because it is Wisconsin.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Star sorry.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Hard, six straight wins against nationally ranked opponents.

Speaker 4 (00:15):
Yes, we want to hang banners in this building here.

Speaker 5 (00:21):
On Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Now.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Here's the voice of Badger Hockey, Brian Pussick.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Along with Paul cavobianco at Rio Sterna, and ann Arburg.
Michigan the second oldest college hockey rank in the country. Yeah,
they've got the chill hundred of yost to cross the way.
Paul and I are way upstairs here in this old building,
very much like the UW Field House. We're about hashmarks
extended in the Wisconsin defensive zone. The Michigan net is, oh,

(01:13):
a good three hundred feet to our left if you
use angles and that type of thing. Well, we're more
like one hundred and fifty feet away. If we were
down on the ice. Nevertheless, Badgers, we'll be attacking the
goal to our left. Michigan will be skating left to right.
The referees tonight, Barry Pakmara and Nicholas Bett, the linesman,
Nick Huff and Justin Cornell. The opening face off brought

(01:36):
to you by Odyssey Greek Yogurt. Start your day with thick,
creamy and all natural Greek yogurt with real flavorful fruit
Odyssey Greek Yogurt. Yeah. The children of Yosts surround the
Wisconsin bench at least half of it, and they can
really look kind of be a pain if you will.
They're very loud and very into their hockey. Here in
ann Arbor. We're underway at Yost Arena. Michigan collects the

(01:59):
puck teat Hughes took Draper feeding low right in tight
and Hallim had a chance and Scarfoni closed the door
on near side post. Hallim could really scoot. He's on
his backhand offended by Fitzgerald, whacked the puck off his stick.
It's back behind the net, Draper tied up by Shoals.
Draper comes out of there with it still try to
protect with shoals, very physical with a right winger for

(02:20):
Michigan out of the point. Now edwards he's defended. Two
Badgers collide with the wolverine of the buck bounces out
near the Michigan blue line and gathered in by Hallim,
who turns and dumps it in. Forty seconds into the
opening period, no score. Michigan with a lot of offensive
zone time here to start.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Out, you know, after last weekend and not scoring a goal.
That's a huge focus for them to start this game.
So it's going to be an interesting first five minutes
to the Badgers to try to survive here on the road.

Speaker 7 (02:45):
The team that really wants to score a goal.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Kevin Morrissey with a steal behind the nets in the
offensive zone left wing. Now Finley puck hops over his stick.
He throws it out to the point, launch a long
ring shot, standing up to stop at the goltender Logan
Stein down the left wing wall, molding out, had it
taken away by Luca van Tilly. The left handed defenseman
scoops up on goals Scarfoni stops it with a paddle
of his stick and covers a minute sixteen in. Yeah,

(03:09):
As Paul mentioned again, Michigan was shut out twice last
week at Mariucci, the first time they had been shut
out in a two game series by the same team
since Minnesota did it in nineteen forty three behind a
goaltender by the name of Mark Thayer, who stopped all
eighty shots he faced against the Maze and Blue. It's
amazing because Michigan scored only three goals in its last

(03:30):
four games after potting sixteen in a two game sweep
of Penn State three weeks ago.

Speaker 7 (03:36):
He's them all up. Western Michigan is a good defensive team.

Speaker 6 (03:40):
After former Badger goaltender Cavin Roe there that has done
a pretty good job.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Yeah. He and Scarfoni the winning his active goaltenders in
NCAA hockey Badgers win an all defensive zone face off.
They're exit though intercepted at center ice, taken by the
Loiverreens and given right back Lynn Mark left wing Mellenbacher.
He shovels a shot that goes wide glove side on
stein Horbach took a pretty good hit from earnesty Josh Ernesty,

(04:04):
a big right winger for Michigan. Badger's able to play
it down deep in the zone. Mellenbacher double team that
swept around to the far side. Freshman Jack Dalen takes
a hit, got the puck to the point Lindmark shot
went off a stick and then scooped out to center
ice by the Wolverines. Ernesty throwing his body around bump
Lindmark away from the biscuit. Mellenbacher after it. He's able

(04:24):
to retrieve and dump it in. Badger's changed two minutes
in scoreless first period. Here in ann Arbor Ssconsin sends
out it's fourth line Sawyer Schule centering, Tyson Dick and
Adam Piedla. Marcus stopped a fourth line center for Michigan
takes a bump from Schole. Schul tries to one hand
it into the offensive zone, taken back by Edwards, angled

(04:46):
pass ahead, now intended for fourth liner Tanner Road too far,
icing called on Michigan offensive zone face off coming up
for the Badgers. Seventeen thirty six left here in the
opening period that.

Speaker 7 (04:59):
Badger's getting rolling right through.

Speaker 6 (05:00):
Here their first UH four lines get a chance. Evering
again in that game again, just trying to settle in
here mentioned Michigan pushing, pushing the pacer, trying to been
pretty physically here in the first couple of minutes too.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Morrissey, Moseley Finley out for Wisconsin against Marcus Stoppa, Tanner
Rowe and Thomas Dascas a Miami of Ohio transfer face
off to the right of Stein, won by the Badgers.
Finley out high right, shoals with a rocket missed and
that it slides towards the left of the goaltender Stein.
He paddles it to the corner. Morrissey after it there
slides just out of the reach of Quinn Finley, but

(05:38):
Morrissey's got it in the corner. He's pinned by Edwards. There.
Finley using his body Shuals came down the wall, couldn't
play the puck taken away by Michigan's Thomas Dascus. He'll
dump and chase and he carries dex Sheimer into the
end boards. Dex Seimer moved it to the corner and Moseley,
who'd coughed it up right wing. Now it's hallent back
out to Hughes straightaway at Edwards, his shot blocked by

(05:58):
dex Shimer, who's farce circle reaching for it. Moseley can't
pick it up cleanly, but Morrisey's got it in the
Badger's little time in space here shoals Headman's to Finley
across the line with Moseley two on four. Finley then
wiped out by Hallam and Michigan with a puck. They
nudget ahead to center ice and back pedaling. Was Henzler
to pick it up at the red line as Kyle

(06:19):
Kuchen and he dumps in and Hallim hammers him and
then has some words for him too. Jackson Hallum playing
with a little extra emotion. I would say here tonight again.
His season ended a year ago at the Coles Center
in Madison on a hit to the knee, underwent season
ending surgery. He's off to a pretty good start this season.
Is Hallen with five goals in eight points and sixteen games.

(06:41):
Steele in the offensive zone for Michigan. TJ. Hughes has
the puck, skates it out near the blue line, got
tied up by a lodge there for supporters. Fitzgerald give
and go with Liskowski middle of the ice. Fitzgerald white
wing past kuchanin He'll tap it to the corner. Still
no score. Four minutes in two one shots on goal
in favor of Michigan, and both were relatively harmless. Loo's

(07:02):
puck in the high slot of the Michigan zone. Wolverinees
now possessed.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
I'm sorry, it's going to go back to that play
along the boards with lots of really good job on
TJ Hughes, containing them, putting them pen him against the
boards and the Badgers.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Oh. Nick Moldenhauer, hard rush left wing through two Badgers,
snapped off a shot and it was stopped by Scarfoni,
who gave up no rebound. Nick Moldenhauer a Toronto Maple
Leafs third round draft show at choice, only one goal
so far this season, but had a pretty good look there.

Speaker 6 (07:31):
Yeah, good first test first Tommy Scarfoni, pretty good risks
shot from inside the dots, scoring opportunity, steering chancey held.

Speaker 7 (07:41):
On the puck, no rebound.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Next job Badger's win the defensive zone face off Wisconsin
at fifty five percent in the face off circles. That's
best in the Big Ten. Long lead feed for care
angling left too far, icing cold on Wisconsin. Another off
defensive zone face off coming up in the badge in
They're fifteen thirty three left here in the opening period.

Speaker 6 (08:03):
Anthony Carra at the end of that last play ended
up in the corner kind of off balance and looked
like it maybe.

Speaker 7 (08:09):
Carried her to that last I try to put up
the isis a little out of the reach of Owen Mellenbacher.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Michael Hage, first round pick of Montreal, wins the face
off against no end Lynn Mark. Here's Dylan Duke, the
left handed defenseman pushed one right through the blue paint.
He came down the right wing side. That's Tyler Duke.
His brother. Dylan was a high scoring winger here at Michigan,
now in the pros, and now is shot by Tyler Duke.
Block taken away by Wisconsin Lynn Marcott. Knockdown, tap back

(08:35):
to care Mellenbacker can't get it deep. Here's Age now
with it. Right handed centerman good size six from Mississauga, Ontario,
played for the Chicago Steal a year ago. They're very
high on age as they should be passed to the slot.
Intercepted by schol couldn't clear. Taken back by their captain,
Jacob Truscott. Left handed defenseman looks backside right and the

(08:56):
pass tied up the defenseman freshman Will Folice. He pushed
it back to the far side Turcotte Truscot. Dad is
out to the point they go. Here's William Whitelaw, former Badger,
snapped a shot off, blocked by the Badgers, and then
white Law knocked Shoal down. Here's white Law sticking his
shoulder into Falen try to jam the puck free for

(09:17):
his teammate Christian Humphreys, who had it. Lost it at center,
sent back Wisconsin's way. The Badgers. We'll get some time
here as Michigan in the process of a change. Still scoreless,
fourteen twenty to go. Here in the opening period, William Whitelaw,
former Badger, four goals eight points in fifteen games for
the former third round draft choice of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

(09:37):
Here's Quinn Finley now through the center circle. Pitched it
to the left wing, hoping Moseley can get there. Instead,
it's moved along by Rayaum Mullen, gathered in now by Dascus,
tied up by Finley, who's able to jam it back deep.
There's Rayo Mullen reversing now to Edwards and on the
fore check Finley. Edward spins away from him and put

(09:58):
the puck on goal, and Stein had keep it out.

Speaker 6 (10:01):
Was the toughest safer stein so far tonight. That was
a dangerous place to do a little spin and lose control.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Youth and Edwards, who scored eleven goals in his career,
and he almost put one in his own nets. Here's
deck Sheimer now up the left wing wall, bangs a
d for Mosley, got caught up in his skates. Badgers
retouch and now Morrissey's got it. Little backhand flip pass
for himself got tripped up by a stoppa come across
the line. Badgers will get a cutest power play as

(10:27):
Marcus stop against the gate at six thirty eight of
the opening period.

Speaker 6 (10:32):
Badgers haven't had much possession of the puck, but here
a Stopa just gets a stick in a bad place
along the sideboards. Marcy just seizes some speed up the ice,
tries to get it in and gets gets taken out
the legs.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
So Wisconsin's power play better than twenty nine percent in
Big Ten play at eight for twenty seven, went two
for four last weekend against Michigan State. We'll get two
minutes on the ice, Lynn Mark, Fitzgerald, Kuchan In Dick
and Hensler the second power play unit Badgers win the
face off, Dick of the blue line right side kuchen
In at the wall. It's Fitzgerald spins away from draper

(11:10):
Ran into trouble, bouncing out to the blue line, held
in by Dick. Good catch by Hensler straight away. He
peels away from pressure out high left and sweeps it
to the corner. Badger's on a power play seven minutes in.
Michigan tries to clear bat it down by Hensler, but
it crawled across the line. Badgers need to touch up.
There's Tyson Dick now to Lynn Mark. He fires it

(11:31):
in around to the right corner. Ben deck Sheimer's out
on the ice now for Wisconsin, replacing Hensler. Michigan tried
to clear puck went off Wolverine at their bench, an
offensive zone face off for Wisconsin. I'm in a twenty
four to go with the power play, twelve forty six
remaining in this scorelos first period.

Speaker 7 (11:47):
And one thing for Michigan.

Speaker 6 (11:48):
You got to keep an eye on number seventeen on
this penalty kill. Garrett Schifsky's got three this year, two
in one game.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (11:54):
So not that you're thinking defense on the power play,
but just maybe being aware of look what his attitude
is and trying to get up the ice and the
pucks get turned over.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Shifsky from andover Minnesota form her high school teammates with
Wisconsin freshman defenseman Weston Knox. Yeah, Shipsky scored two short
handed goals against Arizona State earlier this season. He was
minus four on Friday night at Minnesota. That's a rough
night man. Shifsky won the face off and they cleared
it all the way down. So the power play in

(12:25):
it is Dexzheimer with Morrissey, Finley Leskowski and Moseley. Morrissey
with speed across the line right wing Leskowski, he'll rim
it around to the left corner. Finley there wanted to
let it go to dex Sheimer, but some contact with
a puckin Michigan picks it up and sends it down.
Wolverine's eighty four percent on the penalty kill, seventy eight
percent in league play. Give up one power play in

(12:46):
nine tries against Minnesota last weekend at Mariucci lead feed
for Leskowski off his skate, can't reach it, played again
by Draper and all the way down. So far, no
good on this power play for Wisconsin and now mostly
throws one right in front of his own net, and
Finley goes to pick up the puck, skates pass Draper
right through them the big m and the Yost Arena ice.

