Speaker 1 (00:09):
From various locations via the miracle of Skype. It's the
fortieth anniversary season of the LTNR. Let's Talk Nascar with
your host Todd Bayling, co hosts Brian Schmidt, PJ Newdleman,
and producers Dangerous Dan Margetta. Call the show anytime at

(00:30):
four one four, four two one seventy nine oh one,
and now the creator and host of the fastest hour
in radio, Todd.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
The Bailing.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Well.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
I don't want to say it's a you know, slow
time of year, but right now, the biggest thing we're
worried about is if the drones are going to attack
New Jersey.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
That's beautiful, isn't it. Oh there, everybody, Thanks so much
for tuning in.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Todd Bailing in Phoenix, Arizona, joined by my three faithful,
loyal and longtime partners, beginning with Brian Schmidt over in Utsburg, Wisconsin.

Speaker 5 (01:10):
High morning, only ten days away from Christmas. That's hard
to believe. Where is the time gone.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
It's crazy, isn't it. PJ Newdleman over on the other
coast of Wisconsin.

Speaker 6 (01:21):
And happy to be here as the season lines down
and hopefully more rumors ramping up.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
Huh yeah, no, kidding. Dan Margetta, who's in Saint Francis, Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (01:33):
Good morning.

Speaker 8 (01:33):
We spent some time at the pr I show in
Indianapolis looking around with the Dan Casey kind of can't
have some interest for the singer Nationals lap Money, which
is pretty accessful, and talking to some people about the
stuff going on and representing.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Right.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
I used to do that show regularly when he was
selling stuff. But it's really the who's who of racing,
not just stock cars. It's every sort of racing that
there is, right.

Speaker 8 (01:58):
Pretty much every soda automotive thing that there is, you know,
you know, every kind of drag racing to short drag racing,
to asphalt racing to dirt racing and even like street
rods and that kind of stuff.

Speaker 7 (02:08):
I mean, it's a huge show. I mean, it takes
more than a day.

Speaker 8 (02:11):
If you think you're gonna go down there and get
it all done in the day, you're you're mistaken because
it's that big.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
And there's it's a who's who really walking around too,
right or are they all in booths?

Speaker 8 (02:21):
No, most people are walking around. I mean you have
people that work in different boots from the different companies.
But as far as you know drivers that way or something.
They're all I saw just an all guy or there.
Knnie Schrader was there, a bunch of people, you know,
just any They're all kind of in colg you know,
because you know, they're all walking around like regular people.

Speaker 7 (02:35):
That's kind of cool, just.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Like regular people. I love that.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
That's pretty great. We didn't learn anything new and exciting,
did we?

Speaker 7 (02:46):
Nothing huge?

Speaker 8 (02:47):
I mean, there's been some news coming out of there,
but nothing like it was earth shattering at something. In
the past, like a lot of people would wait for
that show to announce things, and now they kind of
just announce them as they come. There's plenty of media
running around there too, and a lot of people doing
and uh like podcasts and and and some video stuff
for online things. Who'sier had a big booth there, a
bunch of drivers, our own Jim Trader was in her

(03:08):
interviewing people all day long. He worked quite a bit
with different people getting pushed through there on their stage,
you know, on a crowd gathers to watch. If it's
somebody like Tony Stewart, a lot of people are there,
you know, paying attention.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
I would think so.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
And it's always it must be a real pleasure to
go with Dan Casey, who, by the way, is the
guy behind the lap sponsorship money at the Slinger Nationals
every year. It's I don't know who he is, Yeah,
he's he's He's a hustler and one of the good guys,
that's for sure. So I would imagine that was a
kind of a fun time. Did you spend a night.

Speaker 8 (03:44):
Yeah, we went down left Thursday morning, went down there
thursdays half the show there, stayed over Thursday night, went
back to the show Friday throughout the morning and early afternoon,
and came back Friday night.

Speaker 7 (03:55):
Yeah, it was fun. We met.

Speaker 6 (03:57):
Were you hung over yet when you came home?

Speaker 7 (03:59):
No, we didn't hit as hard as some of the
people do.

Speaker 8 (04:02):
They We went a little bit on Thursday night, more
towards Speedway by the racetrack.

Speaker 7 (04:06):
I stayed over by the airport. I didn't stay right
downtown because the prices.

Speaker 8 (04:09):
That stayed ontown are pretty high, so we went down
Speedway's got a nice little deal right by the racetrack.
They kind of did that a couple of years ago,
where they built that whole downtown up. There's some bars,
restaurants and places there, And we went back and at
the hotel and checked out the hotel bar for a
while and made some friends from the Frens of Eagle
River or the guy there from that raced.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Off road trucks, and they're all down for PR.

Speaker 7 (04:33):
They're all there for PR.

Speaker 8 (04:34):
It's kind a big deal down there, and everybody comes
into town and you can see it when you get
downtown because it's kind of crowded and everybody's got race gearon,
so you know where they're going, yep.

Speaker 6 (04:43):
And it's it's not just like our idea of stock
car racing. It's every form of RAF scene that goes
and has booths there.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
That's really that's really a cool thing.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
And I think if I remember, Ed sold wheels there
over the years and on other parts of people that
he represented too.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
He was a part of HRP right up until like
the last year or so there right Dan, he was
always down there with Jeff Wessell and those people.

Speaker 8 (05:08):
Yeah, they were there. They had their booth in the
same spot right where it normally is. Talk to them
and right across from the world Outlaws were across the way,
and you know, spend some time there and there's all
a different series the stars Tour had a booth there.
Five Star had a big booth there with some new
a new i MC a stock car body, which is
pretty wild.

Speaker 7 (05:27):
I didn't think it was a dirt card realized.

Speaker 8 (05:29):
So they tell me about it and that that's gonna
be a big deal, and that Crown Vic series are
just huge. Apparently everywhere they make a nose for it.
Five Star actually has a Crown Rick Noles.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
Now, there's so many ratty police cars driving around, you
might as well fix the front ends on them.

Speaker 8 (05:44):
Tory Schultz, they made like six millions. They're everywhere. The
people are running those. And the guy had Salem there Indiana.
They get over one hundred a week.

Speaker 6 (05:51):
Well, that's that's what Cletus McFarland started doing down at
his track at yeah Freedom Factory. Yeah, so that was huge.
We've had him at Cross too, during the Refiner Race.

