four one four four two one seventy nine oh one.
And now the creator and host of the fastest hour
in radio, Todd the Bailing Or we might.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Be in the great off season.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
However, there's things happening right now. This is our sixth
annual PJ at the Snowball program, which we're going to
talk to PJ in just a couple of minutes. However,
we will begin today's with our friend and new sports
director at CBS fifty eight in Milwaukee, Lance Allen, who,
(01:10):
by the way, can also be heard right here on
ninety seven point three the Game and the Badgers Radio Network.
And iHeart and leave lear Field And that makes you
one of our radio teammates. Lance, Welcome.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
I need you as my hype man, Todd.
Speaker 5 (01:25):
That was like one of the best intros and best
promotional hits I think I've ever had.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Thank you, I left to part out and two time
Wisconsin Sportscaster of the Year. It's first of all, for
the racing community. We are all extremely relieved that you
did not find some job out of our market and
take all your racing with you. We still are going
(01:52):
to have a voice on Milwaukee television and it's a
great relief to all of us.
Speaker 5 (01:57):
I appreciate that, you know, it's a passion of mine
with my dad racing and kind of being in the
culture for years. Brian, you've seen me at events. I've
been at events with you obviously and things like that.
So no, and you guys, and I can throw the
bouquet back at you. Now, this is unusual, Brian, as
you well know, because usually Todd's like ripping me and
I'm ripping him. So I'm afraid I'm getting set up
(02:18):
here for something I don't know. But but no, you're
only as good as the relationships you build. You're only
as good as like your friends, and you know, and
you have to listen to people. And my philosophy, as
you guys well know, gentlemen, is even if you don't
know a lot about a certain sport, whether it's racing
or soccer or or whatever it may be. You would
(02:40):
be a fool not to do the good stories that
are in And I'll just say this and here's my
one promotional moment is at CBS fifty eight. The branding
and the marketing is in the philosophy and you know
it's in my fiber is your hometown station and hometown sports.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Well what as hometown sports means?
Speaker 5 (02:58):
It means if they're there's something going on at Milwaukee Mile,
if there's something going on at Road America, if there's
something going on at Slinger Brian, you and I know
all the we've been at Plymouth and we've been at
certain short tracks around the area. Like, you can't always
be all things to all people, but you definitely need
to tell the stories whoever it may be, of great
(03:20):
stories that we've told over the years and that will continue.
And that's that's what warms my heart as well.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
Now, without getting into a whole lot of specifics, I
know that you were told at your previous employer that
they really thought you did a little too much racing
and you were actually told to cut back on it, right.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
Yeah, that I mean, sometimes there are places that obviously
they have certain things, certain wants, needs, desires, things like that,
and you have to abide by that. But you know,
as you guys know, I'm passionate about local things. I
think things change, and Brian, you've been really good about
and you know, keeping me in the loop on hey,
(04:05):
just watch out for this. There's a story here. Things
like that to me, you know, like now, and it's
been this way for years. Is Sports Center, they'll or
ESPN or national brands, they'll show this, that and the
other thing. But they you know, what can you do
to differentiate yourself better than anybody else? And it's to
(04:27):
tell local stories. That includes you know, whether it's Packers, Badger's, Brewers, Bucks, Marquette,
but it also includes racing, and it includes high school sports,
and it includes local colleges.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
And you know when when people say, hey, you.
Speaker 5 (04:40):
Know, we don't really watch you a lot because we
watch all these national brands, and I go, that's great.
You know, it's like flavors of ice cream. Everybody likes
what they like, But what are those national brands doing.
That's you know, in your backyard. You're doing a story
on your neighbor or your family member, or your friend
or somebody that needs some spotlight, and that's what we
need to do.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
You know, I watched your previous employer because you were
on there, and it's going to be real easy to
make the switch over to CBS fifty eight. The hometown
thing is not just you know, just a model they
go by. They really believe it over there.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
Right, absolutely, absolutely no, And I've people have been genuinely
kind Todd to say, we're making the switch and that's
the goal. That's the thing is is we're on the upswing.
I'm proud to be on the CBS fifty eight team.
And I've never I just had this conversation with somebody
yesterday that people, you know, being here twenty eight years
and being on air for thirty two and then living
(05:38):
in the state my entire life, people have been more
than generous about literally inviting you into their homes and
you become family, You become part of the fabric of
Wisconsin or part of their lives. And there are some
things that sometimes you got to recheck yourself and say, Okay,
I took that forget. That is one thing I never
(05:58):
took for granted, because people more than ever have more
choices than ever, Like look at just the radio landscape, streaming, podcast, television,
you know, just all the different options you have. You know,
for example, you could be listening to Serious XM instead of.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
This program right now.
Speaker 5 (06:17):
I wouldn't advocate it, but you know you could so,
but you know what I mean, Like, I just I
just never took that for granted that you literally become
part of people's families and you become part of their
group if you earn over their trust and you build
a relationship, and.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
Sometimes that includes tough conversations you guys.
Speaker 5 (06:38):
Know, Like there were times where people would come up
to me and be like, you need to do more racing,
And I'm like, I honestly feel the same way. And
I have an ear for if somebody comes up to
me and says it has an unpleasant conversation, Let's have
an honest conversation, because sometimes we can be better. We're
only as good as our listeners and our viewers. So
(06:58):
I'm here to listen.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
You know, for all the things that you have done
in all sorts of sports, being in the position you've
been over the years, I have a favorite moment that
I can tell you right now, and it's probably your
favorite moment of your career, a.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Huge just blooper or something like that, Todd.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
When Brett Farv walked back onto the field and you
walked with them to that packed house and there was
no football game, that was one of the coolest things
I've ever seen in my life. And just the fact
that you walked out there with him and were able
to interview them on that field was something something I'll
(07:38):
never forget.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
So it's one of those moments that you know, you
have dreams, goals, aspirations, like you guys know, you know,
I've been to the Indy five hundred. The first time
I went there was incredible Super Bowls, Rose Bulls, Final Fours,
and then there's stuff that you never even it's not
a goal, it's not a dream, you never even think
about it. And I'm telling you, Todd still get almost
(08:00):
like goosebumps to this day. Sixty six thousand in the
stadium pretty much a packed house. It's not an exaggeration.
It was on Packers dot Com, it was on an
NFL network literally, and you know, relative my relatives in England,
we're watching it. Literally, millions around the world, or at
least around part of the world we're watching and in
those In those moments, I'll just say, Todd, in those moments,
(08:24):
you don't want to hit the turn four wall as
you're coming in for the checkered flag. Let's just say
I made sure I didn't screw things up. And because
it's a moment that we'll live on, and you still
pinch yourself and go, how is I even in that moment?
And it's two people that everybody's listening to for twenty
minutes literally do like a live interview, and it's one
of my career highlights.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Incredible.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Yeah, I believe it, and it's it's such a relief
to the racing community for all you have done for it.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
I mean, here's a guy.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Who went from that spot in the universe, and it
will be found in the stands at Slinger Speedway on
a Sunday night to watch the.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
Race and the announcer and the PA announcer will literally
spot him in the crowd and give him a shout out.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
I can't even believe that.
Speaker 5 (09:07):
But he also kind of hazes him and teases him
a little too, which I probably deserve.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
But it's a good thing.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
The crowd loves you, man, and you know it, and
you deserve it and we're very relieved your back. Hey,
thanks for you know, staying out of church on a
Sunday morning just to talk to us.
Speaker 5 (09:23):
Well, I was in service and I ducked out for
a little bit, so I guess I'll have to repent
of that. But keep feeding me those racing stories. And
you know, you guys know you'll see me at a
track and you'll see me around and see me locally
at some place.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
So come up and say hi.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
There you go, Lance Allen a part of the fabric
on the community. I'm racing in the Milwaukee area. We're
gonna see him for a long time. Great stuff to
have you on.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Lance.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
We're gonna sneak away for our first break and then
we're gonna come back with PJ at the snowball right
after these.
Speaker 6 (09:55):

