Speaker 1 (00:00):
Eight oh five thirteen ten, double U, I, B A
and ask the experts. Joined this morning by Andrew Larson.
Andrew comes to us from Larsen Home Services. The website
larsenome Services dot com. That's L A R S O
N Home Services dot Com. Telephone number six oh eight
five three five forty three forty three. That's five three

(00:21):
five four three four three. Andrew, how you doing this week?

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Am I ever doing bad? No?

Speaker 1 (00:27):
I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
No, No, No, it was good. You're good.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
You're doing good or better it seems you know what
I'm saying. Or you're either doing good or you're on
vacation and doing better. I think that's that's the best.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Look Saturday. Oh nice Saturday.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
I have to compare notes and see what you're going
to be up to. Uh, we've got we've got an
important uh conversation ahead in something really cool that you
guys are able to do at Larson Home Services for
folks that that may have some issues. Uh, Andrew, you
have actually put together rapid response with larg storme Services.
Let's talk a little bit about what that is and

(01:07):
what it's really for. What's it used for?

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Well, you know, I'll give you a little backstory on it,
and I think it goes really in line with our
restore program. And now what I talked about last week,
our go Nano is us always we're always trying to
do what's best for our customer, offer the services that
customers need and for so long. Obviously we've been doing

(01:31):
this for a long time. And you know, when we
started doing this, we were ninety percent a gutter company. Yep, right,
that's what we did. We did gutters and through customers asking,
I mean it was asking all the time, and I
was referring out other roofers. But I did roofing in
the Twin Cities. I just never planned on doing it
down here. We started doing roofing and we teamed up

(01:52):
with GAF and in my mind, I feel we joined
forces with probably the best roofing crew in the state
of Wisconsin. They're amazing people. They've become like family to me.
So we start roofing and then I realized one day,
you know, we're the number two The number two offender

(02:12):
for landfills in the country is asphalt shingles. So the
more I think about it, I feel like we've got
this like throwaway culture. You know, a roof is good
for twelve to fifteen years. That's what everybody hears. And
you tear it off and you throw it away, which
I think is absolutely ridiculous. I've traveled to some other countries,

(02:33):
and what do I do when I go anywhere. I
look at roofs and I look at gutters. You know,
That's what I do, you know. And a few years
ago I was over in London. I went over there
to watch the Packers play and it was phenomenal. And
of course I'm looking at structures and architecture and roofing,
and what I noticed was there is not an asphalt
roof anywhere to be seen. It doesn't exist. They don't

(02:55):
put those roofs on. They use products at last literally forever,
but they need maintenance. I saw clay tiles, I saw
slate steel, things that last a lot longer. And so
I'm always, okay, what can we do. That's why we
offer a lot of class for impact rated shingles because
one of the things that quote unquote impacts the aging

(03:18):
of shingles is hail and weather. So why not use
a better shingle, something that's made to last for the
weather that we have and now insurance companies are catching
up and going, you know what, we need to start
using shingles like this because we're sick of replacing everybody's
roofs every few years from hail so which led us
to our restore program where we're going to these roofs

(03:39):
that have weeks on them, and all ninety nine percent
of every roofer in the country would just tear that
roof off, throw it away, put a new one on.
We don't need to do that. It's not what's best
for the environment, it's not what's best for the homeowner.
We can restore your room with a few quick fixes,
maybe some flashing, some pipe boots, a chimney, a chimney reflash,
a chimney cricket. You know, it's spending a few thousand

(04:01):
dollars instead of fifteen twenty thirty thousand dollars. We can
extend the life of that roof. Now with go Nano.
We go to that same roof and there's a little
bit of wear on it, it's fading, doesn't look the best,
it's starting to show its age. We can actually restore
that roof and revive that roof with Gonano. Now, keeping
that roof out of a landfill, and now a homeowner

(04:23):
is spending maybe three four five thousand dollars to restore
and revive it, but getting years more of life to it.
Then we come to homeowners calling during a rain. I
have a leak. I don't know what to do. Unfortunately,
we're usually pretty busy with estimates, so you might have
to wait a few days. Well, that doesn't do anybody
any good if they got water coming into their house.

(04:45):
I've had that happen before. It is a helpless feeling
because while you might catch the water coming through the
ceiling or through the vent or wherever it's coming through,
what is it doing on the parts of your house
that you can't see. In attic insulation creates, all kinds
of stuff can happen. So we've created the rapid Response
Team where we do our best to always have somebody

(05:10):
Monday through Friday, Saturday, sometimes Sunday on call, so if
you have a week, we can get out there. Now,
this isn't a permanent, fixed type of situation. This is
what I would like to call an educated band aid,
if that makes sense. I've literally just made that band aid,
by which it is not permanent it is not going

(05:32):
to fix their problem forever. It is educated because we
know we find the leak, we identify the leak, and
we use different things tarps, steel flashing, maybe a new
pipe things to quickly fix that leaks. We can stop it,
and then we set an appointment to actually have one
of our estimators come out and really diagnose what's wrong.

