Good Ning being and welcome to Columbus, Ohio.
Speaker 5 (01:41):
I'm Paul Brown and we'll have go play by play
along with Mark Greenhall of the Blackeyes of Ohio State
and the Wisconsin Badgers here in Columbus. The last eleven
times these teams have met, they have both been ranked
number one and number two in the country. It's the
(02:02):
one hundred and twenty six meeting between the Buckeyes and
the Badgers. Wisconsin has a eighty six victory total against
twenty eight losses and eleven ties, and on the road
they've have a winning record against Ohio State thirty five,
thirteen and three. Wisconsin comes into the game with a
(02:23):
record of sixteen one and one and rank number one
in the country. The Buckeyes of Ohio State, they are
fifteen and one, but around Columbus and involving this hockey program,
the signals are all over eighteen point nine. They are
making reference to that based on what happened in the
(02:46):
championship game last year in the Twin Cities. It is
a focus of their program of the players and everyone
is well aware of it, and they are using that
wee believe as a tool to motivate their team against
the Badgers here this weekend. Greeney will be here in
(03:07):
a couple of minutes. It's going to be an exciting time.
In fact, it is potentially possible that tonight on the
ice depending on the final selections for the Olympic teams,
there could be from nine to eleven different players in
this game tonight that are serious candidates to represent four
(03:30):
countries in the Olympics. So obviously there's a lot of
talent that's going to be on the ice here this weekend.
Speaker 8 (03:38):
It should be exciting hockey. And we'll be back. We
chatted with Mark.
Speaker 5 (03:42):

Paul Brown with Mark Johnson The Coaches Show brought to
you by a Gape Ranch Mark number one, number two.
This is what coach players and fans. Everybody gets excited.
Speaker 13 (05:18):
About, don't they.
Speaker 14 (05:19):
Yeah, it's actually a good way to finish off the
first half of the season, although we've played more than
half our games. You know, after this weekend we go
into finals, get a little bit of a break, and
start the second half in January. So it's a good
test for us, especially being on the road. So, as
I've told our team, it's like taking final exams. Yeah,
we've had eighteen games up to this point, you know,
(05:39):
done a lot of good things, won a bunch of
hockey games. But now we're going to get tested and
I'm anxious to see how we respond over the two
games that we have to play here.
Speaker 5 (05:47):
We'll talk about the Buckeyes of Ohio State and the
Badgers in just a minute. But Mark, you talk about
a tribute to two great programs. There could be nine
to eleven players that potentially could be on Olympic teams
here to playing tonight.
Speaker 14 (06:02):
Yeah, this is you know, with Minnesota now Ohio State,
they're just great rivalry games and you know, each time
we play them, there's always something on the line, whether
it's in the regular season and we're trying to beat
each other. Being one two or three or four in
the country, and then you know, we get into the
playoffs and we're doing the same thing. In the last
several years, we've been in you know, semi final games,
(06:22):
the NCAA tournament.
Speaker 9 (06:24):
Championship games in the end, and you know, at the
end of the year.
Speaker 14 (06:27):
In the tournament we won a couple, they want a couple.
So you know, these are the weekends. You know, players
probably look at and get really excited about. On both teams,
coaches do the same thing. And as you mentioned, they
got a lot of talent. You know, we got a
bunch of talented kids and they've earned the right, you know,
in a couple of months to play in the Olympics
over in Italy.
Speaker 9 (06:46):
So we'll see that tonight on the ice and tomorrow, and.
Speaker 14 (06:49):
Then we'll also see those players put on their respected
jerseys for the respective countries and try to win gold,
silver and browns medals over in Italy.
Speaker 13 (06:57):
When you talk about this rink, you talk about this
rinking one where it dictates the play.
Speaker 14 (07:01):
What do you mean by that, Well, it's a smaller
ice sheet and you know there's not much of a
neutral zone, so the bone puck's either going to be
in your defensive zone or is going to be in
the offensive zone. And I think from a fans perspective,
you probably like that because there's a lot of action
and the way they.
Speaker 9 (07:15):
Play, they play very aggressive.
Speaker 14 (07:17):
Obviously they're comfortable on this sheet because you know they practice,
they play their games here, and so you've got to
be able to exit your zone. You've got to be
able to withstand their pressure and do a good job
of getting the puck out of your zone. And then
as you come through the neutral zone, there is a
lot of time, there's a lot of space because there's
not much area there, so you can't mess around with
you can't stick handle that. You have to get the
(07:37):
puck in the offensive zone. So those are the things
that we emphasize the last couple of days in practice.
And now it's like I say, you're looking for the
exam and how we're going to execute and at.
Speaker 9 (07:46):
The end of the night, what kind of grade are
we going to get?
Speaker 5 (07:48):
Mark I've seen the Buckeyes now three four times in
the time that I've been doing Badger women's hockey and
that kind of thing, and when it comes to Ohiose State,
it seems like against the Badgers.
Speaker 13 (07:59):
They're very aggressive in their for check. Is that correct?
Is that analysis right?
Speaker 9 (08:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (08:04):
They want a real aggressive what you call it two
to one two where the two forwards are going to
get on top of you as quick as they can,
and then the defenseman are pinching on the half wall.
So if you make that pass up to the winger,
she's got to make the next play for us. And
they do such a good job of reading it that
they get in that player's face really quick and create
turnovers and then they attack in that real well. And
so you know, those are the areas where we have
(08:27):
to be good. We don't have to be great, because
you're not going to be great all the time, but
you just have to be good enough to make sure
that you get in that puck and making the next place.
So as I get it, I've got to know where
I want to go with the puck, and I got
to anticipate what's coming at me, and then I got
to react to what the situation presents.
Speaker 5 (08:43):
They seem also like maybe they're the team that's the
most physical against the Badgers. I'm wondering if that's correct,
And are you in a position with this team where
they like to play physical or do they like to
get out and go.
Speaker 14 (08:57):
Oh, they'll be aggressive and they'll brobly physical too, So
you never know how the referees are going to call it.
Sometimes we get over the edge and do some things
that you know, penalties they are worthy of calling. But
you know they'll play aggressive, they'll play physical, and so
our job is to again manage the puck, use the
things that we do well, and you know, pass the
(09:18):
puck and use our speed to our assets and if
we're able to make the next play, the next pass,
and we worked on that last.
Speaker 9 (09:24):
Couple of days in practice, going to make make the
next place.
Speaker 14 (09:26):
So before I get the puck, I have to anticipate
what I need to do with that puck before I
get and if we're able to do that, alleviate some
of their pressure and keeps the puck in our offense
and zone and keeps it out of our end.
Speaker 13 (09:38):
What do you feel about your club?
Speaker 5 (09:40):
You mentioned at the press conference on Tuesday and physical
and the blue line and that type of thing. Is
everybody supposedly healthy Now We're in pretty good shape right now.
Speaker 9 (09:48):
The only difference will be like we did down in Nashville.
You know, we kept lay up at.
Speaker 14 (09:52):
Forward, so she'll be playing with Sims and Hall, which
should be a good line for us. You know, if
they're competing skill level and the talent they that should
be a good line for us. And so you know,
we got an opportunity. They've played a couple of games
last weekend after missing a few games, but you know,
she'll be back in stride this weekend. So it comes
down to our ability to execute and play on our
(10:13):
toes and not play on your heels. And Ohio State
has a tendency to get the other team to play
on their heels, and that's not good because you end
up chasing the puck a lot and you end up
defending a lot, and your goalie has to be called
them on and make a lot of goods safe.
Speaker 9 (10:25):
So play on your toes, play with our speed, and
make the next pass.
Speaker 13 (10:29):
And I would bet the first ten minutes are going
to be pretty interesting here.
Speaker 14 (10:32):
Oh yeah, they're going to be. They're going to be
sky high. I mean, the last time we played, they
didn't like the outcome, so I'm sure that's in the
back and not only their coaching staff's mind, but the
players that were you know, up in Minneapolis last spring,
so you better be ready for a tight a wave
because it's coming.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
When's the coming opening of that? I got a ranch,
you said softly, it's coming, But when is the ranch
going to open?
Speaker 15 (10:54):
For you?
Speaker 13 (10:54):
In? Last week?
Speaker 9 (10:55):
Real soon?
Speaker 14 (10:55):
Our fencing is done and you know we got a
couple of plumbing things that need to be done, doctrical work,
but it'll be soon.
Speaker 9 (11:01):
So we're excited and looking forward to that soft opening shortly.
Speaker 13 (11:07):
And for details go to a gope. I'll let you
give the emailed.
Speaker 9 (11:13):
A goatpe ranch wi dot org. There you go, Good luck, coach,
thank you.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
Those are the comments of Mark Johnson, the head coach
of the Wisconsin Badgers. The Buckeyes have come out onto
the ice as well as the Wisconsin Badgers and joining
me on the both goaltending coach Mark Greenhall Rainie. This
is one of those times where it's a lot of
fun to be involved, isn't it.
Speaker 6 (11:42):
No, they did great, but this is picking it up
music for both of us though just some days. This
is great.
Speaker 5 (11:50):
This is awes and the Badgers are being introduced here.
I got to get something situated here correct. Wisconsin will
open up.
Speaker 8 (12:02):
They're going to have k K.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
Harvey and Vivian Jungles that are going to be opening
up on the defensive spots, and also Kirsten Simms will
open up upfront, and they're going to have the buck
Eyes introduced here in just the moment as well as
Wisconsin and Ohio State getting ready for this big matchup.
Speaker 8 (12:25):
What do you see in this matchup?
Speaker 6 (12:27):
We'll tell you this will really cause people to have
to make decisions quickly.
Speaker 16 (12:42):
Both ends, two teams with identical records in the conference,
will be interested.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
Overall, the Badgers are sixteen and one and the Buckeyes
of Ohio State are fifteen at one. Ohio State is
going to open up the line. They've got a couple
of people that are out of their lineup. The Unicler
will open up defensively with Rone Neel on the defensive
(13:10):
pairing and in the goal it's going to be Hayley
McLeod as. They will open up and the officials are
coming to center. Ice will describe the arena. But for
people back in Madison, it's almost like a small heartmire,
isn't it.
Speaker 6 (13:24):
Yes, it is, and in fact there's only seating on
one side.
Speaker 8 (13:29):
We'll be back with the opening face off. This is
Wisconsin Badger women's hockey.

