going to the game, stop buying merchandise, stop
buying beer, stop doing this, stop doing that. I saw
the same thing all week from Cowboy fans. Stop going
to games. If you're that upset with ownership, stop going
with game because we all know Jerry Jones ain't selling ever.

(01:33:01):
That will never happen. He will die as the Cowboys owner.
Nothing's gonna change until ownership changes, and it's not gonna change.
So if you're a Cowboy fan and you're that upset,
stop going to games.

Speaker 6 (01:33:14):
Yeah, and there's no doubt that's the way it does stop.
I mean people will say I'm not I'm done, I'm done,
and still show up right now, if you have season tickets,
I get it that you've already invested it. But if
you're going, if you want it to stop, and you
want empty seats, then you have to play it's they're
still gonna sell tickets, They're still gonna show up. But
the ones who want to stop then are tired of

(01:33:34):
seeing a bad product. You have only one way to
stop it. Watch it on your TV. There you go,
or don't watch it all if that's the case. But
you can't complain, complain and play I'm done with what,
I'm done with him, and keep showing up every week
and complain and they're putting a horrible product on the field. Yeah,
they've got good players, but the parts are better than
the sum. The sum's not good at all round.

Speaker 4 (01:33:51):
It's not seven one three, two two five seven ninety Terry,
good morning, Hey, good morning.

Speaker 23 (01:33:56):
I just wanted to tell you that my husband and
I are both Soul Ross graduates, and my my nineteen
year old is playing volleyball.

Speaker 5 (01:34:01):
There, let's go, let's go.

Speaker 4 (01:34:06):
So your daughter's playing for coach Canaba for the daughter, yes, yeah,
an yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:34:11):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 23 (01:34:12):
So she We're going to San Angelo to watch her
play in just a little bit and then they're going
to be at Love It Christian tomorrow. But I wanted
to say how much I loved your show. And I
used to be only involved in your show during baseball season.
I would turn it off and I would never listen
to it until baseball season. I know you don't want
to hear that, but that's so true. And now I'm sold.

(01:34:33):
I'm in for the Texans, and I just think you
guys are doing.

Speaker 15 (01:34:35):
A great job.

Speaker 5 (01:34:36):
Thank you. Can I ask a question? Can I ask
a question for you? And thank you?

Speaker 6 (01:34:39):
And awesome for your family. Terry one is and I've
always wanted this. Okay, so during baseball? Why did you
turn it off? After baseball? Frustration with baseball or just
foot Are you not as big a football fan? Why
would you turn it off? I'm just curious.

Speaker 7 (01:34:53):
Yeah, I'm not a football fan, and now I am
so awesome.

Speaker 23 (01:34:56):
So when the Texans like crazy.

Speaker 6 (01:34:58):
Now nobody's going to cover the nobody's going to cover
the Texans with fair analysis better than we are, right
right exactly, and we make you laugh too.

Speaker 5 (01:35:06):
That's the key.

Speaker 4 (01:35:07):
You're entertained, right, You see how I'm fishing for you
to stay on and again we watch out for each other,
you know what I mean. That's exactly all right. I
think I think that is awesome. So thank you for
the comment, and we hope you're here forever. We'll give
you good football talk and we'll be really stupid along
the way, so we appreciate your joy about it.

Speaker 5 (01:35:25):
Thanks Terry. Hey, good luck to you to the Lady
Lobos this weekend. Terry, Yes, thank you, Terry. Yeah, look
at that. What's what's your giving me? What's your hand signal?

Speaker 10 (01:35:35):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:35:35):
Your gun's up? No, well you go, double finger, double
fingers two in the thumb dog. Hey, lady Lobo's volleyball
had a big, big win. Uh, what are you doing?
What are y'all doing?

Speaker 9 (01:35:50):
Yes?

Speaker 6 (01:35:51):
Yeah, yeah, but looks like it looks like a Star
Trek signal. Hey whatever, you guys are out of this world.
I'm just saying Larry Lobos, is that what you call him?

Speaker 15 (01:36:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:36:01):
Man, I think there's a lot of disrespect being going
on for for the Ross the Pine. Dude, you deserve better.

Speaker 4 (01:36:12):
I've been saying it, Cash, I'm with you, dog, I've
been saying it for entirely too long.

Speaker 6 (01:36:18):
Okay, since basketball's rounds, we get ready to go to break.
You want a wealthy, useless stylage, Yes, of course. On
March eighteenth, nineteen sixty eight, here's a line from a player.
Fifty three points, thirty two rebounds, fourteen assists, twenty four
block shots, and eleven steals in one game. What Wilt

(01:36:41):
Chamberlain at seven foot?

Speaker 5 (01:36:46):
That's just stupid.

Speaker 6 (01:36:47):
Well, there you go, as basketball get ready to start,
you think that that guy doesn't at least belong somewhere
in the goat And he was big and physical somewhere
in the goat competition.

Speaker 4 (01:36:54):
Yea, we played beach volleyball too decent line. Hey, how
many steels you have?

Speaker 18 (01:36:59):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (01:36:59):
I had a well what do we call that? That's
got to be a who know does trace quadrus? Is
that a sinko double?

Speaker 5 (01:37:04):
Sinko double? Yeah, sounds about right.

Speaker 6 (01:37:06):
Fifty three points, thirty two rebounds, fourteen assists, twenty four
block shots, and eleven steals in a basketball game in
nineteen sixty eight. And he did it from the center
position at seven foot one.

Speaker 5 (01:37:17):
Okay, it's not bad. There you go, there you go.
It's not bad.

Speaker 4 (01:37:20):
But I'll say soul Ross State deserves Hey, lady Lobo
is taking on Angelo State tonight.

Speaker 5 (01:37:26):
Number fourteen in the country is ASU. So you know
you do though when you go again? Then tomorrow at
Lubbock Christian come on now, Yeah, and you know what
you guys do when you all get together. I know
what you guys do.

Speaker 9 (01:37:36):
What do we do?

Speaker 5 (01:37:37):
Throw out all the records? Well we do?

Speaker 9 (01:37:41):
We do?

Speaker 6 (01:37:42):
So I need more from you, Yeah, we need I
need more. I need more donations from you for the
for the university.

Speaker 5 (01:37:48):
I really do well. Don't hold my breath. They better
start recognizing.

Speaker 6 (01:37:52):
So you want to start winning? I did well, damn right.
Our first Lady Lobos probably do win though, Okay, they don't.

Speaker 4 (01:37:59):
Uh, they're struggling this year. Listen, I expect all sports
to struggle this year. It's the first year in the
lone Star Conference, first year playing Division two sports.

Speaker 5 (01:38:07):
So they jump, man, you know what, they jump?

Speaker 4 (01:38:10):
And granted Cannaba, she's a rookie head coach. The Canabi
name is a legend legendary name in Alpine. Her dad
is the head softball coach. They will, you know what
they'll do ross state. They will, They'll have great growth,
they win these tough times. Yeah, allion dollarships. Now, come on, now,
we're on the up and up. Don't don't look now,
we'll be in the whack here pretty soon. If the

(01:38:31):
wax is the whack even around anymore?

Speaker 9 (01:38:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:38:34):
Is it Mountain West? Isn't the wack conference?

Speaker 15 (01:38:36):
Still?

Speaker 4 (01:38:37):
I think they've just disassembled that just well, good luck
to you guys. Yeah, or maybe Conference USA. Oh yeah,
check that out. Man, with you Lobo alumni all across
the lone Star State and beyond. You don't put a
respect onto us. I'm trying to learn to.

Speaker 5 (01:38:57):
Yeah, well you need to learn quick, you know what
I mean? Yeah, I'm with you.

Speaker 4 (01:39:00):
Doug seven one three two one two five seven ninety.
We'll get back out to your phone. Get back out
to the phone lines taking your calls. Next on Sports
Talk seven and eight, let.

Speaker 3 (01:39:09):
The celebration start war Sewn Salisbury to Sewn Salisbury Show.

Coming up next.

Speaker 4 (01:39:32):
Segment at eight thirty, NFL insider Aaron Wilson is going
to join the show. Talk Texans and Green Bay Packers.
You're listening to the Shawn Salisbury Show. Sean, Brian and Tripoli.
Seven one three, two one two five seven ninety is
the number to join talking NFL Biscuit.

Speaker 5 (01:39:49):
Welcome in.

Speaker 24 (01:39:50):
Good morning, Hey, Top of the Morning, umbrosas. Hey, Hey Sean,
I'm with you man. For the life of it, I
can't understand why we'll of them get the just do it.
Just seemed like people always want to dismiss all his numbers.

Speaker 15 (01:40:06):
I'm like, man, that's to do what he did.

Speaker 24 (01:40:09):
I don't care. I don't care. If he's playing kids,
that was incredible to do something you can't.

Speaker 6 (01:40:15):
Yeah, if he was playing against boys club team, a
boys club team, just a matter of mere minutes in
a game make it difficult to do all that, You
know what I'm saying, Being that many places, phenomenal I
think in the whole big scheme of things, biscuit if
I don't know why Wilt's not in the goat talk
because it's not fashionable with you know what I'm saying.
I he was this dominant matter of fact, and he

(01:40:38):
did it at a time when centers were I mean
you know you yeah, Abdul Jabbar and Bob Lanier, I
mean late you know, early Lane, Nate Thurman, artist Gilmour,
that damn rights guys that would bang and move you around.
It could do both, play both ends, and you had
to play man to man.

Speaker 5 (01:40:55):
It was, it was. It was impressive to watch man.
I don't know why we keep him out of the
goat talk. I just don't know why.

Speaker 24 (01:41:03):
It's just, you know, I guess because most of the
people that are forming the gold talk nowadays wasn't around.

Speaker 5 (01:41:10):
That's a good point yet.

Speaker 24 (01:41:13):
Shot, Sean, is something I wanted to talk to you about.
I know it's a wide open Friday man, But and
I heard the call and talk about that, and and
and and he rightfully so he should be dogged out
for uh saying comments to the fans or whatever. But
the comment this week, Sean to men, didn't get enough run.
And it's baffling to me, is Aaron Rodgers man that

(01:41:36):
comment he made about Mike Wims, that just tells But
I mean, I haven't seen on the ESPN hardy, you know,
I mean that right there, Sean, that's worse than what
that did. And to throw your teammate under the bus
like that, that just tells me. And then you got
the coach ran out of town. You got one dude demoted.

