me and Corey were at his housefor dinner one night, and we were
trying to decide where we were goingto get married, and Corey weren't getting
married and love it, and nowI wanted to get married in Waco.

we did. And and Django,of course showed up at that one too.
Okay, so where were you thefirst time he saw Jerry Jeff Walker
alive? Was it in Lubbock?The first time I saw Jerry Jeff was
in Lubbock. I was opening actand uh, it's some frat party anyway.

I snuck my way backstage, andyou know I had I had this
guitar. Still I have it.It's been signed by everybody I've ever done
a show with. I walked backand I was hiding in his you know,
his backstage. He goes, whatare you doing here? When he
comes off stage, I said,well, I need you to sign this

guitar. Wow, it's a specialguitar. It's been shout by get Jerry
Clower, Willie Nelson. And hegoes and he signed it, and he
goes, all right, you takeyour special guitar and get the out of
here. But that was the startof a beautiful friendship, right. Yeah,
it told me to get the fout. There was one time I

saw you performing at ACL a coupleof years ago, and you were wearing
a shirt that was given to youby Susan was one of Jerry Jeff Walker's
shirts. Yeah, yeah, Igot, I got two shirts I had.
I had a cigar box made forhim for Christmas one time, you

know, years ago, and andI've got that cigar box and he wrote
a little note in there. Soyeah, man, I missed him terribly.
Yeah. Well, I didn't meanfor the for the conversation to get
serious. But you know you're carryingon this tradition. You are. You
are this generation's Terry Jeff Walker.And it's the last night in New York