(13:08):
The Badgers moved along to the far side, slowed a
bit by the defenseman Hunter Haiti of freshmen from Rochester, Minnesota.
Now Hensler zips a pass right wing to Finley, tried
to sauce back to Hensler went off the stick of Draper.
Haiti had it running to by kuock it and he
frees the puck for Hensler. Ten seconds left on the
power play. Here's Fitzgerald now goal line right. Daniel Lotch

(13:30):
out on the ice right now the Badger's defensive pair
with Hensler turn around shot Fitzgerald, cook it in, deflex
it in a power play goal. Wisconsin Leeds won nothing.

Speaker 6 (13:41):
Pretty Bay saying Wisconsin did out pretty much nothing on
this power play until this last ship. Kind of had
a mishmash of people out there for a power play.
Daniel Latch off the bench, great job at the point
for Wisconsin, keeping the puck possession and then just a
throw on the net, cook it in the right spot,
tips it past the goaltender and the Badgers get the
lead here.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Pyle Kuchan in his first power play goal is fifth
goal of the season. It comes at eight thirty five,
and the Badgers on the board first here at Yost Arena.
If Fitzgerald the primary assist on that power play goal
for Wisconsin and now Michigan is just ice the puck.

Speaker 6 (14:23):
So that's one way to kind of push back on
the start that Michigan's had here. They've been very aggressive,
taking a lot of time in space away from Wisconsin.
It's been really hard to get the pucks or key
possession of the puck. There's a someone in their face
the whole time. But you get one here and see
what happens if it kind of settles it down.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Just second shot on goal for Wisconsin. It's a redirect
by Kuchen and give Logan Henzler the secondary assist on
that power play goal. Badgers now seven for seventeen over
the last seven games on the man advantage. Michigan applying
pressure in the Wisconsin zone right in front of us.
Ernesty was tied up. Care after the puck, Gurnesty ties

(15:01):
him up, Anthony tries to whack it back to the corner,
getting support from Dick and Shoal. Tyson comes out of
there with it tied up by Hallim, slides it back
to the blue line. Lotch cuts off Hughes. Dick now
impeded by Hallim, but scooped it ahead to Shul who
dumps it in and the Badger's change one nothing. Wisconsin.
Kyle Kuchenen scores his fifth goal of the ear Badgers

(15:23):
hold his own Mellenbacker wheels back left wing down the wall.
He skates out to the point. Shoals His shot missed
the net off the end board's far side. Hustled after it.
It's Lynn Mark right wing. Nice pass shot by Horboch
pushed it wide. Here's Shoals now at the blue line.
Maintains the zone. Now Lynn Mark. He cuts down off
of Hughes left goal line around behind the net. Tried

(15:45):
to backhanded around, but it slid off the toe of
his stick. With the Badger's deck, Seimer able to hold
chase it down left wing, out high Shoals with a
one timer. Stein didn't see it till it was by him,
but well wide now Mellenbacher tried to pull it free
off the left twing Michigan having problems clearing Shipski will
he can really move. He cuts right slot shot blocked

(16:06):
by dex Sheimer and then met shoulder to shoulder by
dex Sheimer. But Michigan after the puck out to the point,
it's Tyler Duke works in the slots, shot block bylin Mark.
Duke's got it again to the left back door. Hage
was there. It hit something maybe Mellenbacher. No Hage snuck
behind the Badger defense and Mellenbacker got in the way.
I believe.

Speaker 7 (16:25):
I think it might have found its way all the
way to the goaltender.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
Now the puck slides all the way back to the
Wolverine zone. Michigan after it, Badgers will change one nothing
Wisconsin a power play goal from Kyle Kuchenan. Michigan almost
tied it up a moment ago. Here's white Law back
pedaling into the offensive zone, takes a hit from care
released a pass to the point Rayo Mullen. Now it's
two kiss shot didn't get to the net, taken away
by Wisconsin. Four on two to our left, it's Morrissey

(16:50):
right wing. Moseley cut slot back Morrissey back. Moseley can't
shoot good back check by Hage to lift the stick
of Moseley. Push to ahead. Now here's white Law one
on one against Kerr. White Laws load lost the puck
in Estates double teamed and squashed by the Batger's near side.
Finley's got it center ized pass to Moseley backside. He
tries to poke it deep into the Michigan zone. Gets
the job done. Eight fifty to go on the first

(17:12):
one nothing Wisconsin. Here's Dascus how big, right handed forward
and he'll scoop it into the Wisconsin zone to our
right stop by Scarfoni returns it where it came from.
Now Tanner Roe from Caliumet Michigan, former Omaha Lancer. He
was engaged by Moseley. Wisconsin wins possession. Liskowsky pass at

(17:33):
center taken by a lotch down the left wing. He
comes Diggs, can't get the shut off. Oh he dieked
out Stein who was leaning right. But Daniel at the
last moment at his stick lifted or deflected and couldn't
get the puck on that. Now Fitzgerald with a steal,
he protects the buck. Liskowsky back left wing, kucon and
Wisconsin shoals just fell over the center circle. All Oh
by his lonesome, and now deck Sheimer's got.

Speaker 7 (17:55):
It allergic to the m as the Michigan native.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Most of us are. Here's liscosk now to the corner.
He goes. Kuchanan remains out there long shift for those
two young men. Sawyer's shoal on the ice. Now as
stop has got the puck, seven fifty to go on
the first one nothing Wisconsin the stop it dumps it in.
Shoals ducked under the hit of a stoppa move the
puck to decks Himer, who found Kuka in and muscled

(18:19):
it out to center thankfully, and then whacked back in
by Michigan. You've had what two or three stoppages so
far in this opening period. One nothing Wisconsin Badger's dump
it in towards the cage. It bounces to the left
of Logan Stein and after at the Wolverines edwards one
hands it out to center, taken there by Jack Falan,
the Detroit Red Wings fifth round draft pick a couple

(18:41):
of years ago. Now Tyson dick In on the ford check.
Luke Buss, the freshman seeing his first action here tonight,
Bus playing in only his fourth game Buck slides back
into the Wisconsin zone. Care will beat Allum to it.
Little head and shoulder fake gives him some space. Banks
it ahead left wingle in Mark drop past the US redline.
He scooped it ahead and now to Lindmark. But he

(19:03):
was offside six fifty nine to go here in the
opening period Wisconsin with a one nothing lead. Tonight's game

six point fifty nine left of the first Kyle Kuchenan

(20:50):
redirects a shot by Christian Fitzgerald, a powerplay goal for
kucon in his fifth of the year. At eight thirty five.
Paul I mean, haven't many many stoppages at all. This
first period's flying by, but really not too much action.

Speaker 7 (21:03):
I mean, it feels like there's a lot going on.

Speaker 6 (21:04):
If we're talking, there's only six shots so far fourteen
or so minutes in only one or two for Wisconsin.
But we're looking at the score sheet, eight box shots
through Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
In this game, Hensler right wing shoots one on his knees.
Stine able to dobble that up with his mid section
and a face off to come. He on the Michigan zone.
That assists with Hensler. That's his seventh for the freshman
who in a couple of days will be heading just
to Tad, I think northeast of here to Plymouth, Michigan
to take part in the USA Hockey's camp prior to

(21:39):
the World Junior Championship which starts December twenty sixth in Ottawa.
He's got a chance to make that US squad.

Speaker 6 (21:45):
Yeah, we got to cut down a few people, but yeah, it's.

Speaker 7 (21:49):
Been a good streak, a good run of Badgers.

Speaker 6 (21:51):
Last year, quin Finley went in the goal with Team USA.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
Bucket center Ice Lodge cuts off the progress of Draper.
Hensler takes the puck plays into the far wall but
not out held in by Edwards. He's forced to move
it quickly around to the right wing corner. Fantilly tied
up by Moseley in front of the Wisconsin net. Hallim
loose puck Edwards over skates. He had a lane to
the cage but muffed the buck and now Dan, you'll

(22:16):
lotch with it. Steps off the pass behind Moseley all
the way down and icing will be waved off as
Finley coasts into the Michigan zone and beat two Wolverines
down the ice, and now a turnover. Morrissey's got it.
He's forced to move it quickly too, but his pass
was blocked Kuchenan trying to pick up the loose change.
Findley's got it. Morrissey his shot blocked by Edwards and

(22:36):
that stung Finley. Now goal line left, shoots one off
the head of the goldtender Stein taken by Michigan out
to center. It comes and the Badgers take it there
and dump it right back in.

Speaker 6 (22:46):
Yeah, that shot by Finley and bounced off directly into
the slot. No badger's there because they're kind of working
trying to get possession along the side but keep an
eye on on.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
That age to mold an hour far side. Shifsky his
shot block got it back, look out where it's loose
in traffic. Laskowsky on his knees, never got to the nets.
Here's Moldenauer again. The right hander shoots one leaning left gloving.
It was Scarfoni and he hangs on. Just the fifth
save of the night for Tommy Scarfoni. He won nothing Wisconsin.
Late first period we.

Speaker 7 (23:15):
Talked about all these block shots.

Speaker 6 (23:17):
That one a block and ends up right back on
the stick of Shifsky, who looked like he had some danger.

Speaker 7 (23:23):
But then again a Badger comes straight through.

Speaker 6 (23:25):
I think it was Laskowsky down on his knees to
make sure he couldn't get that second shot off.

Speaker 7 (23:29):
It's tough with goaltender reacted to the first one.

Speaker 6 (23:32):
You're down looking for the save and in a quick
rebound you're not in position to make that second one.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
Kuskowsky with a splinting block shot on his knees. Eleven
blocks in this opening period for the Badgers. Here's horboch
Headman's to Lynn Mark. Loose puck picked up by Tyson
dick Off the left wall, tried to feed care left
wing that was deflected. Lind Mark's got it. Now raises
a shot that hit his teammate Hornbock in the side
of the head and then just trickled through the crease.

(23:58):
Horbock reaching up is right ear to see if he's bleeding.
He may be. Andy Rode, the Badger's trainer will take
a look at him as he heads to the Badger bedge.
And now a harmless shot towards Scarfoni who just covers
the puck and a face off in the Wisconsin zone.
Four fifty five to go in the first one nothing Badgers.

Speaker 6 (24:16):
I would have heard a bit lesser Jack Horbach if
it would bounced into the net, but he didn't lose
a stick behind the net.

Speaker 7 (24:21):
Ref's coming here to pick it up. Yeah, like you mentioned,
holding his.

Speaker 6 (24:25):
Side of his head is ear and that's kind of
the one spot on your helmet. There's now a lot
of protection there in that here area.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Schol Mellenbacher and Piedla out for the cardinal and White
launch and Henzler defensively. Here's Christian Humphreys National Team Development
Program products with White law and Earnesty Piela protecting back
pedaling his way out of his zone and then wax
it to center and taken there by Michigan's duke to

(24:54):
Edwards rink wide right wing the Humphreys. He forgot to
take the buck with him across the line and Regathers
dumps it in, but the Badgers take it from there.
Pencler a man's now for Pienola to flex to Meleenbacher
protecting in traffic. Still loose now and good work by
shul to poke it away from white Law, but the
Wolverines get it back. Humphrey's misfired on a pass to Whitelaw.

(25:17):
Here is Dexzheimer now fought through a hook and the
Badgers shovel it in and get a change. Four twelve
remaining in the opening period. Here at Yost Arena and
Ann Arbor, it's one nothing Wisconsin. On Kyle Kuchenan's power
play goal about halfway through Flan with it took a
hit from Dasks, bumped it off the care turnover shop
by a row. His stick snapped in half, fortunately for Wisconsin,

(25:40):
because Roe was wide open near the left dots. Finley
steals out near the blue line. Three on three to
our left, Finley wide right trying to get around Hallam,
escape move right wing, fell down. Hallam took the buck.
We'll stop it now with it right on him was
Daniel Lodge and stop ahead. Nowhere to go, so he
backpedaled into his own zone. The Wolverines dumping in the

(26:01):
Badgers with plenty of time and space with a puck.
Morrissey leaves it off Lotch right back to Morrissey. Lead
feed from Moseley, intercepted by Edwards right wing open Hallum
on him, watch down low, here's a chance Edwards and
the back hand he lifted too high. Oh, Edwards just
kept coming on that pass Paul and went right to
the net.

Speaker 7 (26:21):
Yeah, and gravin.

Speaker 6 (26:21):
Marcy trying to get back into the zone, got hit
from behind there at the high in the zone to
kind of open up the ice for that whole play
to develop.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
Now, Hallum sauces it deep into the Wisconsin zone, launched
there for checking Draper. Lotch snaps off of pass up
the middle of the ice. Morrissey couldn't handle it. Hughes
straight away left wing, pass Edwards again puts it in
front off the skate of Draper. Ricochet to Moseley. He
puts it ahead now for Leskowsky and did he gain
the red line? Apparently they say yes, no icing, but

(26:50):
Michigan first to the puck to forty to go in
the first one nothing Wisconsin with speed Luca fan tilly,
the younger brother of Adam fan' tilly, former Hobe Baker
Award winner. Here just a couple of years ago, Shipsky
steel Man opened wide open right in front of the net.
Oh Starfhoni his stones bolden Hour came preus one time
blast by Duke way high. Fitzgerald now put it back

(27:14):
around to the far side in deck Teimer Shipsky immediately
on him. Dexi falls down, shoals with it. Now he
coughs it up. Here's a blast by a Hage that
was blocked by Wisconsin. Schulz again tries to exit the zone.
His second attempt, he accidentally iced it two five to
go here to four in the opening period one nothing Wisconsin.
Scarfoni with a big save on Nick Moldenour.

