Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to the J and K Security Solutions basketball
postgame show. I'm your host Dave Gasper, joined by Nick
Bruce Wiz. Wisconsin Badgers fall on the road to the
Maryland Terrapins seventy six sixty eight. You can join the
conversation with us on the hot line six eight three
two one thirteen ten. Maryland is a hot team right now,
(00:20):
extending their winning streak to four games. They're a tough
team to play at home. Wisconsin gave them a battle
and led for more than half the game, but the
three point shooting wasn't as good as good the night
as it needed to be. John Blackwell was largely kept
quiet and this was a throwback Big Ten slugfest of
the game and Nick Maryland was able to take advantage
(00:42):
of an eleven to zero second half run to take
control of this game and keep it.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
This is a Maryland team that we knew was going
to be a tough battle for Wisconsin, coming in fourth
and fifth in the Big Ten standings. Today, Wisconsin with
the slight edge in the uh the win column to
say the losing column, one less loss in Maryland, and
they had just such consistent offensive output across the board
(01:09):
from their starting lineup right, So all five guys finished
in double digits and no one scores more than sixteen,
but no one scored less than twelve, right, So they
just had what it took in this battle to kind
of attack Wisconsin from so many different angles, and most notably,
Wisconsin never really found the three point stroke. John Tadjay
(01:30):
can't stop making threes, but the rest of the Badgers
ended up going just a disappointing four four nineteen from deep,
which is not good enough.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
No, and Max Klusman, who we've talked about before not
really being able to find his three point shot this season.
We've talked about on previous shows one of six tonight
for three. Max Clusbant won of eight overall from the field,
just five points for him as he's still struggling to
get going offensively. But yeah, the three point shooting was
not as good as it has been. I mean, we've
(02:02):
seen in the past couple of games and Wisconsin's shooting
forty five fifty plus percent from three point line, and
that's what Maryland did today. Twelve of twenty four. They
were exactly fifty percent from three, and that was really
kind of the big difference in this game with their
ability to shoot the three ball. Gillespie being able to
bank one in and that's when you know things are
(02:24):
going well for you when you're able to get it
off the bank, and Wisconsin just wasn't able to have that. Tanjay,
he was able to go. He was able to do
his thing. Twenty three points eight of sixteen from the field.
Just another great game from Tonjay. But Blackwell, John Blackwell,
the other John, he was largely kept quiet in the
first half of this game. John Blackwell was held to
(02:49):
zero points on zero shots, and that's just unusual.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Product of the two early folls for him, right, so
he had to sit for a great amount of the
first half. He plays a total of nine nine minutes,
which still in nine minutes you'd expect him to get
a shot up, which he didn't. But his foul trouble
early for Wisconsin didn't help. McGee wasn't really able to
come off the bench and put a lot of points
on the board. He finishes with nine, but even he
(03:15):
was limited to two shots in that first half. It
was a sluggish, rough start for both sides. No one
really found any sort of rhythm. Maryland was able to
get a couple of buckets late in the first half,
which really took momentum into halftime for them. But it
just wasn't It wasn't the best output by Wisconsin in
(03:36):
any measure. Right early, we thought that this may be
one of the worst free throw shooting performances for them
this year, and it ended up being that. But it
wasn't abysmal. Right, just over seventy percent from the free
throw line. They're a eighty plus percent on a given basis.
But it wasn't like they ended up shooting forty eight percent, right,
it was it was I mean, that would be egregious.
It wasn't like they shot sixty percent. It was seventy percent,
(03:59):
seventy one. But yeah, the Badgers just never really found
a way to allow their punch to not be met
with a CounterPunch, right, So it felt like Wisconsin was
gonna take it and run with it a couple of times,
and there were responses by Maryland. And then the Badgers
go on to nine to ozho run in the second half,
and it's immediately answered by a nine to zero run
by Maryland. Right, and credit to Maryland. Their three point
(04:22):
shooters kept getting open and they found ways to really
share in the success in the second half. And when
Wisconsin ends up shooting what they did from deep nine
of twenty seven, well, in the first half they were
six of sixteen, in the second half, they were three
of eleven. And on the flip side, when you consider
what Maryland did from deep five of thirteen in the
(04:44):
first half, seven of eleven in the second half, and
outside of Gillespie, no one would miss from deep. It
was all makes practically in the second half from the
three point range for the Terrapins. And the Badgers need
to win games like if they're gonna match what their
record suggests they are, if it's gonna be a dominant team,
(05:05):
if it's going to be a team that can contend
in March, and they will need to prove moving forward
when they're in another matchup like this that they can
win it. Because at this point in the year, Wisconsin's
got sixteen wins and you can't take that away from them,
but people want more and they want that signature win.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yeah, and I think the tough part two is playing
at Maryland for this one. When this game is on
the road, if this game was in Madison, at the
Cole Center, maybe a completely different story. Maryland this year
twelve and one on their home court, so it's always
a tough environment to go into and that just kind
of I think also played a factor in this game.
