The lt N Hour.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Let's Talk Nascar with your host Todd Bailing, co hosts
Brian Schmidt, PJ Noodleman, and producer Dangerous Dan Margatta. Call
the show anytime at four one, four four two one
seventy nine oh one, And now the creator and host
of the Vastest Hour and Radio, Todd Berling.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Only I'm not Sod Bailing. He is with us though.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
Hi.
Speaker 5 (00:39):
I'm PJ Noodleman, and we are joined by Todd Bailing
from down in Miami.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Hello, Todd, I.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Am getting ready to get on a cruise ship with
Kenny Wallace and Kim Wallace and the rest of the
Kenny Wallace fan club. But I'm in a hobby in
a lobby of a hotel right now, and when I
got a bunch of people staring at me, so I
have to pretend I'm not talking.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
That should not be Au. That should actually be very
hard for you.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
Also joining us on the show, obviously, are the other
co hosts.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
We have Dan Margetta with us. Good morning Dan.
Speaker 6 (01:14):
Good morning. Yeah, I'm back here and I got old
snowy Wisconsin. Todd's the only one in sunshine, I guess
because you're in rain, right.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
PJ and exactly Todd.
Speaker 6 (01:21):
You shouldn't be too not used to this. We used
to do the show that way from Daytona when you
stepped to do it from the payphone because they didn't
get credentials. Remember it was the only payphone.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
You had people standing around going how long is this
gonna take?
Speaker 5 (01:34):
And then we have Brian Schmidt from Utzburg as well.
Speaker 7 (01:38):
Yep, I feel like an Eskimo up here in my igloo.
Can't wait to retire and move where it's warmer, because
this is terrible.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
It has been brutal.
Speaker 5 (01:47):
And I am in Pensacola right now where it has
been raining NonStop since we all got to town.
Speaker 7 (01:53):
Was there a drought before you got there?
Speaker 5 (01:55):
Yeah, yeah, there was a drought and then now it's
like mother Nature has decided is a good time to
get caught up on the moisture levels. So last night
they had the prolates that morning, well technically yeah, but
they did get qualifying in last night for the Snowball Derby.
That was kind of a cluster as well. On the
(02:18):
pole today for the Snowball Derby will be Preston Peltier.
Ty Majeski went out third in qualifying, which is not
normally a good deal, but he actually held the top
position until Preston came out and cracked off a little
faster than him. So those two will make up the
front row, which is exciting. Casey Johnson was another Wisconsin
night that had to qualify early. That poor guy has
(02:40):
had so much trouble early on in this weekend. We
can go through all of the things that are going
on with him later on in the show.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Do want to blow or wad this.
Speaker 5 (02:48):
Early, but it's been an exciting and kind of up
and down weekend for a lot of teams because of
this rain. The whole program last night did go into
the early morning. They did get qualifying in for the
Snowflake the Prolates, and they got the race in too,
but good gracious, it wasn't done until I didn't even know.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Was it like two thirty three o'clock in the morning.
Speaker 7 (03:13):
Yeah, three thirty am is what I was told by.
Uh yeah, three thirty am, they finished told by one
of our coharts from up here who was down there.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
I didn't look at the clock, if I'm being honest,
but yeah, it was. It was late.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
So then we're all back here early again this morning,
and it is raining, so the schedule is already getting shifted.
All of the haulers are still getting moved out of
the infield. The Donnie Wilson triage is already out. They
just left Anthony Campy Racing. He's got his hauler in
here yet, and there's a few other ones that still
(03:46):
have to get their the two dyes out of here
because they move everything out of the infield so that
the fans in the stands have a good view, hoping
that we have lots of fans in the stands today
because this rain has just been persistent.
Speaker 6 (04:00):
Now it's supposed to go off at one o'clock as
a scheduled start time. With the weather going on, it's
probably not gonna happen. Then you think they're going to
get a racing today.
Speaker 5 (04:07):
I would just about bet it. That sounds like they're
willing to even go into the evening. The driver's meeting
I think is happening right now, but I'm not one
hundred percent sure yet because they were going to be
moving that as well. But I'm pretty sure that they're
going to get more news and then I'll grab it
from them when they're they.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Head to head with the packer game perfect perfection.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
I probably am not going to be able to get
the driver interviews that I would love to do because
with it raining, they're all like farts in the wind,
you know. I mean, they're going to be ducking and
covering and just not really hanging out as easily accessible
as they have been in the past. So in advance,
I'm going to apologize for not being able to provide
the kind of coverage that we normally are accustomed to
(04:48):
here at the Snowball derby.
Speaker 6 (04:50):
And you had to figure they're probably not gonna be
in the best pool after being known and getting rained
down for three days straight of it. This is kind
of like the worst possible scenario can happen, right, Yeah,
it really is. Bands promoters. I mean, I feel bad
for Tim Bryant down there, because what are you gonna do.
You can't control the weather, and when it just continuously
pours and you like this and it makes it that
much more difficult, it is hard to do. They're going
(05:11):
to get through.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
It, though, absolutely, and he's been real good spirited about everything.
That guy's Tim Bryant has been doing everything he can
to try to make as many people happy as he can,
but as you know, you never can make everybody happy.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
But yeah, it's out of his hands.
Speaker 5 (05:26):
And I think overall everybody's been just kind of rolling
with the punches because you know, there's nothing you can
do about it. It's just frustrating to have the biggest
event of the year be just marred by nothing but
NonStop wetness. Because even if it's projected for the rain
to stop around twelve thirty today, this place is so
saturated with moisture that it's going to take a while
(05:48):
to get the track dry. Even last night for qualifying
for the Snowball Derby, the track was really not completely dry.
There was a lot of wetness yet on the track,
and they went ahead and rolled her off to get
her started because they needed to, and then we ended
up with a lot of mist yet coming down that
was not even perceptible on the radar.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
Can't try the track like that, No.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
It was.
Speaker 5 (06:15):
It was just brutal and there's a couple of guys
that ended up crashing two.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Mike Hopkins was the one that was the most brutal.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
He had I think he had a left rear shock
break on the back stretch I saw it spark and
then he went winging into the turn and uh assend
first into the wall and just crushed the car. So
he was toast and didn't even get to take a
qualifying lap.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
But that was not whether rain related.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
That was.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
That was definitely a parts failure on him.
Speaker 7 (06:49):
It was pretty impressive though, to see because when you
saw the qualifying draw come out and you saw Derek
Krauseb be like the second car out and Time be
a third car out, you're thinking that's not good. But boy,
those two both made the shit. Oh I mean Derek,
when was the last time he qualified in on time?
It's been a while, so, you know, congratulations them both.