is what put them on the map on the corner

Speaker 7 (10:45):
That's Miller's sales and service.
Speaker 3 (10:47):

Speaker 3 (12:00):

at the bid here, starting with Brian Schmidt and Ousburg

Speaker 13 (12:09):

coverage that Flow of Sports has done with this.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Can't wait to watch it this afternoon. I would agree
with that.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
Dan Margetta of Saint Francis, Wisconsin.
Speaker 14 (12:21):
Yeah, good, morning in Snowball time.
Speaker 15 (12:22):
It means one thing.
Speaker 14 (12:23):
We got our live Corsepond PJ Donner, and I can't
wait to hear what she's got set for us.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
And PJ Neodleman of Trumpolo, Wisconsin, although right now she's
in Pensacola, Florida.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Welcome, PJ.
Speaker 16 (12:35):
Thank you.
Speaker 17 (12:35):
I couldn't help but notice that Lance Allen is now
at CBS fifty eight and this is the fifty.
Speaker 16 (12:41):
Eighth running of the Snowball Derby.
Speaker 15 (12:42):
How about that?
Speaker 2 (12:43):
I love it.
Speaker 16 (12:45):
Numbers numbers, numbers.
Speaker 17 (12:47):
So yeah, Ty just got through pre race tech and
he's doing a few photos here.
Speaker 16 (12:52):
I'm just gonna grab quick word with him.
Speaker 17 (12:53):
Ty, you have had an incredible past week really with
the big Ley win and then now you are on
the polls the Snowball Derby. Talk a little bit about
the advantages of being starting up front and kind of
what that might mean for your strategy in the race.
Speaker 18 (13:07):
Well, the people that qualify up front, we'll say track
position is important. The guys there in the back would
be like, that's a long race, doesn't matter. So I
think track position today, you know, might mean a little
bit more than.
Speaker 19 (13:17):
Years past, just because of this tire.
Speaker 18 (13:19):
Didn't see a lot of fall off last night, and
now I think Nasty's fastest lap was like on lap
sixty four or sixty.
Speaker 19 (13:25):
Five, and it's kind of unheard of here at Pensacola.
Speaker 18 (13:28):
So yeah, it you know, it kind of remains to
be seen on exactly what will happen today. We'll transpires
fire as far as wear and fall off, but regardless,
it's gonna take a good balance race car to win,
and things are gonna have to go your way. So
hopefully all the cautions fall kind of suit to our
race car and its strengths and hopefully plays our way.
Speaker 17 (13:46):
Tonight, you got Mike Herman Junior once again in your
ear as a spot or what does that mean for
your game when you have him there?
Speaker 18 (13:52):
Well, he's just so experienced, you know, not only with
this race, but just you know, he's got a really
high racing IQ. So it's good to have a guy
in the in the spoderstand that that has that kind
of knowledge and that can help us throw different situations
and different scenarios throughout the race and help us make
the right decision.
Speaker 15 (14:08):
So yeah, good to have him.
Speaker 20 (14:10):
He's a great spotter.
Speaker 18 (14:11):
But like I said, as wealth of knowledge is probably
an even bigger asset.
Speaker 17 (14:15):
Knowing that anything can happen, but also knowing that you've
got a good piece here. What do you think your
odds are of getting that third snowball win?
Speaker 18 (14:23):
Well, it's it's hard to win these let alone, you know,
two in a row, and win three of them. It's
not easy. So I like our chances today, I really do.
I think this is probably the best long run car
that we've had here, maybe lacks a little bit of
speed in the short run. So like I said, the
race has to go your way. You can't ever be
fast enough to win this race. So, like I said,
(14:46):
if our car is good on the long run, hopefully
we end with a long run and if not, the
gloves let to come off at the end like.
Speaker 20 (14:51):
It did last year. So you just never know what
can happen.
Speaker 18 (14:53):
You just got to be in position, and you're in position,
you never know what can happen.
Speaker 16 (14:57):
Good luck to you, Thank you Tima Jeski.
Speaker 17 (14:59):
He's real off P one today after setting fast time
in that qualifying effort, it's going to become touch and
go here to grab people for an interview simply because
they are going through pre race tech right now, that's fine.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
I did want to ask you a question.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
There's been lots and lots spoken written about this week
about just the cost of running this race. It's a
fifty thousand to win race. And by the way, that
number was doubled from twenty five by the folks at
Flow Racing, who are the ones that are televising today,
So that's amazing right there. It's twenty five hundred to
(15:38):
start and fifty thousand to win. I don't know if
there's any other incentives, but it's not like it's a
cheap ride to get there, is it.
Speaker 16 (15:45):
Pj oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
No.
Speaker 17 (15:48):
And just because I have obviously personal knowledge, being that
I'm married to the crew chief there, tire bill for
them and they were being conservative with what they did
with tires. They ended up spending about nine grand on tires,
but there are teams here who have spent sixteen thousand
or more on tires alone. There's a lot of guys
(16:09):
that were putting on fresh tires just to try to
lay down a fast lap. And I mean, I know
I know enough about my husband that he's not to
Toby's not about wasting a lot of money. Because he
knows that they do race on a budget. And he's
one that's even since his days with Steve Holshausen. He
would try to get that car dialed in in race
trim because you got to know how it's going to
(16:31):
last in the.
Speaker 16 (16:31):
Long run, right, And that's what he spends a lot doing.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
Yeah, and still and still a nine grand good for
those who are, you know, being conservative with tires. You
got to be ready to spend nine grand, you know.
Casey Johnson told me it was going to be six grand,
and they I don't think they bought any spare tires.
Speaker 16 (16:50):
They might not have.
Speaker 17 (16:50):
Well, if the race is a twelve no sixteen tire race,
because you start with four in the car and you
got three lane, is that correct?
Speaker 20 (16:58):
Tobe sucks twelve tires land.
Speaker 19 (17:03):
Wow?
Speaker 17 (17:03):
So I just want to ask Tobe since I've got
him here, if that's all right. So you guys do
kind of do this on a budget despite people talking
about it being big money.
Speaker 21 (17:14):
Yeah, we we try to. I mean it's it's a
hard deal. You fight between the tire. The tire fall
off is so fast, you know, to make sure you
got it right. Qualifying you gotta you know, We probably
went through five or six sets just to qualify.
Speaker 17 (17:30):
Who do you think is going to be your biggest
competition here today for time?
Speaker 21 (17:34):
Probably the Donnie Wilson cars. May you know, maybe Boba
if he hits it. Uh, Steven Nasty will be good.
I mean Butcher Cole, but Wilson cars, Butcher and Chandler Smith.
Speaker 15 (17:47):
I think they'll be They'll be pretty good.
Speaker 16 (17:50):
Real quickly, yeah, real quickly.
Speaker 13 (17:52):
While you have Toby there any concerned about the track today?
I mean he saw, we saw you guys had an
issue with the car during practice and the last night
they to stop because of potholes. I mean it looks
like a street in our community here.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
The pothole crows.
Speaker 16 (18:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 17 (18:06):
The deal that you guys had with the track coming
up and punching a hole in the nose, and now
track came up again last night.
Speaker 16 (18:11):
Are you guys concerned about that?
Speaker 21 (18:13):
Well, we built it a lot stiffer this time, so hopefully.
Speaker 16 (18:16):
Not heard it here, Toby Nudleman. Stiffer than ever.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
God, it's really good when we're talking about suspension. Yeah,
that's a real issue. PJ took some pictures of the
track and the patch job they did on and last night,
and I think Dan is posting them on our Facebook
page right now. It's obviously a pretty major issue, and
(18:43):
they keep saying, Oh, it's so great that they haven't
repaid this track because it's got all this character and
it makes you, you know, work around your tires and
all that. Yeah, but if the track is coming apart,
it might be time to actually repave that place.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Can you imagine at that point.
Speaker 13 (18:59):
I don't know if you could like repay the entire thing,
because it'll probably be so quick that the cars might
rock it right out of the place. I've heard that
before from other people. But you know, it's probably time
to cut. You can do cutting patches on some of
those spots, you know, so that at the area that's
coming apart, you could put a square patch there so
that you know, if you do an entire groove, that's
where everybody's gonna sit. But you've seen a lot of
these tracks where they do smaller patches and you're still
(19:21):
able to keep the character of it, guess, and that's
probably what they're gonna have to do in the future.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
All right, So let's take this opportunity to sneak away
Pj's at the Snowball. She's gonna go talk to a
few other drivers here during this program. We're glad you're
tuned in here on the Big nine twenty we return
right up to these.
Speaker 22 (19:39):