(05:42):
But yeah, I met Miguel for Maryland was electric from three,
four or five, and those were all twelve of his
points coming from beyond the three point line. And yeah,
that shooting was the difference. And going on that run
two in the second half, Wisconsin, I mean, Wisconsin came
out in the second half and they're like, Okay, we
(06:04):
got something going there. They're going a bit of a run.
They take a six point lead, and they have a
you know, as we kind of get going a little
bit more back and forth, Wisconsin has a five point
lead forty eight, forty three over Maryland there in the
second half, and then Maryland Harris Smith three, Gillespie three,
Rice three, Queen hits a jumper and it's an eleven
(06:24):
oh run very quickly and it goes from a five
point Wisconsin lead to a six point deficit and Wisconsin
was not able to lead from there. They got to
within a point after that, but they were not able
to tie or grab the lead after that eleven oh
run that Maryland went on and they just could not answer.
The momentum went on Maryland's side, with that crowd, with
(06:47):
that student section, that atmosphere, they just were not able
to answer. They were not able to get enough stops,
and it makes it tough for Wisconsin to win in
that kind of a road environment.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Yeah, I think that something that's going to kind of
float under the radar or go under the radar. Here
is the performance that Stephen krow put out there. Because
he only had ten points and the nine rebounds. There
will be debate for years if people really genuinely care
about how many blocks he had. Officially had one, but
I swear Matt Leape said at least three, if not
(07:20):
four times that there was a block by Stephen Krowell.
But that's going to go under the radar because people
will look at the box score and they'll see that
Queen Derek Queen had twelve points three or fourteen shooting.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Not great for the freshman big MANU night.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
But on the flip side, and really a conundrum here
when you consider the last name Julian Reese uber efficient
six of nine from the field, well You'll know his
older sister, Angel Reese, who's in the WNBA. She cannot
make a bucket to save her life on oftentimes right
poor efficiency shooter, so Julian took it from her. She
(07:54):
might even be his younger sister. I'm not one hundred
percent on that, but.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
I think it's sister. Usually not very four years of
college on the women's side, usually before they turn pro.
But yeah, Julian Reese uh fourteen points eight boards in
thirty minutes of game action. He's a big part of
Maryland's team and what they got going over there and
(08:20):
Maryland able to get the win seventy six sixty eight
over Wisconsin. I'd like to join the conversation. Can do
some on the hot line six eight three, two, one,
thirteen ten. We'll get some of that reaction on the
other side, plus fun facts with Dave, and later on
the show, we're going to have Nick Ostin from twenty
four to seven Sports join us as well. That's all
coming up. You're listening to Jane k Security Solutions, Fast

It's a Duke Crow refeats Blackwell with the Lesbie defense.

lay it up and in a little spin from Nolan

Dave Gasper here along with Nick Bruswiz. The Badgers fall
to the Maryland Tairpins seventy six sixty eight here tonight
(09:25):
and Wisconsin in a tough road environment. Maryland playing incredibly
well lately. Not too long ago they went out and
beat the breaks off of Illinois at Illinois ninety one
to seventy, so they've been on a bit of a
heater and in the latest AP Top twenty five pole
that was released on Monday, Wisconsin they jumped up to
(09:45):
seventeenth in the country. Maryland they're not ranked, but they
were one of the top receiving votes teams, so they're
basically around like twenty seventh in the country based on
the latest AP pole, so they're not in the top
twenty five. They don't have that number next to their name. Nick,
This is a team that's on the verge of it,
(10:05):
and after win like this, they're probably going to put
themselves in it next week.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
Yeah, I have to imagine you'll leave frog into the
top twenty five if Wisconsin can finish this week with
a win over Northwestern. I don't think the Badgers will
fall out of the top twenty five. It's a top
heavy Big Ten conference right now as everyone's trying to
find their footing. Michigan state, of course, right now two
above the competition in the lost column, nine to zero
(10:31):
in conference play. Next closest is Purdue at eight and two.
