Speaker 1 (00:00):
Eight oh five thirteen ten Wiba Madison in the morning
and ask the experts. Brought to you by Larsen Home Services.
The website Larsenhome Services dot com. That's l A R.
S O N Home Services dot Com delpho number six
so eight five three five forty three forty three that's
five three five four three four three for lars Snome Services.

(00:22):
And enjoining us this morning is Andrew Larson from Larsnome Services. Andrew,
how you doing.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
It's raining? Yeah, you like range.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Rain's good, not a bad thing, not a bad thing.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
I got food plots that need to grow. Yes, you're hunting.
Oh yeah, time of year.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Hey, you had a I know you had a chance
last week to spend some time up in up in
the Northwoods up there in Canada.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
E beautiful part of the North America. Great area up there.
And uh one of the things I know is they
tend to get obviously because they're further north. It cools
down a little bit earlier. And I thought I saw
a possible report of later this week, a chance for
snow and parts of parts of Ontario. And we're not

(01:09):
even to fall yet meteorologically, but it has been cool,
hasn't it?

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Andrew, it was, and we had some nice days. But
the trees were already turning color up there, Oh were they?
Really it was, but it started. It wasn't when we
first got there. But by the last day nice the
trees were already starting to turn. We were getting down
into the upper forties at night. So it's coming, Yes,

(01:33):
it is. Listen, it is, by all accounts, the best
time of year for all, for all stay at home
mothers or stay at home fathers. Kids are back in school.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yes, it's noticeablaly quiet at the at the Larsen Compound
this morning.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Yeah, kids are back at school. Oh if there is
somebody who stays with them, all right, they've got some
more free time to get stuff done or binge watch Netflix.
I don't know. The trees will be turning colors. We've
got badger football started, Packers are starting this weekend. Fantasy
football leagues have been done, hunting season. Can listen. It's
a great time of year. But we all know what

(02:18):
comes at the end of this, you know what, like
hopefully it's like it has been the past few years,
and it comes like in December like it has been. Right,
you've been getting some amazing falls, which which is great.
But here's what I know. This happens every single year,
and it's happened for the last sixteen year, while fifteen years.

(02:40):
I hope it doesn't happen on the sixteenth year, but
I know it will when we get calls in November,
mid November, end of November. I need a new roof
and I need it done before winter. I need new
gutters and I need it done before winter. Look, we
do our best to accommodate, but fall is usually the
busiest time of year just because us naturally people procrastinate.

(03:02):
I am the same exact way. You know, when you
hold up a contractor license, you have to do continuing
education and you've got to get fourteen credits of continuing
education done every single two years. Every two years. Do
you know, and I get those credits done, seum.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
I'm gonna guess during the off season, Andrew.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
When they tell me I have thirty days to get done, Okay,
I've had two years. I've had two years, and now
I'm now I'm just getting her all done, right thirty
days or you're all, yes, this is what people do
with their their roofs and gutters. We procrastinate, even though

(03:42):
we could have called in April or Mark. So here's
the deal. If you're thinking, hey, you know last winter,
I've heard this many times. Yeah, we saw a little
spot on the ceiling, but then I went away so
we didn't worry about it. That can be one of
a few different things. That could be a roof problem.
That could be a condensation problem, that can be an

(04:05):
air ceiling and ventilation problem. It will come back. Have
us come take a look, do a roof inspection. We
do a full roof inspection. I can't tell you tell
you how many times we get business because the customer goes, well,
you're the third person and you're the only person that
actually got on the roof and inspected the roof. Well,

(04:28):
how the heck can you tell somebody they need a
new roof if you don't get on the roof and
take a look at it. Not only do we get
on the roof and take a look at it, we
take a video. We do photos so you can see
exactly what we're seeing. If we just did what most
conk directors do. If somebody calls for a roofing estimate,
they get an eagle view which is just a satellite

(04:50):
measure of the roof, and they come over and go
a right, well, here's your estimate. Well what if they
don't need a new roof, what if they just need
a restore. My point is, don't wait till the last minute.
If you think roof is almost there, or you possibly
thought you may have had a leak last winter but
it magically disappeared. Most roofs don't just heal themselves. It
just it might have been an ice and snow thing
that only rears its head in the winter. Have us

(05:12):
come out do an inspection. We'll tell you what you need.
Possibly you just possibly you've got a great roof. Everything's
going well, but you want to guarantee to prolong the
life of it, and we can put gonano on it.
I haven't talked about gonano in a while now. The
stuff is amazing. That is a coating that goes on
the roofs. We're basically exclusive in the state of Wisconsin.

(05:33):
You got to get it from Larsen or LARSENKINI Home Services.
We guarantee the extension of your life because it actually
bonds your roof at a molecular level, making it a
more elastic, so it's going to make it more resistant
to hail. Be it brings back some color and life
to it, kind of takes away some fading, and it
makes it more waterproof. Maybe you need a new roof,

(05:55):
maybe you don't. Also, the leaves will be falling if
you want to of Like right now, I mean, we're
we've been at a really good pace all year long.
You sign up for a gutter shutter install today, we
can possibly get it done next week or the week after.
We've been Yeah, we've here's what we've learned. Yeah, when

(06:17):
you've got great stuff, people don't want to wait a
long time. No, so we make sure that we have
the technicians to get the job done so people aren't
waiting three four or five six weeks. And we've been
there in the past. We've been that far out and
we've been at a basically a two ish week a
twoish week backlog all year which is which is perfect.