track champion at the Madison International Speedway.
Speaker 17 (22:16):
Well, I had Travis Quopple, He's pushing the car forward,
but right now I have his son, Kate and Quopple
had to run that last chance last night.
Speaker 16 (22:23):
But boy, you made it look good.
Speaker 20 (22:25):
Yeah, we were okay.
Speaker 25 (22:26):
I wish we could have qualified, and I feel like
I just didn't really drive it all the way how
it needed to be and and ELSIEQ we kind of
struggled with the handling. I feel like track changed a
lot that we weren't expecting, but we were able to
ge him at the end. So it's really cool to
be able to get in the show for the second
year in a row, me and Carson both, so I'm
looking forward to it long race, so we'll see.
Speaker 17 (22:43):
So how is that for you when you know that
you got to get in there and you kind of
had to to give a little love tap to get
around that guy.
Speaker 16 (22:51):
How did that feel?
Speaker 25 (22:52):
Yeah, I knew there's only a couple to go, and
I thought I was definitely faster, and I just kept
messing up when I get to him, So I knew
I had to get to him and try to get
a Once I got buy him, and that's kind of
a chance that I had right there, and I know
I had to take in try to get away real quick.
So once we got buy him, I feel like we
were clean air and we were pretty fast.
Speaker 19 (23:08):
We were like saintsps everyone else.
Speaker 25 (23:10):
So I feel you I was just kind of holding
myself back being behind him, and once I got clear,
I felt we were really good.
Speaker 17 (23:15):
You spent a lot of time trying different different ways
around the track to try to figure out what's working
best for your car.
Speaker 25 (23:20):
Yeah, we did a little bit in three and four,
one and two. It's pretty Uh, you's got to stay
on the line the whole time. So that's kind of straightforward.
But three and four were just a little snug, so uh,
trying to move around a little bit, try getting on
the line to get it to turn, try main in
a big arc. So we just had to work a
little bit around the car how I was handling, and Uh,
once we were able to get clean track, I thought
you were pretty good.
Speaker 16 (23:39):
What are your plans for the twenty twenty five season?
Speaker 25 (23:41):
Run a little bit of everything. We have a pro
car that will probably run a little bit. We have
the thirty two Super that will run some more. He
has a laymouth stock as well Archie does, so we'll
probably end up running a little bit of everything. It'll
be fun, though we'll have a lot of races and
a lot of a lot of work to do.
Speaker 17 (23:55):
I feel like good luck to you today at your
dad here, Travis. Is kind of exciting for you to
have both Your boy was getting into the Snowball Derby.
So many things probably are so different from back when
you were behind the wheel, right, Yeah.
Speaker 19 (24:07):
Like touch on what you said first.
Speaker 26 (24:08):
There is really a proud dad moment for sure to
have both my sons and the derby. We don't get
down to five flags much to race and you're coming
you compete against the best of the best. You don't
have much of a notebook. The boys don't have much
laps here, so it was a big challenge for us.
Speaker 20 (24:25):
But I'm proud of them.
Speaker 26 (24:26):
Probably the effort of all both teams, and just excited.
You know, I don't think we have winning cars. I
think Carson's got a pretty solid car. I think he
can be a contender in the top ten, and you
never know where it goes from there with good adjustments.
Haven't seemed to really just hit it with Kateen yet,
but we're close and same same thing there. We hit
the right adjustments and maybe things will go our way.
Speaker 16 (24:47):
Well, at the end of the day, you just got
to be in position.
Speaker 19 (24:49):
Right for sure.
Speaker 26 (24:52):
Kate did a good job last night executing mission one,
was getting in the race. I thought we had a
pretty solid car there. Tires were bit of a question mark.
This week we would gain Stagger, we'd lose Tagger, and
last night, you know, Stigger really closed up on us.
Speaker 15 (25:06):
In the future.
Speaker 26 (25:07):
There the last chance, so it's kind of a gamble
going into today and you take your best guess. But
really proud of everybody's effort. It's great to be down here.
It's great to being the seventy degree son and looking
forward today's race.
Speaker 16 (25:19):
Good luck to you.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Yeah, thank you so much.
Speaker 15 (25:20):
And hi everybody back in Wisconsin.
Speaker 17 (25:22):
Back home, I should note you're wearing your Wears Machine sweat.
Speaker 26 (25:25):
Chad has been such a supporter of myself back when
I race and now my boys. He said, we got
a lifetime contract, so I hope I'm doing them proud.
Speaker 16 (25:32):
I think you are. I think you are. Good luck.
Speaker 17 (25:35):
Yeah, there's a lot of guys that are actually supporting
that Wears Machine.
Speaker 16 (25:38):
I know that Ty does as well too.
Speaker 17 (25:41):
Pretty much anybody from Wisconsin or anybody who's worth their
selt has got some Wears Machine gear on their car.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Travis one of the genuinely good guys in this sport.
He's just in the hell of a driver too. And
that number thirty five card Madison back and he was
nineteen when he won his championship back at Madison.
Speaker 16 (26:03):
Imagine that young boy grown into it.
Speaker 17 (26:07):
Man, it's got to be so cool, though, to have
your kids, both of them running basically the super Bowl
if you will, of short track racing.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
And try to go moving up in the world. Too.
Speaker 17 (26:18):
Go ahead, Well, I was just going to say that
it's hard enough to get one car and let alone too,
and they're not really running both of them out of
the same garage, so you got a whole lot of
moving parts for both of them here today.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
Kidding now, if it sounds as though PJ is running
right now, she actually is running up and down Pitt Road.
And she had talked to a couple of drivers before
the program and making sure they would be available to talk,
so you know, in between while she's running, you might
hear a little huffing and puffing going on there, but
(26:55):
she's the hardest working woman on Pitt Road right now,
I'm gonna guess.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
So there you have that, and it is.
Speaker 14 (27:04):
A big deal down there. I mean, to make that
race it's hard. I mean, the qualifying is intense. Did
you see the Dartfish program that had from first tiber
Jeski first and Noah Gregson in thirtieth and how close
that was just to get in.
Speaker 19 (27:15):
I mean, it's it's tough to get in that race.
Speaker 14 (27:17):
And they have the both Quapple kids get in at
that's pretty cool.
Speaker 7 (27:20):
And if anybody knows how tough.
Speaker 14 (27:22):
It is, it's PJ because she gets to see the firsthand, right, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
No kidding.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
She sounds to me like she's in the middle of
a something right there. So I was just.
Speaker 17 (27:34):
Trying to grab David Gillillen, but he's not by his
car yet, So instead I'll go back and grab mister
Derek Thorne.
Speaker 16 (27:40):
I'm sure he'll be willing.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
Yes, Derek is uh.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
And then he's in the Shaper car right, he is
Paul's car and a veteran of Slinger Nationals in that year.
Speaker 17 (27:53):
Actually, he's gonna do something with the snowball therevery people first,
of course, that's they've got all these snowball heads and
they're going to do a picture of They're all putting
on these snowman heads crying out loud. No, I've never
seen this before either, but yeah, there's a group of
people that are all putting on snowman heads and doing
(28:14):
a picture with Derek Thorn.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Beautiful.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Hey, Freddy Query is the tech inspector down there, right,
I thought is didn't Is that a changing of the guard.
Speaker 17 (28:26):
No, he's uh, he's been a big part of it.
Ricky Brooks has not been a part of this for
several years now, Ricky did. Ricky did the race down
at uh at the Freedom Factory.
Speaker 16 (28:39):
That was a ua ra a race. That's his. So yeah,
there was a.
Speaker 17 (28:43):
Bit of a falling out between Tim Bryant and and
Ricky Brooks for whatever reason, I don't know. Politics always
seems to get into it. So no, Ricky's not affiliated
here anymore. Freddy Query has been the tech guy here
now for quite a while, probably the last two three years.
Speaker 16 (28:58):
Anyway.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Yeah, I ever went to the damn race. I know
these things, you know.
Speaker 17 (29:02):
Dude, this is really really weird with these snowman heads.
It's like those furries, you know, those fetish people that
wear the furry animal suits.
Speaker 16 (29:13):
It's kind of like that. But I don't know us.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
I'm gonna I'll defer to you, I guess, but.
Speaker 17 (29:22):
I will say that most of them have a beer
in their hands, so they're obviously fun loving people.
Speaker 16 (29:26):
That's for sure.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
Kind of early for that, isn't it not down here?
Speaker 16 (29:31):
No, that's what we want here, all right, you gotta
go to brick we'll come.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
PJ will be back with whoever she can grab the
next time you hear.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 7 (29:42):
Hey, Matthew, give me a hand with this tree.
Speaker 8 (29:45):
Yeah, let's get a real tree this year.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
Hey, leave that fake tree in the box under the
basement steps this year. Get a real tree from PMF
Landscape on River Road in westpend any kind of real
tree imaginable up to eighteen feet. A huge assortment of
Chris decorations, including wreaths and three sizes, cemetery wreaths, festive
global hanging ornaments, bows, garland, roping and more. Stopped in

