Now here's Aiden Michael's and the Voice of Wisconsin Women's Hockey,
Paul Brown.

Speaker 6 (05:58):
And Hello everyone, Welcome them inside Lebon Arena here in Madison,
Wisconsin on ten to seventy. The game, my name is
Aiden Michaels. It's the second game of a two game
series here the opening weekend here at Lebon against the
University of Maine. The Black Bears. Head coach of that
Seemali Engstrom, former Badger, won some national championship here in Madison,
part of the Mark Johnson Extensive coaching Tree. Last night,

(06:21):
it was another slow start for the Badgers. We kind
of saw that in last weekend's matchup against Bamigie State.
Kind of waited to the last minutes of the first
period to get things going and then the flood gates
started to open in the second and third. It was
very similar last night. No goals in the first period
against Maine, but in the second period they added on
a couple. Laila Edwards, who led the nation last year
in goals thirty five goals and forty one games played

(06:42):
for her, she started the scoring last night from Maggie
Scannal and Landy Potter getting the assists, and then another
goal a few minutes later from Cassie Hall, one of
the more underrated players on this team, setting some career
highs last season in goals, assists, and points and getting
on the score sheet again last night. And then Adela
chapellon chop A Valley Vova, That's gonna be a tough one,

(07:02):
just seventeen seconds into the third period getting another goal,
the young freshman from the Czech Republic, making it three
to nothing. And then Vivian Jungles, the stalwart defenseman on
this Badger blue line, scoring to make it three nothing
for the Badgers last night or four nothing for the
Badgers last night. And then just how we started it,
Leila Edwards finishing it off with a goal in the

(07:23):
third period to make it five nothing and secure the
victory for the Badgers. Now we want to talk about
the goal scoring prowess, but how about the goaltending Now.
I made the mistake in last weekend's broadcast against Bumidgie
State by jinxing it, if you will, nearly jinxing it
when I mentioned the S word when talking about Ava

(07:43):
McNaughton heading into the third period. She was able to
get the job done. She was able to get another
one last night. I hope you guys know what I'm
talking about, because I don't want to spell it out
and jinx it before this game has started. But she
is looking to go for three in a row, so
that's gonna be big for her. Obviously, we know she
was splitting some time with legendary goaltender Jane Gervai a
couple seasons ago. Was named the full time starter last season,

(08:06):
played every single game and of course it looks to
be the same this season as well. So, like I said,
I'm not gonna say the S word, but keep an
eye out on that. She has been absolutely dominant so far.
On the other side for Maine, the goaltender Kia Lattinan
from Finland. She had her careers high in saves fifty
five saves last season against Wisconsin when they were number

(08:27):
one in the country. She had forty six saves last
night against the Badgers. She gets the start tonight again.
It's gonna be another tough test for her. She's been
absolutely incredible. Obviously, five goals led in. There's nothing you
can really do. We talk about this, and we've talked
about this many times and years past when playing against
the Badgers. A lot of goaltenders get their career high
in saves when playing against the Badgers. Because of how

(08:48):
many shots they face. Unfortunately for them, a lot of
those find the back of the net. So despite a
five nothing performance from the Badgers, Kia Latinan has some
stuff to be proudu oft. She made some good saves
last night, held down the fort for May and looking
over at Maine still Kendall sunby a player who has
won the Molly Angstrom Award three years in a row.
That's the best defensive player in the state of Wisconsin.

(09:11):
She's from Wisconsin, the only Wisconsin native playing for Maine.
And guess what she gets to do? Go play college
hockey in Maine under Molly Engstrom of course, one of
the more successful Badgered defensive players in Wisconsin history. And
we're gonna get some interview or we're gonna look at
an interview that I had with Molly Angstrom later on
in the game. And obviously Paul talked to Molly Aanngstrom

(09:33):
last night ahead of returning to Wisconsin, and she mentioned
how this isn't her first time playing against Mark Johnson's
BADGERI she did have a chance to play against them
in Maine last season, but it's just a surreal experience
for her to come back to le Lebonn, a place
that you know, or Madison at least the place that
she spent some time in and won a lot of
or a couple national championships in as well. And it's

(09:56):
just gonna be a great coaching matchup. We don't normally
tend to focus on hey, coaching matchups when looking at
these games, but this is just a special one for
both parties. But a big change in the lineup that
I want to mention. We've seen Laila Edwards play on
defense a couple times here at Lebron. She did it
a couple times last season. She obviously played on defense
with the national team this summer. She is getting a

(10:17):
start in defense tonight as well. We know her sister,
Shayla Edwards, who played a few years here at Lebron
in Madison on defense as well. Layla's a bit bigger
and she's been pretty good on defense, and we've seen it.
But it's funny because you look at the scouting report
if you're Maine and you see the player that led
the nation in goals with thirty five goals last season

(10:39):
and she's on the blue line, you might have to
double take. But that's someone that we have to keep
an eye out and perhaps look at in the power play.
The power play was zero for to last night. The
Badgers a very good power play team. They haven't quite
been able to get things going on the power plages yet.
We'll see if the story is different tonight. But for now,
we're going to take a quick break. This is Badger
Women's hockey here on ten seventy the game. We'll be

(11:00):
right back.

coach of the Badgers, Mark Johnson.

Speaker 21 (12:38):
We're with Mark Johnson.

Speaker 17 (12:40):
Game two against the Black Bearers of Maine marked a
lot of activity going on here last night. The environment,
the atmosphere was outstanding in terms of the team. Is
that a way to build unity, to be proud to
even show off to recruits and that kind of thing
From that perspective, How did.

Speaker 21 (13:00):
Go and what's it like? Well, I think it's all
all really good.

Speaker 22 (13:04):
It's a great way to continue our connection with the
community and sharing something that you know, they helped us
fulfill last year with win the national championship. So it's
a night of celebration not only for our players and
our players that graduated from last year's team, but with.

Speaker 21 (13:19):
The fans because they're a big part of what we
do here.

Speaker 22 (13:21):
So a lot of emotion, a lot of adrenaline, and
then we settled down and they got to watch a
pretty good hockey game.

Speaker 21 (13:29):
Hey Maine, I think gave you a battle and they
had outstanding goaltend.

Speaker 22 (13:35):
Yeah, she played well, you know, especially the first half
of the game where she was seeing a lot of pucks,
and they did a really nice job in their defensive zone.
As far as blocking shots, they you know, they were
in the twenty range of blocking shots and we had
another seventeen that missed the nets. So you know, you
have to do a better job of, you know, putting
pucks in areas where you can maybe have a little

(13:55):
bit of an advantage. But you give them credit. They
competed really high, you know, but they took away a
lot of things in our offensive zone, and eventually we
were able to capitalize on some things. But again, if
we come out today with a little bit more jump
and continue to move the puck and create some more chances,
hopefully the goaltender doesn't play.

Speaker 21 (14:14):
As well as she did yesterday.

Speaker 17 (14:15):
How about Ava McNaughton, She certainly settled in. She got
her fifteenth shut.

Speaker 21 (14:20):
Out already in her career, and that kind of thing.
As you've watched the progress with her, what do you
see and where's she at right now?

Speaker 22 (14:28):
Well, she's gotten so much better at being patient, a
word that if I'm a goaltender, I want to make
sure it's in my toolbox because you know, if I'm
patient and not moving too much, I'm in a position
maybe to stop pucks that I might not even see.
And so for her, she's become really patient. Obviously her
confidence is at a pretty high level. And you know
there's three, you know, situations with about four minutes ago

(14:50):
in the second period where you know, we gave them
some outnumbered situations and she made some nice saves on us.
So it wasn't an easy shut up by all means.
But hopefully today she'll have the same start that.

Speaker 21 (15:02):
She did she played yesterday. What are the positives you
took away from the game for your team.

Speaker 22 (15:07):
Well, anytime you play a game, you can take things away.
So we did a bunch of really good things. And
then there's always, you know, a spoonful of things, and
it's mostly the little things, whether it's trying to win
more face offs, being more competitive when there is a
face off. When I was telling the team, you know,
it's like everybody sees who wants to puck, so when
they drop it and we end up losing a face offs,
are we willing to go show everybody we want the

(15:29):
puck more than the other team does.

Speaker 21 (15:31):
So little things like that.

Speaker 22 (15:33):
You know, when you play games, you can take away
from it. It's about a lot of these little things
that you want to do. And if you're consistent in
doing the little things, you know, it just gives you
a better chance to win. So today, you know, the
emphasis is going to be on the first eight ten
minutes of the game and try to create as many
opportunities as we can. Play downhill, play with some energy,
plays so with some excitements and see if.

Speaker 21 (15:53):
We can capitalize early. Mark when you make line changes.

Speaker 17 (15:56):
I know it's based on the personnel and their strengths
and abilities kind of thing, But what are you looking
for and when you make those changes, For an example.

Speaker 22 (16:04):
Well the third period, if you're trying to figure out
our lines, you're probably a little challenge yesterday because it
was sort of smorgas boarder and you know, I was
moving people around in different positions just to try to
look at some things. And you know, if somebody's going
pretty well and they're not getting the ice time that
maybe they need, then you know you're giving them more
ice time. You're putting them in a couple of different scenarios.
And so, as I've always told the team, you know,

(16:26):
irrelevant where you're playing or who you're playing with, is
just play hard. And so the early part of the
season you're looking for a couple of things. You know,
you're looking for that consistent competitiveness and you know, can
we do it for sixty minutes? And then for us
as it's our ability to communicate with one another, and
so it forces them. If I'm aligned with some people
haven't played with, I got to communicate with them. And
the better job we do in those areas, the better

(16:48):
job we are as a.

Speaker 21 (16:49):
Team, and it becomes irrelevant of who.

Speaker 20 (16:51):
You're playing with.

Speaker 21 (16:52):
Always a pleasure, coach, good luck, thank you, enjoy the game.

Speaker 8 (16:56):
Again PB with the head coach or the Wisconsin Badgers
march outson, all right, stay with us. Coming up next,
we'll head live to Labon Arena. Paul Brown and Mark
Greenhall will take you the rest of the way tonight.
Brad Berg will keep you updated with some highlights during
the intermissions. Tonight, stay with US Wisconsin Women's Hockey. The
Badgers and Black Bears of Maine are next as we

(17:17):
continue our countdown till they dropped.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
The puck tonight.

Speaker 8 (17:21):
This is Wisconsin Women's Hockey, presented by Oak Park Place,
Independence when you want it, Assistance when you need it.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
On ten seventy the game, we're.

Speaker 17 (17:33):
Back at Lebon Arena. There's going to be a short
presentation coming up here. The Black Bears of Maine have
already been introduced to another sellout crowd. The way it looks,
the Wisconsin Badgers, they're going to be introduced in a moment.
But Breda Curl, I believe, is going to come out

(17:53):
and receive some recognition.

Speaker 18 (17:56):
What do you remember about her career?

Speaker 23 (17:58):
I'll tell you what I was said to her. I
remember the first day I saw her out here. She
was a freshman. We were having like an inn little
inner squad game, and she kind of a scrimmage and
she was in front of the net making stuff happen,
popping the puck in the net and battling. She was
a freshman. I didn't know her name or anything. I
said to Mark. After a little bit, I go, hey,
who's number seventeen. I goes, she's doing all kinds of

(18:20):
good stuff. He says, yeah, I know, he goes. My
plan was the red shirtar this year, but I can't
keep her out of the lineup. Yeah, that's a true story.

Speaker 18 (18:28):
A wonderful career.

Speaker 23 (18:29):
Yeah, just a wonderful human being, a great player.

Speaker 18 (18:33):
Yeah, she'll drop the ceremonial puck here.

Speaker 17 (18:36):
I believe before this game Brenda Curl, her younger sister,
is in the lineup, starting defensively for the Black Beards
of Maine.

Speaker 18 (18:46):
So the family has a history of hockey. But what
about that singing career?

Speaker 23 (18:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 18 (18:52):
You ever hear her sing?

Speaker 23 (18:53):
I have, And she's written her own songs which I
can'dn't know and I couldn't believe it. When I first
I didn't know it was her, and they said, yeah,
that's Britta and she wrote that song too. It was
just beautiful, great voice.

Speaker 18 (19:07):
Wisconsin Badgers are being introduced.

Speaker 17 (19:10):
Lannie Potter will open up defensively with Leyla Edwards and
Wisconsin's forward line, and they're going to open with Cassie Hall,
Gorbatanco and Scannal. We'll be back with the opening faceof
after this time out. This is Badger Women's Hockey on
ten seventy B game.

Several hours later, James has even caught the attention of

Oh thanks, mam, I love you too.

Speaker 25 (20:22):
And I never said that at Gaines Simp Boosters, Tor
Laundry at Joy to your Day.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Number one on your car radio preset hand the new
and improved. Iheard radio app wtsoam Madison, we are ten
seventy The gang free never sounded so good. This is
Wisconsin Women's Hockey presented by Oak Park Plays.

Speaker 17 (20:45):
And Brenda Curl has just participated in the dropping of
the puck KK Harvey and Brenda Curl did the ceremonial drop.

Speaker 18 (20:55):
Yeah, And I tell you what, it's kind of cool
to watch all the activity going on surrounding this team.

Speaker 17 (21:02):
And uh, the national anthem uh is going to be played,
so we'll pick it up here and uh we'll be
back and uh we'll just hang on and listen to
the anthem here for a minute. Wisconsin Badgers come into

(22:08):
the game with a three and oh record. They're three
and oh in the WCCHA the Black Bears of Maine,
they come in with a record of oh and three
looking for their first win.

Speaker 18 (22:20):
The coach is Molly Angstrom and now.

Speaker 17 (22:22):
In her fourth year, forty one victories to her credit,
sixty losses and seven ties. But as you mentioned last night, Greenee,
progress is being made with that program. They're getting a
lot more competitive and you can see some of what
Molly's philosophy as a player and what she developed as

(22:44):
a coach. She's starting to get him to buy in
and believe.

Speaker 23 (22:48):
Yeah, she's made quite an impact in a pretty short
span of time here. I didn't get an opportunity to
talk to her last night after the game, but I
will today. And it's really impressive to see the program
that she's put together out there in Maine, because they're
solid and they're only going to get better.

Speaker 17 (23:04):
And the Wisconsin Badgers are gathered around there goaltender Aba McNaughton,
who's in her sixty eighth appearance for the Badgers. Her
record is fifty nine four and two, her say percentage
better than ninety four percent, her goals against average is
one point twenty nine, and she has fifteen shutouts in

(23:26):
her career, including the last two times she's been between
the pikes.

Speaker 18 (23:32):
The Badgers will open up in the first.

Speaker 17 (23:34):
Periods getting from our right to our left, and the
Black Bears of Maine they will skate from our left
to our right out as the line of Jacob along
with Toadwell and border. For the Badgers, it's Gorbatanko, haul
and scandal and we're underway and the puck goes back

(23:54):
down back in the black Bear zone, goes around over
to the far side. Cassie Hall over to try and
pick it up. Gorba Tanko comes over to help out,
turning with it as pod Well trying to bring it out,
held in by Leyley Edwards. Here's Edwards moving it in
stick handling toward the net. Lost control of the puck
and Maine will set it up along the back wall

(24:15):
and the Badgers zone and the break they turn and
try to come out with Sunbea and at neutralized Potter
with it, played it back in of the line. Maine
drops it back in their own zone. Curl on the
break coming up. Weiss trying to lead it through traffic.
Mi show had it broken up back in over the line.
It's a chap bolde Bova and it comes back around

(24:38):
in the farest there's number one time. Yeah, already coming
over to try and set it up, and the play
back to the point was counting over to set it up.
Here's Kk Harvey with it with a drive and the
glove save into the pads of the Latinen the goaltender.
She's six nineteen and one in her career, her safe

(24:59):
for percentage better than ninety percent. Her goals against Stambridge
at two point eight eight, and she's got a couple
of shutouts.