(05:53):
Is it a restore issue? Is it time for a
new roof issue? So basically we band aid that so
people can have peace of mind, sleep while at night,
and then we come out and then you know, we
give a price on what it's going to cost to
actually really fix that that moving forward, we have people
call and say, hey, you know, the last time it rained,
we got a leak. We thought we fixed it, not

(06:14):
sure if we did, but we know it's going to
rain again today. So really what made me think of
this is we've got some weather coming. Yes we do,
and so we can get out there and actually try
to do some water testing and find where that leak
is before more rain comes, and again band aid that
or education education band data. We find that leak, we

(06:34):
fix it temporarily until we can more permanently fix that.
So for us. It's always an evolution of trying to
do what's best for the homeowners and what's best, I mean, honestly,
what's best for the environment. I look at all of
the shingles, they get torn off of roofs and they
just get thrown into a landfill, and that's just the
way it is, and I don't think that it needs
to be that way. We talk about F wave shingles. Yes,

(06:58):
I put them on my house, Sean, I really don't
know what can go wrong with you. And I'm being
completely honest, And people are like, what's the warranty, Well,
you know the warrant, the actual written warranty is not
as long as a GAF show. Well GAF is a
much bigger company, been around a lot longer. But I
watch these shingles, look I look at my roof almost
every day, and I don't know what can go wrong

(07:20):
with them. They're made to last, and they're made to
last longer. They just are. Yes, they're more expensive, but
it's not a throwaway product. Andrew.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
One of the things too, is I know last week
you unveiled the Gonano and of course partnering with Larsenome Services,
and what's out there. I had a chance to kind
of read up a bit more on gonano and what
a really amazing product it is. And I think of
like for folks with you've got that, you got that
roof and you want to get a few years out
of it. You know, there's there's other products out there,

(07:50):
and I'm kind of looking at how they work, and
they kind of just put a coating over the top
and you know, it's basically like just kind of fit
crossing your fingers and hoping that that covers it. This
go nano stuff, it like gets into the shingles and actually,
as you talk about, does that restoring of the shingle?
And I thought, what a cool concept. Then obviously there's
a ton of science and really smart people that came

(08:10):
up with this with this product, but it's otter than you.
And yeah, I was like on the website and they
kind of dumb it down. I'm like, that's brilliant. And
then the thing is like it's brilliant, but how did
they come up with it? And so it's it is.
It is a really really cool product. And I've got
to guess, Andrew, a lot of folks are are are
calling large home service whether it's uh, you know, whether

(08:31):
it's the rapid response team or looking to get that
roof restored with the go nano and getting that getting
those years out of their roof. It's got to be
a really popular option for folks right now, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
So Obviously we just started talking about it and we're
already getting calls and I look, we don't have a
ton of stuff on our website yet about it because
it is so new to us anyway, but if you
go on go nao dot com, like some of the
videos are so awesome, I mean there's a there's so
First of all, there's a problem for brand new roofs,
like you can put a brand new roof on and

(09:02):
we can put this on it, in it, in it.
Like again I said last time, I didn't make this
stuff up, but it changes the molecular makeup of the
asphalt shingle from a nanoparticle level. Cannot be seen with
the naked eye, but I can tell you this, if
you watch the videos of the before and after, it's
almost like rainx for your roof. Yeah, that makes sense

(09:25):
if if anybody's ever put rainx on their windshield and
it starts raining and you're driving the water just like
beads and flies off your your windshield. This is what
it does for your roof. It is almost water proofs
your roof while making it more elastic, which helps it
with hail. There's a video on there that shows them
up close shooting a non treated shingle with a hail

(09:49):
at two hundred miles an hour and then shooting a
go Nano treated shingle with hail at two hundred miles
an hour. Obviously the regular shingle, it broke the mass
and they looked at it under a microscope. You could
obviously see the hail hit and all you see is
fiberglass and a crack like it broke the shingle. It

(10:10):
dented the Go Nano shingle, but it didn't break anything.
There was no granular loss, so that would be that
would heal itself with heat. So you just got kit
with hail and it didn't affect it, so it makes
it more elastic. Then we've got our revive product that
is meant for those roofs that are like in that
six to maybe fifteen year range, depending on how well

(10:30):
your roof is war We can then revive it bringing
color back to it with the butt, with the oils
that are in it moisturize it, and then with the
nanotechnology it water proofs it. And you don't you see
in the video dumps water on it. It just beads
off the flight. It has no opportunity to get into
your roof. So it's it's super exciting. I cannot wait

(10:53):
to start installing it on people's houses. We're going to
probably be doing it on my father's place in the
coming weeks and doing a cool video and do some
before and after. But yeah, it's exciting again, just trying
to do what's best for everybody.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
One thing I know about Greg is he he doesn't
mess around with stuff and if he's gonna put it
on his is.