Speaker 5 (06:02):
He had a big event at Bristol every year with
those Crown Vics. Yes, during a holiday weekend. I forget
which one it is, but it's it's a big deal.
He brings in like all these different podcasters and people
that people know and throw them in these Crown.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Vics and he race at Bristol. Oh, that's funny. Crown
Victoria Racing. By the way, you mentioned ASA had a
booth there. Do we learn anything new from ASA this week?

Speaker 7 (06:27):
I mean their schedules were out.

Speaker 8 (06:28):
They released their the cra part of them, had their
The Jakes Tour schedule and the Southern Super Series. They're
just gonna end at New Simerna this year for that
Governor's Cup race.

Speaker 7 (06:38):
I think it's November ninth. It's just weird. Gonna have
a lot of races in Florida in a short stretch.

Speaker 8 (06:42):
You'll have a New Simerna, then a couple like two
weeks later they'll be at the Freedom Factory and then
the Snowball. So that looks like that's all happening next year.
For that, they had their Stars Tour schedule. Obviously, we
have Madison on a Friday night in June, and then
Father's They had Slinger, that's the big one. A lot
of people in all standing by that booth, A lot
of people that came up and talked to them were
very excited about coming back to Slinger, going to Slinger
for the first time for them, and.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
No kidding, there has been one as a race at
Slinger Speedway and it was many years back. It was
in the early eighties before my time. Actually Martin won
it in Jerry Gunderman's car, and I think it was
in Gunderment's car.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Geez, maybe it was in ribals.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Car at that time. I can't even you know, since
I wasn't there. I'm just guessing on that. But I
think it was a three hundred lapper and I think
he won.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
By more than a lap.

Speaker 8 (07:34):
So that was a lot of the talk that were
kind of figure out how many laps that race is
going to be. I don't know I ever got an
official number of what it would be, just because he
didn't want something to being that long because then, you know,
you do with a short track that small, that's what
you end up with you and have a lot of
cars multile laps. I think you need to keep it
like you know, at one fifty. I don't think it

(07:55):
can be two hundred because you don't want to overshadow
the Nationals.

Speaker 7 (07:58):
That's the big race to think up there.

Speaker 8 (08:00):
I don't think it'll be as much as two hundred,
but I'm looking at like one twenty five fifty.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
The stars.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
Does the stage racing similar to NASCAR, so that should
help from having you know, a really duel Yeah, green
flag run, so yeah, three hundred. You know, you could
do like a three hundred lapper there and one hundred
hundred and hundred.

Speaker 8 (08:17):
But I don't think you want to have more nationals.
I think the Nationals are still the main I agreed.

Speaker 6 (08:24):
The ESA Stars also added they increase their perse so
for twenty twenty five, it's going to be over one
million dollars paid out.

Speaker 7 (08:32):
So twelve ver ay schedule for them.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Very good and a couple of them in the state
of Wisconsin. That's good news. But all away.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
If if you'd like to participate today and bring up
any subject you want to, we have that number that's
still very good for one four four two, one seventy
nine oh one is what you would call and weigh
in on anything talking about or anything anybody else is
talking about this. Uh, yesterday would have been Alan Colwiki's

(09:08):
seventieth birthday, and that's why it was shown that the
Kowiki banquet was shown last night, even though it was
it used to be live. I don't know they must
have they tape it earlier in the week or some
tape it.

Speaker 6 (09:22):
I think it was because of scheduling issues. I mean,
they've got the knew pr I was this weekend as well.
So there's just a lot of things going on.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
Okay, so it was it was put and who's carrying it?
Who can you? Where can you watch it?

Speaker 6 (09:37):
Is it we see in America?

Speaker 3 (09:39):
America? Just keep that in mind.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
That's the same site that Slinger Weekly shows were on and.

Speaker 6 (09:46):
This year's Colwiki Cup winner ty Frederckson has committed to
run the entire ASA Stars Tour.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Ah, he'll do well.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
That's certainly got some talent for a fi fifteen year old.
My god, think about it. Was I was running around
Poland girls hair when I was fifteen, and this kid's
a champion. Man.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
We'll be back.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Hey, Matthew, give me a hand with this tree.

Speaker 9 (10:14):

seventy South River Road in West Bend Callum two six,

Speaker 9 (10:56):
Yeah. Our tree from PMF Landscape looks great.

Speaker 10 (11:00):
Wow.

Speaker 11 (11:00):
All trees and reefs are fifty percent off until they
are gone.

Speaker 12 (11:04):
As a growing manufacturing company, we needed security solutions. We
chose Bonafi because of the services they offer pricing and
trusted replication. What if they're outstanding service and support That
convinced us.

Speaker 13 (11:15):
We made the right choice at Bonified.

Speaker 14 (11:17):
When businesses need security, if they contact Bonafied Security Solutions
from locks and the lawrence to safe and surveillance, we
do it all. We are Bonified. We protect what you

Speaker 15 (11:33):

the Fair Park and Plymouth. Congratulations to the champions Brad
Miller Will source Travis Schmidt and Ben Schmitt Plymouth dirt

their ongoing dedication. The loyal, dedicated track workers are the
best at what they do every week.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
A big thank you also to.

Speaker 15 (11:52):
The many businesses for their sponsorships, and of course the
fans who make it all possible. The green flag will
wait for another season next spring.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
I'll see you there. I'll go from the left circle
with a shine star.

Speaker 16 (12:04):
After a quick one game homestand the Addles are back
on the road Sunday when they travel to Rockford to
take on the ice of the cant't row one post
to the nets, same big ball step Now it's a
goal for the Addroles. Pregame coverage at three thirty, base
off at four on Fox Sports nine twenty in your
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Welcome back to WELTM. So lovely of you to join us.
The next racing UH is going to be the Chili Bowl.
I think they're at least major event.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Or do they, Brian?

Speaker 4 (12:33):
I think they go to Tulsa before the Chili Bowl
and race another midget event before the micro sprints.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
They have micro sprints and stuff like that for The
major event is right after the New Year is the
Wild West Shootout in Evado, New Mexico for the Late
Models and the modified. So that's going to be the
one to two, fourth, fifth, and then the week after that.
So other years the wildwat Shootout and the Chili Bowl
have overlapped.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
This year it will not. Is Vadal going to be
shown on anything?

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Yep, that's Flow, that's a Flow event. Okay, So New
Year's is on Wednesday, they'll be racing on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
No rest, Good god, it's amazing to me. Let's put
it this way. There's so many streaming services out there
right now. If and you'd say, well, I want to
watch I want to have a good streaming service that
has a lot of races that I'm interested in, and

(13:29):
I would like to spend it, let's say by a
one year subscription, which one would we all purchase. I
went ahead and did Flow for myself, and I think
I probably did good. I like that more and more
things are showing up on Flow since I paid for it.
Dirt Vision is a good one, but it's pretty expensive.

