more about larsenorm Services. They're telephone number six oh eight
five three five forty three forty three. That's six oh

(00:21):
eight five three five forty three forty three. And I
know later today and I look at the forecast as well.
Hot hot, hot heat, heat, heat, Oh my goodness, it's
going to be a warm, warm stretch here. And joining
us from Larstorm Services is Andrew Larson. And Andrew, I
think insallation. I often think winter months and conserving heat.

(00:42):
Insulation serves a lot of different functions in your home,
doesn't it.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
It does. And I know we've talked about insulation for
the summer before, and I'm not trying to like beat
a dead horse, but we talk about it on our podcast,
so it's all over social media, and yet we still
don't get a lot of calls for insulation in the summer.
So I figured, you know, what if the rest of
our audience on social isn't educated this wonderful audience that

(01:09):
listens to this show will be educated. Okay, if nobody
else knows, it can be our little secret. Insulation is
so important in the summer. In fact, one might one
might say it is more important in the summer, and
I'll run through the science real quick. In the winter

(01:30):
we heat our homes. You've heard me talk about stack
effect a thousand times. Bottom line and stack effect is
hot air rises. We know that hot air balloons go
up where they come down. Nobody really knows. That's why
I've never been on one kind of scary there's a field,
hopefully there's not a power line that's coming down. You know,

(01:51):
hot air rises. So as that hot air rises, it
looks for ways to escape from your house. You've got
thermal barriers with your with your drywall that slow it,
but there's cracks. So everywhere there's a seam in your
sheet rock that goes into your attic, that would be
something that would need to be air sealed. Every power

(02:13):
outlet where that where that wire runs up your wall
and through the top plate into your attic, that would
need to be air sealed. That's like a little attic chase.
And now it doesn't seem like a lot, but when
you add up to one hundred of them, that's a lot.
So air ceiling really, really really helps in the winter,

(02:37):
that stops that stops that stack effect, or it slows
it down significantly. But the insulation. So let's okay, So
let's say that we've got that thermal barrier of our drywall. Okay,
once that heat escapes through there and hits the insulation,

(02:58):
the insulation is where it's in the attic already. So
now that heat is already in the attic, it's gone.
It's gone. See yea bye bye. Now your attic is vented.
The cold air comes in and it sends it out
into space. That's why we see melting snow on your roofs,
and we see ice dams, and we see frost lines

(03:19):
and we see all that stuff. Once the heat is
to the insulation, it's gone. So my point is air
ceiling is much more important than the winter than insulation is.
Now in the summer, it's the opposite our attic. I
can't even tell you how hot your attic might be

(03:39):
when it's one hundred and five heated. I just heard
right before I got one hundred and five heated that.
I mean people from Wisconsin are gonna melt like butter. Yes,
could possibly right. I was in Puerto Rico a few
weeks ago for a roofing conference, while it's probably a
month ago now, and it's literally one hundred degrees in

(03:59):
humid air every single day there. They're used to it.
They're like, oh, it's a nice day. They're like wearing
long sleeves and stuff. I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm
got Well, that's going to feel like Puerto Rico here today,
and that attic is most likely going to be one
hundred and forty to one hundred and eighty degrees okay,
depending on the ventilation and depending on the breeze that's hot. Now,

(04:21):
imagine you've got an R twenty to an R thirty
of insulation, which is very under insulated, and your attic
turns in. Your attic is basically turning into a radiant oven.
And what we're trying to do with that insulation is
we are trying to separate that radiant oven, your attic,

(04:41):
from your conditioned space in your home. And the only
way we do that is with insulation. Now, our insulation,
our Truesoft cellulose insulation that we use. We're going to
be putting sixteen to seventeen inches up there. We want
to get you to an R sixty. What's recommended for
our area is an R forty nine to sixty you
can get by code I think is an R forty nine.

(05:03):
We always go above and beyond because honestly, it's not
that much more work. So now we've got seventeen inches
of this. What I think is this beautiful fluffy insulation
up there that is separating that heat from your ceiling,
and a lot of people are sleeping right below that ceiling.

(05:24):
I mean, we've been into bedrooms midday on a ninety
degree day where houses were severely under insulated in their
attic and I've seen one hundred degree ceilings in a
room that we're trying to cool to seventy two degrees
to sleep. It's not gonna happen. It's never gonna happen.
You are fighting a losing battle. So when I come

(05:45):
on here and talk about insulation right now, which literally
nobody's thinking about, they're just not. It's insulation's in the winter,
it's a warm, cozy blanket, but air ceiling is more
important in the winter than insulation. Insulation is extremely extremely
important in the summer. So I just want everyone to

(06:06):
understand that that if your AC can't cool your home down,
there's a good possibility that it is not the AC's fault.
It might be you are under insulated. So when we
talk about the Ultimate Addict Solution by Larson and LARSENKINI
Home Services, that's over fifteen years of us doing what
we do have come up with the best way to

(06:28):
insulate your attic, air seal your attic, take care of
the critical details so that you know there's not a better,
more efficient way to have your addic done. It is
the best way your home is going to perform. It
is going to bring comfort back to your home. If
you've got a cape Cod and I'm not even going
to explain what it is if you have one, you

(06:50):
know in the summer and in the summer especially the
upstairs in the cape Cod can become completely unlivable. People
will move their bedrooms down to the the living room floor.
Kids will be sleeping on their parents' floor like that's
what happens until we come in and we insulate it,
we air seal it, we spray home it properly. We

(07:13):
give work, we give spaceback, we give conditioned spaceback, we
give comfortability back. And a side effect of that is
you save on your energy bills. So if I sound
somewhat passionate about that, it is because nobody thinks about
it in the summer, and it is the most important
time to think about your insulation. That's why for the

(07:34):
people listening on this show who are going to be
the educated ones, I am going to extend free installation
labor on insulation products from now until the end of
the month if you call and get an estimate, And
for anybody listening who has had an estimate from us,
I am extending that same discount because be completely honest

(07:54):
with you, or insulation department is just itching for more
work to do and it's very important time to get
it done. So if you get it done now, we're
going to help help you for the rest of the
summer and you're going to be ready to go for
the winner.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Not going to beat that free installation labor again through
the end of the month. But you've got a call now.
Call Larstorm Services six oh eight five three five forty

when you get up in the morning and you go

(08:28):
on the floor. It's like, oh my goodness, you're tripping
over them. Get them back in their room where they belong. Cake,
take the burden off of your ACU and it's keep
your house comfortable. It's a win win all around. And
Andrew just sweetened that deal with that free installation labor.