and check everything out. How about a PMF gift certificate
the perfect gift. PMF Landscape Supply fifty four to seventy

Speaker 10 (30:23):
Yeah, our trade from PMF Landscape looks great.
Speaker 6 (30:27):

twenty and your iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
AP Welcome back to well TN.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
It's our I think sixth annual PJ at the snowball program.
She goes down there and talks to several drivers and
I didn't find out if she Oh, yes, she does
have Derek Thorn there.
Speaker 16 (31:32):
I do have Derek Thorn. He's signing some autographs.
Speaker 17 (31:35):
He's a fan favorite for sure, not just for I'm
miserating with, but to probably win today as well. To
Derek Thorn, what would it mean to you to get
number two under your belt here?
Speaker 18 (31:44):
As it would be nice, But we got three in
her laps sending between us and that, so we'll just
try to take you one lap at a time and
try to execute the best we can. It's been a
long week, but car's been solid the whole weekend. To
have Shafer Motor Sports and Paul and Pauli Schaeffer and
Chris Perdy and the guys on this crew that have busted.
Speaker 15 (31:59):
Their bucks all week. So for them, you know, we.
Speaker 18 (32:02):
Want to stay in one piece, but at the same time,
we obviously don't want to compete for a win, but
there's a long ways to go to get there.
Speaker 16 (32:06):
How do you feel about the tires?
Speaker 17 (32:07):
Are you feeling like they're reliable, they're wearing well enough.
Are you having any concern at all about those?
Speaker 18 (32:13):
Yeah, I think there is you know, I know they
weren't made too long ago, so there's gonna be some
variables there. But the strength of the tire I don't
question that, so I don't think we'll have the same
blistering issues we saw here in September. But the tire
itself had great speed. The fall off too, it's a
little unique. The way it tries, the way it falls
off is unique to what we've had in the past.
Speaker 15 (32:30):
So the end of the day, we're all kind of
in the same boat.
Speaker 18 (32:33):
So you're just gonna have to adjust accordingly and hopefully
your cars, you know, there's gonna be cars coming and cars,
cars riseing and falling on on the leader board. But
at the end of the day, we know we all
have plenty of laps to adjust. We got three set
of tires and the pits to put on, so there'll
be plenty of variables just and that alone.
Speaker 19 (32:47):
So we'll just have to make the most of each
opportunity we.
Speaker 15 (32:49):
Get for tires and then try to adjust for it.
Speaker 17 (32:51):
They say luck is a big part of winning this
race as well too. Oh yeah, and are you concerned
at all about the track? I mean, that's two days
in a row. Now, if they've had some issues with
a coming, you.
Speaker 15 (33:00):
Know, just trying to I guess it's easy.
Speaker 18 (33:03):
I almost have to compartmentalize, right, There's only so many
things that you can control, so we try to worry
about things we can control. The luck part of it
is obviously a huge factor that you can't control, and
this racing takes a lot of it to be successful.
So we'll just have to kind of go with the
flow and hopefully that the stars line up for us
more so than the rest. But at the same time,
(33:23):
certain things we'll just kind of have to wait and
see how it plays out.
Speaker 16 (33:25):
You are a very even keeled guy.
Speaker 17 (33:27):
I don't hardly ever see you getting like overly emotional
and just really angry. Has that always been part of
your makeup or is that just come over the years.
Speaker 15 (33:35):
No, you cho have the helmet on it.
Speaker 18 (33:36):
It does cut oxygen off to the brain at times, right,
So behind the wheel things change, But I've learned in
racing I've never been a big planner, both in life
and or behind the wheel, because I feel like there's
so many different things that change that you just kind
of got to wing it more or less of times
and go with the flow and adjust in the moment,
you know, And in those moments are when you have
to make quick decisions and hopefully it's the right one.
Speaker 15 (33:56):
But at the same time you plan too much.
Speaker 18 (33:58):
It's obviously things change pretty quickly, so to have a
general plans one thing, But at the same time you
got to be able to think quick on your feet
and go with the flow.
Speaker 16 (34:06):
Flexible.
Speaker 17 (34:07):
So I don't want to put you on the spot
not you just talked about that planning, But what are
your plans for twenty twenty five been?
Speaker 18 (34:12):
You know, this season was great, had so many good teams.
We worked with, but still working on some details for
some things with some teams. But if you have to
really steal, get to sign the dotted line yet as
far as what the for sure plan is, but I
think there'll be some some racing still in the future.
Speaker 15 (34:26):
I hope got some great customers this year.
Speaker 18 (34:28):
I hope to work with next year as well, and
we'll just kind of have to wait and see how
the turn of the year, get through Christmas and how
the schedules line up and just go from there.
Speaker 16 (34:35):
You talk a little bit.
Speaker 17 (34:36):
About what you do for your business and kind of
how that factors into how your program works.
Speaker 15 (34:41):
Yeah, a lot of drivers you know, drive and obviously
have race teams.
Speaker 18 (34:43):
But I make my living working on them, right, repairing
them and then the bonus is getting to drive. But
back home, I have DTR which is Derek Thorne Racing,
and I have a i'd say from Adzy, you name it.
I try to be able to do it, from shock
servicing to chassis set up, to repairs to bodies, clips,
to your end work, front end work, geometry work. I
(35:04):
don't do engines, but I try to do everything else
on the race car. And Mike Keen, who is my
all Creachy from the Campbell Motorsports days. He and I
work together with customers out west as well to do
the development stuff, set up work consulting, but just try
