On the Badger Sports Network from lear Field. Badger Hockey
is on the air.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
People have asked why Wisconsin, Oh what a say with
his glove?
Speaker 3 (00:09):
And I said, because it is Wisconsin Star.
Speaker 4 (00:12):
Sorry, had six straight wins against nationally ranked opponents.
Speaker 5 (00:22):
Yes, we want to hang banners in this building out here.
Speaker 6 (00:29):
On Wisconsin.

(00:52):
Here's the voice of Badger Hockey, Brian POSICKH.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
Calobianco so Michigan Deep Minnesota in a shootout. So the
Wolverines now with thirty two points in the league fourth place.
The Badgers need at least two points here tonight to
keep hopes alive for home ice in the first round
of the Big Ten Tournament. Otherwise the Badgers will be
(01:16):
on the road, potentially at Michigan maybe right back here
in Columbus against Ohio State High were Mounts set to
go the Badgers in their cardinal uniforms white striping numerals
Wisconsin diagonally down the chest Ohio state white unis with
the scarlet hockey pants and the gray helmets. And they'll
(01:38):
be skating left to right to start out here tonight
at the Shottenstein Center in Columbus. The Badgers with Christian
Fitzgerald flanked by Tyson Dick and Rylan Mosley, Ben Dexheimer
and Anthony Kerr. The starting defensive player Tommy Scarfoni in
goal for the Badgers. Last ten starts, he's allowed thirty
(02:00):
three goals, his save percentage a little over eight to
seventy in that span and a bit of a delay
to get started. This game is being televised by the
Big Ten Network with their broadcast crew in Chicago. Here
we go underway and the Badgers win the opening draw.
Dex Sheimer gains the red line and dumps it in
(02:21):
every behind the net. Fumbled the puck a little bit
and then the defenseman whacked Rylin Moseley. Badgers held the zone.
Dick tried to throw it into the corner. It's retrieved
there by Chris Abel who goes d to d to
McBrayer up the far side wing near the benches across
the way and the puck slides all the way down
to the Wisconsin zone and after it quickly is Ben
dex Sheimer. He reverses to Anthony Kerr. We've seen a
(02:43):
lot of different defensive pairs of late with the season
ending injury to Daniel Lodge and now the injury to
Joe Polatachuck, It's changed up once again Dexheimer with care.
We'll see shoals with Hensler, and then Weston Knox will
play in his seventh games of his freshman season with
little rookie Jack Falin tonight, but Nick Oliver running the
(03:03):
defensive pairs whistle and offside in Ohio State. I'm sure
he'll be changing things up occasionally. Associate head coach Todd
Connatt is out recruiting this weekend.
Speaker 7 (03:13):
Kain, It'll be interesting to see how the Batters actually
use their defensive corps. You know, Weston Knox I think
got tons of time. He's been an extra d a
lot of the games he's played. But will the Batters
go just rotate through all six or will they cut
it down?
Speaker 4 (03:27):
And anxious to see how Kyle Kuchanan works with Gavin
Morrissey and Quinn Finley. The Badgers deflect the puck deep
in the offensive zone. Morrissey goes to get it in
the right corner, skinning behind the net on his backhand,
try to place it to the left wing at it
neck knocked off his stick and here's Davis Burnside the
other way. Good back pressure for Morrissey, forcing Burnside to
dump it in quickly to it. Logan Henzler between the
(03:48):
lakes pass found the tape of morrissey stick. He banks
it a head off the sideboards to Kukan and tried
to play it for himself to the corner. Tumbled down,
went headfirst into the corner wall. He's fine, but lost
his stick. Now he picks it up and gets back
into the play, but Quinn Finley doubled team near the
Buckeyees bench lost the puck. It's played to the near
side and banked all the way down on Tommy Scarfoni,
(04:09):
who paddles it to the far wall, and then Wisconsin's
Knox had his pocket pick Fontaine to Johnson. The defense
been shot blocked by Wisconsin, and then Fontaine and Knox
collide at the Wisconsin line and the delayed penalty coming
up on the Badger's freshman Western Knox and Mike Hastings
looking a bit uncertain about these soon to be called
(04:29):
coming up from referee Nicholas Bett.
Speaker 7 (04:33):
It was just two guys battling along the right before
the blue line. Western Knox, I think had thementum pulled
down the Uh Buckeye as he fell down himself.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Buckey's emptied their net for an extra attacker. They have
that right now with the delayed penalty, and they're working
the Pucket neutral ice when Lindmark trying to gain possession
unable to do so. Now a second try with the
help of Ben dex Sheimer, he does. But a penalty
coming up on Wisconsin and the referees Nicholas Bett and
Jake Riccuki are going to discuss things. It better be
(05:05):
only a two minute minor, I know. Last night there
was a highly questionable call against Wisconsin's Quinn Finley, who
came flying down the left wing and his momentum after
his shot on goal carried him into the net miner.
There was some head contact. They called it a five
minute major and disqualified him for the rest of the game.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
A game in ejection.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
The first and only time Finley's ever been ejected from
a hockey game penalty on Weston knocks at two seventeen
Ohio State.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
It's a man advantage here early.
Speaker 7 (05:35):
Paul, when we saw yesterday again at battery penalty held
did a great job against pretty good power play that
did that second one turn the game a bit. The
major penalty and batteris did such a good job at
Ohio State even though they didn't do anything. Somehow seem
a gay momentum from that time frame, and it's kind
of when the game turned.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
Yeah, the Badgers had more shot attempts on their five
minute kill than Ohio State did on its five minute
power play. Morrissey and Fitzgerald out on the p k
knocks for holding it two seventeen steal et ceteraized Here's
owhen lind Mark one on three tries to charge to
the net and fell down on his backhand, had it
pucked off, poked off his stick and Ohio State comes
the other way. Drop past burnside to the near wall
(06:14):
in Fontaine, ran into Horbach who turns picks up the
puck and flings it down. Good work by Jack Horbach
in a twenty to go in the penalty to Knox.
The Buckey's trying to get on the board first here tonight.
Wisconsin scored first last night, but unable to finish finish
it off. Here's Burnside now sweeps it in right corner
(06:35):
to the left down the wall comes Riley Thompson, big centerman
two goals last night, including an empty netter. Buckeyes played
out to the point. Carfania snaps off a pass right point.
Now Fontaine, the left handed forward immediately converged upon by Morrissey,
who gets some support from deck Seimer. Fitzgerald comes over
for the loose biscuit and he sweeps it down only
(06:55):
forty five seconds left on the Ohio state power play
scoreless here about three and a half minutes into the.
Speaker 7 (07:00):
First a good power player. The penalty kill for Wisconsin
continues here.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
Here's done lap with some speed into the Wisconsin's own
shoals out of the way of a pass attempt. The
puck ricocheted out to the point in Aiden Hanson Buchata
down to the goal line. Now it's Jake Rossei, the
freshman right wing. Pass intended from McBrayer, good stick by
Owen lin Mark, who lifts the puck down off the
glass and shelf and it'll slide all the way to
the Ohio State zone and the Badgers only fifteen seconds
(07:26):
left to kill off.
Speaker 7 (07:27):
I think I left the word success out of the
last time I talked, But here the Badgers are continuing.
It's been a very little time in the zone.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
Lookout ROSSI long range shot by the defenseman Hanson Boo
caught up block by Wisconsin's Morrissey, chips it ahead for himself,
slowed by a stick from behind by the Buckeyes defenseman. Wisconsin, though,
killed off the power play, and now the Badgers have
the pucket center.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Sorry to interrupt their paul.
Speaker 7 (07:49):
That one nearly a three on one for Wisconsin coming
down the ice. Just Marsey just couldn't handle them. Look
like a little bit of a bouncing puck and maybe
an Ohio State stick causing some of that.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
How comes owhen Mellenmacher Sawyer Shoal and Simon Tassi the
Badger's fourth line on the line chart, Adam Piedla the
extra skater here tonight, and the puck de flex out
of play fifteen seventeen to go in the opening period.
No score again, Wisconsin's penalty kill has not been a
problem of late. I know it was on that Saturday
night last weekend against Penn State, but otherwise, Wisconsin's killed
(08:21):
off forty one of the last forty seven power plays
it's faced during a twenty two game stretch.
Speaker 7 (08:26):
That's very impressive and again helped by the fact that
they don't take or haven't taken many penalties this year.
They've been killing two to one three a game, and
that makes it a lot easier to have very few
goals against.
Speaker 8 (08:39):
On the kill.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
Dassy throwing his body around as his shoal, but Ohio
State will come out of its own end with the puck.
It's William Smith, a softmore defenseman from Toronto, right hand
or harder the net, I can't shot on Goalscarfoni fought
it off with his shoulder, maybe the side of his helmet,
and now here's Moseley the other way.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Pitched into the offensive zone.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
Mellenbacker ran it down, didn't get a shut off, then
tried to sweep it in front of the net. Deflected
to the near wall. Picked up by Wisconsin's Finley, he
flies a shot that goes well wide around to the
near side boards. Finley taps behind the net and now
to Moseley. He'll send it around to the right point
deck Seimer. His shot missed the net. Moseley engaged with
the defenseman Brent Johnson, so a stick goes flying as
(09:21):
Finley was after the pucket came out of the hands
of Thomas Weiss, the Madison native for Ohio State, and
the puck is sent all the way back into the
Wisconsin zone.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
The Badgers go to get it.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
A little over almost six minutes gone by here in
the opening period, no score. Anthony Kerr rifles a lead
feed for Tyson. Dick then went all the way to
the cage and Everley had to paddle it to the
corner and now Ohio State out of its own end.
Nathan Lewis a healthy scratch last night, six ten pound
freshman from Shorewood, Illinois in the lineup, fourth line, right winger,
(09:56):
last from Damian Carfonia, left handed defenseman sticked aside by
Scarfhony and then whacked out the center and the Buckeyes
again pick it up and dump it in. They need
a change, however, so do the Madgers. Zero zero thirteen
thirty eight left here in the first.
Speaker 7 (10:10):
Any talk about mix it up the lines tonight we
saw that time partly or mostly because the Pelly Killer
just ended. Quinn Finley out there with Raylan Moseley and
Tyson Dick.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
And now Kyle Kuchanen with Ryan Botteril and Owen lind
Mark for the time being. Here's lynn Mark with it
left wing. He'll dump it down to the corner. Kukanen
able to duck underneath the defenseman, and that's Larkin pulls
it free behind the net. HiT's the brakes cuts back
behind the cage and then lolls the handle swept around
to the near side. Fontaine tried to chip it out,
(10:43):
no luck there. Zach Schultz kept it alive in the
offensive zone. He's got it on his stick left wing,
top angles shot on goal, in and out of the
glove of every lind Mark couldn't get to the rebound
of the Buckeyes able to break out. Seven minutes into
the first still no score. Buck slowly goes to Tommy
Scarf he wanted to cover, with Fontaine sniffing around, but
unable to do so. The Badger's there, though, had plenty
(11:05):
of man power to pick up the puck up the
center and Bottrel ran into a couple of Buckeyes and
turned it over.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Here comes Ohio State the other way.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
Dunlap with a shot right wing, stopped by Scarfoni, who's
been perfect early on buck still loosen the near corner.
Dexheimer Pensler boy. It's squirted free quickly right into the
Wisconsin slot and Piedle It throws it right back for
where it came from. Rossi out to the point. Now
Able moves to his right, throws one in front, intercepted
by Fitzgerald, chips it to open ice. Try to be
(11:33):
able to the puck boy he turned on the jets
did Fitzgerald all the way down to the corner, then
knocked to the ice by the defenseman Smith Piedla trying
to pull it free instead Gouzo for Ohio State. They
send it back to neutral ice. Warmocks slowed down. Rossi
actually used his stick, may have tripped him up.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
We play on.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
Knox then cuts off the hands of Rossi, so to speak,
and took the buck away, and then Knox engaged with Weiss.
Weston reached up with his left hand and pulled the
sweater of Weiss down on top of him. He got
away with a holding pedale Shoal coming in pass right wing.
Oh At handcuffed Mellenbacher. Sawyer had a lane to the
net left wing. Instead of shooting, he passed and it
(12:15):
wasn't a good one. Now Ohio State in transition, Here's
Wise down low ran into his own teammate, couldn't get
a shot off. He was open coming down the slot
after Mellenbacher had lost his stick while defending.
Speaker 7 (12:25):
Little crazy Rushes. First for Wisconsin up the ice you mentioned.
I think the passes in Mellenbacher's feet, but it would
have been a pretty good chance if he connected it.
And then the other way the state runs of their
own guy on a.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
Rush eleven nine to go in the first scoreless so
far pucked a flex into the Wisconsin zone. Scarfoni steps
to his left and then leaves it all for Gavin
Morrissey born in nearby Dayton, Ohio. Here comes Morrissey with speed,
able to poke it to the corner, but Carfania peeks
over his left shoulder, picked up the puck, put it
(12:56):
on the stick of Wisconsin's Moseley Finley over to help
out out to the point it comes in. Hensler freshman
defenseman bobbled it a bit, able to recover and got
it off to Finley. His shot attempt partially deflected Quinn's
got it again, puts it towards the net that was
kicked free by the defenseman Smith. Now Mosley whistles a
pass I believe, towards Finley, but up near his belt.
No way he could catch that thing. And here come
(13:17):
the buck eyes. Lewis scoops it into the Wisconsin zone.
Henzler knocked Gordon off balanced to win the puck for
himself when Linn Mark now protects and sauced a head
with a backhand, but misfired on Finley and then trailing
intercepted a pass and lind Mark deflex into the attacking
zone to our left. Little hesitation move in the corner
to free himself a bit. He's got the defenseman McBrayer
(13:38):
chasing him all over the place. Now kookin in behind
the cage. Good Pope check By able to take the
puck away. Midway through the first we are scoreless here
in Columbus, the eight rank Buckeyes shooting for their twentieth
win of the season. Badgers try to snap a five
game losing streak. Now Ohio State will lift it out
to center across the way right by the Badger benches.
Weston knocks after it to Kukan in to flex to
(14:01):
Dick Tyson. Dick now with two Buckeyes right on him.
Buff came back to Kyle and Kuchanan sends it down
in Fitzgerald on the Ford check, but Ohio State quickly
breaks out middle of the ice. Thompson fans off to
his right, trying to wall off Shawls got it right
to his teammate Fontaine down low right and Fontaine on
(14:23):
his off wing. If you will, just really couldn't get
a clean shot off. Excellent look though by Riley Thompson.
Speaker 7 (14:28):
Thompson went around and he used his off arm put
basically one hand on his stick on his inside hand
kind of push off. I think it was Zach Shules.
He got the puck in front of a one hand
and almost ended up in the neck. Great save by
Scarfoni on the quick shot scooped.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Up through center ice the Badgers. Dalen now has it
d to d with Ben deck Sheimer Ben a goal
in sixteen points for the junior defenseman. He's had a
rough go during this five game losing streak, though he's
minus ten plus minus right now with Hensler. He's been
paired for the most part tonight with Anthony Kerr, but
things will change.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
In the heat of.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
A game at center ice, Ryan Botterrell coughed it up.
Here's Guzo now off balance, shot blocked by Dexzheimer. Dex
Sheimer does lead Wisconsin in block shots. Elenbacher pursues in
his own zone, able to chip it ahead to Botterrel
cut off by Dunlap. Puck came to Guzo, he turns
and the big left he dumps it down in a
twenty three to go in the first period, still no score.
(15:26):
Shots on goal five to two for Ohio States steel
by Mellenbacher. Here he comes to his left two on
three and now a whistle and a delayed off side.
It's been a while since we had a whistle. We
get one with eight fourteen to go in the first
no score here at the Shottenstein Center in Columbus. Will
take a one minute break. This is Badger hockey from Learfield.
Speaker 9 (15:45):