Those guys make the show. And as it turned out,
that probably was a good thing to be earlier, because
(07:10):
you didn't have all the speedy dry on the track
and it was probably drier than it was later.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
Well even that before they did the draw on Wednesday,
I asked ty Majeski, I said, what are you hoping
that you draw? And he sat and he thought about
it for a minute. He says, actually, I'm kind of
opening somewhere between one and ten, And I said early. Really,
He said yeah, because the track will be green and
I won't have to deal with all kinds of other
rubber on the track then, And he said that because
(07:35):
he was anticipating the rain washing any of the modified
rubber or anything else.
Speaker 7 (07:39):
Off.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
Turns out those guys are going to be running on
Monday anyway, the modifieds. But I just thought it was
interesting that he actually wanted to go early and not
this early, he said, but he would have preferred maybe
around ten or eleven.
Speaker 6 (07:53):
Didn't want to be six and seven like Casey Jonathan
and Air Jones because they went on, yeah, right after
the guy crashed and kind of clean the track for
everybody else. I guess it's kind of sucks when you've
been there all weekend and it's so important with qualifying
that I'm not sure that they would have made the
top thirty anyways, but I don't know they wouldn't have
been forty second and forty third or over they were.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
Yeah, they certainly had a lot of challenges this weekend,
and we can chat about that, I guess real quickly,
because I know we've got the NASCAR court case to
chat about too. But yeah, Casey Johnson had engine issues
as well too. Austin Nason and his team, they're down here,
and they actually were loaning Casey and his team a
backup engine to put in so that they could have
(08:35):
a shot at it, and it just every time something
would go right. I was like, every turn, something was
happening to that poor team. But yeah, and then they
didn't They decided to not even run that last chance
qualifier because how much do you really want to push
your luck?
Speaker 8 (08:49):
Right?
Speaker 3 (08:49):
When you see all the stop signs, you probably should
quit blowing them, right.
Speaker 6 (08:53):
Yeah, you're probably trying to tell you something exactly exactly.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
So, yeah, Casey Johnson unfortunate that he isn't going to
be able to have the weekend come to Fruition. And
he looked pretty decent in practice. You know when the
car was running.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
Blew an engine that borrowed one.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
I guess huh, yeah, that's what we were just saying
with Austin Nason helping out. So anyway, the rain is
persisting and car covers are still on everybody's car, and
that's a concern too, because when you get the moisture
in the air like that, you're going to have to
really be cautious to not let it get down into
the air filter, into the air box and cause all
(09:33):
kinds of other issues. There was a lot of people
who were having some burp and hiccupping with their cars
that just did not Like Noah Gregson, former winner of
this race, his car was just a turd after all
the rain that we had. I don't know if they
just didn't fog the engine or do what they needed
to do to help prevent it from getting nasty. But
(09:54):
he did not make the race.
Speaker 6 (09:56):
All the big nastcar guys that were there, I mean
most of them didn't make it. Kyle Busch had won
the last chance race to get in. Gregson didn't make
the show. Eric Jones didn't make the show. Yeah, it
was kind of like surprising that they were better than
what they were.
Speaker 5 (10:09):
Yeah, And Kyle Busch is running the Brian Lopez racing car,
and I know when they were down here practicing earlier
a couple of weeks ago or so, Kyle apparently wanted
them to set the car up like what.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
He had had here, you know, in the years that
he was running.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
And I don't know that that would have been the
best thing to do, because things change, right, Technology changes
in such a way that in the Kyle's k Day.
I hate to say it that way, but when he
was running here, things that he was doing for setup
are probably not going to be as advantageous today as
they were back then.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
So I don't know if that was what the hiccup
was for him or not. Break times all right, Ron, Yeah,
we'll take a break.
Speaker 5 (10:53):
We'll come back with more news live from the Snowball
derby and with the court case of NASCAR.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
This is the LTN hour.

Welcome back to the LTN Hour.
Speaker 5 (12:52):
It is Snowball Derby weekend, but it's more like rain Derby.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
We'll have more updates from here where I'm at or
in a bit.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
But in the meantime, the NASCAR court case continues with
twenty three eleven in Company versus NASCAR.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Dan Margetta. What's the state of the state now?
Speaker 6 (13:08):
Yeah, I mean it actually made it to court, which
is kind of everybody's kind of surprised that made it
this far. But now we're here and it's off and rolling.
They chose a jury this week. They had some witnesses.
I'm not sure exactly which side is that exactly winning.
I think both sides got some pretty good hits in
both sides kind of took some hits and and yeend again,
I'm not still not sure which side is gonna come
out of this as the winner. I just got a
(13:28):
feeling that no matter how it ends, nobody's gonna come
out looking as good at this I said this week.
Denny Hammond was the first witness up on Monday, and
it was pretty contentious. Apparently you can kind of see
how much tension is between NASCAR and teams, and it's
kind of built over the last what three years, I think,
since they've been trying to negotiate this charter deal, it's
really gotten more nasty. He really saw in public, I
(13:50):
guess because the testimony was you know, not very you know,
it was cordial for court, but you can tell that
they didn't really they.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
Have some the gloves were off.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
So I speed.
Speaker 6 (14:04):
Exactly the you know, some of the things that popped out.
I guess let's try to highlight some of the things
we had here that you know, Danny claim that that
as owning part of twenty three eleven, he has to
compete with NASCAR for sponsors, and NASCAR denied that. They
said that was false, and I'm not sure I kind
of see where Denny's coming from a NAT I mean absolutely,
I mean, you know, one thing that was brought up was,
(14:26):
you know what about Geico. Geico's a NASCAR sport or sponsor.
That was Germaine sponsor before it went to NASCAR, right,
I mean, uh, you know, Gey was gone gone obviously,
but when they came that that they went out. I've
seen in the past where where sponsors have left from
teams and went to NASCAR. I've also seen responsors have
come to NASCAR and say we want part of this,
(14:47):
and they've steered them to teams and they've done that.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
You know, they're taking their cut out of that too.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
Right exactly. I mean you've there's a book boy back
in like nineteen ninety six, some guy named shann As
wrote a book about about the NASCAR season. We got
a copy because he was on a radio Shoulders. Actually
a pretty decent book to read. In it said it
it went behind with Brett poon I and he took
over for Junior Johnson when Junior got out, he kind
of left Brett pon iOS everything and they had I
(15:12):
think Lowves I think was on the car and that
kind of was one of those deals that was kind
of steered that way through NASCAR kind of deal. It
kind of explained how that worked. They did help out,
but that was back in an area where they were
working together. You know, it was before chigres and now
they're not another thing they brought up, you know, salaries
then he makes fourteen million dollars a year. That's a
(15:32):
pretty huge salary right now in this day and age,
that's got to be by far the highest in the series,
you would think, right, I think it is.