Speaker 23 (25:09):
Yeah, she's as solid as you're gonna find.

Speaker 17 (25:11):
Paul shapovole a Boba is out along with Eden and Sims.
Simms had three assists in the game last night. Shappy
had two and Eden had a couple of points as well.
Lay along the boards on the near side, laid back
down around the boards over to try and pick it
up with it as Brit Britt sliding it out, slides

(25:32):
all the way back down to the Badger zone, and
we'll have an icing called against the Black Bears that'll
draw the face off back in their zone. Both teams
will change up lines. Coming out is En right along
with Picard and Halderson for the Badgers. Back defensively, it's
Abra Murphy and Venusio fasof to the left side of

(25:54):
Latinen as she looks out from Gold comes around over
to Abra Murphy with a drive in traffic comes back
to the point on the plate of Murphy quickly around
over the Manusio, who's bumped along the boards by Stevenson.
Badgers look to hold the zone. Stevenson tried to bring
it out. Wisconsin back in behind. Halverson shuffles it around

(26:17):
on the near side. It comes back to the point
and Maine with it, trying to set it up to
clear it. Wisconsin dumps it back down in the corner,
chasing it back as brit Britt paired defensively with Pong.
As they set it up to come out of the zone.
They break it through on the lead pass. They tried
to hit Worm, but it didn't connect to Wisconsin comes

(26:38):
back in over the line, controlling it, trying to move
in out for the Badgers. The line of Halberson, per
Card and enright in the neutral zone over to set
it up and it's going to be played back and
it's kicked away by Lattinen away from the net and
the Pekin Hogen trying to pick it up.

Speaker 18 (26:56):
Peekin Hog and Finley and Zilly shout for his conson.

Speaker 17 (27:01):
Maine with it back deep in their own zone, fung
with it behind the net around on the play, the
Black Bears lead it out towards center ice in the
neutral zone, near side, turned around, Badger's coming in. Here's
Peakin hogging with it centered the buck, nobody in the slot.
It's going to be turned back. Maine comes out of
their own zone and they'll play it down on the

(27:23):
corner on the left side over trying to control it,
and that's going to be set up. Podewell out with
border and Jacob and Wisconsin back and they'll regroup in
their own zone.

Speaker 18 (27:34):
We're in the first period, no.

Speaker 17 (27:36):
Score in the game, sixteen forty six. Reminting in the period,
Badgers turning out. They come Peakin hogging with it, bumped
it in over the blue line. Maine will regroup four checking.
There was a scandal trying to hold the zone and
it's going to be angled off the sidewall and the
Badgers try to clear it out of their own zone

(27:57):
with it KK Harvey. Harvey pulls up still back in
the Badger's zone, slides it out over the Gorbatanco on
the left wing comes in over the line. Show it
just deflected wide of the goals off a good opportunity there,
he sure did. Harvey back over to pick it up
for Wisconsin. Paired defensively with jungles, Badgers turned. They try

(28:18):
to control the puck back in their own zone on
the near boards, and Wisconsin and Maine both at full
strength tearing it in over the line as me show
shot in. McNaughton cover it up and made the same
in scoring. The Badgers have scored a total of four
goals in the first period and Maine as was shut

(28:42):
out here last night, based off coming up to the
left side of McNaughton and going back over the Badgers
ave or Murphy with it sliding it out on the break.
Here comes Eden in over the line with sim Eden
pulls up moving.

Speaker 18 (28:58):
In it in back door backhander. Wow, it's turned away,
but what a beautiful setup, great puck movement.

Speaker 17 (29:05):
Wow, they almost have got an open back door sliding
goal there, and it's going to be played back down
on the corner. Going back up to pick it up
around on the far side. Back in the zone. Maine
trying to hold the zone. Jacob out with Codewell and
border and back defensively. Wisconsin trying to hold the point

(29:28):
with Ava Murphy, but Maine sets it up on.

Speaker 18 (29:30):
The near boards. Badgers hold his zone.

Speaker 17 (29:33):
They got Sims in the slot with it as eating
Eden with the backhanders went through traffic in the crease.
Back over to Murphy with a shot stick saved, cleared
to the far side. Jacob back in behind the net
over to try and control it. Here's Eden down on
the corner on the right side, controlling the puck, slotting
it back to the point.

Speaker 18 (29:53):
It comes around.

Speaker 17 (29:54):
There's a shot deflected away, fired by Edon off the boards.
It's picked up and control buy per card Wisconsin controlling
the puck in the zone, looking for the outlet on
the pass. Shot in front blocked their good hustle on
the part of the Badgers holding it in Alverson back
over the per card over to Venusio around on the

(30:16):
far side Wisconsin at the far wall. Shot deflected away,
good pressure, shot fired right on into the paths. Badgers
still control the puck. Venusio with it off on the wing.
Nice job on this line for the Badgers to hold it,
but they give up the path and Maine clears it

(30:36):
and they'll circle and backhanded down on the corner of
the Badger zone. Fourteen oh three remaining in a scoreless
first period. No penalties called in the game. Eight shots
for the Badgers on goal Maine with a total of
one flipped into the Badger bench and we have a
stoppage of play that last shift.

Speaker 23 (30:55):
There was some great puck movement until the Badgers were
keeping it in the offensive zone and got a few
shots on net. Is a great puck movement.

Speaker 17 (31:04):
And boy they can. It's fun to watch them. It
is in terms of the speed and the passing and
that kind of thing.

Speaker 18 (31:14):
They got a lot of talented players on this team,
you know.

Speaker 23 (31:20):
The people without the puck nowhere to go to. Yeah,
they got themselves open and it's for a good offensive pressure.

Speaker 17 (31:27):
They work a lot on that in practice, don't They
yep around on the far side over to try and
control it just outside the Badger line. Leila Edwards got
a couple of goals last night playing out of the
defensive position, and we're gonna have an icing called in
the Badgers Layla back at the blue line with Potter.

(31:47):
Layla with a couple of goals on the year, four
points total led the country in goal scoring last year.
With thirty five Badgers changing up, Peking Hogging is out
for Wisconsin along with McCarthy and Zillish, and the play
along the boards. The Badgers down in the corner in

(32:09):
behind Lela, Edwards turn try to bring it out of
the zone, comes back into Layla behind the net of Wisconsin.
On the break, the Badgers flip it out towards center ice,
intended for pekin Hogen and pekin Hogen trying to take
it away from Worm. They come in over the line,
play back in behind and Wisconsin trying.

Speaker 18 (32:29):
To pick it up in the neutral zone.

Speaker 17 (32:31):
Puck is loose, pekin Hogen will dump it and the
Badgers will change up around the boards. On the near
side in behind the net for checking is Gorbatanko along
with Scandalon Hall Good.

Speaker 18 (32:44):
They hold the zone there.

Speaker 17 (32:46):
Bang it off the boards, over the thong in the corner,
trying to hold it while thirty four aremitting in the period.
Play around on the near side. Back down in the corner,
Gorbitanko over trying to control. Maine sets it ups intercept
at center ice. Gorbatanco comes back into the line, break
into the net. Gorbatanco backhander in the save, went up

(33:09):
behind the net and it's going to be controlled. Bats
over to set it up Gorbatanco. There's a drive of
a shot blocked in traffic and the puck is going
to be angled around on the far side, over the hall,
back over the scandal. It comes to Jungles. Jungles with
it along the boards over the try and pick it up,
and it's going to be played at center ice. Wisconsin,

(33:31):
eleven fifty two, remitting in the period. Back in of
the line comes Scandal on the near board. Shot it
off the boards that hall, tried to pick it up
along the back wall around the point. It slides all
the way back out over the center ice where Jungle
will control, leaving it for Harvey. Here's Harvey cutting it
on the right side. Harvey with the puck, trying to

(33:52):
get between the dots, fire shove. Harvey the first stole
of the air and was touching one to nothing.

Speaker 18 (34:05):
Nice goal, KK Harvey Man.

Speaker 23 (34:07):
She just took that puck through the neutral zone, Paul
down the right wing, gaining speed all the way, then
cut across about top of the circle into the slot
and ripped a nice shot for our first goal of
the day. Great job by KK Harvey making that happen. Man,
oh man, what a plate displaying all her skills there,

(34:28):
you know, skating in her hands.

Speaker 17 (34:31):
And they're handling with a puckat and you did just incredible.
Nobody could stop her and it's one nothing. KK Harvey
gets the assist. Jungles picked up the assist on the goal.
I don't know if they gave him another one or not.

Speaker 23 (34:48):
Man, that was quite an effort.

Speaker 18 (34:50):
Yep, Jungles the assess.

Speaker 17 (34:52):
Badger's laded one to nothing here in the first period,
eleven six formating in the period, laid back in behind
the at Wisconsin. Now with pressure, no penalties called in
the game. The shots are eleven to one in the period.
Now along the board the chant of one we want more? Yeah,
no surprise there. Here's Sims with it moving between the dots,

(35:15):
taken down, coming up Ice trying to control it.

Speaker 18 (35:18):
Badger's work it back Eden over to pick it up,
beIN over the line with it as Sims.

Speaker 17 (35:23):
Here Sims moving in shot and it was deflected away
by the goaltender.

Speaker 23 (35:30):
Yeah, good idea shot from the slot and.

Speaker 17 (35:32):
Coming back up ice, back over to set it up
in control with it is Helberson back in over the
line and trying to move it towards the net. Was
en right played back on the wing and Wisconsin over
to try and control it. As Wisconsin had the lead
here at eight point thirty one into the period, and

(35:56):
play continues and going back over to control it. Badger's
back of to set it up for Card comes out
of the zone with the play with help from Edwards,
slides it out of the brake that's intercepted in the
neutral zone. Scramble for the puck in front of the
Badger bench, Leylea Edwards on the far side, comes rink
wide to the near boards. Badgers come over to retrieve it,

(36:18):
work it up the near wing through center ice. They
dump it back down in the corner. Maine going back
over to set it up with it as Rusinski and
the Black Bears will play at the length of the
ice and it's going to go behind the net. Worked
around the boards, over trying to control it. Wisconsin at
center ice over to try and pick it up, dumps

(36:39):
it back down in the corner. We're gonna take a break.

Speaker 17 (37:20):
The Badgers have nine oh two remeding in the period
shots fro twelve to one in front of the black
beards of Maine. Wisconsin in their own zone, trying to
get it out of the zone. Pressure by worm laid
back in behind the that Wisconsin will regroup in their
own zone. It comes around over the Pekinhagen and just

(37:40):
outside the blue line. Wisconsin will set it up on
the play and they control it. Zillish with it comes
to the blue line, plays it in over the line,
Potter carries it down deep in the zone, worked away
from brit Wisconsin, back handing it toward the net. Gorbatenko
and play will be stopped. He we're gonna take a break,

(38:04):
so we'll take your next break. We have eight twenty
six for Medican. The period shots are thirteen to one.

Badger football this afternoon over at ann Arbor, Michigan, the
Wolverines defeated the Badgers by a score of twenty four
to ten.

Speaker 18 (39:32):
We have eight twenty six for menting here.

Speaker 17 (39:34):
In the first period, Badger women's hockey leading Maine by
a score of one to nothing on the goal by
KK Harvey or first of the year in Vivian Jungles
getting an assist on the goal on both teams still
at full trink, Gorbatanka was out with Hall and Scannell
back defensively, it's Potter and Leayley edwards for the Badgers.

(39:55):
There's a shot high and wide of the goal. That
one was good opportunity. Yeah, probably their best of the
period right there. That's a little mustern on it. Yeah,
face off will come up back in the Wisconsin zone.
What do you think of the first period so far?

Speaker 23 (40:09):
Well, we've had pretty good puck possession. The shots obviously
are really one sided in our favor there, but you know,
we've only got one goal out of the deal. Again,
we got lotin in a goal for Maine, and she's
a heck of a goaltender.

Speaker 17 (40:23):
You know, Badgers are leading in face offs five to four,
shots are thirteen to one at this point. Badgers continue
to pick put up big numbers on shots. They're averaging
over forty a game so far this year. They did
that last year too. Yeah, Coming up ice, controlling it,
Badgers come in over the line along the boards and

(40:45):
out as the number one line of Chapel Boulet. Boba
along with Eden and Sims play along the boards on
the far side in front of the main bench. Wisconsin
trying to pick it up. That line had a toe
of seven points last night. Coming back into the line
controlling it, Eden with a shot gathered in by the

(41:06):
goaltender Latin and that'll force the face off.

Speaker 18 (41:10):
Coming up in the zone of the black Bear.

Speaker 23 (41:13):
They shot by Eden from the left point there, but
latinin sees the puck well through traffic and is able
to glove it.

Speaker 17 (41:19):
They have a face off to her left here, Ava,
Murphy and Venusio come out defensively. Sims up front with Chapeau,
Volvova and Eden stays out on the ice and the
puck is going to be played along the pords on
the near side, Wisconsin in control, waned to nothing. They
give it on the pass, turning down on the corner

(41:41):
on the near side Eden behind the net. They've got
Sims working the wing on the near side. Sims controlling
the puck between the dots, moving it around, drops it
back to the point to Bnusio Venusio with a shot
in traffic. Sims turned got control of it. She's really
a heads up player. And yeah, in terms of controlling

(42:02):
the puck right looking for the outlet on the pass, Yeah,
she buys time and space well, you know, looking for
that opportunity controlling it and the play continues back into
the line, comes back to neutral ice in a one
to nothing game six forty remedic in the period and
turning in with it as thong coming out of the zone.

(42:23):
Britt player plays with a loong on that defensive pairing
play in the Badger zone in the corner, a border
out with Podewell and Jacob's for Maine around the boards
and ride out now with Percard and Helderson for the Badgers.
Six seventeen remedic in the period. It's one nothing. Badger's

(42:45):
in the neutral zone trying to control the puck. Alberson
overskated it and Murphy came over to help out. Enrod
tried to advance it and with it per Card and
angled it off the sidewall, rolls back in behind the
net of Maine, picked up by a hustling Badger there
around over to Potter, back over to Edwards.

Speaker 18 (43:04):
Shot that hit may have hit the pipe. I'm not sure.

Speaker 23 (43:08):
She puts a lot on it, man. She lets that
puck go from the right point just above the top
of the circle and gets a lot on it every time.
You know, and that traffic, anything can happen.

Speaker 17 (43:19):
Yeah, face off coming up, Badger's controlling it. Scandal Hall
and Gorbatanco out shot by Potter, block Goorbitanko behind the net.

Speaker 18 (43:32):
Scandal working in front of the goal with Hall. Badgers
try to hold it in and do Leila.

Speaker 17 (43:37):
Edwards didn't get off the backhander and slides it back
to the point. Potter with a drive that's blocked in traffic.
Maine turned and tries to clear it up the far board.
Stevenson controls it. Whoa they had somebody all alone the
me show in front of the nat YEP, but badgers
turn it away five twenty five aremitting in the period.

Speaker 23 (44:00):
Yeah, I'm glad they able picked it clean there because
they could have had a rebound head. She not controlled it.

Speaker 17 (44:06):
Ava McNaughton, a junior six footer out of seven Fields, Pennsylvania.
Nice career going for the Badgers. Mark talked about as
you did Greenny. She's developed a lot of patience in goal. Yeah,
controlling it and coming over trying to pick it up.

(44:27):
When a coach says that, what do you guys mean, Well,
so they don't commit too soon.

Speaker 23 (44:32):
You know they don't. They don't drop down before the shots,
at least per.

Speaker 18 (44:36):
Se and Aiden taken down.

Speaker 17 (44:39):
We're going to get our reply of the game, cooking
holding whatever Badgers are going to.

Speaker 18 (44:45):
Go on the power play, well we'll take that.

Speaker 23 (44:50):
Just Lacey Eden kept her feet moving driving to the net,
drew that penalty, forced the main defender to drag her.

