Speaker 1 (00:00):
Dude ee.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
They alostside Charlie Wills, our engineer, Dave mc cann and
Brian Freeman at a network studio.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
This is Matt Lafey.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
We welcome you to Wisconsint basketball as the Badgers have
four straight home games. It begins tonight as they take
on Central Michigan right now our national anthem, so two
non conference games left. After tonight, the Milwaukee Panthers will
come to town. Bart Lundy and company. Julian Swartz, by
the way, on the coaching staff, Charlie had a chance
to catch up with them a little bit Friday night.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
I love that guy.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah, one of the best, one of the best of
that absolutely and coach Lunda they do a really good
job with that, you know, with the turnover that you
deal with in that program. So we'll look forward to
seeing the Panthers here in eight days, and think of
speaking of the challenges Central Michigan under the Mid American Conference,
you have a new coach, an entirely new roster, twelve
transfers and three freshmen. They are four and eight, had

(00:48):
a gut punch loss. But man, the challenges for coaches
that are not in these power conferences, right I mean
every coach has it, no matter the level. But I
mean you come to town, you break some guys with
from Farris stayed with you.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
But Man's that's a that's tough job.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
That's a tough turnaround because you've got to be able
to blend. We're seeing it here for Wisconsin. You you're
blending all these new talents, new teams, figuring out everybody's tendencies,
and you're going to have more probably punches to the
face than you really want to see. But those kind
of games where they were really in it. They were
leading Northern Illinois. That was a great game. I got
to see that game. And again it's finishing for them.

(01:26):
If they can finish some of these games, they're not
very far out of winning. So I think you got
a really highly talented team, obviously a great coach. That's
gonna be a good challenge for Wisconsin.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
And as for the Badgers, they were not very good
in the first twenty. I guess Villanova they were really
good in the second twenty and not very good in
the last five. So as you know, you live this,
it's about tip to buzzer, right, absolutely, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
And what I remember coach Ryan saying that I really
locked into every it's four minutes at a time. When
you can do that and pull those things consistently and
then pull thirty five to forty minute games, you're unstoppable.
That's just what Wisconsin's hasn't been able to put together.
You know, you hear grumbles online, people are like, why
aren't they better? Because the talent, it's it's learning each

(02:11):
other and it's learning that consistency, and unfortunately that comes
in losses.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
So the Badgers tonight will be without John Blackwell then
unavailable tonight. He's here but not dressed and will not play.
So Hayden Jones will make his first start he's been getting.
He was getting little more minutes the other night, got
it there for eight against Vildanova. His coaching Staft's very
high on him. But you got two freshmen now, Alexis
Bilowskis and Hayden Jones in the starting lineup there, Charlie,

(02:38):
what's what's going through I mean Alexis now this is
his fifth start.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Hayden is first, you're a true freshman. What's going through
his mind?

Speaker 3 (02:46):
You think there's got to be because I know those
guys are competitors a. They're ready, but there's there is
a little bit of nervousness that comes behind that. I
remember some of my freshman year starting, but also mostly
in my sophomore year. It's nerve racking because you want
to get those first four minutes right. You got to
come out and be yourself. That's the hardest part of that.
You're trying to maybe beat don't be somebody else, be

(03:08):
you the reason you got out there, and then show
the coaching staff you deserve another four minutes.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
All right before we tip, Let's pause ten seconds for
station identification, ten for an IV. This is Badger of
basketball from lear Field. We are about set to go.
Good crowds settling in here on a Monday night with
the students on break. Part of the fun of games
at this time of year. You get some fans who
were here maybe.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
The first time.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
I mean we saw a young, young nine year old
Oliver here.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
That was amazing.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
I think he's going to graduate from high school next month, right,
I mean, just a mature.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Level for me doing this. I think he's going to
take over for Color. That kid was dialed in. He
was ready for his first game ever.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Oh, he was excited. Excited to be here his first game,
so he wants to be a Badger. And I said,
we'll see you in nine years.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Absolutely, And you're right. A lot of family here that
probably hasn't gotten to see these kind of games, and
the student sections more free, and it looks like it's
full of families, so it's gonna.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Be that's fun. We are ready to go.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Jeffrey Anderson, Larry Serado, and John Floyd are your officials.
Central Michigan, the Traveling Maroon and a little gold Trim
Badgers in a home light and the Cardinal Trim Bilaskis
Winter in the front line, Boyd Jones and Rode in
the back court. Wisconsin and Central Michigan Nicole Center in Madison,

(04:27):
lad who's trying to get back to their winning ways.
They would come in seven and four with setbacks at
Nebraska and then to Villanova in Milwaukee on Friday night.
Central Michigan coming off the heartbreaking buzzer beating loss at
Northern Illinois seventy four to seventy three, and we are

(04:49):
ready to go. It will be Nick Mullen Jumping Center
for Central Michigan and Nolan Winter for Wisconsin and the
Toss and the tap it will belong two Wisconsin saving
it was Nick Boyd on at tap to Nolan Winter
gets it back to Boy The more underway Badgers go
to our left here in the first half, man to
man for now the Central Michigan known and mix it

(05:12):
up and known to press as well. Here's Roady dribbling
kicking left of the lane. Who Dolan Winter brings it
to the top. Mullen defendant a throw to Andrew Roady,
he'll feed b Alaska's inside feed caught by Winter and
he flipped it up in in. He was in jail
there but directly under the hoop, got himself some space
and flipped it in.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
I love that little smile he had. He was like, Wow,
that worked. It worked well enough.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Central Michigan moving to our right to the first half
of Whitaker against Roady and an inside feed and Claire
Bow from the left block biscuit and rebound Wisconsin. Here
comes Nick Boyd throwing a Winter feeds Hayden Jones on
the right side. Jones against Whittaker baseline right in the lane.
Tried to get the cutter Boy pass picked off by
Mullet Right here comes out to the front court right

(05:56):
of the lane.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
For Central Michigan.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Turnovers hurt Wisconsin and that loss on Flade to Villanova
alling outside left, throwing at to Mario Adley. Badley outside left,
feeds fat fat Brooks at the top of the circle
into Whitaker feeds Claireball right of the lane, single coverage
Nolan Winter Laybell headed knock Leus gets a backshot clock
at five, Adley for three right side of a Roadie

(06:19):
backy are no good Hayden Jones the rebound bin and
a half gone by two nothing Wisconsin. Joe's throwing a
Winter high on the right, feeds Boy to the right wing.
Boy throws it into Winter mid post right now to
be Alaskas. He'll try three straight away, Yes, Sir, Alexis
vii Alauskas soon it's five nothing Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
That's a tough combination with winners inside and leaves that
open from Vilascas. I love it.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Alexis now eight of nineteen from the three point line
with this season. Here's Brooks off the right wing, drives
on Boy throws it up left, can miss but a foul.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
There's Darrell Fat fat Brooks will go to the free
throw line.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Nick Boyd with the was wondering or if you have
forgotten Brooks played at Michigan, Goes goes by fat Fat.
There's the nickname his father gave up Chubby Chiefs. They say,
so phat fat Fat Brooks. Give a name Terrell.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
He's got broad shoulders. Does he's going to be able
to get inside? I think that's the key here for
Boyd is you cannot let him get penetration or that's
probably going to be a repeat all night where his
free throw.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Is good and that gets Central Michigan on the board
five to one Wisconsin.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
We're about two minutes in.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
And also, you can't be mister Michigan and not.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Be a scorer exactly.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Sometimes get lost in the shuffle with coaching changes in
Michigan obviously an outstanding team this season.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
So that Fat Brooks.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Finding the opportunity and not pleasant, and he knocks down
both free throws, and there's that back toward pressure Andrew Roady.
They're trying to get him trapped. You're going to across
the midstrip to Hayden Jones. Jones that wanting to Roady
at the edge of the center circuit, setting the floor.
Fans are gribbled to the left side, gets it in
to be allowed.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Nice feed. Hayden Jones goes up and sends it down. Okay, oh,
young fella.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Hayden Jones with the flush and it's seven to two Wisconsin.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Two twenty into the game.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Alling at the top of the circle, hands off the Brooks,
guys On Boyd stops eats Clairebow in the paint. Back
to the basket. They work at the Mullen high and
the right and hand off the Brooks off the right wing,
stops of the free throw line.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Winter gets him on the switch.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Good b from Nolan eight to shoot Adlee against Jones
lost the dribble. It rolls right to clairebow mid post,
left one pump. Bilaskis knocked it free and he helped
up and it is a shot block violation. Good work
by Alexis bilowskis.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Ab with some tough defense. We were actually talking that pregame.
He just needed to create physicality without using his hands.
It's where he's getting in trouble this year.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Two forty five, gone by seven to two, Wisconsin. Nick
Boyd to the back court, throwing to Roady. They get
it across the timeline Roady takes the dribble to the
left wing, drives on Mullen baseline left, finds.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
The cutter Nolan Winter to the rim lay up good.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
There's a feeling the Badgers can get a lot done
at the Rim, and they're doing so early in an
early time out from central Michigan as it's nine to
two Wisconsin, we're three minutes in. Yeah, there is that size,
you know, Nathan Clairbow, there's seven footer you Greg mentioned
it in the pregame, Charlie, you mentioned it. Just looking
at him, he seems even taller than seven. But there's