to do whatever we can. If they call, I try
to If I can't do it, I try to send
them in the direction of somebody that can. But racing
is a tough business, you know. It's one hard to
make money consistently because a lot of things are always
(35:26):
moving and changing. But it's just one of those businesses
where the door it's always a swinging door, right, there's
a revolving door of drivers and.
Speaker 15 (35:32):
People, so sometimes it's hard to keep up with that.
Speaker 18 (35:33):
But just very very lucky to have been blessed with
a great group of people around me both you know,
the Shapers and back home with Mike and the old
Campbell days and stuff like that. So to have good
people around, use the strength of it to have good
customers as the next part. But just obviously it's a
performance based industry, so you've got to be fascinat the customers.
Speaker 17 (35:49):
Well, good luck to you today. You definitely do have
a good piece and a lot of fans are rooting
for you.
Speaker 15 (35:53):
I appreciate everybody out there watching.
Speaker 16 (35:55):
All right, good luck Derek Thorn.
Speaker 17 (35:56):
He is definitely going to be a force to contend
with here today.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
We have had a good run with that Pauli Schaeffer car,
haven't they for sure?
Speaker 16 (36:05):
For sure?
Speaker 17 (36:06):
Yeah, and then there was a Polly spotting over at
the Flora Bama earlier this week where he was letting
his locks flow and he was quite quite popular.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
I didn't realize that that's what Derek did for a
living on this Derek Thorne racing outfit that you know,
California does actually race out there. It's not like we
only hear about the eastern half of the country.
Speaker 16 (36:31):
Most exactly exactly.
Speaker 17 (36:33):
I hate interrupt, but I have David Gillen with me
right now. David, you this is like a home built car, right.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 27 (36:38):
It's something we're pretty proud of. We've been working on
a long time and we wanted to race it before
we came here to the Snowball Dirty biggest race of
the year, but kind of ran out of time. One
of those things always happens in racing, it seems like.
But yeah, I've had a great group of people that
have helped me build this. You know, Steve Lovett, just
a ton of really really good talented people, and we
(36:59):
used to race superate models, and we've had a lot
of ideas for a long time with stuff we've learned
over the years, so kind of wanted to put it
all into one piece and come out here and see
what it'll do.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
But I been happy with it so far.
Speaker 17 (37:10):
You obviously have a very varied career, done a lot
of different types of racing, and then of course your
son racing as well too, getting into the whole NASCAR
see try congarage big piece of that as well. What's
that like for you to balance work in that business
but then also getting back behind the wheel.
Speaker 27 (37:26):
Yeah, it's it's a tricky balance.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
You know.
Speaker 27 (37:28):
We have five truck teams that race full time every
week and Toyota has been an incredible partner and helped us,
helps us each and every week to accomplish those goals,
you know. But then you go to the racetrack and
my son races, you know, on the cup side, we're
racing trucks, and then come out here and try and
do this too. So it's a lot, but you know,
racing's all we've ever done, and I missed driving, So
(37:49):
that's kind.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Of why I've built this.
Speaker 27 (37:50):
I'd like to go maybe run a handful of races
a year, just kind of pick some big ones and
go and have fun. So I've had a lot of
fun this weekend for sure. Definitely don't have time to
do it full time with everything else we're doing. Obviously,
the truck deal is our priority, and you know, we
we've been close to the championship two years in a
row now and we've come up a little bit short.
So that's where my focus is trying and to get
(38:10):
that championship. But after that, we have any off weekends,
might try and go sneak out and play a little bit.
Speaker 17 (38:16):
I would love to see up at Slinger for the
Slinger Nationals. Is that something that might be on your radar?
Speaker 20 (38:20):
Little?
Speaker 27 (38:21):
Yeah, that's a race I've always wanted to go to.
And you know, I've been to a lot of racetracks
in my life, probably more than most. Obviously there's people
that have been to more, but that's one of them
that I haven't been to, and so it's on my list.
You know, I'd love to go there and and drive
one day, but if not, I'll for sure go to
watch at least, but no, it's definitely a race that
(38:41):
circled on our on our list. Just got to see
kind of how the all the schedules line up.
Speaker 16 (38:45):
Well, good luck to you.
Speaker 17 (38:46):
Definitely got a fast machine here, and it's obviously pretty
proud for you to know that it's your step.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 19 (38:51):
It's kind of neat for us, you know.
Speaker 27 (38:53):
I've just we build all our own truck chassis at
Trek on Garrock, duel our own bodies. I've just kind
of always prided myself on kind of doing our own
thing and not really just kind of following what everybody
else does. So hopefully that pays off today. I'm very
happy with it so far. Definitely know we can be
better coming back, but you know, I feel like we
have a shot today as good.
Speaker 15 (39:12):
As as anybody. That's a good feeling going into the
Snowball Derby.
Speaker 16 (39:15):
Good luck to you, thank you. That's David Gillen, guys.
He is ready to roll. It's got a fast piece
as well.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
Second generation of three generations of racing Gillilands. His dad
was Butch, his son as Todd, and they're all in