Speaker 17 (44:58):
Down fifteen oh two the time of the penalty. Badger's
on the power play. They're zero of two so far
this season and going to the penalty boxes. Brit So
Wisconsin on the power play and the horses are out there,
the big gun, so to speak, that is Eden along

(45:21):
with Edwards KK Harvey, Sims and Chapel vol A Boba
on the power play setting get up controlling it. Wisconsin's
KK Harvey, She's got the goal of the game. Fired
it off the back wall, picked up by Leyla Edwards
around over the Sims down in the corner. Sims controlling

(45:42):
the puck on the near side, near boards, comes to
the point in the past Badger's regroup, KK Harvey just
inside the blue line. On it through and slid wide
in traffic. Angled off the back wall and KK Gates
all the way back.

Speaker 18 (45:57):
Quickly turns Yeah, plays it. Who leaves it there?

Speaker 17 (46:01):
Moving get in Sims with a drive and this cover
up saves Buy Luttinen.

Speaker 23 (46:07):
Straight shot by Sims there again preceded by a lot
of good puck movement.

Speaker 17 (46:14):
Nice shot four h nine remitting in the first period,
one twelve reminting in the penalty time. Gorbatanco will try
to win the face off. The draw comes back over
to Jungles around on the far side, Jungles just inside
the blueline.

Speaker 18 (46:29):
They go back door over the hall with a drive
in front.

Speaker 17 (46:32):
There's a check on Gorbatanco, but covering it up is
Lutinin and they force the face off in the zone
of Maine to the right side of the goaltender, Jungles
and Gorbatanco's still out on the ice. That draw works
and Jungles on the play. Here's Cassie Hall, all controlling
it on the near circle. Little given go Scannal try

(46:55):
to go back over to gorbatankle. Scannal slides it on
the brake. Here's Hall the shot deflected in the corner,
chipping on the back wall, trying to control it.

Speaker 18 (47:05):
Maine trying to bring it out.

Speaker 17 (47:06):
Badgers hold it in, Potter with it, plays it down
in the corner on the far board sunby turn and
they'll dump it down to the Badger's zone. With three
twenty nine remaining in the period, Wisconsin comes out of
the zone, coming up ice, looking at the clock. Twenty
five seconds remaining in the power play. They work it

(47:27):
in over the line, Potter along the boards, just inside
the line.

Speaker 18 (47:31):
At the point it's Jungles.

Speaker 17 (47:34):
Back out on top to Potter with a drive and
a body block, and Wisconsin is out of time and
six more seconds. They're going to lose control of the
power play in the time, one nothing goal. The Badgers
the goal of the game at eight thirty one of
the period, KK Harvey or first of the year, Vivian
Jungles getting her first desisted the year, or pardon your

(47:57):
second assist of the year.

Speaker 23 (48:01):
Yeah, we had a couple of good shots on this
power play, but huh didn't convert zero for two so
far on the season. Whops.

Speaker 17 (48:10):
Not a lot of penalties in the first three games
of the year. In fact, you don't get that many
coming in over the line. Potential two one one back
my just missed by McCarthy.

Speaker 18 (48:22):
Good shot, just little high yep, just a little bit
nice setup yep.

Speaker 17 (48:27):
And Venusio with it on the far boards, tried to
move it and did rink wide to the left point,
dumped down on the corner.

Speaker 18 (48:34):
Was there's a check along the boards.

Speaker 17 (48:36):
McCarthy in behind the Pekan Hogen Pekan hogin with it
and McCarthy and also out of the ice is per
Card and PERCRD holding it in. Percard with it procured
with a backhand or tipped in front of the goal,
and it's bumped up by Maine, held in by the Badgers.
Shot from the point block and back comes the Black

(48:58):
Bears me show with it dumpsy down in the Badger
zone whoops with two oh oh wow, they're gonna get
Aba Murphy. I don't know if they yep, interferrence or boarding.

Speaker 23 (49:09):
I actually, you know, not to be one sided here,
but it looked like the main player lost in edge,
you know, not so much a result of contact, and
she just slid into the wall the last couple of
feet of the rink there, and but Murphy was right
next to her. They're gonna get her.

Speaker 17 (49:26):
For seventeen fifty three into the period, the power play
opportunity coming up from Maine and the Badger penalty killing
unit will have to go to work.

Speaker 23 (49:40):
Yeah, they're gonna sit Murphy down. I don't know if
they got her for a check there or what they
called it, but two minutes in the box for her with.

Speaker 17 (49:47):
Two oh five remitting in the period, Badger's on the
penalty kill back in their own zone. They haven't played
in their own zone a lot in this period. No,
and coming over to trying to pick it up along
the boards, goes back in behind the net. Jungles flipped
it around of the brake and it's going to go
all the way back down in the zone.

Speaker 23 (50:06):
Yeah, wisely sent it the full length.

Speaker 18 (50:08):
Of the ring penalty kill n Right is out on
the light on the ice.

Speaker 17 (50:13):
KK Harvey is out, Jungles is out and h Schapo
bol Avova is also out, and it's going to be
played back down in the corner and Wisconsin angles it
off the back wall to clear it out. KK Harvey
dumps it the length of the ice and coming back
over for Maine to set it up. They regroup in

(50:35):
their own zone. Hansome on control on the play ahead.
They go to me show to the blue line of
Wisconsin as Jacob tried to pick it up. Badgers turn
and they'll chip it out on the near side, rolls
back down in the corner. The chase is on as
Chapeau bowl a Beva tried to beat Misho to it,

(50:56):
and it's going to be played back down in the corner.
We have one minute man in the period, forty five
seconds remitting in the power play four Maine one nothing.
Badgers lead the Black Bears. They'll dump it back in
the corner. Shots are eighteen to two in the period
along the board's near side, coming over to pick it up. Rusinski.

(51:17):
Rusinski controlling it, slides it ahead on the brake, coming
in over the line as Border the right winger fired
it rink wide all the way across the ice and
it's going to be chipped away, picked up by Maggie
Scannal scandal taken down. Cassie Hall tried to help out
and hold his own. Cassie gets it back, carries it
in over the line. Here's Cassy with it moving right

(51:39):
out in frow. Nice move, but just was forced wide
as she tried to go toward the crease on the
goal again, back in front, backhander by Scannel.

Speaker 18 (51:51):
She had an open net right scandle in front.

Speaker 17 (51:54):
There's another drive and good pressure at the end of
the period. Yes, eighteen shots on goal for the Badgers.
One goal up from the board by KK Harvey, her
first of the year.

Speaker 23 (52:07):
Your thoughts, Greening, Well, I'll tell you we had good
puck possession. But like I said before, I don't mean
to sell like a broken record, but Latin's gonna make
you earn every goal you get. There she's keeping it
out of the net. So even though that big margin,
shot wise, one nothing score and.

Speaker 18 (52:23):
We'll be back. This is Badger women's hockey. On ten
seventy the game.

Speaker 19 (52:28):

our free iHeartRadio WAB powered by Gruber Law.

Speaker 20 (54:21):
One call, doll injured, Remember one call, That's all.

Speaker 6 (54:31):
And welcome backed inside Levon Arena here in Madison, Wisconsin.
I made Michael's here on ten to seventy of the game,
first period gone here in Madison in the opening home
weekend of women's hockey, the title defense for the Wisconsin Badgers.
Who was the banner raising night last night? And I
can tell you what They're gonna have to make room
for a couple more in the next few years, I think.

(54:53):
But the Badgers didn't score in the first period last game.
They did tonight and it was Caroline Harvey, captain Airline
Harvey getting on the board her first goal of the season.
She already has four assists this season. Now she lights
the lamp. Badgers had a power play in the first period,
and as we talked about in the pre game, they
couldn't get things going. It was a slow star for

(55:14):
them on that front, and it's something that they need
to work on. The Badgers event, like I said, so
good on the power play in recent games going into
last season, but as far as this season goes, they
haven't been able to get it done. Lots to work
on that front, and Laila Edwards not doing so badly,
I would say on defense, and like I said, she's
playing like that in the national team, or she played

(55:35):
like that in the national team this summer. We anticipate
she's probably gonna play on the on the blue line
on defense for the national team in the Olympics, but
we will have to see. In joining me now, yeah,
you can grab that headset and put it on. How's
it going.

Speaker 23 (55:48):
We're on the air here.

Speaker 6 (55:49):
We're with Britta Curl, former captain of the Wisconsin Badgers.
Nice to meet you. I'm aiden. How's it going.

Speaker 1 (55:54):
How are you?

Speaker 30 (55:54):
I'm great? I mean, back in Labon, getting to see
my sister, all the Badgers. It's pretty cool.

Speaker 6 (55:59):
Absolutely, you got your jacket on too, so you're you're
you're suited up. You don't have any main gear? Oh
you do? Have you had there?

Speaker 31 (56:04):
You go?

Speaker 6 (56:04):
Okay, so you have to support your sister. I was
gonna ask about that. How is that for you not
only to be back here at Lebon, but to see
your sister as well on the other side.

Speaker 31 (56:12):
I mean, it's so cool. It's not something that I
ever really thought, you know what happened, But just to
see her succeed and see how much she's enjoying the game,
and get to play for a great program and then
get to share it with you know, my family, and
come back here to a place that I love and
the place that I've spent so many years.

Speaker 30 (56:28):
It's pretty special.

Speaker 6 (56:29):
Do you have any other family members here tonight?

Speaker 18 (56:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 31 (56:31):
We got a ton of my parents, some of my siblings,
and then a bunch of the fans feel like family
to me.

Speaker 30 (56:37):
So just watch people here.

Speaker 6 (56:38):
Now here's the big question. If Maine scores, do you celebrate?
I know, maybe if your sister scores, you celebrate. What's
your what do you do here?

Speaker 31 (56:47):
I would definitely celebrate if main scores, I think, I
think all the time people in the building even then
are Badger fans and celebrate because that's a pretty big
accomplishment for any team scoring against the Badgers.

Speaker 30 (56:55):
But yeah, I'd be pretty excited for them.

Speaker 6 (56:57):
Absolutely. And what was it like to I? Obviously we
talked about how great it's been to be back here,
but when they roll the carpet out, you come in,
drop the puck, see some old teammates as well. How's
that for you?

Speaker 31 (57:07):
It's cool just to be recognized by this type of program,
Like I feel like I was just a small part
of it, but you know, clearly meant something to the
people here and got to leave a little bit of
a mark and win some championships.

Speaker 30 (57:19):
I mean, that's way more than you could ask for.

Speaker 6 (57:21):
You're too humble. You're a little part of it, just
as small, I think, just a small part.

Speaker 31 (57:25):
We look at the walls around here, there's so many
amazing players coaches, it's incredible.

Speaker 6 (57:30):
Yeah, And speaking of one of the many players on
the wall, here. Molly Engstrom, obviously head coach at Maine,
played here at Wisconsin, was part of the coaching staff
for a national championship here as well. It's been pretty
impressive from what we've seen from her.

Speaker 30 (57:42):
Yeah, no, I think I have so.

Speaker 31 (57:43):
Much respect for her as a player, obviously, but then
getting to hear from my sister and how great of
a coach she is.

Speaker 30 (57:49):
I mean, you can see it.

Speaker 31 (57:50):
This team has improved so much over the last few years,
and she's just a top notch person and player.

Speaker 6 (57:55):
So it's cool that she gets to play for her
And there have been many players that are a part
of the Mark Johnson coaching tree. And I know you're
still early in your playing days, but is that something
we can see in the future, perhaps at a college
level or at any level, to be a coach.

Speaker 30 (58:08):
I think for sure.

Speaker 31 (58:09):
I think, you know, getting the experience here at the
University of Wisconsin, like it just instills a joy for
the game, and not only that, but like the knowledge
of the things that you learn and the players get
to play with, Like I look forward to, you know,
passing that on to other.

Speaker 30 (58:22):
Players someday, hopefully if coaching is in my future.

Speaker 6 (58:25):
So I think for sure, absolutely, and you're probably gonna
be back here behind the bench of some team playing
against Mark Johnson. I mean, you never know. Mark Johnson's
probably gonna be here for a million more years. Yeah,
I mean, I don't know when we're gonna end up
building him the statue, but we want him to stay forever.
I mean, talk about that for a moment. I mean
playing under Mark Johnson. I know it's been a couple
of years now, but just the impact that he has
on his players. Obviously the most successful coach I think

(58:47):
in women's hockey history, women's college hockey history. What was
it like playing under him?

Speaker 31 (58:51):
Yeah, I think the effect that he has is very subtle.
I think just the way he carries himself, the way
he holds expectations for his players. A lot of it's unspoken.
He's a very, you know, saft spoken, humble man, but
he brings that joy and that energy to the rink
and kind of reminds you that hockey is supposed to
be fun. It's supposed to be something that you enjoy.

(59:11):
So that's what I take away from him.

Speaker 6 (59:13):
And how long are you here? For you here for
the weekend or you have time to enjoy yourself in
Madison again or is it pretty quickly?

Speaker 18 (59:18):
In and out?

Speaker 30 (59:19):
That's pretty quick.

Speaker 31 (59:20):
Just here for the two games and then got a
head back for camp starting tomorrow, I guess, so, Yeah.

Speaker 18 (59:25):
It's quick.

Speaker 6 (59:26):
Let's talk about that for a second. Getting drafted in
the PWHL obviously an incredible accomplishment. What was that experience
like for you?

Speaker 31 (59:33):
Yeah, I think it's pretty cool to like still not
only enjoy hockey, but I feel like every year I
love it even more and go to a pro league
where we're treated like professionals. The hockey is, you know,
top in the world, and we're playing amazing competition, amazing games,
and the fans just absolutely get behind us.

Speaker 30 (59:51):
So I've had so much fun. I hope to keep
playing for a few more years.

Speaker 6 (59:54):
Yeah, and you're playing in front of one of the
better atmospheres in the p WHL, obviously playing at Wisconsin.
Maybe I'm a little biased, but I would say we've
got the best fans in the nation. Sure, and now
you go and play in front of some amazing fans
and the atmosphere is incredible. What has that been like
for you as far as playing in front of the
fans and all that.

Speaker 31 (01:00:11):
I just count my stars because I can't believe how
lucky I am to, you know, be a part of
such amazing programs where people honestly support you as a person,
as an athlete, and they're here to push you on
and cheer you on. I think that's so cool, and
the relationships I've made in both places have been awesome.

Speaker 6 (01:00:30):
Could we get a score prediction for the end of it.
I don't want you to jinx anything, but I'm.

Speaker 30 (01:00:34):
Gonna go five to one. I think Man's gonna get
on the board.

Speaker 6 (01:00:37):
And who's scoring. We know who's scoring, Renna curl nub
twenty two. Look out for her, She's gonna score. That's
gonna be going on. What about the Badgers, who's scoring?
Obviously we already have Caroline Harvey getting on the score sheet.

Speaker 30 (01:00:47):
I think Sims is due for one and Lacy.

Speaker 6 (01:00:50):
Yeah, two for sure. Okay, what about in the power Play?
We think we're gonna see some power play goals. It's
been a little tough for them so far from the
power play. Obviously a very successful team when it comes
to the player advantage, not so far in this series
and last years as well.

Speaker 30 (01:01:02):
Yeah, I think main just does a really good job
of blocking shots.

Speaker 31 (01:01:05):
They kind of play a little bit packed in, so
I don't know it's gonna take a pretty good shot.

Speaker 30 (01:01:09):
Or some traffic in front.

Speaker 6 (01:01:10):
I think in your season coming up, like you said,
you're starting camp tomorrow, which is crazy here now and
have to go all the way back. But what can
we expect this season?

Speaker 31 (01:01:19):
I think just I've grown in maturity and being in
the league for a year, I think that is gonna
be huge for me. Just more confident, more just comfortable
in my skill set. I think hopefully, you know, I'll
keep producing offensively, but yeah, I just take on a
little bit bigger role this year hopefully.