Today Wisconsin and Ohio state no score eight to fourteen
(17:08):
remaining in the opening period here in Columbus, and the
Badgers need two points to stay alive for home ice
in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. After
Michigan beat Minnesota in a shootout tonight, siscoont go ahead.
Speaker 7 (17:24):
I'll say somethhat reminiscent first period yesterday where there wasn't
a whole lot happening, and how the States had one
decent chance in this period.
Speaker 8 (17:31):
But really that's about it.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
Wisconsin really nothing so far, but played with a high
stick by Kuchanan near the Ohio state line and a
whistle stops play. Also Badger Hockey brought to you by Minar.
It's a proud sponsor at Badger Athletics from Minars. Reminds
everyone to save big money on all your home improvement needs.
At Manard's face off down to the Wisconsin zone to
(17:54):
the left of Tommy Scarfoni. So their top line out Thompson,
Fontaine and Burnside very effective last night. Burnside had an assist.
I mentioned Thompson's two goals. Fontaine had a goal and
an assist. Last evening, Fontaine quite a pickup through the
(18:17):
transfer portal from Northeastern, played four years there, and here
he comes to Ohio State. He's got thirteen goals and
thirty one points, and Thompson not bad out of the
portal either, sixteen goals twenty eight points for the former
Anchorage Seawolf. Here's Fontane across the line, defended by Carer,
who squashed him into the near side wall as Fontaine
(18:38):
spun the puck to the far side boards. Now Ben
Deckzheimer tried to get some help. Max montes on him
for checking. Carer wheels around to his left on his
backhand a headman to center and then tap back by
Moseley to deck Sheimer and he surveys before coming up
the ice left wing to Tyson. Dick Tyson will dump
it down in ever league can't stop it behind the
(19:00):
net out to the point. Henzler's shot blocked down by
the defenseman Brent Johnson, who turns to his right, tries
to get away from Quinn Finley who's hacking and whacking
him and forced a turnover. Now Fitzgerald being held, he's open,
shoots one down low stick say made by every delayed
pedalty coming up on Ohio State Badgers will get a
cune his power play in a moment extra attackers owned
(19:20):
Linn marks Scarfhony hustles to the Badger bench. Here's Finley
with speed comes across the line, slowed by Johnson, still possesses,
but Johnson eventually pulls the puck free in a whistle
blows and the Badgers get that power play two minute
minor against the Buckeyes. And it looks like Max Montees
will get the gate at thirteen twenty one.
Speaker 7 (19:45):
And it'll be interesting to see with the Badgers lines
mixed up, the power plays, looks like it's going to
stay the same. Finley was out there for that sheep,
but he stays out here as the rest of the
normal crew is out there with Moseley, Morrissey, Tassie and
Dex Shimer at the point.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
Montes for holding a thirteen to twenty one. Badgers about
twenty four percent on the power play in league play
fifteen of sixty two, but over two last night, Badgers
have it. Morrissey, here's a slot pass for Moseley has
shot not a lot on it. Everly got a piece
of it now down low. Here's a pass by Moseley
on his backhand, right wing, trying.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
To feed the slot.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
It was deflected, taken away by the Buckeyes and sent
back to the Badgers zone, but dex Sheimer picks it
up in Wisconsin. On the attack back the other way,
Finley threw neutral, gain the line, try to get it deep,
try to chip it to Moseley, picked up by dex Sheimer,
walked down the left wing wall. Buckeyes on their penalty
kills seventy eight percent this season, seventy four percent in
(20:42):
league play. Morrissey Badgers setting things up on the man advantage,
Finley outside the left circle, looking tough, engled shot, easy
pad save. Everley rebound came right back to Finley. He
tried to tap back to Tassie, but good read by McBrayer,
the defenseman he intercepted and sent it.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
All the way down.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
At five to go in Wisconsin's power play and a
fresh unit out there with Fitzgerald, Dick Lindmark Kuchenin and Hensler.
Speaker 8 (21:07):
Quin Finley the left. He coming down the left side.
Speaker 7 (21:09):
I didn't have a great angle on that shot, but
I just haven't had a lot of shots this game
so far. Nothing wrong with trying to bankly saw last
night bank pass off of a wrap around off the
pass a bat Wisconsin's Castra that ended up in the
net on a rebound.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Offside called on Wisconsin face off to come outside the.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
Ohio state line.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
Buckeyes have a couple of shorthanders this season, one of
them from Riley Thompson who's currently on the bench. Ryan
Gordon won the face off for the Buckeyes and sends
it all the way down Bordon out there on the
ice with Thomas Wise, the Hedgewood High School graduate Madison
(21:50):
native Wisconsin Senzler drop pass. Fitzgerald kicks it to his
forehand at the center circle and had a whistle and
they'll call Wisconsin for offside again, went Dingling just a
bit beard to his left as he was approaching the
Ohio state line, and Tyson Dick walked across before Fitzgerald
got the puck across, So the Badgers changed their power
(22:10):
play unit. Thirty four seconds left and the man advantaged.
Still no score here in Columbus.
Speaker 7 (22:15):
I think the buck guy's had something to do with that,
standing up at the blue line and making Chris and
vitz Cherild take one more stick handle before he gets
over the blue line.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
Statson's won the face off deck Seimer right wing. Finley
played it behind the net. No one there but Buckeyes
rimmed around by Abel but held in nicely by Morrissey
down by the left. Hash Marks skates it behind the net,
left hander finds Finley low right. Quinn takes a look.
Finley out to the point. Now deck Simon back to
Finley right wing, cross Ice, nice catch by Morrissey at
(22:48):
the dot, walks down looking fine. Bosley shoots one just wide,
gloves side on. Every power play will expire in two seconds.
Dex Seimer steps in slot his shot. Henny just whistled
it wide. Buckeye's back at fulls drank Findley with a shot.
They have gone off the side of the post, picked
up now by the buck eyes. Both team zero for
one on the man advantage here tonight, Ohio State sends
(23:08):
it down on goaltender Tommy Scarfoni and gets a change.
We have no score with four to twenty four remaining
until the AMFAM first intermission.
Speaker 7 (23:16):
A couple of good looks on that power play with
Rylan Moseley. Yeah, just to touch down back up the
high slot that last one, and he had a lot
of time in room as you mentioned, though I think
he missed to the glove side.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
Land Moseley celebrating his twenty fifth birthday today. One goal
shy of fifty for his collegiate career. Steele by Wisconsin's
Motterrel turnaround shot right circle stick saved by Everly Orbach
with possession in the corner. Now pinned against the boards
by Johnson, gets some support from Bottrel and now he
tries to help him out. The Buck squirts free to
(23:49):
the far side wall into the corner. It goes Sawyer
Shoal has it double team, wanted a point pass, Unable
to do so. It's lifted into the air. Down back
to the ice now and the Buckeyes have it. There
is a an aerial feed by Lewis far side to
James Hong, the freshman from Irvine, California, cut off by
the Badgers Jack Falen, and there's Weston Knox to take
(24:09):
the puck away. Knox, playing only a seventh game of
the season, he played last night for the first time
since late November. Badrews dumping in and in pursuits Piedla
out there, tried to back handed out the Henzler. It
came right back his way. There's Tyson Dick on the
fore check, ow and Mellenbacker as well. Three to zero,
(24:29):
five to go in this scoreless first period, buck Pop's
free to the corner. Buckeye is able to break out.
Gordon's passed a bad one as he looked left and
threw it to Owen. Mellenbacker, who's wearing red for the
Buckeyes are wearing white, bouncing puck in the Wisconsin slot
taking away.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
He had a.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
Wheeling passed by Hanson Buchata intended for Wise, didn't connect.
Otherwise Wise was wide open in a high slot.
Speaker 8 (24:54):
Those danger for both teams there, but they looked like
that had a chance in the past.
Speaker 7 (24:58):
The Aeron pass Tyson dick On must end up pop.
Speaker 8 (25:01):
Of the puck pass a d and having a break away.
Speaker 4 (25:03):
Lynn Mark sends it to the corner of the offensive
zone to our left. Tyson dick with it, trying to
work around a couple of Buckeyes and coughed it up
long angled, passed by Hanson Boukata intercepted by the Mattress.
Lynn Mark then turned it over and now Gordon from behind.
Good stick by Anthony Care, although the puck came free
(25:23):
now and the Buckeyes have it again. Kukin in a
near interception in the middle of the ice. He would
have been able to walk in on the goaltender Christopher Everley,
and he picked that off cleanly. Oh, nice move by
Anthony Care to slalom through traffic and dumped it down
in he veers back to his defensive post. Now a
little token port checking pressure from Kyle Kuchen in under
two minutes to go here in the first period, shots
(25:45):
on goal about even so far six ' five now
in favor of Wisconsin. Oh, a bad turnover by Falan
slut shot they score Jack Falin in the corner. They
like to move the puck to the middle of the
ice to break out, but that time Ohio State were
at it an easy steal and their captain Patrick Guzzo
(26:07):
buried it. Nothing Scarfoni could do a one nothing Buckey's lead.
That's the twenty fifth time this season Wisconsin's giving up
a goal in the final two minutes of a period.
Speaker 7 (26:20):
Lard talking about how this is said out of it
last night, pretty solid period for Wisconsin.
Speaker 8 (26:25):
Up to that point, it's good power play chance.
Speaker 7 (26:27):
The last one things we're looking pretty good at just
a one mistake in the corner, and about a half
second later, the puck's in the back of the net
with one touch pass and a one timer.
Speaker 4 (26:39):
Patrick Guzzo from Marysville, Michigan one hundred sixty first collegiate
game scores its eighth goal of the season at eighteen eighteen.
Give Jake Rossy the lone as cysts in Ohio State
Scott the lead and they played out of the rink
(27:01):
and we'll drop it out near center ice. These are
demoralizing plays late in the period. You know you're even
against the eighth ranked team of the country, a team
that's had your number for a number of years now,
and then all of a sudden, one bad pass, the puck's.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
In the back of your net and you got to regroup.
Speaker 7 (27:22):
Yeah, look at the replay, it looked like it was
a clear path to a pass to Gavin Morrissey. Find
of like a quarterback and the screen a part of
the play, and there's a linebacker. Somebody sneaks in and
in the side for his blind side of Ohio State player.
That's where they came and picked off the pass and
made one pass and a goal.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
Rossi with it, picking up Kuzzo.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
He tried to carry it to the net and got
pulled down by Hensler. Could have been a penalty, but
they let them play on. Still done lap with the
puck cycles for Rossy goal line right turnaround pass finally
made its way to Guzo out to the point. Now
McBrayer whistles one that bounces off the end boards, then
the side of the net. Now which with it had
it poked off his stick. Logan's got it again, looking
(28:03):
for an outlet, and he throws it to open ice
near side, too far for Shoal, not strong enough for icing.
The Buckeyes after it in their own end thirty eight
seconds to go in the period, won nothing. Ohio State
on Guzo's goal at eighteen eighteen, Zach Schulz will dump
it in for the Badgers now thirty seconds to go.
Everlen leaves it behind the nets. Morrissey kind of sneaking
(28:24):
in like a sly little fox, trying to bait the
defenseman into making a mistake.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
He did not.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
Buckeyes dump it into the Wisconsin zone. Monteze carries Shoals
into the end boards, but the Badger's finley breaks out
the Morrissey moves it back to Quinn, back to Gavin
now at center. Nine seconds to go on the period,
right wing past care looking pass intended for finley cutting
to the middle of the ice in front of the net,
didn't get to him. Tassy one second far corner, turns,
looks to shoot, does the horn sounds and that's it
(28:52):
for the opening period of play.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
Shott on goal.
Speaker 4 (28:55):