Speaker 5 (15:38):
I mean, and Dan, I think that deserves some explanation though,
because for the average person listening, fourteen million, they're gonna
be like, damn, that's a lot.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
But it's really not.
Speaker 6 (15:47):
Well, I mean, it's not when you look at what
other sports guys are making. I mean, here's pitchers are
making twenty two million dollars a year and.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
They're probably not risking their life throwing a pitch.
Speaker 6 (15:56):
That yeah, that too, you.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
Know, this is kind of a big deal there too.
He goes out and wins.
Speaker 6 (16:03):
And it's sponsorships what it is. I mean, you had
a FedEx was there for so long, and they were
under the old way where sponsors paid that much money
to sponsor a team. So they stayed under that agreement
and Jenny was able to make that. Kyle Bushes making
crazy money when Eminem's was around, and then when they left,
it kind of went down. Now I don't think anybody's
that way because he figured back you remember back when
(16:24):
like look when Matt Kenson's kind of got, you know,
forced out of the whole deal. You know, he was
making there were guys that were coming up and they
were signing for way less. You know, like, you know
what was Bowman signed to drive? That eighty eight car
was like ridiculously low compared to everybody else was.
Speaker 4 (16:38):
Doing it, like four hundred thousand or something.
Speaker 6 (16:40):
Like, Yeah, crazy low. That's why guys are getting upset.
I remember being in the press conference back then when
Kevin Harveck kind of called out Dale Junior because Dale
Junior had said, well, these guys got to realize they
got to take a pay cut. It was after Junior retired,
and Harvarck was like, hey, man, you're retired. Everybody, we're
still here fighting this, don't you know. We don't need
to be putting your two.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
Cents And think of it this way. Reys Hoskin, who
turned out to be a backup first baseman for the Brewers,
made seventeen million dollars last year, and he didn't go
out and risk his life and win a handful of
races and qualify for the playoffs. I just I mean,
you know, for a championship. So I can't help but
(17:18):
think that that. You know, there's a lot of relativity here.
What do what do Formula One drivers make?
Speaker 7 (17:24):
Well, god, not as much as Hamilton the highest played
athlete in the planet right right up there, Lois Hamilton.
Speaker 6 (17:29):
It's only one or two. I think there's not many.
There are some that are making less than any Hamlet.
I mean it's believable, it is. It's kind of and
but to get to that level like other sports are
I mean, I guess you're maybe the whole thing has
to change, right, but Ken, well, racing ever get to
that point. I was kind of saying about that too
in this whole deal there. You know, Jordan was on
(17:50):
the stand too, and he was trying to to compare
it to NBA and how much percentage they get all
the revenues, and say, you look at football, right, all
the the teams kind of own the league. Is that
how that worked?
Speaker 4 (18:01):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (18:01):
Okay? Will that work in racing? I mean, well, can
all the teams get together and own like NASCAR? Because
I see how.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Does that work when a team leaves?
Speaker 4 (18:11):
Though?
Speaker 7 (18:11):
I mean, is that not what KRT was and car
and that that exploded?
Speaker 6 (18:17):
I should say, Yeah, every race team I've seen where
teams got together and tried to run something nobody could
get together on the same page ended up. Look at
your short tracks, you know exactly. I mean, can you
make that work? I don't know.
Speaker 7 (18:29):
No, As they say, those who forget the pass are
doing to repeat it. Well, we don't want to repeat
of what happened with kartause that that destroyed any car
for decades.
Speaker 6 (18:37):
Well, we may already be there with this. I mean,
I mean we're sixty some days away right from the
Dayton one of five hundred. I don't see any promotions
for that. All I see is is right yellow at
each other. So I don't know, we'll see. I mean
some of the things that had come up this week's
of the witnesses where Hamlin was there, they had Steve
O'Donnell on the stand. I think Scott Prime was understand.
Heather Gibbs came in and testified, and then Michael Jordan
(19:00):
and Jordan's deal. That's gonna be a big deal this
with this jury in Charlotte. I mean, Jordan's a pretty
popular figure in Charlotte, still in North Carolina. I mean
there were guys. Do you see the guy playing his
bulls music when he walked into court? Oh wow, yeah,
So I mean there is One of the jurors actually
got dismissed because the said he couldn't be impartial because
(19:21):
he was such a Jordan fan and he gave him
the high five or he thumbs up or something as
he left the court.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
So, yeah, no kidding, you know, so they but uh.
Speaker 6 (19:30):
I think the thing I touched that I thought was
kind of interesting. They talked about SRX, you know, and
how uh they were kind of concerned with them in
the last two years of their their series they only
ran for three years because if they said it's starting
to look like NASCAR, I think they were concerned that
NASCAR guys were starting to go over there. And I
really think there was a real concern that some of
these teams and drivers would try to do start a
(19:52):
separate competing series somewhere, or go drive somewhere else, or
try to get somethingwhere else. Because the negotiations were going
so bad, Speedway Motorsports wanted an SRX race. They wanted
to use that revenue to pay down their debt, and
the NASCAR wouldn't let them because there were exclusivity deals
in track sanctions. They got those five year deals, and
part of that five year deal was you couldn't have
(20:14):
another stock car race or another race at your facility
other than NASCAR. They listed a bunch of series that
were okay to have, like IndyCar Ims, some of their
major ones. I did notice that trans Am wasn't on
that list, and I was starting to think. I asked
Brian and said, hey, when they left road America, was
that when Transam got their full weekend?
Speaker 4 (20:35):
Yep?
Speaker 6 (20:36):
I mean, I wonder because Transam wanted her full weekend
and then we understood right they didn't want.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
To be correct. They didn't like play a second fiddle.
Speaker 6 (20:42):
Well, I wonder if that wasn't something that went into
it too, as far as that was part of that.
If they even had an exclusivity deal. They didn't have
a five year deal with road America. Road America's kind
of stop.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Gap freak time.
Speaker 6 (20:52):
Okay, some more of this says we go on, but
there's a lot of stuff that came in. It's almost
if you went through it all, it'd be crazy. It's
a lot to take in, and you kind of a
hit and miss. Just hit and talk about certain things
this way as we go.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
We can do this.
Speaker 6 (21:05):
We can.
Speaker 16 (21:09):

That's Miller's sales and service.

chose bonafi because of the services they offer, pricing and
trusted replication.

Welcome back to the FCN Hour. We are live from
multiple locations today. Todd Bailing down in Miami preparing to
go on to the Kenny Wallace Cruise, Dan Margetta and
Brian Schmidt back in Wisconsin in snow, and I am
down in Pensacola for the Snowball Derby where it continues
(23:38):
to rain persistently.