(09:23):
not a lot of meat on the bones, and there
could be a lot available perhaps tonight at the rim.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
Fo you're already seeing that pretty early. Any switch, whether
it's ab, whether it's winter on them, you're seeing a
lot of physicality and he's coming out. He's like, I
don't want it. I don't want any of that noise.
So I think that's powerful Wisconsin. If they keep him
out on the outer rim. That's a great place for
Wisconsin to be.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
The one thing.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
We're just starting this game, but we're seeing some good
energy level partly for this Wisconsin too.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Yeah, so far, Yeah, both your freshmen are really showing up.
You got Jones being very aware of what that defense
is giving them. They're doing a lot of hesitation, but
they're also doing a lot of headge, so that's giving
the back door cut.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Somarrio.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Adley will bring it up the floor after the early
timeout from coach Andy Brockham up that that Brooks high
in the right left hand dribble to the top of
the circle, boy defending a feed for Whitaker. He's with
Roady outside left Jackson Whittaker to the top of the circle,
flips to athlete outside right shot. Clock is at twelve
at Lee to the top of the circle. Nowt of
the left elbow spins in the lane inside feed bawling

(10:25):
wide open.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
He'll catch it, he'll dunk it.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
A little miscommunication on the switch quickly.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
The other way is Andrew Roady. He'll drop at the
boyd top of the circle. Nine to four, Wisconsin, three
and a half minutes in. Roady bounces to be Alaskis
at the right block. They double him, whips it to
Jones left corner, fakes the shot, dribbles into the lane,
draws contact, clipped it up. No but a foul. They
get a Claire Val for the foul. Good work inside
from Hayden Jones. He'll shoot two.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
Yeah, wait to say, really present about not only where
their defense is, but just to be waiting for that
guy to create that contact. Good job by Jones.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Hayden Jones six at the free throw line this season.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Well, I don't think we talk enough about AB's passing ability.
He got a dub on the corner, whipped it a
far side corner, last played down right there. He found
Jones on the on the transfer across the court, So
just really good awareness when he's in the post.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
First free throw for Hayden Jones, hicks off the back
of the room and out no good. We'll see Austin
rap come in for the Alaskas, Jalen Campin coming in
for Central Michigan, and Keenan Garner as well. Camping appearing
in his third game. They originally thought he may be

(11:41):
on a path the red shirt, but he has appeared
in each of the last two and is in there
early on tonight as Hayden Jones. It's the second free
throw and it's ten to four Wisconsin. The sixteen to
fifteen left in the first half Tabario Adley and you'll
throw it to camping high on the right. Jones defense
camp and dribbles at the top of the circle, eating
Logan McIntyre three point threat for Central Michigan. Now it's

(12:09):
Adlee at the top of the circle. Shot clock is
at a camping dribbles off the left wing, pivots kicks
it back out the McIntyre Florida shoot and roadings of
a close check right side of camping baseline right pulls
pops just does beat the shock clock that hits the
mid range pull up.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
That is a tough shot to hit.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Ten six Wisconsin, fifteen forty left first half Hayden Jones
and he is guarded aggressively in Garner two aggressively gets
into Jones and the foul is called on Keenan Garner,
the six to six sophomore the Fishers, Indiana. As we
hit our first media time out of the night. See

of the first half, Wisconsin tenth, Central Michigan six, which
is a badger of basketball from hear Field consulead Central
Michigan fifteen thirty six left in the first half getting

(13:10):
it in the paint here so far.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
I love that starts to the game because that's where
they were weak on the first half against Villanova, So
starting that way obviously was a little bit of a focus.
And I have to say the freshmen are being very
poised and doing well here on the court early.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
And one of those freshmen, Hayden Jones sideline left, will
end bound and is deflected out of bounds by Adlee,
who was intended for Nick Woyd. Jack Jimickey on the
floor for Wisconsin right out Central trying to get after
it defensively, and Jones will try again, gets it into
Boyd at the center circle and Badgers get into their offense,

(13:43):
go to the left hand ribble to the line, kicks it.
Nolan Winter short baseline left jumper no good fighting for
the rebound, can't get there. Adley does ahead it goes
to Logan McIntyre left side of the front court feeding
athlete down the middle in the lane, pivots upright hand.
Good to Mario Adley and it's ted Ay Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
That's one of the things that Central Michigan's really good at.
His transition. Transition buckets, quick hits. They try to keep
you off guard, should.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Make you against backboard pressure. Long pass over the minstrip
to wrap open three on the left side. It's off
the right side eye are no good. Winter trying to
backtap it, but it's got grabbed by Adley.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Here comes Central Michigan a get in transition.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
Out through back and tire trailer three is good from
the right of the circle and the chiplewaws now lead
eleven to ten.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
There it is picking the pace up a little bit.
Here they're giving different looks right now. They're looks like
they're mixing up a little bit of a zone acrizone Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Noland, Winter up between the circles eleven ten, Central Michigan
fourteen thirty five left first half Jones doubled left wing
feeds wrap out the Winter opened three straight away good
Oly Nolan. Winter had been struggling for distance and then flyday.
He went four out of six and he nails one
here early on.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
Yeah, good inside out action there for the Badgers.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Thirteen eleven, Wisconsin, fourteen eighteen. Left in the half, I
can tire against Jennicky. I throw a gard barner off
the right wing, pushed it up over rap no good
rebound fought for. It's grabbed by Winter of Wisconsin. There's
cross court to Jennicky, right sideline to the front court.
A toss for Winter top of the circle flits the
Jones high on the left, Ayden Jones right hand send

(15:15):
over to Austin rapial hand off the Boyd, crowded by Claireball.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
A circle route as Boyd works.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Down the lane up left hand around it out, No
good Claire bow the rebound for Central Michigan and now
a lead fee to camping baseline ride god by Jones,
who fell down shout not the way by Winter. He
grabs it goes. Here comes Boyd two on one. Boyd
against Atley, takes it himself to the rim, pushed it up. No,
but Boyd was fout and Boyd will shoot two free throws.

(15:43):
By the way, you're about to come in for a
wisconcert has been something this staff has been kind of
talking about here in recent days. Zach Kinsinger is about
to check in and thus remove the red shirt. That
will be his debut as a Badger.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Momentarily, I'm excited to see him. He was a great
high school player. We've seen him at practice. He's a
great competitor. So hopefully gives that team a little bit
of juice for his free throw.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
For boy rattles out. So will Darlock coming in, Andrew
Roady coming in, and Kenzinger not yet? He needs boy
to make this free throw. Apparently thirteen thirty seven left
to the first half, thirteen to eleven, Wisconsin leading Central Michigan.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Free throw for Boyd is good.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
So now zach Kinsinger will make his Badger's debut. He
comes in for Nick Boyd hang man out of the
peer and yeah, I'm right with you there, Charlie. I'm
really eager to see what he can do now in
a game. He has been impressive in practice. McIntyre outside
right hedge on the screen from Garlock, turns it back
to Janicky, I throw to Brooks back in the game,

(16:50):
drives off the right wing in the lane, cut off
by Roady out the McIntyre. Good cover from Janicky knocking
loose and McIntyre gets it back. Whitaker against Kensinger now
Janicki gets him on a switch throw out the Brooks
five of the shack clack bat bad Brooks left lane line,
pivots pivots again, shoots over Roady and it's no good rebound.
Austin rapp Head. It goes to Roady, Roady on the run.

