Mavericks in man Cato next October will be entirely different.

and I've talked at length with several of the league
coaches that man Cato is involved with, in this quote
unquote the CCHA, whatever you want to say about it.
And this is not a negative knock on anybody in
but yep, the CCHA top to bottom is not a
powerhouse conference like Hockey East, like the WCCHA, like the

Big ten. Yep, there are and for lack of a
better terminology, some weak sisters in that in that conference
when they're there, And I've talked about it with some
of the pro scouts and they said, yeah, you're Unfortunately
they're not the biggest schools, they're not the wealthiest schools.
But the thing that kind of sets them apart from

everybody else is that they have climbed them out, most
of them from Division two, three to two to one.

in Minnesota State will dump it in a little over

with a puck. The Badgeries having a hard time not
only gaining possession in the offensive zone but maintaining it,
and they'll dump and chase once again. Kukin in after
the defenseman berg manis but he one hands it around
to Bonkowski, who fires a pass across to his brother
Rylan and then a hit right at the center ice
line between the benches Zelanoff and the Selys. Zilanoff just

crushed one of the Mavericks. That looks like Rylan Bonkowski
went down. He's up on his skates and appears to
be okay, but.

No question whether it's going to be a five checking

Zillanoff, at six feet one hundred and ninety three pounds,
was skating to the penalty box, but one of the referees,
both now Colin Kronforced and Jake Rikuki, will go to
the video replay monitor to determine whether Zillanoff will.

Was a dangerous hit by Zillanoff, as the defenseman Bonkowski
had his head down after he back handed into the
off defensive Zee. Thankfully, his head was up and the
crown of his head did not hit the sideboard ski
and more of his face mask hit the shelf. He
got up and appeared to be just fine, and the
referees quickly out of the box. Five minute major in

will get a five minute power play at the five
point fifty seven mark of this opening period.

Ouch, I'm not sure that was justified just in the
one replay that we saw, I don't think it was justified.
But the fact of the matter being is that he
did push him into the boards. He went down there
was no head contact or anything, so not sure how
that trans transforms into a five minute major.

But it does and right now Bottleol will serve the
five minutes to zellenof Wisconsin's penalty kill will be put

he gave up only two shots on goal in six

Horbock was coming in left wing and then veered towards

passed away. A fantastic goaltender, longtime front office man with

in the NHL, the very first Badger to win a
Stanley Cup. Wayne Thomas was a very nice man and
sad to see him pass during the offseason.

And not an elderly man by any stretch of the imagination,
and probably one of the nicest people you'd ever want
to meet. And because of his position, never really a
big time you know, with every NHL team. He could
never ever say, well, you know, we got to get
a Badger player because Badgers are the best, or whatever

it is. He was politically correct on pretty much all
of those type of agenda items when he was there,
but only got to meet him a couple of times,
and when he was with Saint Louis and Saint Louis
signed Curtis Joseph Yep. I happen to be invited up
to the front table at the press conference with Wayne Thomas,
and I looked right at him and I said, you know,

you're just going to cost me my job because Jeff
Sauer does not want him to sign. And his reply
to me was, with the money we're paying him, he
can go back and buy the universe Risconsin at one

We also lost two original Badgers from the modern era.
Milwaukee native John Van Dyke passed away during the offseason,
and so did Fritz Raggetts, who was born on my birthday.
He passed away on May twenty seventh. Fritz, one of
the nicest people you'll meet, went to Nacoma Grade School,
West High School, played for the Madison Cardinals after his

days at the University of Wisconsin. We wish his family
and his wife, Barbara all the best. Fritz Raggitts wrote
his own obituary, and in his obituary he said quote,
I have had a wonderful life and I only regret
not making more people laugh.

Relatively stoic person, but would just hit you with a