The Badgers had six shots on bowl in the opening period,
but Softmore goalie Christopher Everley stopped all sixty faced. Tommy
Starfoni was sharp when he was tested, stop five of
six shots. He could not stop Patrick Guzo's blast from
the slot after a turnover, and the Badgers saw defensive
zone guso is eighth goal of the season at eighteen
(30:41):
to eighteen from Jake Rossey, the lone score in that
opening period. Both teams took the penalty, both teams had
a power play, Both teams failed to score on the
man advantage. Wisconsin won nine to eleven. Face offs. Had
quite a bit of puck possession here tonight, having a
hard time getting the puck on net and certainly try
to get it in the back of the net has better.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
Process as well. But you know you're down one nothing
after one on the road. Again, it was a pretty
good hockey team. Okay, good after it, regroup and see
what you can do when the second.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
Yeah, and again it was a pretty solid first period,
and talked about it. Badger's power play would look pretty good.
Didn't finish, which.
Speaker 8 (31:14):
Is the key part. I talk about analytics again.
Speaker 7 (31:16):
The Badgers were great in the face off circle one
nine out of eleven, did a great job defending. One
mistake and pucks in your back your net and you're
down one nothing to a team that doesn't make a
lot of mistakes on their end. And yeah, the Badger's
mixing things up, trying to get some offense. Rilly Moseley
a couple of great chants in the power play. I
think one he missed a net from the slot. The
other one and was a pretty good chance. And just
(31:38):
keep plugging away.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
Yeah, Badger's down one nothing after one against Ohio State.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
Stay tuned.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
Paul Kevlbiando at the Shotten Steam Center in Columbus, Badgers
trail Ohio State won nothing. Fitzgerald, Dick and Moseley out
the forward line, with Deck, Sheimer and Caer at the
blue line.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
Tommy Scarfonian goal.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
The defenseman mcbraer falls down, puck pulled free by Mosley,
offensive zone, walks to the net, shoots one safe made
Everley puck in the middle of the air, and there's
Moseley to beat it in. Badgers pull even ten seconds
into the second Mosley came in right wing Paul as
McBrayer fell down, took it to the net. Every made
(32:41):
a heck of a stop and then the puck popped
into the air. Moseley batted it in, passed every who
was down, and wisconstanties it. But the referees are gonna
take a look, I would assume to see if Moseley
played the puck with his stick above his shoulder.
Speaker 7 (32:58):
Yes, there's no question the puck popped up, and you
could see some of the fans standing up with their
arms up like their should beer review, wondering what's the
review going to look like. It's a tough angle for
looking at that.
Speaker 8 (33:13):
It was.
Speaker 7 (33:14):
There's a couple of different sticks in the same place
to the right of the goaltender.
Speaker 8 (33:17):
Moseley followed up a shot. We'll see what they do here.
Speaker 7 (33:20):
It looks like they're just talking about it, and it
doesn't look like you're going to go take a look
at anything now.
Speaker 4 (33:27):
Steve Rolick, head coach for Ohio State, saying, review it,
review it.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
JB.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
Bittner, the former Badger's assistant alongside too, saying review it.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
That's what they're going to do.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
The referees indicated, pointing to the centerized that it was
a good goal, but now Jake Riccuki and Nicholas Bett
will go into the penalty box and get the video replay.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
So apparently their hockey.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
Ops guy is radioing down to the Ohio State bench
to say challenge that we're finally getting a replay here.
Mosley came in almost beat every went off the webbing
of his glove. The puck went up into the air
above the crossbar, and Moseley leaped for it and made
contact with it. Paul with a shaft of his stick,
(34:14):
was it above his shoulder? However, that is the new rule.
That used to be you couldn't play a puck above
the goalpost, which is four feet tall. It's a six
foot wide by four foot tall cage. And it used
to be you couldn't bat the puck in with a
stick above the crossbar. But they changed that rule recently
(34:35):
that you can play it above your shoulders at shoulder
height and below. Rylan Moseley stands five to eleven and
so let's say that you can reach about five feet
high with that stick and bat it in.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
You'd got another look at it. What do you think?
Speaker 8 (34:52):
Oh again, you can't.
Speaker 7 (34:53):
You're never gonna be able to tell unless they use
the corner angle where you can see the level of
the puck. But actually, the first time I looked at
it on the scorebo he wasn't so sure that this one,
maybe a little more confident would stand. Well, here we go,
here's the angle we're looking for to see. There's a
good chance to see how high it is. And Moseley's
kind of leaned over a little bit too, so it's
kind of hard to tell. I think that's a good goal.
Speaker 4 (35:13):
I do too, because the stick was below his shoulders.
As we're looking at a different replay from the right
corner actually where we're sitting right above where Ryland attacked
the cage, and there's a cameraman down in the corner
by the goal line who got an excellent view of it.
But the referees continue to take a look. Now there
was some there was a questionable call last night against
(35:35):
Quinn Finley for charging into the goaltender. They gave him
a five minute major and a game misconduct, which you
rarely see, I mean with contact to a goaltender when
you're skating after a loose puck that's sitting in front
of the net miner. Now the referee, Nicholas Bett, comes
out and let's hear it.
Speaker 3 (35:54):
It's a good goal.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
Steve Rolick tilts his head to the right, takes a
look at Betts. He points to the center circle, knows
the referee it's a good goal.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
It's a one to one game.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
And now rawl across to talk with Jake Riccooki to
get a complete explanation. But after that view from the
corner Paul, it looked as if, I mean Mosley seemed
to leave his feet a little bit too, but the
shaft of his stick, even the blade of his stick,
was below his shoulders.
Speaker 7 (36:21):
Yeah, and that's you know, how to say wins the
opening face off. I was thinking about us as soon
as they won. How much the Badger's dominated in the
first period. But a blown tire by Nathan McBrayer on
the side and Rylan Moseley, who had a couple of
good chances in the first period even though he's not
on a shot shark somehow gets one here.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
So the birthday boy Rylan Moseley turns twenty five today.
He scores his fiftieth goal of his collegiate career at
the fifty second mark or the ten second mark of
the second period, So the Badgers have pulled even with
Ohio State one to one. Now, Finley with a steal
on the offensive zone fucked bat at all off his stick,
(37:01):
collected by Ohio State defenseman Aiden Hansen Buketta, who spins
it around at carfagnya. They can't clear good hold by
Care and then Care lost it to Thompson who just
accidentally iced the puck forty four seconds into the period
of the Badgers get an offensive zone face off after
pulling even with Rylan Moseley's unassisted goal at the ten
second mark.
Speaker 7 (37:23):
Well, you couldn't ask for a better start. I'm trying
to get back in the game and get one. It
doesn't matter how you get it. You got one in there,
and you get back to Evan and I can go
back to kind of the comfortable even play that.
Speaker 4 (37:35):
Was the first period off the face off good win
by Lynn Mark Schulz went d to d and Hensler's
slap shot off a stick and into the netting behind
the Ohio State cage and they'll drop the puck in
the Buckeye zoned once again. Rylon Moseley's had a heck
of a career and since joining the Badgers he's had
a nice stay for sure, fourteen goals, thirty one points
(37:56):
for Moseley. He's had an excellent collegiate care at Michigan Tech,
got a chance to come down here with his Huskies
teammate Kyle Kuchanan and play at the University of Wisconsin,
and while it's been rough as far as wins and losses,
he's enjoyed his time in Madison, and he's been an
integral part to this hockey club this Season's not.
Speaker 7 (38:16):
A great addition, obviously. That was one hundred and sixtieth
game of his Hollo's career. It's a lot of college hockey.
Lend Mark turned it over. Look out. Why is escape?
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Move? Left wing? Finds a man back right side.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
Let's stop by Scarf Phoney with a blocker off the
stick of James Hong Boy. They went left to right
quickly and hongs shot stopped by Scarf Pony, who's on
top of his game here tonight been and a half
into the second period. It's a one to one hockey game.
Shoals at center piers off to his left. He'll just
scoop it into the offensive zone and change. Ryan Botterrell
(38:48):
forced a steal backhand shot. Where is it it in
Wisconson scores to take the lead. Botterrel stole the puck
low right, pitched it in front of the net and
he gets the old Ryan Botterrel makes it two to one.
Speaker 7 (39:03):
We saw a mistake by Ohio State, the guy falling
down right off the face off McBrier the ten seconds
in this time, the puck just kind of squirts out.
I think Bottleol really just was there in the right
place at the right time because the puck had rolled
off the backboards. High State defenseman didn't play it right,
kind of bounced off his stick and his skate. Bottol
didn't even actually put it on tours the net. It
(39:24):
was kind of on its way out, but it banked
off the goaltender, I believe, and then trickled into the net.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
Bottlerel an an assisted goal.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
It won thirty five, two goals at a minute twenty
five for Wisconsin, and now Ohio State has iced it again.
An offensive zone face off coming up, so the Buck
guys have I lost it a little bit here after
taking a one nothing lead after one.
Speaker 7 (39:49):
I think every somewhat surprised by that puck coming on them.
It would normally when the puck's back there. It looked
pretty safe. There was no batters back there, but rolled
out and Bottrell just flung it up in. It rolled
cross his front and finished far side.
Speaker 4 (40:05):
Ellen Baker with it behind the net, Tassy skates to
his right, sends a puck out to the point and
failing his shot low, it skipped off his stick and
went to the far corner. Big hit by Weston Knox
on Lewis could have been interference after he had released
the puck. Nothing called. Here's a pass play good breakup
by Wisconsin's Tassy, who went down to the ice stick parallel.
(40:26):
It will deflect the centering pass right to left. Hanson
Bukata out high, long range shot deflected off of Buckeye
stick to the corner. Wisconson scoops it up out to center.
Tassi has no gas left to get there to wipe
out icing, but somebody who does. Sawyer's shoal beat Carfonia
to it and we play on. Good hustle by Sawyer's shoal.
Speaker 7 (40:45):
Okay, great job by Shoul to negate the icing and
just getting back west of Knox. Every time he's on
the ice, you notice him, that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (40:53):
Andrew's behind the pop behind the Nette goes airborne above
the cage and then the puck played with a high
stick and a stoppage in play and the Buckeyes fans
unhappy that the referee calls that high stick, but thought
that Moseley's.
Speaker 3 (41:06):
Goal a moment ago was not played with a high stick.
Speaker 7 (41:12):
And actually, oh, I guess it was a Ohio State Buckeye.
I touched a second. I thought it was Moseley that
picked a puck up, and it was. It was a Buckeye.
Speaker 4 (41:22):
Osley, Fitzgerald and Tyson Dick on the ice with Dexzheimer
and care Badgers down one after one, scored two in
the first ninety five seconds of the second Ryland Moseley
is fourteenth and then Ryan botterrel his fourth face off
to come between Fitzgerald and Gordon. Line's been set to
(41:43):
drop it. The puck is loose, still loose, Fitzgerald reaching
over the prone Gordon to bat the puck off the
side of the cage. Tyson Dick trying to pull it
off the board's left wing. Now instead Ohio State will
waft it out through center. It bounces on edge, icing
waved off as Ben Dexheimer hustles back into.
Speaker 3 (42:00):
The Wisconsin zone.
Speaker 4 (42:02):
He'll skate up, drop it off to care At dex
Sheimer hammer to the ice by Dunlap, no penalty, and
now Caro will go to the benches. Wisconsin dumps it
in dex Sheimer trying to hold his own. Instead, Rossie
pulls it away from him. Kuzo gets around dex Sheimer,
who gets some support from Logan Hensler, and the Badgers
win the puck back. Three and a half minutes into
the second two to one, Wisconsin Badgers has struggled to
(42:25):
put the puck in the back of the net.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
And you were going to say that, weren't you.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
Yeah, But here's a centering pass Finley shot that's block
to the corner. He was opening the slot mostly now
right side Finley there to help. Finley trying to pull
it off the wall, ran right into Rossie, who couldn't
clear shot by Hensler, intercepted by Abel. He stretched past
for Rossie too hot to handle and it goes all
the way down and Scarfhony able to paddle it to
the far side wall. Rossi had a clean breakaway. Paddy
(42:50):
been able to catch that pass right wing Thompson. He
skates and lost the puck, retrieves it in the corner,
tied up by Kuk and then carries him into the end.
Board's good physical play by Kyle Koko and the Badgers
come out of their own end. Finley to Morrissey up
the middle of the ice. Morrissey's passed to Finley off
the kickplate left wing picked up by Morrissey, off the
skate of the defenseman, Lark into the near wall. Badgers
(43:12):
send it back deep. Kuchanon gives chase. Carfania gets there
for Ohio State. Finley puts a shoulder into him, wins
the puck free. He's got it now in the left corner,
looking looking Finley, oh he went short side hit the
goaltender everly in the face puck. Karen's behind the nets,
kuchan In can't pull it free. Larkin's got it for OSU.
John Larkin scoops it up to center and the Badgers
(43:33):
Weston Knox takes it from there. Four and a half
minutes into the second Buckeyes went it back and Carfonio
looking shooting Saint Date by scarf Phony bouncing rebound cleared
out to the line, not out though by Wisconsin. Burnside
keeps it alive for the Buckeyes. Turn around, passed by Fontaine,
down to the corner, he goes and Burnside out to
the left handed. Larkin walks the line a bit. His
(43:55):
shot buck by Morrissey gathered in by bottlel Badgers have
a three on two to our right tent. Bottle Roll,
though throws it on goal, Everley leaves to his left,
gloves it and hangs on. And then afterwards William Smith
shoves Jack horback. Referees get in there to cool things down.
Fifteen oh two to go on this second Badgers with
a two to one lead. Wisconsin, during its five game
(44:16):
losing streak has scored only six goals.
Speaker 3 (44:18):
They've got two here in ninety five seconds.
Speaker 7 (44:22):
Pretty much stick to the worries of right out of my mouth.
And Wisconsin had gone six games against Ohio State, scoring
just one goal of the last seven, and they score too.
And as you mentioned a minute twenty five, the craziness.
Speaker 4 (44:33):
It is, Hockey's a wonderful, frustrating game sometimes.
Speaker 8 (44:38):
And just bounces. I mean the first one guy below's
a tire.
Speaker 7 (44:41):
Second one Buck squirts out from behind the boards off
a skate and bottlell there in the right place. Actually
like slid off the left pad of the goaltender Everly
and across threw his legs and into the far side.
Speaker 4 (44:53):
Lindmark kicked out of the face off circle, the best
face off man of the Big Ten, and now Jack Horbak,
the best face off man on the team, is in there.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
He's won seven of nine this season, but he lost
that one.
Speaker 4 (45:03):
I was couldn't wait to get that stat in on Horback,
who scored his second goal of the season last night
and is one hundred, one hundredth collegiate game. Buckeyes hold
the zone, they dump it back behind the nets. Wise
shovels it to the far side and Hong h Onng,
the left handed forward, pulls it away from the pressure
(45:25):
of Wisconsin, and then Johnson, unable to hold the zone,
scooped it high into the air, back deep into the
Wisconsin zone. Buckeyes had to touch up, and they did.
And that's why you heard the line's been saying off, off, off.
Now Lyn Mark helps the puck down deep into the
Buckeye zone. Fourteen twenty to go in the second to
to one, Wisconsin on top. Now here's Montez on the
(45:47):
attack left wing. Tons of speed flies in, can't get
a shot off and wrapped it around and scored. He
had Scarfhoni leaning right. His speed carried him back behind
the net. Somehow he was able to reach out tuck
that fuck past the left skate of Scarfoni.
Speaker 3 (46:03):
It's a two to two game.
Speaker 4 (46:04):
Heartland, Wisconsin native Max Montes beats the Badgers again.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
Last night.
Speaker 7 (46:12):
I have to say, I don't know how many times
they tried rap rounds five six times it paid off
one on a rebound. This one again Scarfoni had committed
to the right and actually one of his teammates kind
of maybe a little bit, a little bit of contact
with it and made it more difficult to get back
to the other side, and Montes gets it around the
post and end to tie the game up.
Speaker 4 (46:33):
Tenth goal of the year for Max Montes, first goal
in nine games for the Heartland native. He's got six
goals and nine points in eleven career games against his
home state Badgers. Max Montes at five fifty unassisted, last
three goals unassisted, mostly in bott roll for Wisconsin. Now
Montes ties it up for Ohio States. Prayer after the
(46:58):
puck and the offensive his own takes a hit from Tassi,
but Tassing was the one who went down hard thick
Prayer stayed on his skates fuck loose him at corner.
Eventually comes free and Tassie's got it at the red line,
pumps it in beverly late to get there to hold
his own or keep it behind his net. It bounces
back into the Wisconsin and as the Buckeyes change and
Jack Faling goes together. So it's a two to two game.
(47:22):
Shots on goal twelve nine in favor of Wisconsin. Again,
the Badger's doing an excellent job preventing shots on goal
and quality looks, but the Buckeye's finding a way to
put the puck behind the Netminer one was on a
turnover by a freshman defenseman in the opening period. Guzo
just snapped off a shot from twenty feet out straight
away and h. And then this one another wrap around.
(47:45):
There's a pass by Carfania intended for Rossi. It went
off as sticking into the crowd, stopping play twelve forty
nine to go on the second a two to two
game here in Columbus. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation reminds
you to always drive sober zero in Wisconsin. Together we
can save lives. Get the drive sober app today. Just
(48:06):
think it back to that play.
Speaker 7 (48:07):
That was a heck of a play by Montese to
get with the speed he had, and he wrapped it
hard and fast.
Speaker 8 (48:13):
We've seen the batteries recent weeks.
Speaker 7 (48:15):
I could think of a couple of wrap rounds that
didn't quite get there, and this one got well done
and with speed and great control our.
Speaker 4 (48:23):
Fani puts it in front of the net, right through
the paint. It goes to the far wall, jousting for
it weston Knox. Puck popped into the air and then
down to the ice. It comes to the New York corner.
Kyle Kuchanan takes a peek over his shoulder and now
reverse his course to Phalen and now the Knox. Kukanan
wiped out as he came across the Blue line. Back
(48:44):
up on his skates, it bounces back to the Wisconsin line,
now Knox able to muscle it ahead to Morrissey.
Speaker 3 (48:49):
Finley, now right wing to the.
Speaker 4 (48:50):
Slot, finers one right into the chest of Beverly Easy
save for the Ohio State Golds at a top of
the crease.
Speaker 3 (48:57):
Gave up no rebound.
Speaker 4 (48:58):
Although Morrissey and ku both went harder than net, hoping
that every would drop the pub, he did not. Bas
off in the OSU zone twelve to fourteen to go
in the second of two to two games.
Speaker 7 (49:09):
We haven't seen Clint Finley take a shot like that.
It seems like in a while I got down to
the slot, he used a little bit of a screen.
Good attend by him. He's obviously has a score in
a few games. Yeah, he's been sneaky tonight. He had
run short side earlier in this period. That was kind
of a two on one from the corner. So hopefully
(49:30):
you can get going here.
Speaker 4 (49:31):
Finley, a team leading nineteen goals thirty four points, Badgers
win the draw. Cares skates down to the goal line,
centering past the Bottlerel on the doorstep and went off
a stick to the far wall. Dex Sheimer lost the
puck in his skates, but Horbough there to help his teammate.
Bottrel left wing pass, Dexheimer finds an open care of
the past just to fit too far in front of him,
(49:51):
and then James Hong not care all balances. The two
went for the loose puck on the near side. Caer
went down hard, but he's back up on his skates. Horback,
trying to use his body to win the puck free,
got it off the Lynmark Kerr. Back Pedaling at the
line left wing, dex Sheimer shoots one low right through
the crease all the way out to the right point.
Bottle holds his shocked up through knee a rebound, Every
(50:13):
slides over right and stones Dexheimer to keep it a
tie ballgame.
Speaker 7 (50:18):
O Dexheimer, there look like he is gonna have some
net to shoot at. It took a little bit too long,
I think to get the shot off. Kind of picked
it up, had to move a little bit and get
a wrist shot off. A little bit too much time.
Let the goaltender get over. But great job. I Everly
didn't feel left to right to get that rebound, saved.
Speaker 4 (50:36):
Christopher Everley, former Green Bay Gambler, played there a couple
of seasons ago. The sophomore from Pink Peam, Michigan, making
his sixteenth start of the season, one of three Hobie
Baker nominees on this Buckeye squad. Buck slides to the
near side of the OSU zone. Piedla out there once again.
(50:56):
His first shift of the second period saw your shoal
can't reach Zach Schules can't locate it. He got spun
around at the Ohio state line. Bucky skated into the
Wisconsin in good physical play by Hensler to wall off.
Speaker 3 (51:09):
Gordon, getting help now from.
Speaker 4 (51:11):
Tassie, pitched the puck to the far wall, pedlo and
Hensler battling for it now shoals for Wisconsin, Zach Scholes
fights through a stick check, fell down, but one hands
the pass to Tassy left wing the shoals Sawyer hard
goes into the end boards after losing an edge and
a penalty coming up on Ohio State's McBrayer for hooking
(51:32):
a cutest power play on the way for Wisconsin, hoping
to snap a two to two time.
Speaker 8 (51:38):
Yeah, I don't think it was even at that play
at the end there.
Speaker 3 (51:39):
Wet for Breyer.
Speaker 8 (51:40):
It's Gordon battles because.
Speaker 7 (51:44):
Scarfoni was already at the Ohio State bench win the
whistle blow, which was shortly after Shol went into the
board's hard So that was something earlier in the play, all.
Speaker 4 (51:53):
Right, Ryan Gordon for hooking at nine oh nine, second
power play of.
Speaker 3 (51:57):
The night for the Badgers.
Speaker 7 (51:58):
I think it was down in the Badgers most of
Zack Schuls got hooked and made the play to get
the puck up. Anyway, that was the call away back
in the defensive zone.
Speaker 4 (52:08):
Fifteen to nine shots on goal for the Badger's second
crack of this power play. Over to last night, Over
one tonight, Morris scene with kuchen In, Moseley, Finley and
deck Zheimer good face off win that time by Martin
the Buckeyes Patrick Guzo whacked it all the way down
to the Wisconsin zone.
Speaker 3 (52:27):
Badgers go to get it.
Speaker 4 (52:27):
Here comes Finley flying in left wing, looking, can't get
a shot off, skates back behind the net, lost at edge,
fell down and the Buckeye is able to clear. Looked
like Finnley wanted to go hard to the net, but
elected to pull back and went behind the cage. Last
night he went hard to the net and got kicked.
Speaker 3 (52:42):
Out for it.
Speaker 7 (52:43):
I thought he was trying to copy Max Montes and
he was looking for to wrap around on the play.
Speaker 8 (52:47):
He might have had it if he didn't lose his footing.
Speaker 4 (52:50):
Buck loose to the Wisconsin offensive zone. Still free, Patrick Beggar,
Pardon Hansen, Boukatta able to nudge it ahead. The buck
eye is able to clear and all the way down
to the Wisconsin zone, and the Badgers changed their power
play unit halfway through this hockey game here in Columbus,
it's a two to two game. Rosley and Bonderol have
scored for the Badgers. Wisconsinate of Max Montez and co
(53:14):
captain Patrick Guzo had lit the lamp for Ohio State,
and again the Buckeyes set it down. I want of
a minute to go on the man advantage. Hensler's out there,
Fitzgerald and Dick, Lynn Mark and Tassie drop past. Dick
at center, stumbles to his knees. Fitzgerald trying to pull
it free out to the point. Hensler, nice job on
(53:34):
his backhand, fourhand, fires a pass right side. Here's Tassy
put it in front for Lynn Mark off of skate,
rickochet straight away to Hensler right side and Fitzgerald fired one,
fought off by Everly's blocker, Ricochet to Tyson, Dick back
out to the point.
Speaker 3 (53:48):
Fitzgerald t's what up? And every didn't see it coming.
Speaker 4 (53:51):
Hit hit him and ricochet to the corner and the
Buckeye is able to clear it.
Speaker 8 (53:55):
They didn't see it coming and they didn't see it going.
Speaker 7 (53:57):
Because he made the same and he was in position
like a thought. He had the puck and it was
bounced into the corner and others went to go play it.
Speaker 4 (54:05):
Dex Seimer, a fresh off the bench, trying to hold
his zone, did for a moment. Then Montes poked it
free and able to push it past Wisconsin's care and
all the way down. Five seconds to go on the
power play. That'll do it for the man advantage. Wisconsin
now zero for two two two game care across the line.
Finley wanted to refeat Caear down the gut, didn't get
to him. Care behind the net, try to put it
(54:26):
in front. Ricochet to Finley point past Dexzheimer. Nice catch,
throws it back behind the cage. Ricochet de Ryan Gordon.
The Buckeyes will break out pass intendant for Wise off
the heel of his stick.
Speaker 3 (54:36):
Dex Sheimer's got.
Speaker 4 (54:37):
It, goes d to d to care Headman's down to
Findley couldn't get it all the way deep. He needs
a change anyway. Carfanian now for the buck Eys left
wing past. Montese got a piece of it and the
Buckeyes in on the fore check, but Weston Knox wins
the puck in the far wall and sends it to
neutral ice eight to fifteen left in the second a
two to two game.
Speaker 7 (54:57):
This period, it seems like it's been more open and
eyes offensive than any period so far this game this weekend.
Speaker 4 (55:03):
Toopson's Morrissey be able to get to the puck goes
back behind the net to Falan, pitched it across for Knox.
Knox right back to Falan, red line to Morrissey at
the blue line.
Speaker 3 (55:14):
Tried to cut for two buck.
Speaker 4 (55:16):
Guys got knocked down, the puck came off his stick,
slid to every He put his mid down and covered.
Got the whistle to stop playing. Seven fifty three to
go on the second Wisconsin to Ohio State too. We'll
take a one minute break. This is Badger hockey from Larpiel.
Speaker 9 (55:30):
The Coal Center, Camp Randall, the Field House. This is
where the magic happens, where the best players lead with passion,
fight with power, and win with exceptional performance. And now
it's time we add another house to our Badger community.
Meet Madison's newest powerhouse player, UW Health East Park Medical Center.
(55:50):
Home of top doctors and advanced treatments, all under one roof,
so no matter the opponent, we're the place to defeat it.
UW Health Remarkable.