(06:38):
You sign up today, end of next week or beginning
of the week after, we can get it in. So
now we get you all excited for something. We don't
want to make you wait, you know, a month and
a half that stings, so we can still get it
done now end of September, mid October. I don't know
where we'll be at because that's I mean, that's when
we get really busy. Leaves turn color, start falling, and

(07:00):
people go, oh, man, I don't want to get up there.
So all I'm saying is, if you're thinking about it,
estimates are free. Yes, of course, when we come over,
we want to gain your business. But if it's something
that you don't want to do right now, you want
to do later whatever, at least you know you know

(07:22):
what it would cost to get your house fixed.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
One of the great things to Andrew about. And as
we talk with Andrew Larsenom Flarstom Services, one of the
great things too in working with you, you mentioned having
folks come out for that, have that assessment. Have you
take a look at the roof. As you mentioned, you've
got options at Larstom Services, So you're not just going
in there saying automatically you just need a new roof.
Let's rip this thing off, let's start over. You mentioned

(07:44):
go nano, talk about some of the other products, some
of the other techniques, whether it's through your roof for
store and other things. It's not a one size fits all.
It's it's literally customized to what you actually need if
you need anything. And I know one of the great
things about Larstom services is if you don't need something,
you're gonna tell folks your roof looks great, everything's fine,
call us when you need something and uh and and

(08:05):
move on from there. I mean, it's it's literally like, hey,
you guys have the options, which means you don't have
to force something unneeded on somebody that that they may
not they may not need because you guys have a
whole toolkit of different things for different applications.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Yeah. So that's again, I talk about that all the time.
That's what we've really tried to do. So many homeowners
call and say, yeah, I think I need a new roof,
and then someone comes out and says, yeah, you need
a new roof. Here you go, But you didn't get
on the roof and take a look. Yeah, so you
don't really know. Yeah, Or I have a roof leak,
I need a new roof. Well do you really need
a new roof or you just need us to fix

(08:39):
the leak. Because all we're trying to do is is
is help the homeowner get what they actually need and not.
Sometimes anybody listening don't take offense to this, but sometimes
homeowners don't know everything. We listen to the Google machine. Well,
you got a leak in your roof. Oh you need
a new roof. All my if it's twelve years old,

(09:00):
it's time for a new roof. That's not necessarily true.
A lot of contractors will tell you because it's easy,
and a lot of estimators or sales reps don't want
to get on the roof. It's a requirement for us.
You have to get on the roof. We have to
do an inspection so the homeowner knows exactly what's going on.
Sometimes homeowners think, when I don't need new gutters, My

(09:21):
gutters are perfectly fine. But when we get up and
we do the inspection and we use our tools and
we show what's really going on, the gutters are hung
completely wrong. The corners are all leaking, like there's nothing
we can do with that. But we're not going to
just say yes, you do, you have to have it.
So and again we get up there and look, there's
no leak. The shingles look like they're in great shape.

(09:43):
They're twelve years old. This is a perfect time for
a go nano application because once we apply that go nano,
we guarantee in writing you are not going to need
a new roof for at least five years due to
granular loss or shingle curling. We are going to stop

(10:04):
the aging of those shingles in their tracks. So if
you're thinking you need a new roof, we get up,
we inspect it and go ah, I mean, it really
looks great even though it is fourteen years old. We
can go nano it. And now we're going to guarantee
you you ain't and you're not gonna I almost said eight,
getting a little.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Passionate, I're going to send you to school.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
I've gotta go back. We guarantee you're not going to
need a new roof till at least it's nineteen years old.
I mean, that's peace of mind for people. So anyway,
have us come out, don't wait till the last minute.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
It's an amazing time to do that. And as we
talk with Andrew Lars from Large Stome Services, whether I'm
looking at gonano and of course getting extra extending the
life of your roof, we talk to about gutter shutter.
This time a year of course the leaves are still
firmly on the trees. As they come off the trees,
the phones really start popping. And of course they're always
going on that Larstome Services. They're there for you a

(11:02):
year round. But it is a great time right now
to beat that fall rush to get in for the
gutter shutters, get those installed. Of course, have your roof
inspected as well from the folks of Larstom Services. It's
really easy to do. All you gotta do is pick
up phone, do like I did six oh eight five
three five of forty three forty three. That's five three
five four three four three for Larstorm Services. The website
larsenome Services dot com. That's l A R S O

(11:23):
N Home Services dot com. Andrew, it's always great chatting
with you. Join this great day and we'll do it
all again in a week.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
I like it. Talk to you next week.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Take care, Andrew, and again that website Larsenhome Services dot com.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