(13:52):
Right Well, those are the two big ones, dirt Vision
and Flow.

Speaker 5 (13:55):
So anything that has to do with the World of
out Laws, which is the World of All Law Late Models,
World of All Laws, Sprint Cars, UMP, Summer Nationals, anything
under that World Racing Group category, Big Block Modifieds.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
All that stuff is on dirt vision.

Speaker 5 (14:07):
And then you have Flow, which has just about anything
that has to do with the USAC Lucas oil, you know,
the high Limit sprint car thing, and then they have
a mixed match of other I think the Cars Tour
is now on Flow, so there's no asphalt stuff on
dirt visions. So if you're into asphalt, you're gonna get
some of that out of Flow. But I mean Flow

(14:27):
probably has the biggest I would say, you know footprint
right now of everything, and it's not just I mean,
you pay you one hundred and fifty dollars, you get all.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Their sports stuff too.

Speaker 5 (14:36):
So if you're in the basketball or hockey or wrestling
or bowling or gymnastics or anything like that, or you
have a you know, a grandson or a grandchild, you
get all that stuff on there. I mean there's people
that buy a subscription to that because their kid plays
for a smaller university and then they can watch all
their games all part of the same subscription.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
It's a huge, a huge network of stuff they have here.

Speaker 8 (14:58):
Like for races around here, you're pretty much going to
find them on Track TV, which have the Stars in
the Midwest Tour pit Rod TV has the Dells, and
those are the two around here. And of course Racing
America is with with slingers, so you're kind of fractured
up here where they're not on one.

Speaker 7 (15:13):
But that's kind of what it is right now. I mean,
we'll see how it all shakes out as it goes on.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
That's like, then you can spend a lot of money
doing this, and then that's why I tried to you know,
I AMCA dot TV. Now there's one I would watch
if it wasn't so damned expensive.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Is there a yearly rate for it? Their events are
like twenty seven to ninety nine apiece. It's ridiculous if
you want to start watching some of the bigger events.

Speaker 7 (15:41):
I mean, it's a lot for a single event.

Speaker 8 (15:44):
Most ones up here have monthly you know packages where
you can pay like twenty five dollars a month and
if you hit it right, you can probably get five
races or six.

Speaker 7 (15:52):
Races in there.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
You know.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
That's like on track TV correct.

Speaker 8 (15:55):
Right, correct, And pitt Roll is kind of the same way.
I mean they cover everything. They got races this week already.
Actually he does the Super Series and a lot of
most of all of the asphalt stuff right now in
the Midwest Tour, the Stars Tour, and some of the
bigger events that way.

Speaker 7 (16:10):
But if you hit it right, then you can just
look at schedules.

Speaker 8 (16:13):
You know, for your one monthly deal, you'll probably get
about five six races are even seven And.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
IMCATV is very so much a good friend of ours.

Speaker 5 (16:20):
Chris Stepan owns watch Fye, which does a lot of
the stuff to the northwest of us, with soda and
all that. And he was explaining to us once when
we were having dinner. The way he does that is,
you know, he charges per event because he has to
give money back to the track. So he's like, all right,
if I'm gonna and it's usually more than what it
is to buy a ticket. And he says, the reason
he does that is because you're gonna get all your
buddies over to watch anyway. So he says, instead of

(16:42):
getting you know, five of you go to the track
at you know, twenty bucks apiece he's gonna charge you
thirty dollars to watch the event, which is still less,
but four or five you're gonna watch it. That way,
He's given some more back to the track because his
his platform isn't as big as like flow Flow is
doing major events.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
We have major sponsorship.

Speaker 5 (16:58):
Money going to be full any way of people, you know,
and they give a lot of money back. I mean
last week, for instance, the Snowball derby, the amount of
viewers Flow had, I mean that's single handedly what got
the purse to where it was.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
Now.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
These smaller ones I MCA TV, watch FYE, all these
little smaller ones, they have to charge a little bit
more because you're not getting as many eyeballs on it,
and you might be taking some people away from the track.
So it kind of goes both ways. You have your
major streaming services and you have your ones that aren't
quite as big. We have to charge a little bit
more to cover for the loss of people who are
in the event.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
That makes sense live across the street from the track.
I mean, you're not going to be watching it on TV,
I would think. I mean, I don't know, it's weird
how things have changed. Hey, so you said Vado is
going to be the first event on January fourth and fifth.

Speaker 7 (17:41):
That's on Flow.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Ye, the Chili Bowl coming up. Did you mention what
that's going to be on.

Speaker 5 (17:47):
The Chili Bowl is also on Flow and that is
the I think that starts on Monday, the thirteenth of January.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Is when that gets thirteenth through the eighteenth, and then
in between there is that Tulsa thing for those micro
who would watch, well, I wouldn't watch that normally, but
that's Kyle Bush shows up three last week.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Yeah, and he's doing the Chili Bowl too. Yeah. For
the first time in a midget this year he hit several.

Speaker 8 (18:14):
It's coming back. Christopher Bell is going to be in
it as well. You know that's the one guy Kyle
Larson can't beat.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
There.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
Christopher Bell is already back in a car and that's
a tease for the dirt results later, but he's already
back in his dirt stuff. He wasted no time after
they gave him the freedom to go racing again, and
he did quite well.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
That's that's spectacular.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
So there's there's going to be things that we will
be able to watch and comment on during the rest
of the off season's seven weeks to the to the
it's forty nine days. Yeah, gee whiz, it's coming fast
to the clash. And it's not even Christmas yet, which
reminds me next week will be our final show of

(18:55):
the yearth I wasn't sure, and I said something I
think after the program last week about what our schedule
was going to be. But we are only going to
take one week off this year instead of our usual
two weeks. It's going to be the show in between
the holidays, and so next week will be our last
show of the year, and we'll be back after the

(19:15):
first Sunday in January, which I don't have a calendar
right in front of me. It's something like about the
fifth or thereabouts, I think, so, yes, the fifth, okay,
and that's where we will begin our forty first season,
and we'll invite everybody back for that here on Fox
Sports nine to twenty, exclusively in Milwaukee. We're going to

(19:37):
sneak away. We want to call us, you know, you
could always do that. We'll be back. Miller Sales and
Service of Random Lake is where to go for a trailer,

Speaker 17 (21:43):
Sunday, the Packers travel to Seattle for a primetime matchup
with the Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Shake up sparrels into the end zone for the touchdown.