Speaker 6 (27:37):
Oh, huge opportunity for Michigan coming off the wall.

Speaker 7 (27:40):
They had a player in front of the net.

Speaker 6 (27:42):
Scarfoni there probably two three feet in front of him
was where the shot got taken, So angle was tough
for the shooter, but he.

Speaker 7 (27:48):
Was right in place.

Speaker 6 (27:49):
Definitely the biggest stretch there for Michigan today here just
kind of running around, had the Badgers kind of all
over the place, but accidental icing, but the Badgers would
take that to just get the stop and reset and
kind of regroup here in that little stretch.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
Hage whitelaw and earnesty out for Michigan. Wisconsin wins the
face off. Good job by Christian Fitzgerald kuchenin right wing
by the benches. He'll fire one off the chest of
the goaltender Stein who leaves it off. Now for the
defenseman Rayome Mullen left hander Headman's to Truscott's and his
pass for Hage on goal actually went all the way

(28:24):
through and down and Scarfhoni stopped it and hung on.
Boy Nick Moldenhauer had a chance mississaugua Ontario native, his
former youth coach, former Badger Pat Flatley. Bolnauer, a third
round draft choice of Toronto a couple of years ago,
was third in the USHL in points two seasons ago
with seventy five and fifty five games. Good freshman year

(28:45):
in the time point blank and Scarfoni stoned him to
keep you a one nothing Wisconsin lead. Shot on the
left wing by Whitelaw off the state taken by Dick Tyson.
Then mishandled lost it care after it. Whitelaw me it's
him with a shoulder checked. Whitelaw went down care had
the puck. White Law now takes it back pass to
the near side wing. No one home for Michigan. Edwards though,

(29:08):
picks it up, skates to the slot, tick on him
is shot blocked, Still lose slot, shot again, this time
by a stoppa missed the target. So the Badger's blocking
a lot of shots, and Michigan has missed the net
a number of times here in the opening period. We'll
get numbers during the first inter.

Speaker 7 (29:24):
Mission, and they found their way.

Speaker 6 (29:26):
Edwards is used his body to protect himself to get
to the slot for the first attenth and then again
another one right there.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
Again, Badger's got to stop coughing up the bucks. And
now though Michigan ice the puck, they needed a change.
Fifty eight and a half seconds to go here in
the opening period, won nothing Wisconsin with a lead. American
Family Insurance is the official insurance partner of UW Athletics
vis at amfam dot com slash Badgers all season long
for exclusive content, Badger fan sweepstakes and more. They're going

(29:54):
to drop it at center ice. I said, icing on Michigan,
but must have been some sort of mistake made either
by me or the referees, So they'll just have a
centerized face off Morrissey to take the draw against. TJ. Hughes.
I mentioned one of the un heralded players in the

(30:14):
Big Ten in my opinion, I mean, thirty seven goals,
ninety six points in ninety six games. He had four
goals in that ten to six win over Penn State
earlier this season. I think I said he had a
hat trick in a game. Well, he did, but he
added one more. He's a two time Honorable mention All Conference. TJ. Hughes,
who surprisingly undrafted out of Hamilton, Ontario, I think.

Speaker 6 (30:37):
He's one of those guys convict him a little bit
of the talent level that Michigan has had over the
last few years. For sure, he's been in I mean,
I don't want to call him a depth player because
he's so good, but with the names they've had, he's
kind of gotten lost in the shuffle a little bit.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Padrews had the puck and we're exiting their zone in
Morrissey try to stretch pass if you will along the
right wing wall, hoping that Finley can beat the Michigan
defender to the hash marks and avoid icing. But the
defenseman saw the play coming, got to the hash marks,
so icing on. Wisconsin face off to Tommy Scarfoni's left.

(31:12):
With thirty nine points seven seconds to go in the
opening period, page Moldenauer and Shifsky on the ice and
Michigan wins the draw edward slot shot kicked out right
pat safe Scarfony Mostley's got it now, he'll skate it
out of the zone, lost it in the snow near
the Wisconsin bench and alects to tap back to Logan Henzley.
Twenty five seconds to go, turnover look out over skating

(31:34):
Shipsky wide open. Then Morrisey got his stick in the
skates of Shipsky. He fell down. Michigan gets a power
play with twenty one point two seconds left. Wisconsin's made
some mistakes here in the defensive zone. Shipsky actually gave
Wisconsin a break by muffing the puck, but then.

Speaker 6 (31:51):
Morrisey got his stick in the way Wisconsin. We've seen
some up the middle type plays here tonight. So far
for Wisconsin hasn't a totally. This one obviously costs them
a penalty air power play to have to kill.

Speaker 7 (32:05):
But in the air you think that's going to get through.

Speaker 6 (32:09):
But that one tech just deflected down and Michigan's up
with an opportunity.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
Nineteen thirty nine, the time of the penalty on Morrissey
for tripping Badgers win the defensive's own face off and
fling it all the way down. The Wolverines are twenty
three percent of the power play this season. In the
Big Ten, they're eight for twenty four, that's thirty three percent,
but zero for five against Minnesota last weekend. Badger's doing
a nice job wasting time. Puck out to the right wing.
Hege had it just as the horn sounds, and that's

(32:35):
it for the opening period. Shots on goal eight to
five in favor of the Maize and Blue, but the
Cardinal and White with the lone goal Kyle Kuchen and
his fifth of the year, won nothing Wisconsin after the
opening period of play. Back in the moment, this is

shot at eight thirty five, Logan Henzler got the secondary
assist the power play goal for Kuchan in his fifth

(34:21):
of the year. That was the only power play the
Badgers got in the opening period. Michigan is on one
after a late period penalty to Gavin Morrissey, so the
Wolverines will start the second period with a minute thirty
nine of power play. Hockey shots on goal eight to
five in the first period in favor of Michigan. But boy,
Tommy Scarfoni was good, especially late as the Wolverine started

(34:43):
picking up the pace.

Speaker 6 (34:44):
Yeah, he had some huge says point blank in the
last five minutes or so of that period, probably Forest
Michigan had missed the net a few times. They missed it,
put Bucks over the net a couple of times trying
to find that perfect spot. He was big for the
batterers and uh yeah, Ba took advantage of one opportunity
got on the board. Michigan started this game fast. Badger's

(35:04):
got a.

Speaker 7 (35:04):
Power play goal. They had a little bit of.

Speaker 6 (35:07):
A good stretch there and then Michigan pushed back at
the end for sure, drew the penalty late, and that's
kind of what you expected. Again, they haven't scored two
games before this. I had another period to that start
gripping their sticks and kind of wondering what's going on
in their locker room?

Speaker 7 (35:21):
For sure.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
Yeah, you know, I'm not sure how many shots they
attempted in that opening period speaking of the Wolverines, but
only eight on goal and fifteen were blocked by the Badgers.
That's a single period high in this season for Wisconsin.
We don't even need to look that up. But the
Badgers with a one nothing lead after one here in
ann Arbor, and the American Family Insurance first intermission report

is coming up. This is Badger hockey from their field.

season high for a game which happened last Saturday against

Speaker 7 (37:47):

Speaker 6 (37:50):
Badger d like they did that period Michigan again, super
high pressure and Badgers whether they were doing it on
purpose sometimes they were some of them. I think Michigan
was just hitting Badgers, just trying to get pucks on
net and whatever it is. That's a lot of blocks
for a period for sure, and helping out Tommy Scarfoni,
who made a couple of blocks of his own for

(38:11):
sure in that period.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
Yeah, well, Wisconsin, one way it can keep Michigan off
the board is to stay out of the box. A
late tripping penalty on Gavin Morrissey Wolverines will have a
power play. When those second period starts, We're still a

(40:15):
ranked Minnesota home to play third ranked Michigan State. That's
a seven thirty Central time start. I believe in fifteenth
ranked Ohio State home to play Notre Dame. Last night
in the Capitol Hockey Classic, a non conference game, Penn
State beat Army four to one as Rhese Lawback had
a couple of goals and the interesting side notes Penn

(40:36):
State's head coach Guy Gadowski coaching against his son Mcgadowski,
who's a defenseman for Army. Here are the Badgers lead
Michigan one to not things. Second periods coming up. This
is Badger hockey from Airfield Hi.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
This is Paul Brown. I lost my wife Kieren to

And I can tell you from first hand experience that emotional.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
Lion energy, a lion energy is powering beyond for you.
It's time to drop the park for the second period.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
Fine Posik, Paul Kappel, Biangow with jost Arena and Ann
arbor wisconstantly Dave Frank, Michigan won nothing. As we get
set for period number two, and we were talking about
you know, Michigan had eight shots on goal in the
opening period. The Badger's blocked fifteen shots in all. The
Wolverines attempted twenty eight. They were all target five times,

(41:27):
I mean. And then eleven different Badgers had at least
one block shot in the opening period, eleven out of
nineteen skaters. That's pretty good. That's team hockey right there.

Speaker 7 (41:38):
And you know, again, Michigan not scoring last weekend.

Speaker 6 (41:41):
Sure one of their focuses this week is just put
the puck on the net. They're attempting to do that.
Badger's gotten the way a lot of times. I would
love to see fewer attempts to this period. Yeah, maybe
some play at the other end.

Speaker 3 (41:53):
Wolverines have gone one hundred and seventy five minutes and
thirty eight seconds without a goal. Their last goal scored
was the series finale against Western Michigan a couple of
weeks back at two to one Wolverine's win. So the
Badgers shorthanded for the first minute thirty nine a period
number two. Lynn Mark horback care and launch on the

(42:14):
ice for Wisconsin. Good to see Jack Horbach back there
after getting hit in the ear on his shots from
his teammates late in the first period. Lind Mark won
the face off Horbock wax it back deep into the
Wisconsin zone. The only one to get there is Carer.
He tried to bank it out and clear, but he failed,
and then Humphreys coughed it up to Linn Mark. Here's

(42:35):
Linn Mark wide left, hearder than at Horback. Lynn Mark
shoots one and stop by Stein. He dropped it down
to the ice and covers all. The Badgers have gone
forty games without a shorthanded goal, and the two best
at it four Wisconsin over the last number of years.
Lynn Mark and Horbach had a two on one.

Speaker 6 (42:52):
And Stein he made to say it, but he looked
a little bit shaky on it kind of dropped it down,
and lin Mark circled around and kind of was coming
back to see because it looked like Puck had maybe draft,
but Stein had it in between the pads and the
Badgers will take an offensive zone face off here on
the penalty kill.

Speaker 3 (43:10):
Stein's a large young man six three to two oh
five spent four years at Farris State. His freshman year
was unforgettable. He went oh eleven and one as a senior,
though he had a ninety nine to ten save percentage
for one of the worst teams in college hockey. Turn
around shotless Skosky stores off the draw a shorthander by

(43:32):
less Skowsky, the Badger's lead to nothing. Stein did not
see that one coming.

Speaker 6 (43:38):
Wow, puck just loose in towards the slot by the
hash marks. Leskovsky got spun around, but he's spun around
in the right position. That puck ended up right on
his stick. After the spin around, he just fired it
over the What a shot over the right shoulder of Stein,
short side high and the Batters get a shorty here,
first short handed goal in four one games.

Speaker 3 (44:02):
Dating back to last season. Liskowsky at the twenty second
mark gets the Badgers their second goal. Shoal will get
an assist and Wisconsin with a two nothing lead on
the road against Michigan. Power play continues for the Wolverines
for another sixty seconds, but Horback and lind Mark doing

(44:22):
a nice job in the defensive zone or in the
offensive zone to keep Michigan hemmed in. Now Hallim works
his way across center ice, drops it off to the
right corner in Hage. Now Hallin back to Hage in
the corner, throws it out to the point he goes
and hughes, walks the wall. Hage has it half board's right.
They snapping around the perimeter. Here's Humphreys with it straightaway.

(44:42):
Now trust it back to Humphreys left wing backside right Age.
The right hander looks and shoots and may have gone
off the stick of lind Mark and out of play.
Eighteen fifty one to go in the second, thirty seconds
left on Michigan's power play, it's two nothing Wisconsin. Liskowsky
nets his fourth goal of the sea and all four
of those goals had come in the last seven games.

(45:03):
He's now twelve point shy of one hundred for his collegiate.

Speaker 6 (45:06):
Career, and the Badgers have talked The Badger's coaching staff
have talked about face offs being an important part of
the Badger offense, especially early on in the year when
they weren't generating much loving to get a goal of
game off a face off play or somewhere in that
neighborhood at least make it a dangerous.

Speaker 3 (45:26):
Oh what a stop by Scarfony on a bullet by
William Whitelaw right dot to left dot. Whitelaw a one
timer and Scarfhony slid to his right. I think it
hit him right in the noggin.

Speaker 6 (45:41):
Yeah, he just left right with the puck, got as
much as a net as he could and it found him.

Speaker 3 (45:46):
White Law down the wall left wing double team then
turned it over shol will whack it down. That'll do
it for the rest of Michigan's power play. So the
Wolverines failed to score on the man advantage, but the
Badgers score on Michigan's man advantage nothing and the steal.
Mosley now chipped the shot from the left goal line
right over the top of the cage. Hensler pinches down
wins the puck to Moseley, snaps off the pass low

(46:08):
left of Morrissey. He bangs it off the backboards for
Finley right point. Henzler his shock. Where is it? It's
loose in front? Oh backhander Morrisey stopped by Stein. Creepound.
Moseley could not wrap around Morrisey. Stein comes over and
keeps it out with his left pad. Then Morrisey tackled
by Draper. Penalty coming up on Michigan. All the Badgers
had two three chances in Titan Logan Stein to extend

(46:31):
their lead. Instead, Stein gets the job done. But now
the Badgers will get another crack on the power play.