Speaker 5 (15:27):
Here we go the Buck Eyes and the Badgers as
we have the opening face off coming up here from
the home of the Buck guys. And how would you
describe this rank greeny.
Speaker 16 (15:38):
Real tight, The corners are extremely tight. The neutral zone
is pretty small. It's going to be fast action, no
time or space. Move the puck quickly or you're in trouble.
Speaker 5 (15:51):
And Wisconsin they've been very successful in this building overall
down in Columbus thirty five, thirteen and three, and as
we mentioned on the pregame show, the last eleven times
they've met, both teams have been ranked number one and two.
Speaker 6 (16:07):
Well, yeah, it's Groundhog Day.
Speaker 8 (16:11):
Huh, Yeah, it really is.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
The bender situation.
Speaker 5 (16:14):
The Badgers will be moving from left to right here
in the opening period, and Ohio State will be moving
from our right to our left as Wisconsin gathered around
their goaltender.
Speaker 8 (16:26):
Aba McNaughton, Chris Kirsten Simms will open up on the
left wing.
Speaker 5 (16:31):
Cassie Hall at center and Leyley Edwards. She's back up
on a forward spot. He'll be on the right side.
Harvey and Jungles will be paired defensively for Wisconsin at
Ohio State.
Speaker 8 (16:45):
They are dressed in their dark uniforms black and opening
up is going to be their number one line of Dunn,
Amos and Benson. That is a freshman from Sweden.
Speaker 5 (16:57):
She is an outstanding player back Defensively, it's Jonnicker and
Roneo and McLeod the goaltender. Ready for the face off
and this classic matchup. Ready to get underwear already.
Speaker 8 (17:14):
A little jostling at the face off circle there.
Speaker 6 (17:17):
Doune and Sims are kind of going at each other
a little.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
And the officials are going to make them get septed in.
The puck is dropped in on the opening face off.
We had a whistle and they.
Speaker 8 (17:28):
Told him, come on, settle down, we'll do this again.
Speaker 13 (17:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (17:34):
Yeah, a lot of competitive blood falling right now. You
can see it right out the heat.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
I would think the first ten minutes of this hockey
game are going to be really something to watch.
Speaker 6 (17:43):
Yes, indeed, Badgers, good boy.
Speaker 8 (17:45):
They're having about the fourth attempt here now, and finally
they dropped the pucket.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
It's going to be picked up by Harvey will drive
it down to the right wing corner, going backup and
to pick it up. As the Buckeyes turned to try
to pick it out, Badgers look to hold it in
play along in behind it at Ohio State.
Speaker 8 (18:03):
Comes out of their own zone. They move it through
center ice.
Speaker 5 (18:06):
The Badgers try to take it away there and with
it kids Cassie Hall all playing it back in of
the line, Edwards and Simms for round of the fireboards.
Harvey waiting at the point, tried to play it toward
the slotted slides in the corner back of it to Edwards.
Edwards is tied up along the wall just underway here
(18:26):
nineteen twenty two. Remedic of the first period and setting
it up in control. That's you and occur at ahead.
They come to center ice, Badger's turn back of the
Cassie Hall comes in over the line.
Speaker 8 (18:39):
Lele Edwards went down.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
She tried to play the puck in the corner where
the Ohio State will turn off the left side. They
come in of the Wisconsin line and it's going to
be played. Badgers go back in their own zone to
try and pick it up. Wisconsin will turn and Gorbatanco
comes out. Goorbatanco goes down at the blue line. Play
along on the far side. Badgers try to hold the zone.
(19:03):
It comes around of the boards near side, turning with
it as petries Badgers Gorbatanko back over to send it
up in front. There's a shot in the save is
made as getting off to drive there for the Badgers.
Speaker 16 (19:17):
Was Laney Potter, I like the way we're contesting them
right when they get to the neutral zone, not letting
them slide through there.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
And Shapovalabovo will try to win the face off for
the Wisconsin Badgers to the right side of their goaltender
McLeod and the play both teams at full strength. We're
only a minute thirty into the game and it comes
back down in the corner. Benusio will chase it back
for Wisconsin. She's bumped by Amos and Amos is out
(19:51):
with the line of Svenson and Dunn and the play
goes behind the net around the boards on the far side.
Badgers turn and look to try to bring it out.
Chapo with it along the boards on the far side.
Badger's Eden will pick it out. She carries it through center.
Ice comes in of the blue line, try to pick
up her own pass, turn back and Done comes back
(20:12):
and plays it back into the Badger line. Done, one
of their premier players and certainly a very legitimate candidate
for the Olympic team, played down in the corner around
back in behind the net. As the play continues, both
teams again at full strength. Here trying to skate it down.
Badgers have Scandal out of the ice along with Picard
(20:32):
and Enrich. Back comes Ohio State. Look out, here's a
two on one shot. More nice save and it's kicked
out by Ava McNaughton. Badgers come back up Ice. Here's
Enright comes in of the line. Enright trying to go
off on the left wing over to play at the
McCart and scale it around to the far side. The
puck loose at the blue line at Ohio State will
(20:54):
turn with it and they'll play it back down to
the Badgers zone. Simmerani is loose and Badgers fire it
up the wing and the break coming in over the line.
Scandal will chase it down in the corner, plays it
behind the nap around on the pass over to Finley.
There's a drive from the point and the puck loose
down on the corner on the fireboards. Pekanhog and tried
(21:15):
to pick it up. Badgers look to hold it in
shot save in the slot's going to be turned away
by Ohio State and they work it back into the
Wisconsin line. Both teams still at full strength, trying to
skate it down out as the line of Van Hannon,
Matthews and Petrie and the bad whoa. There was a
big check along the wall that center ice against Laney
(21:38):
Potter and going back over to try and control it.
Speaker 8 (21:41):
Wisconsin.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
We'll try to bring it toward the Buckeyes as they
come out of their own zone, but they move it
ahead backhanded by done take it away, moving it in
shot went wide and it's around on the far side
out the line of along with Svenson, along with du
and Amos, and it's Wisconsin playing it back down in
(22:04):
the corner, going back over. Swiderski of Ohio State goes
rink wat in the past coming through center ice. Wisconsin's
Cassie Hall and sims along the boards with Venusio and
they'll play it back down in the corner and skating
it back is Roneo and Roneo with it off on
(22:24):
the play and it's going to be dumped down to
the Badgers zone behind Ava McNaughton, who gathers it in
for lonto the far boards. Wisconsin turning trying to bring
it out of the zone. We've played five about five
minutes of the game and Wisconsin in the zone going
down in the corner.
Speaker 8 (22:42):
Eden taking a look. Gorbatanko was there on the boards.
Speaker 5 (22:46):
It comes take a Harvey waiting at the point and
the play is held in moving it around, trying to
get off the drive. Eden had it but lost it,
Offers sticking it. What up over the boards and out
of player? What are you seeing so far?
Speaker 16 (22:59):
I'll tell you the rink looks small in practice, but
it looks even smaller in the game. When you get
these two teams at both court check aggressively going at
each other. You got to move the puck quickly or
you're in trouble.
Speaker 5 (23:10):
Yeah, fast piece and we'll have the face off coming
up down to the right side of their goaltender.
Speaker 8 (23:17):
McLeod back In. Haley is out of Aberts for British Columbia.
Speaker 5 (23:24):
She's a senior goaltender, six feet t tall, good size
on her fifteen seventeen ramedic in the first period, and
it's going to be played down in the corner over
to try and pick it up.
Speaker 8 (23:36):
The buck eys with it.
Speaker 5 (23:37):
Then they lifted up the boards on the right side,
trying to break it off in the lead pass, but
they couldn't get it to Matthews turning with it as
Eden Eden skates back into the line, pulls up, tried
a centering pass over the Gorbatanco adding to play back
along the boards near side Ohio State zone. Buck Eyes
come up the near wing. They come in out of
(23:59):
the line and they drive it around the board's petree
in behind Aba McNaughton looking for help as Matthews does
for Ohio State on the wing near boards. They play
it as mccaution. There Badgers go back. They turn it
over in their own zone and moving it a stick
save and the rybound is cleared to the near.
Speaker 8 (24:18):
Boards a turnover in the part of the Badgers.
Speaker 5 (24:21):
There, Jones gave up the puck and Ohio State had
an opportunity to convert add along on the far side.
Badgers look to bring it out of their own zone.
Shots at this point are only three to one are
now three to two.
Speaker 8 (24:36):
In the game.
Speaker 16 (24:37):
You saw right there where Jones hesitated for a second,
little indecision and they and he ended up coughing up
the puck ended up.
Speaker 6 (24:44):
They got a shot on net right and close. You
don't want that. Got to keep it simple, move it.
Speaker 5 (24:50):
Quickly and the face off the draw, going back over
to try and control it. It's loose down on the corner,
coming over to truck pick it up for the Badgers
scandal with it, looking for help along the boards in
the corner. Wisconsin Badgers go back length Lannie Potter around
the boards on the far side. The Badgers will turn
(25:11):
and they play it up ice and chasing it going
back as dishyear this ye'ar there for Ohio State turning
on the far side, trying to clear it. Whistle and
action's got to be stopped. With thirteen forty seven remitting
in a scoreless first peer Hill.
Speaker 6 (25:28):
And I like what Venuzzio just did there.
Speaker 16 (25:31):
She started getting pressure on her own end and she
just looked around for options up and off the glass.
Speaker 6 (25:35):
And out of the zone. That's what you got to do,
otherwise you get jammed too quickly.
Speaker 5 (25:39):
Here base off, We'll come up to the right side
back of the Ohio State zone thirteen forty six, remitting
in the first period of play, both teams at full strength,
no score in the game. There was a check along
the boards and Ohio State fans wanted a penalty call.
Speaker 8 (25:57):
They didn't get it.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
On the near side play at the blue line of
Wisconsin that hit the official potter picked it up, angled
it off the back wall, and the Badger's turn to
try to bring it out of their own zone and
turning and firing it ahead was Finley McCarthy and Ohio
stayed in the neutral zone.
Speaker 8 (26:14):
It's shipped off the glass.
Speaker 5 (26:16):
There we go Halverson down along the boards, take it
away quickly, and a lot of hustle on the part
of amos Amos stick handle. When the puck comes in
over the Wisconsin line on the left, they've got done,
chased in behind the nap. Badgers play it out of
the far side, and on the fore check it's done
down in the corner. Trying to pick it up, coming
over to help out s Benson and the puck is loose.
(26:39):
Played on the far side. Kirsten Simms along oh there
was a check from behind.
Speaker 6 (26:44):
No whistle though, Oh my goodness, wow.
Speaker 5 (26:47):
I agree Ronald the far boards over there, trying to
control of that. One happened right here the badger bench
and a couple of players go.
Speaker 6 (26:54):
What dangerous distance from the boards.
Speaker 8 (26:57):
And controlling it.
Speaker 5 (26:59):
Ohio State with the drive just wide of that done
down on the corner on the far boards, done with
a truck a drive and there's heavy traffic in front
of the mat.
Speaker 8 (27:09):
It's gonna be Wisconsin trying to clear it out.
Speaker 5 (27:11):
Played back down on the corner with twelve eighteen remitting
it a scoreless first period. Leila Edwards tries to bring
it out. Ye, it's going to be held in and controlled.
Unuker there at the point, played it along the boards
along on the near side. This is unicer with it
down the wing. They play it down deep in the
zone in the corner looking for help there. That was
(27:33):
Matthews around on the far side, turning a shot right
on by Peatri and the save is made by Ava McNaughton.
Speaker 6 (27:44):
Oil boy. That was a bad decision.
Speaker 16 (27:46):
Tried to clear it right up the middle, ended up
on an Ohio State stick point playing shot.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
Ava comes up big with the save.
Speaker 8 (27:54):
Oil Boy.
Speaker 6 (27:55):
You don't want to go there with it.
Speaker 5 (27:56):
Zing it around the wall, and we'll have that face
off coming up fan controlling it. It's going to be
whistle and action's got to be stopped here with eleven
fifty one remaining in this scoreless first period, and I
they got an official. They the Ohio State's got a
penalty the way it looks it.
Speaker 6 (28:18):
Appears, doesn't it. Paul Yeah, yeah, and burbotankle they might
be matching them up.
Speaker 8 (28:22):
They did, They matched them up. We'll get a little.
Speaker 6 (28:24):
Four on four here. It'll eleven fifty one left in
the period.
Speaker 8 (28:29):
Eight o nine.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
The time of the penalties and the matching miners. Gorbatanka
was in for the Wisconsin Badgers.
Speaker 6 (28:40):
Yep, and uh looks like Carmichael for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Speaker 8 (28:49):
Win the draw and it's set up and controlled and
four on four in a little rink like this. It's interesting,
isn't it.
Speaker 5 (28:57):
It is Paul round on the near side over the
try and pick it up in the scoreless hockey game.
We've got one forty five remitted in the matching miners.
Here comes done in over the line, done with the
puck pulls up on the far board, trying to control it.
The Badger's turn and come back the other way with
it as Harvey. She drives it around and in behind
(29:17):
the at the Buckeyes turn and Wisconsin tries to hold
the zone, but it's loose along the Ohio State bench
and the far side skating back is Brook Disher. Disher
behind the det and Cassie Hall in a loose fore check.
Speaker 8 (29:33):
They back it out in.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
Ohio State comes to their own blue line ahead on
the pass and with it as Amos Amos lost control
of it. Edwards fires it out on the break. Gassie
Hall comes in over the line. Gassy Hall lost control
of the pocket. It's going to be turned back Aba
Murphy was trailing trying to get the pass, but that
didn't work. It's going to be turned back over by
(29:54):
Euniker got Toker off of the lead. Ohio State comes
through center ice and it's played in on Ava McNaughton
back along the ports ten thirty five remitting and turning
and picking it up is Roneo Roneo, and it's going
to be in the neutral zone at Wisconsin Tern tried
to pick it up Ohio State.
Speaker 8 (30:15):
There was a shot right on and a nice shot
by Done Yes.
Speaker 16 (30:20):
It was a hard risker from the top of the slot.
Ava managed to square up to it well and make
the save. So they're going to face it off here
to the right of Ava. I believe in her own end. Boy,
I tell you, Paul, you don't want to blink. No,
you really quick action today and.
Speaker 5 (30:38):
The face off coming up to the right side of
Ava McNaughton for the Badgers.
Speaker 8 (30:44):
She's fifteen one and one on the season so far.
Speaker 5 (30:47):
This is a disher with it that's broken up by
Simms leading it out of the break over to KK Harvey.
Harvey cuts in over the line, fired a shot right
on and that save.
Speaker 8 (30:58):
Is made.
Speaker 5 (31:01):
And the penalty time eighteen seconds remitting and then we'll
be back at full strength.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
Yeah, have some five on five after this.
Speaker 8 (31:11):
What's your thoughts so far and what's happened here?
Speaker 16 (31:14):
I think we're, you know, playing a pretty good pace
and we're moving the puck for the most part. We've
had like one or two thurtovers, maybe one.
Speaker 8 (31:21):
Back over to KK Harvey.
Speaker 5 (31:23):
Harvey with a drive in front, rebound shot and the
save is made. Wow, as Harvey fired it right on
and the rebound popped out front put the Buckeyes turned
it away.
Speaker 16 (31:33):
That was a great job by I think Peckenhagen or
no scandal on the rebound right there on the doorstep.
That was nice to see their goaltender McLeod made a
nice save.
Speaker 8 (31:44):
The face off. Will come up to the left side
of Haley McLeod.
Speaker 5 (31:50):
Her career mark shows thirty two wins, seven losses in
four times.
Speaker 6 (31:55):
Pretty impressive.
Speaker 5 (31:56):
Front of the far side. Ohio State will turn it
up by they come. They come in over the line
of Wisconsin along the near side. Matthews is out. Matthews
out on the line man. She carried it all the
way around to the far side. Both teams are back
at wholestrol. Boy, there's a shot that was taking Matthews
with a backhander and pressure badgers pick it up with
(32:18):
it as Kirsten Simms skating up Ice McCarthy.
Speaker 8 (32:21):
They leave it for Harvey.
Speaker 5 (32:23):
Harvey moving it a lot, and there's a drive and
the say is the cover up as it's made and
whistle and action's gonna be stopped along in behind the goal.
Speaker 16 (32:34):
Yeah, McLeod wasn't quite sure where it was there, so
you had a few badgers gonna peck away at that puck.
Speaker 6 (32:39):
She didn't like that, but it was all clean and
we're gonna.
Speaker 8 (32:43):
Take a break. This is Wisconsin Badger Women's hockey.