(01:41:57):
Hey man, I hate to pull against him, but I'm
not pulling for the no way, no how.

Speaker 6 (01:42:02):
Yeah, it was kind of It's kind of weak, isn't it, biscuit?
Because you imagine now reverse it if all of a
sudden they said, man, he can't get me the ball.
He under throws it all the time. Can you imagine
if you bust Toss Rogers with the organization and how
he would do it. You can't do it, especially in
a position of leadership. You take on more responsibility, right,
You just do whether you want it or not, you
just do. And I to me, the lowest thing to do,
aside from steel from a teammate is bus toss one

(01:42:24):
in public. You want to dress him down in private?
Go ahead, you two argue away and get it fixed.
Happens all the time in football. When you do that,
it tells me not only is it fractured, but that's
not challenging a guy that's an embarrassing one.

Speaker 4 (01:42:36):
You don't do it, and I'm with you.

Speaker 5 (01:42:38):
We told what was it, Brian? We talked about on
Wednesday or Tuesday?

Speaker 10 (01:42:40):
Right?

Speaker 5 (01:42:40):
What day did we talk about? Wednesday day?

Speaker 6 (01:42:42):
It just you just can't do it. I don't I
don't ever subscribe to that. And I don't care how
mad you are at your player or disappointed. You just
can't do it. Let somebody else do it. The young
media do it. But then you go behind the scenes
and you talk to him in private. And a guy
that's forty and been in the league all these years,
he should know better. You just don't embarrass your teammate
because he wouldn't want it done to him. I don't

(01:43:03):
care that he's been in the league fifteen, sixteen, seventeen years.

Speaker 24 (01:43:07):
I just can't imagine if shadurs Sanders or you know
what I mean, if somebody else said it, man, we
still be talking about it.

Speaker 9 (01:43:13):
Man.

Speaker 7 (01:43:13):
Oh, That's my only.

Speaker 6 (01:43:15):
Point is there is no doubt and it's the I
confess it's somebody else's fault, you know, I confess he
did it. And I just don't believe that it's necessary
for a coach or a player to publicly now call
out a group say we you got to you know,
use the wei word, right, we got to play better.

Speaker 5 (01:43:29):
We're not we're not physical enough.

Speaker 6 (01:43:30):
When you say we, it's all encompassing when you say him,
that guy, No, man, it's it's because the rest of
your other teammates look at you and think, well, when's
my time coming? When I when I miss a route
or miss when's my time coming? He's going to sell
me out.

Speaker 5 (01:43:44):
But remember he did that in.

Speaker 6 (01:43:45):
Green Bay too, didn't you, Biscuit? Remember how many times
he'd call out his guys. And it's become a trend.
And I don't mind you calling out your guys on
the pracice field and getting him among your group in
a tight knit family type thing, but not in public.
And it's become a trend. And you know what, it's
a semi alarming one to me. It bothers me, and
it always has. I don't understand it.

Speaker 24 (01:44:05):
And now we know Sean, you know he wont all
these MVPs and stuff, and now we know why he
don't have as many rings as the Mannings.

Speaker 7 (01:44:12):
And the bradys Man.

Speaker 9 (01:44:13):
His leadership is That's what it is.

Speaker 5 (01:44:15):
Something.

Speaker 6 (01:44:15):
There is a disconnect, there isn't there. I went outside
his little circle. Feels like a disconnect. And sometimes it
works to call people out, even though I wouldn't do
it in public. Most of the time you get better
results from making it private, so the guy goes to
work instead of feel like he's being attacked. I just
I believe it. Great point by you, Man, Appreciate you.
Thanks Christ good talk. He he's right about Wilt now

(01:44:36):
and you can't put boys. You can't put There's not
enough minutes in a game to do that, especially from
the center peces. You got to go on block twenty
four shots and get a level assists after scoring fifty
and rebound it thirty plus times. I understand he's not Jordan,
but when you talk about the big fellas and goats,
if he's not in your first five conversations, I guess
we ain't been watching enough. If he was playing now
like that, if wil Chamberlill was playing in this era

(01:44:58):
the last twenty years, the whole converse said that the
narrative about Will Chamberlain the goat talk will be far different,
far different.

Speaker 4 (01:45:05):
I don't understand Aaron Rodgers sometimes most of the time. Dude,
you're the quarterback. Take the freaking blame. Don't blame your
wide receiver for quote unquote running the wrong route.

Speaker 5 (01:45:15):
Dude, you underthrew him. Take the damn blame.

Speaker 13 (01:45:17):
Facts you threw it behind, you threw it.

Speaker 6 (01:45:19):
Yeah, and if he ran the wrong route, you know
what you shouldn't do, say that he ran ran or
throw it. Yeah, you got the ball in here. Yet
if you ran the wrong route, most quarterbacks that ran
the wrong route, you're not getting football. Let me go
to the next guy, you know I do. I think
the guy's a hell of a player. And you know,
I don't care who he votes. That stuff doesn't bother me.
What bothers me is when you become an I teammate,

(01:45:41):
not a WE teammate, and at times when at times
it feels like it's he's got his click and then
the rest of the guys are open game publicly for him.

Speaker 5 (01:45:49):
I think he's better than that.

Speaker 4 (01:45:51):
I think when the trend says that he did, he's
not that he's a teammate bus tosser, And I don't
like it when you're Mike Williams and you're in that
locker room and you're having to deal with Aaron Rodgers
and all the bs that comes with him as of late,
and then he calls you out on national TV in
front of media for everybody in the world. And you know,
anything that Aaron Rodgers says is going to get blown

(01:46:11):
out of proportion. How do you not walk up to
Aaron Rodgers and try to whoop his asks.

Speaker 6 (01:46:15):
Even but in the lock now, if you will walk
up to him and say, hey, man, so that's how
that's how we're doing this now.

Speaker 5 (01:46:22):
Huh Okay.

Speaker 6 (01:46:22):
Now I'm Mike Williams interview me about what Aaron asked
me a question about what Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 5 (01:46:25):
Said about me. Mike, did you are you aware of
what Aaron Rodgers said that you ran the wrong route?
I am, So what's your question about the wrong route?

Speaker 11 (01:46:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:46:32):
Why did you?

Speaker 5 (01:46:33):
Did you run the wrong route?

Speaker 4 (01:46:35):
Misconnection?

Speaker 13 (01:46:35):
But you know what?

Speaker 9 (01:46:36):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (01:46:36):
I also would like to somebody go ask Aaron Rodgers. Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:46:39):
It was about three or four times in this game
and before game that we had guys open. In Minnesota,
there were guys open, and uh, he threw it to
the wrong guy three times. So maybe Aaron Ough'll worry
about his business right now while I'm trying to worry
about my Oh he's right. I may I may have
misread it, but I also know that man I was
wide open in the game against Minnesota and he threw
it inside or whoever the receipt right. So it's probably

(01:46:59):
good as a team that we all take care of
our own business. And it starts with the guy who's
calling the place. Now, what would Aaron do? Oh God,
Mike Williams will not beyond team. He go right to
ownership because he's being a little bit of So what's
the difference. You think you get a hall pass because
you've been in the league longer. That's the way that
you get a Hall pass as far as how people
view you as a leader, which takes on more responsibility accountability.

(01:47:21):
You don't get the hall passed to bus toss the
guy because you've been in forty years or twelve years.
The true leader walks him back, doesn't like it, film
lets the coach correct it, and you take him aside.
Even on the sideline on the game, you may get
a little heated, but like, come on, man, we got it.
That's okay to heat it on the sideline, but don't
walk in with the mic in front of your face
and stell the guy we saw it. And if it
doesn't really matter what we think, go take care and

(01:47:44):
then if you too got a difference of opinion, do
it behind closed doors and leave us the meeting out
of am Yes, I don't like it.

Speaker 5 (01:47:50):
Listen. It is a lack of leadership.

Speaker 6 (01:47:52):
And for a guy who's been in the league that
long who wouldn't want it dealt to him, that's all
I ever say.

Speaker 5 (01:47:59):
I'll deal with you the way you deal with me.

Speaker 6 (01:48:01):
So if that's the way we're playing this thing, the
next time you miss me when I'm wide open, they'll
know right now you want to Is that how we're
going to get better?

Speaker 5 (01:48:10):
I mean, no, see it. No, But yeah, i'd respect
you a.

Speaker 6 (01:48:12):
Lot more if you took me aside, dressed me down
in price that I need you to play better man,
because you're a hell of a player.

Speaker 4 (01:48:17):
But come on, we can't do that. We're not going
where we want to go. And I got to get
better too, because I've missed throws that I know it
wouldn't normally miss.

Speaker 5 (01:48:23):
So let's do this together.

Speaker 6 (01:48:24):
You sent a loud message in private, he goes in there,
he's still confident in front of his teammates, and your
teammates aren't side eye on both guys, one because they say,
why do you get called out? And two because your
quarterback continues to do this throughout his career and he's
part of the problem right now.

Speaker 5 (01:48:40):
I just don't get it, man, I don't get it.

Speaker 6 (01:48:42):
Leadership is a hard thing and it's not a popular thing,
but it's something that's necessary, especially when you're the guy
with the CEA on your dog on the chest.

Speaker 4 (01:48:50):
Yeah, I don't let me ask you this. When's the
last time you heard a hockey player call out a teammate.
I don't know if I ever have. Actually, I wonder
why do you think that is? Because it's they deal
with all their stuff in the They deal with their
own stuff in there and handle it if they got
to get in a fight in the lot. How many
times you think hockey players are beating on each other
in the club and you never know why because they're like,

(01:49:10):
they're as secure as it gets. Why they protect their
family while everybody else may be going credit. They may
have difference of opinion, but you tell me the last
time a captain, I don't think let's toss the teammate
for for for having a lazy shift on ice, or
wasn't in the right spot when he when he fed
him one in the crease.

Speaker 12 (01:49:27):
Right.

Speaker 5 (01:49:28):
Probably very few and far between, because you protect a
different way of life. You may not like what they
did protect your teammates. We'll deal with it later.