Speaker 6 (46:38):
Okayvin Marcy had the puck on the wrap around, there
is their goaltender.

Speaker 7 (46:42):
Stein was way out of the play.

Speaker 6 (46:44):
Michigan defender somebody got his stick in the way to
prevent the wrap around what looked like easy goal. But
it's kind of funny to start this period Michigan on
a power play. They kind of been out of sorts here.
Obviously we saw Wisconsin score pound the penalty kill and
here back in the play after that, they just looks
like they're kind of disjointed to start this and the

(47:05):
Badgers will see I they can take an advantage again.

Speaker 3 (47:07):
Cunit's power play Badgers one for one tonight Draper cross
checking at two twelve, lin Mark, Fitzgerald, Kuchanin, Hensler and
Dick on the ice. This unit converted on the first
power play of the game. Dick left circle pass to
lind Mark didn't get to him, but Michigan couldn't clear
the Badgers. Fitzgerald has it outside the right circle, backside left,
nice catch. Deick put it in front off the right

(47:29):
pad of Stein trying to hit Kuchen and Kyle battling
for the puck instead of trickles free Trustcott's got it
and he'll fling it all the way down again. Michigan
with three short handed goals this season, all by Garrett Shifsky,
who's now on the ice with Jackson, Hallam Tyler, Duke
and Ethan Edwards. Badgers come out with their number one
power play unit, although Hensler remains for the time being.

(47:51):
Hensler gains the red line. Instead of dumping in, he
just waits and now he'll fire it around to the
left corner where Finley gets it, returns it to the
right wing and Mosley now the point man deck Sheimer
on the ice, Liskowsky with it. He takes it to
the right corner. Two Michigan Wolverines on him there. He
tried to force it around the boards but muffed it
once or twice and then turned it over. Hallim takes

(48:12):
it away and slides it to center. Fifty eight seconds
left on the power play too nothing Wisconsin. Second period,
backside passed for Finley, good stick by Duke. That puck
caroms over the glass and out of play. Offensive zone.
Face off coming up for the Badgers, leading to nothing
here early second period.

Speaker 6 (48:28):
You mentioned that last entry Logan Hens there had the
puck kind of spun around and bought some time and
great vision saw on the far side Quinn Finley on
the boards and just put it around the boards to him,
that's as effective entry as any other one.

Speaker 7 (48:42):
You're gonna have here.

Speaker 3 (48:44):
Face off the Stein's right Morrissey against Estappa, and the
face off one by Michigan, and with some time Rayo
Mullin and he'll send it all the way down so
the Badger's top unit will pick it up behind the
net and get things going here. A stop is out there,
try to slow the progress of Wisconsin. Morrisey quickly across
the line right wing. Now Leskowsky bumps it back to

(49:07):
the point. Dex Sheimer swings it left side. Finley outside
the left circle slot past Moseley shoots. Once saved may
Bystein rebound. Dexheimer's got it still looking for his first
goal of the game, pressured high slot by Ernesty, who's
able to whack the puck off of dex Sheimer's stick
out the center. Badger's retrieved, though Moseley across the line
in Leskowski passed fout its way to deck Shimer low left.
Now Finley sends it back around to Morrissey at the

(49:28):
left point. Gavin Morrissey snaps off and pass right wing
dex Sheimer's stick handling down the wall. His pass low
to Liskowski off his stick, Morrissey tried to redirect to
the circle in Moseley instead taken away by Truscott. Neil
send it all the way down and the Wolverines back
at full strength. Wisconsin one for two on the power play,
but has two special team's goal Tonights. That power play

(49:50):
goal in a shorthander as well. It's too nothing. Wisconsin
with fifteen and a half minutes left in the center.

Speaker 7 (49:57):
I'm not that effective.

Speaker 6 (49:57):
I'm not sure they got a shot off on that
power play.

Speaker 3 (50:01):
Now Moseley had one from the slot. It's Stein kicked out.
That was it. That's it, and now the Wolverines pass
it ahead good stick by Wisconsin's care the Mellenbacker piedl
It gives chase on the four check. Fan Tilly moved
it first. Schols got it now, pushed it back deep
behind the net. Mellenbacker tried to shovel in front and
Piela that went off the stick. Piedl At tracks it

(50:23):
down right wing and turns and dumps it back behind
the nets. Mellenbacker fends off the defender and piedle Of
fires one just wide stick side on Stein held in
by Falan back deep to the corner and Shol piedl
It comes to help out and wiped out the defenseman
Tyler Duke. But Fan Tilly's got it now for Michigan.
A man's to hallim immediately met by Falan, able to

(50:46):
get it deep in the Wisconsin zone. However, Hughes playing
keep away from Hensler out to the left point Edwards
very active tonight is Ethan Edwards. The New Jersey Devil's
draft choice and now a bad play at the blue line,
kicked away by Tyson Dick trying to get behind the
Michigan Wolf. He's whooped, pulled, no penalty called, oh my goodness.
Felicio was doing everything he could to prevent Dick from

(51:06):
doing anything with a puck, and doing anything with his
stick for that matter. Now Edward's helping Felicio and then
coughed it up. Dick left wing pass Fitzgerald Badger's with
a puck in the offensive zone. It's loose on the
near side. Dick puts his shoulder into Hage Buck slides
free at the blue line, sent back to the left circle.
This is like a pinball game right now. Dick again
tied up skates to the slot, looking to shoot kennot

(51:29):
Schifsky in his way. Badger's possessing the offensive zone. Turn
around attempt by Dick was blocked, but Kochin in there,
and as he tried to get it deep to the corner,
he lifted it off the mesh and out of play.
Thirteen fifty four to go in the second to nothing Wisconsin.

Speaker 6 (51:45):
Tyson Dick's gotta have tired arms after that shift. They
had sticks on him all the whole tired way. The
first drive up the Eisers two well guy on either
side of him getting up with a stick.

Speaker 7 (51:54):
And then we saw that high on the slot.

Speaker 6 (51:55):
There high on the zone with another Michigan player just
getting at him with stick on stick or arm.

Speaker 3 (52:02):
Please eliminate the stick work on arms and hands. Hope
Badger's off the face off. Horbock pushed it to the
right wing. Dexheimer after it and is shot blocked by
Haitian out of play. We paused ten seconds for station identification,
ten seconds for a legal id. You're listening to Wisconsin
Badger Hockey.

Speaker 1 (52:20):
This is Badger hockey on your old Badger's sports station.
He was talk th WYD eight Madison now backed up
Brian Pocink.

Speaker 3 (52:30):
Brian and Paul at Yostina and Ann Arbor. Shots on
goal even now at ten apiece, but Wisconsin with a
two to nothing lead. A power play goal by Kyle
Kuchenan in the first period, a shorthanded goal from Codyleskowski
early here in the second, Lynn Mark to take the
face off against white Law and the Badgers. Lynn Mark
wins it. Dexheimer high slots shot by Horbach and Stein

(52:51):
stood up and waffled it to the far corner down
the wall. Shoals to keep it alive in the attacking zone.
For Wisconsin, lynn Mark got a stick on the puck
again Trustcott, but gathered in now by Whitelaw. He pitched
a pass near the badger line. Estappa will send it in.
Scarphoni out of his net and he ran into a
little bit of traffic, but got a fortunate bounce and
deck Sheimer's got slides a pass up to center. Horbob

(53:14):
bumps it along for lynn Mark, he needs a change
and Owen dumps it in thirteen fifteen left in the
second to nothing Wisconsin. Michigan tries to exit its own zone.
Falan just knocked down to stop a no penalty across
the line, drop past white Law far side. Here's Moldenauer backhandshot. No,
that's Rayam Mullen, the left handed defenseman missed the nets.
Now here's Duke slot pass intercepted by Wisconsin's Falin long

(53:38):
lead feed. Finley will run it down. Can he cut
to the net. Not sure he has enough real estate?
Good stick check by Humphreys. Finley with a puck and
then Moseley and Rayam Mullen collide with a Michigan cage
or goldteader. The cage came off its pegs. And are
they gonna take Moseley for a penalty or just reset
the nets? I think they are. They're just gonna reset
the net and we'll have a face off of the

(53:59):
Michigan zone.

Speaker 6 (54:00):
Yeah, they're saying Michigan knocked the net off because they're
not letting them change or they're bringing their players back
on the.

Speaker 7 (54:05):
Ice that were headed to the bench.

Speaker 6 (54:08):
And one thing I don't think we've mentioned. I don't
remember you saying anything about Ryland Moseley.

Speaker 7 (54:12):
But he's got.

Speaker 6 (54:13):
A new special letter on his jersey for the weekend.
He's got an a got added late this week. It's
another official leadership position for Wisconsin. Obviously, he's had a
great season coming in as a veteran from Michigan Tech.
And he's add a little bit more pepper to the
captain's steele.

Speaker 3 (54:34):
Here's Finley's slot looking left wing pass. Morrissey had handcuff him,
but Kevin's got it back and then a high hit
by Whitewall. Puck slides for you. It's loose to the paint.
Stein can't find it. Now he covers lost his club
and alson pushing and shoving Humphrey's and Finley going at it.
Then the line's been step in.

Speaker 6 (54:51):
I think he might be taking Quinn Finley here for
a stick in to the goalie's hand, which happens a lot.
Never gets called until team reacts.

Speaker 3 (55:00):
Usually, Yeah, Finley doesn't like the call at all, and
it's Nicholas Betts who's gonna make the call. Slashing on
Finley at seven thirty one in Michigan will get its
second power play of the game.

Speaker 6 (55:21):
Showing the replay again Finley just to the right of
the goaltender. It looked like the puck was bounced at
around I'm sure he thought the same thing. Just stuck
a stick in the middle of the play. Yeah, Stein's
glove came off. I'm not sure if that's how it
happened with finley stick, but his kind of glove came
off and refskated by and took Finley to the penalty box.
So last time I worked out pretty well. Rather not

(55:43):
be in the penalty box. But here's a chance another
important kill for Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (55:47):
You know, the Badgers had only four penalties in the
previous four games. Two Here tonight, lynn Mark korback latching
care on the penalty kill. Scarfhonian goal the face off
to his left. You leans in one by Michigan. Shifsky
protects Horbock, ties him up and then it's pushed away
from a couple of Badgers, but latch gets in the

(56:08):
middle of things and takes it away and sends it down.
It wasn't the prettiest defensive zone face off, but they
got the job done.

Speaker 7 (56:15):
Yeah, that was super dangerous.

Speaker 6 (56:17):
Three badgers went up outside the blue line and it
was just Latch back. If he doesn't actually get that play,
it's could be three to four on nothing.

Speaker 3 (56:24):
Morrissey has the puck on the puck that is now Michigan.
Shifsky backside pass as Hallim came from the right wing
cutting to the low slot, didn't connect. Truscott's got it
past age intercepted, deflected by Morrissey, taken by lynn Mark
and he sends it deep. Luskowsky comes out now, Horbock
will stay on the penalty kill with Falan and Shoals.

(56:46):
Here's Ethan Edwards, the left hander with speed across the line.
Pope check by Fhalan loose puck picked up by Hallim.
The stick of Horbock caught up in the sweater of Hallim.
So Jack skating without a stick, now heads to the
Badger bench gets assistant from equipment manager Nate LaPoint the
new stick for Horbach. Edward's top of the left circle
and his shot went off the stick maybe Leskowski's far side.

(57:08):
It's age leading freshman point getter in the country. As
Michael Age Edwards now left wing, H's back to Edwards
right side. Age he's the right hander that cuts to
his right, trying to get open space to the wing
and Ques one time plast Edwards blocked by Horbock. Leskowski
went down to back out to Edwards. Thirty seconds left
on the Michigan power play too nothing Wisconsin. Midway through

(57:30):
this hockey game, Hage stick handling low right, setting up
allum swings and misses, and then Horbock got enough of
it to clear it to center. But the Badgers can't
change now Horbock being replaced by Schol Badgers got away
with too many men on the ice, the stopping now
across the line. Michigan did too, by the way, and
now the puck down in the corner and Shoals will
send it all the way down. Then that should do

(57:51):
it for the Wolverines.

Speaker 7 (57:52):
Power play oh a lot of his own time that time.

Speaker 6 (57:55):
Pretty good move, puck move went back and forth, but
a couple of block shots by Wisconsin, a couple of
just shy executions by Michigan, and two minutes are gone.

Speaker 3 (58:05):
Wisconsin back at full strength. Finley has served as two
minute minor and the Badgers leading to nothing. Bucket center
ized molden Hour will whack it deep. Scarfhony behind his net,
thought about going right, went back left, care bumped off
the puck. Moldenaer steals low left, put it in front
stick by Scarfoni. He got the pedal of his stick

(58:26):
on it, and then it trickled off the skate to
his left. He was able to keep that out as well.
Then a long range shot by Michigan blocked before it
got to the Badger net. Loose puck and Shoals got it.
Now the Badgers need to settle down a little bit.
Nine to fifty five left in the second, It's to
nothing Wisconsin. Finley didn't get the puck deep. He had
an opportunity to do so, Michigan backed the other way.