Speaker 1 (41:46):
And now the ltn OUR Presidents turn on the Dirt
with Brian Schmidt.
Speaker 13 (41:54):
Yes, there was one big dirt event this weekend going
ahead to head with a snowball derby. It was in
Saint Louis, Missouri, at the Dome at America Centers, the
eighth annuals Wonders. Yeah, that was on Flow to Flow.
Had the flow had the corner on the market this weekend,
I would say Thursday night they started off night number
one five thousand dollars win for the super late Models.
They divided the I believe it was one hundred and
sixty car field into two and Mike Spatola picked up
(42:17):
the win on the opening night. They also had the
modified's there is the undercard. Ricky Thornton Junior won the
three thousand dollars to win preliminary feature Thursday night. They
did it again Friday night with the other half of
the field five thousand dollars to win. Ricky Thornton Junior
hopped into his late Model and won that part, and
in the modifieds it was Trevor Neville one other race
this weekend in Brunswick, Georgia at Golden Aisle Speedway, the
Showdown on the Coast, twenty thousand dollars to win for
(42:38):
the six or four Great Late Models. That was last
night and Mark Whitner won that. That brings us to
the big Grand Finale last night in the Dome. They
had over thirty thousand tickets sold for that race last night.
I think that dome holds seventy thousand. You might not
get that many because they have to take out a
lot of the bottom of seats for the to put
the track in. But they think next year they're gonna
even top that. They could top forty next year for
(43:01):
that event. It's just amazing what this event has become
the big event. Thirty thousand dollars to win for the
Super Late Models, and Brandon Shepherd held off Bobby Pierce.
Great battle at the end on that little track. It
was actually very racy. I was surprised to see the
action as good as it was. Bobby Pierce finished second.
He actually broke I think he was going to maybe
throw a slider on him coming out of four, but
he broke the drive chaft coming out of there. Close
(43:23):
to the cross for second. Ricky Thornton Junior finished third
modified same thing ten thousand dollars to win. Another great
race there, and Trevor Neville picked up the win there.
The big news out of that race next year that
race will pay fifty thousand dollars to win for the
super late models. They have not announced what the modified
purse is going to be yet next year, but that
is going to increase as well minimum. He's increasing the
(43:43):
purse across the board by over one hundred and twenty
thousand dollars, so that's become quite an event something. When
they first did it eight years ago, I thought it
wasn't gonna work because Dan and I went to their
first prototype race in Indianapolis and that it works so good.
But this one is pretty spectacular and is everything I have.
Speaker 3 (43:59):
This week, Wallace posted on his website that a friend
of his won the fifty to fifty raffle at.
Speaker 2 (44:07):
Ninety thousand dollars in Sands.
Speaker 13 (44:10):
Yeah, not that it's quick, Like as soon as that
race was over, they were doing victory lane interviews. The
bacco and the loaders were out there and they got
to get that thing out of there. I think they
work through the night, that whole track comes out of there,
and probably by this afternoon they're mopping the floor. So
it's incredible how quickly that thing goes.
Speaker 3 (44:27):
Absolutely amazing. Thanks to our friend Paul Reikerd for sending
us results.
Speaker 2 (44:31):
Last week.
Speaker 3 (44:32):
Right down here in Arizona, we had the Turkey shoot
at Tucson Speedway. Kyle Reid was your winner down there.
Weston Malthowler, who is actually from Minnesota but drives for
Kelly Buyers, finished sixth in that one. The rest is
all snowball derby stuff starting Friday. In qualifying for the
(44:56):
Super Late Models, Time of Jesky, as you might have heard,
was fast qualifier. He turned a sixteen one seven five
for fast time. Willie so Willy was third, Sammy Smith sixth,
Derek Thorne seventh, Bubba Pollard eighth.
Speaker 2 (45:13):
Let's see Luke Fennhouses down there.
Speaker 3 (45:16):
He was eleventh, and yet he was fastest in last
practice yesterday. And then you heard a couple of the
other guys. Michael hin twenty fourth, and Noah Gregson is
down there too, by the way, was twenty eighth.
Speaker 16 (45:28):
I've we got him right here with me, do well.
Speaker 17 (45:31):
Isn't that perfect. Why don't you talk to him right now?
Speaking of right, I will, I will know. I know
it's been kind of an up and down weekend for
you so far. But how are you feeling about your
shot today to become a two time Snowball Derby winner.
Speaker 20 (45:42):
Yeah, we're I'm grateful to be in the race.
Speaker 28 (45:45):
It's always fun coming down to the Snowball Derby, and
it's a long week down here with testing. We tested
last Sunday, so been out here over a week and
we don't have the car exactly where we want it,
but you know, we're locked in the race. Just kind
of struggling through three and four with grip and mean
(46:08):
tight and kind of lack and drive, but overall super
excited for today. We're gonna keep working on it. I
know we're not gonna quit, so I'm not too sure
how it's gonna go. Last year we had a really
good car start a third and right of the top
four for most of the day. So with that being said,
(46:31):
I don't feel as confident as I did last year,
but hey, we're in it.
Speaker 19 (46:34):
We got a chance.
Speaker 16 (46:35):
What is that like for you?
Speaker 17 (46:36):
I mean, you're obviously running cup full time to be
able to get a super late model car dialed in
and ready to go. I mean that's kind of a
lot of dividing and conquering.
Speaker 28 (46:44):
Yeah, it's, uh, the first couple of laps, it's it's
always tough to just shake it, shake it out again
and knock the rust off.
Speaker 20 (46:51):
But I've been here, I feel like enough and.
Speaker 28 (46:56):
Have a pretty good plan on how I try to
attack the racetrack and where I want to position the
car and place the car.
Speaker 20 (47:01):
So with that being sad, it's it's not too bad to.
Speaker 28 (47:07):
You know, get in between the cup car and this
after running the cup car all year, but this is
my only super race all year, so.
Speaker 17 (47:13):
It's hard to pull it together though for one race,
all the people, all the moving parts.
Speaker 19 (47:17):
No, not really, it's pretty pretty calm.
Speaker 28 (47:20):
I mean it's it's drug out, but it's it's also
a lot of fun down here, so I enjoy it.
Speaker 17 (47:26):
You're one of the most colorful characters in racing, obviously,
and I have to tell you, pretty much everybody had laughed,
had a good laugh over the word dip dot when
you referred to Williams Wallis.
Speaker 16 (47:37):
Where do you come up with this stuff?
Speaker 19 (47:40):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (47:41):
It just.
Speaker 19 (47:43):
Seem fitting. I guess dip Dot.
Speaker 16 (47:46):
You actually are.
Speaker 17 (47:47):
You've been a really great social media guy for that.
I think you really sprung onto the scene with social
media when you did the wassabi thing that you do
you eat with Sabbi yet or No.
Speaker 19 (47:57):
No, I don't like horse radish and I don't like wasabi.
Speaker 28 (48:00):
So I like spicy foods, but just that type of spice.
I don't know if it's what a horsetratish, and it
was obviously like a route or something, so I don't
like whatever.
Speaker 19 (48:13):
That taste is not good to me.
Speaker 16 (48:16):
Definitely, not before you strap into a racecow.
Speaker 19 (48:19):