Clarify here for those out there, Yes, Angel Reese is
the older sibling Julian Reese. Her younger brother is on Maryland,
not far apart though in age just about ten months
or twelve months.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
That's a quick turnaround, all right.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Let me let me Claire thirteen months. I have run
the numbers.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Okay, math live on the air is always had dangerous.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
I was thinking she was born in May. He was
born in June. I had it backwards, but there, yes,
about a thirteen month difference. Hey, impressive siblings. The genetics
in that family when it comes to basketball are strong.
H that's pretty fun, right.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
Yeah, yeah, John Tonjay also had a fun night, leading
the Badgers with twenty three points, leading scorer in this game,
and he just continues his hot streak and Maryland had
to make a choice, you know, which which John are
they going to guard and try and try and stop.
They stopped John Blackwell largely, and they could not stop Tanjay.
(11:41):
But it all did work out for Maryland. They win
seventy six sixty eight, which is not as fun for
the Badgers, but it does lead us to our daily
our game after every game, our fun facts with Dave.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
Hey, have you ever heard me? Here's the term fun fact.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
I got a couple of fun facts here because.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
I have a fun fight. You're a fun fact, I do.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
First time in history this has happened that eight games,
five turnovers, and he's recorded thirty five assists. Spent a
long time since we've seen a game like this.
Speaker 6 (12:19):
The fun out here, This game's fun.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
Okay, if that fact is fun?
Speaker 7 (12:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (12:23):
Are you fired up? I'm fired up for fun facts
to day.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
All Right, We've got a couple of fun facts here
after this Badger's loss, and one of the facts maybe
isn't super fun, but Wisconsin. They were fifteen of twenty
one from the free throw line tonight seventy one percent,
which is their second worst free throw percentage in a
(12:51):
game this season. The only game that was worse was
when they played Illinois and lost. They were fourteen of
twenty one in that game. Is six and six percent
free throw shooting percentage. So not their best night at
the free throw line, but still Wisconsin one of the
top free throw shooting teams in the country. But this
(13:13):
was a below average night for them.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Yeah, really interesting stuff, right, So sixty six and seventy
one are their low water mark on the season, and
that feels like in average a couple of years ago
from the free throw line between sixty six and seventy one,
that's probably an exaggeration, but they've come a long way
and the players are making their free throws. It just
felt odd at times, especially when Klesnant went over in
(13:37):
the first half on two just bad shots.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Yeah, there were a couple of our fronts. He was
kind of like rubbing his hand on his jersey, being like, oh,
what was what was all that about? He was not
feeling it on that one. And our second fun fact
here on fun facts, with Dave Stephen Krawell with his
nine rebounds tonight now has seven hundred and seventy seven
in his career. That bolt up to ninth in program
(14:02):
history for rebounds. They're passing Alondo, Tucker and uh Crowd
now in sole possession of ninth place for rebounds. Next
up for him when he if he's going to move
up to eighth in franchise or program history for rebounds,
it's gonna be Tyler Wall with eight hundred.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
That is the next step his Minnesota buddy he'll pass.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
And then waiting after that, Nigel Hayes at eight oh two.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
Yeah, that he'll pass that one too. So hey, Steve's
moving up. He's been on the program now for five years.
He's had the opportunity to play a lot of minutes. Uh.
I think that again. I think he deserves his flowers
because tonight he was pretty solid on both ends of
the four the school.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Going up against two big men recent and Queen there
for from Maryland. It was a tough assignment, tough assignment.
He did well. I don't think unfortunately that Steven Crowd
is going and end up getting the top spot in
rebounds YEA in program history that one yeah, Ethan happed
at twelve hundred and seventeen. Uh that that would be
(15:10):
a lot of rebounds for Stephen Crowdy get yeah in
his final year.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
A impressive work by Ethan. He didn't have the benefit
of you know, being here for as many years or.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
As bitch had the five years, the COVID years and
things like that.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
They missed a lot of shots and you got a
lot of rebounds back then.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
He's Golan Winter and tried to go before he got possession,
lost it diving forward, tipped at the Blackwell Beach, Todd
Jay slam.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
Dunk a brock and play turns into a dunk.
Speaker 1 (15:41):

Dave Geffer here along with Nick Bruswitz, and we are
joined now by Nick Osen of twenty four to seven
Sports as the Badger's Fall to the Maryland Terrapins seventy
(16:02):
six sixty eight Here tonight and Nick john Tonjay just
continues his strong performances and what he and what he's
doing twenty three points here tonight, and he was a
leading he led Wisconsin here on the court. But it
just wasn't enough here tonight.