(58:48):
Draper spins away from Care, but the puck popped free
and Anthony tries to headman to Dick. Carra's got it again,
shovels it off to Dick and enough of it out
to center ize past the defenseman rail.

Speaker 6 (59:01):
Why does it seem like Daniel Latches the guy that
ends up settling everything down in their own ze and
when things don't go quite right.

Speaker 3 (59:08):
Long lead feed deflected into the Wisconsin zone. Care can't
two handed out. Lynn Mark goes to the defenseman Hensler
and now up ahead, Bus back on the ice, deflex
it past Rayo Mullen. Rayel Mullen got there first, and
they'll break out to Dascus. Good hit by Linn Mark
to free the puck for a moment to Dick, but

(59:29):
Rayol Mullen's got it again and now ernesty from long range. Easy,
he's saved, made by Scarfoni. He'll drop it all for
Hensler and we'll play on. That's the nine minutes left
in the second to nothing. Wisconsin power play goal from
Kyle kuchenan shorthanded goal from Cody Leskowski called the transfers
for Wisconsin. Bex Shimmer throws it to the open ice

(59:50):
Bus can't get their turnover. Hallim's got it now right
wing and he lost to edge, fell down but back
up on his skates and he tried to push it
to the point, but Michigan in the process of a
change and the wolver have to touch up and they
send it right back into the Wisconsin zone to our left.
Beck Sheimer rims it around, hoping to hit bus. He
was engaged by Truscott. Will they say icing no, and

(01:00:11):
so Michigan hustles back into its own end to get
the puck.

Speaker 6 (01:00:14):
Truscott came up played bus and prevented the pass. So
that's a good non call by the linesman.

Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
Yep, here's Hughes now with speed across the line out right.
Shoal stays with him. Hughes muff the puck. Zach trying
to win it free for Fitzgerald and does break out
up the middle to Falan. He comes right wing now
with speed and Kochanan across the line slows a little bit,
bouncing past to Fitzgerald eludes the stick of Leskowsky. He
was open left wing. Fitzgerald tied up by Duke Michigan

(01:00:42):
able to take the puck, and here they come Moldenauer
one on one with Lotch. Lotch stays with him for
some wide back behind the net. Good play by Daniel Lotch,
and then Moldenauer met with a hit by care Lotch
trying to dig it free gets the job done to Finley.
Seven and a half minutes left in the second two
nothing Badgers. Finley nice as to Kukinon scoots it to
the right corner. Kyle got wiped up by Tyler Duke.

(01:01:04):
Duke now has the puck, angles aheadman pass at center
to molden Hour. He was pressured buck loose of the
Michigan blue line and a whistle it offside. Seven twenty
four left in the second. The Badger's lead Michigan two
to nothing. Badger Hockey brought to you by Rail Transport

the lead seven twenty four left in the second period.
Here in ann Arbor, dex Sheimer and Shoals defensively for

(01:03:02):
Wisconsin lead feed for Horbach off a stick and that
goes into the student section across the way, and they'll
drop the puck. I think it's center izer. Yeah, they
should drop it at center ice. They will.

Speaker 6 (01:03:18):
It's going to see that one landed in the tuba
but just fell short. A couple of people right in
front of the tuba. Made for a fun, fun noise
in the middle of that song.

Speaker 3 (01:03:27):
I still love hearing this story about Bob Buker when
he was with the Saint Louis Cardinals and he took
a tuba from a band member that was at the
ballgame and went out shagging fly balls with a tuba
during batting practice.

Speaker 7 (01:03:39):
Sounds about right.

Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
Oh, it is so funny, so funny. Speaking of announcers,
Al Randall, the longtime radio play by play voice for Michigan,
recently called his twelve hundredth Wolverines hockey game, and a
couple of weeks ago and Western Michigan during a home
and home series, Al was dropped the ceremonial first puck
nice and then it took him in a half an

(01:04:02):
hour to get upstairs, and he was late for the
call of the game.

Speaker 6 (01:04:06):
I know Michigan and Wisconsin. For Michigan in their first
ever game was against the Badgers, was Al Randall.

Speaker 3 (01:04:11):
Theare think he was yes. Look out, loose puck in
front of the Badger's net knocked out of Harm's way
to the far side. Long range shot by the defenseman
went off a stick and bounced to the right of
Scarphony and wide behind the net. Shoals defending against Ernesty.
That's Moldenour. We're looking a long way down to our left,
and molden Hour is slow to get up heading to

(01:04:32):
the Michigan bench, and it's taken him a lot of
time to do so he's favoring his right shoulder. Wolverines
have the puck back behind their own net and they'll
come up the middle. Rayo Mullen to pass for edwards,
too far batted back into the Michigan zone by Morrissey.
Raya Mullen will try again, but mostly steals it centering
past twirling behind the net. Didn't get through to Morrissey,

(01:04:53):
and then the Wolverines sent it down Wisconsin's way and
ice the puck with six oh five left in period
number t two to nothing, Wisconsin with the lead. Not
a lots of cheer abound for the fans wearing maize
and blue.

Speaker 7 (01:05:11):
There's a lot of that today.

Speaker 6 (01:05:12):
That gave out five hundred or so replica jerseys to
the students there all look like that.

Speaker 7 (01:05:17):
We're in a uniform over there.

Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
Yeah, it says, children of yost on their sweaters through
the Michigan mays stripes kind of cool face off to
the right of Stein, Morrissey, Moseley, Finley the forward line
for Wisconsin. Morrisey wanted to Findley taps it over to
Hensler walks the line. Now Finley left wing and he
got ahead of himself and coughed up the puck. The

(01:05:41):
Badger's battling to get it back. Moseley chipped it along
for Findley across the line. Quinn's got a step out
of the defenseman, cuts in on ray Own Mullen and
wipes out, tripped over the stick of the defenseman and
ran into the cage. It stays on its moorings. Michigan
in transition. Here's a stop I got by Morrissey. Loose
puck poked free, Gavin able to touch it out to center.
Finley will track it down one on one with Duke

(01:06:02):
comes in left wing shot one blocker saved, made by
Stein off the end boards. Michigan wax it around out
to center and that's where Anthony Kerr is and he
fires it in off the referee Barry Pakmara, who looks
back at the number of the player that just threw
the puck off his backside, taking names for later. Yes,
Michigan dumps it into the Wisconsin zone calmly. Falin rims

(01:06:25):
it around with the Badgers unable to exit. Falan cut
off trying to reach the puck behind the net again.
Anthony Kerr battling near side. Humphreyes twirls it back behind
the Wisconsin nets. Shoal stopped by Whitelaw care backs his
way into Humphries to gain some space. Anthony with it
with white Law right there now, Duke down the wall
out high, long ringing shot by Ernesty, easy saved made

(01:06:46):
by Scarphony and then a shot from the left wing
blocked by the Badgers, lifted out to center. Dick's got
it filling the lane left side his Shoal Tyson's got it.
He back hands show. Oh what a great saved timing
to is right Logan Stein lost his stick, so to
the Michigan defenceman. Long line shot by the point man
shoals missed the net. Now Dexheimer around behind the cage,
a stickless goaltender in goal for Michigan. A full three

(01:07:09):
sixty dex Sheimer shot off the stick of Dick, then
the left pad of the goaltender Stein and here come
the Wolverines the other way. They need to pitch it
ahead and get a change, but Wisconsin's Fitzgerald takes it
and now Dick will dump it deep. Stein's got his stick,
paddles it around to the far side. Fitzgerald with it,
though as he steals off the boards, Kuchenin tied up

(01:07:30):
a bit by draper pass comes all the way out
to Henzler. He works to his right, now spins back
to his left, stops at the point. Shot one may
have hit Fitzgerald's leg never got to the net, and
Michigan gets it out to center with under four minutes
left in the second to nothing Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (01:07:45):
Oh, incredible opportunity of Wisconsin.

Speaker 6 (01:07:47):
Best saved by the night by far, but for Logan Stein,
I'm going left to right on two on one.

Speaker 3 (01:07:52):
What a save stopping Sawyer's shoal after a beautiful backhand
pass by Tyson dick Uskowsky rolls and pass out to
centerize Kukanin put it between the legs of Edwards. No
Icing called Fitzgerald in on the foe check. But Michigan
with possession Fantilly bad past Steel. Finley shoots one. Oh,
what a save by Stein working to his right at

(01:08:12):
ricocheted back to his left. Bad turnover by the Wolverines.
Hey do it again. The Wisconsin's care walking in left side,
shoots one blocked five Fantilly loose to the left of
the gold tender out towards the blue line. Good play
by Flan to steel. Jack Falin looking for his first
point as a Badger cycles it along the right side.
Now for Morrissey. Now the Falan got caught up in escapes,

(01:08:32):
couldn't do anything with it. And then Michigan throws it
back to center and the Badgers will run it down
and again. The Wolverines, unable to change Mosley with its
center circle got hooked by Hallum. No penalty. Wisconsin's deck
Seimer now fires it in around to the right wing.
Finley's got it off the wall, sied up by Fantilly,
snaps off of past deck Seimer straight away. Shoals back
pedal shoots what through traffic got through? Rabout Badger's score.

(01:08:55):
Rylan Moseley in the vicinity Wisconsin, with a three nothing lead.

Speaker 6 (01:09:03):
Was waiting for a chance to say that Wisconsin looked
exactly like Michigan did and stretches of the first period
in this last stretch, and just like earlier, they couldn't
find the net this time, the rebound just sitting there.
Ryland Moseley finally gets one past the goaltender Logan Stein.

Speaker 7 (01:09:17):
There's been some great opportunities of late.

Speaker 6 (01:09:19):
The newly christened this alternate Captain gets on the score sheet.

Speaker 3 (01:09:24):
Eighth goal of the year for Rylan Moseley. He had
a five game goal scoring streak snapped in the Michigan
State series and managed only two shots on goal against
the Spartans. But here he scores. It's seventeen to seventeen,
his eighth goal of the year, and Wisconsin has a
three to nothing lead at Yost Arena. Gives Shoals and

(01:09:44):
Deckzheimer assists. Although right now the official scorer has Finley
with a goal, but that was Moseley who scored it.
And maybe Finley and Shoals will get the helpers. We'll
get the official scoring year when we can. But we
do know Moseley put it in.

Speaker 7 (01:09:56):
And he actually it was a really nice play.

Speaker 6 (01:09:58):
Kind of skated through, reached and just poked the puck
over the goal line, a lot of traffic in front.
He found it and saw the puck and put it home.

Speaker 3 (01:10:07):
Good breakout by Dick to Deckzheimer. Three on three hard
charts and the net cut off by ray O Mullen
and then lind Mark steps on the puck and falls
down and it goes rolling back towards the Wisconsin bench
and Hensler goes to get it for the Badgers. Two
minutes left in the second three nothing Wisconsin Shoal now
with it. He got pressured a bit loose puck Leuskowsky

(01:10:28):
reaching for it, so was Piedla. Cody's got it, Tod
He with a shorthanded goal. Here's a beautiful move by
Daniel Lodge skating through Wolf Raines. Is shot in tight
off the chest of the goaltender. Now here's Hensler with it.
Awf balance shot got through say made by Stein. Piedla
backs the goaltender into his cage and then gets a
little hug from Tyler Duke, but cooler heads prevail. One

(01:10:48):
thirty nine left in the second three nothing Wisconsin.

Speaker 6 (01:10:52):
And Daniel Lotch talked about him a few times, already
won on the offensive end earlier when it he nearly
put a puck in the net after beating the team
in goaltender. This time Piedela just kind of snowplows the
goaltender after it's sitting there. Family got a penalty not
too long ago for a slash. Everyone just kind of
pushed him into the net.

Speaker 3 (01:11:13):
Shots on gold in this period seventeen to five in
favor of the Badgers, and remember they started this period
short handed, but twenty seconds in Cody Luskowski lasered one
past nine to make it to nothing, and then mostly
with a goal late year in period number two to
make it three zip. Badgers backing their own end, Anthony

(01:11:36):
Kerr fending all furnace breakout pass by Kuchinin intended for Fitzgerald,
slides off his stick and then Dascus just whacked the
stick of Fitzgerald out of his hands. A penalty coming
up on Dascus for slashing, and the Badgers get a
cutest power play with one eighteen left in the second.

Speaker 6 (01:11:55):
I've seen a lot of stick work tonight, for sure.
Of course, we only seeing the Michigan stickwork. I'm sure
the Wisconsin's done a little bit too. But here a
stick play knocks a stick out of the hands, and
the Badgers will get another chance here to keep building.

