Speaker 1 (00:00):
Eight oh five thirteen ten wib A and ask the
experts with Andrew Larson from Larsen Home Services Online Larsenhomes
Services dot com. That's Larson, L A R S O
N Home Services dot Com. Tell phone number six oh
eight five three five forty three forty three. That's five
three five forty three forty three. And we are playing
(00:21):
an intro there EAGLEYE Cherry and the guy's first name
is eagle Eye. And Andrew, Uh, how would you like
a name like eagle Eye? Kind of cool?
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Right? I mean it sounds pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Yeah, it's memorable, it's it's unique, it's it's one of
those things. Now you were you were blessed with a
common last name with a couple of different spellings. People
always say, why do you always accentuate the O in
the O n is? There are a couple of ways
to spell Larson, obviously most common is Owen, but you
really want folks to do that. And I'm looking at
(00:53):
the forecast. We've got rain coming up, and I want
to ask you about about protecting your home from rain
and the proper guy and that stuff. But real quick too,
on the name thing. Uh, you changed the name to
Larson Home Services and went with Larsen Home Services for
a reason, you really do. And and for folks that
haven't had a chance to work with you, I can
(01:13):
attest to this firsthand. You really do care about the
business to the point and your customers the point that
you're literally putting your name on it.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah, I mean, I think it made it more personal. Obviously,
people had seen me on TV and when we were
the other gutter company, and and and heard me on
the radio and we were i'd like to call it
a big box name, a big box gutter company name,
and you know, when we couldn't use that product anymore,
(01:44):
it seemed fitting to change it to Larsen because by
putting our name on every in the logo, on the building,
on the trucks, it means more. I mean, to this day,
I can't tell you that I don't drive by our
building and see the billboard and lights and kind of
get a little you know, chill. Yeah, you know. I
(02:05):
mean from starting in two thousand and nine with me
and my wife and one gutter installer to man, I
think we're at like one hundred and four employees right now,
score locations. It's like you know, it's it's pretty cool.
It's pretty cool. And I hear people all the time say, oh,
it must be nice, must be nice. Well, you know,
(02:27):
a lot of people don't understand that it started yeah,
fifteen years ago with three people and has grown into
what it is now. And I believe that it has
grown so fast and so well just simply because when
you do the right thing, good things happen. So we've
always put our motto. Our motto is if you work
(02:50):
for us, and you're an installer, you're a salesperson, you're
an appointment ceter whatever you do, it is customer first,
then company than you Now from a leadership standpoint, our
motto is customer first, employee second, then company. Because obviously
(03:11):
without our awesome techs and salespeople and lead setters and
everybody that does everything, then we don't have a Lars
and home services, and without the customers first, we have nothing.
So always doing what's right for everybody, whether whether doing
what's right makes us lose money, we do it. That's
just the way it is. It's the way we've always
done it, and that's the way we will continue to be.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
It's it's such a and it's such a refreshing thing
to hear and see and you know to know that.
And again I can speak to it personally, and I
know a number of people that have worked with you
and your team over the years, and everybody has just
raised rave reviews about the service. And that goes back
to is we're going to talk this morning about. Of course,
as we're in severe weather season, storms and rain and
(03:55):
other things. Is a lot of times and I'm dealing
with this down on Edgerton right now. My my, my, my,
poor ring doorbell is being run constantly with very high
pressure people trying to trying to sell and do all
these other things. One of the things that that's really
great about Larsen Home Services is, and we talk about
this on the program, is you like to educate people
(04:16):
and leave the decision completely up to them. It's not
a high pressure anything like that. It's like, here's what
you have, here's the solution we offer, here's what it's
going to cost, think about it, get back to us.
It's no pressure, nothing like that. And that extends throughout
the business as well. And going back to that customer
first approach, let's talk about like some of the solutions
(04:36):
you guys offer specifically, let's talk gutters with all of this.
Man we are. I'm looking at the forecast. I see rain, rain, rain.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Yes, yes, I think I need to get you one
of those signs, one of our signs you can put
right on your door that says, don't bother knocking. Yeah,
Larton Home Services got got us.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
I do, and I do tell them, because that's they.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Always are, like living there. I was down. I was
down in Edgerton and Evansville right after the storm. Yeah,
it was. There was just I don't even know. There
had to have been thirty forty contractors in every town
knocking on every single door. And which is fine. I mean,
that's just what they do. That's not what we do.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Yeah, and and and between you and me, I always
have the attitude of like, listen, it's I get it.
I understand it, and I'm not. I'm never rude to them.
I understand they've got that. That's they've got the job.
Yeah exactly. But AnyWho, uh, let's talk about let's let's talk.
We could do a whole industry chat one of these,
one of these more.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
I'm gonna be hey as soon as we get done
here today I'm shooting some more podcasts and we're going
to talk about storm restoration great again because I mean,
Wisconsin just got hammered last week. Again. I mean from
Fitchburg to Oregon to north of the like you name it,
big hail, all the way to Old Claire, all the
way to Milwaukee. So the storm I don't call them
(05:54):
stormers because this is a bad connotation. I'm gonna called
storm restoration companies because it is what they do. But anyway, yeah,
we're gonna be doing some more info. So we having
some more info coming out on our podcast hopefully early
next week.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Follow up Andrew and the team on Facebook and of
course Lars HomeServices dot com. That's Larson L A R.