Speaker 4 (56:30):
Wisconsin and Ohio State tied to two here second period,
seven to fifty three left in it. I guess we
missed the starts. A crazy start to the Four Nations
faceoff round robin game between the United States and Canada
to one to one by the way the score, but
I guess the start of the game was pretty wild.
Speaker 7 (56:48):
It looks like three fights in the first nine seconds
of the game that Kachuck Brothers for the US and
also JT. Miller, Sam Bennett, Braden Brandon Hagel Sorry and
Colden Periko former Airbanks defenseman mixing it up and at
least from what we can tell on social media, it
was a heck of my first period that we were
(57:09):
not able to see the.
Speaker 4 (57:12):
US and Canada tied at one. Connor McDavid scored for
the Canadians and Jake Denzil, the former Omaha maverick for
the United States. Here's Henzler behind the Ohio State net.
Tried to bank it off Everley below the goal line,
every protecting the far post.
Speaker 3 (57:28):
Now here's Horbach with it.
Speaker 4 (57:30):
He put it in front, ricocheted out left side, shot
by Shoals. Not much on it that Karen behind the cage.
Lynn Mark in on the foe check, trying to force
Larkin into a turnover. Gordon comes to help out his teammate.
Now Ryan Gordon will skate up the Ohio States own
seven twenty five to go Forrdon just lost the puck
taken away by Moderil built backhanded deep hoorbock in on
(57:50):
the foe check. Ansubukata, nice reverse to Larkin up the
near boards to Dilan Godboud, the freshman from Woodbury, Minnesota,
had the puck taken away by Wisconsin freshman Ryan Bottrel
low right shoots one. Oh, we just missed on the
far post. Botnrol heads to the bench for a change.
Ryan's playing well, very active here tonight.
Speaker 7 (58:10):
It feels like this period Wisconsin has gotten the puck
around the net a heck of a lot more than
they have and maybe it's because we're they're right in
front of us right now, but it sure seems like it.
Speaker 4 (58:18):
We are hash marks extended at the face off circles
in the Ohio state zone. That's our location, and we're
right at the concourse walking level. There's about twelve rows
down in front of us. We actually have an excellent
sight at the zone in front of us, and not
bad at center ice. Wisconsin's goal on the Wisconsin's net
(58:38):
all the way down the ice is a good two
hundred feet away at least, which makes it tough to
see a loose buck in all the traffic in what
have you. Badgers behind the offensive net shall wrap around
shot that goes off a stick then the side of
the netting. Wisconsin's Piedla throws it to the point. Now
Knocks tried to go D to D and flood the pass.
Montes PopEd it ahead. Weston did a nice job to
(58:59):
recover and get to Montez. He's one of the fastest
players in the Big Ten. Cut him off, took the puck,
got it out to center ice, and now piedl had
tried to dump it deep through it off the body
of McBrayer and the Buckeyes tried to dig it free.
Under six minutes to go, second period to two game.
Piello was ready for a change and he had the
puck between his skates and just pinned it against the
(59:21):
kick plate and two Buck guys were trying to try
to dig it out of there, and Adam didn't want
to move.
Speaker 3 (59:27):
He had his.
Speaker 4 (59:28):
Skates in a V position with the puck right in between,
and he just wasn't gonna move.
Speaker 3 (59:33):
He wasn't gonna change, he wasn't give up the.
Speaker 7 (59:35):
Puck, and actually I think it was it turned out
to be a great play for Wisconsin. I don't know
if you noticed, but they had in the middle of
the line change when the puck went over there, and
they kept looking and the bench was counting. There was
four Badgers on the ice at one point, I think
there was three batters for extended time while they're trying
to figure out how many were there, and the Badgers
finally jumped down.
Speaker 4 (59:54):
The ice to make it even Badgers went the face
off and dump it in around in the left corner
free Tyson Dick fired off a pass to the middle
of the ice. Moseley was in the vicinity but just
out of his reach and Rossi throws it up through center.
Badger's pick it up from there, Logan Hensler fumbled it
just a bit, lost the puck. Dunlapp slot pass for
Guzo didn't get through his Hensler got the puck back.
(01:00:16):
Don't know how he did it, but he did. And
now a whistling off side on the Buckeyes. Five twenty
three to go here in this second a two to
two game. Hey Badger fans, next hockey season, visit UWD

during intermission. Again, UW Badgers dot Com backslash Zamboni. Thanks
so much to Culvers. But once again, being a proud
sponsor of Wisconsin hockey.
Speaker 8 (01:00:49):
You mentioned Logan Hengsler. That was a heck of a recovery.
Speaker 7 (01:00:52):
It was a very important steal because there's a Buckeye
on the far side by himself looking for a easy
scoring opportunity.
Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
Yeah it was.
Speaker 4 (01:01:00):
Guzo was going down the slot Dunlap had the puck
on his stick and there was nobody around Guzo, who
scored from the slot back in the first period and
was wide open, but Fensler were able to win the
puck back and now offside on Wisconsin right wing pass
to Kukanin, he fumbled the puck a little bit Findley,
it'd already come across. The Badgers trying to snap a
(01:01:23):
five game losing streak against the eighth ranked Ohio State Buckeyes,
who put themselves in excellent position for an at large
bid to the NCAA Tournament, and with a regulation win tonight,
Ohio State would move into a second place tie with
Minnesota in the Big Ten. Badgers trying to keep their
home ice chances alive for the conference tournament, but need
(01:01:48):
two points at least to do that after Michigan beat
Minnesota in a shootout tonight. It's funny how a few
weeks ago Wisconsin was one game under five hundred, up
to six team and the pair wise a lot of
the things to be optimistic about. And then two losses
at Minnesota, then two home losses to Penn State, and
(01:02:08):
then last night's loss here to Ohio State. But the
Badgers and the Buckeyes tied right now. Henzler with it,
tried to cut right out near the blue line, fell down,
lost the puck, but Dick right there to get it in,
mostly centering past to Fitzgerald who was all by his
lonesome between the circles, and that passed a bit behind
him after a deflection and the puck caring back into
the Wisconsin zone.
Speaker 7 (01:02:28):
Yeah, you could hear Fitzgerald calling that from here. Yeah,
he was there and waiting for it.
Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
Buck back in the Ohio state zone.
Speaker 4 (01:02:35):
Finley with a lot of jump here tonight between the lakes,
pass by Morrissey hoping for a give and go with Finley,
but Finley was caught up behind the net or in
the end boards and just couldn't release himself to get
to the pass. Badgers will try again. Morrissey turns twenty
two tomorrow, another birthday Badger. Finley jams the puck free
from two Buckeyes low right on his backhand, carries behind
(01:02:56):
the net, tried to center it, went off of skate,
then the top of the cave. Now Wisconsin's kuchanin. Here's
Morrissey again behind the net. What's he gonna do. Morrissey
skates out left right circle turn around shot that hit
traffic in front, and now Carfanya's got it. Damian Carfania
pitched the puck out near the line. Badger's able to hold,
Morrissey able to take it away from Montes. Blind pass
(01:03:19):
intended for Kuchanin intercepted by Hong. Sauce across from Montes
across the Badger line lost to Puck, retrieves it left
circle slot pass now to Hong. He gathers it in
while defended by Lynn Mark. Hong then threw it to
the far corner and Montes will go to get it.
Dex Shimer on him two to two with three ten
to go. In the second, Finley gives chase on the
(01:03:41):
Wisconsin zone and pulls the puck free. Dexheimer now wrink
white pass off a stick taken away. Fontaine sets in
fires blucker save made by Scarfoni. Dex Shimer now trying
to dig it away from Thompson. Finley there well buck
(01:04:02):
still loose. Thompson, a large young man at six '
four two fifteen, wanted free to the defenseman. Johnson peels
back right wing out to the lion he comes, moves
it across, walking in Burnside, got Scarfhony down. He went
off the left pad, a chance there for Fontaine, he
couldn't finish. Puck now picked up by Ohio State. Smith
(01:04:24):
out to Burnside, little right hander, little head and shoulder
fake and a shot goes off of sticking up into
the mesh, stopping play. Oh It looked like Ohio State
was going to take the lead there as Burnside was
left alone low left and walked in on Scarfhony try
to make a movie. He put the puck low off
the left pad of Scarfhoni and then Fontaine, sniffing around
(01:04:48):
for the rebound, pushed the second chance wide and then
a point shot goes off the stick and into the netting.
So a face off in the Wisconsin zone. Two sixteen
to go in period number two. It's tied at two.
Devin Morrissey out there once again. He's played a ton
(01:05:09):
of minutes here this weekend. What a year he's had.
The soon to be twenty two year old freshman nine
goals thirty points for Morrissey this season, second tied for
second nationally in points by freshman in the NCAA. Ohio
State won the face off. Lewis tough angled shot, went
through the crease. Scarfoni let it go to the near boards.
(01:05:32):
Lewis has it back and the big right handed forward
lost it and the Badgers bank it down to the
OSU zone. That's where the Buckeyes go to get it
Able up the middle. Now Gordon, he turned it over,
Buck taken away by Wisconsin. Scholl passed to the high
slot and Tassy off the stick, came back to neutral.
Tassy's got it again and he'll dump it in. Tassi
(01:05:52):
four goals, nine points for him this season, got off
to a slow start, and he converges on Able on
the fore check, almost to turnover against the freshman defenseman.
The puck deflected towards Everly. The big goaltender leaned to
his left and gloved it and hung on for a faceoff.
One forty to go here in the second, it's two
to two, Badgers back of the Coal Center. To wrap
(01:06:16):
up the regular season next Friday and Saturday night against
Notre Dame. Both games scheduled to be on the Big
Ten Network. Both games will be on the Badgers Sports
Network and the Varsity Network app with pregame at seven
o'clock faceoff seven point thirty both next Friday and Saturday
night at the Coal Center. Love to see out there
Senior Night as well. On Saturday. There's Ohio State on
(01:06:40):
the attack. A sweeping centering pass intercepted by Moseley. Tried
to feed Tyson Dick on the rush, didn't connect buck
eyes with it again. Long range shot right wing, easy
glove saved by Scarfhony off the stick of Joe Dunlap
and he hangs on with one twenty to go in
the period and another face off coming up in the
Wisconsin Zone. Badger Hockey brought to you by Rail Transport,