Speaker 3 (01:12:12):
Eighteen forty two at the time of that penalty for
slashing on Thomas Daskas, he spent the last three years
at Miami and actually started his collegiate career at air Force.
Did Dascas, who's a Rochester Hills, Michigan native, so back
in his home state, but right now is sitting in
the penalty box, and Michigan wins the defensive zone face

(01:12:35):
off and Duke able to get enough of it out
through center ice, Tom Power playing it out for the Badgers.
Dex Sheimer up the middle of the ice left wing,
Morrissey moves it along. Now Finley back hard right. Here's
Finley rising a shot over the shoulder of Stein that
missed the net. Boy he had Leuskowski coming down the
right wing Finley elected to shoot and missed it. Badger's

(01:12:56):
regroup Wiskonsky Rimson around right corner to let Morrissey tied
up a stoppa for a moment, but Marcus stopp As
an older young lad the senior from Saint Clair, Michigan,
I muscled Morrissey and clear. Forty seconds to go in
the period, won twenty left on the Badger's power play
three nothing Wisconsin. Morrissey center eyes Finley again Ernest he

(01:13:18):
meets him with a shoulder check. Rayo Mullen slows Morrissey's progress.
Kuchen and steals, though sauces over to Finley straightaway. Hensler
back to Finley twenty three seconds to go on the
period down low pivoting Kuchen and stop by Stein and
he hangs on Oh, Kuchen and Nada's back to the
ice surface really and then just spun and faced up

(01:13:38):
on Stein and try to sneak it past him. Globe sigh.

Speaker 6 (01:13:41):
We've seen a couple of plays in recent weeks with
Cody Leskowsky, Riley Moseley make that similar play right outside
of the goaltender put the puck through their legs across
the far side it's time kuchan in alects to spin
and get a shot off, and Stein did a pretty
good job at his glove and covered up.

Speaker 7 (01:13:57):
As much net as he could. It was pretty from
pretty close and made the same.

Speaker 3 (01:14:01):
Then Mark take the face off linesman, pointing to himself
for making a mistake. There, they're gonna have to reset
the clock. Owen Lendmark sixty six percent in the face
off circles this season, number one of the Big ten,
among the best in the country. Owen, playing in career
game number one fifty three Badgers captain, had a power

(01:14:24):
play goal last Saturday against Michigan State, Badgers appeared to
be on their way to a series sweep of the
top ranked team in the country, only for the Spartans
to rally and win in overtime. But as Paul and
I mentioned at the outset, the Badgers have been playing
so much better both offensively and defensively since the season started,
and we're seeing that here again tonight.

Speaker 7 (01:14:47):
And something. It's just flat out execution.

Speaker 6 (01:14:49):
Really, I mean, Batters, I argue played really well almost
every game this year.

Speaker 3 (01:14:54):
Here's Dick now with it pressured left wing looks for
some help, finds Henzler right wing. Now Fitzgerald tried to
put it in front, quickly blocked by Edwards. Seven seconds
to go on the period, Michigan clears it all the
way down. That'll do it for the period, but the
Badgers will have forty one seconds of powerplay hockey forty
two when the third period begins. A good second period

(01:15:15):
for the Badgers. They led one nothing after one they

Sisconsin ATA won nothing lead after one on Kyle Kuchenan's
power play goal, and then the Badger started the second
period shorthanded because of a tripping penalty to Gavin Morrissey.
But the Badgers scored shorthanded off the face off. Cody
Loskowski beat Logan Stein for his fourth goal of the
season is fourth in the last seven games. Sawyer Shoal

(01:17:04):
won the face off to set up Leskowski twenty seconds
into the second period. The Badgers led to nothing, and
then at the seventeen to seventeen mark, new alternate captain
Rylan Moseley able to tuck in a puck pass Stein,
with Zach Schulz and Ben Deckzheimer getting assists for Moseley
his eighth goal of the year. He's now five point
shy of one hundred for his career. The Badgers with

(01:17:27):
a three to nothing lead after two periods of play.
Wisconsin eighteen shots on goal in that second period, Michigan
had only five. Tommy Scarfoni perfect so far in goal
for the Badgers. Logan Stein actually kept Michigan in the
game with some of the saves he made there in
the second period.

Speaker 6 (01:17:44):
He did, and he started the period on a power play,
and I mentioned it, the first five ten minutes they
just didn't look right, Michigan kind of out of sorts.
Badgers get that shorthand goal to start and then kind
of just kept going from there. The way that period
went a couple of power plays for both teams Wisconsin
obviously continues into the third period, But the way the

(01:18:04):
first a lot of the first period looked like with
the Michigan kind of pressure in the Badgers and making
it difficult and the Badgers getting forced into some turnovers.
Badgers blocked them a ton of shots in the first period.
The second period Michigan throwing pucks up the middle.

Speaker 7 (01:18:18):
Things like that.

Speaker 6 (01:18:19):
Badgers putting that same pressure on and getting opportunities. You
mentioned logan Stein. He definitely kept this from getting an
out of hand for Michigan. He made some big time saves,
but for sure got a like eighteen to five shot
total in a period after getting five in the first
period for Wisconsin. That's it's quite the turnaround. And they

(01:18:40):
reflects it on the scoreboard right now.

Speaker 3 (01:18:41):
Yeah, and you'll up the three nothing lead after two
periods of play. The Badgers, don't you know, to keep
digging and clawing and scratching and do everything get out
of here with a victory. The Badgers have led had
the lead in thirteen of sixteen games this season, but
have only six wins in those thirteen games that they've
had the lead. So the Badgers hope to close it

Well after Michigan attempted twenty eight shots to Wisconsin's fifteen

Wunga, paulabobiank O'Brien Posik here at yost Arena and Ann Arbor.
We start the third period. The Badgers out of cueness
power play for forty two seconds, leading Michigan three to nothing.
Power play goal from Kuchen and shorthanded goal from Liskowski,
even strength goal from Moseley, Moseley, Morrissey, Liskowski, Deck, Sheimer

(01:25:10):
and Finley on the ice for this power play for
the Badgers, who will be skating from our right to
our lefts and the face off. A battle near the
Badger blue line, Arnesty between three Badgers able to get
it over to center. Edwards protects the puck near the benches,
cuts to his left past Leskowsky fires one off balance
and a safe made by Scarfhony harder than net went

(01:25:30):
Ernesty couldn't collect the rebound picks saved by Scarfoni shorthander.
I'm on a power play here with a shorthanded bid.
Here's Finley. Now, you don't want to fall asleep here,
you know.

Speaker 6 (01:25:43):
The last period of this exact scenario the opposite way,
Michigan on the power play and the Badger's scoreing shorthanded.

Speaker 3 (01:25:48):
Here's Shivsky with a puck one on three at center,
pulls away from pressure and turns and fires at one
hundred feet on goal in Scarfony easy gloves stop. The
Badgers will now go back to a regular two D
three forward format here after their power play has expired.
Wisconsin one for three on the man advantage tonight and

(01:26:10):
Kuconon able to get it off the wall to Tyson Dick.
He'll dump it down in around to the far side.
Fitzgerald and on the four check, bouncing puck whacked away
from kuchen In and all the way back Wisconsin's way
and Loatch will hustle after it and got enough of
it to get it up to Tyson Dick. Cut off
by Age, but Dick reached back. Fitzgerald bumped away from
the biscuit. Now Shipsky with it. He collects and dumps

(01:26:33):
it in and here's Age and on the four check
Scarfoni didn't recognize he was on the nearest side. Kind
of a lacks of days ago. Pass to the near corner.
Badger's able to get it out to center and get
a change. Ninety seconds in. Here's Age now one on
one with a lotch pulls away left wing between the legs,
pass to Hallim cut off by lynn Mark. Allan takes
the puck though Age to Rayo Mullen back to Age

(01:26:55):
left wing a Lotch on him. Good stick check by
lynn Mark, poking the puck away from Hallem steel by
Mellenmacher comes in right wing, looking shooting and he missed
the nets inside the dot. He hit the corner wall
instead out to center. Lindmark good battle to win the
puck for a moment, but taken away by Hallim. Here's
Moldenour now cutting it on Falan. Good recovery by the

(01:27:16):
freshman defenseman Falan, who then carries Moldenower into the inboards.
And he's been banged up tonight. As Moldenaer left the
game earlier with the right shoulder injury, it appeared now
lind Mark steals from Estapa. Estopa returns the favor against
lind Mark, and now he'll turn and dump it in
right to the stick of lind Mark, and the Badgers
have a little bit of time and space. Two twenty

(01:27:37):
into the third it's three nothing Badgers and.

Speaker 6 (01:27:40):
I just contend here and just getting in line chains
killing off time. You hear the boost by the children
of Yost.

Speaker 3 (01:27:48):
Lead feed deflected by Loskowsky no icing deep in the
Michigan zone to our left edwards after it uses the
cage to get some space away from Piedle up and
up the middle now to Dascus and it bounces around
to the far side. Got to pass through here is
white Law now slot turn around shot, missed it on
the blocker side of Scarfony. William can really shoot the puck,

(01:28:09):
but missed the at that time. Here's a long range
shot deflected on top of it Scarfoni. He went to
his right, came back left, dove on the puck and
then afterwards pushing and shoving and hacking and whacking. I'm
not sure if we'll get any penalties to come from it,
but what reactions by Wisconsin goldtender Tommy Scarfoni to keep
it a three to nothing game.

Speaker 6 (01:28:29):
Yeah, it looks like he was kind of floating in
mid air as he was originally making the save. It
got changed direction and uh, just so William Lightlaw to
take a pretty good lick from I think it was
Cody Leskowski, who doesn't know him at all, but it was.
There was a late cross check by William Whitelaw that
started that whole thing.

Speaker 3 (01:28:47):
And his teammate, Yeah, Morrissy, Moseley and Finley out there
face off held in by Michigan fan Tilly Banks. It
off the end boards towards the front of the net,
and Scarfoni read the play and leaned to his left
and put his mid on it and covered another face
off inside the Wisconsin zone. Three nothing, Badgers sixteen fifty
four to go in the third series finale Tomorrow night,

(01:29:11):
six o'clock Central, face off five thirty pregame on the
Badgers Sports Network in the Varsity Network app. And then
the first semester will be complete. Warrisey against Draper one
by Michigan. Roe finds an open man the defense been
shot blocked by Shoals. Oh Truscott shot it right into Shoals.
Badger's take the puck, lead feed Findley one on one

(01:29:32):
with Van Tilly looking backside left, Morrissey in front, intended
for dex Sheimer, just didn't connect. Dex Shimmer went hard
to the net that time in a whistle and we
got a penalty behind the play called by Barry Pakmara
two minute minor on Michigan's Josh Ernesty for crosschecking. Badger's
get another cutest power play three twenty five into the

(01:29:54):
third leading three nothing.

Speaker 6 (01:29:55):
I got to talk about Ben dex Shimmer going harder
the net. He's looking for his first goal of the year.
I think only Daniel Latch I believe is the only
Badger defenseman with a goal this year. They do have
three assists tonight at the Badger d But yeah, the
Badger's get back on the power play here.

Speaker 7 (01:30:11):
Fourth win of the game.

Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
Went for three so far as earnest. He gets the
gates face off to the left of Stein Linn Mark,
who won thirteen of nineteen face offs in the first
two periods. We'll get credit for a face off win here.
Dick open walks the slot, shoots one stop made by
Stein with his blocker to his glove, and another face

(01:30:34):
off to come.

Speaker 6 (01:30:36):
So much room there for Tyson Dick and the slot. Yeah,
not a lot of traffic and he didn't really have
much of a choice there. Took a shot and Stein
made a pretty look easy looking.

Speaker 3 (01:30:47):
Save face off to Stein's right. Now, career record for
Stein sixteen thirty seven and four three forty one goals
against and an eight ninety three save percentage. Again, he's
the last four years at Faras State, a program that
struggled mightily in recent times, although better of late and

(01:31:08):
only a couple of games under five hundred. Is Faire State,
which is one four of five and the Badgers will
face the Bulldogs in the opening round of the Quick
trip Holiday faceoff on December twenty eighth in Milwaukee. Ticketmaster
dot Com tickets for that tournament. Badgers dumping into the
offensive zone on this power play, bounces around left wing.

(01:31:30):
Dick finds an open man and with it as Henzler, No,
that was Kukin in his shot blocked, blocked by Trustcott
Badger's hole. Dick with it now walking left side. His
shot hit Lindmark in the backside and Michigan able to
clear it.

Speaker 6 (01:31:44):
Looked like kukan and was looking for a pass or
something there before he took his first shot, and then
Dick was in the exact same position. He was a
little earlier and a little bit more traffic by that
one couldn't get through either.

Speaker 3 (01:31:55):
Linn Mark's slowly getting over the shelf into the Badger's bench.
Hit in the backside. Oh back door pass hard charging
Leskowski tried to chip in that feed from Finley and
just put it over the top and now the puck
out of play. Oh good, look by Finley. The Badger's
getting up and down the ice. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:32:15):
Finley put his stick over his head, realizing what was
close to him happening there with the heck of a
play on the pass play.

Speaker 7 (01:32:25):
It was kind of waiting for the net to move,
but it never did.