Speaker 4 (23:40):
And I guess I can't get any sympathy for this
air conditioner blowing right on me and I got shorts
and a T shirt on it, and it's really cold.
Speaker 7 (23:48):
You know, if I could take a snowball and throw
it right through my computer screen right now, I would,
but I can't.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
That's a damn shame.
Speaker 6 (23:57):
Yes, in the trial so far this week was uh,
Chicago and Mexico. Looks like NASCAR says they lost fifty
five million dollars on Chicago and six million dollars on Mexico.
And apparently there was in the past there was a
three strike rule that was in these agreements, like a
three strike veto rule where teams could somehow they get
out of NASCAR if they vetoed three decisions or is
(24:19):
there three decisions they were able to not agree with
and they did away with that I think in the
prior agreement. But and the interesting part there was that
the NASCAR said that without with that rule still in place,
they would have never went to Mexico, or they wouldn't
have gone to Chicago. On the street courts because they
probably would have been vetoed. The teams probably wouldn't want
to do it because they didn't like the logistics of
(24:40):
it and the extra travel and stuff.
Speaker 7 (24:42):
And NASCAR isn't and NASCAR's claiming. So they lost the
fifty five million over three years of Chicago, but they
credited that race with being the sole responsibility Amazon.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (24:52):
That in Mexico. Yeah, they said that that that's what
brought Amazon into the into the new broadcast, right, thing
that they got them interested because of that. I kind
of can see Chicago maybe because of the first it
was kind of a hit. We were there, Brian that first. Yeah,
they did well and it was kind of cool. But
then again, was it sustainable? Was it that one thing
that drew another, you know, another network.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Which came first, the Chicken or the eg Yeah?
Speaker 4 (25:15):
Right.
Speaker 7 (25:16):
I mean also they said they lost thirteen million on
the clash of the Coliseum. I mean just these numbers that,
I mean, we we kind of knew they lost a
lot of money, but I think this is more than
I ever thought. I didn't think it was that much.
You lose six million in Mexico, you lose fifty five
million over three years at Chicago and you lose thirteen
million over two years, two or three years at the clash,
you know, and Steve o'donald makes one point two million
(25:38):
a year at his.
Speaker 6 (25:39):
Salary, and that's got prime was like four hundred thousand.
I think for him that I think I made what
did he make? The comment that's a lot of money
for someone that just shows slides or something like that's.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
Coolarious The expense at the coliseum I think came for
Dean Strom who was the announcer.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
Oh right, that is ridiculous of money.
Speaker 5 (26:00):
And I think that what they are trying to illustrate
here is that NASCAR has not been very prudent with
their spending, but yet they don't worry about it because
they're making some damn much money.
Speaker 6 (26:09):
And then, and I guess you could you could look
at it like from an old school perspective, like we
kind of do in how way things used to be.
Look at Look at that Road America race on fourth
of July. You get, yeah, one hundred thousand people each
two years of that to go run and lose tons
of money in Chicago. Now you're claiming you gained more
money down the road. But I can see where racers
think look at that and say why did we why
(26:31):
do we do that?
Speaker 7 (26:33):
But they didn't. And I think that's the that's the
point that needs to be made is Okay, you did
it your first year. Your expenses were high because you
had to build the track, you had to do that,
but you weren't ever able to get ahead of it.
And this past year when we were there, I mean,
the crowd was very minimal, you know, they there wasn't
a lot of sweets, soul they were. They weren't able
to do any of that kind of stuff. So it
didn't work. But then we keep hearing that in two
(26:54):
years we're going to do it again. Why you're not
making any money with it?
Speaker 5 (26:58):
You know, because they can't take out of Road America
because they don't own it, and they can't take a
cut out of the Milwaukee Mile because they don't own it.
And that is what I think twenty three eleven is
trying to illustrate, yeah, and making decisions.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
Based solely upon what they can line their pockets with.
Speaker 7 (27:16):
I'm glad this stuff is coming out for everybody to
see because it's kind of stuff we thought might be
there and now you're seeing the real numbers, and you're
really like WHOA.
Speaker 6 (27:24):
And now Jordan's testimony said, I mean, he claims they
want to all be a partner, and what he said
was was kind of be great. Really could be that
if you could, if you're your owners and the sanctioning
body could all be on the same page and come
together with some kind of a deal. I'm sure're gonna
have some differences, but don't lose sight of the big picture.
I mean kind of NFL. Remember the NFL couple of
years ago, they were going to go on strike and
I thought, oh my god, how are you gonna throw
(27:45):
away theirs? That was billions of dollars there, And then
in the last minute they kind of all figured it out,
you know, because they realize what you're gonna lose. I
don't think they've at this point now in the NASCAR thing,
the teams and NASCAR everybody, what you could lose when
this thing all blows up, because it's going to be
in the hands of what is it, six or nine jurors,
six jurors or.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
You almost get the feeling that Michael Jordan is doing
this for entertainment purposes. You know, I've lost more in
a casino than this has costed me. Well, great, you
got to you gotta have an endgame. And you know,
obviously they didn't want to make any kind of negotiation
about it and make a settlement. So you know how
(28:25):
if that's what your endgame is is just to make
NASCAR look stupid, Okay, you've done it. I think it's
time to get it going. Now, let's come up with
some kind of settlement.
Speaker 6 (28:35):
You almost need to because I don't know, you know,
if if you take NASCAR completely out of the equation,
what do you have left and what do you where
do you go from there? Can you put something together?
It's gonna last seventy five years? I don't know.
Speaker 7 (28:48):
Yes, and this jury too. I mean, so you got
you got nine jers, six men, three women. What you know?
What are they thinking? I heard some I think I
think it was the the tear Down podcast. Guys were
talking about it. I believe it was either Monday or Wednesday.
I was watching it. They're they're after every day after court,
they kind of go through the whole thing, and and
Jordan was saying, Jordan Bianki was saying, how they're you know,
they almost look bored sitting there, Well, can you think
(29:09):
about it? Most people that go to a jury, you're
either dealing with somebody that killed somebody or somebody that
altered somebody's life forever. This ye're listening to two rich
people bicker at each other. It's kind of what it
sounds like, I want more money? Yeah, and what are you?
What are you gonna decide? And if you're not into
Nascar at all, it's like, what do you?
Speaker 4 (29:27):
You know?
Speaker 7 (29:28):
What is the endgame here? And I mean the jurors
can't ask no questions, but you got to be like, Okay,
I'm sitting here getting fifty bucks a day for ten
days to sit here and watch this. What is the
end game? And who's gonna win? And if if if
we side on twenty three eleven side, what is what
is the end result? Where are we going forward from?
You know, nobody's going to jail, So what is the
(29:49):
end game here?
Speaker 4 (29:51):
You gotta take a break, guys, We'll be back after
these messages.