S O N home Services dot com. So let's talk
a bit about gutters, Andrew, And obviously this is one
of those things that I learned from you over the
years is not only should gutters look nice and should
they should they perform? They also protect your home as
(06:28):
a whole, things like your foundation, your basement, other areas.
Really good gutters do a really good job of keeping
your house solid, don't.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
They they do? You know, I thought you were gonna
say something really cool. Like, one thing I've learned is
not all gutters are created.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Well, I have learned that, as.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
You know, listen, it's funny I talk gutters. I've lived
in the gutter so long it's literally been almost my
entire life. From the time I was nineteen years old,
I installed gutters. I then moved into selling gutters. I
then moved into sales management. I then opened my own company.
So I've been around gutters for a very very long time.
(07:10):
In fact, so much that when my daughters were like
six or seven, they were over here playing one day
and they'd seen one of our commercials on TV. They
thought that was so cool, and they're like, hey, Handy,
hey Handy, we'd like to be in your commercials. We
can be the gutter girls. No, it's a terrible idea. Anyway,
they were innocent. But yes, I've lived, breathed, and slept
(07:34):
gutters for a very very long time. And I take
for granted the fact that the gutters that we put
on people's homes don't add to their problems and add
to their maintenance. They take care of all of it.
And everybody knows that we did a different gutter product
for many years and it was a good product. It
really was. We did literally millions of feet of it.
(07:58):
Unfortunately then we couldn't do it any more, but good
for us. And I truly believe, truly believe, and I've
we've got numbers for service callbacks to prove it that
gutter shutter is the best functioning, maintenance free gutter on
the market. We don't go back to service it, and
if we do, it's typically things with downspout extensions getting
(08:21):
smashed or stuff like that. It has nothing to do
with the functionability of it. So when it comes to gutters,
we want a system that's going to be big enough,
strong enough, with adequate drainage to get the water from
the roof safely down to the ground so it is
not damaging siding, window wells getting into the basement. Because
I can tell you right now, the rain that we've
(08:41):
had the past couple days, this is a soaker. This
isn't like a you know, one inch in an hour
or something like. This is a soaker. Like the ground
is saturated. Everything saturated. Water is looking for a place
to go. This is the type of stuff here where
you know, besides that two three inches in an hour,
this people start seeing slow leaks into their basement if
(09:02):
they don't have a properly working gutter system or a
clean and free flowing gutter system. So with gutter shutter,
it has the size to carry anything. It doesn't even matter, Like,
I don't care how much rain we get. It's not
going to overflow. It's just not going to happen. It's
not gonna sag because of our brackets. The brackets you'd
(09:24):
literally It's funny because when I used to sell gutters
in the Twin Cities, there was a gutter shutter dealer
and their flyer had like six gutter shutter brackets and
on each side of a car tire and a truck
parked on top. And I always thought it was just
absolute bs until we started doing gutter shutter and I realized,
(09:47):
holy crap, they really are that strong. And then you
top it off with two screws in every bracket instead
of one, which doesn't seem like a big deal to
a lot of people, but if you've been doing gutters
long enough and you know that you get lots of
ice and snow in the winter, and it has a
lot of weight to it. We did a test one
day in an average five inch gutter, and one foot
(10:07):
of ice was twenty pounds in that gutter. One foot
of gutter filled with ice, so you're talking a lot
of weight. So I can sleep really well knowing that
when people buy this system, we're gonna put it up.
It's gonna look beautiful and it's gonna always work. They're
literally not gonna they're just gonna forget about it. You
don't have to clean them anymore. They're not overflowing anymore.
(10:28):
You look outside sometime and you see a leak coming
from the corner, it's not a big deal. Call us,
We come back and take care of it. Ever clogs,
we clean it for free. It pulls away from the house,
anything's wrong with it, We're gonna take care of it.
So it's peace of mind. You get what you pay for.
It's definitely not cheap, but the parts and components for
(10:48):
a system like this, being as large and being as
durable as they are, are actually quite expensive from the beginning.
So a material cost on it's not cheap. But when
you can put it on your home and know that
you never have to touch it again, and if something
does need attention, you just call us. It's not a
big deal. If we're not going to be like the
other guys and say nope, take your brush and brush
(11:10):
the top off. We're not going to be like the
other guys and say, yep, we'll come out and take
care of it. But it's a three hundred dollars charge
to come look at it. Noe. For us, it's absolutely free.
We come take care of it every time forever.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
It's pretty amazing. And as we talk with Andrew Larson
from Larstorm Services, great day to have somebody come out
from lars Storm Services take a look at your gutters,
take a look at your system, help you make that
determination about what exactly is going on, and of course
they'll give you that analysis. Great day to give them
a call at Larsenom Services. Again, we're just getting started
spring and summer here in Wisconsin. What we've experienced now
(11:43):
and we're experiencing now is a preview what's going to
go on for the next couple of months. So today
is today. You definitely want to give Andrew and the
team at Largetom Services a call telphone number six oh
eight five three five forty three forty three. That's six