Speaker 3 (01:32:27):
Never did. Warisey did take the face off again against
his stuff of Badgers have done a nice job in
the face off circles of late. Struggled a bit in
the first period, but they've again been one of the
better teams in all the country. Buck's still loose in
the circle and it's chipped to Edwards looking for open space,
and he'll fling it all the way down and Scarfoni

(01:32:49):
will stop it and leave it for dex Shimer. There's
forty seconds left in the power play, the Badgers leading
here three to nothing. Dex Shimer left wing Finley through center,
chipped it now to the hoping Morris he can get there.
Edward's there first one hands it behind the net, Shipsky
tied up by Leskowski. Edward's now with it for Michigan,
although Leskowsky battling back. Twenty seconds left in the man advantage,

(01:33:12):
Morrisey pulls it free right wing Finley straightaway. Now dex
Seimer back to Finley. Eleven goals for Finley this season,
tied for second most in the country. And then deck
Szeimer coughed it up out near the blue line, taken
away by Michigan. Two on two Shipsky fills the middle
to stop a cut slot. His shot canceled out by
the stick of dex Sheimer. The Badger's power play. We'll
expire now one for four, three nothing, Wisconsin with a

(01:33:33):
lead four and a half fourteen and a half minutes left.
Here in the third period, Horsey games the red line
and sends it in and bounces it off a stanchion
oddly in a caram right in front of the Michigan net.
But the Badgers we're in the midst of a change. Now,
horback over skates. Look out, here's Rayo Mullen and the
left handed defenseman blew a tire, lost the puck and

(01:33:56):
his stick. He's crawling on all fours and the puck
sports free. Wisconsin's now got the puck. Horbock saws ahead
for shol He's met by the defenseman Fantilly at the
red line. Hallan picks up the loose change Ryo Mullin
and hit with a checked by a hor Bock. The
puck loose near the Badger bench. Mellenbacher shoulders Hage as

(01:34:19):
well and back into the Wisconsin zone. The puck spins
balin after it goes d to d to care up
the right wing wall over the stick of Draper found
the stick of kucon it. Kyle will send it in
to the left corner of the Michigan zone. Thirteen and
a half minutes left in the third three nothing Badgers,
buck squirts to center. White Law's got it, He's had

(01:34:40):
two good looks. Tonight, Whitelaw peels away left wing stick
candling with a man on on that Sencler pulls free
and shoots one a slot. Shot by white Law missed
the target. White Log again tries to back handed to
the blue paint canceled up by Hensler. Loose biscuit picked
up by Dick, fires a pass up to center and
Fitzgerald cuts to his left. Couchonin on side and the
shot by Fitzgerald his stick and bounces wide to the cage.

(01:35:02):
Now White Law again, Shoals will meet him one on one.
White Law stick candling on his backhand, forced wide behind
the net and then hit into the corner boards by Shoals.
Good play and now to stop him off. The right
wing wall got through two three Badgers and Shulls hooked
him as Scarfhony Poke checked the stick away from a
stoppa or the puck, but a penalty on Wisconsin shoals

(01:35:25):
the Michigan native will sit in the box. At the
seven to twelve mark of the third period, Badgers have
a three to nothing lead, but shorthanded for the third
time tonight, and.

Speaker 6 (01:35:35):
William Whitelaw had a couple of pretty good looks at
some of his own creativity on that shift, so his
exhuals who ended up in the penalty box depending him
relatively well, and then William Whitelaw doing a little talking
after yeah on the way as Schuls went to the
penalty box.

Speaker 3 (01:35:52):
But here.

Speaker 6 (01:35:54):
Again into three nothing. You don't want any momentum here.
It's still a lot of hockey game left. Another kill here,
the third win of the game for Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (01:36:02):
So far, so good, So far, so good. Two for
two on the PK plus a short handed goal, the
first of the season for Wisconsin. Lind Mark wins the
face off. Lodge turns to his left after faking out
Hallum to his right, and then sent at the length
of the ice mind Mark little token pressure trying to
get in the mind of Stein and al Horback pressuring

(01:36:24):
trust it and now Hage will skate up into the
Wisconsin line and take it away by Mark lind Mark
Parshall break short handed in on Stein back camp five
hole Oh kicked out with a left pad of Stein.
I think he beat him, but the momentum of Stein's
body moving to the right, his left leg actually came
through and kicked.

Speaker 6 (01:36:42):
That buck out with a crazy play. Michigan just stick
handling into the zone. They hit their own players skate
and then it.

Speaker 3 (01:36:49):
Was Hage right side drive by shift Sky missed the net.
Here's Edwards right side, Hughes center point, Edward's backside left
that it is Hage tried to force a pass to
the slot and shifty block to the wall. Page will
track it down. Power play for Michigan. Down three to nothing. Edwards,
Page now left circle out on him as failing. Page

(01:37:11):
takes a high slot. Edwards one timer missed. It just missed.
He went stick side on Scarfhoni and then off the
corner wall and it rolls all the way back to
the Michigan's own After at Leskowski, it's okay. Hit thought
maybe his teammate Horback would come down and pick up
the loose puck instead. The Wolverines now have it forty
seconds left on their power play.

Speaker 6 (01:37:30):
Yeah, we've seen occasionally a Badger miss from that point
on power plays. Another it's a tough place to besk
because it goes all the way around and back to
your own end and you just kill off twenty thirty seconds.

Speaker 3 (01:37:41):
Especially in this NHL sized rink. Whitelaw with it left wing.
William Whitelaw ten goals as a freshman at Wisconsin last
season and elected to transfer. Here's a toll poll shot
by Edwards blocked by the Badgers over twenty block shots
tonight for Wisconsin fifteen. Came in the opening period. Lotch
pestered by a Stapa. Humphrey's trying to win the puck

(01:38:03):
free Felicio down low right, puck slide towards the front
of the net and Leskowsky wax it to the backboards.
Estopa moved it around to Whitelaw. Badgers back at full strength.
White Law faked right, went back left, low left. Here's
a pass in front went off of scape ricochet to Scarfoni,
who was in his butterfly. He made the stop and
covered and then Horbach was going at it with Felicio

(01:38:25):
Estopa and another Badger being tied up, and I don't
think we'll see any penalties, but the Badger's penalty kill.
Paul got the job done, three for three on the
PK three nothing Wisconsin ten thirty seven left in the third.

Speaker 6 (01:38:41):
And they got it done, and they almost ended up
with another shorthanded goal. There might be some penalties here
the way things are lining up.

Speaker 3 (01:38:47):
Oh, they're gonna take care and Estopa all right, shots
on goal twenty six sixteen in favor of Wisconsin and
Michigan at on goal in the first period, only five
in the second. But they're gonna match up these penalties,
so a little more ice to work with.

Speaker 6 (01:39:10):
And that whole time, all that happened, pushing and shoving,
Refs make calls, and the whole time Tommy Scarfoni is
sitting there with the pockets glove.

Speaker 7 (01:39:19):
The line'sman come back, and hey, can we have that
we want to keep this game going.

Speaker 3 (01:39:23):
We'd like to play sure. Marcus Stoppas played in one
hundred and twenty seven games, Anthony Kara one hundred and
forty six. They've been known each other for a while
going head to head based off to the right of
Scarphony four on four. For the next two minutes, Draper
and Ernesty out from Michigan with Duke and Fantilli at

(01:39:46):
the blue line. The Badgers have Morrissey, Moseley, Shoals and
deck Zheimer. Shuals tried to skate the buck out of
his zone and got tripped up at nothing call. Fantilli
then doubled teamed and gave it away to Morrissey. Shoals
will join the rush. Morrisey left wing, Moseley down the middle,
trey Ling, dex Seimer cuts to the right wing, looks
at the dot and shoots one in Stein with a
glove save on his knees and hangs on ten nineteen

(01:40:08):
to go. On the third three nothing, Wisconsin leads.

Speaker 6 (01:40:11):
Michigan like that rush by Wisconsin. Gavis and Marcy up
the left wing. Kind of wonder if he's just gonna
dump it in, but he gets over the line and
Ben Dexheimer, I don't know if he was calling for
it or somehow he saw him out of the corner
of his eyes, got the trailer and dex Shimer created
a little bit of the shot going to the right
side around the knee. Logan Stein, who looked a little
shaky early, has been pretty good and looked pretty confident since,

(01:40:34):
even though he's given up three.

Speaker 3 (01:40:36):
Fitzgerald and Finland down the ice. I want to talk
about speed. Those two have it, but so does Michigan.
Here's age now with the right handerskape to the slot.
Now cut back right, latch, cut him off. Shipsky had
the puck behind the net chopped away from him by Ensler.
Now launch again. We'll break out ninety six to go here.

(01:41:07):
In the third period, three nothing Wisconsin in a whistle
had a penalty coming up on the Badger's fits chief
tenants of four off three power plays to the Wolverines.

Speaker 7 (01:41:25):
I'm just watching the replay of that.

Speaker 6 (01:41:28):
I'm not sure that anything really happened there, but the
player kind of lost balance going backwards.

Speaker 3 (01:41:34):
All right, we'll take a break with.

Back here and yost Arena. The Badgers short handed after
the two minute minor on Wisconsin's Fitzgerald for tripping at
ten eighteen. Lodge is now going to have to take
the face off in the defensive zone because Morrissey was
kicked out. Michigan won the face off. Hage has it hughes.
Hage opened the slot instead top of the right circle.
Hughes back to Hage Page stick handling looking backside left,

(01:43:39):
whitelaw with it four on three power play for Michigan.
Wolverine's trying to snap a shutout streak. Here's Hughes shooting
one left pat Satan made by Scarfhony, ricocheted the near
side wall with it now Hage Whitelaw with a blast
blocked by Lodge Watch got to it, rimmed it around
past Hughes and all the way down nothing Wisconsin nine

(01:44:01):
nine to go. Here in the third Badgers short handed
for another eighty seconds. Four on three power play for Michigan.
Hughes with it left wing now white Law catches on
his backhand, steps to the high slot. Whitelaw looking pitched
it back right wing to Hage. Now Age stick handling
shooting stick say made by Scarfhony. He dropped the stick
and knocked it out of his hands. Here's Hage now

(01:44:23):
with it right side White Law Hey rose one two
high glove side on Scarfhony, who was using Dexheimer's stick.
Now retreat by Michigan. They're on the attack again. Hughes
stick handling right wing, got around Dexheimer, who's without a stick,
passed by Hugh's backside off the skate of Dexheimer. Ben
now trying to just keep it along the kickplate. The
Badger's down five on four on the ice, leading three

(01:44:46):
to nothing here eight twenty to go in the third,
stop it with it fresh out of the penalty box,
peels back and throws it to the point. Here's age
now one timer White law off Hughes, Then from his knees,
Hughes with his back to the net, threw a backhander
off the post. Ain't no wait to go in the third,
Wisconsin still another twenty four seconds to kill off on

(01:45:06):
the Fitzgerald penalty.

Speaker 7 (01:45:07):
Wow, it's been an exciting tense pelly kill.

Speaker 6 (01:45:11):
Wisconsin did a great job with three men on the ice,
blocking lanes and really preventing Michigan from getting shots off.

Speaker 7 (01:45:18):
And Scarfhon he's been great.

Speaker 3 (01:45:21):
Truss Gett now rims it around to the right wing
and then sent back around to the left wing. Now
as stop up back's his way into the Wisconsin zone.
The Badgers have killed off that Michigan power play. Four
for four on the penalty kill. Wolverines have the puck,
though Hallam shoots one mystic gloves sign on Scarfhony off
the corner wall and all the way back into the
Wolverine zone. Seven and a half minutes left, three nothing.

(01:45:42):
The Badgers leave the Wolverines.

Speaker 6 (01:45:45):
I saw a crossbar. We saw the guys without sticks,
Lotch taking face offs. That's kind of a wild stretch.

Speaker 3 (01:45:52):
Here's a steal by Dick. Headman's now to Finley. Good
stick by Hallam to take it off of Finley's stick,
and then they throw it away right to Wisconsin's Dick.
And here's Phalan. Now he'll pitch it deep into the
Michigan zone. Three nothing, Wisconsin leading seven minutes to play
in the third. Draper to Hallim, hands off in close quarters,

(01:46:13):
and then Dick took the puck away. Now he's tied
up by Draper and it's lifted out to center by
the Wolverines. Knocked down by Hensler, goes d to d
to Lotch. Daniel takes his time and he'll just heave
it to the left corner, bounces behind the net Badgers
in the midst of a change. Six point forty left
in the third, shots on goal twenty seven to eighteen

(01:46:34):
in favor of Wisconsin leading three nothing. Here comes Tyler
Duke at the red line. He'll dump it in around
to the right corner. Lotch quickly after it Draper cuts
him off of the puck. Move to Hensler, break out
to kuchenin. He'll scoop it ahead, hoping to hit Findley,
but too far in Fantilly took it away, bumps it

(01:46:55):
off now to Dascus. The right hander feeds it left
wing across the line. It's fantail. He waddles his way
down low left and shoals gout in the way of
that shot. The buck rolls along the kick plate and
hears Finley able to lift it up high through center
ice and taken by Michigan. With six minutes left in
the third, Badgers lead three.

Speaker 7 (01:47:14):
To Nothing's been playing so long without a whistle.

Speaker 6 (01:47:16):
Here there's two Badger sticks on the ice, one from
Daniel Latch, one from Bennett Dexzheimer.

Speaker 7 (01:47:21):
Still earlier in the Pelly Kill.

Speaker 3 (01:47:22):
Buck loose in the Wisconsin zone, Steel hughes centering past
a Hage cut off by Fitzgerald and now Mellenbacher in
pursuit of Rayo Mullen turn around shot didn't get through.
It's loose in front of Scarphony. Pushed that by ships.
He kept out by scarfhon He lose puck age with
a chance. Now Scarfhoni dives back towards the goal line.
Where's the buck it's underneath him. Tommy Scarfhony. The Badger's

(01:47:45):
still leading three nothing excellent goldtending and swarming defense by Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (01:47:51):
Scarfhon he went credit there.