(17:10):
He'll throw to Kenzinger right corner. Three on the way,
it's off the rim, no good rebound, fat fat Brooks
and he gets bumped by Knzinger and there's the first
foul on Zach. Too good to be true. It's a
good look, I mean it was. Rody's just got such
a beautiful way about him.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
He's gone. He'd see the whole court and shoot it across,
you know, fifty feet across the court for an open
Kenzinger gay game. Good look for him, was a really
good look.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Twelve fifty five left and a half, fourteen to eleven Wisconsin.
Whittaker throws the Brooks and it's deflected out of bounds
by Rody along the left sideline in front of the
Badger's bench.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
And undescribed one of the better or probably the best
on the Badgers. Defensively, Yeah, so long he can get
into the passing lanes. He reads stuff really well.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
It's Greg Guard a couple of games ago. What what's
impressed to the most? And he mentioned the work the
way he's come up long way defensively. JENNICKI speaking the defense,
gets a clean steel Jack, feeds Austin Rapp. He'll try
a three straight away and knocks it down Austin raft
from distance seventeen to eleven Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
That's got to feel good for him. That's been missing
the last couple of years.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
It is he did not score against Villanova. Looks throwing
the Gardner out between the circles Kean and Gardner drives
on rap knocked the way, you look like garl I
got a piece of it. Now throwing it up his
Garner no good rebound to Wisconsin. Here comes Roady at
the right side of the front court. Roady hard left
hand dribble out to Jennicky, feeds Garlock at the top,
picked up the dribble and they give off the Roady

(18:37):
high the rights Andrew Roady against Garner. Roady penetrates in
the lane kicks to Kinzinger left corner.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
Three, it's off the rim. No good, Nick Mullen the rebound.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Eleven fifty five left in the half, seventeen to eleven
Wisconsin Whitaker left corner. There's in a fat fat Brooks.
Garlock trying to cut him off and does left block.
Feeds McIntire tries a three right corner, no good rebound
Garlock at it, knocked out of bounds by fat fat Brooks.
It'll be Wisconsin balls were at the under twelve media timeout.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
In the first town.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
So, Chari, you've seen some mix and.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Matching already with the lineup, so yeah, I like what
I'm to watch.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you got more of the freshmen getting
some looks. What I'm noticing is that defensive stuff that
coach Guard was talking about pregame. They're really bringing that tonight.
A lot of hands in the passing lanes. They're not
giving easy buckets. Everything's contested. And the other impressive thing
is even with the younger guys on the court, they're
getting down and watching different defensive structures by Central Michigan

(20:25):
and then picking it up.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
Yeah, always saying we're talking about Kinsinger, who's back on
the bench right now. But tonight and then the thirtieth
really important, be important for everybody.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
But for him. Good get your feet.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
What this is one speed of the game, all that
stuff at this level and then it really ramps up
obviously on January third.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
Yeah, you can practice, be a practice all star by
getting out here and getting the pace and the physicality
is another thing.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
And just break the backcourt pressure Jack jennicking to the
front court. He'll flip the dole in the winter, a
pass for Roady refeeds winter and the right pushed it
up and end ble in winter with nine early on
nineteen to eleven Wisconsin great feet eleven thirty left in
the first half.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Will Ashford on the floor for Central Michigan.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Sixty five sophomore of the Aurora, Illinois Now Brooks rotates
to Adley on the left wing, bid defending him. Ad
leave right hand, Riddle to the free throw line, squares
away jumper.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Off the left side iron. No good boy, the rebound
for Wisconsin.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Wait up the middle front port for the Badgers, left
of the lane against claireval goes through the lane, feeds
to Nicky three shot right corner off the rim. No
good Claire Vow the rebound for Central Michigan. But eleven
minutes left in the half. Nineteen to eleven Wisconsin. That
fat Brooks works to the right wing, stops, feeds Mullen
right at the circle across Cord Ashford quick past to
Adlee high on the left. Adlee feeds Brooks at the

(21:41):
right point, takes it off the wing, feeds Ashford driving
right of the lane. The Aids flips bank it in
will Lashford with his first points nineteen thirteen Wisconsin, ten
thirty eight left in the first half. Lloyd looks it over,
some pressure, gets it to Janicky. A bounce for Nolan
Winter to the offensive end and the Badgers can run
their offense. Let's just Bilauskas hands off the road. He's

(22:02):
trying to turn it to the top of the circle,
stops left elbow, feeds Winter. A flip for Boy to
the right wing. Boyd hard left hand ribble off the
wing in the lane and had it knocked away. Turnover Wisconsin.
Here's Tomorrio Adley up the left side line of the
front court. Rise on Jadiki stops at the left block,
finds the cutter. That's Brooks. Nice feed Claire about low
on the right, push it up and end the good points.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
Good ball movie by Central Michigan. I think what boys
got to take away on these post entry passes. You
got a seven footer, throw it up, don't throw a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
First points for Central Michigan's seven footer nineteen fifteen Wisconsin
Winter Open, straight away three too long, no good Barodi
the offensive rebound, drives to the cup, flips it up
and in twenty one to fifteen Wisconsin, nine to forty
left in a half Coustle points Yes, love to see that.
Ten paint points here for Wisconsin out of the twenty

(22:55):
one so far. Brook's outside right optand a little to
the of the circle stops left elbow bounces to Ashford
high on the left Jenniki defense, clairebel to screen. Ichford
kicks to Adleye at the right point. Badley Survey shot
clock at five in the mully catching along on the
right and he gets fouled.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
By Alexis Bielawskis. Yeah, it'll be the first on Ab.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
That's part of that defensive stuff. They need to figure
out when the balls on the week side or when
your defenders are on the weak side, like Ab was there.
He's got to be fully rotated because it's going to
take that pass in that movement away by falling.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Mull Of, a seventy seven percent free throw shooter, will
step to the line. Free throws miss free throws really
costly for Central Mission get on Saturdays.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Mullin hits them first.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
They shoot seventy one and a half percent as a team,
but they would meat on the bone and northern of
the bays seven to thirteen, including a one and one,
a front end miss that helps set the stage for
the buzzer.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Beating tip in those eat at you yes, Braidon Carrington on.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
The floor for Wisconsin sucker free throw Mullin in and out,
no good Nolan Winter. The rebounds was Winter, boyd Bilawskis,
Jones and Carrington the five of the floor for the
backers twenty one sixteen Wisconsin, nine oh five left of
the first half.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Carrington goes in a Winter one dribble low on the.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
Left, pushed it up contact, they played through it and
the shot has missed and then a foul inside is
going against clairevo looks like, well check it. They'll be
on Logan macattire. They say his first and number four
on the chip awas is Golden. Winter will go to
the free throw line nine points Vega ten for Nolan

(24:39):
Winter already four rebounds, Ndon Gardner coming in for Nick Bullen.
Great guard mentioning pregame about Nolan just the overall maturity
with him. I mean, he's on his way to a
seventh double double. Here, Tonatis hits both ends.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
Yeah, that's really what's taking his game to the next level.
And I think he shared that, and the pregame is
like he got fired up with that team as a leader.
They need to see that. That's so important to play
the full game and then see that emotion.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
Yeah, he was very emotional after the game and meeting
the media, kind of fighting through some tears kind of
takes away any doubt how much this guy wants to win.
And here's Whitaker throwing to athlete twenty three to sixteen Wisconsin,
eight forty two left in the havel adlee left of
the lane.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
And shot blocked by Winter. Oh and a foul called
high knees.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Jeffrey Anderson on the call there and Nolan speaking of
emotions showing a little bit there, Great Guardian, I'm real
happy about it.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
Either that is that's a terrible that's a terrible call.
It's a terrible call. That's nothing he can do. He
just missed the call.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
So if you're Nolan, you gotta just keep playing right.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Next, Yeah, you made a great play.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Next, Yeah, Badley with the first free throw, and he
left that short. He's just seventy five percent free throw shooter.
Transfer from Wayne State also played some junior college ball
as well. Twelve transfers on this roster. It's an entirely
new roster. Twelve are transfers, the other three are freshmen,

(26:12):
one out of two for athlete, and it's twenty three seventeen.
Wisconsin ree quarters press Carrington ribbles across half four. You'll
throw the Hayden Jones high and the right, eight thirty
left and the half six point lead. Wisconsin Jones retreats
a throw to Rap at.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
The top of them.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Try to hit Nick Boy to the left wing and
Logan mcaze excuse me, Logan McIntyre deflected out of bounds.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
He's lucky there, very lucky that was going out of bound.
That was definitely sailing.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Sixteen of the shot clock. Joones sideline left, will endbound
weight trying to get loose. Jones looking and the pass deflected.
Whittaker the steel Carrington chasing reverse layup, no good rebound.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
Garner pushed it back up and in.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
There's twenty three nineteen Wisconsin eight fourteen left in the
first half. Wisconsin turnover Winter left of the circle, throwing
the Hayden Jones on the left wing. Continue to be
very aggressive defensively. Jones against the seven footer. Claire Bow
stops at the free throw line. Rat feeds Nick Boy
to the right side. Boy to the bounce to rap