Speaker 4 (01:49:34):
Yeah, And if we were going to deal with it,
we're going to deal with in the locker room. And
then we yell and scream and fight with me all
you want, but it's our guys. Yeah, Yeah, I hate
Aaron Wilson. NFL Inside are going to join the show
next on Sports Talk seven hinty, but the Shawn Salisbury
Show continued, go back to shun south for a show

(01:50:01):
around Sports Talk seven niney, Sean Brian and Triple You.
Now we're going to welcome in NFL insider Aaron Wilson.

Speaker 1 (01:50:06):
To the show.

Speaker 5 (01:50:07):
We sure are every week kPr C Channel two.

Speaker 6 (01:50:10):
Get all that great TV stuff he does stuff for us, obviously,
you get great blogs and information all across the league
with the Texans at Sports seven ninety dot com and
then at Aaron Wilson on Twitter, aeron you know what,
we always have our fight song Friday.

Speaker 5 (01:50:23):
I don't I don't think.

Speaker 4 (01:50:25):
We've ever I've ever asked you who's your college team?
Who are you root for on Saturday?

Speaker 7 (01:50:30):
Who?

Speaker 9 (01:50:31):
I'm a former Carolina pirate ball That's that's right.

Speaker 5 (01:50:34):
I knew you were the ECU, So you're okay? There
you go.

Speaker 6 (01:50:37):
Nice the home of what Jeff Blake, right, wasn't Jeff
Blake and East Carolina guy quarterback.

Speaker 9 (01:50:43):
Jeff Blake, Robert Jones, Jared Sick family and Larry Shannon.

Speaker 5 (01:50:50):
Yeah, I call the game there one time. I loved it. Yeah,
it was awesome. That's great ECU pirates.

Speaker 7 (01:50:56):
Right.

Speaker 5 (01:50:57):
There you go, and we're joined by the great Aaron Wilson.

Speaker 9 (01:51:00):
What's that coach?

Speaker 11 (01:51:02):
Or was he really?

Speaker 9 (01:51:04):
Yeah? Great Chuck Wgana. Then I later covered Chuck when
he was even square for Baltimore, Right, And I toldal I,
sa coach, he can only work with so much. But hey,
he played.

Speaker 5 (01:51:16):
Hard and you know where he started.

Speaker 6 (01:51:17):
You know where he started his career as a graduate
assistant at USC Pegs was there when I was there.

Speaker 5 (01:51:23):
Yeah, awesome, he should.

Speaker 9 (01:51:24):
Talk about that and this time of UNLV all the time,
yeap coach for you. He was in Miami. They he recruited.

Speaker 6 (01:51:34):
Yep, that Wansteed north Turner, John Robinson connection with Miami.
John went to Vegas after he was at SC in
the Rams. So yeah, pretty cool man, good stuff. All right,
let's get to this NFL. Yeah, phenomenal human being. I
love PAGs. Okay, so and his brother John's great dude too.
So with this in mind, we head up to Green Bay.
Do you believe home field advantage in lambell was like

(01:51:55):
it was when uh it was a definite home field advantage.
Is that the same that is as it's been or
is it a little more equal ground now that it's
not the same uh impact that they had twenty years ago.

Speaker 9 (01:52:08):
It's not the same. It's not the same as the
Bread Farv or even the height of the Aaron Rodgers era.

Speaker 3 (01:52:14):
It is.

Speaker 9 (01:52:15):
There's still some mystique about Lambeau, but I think that
the league has changed the emphasis of intimidating home environments
things like that is you know, kind of going. I
would say the behavior of the fans it's better in
almost every stadium, like like the old Cleveland stand. They
are throwing batteries and rock sets and stuff like that anymore.

(01:52:39):
So yeah, I think that's all gone downhill. As far
as you know. This is an intimidating atmosphere. Some places
are louder than others. But no, no, I don't feel
that way. Yeah cover games up there, and I think
it's just it's a normal road game.

Speaker 5 (01:52:55):
There you go.

Speaker 6 (01:52:56):
I like that, and that bodes well for a Texans
team who still has played their most complete game finding
ways to win. I think, Aaron, you correct me if
I'm wrong, I'd love to hear how you feel. I
think it'll take their most complete game. I think this
is the most complete team they've played, and that includes
Buffalo at least this season so far. That's counting Minnesota too,
even though I think Minnesota is better. But I think

(01:53:17):
overall this may be is completed team. Minnesota is rising,
they're playing great defense. If they're not, they're in the
category of the most complete teams they've played this year.
And the quarterback's really good.

Speaker 9 (01:53:27):
Right where Minnesota has one wide receiver that's I think
the best in the game. Agreed, these guys have a
better quarterback, they have a better tailback and Josh Jacobs.
They have a diversity of targets. They have Jaden Reid
who is outstanding, and so they do so many things
very well. They have an emerging tight end, they have

(01:53:50):
a lot of weapons, and you know, they got defense
is pretty opportunistic. I think Zavie McKinney especially leads NFL
in interception, So it is really difficult. And you know
the only thing that really has been a problem for
them is kicker. So you look at Green Bay and
I think it's it's a surely difficult game.

Speaker 5 (01:54:12):
Sure is.

Speaker 6 (01:54:13):
Now, how do you with Josh Jacobs, who's a thumper,
like mixing, I mean the two good quarterbacks, two really
good guys who can handle, you know, inside outside and
handle a load. How do you play if you're defensively
this week? I mean, if you play two high safeties,
you're the run struggle and you've got Jordan Love's feet
as well. But Love can beat you in a lot

(01:54:33):
of different ways as well. So I would imagine this
is back to the old school thing. And it seems
like the running backs are making an impact in the
league this year. Big time, the devaluing of them is
sidestep because of the way they're playing. It's got to
be a game where you've got to control the line
of scrimmage first, even though Jordan loves a major threat
in and out of the pocket.

Speaker 9 (01:54:51):
Correct, right, Well, they're going to have to have some
performance of stew England, some performance other weeks that they
had like the play against Josh Allen. They're gonna be
that kind of game out of Will Anderson, Junior, Neil
Hunter and now Daniel Austrey. So well, you have those
guys that is the only real equalizer because they are

(01:55:11):
going to have some issues with the personnel behind them,
a lot of injuries, so you're looking at potentially losing
five starters and so that means you know, as he's
all Shire, we can see he's in some pain. Can
he get it out of play? Does it make sense
for him to play? So you're gonna be down, you know,
your team captain potentially. I know that Kamari Lassiter and

(01:55:35):
Jimmy Ward are out of or reported that, so they're out.
In case of last year, he's going to be out
not just this week but more weeks. And that's probably
the case for Jimmy Ward too. So you know you're
down two decent starts in the secondary. You're plugging in
at linebacker, likely w Ewitt and Jake Hanster. Oshaun Phillips

(01:55:55):
concening Toeto is out with the concussion. They are playing
with one hand behind the back on defense on So
it's gonna be tough, and it's gonna mean that without
a great name from those guys and Derek Sill the juniors,
that's a tough day. I mean, it's hard to win,
to shoot out when you don't even have your starting
eleven on defense.

Speaker 5 (01:56:16):
No doubt.

Speaker 6 (01:56:16):
So do you do you expect this to be an
aggressive game from play calling?

Speaker 15 (01:56:22):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (01:56:23):
For the Texans? Try to limit possessions or is it
business as usual? You're gonna kind of go with the
hot hand. I know they want to be two dimensional
where you can run it and throw it and have
that great mix. But an attack and that defense, and
we mentioned that the injuries on our side of the defense,
so they're gonna have to the backs. They're gonna have
to come in and play some really good football. But
how do you attack it from the offensive standpoint here?

(01:56:44):
Because they've got some explosiveness even without Nico Collins.

Speaker 9 (01:56:49):
All right, I think that you've got to still be
mildly aggressive, controlled aggression, but he cannot, you know, lose
the football. That's the recipe for disasters that are set.
So yeah, they got to be careful about the ball.
You know, there's been a little few more interceptions than
usual from DJ Stroud. He's thrown four normally, you know,

(01:57:10):
has lower interception totals from that based on his track
record from last year. And I think controlled passing game
got to You gotta run the ball. You need balance.
That's what's something what Bobby Sloke about was that's kind
of what they want to be is a team that
can run the ball. You saw the big holes they
had against the Patriots. I think they got to pack

(01:57:31):
a running game for this one. This is gonna be
a Joe Mixon kind of game. But I don't see
you know, them just getting wide open against Tiger Alexander
Xaber McKinney. I think they can move the ball. They
can certainly complete passes and you can find to light
down the field with a series of intermediate thrills. But
I don't know if the deep ball, if it's there
and if it's not, then you have to march down

(01:57:53):
the field manufacture drives. And I would think that will
be kind of the game plan. See if you can
pound the football a little bit. You know, they've got
some guys too. They've got no pretty good front seven
and overall decent defense, but some people have had success
running against Screen Bay, and I think they'll try to
do that.

Speaker 6 (01:58:12):
Aside from the injuries that we know about this football team,
what's still missing? And I know that's weird to hear
a five and one team, but I think you and
I both agree we haven't seen their best yet in
a game. We've seen flashes of it, but a full
sixty minute good team domination against the team they're supposed
to beat, or that they can beat them because they've

(01:58:34):
got some equal talent on the other side. What's the
one thing that's going to prevent them from beating a
team like the Packers.

Speaker 5 (01:58:42):
Well, they have.

Speaker 9 (01:58:43):
Lows where they kind of they don't keep it up
on offense. They've had enough penalties this year that when
they don't have penalties, it's kind of like an upset,
like they get to paddle the back. That's a factor
that has are going away. I think it's better. And
you know, you look at other issues they have, you know,

(01:59:04):
just the personnel problems they're going to have. No one
tested Gazela Ross last week without Kamara Lassiter, so they'll
try him this week. He's gonna get involved. And you know,
so there are some of the the factors for Houston
that could hurt them in this football game. That said,
you know, they're five to one for a reason.

Speaker 5 (01:59:24):
Yep.

Speaker 9 (01:59:25):
I expect them to be a good game. And I
think that you know, there's some matchups I like for
the Texans, especially against their offensive line. I have a
lot of confidence obviously, well Anderson Junior the IF defense
player of the week and you'll hunter, but these guys
have got to eat on Sunday. I think this is

(01:59:45):
one of those days where the defensive line is going
to got to carry you. And they got to you know,
they pull a huge investment in this defensive line. They
got to earn their money.

Speaker 5 (01:59:54):
All right.