Speaker 5 (33:51):
Back Home of the back Guys, Mark Greenhall and Paul
Brown here in Columbus, Ohio on a Friday night game
one of this two game WCCHA series between the number
one and two teams in the country were scoreless. Shots
are seven to five Wisconsin with the edge, but we're
scoreless so far in the first period. Badgers have scored
(34:15):
one hundred and seven goals so far on the yeu
Ohio State has scored eighty one goals. But a couple
of records were set in that last game that you guys,
you and Aiden broadcast down in Nashville. Yeah, that was
a nine goals in a period in seventeen totals.
Speaker 6 (34:34):
Yeah, that was something you don't see very often.
Speaker 8 (34:36):
Yeah, Badgers look to set it up again.
Speaker 5 (34:39):
Both teams are shorthanded here had a couple of matching
minors called again, this one on Kirsten Simms and also
on Amos, so they matched up those. We may see
that a lot of this game. Yeah, coming back of
it to set it up and control. They come through neutralized,
played back into the line, gone over to pick it up.
(35:00):
Swhydeherski gets the pass from Done Done on the left wing,
looking to set it up. Badgers work it out as
Leila Edwards tried to skate it down and the back
goes this year to beat Edwards to the puck. They
give it to Don Dunn's pass intercepted Murphy try to
put it toward the slot, turned back by Done. Don
(35:20):
skates in over the line. Done is a great player
for the.
Speaker 6 (35:24):
Past, isn't she?
Speaker 5 (35:24):
Paul fast out a doubt the very legitimate candidate for
the Olympic team.
Speaker 8 (35:30):
In fact, I would think she starred as one of
those that's going to be there for sure. Yeah, and
trying to move it in. There's a shot. Ava McNaughton
covered it up and made the say.
Speaker 6 (35:40):
I like that no rebound.
Speaker 16 (35:41):
And a good thing is there were a couple Buckeyes
right on the doorstep if there would have been something
to work with.
Speaker 5 (35:47):
As we mentioned a little bit earlier in our broadcast,
and this information comes from the coaches and people involved
in that type of thing that though obviously not legitimate,
they are meaning they are legitimate candidates, but not necessarily.
There's so many of them that some of them may
not make the final roster, but there could be eleven
(36:10):
players in this game that are under consideration. Coming up
ice controlling getears. Cassie Hall comes in over the line,
trying to skate it down is Eden eating along in
the corner and the back of it the KK Harvey.
Speaker 8 (36:24):
Here's Harvey with it.
Speaker 5 (36:25):
Harvey skirted skating with a puck and he pull She
plays it around of the wing on the far side,
Badgers just inside the blue line. Kind of just shoot
a week one in Cassie Hall firing it to the net.
She's got fourteen goals already this year, having a good
season so far.
Speaker 16 (36:42):
Yeah, she's been real productive this year. Sure, had a
field day last weekend. Yeah, piled up a few stats then.
Speaker 5 (36:49):
And Egan's been performing well. Thirteen points in her last
four games. We'll have an interview coming up in the
first dinner mission with Mikayla Zillish. She had a hat trick, Yeah,
in a those all of them in the second period.
That's five people in the history of the program. Oh,
(37:10):
they said they had a hat trick in one period.
Zillich is the extra forward in the game. Tonight, Aiden
interviewed her after the Nashville series. They were played in Nashville,
both teams still shorthanded, with thirteen seconds remitting.
Speaker 8 (37:30):
Disher is out done, is out on the ice and
Disher gets the draw.
Speaker 5 (37:36):
It comes back of it a done done with it,
pulls up at the left point, brings it out of
the zone, fires it around on the right side, and
the Badgers intercept that and they'll play it to Harvey
at center ice.
Speaker 8 (37:48):
Harvey and right at the blue line.
Speaker 5 (37:50):
Will the shoulder the puck coming out of the penalty
box and then it's reintercepted and Aiden taken down.
Speaker 6 (37:56):
Yeah, there'll be a trip on them, yep, there, and
Badgers move it in.
Speaker 5 (38:00):
Harvey went to the back ender, and the Wisconsin Badgers
are going to go on the power play because of
a tripping call, and that's going to give Wisconsin the
power play opportunity. And they are twenty one of sixty three,
good for thirty three percent on the power player. Ohio State, though,
(38:22):
is very effective on the penalty kield. They've only allowed
seven power play goals to be scored against him in
fifty five attempts.
Speaker 16 (38:31):
You know that right there was a great example of
Eden's hustle, never stopped moving her feat and that other
player wanted to catch her and couldn't so tripped her
as a result. And now we're on the power play,
so I'll take that.
Speaker 5 (38:42):
We'll have a short interview with Lacy Eden and one
of our intermissions tonight, she talks about exactly what you're
talking about.
Speaker 8 (38:50):
She and also about this rink and how we the
Badgers have to play to win in this run.
Speaker 6 (38:55):
Yeah, you're not kidding. She's right on there and.
Speaker 5 (38:58):
Going back in behind the end around on the far
side back of it to Kirston Sims out of the
break over to Harvey.
Speaker 8 (39:05):
And she'll leave it for Leiley Edwards. Layla pulls up.
Speaker 5 (39:09):
Badgers are led by Eden in power play goal scoring
with a total of five, and the puck comes to Harvey.
Harvey with it fired at ahead on the brake, touched
off the stick of Eden, who tried to skate it down.
Ohio State turns and they'll drive it up the ice
and it slides all the way back down to the
Badger zone. Shots are eight to seven, no score in
(39:32):
the game, six thirty five remaining in the first period,
Harvey moving it up ice comes in over the line
to Eden.
Speaker 8 (39:40):
Eden on Harvey combined to set it up.
Speaker 5 (39:43):
It's Harvey sliding it around on the right side over
to Kirston Sims down in the corner. Wisconsin trying to
control the puck along the boards and it is held in.
Speaker 8 (39:52):
Harvey with it.
Speaker 5 (39:54):
Harvey moving inside the line, fired a shot high and
wide of the goal, came off the glass, eating down
in the corner. Chapo Valley Bova and it's gonna be
brought all the way back down to the Badger's zone quickly.
Ava McNaughton on the league comes in over the line.
Here's shappo with it. Chappo back over to Kirsten Simms
(40:15):
and jam in the corner as Wisconsin tried to pick
it up. Scandal comes over to Halpout Ohio State with
pressure against him. Badger's behind the Ohio State net. Scannal
dug it out, put it in the slot. Nobody home
at Ohio State clears it the center ice twenty three seconds,
remitting in the power play for Ron on the far
(40:36):
side in a scoreless game over Gorbatanco flips it around
the board. Cassie Hall waiting at the point, trying to
hold the zone. Badgers hold it in, haul around back over,
shot right on.
Speaker 6 (40:49):
And McLeod makes you say, nice pass by Hall, good
shot by Potter, and unfortunately a good save by McLeod.
Speaker 8 (40:58):
Down to a.
Speaker 5 (40:59):
Short period and it'll be back at full strength here
Badgers are going to change up. Two national championships have
been won by the Buckeyes of Ohio State.
Speaker 8 (41:11):
Twenty twenty two to one of them. And in twenty
twenty four.
Speaker 5 (41:18):
Nadine Mazarol, the head coach, he's done a great job
down here with Ohio State, and play up ice control
to get the Badgers back at their own bullline, and
it's over to Venusios. Venusio plays it back down on
the corner along the board's near side. Badgers trying to
hold it in with Murphy and also there to try
(41:39):
and help out as McCarthy as Wisconsin going four deep
in their forward lines in this game, Ohio State one
player short. They dress three lines plus two extra forwards,
go back in behind and back in behind the net.
Wisconsin in control nine to seven in shots, no score
(42:02):
in the game. Did you expect this kind of here
comes a shot in the flock, that it would be
scoreless at this point?
Speaker 16 (42:10):
Well, I knew everybody's gonna have to earn it. You know,
both teams are contesting each other, and none of them
are making too many foolish mistakes.
Speaker 8 (42:17):
That's the big thing.
Speaker 16 (42:19):
I saw it too right, and as a result. There's
just been no uh, nobody scored yet and.
Speaker 8 (42:24):
I'm moving it up ice.
Speaker 5 (42:25):
Here's done coming one on one against Laney Potter, comes
in over the line.
Speaker 8 (42:29):
Shot block three bound shot saved, oh cup, two beautiful
saves by McNaught man.
Speaker 5 (42:36):
Wow do she's sharp there, man oh man. And it's
going to be played back three point fifty nine remaining.
That was outstanding work by Ava McNaughton. And it's back
down on the corner, coming over to try and pick
it up and again tied up as Laney Potter and
coming over to help out his h amos amos is
(42:58):
out also out of the ice as wis for Ohio
State and the Badger's turn and there's a check in
the neutral zone and Cassie Hall was taken off her states. Yeah,
the officials could be key in this game the way
they call it in terms of UH.
Speaker 22 (43:17):
So far.
Speaker 16 (43:18):
They matched a few up, you know what I mean,
And they realized the impact of if you put somebody
on a power Paer's done circling between the.
Speaker 8 (43:25):
Dots, shot and the goal by don no no goal.
Speaker 16 (43:30):
No goal went off the pipe evidently, and it's going
to be set up the red light did go on
right momentarily, it did, yeah.
Speaker 8 (43:38):
And it's good. Yep. They turned it back and uh,
I for a second thought, that's what I saw.
Speaker 16 (43:45):
But I know, you know, your eyes aren't fooling you.
The red light did go on momentarily, but the official
waved his arms.
Speaker 8 (43:52):
It was no goal and around of the far side.
That's good news.
Speaker 6 (43:55):
Yeah, And there was a lot of traffic in front
of that net there. I don't think he saw that.
Speaker 8 (44:00):
Boy.
Speaker 5 (44:01):
You look at the effort there by done to get
herself in the position. She's got up ice controller get
and it's going to be Eden trying to skate it
down and the player all on the four boards coming back,
coming back in over the line.
Speaker 16 (44:14):
Good hustle by Gorbatenko on the back check yep, and
it's going to be played around on the far side.
Speaker 8 (44:19):
Wisconsin over to try and control it. We're still scoreless.
Shots are nine a piece, no score in the game.
Speaker 5 (44:26):
And coming on the wing, Wisconsin trying to pick it
up and Jungles with it, and Jungles takes.
Speaker 8 (44:32):
A heavy check down in the corner.
Speaker 5 (44:34):
Back in behind shapovowley Vova trying to help out there,
and Venusio looking to help pick it up. Eaton is
out in the ice and Ohio state with that aggressive
four check tying them up, can't get out of the zone.
Speaker 6 (44:49):
Marn't moved there.
Speaker 8 (44:51):
Decide to dump it.
Speaker 5 (44:52):
And play it all the way back and that'll call
an icing against the bagger risk and icing.
Speaker 16 (44:57):
It was barely enough to get there, but I think
they both did a good job. Jungles got it up
off the boards and Gorbatenkos sent it.
Speaker 6 (45:04):
Out long out of the zone. Was the right thing
to do. We do have a face off on our
own end, but heck, no turnover.
Speaker 5 (45:11):
I think Dan Cook is one of the officials skated
by the Badger bench may have had a.
Speaker 8 (45:17):
Message for Oh, I'm not sure what. Yeah, that wasn't.
Hey friend, how are you?
Speaker 6 (45:23):
I'm right it wasn't. You want to come over for dinner?
You can count on that.
Speaker 5 (45:29):
Based off coming up to the right side of Ava
McNaughton in the home of the buck Eyes and this
wrink holds about eight nine hundred people. To give you
a perspective, Yeah, obviously it's sold out and it's Wisconsin.
Speaker 8 (45:43):
Back in behind the.
Speaker 5 (45:44):
Ad around of the farm with d by Eden yep,
and pretty solid effort on the part of both teams
so far in this game. I agree Paul one twenty
eight remitting here in the period had the movie get
up Ice controlling it. It's going to be played back
into the line Gorba tank over high and that she
fired a cannon but that one tie.
Speaker 8 (46:06):
And hit the net and play as stop.
Speaker 2 (46:08):
You know.
Speaker 6 (46:08):
She made a great pass forward to Eden.
Speaker 16 (46:11):
Eden got a shot, you know, and then she followed
the play Gorbo did and got a nice shot off.
Speaker 6 (46:16):
I don't have got deflected her way. It ended up
high and wide.
Speaker 5 (46:19):
Face off will come up again between the first intermission
and interview that Aiden Michaels recorded with Mikayla Zilich. Thought
of Appleton, Wisconsin, had a nice evening of Saturday or
Sunday down in Nashville on the Badgers. She got the
(46:40):
hat trick. Ronald the farside over trying to control it's
going to be dumped back down in the corners.
Speaker 8 (46:46):
Interview.
Speaker 5 (46:47):
All of the gals try to give you some perspective
of who they are and where they're from.
Speaker 8 (46:52):
And what they like and that kind of thing.
Speaker 6 (46:54):
Yeah, good, good bunch, and they're all valuable components of
the team.
Speaker 5 (47:00):
To Chafeu Voulavova this year, a little quiet, little reluctant,
learning English pretty well though.
Speaker 13 (47:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 16 (47:10):
She at the team meal, what yesterday or today? She freshman.
You know, she did a song, but it was in
some language.
Speaker 6 (47:17):
I didn't understand.
Speaker 5 (47:18):
Paul moving it up Ice, trying to control it, coming
in over the line. There's a drive and it's going
to be blocked down in the corner on the near side,
back deep in the zone. Comes back to the point
and that's a disher with it, fired it towards the
nat moving it in a backhand. It went high and
deflected away. Good pressure by von Hannen right there in front.
(47:43):
Cassie Hall comes back into the line and Kirsten sims
down to the corner. We're under thirty seconds fromatic in
the period here and we have no score in Columbus,
Ohio and turning coming up Ice trying to control it
in the new zone and whistle in action is going
to be stopped. And you know what she said, I said,
(48:06):
I'm to u Shappy that's her nickname, the correct pronunciation
of her name. And I did it, and she said,
she laughed, She said, well I hear it different ways,
but you got it, oh, Paul, and I.
Speaker 16 (48:21):
Tell you about it. I don't even try. I just
call her shappy. It's a shap o vowel of ova. Okay,
shapel vowel of ova. Now I want you to say
that every time from now shop a bowl of ova. Chapel,
bowl of old, bowl of ovaver.
Speaker 8 (48:38):
Laughing when we did the interview.
Speaker 6 (48:40):
Oh that's great, she said, you can call the shappy,
you can call me whatever you do. It's a true
phonics test, isn't it.
Speaker 8 (48:46):
Oh oh? And right at late part of the period.
Speaker 16 (48:52):
Six point nine seconds to go, and what they get
her for it you tripping by and right for two minutes?
Speaker 8 (49:04):
Okay, face off, coming up.
Speaker 5 (49:08):
Now on the right side of Aba McNaught and just
get out of the period here and regroup and played

Speaker 8 (49:15):
And that's it. The end of the first period. Your
thoughts in the first twenty minutes, which.
Speaker 16 (49:20):

Speaker 25 (50:08):
Europe is once again taking a tech giant to task
over antitrust concerns. The US tends to take a lenient
regulatory stance when it comes to big tech. Europe, in contrast,
has been very quick to launch full probes over whether
or not the world's largest tech companies, from hardware to software,
are monopolizing things in violation of the law. In the
(50:29):
European Union, the European Commission is opening an investigation against Meta,
claiming the social media behemoth is engaging in anti competitive
behavior by limiting how much third party artificial intelligence apps
can interact with Meta services, namely its messaging platform WhatsApp.
The regulators say it would allow meta's own AI to
(50:50):
have too much of an advantage and would crowd out competition,
and the Commission says the mere ocurrence of the inquiry
could lead the EU to temporarily blocking Metas from rolling
out new AI policies. With Fox on Tech, I'm Evan

Hi, this is Rob Deuvil with an important message to
the nineteen million veterans who defend America's freedom. An amendment
was signed into law establishing that all current members of
our armed forces and veterans, uniformed or not, may render
the military style salute to our flag when it's raised
or lowered, passes by, and anytime the national anthem is played.
(51:26):
This iHeartMedia station invites all active duty service men, women,
and veterans to salute our flag and we thank you
for your service to our country.
Speaker 8 (51:41):
Heyde Michael's here.
Speaker 27 (51:42):
With Mikayla Ziwish. Mikayla.
Speaker 8 (51:44):
How's it going.
Speaker 22 (51:45):
It's going good.
Speaker 28 (51:45):
How are you?
Speaker 27 (51:46):
I'm fantastic.
Speaker 29 (51:47):
So taking you all the way back to the very
beginning of your college hockey career, going to Amiji State.
What made you choose Bmiji State? Tell me a bit
about that recruitment process for you.
Speaker 30 (51:57):
Yeah, my recruitment process was a very un experience. I
got a couple offers going into my senior year, and
you know, I went back and forth regarding a couple
of schools out east staying in the Midwest, and I
ultimately decided, like, I want to stay within the WCCHA Conference,
and so originally I actually committed to Saint Cloud.
Speaker 22 (52:17):
So I was committed to Saint Cloud for a little while.
Speaker 30 (52:20):
And then an l I signing day came around and
we had a couple of conversations with the coaches, and
because it was a COVID year, a lot of girls
got their fifth year and asked to stay, and so
they didn't have a roster spot where I would come
in and truly play the way they wanted me to.
(52:40):
So they asked me to take a fifth year. And
at that time, I requested the opportunity to just see
what other schools were around, if they were willing to
take in someone where I could get ice time somewhere else,
just because I knew what I wanted to study. It
was a hard decision to prolong entering college. And then
that's when Bimigi came about, which was a really cool
opportunity just because it's still in the Midwest, it's in
(53:02):
the WCHA.
Speaker 22 (53:03):
And it also like the school and.
Speaker 30 (53:06):
The size of the school was something that was really
appealing to me because I like a little bit of
a smaller classroom, being on the water, everything like that.
And so that's what originally took me to Pummidge and.
Speaker 29 (53:18):
Then talk to me about the transfer process. Obviously you're
from Wisconsin, so transferring coming to the Badgers.
Speaker 13 (53:25):
What was that like for you?
Speaker 22 (53:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 30 (53:27):
Absolutely, So when I entered the transfer portal, obviously I
had my top schools I was hoping that would reach
out to me. Obviously Wisconsin was already on that list.
It spent on my list since I could skate and
could comprehend how good the women's program was here. And
then when I got a phone call from Jackie Crumb,
I was.
Speaker 6 (53:45):
Like, I, this is insane.
Speaker 30 (53:48):
So I answered it because I saw it was a
Madison area phone call, and I was like, Hello, got
a lot of family here, Like is this one of
my cousins? I don't have their number in four And
then I ended up having a really great conversation with Jackie,
which then led to my opportunity of playing at Madison,
which has been an amazing last two seasons.
Speaker 29 (54:07):
So the last time we did an interview was at
the very beginning of the season, before you had gone
to be.
Speaker 27 (54:12):
Made State to play.
Speaker 29 (54:13):
Now that that's over with, obviously it happened a couple
months ago at this point, But how was that for
you to play against the Beavers in Bamidgi.
Speaker 6 (54:20):
Yeah, it was. It was a lot of fun.
Speaker 30 (54:23):
Obviously, anytime to play a team that you formerly played
for and then do well is obviously fun. But it
was nice to have my last opportunity to see some
of my friends there, both on the team but then
also just still on campus.
Speaker 22 (54:39):
And so I was really grateful to kind.
Speaker 30 (54:42):
Of say my goodbyes to that chapter of my life
since I don't foresee myself going back up there without hockey.
So it was it was a really cool experience and
I'm glad I was able to be a part of it.
Speaker 29 (54:53):
And obviously the Beavers come to Madison. Now I know
this is more of a soccer thing. I don't know
if we're familiar, but usually in soccer, when you play
again it's your former team and.
Speaker 27 (55:00):
You score a goal, you don't celebrate out of respect.
If you score against Hamiji State, are we going to see.
Speaker 29 (55:05):
A celebration or are you gonna put your hands up
in the air and say, I'm not.
Speaker 13 (55:09):
Going to celebrate.
Speaker 30 (55:10):
See, that's a hard one because it's senior night, Like
I'm gonna have to celebrate like And that's actually really
really funny because honestly scoring, if anybody scores in Lebon,
they should always celebrate. Like the energy, the atmosphere, it's
a cool, cool experience, and so obviously there will be
some celebration. But also being senior night, it's going to
be a really cool opportunity to finish off both my
(55:35):
time in college hockey at Madison but also out of
school that I started with and doing it against them.
Speaker 22 (55:40):
It's going to be a really cool opportunity.
Speaker 27 (55:42):
I will be special.
Speaker 15 (55:43):
Now.
Speaker 27 (55:43):
I want to know, speaking of celebrations, who's got the
best celebration on the team, and then who has the worst?
Speaker 28 (55:49):
Oh?
Speaker 30 (55:50):
Best is Caroline Harvey? Okay, she she can get it
going and she is She always comes in same with Sims,
like both them come in and very clutch off like
times and their celebrations. It's just such a it's such
like a confidence boost for them, but I feel like
it trickles down throughout the entire team.
Speaker 22 (56:08):
Like I think about Wrigley some of the celebrations there.
Speaker 30 (56:11):
I think about Ohio State tying up games in the
National Championship, everything like that.
Speaker 22 (56:17):
It's just, yeah, they have some good celebrations. For worse,
I don't know. I'm not sure if there's necessarily anybody
that has a bad one. It just might not have
enough energy. Maybe that's what we need to work on.
Speaker 27 (56:30):
Okay, work on the energy with the celebrations.
Speaker 13 (56:32):
Okay, fair enough.
Speaker 29 (56:33):
Speaking of scoring goals and celebrating, not only did you
have your first goal the season, but you had your
second and your third in the same period in a
record breaking period, part of nine goals in that second period.
I want to ask first how it felt to score
that first goal, but then tell me how it felt
the score.
Speaker 27 (56:48):
That hat trick.
Speaker 6 (56:49):
Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 5 (56:52):
It was.
Speaker 13 (56:53):
It was amazing.
Speaker 30 (56:55):
It was actually really really ironic because in the first
period I had given us this to Claire enright, and
she had come up and she's like, why didn't you
shoot the puck there? Like you could have taken that shot,
And I was like, just how the play developed It
wouldn't have been a clean shot, and so and I
looked at her.
Speaker 22 (57:12):
I was like, when the goal is ready to happen,
it'll happen.
Speaker 30 (57:15):
So ironically enough, it did happen, and then happened a
couple more times as well.
Speaker 13 (57:20):
And so it was.
Speaker 22 (57:21):
It was so cool. Selfishly, I wish it would have happened.
Speaker 30 (57:25):
At Lebonn, obviously in front of a home crowd, and
I also wish my family would have been there.
Speaker 15 (57:30):
But it was.
Speaker 22 (57:31):
It was pretty awesome.
Speaker 29 (57:32):
It almost felt like a home crowd too, though I
mean Nashville, it's not too far, but you wouldn't expect
the Badgers to crowd that arena. But ninety percent of
the fans were Badger fans. How does that help you
playing away? But then also it feels like you're playing
at home at the same time, I.
Speaker 22 (57:48):
Think our fans are the best fans. They travel so well.
Speaker 30 (57:52):
It is truly so amazing having them at any game
that we go to, because they bring the energy for us,
even days where we.
Speaker 22 (58:01):
Are maybe setting records.
Speaker 30 (58:02):
Sometimes we don't take it as how successful we are
because it's a standard and a job for us. And
so I think the fans sometimes remind us that like
what we're doing is really cool by cheering us all
on when sometimes it's a smaller ringcord. There aren't as
many fans that we have as a normal home game.
Speaker 29 (58:21):
Yeah, so I'm glad you at least got to score
some goals in front of some fans. And according to Jake,
who helps me out with all the stats, you're the
fifth Badger to score hat trick in one period, in
the first since twenty eleven.
Speaker 13 (58:32):
How does that feel.
Speaker 22 (58:33):
You're in the history books here with this one. I'm honored.
I'm honored.
Speaker 30 (58:37):
My name's going to be on the wall somewhere. I'm
just trying to keep up with my teammates. Honestly, they
inspire me every day.
Speaker 29 (58:44):
So now when it comes to away trips, obviously, Nashville
is probably at the top of the list for one
of the more fun ones. So I asked Emma and
Finley these questions about karaoke.
Speaker 27 (58:53):
They said they did a duet together. Did you sing?
Speaker 6 (58:57):
I did?
Speaker 30 (58:57):
I sang our team group song, which was the Climb
from Hannah, Montana, and then I also sang the duet
with Mackenzie Jones and we sang Courtesy of the Red
White and blue. That was not as beautiful as the
team singing, but it was definitely rememberable.
Speaker 29 (59:17):
Who was the best I'm hearing obviously Lacy One. She
was singing and dancing.
Speaker 27 (59:22):
I mean, maybe maybe tell me who an underrated performance was.
Speaker 22 (59:26):
Jake Ross.
Speaker 30 (59:27):
He's saying, people are saying, oh, he's sang his solo,
and he did a wonderful job he did.
Speaker 27 (59:31):
Look at that little smile over there.
Speaker 6 (59:33):
He loves it.
Speaker 29 (59:34):
I'm sad I missed that because I keep hearing about
Jake's performance and it seemed to be pretty great. Anyway,
talking about Ohio State, obviously, the last time played Ohio State.
Speaker 27 (59:44):
We remember what happened. It resulted in a championship victory.
Speaker 29 (59:48):
We're going to Columbus this weekend playing against them, their
number two or number one.
Speaker 15 (59:53):
How are you feeling?
Speaker 22 (59:55):
I'm excited.
Speaker 30 (59:56):
I think we have been preparing the last eighteen games
leading up to this, and so hopefully everything will fall
into place the way it should. Obviously, they have some
bad blood leaving the end of their season the way
they did, and as rumor has it, they have those
numbers stitched into parts of their jerseys or gear, and
(01:00:18):
so I think that obviously they're coming out ready, ready
to kill us, to be honest with you, and so
I think that we need to come in with the
same mentality because as it's been for the last three
four seasons, championships game has always been against Ohio State,
and so this is just a test and if we
can do it here, hopefully we'll continue to be able
(01:00:39):
to do it against our next series at Lebonn and
then hopefully or make it to the championship, whether that's
against them or against a different program, and just continue
to do what we do best is put our best
foot forward and compete.
Speaker 29 (01:00:52):
Yeah, well, it should be an exciting series, hopefully another
Zilly hat trick, and that's what people are betting on,
not actually betting on, but we're hoping and that's going
to happen anyway.
Speaker 27 (01:01:01):
Good luck this weekend, and thank you for taking the time.
Speaker 5 (01:01:03):
Awesome, thank you, and we're back here at the Home
of the buck Eyes. After one period of play, it
is scoreless. The buck Eyes will open the second period
with a power play opportunity on because n Wright picked
up the penalty.
Speaker 8 (01:01:23):
There's one fifty four remaining in that penalty time and
taking a look at.
Speaker 5 (01:01:28):
The official stats, of the first period. Aba McNaughton was
called upon to make nine saves. McLeod of Ohio State
made a total of ten shots, were ten for the Badgers,
nine for the buck Eyes, and both teams were zero
for one on the power player. And they're still down
(01:01:51):
in the locker rooms going over some of the things
that they saw in the first period. We'll get a
recap of that from Greeney as well.
Speaker 8 (01:02:00):
Well. Take a break, we'll be back.