Speaker 6 (01:01:36):
All Right, well, Britta, it's been an absolute pleasure. Welcome
back to Madison, and hopefully the Badgers can get another win.
Thank you, all right, thank you very much. We're gonna
take a quick bick. We'll be right back here on
ten to seventy of the game.

Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
Welcome back to Wisconsin Women's hockey presented by Oak Park Place.

Speaker 6 (01:03:59):
And we will welcome you back. The intermission report brought
to you by Field's Madison Aiden Michael's here with Paul Brown.
Badger's lead won nothing after one. That was Britta Curl
and the intermission report. Good to see her back in Madison.
Obviously one of the greatest players in the history of
this program. She's here to watch her former teammates, but
also her sister, Brenna, who plays for Maine. So pretty
funny how that works out. So the Badgers, like I said,

(01:04:22):
Caroline Harvey getting the goal her first of the season,
her fifth point on the year. Starting things off for
the Badgers, they had a chance to go to nothing up,
had a couple of good chances on the player advantage
the power play, were not able to come contact.

Speaker 18 (01:04:35):
Okay, looking up here, thinking, ah.

Speaker 6 (01:04:39):
Yeah, I mean, there's nothing you can really do with
that one. What the referee says goes. But you can
understand the frustration there from Murphy and you never want
to go on the penalty kill when you're down a goal,
especially late in that first period. But they were able
to do the job and get that done on the
penalty kill.

Speaker 17 (01:04:52):
By the way, they add an assist they gave Cassie
Hall and ass just done the goal along with Jungles
on the Harvey goal.

Speaker 2 (01:04:58):
There you go.

Speaker 6 (01:04:58):
So it wasn't just the defense of connection Jungles and Harvey.
Cassie Hall got one as well. And I mean, talk
about one of the more underrated players on this team
we look at last year. Sarahwaznevitch was that player. She
was gritty and she was playing and she was getting
in there. Very underrated Cassie Hall as well. She's just
going up and up and up.

Speaker 18 (01:05:14):
Two hundred foot player, right, Oh yeah, going both ways
all the time.

Speaker 17 (01:05:18):
That's what was naviage was too. As a matter of fact,
you talk about a total effort both ends of the ice,
and I'll tell you the coaches obviously, as you know,
they love that when you've.

Speaker 18 (01:05:28):
Got people that play with that energy and enthusiasm.

Speaker 17 (01:05:32):
Some players don't like going backwards, you know, they want
to go the other way and shoot the puck.

Speaker 18 (01:05:37):
But I don't want to go back there and play defense.
That's no fun.

Speaker 17 (01:05:40):
But those there are two examples of people that do that,
players that do that absolutely two hundred feet effort.

Speaker 6 (01:05:48):
It's all about keeping that composure. Like you said, if
I were playing, I'd want to just be going straight
to the goal. But you know that's how you get bench.
You don't some of these players on this team that
can do that, but got to stay composed and keep going.
And so what do we expect here in the second
period is I'm about to hand things off to Greenie
over here. But what do you expect should we get
his input on it? Sure, all right, I'll be back, guys.
Here's here's Greenie.

Speaker 17 (01:06:08):
Here's Greenie. Do we need some kind of an announcement,
ladies and gentlemen, Here he is Mark green Hall. Ladies
and gentlemen, Welcome to the mic. Mister Greenhall, glad to
be back, Glad to.

Speaker 23 (01:06:23):
Be back here.

Speaker 17 (01:06:24):
Or as somebody in your Hall of Fame induction wrote
about you, as one of your qualifications.

Speaker 18 (01:06:29):
He called you a Now I forgot it, a rubber
rised Oh yeah, what was it like?

Speaker 17 (01:06:37):
A bulkonized balconized repellent. Yeah, balconized rubber repellent.

Speaker 31 (01:06:44):
Here you go.

Speaker 23 (01:06:46):
Yeah, saw saw a few shots in my day.

Speaker 18 (01:06:51):
That explains it. How it comes to me, now it
comes to me.

Speaker 23 (01:06:55):
Yeah, the equivalent wasn't as good. I probably took a
few in the head.

Speaker 18 (01:06:58):
There we under stand. The Brewers scored six runs in
the first inning.

Speaker 23 (01:07:03):
Man, they're up nine. Yeah, unbelievable.

Speaker 17 (01:07:07):
Badger football lost twenty seven to ten to Michigan Badger hockey,
leading one to nothing.

Speaker 18 (01:07:14):
Here, as we get ready for the second period to.

Speaker 17 (01:07:17):
Get underway, Wisconsin will be skating from our left to
our right, and the Bears of Maine they'll be skating
from our right to our left. Wisconsin dressed in their
white jerseys, red pants, red numeral, the main black Bears

(01:07:38):
in blue, dark blue.

Speaker 18 (01:07:40):
And light blue.

Speaker 23 (01:07:41):
Isn't it just beautiful in here, the unnatural lighting that
comes in the way this building is designed. Yeah, here
we go. Second period is underway.

Speaker 17 (01:07:51):
Just holds just shy of three thousand people. Badgers have
led the nation ten of the last twelve years in attendance.
Last year they set some records played in front of
sixty five thousand with an average of thirty four hundred
per game. Moving it up ice, coming back in over
the line that includes all games played obviously and with

(01:08:13):
it haul with a backgender bounced away in front of
the net.

Speaker 18 (01:08:17):
Where's the puck?

Speaker 17 (01:08:18):
Badger's got it as Scandal in front had it swept
off her stick, and Wisconsin loses control of the puck,
comes in over the line, here's Jacob Ooh, it's the
corner of the net.

Speaker 18 (01:08:30):
Loot opportunity there, Yes it was, and whistle and play
is going to be stopped.

Speaker 17 (01:08:35):
We're forty five seconds into the second period and Wisconsin
has scored a total of eight goals in the second
period and they've given up two and we may have
a penalty.

Speaker 18 (01:08:47):
Because we do.

Speaker 23 (01:08:48):
Scandal's going to the box and that's going to give
the power play. I'm not sure what sins she committed
I didn't see.

Speaker 18 (01:08:56):
Forty five seconds into the period. Huh roughing was the call?

Speaker 17 (01:09:09):
Okay Basoff coming up back to the point on the
right side over to try and control it. Badger's on
the penalty kill, second time they've had to do that
in this game.

Speaker 18 (01:09:20):
They'll dump it back down in the corner.

Speaker 17 (01:09:23):
Maine looking for their first goal of the weekend here
nineteen minutes into the period. Badgers won five to nothing
in game one here last night.

Speaker 18 (01:09:32):
At lebon Yay.

Speaker 17 (01:09:34):
Eden is out on the penalty kill, so is KK Harvey,
who has the puck on the near side. They try
to work it out. Eden and Harvey jungles out on
the penalty kill. Maine looking to regroup back down on
their own zone. Badgers change up, get some fresh defenders
out here on the man advantage for Maine. Venusio is

(01:09:55):
out and right is out on the ice for the Badgers,
Chapo Bullet Obi and along the boards on the near side.
Wisconsin on the kill, trying the Bnusio the fourth penalty killer,
and they'll dump it the length of the ice and
Maine will go back over to set it up along
the boards on the near side. Maine trying to come

(01:10:17):
out of their own zone. They come in over the
Wisconsin line with a puck on the far boards and
moving it around. Played away there. Nice effort by En
Righthay and Chaffo plays it back down around the boards
on the far side by En right there in that
fortune coming up Bis controlling it. They're coming through neutral

(01:10:39):
Maine comes it over the line, moving it in shot
right on, bounced out in front, cleared from the front
of the net. Kirsten Simms bangs it off the sidewall,
rolls back down, haul picking it up, moving it in,
tried to go to the backhand or moved it right
out in front.

Speaker 18 (01:10:55):
What an effort by Cassie Hall got her.

Speaker 23 (01:10:58):
Own rebound, almost tucked the rebound in there, and.

Speaker 17 (01:11:00):
It's gonna be played back in over the line. We're
down to eight seconds remaining before the Badgers are back
at full strength. Wisconsin coming out of their own zone.
We'll work it through center rise. Leila Edward's cutting in
on the right wing, laylo with it in front.

Speaker 18 (01:11:15):
Shot.

Speaker 17 (01:11:17):
Oh, and she's making her arms up like you've gotta
be kiddinged Yeah, She's got a perfect pass from Leila
Edwards man and was right there on the crease doorstep area.

Speaker 23 (01:11:30):
Man, I thought Sims is gonna be sims uh with
three goals so far on the year, and controlling it
going back over Scannal.

Speaker 17 (01:11:41):
Scannal plays it back down on the corner. Scannel trying
to pick it up. We're at a one nothing game
with sixteen fifty five remitting. In the second period, a
badger went down behind the net. There's a drive in
front shot.

Speaker 23 (01:11:54):
Yeah, yeah, gorbat Tenko I think got the rebound on
that one.

Speaker 17 (01:12:04):
As take advantage hair of that opportunity and score three
thirteen the time of the goal.

Speaker 23 (01:12:13):
Some good momentum there after killing off that penalty, a
little bit of goal. Gorbatako gets that goal on a
rebound on I think the initial shot was by Scandal.
I'm not sure that I believe it was, but a
gorgeous goal on the rebound like Gorbatanko.

Speaker 18 (01:12:27):
Wow, that would be her first goal of the year,
is it? Wow?

Speaker 17 (01:12:33):
And we'll wait for the official call. Gorbatanco in front
of the net assist Leila Edward, Oh was that who
got it?

Speaker 23 (01:12:42):
Okay?

Speaker 18 (01:12:43):
And so.

Speaker 17 (01:12:46):
Wisconsin with a two goal lead here now, man, what
a great flurry huh yep?

Speaker 18 (01:12:54):
And going back over to set it up.

Speaker 17 (01:12:56):
Sixteen minutes thirty seconds formican the period, Harvey takes it away.
Harvey comes in over the line with the drive of
the rebound infins. Good pressure by the Badgers. Yeah, they
shot hurting a lot of close in opportunities. The little
given go down on the corner on the near side.

Speaker 23 (01:13:15):
Gorba Tankles a great net front presence there with her size.

Speaker 18 (01:13:18):
Huh yep.

Speaker 17 (01:13:19):
Back to the point and Jungles with it around to
the far side over the KK. Harvey back around on
the play. Here's Jungles with a drive that went high
and off the boards and it slides way up the
ice on the left side in the main zone.

Speaker 18 (01:13:34):
Picking it up, coming in with border border shot is
clear to the corner on the near side. Chant of
one two.

Speaker 17 (01:13:42):
We want more twenty four to five shots on goal
in the period so far for the Badgers. They've got
one goal up on the board. Here we're coming back
in over the line, controlling it. DIDs Set had to
take it away and Eden tried to pick it up.
Controls it Eden Sim's back door shot. Oh and oh

(01:14:04):
back door out of the net. Doh, my goodness, eating
with it right out in front couldn't get the puck
to the stick.

Speaker 23 (01:14:12):
Great puck movement there, back and forth through the blue
paint man heck of a heck of a job, putting
the pressure on the netliner down there.

Speaker 17 (01:14:28):
Eden's Godwards gets the loan assist on the goal fifteen
sixteen remaining in the period. Back at center, Eyes controlling it.
Maine comes back in over the line. There's a drive
and the shot block brit behind the net, centered it
right out in front and Wisconsin will clear it. Bnusio
lost control of it. They play it toward the slot

(01:14:50):
and it's going to be turned away by the badgery
moving it up by Sims comes in over the line,
Sims controlling it. Sick handy with a puck with a
shot right on quick release. Boy did she risk that
one away and pig her kidden and along the boards
on the near side. Wisconsin with the lead trying to
control the puck in the zone, there's a shot in

(01:15:12):
the save is made by Latinen for Lele Edwards assist
number two of the year.

Speaker 23 (01:15:21):
Yeah, she's not uh, she's playing d but she's not
gonna let that keep from her scorn points, does it?

Speaker 31 (01:15:27):
No?

Speaker 18 (01:15:27):
I hope not.

Speaker 17 (01:15:28):
Yeah, based off coming up band, it'll be mary Anne
Pericard winning the draw to Edwards.

Speaker 18 (01:15:35):
There's a shot of goal.

Speaker 17 (01:15:41):
Putter ripped it from just inside the blueline and it
would be her first.

Speaker 18 (01:15:46):
Goal of the year.

Speaker 17 (01:15:48):
And Wisconsin gets on the board again and lead it
three to nothing.

Speaker 23 (01:15:53):
Just the gorgeous goal shot from the left point. It
looked real similar to the one Jungles got yesterday. Long
shot through traffic right on net. Beautiful goal by Potter
from the left point to take the three zero lead, and.

Speaker 18 (01:16:11):
The play continues here.

Speaker 17 (01:16:13):
Fourteen twenty six were mening in the second period of play,
twenty eight to five and shots the Badgers with the lead,
and they play behind the net of Maine. Maine setting
it up to come out of the zone around on
the near side Marianne Pericard, and it's going to be

(01:16:33):
played away as Potter got the assist was Leila Edwards
and also Schapo Volvova picking up an assist.

Speaker 18 (01:16:47):
So Wisconsin with three.

Speaker 17 (01:16:48):
Up on the board and coming back in over the
line whistle and play is going to be stopped.

Speaker 23 (01:16:54):
Yeah, p Card brought it into the zone, but and
right wasn't quite clear yet, so they'll face it off here.

Speaker 17 (01:17:03):
Third assist of the year for Leilea Edwards she has
two in this game, and third assist of the year
for Schapeau Volvova. She's already got five points in her
freshman career here.

Speaker 23 (01:17:17):
She's not wasting any time and.

Speaker 17 (01:17:18):
Said no comes around on the near side over to
try and control it. Thirteen thirty four remaining in the
second period, both teams at full strength. The Badgers come
back out on the ice as Mackenzie Jones she's in
the lineup for this afternoon's game, was not in the
lineup for the game last night, and whistle play is

(01:17:40):
going to be stopped.

Speaker 23 (01:17:41):
Yeah, it's good to see these players get some ice time, Paul.
You know, with the periodic absences we're going to have
with some players off on the Olympic venture, we need
to develop that depth as much as possible.

Speaker 17 (01:17:55):
Mark Johnson with a win six hundred and seventy wins
in his career.

Speaker 18 (01:18:00):
Now after picking up the victory last.

Speaker 17 (01:18:03):
Night against one hundred and twenty losses, that's only five
hundred and fifty games over five hundred sevest unreal. It
is crazy back around on the far side trying to
control it. Trying to get in front. It's going to
be swept away around on the far side, Wisconson back
in their own zone. Next weekend the Minnesota Duluth will

(01:18:27):
be in town. That will be an interesting series. We
played around on the far side. The Bulldogs are a
very good hockey club. They have an outstanding All American
goaltender and controlling it along the boards on the far side.
That could be a matchup of three to two and

(01:18:49):
that type game next.

Speaker 23 (01:18:51):
Weekend, that's going to be quite a contest.

Speaker 17 (01:18:53):
And coming back down in the corner on the far
side over to try and control it down to twelve
eighteen remedticing the pier is Badger's back, Scannal in the corner.
Badger's in the attack zone, comes back to the point
on the near side of Davivian Jungles.

Speaker 18 (01:19:08):
Jungles spinning her way loose.

Speaker 17 (01:19:10):
They's moving on a give and go behind the out
on the plate of Scannal and they try to lead
it back and Wisconsin try to hold the zone for
checking his Scannal, but it's lifted out to center eyes.
Maine will whistle and play is going to be stopped.
Two goals in the period three thirteen, Gorbatanko her first

(01:19:31):
goal of the year, with Leila.

Speaker 18 (01:19:33):
Getting an assist.