(27:15):
back to the basket, posting a Gardener draws the double
skip past Carrington side steps left.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
Three in the air. Good for Braden.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
Carrington back in there for Wisconsin did not play Friday
night and just hits a triple twenty six to nineteen.
The Badgers seven forty left to the first half. Jackson
Whitaker high on the left, gets this Clairebout screen Broy
to McIntyre outside right, Shakes goes into Gardener.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
They'll try to slip a pass to the Claire Bout.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
He couldn't handle it, but they'll say it was last
touched by Wisconsin.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
The Badger players like to see a review.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
Yeah, they take.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
A look, and I think I think they're going to
We're gonna have a media time out. His assistance really
popped off the chair. I think they're gonna take a
look at this, but we'll take break in the meantime.
Badger fans, if you're listening to this right now, it's
time for a reward. Rewards your full time fandom with
a high school Bodello. Bodello proved for full time Badger
fans for the Rail Transport broadcast Table seven thirty left

(28:14):
in the first half Wisconsin twenty six, Central Michigan nineteen.
She's Badger Basketball for lar Fields Constin keeps their challenge
Wisconsin Basketball brought to you by rail Transport for every mile.
If you're truck driving career, learn more at rail dot jobs.
You may have heard the tail end of that announcement
from Jeffrey Anderson. The Badgers won the challenge, so they'll
get the ball in Wisconsin. Will have one more challenge available,

(28:35):
provided it has timeouts available.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
So worked out.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
It did work out. When when you see Joe Kravanoff
jump about two feet off the bench, you.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Don't get indicator, it's very good saying with reef Reef
showing some sneaky quickness.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
There you are watching it still has the man still
has it.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Austin Rapp will be in bounding Central Michigan showing backcourt pressure.
They're trying to double team boy Badgers. Get it across
and now here's Carrington for three right corner and he
hit it again. Grady Carrington good from the left corner
a moment ago, and now good from the right corner.
Twenty nine to nineteen, Wisconsin, seven to fourteen left in
the first half, Camping throwing the McIntyre high on the left,

(29:17):
Carrington defending, mulling the screen little heads from Winter. Now
mulling with a shot fake and three dribbles off the
left wing, kicks to McIntire. He'll spin in the lane,
pumps twelve foot a away is good.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Bos mc tire with five.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
That is a tough shot to hit.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
And made it look pretty easy. Twenty nine to twenty one, Wisconsin,
six forty eight left in the half. Winter hands off
the board, slashes off the right wing, stops left block,
puts it back out of there to Rody high on
the left, and Andrew takes it out to the big
court logo. Roady draws kicks Carrington another three a heat
checked there and that rattles out. No good for the
left side. Camp in the rebound. Here's fat Fat Brooks

(29:56):
up the left sideline to the front court. Brooks driving
left of the lane, wrap around, layup, no good. Carrington
trying to fight for the rebound, ran out a room.
It'll be Central Michigan ball, and then Nathan Claibaw will
check back in pull the chipplewalls.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
He will check in for Keenan Gardon.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
I like what Central Michigan is doing. They're trying to
force Wisconsin into really uncomfortable positions. Not that they can't
break that press, but Wisconsin' shooting quick baskets. That's the
whole reason you're running this.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
You want to break myself. It is Wisconsin ball. Here
I was last touched by Central Michigan. Here's Rap dribbles
off the right wing. Pascus deflected now regains control flows
to Winter. He'll toss a Roady between the circles high
screen from Winter. Roady angles a past a boyd left corner.
Three is off the right side. Eye are no good
at a whistle inside Fighting for the rebound was Nolan

(30:44):
Winter and he got fouled on the play.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
Yeah, great job. He just fought all the way around
that and maul and had to grab him in order
to keep him off the rebound.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Thick mull him with his first foul. Team found number five.
Jack Jennicki will check in for Brayden Carrington twenty nine
twenty one, Wisconsin six oh four left in the half.
Boyd baseline right ble inbound, throws at the wrap. He'll
leave it for Rody High on the right. I'll try
to flip it to Nolan Winter, and he wasn't looking
for it. He goes off his hand and out of bounds,
and that's turnover number four for the Badgers. Points off

(31:20):
turnovers eighty four in favor of Wisconsin. Chipwall's guilty of
three miscues. Rowling hands off the camping. You'll flip the
clairebout top of the circle. A pass for fat Fat
Brooks gets it in the clairebel push it up right
of the lane. Good for the seven footer height eyes
four twenty nine to twenty three Wisconsin. Boyd against pressure
gets it across which the Janicki feeds. Winter turned down

(31:41):
the three leads it for boy to the left side.
Boyd drives off the left wing, goes to the cup
of the layup is good. Showing that extra here. First
bucket for Nick Boyd thirty one twenty three Wisconsin five pot,
twenty three left in the first half. McIntyre leads it
for Claire Bout at the top of the circle. You'll
flip the fat fat Brooks of the right wing. Brooks

(32:03):
drives off the wing, darts at the camp and left corner.
Three is off the rim, winter the rebound full the Badgers,
and here comes Boyd on the run. Left lane line
goes to the cup layup, No but a foul man.
Nick Boyd's showing that energy and he'll go to the
free throw.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
Really yeah with him because he's got that extra gear.
I feel like you have to attack him early and
get him off that spot because if you give him
that distance, he just he's gonna take it and blow
it right by you.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Sure he was or he just did. They get back
and tire for his second foul.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Nick Boyd one of two at the free throw line,
eighty percent at the stripe coming into the game and
Hents down the first is well. Garlock will check back
in for Wisconsin and for Austin rap I mean.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
Winner could mess around here and get a double double
by halftime.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
He could eleven points six rebounds right.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
Now active again, another sign of his maturity.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Second free throw for Boyd is around it out, No good.
Keenan Garner the rebound thirty two to twenty three Wisconsin
five minutes left first half to Mario Adley back in there,
throwing the Brooks out between the arcs. Jack Jinnicky will
defend Brooks, throws to Garner back on the floor of
the Chiple offs feeds Jackson, Whittaker. Boks baseline left, goes

(33:19):
cross court to Brooks, drives off the wingstop to the elbow,
feeds Adlee.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Good. Look at the three straight away off the left
side of the rim.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
No good.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
The raybound Garner brought the ball down Garlock trying to
tie him up and they get a foul called Rody.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
Now he was not.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
It will be the first on Roady.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
And Zach Kinsinger will check back in for Wisconsin, replacing
Nick Boyd, Keen and Garner. Baseline left will inbound and
the Winnaker it goes off his hands and no, they'll
say it was deflected by Wisconsin. I think you're going
to burn that second challenge here.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
In the first half.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
You're successful with the first challenge. You get one more
and that's it. You're four thirty nine left in the half.
Thirty two to twenty three, Wisconsin leeds Central Michigan inbounced
past to Tomrio Adlet Adley at the mid court logo
will throw the Brooks on the right side. Knsinger defense
looks with the bounce for Claire Bout at the top

(34:25):
of the ark one dribble almost walk hands off to
Adley four to shoot. Adlei leaves. Garner tries a three
right of the circle and hits it. That's the first
May three this year for Keenan Garner, the software out
of Fisher's Indiana. Thirty two to twenty six. Wisconsin had
a bad pass. Janicky stole it away by Garner. Janicki

(34:45):
is back and Janicky knocked it away. It's loose. Brooks
is there low on the left, miss the chippy rebound
Garlock and here comes Andrew Roadie for Wisconsin. We ha
a good recovery after a mistake, and now Knsinger baseline
left retreats.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
Is it up the roading Roading gets found by fat
fat Brooks.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
That'll be found number seven on Central Michigan and the
first on Brooks.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
And we'll take a break fow were you're at the
Coles Center.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
Wisconsin Basketball brought to you by UW Help Sports Medicine,
the healthcare team for the Badgers of proud sponsors of
UW Athletics from the Rail Transport Broadcast Table. Three fifty
one left to the first half, Wisconsin thirty two, Central
Michigan twenty six. This is Badger of basketball from Learfield.
It was consint Department of the Transportation reminds you to

(35:32):
always drive sober zero in Wisconsin. Together we could save lives.
Learn more at zero in Wisconsin dot gov. Central Michigan
is scrappy bunch.