Roe Hl face off to Scarfoni's left. So far tonight
he stopped ten of twelve Ohio State shots on goal.
(01:07:28):
Now the Badger's last night limited the Buckeyes to twenty
one shots on goal, their second fewest this season. Their
fewest was twenty and Wisconsin held them to twenty in
Madison back in October. Right now, the Buckeyes overly have
twelve shots on goal, a team that averages three point
three goals per game, which is top twelve in the country.
Lin Mark on the attack on a week back candor
(01:07:50):
Off bobbled a bit by every who then covered quickly
as Korbach was taken into the end boards. Face off
inside the Ohio state zone. One o eight to go
in the second period.
Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
Two too.
Speaker 4 (01:08:01):
Badgers won eighteen of thirty one face offs. Looks like
linn Mark will stay to take this draw. Lind Mark
better than sixty percent this season and linn Mark is
one four of six so far.
Speaker 3 (01:08:16):
Here tonight, see if you can win this one.
Speaker 4 (01:08:19):
Finley's set up in the slot and lind Mark did
win it and a shot by Finley partially canceled out
by the stick of Hanson Bukata, who now has the puck.
Bukata one point away from one hundred played four years
of hockey at Riit and now here in Columbus. Here
comes fernsit on the attack. Wheeling passed to Thompson down
(01:08:41):
the middle of Big Felamis the net, and then got
the puck off the n boards low left, his shot
stopped by Scarfoni uncovered. Oh that play started back here
the Badger bench one Wisconsin defenseman was in the offensive
zone tied up. The Buckeyes had numbers near the bench
at the Ohios d line. Anthony Kerr came in to
(01:09:03):
try to jam the puck free. Eventually pop loose and
Ohio State had numbers to our left. Davis with care backpedaling,
able to defend davis burnside, but Burnside wheeled and got
a nice slot pass off to Thompson and he just
shot it too high, and then Thompson off the end boards,
(01:09:23):
picked up the loose puck, tried to beat Scarfoni's short side.
Tommy made the stop, but in the process after all
of that, Wisconsin takes a penalty, so the Badgers are
now shorthanded, Wisconsin shorthanded. As Kyle Kuchanan gets the gay
(01:09:44):
beg your pardon, they're going to take Jack Horback for
Wisconsin and they're going to take Ohio State's Riley Thompson.
The two of them were engaged them in some Shenanigans
after the whistle, so it's four on four here Horback
for Wisconsin, Thompson for Ohio State, both for roughing.
Speaker 3 (01:10:01):
At nineteen fifteen.
Speaker 4 (01:10:04):
Buckeye's with the puck, Johnson slow moving past to Carfania
at center. Cycles at the red line. Now for Montes
and he'll move back into his own end. Little fake
on Morrissey to free some space. Montes gains the Wisconsin
line and he'll dump it in around to the right
corner in Johnson. Fifteen seconds to go on the period,
Buck came away from Montes, tracked down by Shoals, jammed
(01:10:28):
it ahead to Morrissey. He skates into the offensive zone,
finds a man open Shoals.
Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
He fires one, didn't get through. It's loose.
Speaker 4 (01:10:35):
Yes, it's caught up in Everley's equipment. Just as the
horn sounds, Shoals shot. I thought it hit something in front,
it must have, and then kind of ricochet down into
the pads or sweater of goaltender Christopher Everlely, who just
stayed still. The puck was caught up in his gear,
and then the horn sounded, ending the period. Well, the
Madgers were down one nothing after one and then scored
(01:10:57):
two in the first ninety five seconds of the second.
Rylan Mosley and Ryan botterol unassisted, but Max Montez an
on assistic goal tie it. And that's where we stand.
After forty minutes. The Badgers too, and the Buckeyes too.
We'll take a break. This is Badger hockey from Airfield.

Pull shots on goal in the second period thirteen to
seven in favor of Wisconsin Badgers through two periods nineteen
shots on goal, the Buckeyes only have thirteen.
Speaker 3 (01:12:26):
Again.
Speaker 4 (01:12:27):
OSU had a one nothing lead after one on Patrick
Guzo's goal at eighteen eighteen, but the Badgers tied it
ten seconds into the second period Ryland Moseley. After the
defenseman Nathan McBrayer fell down at the Ohio State line.
Moseley picked up the loose puck, cut to the net,
got a shot off on Christopher Everley, and the puck
went airborne and Moseley followed that shot and just below
(01:12:52):
his shoulders, used the shaft of his stick to bat
it past the goaltender for Ohio State into the back
of the net. Assisted goal from Moseley, the fourteenth this
season and the fiftieth of his career for Rylan Mosley
on his twenty fifth birthday, And then a minute twenty
five later, Ohio State turned the puck over deep in
(01:13:13):
its own zone. Ryan Botteril, the freshman, picked it up,
somehow got it towards the cage and it ricocheted off
of something and went passed Everley across the goal line
and in Botteril an unassisted goal, his fourth of the season.
Badgers had a two to one lead, and then Ohio
State used some speed from heartland Wisconsin native Max Montes,
(01:13:34):
who picked up the Pucket center ice and on his
own when flying into the Badgers zone, went back behind
the net and somehow wrapped it around Passcarfoni, an unassisted
goal for Montes at five point fifty, his tenth goal
this season, his fourth against the Badgers this season, his
sixth and eleven games against Wisconsin overall five point fifty
(01:13:56):
the time of the goal, Buckeyes tied it up at two,
and that's where we stand after two periods of play. Again,
shots on goal nineteen thirteen in favor of the Badgers,
Wisconsin oh for two on the power play the Buckeyes
oh for one. Wisconsin has won twenty of thirty three
face offs, Buckeyes with nine block shots, the Badgers have
eight so far. Wisconsin trying to snap a five game
(01:14:17):
losing streak, tied with the Buckeyes as we head to
the third to two second intermissions coming up. This is
Badger Hockey from Learfield.