Speaker 17 (21:52):
Russell is live with the Potawatami Sports Book pregame show
at three on Milwaukee's home for Packers Football ninety seven
to three.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
Gay I swear we should get some ambulance chasing lawyer
firm to sponsor us when we we give legal updates
on this program. And it's pretty bad that we have
to have that these days. But uh, you know, Dan
has been keeping his uh, his nose on this. On

(22:23):
the legal positioning that's been going on NASCAR this week.
Apparently from what I understand, said we're not going to
allow any transfer of charters unless you drop the lawsuit.

Speaker 8 (22:39):
And well they didn't come out officially say that, but
that's kind of what was inferred, and that that's kind
of Actually Bob Parcras does a good job updating this.
Matt we've put a deal out yesterday on his page
that kind of laid everything out from the beginning and
kind of simplified everything. But they had those motions going
back and forth for this n injunction and the last one,

(23:00):
you know, the team's file that said here's our real harm,
it was mostly was redacted.

Speaker 7 (23:04):
It was like emails from drivers that it was all
the way back. We don't know who was from.

Speaker 8 (23:08):
Most people thought it was maybe from Reddick that said
that they you know, they can leave if we don't
drive a chartered car, we can lose drivers and sponsors.
NASCAR replied and said, that's that's all speculation.

Speaker 7 (23:18):
They're not saying they're gonna leave. You haven't proved that.

Speaker 8 (23:20):
Yet, And basically, this is we had this negotiation and
it didn't go your way, and this is all this
is you. They kind of accused them of making an
email campaign to drudge all this up to say they
could do it and out there, okay there then they
I think this is really miscalculated, though they put in
the deal with the Stuart Host charters or they said, well,
and plus, you already have these charters from Stuart Hoss

(23:42):
that are under the terms that you're not agreeing to,
so how can we agree to the transfer to that?
And and I get what kind of where they're coming from,
but I think they should have left that off till later,
because the teams responded and said, hey, that's exactly what
we're talking about here. You you know, sort of you
agreed to let us have these charters that we purchased
from Stuart House, and now you're saying you can't because

(24:03):
it's under the terms that we apparently don't agree with.
And now we don't have these either, and Stuart Hoss
is saying, hey, we sold this twenty million plus dollars money, right,
you know, how can you do this? And that's I
think we're NASCAR kind of miscalculated because of that in there.
That kind of shows some you know, anti competitive behavior

(24:24):
kind of deal and because they immediately filed after that
to say, hey, okay, the Stuart House charters are a
totally separate dealer, not part of this lawsuit. That that
should be determined by an arbitrator, not the court, and
that's not part of this case.

Speaker 7 (24:36):
Well, the team'sn't like, oh yeah, it is part of
this case because it's.

Speaker 8 (24:38):
All part of the charters. And I think that's where
NASCAR kind of got themselves kind of in a bind.
They changed judges. The original judges is out now apparently
he's retiring or something. That got a new drudge in
that was appointed a lot newer than this older guy,
so who knows what he's gonna see things like, but
it it's kind of a mess now. I think with
that Stuart Haus thing thrown in there, if they allow

(25:01):
that to stay as part of this, I think that
helps the teams. If they say, know that is something
separate in the arbitrator decide that helps NASCAR. So we'll
see where it goes from there.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
Ohyll boy, to be a lawyer, you need to be
a lawyer nowadays in nascars just gotten out of control.
All right, Well, you know, if you have any thoughts
on that, we'd love to hear that or whatever. Can
you believe it? We have a caller from Jacksonville, Florida
who's been waiting patiently to talk to us. We were

(25:29):
on the air in Jacksonville, Florida, I think for one
or two shows back in the day. Hi, Charles, welcome
to the program.

Speaker 18 (25:36):
Hey guys, Yes, I call it. I'll listen every Sunday.
I'll call you guys, maybe like once the year. So, yeah,
you're own in nineteen ninety.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
Nine for a that's when we were on down there.

Speaker 18 (25:46):
Yep, that's where I found you.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Well boy too, right, I had a fan of the coup.

Speaker 18 (25:52):
That was multiple weeks and then it just kind of
went away with the explanation.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
We didn't even know if we're going to put us
on there in the first place.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
Now we're talking about Florida, right, We were on in Jacksonville,
North Carolina for a while.

Speaker 18 (26:07):
But mom strings California, remember that that's beautiful.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
Well, thanks for listening.

Speaker 13 (26:14):
I was good.

Speaker 18 (26:14):
I wanted to ask this be a question for Dan.
He's talking about the PRS. Sure made to think about this, uh,
asked fall super light model is my favorite form of racing.
When are they going to get away from these what
I call these old tired fusion bodies And you know
it hasn't been made since twenty fourteen. You know, the
right model stock trunk Camaros Mustangs, but the super weight
models of Parlay Mallice run these old bodies that aren't

(26:37):
made anymore.

Speaker 8 (26:39):
Remember a couple years ago that was a big deal
with it in five star account with that new body,
and then they weren't sure if they're going to prove
the places, and they wanted to update the bodies, and
a lot of the teams had so much information on
the old style bodies and how to run faster than
they did a lot of things at that that they
didn't want to let it go. And right now that's
kind of been a mix. He sees some newer bodies
out there, but a lot of people still do on

(27:00):
the old ones. I don't Maybe PJ can can can
you put any thing is? Because uh, you know, you're
Toby probably know for sure. But sometimes when they can
figure things out with the old body, they really don't
want to change from that, right.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
PJ must have disappeared on us. I don't know. I'm here,
Dannis spot up.

Speaker 18 (27:18):
It is a fusion, I mean, I must say it
Freedom Factory didn't. We had a fusion at the Snowball Derby.
So reverted back to the old body.

Speaker 6 (27:27):
And that's because they try to make the most of
what they have and Toby will put the best, the
best Ammo forward for whichever the race is.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
He asked.

Speaker 6 (27:36):
You're in a box with whichever series is running something,
and guys don't like change, believe it or not.

Speaker 7 (27:43):
So yeah, that's it.

Speaker 6 (27:45):
You have to kind of play within the box of
each division or each series and work with whatever there
wherever your advantage is. There's sometimes there are weight breaks
and things like that too that they're going to want
to have.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
Charles, are you watching some racing locally down there that
are running old style bodies? Yet those old Camaro bodies
and stuff.