Speaker 17 (01:19:34):
Then at five point thirty one, Potter got her first
goal of the year, Laila's second assist third of the season,
and also shapovol A Boba picking up and assist.

Speaker 18 (01:19:45):
Her third of the year.

Speaker 23 (01:19:51):
Let's see here who wins the draw?

Speaker 17 (01:20:00):
Face off and down in the corner on the far boards.
Badger sims goes down, gets up quickly Wisconsin trying to
hold his own They do with it. Abram Eden behind
the net, over to Kirsten sims Eden on the wrap
around Murphy with a drive right on and the save
is made.

Speaker 18 (01:20:20):
Yep. They gave her a nice pass.

Speaker 23 (01:20:23):
Yeah. Eden slid it over to her and Murph was
by the right dot. Let it go.

Speaker 18 (01:20:29):
And we'll have a.

Speaker 23 (01:20:33):
Chap. Was going to take the draw here from the
face off to the left of their goaltender, and.

Speaker 17 (01:20:41):
One of their players that was Sunby said something to
the official. Oh, and they went over to talk to Molly.
I'm not sure what that was about. Coaching ready to go?

Speaker 23 (01:20:50):
Yeah, discussing something with the official.

Speaker 17 (01:20:52):
Collie Ingstrom born and raised in Wisconsin, northern part of
the state, had a nice career here in the early
two thousands, part of the initial program and moving it in.

Speaker 18 (01:21:04):
A shot blocked and there's pressure in front. Nobody home.

Speaker 17 (01:21:08):
There's a drive and that went yond by Potter. She
had an opportunity close in there to pick up her second.
Badgers try to hold the zone behind that main having
trouble getting it out. They break it back, but Potter
back to cover. Potter controls it's three nothing Wisconsin here
and working it down in the corner on the far

(01:21:30):
boards over to try and pick it up and back
on the board. Sims in the corner trying to control
and put it, plays it back down in the corner.
Badger's ranked number one in both college hockey polls.

Speaker 6 (01:21:44):
And moving it in.

Speaker 18 (01:21:45):
Here's Picard in front.

Speaker 16 (01:21:46):
Shot Man's a beautiful tip and report ward and nothing.

Speaker 18 (01:21:55):
What a great play the path the card just slid that.

Speaker 23 (01:22:00):
Right to Sim's stick. I don't think Stims even moved
her stick as she had it right in the blue paint,
fingo right in the net. Great play by those two. Man,
what a nice goal, gorgeous play. Nothing the goalie could
do about it. Oh wow, man, what a nice player,

(01:22:21):
great pass.

Speaker 17 (01:22:22):
Oh man, the way we said it in last night's game,
but you really see it, the way they passed the
puck and moved to open areas.

Speaker 18 (01:22:29):
Yeah, it's unbelievable. It really is.

Speaker 6 (01:22:32):
Around on the.

Speaker 17 (01:22:33):
Far side, there's a shot, it's going to be tipped away,
and the play along the.

Speaker 18 (01:22:37):
Boards on the far side moving it in.

Speaker 17 (01:22:39):
Here's Percard, Pope checked away from her stick, Sims gets it,
the assist goes to Pricard and it's going to be
set up Mantrol. The Badgers back in their own zone.
So Picard gets the assist on the goal on a
nice pass and.

Speaker 23 (01:22:58):
The Badgers are up by four. You know, Paul, that
quality of that goal was.

Speaker 17 (01:23:02):
It's okell Yeah that you know, highlight real Yeah, right there,
surge right there.

Speaker 18 (01:23:08):
And Kk's earlier in the game was pretty nifty.

Speaker 17 (01:23:11):
Yes, it was coming back into the line ninety nine
remaining in the period.

Speaker 18 (01:23:16):
Wisconsin the ice with it.

Speaker 17 (01:23:17):
McCarthy. McCarthy's sent of the line. McCarthy tried to lead
through on the past to Mackenzie Jones. Maine picks it up,
they'll carry it in over the Wisconsin. The path from
Stevenson Cross didn't work to me, show and it's going
to be dumped all the way back down on the zone. Well,
fans that come to watch the Badgers here at Lebon

(01:23:39):
Arena see some exciting hockey. If you haven't seen a
women's college hockey game and some time, I'm going to
invite you to come, I think you will be stunned
at the speed, the passing ability, the shooting ability, skating
ability of the players coming up. I Ice McCarthy with

(01:23:59):
a comes back into the line, played it back down
in the corner.

Speaker 18 (01:24:03):
Sell it a little bit more.

Speaker 23 (01:24:04):
You weren't lying, Paul, you weren't even exaggerating.

Speaker 18 (01:24:07):
Bems over to KK Harvey.

Speaker 17 (01:24:09):
Yeah, and it's going to be set up trying to
control and coming out of the zone. The Badgers will
come back to their own blue loot.

Speaker 18 (01:24:16):
Pock it out.

Speaker 17 (01:24:18):
And controlling it, moving it up Ice on the break,
it's gonna be picked up and coming Ben, We're.

Speaker 18 (01:24:25):

Eight minutes twenty four shack that's rematic of the Shacond
period and Wisconsin. They put up three here in the
period at three thirteen Gorbajenko, at five thirty one Wotter,
and at nine eighteen Kirsten sim down in the corner
with it as scan scandal with a puck coming out
in front and whistle and play is going to be

(01:26:08):
stopped up.

Speaker 23 (01:26:15):
Do we have a penalty here? We look?

Speaker 9 (01:26:19):
We do?

Speaker 23 (01:26:19):
I think Gorbatinko might be going to the box.

Speaker 18 (01:26:23):
Yep.

Speaker 17 (01:26:23):
She is third consecutive penalty for the Badgers eleven forty
two the time of the penalty.

Speaker 23 (01:26:34):
Elbowing.

Speaker 17 (01:26:37):
So the Badgers are going to have to kill off
their third consecutive shorthanded situation here power play for Maine
and a chance to get on the scoreboard eight seventeen
remaining controlling it, they'll move it around and turn, try
to go to the high slot dancing and that went

(01:26:59):
up over the glass.

Speaker 18 (01:27:00):
Benettigan stops the play.

Speaker 23 (01:27:02):
I think Eden got a stick on that one to
force it to deflect high.

Speaker 17 (01:27:06):
Venusio is out, per Card is out, Egan is out,
and Murphy on the penalty killed for the Badger face
off in the draw along the board's far side.

Speaker 18 (01:27:17):
Badgers need to get it out of their own zone.

Speaker 17 (01:27:20):
Here down in the corner, Ava Murphy trying to check
and hold up the progress comes back to the point
on the path over the sunbeat Hanson with a shot.

Speaker 18 (01:27:29):
Oh that was pushed away and they got somebody. Let's
see they directing them.

Speaker 23 (01:27:37):
It's out of the zone.

Speaker 18 (01:27:38):
Yeah, I think so. They move it out of the zone.
They're in the crease.

Speaker 23 (01:27:42):
I think so. Yeah, that that player got a pisa
McNaughton there. Yeah, I thought maybe there was even going
to be a penalty blown, but not to be.

Speaker 17 (01:27:52):
Then right out now and the penalty killed for the Badgers.
They change up a couple of the players. Also out
is mcken's Jones and McCarthy is out. So you've got
some young players out there on the penalty field around
on the far side, and right is also out.

Speaker 23 (01:28:10):
McCarthy's a really good penalty killer. Well so is enright.
But I'm just saying as far as the younger players,
he's feeling good at it.

Speaker 17 (01:28:18):
Along the boards on the near side. Seven minutes, twenty
eight seconds are making in the second period. Hanson with
the play. They move it back out on top, they're
shot and it's tipped away in front of McNaughton looking
for help the Badgers McKenzie jones en right and McCarthy
kind of sagged back. Yeah, protect a little bit that

(01:28:40):
one deflected off the pad there of Aba. McNaughton goes
around over to Potter and she goes, we've had enough
dumps at the length of the ice right on, coming
back mean on the power play, back in over the line,
trying to control it, hustling after it is, betch betch
around of the far boards on the player, over to Jacob,

(01:29:01):
Jacob working the wing on the far side, back out
on top. It comes to Rusinski and a drive deflected
away me show there and comes back just inside the
blueline and there's a drive and that's block in front
Ava blocked. That one looked like it may have heard
her a little bit around on the far side and

(01:29:22):
Maine back in behind the net five seconds remitting in
the power play for the Black Bears, and there's a
drive into the glove of Ava fired by Lily Fleff.

Speaker 23 (01:29:32):
Well, they did create a few scoring opportunities on their
power play, didn't they fall, Yeah, they did right there,
another staved every boy McNaught.

Speaker 6 (01:29:41):
And on the glove.

Speaker 23 (01:29:43):
But yeah, they had some possession in our zone there,
creating some chances.

Speaker 17 (01:29:48):
Five penalties called in the game so far and coming
over to try and pick it up and or pardon me,
four penalties called in the game around the fry side.
Garbatanco trying to lead it to Hall holding the zone
as Leyley edwards edwards with the puck along the boards
on the near side, back over the hall. Haul gets

(01:30:10):
some help. Here's Gorbatenko point blank fired wide along the
boards near side Wisconsin, trying to hold his zone, coming
up Ice on the brake, get over the Wisconsin line
as Ryan, that's take it away back two on two,
coming up ice haul and Scandal comes in over the line,
haul with it behind the net. Shot oh Gorbatanco scannal

(01:30:33):
back door waiting for the paths laid around the boards
five twenty five remitting in the period before nothing Wisconsin
in the game laid around, deepened the zone in the corner.
As Garbatanko went down, she shuffled it around on the
far side. Badgers hold the zone, jungles with it, jungles
with it, angled it to the right point. Badgers try

(01:30:55):
to dump it on the right boards. They do intended
for scannal. Maine will turn and try to clear it
out on the break, brit angles it off the boards.
Badgers try to hold his own up the near wing.
Maine with the play comes in over their own bloodline.
Badgers turned that away on a lead pass in over
the line. Here's Chapo down in the corner with it

(01:31:18):
back to the point on the past, comes around over
the jungles, jungles around up on top.

Speaker 18 (01:31:23):
Venusi over the.

Speaker 17 (01:31:24):
Shot and went off the blocker up into the crowd
and we have the stoppage of player.

Speaker 23 (01:31:30):
Pretty good puck movement there, low to high and D
to d to get a shot on net there by Venusio.

Speaker 17 (01:31:37):
It's interesting coming to the game today. You think of
hockey in cold weather. Yeah, people had shorts on and
some about eighty degrees or eighty five degrees. Kind of
rare for a hockey game.

Speaker 25 (01:31:53):
Yeah, that is.

Speaker 23 (01:31:54):
You know what a nice afternoon. It's gorgeous. Yeah, Gorda
southside and just beutle in here. Like I said, some
of that daylight, natural lighting comes in.

Speaker 18 (01:32:02):
It's why that natural lighting in this building really nice. Yeah,
it really is.

Speaker 23 (01:32:06):
It's just a little energy, yeah, a little energy to
the building.

Speaker 18 (01:32:11):
Eight national championship banners up there.

Speaker 23 (01:32:15):
That was neat to see that one raised last night.

Speaker 18 (01:32:18):
Yep, there it is all alone.

Speaker 17 (01:32:21):
Twenty twenty five, and there's this sht driven in the
other championships two thousand and six, seven, nine eleven, nineteen,
twenty one, and twenty three.

Speaker 23 (01:32:34):
Yeah, it doesn't get old.

Speaker 17 (01:32:38):
WCCHA Championships, WCHA Playoff Championships frozen four appearances and CAA tournaments.

Speaker 18 (01:32:50):
We're gonna have to build a bigger building. Yeah, yeah,
coming back over to pick it up.

Speaker 23 (01:32:56):
Here's a problem to have.

Speaker 18 (01:32:58):
Yeah, back in over the line. Too bad.

Speaker 17 (01:33:02):
They couldn't add onto this building a little bit. I
know if they would get more than the twenty nine
hundred they get in here.

Speaker 23 (01:33:07):
What I would love to see Paul as the second
tier at the same elevation that this press uh you
know the press box.

Speaker 18 (01:33:13):
I think they do that here?

Speaker 23 (01:33:15):
Is that? I think I think they could. You know,
you got the the concrete columns there, you got nine bays.
I think it's doable.

Speaker 18 (01:33:23):
But what the heck, Well, we'll put you in charge
of getting the permission to get that done.

Speaker 23 (01:33:27):
All right, Okay, I'm all over it.

Speaker 18 (01:33:31):
Good luck with that.

Speaker 23 (01:33:32):
Yeah, but it would be nice to yeah, really well,
and it would we.

Speaker 17 (01:33:35):
Sell it out, Yeah, they would sell it out around
on the far side, over to try and control it.
And it's going to be played toward the slot and
Wisconsin's Edwards played back down on the corner trying to
control it. Three point forty remedting in the second period
down deep in the zone.

Speaker 18 (01:33:55):
Wisconsin over to pick it up. They'll work the boards
on the wing.

Speaker 17 (01:34:00):
Badgers trying to come up with their fourth win of
the year against no losses and get ready for the
Bulldogs next week. There's a drive cover up in front.
Puck tame loose. Action's going to be stopped.

Speaker 23 (01:34:12):
Nice little touch pass from Edwards on the left point
to McCarthy.

Speaker 18 (01:34:16):
And family, say about the ring. Have they seen it yet?
Your wife? God, let you think of that ring?

Speaker 23 (01:34:21):
My wife said, should they get you a refrigerator, Dolly
to carry it into the other room. It's rather big
and the top opens, you know, like a Weber grill.

Speaker 18 (01:34:29):
You can put the championships in here.

Speaker 23 (01:34:31):
Yeah, cook a burger right on the ring there. Threw
some coals in it.

Speaker 17 (01:34:36):
Round on the far side, over the control of trying
to move it up Ice in the neutral zone and
Wisconsin with a ford to nothing laid shots from thirty
six to ten. It's laid around KK. Harvey is out
along with Jungles over down to the corner trying to
pick it up. Jungles turning trying to bring it out
of the zone. Pressure by Maine. They do hold his

(01:34:59):
zone yuh rby backhands it around the boards trying to
bring it out. Man, it's going to be picked up
by haul who leads it out of the break. Here's
a peking Hogen and that shot went wide of the
goal or pushed there and along the boards on the
far side. Peking Hoggin's a good size too. She's five
to ten freshmen yep out of Ontario. She goes hard

(01:35:23):
to the used to be a roarer. Huh yeah, yeah.
They say she's tough as nails.

Speaker 23 (01:35:28):
Yeah, she's uh pretty well knit and like you said
that that height, she's about a six footer and that
rowing she's got that roarer's body, you know.

Speaker 17 (01:35:39):
Two minutes and thirty one seconds remaining in the second period,
Schapo bule Boba will try to win the draw for
the Badgers, and she drew it forward. Maine picked that
up Yep around on the pards, but the Badgers hold
it in with Schapo around in the play behind Gorbatanko

(01:36:02):
the front lost control of the puck two eighteen remainting.

Speaker 18 (01:36:06):
A little scrum going on for it, and it's going
to be.

Speaker 17 (01:36:08):
Set up and clear shake over the Badger line lost
it Gorbatanco on the play over the scandal. Scandal backhanders
swept the side and around on the far side over to.

Speaker 18 (01:36:21):
Pick it up.

Speaker 17 (01:36:22):
Maine now with two minutes remitting in the period, it's
four nothing. Wisconsin going back over trying to control it
with its venusio. Banusio around on the far side, angled
back down in the corner, going over to pick that up.

Speaker 18 (01:36:36):
Scandal on the fore check, trying to control it.

Speaker 17 (01:36:39):
Badgers look to hold the zone, but Maine will clear
it out over the center. Ice in over the Wisconsin
line out his border and out also on the line,
comes around to the near side, going back in behind
Banusio looking for help. Scandal with it. She'll backhanded around

(01:37:00):
in the clearing pass man Ava Murphy will shuffle it
around over the venusio, but it's held in shot went
into the glove. Podewell fired it and Ava McNaughton making
the save.