No, definitely not. Good luck to you today, Thank you,
I appreciate it.
Speaker 17 (48:23):
No, Gregson, he's been buzzing around the pits here on
a little Honda motorcycle.
Speaker 16 (48:27):
It's kind of funny actually, because he was cutting across
the pit road here.
Speaker 17 (48:32):
Bubba Pollard was also cutting back across to his pit
and if you can catch.
Speaker 3 (48:36):
Him, I'll tell you about the snowflake yesterday. That's the
late Model version one hundred lapper. It was last night.
Dylan Cappello was from on the pole for that one,
but in the race itself, it was Stephen nasty winning it.
Jeremy Miller was down there. Casey Johnson, the afore mentioned
Casey Johnson was down helping Jeremy Miller, but they did not.
(49:00):
I have a good time in that Snowflake race, finishing
twenty fifth, and so that's pretty much with that. Derek
Cross did make the trip down there, but just has
had nothing but bad luck and didn't make the show.
That's his own, that's their own family car. And I
get a feeling that if they're going to win some
races with that in that program, they're going to need
(49:20):
a new Chessis. Maybe they should go out and get
themselves a new Toby car.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
I don't know.
Speaker 16 (49:25):
Maybe this is Bubba Pollard here with me. I had
to laugh, Bob.
Speaker 17 (49:29):
I saw you and Noah Gregson cutting across the pits,
both of you on your little motorcycles, and Noah wrapped
it up, and you just looked over and you're like, whatever.
Speaker 19 (49:36):
Man, I ain't got that for him. I just got
to save all mine for the racetrack hopefully.
Speaker 29 (49:39):
But yeah, he's they got some souped up a little
pit bikes there.
Speaker 19 (49:43):
Somebody had to try to get me one.
Speaker 29 (49:44):
I'm like an elephant riding tricycle, But yeah, it's fun
hanging out with those guys.
Speaker 16 (49:49):
How are you feeling about today?
Speaker 17 (49:50):
I know everybody always wants to put the pressure on you,
but are you doing a good job just kind of
pushing it off and doing.
Speaker 16 (49:54):
Your own thing.
Speaker 29 (49:55):
I don't know, you know how it is. It's we
still got to outrun the same guys like ty. Uh,
you know them guys would be tough all weekend, uh today,
and you just gotta go out there and execute. I mean,
I feel like we just get to this race and
we don't make the right decisions sometimes, and that's what
it's all about, is being in the right place at
the right time. And we were there last year. Uh
(50:17):
it didn't work out. So we just go out to
day and do the best we can and if it happens,
it happens.
Speaker 19 (50:21):
If it don't, we'll just we'll keep trying.
Speaker 29 (50:23):
So yeah, well, I feel like we got a pretty good,
decent race car that hopefully we can make some adjustments.
Speaker 15 (50:30):
On throughout the day and get a little better and
be there.
Speaker 17 (50:32):
Tim you feeling pretty good about the tires. I've kind
of heard mixed reviews on the tires from guys.
Speaker 19 (50:37):
I think so.
Speaker 29 (50:38):
I mean, I think they're fine. It's just different. It's
these guys. I don't care what tier on as long
as it it doesn't blister come apart. And it's our
job as race car drivers to push to the limit
and and and get our car as the best we
can on those tires to uh to to have a
good race car, right.
Speaker 19 (50:56):
So I mean I like it.
Speaker 29 (50:58):
It's fine, it's gonna I like it for the fat
simple fact of it's gonna bring it back into a
setup thing, uh and back into the driver's hands.
Speaker 4 (51:08):
Uh.
Speaker 29 (51:08):
These tires that we've been on all year has kind
of been too good, so now we're slipping aside like
we used to back in the day.
Speaker 19 (51:13):
So I'm I'm anxious to see how the race.
Speaker 29 (51:15):
Is gonna play out today and and see if there's
some coming goers.
Speaker 19 (51:19):
But it's just been too equal in the past.
Speaker 29 (51:20):
But I think this is gonna uh cream rass the top,
as Tywi said the other night, So hopefully we're just
part of that.
Speaker 17 (51:26):
I noticed on social media there was some hullablelore talk
about the rear window braces on your car.
Speaker 16 (51:30):
What's the deal with that?
Speaker 29 (51:32):
Just nothing, just like to get people talking. Give them
something to think about. Uh, but you didn't nothing. It's
just they have to add some bracing and take some
bracing away and other places to tech on Wednesday, and
they created that problem on Thursday.
Speaker 19 (51:47):
So we just fixed it. Give some people something to.
Speaker 2 (51:50):
Wuld talk about.
Speaker 19 (51:51):
We just we just wanted to to get the internet going.
I guess you do a good.
Speaker 16 (51:55):
Job of that.
Speaker 17 (51:56):
There's nothing wrong with playing in the gray area anyway.
That's part of reason too.
Speaker 29 (52:00):
Yeah, I mean, that's that's what that's our jobs, right,
We've gotta get advantage. These cars are so equal as
you saw it and qualifying, they're so close, and it's
our job to push those limits and know what we
can what we can do, and what we can't do.
So I see those guys on Sunday pushing the limit
every time every day.
Speaker 19 (52:15):
So we just gotta go out and and uh and
uh be.
Speaker 29 (52:20):
Within those limitations today and uh and have a fast
race car.
Speaker 17 (52:24):
What are your plans for twenty twenty five? Are you
gonna be getting up to the Midwest at all you think?
Speaker 16 (52:28):
Or not so much?
Speaker 19 (52:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 29 (52:29):
I mean, I'm to be honest with you, I'm just really
I'm getting older I'm I'm I've been traveling for a
long time, and I'm not saying I'm not gonna race
and and and keep traveling, but I'm gonna kind of
pick and choose the races I want to go to.
Speaker 19 (52:41):
And uh, I always like it up there. Got a
lot of respect to those guys.
Speaker 29 (52:44):
But it's tough now with the family coming up, and uh,
we just got a lot going on. So I may
slow down a little bit and not race as much
and kind of just race closer to home and do
some different things. But yeah, it's tough just traveling up
down the road and people, all these guys that helped
me out really do it take time off of work,
and they don't really get paid much. So yeah, it's
(53:05):
just just a lot of different things. But hopefully we
can and once or twice a year and see what
we got.
Speaker 17 (53:10):
I know I might have told you this already. I
know you got all girls, but it was actually documented
that men who have more g forces subjected to their body, Yeah,
they have more girls.
Speaker 16 (53:20):
So any of them going to race, you think, I.
Speaker 19 (53:22):
Don't think so.
Speaker 29 (53:23):
They endo softball and cheerleading and they're young, but hopefully
they don't want to race. Hopefully they enjoy something else
and uh work on tires or something like that, but
not a nine driving. But if they want to, we'll
let them. But hopefully we stay. Stay when we're done,
we're doing.
Speaker 19 (53:39):
Racing, I hope. So we'll see.
Speaker 16 (53:41):
Good luck to you today.
Speaker 19 (53:42):
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Speaker 17 (53:43):
It's Boba Pollard hoping to get this snowball victory out
of the way.
Speaker 2 (53:48):
We'll be back hanging in there with us.
Speaker 22 (53:50):
The checkered plague has waved over the racing season at
the fair Park in Plymouth. Congratulations to the champions Brad Miller,
will source, Travis Schmidt and Ben Schmidt Plymouth Track raising.
Thanks all the drivers and pit crews for their ongoing dedication.