Speaker 4 (01:14:46):
Third period underway here in Columbus. Wisconsin and Ohio State
tied it too well. Skate fall on four for the
first minute of this period because of the matching miners.
At the end of the second to Thompson and Horbach,
Morrissey can't pull the puck free on the Ohio State zone.
Montes dangerously skates in front of his own net, almost
lost possession that now stands behind his net and looks
to break it out and will do so. To Brent Johnson,
(01:15:08):
the former North Dakota Fighting Hawk, who lost the handle
for a moment. With a fresh ice it's awfully slippery,
he was able to track it down in the corner
in his centering pass, right through the circles and all
the way back into the OSU zone with twenty five
seconds left in the coincidental Minors. Once again, the Badgers
find themselves in a tight hockey game in the third period.
(01:15:30):
Thirty one out of thirty two this season, the Badgers
have either had the lead been tied or down a goal.
In the third period of play, it's two to two.
Head Man passed the Badgers set it in. Finley after it.
As Wisconsin and Ohio State bout to get back to
full strength, Finley turned the puck over in the offensive zone.
Here's Carfani on the attack. Prop passed now nice play.
Hanson bout catup back to Carfanya forced to go behind
(01:15:52):
the net. He left the puck there. Buckeyes after it,
Burnside can't reach it. Horbock, fresh out of the box,
picked up the puck with help from care Anthony snaps
off to pass cross ice. Finley with an out drop pass.
Fitzgerald shoots one low, may have teared off the stick
of Everley to the far corner and then gathered in
by Ohio States gunner Wolf Fontaine stops a bit outside
the left circle, knocked off balance, fell to his knees.
(01:16:14):
No pedally called. The fans wanted one. Then Wisconsin's Horbock
tackled from behind. No pedally there. We play on and
the buck is loose at center eyes and then jam
back into the Wisconsin zone. Two minutes gone by in
the third period of a two to two game.
Speaker 7 (01:16:28):
They a communication there between Weston Knocks and Jack Falen
on that rush against Pointing, making sure each other knew
who they had to have as they were coming back
into the zone. Knocks to Falan, taking the trailer and
breaking up the Gunner Fontaine rush Tass.
Speaker 4 (01:16:44):
He falls down to the offensive zone, but from the
seat of his pants, tried to place it in front
of the ned. It got deflected, went to the far corner.
That's where Ohio states Jake Rossi has it, moved it
back to William Smith and now Rossi has it again,
turns away from the pressure of bottle role, reverses the
flow of the play and now here comes Lewis snaps
(01:17:04):
off of pass to his linemate near his side, but
the two didn't connect and Zach Schultz goes to get
it and comes out of the Wisconsin zone with speed.
Frank Wing passed to Tass. He may not have made
contact with it. He did not that icing on the
Badgers seventeen sixteen to go. In the third Wisconsin and
Ohio State sided two.
Speaker 7 (01:17:23):
We know Wisconsin didn't talk about that much, but skating
up the ice the way the Ohio State plays in
the neutral zone with speed.
Speaker 8 (01:17:31):
Zach Soles had plenty of speed.
Speaker 7 (01:17:32):
Coming out of there and made a pass that Simon
Tassi looked like if he could receive it would been
a pretty good rush.
Speaker 8 (01:17:39):
Got it passed.
Speaker 3 (01:17:44):
Wisconsin is challenging.
Speaker 8 (01:17:46):
I think they think they're calling their time out.
Speaker 4 (01:17:49):
Yep, they're challenging a potential penalty for slew footing, which
I did not recognize while the action was going on.
Speaker 3 (01:17:59):
Do you recall that.
Speaker 7 (01:18:00):
I mean you called it as a getting pulled down,
but it was one of the buck guys that came
back from underneath and took took a badger's.
Speaker 8 (01:18:07):
Legout, legs out.
Speaker 3 (01:18:08):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (01:18:09):
I originally thought it.
Speaker 3 (01:18:11):
Was that horrback over here. No, that was a different play. Yeah,
but it was.
Speaker 14 (01:18:15):
It was.
Speaker 8 (01:18:17):
In my mind.
Speaker 7 (01:18:17):
I think it was Ohio say player falling down and
kind of wiping them out. I don't know how long ago.
That was, maybe a minute or so ago, I think
it was. But Corbach involved.
Speaker 4 (01:18:27):
There haven't been a lot of whistles at all tonight
quite moved pretty quickly. But this is the third time
now that I recalled. The referees have been at the
scorers table looking at video replay, and this is a
pretty good, pretty quick look too. Now you're a bit
of a quandary for head coaches, when to take time out,
when to use video replay, till penalty on a play
(01:18:53):
and Wisconsins charged minor penalty for the layup game, having
used its time out earlier. Wait a minute, when did
Wisconsin muse it's time out?
Speaker 8 (01:19:06):
I don't remember that the linesman in the referee are
discussing this.
Speaker 4 (01:19:10):
Yeah, no, there, I didn't think so well, it's even strange. Yeah,
referee made a mistake. We all make mistakes, failing. Yeah, right,
(01:19:32):
So the fans are complaining, but they don't understand what happened.
The referee should have said I made a mistake, right,
Wisconsin had yet to use its time out.
Speaker 3 (01:19:41):
So Mike Hastings.
Speaker 4 (01:19:43):
Actually looking at the referee Jake Ricuki with bewilderment to
say the least.
Speaker 7 (01:19:49):
I wear pretty far away and I could see the
Famila if you build their men from here, And I
think that was so much strategic. Also because there are
some batteries on the ice that icing that looked like
they needed to get.
Speaker 8 (01:19:58):
Off the ice and for a chain.
Speaker 3 (01:20:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:20:00):
Yeah, so it's not a bad time out, No, I
think that was probably.
Speaker 4 (01:20:03):
Lookout wrap around try by McBrayer stopped by Scarfoni who
just pushed the net off its moorings. The referee didn't
recognize it, but it's okay. As the badger skated to center,
although the cage still off the pegs, and now the
line's been blows the whistle to make sure everything is
all kosher back in the Wisconsin zone. Sorry to interrupt there,
but all of a sudden, the defenseman McBrayer came flying
(01:20:25):
from the left wing back behind an end and they've
scored a few times on wraparounds here this weekend, and
he got a pretty good attempt off there.
Speaker 7 (01:20:32):
If there is records kept for rapper around a tempts,
Ohio State might have said it this weekkend. Yeah, that's
been two I think tonight. Last night I think three, four,
maybe even five of them. That was definitely one of
the things that either they saw on tape or they're
just part of their game here this season.
Speaker 4 (01:20:50):
Brittan Fleming used to be a master at wraparounds with
the Madison Capitals in Minnesota State Mavericks. Here's Fitzgerald down
the left wing wall. Always fun to throw Britty's name
on a broadcast. Here's Finley now fought about a wrap around,
skates it out to the high slot, turns and fires.
Shot went off the stick of Thompson. Bouncing puck goes
(01:21:10):
to the right circle fourback, falls down, but able to
keep it alive.
Speaker 3 (01:21:14):
With his hustle.
Speaker 4 (01:21:15):
Shot on by Care, bobbled a bit by every pulled
down by the buck guys, who now have possession. Three
and a half minutes into the third to two games,
good stick by deck Szeimer preventing a rink wide pass
to Thompson, but then he's cut off and taken away
by Burnside. Slides to pass through the legs of Care,
intended for Fontaine, who had a lane to the net.
The two did not connect and back out the neutral
(01:21:37):
Now Burnside Hanson Bouchata Fontayne will set it back to
Damian Carfanja freshman year at New Hampshire now here at
Ohio status junior. Seven assists in the last seven games
for Carfagna, who had two helpers last night. Tomber Green
Bay Gambler, fine looking playmaking defenseman, and the puck played
(01:21:58):
into the Wisconsin zone. Scarf i Phony stops it with
his stick and then covers face off in the Badger's
end fifteen to fifty three to go in the third
Wisconsin two, Ohio State two.
Speaker 8 (01:22:08):
Carfanya, he's been impressive this weekend.
Speaker 7 (01:22:11):
Yeah, both ends of the ice too, not just the
offensive end where he's been creative and like you mentioned
a couple of assists yesterday, but he's been really good
in zone zone, getting the pucks out behind the net,
even around the net, just breaking up what they've done
all the time.
Speaker 8 (01:22:27):
Just got a good stick and smart player.
Speaker 3 (01:22:29):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:22:30):
And a few Badgers very familiar with Carfanya from their
junior days kukin In and Finley and Deck Sheimer and
Horbaugh playing with the Madison Capitals lost to Siue City
in the Clark Cup Finals in twenty twenty two, and
Carfania part of that squad. One of the Buckeyes got
pulled down in the offensive zone. The fans wanted a penalty,
(01:22:50):
nothing called Bosley able to knock it across the Buckeyes line,
but McBrayer takes it there, fights through a stick check
for Morris. The long range angling passed a lap broken
up by Shoals. Buckey's Larkin had it Badger's off side.
They touch up. Moseley needs a change in Ohio state
with possession fifteen to thirteen to go. In the third,
(01:23:11):
Wisconsin two, Ohio State two, Dunlap with it got hooked
from behind by Morrissey.
Speaker 3 (01:23:16):
We play on.
Speaker 4 (01:23:17):
We backhand shot left circle found its way to the
Wisconsin net. Scarfoni reached down with his left pad, got
a piece of it and then able to locate and cover.
And then afterwards a little pushing and shoving one of
the Buckeyes went down. I don't know if we'll have
a penalty. Apparently we will want to win a minute.
Jake Erkouki was back pedaling to the position he normally
(01:23:40):
goes to call a penalty, but nothing yet nothing. He'll
skate five on five with fifteen oh five to go
on the third, wasn't sure there for a second.
Speaker 7 (01:23:48):
And Dunlop that was a heck of play, but one
of the Badger d pinched outside the blue line, got
beat and Dunlap just kind of stumbled through two or
three Badgers to get in a good shooting position.
Speaker 4 (01:24:00):
And le scored what proved to be the game winning
goal last night. Oh here's a wheeling backhand shot low
left by Johnson not much on it. Scarfoni kept it
out of the net. Now a battle ensues near corner,
and that's won by Wisconsin. I'll let the Knox right
wing pass Tass. He gets around the defenseman low right,
puts it in front to knocks down the middle.
Speaker 3 (01:24:21):
Couldn't get a stick on it.
Speaker 4 (01:24:23):
Weston Knox has some offensive ability, no doubt he's got it.
Left Point shoots one all the way through. Blocker saved
made on a late reaction by Every. Now Mellenmacher with
it back to the point in Knox goes d to
d Here's Phalan shot that one off the shoulder of
Everly to the near wall. Badgers throwing biscuits, said Christopher
Every trying to snap a two to two draw tasky
(01:24:46):
able to get a piece of it into the Ohio
State's own badgers in the midst of a change. And
now Gordon side steps Lindmark jumps it in and he
changes too.
Speaker 7 (01:24:53):
Simon Tassi was down in the corner for a while there.
I don't think he liked what happened to him. I
didn't see what it did, but he came out of
that little ornery slashing hitting, getting a position in front
of that and he ended up with a deflection that
he must.
Speaker 4 (01:25:06):
Went in the net near turnover by Ohio State in
front of its own net. Buck loose to the Buckeyes
line whacked cross rink and it's picked up by Ryan Bottrel.
Got to pass off to Tyson dick Off balanced slot
shot low stick saved by Everley Ricochets of the New
York corner.
Speaker 3 (01:25:22):
Linn Mark's got it.
Speaker 4 (01:25:23):
Now trying to fight through the pressure of Riley Thompson,
but Thompson pulls it away. The big left hander turns
away from lynn Mark now try to stick handle through
the Badgers. Captain got the job done, snapped off the
pass to center ice in burnside Carfania back to burnside.
Buck goes to the corner burnside, then trailing threw it
through the slot to the far wing wall and the
(01:25:43):
Badgers take it from there. Deck Sheimer's pass deflex into
the air and back to neutral ice. Thirteen thirteen remaining
in the third. Buck Eyes got off to a one
nothing lead after one. Badgers took a two to one
lead with two goals in ninety five seconds to start
the second. Buckeyes pulled even and that's where we've been
since about six minutes gone by.
Speaker 3 (01:26:05):
In period number.
Speaker 4 (01:26:05):
Two, here's Zach Scholz now hits the brakes behind the
Badger's net to free up some space and rims it
around for Finley, who's able to redirect it to center.
And then the Buckeyes chased it and or dumped it
back in. And now Hensler spun around by Thomas Weiss.
He got hooked down. No Penley. The Buckeyes take the
(01:26:26):
puck and baking it off.
Speaker 3 (01:26:27):
The end boards.
Speaker 4 (01:26:28):
It slowly wobbles its way towards the front of the
Badger's net, then put back behind the cage by Scarfoni.
Then Weiss wiped out by one of the Badgers, and
Wisconsin's going to get at least a two minute miner.
The freshman defenseman Logan Hensler, who just got holed down
a moment ago by Weiss. He may have retaliated and
(01:26:48):
clobbers Weiss contacted the head by Hensler a two minute minor,
they say, and so Ohio State gets a power play.
Speaker 7 (01:26:57):
Wow, yeah, we saw frustration or time castle on the
other end.
Speaker 8 (01:27:03):
It didn't result in anything this time.
Speaker 7 (01:27:07):
After hens there guy pulled down it looked a little heated,
and he comes back and hits wife who has kind
of leaned over and kind of low to the play
to start with.
Speaker 8 (01:27:16):
But yeah, hens There comes.
Speaker 7 (01:27:17):
In during a battle along the back wall and takes
him out, hit him where he doesn't want to, and
no Badgers have an important.
Speaker 4 (01:27:25):
Kill seven point thirty one at the time of the
penalty on Logan Hensler. So the Buckeyes, with their second
power play opportunity, hope for one so far tonight, and
hope for all the weekend. Buck guys win the face off.
Montese left circle to the dot, shoots one block by
filing Falent's out with care, then Mark and Horbach. Fontaine
(01:27:46):
slot past, burnside backhand pass, left wing, Montese back door,
Thompson wide open, couldn't get his stick down to direct
it on nets instead of one off the class behind
the cage. Fontaine left wing settles things down the goal line.
Thompson to the slot, Burn slide, slow moving shot swept
away by care, picked up by our Carfagna. He was
blast off the Mark, Fontaine wiped out, Corbach went down
(01:28:10):
to Badgers still can't clear. Montes walks in looking delay
shoot dam stars Max. Montes found the back of the nets,
although Tommy's Carfoni says no and hit the post. The referee,
Nicholas Bett pointed and said the puck went into the
back of the cage. Montese did not react immediately, although
(01:28:31):
I did. And here's horback tapping the near side post.
They're gonna take a quick look, Paul, what do you
think of that hit all iron?
Speaker 7 (01:28:38):
That was allowed. It sounded like an iron post. Obviously
there's metal inside the goal too. Referee heard the ding.
The people behind the net were cheering right away. I
do see a Buckeye fan given the weave sign like
it wasn't in.
Speaker 8 (01:28:54):
But you're gonna have to take a look.
Speaker 3 (01:28:56):
It did hit it, clear clear iron. It looks like
now I thought it.
Speaker 4 (01:29:00):
They snuck in through the inside of the post the
closest to us.
Speaker 7 (01:29:07):
They got an overhead and it definitely hit iron and
did not go on the net as I'm looking here
on the replay on Big ten network broadcasts.
Speaker 4 (01:29:14):
Yeah, that hit iron, no goal, which is a good
thing for Wisconsin obviously, and the reaction's amazing. All the
people have to do is look at the video replay
on the scoreboard and it will show that the puck
hit the post, but I reacted as if the puck
went in the back of the neck because I thought
(01:29:36):
it had. It came out awfully quick, though, and like
you said, there is still metal. There's iron inside the cage.
Speaker 8 (01:29:45):
And one big thing that does slow is that Ohia State.
Speaker 7 (01:29:48):
Had pretty good puck possessional kid headers needed that rest.
Speaker 8 (01:29:51):
Get some new fresh bodies out there.
Speaker 4 (01:29:53):
But they're number one powerplay you and it got some
rest too, and they remained set up for burnside in
the slot partially blocked. Morrissey got a piece that shot
out to Carfagnja one minute to go with the power
play long range shot ricocheted to the near side, shoals
after it and gets to it and sends it all
the way down on the goaltender. Everly so Wisconsin short
handed for another fifty three seconds eleven twenty to go.
(01:30:14):
In the third two to two game, bird side on
the attack, Fontaine right wing standing and looking to the point.
Now Carfonya back to Fontaine. One shine blast block by Dexzheimer,
taken by Thompson, good pope check by Falin.
Speaker 3 (01:30:27):
Buck is still lose.
Speaker 4 (01:30:28):
Montese goes to get it point past to Carfanja, right
wing Fontaine is one timer block by Dexheimer. Again, Fontaine
retrieves right circle, left circle, back to right circle. Fontaine
with Scarfoni down and out. He didn't get it all
of it. It was on edge and he flupped the
shot behind the net but Ohio State retains possession.
Speaker 8 (01:30:48):
I think Jack Faaley might have just made it save two.
Speaker 4 (01:30:50):
Here's a shot blocked chance for Fontaine low right. He
shot it wide with again Scarfoni's spinning around out of position.
Speaker 7 (01:30:58):
And Fontaine lightening the stick over his helmet. Can't believe
he missed that one and trying to.
Speaker 4 (01:31:04):
Snap an in a half all up bo Jackson Oh
dumb Lap low right snapped off a shot that snuck
off the near side post and the outside of the
netting almost went short side to beat Scarfhony. Now here's
McBrayer farside Hanson Buchanta lost the puck but a while back.
Can't buy Guzo off the mark. Big hit is Mosley
(01:31:24):
crushed by dumb Lap, but he took that hit so
he could clear. Wisconsin needed a change after getting back
to full strength stoppage and play.
Speaker 3 (01:31:33):
They call Wisconsin for rising.
Speaker 7 (01:31:36):
Wow, the Badgers just used their time out to challenge
not too long ago, so they won't be able to
take up time out here and get fresh bodies on.
But that Badger penalty kill's been out staying this weekend.
They gave it up nothing until that one in Ohio
State was all over the place, all over the Badgers
and somehow the fucks stayed out of the net for now.
Speaker 4 (01:31:54):
Base off one by Ohio State, shot by Smith, shanked
out high down to the corner. Possi trying to move
it behind the net to dunlap. Instead, the Badgers take
it from there. Logan Hensler, twirling out of his own zone,
gains the red line and dumps it in. That allows
the Badgers to get a change. Nine p fifty left
in the third Wisconsin and Ohio State tied to two.
(01:32:16):
Buckeys try to get their twentieth win of the season
and move into a second place tie with Minnesota in
the Big Ten. Badgers trying to snap a five game slide.
Fuck dumped into the Buckeye zone. There's Smith for Ohio State,
long lead feet off the stick of Gordon couldn't direct
it deep. Jack Falin good work along the far side
wall got the buck free to shol pass off to Finley,
(01:32:39):
slot shot, no swooping gloves sad made by every and
he hangs on Finley looking to go upstairs. And Every
made this stop. And we've got a stoppingingin play. With
nine to twenty one left here in the third period
of play, Wisconsin and Ohio State tied to two. UW
Health Sports Medicine, the healthcare tea for the Badgers and
proud partner GW Athletics take a sixty second break.
Speaker 3 (01:33:03):
This is Badger hockey from there for your dad, amuralis
hey Badger fans.
Speaker 15 (01:33:09):