Speaker 23 (01:37:15):
You know, Paul, one thing I really like to see.
We saw it on that shift. The way Murphy plays defense.
She's got great gap control, and by that I mean
if the opponent is carrying the puck into the zone,
she doesn't back up. She gets right on him, contests them,
closes that gap and makes it very difficult for anybody
to get around her.

Speaker 17 (01:37:32):
And it's going to be played and blocked out in front.
Cassie Hall chipped it out trying to lead it. Here's
a Hall working up ice with Aden backdoor on the
play over the sims and one.

Speaker 18 (01:37:45):
Minute remaining in the period.

Speaker 17 (01:37:47):
Sims controlling the puck down on the corner on the
far side, back in behind the nap fifty two seconds
a remitting in the period four nothing Wisconsin.

Speaker 18 (01:37:56):
They work it around.

Speaker 17 (01:37:57):
There's a ship by Hall just when one of the
goal and Wisconsin trying to get an opportunity, maybe one
more or two more scoring opportunities here, and they'll look
to set it up and it's shipped away from the
front of the net. It's going to be turned back
by me. Show don't pick it down of the Badger
zone and we'll have a nicing call.

Speaker 23 (01:38:20):
Some nice little one touch passes by leyla Edwards, that
long reach. He just kind of makes some good plays happen.
I'm gonna have a face off here to the left
of light.

Speaker 18 (01:38:31):
And then how'd you look at the second period versus
the first Here we.

Speaker 23 (01:38:36):
Had a couple of penalties. I didn't but man, we're
scoring the roost. Yeah, scored some goals, so that is good.

Speaker 17 (01:38:44):
Message. Stay out of the penalty box. Yeah, yeah, eighteen
seconds remating in the period.

Speaker 23 (01:38:52):
Yeah, and we'll have a change of personnel here.

Speaker 18 (01:38:59):
You got an other penalty on the Badgers. Nope, just
bringing out of the zone, just.

Speaker 23 (01:39:03):
Waiting for the teams hit the ice.

Speaker 17 (01:39:06):
Pricard Mary Anne Picard trying to win the face off
out as Clara right.

Speaker 23 (01:39:11):
He wins it. She was hiding the hose offs yesterday too.

Speaker 17 (01:39:15):
The face offs in the game twenty six for the Badgers,
seventeen per Maine around on the far side. Control to
get down to five seconds we're making in the period.
We're going to come to the end of the second
period of play where the Badgers put up three and
they lead Maine by a score of ford and nothing.
Greening your thoughts on the period overall, well, we start

(01:39:37):
making a few more of our shots count as the
three goal period indicates, and we're moving the puck pretty well.

Speaker 23 (01:39:43):
So I like what I'm seeing.

Speaker 18 (01:39:45):
Just go be back. This is Wisconsin Badgers Women's hockey.

Speaker 4 (01:39:51):
It's here. The weight is over.

We're back here during the second intermission today, Michael is
coming back working Debil do it here this afternoon.

Speaker 6 (01:40:34):
Hey, oh my goodness, thank you, Paul. I'm out of breath.
Guys are gonna have to bear with me. Here was
sprinting up the stairs, but we made it in time.
What a period for the Badgers. They lead for nothing
now after two their one goal away from equaling what
happened last night and their five nothing win. And the Badgers,
who we I don't want to call them a second
period team, but they certainly take a bit to get going.

(01:40:58):
They did last night without scoring goal. They scored just
one goal in the first period. Today piled it on
with three minutes, or excuse me, with three goals now
in the second period. They took a couple penalties. One
I want to point out is an elbowing call that
went against the Kelly Gorbatanko, And I was joking saying that,
you know, she's a big Cubs fan, and they were

(01:41:18):
down nine to one against the Brewers after the second inning.
And I haven't been able to check the score obviously
with this game going on, but you imagine maybe she
picked up or looked at the score, maybe not picked
up a phone. I guess she probably wouldn't do that,
but perhaps she was taking some anger out because her
Cubbies weren't doing so well. But she was able to
get on the score sheet. She was able to start

(01:41:40):
getting things going in the second period for the Badgers
first goal this season. She already had a few assists
this year in that Bamigi series was able to get
on the score sheet. Talk about that line as well.
I love that line. I'm sure a lot of you
folks do as well. That second line with Gorbatanko on
the left, Scannal on the right, and Cassie Hall centering that.
Cassie Hall one of the more fun players to watch.

(01:42:03):
Kelly Gorbatenko is basically Sidney Crosby. She watches a lot
of Sidney Crosby films. She says that's one of her
favorite players ever being a Blackhawks fan, though I'm sure
Sidney Crosby has terrorized her Blackhawks for many years, but
that is somebody that she models her game after. And
she's done pretty well to at least emulate some of
the stuff that Crosby's been doing. And she's been able

(01:42:24):
to feed the puck to Hall, who's been getting on
the score sheet as well. But talk about Maggie Scannell
scoring her first career hat trick in the opening game
of the series against Bimigie State last weekend, scoring goal
in that second game and playing pretty well here tonight.
And that first line as well. And we've seen Adela
Chapa Vali Boba come onto that second line with Gorbatenko
as well and joined Scannal and it's been pretty good

(01:42:47):
for her as well, the freshman who has played in
the States for a little bit, but it is originally
from the Czech Republic. She didn't skip any beats and
she was able to get on the score sheet last
game and the game before that. Seems like she's adjusting
playing on that first line with some veterans, with Lacey
Eden and Kirsten Simms, not to mention when you've got
Caroline Harvey as well, but also Laila Edwards, who might

(01:43:07):
I say is playing quite exceptionally on defense, and the
extra skater Mackenzie Jones as well getting some time. It's
good to see mikay Lazilish getting some more time as well.
She's normally the extra skater since Laila Edwards was slotting
in on defense, it was Mackenzie Jones that was the
defenseman that was taking the hit and had to go
out and be the extra skater. But we're seeing her

(01:43:28):
play a lot with Harvey now. It's interesting because normally
we see Harvey and Jungles that's the number one defensive pair. However,
they started the game like that. In fact, Jungles actually
got the assist on Harvey's opening goal in the first period.
But now we're seeing Mackenzie Jones go from being the
extra skater to slotting in for Vivian Jungles on that
right side, partnering up with Harvey and bringing Jungles back

(01:43:50):
and switching it up a bit. And I think Mark
Johnson likes doing that. He likes switching things of. He's
not too consistent, especially on defense. Obviously, we're seeing Laila
Edwards playing defense as well, and talk about Avid mcnonon
if you wanted to talk about the defensive Wisconsin. She's
only had to face eleven shots, but some pretty good chances.
She's done well, as she always does. She hasn't had
much to do, but this is I would say, more

(01:44:11):
shots for Maine than we expected. After two periods. They
had two power plays in the second period, one in
the first, so they've been on the player advantage three
times already in this game. The Badgers have taken some penalties.
We talked earlier in the first intermission how Ava Murphy's
penalty probably shouldn't have been one, but the Badgers have
done well. Nonetheless, they haven't had too much the show
for in the power play. Obviously, they've just had that

(01:44:33):
one in the first period after Jayden Britt took that
holding penalty. But the Badgers have done well so far.
I mean, there's not too many negatives to point out.
It's hard with this team when you're the number one
team in the nation to point out any negatives that
may be going on in this team. But it's for
nothing right now. You can't be too upset if you're
Mark Johnson. There's some things you need to work on,
for sure, But overall they've done quite well. In fact,

(01:44:56):
they think they've played a better game tonight than they
played last game. We're gonna see what happened in the
third period. We know, back to what I was saying
about the Badgers being a second period team per se,
they tend to start getting things going in the second,
but then the floodgates just open in the third. I mean,
I don't want to give a score prediction. We saw
that Britta carl said that her score prediction was five

(01:45:17):
to one Badgers. I anticipate we might see a few
more goals for Wisconsin than the five that we had
last night. Just one more to add to that. Total,
but we're going to see what happens. We're going to
take a quick break here on the intermission report. Don't
go anywhere. We're here on ten to seventy of the game.
We'll be right back.

Speaker 6 (01:47:32):
All, and we welcome you back here at Levon Arena.
The intermission report brought to you by Fields Madison. Here
on ten to seventy of the game I made in
Michaels and I am joined now by mister A. J. Harrison.
It's great to have you back. You've been a part
of this program for many, many years. Welcome back, thank you.

Speaker 32 (01:47:54):
And it's great to be on here. I mean, you know,
I had a great time with our women's hockey program
twelve years.

Speaker 6 (01:48:00):
So and you're onto doing some stuff for men's basketball
as well. You're excited for that, I assume.

Speaker 26 (01:48:05):
Yes, I am.

Speaker 31 (01:48:06):
So.

Speaker 32 (01:48:06):
After working with this program for twelve years, this summer
I transitioned to working with our men's basketball team because
I've told people like I'll still be around the women's
hockey program, you know, I was. You know, I spent
a lot of time with these players, these coaches, the
staff members as well. So I mean it's a hard
team to you know, kind of leave. But I'm very
excited to have a chance to work with such a

(01:48:26):
great program in our men's basketball program.

Speaker 6 (01:48:28):
Absolutely, and you're doing everything. I mean I was calling
a soccer game the other day and you were doing
pa announcing.

Speaker 26 (01:48:33):
Yeah, you know, I always joke I was, you know,
jack of all trades.

Speaker 32 (01:48:35):
I mean it's funny, you know, think back like when
I was in college, I was doing what you know
you're doing, doing radio stuff, and now today I'm doing
pr But yeah, you know, I you know, try being
a team player, you know, try wearing as many hats
as I can.

Speaker 6 (01:48:48):
So, hey, did you each your ring?

Speaker 26 (01:48:50):
By the way, I did, so. I was not believe
how big this year's ring is.

Speaker 32 (01:48:54):
So I mean, I was a very spoiled working with
this program, you know, with four national champion JIP rings
in the last seven years. But I think this one
takes the cake. The fact that it opens up as
a photo of Leabon Arena, has the eight banners in it.
I mean, it's just a one of a kind ring
that's incredibly I know.

Speaker 6 (01:49:11):
I was told yesterday by a fellow Big ten plus member,
Vince Hesbrick. He was telling me that it opens up.
I've never seen that on a championship ring before.

Speaker 32 (01:49:18):
I think it's a new trend. I believe that Eagles,
I think their ring opened up, and maybe the Chiefs.
But yeah, it's definitely kind of a new trend in
the last couple of years with the rings opening.

Speaker 6 (01:49:28):
Up so's it looks pretty incredible from what I've seen.
I haven't seen one in person, but I've seen the
photos I imagine, and not very practical to wear. But
I was gonna say, you're not gonna be wearing it out.
I guess in fact, soon we're not gonna have enough
enough fingers to carry all the rings. Maybe in a
few years, yep. But let's talk about this series so far.
Obviously a pretty dominant win last night, five nothing. It's

(01:49:48):
four nothing now after two periods heading into the third.
What do you see? What are the takeaways that you've
taken away from this series so far?

Speaker 32 (01:49:56):
I will say I think Mallyang Shrimp's doing a great
job with this main black Bear pro. If you look
at the scores from last year when the Badgers went
out to Maine played them, I think the games are
a little more lopsided than what we're seeing here today,
So you can definitely see the improvement in Maine.

Speaker 26 (01:50:09):
I think, you know, the takeaway from for me.

Speaker 32 (01:50:12):
Is, you know, obviously we lost a lot of players
from last year's team. You like, you know, you lost
to Patty Kasmier Memorial Award winner and Casey O'Brien, you
lost Sarahaznevitch. But I mean, you look at that top
line you insert Adela for Casey O'Brien, it looks like
that top line hasn't lost a step. I mean, just
the way that she's been playing, you know, it just

(01:50:33):
you know, literally same number as Casey was. So you know,
you look at that twenty seven, twenty six sixth line
leading the Badgers. I mean they've been playing, you know,
lights out, and then obviously KK Harvey, I mean that
first goal today. I mean I remember last year when
I called the game with PB and BC and you know,
is kind of trying to drop the line of you know,
Kk's the best defender in the world. I think she

(01:50:54):
showed that there where he just you know, cut through
the entire main defense and scored a pretty nice goal.

Speaker 6 (01:51:01):
Yeah, not too bad. And keeping it on Adela for
a second. Obviously, you said she's wearing number twenty six,
which of course was Casey's number. But she's playing alongside
a couple of veterans, Kirsten Simms and Lacey En. She's
slotted and played some time with Kelly Gorbatenko as well,
but she's not skipping any beats. I mean, you know,
she's played in the US for a little bit, but
obviously being from the Czech Republic. She's a young freshman.

(01:51:23):
We knew she was gonna be good. Did we think
she was gonna be this comfortable this quick?

Speaker 32 (01:51:27):
I mean, I can't imagine being in her shoes. You
know the fact, you know, I think going to college
is a big jump enough, right you go, you know,
you know, you leave your friends behind, whatnot having to
go to a different country, speak a different language, and
that's a whole nother jump. And you know the fact
that she's, you know, being comfortable right now and is
playing at a high level already four games in.

Speaker 26 (01:51:48):
I think that's pretty incredible by her.

Speaker 6 (01:51:50):
Yeah. And what's funny is there's been a lot of
talk as to how to pronounce her name, and we've
heard from her that there's about four or five different
ways to pronounce that and all of them are correct.

Speaker 11 (01:52:02):
Ye.

Speaker 6 (01:52:03):
It's it's sort of like the announcer's nightmare.

Speaker 32 (01:52:06):
No, I mean, it's kind of funny. I'm actually going
through this right now with our Lithuanian on men's basketball
Lexis bi Alauskis. I think he's told people three different
ways to pronounce his name, and I'm.

Speaker 26 (01:52:16):
Like, you have to pick away?

Speaker 6 (01:52:18):
Are you just gonna put all of them on the
notes or like, we'll see what we end up.

Speaker 26 (01:52:22):
With in a couple of weeks.

Speaker 32 (01:52:23):
But otherwise, I mean, maybe we can just you know,
treat her like Pele, just call her right, Della's exactly.

Speaker 6 (01:52:28):
That's what I say. To be the one name, the
one name player. And looking on the defense, obviously, Mackenzie
Jones is the extra skater tonight. Because Leila Edwards slots
in a defense. It's a big talking point because she
may well be playing that position for the national team
of the Olympics. Is this good practice for her? Do
we like this going forward?

Speaker 32 (01:52:47):
What do you think I think it will help her,
especially you know next week when the US goes off
to camp. I think it will kind of help ease
her into that mindset of playing d If you look
at this season, I think three to four games she'll
have played on the blue line.

Speaker 26 (01:53:01):
So I guess I'm curious to see how this will
go throughout the year.

Speaker 32 (01:53:04):
Is a get closer to the Olympics in January February
to see like what that split is between her playing
for it and her playing.

Speaker 6 (01:53:12):
D Absolutely Now my final question I asked this same
question to Britta Curl she said, five to one final
score for the Badgers, with Brenna Curle getting the loan
goal for Maine. Do you have a score prediction for us?

Speaker 26 (01:53:23):
I'm gonna go six nothing, Okay.

Speaker 32 (01:53:26):
I do think I would not be surprised if to
see Riah Stewart make a entrance in this third period.
That'd be my guest. But you never know what coach
Johnson willis side.

Speaker 6 (01:53:38):
But you never know.

Speaker 26 (01:53:38):
I think the Badgers will get a couple more goals
to cap off this night.

Speaker 6 (01:53:42):
Well, I guess we'll see. We're gonna take a quick break.
This was aj Harrison I made in Michaels don't go anywhere.
Third period coming up on ten seventy the game.

One call that's all injured. Remember one call that's all.