Speaker 6 (01:59:55):
When we come out of the game and we wake
up on money and are talking about this, will we
be saying and one of these two things. This team,
whoever it is, or you can name the team, you
feel in this team uh, made many more chunk plays
in the big explosives than the other team. Or this
team dominated the line of scrimmage, running the football. That's

(02:00:15):
why they won. Which one would you take?

Speaker 9 (02:00:19):
Green Bay?

Speaker 6 (02:00:20):
And you would say and if those two, you'd say
they beat them with big players or running the football, Okay,
bigger plays, more explosives.

Speaker 5 (02:00:28):
Okay.

Speaker 9 (02:00:28):
I think they're more vulnerable to that than them. Pound
of the ball.

Speaker 5 (02:00:32):
And who wins.

Speaker 9 (02:00:35):
Green Bay?

Speaker 4 (02:00:36):
Close?

Speaker 11 (02:00:39):
Uh?

Speaker 9 (02:00:39):
Yeah, I think relatively close, certainly under ten points.

Speaker 5 (02:00:43):
So a game in the twenties like twenty one type
give me a score and.

Speaker 9 (02:00:52):
Twenty four to seventeen four touchdown for the record, I picked.
I picked Minnesota to beat them last time. So yeah,
I don't, you know, not saying that it can't be them,
just saying this is my opinion of how it'll go.
I think the injuries on defense proved to be a factor.
Ye little game too much. I'd even mentioned, like fully,

(02:01:12):
Potocosi might be out with the shoulder.

Speaker 5 (02:01:15):
They've got a lot of guys we're going.

Speaker 9 (02:01:17):
To see practice and blow receive if anybody kind of
a surprise and gets out there.

Speaker 5 (02:01:22):
But I know that you know a lot of.

Speaker 9 (02:01:23):
Those guys on. The guys have concussions, they can't play,
So it's gonna be you know, the majority of those
guys that we're talking about can't play in this game.

Speaker 6 (02:01:33):
Tough test at the line of scrimmage, running it and
defending Jordan Love play action could become big as well. Hey,
great stuff, brother, Enjoy and we'll look forward to our
conversation next week. Always grateful to have you on.

Speaker 9 (02:01:44):
Thanks, good talking to you too.

Speaker 6 (02:01:46):
That's Aaron Wilson. We'll come back and discuss I think
a lot of people and on tier leaning towards the Packers.
Times right for them to have their most complete game.
Meaning the text in Sports Talk seven ninety, why.

Speaker 1 (02:01:57):
Isn't the rat race more racy group.

Speaker 7 (02:02:00):
Construction completely shutting down the Southwest Creek Way?

Speaker 3 (02:02:03):

And man, we got the right one now, don't you.

Speaker 5 (02:03:19):
Nick. They're awesome.

Speaker 20 (02:03:20):
Yeah, man, these are fantasticiciated And we had the Sean
Salisbury special there with the French Fries.

Speaker 6 (02:03:25):
French fries and you put him in the burger, the
little texture change, but you don't need it's not for
the flavor just kind of goes together the sauce.

Speaker 5 (02:03:33):
That reminds me. And it's even better. When I was
growing up, I said, Bob's big boy.

Speaker 4 (02:03:37):
Anybody who knows old school, they put this Thousand Island
type sauce.

Speaker 5 (02:03:40):
I don't.

Speaker 6 (02:03:41):
And and it's a similar sauce, but there's a little
the uh, the taste is off the charts. And they
got the flatinum, and I mean they are. It's my
first bout with him.

Speaker 5 (02:03:53):
I say about him.

Speaker 6 (02:03:53):
Everybody that said anything about him when you read online,
and it doesn't shock me if you involved, and and
bun Bee get involved.

Speaker 5 (02:03:59):
What a burger? Did I don't eat burgers. I didn't.

Speaker 4 (02:04:01):
This is the greatest story.

Speaker 5 (02:04:02):
I do not eat. Sean doesn't especially lunch and dinner food.
He really don't fast. He doesn't. Right, I don't eat pizza,
breakfast and all that. This is off the charts.

Speaker 6 (02:04:12):
And I'm in trouble because if I started eating burgers
and they want and trill burgers, I'm either going to
get well, it's okay, a couple extra pounds good man,
that's exactly Friday. These are awesome. Yeah, you know what,
I never read the backstore. I mean, I know when
it started. You you know, you're first of all, you're
like mattress smack, and you know you never sleep, You're
always working and going everywhere. But you're so great at

(02:04:35):
your job because I feel like I've been to Trilburgers
a hundred times and have it and that's a sign
of a good person who's doing all their stuff.

Speaker 5 (02:04:42):
What started this? Where did this is?

Speaker 6 (02:04:44):
You know when when bun did he wake up one
day and said I want to do it? Or was
it in the works for years for him?

Speaker 10 (02:04:48):
No?

Speaker 5 (02:04:48):
It it actually came about a few summers ago, twenty
twenty one. Bunby and I. I've done bun for about
twelve years.

Speaker 20 (02:04:56):
I used to work for the Texans as a reporter
for the team and I met him, I think on
the sideline of a game in New England. We became
Twitter friends and we kept in touch over the years.
But a friend of mine named Andy Wynn. He's a
restaurant tour from Orange County, southern California, your neck of
the woods.

Speaker 6 (02:05:13):
Yeah, you and me both brother Trojans. We know that's
Trojan City, USA brought.

Speaker 5 (02:05:17):
Yes, sir, I'm wearing my USC shirt today even though
we're three and three, so.

Speaker 4 (02:05:22):
Let us try.

Speaker 5 (02:05:22):
Okay, Yeah, it's uh anyway.

Speaker 20 (02:05:25):
So, our partner, Andy is based out in California and
he's got a lot of successful fast casual concepts, and
he had the idea that nobody in Houston was really
pushing smash Burger's, right then Crispy Edges. Yes, So it's
been really popular in LA for three four years plus,
and so Andy had this idea, they're in vogue big time,

(02:05:45):
especially when they're good like this.

Speaker 5 (02:05:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 20 (02:05:47):
Yeah, and he and you know, I saw it as
an opportunity coming out of COVID. Talked about, you know,
possibly getting a celebrity or somebody you know with a
with a good following involved, and I got got together
with bun Bee, we started talking about it.

Speaker 5 (02:06:02):
He had been thinking about getting in the food.

Speaker 20 (02:06:03):
Business for a while, and we did some taste tests
of the burgers and man, they were phenomenal. I gotta
give credit to our chefs, Fernando Viadars and Mike fam
they're actually Cordon Blue trained chefs from southern California, from
Orange County and they have a big passion for burgers.
So the sauce, the trill sauce, that's our Bun says,
you know, anybody can make a burger.

Speaker 5 (02:06:24):
Nobody can make it with that trillness.

Speaker 6 (02:06:25):
That's it's the truth, because burger and we can all
throw ketchup and stuff on a burger. The sauce. It's
like you go get a good sandwich. Is it the
meat or the bread? It's the bread. The bread, great bread,
not too thick, perfect for a burger.

Speaker 5 (02:06:39):
We can all.

Speaker 6 (02:06:40):
I mean, some burgers matter another, but burger, what what's
that extra thing that gets it over the top. Bun's
exactly right that I'm a big sauce. I'm a dipper.

Speaker 5 (02:06:47):
Yeah, trill sauce. It's phenomenal. We got a Trill Sauce
off the charts.

Speaker 20 (02:06:51):
And we got Trill Tenders now, which is a new brand,
that separate brand we're launching and it's actually a University
of Houston for the football sauce. Yeah, and we sell
them side by side with the burgers. And the crazy
thing is that they're selling neck and neck. I mean,
the the burger response is phenomenal, but people love the
tenders man.

Speaker 6 (02:07:06):
And I'm dipping them all in the same sauce. Man,
I don't care what it is. Tries to go in
that sauce.

Speaker 5 (02:07:10):
Are you guys at Minimate?

Speaker 20 (02:07:11):
We'd We've done some stuff with the Astros. We have
a great relationship with the organization. We've done their street
fest and their fanfests and things like that. We've done
the golf tournament at Jim Crane's Floridian Golf Club a
couple years with Reggie Jackson Mister October Foundation.

Speaker 5 (02:07:27):
But you know, that would be great. We'd love to
be a Minimate. I certainly go to a fair number
of games myself. I would love to have it.

Speaker 20 (02:07:33):
But we're in We are in NRG Stadium for locations,
well actually six now because we're in the in the
club level. And that's awesome for me having worked there
many years ago to go back and now we got
these big old giant food stands.

Speaker 6 (02:07:47):
Well, you're so good at bringing brand awareness and you've
got the right guy in this city. Oh yeah, you
know the guy who if you're twenty, you know bun
If you're seventy, you know Bunby, and everywhere in between.
It doesn't matter if you're white black in Spain. He
covers the full gam which I think is important.

Speaker 4 (02:08:02):
And his burger.

Speaker 5 (02:08:04):
If you're eating Burger's at breakfast, it's right, that's a
burger for breakfast. Brother, I'm in. You screwed me up.
Now I'm gonna have to eat it on a regular base.

Speaker 4 (02:08:12):
And you've got a great guy making sure your group
is kicking ass well. I appreciate that, you know, and
and you know Bunby. I know you guys know him
loving on and you know he is. It's I feel
kind of funny saying that, but it's an honor, you know,
to be his.

Speaker 20 (02:08:25):
I've been his friend now probably about twelve years, and
I wasn't quite sure I could even call him my
friend at first, you know, I was like, I don't
know if I can if we're at that stage.

Speaker 5 (02:08:32):
But you're winning, so that's what a friend wants too.

Speaker 20 (02:08:34):
But he's such a good guy, and you know he's
he's there every day twice a day, fist bumping, saying
hi to everybody at all their tables, taking pictures with him.
Anywhere the brand needs to be, he's there and he's
really put his heart and soul into it.

Speaker 5 (02:08:47):
I mean, and that's why it is.

Speaker 1 (02:08:48):
Where it is.

Speaker 6 (02:08:49):
So you guys together were making a phenomenal team and
there's gonna be I would imagine more in the in
the offing, right, I would imagine there's gonna be more.

Speaker 5 (02:08:56):
And will is it going to travel? Yeah, yeah, we are.
So we've actually gone and done festivals like Coachella and
Rolling Cloud in Miami.

