Following a great holiday weekend, the heat begins to rise as we enter the fall, primed for America's favorite time of year: football season. Kicking off Week 0 in the NCAA this weekend, followed by Week 1 in the NFL set to begin Thursday, fans are ready and prepared for the official start of the gridiron season. Looking ahead, as baseball season intensifies with the postseason on the horizon, and with football season kicking off for college and the pros, Sean, Dan, and Chris take a moment to review this recently sports-filled weekend with a few things to be mindful of moving into the fall.

is probably gonna have a lot of Texas fans that

Well, I think you're gonna get and I heard you
guys talking about it. Sean, you know, knows better than
than anybody. The problem is that arch Manning was facing
in his debut. But you know, the way the schedule
sets up, Texas gets to come back home, you get
San Jose State UTEP in Sam Houston the next three weeks,
then you get a bye, then you're at Florida, so
you got a month to get arch Manning ready. Look,
the defense is was fine. I didn't have a problem

with what how the defense played. I thought the run
game was decent for Texas, so it's all leaned on
that even more and arches leg probably yeah, but I
just think arch. It was just it was a lot
of nerves. It was it sucks that that's the game
right out of the gates. And I think, you know,
I think teams are gonna look at this a little
bit more and go gosh, opening the season, these games

are so fun week one. But look at Oklahoma. They
opened with Illinois State and now they get Michigan in
week two.

And they're raving about John Mattiers performance.

You're gonna see a much better prepared Oklahoma team this
week than if they played Michigan in Week one with
a new quarterback. So I just think that that's that's
the challenges. Look, that was a hostile environment, tough road environment,
the easy thing. And I said this last week, it's
easy to overreact. Oh Art sucks, Texas overrated, drop them down.
This team's got a lot of season left. They're gonna

get better. Arts is gonna get better. He's not gonna
look like that every week.

Yeah, And the hardest thing to do is go back
the next day and be self critic It's hard to do,
but you got to.

And he will listen.

One thing you know that he will prepare because if
he lets this game define him, then then this festers
into they beat their next opponent by you know, seven
or ten points and they struggle. That defense is real.
They can run the football physical and a guy that
we all think, listen, you don't have that many experts
in football, from that Manning family to Steve Sarkizi into

going out and recruiting and anybody that's watched him play
throughout the years, from your guy at Oarzaron all the
way through that you just automatical think, oh, the guy sucks.
The hype, But the hype didn't come from him. He
didn't stand up there and say, men, I want you
guys know the greats fall time. It's all been created
because the last name in his high school performance and
how he was raised right to be in this position.

He's got to play better and the mechanics under duress
are going to be a problem if they don't get fixed.
They have got to get better, and he's got to
play better under dress, and there's gonna be plenty more
games where he's going to get the opportunity to do that.
But we are such a knee jerk society on the position.
It ain't easy and I know how it is to
come out of your first performance. And I still say

first start against a hostile opponent. Does that make sense
for arch Manning third start? Ever, I've told you this
before my first start. You come at it and it
was brutal and tough, and you had to fight and
scratch for every yard against a great Florida defense and
the best defensive player I saw in my life in
a game in Wilbur Marshall. But then we went on
a seven game run, boom boom, boom before I shredded money,

so we became one of the hottest offense in the league.
And I could have played better in the first game.
I did some good things, but there's a you missed
that throw er, you stepped into a sack. You should
have got the rear of the ball quicker or held
on to it a little longer, and you learn those
valuable lessons. And I'd played as a freshman as a backup.
I played, I got snaps and played in games, but
it's still you still are really ready until you see

the light switch go on in that and arch Maning
will face it. And I was as a five star.
Everybody was over the expectations, and we were on the road,
had two top ten teams or top fifteen teams, and
they got the best of us. We got them the
next year back at our Billy. But from that, guess
what you'll learn to see things a little quicker, Gordon
and he will.

didn't even play any of their true freshmen and wide receivers,
all these four star and five star talent. He said,

Dame lose at home. What everybody say, ah, Elko not great?
Then what by down the stretch of the season, they're
they're leading the SEC. They went into the game against Texas. Literally,

to win the championship. All this stuff going into twenty
twenty six, just like we'll put the cart before the horse.

We got to see more out of him first. Let
him develop one thing.

I can guarantee you he won't approach next week the
way we're talking about it now. Oh Pa, he'll go
back to work and do his thing, because if he

friggin good, and Patricia had a great plan. He just

misthrows that he'd normally make with one eye open. His
mechanics with his lower half weren't good, and his armslot
was not good. Now, he'll make some great throws, but
when you're playing against Michigan, LSU, Southern cal Ohio State,
the teams that run to the foot, but Notre Dame,
the windows are those windows aren't going to get any
bigger than he missed. And he knows that most of

the time I'll make them. But you go back and
watch it, you're gonna see mechanics under duress were a problem.

it for a new offensive linemen in a very difficult

conference is hard to replace and University of Texas, of
all the great players they have, no matter how good
the recruits are, that's a difficult replacement, and so they've
got to grow into it as well as witness Cordy
by the last play a three man rush you got
you can't let three men rush pressure. The right tackle

outside edge rusher that forced the throw the catch, the

It felt like he kept it simple enough for them

concervative his first half. I didn't think that.

stretch the field, then they're just gonna keep playing underneath.

me about arch and doing it for he goes, hey,
we'll go through this. He'll be fine, but he's prepared
for this and we're just gonna let it rip. That
was his last friend, and he did not let it rip.
For the first half. He played not to lose as
opposed to attack to win. It was almost a feeling
out situation, which I get Patricia the whole thing.

it for a new offensive linemen in a very difficult

conference is hard to replace and University of Texas, of
all the great players they have, no matter how good
the recruits are, that's a difficult replacement, and so they've
got to grow into it as well as witness Cordy
by the last play a three man rush you got
you can't let three men rush pressure. The right tackle
looked inside. He didn't even get a hand on the
outside edge rusher that forced the throw the catch, the

You could lose at Oklahoma in the final week, you
could lose at home to A and M, which they
haven't done since Aggie's have been in the conference. But

all said and done. Alabama thing is interesting because I
just think they were in an impossible spot. They went
into a hornet's nest of Florida State. And I said

it's a new quarterback, it's a whole new receiver room.
That said is not to and ten Florida State. Yet,
people and ten Florida State, they suck. No, Mike Norvel
can coach. Two seasons ago he won double digit wins.

past week and you saw LSU obviously at the top

Yeah, I think you got to give them credit figure
it out. Yes, you ain't saying they'll figure out. I
mean again they this you get two losses, so even
if they lose their two toughest games, Ohio State's gonna
win the other ten and they'll be right there. I
think Clemson still bounces. I still think Clemson's a good team.
I think Club Nick just got you know, one of

about that, and LS you just pin their ears back
in Miami.

really impressed with this is gonna be This is a

he's only gonna get better as he sees it. But

and I did not expect that performance in his first time.

then the second inning it wasn't. And I said it
on the postgame show Sunday. I get he's a highly
paid guy, but you know what, what if I just
asked him give me one inning at the time.

Gordy right now, I don't think you can ask to
get more from him. Yeah, I really don't. And it's
I'm not even thinking about the money. I'm thinking about
the success of the team. I'll deal with the money