We're right next.

Door, literally about a couple of hundred yards away from
that football stadium.
Speaker 8 (01:04:29):
That building is intimidating when you look.
Speaker 6 (01:04:32):
At Isn't that a monster?
Speaker 8 (01:04:33):
Holy smokes? That's a big building.
Speaker 6 (01:04:35):
What's its seed? One hundred and five today?
Speaker 8 (01:04:37):
I don't know the official life, but it's over one
hundred downs.
Speaker 16 (01:04:40):
Yeah, I think it's one hundred and five thousand, which
is just amazing, you know. I mean, what's Camp Randle
eighty eight or Killy.
Speaker 8 (01:04:46):
Oh, it's a little more than that, but okay, it's
just the structure. And I agree with books and that type.
Speaker 6 (01:04:51):
It is imposing, isn't it.
Speaker 8 (01:04:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:04:53):
And there's people down here I'm not sure why that
are excited about a football game tomorrow. I mean house
date and they play in Indiana for something I think there.
Speaker 8 (01:05:03):
I think the game is a year.
Speaker 28 (01:05:05):
Yeah, we would have been staying in Cincinnati I know
at the closest you know, that game will be played
tomorrow night, by the way, and decide the big jen
championship between the Indiana Hoosiers and the Buckeyes of Ohio State.
Speaker 5 (01:05:22):
One of the guys that works at the rink here
today we were talking about athletics and college sports and
those kind of things, and how the programs are and
that kind of thing.
Speaker 8 (01:05:33):
And do you know what he said about Ohio State?
There are two important things. I said, Well, obviously number
one in football football. Yeah, And he said the second
one is the day of the signings of the recruits.
Speaker 6 (01:05:47):
Oh yeah, imagine that football, right exactly.
Speaker 8 (01:05:50):
Those are the two most important things.
Speaker 6 (01:05:54):
Oh man, yep. And it's evident, is it.
Speaker 33 (01:05:59):
Have?
Speaker 6 (01:06:00):
Well we have a.
Speaker 8 (01:06:01):
Scoreless game here? What was the discussion down on the
locker room.
Speaker 16 (01:06:05):
If you get to the red line, get the puck
in deep because it's such a short rink. Don't take
any long shifts. You don't want to get caught out here.
It's too fast paced the game. And let's win the period.
But we're going to start out. I'm innute fifty four
on the penalty kill so and.
Speaker 5 (01:06:20):
I tell you what the second period's been pretty good.
The Badgers have scored forty five goals and allowed five.
Of course, they scored nine in one second period, and
that was in the last game before this one. Well,
look at this Wisconsin moving it up Ice trying to
chase it down. Is eating eating with the puck and
(01:06:40):
back door on the pass and it didn't connect as
Wisconsin tried to lead it to Finley McCarthy and back
comes Ohio State, the Buckeyes with the power play, opportunity
penalty kill on for the Badgers out on top. Ohio
State setting it up on the power play. Here is
playing one of the points, waiting for the bucket. The
(01:07:02):
blue line has to backtrack a bit. Badgers come back
into the line. Here's Finley McCarthy trying to work it through.
Good effort there on sea of the Badger penalty killed.
Speaker 6 (01:07:13):
Yep, all started with Eden's hard work too.
Speaker 5 (01:07:15):
She's a two hundred foot player. You're not wait, yeah,
every ship but moving it in. Here's Picard with a
shot right on so hoping she'd score yeah, and coming
back up Ice controlling it. Oh boy, And it's Picard
looking for her first goal of the year. And nobody
would have expected to know, I know, coming up ice
(01:07:35):
control to get the Badgers come through neutral. Thirty nine
seconds for mening on the power play for the buck
guys controlling it. Swide Ersky with it, leads it out
of the break and they head'm in the puck coming
up ice in over the line. Matthews looking for help
from sweede Ersky. It comes back to the point over
to swhite Ersky. White Ersky moving it in, slides it
(01:07:57):
around on the far side, sure with it and moves
the wing. Take it away by McCarthy and trying to
back ava Murphy and trying to back end it out
and winning the bench area. And we're down to eleven
seconds remaining in the power play for Ohio State. It
was oh for one in the game.
Speaker 8 (01:08:15):
On the man advantage.
Speaker 6 (01:08:16):
Well, we'll have a face off, I think at our
own end yet. But this, this penalty kill seems to
be going out a while. You know, we're doing okay
at it, but man, oh man, let's.
Speaker 8 (01:08:25):
Get back to five on five. Was it a five
minute penalty?
Speaker 6 (01:08:28):
It wasn't. No, it seems like it.
Speaker 5 (01:08:30):
Yeah, bas Off coming up on the far side, back
down on the zone of Wisconsin, back in behind the
net over trying to control it and Wisconsin trying to
bring it out. Is Ava Murphy from the back wall
in behind the that coming on the play in the wing,
coming over to try and pick it up. Sims is
out along with Cassie Hall moving around the lines a
(01:08:53):
little bit Wisconsin with Edwards, Hall and Sims. They put
Eden with gorbatankle and h Shapo volley voga on that
second line there, Dad, I'm coming over trying to control it.
There's a Hall with it back on the play Gorbitanco
tried to skate it down. Badgers are back at full strength.
Nice effort there moving it in and Cassie Hall behind
(01:09:18):
the Depp over on the far side.
Speaker 8 (01:09:20):
Over the gorbatancle working along the far wall.
Speaker 5 (01:09:23):
Down she goes. Cassie Hall tried to pick it up
off the glass. Badgers hold it in back out on top.
There's a shot by Landy Potter that was blocked in traffic.
Wisconsin over to set it up. Here's KK Harvey coming
off the wing with a drive in front buck loose
scramble loose, Sims with a shot blocking it all down.
(01:09:45):
Is four three four players student body in the blue paint.
There somewhere is beneath there lies the puck.
Speaker 16 (01:09:54):
That was some good passing and good good Pennanty, you know,
pressure there getting the puck on net.
Speaker 5 (01:10:01):
We remained scoreless, seventeen oh three remaining in the second
period of play, and both lines are going to change
up here. Eden is out for the Badgers. The buck
Eyes are coming out with another line.
Speaker 6 (01:10:16):
That was a good shift, Paul, Yeah, it was a
very good shift, good effort, good puck movement, good pressure, and.
Speaker 5 (01:10:22):
Out is the line of Petrie, Von Hennen and Matthews
coming up.
Speaker 8 (01:10:27):
Fie.
Speaker 5 (01:10:28):
That's Matthews trying to state with a puck down of
the corner and the play backhanded out, Wisconsin trying to
bring it out of the zone, Ohio State holding it in.
We're still scoreless in the second period, sixteen forty five remaining.
Here in the middle period, Ohio State with pressure, Badgers
try to handle the pressure. They play it back down
(01:10:49):
on the zone. The Buckeyes go back and some port
checking pressure by Enwright along with Eden and Schaffo Valley
Bobo out on this line that's eating along the near
boards and they look to enright, pardon me to pick
it up. Back goes Venusio, the venusio round of the
far side over the scandal on the line chain. It's
(01:11:11):
tipped in over the line and n Right is going
to go back. But we'll have an icing called against
the Badgers here and that'll draw the face off back
in the Wisconsin zone.
Speaker 6 (01:11:23):
Yeah, and right Uh.
Speaker 16 (01:11:24):
Tipped it forward, but she was not across the red
line when she did so, so we'll have a face
off to the right of eve Eva at her own end.
Speaker 5 (01:11:31):
There. Shots are fifteen to ten in the game, the
Badgers with fifteen at this point. Badger's averaging over forty
shots per game. And it's going to be set up
just inside the line at Ohio State playing it run
of the far side. That's done. Don working hard, taking
a look down in the corner. Tried to skate it
(01:11:53):
down to the corner toward the net. They couldn't get
her the pass. Badgers break it out. Here's en Right
moving it up by you and right and Aba Murphy
try to control the Ohio State back into the line.
Shot by Amos. Amos's blocked tied up a collision in
front of the goal. Badgers go back in Wisconsin getting
(01:12:14):
back and they come up ice controlling it and it's
going to be played along the boards on the near side.
Buck is loose and controlled by Wisconsin per card around
of the farboard. They work it around to the near side.
Badgers play it to neutral Ice turned away there and with.
Speaker 8 (01:12:32):
It as Roneo.
Speaker 5 (01:12:37):
Back along on the near wing and the mere boards
in their own zone. Wisconsin turns. Here we go if
they come in over the line. Here's Picard with a
shot and it's kicked away.
Speaker 6 (01:12:47):
They shot from the slot.
Speaker 5 (01:12:48):
Rebound to McCarthy works the wing and helping out is
Egan in the corner lacing Eden with it working hard.
She's jammed and pinned against the sidewall and Ohio State
will turn and they'll lift it high in the air
and it bounces in the Badgers zone. That was played
away by Baxter taking back. There's Cassie Hall trying to
(01:13:09):
leave it for McCarthy, turned away and back comes Baxter
for Ohio State.
Speaker 8 (01:13:15):
Blue line of the Badgers.
Speaker 5 (01:13:16):
It's going to be set up by Petrie Petree as
jammed Badger's turn and out they come. They laid it
coming in on the line and Stuston Sims who went
down held in by Harvey with a drive right on
played back down on the corner on the near side.
No score in the game. Ohio State in the Badgers zone,
looking to set it up fourteen thirteen remitting and they'll
(01:13:39):
play it up on the right side of the Matthews
turn and played it down to the Wisconsin zone.
Speaker 8 (01:13:44):
Badgers go back.
Speaker 5 (01:13:46):
Harvey with it, played it along the back wall, trying
to bring it out to Potter and she's tied up
along the far wing.
Speaker 6 (01:13:56):
About four of them over there on the wall.
Speaker 5 (01:13:58):
It's still pinned up and it's uh honor with it
and then she's jammed by Don who tried to take
it away, and Wisconsin loses control of the puck and
Amos holds it in back of it.
Speaker 8 (01:14:09):
Are done.
Speaker 5 (01:14:10):
That's their number one line of Svenson along with Amos
and Gunn. There's a drive Ava covered up and made
to save shot fired from the point by Euniker.
Speaker 6 (01:14:22):
Glad she controlled that rebounds. We had two Buckeyes on
the doorstep there, lays Shah by Eva.
Speaker 16 (01:14:31):
Oh tell ya, it's a scoreless game. Yeah, hard work
both teams, but nothing on the board yet.
Speaker 8 (01:14:42):
Based off coming up to the left side, AMA's looks.
Speaker 5 (01:14:45):
Sharp, don't you think she's ye three four times she
made some really critical save.
Speaker 6 (01:14:50):
I agree, she's getting tested and she's answering the bell.
Speaker 5 (01:14:53):
And on one occasion she made two or three good
saves and that short opportunity yep, oh good hustle by
coming back in over the line, Gago peking Hogen round
on the near side over to try and pick it up,
shappy with it goes behind the net for rounding the
play over the gorbatanco. They tried and did get it
back of the venusio to Pekinghagen who back ends it
(01:15:16):
around in behind and whistle on or no whistle along
the boards on the far side. Play continues and the
Ohio State will drive it down to the badger zone.
It's picked up and angled off the boards, but it's
gonna be held in by the buck guys moving it in.
Speaker 8 (01:15:32):
There's a lot inflected back in and right in on Aba.
Speaker 5 (01:15:36):
McDonald and there was a check throwing along the back wall. Yeah,
yeahither a way with anything, Cimmaroni.
Speaker 16 (01:15:47):
Yeah, she was gonna try and swat at the puck
and somebody took offense to that and they put her
on her rear.
Speaker 6 (01:15:56):
Yeah, no penalty though, so I'm glad of that.
Speaker 5 (01:15:59):
Six teen twelve remaining in the second period of play.
No score from the home of the Buckeyes. That's I'm
not sure what the official name of the building is.
Here for hockey fans that have been around Madison, it
kind of reminds you a little bit.
Speaker 8 (01:16:16):
Of Heartminers somewhat. Yeah, back in behind over trying.
Speaker 5 (01:16:20):
To control it along the far boards, coming up ice
in the neutral zone. Badgers come back. Here's enright comes
in over the line and right off Harvey with a drive,
follow the backander and the cover up in the SA.
Speaker 6 (01:16:35):
Nice shot.
Speaker 5 (01:16:36):
Some pushing and shoving going on. Yeah, of course, I
think we expected a little bit of that.
Speaker 6 (01:16:41):
Yeah, two competitive teams here, a lot on the line,
so you're going to see a little of that. A
nice see Harvey get it to the net and follow
her shot, take a rebound.
Speaker 8 (01:16:52):
Even what did Mark say about the play of the
Badgers in the first period.
Speaker 16 (01:16:56):
He was pretty pleased with the leg you said, he commented,
And don't get your shifts too long. You don't want
to get caught out there. The game is too fast
a piece.
Speaker 5 (01:17:02):
Yeah, and coming back over to try and pick it up.
Wisconsin Layley Edwards looking for help and it was dumped
in by Harvey, chased down on the corner by Sims,
but Sims beating to the puck and Wisconsin holds it
in back over the jungle shall and they got directed
in front, but it just went wind yeah around of
(01:17:24):
the farboards, back along the back wall. The Badger's trying
to pick it up. With eleven forty eight remitting in
the period, Layley Edwards pushed off on one of the
buck guys trying to control the flat. Get out of
my way, yep, move move, coming back and rolling it
on the far side, trying to chase it down as
Matthews Matthews with the play and try to move it in.
(01:17:47):
Badgers on the far side, Harvey with it, looking for
help to bring it out, and the play in the
neutral zone picked up.
Speaker 8 (01:17:54):
By Cassie Hall.
Speaker 5 (01:17:55):
All cuts in wrist a little wait blocked and played
in the corner yep and turning coming back up Ice.
Speaker 8 (01:18:02):
Here's Amos with it.
Speaker 5 (01:18:04):
Amos along the near boards looking for help, and it's
gonna be Petrick who tried to help her out. Badger's
on the far side trying to bring it out of
their own zone. They've got Amos in this school boy.
Speaker 8 (01:18:16):
Back wow lock by Ava McNaughton.
Speaker 16 (01:18:21):
Man a nice save on the initial shot from the
low slot, and then there was a rebound and she
managed to get a hold of that one.
Speaker 6 (01:18:28):
So I'll take that.
Speaker 16 (01:18:33):
Save on the rebound. They'll face it off to Ava's left.
I believe in her own end.
Speaker 6 (01:18:38):
I'll tell you, Paul, you can't. Can't it up for
a second here.
Speaker 5 (01:18:43):
You know, based off coming up Man, the draw comes
back to the point on the right side. Slideherski back
in behind that at Amos is out along the back wall.
Badgers try to bring it free and Amos poking at it. Oh,
and there's a check and down goes one of the
Badgers there behind the net. Wisconsin will turn and the
(01:19:05):
buck eyes turn and try to bring it out.
Speaker 8 (01:19:07):
Of the zone.
Speaker 6 (01:19:08):
Oh, couldn't quite clear it.
Speaker 8 (01:19:10):
And here's done.
Speaker 5 (01:19:11):
Done off in a shot locked fired one of the
goal and skating back and McCloud will come out and
quickly play it on the wing. Badgers try to hold
his zone and it's going to be turned away and
coming in over the line. Svenson with it and played
it up along boards back in the corner on the
right side, coming over to help out and control.
Speaker 8 (01:19:33):
Back over to.
Speaker 5 (01:19:34):
Petrie and Wisconsin behind the net aabra Murphy over to
try and control it and to play along the boards.
Wisconsin will slide it down, chasing it as Gorbatanco layed
around on the near side. Matthews picked it up off
the near wall and comes in over the line control
to get pressure by the Buckeyes. Petrie along with Matthew's
(01:19:58):
right there just inside the blue line trying to free it.
We're down to nine forty two remaining here in the
second period, still no score, and it comes back Ohio
State along the back side on the far boards in
front of the badger bench. Harvey holds it in. Here's
Harvey moving it in shot.
Speaker 6 (01:20:19):
O man, what a nice kick save there, boy, great
move just to get open to get that shot off.
Speaker 5 (01:20:25):
Yep man coming back over to control it. Here's Harvey
with it. Harvey coming up, Ice skates through the neutral zone.
Harvey comes in over the line. Harvey controls it down
in the corner. Harvey centered it right out in front
along the boards, back to the point on the play
back over to Jungles. Jungles with it down on the
corner near side. They try to move it and right
(01:20:47):
with it on the left side and right centered it
in front of.
Speaker 8 (01:20:50):
The net and then right digging.
Speaker 5 (01:20:52):
It out, picked up and controlled back over to scanner.
Scannal's drive that hit Matthews and Badgers come back up
to pick it up. Jungles quickly ahead on the play
intended for n right and in the neutral zone. Ohio
State controlling it and with it is von Hannen. Von
Hannen Van drops it back and it's played. The Badgers
(01:21:15):
work the wing down in the corner near boards to
try and bring it out with a fifty two or mending.
In the second period of play, there's a shot in
traffic that's blocked. Twenty to fifteen now in shots but
still no score. Play along on the far side there's
a drive and it's in front of the Badger net.
Coming over to pick it up. End right along the
(01:21:36):
near boards. Tried to hit oh per card on the lead,
turn back and ear's done quickly on the pass.
Speaker 8 (01:21:43):
They head over the Baxter. Baxter drove it a wide.
Speaker 5 (01:21:46):
Of the goal, comes all the way around. Disher tried
to hold his zone. Wisconsin will turn and back. They come,
They'll drive it back along and gathering it. Whistle and
play is going.
Speaker 8 (01:21:59):
To be stopped here.
Speaker 6 (01:22:00):
You know that's not a bad play.
Speaker 5 (01:22:02):