Speaker 20 (02:09:04):
We're at the Rodeo every year, but we are, uh,
we're planning on some new locations, so we'll keep you
guys posted on that. Please do make sure we bring
you some burgers sooner next time, and so you'll be
you'll be hearing from us whether you want to or to. Brother,
I promise.

Speaker 6 (02:09:18):
Yeah, it was nice you to get up honestly early
in your chefs to cook it for us this early
in the morning, No doubt.

Speaker 5 (02:09:23):
It's phenomenal and you gotta get it Trill Burger's.

Speaker 20 (02:09:25):
I appreciate that, and I'm glad I got you guys
some some Renaissance Festival tickets as well.

Speaker 5 (02:09:29):
Uh, you know Skirfield Group, my my PR firm. We
got a great team. We're working on the Renaissance Festival.

Speaker 20 (02:09:35):
Prs their fiftieth anniversary largest renaissance festival.

Speaker 6 (02:09:38):
It's going to be my first time going. I've been
every year that Turkey leg. I think I gotta go on.
I'm on my brother, we got.

Speaker 5 (02:09:43):
To get you.

Speaker 24 (02:09:44):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (02:09:44):
Maybe Brian can give you some tidbits on you know,
costumes do what's it there?

Speaker 6 (02:09:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 20 (02:09:48):
Man, depending on the weekend. This weekend I think is
the Fairy and L's weekend.

Speaker 4 (02:09:52):
Yeah that's great.

Speaker 5 (02:09:54):
Yeah, that's great. That's great. Yeah, thanks.

Speaker 9 (02:09:59):
For that.

Speaker 5 (02:10:00):
A barbarian weekend. That sounds more like me. Yeah, the barbario. Now,
it would probably be hired for you because you like
to chase booty, so it makes sense.

Speaker 11 (02:10:06):
WHOA, what do you mean?

Speaker 5 (02:10:07):
No, it'll be respecting my guy, Mike Leach. Oh, fair enough,
there you go.

Speaker 9 (02:10:12):
Nick.

Speaker 6 (02:10:12):
Awesome stuff. The food's great. You're always welcome in here, honestly,
and we love having it. And you know, Bud Bee's
got a hall pass anytime he wants to come in here.
We love talking sports and business with him too.

Speaker 20 (02:10:21):
I really appreciate that, guys, and I know you guys
are also both invited. Next Sunday twenty seventh, there's a
uh A and M exhibition game as Yeah, I know
you guys are tight with coach Sampson. Nobody better. It's
a charity fundraiser for Hurricane Barrel and I think it's
number four or number thirteen if I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 4 (02:10:39):
So that's gonna be a good good way to check
it off, Nick, Thank you brother. Next, Hey, where can
we find online for this?

Speaker 20 (02:10:45):
True trill Burgers just followed trill Bergers at trill Burgers
on all the social media platforms and we might have
a good video of Sean getting his first taste with
the French fries on the burger.

Speaker 7 (02:10:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:10:56):
Probably and sounds very special.

Speaker 4 (02:10:57):
And trill sauce all over my Yeah, you're your pr
firm Skurfield Group.

Speaker 5 (02:11:03):
Yeah, we're on social media it's uh Skurfield s c
U r F.

Speaker 20 (02:11:06):
I heel very active all over the town and uh
you can find me on Twitter, Nick Scurfield. I like
to tweet about the Texans still and Astros. Unfortunately the
playoffs ended a little early for us this year, but
you know we'll be back.

Speaker 4 (02:11:18):
I think, yeah, absolutely passionate uh Houston sports fan as well.
The Texan's is gonna win it this weekend. You know
what I heard Aaron say, it's gonna be close, and
the Packers are gonna win. I love Aeron Wilson, He's
my guy. But I'm I'm saying the Texans are gonna
pull it off.

Speaker 5 (02:11:29):
Man, there we go. I think C J.

Speaker 20 (02:11:31):
Stroud, I mean, he's just he's special. And you look
at the running game, and I mean the coach and
the special teams and the defense.

Speaker 5 (02:11:38):
I think.

Speaker 20 (02:11:38):
I know there's some injury concerns and some issues they've
had there, but I'm feeling a big win.

Speaker 5 (02:11:43):
I think Texans are going to Super Bowl this year.
To me, it will be their best win of the
year if they can go in there and pull it off,
no doubt.

Speaker 4 (02:11:48):
Let's let's continue to talk about the Texans and that
big matchup next on Sports Talk seven.

Speaker 5 (02:12:51):
So good Man, so good, and the fries raup stands.
So good Man, triple what's what's the word?

Speaker 15 (02:12:58):
Ey?

Speaker 4 (02:12:58):
He's on the phone, all three of us. First time, uh,
knocking down a trill Berger. I'm about to double down
on it. It won't be the first time, and it
won't be the last time.

Speaker 5 (02:13:08):
It will be a lot of times. I was at
Triple aug.

Speaker 13 (02:13:11):
That was I can't say what I want to say,
but that was amazing.

Speaker 5 (02:13:15):
So good Man, damn it? So good?

Speaker 11 (02:13:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:13:19):
Uh, Nick and his PR firm, and then obviously his
relationship with a lot of people here in the city.
Fantastic guy, really good at what he does. And obviously
the partnership they have with Trlberger's really gracious to the
chefs and the staff over at Trilbergers to get up
a little bit earlier and be able to cook some
of these burgers for us here at the seven ninety studio,
right here on Sports Talk seven ninety. All right, one

(02:13:40):
thing that you talked to Aaron Wilson about is the
outcome and he's, uh, he's leaning Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 6 (02:13:46):
Sean, I am too, are you? Yeah, Okay, I am too.
Injuries concerned. Not because I don't think the Texan can win.
And it's not a reverse psychology thing. I just think
travel a lot, you know, some some possible inclement weather
and wind is going to be whether it rains or not,
win is going to be there. And you say, well,
it affects both team, Sure it does. I just am

(02:14:08):
concerned about the defense getting enough stops. When you're facing
a two dimensional team. I would have a different opinion Brian,
if they were working with a running back, that their
running game was not relevant, But Josh Jacobs makes it
relevant because I think when one dimensional teams are equal,
I think that the quarterback has to play out of.

Speaker 5 (02:14:25):
His mind, which Jordan loves capable of.

Speaker 6 (02:14:26):
But to me, the fact that they did the attacking
a defense and the depth and the shots they're gonna take,
and you have to guard against the line of scrimmage,
which is which opens up opportunities pushing the ball down
the field, and I think Lafleur is going to go attack,
and I think Bobby slok is too.

Speaker 5 (02:14:44):
I think that.

Speaker 6 (02:14:44):
Don't don't mis understand. I do believe the Texans can score.
The question is going to get enough stops against green Bay.
So I'm leaning myself towards a close one. But see,
I think it's like a twenty seven to twenty three
type game. But I think twenty seven points is gonna
be hard to come by. I told you if it
gets to thirty, the first team there wins. I don't
know if that's going to be the case, but I

(02:15:05):
think it's one of those. It's a one possession late win,
last six seven minutes of the game. I'm leaning towards
green Bay by about three and a half. You know,
if you gave me three and a half, i'd probably
take green Bay like by four inside a touchdown.

Speaker 5 (02:15:19):
I don't think it's any more than that. So I
feel like, excuse me.

Speaker 4 (02:15:22):
The one thing for me that is going to work
in the Texans favor is them going to Minnesota and
getting their ass whooped. I think they'll learn a lot
from that. Obviously, the run game was pretty much non
existent with Joe Mixon out and Cam Akers running the football.
But Joe Mixon is back. I just think defensive line
play for the Texans will be much better. And they've played,

(02:15:43):
you know, they played really good football against the Buffalo
Bills with all the pressures. Can they get to Jordan
Love and can they actually get him on the ground.

Speaker 6 (02:15:50):
Yeah, And he's as close to Josh Allen as we
have that they've played this year with his feet. I'm
talking about the ability to extend plays and when you
talk about the guy who can beat you from there,
and Darnold's really good. Sam's just trying to fight, fighting
his way back to doing what we thought he'd do
in college. But those are the two he Jordan loves
better than Lawrence right now. He's obviously better than what

(02:16:12):
they they had with Richardson. I mean, this is this
is the guy. And now Caleb Williams has got some
skill set, but Jordan loves an advanced version of that
with that they can throw it. I'm defensively, if they
are fully healthy, I'd have a different opinion because I
think the Texans know how to That's the one thing
that gives me a better feel is that I think
the Texans know how to win close games. And it's

(02:16:34):
impressive to me, But in Green Bay it's even though
it's not the same home field advantage, it's still a
difficult task and travel and it's not talent to me.
It's the the depth on defense and the injuries that
are going to be a problem. You're gonna have to
have a couple of backups and that the down guys
that are getting to the quarterback, they're gonna have to
get after it with early pressures. But you gotta be

(02:16:54):
careful of staying in your own lane because they can
gash you. With Josh Jacobs if you leave a little
bit of room, he doesn't need much. He's a really
good player. Yeah, and he's running the football efficiently. It's
not as big, gaudy numbers like we've seen, but it's
efficient a game.

Speaker 5 (02:17:07):
And physical, so that's important. And they got both.

Speaker 6 (02:17:11):
And like sometimes physical teams, he said, well, can they
finacy to death? They're capable of doing that. Depth their
wide receivers pretty good.

Speaker 4 (02:17:16):
One thing, as we get ready to go to break,
let's say they do a really good job of stopping
Josh Jacobs stopping the run. I think the one thing
that they're susceptible of is giving up the big play yep.
And if he's getting behind the safeties, and if you are.

Speaker 6 (02:17:29):
Really stopping Josh Jacobs in this game to where he's
having a hard time doing it, there may be another
guy lingering down around the line of scrimmage, which what
makes you vulnerable on the edges throwing the football. So
the corners are going to have to be at a premium.
You've got to. You can't just show up and play
man the whole timer zone. You're gonna have to You're
gonna have to have a little bit of creativity defensively,

(02:17:50):
especially with some of the backups. And but the key
here is also when you're playing a two dimensional team,
you sometimes want to be a hero and get out
of place you can't get out of. You if it
says get to your half field safe to get halfield,
if you're lazy and they run a whole shot, Jordan
Lovell will fit it in.