(01:34:28):
Badger goal scorer this season. That's Goals for a Cure
dot org. Face off to the right of Ohio state
netminder Christopher Everley. Lynn Mark is out right now with
Quinn Finley. It looks like Hensler and Snope, Falen and
Knox the defensive pair, and then Kyle Kuchen and the
(01:34:49):
Pucklow sports free all the way back into the Wisconsin's
own good hustle back by Knox. Dunlap, one of the
fastest guys on Ohio state squad, try to bust free
for a breakaway and now Wisconsin on the attack goes offside.
Interesting how Mike Hastings is continually mixing things up with
his forward lines that time, with Kuchen and Finley and
(01:35:09):
Linn Mark Linn Mark. Ideally to win a face off
in the offensive zone. Kevin Morrisey's been pretty good at
that this season, though.
Speaker 7 (01:35:17):
He's been outstaying today and at least headed into this
third period, I think it was eleven and two in
the face off.
Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (01:35:24):
Now Morrissey with Tassi and Tyson, Dick, dex Sheimer and
Kerr the defensive pair two to two, game nine of
weight to go in the third and Morrisey wins the
face off at center ice. Dex Sheimer to Karen he'll
smash it in and then takes a hit from Hong.
Everything okay, Tassy throwing his body around and the puck
(01:35:47):
brimmed around and all the way back to neutral ice.
Morsey goes to get it for Wisconsin. Here's dex Sheimer's
the Dick nice catch on his back hand across the line,
slowed by Abel and the puck taken away by Ohio
State almost gave it back and now they will. Is
Tassi applying some pressure.
Speaker 3 (01:36:03):
Good work. Morrissey came out of the prey and whistle
a shot wide glove side on Everley.
Speaker 4 (01:36:07):
Off the end boards and the big goldtender has to
lean down to his left and cover quickly as the
badger's sniffing around. We noticed, especially in the second period,
the amount of attention the Badgers were putting on goal,
not only getting the pucks to the net, but we
saw bodies to that generating some shots in tight.
Speaker 7 (01:36:24):
We haven't seen that quite as much here at the third,
but they haven't had the puck down that one much
that one.
Speaker 8 (01:36:30):
Kevin Marcy taking a shot.
Speaker 7 (01:36:31):
From the slot, one of the bluck eyes went down
to try to block it. I think that might have
made it more difficult to make that save. It was
hard to find the puck for the gold Tenner bet
it was wide anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:36:42):
It's Gerald wins a face off, Moseley taps it out
to the point and a shot by Henzler knocked down
off the stick of Thompson. Mott roll on him Moseley too.
Thompson tries to rim it around and out, but the
Badgers hold his own, so the Buckeyes will try again.
Thompson pressured by Mosley side step to check from the
grad student and now turns back behind his cage looking
(01:37:05):
for an outlet. Pass up to center, goes off the
body of Fontaine back towards the Wisconsin line, and then
Sholes can't get to it. Thompson cuts slot man his
shot Tony by Scarfoni on top of his crease and
he hangs on. Oh that was an unfortunate bounce for Shoals,
which freed Riley Thompson to make a move to the slot.
Speaker 7 (01:37:24):
Thompson, from behind the net, starts to rush up the
ace and ends up being the guy down in the
front of the net for Ohio State, and we kind
of where we're sitting. The puck bounced off the boards.
It looked like Scholz was on path, didn't get the pucket.
Then all of a sudden he didn't have it anymore.
I don't know if it took a weird bounce or whatever.
We couldn't see there, but it looked like it was
just gonna be a normal playback and then the puck
popped out.
Speaker 4 (01:37:46):
Riley Thompson played an Alaska Anchorage year ago, nine goals
twenty four points there then transferred here He's got sixteen
goals and twenty eight points. He came from the Central
Canada Hockey League, a junior league up in Ontario. Riley
Thompson quite a fine, not only for Anchorage last year,
but now for Ohio State Badgers. With a puck, kucken
(01:38:07):
and dumps it in, giving Chase Lindmar backhand shot. Couldn't
get it on net, tough angle to do so, and
now it's Carfonia with it. With seven forty five left
in the third a two to two game. Moseley and
Botteril scored in the second period for the Badgers. Fucked
to flex into the Wisconsin zone. Anthony kaerfakes right, went left,
lost the puck bowld a man over. Now the puck
pops free and Finley's got it. Tries to lean into
(01:38:29):
Gouzo to get some space. Fans off wide right escape
move into the corner. Tried to center to Mellenbacker fresh
off the bench. It came to Owen. He snaffled off,
miss the nets. Jake Rossi has pass up the near wall,
taken by Mellenbacker. Good work by Owen. Hasn't seen the
ice much tonight. Centering passed by Finley Kukin had already
vacated the area. Puck out at neutral and the Badgers
(01:38:52):
get a partial change here weston knox Owen Mellenbacker low
left shot one low off the left pad of Everley
Loosen the slot no Badgers there after. Horback went harder
the net but was carried to the end boards. Now
Ohio states. On the attack, Montes shot off a stick
and it Caram's towards the front of the net, came
down to the ice and Horbock out there first, gets
(01:39:14):
it down into the Buckeye zone, wipes out, bowled over
one of the Buckeyes in the process, and now Sawyer
Shol trying to get it deeper into the OSU zone. Instead,
Johnson goes d to D to Smith, who bats it
back to the left corner. Schol throws his body around
on the puck loose again, Sawyer able to kick it
away from Smith, got at the Horbock top angled shot
missed the net a rising rister that hicked Glass. Morrisey
(01:39:40):
back out for another shift for the Badgers six fifteen
to play. Shoals with an off balanced shot off the
stick of Ysen, up and out of play based off
in the Ohio State zone to come, six fifteen to
go in the third. Can the Badgers pull this one
out on the road here in Columbus.
Speaker 7 (01:39:55):
Yeah, this is the do or die time for Wisconsin.
This has been the time the decisions have been made
for Wisconsin. Actually, we're still tied with six point fifteen left,
so I feel look over the last five games. By now,
it might not have been a game anymore, but Wisconsin
battling here. We talked about they haven't gotten the puck
around the net. They have that last shift or two yep,
(01:40:16):
pucks in the feet of the goaltender, some rebounds there
that just looking for that one chance.
Speaker 8 (01:40:22):
They put it.
Speaker 4 (01:40:22):
Home, face off, still loose, Tyson Dick with it backhand,
sauce across Henzler straight away, Dick, his shot waffled away
by Everley and up and out of play, and another
face off to come. Shots on goal in favor of Wisconsin.
Tonight twenty five seventeen, make it twenty six seventeen.
Speaker 7 (01:40:44):
The Badgers are switching up their d it seems like
us every time they get a chance.
Speaker 8 (01:40:48):
Just try to keep them fresh.
Speaker 7 (01:40:50):
They haven't been shy, they've been playing failing and knocks
funny here in this game, but as it gets closer
here might not see the ice as much.
Speaker 3 (01:41:00):
Is loose.
Speaker 4 (01:41:00):
Buckeyes when the drawa can't clear care kept it alive,
shoved it towards the net, went off of stick though,
and Able banks it ahead to Fontaine, but made its
way to deck Sheimer, who whips it in around the
dasher to the left wing wall. Tyson Dick cut off,
Davis Burnside takes it for the Buckhouns the beltie pass
(01:41:20):
for Thompson, knocked it down, Fitzgerald took it away, slow
moving cross ice pass got to Tassie, now to Dick
one on three off to his left and whistled one
wide and then mostly tried to kick it into the
offensive zone and a whistle and a stoppage and play
with five thirty four to go in the third a
two to two game.
Speaker 7 (01:41:39):
I Buck looked like he was bouncing around, maybe up
on edge on Tyson Dick, and that makes her a
tricky shot. Yeah, didn't end up on net probably a
similar reason. But if that gets on the net, that
that's going to be a really difficult save for the goaltender.
Speaker 4 (01:41:51):
Both teams have already used their timeouts, here tonight, unsuccessful
on challenges base off to the left of Beverly, and
a two game Badger's back at the Coal Center to
wrap up the regular season next weekend, Notre Name will
be in town Friday and Saturday night. Both games started
seven point thirty. Buckey's finally win the puck.
Speaker 7 (01:42:12):
A couple of good crowds already set up for those games.
It'll be a fun weekend.
Speaker 4 (01:42:15):
Lewis dumps it in faling after it for the Badgers.
Right on him quickly was Dylan Godbout, fourth line out
for Ohio States, Knox.
Speaker 3 (01:42:25):
And Gordon going at it a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:42:26):
Puck still pinned against the kick plate behind the Badger's net,
Scarfoni looking over his right shoulder, still below the goal line,
reaching for it. Knox can't get it free. God Bout
had it, then lost it. Now it jumps over his
stick and Knox has it and the Badger's freshman defenseman
head Man's to bottleol Wisconsin on side. Bottlerel tried to
set up Moseley going down the middle, but his pass
(01:42:48):
went off a stick in a fine catch by one
of the backup goaltenders.
Speaker 3 (01:42:53):
On the Ohio State bench. As it went flying towards.
Speaker 4 (01:42:57):
The equipment manager over there at being Tim Adams, who's
in his twenty eighth season, celebrating more than one thousand
games worked in college hockey.
Speaker 3 (01:43:07):
Pretty impressive.
Speaker 8 (01:43:08):
That's a long time doing this, Yeah, since I believe
the nineties.
Speaker 7 (01:43:13):
Yeah, with the buck eyes, I know Nate LaPoint hit
five hundred games.
Speaker 8 (01:43:17):
I believe that was early last year. And so he's
got home a long way to go, obviously, Badger's win
the offensive zone face off. Shoals down the wall, bumped
off balance a bit and then walloped by Dunlap, but
he got the puck.
Speaker 3 (01:43:29):
Back in the corner.
Speaker 4 (01:43:30):
Shoals looks over his left shoulder at the half boards,
left cycles down to kuchenin twists away from Guzo behind
the cage. It's bouncing to the left of the netliner.
Badger's trying to get it and came him to the
far wall, and now Ohio State has it. They break
out pass up far side. Rossi is shot partially deflected
by Hensler, came all the way around to the near sided.
(01:43:51):
Dunlap shot from the right's side on gold it. Scarfoni
made that save and a long lead feet for Finley,
who chased it down low left, try to go short side.
Every fought it off with his right shoulder. Puck deflects
back to the Ohio State gold Mouth and he'll cover
Everley will and stop things.
Speaker 3 (01:44:09):
With four to ten to go in a two to
two game.
Speaker 7 (01:44:12):
I mentioned Quinn Finley. It seems like he's got maybe
one of his better games since since he left the
one game against Michigan earlier this year.
Speaker 8 (01:44:20):
I don't know what he's been credited for him, but
thre five shots on goal.
Speaker 7 (01:44:23):
Yeah, I mean he's had a couple in the slot
against the Green, He's tried short side a couple of times.
It's good to see him a little more active than
anything he's been.
Speaker 3 (01:44:31):
Yeah, after he got.
Speaker 4 (01:44:34):
Ejected last night, amazingly, you could tell right from the
get go tonight he was fully engaged and physical too.
Schol tries to wrap one around, can't get the angle,
and when he does pull the trigger, it went off
his stick. Behind the net right there was Wisconsin's Horbaugh
passed cross eyes to care put it in front, knowing
(01:44:54):
home for Wisconsin, bounces off the corner wall out the
deck Zheimer, who throws it back to the right order
and now Schol will send it behind the net and
Owen Melenbacher abel pins him against the end boards, but
Schol comes into help. And then Horback just got knocked
to the ice. Tried to draw a penalty, but we
play on no right arm goes up. Ellenbacher picks the
(01:45:15):
pocket of one of the puck guys and got a
wrist her off that Everley stopped. Now Horback and McBrayer
going at it after the whistle and prior to the whistle,
and they may be taking well, they're taking McBrayer for sure.
They taking Horbock two, I would assume. So there's only
three and a half minutes left in regulation at a
tie game, but we're going to be playing four on
four for the next couple of minutes here.
Speaker 7 (01:45:36):
Yeah, they pointed to both guys and in Horback, I've
hit pretty good from behind up near the head. The
original play could have been possibly a boarding called wasn't
called originally. And then Horback went to the net and
batted again with mcbray. Are right next to the goaltender.
It's a pretty good shot from behind and a follow
to the head and ken the better. So don't have
(01:45:57):
a challenge left right without taking a rest to get
a delay of the game penalty. But if they had
one left and guess, and that one would have been
reviewed if.
Speaker 4 (01:46:05):
One of the referees was looking right at the play
and just let them play. Thompson against Fitzgerald face off
to the left of the Ohio.
Speaker 3 (01:46:12):
State nets, everly in position. Fitzgerald won the draw.
Speaker 4 (01:46:15):
Mosley got enough of the puck to get it towards Phalen,
but it rolled off of his stick and out through center,
So the Badgers have to touch up Scholz, Falen, Moseley
and Fitzgerald.
Speaker 3 (01:46:26):
Zach has the puck.
Speaker 4 (01:46:28):
Zach skates to the red line and he'll fire it
in around to the left wing wall. Fitzgerald lets it
go and almost turned over by Ohio State. Buckeyes possessed Carfanja.
Now three minutes left in the period. Carfanya heard of
the net, got around Falen, put the puck between Scarfhoni's
legs and scored Damien Carfania one on one with a
(01:46:50):
Bactor's freshman defenseman actually put the puck between Falen's legs
and then caught up to it and got enough of
it to slide it between scarf pads double wicket shot
by Damian Carfonia.
Speaker 3 (01:47:04):
It's three two Buckeyes.
Speaker 8 (01:47:06):
I think Scarfoni tried to poke check that.
Speaker 7 (01:47:10):
I think Carfonia got his stick on it right at
the last second. He might not even gotten it on
and it just slid through the goaltender's tads because I
think badger backchecking got the stick lifted up and it
just slid right past Tommy Scarfoni didn't have a stick
on the ice. Fuck escorted right through the legs of
(01:47:30):
the goaltender and Ohio State takes the lead.
Speaker 4 (01:47:33):
You're right, he didn't get his stick on it after
it went through the legs of Falen.
Speaker 3 (01:47:38):
And Scarfoni would want that one back. I bet.
Speaker 4 (01:47:44):
Seventeen minutes the time of the goal for Damian Carfonia,
his sixth of the season.
Speaker 3 (01:47:50):
Get burnside the lone assists in.
Speaker 4 (01:47:53):
Ohio State has a three to two lead, and Mike
Hastings again will be forced to pull his goaltender for
an extra attack for the sixth straight game. Here's Tyson
Dick centering pass goes off his stick. Tassi was tied
up stick with a steal flow left, tried to force
a shot. Sticks he'd made by every puck loose in
(01:48:13):
front of the nets and diving forward. Kuzo able to
release off to Smith. He gains the Wisconsin line, now
pulls it back and will rag the puck, preventing Wisconsin
goaltender Tommy Scarfoni from getting to the Badgers bench. Two
fifteen to go. Now a turnover. Morrisy walks in. He
tries to can't get a shut off. All recovering was
Hanson Buchata. He coughed that thing up and Morrissey was
(01:48:35):
walking towards the net, and somehow Bukta got his stick
on the puck and Gavin never got a shot off.
Speaker 3 (01:48:41):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (01:48:43):
Now here's Thompson on the attack. He shoots one wide
glove side on Scarfoni, off the end boards. Carfonia throws
it towards the front of the net, knocked down by Hensler.
Run down by Hensler, backhand pass to Finley, Finley tap
past left wing, Morrissey extra attacker for the Badger's Scrfoni
out of his net with one forty three to go.
Moseley turn around shot hit the top of the crossbar
(01:49:03):
and up and out of play. Ooh, he had some
room over the right shoulder of Everly going that way,
and he drew a little bit of iron right on.
Speaker 3 (01:49:12):
Top of the crossbar and up end of the mess should.
Speaker 8 (01:49:14):
Win nifty pass there.
Speaker 7 (01:49:16):
I think it was Morrissey going back towards the blue
line has changed direction, cutting Moseley to the left dock
and then the shot off the crossbar as you mentioned.
Speaker 4 (01:49:27):
Wow, base off to Beverley's right. Need one more skater
out there. Scarfoni has been lifted for an extra attacker. Well,
they've got five against Ohio States four. Two men still
in the penalty box with eight seconds left their coincidental
minors base off one by Wisconsin Dexheimer right wing and
(01:49:47):
a blast by Finley missed. The nets went upstairs again.
Dexheimer holds down to the corner, it goes off the shelf.
Tassie tried to win it free for Wisconsin. Finley now
in a foot race far corner. Dunlap got there first.
They clear all the way down. It'll be icing though
well wide of the net by a good fifteen feet.
Icing on Ohio State Badgers with an extra attacker one
(01:50:09):
eighteen to go in the third, looking to draw even
against Ohio States.
Speaker 7 (01:50:15):
Unfortunately, the Badgers have had a lot of practice that
extra attack are play lately.
Speaker 16 (01:50:20):
Now.
Speaker 7 (01:50:20):
They got wine against Minnesota a couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 8 (01:50:25):
Not enough that night here, trying to get this game even.
Speaker 4 (01:50:29):
Base off, Lynn marked down to his knees trying to
win it, and I think the linesman says it's his fault,
so they'll drop it again. Lynn mark against Guzo to
the left of Everly. One eighteen to go, Bump goes
to the wall, pull free Mosley low right tass he
puts it in front, came right back to him. Simon
(01:50:52):
bumps a pass out to the left point in Morrissey
Gavin through traffic, didn't get to the net.
Speaker 3 (01:50:56):
Now Finley, though heat fires counted.
Speaker 4 (01:50:58):
By Everley, hangs on all that ricochet a right to
the badgers best shooter, Finley just outside the right circle.
He let it go and Everly ready and snagged it.
Speaker 8 (01:51:09):
And then he looked up to the sky after that line.
Speaker 7 (01:51:12):
I don't know what he saw, but I'm guessing when
he was shooting that he saw some opa neet there.
Speaker 8 (01:51:16):
But the goaltender got over with the glove.
Speaker 4 (01:51:19):
One four to play here in the third, Wisconsin down
a goal. Damian Carfania walk the Badgers freshman d and
the puck slid right between the pads of Scarfoni. With
three minutes to play, the go ahead goal for the Buckeyes,
who could move into his second place tie with Minnesota
where the regulation win Ssconsin won the face off, Finley
snaps off of past deck. Seimer skates away from pressure
(01:51:41):
wars He now with it with a minute to play
extra attacker with the Badgers, they need one to tie
pass for Mosley off his stick and over the glass,
stopping play with fifty three and a half seconds to
go here in the third period of play.
Speaker 7 (01:51:55):
A lot of stop at this year, since they've always
been called they have Badger's top guys out there. They
in this case they'll be able to staff there for
a minute and a half. There's been lots of rest
time here, but.
Speaker 4 (01:52:05):
They've also locked a lot of minutes here this weekend.
Finley fresh though after getting kicked out last night, Morrisy
digs in for the face off win dex Sheimer holds
out higher right. It's Finley taking a look mostly sneaks
in backside, Finley looking for him.
Speaker 3 (01:52:22):
Shot blocks by Thompson.
Speaker 4 (01:52:24):
Finley able to knife it down to the corner, but
then whack back out to center and the Badgers have
to touch up thirty five seconds to go in the third.
Wisconsin down three to two. Three's been the magic number
for Wisconsin this season. Getting there has been the difficult part.
Now a steal and Ohio State clears, but again wide
and that'll be icing once dex Sheimer gets to the
(01:52:46):
hash Marks, he does twenty point eight seconds to go
in the third, a three to two Ohio State lead. Hey,
a reminder in the next Wisconsin Hockey Hour coaches radio
show will be a live show from bucking' Honey's and
Monona Wednesday this coming Wednesday, February nineteenth, seven to eight o'clock.

hope you join us be part of the studio audience
Wednesday night at bucking Honey's in Monona for the Wisconsin
Hockey Hour at seven o'clock on the Badger's Sports Network
base Off left of every twenty point eight seconds left,
Linn Mark to take the draw again. Finley's out there,
Bosley Tassy loose pocking tassy backhead. It went off of
(01:53:31):
sticking over the cage, Lynn Mark after it can't pull
it free.
Speaker 3 (01:53:35):
Fuck, guys have it.
Speaker 4 (01:53:36):
They're throwing it towards the empty net and they finish
it off co Captain Davis Purnside an empty netter with
ten point nine seconds laps and the Badger's losing streak
about to be extended to a season high six games. Wow,
(01:54:00):
you can see just a sheer disappointment. Then the reaction
of the young men in Cardlin White just battled.
Speaker 8 (01:54:07):
All night here and I got a couple of goals.
Speaker 7 (01:54:09):
I haven't been able to do that against Ohio State
and much in the last few seasons. And this comes
down to a couple of plays here for Wisconsin turn
it over and as just the kind of an unlucky
play towards the end here that gets Ohio State that
go ahead goal with just three minutes left.
Speaker 4 (01:54:26):
So I w is the eleventh goal of the season, an
empty vetter at nineteen to fifty. But back in the Badgers,
n Western knocks with it States up and that's it.
Six straight losses for the Badgers, eight straight in this building.
Wisconsin will not host a first round VIC ten tournament
series in a couple of weeks instead back on the road.
(01:54:50):
Either here in Columbus, it'd be an ann arbored. Possibly
it's very ucci. We'll wait to find out. Two more
games left in the regular season and for the Badgers
to get things straightened out before the playoffs begin. Ohio
states a four to two win here tonight over the
Wisconsin Badgers.