Speaker 6 (01:47:52):
He is stick down on one play or the puck
was in front, Michigan got to the puck, poked it
in and his stick was right there. And then the
second one look like it might get past this padded
I think he got his glove and pretty much whatever
he could to help keep that out.

Speaker 3 (01:48:08):
Tommy Scarfoni has stopped all twenty shots. He's faced Page
had a chance and from below the goal line, pushed
it towards the crease, and actually Scarfhony stacked his pads
and kicked the puck back towards the goal line himself
and had to cover it up. Good breakout after winning
the face off by the Badgers. Here's Morrisey given go
with Mellenbacher passed to Owen too far. Truscott's now got

(01:48:31):
it for Michigan. He hit the brakes and goes D
to D and now it's Felicio to Shipski in the
past deflected into the Badger bench, stopping play with five
o nine to go in the third three nothing Wisconsin.
Minard's a proud sponsor of Badger Athletics and reminds everyone
to save big money on all your home improvement needs.
At Minards.

Speaker 2 (01:49:12):
Cottetta. The hag that PA had to hag that.

Speaker 3 (01:49:42):
That gat.

Speaker 2 (01:49:47):
From copt the public.

Speaker 25 (01:50:56):
Sorry for the technical difficulties, folks, but wiscon and still
leads Michigan three nothing, three twenty two left.

Speaker 26 (01:51:04):
In period numbers three. We have lost our entire internet
connection here in ann Arbor, and I'm not exactly sure why.
So right now, Bryan posts it over the phone at
giost Arena, where the Badgers lead three nothing and three
twenty two remaining in period number three. Power play goal

(01:51:25):
from cochin In in the first, shorty from Lesovsky in
the second, and even strength for Mostly to make it
three nothing near at the end of period number two,
three fifteen to go in the third, adrews on the
court check but Ethan Edwards, the defenseman one hand to
pass up the middle to Hage, just passed. The shifty
didn't handle it, and the badgress Couchanin takes it and
dumps it in Stein behind his dead throws her around

(01:51:48):
the wall. Kick back peep by Kuchen in I think
Chase was Pietla but said Michigan will escape its own
zone and Hage will heat it into.

Speaker 25 (01:51:57):
The left corner. Care after it there nice playing off
the wall for himself to keep it away from shifting.
Logan Steins was set to comoutous net for an express
attacker and Michigan had with too many players on the
ice and a whistle stops playing two forty four less
than the third three nothing with Toton the yettle is
stick in the Michigan cage. Are they going to get

(01:52:20):
the Michigan for too many men?

Speaker 15 (01:52:21):
They should.

Speaker 26 (01:52:23):
To many men on the ice down, Michigan is going
to get a power play for the knife walk the
court to wave.

Speaker 3 (01:52:35):
It's forty four to.

Speaker 26 (01:52:36):
Go with Johnson as the leaders, three uphing and will
go on the power play. You can in scort a
power play goal in the first period on a shot
by fifty Herold that Kyle just redirected.

Speaker 25 (01:52:51):
In based off of the right of Logan's stein and
the Badgers watched with the puck. He sends it left
wing now to Morrissey bumps it back to lotch Two

(01:53:11):
defensemen out on this power play and why not leading
three nothing don't want to make any mistakes here. Morrissey's
out there mostly in Finley. They're moving it around behind
the nest, just using perimeter play now really ragging time. Basically,
Finley's sauces across left point to launch down to the
corner Morrissey and now Morrisey's passed intercepted by Michigan. They

(01:53:32):
can't clear. Deck tim are pressured out high by Earnesty,
trying to keep it alive in the attacking done latch
will for a moment, steel By deck Tiber walked in
low left. Here's Morrisey backs by Finley stores all the
Badgers broke.

Speaker 26 (01:53:45):
Down the Wolverine.

Speaker 25 (01:53:47):
They lead for nothing two oh four to go in
the third. It looked for a moment like Michigan was
gonna clear, but Watch and dech Tiber prevented that from happening,
and then deck Timer made the play up to the slot.
Found Morrisy low left, wide open was Finley low white

(01:54:09):
the hammerda pass signed for Finley's twelfth over of the season.
It comes at seventeen to fifty six Wisconsin. Lee born
nothing when Finley now tied for the lead in Division
one hockey with twelve goals, that was a beautiful finish

(01:54:32):
and what a way to finish this game here tonight,
I'm fifty two to go here in the third period
is four nothing Wisconsin fuck Ackehiama Michigan net and out
of the center of isases is getting the.

Speaker 26 (01:54:51):
Pocket romping down in.

Speaker 3 (01:54:54):
As leaving for the Michigan Wolverine now on the attack.
Hues kicks had made by Wisconsin Scarfoni and then sent
back into the Michigan zone. With one nineteen to go
in the third Badman now to hallim up at center

(01:55:18):
dascas camp play sent down towards Scarfony big hit near
side Haiti on Dick, a penalty coming up on Michigan
the freshman hunter Haiti took a run at Tyson Dick
and now we've got Luke bus Slogan Henzler after Haiti
and the linesman has come in to keep him away

(01:55:41):
from more Badgers. This has happened several times with Michigan.
They got frustrated last weekend when they got shut out
twice at Minnesota. Evan Werner took a run at Jimmy
Snuggeroot and got a one game suspension for his cross
checking penalty. Werner not in uniform tonight. Now Haiti takes
a run at Tyson Dick and Dick remains on his

(01:56:04):
knees in the Wisconsin zone with one oh five left
here in the third, Adam Morrison's our producer at Jefferson City. Adam,
are we good over air or over phone? Please? All right?
We're over the air, Thank goodness for that Badger's lead
here Ford to nothing and Andy Rody, the Badger's trainer,

(01:56:25):
is now slowly walking Tyson Dick back to the Badger's
bench and the referees will confer and Haiti's gonna get
two minutes. This game's gonna end with a Wisconsin power play.
But let's just hope that Tyson Dick's okay. We apologize
for the technical difficulties. All of a sudden, the internet

(01:56:46):
connection here at Yost Arena went dead. It's back up now,
Owen Lindmark talking with one of the linesmen, and it
looks like the referees are going to go into the
penalty box and take a look at video replay to
determine what they're going to do with his pedally, why
don't we take a one minute break Badger's lead for
nothing one five to go on the third. This is
Badger hockey from Learfield, The Big Game.

that same badger stamina. Where others step back, we step up, researching, treating,

(01:57:58):

you W Health to fight and win. UW Health Carbone
Cancer Center remarkable.

Speaker 3 (01:58:15):
Just showed the replay of that hit that Haiti put
on Tyson dig the moment ago and when lin Mark
was chirping with a freshman defenseman, so was Zach Schulz.
We get another look at it, and you know, Tyson
had his head down, he didn't have his head towards
the boards. It was a very hard hit, but looked

(01:58:38):
more shoulder to shoulder. I didn't see head contact. But
now Barry Pakmara is going to come out and let
everybody know exactly what the penalty will be. They're only
going to put two minutes on the board for Haiti,
So Haiti gets oh, Logan Hensler got a five minute

(01:59:06):
major for grabbing the face mask of Haiti, which I
did not see. So a face masking major on Hensler
and then the interference on Haiti. Both penalties at eighteen
fifty five, and we'll be skating four on four for
the completion of this hockey game. Actually, they gave Haiti

(01:59:29):
two two minute minors, it looks like which I'm not
certain why they did that. I think they're still trying
to get everything straight away here, and they are. But
again one O five left Wisconsin with a four to
nothing lead. Was finley for Morrissey and Dezheimer at two.

(01:59:51):
Make that seventeen fifty four, twelveth goal of the year
for Finley that really iced this hockey game. Dex him
with a couple of assists tonight, four different goal scorers
for the Badgers, and again Hensler gets a major for
face masking at eighteen fifty five. We're going to scape

(02:00:12):
four on four to end this hockey game, and it
looks like for Michigan, Dascus will serve the penalty to
Haiti and Mosley will serve Pensler's five minute major. Shoals Falin,
Shoal and Kuchanan on the ice four Wisconsin and the
puck to flex into the Michigan zone. Well, this is

(02:00:35):
quite amazing actually, when you think about the Michigan Wolverines,
one of the more prominent scoring teams in the country.
There's an interference penalty on Ernesty that was not called
as he wiped out Kuchenin at center eyes Michigan with
a puck four on four fake shot. Edwards ran into
Wisconsin's faling puck played to the far side. Ernesty leans

(02:00:57):
into kuchanin to win the biscuit free big right hander
turnaround shot, kneeling gloving saving as Scarfoni with thirty two
point four seconds left. I mean Michigan got shut out
and back to back games at Minnesota last weekend, first
time shut out in back to back games in eighty years,
and here the Wolverines could potentially be blanked again. With

(02:01:20):
thirty two point four seconds left. They've gone two hundred
and fifteen plus minutes without scoring a goal. That is
unheard of in this arena. With amazing blue, it just
doesn't happen, but it's happening. Here's Hallim now walking the
line left wing fan Tilly twenty four seconds left out
to the point, muffed by Rayo Mullen, taken away by

(02:01:43):
Wisconsin's Horbach, and he'll send it back into the Michigan zone.
Tommy Scarfony tonight with twenty three saves. Michigan was pushing early,
but the Badgers countered, got a power play goal and
a short handed goal, and Michigan hasn't been in it
since steel mylin Mark two seconds left and the Wisconsin
Badgers come on the road and shut out Michigan for nothing.

(02:02:08):
And after the whistle, Lyndmark whistled a rister at Stein,
who blockered it away and a couple of Wolverines took
exception to it. Tommy scarfhony second shutout in three games.
The Badgers beat the eight thranked Wolverines by the final
score of fod to nothing. Our postgame shows coming up.

Badgers going with a power play goal, deflecting a shot
by Christian Fitzgerald. Logan Hensler, also with an assist Kuchanin's

(02:03:46):
fifth goal of the year, one nothing Wisconsin after one.
The Badgers only had five shots on goal in the
opening period, Michigan at eight, and then after a penalty
on Wisconsin's Gavin Morrissey for tripping with twenty one seconds
left in the first, the Badgers were shorthanded to start
the second, but Sawyer Shoal won a face off and
Codyleskowski lasered a shot past Logan Stein, a short handed

(02:04:09):
goal for Leskowski, his fourth goal this season. The Badgers
had a two to nothing lead and then dominated the
second period about shooting the Wolverines eighteen to five. Wisconsin
would add on Ryland Moseley his eighth goal of the
year at seventeen to seventeen from Zach Schulz and Ben
Deckxheimer and then into the third period, Quinn Finley put

(02:04:29):
it away with a power play goal, his twelfth of

The Badgers a perfect four for four on the penalty
kill this evening and lynn Mark won seventeen of twenty
four face off. So lynn Mark is our number three star.

Uh.

Speaker 6 (02:09:46):
The third star was going to go with Kyle Kukanon
just to get the Badgers on the board. Yeah, kind
of get things rolling for them and first period was
pretty good for Michigan, with Badgers end up with the
one nothing lead. And then I love the way Daniel
Loatch played tonight. I mentioned him a few times. He
almost had a couple of goal. He was just was
so calm and the defensive zone and kind of whenever
things went haywire, he kind of seemed to be the
guy to step in and kind of stop that short.

Speaker 3 (02:10:09):
All right, so let's go, let's go launch. Then is
the third star, right, and yet Kuchin in the second
star and Scarfhony the one. All right, let's I'm just
gonna change it, all right, forget it all right, Let's
get to our energizing performance of the game, brought to
you every night by a lion energy, powering beyond for you.
The energizing performance.

Speaker 6 (02:10:27):
Oh that one was early in the second period. The
Badgers again had the one nothing lead. But Michigan played
pretty well in the first other than all the block
shots by the Badgers.

Speaker 7 (02:10:35):
But just twenty seconds in off a.

Speaker 6 (02:10:37):
Face off, Cody Leskowski does a little spin off the
face off, kind of just gets knocked down or on
his kind of on his knees and gets back up.

Speaker 7 (02:10:46):
I guess I'm making that part up. He wasn't on
his knees, but he spun.

Speaker 6 (02:10:49):
Around and the puck was right in his wheelhouse, took
a shot short side high, a beautiful shot, got the
Batterers a two goal lead on a shorthanded play, and
that second period was outstanding for Wisconsin and they kind
of took it from there.

Speaker 3 (02:11:01):
Yeah, it was nice. So Codyleskowski are energizing performance of
the game. Quite an effort here tonight. I think a
team effort is a good way to put it, don't you.

Speaker 7 (02:11:09):
I agree?

Speaker 6 (02:11:10):
The first again, then just mentioned the block shots fifteen
in the first period that equaled the team season high
for a game in just one period. And then Tommy
Scarfoni was excellent. Badger's got contributions from all over, shorthanded,
a couple of powerfulay goals, even strengthen and come away
with a four nothing to win.

Speaker 7 (02:11:28):
That's that looks pretty nice on the scoreboard.

Speaker 3 (02:11:30):
It does. Nice job tonight. We'll do it again tomorrow.

Speaker 7 (02:11:32):
Sounds good.

Speaker 3 (02:11:32):
Sure, that's Paul capel Bianco. We'll hear from assistant coach
Nick Oliver. In just a moment. Wisconsin a four nothing
win at Michigan this is badger hockey from Learfield.