Speaker 18 (28:08):
Well, now let's say you know the supers run and
the pro seem to run those what they call that
the Chevy at that but the late model stock. Now
they pretty much all migrated to the new you know
Camaros Mustangs and and Camri body you know Camri noses
and m but steel like my user track of Gayto's

(28:30):
new Somrna and they're all you know, the supers and
pretty late miles there pretty much still running that old
body from what I call maybe to twenty tens that's
seriously kept making those I guess five stars' producing them.
I just they're going to stay with them for a
while before they stopped.

Speaker 8 (28:47):
Yeah, they're they're there, I think, And but a lot
of times those teams have run that style for so
long and they know there's things you can do to
a body that makes your cargoes faster, and a lot
of times, yeah, you'll really sit on the dirt side
where they get twisted around and stuff, and they'll do
things on the body there where maybe you can't do
that with the new style. So it's a new way
of figuring all that out, all the arrow part of it,

(29:07):
and a lot of it is just I think they've
run that so long and it's so hard to change
for them unless they're forced to do it, and I'm
not sure you want to force everybody it will buy
a new body. So that's kind of what you're stuck.
Where they're letting they let them all compete together.

Speaker 7 (29:19):
Now, that's exactly it.

Speaker 6 (29:20):
And actually, if you see some pictures sometimes of super Lates,
if you get a photographer that gets ahead on shot
as it's coming down the straightaway, you can see that
it skews off to the.

Speaker 18 (29:31):
To the right.

Speaker 6 (29:32):
There the back end kind of skews to the right.
A lot of guys are mounting their bodies that way
to try to grab that air on the spoiler as
it's coming down the street.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 18 (29:43):
And what last before I go, I noticed that the
car stour is going to be a Cordeal, Georgia next year,
so I know Ernhard Junior wanted to go there, so
I guess he might be racing there when they go
there in April.

Speaker 7 (29:53):
That's exactly it.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
D Charles, thanks for listening, Don and Jacksonville, Florida. We
do appreciate shape then from being a regulars. That's pretty awesome.
We're going to sneak away.

Speaker 12 (30:05):

Speaker 9 (30:38):
Yeah, let's get a real tree this year.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
Hey, leave that fake tree in the box under the
basement steps this year. Get a real tree from PMF
Landscape on River Road and West End. Any kind of
real tree imaginable up to eighteen feet plus potted trees
you can decorate now and plant in the spring. A
huge assortment of Christmas decorations, including wreaths and three sign
cemetery reaths, fest of global hanging ornaments, bows, garland, roping

(31:05):
and more, stopped in seven days a week during the
holiday season. Have refreshments and check everything out. How about
a PMF gift certificate the perfect gift PMF Landscape Supply
fifty four to seventy South River Road in West Bend,
Column two six, two, three, three eight eighty eight hundred.

Speaker 9 (31:21):
Yeah, our tree from pmmth Landscape looks straight.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
And now all trees and wreaths are fifty percent off until.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
They are gone.

Speaker 15 (31:28):
The checkered flag has waived over the racing season at
the fair Park and Plymouth. Congratulations to the champions Brad Miller,
will Source, Travis Schmidt and Ben Schmitt climaerch Trek Racing.
Thanks all the drivers and pit crews for their ongoing dedication.
The loyal, dedicated track workers are the best at what
they do every week.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
A big thank you also to the many.

Speaker 15 (31:47):
Businesses for their sponsorships and of course the fans who
make it all possible. The green flag will wait for
another season next spring. We'll see you there.

Speaker 17 (31:58):
It's another prime time matchup when the Packers meet the
Seahawks Sunday in Seattle. Doug Russell is live from the
Pottawaabe Sportsbook at three kickoff in seven twenty on your
Home for the Green Bay Packers ninety seven to three.

Speaker 18 (32:12):
The gay.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
Welcome back uh.

Speaker 4 (32:20):
Tia Jeski, as we all know, uh skipped a press
conference in Charlotte. He lives in Nina and was supposed
to be in Charlotte for a press conference and skipped
it so he could vote.

Speaker 8 (32:35):
It was actually media day before the championship race. It
was like NASCAR Media Day, which they schedule on election
Day for some reason.

Speaker 5 (32:42):
It's when Fox gets all their like video hits and stuff, okay,
because you know they can't do it at the track
when the rest of us did it on media day,
so they had to have their own.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
When NASCAR says you got to be at a media day,
you better be there or you get fined. And I
don't care if we're going, we're going to make a
vote for the next president of the United States or not.
They are more important than you voting. And if you
don't believe that, Timajeski by staying home and voting was

(33:11):
fine twelve five hundred dollars. He took it in front
of the arbitrators and NASCAR's fine was upheld this week,
Ty looks to me like one of the good guys,
and it's making NASCAR look stupid yet again. Although if
anybody had asked me and advanced what I thought would happen.

(33:32):
You know this business about it's easier to ask forgiveness
than it is permission. NASCAR was not going to go
along with anything other than the way they wanted it
to be. Right here, and twelve thousand bucks later, I
guess ty understands.

Speaker 8 (33:48):
That now, right, and Brian right, the people that say,
well he should have early voted, he didn't really know
he wasn't be in the championship for after early voting ended, right, right.

Speaker 5 (33:57):
Yeah, And that's the thing behind it, and you know
other people going to say, well, it's your constitutional right. Well,
NASCAR came back and said that Tye never told them
that that was the reason why he was staying there.
If they would have said, if you would have said that,
they would have made sure he would have got to
Charlotte and then gotten back home.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
Before the polls close here at eight o'clock kind of deal.

Speaker 6 (34:17):
And part of the confusion there was ty thought that
ThorSport was communicating that to NASCAR, and ThorSport thought that
Tye was communicating that to NASCAR.

Speaker 5 (34:26):
So well, that's the only reason why I think the
penalty was upheld was because of that little caveat in there,
because otherwise NASCAR could have been in a big pickle
if they try to find someone for that.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
So that's there, that's NASCAR's out. This is the model
Tye's pocket. That's my question.

Speaker 6 (34:42):
No, I don't think so. Duke Thorson will pay that happily. Actually,
he tweeted. He tweeted the scene from Animal House where
they're in court at the end of the movie. He
tweeted that scene with very little of anything else, and
that was just kind of his thought on the whole thing.
If you recall that movie, they made the big fanfare
in the court and the Dean is sitting there screaming

(35:04):
at them. It's pretty funny.