Speaker 3 (35:41):
Here.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Three fifty one left to the first half, Wisconsin thirty two,
Central Michigan twenty six.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
Yeah, their coach has to be pretty happy. Not only
did they make an adjustment the second half of this
first half of mixing it up full court press, getting
the Badgers to be a little sporadic, but what I've
noticed is their bench has really produced. It. It's come off,
they've hit key shots, they're playing good defense. So that's
that's something that this team could take as a positive

(36:08):
going into halftime.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Here sixteen bench points for the Chippewas nine for Wisconsin.
Andy brought him up. Does he uses his bench liberally
and it's not just tonight. He's done this throughout the
course of the season. Andrew Roady will be at the
foul line for a one and one. He is eight
of ten at the line this season. And he left
it short rebound, tipped out of the mounds last touch.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
By Will Garlock. So Wisconsin. No great shakes here in
the first half of the foul.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Line, just five out of nine a little flat thirty
two twenty six Wisconsin three forty seven left in a
half to Mario Adley with the throat to Whitaker, knocked
away by Roady and out of bounds and chip Awas
will keep it. And part of that defensive talk you

(36:55):
were benching with Andrew Roady, Greg was saying, you know,
it took Andrew a while into his college days, a
couple of years of Virginia. You're gonna play better defenses.
He just knocked another one. Yeah, ball out of bounds,
out of the hands of Whittaker, but that length of
his he just wiry strong too. In bounds past to Whittaker.
Whittaker high the right against Rody ice spring Gardner Roady

(37:18):
works over it. Now Brooks outside left with Kinsinger defending.
Brooks starts at to Whittaker seven to shoot, now into
Claire bal backing on. Gar Lock kicks at the Brooks
three to shoot, two to shoot contested baseline jumper no
good and rebound Garlock. It'd worked by Kinsinger defensively wait.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
To keep him in front of him.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
Jack Janicki throwing to gar Lock and the freshman gets it.
The fellow freshman Kinsinger bounces the gar Lock right of
the lane and he gets fouled by Whittaker and Will.
Garlock will get a one and one. So the true
freshmen now have all had minutes of course. Throughout this season,
we have seen it from Garlock, Jones, and Bulawskas Zach

(37:59):
Kinsinger getting his run now. The second leading scorer is
high school with the pier all time. The leading scorer
is his brother Johnny, who's having a good year at
Illinois State, averaging about twelve points a game. Redbirds are
good in the Missouri Valley.

Speaker 3 (38:13):
Off to it.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
They have a ten They have ten wins already this season,
a couple in conferences. Garlock hits the front end of
the one and one.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
But I've liked about Kinziger coming off the bench. He's
doing a great job keeping the score in front of him.
Yeah again, Brooks can really get around that corner. He's
just not giving him the edge.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
Second free throw from will is too long, no good.
The rebound a Whitaker thirty three to twenty six. Wisconsin
coming up in the final three minutes of the first half,
Samarrio Adley ripples stops a bit post right, gets clairebau
bobbles gets it back, turns up right hand back room no.
Roady snaps away the rebound for a Wisconsin. Roady up
the left side line of the front Port, blows off

(38:52):
the left wing, darts it to Jack Jimnicki he'll scoop
at the roadee high and the right. Roady sends to Garlock.
One dribble feeds Kinsinger baseline right. Jack now retreats hills
the dribbled, nice pass out to Jack Janick baseline left.
Nice fake goes up, got block, but got fouled as well.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
That was a good fine by the freshman, Wasn't it
a great fine? And wait to stay patient too panic
when you're in the corner on that dead stop. That's
a team's.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
First fall on whitaker. Jack Janicky, you'll be at the
free throw line. He'll shoot two.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
And that's usually where you're gonna get with a really
high performing state player. Is yeah, court smarts right, not panicking.
Know where you are, know where your other defender or
your other teammates are in those open positions. So yeah,
beautiful play. He's coming in for two three minutes at
a time and he's he's earning.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
That goes out now, Boyd is back in there. Janiki
hits the first free throw. One more coming for Jack.
His free throw is on the way and that's good
as well. In the first two points tonight for Jack
Janicki thirty five, twenty six Wisconsin with two thirty left
in the first half to Mario Adley throwing a garner.

(40:05):
He's off to Jalen Camping back in there for Central Michigan.
A feed for Nick Mullen and it's past Adley high
in the right Adley against boy The feed for garner
left of the circle, hands to to Logan McIntyre. Shot
clock is at six McIntire between the circles beads. Mulling
got by Garlock and then Garlock reaching and he has

(40:26):
called for the foul.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
Got beat and then you reach out with that arm
and has called for the foul.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
Andy Blanckamu getting a little bit out of the coaching
box there and John Floyd, one of the officials saying
get back in there, get back in there, I mean,
fuck him. As you mentioned, had a very very good
run at Fairris State, a really good athletic program, plays

(40:54):
prego football over there as well. McIntyre high the lefties.
Garner at the top rotates the mullet shot bag from
three and then just lost. The dribble goes off his
hands and out of bounds. Garlock started to go up
and it looked like Charlie he was able to kind
of get some semblance of control again, maybe a break there,
but easy to go up on those, especially if you're
a freshman, right.

Speaker 3 (41:14):
It's very easier on those, probably when you shouldn't. But
he's got to remember he's seven feet tall.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
Yeah, exactly, gone feed stage of seven footers, nice feet
in an all in winter for the catch of the
easy money.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
But great pick and roll action right there, and of
course you're you're going to receive nice little dimes from Roady.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
Thirty seven twenty six, Wisconsin, one thirty three left in
the half mull and high the right, throwing to to
Mario Adlete, circles to the top of the arc, ribbles
right of the lane, backing on board one Pump throws
it up man and and one. He got boyd up.
So Wisconsin going for these shot fakes and great guards.
Scene enough, he's gonna get kissing her back in there.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
Yeah, first of all, you already got Let him get
deep enough to five feet within the basket and then
you're creating silly fowls again. Just stay there, take the contact,
make him shoot a tough shot.

Speaker 2 (42:04):
Where we've seen the badger's bite on those ball face.
That's what you guys, you oul right, great guard, You've
done it to the other guys all those years, shot too.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
That's because we were slower man.

Speaker 1 (42:18):
The truth comes out.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
Rethrow is a miss rebound tap from Garlock the Winter
thirty seven to twenty eight, Wisconsin, one to eighteen left
in the first half winter outside right, throwing a ROADI,
Roady sends it off the right wing of feet of
gar Lock wraps it left side for Jackie Dickney on
the wing up top. He goes, feeds Winter, tries to
go high low and it's too high one of Garlock.
It's sables out of bounds and that's turnover number six

(42:42):
four Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (42:43):
Yeah, he knew it right when he let it go.
He knew he just overthrew it.

Speaker 2 (42:47):
Thirty seven to twenty eight the Badgers. We have one
minute left in the first half scenario. Ladley sets the
four for the chipplewalls the boll An extend it feeds
balling straight away three too long, no good rebound Garlock
for Wisconsin and passed for Roady and Roady to the
front court. Gets it started with Garlock. He'll throw it
to Jennicky high on the right left hand. Ribble from

(43:09):
jack top of the circle flips to Roady. Roady between
the rings fifteen.

Speaker 1 (43:13):
On the shot clock. Roady pushed out.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
That leaves Garlock open low on the right, throws it up,
got it hit count to the foul well Garlock with
the end one Badger is back out in front by eleven.

Speaker 3 (43:24):
Great job by Garlock not only set a real physical screen,
but to go right nose to the rim. Great job
by the freshman.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
Fat Fat Brooks with his second foul. Garlock with three
points here in this first half. Four rebounds as well
for the freshman out of Middleton. Free throw from Will
is good. Here good, young fella, Here you go. Will
Ashford coming in for fat fat Brooks. Thirty four point

(43:52):
three seconds left in the half, forty to twenty eight Wisconsin.
So he got the four point three differential game to
shot clock because Adley will walk her across half court
Kensinger defense. Adley high on the right pounds and dribble
at the culver's logo Kinsinger and getting into him a

(44:12):
little bit. Adley will drift it to the left side.
Eighteen seconds left in the half. Adley continues to work
the dribble ice cream clare Boy. Adly still pounded baseline,
left wheels around Garl like them, dribbled an office foot
and at a bounds to Wisconsin with nine seconds left
in the first half.

Speaker 3 (44:31):
They didn't fight, I love it, just stayed in that action,
stay on your side and could switch off at that
last second because of the ball screen action there by
Central Michigan. Really good pick up by Will Gardner.