Speaker 6 (16:22):
Yeah, guys, absolutely, you know, another really really good game
from Tanja. I thought that his shot selection was pretty good,
his aggression was terrific. Obviously, over fifty percent from long
range is great. Twenty three points, six boards, and only
a couple of turnovers. You know, you'd maybe like to
see a little bit more playmaking, but like you said,
you know, just just not enough. And what was the
(16:45):
tough one, guys to maybe swallow from this one is
that this was a winnable game, you know, if you
make a couple more free throws or maybe some of
those kind of untimely, uncharacteristic turnovers. I mean, ten is
not you know, going to blow the doors off of
anybody for turnovers. But it just felt like there were opportunities.
And I was just kind of listening to some more
of coach Greg Guard's press conference from some of my colleagues,
(17:08):
and it just felt like there were even good looking shots,
you know, around the rim or opportunities that just didn't fall.
It happens, right, This was the game I told you, guys,
out of these next five that I felt kind of
the worst about for Wisconsin, but the fact that neither
team played at their a game, I just think this
could have been a great one to steal for the Badgers.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
So, Nick, when you look at this game and you
consider the final score, which is an eight point loss
for the Badgers, they end up leading this game for
twenty two minutes and forty nine seconds, so they led
more than half of the entire contest. Would you consider
this one that a game that Wisconsin let get away
or a game that Maryland took in won.
Speaker 6 (17:50):
That's a really good question, Nick, Yeah, I think just
because of where the game was played, the quality of opponent,
and the fact that it was certainly with in you know,
kind of a close margin throughout most of it. It
wasn't like Wisconsin, you know, blew it up fifteen points
or anything. You know. I'm definitely kind of okay saying
(18:11):
that Maryland came back and took this one. I think
that it was impressive. I think they showed some of
their debts and talent and really shooting ability, things that
they really needed to add in the portal. I don't
think it was like a terrible performance or anything from Wisconsin.
But it just felt like, again, it was winnable, Nick,
And if it was, you know, really up late for
(18:32):
these Badgers, I would be a little bit more concerned.
But like I said, Maryland kind of made their runs.
Wisconson came out tough in the second half, Maryland answers
and they just kind of grabbed a stronghold of it.
Both old teams, talented teams. Wisconsin should bounce back from
this one.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Yeah, they should, and they also should be getting more
from John Blackwell. On most nights Blackwell just ten points here,
but in that first half Blackwell was held just nine minutes.
Has he got into some foul trouble, but also zero
points on zero shot attempts and nig it feels like
that is just not a winning recipe for Wisconsin.
Speaker 6 (19:10):
Yeah, definitely not, Dave. You know this is it was
kind of an interesting start for star John Blackwell, right,
one or two early turnovers. I think the fouls certainly
got him out of rhythm. And he is very much
a rhythm player. Right. He can certainly shoot, but he's
not just to come in and kind of be a
knockdown shooter. He's not just gonna get it in the
(19:30):
post like he does a little bit of everything. But
something we've talked about, guys, with his game is he's
so much within the flow of the game and kind
of getting used to things. Okay, do I need to
be a playmaker here? Do I need to attack? Do
I need to score? So certainly not a recipe for success.
I just felt like at times, and I'm sure you
guys would agree with this, the whole team, or really
(19:51):
even the top three or four guys, they never seem
to all be in rhythm at once tonight, and I
think that that certainly just hurt. But again, I mean,
there's a reason that the Badgers were underdogs Maryland. I
think it's thirteen and one at home. Now, you know,
good team, tournament team, very tough at home. It was
a special night for their students out there as well.
So while I'm not looking to make any excuses, because
(20:12):
like I said, it was winnable, you know, I've actually
talked to a couple of my bracketologist friends and things
that know a little bit more about the postseason than
I do. This shouldn't hurt Wisconsin too bad. My concern,
guys is just making sure it doesn't kind of snowball, right,
because they do need to pick up one or two
quality wins up throw.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
Nick. I know this is not your favorite topic and
we talk about it often, but you know, Max has
really been fighting his shot this entire season. I mean
across the board, he's down ten percent in field goal
percentage in general and ten percent from deep. And now
we're twenty games in, Like, is this something that you
may see a shakeup that you would consider maybe moving
(20:55):
Kamari into the starting lineup and pushing Max to the
bench for some time. I know that's an extreme option,
but he's really struggled so far and we're twenty games in.