Speaker 7 (35:06):
Hey, it may be a new patch on the uniform,
right Yeah.

Speaker 6 (35:10):
Actually, Alison Thorson and Tyre laughing about maybe putting the
I voted patch perennially on his drave suit.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
Leave it on there.

Speaker 4 (35:19):
That's beautiful, the Kowiki program patch and I voted patch
right there so the world can see it.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
That's beautiful.

Speaker 4 (35:27):
Hey, this week they came up with some valid They
announced they didn't do it this week, but they announced
there's gonna be new practice and qualifying rules this year, Brian,
and I'm thinking it's got to be a pretty big
deal if they have to have a press conference just
to release the information.

Speaker 5 (35:45):
Well, the confusing group A Group B qualifying thing is gone,
so we don't have to worry about figuring out.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Why this cars and group as cars and group B.
So that's gone.

Speaker 5 (35:54):
They've gotten away with that. Practice increased a little bit.
They're going to twenty five minute practice sessions. They're still
dividing them up into groups for practice. Why I don't know,
because the fifty minute thing would be great, but they
don't want to do that.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
So they're gonna have two different groups.

Speaker 5 (36:08):
Seventy percent based on your previous race finish by the
owner and thirty percent based on your owner points. Position
will put you in the two groups, and that will
be for practice only. You'll get two twenty five minute sessions.
Then they're gonna qualify. It will be one lap and
only one round at Vegas, one of the races at Phoenix, Miami, Darlington, Texas, Kansas, Charlotte, Nashville, Michigan, Pocoto,

(36:30):
Saint Louis, and New Hampshire. On the short tracks, which
would be Martinsville, Bristol, Dover, Iowa, and Richmond. You're gonna
have the same two groups twenty five minutes, but then
you're gonna have two laps for one round.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
So the two round qualifying thing is over. With the
exception of super speedways.

Speaker 5 (36:45):
Super speedways, you're not gonna practice at all, with the
exception of the Daytona five hundred. So both races Atlanta,
both races at Talladega, and the second one at Daytona,
they're gonna qualify. It's very similar to what they did
this year. And then they're gonna take the top ten
and you're gonna qualify again, but it's still only one lap.
The biggest change comes to road courses, where they're going
back to the group qualifying again.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
It's gonna be twenty minutes.

Speaker 5 (37:07):
You're gonna have two groups twenty minutes each group, multiple
cars on the track, and it's gonna be one round
of qualifying and the fastest of it doesn't matter what
group you're in.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
The fastest will start on the pole.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
That's gonna be at Chicago, Sonoma, Watkins, Glenn and Charlotte
on the roval. And then they're gonna have a special
system at quota because the track is reconfigured.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
You know, they're running on the smaller thing.

Speaker 5 (37:32):
So Koda is gonna use use the same format as Watkins,
Glenn and Charlotte in twenty twenty four, where the cars
will be assigned to groups two twenty minute practices forty
minutes total and the Coda practice sessions will lead into
the qualifying. So the Truck Series is gonna run fifty
minute practices for all their events. So that's that's different.

(37:53):
Unlike like this year, this past year at Milwaukee, where
they we're only out there for what I think twenty
minutes apiece. They're gonna get fifty minutes for every single
race for all all all the cars at once, and
then they're gonna have the same qualifying with just one round.
And then the Xinity Series is also going to do
the same as the Cup Series with the two they're
gonna split into two groups twenty five minutes each.

Speaker 4 (38:14):
So huh they I don't know that it was broke,
but what we want to do is keep making it better.
I get well, the A and B thing I think
was what was the point. They tried to make it
like a dirt dirt track, I guess.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
And that didn't really have any It really didn't.

Speaker 5 (38:29):
It didn't work out because the group you know, in
dirt racing, they do the A and the B because
the track changes with the drying out, and they put
you in the heat races were in the Cup series.
You know, the third fastest guy in group B could
be faster than the guy in group A, and he's
going to start behind him. So it was always confusing
and nobody understood it. So I'm glad they got rid
of that.

Speaker 3 (38:47):
All right, that's interesting stuff.

Speaker 4 (38:49):
Well, before we go to this break, I just want
to say Toby has sat in with PJ and will
be available to talk with us after Brian does some results.
There aren't a lot of results to talk about, so
it's a good thing. And if you have anything specific
for us, it's like we don't get you know, tech

(39:10):
people since Ed died, you know, and that's things.

Speaker 3 (39:13):
This is really great.

Speaker 4 (39:14):
We can ask Toby if there's a subject that comes up,
you want to talk about bodies, he would know either way.
We'll take a break now, come back with some results,
and Toby joins us after these messages.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
Thanks for being with us.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Hey, Matthew, give me a hand with this tree.

Speaker 1 (41:39):
And now the ltn Our presents Turn on that Church
with Brian Schmidt.

Speaker 5 (41:47):
Just a pair of events this past weekend, but some
big money on the line for them. We'll go to
Lake City, Florida Thursday night the All Tech Raceway for
the XR six or four Great Nationals, that is for
the six oh four Late Models Dirty Models. There they
had one hundred and one lay models show up for
this event. Two five thousand dollars win preliminary features each

(42:07):
of the two nights, so they had Thursday night, Michael
Brown was your winner and they did it again on
Friday night and Mark Whitener was your winner that line
him up for last night's big sixty lap.

Speaker 3 (42:16):
One hundred thousand.

Speaker 5 (42:18):
Dollars to win for the six oh four crate Late
Models last night, and Randy Weaver was your winner for
those that watch on Flow. That is the same Randy
Weaver that you see at ELDRA hosting the pre and
post race shows for the World one hundred and the
dream that grabbed the big win there last night. So wow,
one hundred thousand dollars for the six oh four creates.

Speaker 7 (42:38):
A thunk one fourteen correct dream Weaver.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
That's what he Yeah, that's what he used to drive.

Speaker 5 (42:42):
Yeah, he was in a owned somebody else's car this
past week, and I didn't know the exact number, but
it was not his own stuff, but it was somebody else's.
The only other event of the weekend was down in
do Coin, Illinois, inside the Southern Illinois Center for the
Power Eye National Midgets. The Junior Knepper fifty five. Carter
Sarf was winner. Christopher Bell showed up and finished second

(43:03):
in the midget. Then he hopped into the non wing
micro sprint and he won that feature event. So he
knocked the rust off in short order before he had
to do the Chili Bowl next month. So look for
Christopher Bell to be rather sporty when he shows up
in Tulsa. So that is everything for this week on too.