side and Ohio State trying to pick it up. Edwards
with it down in the corner back out on top
Wisconsin setting it up. Both teams at full strength here
(01:23:45):
and whistling. Play is going to be stopped. Banusio is out,
Rannie Potter is out. Cassie Hall along with Kirston Simms
and Leyley Edwards out on the ice.
Speaker 8 (01:23:59):
Face off.
Speaker 5 (01:23:59):
Will come to the right side of Haley McDowell irmacleod
pardoning and on the way to the near side over
the Venusio back in behind. Ohio State leads the WCHA
and face offs one and controlling it along the boards
(01:24:20):
on the near side. Dump back down on the corner
over the try and pick it up Glay still continues
along the near boards in the corner and Disher with
it fired it around to the far side, trying to
bring it out to dun Doune is tied up in
the corner. Cassie Hall's got done, tied up. Disher with
it played it behind the depp. Ohio State will turn
(01:24:41):
and they work at ringside on the break coming up
Ice controlling it coming in over the line. Was done,
whistle and action's going to be stopped. Six point fifty
four remaining in the second period of plays.
Speaker 16 (01:24:53):
Nice job there, Potter forstered wide. She got a shot off,
but a real wide angle, so good deed.
Speaker 8 (01:25:01):
And the guest again.
Speaker 5 (01:25:04):
Aiden Michaels chatted with Finley McCarthy after last Saturday's weekend
series Saturday Sunday, she'll be our intermission guest between periods
two and three here and if we have enough time,
we'll have a short hit and one with Lacey Eden
talking about playing against Ohio State in this building. Six
(01:25:28):
forty nine remaining in the second period. These clubs, by
the way, we'll play tomorrow and the game will be
on one hundred point nine FM. That's one hundred point
nine FM.
Speaker 8 (01:25:42):
Tomorrow. That's in the afternoon.
Speaker 5 (01:25:46):
Bounces back in the Badger zone over to pick it
up along the boards on the near side.
Speaker 8 (01:25:52):
That's an afternoon game. Is it two or three? I
got a lot.
Speaker 6 (01:25:55):
I think it's three o'clock here at two o'clock back home, yep.
Speaker 5 (01:25:59):
Two o'clock Central Podcast on one hundred point nine infl
and covering off ice, controlling it, the Buckeyes carry it,
Peachery with it, We'll fire it.
Speaker 8 (01:26:10):
Down and going back down to the corner over trying
to control it.
Speaker 5 (01:26:14):
Six twelve remaining here in a scoreless game, and Ava
Murphy moving it ahead. Ava controls the puck, slides it
around on the far side. Greeney and I were talking
while the commercial was gonna be was playing and said,
if you pick a Badger to score a goal, we
both came up with the same one.
Speaker 8 (01:26:32):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (01:26:33):
She's wearing number six, yeah, fee for the Badgers, yep.
Speaker 5 (01:26:36):
And coming over to try and pick it up. She's
got thirteen points in her last four game. Well, very
effective in a small rink.
Speaker 8 (01:26:43):
Players.
Speaker 28 (01:26:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 16 (01:26:44):
You may ask why why are we so unanimously picking her? Well,
the way she works and her feet are moving with
or without the puck.
Speaker 5 (01:26:53):
Harvey and over the line. She's pretty nifty with her
stick and moving past defenders.
Speaker 8 (01:26:58):
It's like, where did she go?
Speaker 15 (01:27:00):
Right?
Speaker 8 (01:27:01):
He was just there? Wait a minute, now she's.
Speaker 6 (01:27:03):
Got that little deceptive move, needs no space, hardly at all,
gets by him.
Speaker 5 (01:27:09):
Five point twenty one remaining in the second period. After
this weekend, the Badgers are going to take some time off.
Speaker 8 (01:27:17):
Yeah, we got the break.
Speaker 6 (01:27:19):
Yeah, they'll have what twenty games under their belt?
Speaker 8 (01:27:23):
Yep, they will.
Speaker 6 (01:27:24):
Boy, it's gone fast.
Speaker 8 (01:27:25):
And the next action will be in Minnesota Duluth in
the first weekend of.
Speaker 6 (01:27:31):
January, January ninth, maybe if I'm not mistaken.
Speaker 5 (01:27:34):
Around that period of time, yep, the Bulldogs and then
onto the Twin Cities the following week to play Saint Thomas,
to come home and play Bamidgie and then.
Speaker 8 (01:27:46):
Go back and play the golfers and back in behind
the act.
Speaker 5 (01:27:49):
They're in the state of Minnesota three out of the
four weeks they play hockey. Next in January, Enraich comes
in over the line, plays back down in behind, coming
back on the far side, and the Badgers will have
their entire roster through the Bamidgi series and then it
will be official. Who are they going to lose? There's
(01:28:13):
Cassie Hall with the drive right on.
Speaker 8 (01:28:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:28:17):
I was talking to Mark today. He said he thinks
there's no official at Foster and or time when they're going.
Speaker 29 (01:28:25):
To do it.
Speaker 6 (01:28:26):
They're pretty big on it.
Speaker 5 (01:28:27):
He's thinking it's going to be late. There's that big
tournament in the Twin City over the holidays. I think
around there where maybe right after the first of the
year or late last week in December, first week of January,
you'll find out probably and it's going to be played
back down going over to pick it up. But at
(01:28:50):
least you know the Badgers are all going to be
together for the next three series. Delus Saint Thomas and
the midges and coming back into the line, there's a
drive of that locked and knocked away and the wing
on the near side.
Speaker 8 (01:29:03):
Coming over to pick it up. Four fifteen remaining here
in the second period. Still don't have a goal in
this game.
Speaker 5 (01:29:10):
It's going to be dump back down in the corner
and Wisconsin looking to fore check with Kirsten Simms along
with Cassie Hall and the Buckeyes turn and they'll bring
it back up ice with it as Peatree comes in
over the line working with von Hannen and on the
(01:29:30):
far side trying to control it and in the neutral
zone Kirsten Sims along with Cassie Hall. It's backhanded down
deep in the zone of the Badgers to my Simmer
one and three four players in the corner on the
far side trying to get control of the puck. The
(01:29:53):
official take here, let him play. Badger's come out of
the zone. They got Kirsten Simms on the lefts well
down and did they get a penalty?
Speaker 8 (01:30:04):
Yes they did.
Speaker 6 (01:30:05):
Yeah, that was pretty flagrant. She got tripped right off yep.
Speaker 5 (01:30:09):
So the Badgers are going to go on their second
power play opportunity here.
Speaker 6 (01:30:13):
Boy, it'd be nice to convert here with three seventeen
left to go in a period.
Speaker 5 (01:30:17):
But let's see who's going to be out on the
ice for the power play situation.
Speaker 6 (01:30:23):
Tripping is the call, yep, and they've got uh Swiderski
going to.
Speaker 5 (01:30:28):
The box, and you've got Gorbatanco is out for the Badgers,
Lady Potter is out for the Badgers, Scannal is out,
Jungles is out in Cassie Hall on the power play.
Speaker 6 (01:30:44):
Boy, love to see him convert on this.
Speaker 5 (01:30:45):
Paul Potter and Cassie Hall or Scandal are having a
little discussion about it. See if that strategy works. Jungles
are getting into the act too.
Speaker 16 (01:31:02):
We've got some conversation over there with the officials. I'm
not sure what it entails.
Speaker 7 (01:31:06):
Here.
Speaker 8 (01:31:06):
We'll take a break.
Speaker 5 (01:31:07):
This is Wisconsin Badgers Women's hockey on ten seventy of

and at Fields we treat you like one.
Speaker 24 (01:31:35):

seventy two months on a twenty twenty six Bobo XC
sixty at Fields Vovo Cars Madison.
Speaker 5 (01:31:48):
We're back here in Columbus, Ohio and Field's Madison Luxury
Auto Group serving customers since nineteen seventy one. We had
officials over there on the far side, and we have
not announced that they have changed their mind about him.
We were wondering if it might be a fire. Nadine
(01:32:10):
Mazarol is looking for an explanation right now as to
exactly what happened.
Speaker 16 (01:32:15):
I think she's just buying a little time here, Paul.
I don't know, a little gamesmanship going on. She sends
her crew of four out here to kill the penalty.
Speaker 6 (01:32:25):
But here we go.
Speaker 8 (01:32:28):
Face off coming up to the right side, back in
the buck eye zone. Now they've changed up.
Speaker 5 (01:32:32):
Leila Edwards is out, the Harvey is out and Shapova
Lavova trying to win the face off for the Badger
and she did win it to Edwards, back over to
Harvey or out of the far side, over the Kirsten Simms.
They come back over to Leila Edwards with a drive
and that was deflected a lot.
Speaker 8 (01:32:52):
Of the goal in the corner. Badger's look to hold
it in Sims back door shataul yeah, chap Ovalla ba yeah,
oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:33:03):
It may have gone off one of the buck eyes,
but gosh, chap Ovalla bah Bah gets the goal for
the Wisconsin Badgers for eighth goal of the year, and
Wisconsin leads it.
Speaker 8 (01:33:17):
One to nothing.
Speaker 6 (01:33:18):
Man.
Speaker 16 (01:33:18):
That goal was preceded by some great passing moving that puck.
Sims dished it, Edwards made a nice pass. They all
were involved. I think I don't know who they're going
to give assists to off hand, but boy, oh boy,
good puck movement on the power play to end up
with a goal by Shappy to take a one to
lead with three h two to go.
Speaker 6 (01:33:38):
Paul, Oh, we were wrong on who scored it, but
who cares exactly. That's fine with me to lose that bet.
Speaker 8 (01:33:45):
I'll take it. Man.
Speaker 5 (01:33:47):
Coming back the buck guys turned try to pick it up,
and they have just given us wait a minute here
that it's got to be corrected. You know what it says,
huh goal by Eden power play really unassisted?
Speaker 8 (01:34:06):
No way?
Speaker 6 (01:34:08):
I mean, you gotta be kidding me. I don't know
what they're smoking in the scores.
Speaker 8 (01:34:13):
Yeah, that's no way. I don't.
Speaker 5 (01:34:15):
It would be nice that if it was Eaton or Chapo,
but there's no way Schapo took the shot, right, Yeah.
Speaker 16 (01:34:23):
I uh, we'll see if that stands or what goes on.
But unassisted, there's no way. Not with all a puck
movement that proceeded that score.
Speaker 8 (01:34:34):
My eyes are not what they used to be, but
they're not that bad, right, I.
Speaker 6 (01:34:38):
Think they're holding up Okay, Paul.
Speaker 5 (01:34:39):
I'm not very soiver trying to pick it up and
control in the neutral zone. That quite the crowd here too. Yeah,
but I'll tell you what, I'd feel a lot better
and I know you would too if there was like
three or four there.
Speaker 6 (01:34:50):
I'll tell you what. Yeah, it's a skin tight game
no matter what.
Speaker 5 (01:34:53):
Here back in behind the net around over to pick
it up this year with it around of the far side,
Murphy tried to hold his own badgers hold it in.
He tried to pick it up. Nice hustle. Good for
check by Haul and Eden and the play it bounced
over the shoulder of Venusio and Wisconsin comes out of
their own zone. Aba Murphy slides it a head over
(01:35:15):
to Gorbatenko. Kelly with it give and go back over
to Murphy. Shot at all stick saved made by the goaltender.
Murphy on the fore check trying to hold it in
the corner. Good job there, and Shapo Vallaboba comes over
to try and help out, but they play it past
her sticks and move it up. Ice k Tree comes
in all line moving it in. It's Matthews in front
(01:35:36):
with a shot and the cage got knocked loose.
Speaker 6 (01:35:40):
Yeah yeah, Bucky went hard to the net as a result,
the cage got knocked off.
Speaker 5 (01:35:49):
And we're down to one forty seven or remitting. Venusio
threw a check after the whistle.
Speaker 16 (01:35:55):
Well, and I think she's gonna get put Well, I
don't know if they're calling anything or not.
Speaker 6 (01:36:00):
Here there was a little post vessel activity, Paul, but
I'm not sure who was doing what, to be honest
with you.
Speaker 8 (01:36:07):
And we'll have the face off coming up here. They
still have not changed the.
Speaker 6 (01:36:11):
Goal, and it's still five on five, and they're going
to have a face off to the right of Ava.
Speaker 5 (01:36:18):
So here we go, and that face off coming up
back in behind the net around of the far side.
Now the fans are trying to come alive and get
it going here and trying to chase it.
Speaker 8 (01:36:29):
Down, eating with it, eating with.
Speaker 5 (01:36:30):
A tremendous amount of hustle on that kidding Shapovolivova and
now Gorbatanco and Schapovallivova. Badger's turn and coming in to
help out his Eden. Play comes through center ice, picked
up by math. Oh wow, that's partially deflected by Harvey.
If Matthews had it played away down to one sixteen
(01:36:52):
were men and you don't want to give up a
goal laid in a period here twenty five eighteen shots
one nothing lead. Wisconsin are out of the far side
over trying to control it on the wing, and we're
at the one minute mark in the second period when
both teams at full strength here trying to control it
at the blue line of the Badgers over trying to
(01:37:14):
set it up and control Wisconsin.
Speaker 8 (01:37:17):
Along the boards, get it out of the zone. They
did scandal with it on the play.
Speaker 5 (01:37:21):
Ohio State comes back into the line forty three seconds
remaining in the period. Badgers in their own zone trying
to set it up to get it out and get
the pressure off your disher with it off on the
wing on the play to done done along the boards.
They've got their top people out there and just inside
(01:37:42):
the line. There's a shot around of the far side
controlling at twenty seconds for minting Wisconsin in their own
zone along the boards. We'll work it up ice end
controlling the neutral zone. Comes on the wing on the
near side over the try and pick it up and
the play is going to be played back down on
the corner back of it to jungles. Jungles around of
(01:38:04):
the far side. They work the wing in the corner
down and we've come to the end of the second
period of play your thoughts, Greeny on a one to
nothing lead by the Badgers after two period.
Speaker 16 (01:38:15):
I tell you, I'm glad we converted on that power play.
We have some good port checking pressure there. We created
a few opportunities. I'm glad we capitalized on one of them.
Speaker 8 (01:38:25):
And we'll be back.
Speaker 5 (01:38:26):
This is Wisconsin Badger Women's hockey on ten seventy the game.