Speaker 6 (21:05):
Yeah, Nick, you know you know me well. I like
how you kind of preface that, Yeah, this has been
you know, a little bit kind of hard for me
to decipher, just because it was a little bit unexpected
for me. I think he's been dinged up at times,
and I do stick to what I've said about him
really just trying to figure out his role. But you know,
(21:26):
it was tough to see kind of some of that
shooting at times. Nick, Like you mentioned, I know some
people on my board have asked about kind of that
potential that you just said about maybe like a switch up. Man,
I just don't see it happening for a few reasons.
I think just because he is such a leader. I
think because of what his potential can be, and also,
quite honestly, I don't think that McGee's role is necessarily
(21:50):
that to come into the starting lineup and kind of
be that guy. I think he's so good at leading
that quote unquote second unit, but as the main guy
coming in as a spark, that's just really of my mindset.
But now you're spot on. I mean, I felt like
he shot eight times, you know, one out of eight,
I think six were probably good looks, and you just
(22:10):
expect him to hit some of those throughout his career.
So I personally don't expect something like that, Nick, But
I understand you know where you're coming from, and yeah,
it's something that you know, we're just about six seven
weeks from the big Dance, and you hope that it
gets cleaned up a little bit. I mean, I think
it's a little bit more than just mental at this point.
(22:30):
But I've still got some faith whether it's the staff
kind of getting creative or him just settle in. It
has to be turned around at this point for these guys.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Nickoson of twenty four to seven Sports, as always, we

Speaker 5 (24:13):
Coach, we'll start here.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Marilyn went on a fourteen to two run over about
four minutes in the second half.
Speaker 5 (24:18):
What'd you seeing? How were they able to do it? Well?
They made some shots, some of them, you know.
Speaker 7 (24:22):
We Gillespie banks into three, you know, and we had
chances when it was fifty seven to fifty six. I
think we ended up with a charge and then they
hit back to back threes.
Speaker 5 (24:34):
I thought we missed some point black shots too.
Speaker 7 (24:36):
We have several shots around the rim and when their
teams are pressing us like that or pressuring on the
perimeter to be able to break people down, and and
and even in transition we came two on one and
missed a layup.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
So those all those little things add up, you know.
Speaker 7 (24:50):
You you reflect back to the thirty some possessions in
the first half to make you know, things that we
could have done better to be in a better position.
Not Gotten Blackwell and tan Jay and foul trouble would
have help to keep us in our rotation, in our rhythm.
Speaker 5 (25:02):
But I'd like to where our guys battle. We out
rebounded them.
Speaker 7 (25:05):
We took better care of the ball in the second half.
But you gotta make some shots, you know, you got
we got some decent looks. Obviously from three. It's hard
to win on the road and you shoot thirty seven percent,
So all all little things that will call them out
of the out of the film and quickly turn around
and get ready for Northwestern.
Speaker 5 (25:23):
And you talk about shooting thirty seven percent.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
One of the things not to twenty two from layups obviously,
you know, close shots that you got to make it
in the margin of area is so small when it
comes to big template it is.
Speaker 7 (25:34):
You know, we had some point blank It is one
thing if you're missing shots through physical post up, post
defense and things like that, but we had some. You know,
we had a few layups where we just need to
convert and and put the ball up on the glass
a little bit better. And you know, characteristically, I think
we missed more free throws and we missed all year,
so he said, but you have to find other ways.
When we were right there. Uh, you know, I thought
(25:55):
the charge that Steve had was big. It was the
right call. But it's a one point game and we
can go or two point three point game, we can
cut it.
Speaker 5 (26:02):
And we had point blank and that just from there.
Speaker 7 (26:05):
I said, they hit back to back threes and then
we could never quite get our get it back under
control offensively.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
How'd you think you handled Maryland's pressure obviously got into
a little bit.
Speaker 7 (26:13):
Yeah, better, the better the second half. I thought we
were better the second half. First half, I thought, you know,
when we did drive and put the ball on the floor,
I didn't think our our decisions at times, we got
in there and fumbled it.
Speaker 5 (26:24):
We didn't play off two feet at times.
Speaker 7 (26:26):
That's the second half we were better and we were
able to get in the bonus pretty quickly and turn
some of that pressure against them. But you know, we
got to continue to you know, team's going to try
to take away threes from us and put us in
different scenarios offensively, so we got to continue to learn
from it. And when we do attack or we throw
it inside and that's another counter to the extended pressure.