Speaker 6 (43:20):
The asphalt side of things pretty much just that snowball
derby last Sunday, Stephen Nassy finished second to Caden Honeycut.
That was a hell of a battle at the end
time Majeski led the most laps, had the fast time,
and he ended up falling to third. William Swallach was fifth,
Geo Vergerio sixth, Sammy Smith seventh. Getting back into through

(43:43):
the field. Luke Fenhouse started eleventh and finished eleventh, Bubba
Pollard was fourteenth, Carson Quopple fifteenth, Derk Thorn had some
mechanical issues he ended up twenty fourth, and then Cayden
Quample ended up getting caught up in an ins He
finished thirty first. But the other Caden that won Caden Honeycut.

(44:06):
It was his first ever super late Model win and
he is the twenty twenty four Cars Tour Pro Late
Model champ as well too. He's also from Texas, so
there was a big Texas contingent quite happy about that
as well.

Speaker 4 (44:19):
He was so excited that he won that he puked
all over himself and had shuts in his beard did.

Speaker 3 (44:25):
And I felt bad for him.

Speaker 6 (44:26):
That's terrible now, So all the photos of him, like
cheering after he gets out of the car have vomit
all the way down to the waist.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
Couldn't somebody just give the poor guy a toweld.

Speaker 9 (44:35):
They gave it.

Speaker 6 (44:36):
They gave him a shirt to put on over that.
So then yeah, yeah, oh, by that point, every.

Speaker 3 (44:41):
Get in there an interview. That guy real nice and cool.
He has a lot of dirt background behind him.

Speaker 5 (44:47):
He ran a fair amount of dirt late model stuff
and he ran a lot of IMCA stock car stuff too.

Speaker 3 (44:52):
So that's a dirt guy.

Speaker 7 (44:53):
That just one little hopeful girl anymore.

Speaker 6 (44:55):
Right, Yeah, right, I didn't see her coming in there
for that either.

Speaker 4 (44:58):
He's that crap out of your beard before you start
kissing the trophy.

Speaker 10 (45:03):
But that it was.

Speaker 6 (45:05):
It was a hell of a race, it really was.

Speaker 4 (45:07):
Yes, since since Toby is close by there, I would
like to ask, I guess just a short term, a
short run wasn't really good for that ninety one car
because boy, he was the dominant car all day.

Speaker 10 (45:24):
Well, we knew it going in that we were struggling
short run. We had a problem with the car that
took up most of our practice. We end up finding
a ball joint that was bound up and we never
really got a chance to work on it. If you
look at last year, short one wasn't our strong suit.
Long run. The car is almost unbelievable. But we know

(45:48):
it comes down to a short run and they made
better adjustments than what we did. And looking back at it,
it's real easy to sit back and say, well, we
should have done this, should have done that. Bottom line,
as we didn't do it, So we ended up.

Speaker 4 (46:03):
Thirty almost surprising because he was so dominant all day long, you.

Speaker 3 (46:08):
Know, but sometimes stuff happens, and that's what pretty much
what we got on.

Speaker 8 (46:14):
So we had that other caller question about the new
bodies versus the old style bodies and stuff.

Speaker 7 (46:19):
What is the big deep difference. There is an arrow,
the big difference between the two.

Speaker 10 (46:22):
Yeah, it's an arrow, it's an arrow balance. I mean
it's been going on for years. Five Star came up
with a new body, I don't know, four or five
years ago. You know, everybody started switching to him, and
then everybody decided that they weren't as good, and everybody
switched back. So Five Star did a big wind tunnel

(46:49):
test with both bodies, the new and old, on the
same chassis, and they came up with, you can the
roof on a new body is four inches wider four
and a half inches wider than old body. So they
come up with to balance it out, it works better

(47:10):
with a bigger spoiler, like a sixty four and a
half inch spoiler. Well, everybody in the country lets them
run that, except the ASA Stars Tour. They I won't
say why. It got a pretty good idea why, and

(47:31):
they about all had it that they were gonna let
it go, and then we went to Winchester and that
car we ran there had a new body on it, and.

Speaker 7 (47:41):
It was really fast.

Speaker 10 (47:43):
I don't believe anybody probably maybe could have drove it
other than Tie because I mean it was loose, but
it was fast. So now they're in the process of
starting the ABC committee over. ASA is in charge of that,
which I commend them for and try to get this

(48:04):
all worked out. You know, we have one car that
has a new body. That's the one we run it Slinger.
We ran it at that big Lea with the big spoiler,
but when we won the Slinger Nationals, we won without
the big spoilers.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
So it's like a crap shoot.

Speaker 10 (48:24):
Huh yeah, Well what body like we're planning on rebuilding
a car, you know, what body do we put on it?
You know, I would say if they allow the bigger spoiler,
we'll probably put the new body on. I mean, Tye
Fields are really they're really free being loose, but I

(48:46):
don't know.

Speaker 3 (48:47):
Interesting I cry, then there's.

Speaker 7 (48:54):
I got you know what ty says.

Speaker 10 (48:57):
You know, some of the guys say it's really tight
in traffic. Well whatever, for whatever reason, we're sideways.

Speaker 3 (49:03):
So they are so many things to considering this deal.
I wonder if they you know this.

Speaker 4 (49:10):
The fellow that called from Jacksonville, Florida said that he
didn't see the newer bodies running in Florida, which there's
only a couple of tracks he's talking about new Simyrna
is probably one of them, and Freedom Factory is the
other one in Pensacola.

Speaker 3 (49:23):
So I don't.

Speaker 4 (49:25):
I can't imagine that that they don't let the upgraded
bodies run at those tracks.

Speaker 10 (49:31):
But well then there's the other body. They are bodies.
So there's people that say, if they allow the big
spoiler on the five Star.

Speaker 13 (49:41):
Body, well then they got allow of the they.

Speaker 10 (49:44):
Are body, the Revolution Body they call it, which is
what Michael Bilderbach hai down a big eight, his big
eight car, you know, and there and their.

Speaker 3 (49:57):
Career or something. Huh was it really a good body?
I don't. I didn't recall how long.

Speaker 10 (50:02):
It looks like a goddamn spaceship. Well sometimes and there's
people that are that are leveraging. You know, one is
Freddick Query and Ricky Brooks. Ricky it was legal at
that Freedom Factory race, but nobody put one on because
I don't know what we don't know. Nobody knows what's

(50:22):
gonna happen. I mean, personally, we won't put one on
because five stars they've been We've been five I've been
five stars since we started just I started racing, and
I don't.