This is house call for health. Tea, coffee, nuts, and
berries are all good for your heart. Polyphenols are found
in these foods and they've long been known to benefit
a person's brain, heart and gut health. But now researchers
from King's College in London have tracked the cholesterol levels
and blood pressure of more than thirty one hundred UK
adults for eleven years. Also monitoring cardiovascular risk profiles for
(01:39:23):
those participants, they found the more polyphenols in the bloodstream,
the more heart risk factors like cholesterol levels and blood
pressure improved. Also that adding foods with polyphenols into a
person's diet in small amounts can help protect the heart.
The team notes, even though a person's heart risk naturally
increases with age, polyphenol rich diets can help slow that progression.
The study also says these plant compounds are widely available
(01:39:46):
in everyday foods, making this a practical strategy for most people.
That study was published in the journal BMC Medicine. For

This is Badger basketball coach Greg Guard for our Paying

(01:40:23):
seven thousand dollars since the campaign began. Thank you to
our sponsors and on Wisconsin.
Speaker 27 (01:40:37):
Aid and Michael with Finland McCarthy. Good fantastic. So obviously
you got your first goal.
Speaker 29 (01:40:43):
Of the season in Nashville last weekend on the first
shot of the game. How did it feel to finally
light the lamp?
Speaker 35 (01:40:50):
Yeah, finally open the floodgates hopefully. It was fun to
be in Nashville Thanksgiving. So my family was there, so
all good things.
Speaker 27 (01:40:58):
Which family members are there for you?
Speaker 22 (01:41:00):
My mom was there and she's visiting some old friends
in town.
Speaker 27 (01:41:04):
So has she come to any games here at La
Man yet?
Speaker 22 (01:41:07):
Yes, I want to say she was at the Gophers series.
They all kind of blend together, but yeah, she's been
to a couple so far this season.
Speaker 29 (01:41:15):
So obviously, being in your second year here as a sophomore,
what is the biggest difference that you've seen in your
game from last year translating into this season.
Speaker 35 (01:41:23):
Yeah, I feel like I have a little more confidence
on the ice, especially with the puck game slowed down
a little bit.
Speaker 29 (01:41:30):
Question for you, So the lines have been mixed up
quite a bit, obviously you played on a new.
Speaker 27 (01:41:34):
Line this past weekend. Do you like playing with new
linements or do you sort of like a solidified line.
Speaker 35 (01:41:41):
Yeah, there's something to be said about like lines kind
of growing chemistry together. But I do enjoy kind of
switching it up, see what fits, and like know what sticks.
Speaker 22 (01:41:51):
And what doesn't.
Speaker 27 (01:41:52):
So you obviously started playing hockey at a very very
young age. Who was it that got you into hockey?
Speaker 22 (01:41:58):
Yeah? So I would say initially my brother. He's two
years older than me, So I was around the rink
since I could remember. I would get jealous that he
was out there and I wasn't.
Speaker 35 (01:42:08):
So I put on the skates I think at three
years old, and essentially our mom got us into it.
Speaker 22 (01:42:14):
She's from Minnesota and grew up playing.
Speaker 27 (01:42:17):
Is hockey big in Montana?
Speaker 35 (01:42:20):
No, there are about seven rinks in the entire state,
so it's very spare spars smars.
Speaker 22 (01:42:30):
Yeah, not big at all. We don't have like high
school teams or anything. I think like our closest team
we'd have to travel to it was like two hours.
Speaker 27 (01:42:37):
Was it always hockey for you or the other sports
in the mix?
Speaker 35 (01:42:40):
I grew up ski racing as well, like Downhill. I
did a little cross country skiing as well.
Speaker 22 (01:42:46):
I think when I was ten or eleven. We kind
of had to pick one because they're same season sports.
But yeah, I really enjoyed downhill.
Speaker 27 (01:42:54):
Tell me more about that. How did you even get
into that sort of thing?
Speaker 35 (01:42:59):
My parents Again, my dad's from New York and my
mom's from Minnesota, and they both kind of moved to
Montana to ski bum when they were younger and put
us right in skiing I think about the same time
as hockey, and we kind of.
Speaker 22 (01:43:11):
Just grew up in both.
Speaker 29 (01:43:12):
Obviously, no NHL team in Montana. Do you have a
favorite NHL team?
Speaker 22 (01:43:18):
I think when not really, my family cheers for the Avalanche.
I think, like most people in Montana, chure for Vegas.
Speaker 27 (01:43:28):
But yeah, why Vegas.
Speaker 35 (01:43:31):
The owner of the Vegas team started our rink, so
he brings He brought the Stanley Cup up. I don't know,
a couple of years ago, but yeah, I think by
association people fans makes sense.
Speaker 27 (01:43:44):
Did you see the Stanley Cup when it went to Montana?
Speaker 22 (01:43:46):
I did, Yes, That's very fun.
Speaker 27 (01:43:48):
Did you get to touch it?
Speaker 6 (01:43:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 22 (01:43:50):
I have a few pictures with it, maybe too many,
and to see it.
Speaker 27 (01:43:53):
Too, m d luck if you touch it before you
win it.
Speaker 8 (01:43:56):
Did he touch it?
Speaker 15 (01:43:57):
No?
Speaker 35 (01:43:57):
It Actually the cup came to when I he he
was probably five years old, and I was like, tuition,
there's a picture of me in the cup. And my
mom told my brother. She was like, you can't touch
it or else you'll never win it. And she feels
bad to this day. He was pretty sad he couldn't
touch it.
Speaker 27 (01:44:12):
It happens. But I mean it's the era that not
the stereotype.
Speaker 13 (01:44:15):
What do you call it?
Speaker 29 (01:44:16):
The superstitions right anyway, So obviously again like you being
the only player to ever played for Wisconsin when was
hockey from the state of Montana, how was that recruitment process,
Like where did Wisconsin find you?
Speaker 20 (01:44:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 35 (01:44:29):
I went to BK pretty early on because there's really
no opportunity for girls in the state of Montana. It's
growing for sure since I was younger, so there's like
a few more travel teams they have going on.
Speaker 22 (01:44:43):
But I played for Bishop Carney Seles my eighth grade
year to my senior year, and I was recruited then
my tenth grade year.
Speaker 29 (01:44:51):
When was your first time visiting Madison? I assume you
got to see the campus before you came here.
Speaker 35 (01:44:57):
Actually, well, I played in the what was that the
tw eighteen Worlds when it was held in Madison, so
I saw the city then in the campus. I never
took any official visits once commitment opened up.
Speaker 22 (01:45:13):
Yeah, I could pretty early. I want to say, like
two or three weeks after June tenth or fifteenth, whatever
it was.
Speaker 13 (01:45:20):
Got it.
Speaker 15 (01:45:21):
So.
Speaker 27 (01:45:21):
Obviously we were in Nashville last weekend.
Speaker 8 (01:45:24):
Fun trip.
Speaker 29 (01:45:24):
Obviously that's not a place we normally get to go to.
You guys won the guitar trophy and actual guitar, which
is pretty cool.
Speaker 22 (01:45:30):
We took it home, right, Yeah, Well it's in the
locker room and set.
Speaker 8 (01:45:33):
Up you play.
Speaker 27 (01:45:34):
Does anybody play right?
Speaker 22 (01:45:36):
When we got in the locker room, Lacey tried to
play it. Yeah, I don't think it was tuned right?
Speaker 13 (01:45:41):
Got it?
Speaker 15 (01:45:42):
So?
Speaker 29 (01:45:42):
I also heard there was some karaoke going on this weekend.
Were you a participant?
Speaker 6 (01:45:47):
Yes.
Speaker 35 (01:45:48):
A lot of the girls were singing, so it was
kind of set up pretty fun. We had like team karaoke,
and then we had duets and then we had solos.
Speaker 22 (01:45:55):
Again.
Speaker 35 (01:45:56):
Lacey won the solo. She was a big line dancer.
It was amazing on my team and we did Me
and Ama Boozio did a duet. It was your man
and like our low voices. But yeah, I think it
was just pretty fun activity.
Speaker 22 (01:46:10):
I don't enjoyed it.
Speaker 6 (01:46:11):
Is that your go to karaoke or.
Speaker 22 (01:46:13):
No, I wouldn't say so. I don't know if I
have a go to.
Speaker 13 (01:46:17):
That's fair enough.
Speaker 29 (01:46:17):
Obviously, successful weekend again, the record breaking performance seventeen goals
you had the.
Speaker 27 (01:46:23):
First though that was a come one.
Speaker 21 (01:46:25):
What is it?
Speaker 27 (01:46:25):
I can't imagine.
Speaker 29 (01:46:26):
Maybe you have played in a game like that where
you're just scoring every single time, nine goals in one
period for example. What is it like to play in
a game like that where you're just scoring every single shift?
Speaker 35 (01:46:35):
It seems like, Yeah, I mean it's pretty fun, like
when pucks are going in, like kids are shooting everything,
moving the puck around well, and it's just fun to
play offense for essentially a full sixty minutes.
Speaker 27 (01:46:47):
And my last question just back to business.
Speaker 29 (01:46:48):
Obviously, big match coming up this weekend in Columbus, the
rematch of the National Championship Game. Any difference in preparation
heading into this weekend or same as always?
Speaker 22 (01:46:57):
Yeah, I think we're excited.
Speaker 35 (01:47:00):
Last time we saw him was the National champship game.
I think we're just like sticking to what's been working.
We did score a lot of goals last weekend, so
hopefully we bring that into this weekend as well.
Speaker 29 (01:47:09):
All right, thanks Billy, Yes, thank you, And we're back
here at the home of the Buck Eyes in Columbus, Ohio.
Speaker 5 (01:47:17):
That Finley McCarthy get giving you a little insight into
her aiden Michaels conducting that interview there. A little bit
earlier today, I had a chance to talk with Lacey Eden.
She's potentially one of the candidates for the Olympic team.
But mainly what we wanted to talk about, she's on
a pretty good.
Speaker 8 (01:47:36):
Streak going right now.
Speaker 5 (01:47:37):
In the last four games, Lacey has thirteen points. She
had eight points last weekend and was the WCCHA Forward
of the week.
Speaker 8 (01:47:50):
Let's hear from her right now.
Speaker 5 (01:47:52):
Back during the intermission, Paul Brown with Lacey Eden, thirteen
points in your last four games.
Speaker 13 (01:47:57):
You've got a little streak goings kind of nice.
Speaker 15 (01:48:01):
Yeah, I mean, so it's nice to get those wins
in the w category and put up a few points
while we're at it. Kind of just get going and
it's good going into this weekend as.
Speaker 13 (01:48:16):
Well, you know, and I meet it in a complimentary way.
Speaker 5 (01:48:19):
For example, the one goal you, huh helped set up
last weekend, when you beat the opponent to the it
seems like your full speed two hundred feet both ways
up and down the rink.
Speaker 13 (01:48:30):
Is that what's helping in all of this in your game?
Speaker 15 (01:48:33):
Yeah, I mean you have to play a defense to
get those offensive chances, and beating players to the puck
is something that I think I hold myself to a
high standard too, So just being able to win those
fifty to fifty battles and create those opportunities for my teammates.
Speaker 13 (01:48:50):
Uh, feels good. I'll tell you what this weekend is.
What you guys play for, isn't it games like this? Yeah?
Speaker 15 (01:48:57):
These dates have been marked in our calendar for long time,
so we're excited to get out there.
Speaker 13 (01:49:02):
We know they have a small rink, we know they're
gunning for us, so just got to get on our
horses and go.
Speaker 5 (01:49:10):
I was going to ask you about that in terms
of this small rink, what is a due lacy In
terms of In other words, if you and I were
talking after the game and you guys have won, what
would you have done well in that small rink.
Speaker 15 (01:49:22):
I think it's a lot about board play. In the
smaller rink, the game moves a lot faster, a lot
of pucks are being rimmed, pucks have to be taken
off of the yellow. So whoever is more successful at that,
whoever can do that break out pucks and cause havoc on.
Speaker 9 (01:49:40):
The fore shape check is going to be successful today.
Speaker 36 (01:49:42):
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't been around
women's hockey that long in the Ohiose State Wisconsin series,
but what I see is they're very physical with you,
and they're very aggressive on the fore check.
Speaker 13 (01:49:54):
Is that kind of a good analysis?
Speaker 6 (01:49:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (01:49:56):
I mean our team is fast.
Speaker 15 (01:49:58):
We have a lot of speed, so a lot of
teams try to play us really physically, try to slow us.
Speaker 13 (01:50:03):
Down a little bit.
Speaker 15 (01:50:04):
So I think a way to combat that is stand
our ground, play physical game back, and continue playing our style.
Speaker 13 (01:50:12):
Of the game. It's pleasure watching you play the best
of them. Thank you so much.
Speaker 5 (01:50:19):
That's Lacy Eden, one of a number of players that
the Badgers are going to lose at the end of
this season. It's going to be a big class. It's
going to be leaving the program it's kiky. Harvey is
not going to be back. All of them have used
up their eligibility and graduation and that type of thing.
Lacy Eden, who you just heard from, Leila Edwards will
(01:50:42):
not be back. Zilich will also not be back.
Speaker 8 (01:50:47):
She'll be done.
Speaker 5 (01:50:49):
Picard is ending her career, so is Vivian Jungles and
Kirsten Simms are all the players that will be leaving
the Badger program after this year. We have three minutes
and twenty seconds on the intermission clock and then we'll
be ready to go.
Speaker 8 (01:51:07):
Greenie's coming back. We'll take a break.
Speaker 5 (01:51:10):