Speaker 18 (01:55:55):
Ready to go. At the third period, we began with
a board and not the lead for the guy to Badgers.

Speaker 17 (01:56:01):
All teams at full strength was Johnson moving from our
right to our left and Maine setting it up back
in their own zone trying to control the puck, angling
it out on the right side. The play comes through
neutral ice, coming in over the line. Shot right on
on the sabe is made by Ava McNaughton.

Speaker 18 (01:56:20):
Against Jacob and Greeney sits down. We're at a hockey game.

Speaker 17 (01:56:26):
He's writing notes about what's going on down on the ice,
and he's got his phone out checking the.

Speaker 18 (01:56:31):
Brewer game a lot of cups. Are you a Cup
fan or Brewer fan?

Speaker 23 (01:56:35):
I'm a Brewer fan, But I grew up Cubbs, you know, Yeah,
that's right, living in jans Hill and the Braves left
and the Brewers weren't there yet. So my first game
was that I ever saw was Wrigley Field in nineteen
sixty six.

Speaker 17 (01:56:48):
And coming up ice controlling it. By the way, the
Brewers are leading nine to two in game one of
that series. Down in the corner on the near side,
over to try and pick it up and play down
in on the wing. As they try to center it up,
Badger's moving it in. Harvey with a drive and it's
blocked and it's going to be turned away.

Speaker 23 (01:57:07):
Look at her hustle back.

Speaker 17 (01:57:08):
Wow, she's fabulous in terms of her skating ability.

Speaker 18 (01:57:13):
She's worth the price of admission all alone.

Speaker 17 (01:57:16):
Yes, she is coming over to set it up in control.
Comes in over the line. Here's Kirsten Simms with a
drive and play is going to be blocked down in
the corner. Over to try and control it. They stry
to center right out in front and there's a drive
and it's kicked out. Nice reaction. Two saves on the
part of their goaltender.

Speaker 23 (01:57:36):
Latin and boy Jungles had a great shot from the
point straight away and the goalie made a good pad
sieve and then made a great sieve on the rebound.
Lottingn really putting a good game together again today.

Speaker 17 (01:57:50):
Face off coming up to the right side, back in
the black Bear's zone. Chapeau Volova in the face off
circle and the drop picked up by Eden back down
over to Kirsten Simms. Kirsten's got a goal here in
this game, or fourth or ready of the year, and
Plague is gonna come back over to center eyes Harvey

(01:58:10):
with it circling in the neutral zone, controlling the puck
on the lead pass Afard's and it slides all the
way back in the Badger zone. Jungles will go back
over to set it up behind the net. Both teams
at full strength here in the third period. Four penalties
called in the game. Three on the Badgers. Shots are
forty two to twelve down in the corner Wisconsin, Kirsten

(01:58:35):
Simms Eden out and it's going to be turned away
by Maine setting it up as they come out of
the zone. They play it back in the Badger's zone
and Harvey's striding back and we'll have an icing called
and a stoppage of play.

Speaker 23 (01:58:50):
You know, Paul be nice to score the first or
you know, in the next goal, and maybe see if
we could get a look at one of our other goaltenders,
even perhaps that.

Speaker 18 (01:59:00):
Would be Stuart or Baker.

Speaker 17 (01:59:02):
Yeah, and us a freshman out of Nova Scotia.

Speaker 18 (01:59:09):
What's the scouting report on Riyah.

Speaker 23 (01:59:13):
Quick Quick recovery, good lateral movement, good edges. Yeah, she's
a solid goaltender, just you know, just like to see
her in it would make our evasion in a game
like this, we'd discuss it. The final would be by Mark,
but he would certainly entertain what I had to say.
You know, but I think if we if we score

(01:59:33):
a goal first, we might see Riyah get in there
just to get a look at some game time, you.

Speaker 17 (01:59:38):
Know, around on the far side, over to try and
set it up. Let me play and there's a drive
and play in front of the goal around on the
far side. Can I play Devil's advocate against you? Sure
you've got a goaltender at the other end that could
potentially have consecutive shutouts three in a row?

Speaker 18 (02:00:00):
Yeah, would you take that away from her?

Speaker 23 (02:00:04):
We might just you know, considering the whole team goal,
you know. But yeah, I don't want to your bakery.

Speaker 17 (02:00:13):
Yeah no, I mean no, that's a good question because
there would be three in a row and the answer
is happened.

Speaker 25 (02:00:20):
No.

Speaker 23 (02:00:20):
On the other thing, I wasn't like nothing against Baker either,
But we've seen Baker in a game. We just have
never seen Riya in a game yet. And I don't
know when we're going to get a chance to.

Speaker 18 (02:00:29):
Yeah, that's sense. Yeah, it makes perfect.

Speaker 23 (02:00:32):
It's totally a team oriented decision.

Speaker 18 (02:00:35):
I'm glad you guys are making that decision.

Speaker 23 (02:00:37):
Yeah. I don't score a lot of points sometimes with people,
but you gotta do what's right for the team.

Speaker 17 (02:00:42):
Absolutely, sixteen thirty five remaining here in the third period,
four or nothing to score.

Speaker 18 (02:00:49):
I didn't mean to put you on the spot, but
I just thought i'd have a little fun.

Speaker 23 (02:00:52):
That was a legitimate question, you know, and a convoluted answer,
you know.

Speaker 17 (02:01:02):
Forty three to twelve in shots, face off and the
drag goes around on the far side over to try
and control it and play in the neutral zone, going
over to set it up, back over to control and
with it off in the lead, it's going to be
backhanded down in the corner by Peekin' hoggin around on
the far side, back down, going over to try and

(02:01:25):
pick it up around the boards. Maine will look to
play it out of the zone and comeing up ice
and over the line, driven off the pad, and it's
going to be controlled by Mackenzie Jones off ice with
it McCarthy that play ahead has broken up. Badger's in
the neutral zone. It's going to be played ahead by Shay,

(02:01:45):
intercepted by Harvey Rvey behind the net. Harvey works it
up ice on the brake, coming in over the line,
controlling it. That's Scannal scan wrist shot right out in front.
Centered it again. Boy, she's playing with a lot more
poise and confidence.

Speaker 1 (02:02:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 23 (02:02:02):
See, she really came in determined, with a lot of
speed goals.

Speaker 17 (02:02:05):
It works with it and it's covered up and whistle
and play is going to be stopped here again.

Speaker 23 (02:02:10):
We had Gorba Tinkle, good net front presence right there
in the blue paint, ready for a rebounder, taking the
goalie's eyes away as a screen before the shot. With
good stuff.

Speaker 17 (02:02:21):
Bas Off will come up to the left side of Latinen,
the goaltender out of Finland four Main and there a
Badger goes down, getting a penalty call interference.

Speaker 23 (02:02:36):
Yeah, we're going to have a power play. Yeah, yeah, Yeah,
Jacob's going to the net for the excuse me, the
box for interference for the Main Bears. Yeah, we'll see
if we can do something with this power play.

Speaker 17 (02:02:57):
They haven't had a power play goalie yet this year.
The number one unit is out there controlling it with
it Harvey around on the far side over the sims.
Eden is out on the power play, so is Chapel,
Volvova and Harvey. KK comes through center ice, carries it

(02:03:18):
in over the line. Harvey with the puck around on
the play, over the sims back out on top, comes
to Harvey between the dots, pulls up, moves the puck
around over to Chapel, over to Harvey, and there's a
drive in traffic edwards turns tried to short side the
shot dry around down to the corner on the play

(02:03:39):
and the Badger's got to go back in their own
zone to set it up. One eighteen remitting of the
power play, Wisconsin's KK, Harvey Maine with a one person
for check comes out of the zone. Harvey handles it,
comes in over the line, pulls up and off side
cold on the Badgers on the power play.

Speaker 23 (02:04:01):
Yeah, let's see if.

Speaker 17 (02:04:01):
We can convert here on a power play goal. Paul, huh, Yeah,
we need that first one of the year.

Speaker 6 (02:04:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 17 (02:04:08):
Lacy Eden is a leading candidate, of course, not right now,
because she's leaving the ice. You got a different unit out.
Gorbitanco's out Scandal is out. Jungles paired defensively with Potter
comes in over the line, played down of the corner,
rolled around the boards, over the Gorbatanco behind the net
Scandal with it. She tried to and did get it

(02:04:31):
back to the point, but Jungles couldn't keep it there.

Speaker 18 (02:04:34):
They got to back it up to.

Speaker 17 (02:04:35):
Their own blueline to regroup. Made on the fore check
trying to hold the Badgers, but they carry it in
over the line. Potter, with it down in the corner,
bangs it around the boards. It's chased down by Gorbatanko
slides it around of the play over the Potter back
over to Gorbatanco in front of Scannel, but Maine clears
it from in front of their own net. As Hansen

(02:04:57):
dumped it down the ice. Badgers quickly back on the
lead to Gorba. Tankle on the pass from Avia McNaught
and Gorbatangle worked around one of the black Bear defenders
off in the play shot kicked out a nice shot
right on all with it back out on top, Jungles
with a drive comes over to Potter, flips it behind

(02:05:17):
the scandal. Scandal with a puck hit the back of
the net. Badgers try to work it on the board's
near side down and we're no power play goal. Back
goes Hall for a drive in front. That's block. Rebound
is going to be cleared by Border and just at
the blueline turned away by Jacob in front of the

(02:05:39):
Badger bench center ice. We're down to thirteen to ten
remedic In the third period. The Badgers are closing in
on fifty shots in the game. Maine has twelve around
the boards on the far side trying to control it.

Speaker 18 (02:05:54):
Score for nothing here.

Speaker 17 (02:05:56):
Wisconsin with it works it out of their own zone,
trying to play it ahead, comes back in over the line,
breaking to the net, is in right, couldn't get the lead.
Aba Murphy chased it down in the corner, going over,
trying to pick it up and back handed out as
Sandland and the puck at the blue line played deep
in on the wing. Maine back of it to pick

(02:06:18):
it up. Sandlin, with it around on the far side,
turned and played it out over to me. Show may
show to the Badger line.

Speaker 18 (02:06:26):
Lost it.

Speaker 17 (02:06:26):
Badger's turn back they come and with it per Card
shot they shot and knock down Percard picked up the rebound.
It's going to be turned away. Stevenson trying to bring
it out of the zone. Stevenson with a puck around
on the path around over to Sandland. Sandlin looking for
help to bring it out of the zone. Fetch with it,

(02:06:47):
played it back in the right wing corner of the
Badger zone. Quickly there's McCarthy to set it up. McCarthy
working up ice stick handed with the puck comes through
center ice in over the blue line of Maine. Fired
a shot rebound of Venusio. The drive trying to pick
it up is Bash in advancement of the puck with
the hands. Yeah, will stop to play man the main bearers.

(02:07:11):
They do a nice job of, you know, taking the
house away. You know, they stack everybody right in front
of the net. It's hard to get a puck through there.
Kind to get that to the wide angle or something.
It's spread it out, but it's it's difficult. They go
to the right spots and take away part of the
rink from you. Maine is looking for their first goal
of the weekend here. They were zero to two coming

(02:07:33):
in and around the boards on the near side over
to try and pick it up. Lay deep in the
zone in the corner peeking' hoggin, trying to work it loose.
Doc got control of it, worked herself free, passes it
off over shot five McCarthy went high and wide. Badgers
hold it in though they control it around the boards.

(02:07:55):
Harvey over to try and pick it up. Tried to
shuffle it back to Edwards. At the point Maine will
set it up and break to the badger line. Laid
back in the corner. As Wisconsin comes out of the zone,
they'll work it to Edwards.

Speaker 18 (02:08:10):
Edwards try to go to Harvey. Oh. She went into
the bench area, got up quickly. Man boy. She had
a tough time taking a break there almost.

Speaker 23 (02:08:21):
I think she lost an edge or something rob about
two feet from the wall there by our bench, and
she went down kind of hard, leaving a two on
to zero and able me to save, but fasing it
off here to the right of Ava McNaughton in her
own end.

Speaker 17 (02:08:35):
Here eleven minutes remaining in the third period. All of
the goals scoring was done through three of the four
in the second period. One in the first period. That's
where we stand with four up on the board. Badgers
come in over the line controlling it. Here's eating down
in the corner on the far side and Wisconsin, trying

(02:08:55):
to control it in the neutral zone, comes in over
the blue line with it and Britt is tied up
by McKenzie Jones and the play continues with Maine on
the puck in the right side of the Badger zone.
Wisconsin will chase it down on the far side, trying
to bring it out on the break to Eden being regrouping.

(02:09:18):
They controlled it down of the corner, look to center
and come it up ice control to get the Badgers
work it through center ice they come in over the
line with it.

Speaker 18 (02:09:27):
Is Kirsten sim shot right on. Boy boy, she's got
a quick release.

Speaker 23 (02:09:31):
Yeah, doesn't she And it was accurate that was on net,
but Latin made the save their glove hand on the
long side. Wow, it's a great shot though.

Speaker 17 (02:09:42):
Face off will come up to the right side of
Latin and their goaltender and Cassie Hall on the face
off goes to Murphy at the point, Badgers in control
of the game and the puck in the corner of
the main zone all behind at Gorbatanko skates over to
pick it up. Garbatanco down on the corner of the

(02:10:03):
right side, working with the puck, controls it backhands a
pass around over in front. They had Scannel Yah Scannal's
got four goals already this year. Was there right there
by the slot for a Botanco looks to hold it
in they do with Hall Hall with it and the
play around the boards on the far side, and it's

(02:10:25):
going to be dumped ahead on the pass the Badgers
will turn back in over the line they come and
controlling it. Garba Tanco on the left side skates around
on the wrap around in front shut the.

Speaker 18 (02:10:40):
Potter gets her second goal of the game and with
touching takes a five and nothing lead.

Speaker 23 (02:10:49):
This is a great hard shot. I think it was
Garba Tanko. They kind of push it to her or
put it on that kind and there was a slight
rebound and Potter just banged it home from the low slot.
Great goal.

Speaker 18 (02:11:02):
Ten thirty six.

Speaker 23 (02:11:03):
The time of the goal, I think we're gonna see
a goalie change here and.

Speaker 17 (02:11:09):

Speaker 17 (02:13:06):
That year with Wisconsin on in front five and nothing
and Greening called it Riah Stuart, the freshman goaltender has
come into the game here and we'll play probably for
the last nine minutes or and see what happens and
get a look at her and back in behind. Badgers
lead it five to nothing and the play comes along

(02:13:28):
the boards over to pick her up around over the
KK Harvey on the wing. The Badgers look to play
it on the corner on the far boards. Wisconsin dan
Wright goes down and Wisconsin will control it. They try
to play it ahead Badgers outside the bluetine and picard
with a drive block saved by their goaltender in behind.

(02:13:51):
The data comes around of the fireboards with it as
curl turned and try to bring it out Badger's Harvey
with it at center ice comes in over line, Harvey
drops it back, Halverson with a shot went up against
the netting. Got the starting report on Stewart, I mean
in terms of what do you see in practice and
that type of thing.

Speaker 23 (02:14:11):
Like I was saying, she's got really quick feet. So
she's very quick latterly both on her pads and on
her feet. So she's got good edge control, fall, sees
the puck, well, you know, controls rebounds. She's got some
good things going for. I just want to, you know,
give her a test in game conditions.

Speaker 17 (02:14:30):
Here five eight freshmen, a left hander out of Nova
Scotia for the Badgers.

Speaker 18 (02:14:36):
The other goaltender is Baker, Yeah, Chloe Baker.

Speaker 17 (02:14:40):
Yeah, and it's going to be played ahead with seven
fifty six for meting in the period.

Speaker 18 (02:14:48):
And going back over to try and control it.

Speaker 17 (02:14:50):
McKenzie Jones and other freshman out of Andover Minnesota.