Speaker 2 (44:43):
Wrapping Carrington in and bounce past Roady in the back court,
not Dewey a steal for Camping five seconds left in
the half, Ashford for three right corner. No good rebound
rap with two with one. First half will come to
an end, so the Badger's dodge one off a little turnover.
But great guard is not the most happy. You're not

(45:04):
the happiest guy in town right now. His team leads
by twelve. But he'll have some corrections to make, right,
absolutely they will. Most of it's gonna be taking care
of the ball. A little sloppy here coming into that
first half, so easy adjustment to make here at halftime.
Halftime here at the Cole Center, Wisconsin forty Central, Michigan's
twenty eight coming up our Culver's halftime report.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
This is Badger basketball from lear Field.

Speaker 2 (45:29):
We get ready for the second half at the Coal Center,
Wisconsin forties Central, Michigan, twenty eight. After tonight, the Badgers
will have some downtime and then they'll get ready for
the Milwaukee Panthers coming up on the thirtieth Here at
the Cole Center, a six o'clock a six o'clock tip
here at the Cole Center. Good crowd here on a
Monday night, three semester break underway. But as you mentioned before,

(45:53):
the tip, Yes, folks who maybe don't get in here
all that often, so pretty good energy here in the building.
And the Lucky Bill's family is here.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
I got my son, Grant, Charlotte, my wife Crystals here
all right, able to see everybody talk a little bit.
Always fun, take photos to the whole deal, the whole deal. Yeah,
and I love bringing typically when we go and I'm
not on the radio, my son and I heat is
a super.

Speaker 1 (46:17):
Fan like okay, yelling into it, jumping up and down.

Speaker 3 (46:21):
I wonder where he gets that from.

Speaker 1 (46:22):
Yeah, I had no idea. No, I could only try
to only try to guess.

Speaker 3 (46:27):
I don't know if we want that, probab, we don't
want to do that. A lot of six sevens and
susses and ohio is coming out.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
So six seven that's such a that's such a bit.
That's still a thing. That thing has legs.

Speaker 3 (46:40):
It's all here in my house. Yeah. Or that motion
that Dave's doing with your hands.

Speaker 2 (46:43):
Up and down for the winner's game they had they
hit that number is not yesterday. It was a couple
of games ago and the place erupted. But I guess
that's happening everywhere these days.

Speaker 3 (46:53):
It really is.

Speaker 2 (46:56):
Second half underway. Central Michigan will get the first possession.
Chipwa's moving to left, fat bat Brooks out high, Claire
by the screen. Brook stops at the right elbow. He'll
throw to Jackson, Whitaker right wing feeds. Mullen rotates to
Adlee outside left right hand tossed for Brooks, he'll feed
Whitaker stamps off the three left side, in and out.
No good, halfway down, popped out and winter the rebound.

Speaker 1 (47:17):
That's eight. Now for Nolan.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
Here's Nick point he had tripped up or maybe just
tripped over his own feet, goes out of bounds, and
that's turnover number eight four Wisconsin out of bounds to
Central Michigan and Greg Guard saying, you sure he wasn't
tripped as he was he was talking with Jeffrey Anderson
there and it looked like he had clipped inadvertently Boyd

(47:39):
had clipped Mullen there. So nonetheless, it was constant turnover.
Here's Brooks off the bounced right elbow, bit range Jay
no good boy. The rebound full of the Badgers opening minutes,
second half, twelve point lead, Wisconsin. Peydon Jones making his
first career start here tonight for Wisconsin for the injured
John Blackwell.

Speaker 1 (47:58):
A throw to the Alaskas feeds.

Speaker 2 (47:59):
Winter rotates to Roady left quarter three splashed and Andrew
Rody with a triple.

Speaker 1 (48:04):
The lead is fifteen.

Speaker 3 (48:05):
I think that's what's so deceptive about him is that
all the first half he was to the lane to
two lane and then they come out soft hands. Bam
hits a three right in their face and.

Speaker 2 (48:14):
Then had gone by second half, forty three to twenty
eight Wisconsin. Jackson Whittaker off the high screen from Claire
Bau picks a left side for Fat Fat Brooks. Brooks
throws through. Whittaker tries a three left corner. Good this
time Jackson Whitaker's first points. He's a thirty five percent
shooter from the three point line. Boy gets bothered at
the backboard, double team gets it across the midstrike, the

(48:35):
Winter hands it back to Boy. Forty three to thirty one, Wisconsin,
minute and a half gone by second half. Hayden Jones
left of the circle, he'll throw a Winter rotates to
Roady on the right side. Roady to the top LEAs
it for Bilaska's high low nice scrab winter and he
got fouled by fat Fat Brooks preventing the bucket. But
that's three fouls now on Brooks of Central Michigan.

Speaker 3 (49:00):
What fans probably don't understand is Whittaker if he can
get going for them, he can get a hot hand
and streak out some three pointers really fast. So Wisconsin's
got to be aware of him on the court.

Speaker 2 (49:10):
And one of those fair state transfers coming over to
Central Michigan with his coach, Andrew Brokolo and.

Speaker 3 (49:16):
A Muskegan, Michigan kid. And I know that because part
of my family when growing up, they lived in Miskeigan, Okay,
so got to hear a little bit of whisperings from
the family on the inside, say he was a heck
of a shooter in high school.

Speaker 1 (49:29):
Little scouting report.

Speaker 2 (49:30):
I know who knew rightre you go small world jailing
camp and has checked in now for Central Michigan. Andrew
Roady hard right hand ribbled down the lane scroups with
up right hand back on are no good rebound knocked
out of alms last touch by Central Michigan. It was
the school you looked at, right.

Speaker 3 (49:46):
It was It was Yeah. It was ball state Central Michigan,
and when Wisconsin entered it was kind of over at
that point, but you know, it was being up in
that part of the country that they were a really
good program in the nineties.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Who's Andrew Roady left of the lane. Whittiger defends Roady,
gets rid of it to Jones, feeds Winter, flips the
Boyd outside right. Boyd all nice feed Bilaska's for three
right side, bangs off the ren No good arena Hey
Jones fighting for it, and he draws the foul. How
about that work by the freshman drawing the foul The

(50:21):
seven footer Nathan clairebaw actually done.

Speaker 3 (50:24):
Yeah, and what's great about that is that that persistence
to it. Claire bel had no other choice but to
grab him to try to take that ball away. Good
job by Jones, great hustle.

Speaker 1 (50:36):
Play second foul.

Speaker 2 (50:37):
And the seventh footer who comes out coming we're inbounding
now is Boyd into bi al Askis gets it back
to Boyd right corner against Garner, who's in there for
the chipwalls. Boyd retreats outside right at the culver's logo.
These are for Winter tries. The three left of the circle.
That's short, no good be Alaska is trying to keep
it alive. Goes off his hands into the hands of
Camping up the floor comes adly for Central Michigandy trying

(51:00):
to back down on Roadie right of the lane, backing, backing,
and he threw it away and went right between Camping
and McIntyre.

Speaker 1 (51:08):
Charlie Wilson's position. He was ready for it's ready. He
just didn't didn't get enough on that second bounce. You
know he did right in front of us off.

Speaker 3 (51:15):
The table show I got good. These good So were
you gonna shoot it? Oh?

Speaker 1 (51:19):
For sure?

Speaker 3 (51:20):
For sure? From my chair.

Speaker 2 (51:23):
Two and a half minutes gone, second half forty three
thirty one Wisconsin. Nick Boy draws, kicks winter shot pick
off the right wing, goes to the cup, runs it up,
gets foul. That's one of those when you're noling, you're
gonna you know you're gonna get hit.

Speaker 1 (51:36):
Doesn't matter. And now he earns two free through.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
Absolutely. I loved it. Great hesitation ate the guy off
the floor, and he knew he had a wide open
lane to the hoop. And again typically guys go in
and they leave that ball open. He went with that
shoulder that opposite shoulder and got that body contact.

Speaker 2 (51:53):
Nick Mullen, the oldie of the foul. Winter's first free
throw rules off no good. Mullen is twenty five years old,
a senior at of Chestertown, Indiana. You're wondering how twenty
five year old's playing college basketball. Well, he worked after
high school, didn't go into college right away, right into
the working world, and then went into college.

Speaker 3 (52:16):
When I saw that doing a little prep, I was like,
twenty five. Huh, there's only Mormon kids that I was
used to see in at those ages.

Speaker 2 (52:22):
Winter hits one out of two forty four thirty one Wisconsin,
not quite three minutes gone, second half. Logan McIntyre outside left,
throwing to Adlee high and the rights.

Speaker 1 (52:33):
Adley to the line.

Speaker 2 (52:34):
Adley hits the brakes in the lane, bounces the garner
right of the lane, five to shoot backs on. Winter
turns up airball trying to save it as Adlie and
it's out of bounds to Wisconsin. I guess I would say, though,
to close the story on Mullen, we used to always
say in college or eighteen to twenty two, It's more
like eighteen to twenty four these days.