Speaker 5 (01:53:27):
You talk to the team, the official staffs still show
Lacy Eden with the assist going to Kirsten Simms.
Speaker 8 (01:53:36):
And you talk to the people down there, and they said,
what they thought?
Speaker 6 (01:53:39):
It was shaffy? They said, I'm pretty sure. I said,
who scored that one? They shappy?
Speaker 13 (01:53:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:53:45):
And so I don't know.
Speaker 16 (01:53:46):
Like I said, I don't know what the guy's smoking
that's keeping score. But whatever it is, he's having too
much of it.
Speaker 6 (01:53:52):
I don't know. But we'll see, you know. Nonetheless, it counts.
Speaker 8 (01:53:58):
I have to say, and normally I don't do this.
Speaker 5 (01:54:00):
I have there's some situations here that I have never
seen in sixty years of broadcasting. Obviously, you never all
of those years had the internet, right, but it's been
around for a while, just a while.
Speaker 8 (01:54:14):
We don't even have an Internet line here. They're doing
this on a wireless broadcast.
Speaker 5 (01:54:20):
They didn't even print out the stats of the weekly release.
Speaker 8 (01:54:25):
Yeah, that's odd, that's I mean, it's it's just unbelievable.
Speaker 6 (01:54:29):
It's a big university.
Speaker 5 (01:54:30):
I don't know, it's you know, it's the Ohio State. Oh,
here we go, Paul, All right, now not for that,
are out of the far side.
Speaker 8 (01:54:44):
I'm gonna pick it up. Both teams at full strength
nineteenth the boy and now there's done.
Speaker 5 (01:54:51):
Nice play there, don to moving it around in front
shot ooh, just hip wide. They had good pressure there
and the chance by uh Roneio for that tip there.
The Badger's down on the zone and the carboards ober
To try and pick it up and whistle and play
is going to be stopped.
Speaker 6 (01:55:10):
Yeah. Well, like I said, you know they got the goal.
Someone else. I thought that was a stave off gave
his stick there. You don't see a save recorded for her,
but oh well.
Speaker 5 (01:55:22):
Face off coming up to the left side of McLeod
back in the Buckeye zone. Lacy Eden trying to win
the face off for the Badgers here and coming back
to her to pick it up.
Speaker 8 (01:55:36):
It's Potter.
Speaker 5 (01:55:36):
Potter down in the corner of them to your side,
plays behind the net and the Badgers try to hold
the doone zone. Venusio with it with a drive right
on in the save his man.
Speaker 6 (01:55:47):
Why she hustled to keep that thing in the zone, Paul,
I'm glad she did it.
Speaker 8 (01:55:51):
I'm gonna pull a Bill Howard and you know what
that is.
Speaker 6 (01:55:56):
Let's hear it.
Speaker 5 (01:55:57):
The next goal is a big on the next goal, PB,
that's a big one. You gotta love, Howie, Ronald the
fire side over to pick it up and control and Wisconsin,
oh what a oh nice play?
Speaker 8 (01:56:13):
Yeah, And pushing that away was Laney Potter.
Speaker 16 (01:56:16):
They almost had a breakaway boarding house reach he used it,
came in handy.
Speaker 5 (01:56:20):
And coming back down the Buckeyes will go back in
their own zone over to pick it up and we'll
have an icing called here in the third period.
Speaker 6 (01:56:27):
Yeah, Howie, I do remember that familiar. The next goal
is a big one, Peb. And he was usually correct too, though.
Speaker 5 (01:56:35):
Yeah, oh, used to tell me everything you learned about hockey,
I've taught you.
Speaker 15 (01:56:44):
You know what.
Speaker 8 (01:56:45):
A lot of that was true too.
Speaker 6 (01:56:46):
He knew the game. He knew the game no doubt.
Speaker 5 (01:56:49):
Asopped down to the corner on the far side or
to set it up and control Amos around back on
the point on the play off on the far wing,
Wisconsin with a one.
Speaker 8 (01:57:00):
To nothing lead in this game.
Speaker 5 (01:57:02):
Here Shappo goes behind the at around over to try
and control it, and Gorbatanco comes over to try and
pick it up and deflected up into the Badger bench.
The Badger bench by the way, the players, there's a
group of people in one press box.
Speaker 8 (01:57:22):
That's where we were last year.
Speaker 6 (01:57:23):
Yeah, right above the bench.
Speaker 8 (01:57:24):
You couldn't even see who was coming off the bench
or who's on the bench.
Speaker 6 (01:57:29):
No, you got to take a rope toe to get
up there. I think, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:57:34):
Along on the far side, trying to control it back
around deep in the zone in the corner. Both teams
at equal strength here in the third period, Scandal turn
trying to bring it out of the zone. Badgers try
to work the wing to pick it up back in
their own zone.
Speaker 8 (01:57:50):
They're moving from.
Speaker 5 (01:57:51):
Left to right here in the third period of play.
Aba McNaughton watching the traffic and the Badgers try to
play it out of the zone, picking up up and
Wright sgating and then right down on the corner and
right center that's right out in front nobody home for
Wisconsin and at the point that's held in by Jungles.
Played around on the far side. Wisconsin will work the wing.
(01:58:13):
Jungles can't hold the point, asks to back it out
to center ice. Wisconsin's got to clear the zone. They do,
and Scandal turns and fires it in and they'll change
up badgers. Harvey coming out onto the ice as Wisconsin
gets the change. Potter is out along on the play
Kirsten Simms edwards and they'm moving it up ice. Cassie
(01:58:36):
Hall is the fifth Badger out on the ice. Play
around on the far side, haul over to pick it up,
trying to backhand it out of the Wisconsin zone. Matthews
breaks that up for Ohio State, carries it back into
the Wisconsin line, cleared from matthews stick, but it's held
in Ohio State. There's a shot in traffic, oh and
(01:58:56):
Cassie Hall may have taken the brunt of that one.
There's the drive. It went wide of the goal, deflected
off the stick of Petrie.
Speaker 6 (01:59:05):
Hauling holding her right hand. She's hurting from that shot.
Speaker 8 (01:59:08):
Yep, she's going off, but she is.
Speaker 5 (01:59:11):
Let's see, we'll get see if we can spot her
with us stephanees over there right away trying to get
it moving.
Speaker 6 (01:59:18):
How did that stay out of the goal that they
deflected it?
Speaker 5 (01:59:20):
I believe it the last second the sixteen fifty two
were remaining in the third period of Ohio State coming
up Ice controlling it.
Speaker 8 (01:59:29):
They come in over the line, they try to move
it in. They shot taking.
Speaker 5 (01:59:33):
Nice save as done was turned away by Aba McNaughton
with the kick saved. Boy, what a play there around
the near side. Shot off the wall in front. Badgers
look to clear it. Ohio State just outside the Badger line.
They look like they got a little more jump here
(01:59:53):
in the third period and it comes through neutral ice,
Wisconsin coming back to her to pick it up and
with it is Eden who slapped it off the glass.
Ohio State lets it go and they'll drive it back
down on the corner on the right side coming into
the zone. Wisconsin back along the wall on their own zone,
looking trying to get it out.
Speaker 8 (02:00:17):
And down in the corner with it.
Speaker 5 (02:00:18):
Ava Murphy comes around on the way by for checking
on the part of Ohio State. They hold it in
with Simarani and whistle and action's going to be stopped
in the zone of Wisconsin.
Speaker 16 (02:00:31):
Yeah, Eva wisely covered it up there. We were scrambling
around a little bit there, puck was taking some odd
bounce and silk.
Speaker 6 (02:00:37):
We'll have a face off to Ava's right here.
Speaker 8 (02:00:39):
Twenty seven to twenty one shots in the game.
Speaker 5 (02:00:42):
Badger's leaded one to not there and KK Harvey comes
out of the ice, but card is out, Scandal is
out and ride is out. Face off coming up to
the right side of Ava McNaughton and the puck is
loose on the boards near side. I'm trying to control it.
(02:01:02):
Scandal watching the play. Badgers try to check it out
and pick it up. Nice play by enright enright comes
in over the line on the right side, pulls up,
tried to lead it through the scannal and it's going
to be played back in behind the at Ohio State
turns and.
Speaker 8 (02:01:17):
They fire it up the near boards. That sent a rise.
Speaker 5 (02:01:20):
They try to control the puck. They come in over
the Wisconsin line. Out is von Hannen with Matthews and
Petrie von Handen had it. Wisconsin turning back in their
own zone, getting pressure on the play from von Hannah.
Speaker 8 (02:01:36):
Badgers turning out. They come through.
Speaker 5 (02:01:38):
Neutral book held in look out. Here's a break. Oh,
they try to go back doors. Nothing was done, but
couldn't get her what on the stick there on the puck.
Speaker 16 (02:01:50):
I thought they were gonna go with off that short
end wall there, Paul oh Man just wide and you
know what I mean.
Speaker 8 (02:01:55):
It's you.
Speaker 5 (02:01:56):
Then it's pressure by Amos along with Dunn and Svenson Badgers.
Here's a potential to on one the other way, moving
it in a shot that went all the way around
the corner Ava and trying to come over and pick
it up along the boards down in the corner. Peekin'
(02:02:16):
hoggin over on the play, trying to control it. Wisconsin
in front, Sims with a backhand or that's block comes
around on the play on the right side. It comes
around over to Lany Potter in front of Edwards shot
and it was steered away from the nap Sims over
to try and pick it out.
Speaker 6 (02:02:35):
I like Edwards at forward, yeah, I'll tell you. I
like her back there, very effective.
Speaker 5 (02:02:39):
And whistle and action's going to be stopped in the
zone of Ohio stay.
Speaker 6 (02:02:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 16 (02:02:46):
Edwards is right on the doorstep there. I thought she's
going to put one away and McLoud made a heck of.
Speaker 5 (02:02:50):
A seat fourteen oh seven or a manning here. In
the third period of play, Sim's having a conversation with
unicer as they leave the ice. Edwards is off, Potter
is out, Venusio is out, Shapovolivova is out. Based off
(02:03:14):
coming up to the left side of McLoud and Gorbatanko
and Eden are on the forward line as well. Badgers
hold it, shoot it right in on McLeod who put
it away, reach.
Speaker 16 (02:03:28):
Out by Potter, keep it in the zone, and then
Lacy Eden picked it up and threw it on net.
Speaker 8 (02:03:32):
One to nothing. The score.
Speaker 5 (02:03:34):
The goal of the game was in sixteen fifty eight
in the second period. We thought it was Shapo Vallivova.
They've officially credited to Eden around of the far side
and a shot and back of the net of Ohio State.
Good pressure on the part of the Badgers as they
try to hold the zone and at the point it's Wisconsin,
(02:03:55):
but they got to back it out to neutral life
and they dump it back in and they clear the zone.
Wisconsin on the near boards, try to hold it in.
Gorbatanko and Eden on the fore check. They play it
to the boards on the right side and skating back
is Laney Potter for out of the far side. On
the play, they angle it off the boards, Eaton touching it,
(02:04:18):
plait it in over the line Ohio state turned. They
come back into the Wisconsin line. Ava Murphy on the
right side. Play by Murphy, we'll work it up Ice
and dumps it back. Wicks over to pick it up.
That's Lea Wicks or out of the far side.
Speaker 8 (02:04:32):
On the break.
Speaker 5 (02:04:33):
The puck comes through the neutral ice at center ice,
the Badgers Pericard picking it up.
Speaker 8 (02:04:38):
Here's Picard moving.
Speaker 5 (02:04:39):
It in on the wrap around in front Andrew's block
down on the corner on the far side. Play continues
here they center it right out in front nobody home
and it comes all the way back to center ice,
picked up by Jungles on the far side. Per Card
on the check trying to pick it up in the
neutral zone. There's Jungles carries it in over the line
(02:05:02):
on the right side per Card and Scandaled going to
the corner with her to try and control the twelve
thirty four remitting in the period that puck is called
with the stoppage in the.
Speaker 6 (02:05:13):
Corner on the nearboard, frozen on the wall there.
Speaker 16 (02:05:19):
Boy I tell you every shift cuts here man, it
is who wants it the most, and you gotta both
with the buck.
Speaker 8 (02:05:28):
Yeah, you can tell. Both teams are quality clubs.
Speaker 6 (02:05:31):
You got that right, competitive all the way around. Both
squads face.
Speaker 5 (02:05:37):
Off coming up with twelve thirty remitting in the third period,
and it's going to be played back down in the
corner and back. Somebody went down in the corner.
Speaker 8 (02:05:50):
That was Sims. Yep, yes it was yep.
Speaker 6 (02:05:54):
Didn't look like it was very comfortable as she headed
toward the wall in the corner there.
Speaker 8 (02:05:58):
She's always a real competitor.
Speaker 6 (02:06:00):
Yeah, yeah, yes she is.
Speaker 8 (02:06:04):
And Layla is back out on the ice.
Speaker 5 (02:06:10):
Out of the far side, peeking Hoggen was in on
that trying to win that draw for the base off
and coming up ice controlling it out of the far side,
Laney Potter with it, try to play it ahead, Kirsten
Sims taking down and chasing it as Leyley edwards. The
Buckeyes in their own zone on the far boards. They
try to bring it out Ohio State in control. They
(02:06:33):
play it ahead on the pass over the dun done,
moving it in shot block rebound.
Speaker 8 (02:06:39):
Nice say boy, she's turned.
Speaker 5 (02:06:40):
Done away, Yaba adds about four or five times in.
Speaker 6 (02:06:44):
This game, and done is really impressive.
Speaker 16 (02:06:46):
She's about six foot She's really a solid skater man.
Speaker 5 (02:06:53):
No question she should be on the Olympic team, you know,
I agree, and coming up ice controlling it.
Speaker 8 (02:06:58):
Here's Edwards.
Speaker 5 (02:07:00):
Edwards comes in over the line, controlling it and play
just outside the blue line, and it's going to be
dumped out in the corner. Eleven twenty four remitting here
in the period one nothing Wisconsin. We're in the third,
same two teams, two o'clock Central tomorrow that game will
be on one hundred point nine FM. They let him
(02:07:23):
play along the far wall back in the Buckeye zone.
Ohio State turns Badgers with the fore check coming over
Finley trying to help out McCarthy, but they play it
past her stick and back it's blocked by Haley McLeod
around on the far side. Wisconsin over to try and
pick it up in the neutral zone. Good pressure second
(02:07:45):
by Eden on the far boards. It comes to the
right side and the neutral zone Badgers pick it up.
Shapo Vallavova comes in over the line to McCarthy with
a drive shot and a blocker saved there and the
way loose though Ohio State setting get up, Badgers look
to hold it in Eden trying to chase it down,
(02:08:06):
gets up quickly.
Speaker 8 (02:08:09):
And around on the far side.
Speaker 5 (02:08:11):
As Lacey said, to play a lot of it coming
off the boards and how you react to it and
Wisconsin in the neutral zone they lose control of the buck.
Ohio State coming in trying to chase it down behind
the goal of Wisconsin. The Badgers get the Ohio State
with pressure. They'd work it deep in the zone. On
the play played deep down in the zone, Ohio State
(02:08:35):
will maneuver it around the board still with the pressure
on the near side of the Badger's zone. Amos around
on the far side. There's a drive and it comes
back to the point on the near boards there is
Unuker lays it down trying to go to Amos. Amos
along with Dunn out on the ice and trying to
(02:08:57):
control it to play back to the wings and Ohio
State looking to set it up slidely us.
Speaker 6 (02:09:05):
It man in that possession quite a way a long.
Speaker 5 (02:09:08):
Time here and I'm trying to cover it up in
front of the goal and there's a whistle. They're going
to get a Badger potentially.
Speaker 6 (02:09:17):
I think Penusio might get two minutes. I'm not sure.
Speaker 8 (02:09:20):
Here she held one of her players or fell on
top of her.
Speaker 6 (02:09:25):
I'll tell you what. We were in our own end
for too long.
Speaker 5 (02:09:28):
We'll take a break. This is Wisconsin Badger women's hockey.
Speaker 39 (02:09:32):