Speaker 5 (02:18:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (02:18:04):
So it's just like their concerns with here their defense.
You don't think they're afraid to death of dealing with them,
not afraid death of dealing with Joe Mixon. So they're
gonna give you some shots on the outside. If they
go single high safety, you have your chance to pound
the outside lanes. Both of these teams better be awfully
stout in the front seven if they're gonna play two
high safeties without bringing a guy down, because both of
these backs can thump you to the point of they

(02:18:25):
can embarrass you.

Speaker 5 (02:18:26):
With the way they run. Yeah, it's nice to have
Joe maxon back, no question.

Speaker 4 (02:18:30):
Let's talk about how the offense stacks up against the
Packers defense for the Houston Texans. Jay and John will

Speaker 5 (02:20:46):
Start with Jay Jay, good.

Speaker 12 (02:20:47):
Morning, Hey, Texas Longhorns by fourteen on Saturday. Let me
get to the Texans. If they come out the way
they did against Minnesota, they're gonna lose.

Speaker 7 (02:20:58):
But what I'm thinking is fair Bear is going to.

Speaker 12 (02:21:00):
Win it at the end about a fifty yard field
goal against the win. But Sean, Sean Dimico, why is
he saying that Jordan Love is the best quarterback they're
going to face this year? Didn't he face Josh Allen?
He didn't he face the Minnesota quarterback? That's five and

(02:21:24):
oh or six and oh?

Speaker 5 (02:21:25):
Right now, Sam Donald, Yeah.

Speaker 12 (02:21:27):
I can I can Jordan Love be the best quarterback.

Speaker 9 (02:21:30):
He's going to play?

Speaker 6 (02:21:31):
Well, here's what I think happens, Jay, and I'd love
to see that. If it's fifty yards, it's almost automatic
for Fairbairn. That's for damn sure. I think what happens.
And you're going this press conferences sometimes you say who
who've we played?

Speaker 5 (02:21:43):
Again? Let's reverse it.

Speaker 6 (02:21:44):
Let's say they played Jordan Love in week three and
then Josh Allen was this week. I would imagine Demko
probably would have said, you know who the best this
is the best quarterback we faced.

Speaker 5 (02:21:55):
You know what I'm saying, it's just the next guy up.

Speaker 6 (02:21:57):
I think the respect, I think because Donald's back new
at it and doing it well. I think the overall
ability to run past. Yes, I don't think that for
any If Josh Allen and Jordan Love were reversed, he'd
probably saying, hey, we're facing the best quarterback we face
this year, which is just kind of putting everybody on
notice that they know what they're getting ready to face.
I don't think it was derogatory towards the other guys.

(02:22:17):
I just think it was simply this is the next
really good one up. And there is the argument that
you can say Jordan Love is in that category, but
Josh Allen's the best quarterback they faced right now, no doubt,
no doubt.

Speaker 12 (02:22:28):
Exactly Josh Allen, Sam Darnold and then Jordan Love.

Speaker 6 (02:22:32):
And I'm going to tell you what about a year
from now, the way he's playing now, they built around
Kayleb Williams and exactly chopped Liver Man. He's playing pretty
damn good football too, so it's he's pretty good.

Speaker 5 (02:22:42):
So there you go.

Speaker 6 (02:22:43):
But yeah, Jordan loves the hell of a player, but
give me Josh Allen first, you're exactly.

Speaker 5 (02:22:46):
Right, all right, all right, appreciate it? Well, thank you too.

Speaker 18 (02:22:50):
Jay.

Speaker 4 (02:22:50):
He got a fifty yarder at the buzzer, Brian triple A.
You have a goo weekend? Too many trip fifty into
the fifty yard er into the win the buzzer.

Speaker 5 (02:23:00):
I'm all in.

Speaker 6 (02:23:01):
They'd fifty and it'll probably go halfway up the uprights
right at twenty mile an hour. When that's strong. That
guy's like, the leg is what you have? A good weekend, man, Thanks,
appreciate it. Into the win, huh?

Speaker 5 (02:23:15):
I like Jay's thinking, I think the Texans win by ten.
I don't know if it's a hot take or not
a little bit. I just feel for me, and I
could be clearly wrong. You're going fourteen fourteen, ten score games?

Speaker 7 (02:23:26):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (02:23:27):
Anybody want that bet? No hard for y'all. Not I'll
take it.

Speaker 6 (02:23:31):
So I just I feel like the you're giving me
fourteen points in a game, or you're saying just win that,
or are you just saying if they win by twelve
you still owe me? Is that you're gonna give me
fourteen points in our bet?

Speaker 5 (02:23:42):
Fourteen? Oh yes, I'll take you're saying the text, are
gonna win by fourteen points? Yeah, you got it. I'll
take that bet, and you bet anything you want to, man,
I'm sure are you about to lose that bet? Dog?

Speaker 6 (02:23:50):
Yeah, So that's a little too much. If you say
six and a half, I'd be like, Okay, that's a touchdown.
If you said three and a half, I'd say, okay,
let's lower the bet because I'm you may win, but
fourteen points I'll take that any day. Of matter of fact,
it's hard to win by fourteen points against a bad team.

Speaker 13 (02:24:06):
So I just see the fire and it's it's something
different about that. I really Yeah, this season gonna be
really different.

Speaker 6 (02:24:12):
Well, you got thirty six minutes to decide if you
really want that bet you're giving me fourteen points.

Speaker 5 (02:24:16):
If you are, I'll take it. See he's not gonna
bet that. I wouldn't either. I wouldn't either. Scare money,
don't again, Scar, Yeah, let me do it. Scared money.

Speaker 4 (02:24:26):
Don't make money though, cuz you feel mem sucking.

Speaker 6 (02:24:31):
Anybody that calls anyone wants to give me fourteen points,
I'm taking numb.

Speaker 5 (02:24:35):
It's like being on the floor.

Speaker 13 (02:24:38):
Yeah, came up all over the weekend.

Speaker 5 (02:24:41):
That's true. Right, let's talk to John John. What's up, dude?

Speaker 15 (02:24:47):
Ran you get but hurt because he didn't say bad
to you?

Speaker 5 (02:24:50):
Who there was a call before.

Speaker 6 (02:24:55):
Oh my god, don't let John John, don't let him,
don't let him attack gize you like this.

Speaker 16 (02:25:02):
Hey, check it out, man, Yeah, triplely.

Speaker 15 (02:25:05):
I want some of that too.

Speaker 7 (02:25:06):
Man.

Speaker 13 (02:25:07):
You actually will be rich before the weekend.

Speaker 15 (02:25:10):
And come on, bro hold of me though, I'll take
that bet.

Speaker 9 (02:25:16):
What to bet?

Speaker 15 (02:25:17):
Money?

Speaker 13 (02:25:18):
Food, what alcohol we can put We can put a
meal on it.

Speaker 5 (02:25:23):
We put the meal on big and Anthony's oh damn
hi roller John. Yeah, that's more than a meal, that's
a that's a man.

Speaker 15 (02:25:30):
I'm gonna tomahawk baby.

Speaker 5 (02:25:34):
In this in this economy. You ever heard of bidy nomics?

Speaker 4 (02:25:38):
John?

Speaker 5 (02:25:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:25:41):
Those are about to end in about two weeks. Cost
seven dollars to breathe cauz.

Speaker 4 (02:25:47):
We got to buy ox.

Speaker 6 (02:25:48):
Trill trill Burgers. Don't get scared. Get yourself over there.
You love them, dude. They're off the charts.

Speaker 15 (02:25:56):
When I get back in town, I will, man, you
know me, I'm gone right now. Hey, check it out.

Speaker 16 (02:26:00):
So earlier, well, I was loading up everything and I
heard the radio and I had it blared. I heard
people talking about these players and call them out teammates
correct publicly, Yes, publicly. Here's this is my thought. And
this goes to the coaching too. They two damn thin

(02:26:24):
skied man.

Speaker 5 (02:26:25):
Okay, well let me reverse it. Hang on, I'm not
thinking because Sean.

Speaker 15 (02:26:29):
No, hang on, Sean, because no. Back in our day,
if we had a problem with a teammate, we'd bring
it to the ass. We bring it to them.

Speaker 6 (02:26:39):
Yeah, but that's not the point here. You bring your
hang on a second. You ain't calling them out to
the media. If you're if you got a set of balls,
you're taking them aside and going face to face instead
of behind closed doors, not to the media.

Speaker 5 (02:26:51):
That's not how you that's how you dress them down. Yeah.

Speaker 13 (02:26:54):
See for me, you don't do that.

Speaker 15 (02:26:56):
That's Stan skinned.

Speaker 16 (02:26:57):
To me, that's Stan skin because you're hiding behind the
microphone just and the media, just as people hide behind
keyboards and talk all the mess on on the social
apps and everything.

Speaker 6 (02:27:08):
Take it up face to face in private with your
teammate if you've got a problem, absolutely, and the coach.

Speaker 15 (02:27:13):
And the coaches, the coaches too.

Speaker 16 (02:27:14):
You got too many damn coaches now win and it's
just too too much and that's the problem. And dude, guys,
people look y'all, y'all hear me yap with these guys
and and bust balls. I'm dead serious, man, I'm dead serious.
If people don't start getting thicker skin and standing up,

(02:27:37):
we all in trouble. And I'm being dead serious, man.
I mean, too many people get their feelings hurt.

Speaker 4 (02:27:45):
By that's a fact everywhere. Society everywhere, no.

Speaker 15 (02:27:50):
Society everywhere, And you know, I just it drives me insane.

Speaker 6 (02:27:56):
But that and unfortunately people enable that too. Again, that's enough.
I can't stand. They're just as guilty and able in
that crap.

Speaker 15 (02:28:03):
So now I'm gonna give you something else.

Speaker 16 (02:28:05):
So have y'all ever had a bacon cheeseburger with peanut butter?

Speaker 5 (02:28:13):
I've tasted one.

Speaker 6 (02:28:14):
I have, yes, and it's actually it's it actually sounds awful,
but it's underrated.

Speaker 5 (02:28:19):
They're good, though, it is good.

Speaker 15 (02:28:21):
Are good?

Speaker 7 (02:28:23):
Now?

Speaker 15 (02:28:23):
You don't put nothing else on? You won't put lettuce
on it? That's fine?