they do every week. A big thank you also to

Speaker 7 (54:40):

Speaker 3 (54:42):
It's where to go for a trailer, just twenty minutes
north of Milwaukee. Call them nine two zero nine nine
four three five eight. Hey, Matthew, give me a hand
with this tree.
Speaker 8 (54:51):
Yeah, let's get a real tree this year.
Speaker 3 (54:53):
Hey, leave that fake tree in the box under the
basement steps this year. Get a real tree from PMF
Landscape on River Road in West Bend. Any kind of
real tree imaginable up to eighteen feet. A huge assortment

festive global hanging ornaments, bows, garland, roping, and more. Stop

refreshments and check everything out.
Speaker 7 (55:19):
How about a PMF gift certificate the perfect gift.
Speaker 3 (55:23):
PMF Landscape Supply fifty four to seventy South River Road

Speaker 7 (55:27):
Column two six two, three, three eight, eighty eight hundred.
Speaker 10 (55:30):
Yeah, our tree from PMF Landscape looks great.
Speaker 11 (55:33):
Gorm going off the rails on a crazy tray.
Speaker 12 (55:36):

Iowa's they take on the Wild Sunday at three o'clock.
Speaker 7 (55:42):
Heard it over, Here's hit us rolls have a slot.
Speaker 11 (55:44):
Oh lovey start.
Speaker 12 (55:45):
Pregame coverage starts at two thirty on Fox Sports nine
twenty and your iHeartRadio.
Speaker 3 (55:49):
App PJ is back in the pits and got a
familiar driver with her.
Speaker 17 (55:58):
You bet, Luke Fennhouse call eleventh for the Snowball Derby.
That's your best effort yet.
Speaker 20 (56:03):
Yeah, it's I've been a good weekend.
Speaker 30 (56:05):
We struggled really Monday Thursday, we struggled and then we
found something, you know, switching to a different package in
the front end, and.
Speaker 20 (56:14):
And I like it.
Speaker 30 (56:15):
I think it's kind of gonna be a little bit
different day today with the warmer weather and sun out.
So I think we'll I think we made a good
adjustment for it, and we should prepare for it, and
you know, hopefully that leads us into the right direction.
Speaker 19 (56:29):
We can just have a good race.
Speaker 30 (56:30):
It's a long race, so many sets of tires and
if we can maintain top fifteen and then control the
race by then and work our way to the front
later on.
Speaker 19 (56:40):
That's kind of the main goal, and try to end
up with a good finish later on.
Speaker 17 (56:43):
Got a your your local team here with you as
well to anybody else that you brought into the fold
for this big one.
Speaker 20 (56:48):
Yeah, no, not really.
Speaker 30 (56:49):
I mean it's just it's been my the same guys
always from Wisconsin, same supporters. I CS is a new
one on the race car, but has always been with me,
spots for me in Wisconsin and just all my guys
clicking together are done right next years.
Speaker 19 (57:05):
He owns both my race.
Speaker 30 (57:06):
Cars and does so much for us and Crystal finishing
Wagoner Motors to get us down here, and just i
CS for other hard work and and make it impossible.
Speaker 19 (57:15):
It's been a fun week, but it's been.
Speaker 30 (57:16):
A long week, but we're looking forward to finishing off
with a good finished night.
Speaker 16 (57:19):
What do you think is going to be your biggest
challenge of the day.
Speaker 19 (57:23):
I think just searching for grip for most most part
of the race.
Speaker 30 (57:26):
I don't know if it takes a while for this
race to get over with that which past years it's
been dark out when we finish, So I think just
preparing and adjusting to the racetrack, preparing for the grip,
losing the grip. Maybe we go a long stretch and
and you.
Speaker 19 (57:42):
Know, we lose a lot of grit.
Speaker 4 (57:43):
Maybe we don't.
Speaker 30 (57:43):
So I think playing out those cautions, being ready for
a short run. My some my stuff seems to fire
off a little tight on short runs. But I think
we're in a good position. We'll try to ride and
and be there at the end and just see what
we can do.
Speaker 16 (57:57):
Good luck to you, Thank you very much.
Speaker 17 (57:59):
Luke Fann has ready to roll and do Wisconsin proud today.
Speaker 3 (58:02):
Outstanding Thanks PJ. Did great job today running around. You
know you got to just relax a little bit and
enjoy the race tonight this afternoon.
Speaker 2 (58:11):
What do you think.
Speaker 3 (58:13):
You can watch it on Flow Racing if you've been
kind of putting it off and thought, men, whether I
should get that app or not. Yes, it's streaming on
floorising Fello. Put it on and it starts.
Speaker 13 (58:25):
The covered starts right at the top of the hour here.
Speaker 2 (58:27):
So yeah, get ready.
Speaker 3 (58:28):
Thanks so much to our buddy Lance Allen and Tim