Speaker 13 (29:55):

Yeah, let's get a real tree this year.

certificate the perfect gift. PMF Landscape Supply fifty four to

Speaker 5 (31:48):
Oh, Welcome back to the LTN Hour. We are live
for multiple locations. Todd baileing in Miami as he set
to get onto the cruise ship with Kenny Wallace and
and Brian back in Wisconsin in the snow.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
And I'm PJ.
Speaker 5 (32:04):
Newdleman in Pensacola at five Flag Speedway where the rain
continues to fall and we are in a holding pattern
for the snowball thereby to get underway this afternoon.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
They're going to do it one way or the other.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
Though, right, yeah, they are.
Speaker 5 (32:16):
It just might not be run who might be running
under the lights? Who knows? It's this weather has just
been so lousy the whole week.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
Honestly, did they record that snowball race yesterday that they'll
show like maybe at a different time when people are awake.
Speaker 7 (32:34):
You can watch it on full yeah, flow, Yeah, I watched.
I started watching it this morning. It's an hour and
twenty five minutes if you want to watch it on
floor time.
Speaker 5 (32:41):
Yeah, Kilan Harvick was the winner of that one, which
we'll cover in our results later on, but pretty stout,
little boy.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
We had a caller before we went on the air
who had a plan figured that the owner's specific top
money owners should take over NASCAR. Let NASCAR have a
couple percentage points of love the ownership, and the rest
of it be run by the owners themselves. Isn't this
(33:10):
kind of thing been tried before? I mean, does it work?
Speaker 6 (33:14):
I don't know. I mean F one sold the Liberty
Media and they were pretty successful, was it? That's a
company there and Fox bought any car?
Speaker 4 (33:21):
Right?
Speaker 6 (33:21):
I mean, would something be out there to you know,
buy Nascar? Would they be what's interested in selling to
a group and being maybe a percentage ownership or something.
I don't know. I mean, it could be a way
to get out of this.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
Though unbelievable.
Speaker 6 (33:37):
I mean, there's other news that have gone on to
which kind of came out during the trial when Denny
Hammond was testifying, is that we didn't realize that a
competition director over at Joe Gibs Racing, Chris Gabeheart was
a pretty big part of that team has actually left
the organization.
Speaker 7 (33:52):
Yeah, that's kind of surprising. And the rumor is that
he may be going to Spire, I mean, leaving Gibbs
to go to Spire. That seems kind of strange. Got
to be money to me, Yeah, there's got to be
more behind this or yeah, a lot of money behind it.
I'm guessing.
Speaker 6 (34:07):
Man, that's a big hit to Gibbs.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Though.
Speaker 6 (34:09):
I think I think Gave part's pretty good. He was
Hamil's crew chief up until this last year when they
moved into that competition director role and then gave Chris
Gale over to Denny Hamlin. So, I mean, Gaveheart's is
an old racer and I saw him win a super
light a lot of race at a Hierope years ago.
And I think he's a pretty good guy. But Spier's
got a lot of good people over there. They seem
to they're piling up these good people, but never seem
(34:30):
to get the results though.
Speaker 4 (34:31):
You know, no overhead too, right, yeah?
Speaker 7 (34:35):
Or is it a situation where Gayheart didn't like doing
that stuff? Maybe he wants to get back on the
pit box and be more hands on instead of just
being a director where you're kind of sit at a
desk and coordinate it all. So really, no comments, and
Denny Hamlin had no comments either, so we really don't
know the story behind it.
Speaker 6 (34:51):
Oh yeah, that's something that's that's crazy. And then had
some sad news this week, right toad, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:56):
It's unbelievable that Michael Annette passed away at the ripe
old age of thirty nine years old. Are you kidding me?
He's he quit racing what about five years ago, right then?
Speaker 6 (35:07):
Yeah, twenty twenty one, so yeah, just about five years old.
Speaker 4 (35:10):
Four years ago. Okay, you know, there's let's just we'll
wait and see if something comes out about what the
actual cause of death was, because they're not saying anything
at this point. But yeah, it's just a real slap
in a face that, first of all, to lose anybody
at the age of thirty nine. Look, I guess the
(35:32):
question is did it have anything to do with why
he suddenly quit racing four years ago? Was he battling
some sort of disease? You know? I guess that'll come
out in the future. But either way, it's pretty bad.
Speaker 6 (35:46):
I don't know because he kind of just kind of, uh,
you know, we retired out either two years ago. Brian
and I were at his only win.
Speaker 7 (35:52):
At the Daytona kept waiting for somebody to pass him,
and nobody did.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
He just wanted he was money guy, Dan, wasn't he well?
Speaker 6 (36:01):
I mean he brought his family's big with the was
the pilot and flying j.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
Yeah, they owned the pilot track with steps.
Speaker 6 (36:10):
Was it his pr guy? What was Sammy Smith's dad?
Was one of his like advisors or something like that,
And that's kind of why that went with Smith when
he came through up to the Xfinity series. Now another
guy that passed away out West he probably don't know
much about the name here and all West is a
pretty big name is Nick Joe and nineties. I've seen
him when I went to West Coast Races and stuff.
(36:30):
He was fifty five, and I'm not sure what happened there,
but he passed away as well. He crashed or broke
his knee back in October, and I think it might
have been at the bull ring during an arch of Ratar.
I have to go back and see exactly was. But
he put it on Facebook that he had gotten the
bandages off and now the cast off and stuff, and
he was looking forward to, you know, wearing jeans again
and getting on back when I was about like two
weeks ago. And now he passed away too, so I'm
(36:51):
not sure what the problems are. He was fifty five.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
We have some other news too from the short track world.
Speaker 5 (36:58):
I don't know if you'd heard this, but Wesley, he's
the Weder guy that Weirder Nation that does a lot
of the tires for teams. He had an aneurism or
a stroke of some sort earlier this week down here
in Pensacola and has been in the hospital down here
ever since. And it's it's kind of touch and go.
So everybody was asking for prayers for him too. But
(37:18):
that's that's a guy that does a boatload of tires
for these teams here at the five Flag Speedway for
this big event, so every everywhere.
Speaker 6 (37:29):
And he's been around a while. I mean, if you
talk about, you know, calling people racers, Wesley's a racer
because he's been a part of this deal for a
long time and it's kind of.
Speaker 5 (37:38):
His life right absolutely was. Yeah, he travels around the
country to do that. But there's so many teams here
that were basically relying on him. He's got some guys
that work for him that are trying to pick up
the slack here and handle everything this weekend. So I mean, again,
it's just one more thing for everybody that's already dealing
with a lot of stressful situation with the weather.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
And now you've got something dire like an aneurysm.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
Or I should have probably asked this before we are
discussing it. But Alex Prumpty does tires at a lot
of these major events, and I wonder if he works
with him or you know, is it a different outfit completely,
And if anybody the four of us would know, maybe
Pecha you would.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
I think Alex is down here helping Toby.