Speaker 9 (02:28:26):
Are you.

Speaker 15 (02:28:28):
Just strictly bacon cheeseburgers?

Speaker 5 (02:28:32):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (02:28:32):
What kind of peanut butter is yours? The smooth, the
smooth kind, or the one with nuts in it. No, well, no,
I'm just asking which one is it? Okay, I figured
you were gonna say, well, the one with no.

Speaker 5 (02:28:45):
No no, no, no, no, no, I ain't happening.

Speaker 4 (02:28:55):
In all transparency, I've had some some health issues over
the last month that I've been trying to get to
the bottom of. Yeah, yeah, yeah, So I had another
procedure done yesterday. I'm all right, I'm hanging in there. Dog,
We'll be all right.

Speaker 15 (02:29:05):
You know, we break balls and everything and everything.

Speaker 5 (02:29:08):
But you know, hey, you know he's a warrior. He
is He's a warrior. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 16 (02:29:14):
Now, the last question I have for you Brown for
the weekend with your cheerleading and hype and everything, did
you hear about c D.

Speaker 15 (02:29:23):
Did you hear that?

Speaker 5 (02:29:24):
Enjoy the weekend? John enjoyed at the dearly.

Speaker 6 (02:29:27):
But at the same time you put that, you put
that in Hell, no, put that chunky peanut butter on
your burger these nuts.

Speaker 4 (02:29:35):
Alright, let's talk a little college football with national college
football insider Barrett Sally next right here on Sports Talk
seven to eighty.

Speaker 1 (02:29:44):
But the Shawn Salisbury Show continued.

Speaker 4 (02:29:55):
What are backing to Shawn Salisbury show here on Sports
Talk seven on e't Sewan Salisbury, brian O, Lima, Manu Elm.
We're now we're gonna welcome in national college football insider
Barrett Salite. Yeah, it's been way too long since that
have my guy on.

Speaker 6 (02:30:06):
You'd get him at Serious XM College Radio where he's
talking all college football. Also a columnist at out Kick
and one of my favorite dudes in a great, great
follow on Twitter as well.

Speaker 5 (02:30:17):
Barrett, what's up, brother, It's good to have you on.

Speaker 6 (02:30:19):
Man.

Speaker 5 (02:30:19):
I've been way too long, my man.

Speaker 8 (02:30:22):
It's been way too long. And I'll go ahead and
send you my Venmo address, some of your Venmo address.
I'll say you all that money for those nice well, yeah, you.

Speaker 6 (02:30:30):
Do it, man, And it's okay. You can send me
the money. I'm not turning it down. I'll just treat
you to a meal when you come to down. I
was all is good here, brother, things are good. You know,
we got a slightly decent college football game coming to
Texas this week, a couple hours away from Houston. You
picked Georgia and Texas in what back in August to
be the national title game.

Speaker 5 (02:30:51):
Do you still feel that way do you still feel
that way?

Speaker 12 (02:30:55):
No?

Speaker 8 (02:30:57):
Why, I don't know what to make of Georgia. They're
just sort of running the football. Last time we saw
Carson Beck in a massive road game, we saw Alabama,
which was a disaster. Now, it was funny get Sean
because he threw for over four hundred yards and was

(02:31:18):
horrendous in that game. It was so bizarre, And you know,
beyond that, I just don't trust that they can establish
the un consistently enough to beat elite teams. So I
still think Texas is there. I'd say Texas wins the
national championship at this point. Will Georgia be there? I

(02:31:41):
don't think so, because if Texas wins this game, and
I think will, then George is putting a pretty difficult
predictament because that schedule is pretty rough. Losing a third
game based on the way they played wouldn't be out
of the question. So making the playoff might not even
happen for Georgia.

Speaker 7 (02:31:58):
Fit is this game?

Speaker 5 (02:31:58):
Hey Bert?

Speaker 6 (02:31:59):
With that and talking about this, you know, rarely over
the last let's say six or seven years, you know,
I know Alabama with Nick's been in there as well,
but there's very few times Georgia goes into a game
where you can match their physicality for four quarters, right, Yeah,
And this season it feels to me and with Sark,
who's got that great perimeter stuff and they've been able
to run it. But it's to the point now where

(02:32:20):
their physicality is making a huge difference in their football
team and why you and I both think they're the
national championship type team if if not win it. So
is the Does the physicality actually favor the Longhorns in
this game over Georgia, which we don't say very much
twenty twenty four, it seems different.

Speaker 8 (02:32:39):
I think it does, but not by a ton because physicality,
like that's George's calling part and really that hasn't been
much of an issue this year.

Speaker 1 (02:32:47):
But it's how Start made this program what it is.

Speaker 8 (02:32:51):
I mean, I think Stark got that job and Texas
was announced going to the SEC. It's like, Okay, let's
do this the way it needs to be done, and
that's from the inside out. And and Start's done that,
and I think it's playing paying dividends this year, paid
dividends last year too, and and I think that's that's
a big reason why Texas has.

Speaker 7 (02:33:13):
Hate the stupid phrase.

Speaker 8 (02:33:14):
But Texas is back Texas last year improvement, right, And
I think, you know, it's just like people people around
here in Georgia like Texas isn't back.

Speaker 1 (02:33:24):
I'm like, dude, they went to the playoff last year.

Speaker 11 (02:33:30):
Yeah yeah, but yeah, I mean they they are the.

Speaker 1 (02:33:34):
Most physical team in the SEC. I truly believe that
right now.

Speaker 8 (02:33:38):
And that's a huge credit to start the foresight, the
ability to navigate not just the transfer.

Speaker 1 (02:33:45):
Portal, but more specifically high school recruiting and.

Speaker 8 (02:33:47):
And you know, and realize and evaluate which players who
highly tuted offensive lineman, defensive lineman actually have what it
takes to get even better at the college level. So yeah,
this is it's an SEC caliber team. We saw that
last year and that's been the plane for Sark from

(02:34:07):
the moment the you know he got that job in
the SEC came calling and he's done a tremendous job.
And you know, like you said, that's why this in
this matchup from a physicality perspective, it's still favors Texas.
Not about a lot, but it does favorite Texas.

Speaker 4 (02:34:23):
Yeah, football host, they have no doubt about it.

Speaker 6 (02:34:25):
And it's at home, smothered and covered serious XM College
Radio and it does a fabulous job. Been covering this
game for a long time and also a columnist on
OutKick Barrett.

Speaker 5 (02:34:35):
Because you're in Georgia and you cover this, it's like
you're you're in the locker room with him.

Speaker 6 (02:34:40):
Is the same buy Is the same buy in that
we've seen from Georgia? Are we I'm just trying to
get from Texas perspective? Because they feel different? Like he
talked about running the football, It's different, is Kirby's Kirby's
speech isn't getting old yet?

Speaker 8 (02:34:53):
Is it?

Speaker 5 (02:34:54):
It's the same?

Speaker 6 (02:34:54):
Mean because I love him as a coach. I mean,
that's it. We don't have to concern it. He's not
going to the NFL. He's there and bought he's in.
Is the same buy in?

Speaker 5 (02:35:02):
Or is it just a talent thing?

Speaker 6 (02:35:03):
What is it that's making us question Georgia already this
year after this run they've had. Why are we questioning
them and they're in the top five in the country right.

Speaker 8 (02:35:12):
Because they haven't looked like themselves right right? You know,
it's like sort of the same thing with Alabama to
a lesser degree. It's like you you don't look like
what you're supposed to look like it's it's one ring Heason.

Speaker 1 (02:35:25):
Loss and the sky is falling. Well, why is the
sky's fall Why is the sky falling?

Speaker 8 (02:35:28):
Well, you know, Kentucky had the ball with under two
minutes ago, with a chance to win, Like they literally
had a chance to win, which is not like one
of those sleepy games where okay, maybe they will go
through the motions and beat Missouri or go through the
motions and you know, really, aren't that threatened by Auburn
or whatever. You know, this is danger zone they were

(02:35:51):
in with Kentucky. It was an awful big game performance
against Alabama, at least for thirty minutes. You know, this
is not like the floor is lower than it's been.
And I think that's the problem is that when Georgia
played their D level game, you know, the last four
or five years, they could still kick somebody's tail. Right now,

(02:36:11):
they play their D level game, they might lose, like
to anybody, right And so I think that's the problem,
and that's a frustration that doesn't it just exist with
Kirby and with Georgia fans.

Speaker 1 (02:36:24):
I mean, I talk about it on my show a lot.

Speaker 8 (02:36:26):
The transfer portal has really shrunk the gap between the
great teams, the good teams, and the gisto pay teams.

Speaker 25 (02:36:33):
And I use the example with Alabama.

Speaker 8 (02:36:36):
Eli Holstein was the third quarterback on that roster, and
he's just kicking tail at it right, Like that would
not have happened in your day, right, You just know
somebody would have waited three years, would have satis asked
down till he was a junior, and hopefully he won
the job down exactly. And like, look, George is what
are their best linebackers left for Kentucky? Jaman Dumas Johnson

(02:36:58):
left for Kentucky. It's like, wait a minute, this is
not the same thing anymore. So you know, I think
that's a frustration that Kirby has as well, and I
think everybody's trying to figure out how to navigate through
that in this day and age, and Kirky.

Speaker 1 (02:37:14):
Is one of one of those guys.

Speaker 8 (02:37:16):
And as a result, though, you have teams like Georgia,
you have teams like Alabama, Ohio State where the floor
of their team, the floor of.

Speaker 1 (02:37:23):
That of any given game, might get to beat by
any bert.

Speaker 6 (02:37:27):
You've seen both old school, You've covered it for a
long time. I haven't asked you about this, and I'll
get back to that game before I let you go
to the game this weekend with Georgia coming into Austin.
Do you like the landscape of college football? Just the overall,
the way they're playing, the loyalty, the money, the transfer portal.
Is this your favorite version of college football? Or do

(02:37:49):
you miss a little bit of old school? Where are
we with the landscape?

Speaker 11 (02:37:53):
I mean, not to die the question.

Speaker 8 (02:37:55):
So it's a little bit of from column A, a
little bit from colum B. I'm fine with them getting paid.
I'm fine with player movement. I'm not fine with the
lack of structure. But the n C Double A is
beautifully dysfunctional, so I guess.