Last night, Wisconsin allowed only twenty one shots on goal
and Ohio State one four to one. Tonight, the Badgers
allow only twenty shots on goal and the Buckeyes prevail
four to two. Ohio State improves to twenty eight and
two with its fourth straight win and moves into a
second place tie with Minnesota in the Big Ten standings,
three points behind league leading Michigan State. Wisconsin falls to
(01:56:37):
eleven eighteen and three six fifteen and one in the
Big Ten. The Badgers are in sixth or beg yep
sixth place. The Badgers in sixth place, two points behind
fifth place Penn State, but cannot catch Michigan for fourth place,
so the Badgers will be on the road for the
first round of the Big Ten tournament during the first

On Bryant Posik. You know this has happened so often
now this season. It's I don't know how much more
pain you can feel.
Speaker 3 (02:00:38):
With these types of setbacks. It's just remarkable.
Speaker 4 (02:00:42):
Thirty one out of thirty two games the Badgers are
in it in the third period, either it's tied, Wisconsin's
got the lead, or down a goal. But for some reason,
just solving that riddle has been a problem all season.
The Badgers now eleven eighteen and three. They've lost six,
outscored twenty five to eight during that six game losing streak,
(02:01:06):
and all six have included an empty net goal. So
the Badgers again doing everything they possibly can pulling out
the stops. Late in the game, it was a four
on four situation that could have been a Wisconsin power
play when their defenseman Nathan McBrayer made head contact with
Jack Warback, but instead of calling a two minute mine
around McBrayer, a little shippiness ensued and then Warbock was
(02:01:30):
taken as well. Became a four on four and still
is a one goal game after Tommy Scarfoni had given
up that last goal to make it three to two
and Wisconsin empties its net for an extra attacker and
can't finish it off. But yeah, that's another tough one
to take sometimes I just don't know how to explain
(02:01:50):
it any further.
Speaker 7 (02:01:51):
Yeah, this one to me hurts as much as any
of them because it was so late in the game.
Here three minutes left on a play that you'd love
to have back. You know, the batters have ye I
hate to be negative, but they've found ways to lose,
and this year that one they found a way to
lose tonight where a play. I mean it was a
great play by Carfanya. He made a great play around,
(02:02:13):
rushed to the net, went to the net, made a
move and failing Jack Falin made a nice play to
pick up a stick and make it so he couldn't
get a follow up shot or he couldn't get a
shot off. But unfortunately Tommy Scarfoni was coming out making
poke check move and the stick wasn't where the puck
ended up because of the no shot attempt and fail
in doing his job, just a little bit of bad
(02:02:36):
luck there. Just it's unbelievable that that turned out to
squeak through the goaltender.
Speaker 8 (02:02:41):
And it went from there.
Speaker 7 (02:02:43):
I mean the Batters hit we saw a crossbar maybe
two that period for Wisconsin and they were right there, yep,
and just found a way and just didn't didn't work out.
Speaker 4 (02:02:52):
Yeah, So Wisconsin again suffers at sixth great loss. Two
games left in the regular season next weekend at home
against Notre Dame.
Speaker 3 (02:03:00):
Ready for the three stars of the game?
Speaker 8 (02:03:02):
Sure, okay, number three star going to go.
Speaker 7 (02:03:04):
Rylan Mosley got the Batters on the board ten seconds
into the second period with a nice rebound out of
the air, his fiftieth career NCAA goal, So we're going
to give him the third star. I believe that was
it one hundred and sixtieth NCAA game, which is pretty
impressive too.
Speaker 8 (02:03:19):
Yeah, it was his birthday today and even and there
you go.
Speaker 14 (02:03:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:03:23):
Max Montes number two star for Ohio State. He had
a goal, a nice wrap around that tied the game
up after the Batterers had scored twice in about a
minute twenty five span, and a few minutes later he
made it a tie game. And then the number one
star Actdamian Carfana. I enjoyed watching him. Yeah, on the
wrong team, they'll enjoy that. But he scored the winner
three shots on goal was plus two for the buck Eyes.
(02:03:46):
Definitely was a catalyst for them this weekend with a
couple of goals he set up yesterday.
Speaker 8 (02:03:50):
And give him the number one star the night.

Back here in Columbus, the Badgers fall to Ohio State
four to two. Our energizing performance to the game brought
to you by a LIONT Energy, powering beyond for you, Paul,
what do you got?
Speaker 2 (02:07:15):
Well?
Speaker 7 (02:07:15):
I kind of referenced it a little bit ago. You know,
Mistakes were the name of this game. They looked back
four mistakes, two for each team, and a couple early
in the second period by Ohio State fall down. Rylan
Moseley gets his own rebound out of the air, gets
the Batgers going a little bit, and then right after that,
about a minute twenty five later, puck bounces off of
our Ohio State defenseman behind the net right out to Ryan
(02:07:37):
botre Alt the side who banks winning off the goaltender,
and that definitely got the Batter's going and got two
goals in a minute twenty five. They hadn't scored two
goals against Ohio State in just one of the last
seven games before that, so that was definitely got the
Badger's energizing into the game and.
Speaker 8 (02:07:51):
Up for a lead for at least a few minutes.
Speaker 4 (02:07:53):
Yeah, unfortunately the Badgers fall here tonight for too. Regular
season wraps up next weekend. Wisconsin does have an exhibition
on Sunday, Mark second, at six pm against the National
team Development Program, so keep that in mind. But the
regular season ends next weekend at the Coal Center against
Notre Dame. Paul, Both games started seven thirty, big crowds,
senior night, all kinds of fun.
Speaker 7 (02:08:13):
Yeah, it should be a great way to for the
regular season to go out at the Coal Center. Just
under eleven thousand each night as of earlier in the week,
so I'll expect eleven twelve thousand each night for a
Notre Dame series and send off the seniors on Saturday.
It'll be a great way to go out in the
Call Center. And you mentioned Sunday, March second, the US
team is coming into town. You can get those ten

can't beat that. See cheer on America. I know they

Well Bio State gets its twentieth wind of the season,
hands Wisconsin it's sixth grad loss, four to the final.
Here in Columbus, let's quickly pause ten seconds for station identification,
ten seconds for a legal ID. You're listening to Wisconsin
Badger hockey Ryan Posik back here in Columbus, joined now
by assistant coach Kevin Murdock, following Wisconsin's four two loss
to Ohio State. And Kevin, whether it's you or Nick
(02:11:17):
or Todd Connaught or Mike Hastings, It's like the same
line of questioning after some of these games. This was,
this is another tough one to take. How would you
kind of characterize how this one all transpired here tonight?
Speaker 26 (02:11:29):
Yeah, you're right that tonight was a tough one. It's
one of those weird games, like we scored scored two
goals that were a little bit flukey. We probably had
plenty of chances to score more than those, and even
on some of those better chances, weren't able to put
it in the back of that, and then when we
(02:11:49):
did give up some chances the other way, they were
fortunate enough to capitalize on them. Similar situation, a couple
of them, a little bit fluky, but.
Speaker 3 (02:11:58):
Yeah, just tough one.
Speaker 4 (02:12:01):
It's it's tough to take for sure. You know again,
you're you're right in it. In the third period as well,
and it looked like we might be headed overtime. We've
be done that plenty here tonight. And then their play
making defenseman, uh tried to make a play. What did
you see from your vantage point on there? Go ahead
gold here in the third with about three minutes.
Speaker 26 (02:12:18):
Left, just just their guy running up the ice of speed.
We had numbers back and yeah, he was able to
kind of get around one guy, get to the net,
miss poke checked by the goalie and yeah, just kind
of slips fivefle there. I don't even know if he
meant to put it on put it on net, or
if you kind of lost it. And yeah, just a
tough one.
Speaker 3 (02:12:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:12:39):
Actually when he went around Jack Falin, but Jack made
a nice play and lifted his stick. He never got
a piece of it again. And it when Tommy went
to Pope check it, Uh, he just missed it.
Speaker 3 (02:12:49):
You've been. You're a goaltender.
Speaker 4 (02:12:51):
You're in a tough spot there too, because you see
the play coming at you, the puck is loose, and
sometimes I bet you it just looks like, okay, this,
this is the right move.
Speaker 3 (02:13:00):
And sometimes it's not right. You're kind of stuck, aren't you.
Speaker 26 (02:13:02):
Yeah, yeah, you kind of get handcuffed on some of
those ones, especially when the plays coming at you quick
like that.
Speaker 4 (02:13:07):
So, yeah, they how many wrap arounds did they attempt
this weekend? I hadn't seen that many wrap arounds and
they'd scored on two or three of them this weekend.
Speaker 26 (02:13:15):
Yeah, they scored on two of them, for sure, But yeah,
they attempted quite a few more than I mean, it's
rare that we see that many in a weekend. Obviously,
some teams that's kind of their mo and try to
do that off of his own possession. But I thought
they attempted a number of them off's own entries with speed,
which are obviously tough to stop when you have all
(02:13:37):
that speed coming around the back of the net.
Speaker 4 (02:13:39):
Yeah, you know, I know it's disappointed. You could see
the frustration on the on the guy's faces too. Overall,
you played a pretty good hockey game, don't you think.
Speaker 26 (02:13:48):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I think from start to finish,
like might have deserved a better fate there, but just
kind of the way things are going right now, we
got to find a way to get ourselves out of
it here with two regular season games left heading into playoffs.
And that is the beauty with playoffs and how the
system works is anything can happen once you get in there.
Speaker 4 (02:14:07):
So yeah, and you get to go back home too.
It sounds like two big crowds. Capita was saying over
eleven thousand or so. Yeah, that would be right, right, Yeah, yeah,
that'll lift you up, want it?
Speaker 3 (02:14:16):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, well, hey, thanks for coming upstairs.
I appreciate it. I know it's kind of tough.
Speaker 4 (02:14:21):
Here and and everybody wants to do maybe that make
that one play, do one more thing to get you
guys over the hump, don't.
Speaker 26 (02:14:28):
You think, Yeah, yeah, I think. I mean the way
things are going, I think, I want to say, guys
are gripping their.
Speaker 3 (02:14:33):
Sticks a little bit tight. But there's just a little
bit of.
Speaker 26 (02:14:35):
Added pressure when pucks aren't going in like they were,
you know, going on our around chrisp going into Christmas
and right after Christmas there, So it's just a yeah,
it's way and I think it weighs on guys a
little bit. So we just got to find a way
to over these this next week and a half, two
weeks or whatever it is, figure out a way to
kind of get that out of our system and start playing,
(02:14:57):
playing and executing to our capabilities.
Speaker 3 (02:15:00):
Okay, thanks for coming up, Kevin, appreciate that's assistant coach
Kevin Murdock here. After the Badgers fall to Ohio State

Speaker 4 (02:20:23):
Well, it's been a rough stretch for the Wisconsin Badgers,
to say the least. Came in tonight series finale against
Ohio State having lost five in a row and then
in every one of those games in the third period
of play, just unable to make the plays to get victories.
And it's been a common theme here this season, whether
it's scoring an additional goal, adding on to a lead,
(02:20:45):
or getting a big save, it just has not been
very consistent for the Badgers. But once again tonight they
were in this game against aighth ranked Ohio State, the
Buckeye seeking their twentieth win of the season. Under former
Badgers captain national chief upon Steve Brawlock, here are the
coals of the game. Oh, a bad turnover by Falan
slot shot. They score Jack Falin in the corner. They
(02:21:08):
like to move the puck to the middle of the
ice to break out, but that sime Ohio State adit
an easy steal and their captain Patrick Guzzo buried it.
Breer falls down, puck pulled free by Mosley, offensive zone,
walks to the net, shoots one saint made every puck
in the middle of the air and there's Mosley to
bet it in. Badgers pull even ten seconds into the second.
Speaker 3 (02:21:33):
Ryan Botterrell forced a steal backhand shot. Where is it?
It's in Wisconson scores to take the lead.
Speaker 4 (02:21:40):
Botterrel stole the puck low right, pitched it in front
of the net, and he gets the goal. Ryan Botterrell
makes it two to one. Now here's Montez on the
attack left wing. Tons of speed flies in, kicking a
shot off and wrapped it around and scored. He adds
Scarfhony leading ride. His speed carried it back behind the net.
(02:22:01):
Somehow he was able to reach out and tuck that
buck past the left state of Scarfoni.
Speaker 3 (02:22:06):
It's a two to two game.
Speaker 4 (02:22:08):
The Heartland, Wisconson native Max Montez beats the Badgers again and.
Speaker 3 (02:22:14):
It's left in the period. Carfamia heard of the net.
Speaker 4 (02:22:16):
Got around Falan, put the fuck between Scarponi's legs and scored.
Damian Carfagia one on one with the Badgers freshman defenseman
actually put the puck between Falen's legs and then caught
up to it and got enough of it to slide
it between Scarfoni's pads. Double wicket shot by Damian Carfonia.
(02:22:39):
It's three two buck eyes then Mark after it can't
pull it free. Fucked eyes have it. They're throwing it
towards the empty net and they finish it off. No
Captain Davis burnside an empty netter with ten point nine
seconds lefts and the final score was foward to two again.
Ohio State scored first Patrick Guzzo, the co captain, after
(02:23:02):
a steal by Jake Rosey, setting up Guzo for the
first goal of the game at eighteen to eighteen. Guzo's
eighth of the year won nothing Ohio State after one
period of play, but the Badgers tied at ten seconds
into the second. Rylan Moseley batting home his initial shot
for his fourteenth goal of the season, an unassisted goal
for Moseley, the fiftieth of his career on his twenty
(02:23:24):
fifth birthday, and then a minute twenty five later, Ryan
Botteril an unassisted goal It won thirty five, his fourth
of the year. The Badgers had a two to one lead,
but Ohio State rally to tie it. The Heartland native
Max Montes at five point fifty rapped one around beat
Scarfhony assist to Dylan Godbout and defenseman William Smith. Tenth
(02:23:46):
goal of the year for Montes, his fourth this season
against the Badgers. It was two to two after two
against Jack Horbach of Wisconsin and Nathan McBrayer for Ohio
State coincidental minors. Although it looked as if mcbray had
hit Porbock in the head along the boards, could have
been a Badger power play, but instead the referee said
(02:24:07):
matching minors, so a four on four sequence, and about
thirty seconds after those penalties were called, that's when Damian
Carfania came down the right wing. He put the puck
between Jack Falin's legs driving to the net, but Felan
recovered lifted his stick, the puck though was still sliding
toward the Badger's cage. Scarfoni reached out to poke it away,
(02:24:28):
but it slid under his stick, between his pads and
into the back of the net, Carfania his sixth goal
of the season. Davis Burnside got the loan assist at
the seventeen minute mark, it was three to Ohio State,
and then Davis Burnside finished it off with an empty
net goal at nineteen fifty is eleventh goal of the season.
Aiden Hansen Buketta got the assist on that empty net
(02:24:49):
goal for career point number one hundred for the former
Riit defenseman. Again the Badgers, if you look at statistics
other than the score, the Badgers played well in large
portions outplayed Ohio State thirty shots on goal for the Badgers,
Ohio State had only twenty. Wisconsin won thirty seven of
fifty eight faceoffs, Gavin Morrissey sixteen of twenty. But again
(02:25:12):
the Badgers, despite puck possession and more shots on goal,
scored only twice tonight and lose for the sixth time
in a row. Only eight goals scored during that six
game losing streak, and they've dropped eight straight here in
this building. In fact, you know, the Badgers just have
had a hard time against Ohio State two fifteen and
one in the last eighteen games here at the Shottenstein Center. Individually,
(02:25:36):
for Ohio State, we mentioned the goals scored by Patrick
Guzo and Max Montes and Carfagna and Davis Burnside, who
had a two point night with an assist of the
winning goaltender Christopher every stopped twenty eight shots with the win,
everly improved his record to twelve three to one Ohio
State twenty wins this season under Steve Rolick, they're twenty
(02:25:58):
eight and two twelve make that thirteen six and one
in the Big Ten and currently tied with Minnesota for
second place, three points off the lead. The Buckeyes will