Speaker 5 (38:21):
Just got into the car with me here and he
thinks that he is down here helping him too.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
He has worked with him in the past. Yeah, I
don't know. Okay, then they every race, but he does
do a lot of them.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
Well, Alex was working hard last week at the Freedom Factory.
I know he did a bunch of tires for a
bunch of cars. So I don't know if Wesley Weed
was there with him or not.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
Yeah, they were going out to eat. I don't know
what night.
Speaker 5 (38:47):
It was Tuesday night, maybe Tuesday night. They went out
to eat. Here, Toby, you heard it more than I did.
Speaker 17 (38:53):
They went on to eat after they Right at the
end of that, when they were eating, they were he
was starting to he was slurring his words and and
then I guess either fell or couldn't walk.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
So they took him and then.
Speaker 17 (39:10):
He shortly after they put uh are they did surgery
and I don't exactly know how it went, but right
now he's in the hospital. He's in uh They got
him in a coma. They got him sedated.
Speaker 5 (39:26):
Awake, yet an induced coma because of the bleeding on
the brain.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
They didn't want it to be a problem. Oh it
was a brain and your here stories.
Speaker 17 (39:37):
But it's possible that he's going to be paralyzed on.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
His left side or it's not good. Let's just say
that it's not good. And he's a great guy. Yeah,
he's a really good guy.
Speaker 5 (39:49):
And as you might expect, when you're self employed like that,
you probably don't have insurance.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
So it's going to be a mess for poor Wes
to change.
Speaker 6 (40:01):
I think it's set up.
Speaker 17 (40:05):
I mean family wise, it's just him and his mother.
Speaker 4 (40:08):
That's it.
Speaker 7 (40:11):
Somebody.
Speaker 5 (40:12):
Yeah, they did set something up. I don't think it
was on go fund Me. It was on another app
like that though.
Speaker 4 (40:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (40:18):
I think it was at Tony Stevens from the TV guy.
He's a pretty good guy as well. I thought I
saw that online. I have to go find it, but
there was something out there.
Speaker 5 (40:26):
Yeah, yeah, And we encourage everybody to help out with
that if you're able to as well too. He's a
heck of a good guy for the entire racing community.
Comes up to Slinger when the nationals are going on
to to be a part.
Speaker 4 (40:38):
Of that break time.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
All right, we'll come back. This is the LTN hour.
Speaker 9 (40:45):
As a growing manufacturing company, we needed security solutions. We

Speaker 14 (41:54):
Yeah, our tree from PMF Landscape looks great.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
And now the LTN Hour Presidents Turn on that Dirt
with Brian Schmidt Toby Hold it Down.
Speaker 7 (42:14):
Dirt Racing time start the Big Dirt Racing Week down
in Saint Louis, Missouri this week at the Dome at
America Center. What is was once just a pipe dream
has turned into an incredible event. The ninth annual Gateway
at Nationals Night number one, ten thousand to win for
the Super Late Models Bobby Pierce was your winner and
the Modifieds was Ricky Thornton Junior. The other half of
(42:34):
the field raced Friday night at the Dome in America Center.
As my computer screen goes blank, there we go. Ten
thousand dollars a win. Ricky Thornton Junior was the winner
of that one and then last night, thirty eight thousand
tickets were sold for last night. I did not get
the final number as to how many walk up sales
they had, but from the looks of it on the screen,
(42:55):
all the bottom sections were full and the very top
section of the dome was over half full. Just unbelievable
amount of people for that event. Seventy thousand dollars to
win last night for the forty lap Super Elate Model
feature and Bobby Pierce led every lap and took home
the big money ten thousand dollars to win for the modifieds,
and Ricky Thornton Junior took home the money.
Speaker 4 (43:15):
There.
Speaker 7 (43:16):
So just an incredible event and it just keeps getting
bigger every year. Dan, you and I went to the
first creation of Cody Summer's event down in Indianapolis, back
and Leans to say that it was like twenty fourteen,
and we walked out here thinking, well, into a racing
is never gonna work. Did you ever think this would
turn out to be like this?
Speaker 1 (43:31):
No?
Speaker 6 (43:32):
I think it was twenty sixty, wasn't it time. Yeah,
I can't believe that this turned event. It was because
after that deal in Indianapolis, I thought, don't want to
ever make an indoor race work again, And they made it
work here in Saint Louis. They've actually made an event
and everybody comes there, everybody wants to be there. It's
kind of it's kind of got like a wrestling feel
to it because it's kind of it's slam bang racing.
I mean, that track is so small and nobody brings
(43:52):
their best stuff because you're gonna wreck it. But it's
got a fun atmosphere about it, and then people come
in there and the teams love it because boy, they
sell some swag.
Speaker 7 (44:02):
Oh yeah, I mean you're hearing numbers of you know,
quarters quarter of a million dollars worth of sales and merchandise.
I mean, think about it, you Right before Christmas, they
had a little bit of a snaff who on Thursday
morning as the teams are bringing in. Now, most teams
when you go to a race have their trailer set up,
so they got to unoad their whole trailer and they're
giving a little piece in the corridor to set it up.
And I guess they were getting bigger. They're blocking exits
(44:23):
and all that kind of stuff. So Cody Summer got
them all in a room and said, hey, you guys,
screw this up, you're out of here. You know, so
you got to follow the rules because you know, you're
following the City of Saint Louis rules and big venues
like that isn't like a dirt track. And they all
followed it because, let's be honest, they make more money
in merchandise sales at this event than you do winning
the race, other than maybe Bobby Pierce. But I bet
your Bobby Pierce sold more than seventy thousand dollars worth
(44:45):
of merchandise there too, So they all do it. They
do a big The driver introductions is kind of like
a WWE type thing. So Brendan Smith knocked out Kyle
Bronson in one of the features earlier on in the week.
So Brendon Smith walks out, it's dark, you walk through
this tunnel. They have music playing. Brendan Smith walks out
saying something like a sign up that says, you know
(45:06):
Kyle Bronson. Kyle Bronson comes up from behind, hi, picks
them up and slams them through a table. I mean,
it's all like orchestra. The crowd absolutely loves it. And
you know, when when you race hundreds of times and
years like we do with the dirt late Models, to
have an event like this, I think it's okay because
you see a lot of peers out there complaining at
a Saint Real racing, But you know, the money that's
being made and the time of the year that it happens,
it's it's it's an absolute home run for motorsports.