Speaker 23 (02:14:57):
Yeah, you know, we just want really a nice op
tuning to just see Stewart in game game like conditions.

Speaker 17 (02:15:04):
Talking about Mackenzie Jones, she played on the state championship
team in Minnesota at Andover.

Speaker 23 (02:15:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 17 (02:15:11):
Their record was thirty and oh, oh my gosh, she
had only seven points most valuable player.

Speaker 23 (02:15:20):
Not bad eh, yeah, good to see her seeing her
get ice time here as a freshman.

Speaker 17 (02:15:25):
Out here, you know, round on the far side, over
to pick it up and control and played just outside
the blue line of the Badgers coming over to pick
it up. Badgers skate in over the line, take an
aim as Zieden and rebounds.

Speaker 18 (02:15:39):
She almost got off another follow.

Speaker 23 (02:15:41):
Yeah, followed her shot right there the net, almost at
a rebound.

Speaker 17 (02:15:43):
Badgers have gone over the fifty mark in shots on goal.
They have fifty one to thirteen. Wow, there's a drive
and the Badgers well backhanded out.

Speaker 18 (02:15:54):
Of the zone.

Speaker 17 (02:15:55):
Nice block by Potter there, and it's controlled and set up.
What does it tell you when a team puts up
fifty one shots.

Speaker 18 (02:16:06):
In a game? How would you analyze? What kind of game? Now?

Speaker 17 (02:16:09):
Yes, it's against the opponent obviously, and well there are
better opponents, and I'm not being demeaning.

Speaker 23 (02:16:14):
I'm just no, it's just, uh, we have a lot
of puck possession exactly. We're hustling getting to the puck
and then controlling it with some pretty good hands and
stick work.

Speaker 18 (02:16:23):
Yep.

Speaker 17 (02:16:24):
Around on the far side, there's a nice saved yep
kicked away there. Oh Greenie's writing that one down. Uh,
maybe I had a nice save there.

Speaker 23 (02:16:35):
Yeah. See she sees the puck through traffic.

Speaker 17 (02:16:38):
That was huge there, coming over to try and set
it up and uh, crowd has got a little complacent here.

Speaker 23 (02:16:45):
Yeah, they're getting groggy or something here.

Speaker 18 (02:16:47):
Coming back in over the line.

Speaker 17 (02:16:49):
Here's Kirsten Simms looking for the outlet on the pass
six twenty two remitting in the third period.

Speaker 18 (02:16:55):
Badgers with five.

Speaker 6 (02:16:56):
Up on the board.

Speaker 17 (02:16:58):
They will go four and oh on the year holds
up as it looks like it will. Yeah, they'll get
ready for Minnesota Duluth that series. By the way, I
believe if I'm right, I should have looked, but I
think it's Saturday Sunday.

Speaker 23 (02:17:10):
It is Paul, Yeah, eleven o'clock on Saturday.

Speaker 18 (02:17:13):
That's because of the football game.

Speaker 17 (02:17:15):
Saya redirectre there, she's got two stars around Yeah.

Speaker 23 (02:17:20):
Yeah, great save on the redirect there. You know that's
what I mean. Why she tracks the puck well like
she always sees where it's going, stays right on it.

Speaker 17 (02:17:31):
Well, you're gonna need that supporting goal because they could
be gone.

Speaker 2 (02:17:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 31 (02:17:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 18 (02:17:35):
In terms of I mean like this coming year, the Olympics.

Speaker 23 (02:17:38):
I think Monday they head out for a few days,
you know, to practice, and then they'll land, you know,
right before our games next week, and you don't know
what condition they're going to be in.

Speaker 17 (02:17:46):
We're on on the far side, over to pick it
up and uh play is well to save there face
off will come up to the right side. Yeah, who's
going to be gone? Who's officially gone?

Speaker 23 (02:18:05):
Next Greek, Well, I think you got Layla. Yep, you
got sim Ak kk eden Ava and then yeah, to
the US practice for the training for the Olympic team and.

Speaker 18 (02:18:19):
Come it up.

Speaker 17 (02:18:19):
Vice Garbatanko comes in over the line around on the
far side, trying to control it. Interesting week of practice
with you, Oh it is, it is, it's it definitely
impacts our team. Five minutes twenty four seconds remitting here
play along the boards down in the corner over the
try and control it, Garbatanko, Well, that's where the depth

(02:18:42):
of the team has got to come.

Speaker 23 (02:18:43):
Exactly exactly, Paul.

Speaker 18 (02:18:45):
It's almost like an A team and a B team.
And you don't mean a demeaning no, not a team.

Speaker 23 (02:18:50):
You need everybody.

Speaker 17 (02:18:51):
You're saying, hey, B team, you guys got to step
it up here. You're going to get more time, You're
going to get an opportunity. You're going to respond, you know,
trying to center it down on the corner on the
near side, trying to control it.

Speaker 18 (02:19:03):
Metting in the third period here.

Speaker 17 (02:19:07):
And it goes back down to center ice and Harvey
back of it has set it up. McKenzie with it,
fired it looking for the outlet on the pass down
to four point thirty six for minute in the period,
Main with it around on the far side and controlling it,

(02:19:27):
coming back over to pick it up. They come back
in over the line es Yep, that's Jones with a shot.

Speaker 18 (02:19:33):
Wow did she fire that one? It took.

Speaker 23 (02:19:36):
It was a cannon heck of a blocker saved by
landing in there to keep it out of the net
and get it over to try and.

Speaker 18 (02:19:43):
Pick it up. Wow, and back towards center ice.

Speaker 17 (02:19:47):
It's going to be dumped back down in the corner
and platter will go back, but it's going to be
an icing call. Badger's brought in six freshmen on the air.
Two of them are Gorbatancos.

Speaker 23 (02:20:00):
Yep.

Speaker 18 (02:20:01):
Along with mackenzie Jones. Chap Ovo Lteba.

Speaker 17 (02:20:11):
Another one of those freshmen, there's a drive that comes
around on the far side around to the wing on
the pass en right holds it in three point fifty two,
remeding in the period.

Speaker 23 (02:20:25):
Good for checking by this whole unit here, making it
difficult for the Bears to get out of the zone.

Speaker 17 (02:20:32):
And coming back down there's a backhander's going to be taken,
controlling it, coming up Ice working it, coming in over
the line, controlling it, and with it there's Jungles. Whoops, yep,
Jungles went down back and hold.

Speaker 23 (02:20:45):
It's something there that two people went down per card
in Jungles. It must be an invisible rope over there.

Speaker 17 (02:20:51):
Coming up back in over the line controlling it, and
Mischow is offside, and we'll have a face off coming
up twenty one remaining in the period.

Speaker 23 (02:20:59):
Good by Potter there to contest that main Bear at
the blue line, creating the off sides.

Speaker 17 (02:21:06):
Creating the goals of the game, all of them five
on five Kk Harvey or first of the year, Gorba
Tank or first Potter gets her first two.

Speaker 18 (02:21:18):
Oh boy, And there was a check on Kirsten Simms.

Speaker 23 (02:21:22):
Is that what happened away from the play, Yeah, she
got on and got thumped and went down there in
it no call.

Speaker 18 (02:21:29):
Kirsten Simms got her fourth of the year.

Speaker 17 (02:21:31):
Potter washed and second and coming back over two point
fifty eight reminting in the period eating with it down
on the corner of them the near side, Badgers try
to control the buck just inside the line. Abra Murphy
shot rebound what there was pressure in front of the
neat yeah, Sims along with Chapeau Volvo and in front

(02:21:55):
of the nat trying to pick it up. Wisconsin and
they'll control it working the wing on the near side,
back over to try and control it.

Speaker 18 (02:22:05):
Boy.

Speaker 17 (02:22:05):
This game has been a clinic in terms of passing
the puck, shooting the put control of it, man down,
Menusio with it Nusio on the far side, eating but
down in the wing in the corner two fourteen remedting.
In the period Badgers look to try and set it

(02:22:26):
up and control it. They hold it in or checking
hard yep and Wisconsin they're front eaton point blank range man.

Speaker 18 (02:22:35):
Boy, that one was. She was only about four feet
from the net with that one.

Speaker 23 (02:22:40):
Great sea by Lattin in there and Eden shot.

Speaker 17 (02:22:43):
One fifty remedting in the game here coming up Ice
controlled to get McCarthy with it played back down in
the corner behind the goal over to try and set
it up, and Wisconsin with pressure out as Zillish for
the Badgers, trying to control in front of the main bench,
bumped down in the corner and the Badgers zone and

(02:23:05):
Finley McCarthy back to control that.

Speaker 18 (02:23:08):
Here's McCarthy, she's up ended.

Speaker 17 (02:23:10):
They're gonna call up Valley with one twenty three remaining, yep,
and the Badgers are gonna get a power play here, Yeah.

Speaker 18 (02:23:18):
Dripping the call.

Speaker 23 (02:23:20):
Yeah, I took McCarthy down. That's not easy. She's a solid, solid,
strong skater.

Speaker 18 (02:23:26):
Five nine sophomore.

Speaker 17 (02:23:29):
And we'll have the face off coming up here now
with the power play on for the Badgers, and.

Speaker 23 (02:23:33):
Let's see, let's see if we can convert Paul.

Speaker 17 (02:23:35):
They'll give him some work to bonusio, peking Hagen out
on the power play bonusio along with McCarthy and Aba Murphy.

Speaker 23 (02:23:46):
Have we got en right over there? Do we?

Speaker 18 (02:23:48):
Yeah? Yep, that's the five out of the powerplay situation. Yep.

Speaker 17 (02:23:52):
With one twenty one Remedican regulation five nothing, Wisconsin and
Maine will dump it down ice and it's gonna roll
in right on Stewart who had to make the save,
and quickly plays it around over to Abra Murphy Aba
with it heads up, plays it up the near wing.
Venusio skating through center ice, gets to the blue line

(02:24:13):
of Maine on the far boards with the puck back,
hands it down in the corner, peking Hogen trying to
chase it down. En Right came over to pick it up,
played it to the point over to Murphy. Murphy dow
between the dots, fired it. Oh, try to tip it
in front, was McCarthy, Yeah, I like her right in
front of the net. There Paul McCarthy down in the
corner with Peakin Hogen peaking Hogin trying to get some

(02:24:36):
help from men right and McCarthy.

Speaker 18 (02:24:39):
McCarthy brings it away from the boards back to the
point of the pass. Venusio around over to Murphy.

Speaker 17 (02:24:45):
That play is innered idea and dumped out of the zone,
backing it up though Badger's carried backing over the line.
Here's Enright moving it in shot pipe. She hit the
pipe on looking wow. The second goal of the down
to fourteen seconds were meeting the Badgers. Here slapping her

(02:25:05):
stick is Murphy backovers, shot by Venusio Pekin Hoggen in
front Murphy with a draw that was blocked in traffic,
and they take a shot and there's the end of
the game, and wow it Wisconsin Badgers gate to a
five do nothing victory over the Black Bears of Maine.

Speaker 18 (02:25:26):
And your thoughts on the weekend.

Speaker 6 (02:25:27):
I like Greenhaw.

Speaker 23 (02:25:28):
I liked that we completed the job, you know, indicated
by the shots on net. We had a lot of pluck, possession,
didn't yield any goals. I like that if you can
keep them out of the net for three periods, that's
an accomplishment. So I liked what I saw, and a
lot of people played, so that was good too.

Speaker 18 (02:25:45):
All right, Screeney, We'll see you next weekend.

Speaker 23 (02:25:48):
Thanks for everything, Paul on Wisconsin.

Speaker 17 (02:25:50):

Welcome you back inside lebon Arena. Here on sent seventy
of the game, Badger Women's Hockey with another big win,
five nothing the final score here against Man. We saw
the same result last night. My name's Aiden Michaels. We
welcome you to the postgame report here. Pretty dominant performance
on the Badgers. Fifty four filties are concerned for the Badgers,
but they are both a hold down the fort and

(02:27:55):
I didn't jink that I didn't say the S word.
Now I can say shutout. It's back to back to
back shutouts for Avi mcnotton. We also saw a college
debut for Riah Stewart, continuing the shutout. But how about
a multi goal game, the first of her career for
Laney Potter. Now two seasons ago, when every Badger scored
a goal, Laney Potter was the last one to score

(02:28:15):
her goal. She scored here against Merrimack in January of
twenty twenty three, and the players just mobbed her like
she had scored the National Championship winning goal and it
was just great to see. She gets one tonight. She
gets another one tonight. A very good performance from her
offensively but also defensively as the Badgers cruise to a
third straight shutout. An incredible game for the Badgers, and

(02:28:39):
talk about the defense as well. Leila Edwards on defense,
playing a pretty great game, getting a shutout as well,
if you want to credit some of the defense for that.
Kelly Gorbertenko getting a goal for the Badgers as well,
her first the season. She needed on that line has
been producing so well so far this season, Maggie Scannell
of course on the right side, and Cassie Hall centering
that line, Gebetzko on the wing, and Carsen Sim's getting

(02:29:03):
another goal as well. She was incredible today. But it
all started with Caroline Harvey in the first period getting
that opening goal of the Badgers to get things going.
It was her first of the season. And uh, we're
gonna take a look at some of the highlights from
the calls of the Hall of Famer Paul Brown. Let's
take a listen.

Speaker 17 (02:29:23):
Here's Harvey cutting it on the right side. Harvey with
the puck, trying to get between the dots. Fire shown.

Speaker 6 (02:29:32):
Harvey gets her first goal of the air and with
Chucks wait with one.

Speaker 17 (02:29:39):
To nothing, nice goal, KK Harvey. A Badger went down
behind the net. There's a drive in front shot.

Speaker 18 (02:29:47):
Yeah, the rebound with chuckson gets the goal.

Speaker 23 (02:29:52):
Yeah. Gorbatenko I think got the rebound.

Speaker 18 (02:29:54):
On that one.

Speaker 17 (02:29:56):
Badgers kick advantage hair of that opportunity and score mary
Anne Pricard winning the draw to edwards.

Speaker 18 (02:30:05):
There's a shot of goal. Putter ripped it from just
inside the blueline and it would be your first goal
of the year.

Speaker 17 (02:30:18):
And Wisconsin gets on the board again and moving it in.
Here's for cards in front shot.

Speaker 16 (02:30:24):
Man person sim's a beautiful tip on the left side,
skates around of the wrap around in front.

Speaker 26 (02:30:33):
Shot of go by.

Speaker 18 (02:30:37):
Lady Potter gets her second goal of the game and
with Hutson takes a.

Speaker 34 (02:30:44):
Five to nothing lead and they take a shot and
there's the end of the game and wow it Wisconson
Badger's skate to a five to nothing victory over the
Black Bears of maid.

Speaker 6 (02:31:04):
And there you have it. The highlights there from our
very own PB that was This is part of the
Smart Motors Toyota postgame show. Those were the highlights presented
by Off Broadway House. Come to the beer, stay for
the food. As I mentioned, another dominant win for Wisconsin.
Perhaps this sends a message. Not only it's it four
straight wins to begin the season, but it is three

(02:31:25):
straight shoutouts. They had a shutout in the second game
in Bimidgi last weekend and they blank Maine with a
combined score of ten tohing five goals and last night's
game five goals this afternoon, and that's gonna do it.
The Badgers will yet another dominant performance and that sends
a message to Minnesota d Luth whom they will play
here at Lebon next weekend. So some final statistics presented

(02:31:50):
by J and K Security the Badgers five May nothing,
fifty four shots on goal for the Badgers, just sixteen
for Maine. Two goals for Landy Potter Kirstensen has got one,
Caroline Harvey got one and Kelly Gorbtenko got one as well.
But that's gonna do it here on ten seventy game
for Mark greenholl and Paul Brown. My name's Aiden Michaels,

(02:32:10):
saying so long from Leabon Arena in Madison, Wisconsin. Have
a good evening everybody, and goodbye,