And I thought we played pretty well at times through Steve,
(26:48):
but we got to be able to convert when we
do get the ball on the paint and when we
get to the foul line.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
Talk about the growth of you on the defensive end.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Obviously, Maryland they go with that high pick and roll
and you know, Gilossopie is really good and I talk
about nearly enough as far as what he does at
that point guard position, and then they've got two really
good bigs at roll. It puts a lot of pressure
on you defensively. How do you think you.
Speaker 5 (27:07):
Handled that overall? And I mean it was a tough spot.
Speaker 7 (27:09):
Yeah, there was a stretch. There was a stretch in
the second half where we didn't handle it well. And
you're kind of in a pickle there, Brian, because you're
trying to you have to scoot over it. At times
we mix it up going under. We went under a
couple of times. That's when we got him to bank.
He got him to bank. We got him to launch
a three and he banks it in.
Speaker 5 (27:25):
You know what it is. It's a hard because he's
so good at it.
Speaker 7 (27:28):
And then if you get elongated or go east west
with your bigs, which he did a couple of times
they're good at hitting the pocket or throw back to
one of the two bigs, and then they're playing downhill
on you. And uh, you know, I thought we were
okay in it and think we were great at times,
so that we loaded pretty well the start of the
second half. Miguel gets loose, we don't chase him white, right,
and then we filed three point shooters. So it gave
(27:49):
them some confidence and brought the place to life right
at the start of the second half. And you know,
those things we as part of the you know, sixty
some possessions that we got to continue to If you're
gonna win on the road against a really good team,
you can't have some of those miscues.
Speaker 5 (28:03):
Life in the Big Ten.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
You guys on the road again here on Saturda against Northwestern,
Not that you you know, have time to thought and
dive into a whole lot of Northwestern, but a brief
quick thought on that one.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
They're good. I mean they're good.
Speaker 7 (28:13):
I mean I've seen them enough on film because there's
been common opponents. You know, it's it's life in the
Big Ten. As you mentioned, there are any easy ones.
The get Well games finished in December, all right, thanks coach,
appreciate it, all right?
Speaker 5 (28:25):
Thanks man? All right?
Speaker 1 (28:26):
There was Badgers head coach Greg Gard talking with our
Brian Butch after the game and finishing up there talking
about Northwestern Wisconsin's next opponent. Northwestern currently down by eight
at halftime two Rutgers forty three to thirty five, but Nick,
Wisconsin also losing by eight here tonight, your final thoughts
(28:47):
on this Badger's loss.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Yeah, this one stings. This one felt like, as Nick
Osen mentioned, one that the Badgers had and that they
could win. You only have to hope that the Badgers
take this as a learning experience build off of a
loss like this. They're now two and four away untrue
road games this season. It's gonna be an opportunity for
them to try and get back on track on Saturday
(29:11):
on the road at Northwestern, something I think that they
can do and probably will do. But they got to
win one of these and Northwestern is not one of these.
They got to get a big win, I guess, a
Big Ten opponent that's above them in the standings. They'll
have opportunities coming up, Michigan State and Purdue on the horizon,
but starts with Northwestern Saturday.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
Go and get that win, yeah in Wisconsin. Then we'll
return home after that. But next up is the month
of February's when Wisconsin's gonna be playing next, and February
was where it's where things change, It's where the differences
are made in the season. We saw Wisconsin have troubles
with that month previously, so Wisconsin hoping to stave that
(29:52):
off this year as the calendar is going to flip
to February for their next game at Northwestern. That'll do
it for us here tonight to special thanks to Nick
Osen for joining us as he does after every single game.
Special thanks as well to Casey James, our producer, and
Nick Bruswitz. I am Dave Gasper. Once again. The final
(30:13):
score here tonight's seventy six sixty eight Maryland Wisconsin. We'll
be back in action on Saturday at Northwestern. That game
will tip off at one pm. Pregame coverage will begin
right here at noon, and then, of course, stay tuned
afterwards for the jan K Scurty Solutions Basketball postgame show.
Once again in the final score Maryland seventy six Wisconsin
sixty eight. This has been the jan K Security Solutions
(30:35):
Basketball postgame Show.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
Lauri probing steps back, tries the three, and it's off
the back of the rim and out. No good rebound
to Maryland, and the turns will turble, out the clock
in Maryland will leave the floor in an eight point winner.
Good college basketball game tonight, two teams who are very
(31:00):
very good in the Big Ten Conference, Marilyn protecting the
whole floor, winning at seventy six sixty eight