Speaker 6 (45:27):
I think, you know, I can see about that set
up the other time, about the vendors and stuff. We
used to do a show down. We had a motorsports
show downtown Milwaukee here at a convention center and we
had a booth there for many years and setting that up.
We get there early and you wait and you're trying
to they have to bring anything for you can't do
it on your own. There's table stacked up and ed
and I would over just grab the table, and the
guy got mad because we couldn't grab the table. They
(45:48):
had to bring the table to you. They had to
plug the plug into the end of the outlet. You
couldn't just plug your stuff in because then it was all,
you know, all wrote written down and then it was charged,
you know, to somebody. So it was kind of ridiculous.
I can't kind of get where they were getting out
of hand being racist in that, But you got to
follow their rules that you want to be in your
convention center.
Speaker 7 (46:06):
Yeah. So if you want to see highlights of it,
anybody that missed it last night, and you're a Flow subscriber,
Flow has replays of it all, hop in there. Check
it out. You can see that. I would I would
encourage you to check out the way the driver introductions
have done for both the modified and the late models.
It's really cool.
Speaker 4 (46:19):
Oh if if I heard you right, Ricky sartin Junior one,
one late Model and two modified races this weekend.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
Correct, Yes, wow.
Speaker 4 (46:31):
A clear clear to the spar we have.
Speaker 7 (46:34):
And he was second in the late Model feature last night.
Speaker 4 (46:36):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 7 (46:37):
So yes, he's on his game like always. So late
models have off now until I believe the second week
of January when they head out to Todd. I hope
by you for the while wet shootout this year at
Casa Grande's Central Arizona Speedway.
Speaker 4 (46:49):
Well go, I'll be there one night anyway.
Speaker 7 (46:53):
That is everything all.
Speaker 3 (46:54):
Upg onto the asphalt side of things.
Speaker 5 (46:57):
Last night, well early this morning, the snowflake when twenty
five was run down here at Pensacola Speedway or five
Flag Speedway, Kiel and Harvick. Kevin Harvick's son was the
winner in that one. A lot of red flags, a
lot of cautions, a lot of wrecks.
Speaker 4 (47:15):
It was eight years old, folks, yeah.
Speaker 5 (47:18):
Thirteen years old and picking up the win on that
and then now today we are going to race. We're
hoping anyway, Toby, what's the situation with the driver's meeting.
Speaker 17 (47:28):
Oh, they're just gonna. We're in a holding pattern and
they're gonna the plan is to race today and if
we don't get it in a day, then we're gonna
run it tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (47:37):
Which I hope that doesn't happen. I'd rather get it
in today.
Speaker 3 (47:41):
Yes, I'd like to watch it today people, No kidding
tomorrow exactly.
Speaker 5 (47:45):
Nonetheless, Preston Peltier will be on the poll for the
event tier tier here, we'll run whenever whenever he starts
the race time and Jeski will be second rolling off there,
going through the rest of the field for notables that
we might be comfortable or knowing about. Cole Butcher he's
going to be starting the seventh row inside and then sorry,
(48:10):
I'm just kind of flipping from the hip here. Eight
throw outside is Caden Honeycut. Derek Thorn will be to
his inside. Bubba Pollard qualified, He'll be rolling off twentieth here.
It looks like Derek Krause will be twenty first. Ty
Frederickson and his first ever attempt to make the Snowball
Derby is in. He'll be starting twenty fourth in the field.
(48:31):
Ryan Priest is in. He qualified in he'll be starting
inside of the fourteenth row and then going back further.
We had the Last Chance race. Kyle Busch won that,
so he'll be rolling off sixteenth row inside. Stephen Nassy
also made it through through the Last Chance race. He'll
be to his outside and it's just going to be
(48:54):
kind of a slober knocker, I think if we ever
get this thing started.
Speaker 7 (48:58):
Gavin Burchelle had to take a provisional because he wadded
his car up during the one and only practice session
right now, Yeah, oh.
Speaker 5 (49:04):
My goodness, yeah he did.
Speaker 4 (49:06):
In case you never heard of Preston Peltier, he's a
West Coast guy and a couple of years ago at
Tucson for the Chili Willy Race, if you will remember,
Steve Apel dragged his car all the way out to
Tucson to race and he did he didn't. He didn't
do good in the beginning, but towards the end he
(49:26):
was really coming in a hurry. Well, that race was
won by Preston Peltier. So I've seen this guy before.
He's he's really good. He's not young. He said this
is going to be his last snowball. So it's a
long way to drag a race. Car anyway, But he's
fifty some years old, and you got to love these
white haired, white beard dudes that actually bring their race
(49:48):
cars down and beat some of those thirteen year olds.
Pretty cool.
Speaker 5 (49:53):
Well, we do hope to get the race started. I
mean again, it has not stopped raining since we've been
here and even before that, so it's consistent and it's
hopefully going to stop here around twelve thirty, but it's
going to take a while to get things dried out
and you can watch the race on flow. Otherwise, if
you're here, enjoy the wet.
Speaker 4 (50:15):
Yeah, take a break, all right, we'll be back.
Speaker 5 (50:18):
This is the LTN hour.
Speaker 13 (50:20):

Speaker 5 (51:54):
No, welcome back to the LTN Hour. We are in
the final home stretch of the show. Here I got
my husband Toby sitting in the car with me as
we were in a rain delay.
Speaker 7 (52:08):
Here, I got to ask about the ninety one car.
What a beautiful looking vehicle that is out on the
racetrack now. And that is not how that car left Wisconsin? Correct?
That became a yellow car down to Pensacola.
Speaker 5 (52:20):
It sure did in the pits Travis dassou before it rained,
I assumed. Yeah, he came down and he put the
rap on. Tob How long did it take Travis to
wrap that car? A couple hours and it was windy.
I just am, it was cold, windy, and he managed
to get that thing put on there.
Speaker 3 (52:40):
It looks great, guy, do it?
Speaker 6 (52:42):
People wondering what's going on and then thinking you're doing
some kind of speech your good thing, and also in
the car.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
So I think you're doing something funny when you're putting
the rap on.
Speaker 6 (52:50):
I mean, did they know something? Just kind of surprising
on them though, just kid, we.
Speaker 17 (52:54):
We were messing with some stuff and they threw it
all before we even got to race it.
Speaker 7 (52:58):
So so Toby does that? Does that screw Toby up
when the car's out on the track. I mean, you're
not used to looking at a lime green car out there.
Speaker 5 (53:07):
Br No, does that mess you up looking at the
Probably not because he worked with Charlie Minard back in
the day and that's what it looked like.
Speaker 17 (53:14):
You can't miss that. I'll say that much for it.
Speaker 3 (53:18):
It does stick out, that's for sure.
