(00:00):
Bob pick A Naughtie eighty one Kaveand on the line with us right now,
we have got Tim Jackson, theRound Rock Express GM. Tim.
Everybody's excited they're Rangers World Series champion. But wait a minute, there's a
local connection to this with the RoundRocky Express. And I'm gonna let you
tell our listeners all about it.Well, thanks for having me, Bob.
I mean, it's still just sosurreal for us to kind of see

(00:22):
it today and watching that game lastnight, I know this has been a
long time coming for Rangers and forme personally. And I'm a Metroplex kid
as well. On top of mytime here at the Express, and so
you know, I grew up twentyminutes from the stadium there, and you
know, twenty eleven's the last WorldSeries are in and everybody knows how that
ended up. So it's been twelveyears since the World Series appearance, and
to get a guy like Bruce Bochicoming in in year one and the investments

(00:45):
that ownership made and Chris Young andhis front office staff just a magical run.
I mean, eleven and zero onthe road is just insane. Nobody
thought they'd be there, especially theway the seat in the regular season ended,
and you know, losing that lastgame against Seattle and not winning division
and having to do it the hardway. So just a madule thing to
be a part of. And ofcourse us here, the Triple A affiliate,

(01:06):
we feel like, you know,we played a tiny part in this,
but so many of those guys reallyon that roster last night, twelve
players were former players for US whowere here at various times, and two
of the coaches there Mike Maddocks, the pitching coaches here back in the early
two thousands. Just to feel likeyou're a part of that a little bit.
You get to know the players andtheir stories and their families, and

(01:26):
you understand the ups and the downsand the long seasons. You just feel
like you get to celebrate that.I know our fans here in Round Rock
and Central Texas feel the same way. You don't have to be a Rangers
fan to be happy for the Expressplayers that have gotten there and really gotten
too the pinnacle of the game ofbaseball and so still pinching ourselves today and
I'm really excited about it. Well, Okay, what are we going to

(01:46):
do to celebrate? I know they'vegot the big parade in Arlington. What
are we going to do to celebratein Round Rock, celebrate the victory.
Well, that's a good question.Yeah, we had a lot of conversations.
We don't want to get out infront of ourselves yesterday, but said,
well what do we do here?Obviously we're trying to get some more
staff up to the parade tomorrow thereat Arlington, but trying to stay connected
with the Rangers on some sort oftrophy tour that they might do next year.

(02:07):
You know, we always have astanding Rangers caravan that's tell January.
Yeah, we had Nathan Evaldi asa matter of fact, it was with
us last year at that event. So maybe get boat you down here.
Who knows, but I'm sure they'llbe We'll kick off in a big way,
and I'm sure there's a ton ofgreat you know, giveaways and activations
the Rangers are going to concoct andhave been concocting here in the last few

(02:27):
weeks that we want attach to butdo everything we possibly can to stay connected
with it and ride that excitement inthe next year. Well, Tim,
I think it's time for a bigfamily reunion. I know that deal with
everything going on with the trophies. So let's also talk about the Round Rocky
Express because it didn't turn out theway we wanted to do this season,
but we got so close, soclose, and yeah we did. Yeah,

(02:49):
sorry, we kind of we jokedat that championship. It's infectious that
culture, you know, I guessso we'd like to think maybe we spurred
the Rangers on in a way,but we did. You know, there's
a ton of young talent. Obviouslyyou know that they're on the big league
club that came through here, butthere's a ton yet to come. A
name like Wyatt Langford was the whatnumber three pick this past year. He
made it up to us in theOklahoma City playoffs and he's a heck of

(03:12):
a player. I'll tell you,I hope he's with us next year.
You've got Jack Lyder and some otherbig name pitchers coming up justin Fosk,
you who was here. There's stilla lot of talent in this pipeline next
year, and so really getting thetaste, you end up being really the
best team in the Pacific Coast Leagueall season long when you look at actually
the person take half, but thewhole season, and so you know,

(03:34):
Doug Davis is our manager, andhe's been He's like a Bruce Bochie two
point zero. He's seen it all, he's done it all. He's calm,
cool, collected. He's never toohigh and never too low. So
he was a great influence. He'llbe back next year for us too.
So yeah, there's a ton ofexcitement around it for us here and around
Rock. We've got to keep thisthing going next year. And of course
the season starts is it? Isit March or April of next year?

(03:54):
It's March. I believe it's March. It's crazy we already start talking about
it. Well, sugar Line,i'velready checked ahead. I know that that's
right. Yeah, Friday March twentyninth, we'll open up a big weekend
there. I'm sure we'll have someWorld Series touches over that weekend as well.
And so yeah, Friday March twentyninth, we kick off as early
as we've ever done and then runit through September. And can I tell

(04:15):
you how cool it is to seethese players from Round Rock advance and you're
following their entire careers. It's justunbelievable. But again, congratulations to the
Texas Rangers. Congratulations to the RoundRock Express because you guys had a big
part in last night's championship game.Well, we sure like to think,
so we appreciate it. And againcongrats to the Rangers and Chris Young,

(04:35):
that whole front office staff and obviouslythe fans that they couldn't do without you,
and so we look forward to rydingthat momentum into a great twenty twenty
four. This is Round Rock ExpressGeneral manager Tim Jackson, and we'll see
how Dale Diamond, of course, next spring