Speaker 7 (50:36):
Care how good it is.

Speaker 10 (50:37):
We ain't putting one on. You know they've offered it
to us.

Speaker 3 (50:41):

to join us. Paul wait and talk to us on
the telephone here from a scene I Paul.

Speaker 19 (53:25):
Happy Sunday, everybody. I guess I read recently where for
the race the All Star Race at Bowman Gray. Charlotte
Motor Speedway is going to be where they take the cars.

Speaker 4 (53:41):
Limitations is going to be done in Charlotte before they
take them up there, and you know they couldn't cheat
the cars up between the two, right.

Speaker 19 (53:51):
Well, I guess what I want to know is.

Speaker 3 (53:55):
Toby's on.

Speaker 19 (53:55):
Toby, can you share a little bit about like teching
cars for in posts? Like are you do you have
to be there for both or can you just send
a crew person there? And what are they looking for?

Speaker 13 (54:12):
Well?

Speaker 10 (54:13):
Sure I would say I don't have to be there,
but it's most crew chiefs. When you're there, you want
to be there, you know. So if there's a question
or they to suspect something, you can you know, you
can head it off before before before it happens, you know.

Speaker 3 (54:34):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 4 (54:37):
Okay, that's it in a nutshell. Since all of a
sudden the phones aren't lighting up, Rick in Pewaukee waiting to.

Speaker 3 (54:44):
Talk to was I Rick?

Speaker 4 (54:46):
Hey, good morning, Todd.

Speaker 13 (54:48):
Hi got a quick question for you.

Speaker 3 (54:53):
What's going on with NASCAR and Roade America? Brian would
be on top of this one. Brian, You got a
quick answer for him?

Speaker 5 (55:03):
Yeah, nothing, nothing really right now, you know, NASCAR has
moved on to their other things. We were told that
it was just because of the Olympics, but you know,
I mean, it's it has a lot to do with
how NASCAR operates too. When they when they bring just
their support series along and not the Cup Series, you're
you're kind of you're kind of like a second class citizen,

(55:25):
so to speak, from what I've heard from people over there.
So you know, they don't they don't bring all the
people there, they don't bring the media people there. They
don't they don't bring their full set of people. And
the tracks are responsible for a lot of their own stuff,
and for a facility like Road America to bring in that,
it's just it just didn't make a lot of sense
in the end there.

Speaker 3 (55:44):
Jeez.

Speaker 4 (55:44):
I heard this week, a good one that something about
the NASCAR told the track that they didn't have enough
bathrooms and that every single hauler had to have its
own porta potty and the bill for that should have
been picked up by Road America, and Road America sent

(56:04):
the bill to NASCAR.

Speaker 3 (56:07):
Is this a bunch of bs or what? Yeah? That is?
That is I mean, it's more of a scheduling thing.

Speaker 5 (56:11):
There's only a couple of dates that fit for NASCAR
at Road America, and I believe I believe this year
or twenty twenty five, that particular weekend is when they're
gonna be at the Brickyard. So Road America has such
a full schedule. It's more like NASCAR has to fit
into their schedule for the Exfinity Series. I think they're
not gonna move a lot of things around for the
Exfinity Series.

Speaker 3 (56:30):
Cup Series. They might, but not the Exfinity Series.

Speaker 7 (56:32):
And the big thing there is the bridge isn't burned.

Speaker 3 (56:34):
I mean they're not.

Speaker 8 (56:35):
They's not bad blood between NASCAR Road America. They will
if they want to come back and they can make
it work, they'll have they'll do it right right.

Speaker 5 (56:41):
It's just gonna you know, they're not gonna move a
whole bunch of things around just to bring an Expinity
Series racing, which doesn't bring the revenue. Now that you've
had the Cup Series, you know there's a difference between
before and after as well.

Speaker 3 (56:51):
If you you know, before you had the Cup.

Speaker 5 (56:53):
Series, you're always thinking, all right, we're gonna try to
build up to this point you actually had them. Now
now it's kind of the downfall on the other side
of it. So you're not gonna move, you know, your
marquee events around just to try to fit them in.
And NASCAR schedule is very tough as well, and there
was a lot of talk before that of going to
the Milwaukee Mile and all that isn't a possibility either.
Right now, it's kind of on the outside looking in,
so there's a lot of movie parts.

Speaker 4 (57:11):
That's where we're at, all right, Thanks for the call, Rick,
We appreciate that. A few things happened. Ryan Blaney married
his longtime girlfriend Gianna. If it's pronounced like our basketball player,
it's Yanna, I guess right, But either way, they got
married on the twelfth in Aspen, Colorado, and he had
a tuxedo with a fur collar. That's important. I'm told

(57:33):
track House Racing is going to bring out and I
don't really know all my numbers. Here a GT three
point r at Daytona. It's going to run in the
GTD Pro Class. Why is any of this important? Because
Connor Zilich is going to drive the car and Shane

(57:55):
Van Gisberg and it's going to be one of the
drivers along with Scott McLoughlin and some guy I named
Ben Keating and that's going to be at the twenty
four hours of Daytona, which is not all that far
in the future.

Speaker 3 (58:07):
Only either I.

Speaker 7 (58:08):
Named Ben Keating. He actually pretty good road race around.

Speaker 3 (58:10):
Yes, he is very accomplished.

Speaker 4 (58:13):
I have to refer to you, defer to you, guys,
because that's out of my my lane right there, and
I don't like to talk about that. Exfinity teams are
required to pay forward one point three million dollars just
to run a forward and all you get is a car,
no parks, no data. So this team which I never
heard of, called Viking thirty eight car and next Finity

(58:37):
is now going to have Matt the Benedetto in an
r CR Chevrolet. Is that I guess he doesn't require
that much money. Hey, thanks for tuning in. We'll stick
around on the internet for a little while here if
any of you you want.

Speaker 2 (58:50):
To do that for all of us.

Speaker 4 (58:52):
Remember we're going to be back for our final show
next week here in Fox Sports nine twenty.

Speaker 3 (58:57):
And like we want everybody to remember, real race cars
had doors, even if they do climb in through the windows.

Speaker 4 (59:05):
Let's talk nascars produced and directed by Dangerous Dan Margetta.
Our engineer is Matt Loci and for all of us,
thanks for tuning in and we'll see you next week. Everybody,
this program.