Speaker 5 (53:19):
But yeah, it is kind of a flashback for Tobe
because back in like two thousand and three, two thousand
and five or so, Toby was working with Charlie Minard
doing the super light stuff. He's actually down here, although
I think those are the years that Charlie had the
blue car with the Minards splashed Neon colors. But it
was yellow like that too, Okay, So yeah, that's it's
(53:40):
a similar pattern or paint scheme.
Speaker 3 (53:43):
If it's not really paint.
Speaker 4 (53:44):
There would be a fun thing if I started winning
for Minards and John Minard got all excited and went
to Roger Penske and said, I think I want to
put this this kid into the number two car and
we'll make it before the full time Manard's car. I
think that would be awesome.
Speaker 3 (54:04):
That would be something that would be so maybe that's
a coloring book.
Speaker 6 (54:09):
Just coming from Toad. And we were walking in Vegas,
but Travis Cloppole was driving to seventy seven. He told
Roger Penske had a good guy and in seventy seven,
I remember that I did that suggest It didn't go
very far, but we tried.
Speaker 4 (54:20):
No, no, yeah, we gave it a shot.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
God bless you, Todd.
Speaker 5 (54:24):
I love that you're going to bat for everybody all
the time.
Speaker 4 (54:26):
There you go. I'm much cheese ed. What can I
tell you?
Speaker 3 (54:29):
Good stuff? Good stuff?
Speaker 5 (54:30):
So tell us a little bit about the excursion you're
fixing to go on, Todd.
Speaker 4 (54:35):
If anybody has been watching Kenny Wallace lately, he does
his coffee with Kenny every morning and he you know,
this is this Saint Louis Dome race was really in
his wheelhouse. He really should have and would have race
there this week and is modified. But Kim is the
one that wanted to do this cruise and set it
(54:57):
up a couple of months ago, and she came on
his show and said if anybody wants to go along,
And I started doing the math and I thought, geez,
I'm going to be in Florida anyway, visiting my son
who lives down here. Maybe if I just hung around
for a week, I could take the cruise. So that's
what we did. And we took a train from Tampa
to here in Miami yesterday and did it overnight and
(55:21):
getting ready for the bus right now to take us
to the cruise. And I don't know, and I assume
I'm going to run into him on there. I didn't
do it through his fan club. It was much cheaper
doing it on my own. Don't tell him though, he'll
probably piss him off.
Speaker 7 (55:39):
Guy, maybe on the twenty first for our show on
the twenty first, Kenny, and you can come on here
and give us a cruise wrap up show or something.
Speaker 4 (55:47):
That's a Monday the twentieth. We get back on the
Oh wait a minute, the twenty first.
Speaker 7 (55:51):
Yeah, you get back on the fourteenth. But the week
after we'll give you a week's rest and take some
notes and then you know, see if you can talk
to Ted Kenny and we could do a little wrap up.
Speaker 4 (55:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (55:59):
See, if you can't get him on the show tat.
Speaker 4 (56:01):
I will most definitely do that because I'm sure he'll
want me on his coffee with Kenny not. We'll find
that out. He's going to do it from the ship.
I guess he's going to record it so or something.
Speaker 3 (56:16):
I'll give you a Nicolas. You walk in the background
and wave at the camera.
Speaker 4 (56:19):
With a LTN shirt on?
Speaker 6 (56:21):
Right, Absolutely, where were you on? Was it here in Wisconsin?
Speaker 4 (56:26):
He was on?
Speaker 6 (56:26):
Was it on Twitter? So he did the thing with
you when he bought Matt the Bratt that time.
Speaker 4 (56:30):
Yeah, he remembered that. I'm the one that started calling
Matt Kenseth Matt the Bratt. So he actually had me.
I don't know what that was. It was like a
don't you get twenty seconds or you used to get
twenty seconds or something like that of a post. Anyway,
he had me on when he came to the Milwaukee
mile one time. Yeah, you know, we'll see I hope
(56:51):
he remembers me.
Speaker 3 (56:54):
I'm sure he will.
Speaker 4 (56:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (56:56):
A couple of years ago when we were at one
forty one, we walked into his trailer and he knew
right away who you were.
Speaker 4 (57:00):
Oh yeah you did. Okay. You could hear him laughing
in there the whole Pitts could hear him laughing in there.
This is going to be a good time.
Speaker 7 (57:08):
All right, one minute til clothes. Who's winning the snowball? Everybody?
Speaker 3 (57:12):
I'm taking Majeski.
Speaker 7 (57:14):
Oh boy, it's hard not to pick him, but I
don't want to jink him.
Speaker 4 (57:19):
Yeah, I didn't even think about that.
Speaker 5 (57:22):
It is.
Speaker 4 (57:23):
It's not going to be Nasty either, Jesus.
Speaker 5 (57:26):
I'll take Nasty out. He just doesn't qualify well, but
he sure does race well here.
Speaker 4 (57:32):
All right, I'll take Preston Peltier.
Speaker 6 (57:33):
What the hell, Dan, I'm gonna go with Majeski. I
know Poler doesn't want it. Nasty doesn't want to because
they' run into each other a couple of pints there
and taking each other out.
Speaker 4 (57:42):
But uh, here's last one. He's got to win this one.
Speaker 7 (57:46):
Yeah, I mean, I want Ti to win it, but
I'm not going to jink him and take it. So
I will pick Casey Roderick. Oh, it's got to start
twenty third. But it's a long race.
Speaker 5 (57:55):
It is a long race if we ever get the
damn thing started, which we will so Yeah, as Toby
said from the driver's meeting, they're going to try their
damnedest to get it in.
Speaker 3 (58:04):
Today.
Speaker 5 (58:05):
We do allegedly have a break in the rain that
should be coming our way sometime around twelve thirty. But
it's just going to take some time to get this
track drive because it is saturated here with moisture.
Speaker 4 (58:18):
Bears at three, I.
Speaker 6 (58:20):
Think you bring a third Tom Dawson Trophy up here.
We got to build a case right now. We're on
a shelf. But you bring a third up here, We've
gotta get a case.
Speaker 3 (58:28):
That's a good question. He's asleep now, Otherwise i'd ask.
Speaker 5 (58:31):
Him, Oh jeez, he's poor guy's been running nine What
do you want to all?
Speaker 3 (58:37):
They want to know if you get the third trophy
bring it home? Are you going to get a case?
Speaker 1 (58:42):
We'll get a couple of them.
Speaker 5 (58:45):
Well, all right, then, oh my goodness, we're out.
Speaker 4 (58:53):
Go ahead, I got I got a bust to catch you.
Take them out. Well, I wanted you to here.
Speaker 3 (58:58):
I wanted you to scream.
Speaker 5 (59:00):
Really all right.
Speaker 3 (59:02):
We'll be back next Sunday.