Speaker 10 (02:10:24):
Someone who will be eliminated.
Speaker 9 (02:10:26):
Pressure is coming down.
Speaker 10 (02:10:28):
Fifth is trainer game.
Speaker 21 (02:10:31):
Watch it on frying video starting January eighth.
Speaker 5 (02:10:37):
Paul Brown back at the home of the Buck Guys
here in Plumbus, Ohio, Wisconsin, lading at one Genophig in
the third period nine to twenty, remainting in the game,
but the critical part of the game could be right here.
The Buck Guys with a power playoff rotunity on and
the champs to tie out on the penalty.
Speaker 8 (02:10:56):
Called the Venusio round over to KK.
Speaker 5 (02:10:59):
Harvey turned in front, shot right in on Ava McNaughton,
and there was Joy Dunn about five feet away and
turn and fired it right at McNaught.
Speaker 16 (02:11:10):
Even won the draw, but Harvey took it, was trying
to clear it and just went right into a crowd
of right in front of the blue paint.
Speaker 8 (02:11:17):
Based off coming up on the far side.
Speaker 5 (02:11:19):
Now back in the zone of Wisconsin, Ohio state with
a power play opportunity, they'll set it up and control it.
Badgers got to get it out of their own zone.
They try to slide it in front. Ava covers it
up and they had a couple of players.
Speaker 8 (02:11:35):
Very near the goal there.
Speaker 5 (02:11:38):
Boy, oh boy, Carmichael was one. Carmichael is still out
of the ice. Done is out of the ice. Roneo
is out of the eyes and Wisconsin will turn and
they'll finally clear it down the zone. After the face
(02:11:58):
off thirty eight remitting in the penalty time shots are
to thirty two twenty three. An Ohio State comes through
center ice and they control it and to play the
Badgers back in their own zone over the try and
pick it up then right along the boards near side,
trying to work it loose for Wisconsin. Buck Eyes control
(02:12:19):
it on the little scrum going on in the corner.
They got a staff meeting going on in the student
body on the wall here, about six people.
Speaker 8 (02:12:27):
They're gonna let them bring it out of there.
Speaker 5 (02:12:30):
Still they're still going for it back down in the
corner and uh, that's a real scramble for the fucking finally. Yeah, yeah,
should have been a delay a game on Ohio.
Speaker 8 (02:12:45):
Here you go.
Speaker 6 (02:12:45):
I like that good call, Paul. I wish you were
wearing a striped shirt today. Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 5 (02:12:53):
Base off coming to the right side. Eight eighteen remitting
here in the third period of play. It's Joey Dunn
in the face off circle. She's already had thirty points
on the ear back to the wing on the near side.
They work it down in the corner, trying to get
it off on the play over to Carmichael. Carmichael tried
(02:13:13):
to work the corner Flnio smart blaze Yep.
Speaker 8 (02:13:17):
Then they'll jump it down till the length of the
ice if you're.
Speaker 6 (02:13:20):
Gonna kill a penalty. Having Jungles in Harvey out there
is a good thing.
Speaker 5 (02:13:25):
They played together for a long long time. They know
what the other person is exactly gonna do. Coming up
through neutral's ice. They come back into the line on
the four jackets Eden. They got Jungles and Harvey and
Eden and the McCarthy out on the penalty kill. Twenty
one seconds remaining on the power play opportunity and the
(02:13:46):
bluck eyes look to set it up and pass it
out of the zone and that's gonna use up some time.
Then coming up to the blue line, Badger's fore checking there.
Speaker 8 (02:13:56):
Look look at it. Nice play by Eden. Eden trying
to control the play to back down in the corner,
but she worked the.
Speaker 5 (02:14:03):
Rest of the time off the penalty man oh Man,
good play by Lacey Eve, you're not kidding.
Speaker 6 (02:14:08):
Equivalent to about three people's worth the work there.
Speaker 5 (02:14:10):
That looked offside. They didn't follow it. And then coming
back in over the line, controlling it down in the corner.
Speaker 8 (02:14:16):
Seven oh five a minute.
Speaker 5 (02:14:19):
You know what would be nice now kick iill off
the power play opportunity and then score a pea. Wouldn't
that be kind of cool?
Speaker 6 (02:14:27):
Yes, it would and uh be a timely lift and.
Speaker 5 (02:14:31):
Coming over to try and control it on the far wall.
Back in the zone of Wisconsin. With six forty five
remitting in the period, Badger's trying to work the wing
to pull it along the boards and out Is Edwards
is out on the icemuck and working along the wing.
Lady Potter is over there, Murphy is over there. Badger's
(02:14:54):
trying to get it off the board. Shape Ovolivova, she's
working for it. The official right there watching the play.
You got five six players, and finally Ohio State moves
it out. They chip it out over the Sims, Sims
leading it up ice over the Layla Edwards coming in
and it's take it off for stick. Good play defensively.
(02:15:15):
Leila got it back over to Sims. Here's Sims on
the moving around from left to right, comes back over
and Harvey drove it and it went off. He stick
down on the corner. Sims back at the point, trying
to hold the zone. Ohio State will turn and they'll
angle it it. Badgers hold it by the blue line,
pick it up here, Sims comes in over the line,
(02:15:37):
off on the play, back over to Sims, moving it
in shot like Harvey is in front. They're trying to
free the puck. They control it in front, Edward Edwards,
back over the jungles, back over to Edwards. Down on
the corner. Wisconsin controls it. Good pressure comes around on
the near side. The Badger's over to try and pick
it up. They play it for the slot, covering up
(02:16:01):
whistle and play is going to stop.
Speaker 16 (02:16:02):
Yeah, oh man, that was a good, good series of
plays there by the Badgers in the offensive end for Shane.
Speaker 6 (02:16:13):
Great effort.
Speaker 5 (02:16:15):
Five minutes and twenty three seconds remaining in the third
period here and the Wisconsin Badgers laid it in.
Speaker 8 (02:16:23):
The game won to nothing. They credited the goal in
the second period to Lacey Eden. So we called it.
I guess right, Yeah, you're right.
Speaker 16 (02:16:33):
That's a mystical champ because it turns out we are
always right, Paul right, yeah, right, good thing. We've got
all the answers, and but we still believe Shaple Vallavoga
scored the goal down on the corner on the right side,
covering it up right.
Speaker 8 (02:16:46):
In front and blinking it.
Speaker 16 (02:16:47):
There was McLeod good idea that passed from the right
corner right into the slot, but McLeod made the same
and covered. We keep this up, you'll make them play
on their own end.
Speaker 2 (02:16:59):
You know.
Speaker 5 (02:17:00):
Here we go thirty two twenty four in shots in
the game Wisconsin with the lead and going back of
it to set it up.
Speaker 8 (02:17:09):
A scandal over the drive right on and that was
kicked out.
Speaker 5 (02:17:13):
Enright tried to hold the zone and the Badgers pick
it up and control it. Lanny Potter comes in over
the line. Lady is bumped along the boards. Nright takes
a look coming over to help out his per card,
but it goes in on Ohio State's goaltender and play
is going to be stopped.
Speaker 6 (02:17:30):
There was some real heavy play there.
Speaker 16 (02:17:31):
Potter got drawn into the play deep into the zone,
which was fine, but Enright noticed that and drops back
and covers on the blue line, because you don't want
to give up an odd man rush if you get
a defenseman in too deep.
Speaker 6 (02:17:45):
Good Head he played by Enright.
Speaker 5 (02:17:47):
Avan Murphy is out Jungles is out Edwards, Cassie Hall
and sim face off coming up. Both teams back at
full strength. We're down to four point fifty three remaining
in the third period by a goal. They move it
right in on the left side and Wisconsin looking to
set it up down in the corner on the left wing.
(02:18:08):
Ohio State turns pressure by Leiley Edwards. They play it
up the boards. The Badgers look to hold it in.
It's taken away and back comes done. Gun comes in
over the line and whistle and play is going to
be stopped.
Speaker 16 (02:18:21):
Somebody's been down in the defensive end, but I for
our Ohio State's defensive zone. Somebody was off And now
they're talking to Sims. I think they're gonna sit Sims
down for two minutes, but I don't know what for Paul,
that was kind of strange.
Speaker 8 (02:18:40):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (02:18:41):
Yeah, so now they got to kill off another power
playoffortuit back back.
Speaker 16 (02:18:45):
On the penalty kill two minutes. Sims will be in
the box. I'm not sure what they're going to call
her for.
Speaker 8 (02:18:51):
We haven't got the signal yet. I don't think.
Speaker 6 (02:18:56):
I didn't miss it, they just haven't announced it. I
believe it was.
Speaker 5 (02:18:59):
Away from the was we were watching the action down
on the other end. This happened all the way back
down to the Ohio yep state zone. The official coming
over and uh.
Speaker 6 (02:19:14):
Mark wants an explanation a little bit. I'm not happy
with the fall. I'm sure.
Speaker 5 (02:19:20):
So on the penalty kill, the Badgers will have to
go to work here. Eden is coming back out on
the ice. Uh let's see who else is going.
Speaker 8 (02:19:30):
To be out.
Speaker 5 (02:19:34):
I think you got Jungles and Harvey yep, Eden and
Edwards yep. They're on the penalty kill Ohio state.
Speaker 6 (02:19:43):
And I never did get what they did.
Speaker 5 (02:19:45):
They they took a buck eye too. Oh they took
a buck guy with There we go. That's my take
that that was what coming over to set it up.
Ronald the farside control to get played back down on
the corner and playing behind the Wisconsin net four on
four plus goaltenders here and the Badgers look to bring
(02:20:08):
it out of the zone, moving it up ice.
Speaker 8 (02:20:10):
Here's a break by Harvey going in all alone. Harvey
shot a KK, Harvey rips.
Speaker 5 (02:20:18):
It into the upper corner of the nat per tenth
doll of the year, and Wisconsin LAIDs it tone and nothing.
Speaker 16 (02:20:26):
Wow, Paul, what a nice wrist shot beats McLeod high
in the corner, up over the blocker side. Just a
beautiful right handed wrister by Harvey right on the money. Oh,
on a pass from Layla Edwards. Oh to make the
store two to nothing. That was huge Paul as Wow,
and Bill Howard was right again. Yeah, that's the next
(02:20:49):
goal is going to be a big water TB.
Speaker 33 (02:20:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:20:55):
Both teams are still shorthanded. Yeah, yeah, for four minutes
remaining in the game.
Speaker 8 (02:21:00):
Now we'll watch.
Speaker 5 (02:21:01):
I wouldn't think the Ohio State will think about pulling
their goaltender here at some point, coming back over to
try and pick it up, and around on the far side.
Speaker 8 (02:21:14):
And back over to.
Speaker 5 (02:21:15):
Set it up, and there's a drive. The PA announcer said,
power play goal.
Speaker 6 (02:21:21):
Yeah, well that's the same. Yeah, go figure, Paul.
Speaker 8 (02:21:26):
Uh this island.
Speaker 5 (02:21:28):
Yeah, around on the far side over to try and
control it, and it's gonna be whipped in on Ava mcnaughtland.
Speaker 6 (02:21:34):
I cover it up and the region makes to say, yeah,
part you have a power play when it's four on four,
that's a new one.
Speaker 5 (02:21:44):
That's if it's called in the third period less than
five minutes for.
Speaker 6 (02:21:51):
Me, yeah, it's just a yea. Oh my goodness, gracious.
Speaker 5 (02:21:55):
Face off coming up to the left side. Oh, saying
back over and done in the face off circle. The
Wisconsin Badgers trying.
Speaker 6 (02:22:05):
To pick it up in out of his own good.
Speaker 5 (02:22:07):
Yep, and it's going to be played back down in
the corner the ice and coming back over. We're down
to forty five seconds or winning and coming up ice
controlling it and in the neutral zone it's going to
be dumped back down in the corner. Three oh nine
remaining here. Wisconsin firing it around the board. Great hustle
by Jungles and coming up ice controlling it. Comes in
(02:22:29):
over the line and moving it in per card right
there was en Right trying to get the tech. Great
idea and the Badgers drive it back down in the corner.
Speaker 6 (02:22:39):
Jungles is huge, man, this kind of a game.
Speaker 8 (02:22:42):
Oh, and coming back over to pick it up and control.
Speaker 5 (02:22:46):
Two forty five Remedican regulation time intercepted by Leila Edwards.
Layla comes in over the line. Tried to go to
the back end but that didn't work and coming back.
Ohio State comes in over the line down on the
corn on the far side. Now we're back at full
strength with two twenty seven remenning in the game. It's
five on five plus goaltenders at this point. Yeah, and
(02:23:10):
coming back over. I would think it'd be coming pretty
quick here controlling it. There's Laylah with it, sliding it
out towards center ice over to Potter laid back down
on the corner. Badger's with pressure, Sims over to try
and pick it up. After spending a couple of minutes
in the sin been there yea, and Wisconsin controlling get
along the boards on the near side, back over to
(02:23:33):
control one point fifty seven remenning as Ohio State in
their own zone.
Speaker 8 (02:23:38):
Nice pressure on the part of Wisconsin.
Speaker 5 (02:23:41):
Eaton is just all over the Gays and it comes
back over to Harvey quickly trips to the head, back
over to Sims. Sims on the break, Badgers look to
try and pick it up as uh whoa and down
goes Harvey. But she's up and okay, and back comes
Ohio State one thirty one remenning, and they have pulled
(02:24:03):
their goaltender, so they get the extra attacker out and
around on the far side over the try and control it.
With one twenty two remitting here the net is empty
at the other end. Then Shacko with it flips it
up the boards on the far side. Done, will knock
it down one twelve remnting and Amos right there at
(02:24:24):
the blue line and I'll try to pick it up.
Gorbatanka was there to try and help out Murphy to
get it out and going over to pick it up.
Yeah again around of the far side. It's going to
be held in by Ohio State. Fifty four seconds a minting.
The Buckeyes hold the zone. Torontal of the far side,
played back down to the corner. Forty eight seconds remitting.
(02:24:45):
It's two to nothing Wisconsin, and the play along the
boards near side back to the point and they'll move
it in with a drive in traffic in front, and it's.
Speaker 2 (02:24:55):
Going to beat on a goal.
Speaker 5 (02:24:57):
They score a goal with thirty six it's remaining in
regulation time with.
Speaker 8 (02:25:03):
The extra attacker.
Speaker 6 (02:25:05):
Son of a gun.
Speaker 16 (02:25:06):
It was a great block by Eden in the original
shop and then they worked its way down by the network.
Speaker 5 (02:25:12):
As the goal on the rebound with thirty six seconds
remaining in the game.
Speaker 8 (02:25:17):
Let's see if they leaves a net empty or what
they're going to do here.
Speaker 6 (02:25:21):
I'm guessing they'll it's hard. She's on the ice right now, Paul.
They might face off with her and net about you
know about out bar and then pull it. If they
get possession, we'll see. We might have a timeout too, and.
Speaker 8 (02:25:36):
We'll take a break.
Speaker 5 (02:25:37):
If Brandon is back there and got a commercial to play,
we'll be back after this thirty second time out. Are
you in need of some rehabilitation to get you back
on your feet after a fall or surgery?

Speaker 6 (02:26:16):
Unor did they.
Speaker 5 (02:26:19):
And we're back here thirty six seconds remaining in regulation time.
Speaker 8 (02:26:26):
Amos got the goal for the Buckeyes of Ohio State.
Speaker 5 (02:26:31):
They had an extra attacker on Svenson got one assists
and we're at two to one with the net is
empty for Ohio State. Pull the goaltender with thirty six
seconds remnting face off coming at center right, coming up,
(02:26:51):
Who's gonna.
Speaker 8 (02:26:52):
Win the drawing? Where's it going?
Speaker 5 (02:26:53):
The Badgers get the drum, wins is at Harvey. Harvey
flips it high in the air, back down to the corner.
Ohio state back quickly twenty eight seconds remitting. The Buckeyes
come to the Badger line and they'll try.
Speaker 8 (02:27:07):
To move it in.
Speaker 5 (02:27:07):
Went in behind the net. Down to twenty seconds remedica.
The Badgers dump it all the way back down the ice,
chasing it a shapo vollo vova and coming over to
try and pick it up and try to beat the
icing call.
Speaker 16 (02:27:20):
Thirteen seconds with an ice. But I don't blame Edwards
for sending it long. You know what, you know, that's
a smart play length of the ring.
Speaker 5 (02:27:29):
Boy Shappo hustled after trying to get there first. Yeah,
thirteen seconds remnting in the regulation time.
Speaker 8 (02:27:38):
It's a two to one game.
Speaker 5 (02:27:39):
Wisconsin out in front and the Badgers amos back in
the face off circle ready for it to come up
to the right side of Ava McNaughton, and the puck
came loose, Wisconsin trying to get control. Eight seconds remedica
regulation time shot block the fuck Aba McNaughton, and she
(02:28:00):
made to say man with four point four seconds for
manning in regulation time, done in front of the nat
with Leila Edwards.
Speaker 6 (02:28:11):
Great save on a blast point with people in front,
no rebound, that was huge.
Speaker 5 (02:28:16):
Is there any question Number one and number two are
playing in this game?
Speaker 9 (02:28:21):
Wow?
Speaker 5 (02:28:22):
Amos will try to win the face off. They got
it one more opportunity. The Badgers pick it.
Speaker 8 (02:28:28):
And Harvey clears it down the ice and the Badgers
win the game.
Speaker 6 (02:28:34):
What an exciting finish, pall unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (02:28:38):
They win the draw and they get to win two
to one over the Buckeyes of Ohio State.
Speaker 8 (02:28:44):
I gotta tell you your thoughts on this whole game here.
Speaker 16 (02:28:47):
Well, you know what, these two teams are about as
evenly matched if you can get you know, and we're
in their barn. Great strategy by them to pull a goalie.
It paid off for one goal, but it didn't pay
off for two. So we'll go away with the victory
two one tonight, all right, and hopefully that will happen
uh tomorrow, Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 8 (02:29:05):
Thanks.
Speaker 6 (02:29:05):