Speaker 4 (02:38:07):
It's not that surprising.

Speaker 8 (02:38:09):
Yeah, right, But I'm okay with that aspect of it.

Speaker 25 (02:38:12):
I'm not okay with the on the field desire to
become the l College football, to me, is a much
better product in terms of overall and.

Speaker 4 (02:38:22):
A man, I don't think it's close, to be honest
with you, I don't don't get close.

Speaker 8 (02:38:27):
Go back and look at the last two weekends of
college football. I mean, they both of them were just
on real.

Speaker 1 (02:38:33):
But the nflization of it does bother me.

Speaker 8 (02:38:36):
I don't like an expanded playoff. I wish we could
go back to the BCS. I know that's not going
to happen. We're not going to go back to the
four team.

Speaker 7 (02:38:45):
But you know, but on the.

Speaker 8 (02:38:47):
Field, like the the governance with how they're changing the
product itself bothers me. But the goal off the field
that they're trying to achieve I'm kind of okay with.

Speaker 5 (02:39:00):
Makes sense.

Speaker 8 (02:39:01):
It's just not it's not it's just not operating very well.
And you know, there's chefs in the kitchen, there's no
there's no leader some more.

Speaker 6 (02:39:09):
Yeah, I was gonna say the leadership. I'm trying to
figure out who that is. And it's organized chaos. But
it's still on my saturdays. Yeah, you know, well why not?

Speaker 5 (02:39:18):
Why not?

Speaker 6 (02:39:19):
I can promise you this, we can't do any worse.
Brother at the leadership part of it that I promise.

Speaker 5 (02:39:25):
I promise we can.

Speaker 6 (02:39:26):
We can fool him into thinking we know more than
we do. I'll let you run it and I'll just
be your right hand man, all right, before we go?

Speaker 10 (02:39:31):
There you go?

Speaker 5 (02:39:32):
Before we go? Is if just fill in the blank
for me, Georgia wins.

Speaker 1 (02:39:37):
If they average five yards per carry.

Speaker 6 (02:39:45):
So the run game domination at the point of attack
is pushing the pile and playing playing in short yard
at second and third down.

Speaker 8 (02:39:52):
Yes, and keeping quinn yours off the field.

Speaker 5 (02:39:55):
Okay, all right, And and the Longhorns win.

Speaker 8 (02:39:59):
If the Longhorns win, if they jump out to fourteen
point lead or even a ten point lead early, I
don't think I don't think Carson Beck can handle it.

Speaker 5 (02:40:10):
So making making Georgia chase the entire.

Speaker 8 (02:40:13):
Game because they've already give up the running game, yep,
like they did that against Alabama.

Speaker 1 (02:40:18):
And look, Carson becks the players, I mean on the road.

Speaker 8 (02:40:22):
I don't know if I trust him. He takes too
many chances. And look that's not all his fault because
it is the running game that that definitely hurts him there.
But yeah, if if they get up to a double
digit lead relatively early Georgia had, Georgia has and will
abandon the running game and get Carson back way too much.

Speaker 6 (02:40:40):
Become one to mission. Okay, let me ask this. You
brought up the quarterbacks too. Let me switch the quarterbacks
foot one in Georgia and the other one in Austin
which team's upgraded Becks, it's the starting quarterback for Texas
and Quinn yours is the starting quarterback for Georgia.

Speaker 5 (02:40:54):
Who wins that trade?

Speaker 1 (02:40:57):
Georgia would win the trade. I don't think they'd win
the game.

Speaker 6 (02:41:01):
So you think if Beck was here, that teams still
good enough. He's good enough to still take the win.
But overall for the long haul, you would take Georgia
with the win of the trade.

Speaker 8 (02:41:13):
Yes, but yes, but but I think like with Texas,
Carson Beck there, they've still got a great offensive line, right,
They're still doing final running game. They still have, you know,
a really good group of receivers putting some freshmen. It's
not just a quarterback that's making Texas Texas successful.

Speaker 6 (02:41:30):
Great point. Now give me a score of this one.
What do you think, oh man, even if it's not
a score, since you have these guys, I mean you
had them at the beginning season National time, who do
you is this close or are we Are you thinking
that it's that the difference is double digits?

Speaker 5 (02:41:46):
What are we talking about?

Speaker 8 (02:41:47):
I think I think it'll be a lot like the
Texas Alabama game last year. Close, even in the fourth quarter.
Texas gets a couple of late touchdowns, wins. Let's just
make Hey, you know what, let's do exactly what al Texas.

Speaker 4 (02:42:01):
Alabama was thirty twenty one, thirty one twice.

Speaker 5 (02:42:04):
So it's a convincing win, especially late for you in Austin.

Speaker 8 (02:42:07):
I don't think it'll be convincing them.

Speaker 7 (02:42:09):
I don't think it all.

Speaker 4 (02:42:10):
You think it's a late win.

Speaker 6 (02:42:12):
They win by ten, but it's almost a like a
late they're up by three and score a late touchdown
to put it away with four.

Speaker 5 (02:42:17):
Minutes to go, A type of thing, got you correct?

Speaker 7 (02:42:19):
Correct?

Speaker 5 (02:42:19):
I know one thing.

Speaker 6 (02:42:20):
I ain't missing a snap of it, brother, And it's
going to be buzzing in Austin this weekend.

Speaker 5 (02:42:24):
I can't wait.

Speaker 6 (02:42:25):
If you're fainting of Hearts game, you probably don't want
to watch any of us because you need not apply.
They're going to be popping pads and I can't wait
to see it as you get to see Georgia and
college football all the time, and they are putting two
great products on the field. Can't wait, brother, Hey, let's
get you back on on as regularly as we can.

Speaker 5 (02:42:40):
I love your inside as always.

Speaker 8 (02:42:42):
Yeah, man, absolutely, thanks for having me and I look
forward to it.

Speaker 6 (02:42:45):
You're the man appreciate you. That's Barretsley, one of my
favorites in college football. Covers it well and being a
guy in the Georgia area, likes Texas by double digits.
But that late touchdown that shows it up like a
I don't want to say a throwaway touching, but you
get the ball back, go down there and then there's
not enough time for them to get back. Pop some pads, Dog,
and they're gonna be popping pads. Barrett covers it and
listen it. He's running that show every day on It

(02:43:06):
Serious Exam and doing his college football show and covering
it on out Kick.

Speaker 5 (02:43:10):
That's Barrettsley.

Speaker 6 (02:43:11):
We'll come back and discuss more here the time as
we finish up Longhorns and Georgia. It's the biggest game
of the weekend anywhere any level, even high school Sports
Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 11 (02:43:24):
This is all Green Jailing, Green Jailing for three born.

Speaker 4 (02:43:29):
So very continues now a sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 7 (02:43:32):
Huh for your.

Speaker 11 (02:43:33):
Rockets, LSU Baby.

Speaker 4 (02:44:01):
Taking on Arkansas this weekend, big one in Fayetteville. Yeah,
all right, let's get right to some pics. Running out
of time here on the show with her against the spread.
Barrett sale just joined us. If you missed it, it's
on our blog Sports seven hinightty dot com college football
insider for serious ExM Channel eighty four.

Speaker 6 (02:44:19):
Great dude and does a great job on all college football.
Say I'm gonna go gainst the spread.

Speaker 5 (02:44:25):
Okay, just tell me what it is. When you're in
Virginia at Clemson, Clemson minus twenty one.

Speaker 6 (02:44:30):
Virginia wins. Virginia gets inside the number, but Clemson wins.

Speaker 4 (02:44:33):
Oh, here's a sneaky one. Miami at Louisville, Miami minus five.

Speaker 5 (02:44:38):
Give me Miami cover on the road. Okay. Alabama at
Tennessee Alabama minus three. Tennessee wins. At home.

Speaker 4 (02:44:45):
Michigan Illinois Michigan favored by three and a half.

Speaker 5 (02:44:50):
Michigan but close this one.

Speaker 6 (02:44:52):
I wouldn't bet this one, but Illinois is gonna give
him a little bit of trouble. They got a horrible offense.
Michigan is like one hundred and tenth or something hundred eighteenth.

Speaker 4 (02:45:00):
Houston at Kansas, Kansas favored by five and a half.

Speaker 5 (02:45:04):
Jimmy Kansas at home.

Speaker 4 (02:45:05):
I'm taking you of h plus five and a half
given to me dog and then the big one Texas
and Alabama.

Speaker 5 (02:45:11):
Excuse me, Texas and Georgia. Damn it, I was reading
spread again.

Speaker 4 (02:45:15):
Texas favored by four and a half, Longhorns by six.

Speaker 5 (02:45:20):
Ooh, okay, all.

Speaker 4 (02:45:21):
Right, and then the Houston Texans traveling to Green Bay
to take on Jordan Love and the Packers spread spread right?

Speaker 12 (02:45:32):
Now?

Speaker 5 (02:45:33):
Is the Packers favored by two and a half. Give
me the Packers. I think it's a field goal three
or four. Listen.

Speaker 6 (02:45:38):
I hope I'm wrong. I just think that you got
to prove to me that you can win. They've done
it on offense without Nico Collins, without Joe Mixon. Now
you've got to prove to me on defense that you
can stop a two dimensional team with some limitations defensively
with your players. So hope I'm wrong. But they can
win on the road. Yeah, I think injuries would be
too much a little bit more for Green Bay. Give

(02:45:59):
me them by three.

Speaker 5 (02:46:00):
I'm ryan with the Texans.

Speaker 8 (02:46:01):
I like it.

Speaker 4 (02:46:02):
Yes, I think the defense feasts. They eat dog, let
me eat. I do think that Texans win this.

Speaker 5 (02:46:08):
I hope you're right.

Speaker 6 (02:46:09):
And six and one sounds awfully nice, and that would
mean you need another good team.

Speaker 4 (02:46:12):
Y'all enjoy the UH Texas versus Georgia game. I'll be
at another weddings.

Speaker 6 (02:46:16):
Yeah, what a shock. Good luck, I have a good one.
Don't plaint soft tissue, protect your soft tissue. I need
you all season.

Speaker 5 (02:46:22):
Yeah, I'll try not to ory. I'll be here. I
know you'll share. You know you'll show up, and then
what do you do when you'll show out? Thank you?
I just hope everybody plays hard this weekend. Give it
one hundred and ten percent.