Speaker 1 (52:53):
With you know the COVID year and medical hardships.

Speaker 2 (52:57):
Here's boy driving the lane, runs it up and then
with the left hand you see guys who are like
Dick Boyd is a sixth year senior. We have seen
seventh year seniors and beyond these days in college athletics.
Forty six thirty one, Wisconsin, three and a half minutes gone,
second half, McIntyre dribbles to the right elbow. Double team

(53:17):
the Alaskis and Roadie trying to pin him in and
McIntyre gets it out of there with ten of the
shot clock.

Speaker 1 (53:23):
Needs help.

Speaker 2 (53:24):
Finds Garner baseline right looking for the cutter Camping making
the catch.

Speaker 1 (53:28):
Nice pass. Camping will catch it and lay it up.

Speaker 2 (53:31):
And in the lead is thirteen for Wisconsin and he's
Roadie's splitting the defense gets to the front. Coarding gets
fouled in the process. I think that was Adley who got.

Speaker 1 (53:41):
Him, and it was Kamari Ladley who's second.

Speaker 3 (53:44):
Found what we just saw in that defensive structure there
is you got down to seven seconds on the shot clock.
You have to lock that down if you're gonna go
to the next level. You can't give back door cuts
and get lazy. Right there you saw Boyd. His head
got turned to the right. The basket.

Speaker 2 (54:03):
Voyd out right now is Andrew Roady will run the
show'st to bil Askis Austin. Rap in there Hayden Jones,
Jack Jenicky rounding out the five. Jones high and the right,
goes to rap between the arcs. Feeds Jack Janicky left wing,
refeeds wrap low on the left, push it up and
into the left hand.

Speaker 1 (54:19):
Nice work wrap on the roll to catch him the finish.

Speaker 3 (54:21):
Yeah, really nice job, deflecting his position as he came
in and finished with his left hand.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
Forty eight to thirty three Wisconsin fifteen forty two remaining
Jalen Campin being harassed by Jack Janicky. A throw to
McIntyre high on the left. Andrew Roady defends McIntyre as
a knock loose, gets it back Roady into his business.
Right now here's fat fat Books fades, flips right, elbow

(54:47):
short and rebound a rap for Wisconsin head. It goes
to Jack Jenicky. Janicki feeds Hayden Jones baseline left driving reverse.

Speaker 3 (54:55):
Layup is good.

Speaker 2 (54:56):
He counts out of foul o the transition work and
the freshman out of New Zealand with an and one,
and we've got a break in the ass. It here
at the Call Center Badger fans Toenight's game is brought
to you by the official products of Wisconsin Athletics Group
ub lots of Montsi Pizza, Clemens, Broughtson Hotdogs, Old Dutch Chips,

(55:16):
and Pepsi on Wisconsin for the Rail Transport broadcast table
fifteen eighteen remaining, Wisconsin fifty, Central Michigan thirty three. This
is Badger of basketball from lear Field. Erbout was called
for that fallum moment ago on Hayden Jones and one
opportunity for the freshman as the Badgers leads Central Michigan
fifty to thirty three with fifteen eighteen remaining. Hayden at

(55:40):
the free throw line trying to finish this off and
he does not off the heel of the rim.

Speaker 1 (55:44):
No good. Nick Mullen the rebound for.

Speaker 2 (55:46):
The Chippewas seventeen point lead for the Badger's longest advantage
of the night. Mcatire outside right throws to mull on
top of the circle, a hand off to Camping. He
flips to Garner right wing, refeats. Camping tosses the Mullen.
He'll give off the fat fat Brooks left of the lane,
books in the paint, kicks it out to Garner off

(56:06):
the right wing, and he got fouled by Austin. Rapped
like Garner was starting to lose his balance, but wrapped
with the contact. That will be his first and the
first of the half on Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (56:16):
We talked about that earlier, coming in with the hands.
You got your hands back and he runs into You're
probably not gonna get that call.

Speaker 2 (56:22):
You are not, Logan McIntyre and bounds to mullen least
line right. Hands back to McIntyre. Good clothes from Janicki,
a feed for Brooks. He'll toss the camping on the
left wing. Campon sends to Mullen, puts it on the
deck against Bilowskis, kicks out to a camping roadie with
the defense.

Speaker 1 (56:39):
Shot clock is at three.

Speaker 2 (56:41):
McIntyre flips to Brooks to the line and the lane
runner banked it wide left shot clock violation.

Speaker 3 (56:48):
Garner got up abe elbow. Yeah, he's still rubbing that thing. Uhud.

Speaker 2 (56:57):
A little love from the Lithuania with waiting and the
Alexis Bilawskis roadie checks out braidon Carrington Is in five
and a half minute's gone second half, fifty to thirty
three Wisconsin. The quarter press on again from Central Michigan's
Ayden Jones will dribble across half court and the Badgers
get into the offense. Jones bounces to Rap, whips to

(57:19):
Carrington along the left sideline, braidon. A toss for bil
Awskis high low Rap catching slam dunk Austin Rapp sends
it down.

Speaker 3 (57:27):
Much better, pass very direct right to him, right where
he could catch and go right up.

Speaker 2 (57:32):
Fifty two to thirty three Wisconsin. Six minutes gone, second half,
Fat Fat Brooks high lefts eats mull on top of
the circle, hands it back to Brooks, switch it through McIntyre.
Here's to garner. A toss back to McIntyre gets crowded
by Rap. A feed for Mullen, sends it back to
McIntyre left hand, ribble in the lane and the point
shot just got swatted down by Bilaskas. Now wrap a

(57:55):
lead feed to Jack. Jinicky skips to Carrington and his
three gets blocked right into the hands of Hayden Jones.
Low on the left feeds Janicky shot fake side steps
three in the air off the rim, no rebound weak
side by Carrington, takes it out to the right wing
and reset for the Badgers up by nineteen. Here in
the second half, Rap right corner, Rap puts it on
the deck baseline right scoops it into Janicky, whips to

(58:17):
bi Alawskis with the pass make and then gets fouled
by Logan McIntyre. And that'll be his third and already
team foun number six on Central Michigan with thirteen nineteen
to play.

Speaker 3 (58:28):
Now, Badgers are doing a really good job coming off
the first five minutes, and they already this first or
the second five minutes, are doing a great job of
staying the same consistent pressure. Great job on the offensive side.
And look at the defense that we're watching here tonight.

Speaker 2 (58:42):
Roll Garlock and Zach Kinsinger in the lineup for Wisconsin,
Wrap Janicki and Carrington rounding out the five. So let's
see where some of this offense comes from. Is Carrington
between the circles, throws up the Kinsinger a little zone
from Central Michigan, Janicki inside out catching shooting at three
is rap heady answer, And there's your answer.

Speaker 3 (59:03):
A little box in one, and that is just not
enough to stop Rap.

Speaker 2 (59:07):
Fifty five thirty three, Wisconsin, thirteen minutes to play. Brook's
outside right Kinsinger defense, Brooks hard left handrivile in the lane, Fades,
floats from ten short rebound tipped gathered by Garlock, and
now Carrington up the left sideline for Wisconsin. Carrington hits
the brakes, throws the Garlock between the circles. He eats Rap,

(59:28):
throws to Carrington. He tries a three left side that's
off the back of the room. No good offensive rebound. Janicki,
which is the Kinsinger, feeds Rap. He'll try another three.
He's not shy. It's too long, no good rebound. Nick
Mullinus Central Michigan and off the fork of the Chipowa's
athlete in a hurry, feeds Whitaker tries a three right
corner that's off the back iron and an offensive gooseball

(59:48):
foul here coming up against the chip Awaws.

Speaker 3 (59:52):
Thinks Clebo right in the back.

Speaker 2 (59:55):
Yeah, that's gonna be his it's his third foul I
was giving him now that should be his fourth.

Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
Then it is.

Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
With twelve twenty to play, fifty five thirty three, and
the Badger's already in the bonus and Will Garlock will
go to the free throw line. Garlock with four points
and five rebounds and eight minutes of playing time.

Speaker 3 (01:00:15):
Yeah. Again, we're seeing good production out of all the freshmen,
especially Will Garner. I love his balance this time. He
usually looks like a little two sped up, but he's
doing a great job keeping poised.

Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
There's the front end of the one and one Central
Michigan secures the rebound. Here's Brooks looks have passed a moment,
thought about the three darts at inside the Clairebeu instead,
and he got fouled by Will Garlock. That'll be the
second on Will Man.

Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
Those hands, those hands, it's keeping back boys. He'll learn
the the easiest call in basketball is your hands are
right in his back. He's so big. That's the thing
that you're coming from high school you're in Division one basketball.
That that big poise, having your big body open. It's
going to take him a minute to get used to
being okay with.

Speaker 1 (01:01:00):
That blayrebell out.

Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
Garner is in and bounce past the Mullen twelve oh
nine to play fifty five thirty three Wisconsin. Here's tomorrow.
Adley starts to drive kicks the Brooks bounce past Mullen
left of the lane. A feed for Gardner left corner,
dribbles out to the wing, gives it up the Brooks
seven to shoot. Boks at the left point, wrap the finning.
A feed for Adley driving against Carrington. Carrington digs in

(01:01:22):
and a shot blocked along two blocked Mike Carrington. Good
defense from Brandon Carrington. And here's Austin rapped to the
front court, you know. Toss to Carrington high on the
right and they startral Michigan stays zone. Carrington surveys talk
between the circles about virginicky whips to wrap right quarter three,
got it, Austin rap busting the zone and it's fifty

(01:01:44):
eight to thirty three Wisconsin, with eleven twenty five remaining
time out Central Michigan.

Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
I wonder when he sees his zone, if he just
starts licking his lift he does.

Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
Yeah, wrap three out of five from distance here tonight.
This will be a full time out horsepower to amplify
your willpower capability, to kick start your courage their standard
and build four top board trucks and adventure ready for
a SUVs visitor. Wisconsin Ford Store today for the Rail
Transport Broadcast table. Eleven twenty five remaining Wisconsin fifty eight,

(01:02:16):
Central Michigan thirty three. This is Badger Basketball fld lear
Field eleven minutes, twenty five seconds remaining here at the
Cole Center for the Rail Transport Broadcast table. We'll tell
you this for is Wisconsin fifty eight, Central Michigan thirty three.
Bullstll Rap hitting a couple of threes, busted up that zone?

Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
Is it that? Yeah? They can't leave him. I mean,
I know you're running the zone to get some of
that ball movement and create some pressure points. But when
you're leaving Wrap wide open by himself, that's a dangerous
thing for his zone. The other thing is pretty productive.
I mean, thirteen points in thirteen minutes, five rebounds. It's
good work. It is good work, especially coming off the game.

Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
You have it bounce past Tomorrio Adley. We throw a
Brooks on the right side. Looks takes the top of
the circle. Now dribbles inside the left elbow, a pass
off to Jackson Whittaker as Janicki defense. Whittaker at the
top of the key, slips it inside. Garner catches good
spin move on Kinsinger couldn't finish, and a whistle inside,

(01:03:16):
a foul is called and this will go against Zach Kinsinger.
You're just checking us out, Yes, I'm saying, Kinsinger getting
his first run, making his Badger's debut, taking off the
red shirt. Here, we're due for an under twelve media timeout,
so we will take it right now. After that several
seconds of basketball activity, we'll tell you. With over thirteen

oh eight remaining Wisconsin fifty eight, Central Michigan thirty three
and Yes, the offense good for Wisconsin, but Charlie in
the second half, the Chipwalls have missed eight of their
first ten shots.

Speaker 3 (01:04:26):
Yeah. I think the great thing a Wiscons's playing better defense,
like much better defense. And in stringing nine minutes, we
talked about this right before the half. If you're going
to play at a next level, you gotta have ten
fifteen minutes at a time that you're playing this And
I know it's tough. You're up twenty five. This next
ten minutes could be brutal, but also this is a

(01:04:48):
great space to say, you got eleven minutes left, you
got four days off. We need full effort because this
is going to get us prepared for the Big ten season.

Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
Badgers will have Jimickey, Kinsinger, Rap Garlas Carrington on the floor.
Badger's playing without John Blackwell tonight. He is here but
injured and not available to play. So Hayden Jones got
his first start, Zach Kinsinger getting his first run officially
as a Wisconsin Badger. Keenan Garner at the free throw line.

(01:05:19):
He's fifty seven percent for the season, shoots two and
is no good with the first. Is it's spun out.
Garner with five points here today another one of those
transfers from Indiana University Indianapolis. Second free throw is good.
Fifty eight to thirty four Wisconsin. Backcourt resistance here from

(01:05:42):
Central Michigan. Carrington takes a look at it, throws to Kinsinger.
Zach gets it to the middle and through the midstrunt
means Janicki throws to Rap. He'll catch release splash a
three for the right corner. Man does not waste a
lot of time.

Speaker 3 (01:05:55):
No, he gets it. It's going up quick corner. Look
at that smile too.

Speaker 2 (01:06:01):
Sixty one thirty four, Wisconsin, ten forty five to play
Brooks high lot broken up by Rap. They wanted the
Aliyu and Rap having none of it. Here's Kinsinger left corner.
Brooks closes out or pass out to Carrington, which the
Rap fakes the three, takes it off the wing, throws
at Kinsinger, fakes the three, Zach lowing the left nice feet,

(01:06:22):
Janicki up and end Jennicki from Kinsinger sixty one thirty four, Wisconsin,
ten eighteen. Remaining Adley on the left wing feeds Bull
and he'll try a three left of the circle.

Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
That's off the room and out.

Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
No good rebound tips and coming up with it as
Bradon Carrington for Wisconsin ahead, it goes to Jack Jenicky
at the top of the key feeds Kinsinger lines up
a three left corner boocket set Kinsinger for a triple,
his first points as a Badger. Had another time out
taken by Central Michigan.

Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
Beautiful basketball right now here by Wisconsin. Congratulations Zach. That's
got to feel good.

Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
He had a smile his teammates and coaches. Yes, sir,
another box to check as Jack JINNICKI is able to
find Kenzinger in the corner and he hits one from
distance ten o one to play.

Speaker 1 (01:07:16):
We'll keep it here.

Speaker 2 (01:07:17):
Sixty six to thirty four, Wisconsin leading Central Michigan.

Speaker 3 (01:07:23):
I think Coach Guard and the coaching staff has to
be pretty impressed here tonight with the four freshmen getting
court time doing well, not a lot of like turnovers
of sloppy play. They actually look like they belong. Yeah,
they do.

Speaker 2 (01:07:36):
It's one of the things that we'll visit with uh
with Coach Guard after the game. But if you and
I have touched on it, they you know, Zack Kinsinger,
he's got a little bulldog to him. Oh yeah, we
mentioned this even you know in the early games. Man
likes the weight room. He's got some meat on his bones.
Is somebody who's not gonna shy away for much. And
they're spotting his minutes getting in there, you know, maybe

(01:07:58):
three four a time that. But he's doing some nice things.
He's on the bench. Now, Nickoyd back in there, growing
up the four comes fat fat Brooks for Central Michigan,
throwing to Will Ashford high in the right Aashford against
Andrew Roadie kicked the Jalen Camp in the left point
ice screen. Claire Bow back in there for the Chippewas.

(01:08:19):
Now Brooks baseline right, and he is found by Carrington.
Is Brook's able to take Braydon baseline the first foul
on Carrington, fourth team foul on Wisconsin, the first personal
on Carrington. Badrew's up by thirty two. Now sixty six
thirty four in bound past Claire Bow right, block backs

(01:08:40):
on Winter and a feed to the cutting Mullen slashing
along the left base line and he'll catch him. Finish
sixty six thirty six Wisconsin. Nine and a half minutes
to play. Roady finds Rap on the left side, rap
against Claire bau skips at the Carrington right corner four
to three good their three of the nine for Braidon
Arrington they get sixty nine thirty six Wisconsin. Eleven hits

(01:09:06):
from distance for the Badgers tonight, leven out of twenty four.
There's Brooks off the left wing, throwing the Ashford left corner,
feeds Clairebell high on the left.

Speaker 1 (01:09:15):
He'll throw the camp and.

Speaker 2 (01:09:16):
Rotates the Brooks outside right, Fat fat Brooks left hand
ribble top of the circle, right hand toss, Mullen refeeds
Brooks shot clock at seven Ashford left wing, the baseline,
the fade away mid range off the side of the
glass and the hands of Boyd on the run has
wrapped to his left.

Speaker 1 (01:09:32):
Boyd to the line down the lane and he gets
fouled by fat fat Brooks.

Speaker 3 (01:09:38):
He's so fast, it's so crazy. Do you think he
can go from the big ten on the court down
to the hoop in three dribbles? That is just that's lightning.

Speaker 1 (01:09:48):
Speeds, fun stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
Jalen Camping with a foul his first team's Keith Nick
Boyd gets a one in one. Boyd with six points tonight,
two out of four at the the left hander is
good with the first free throw. Alexis Biliouskis coming back in.
Hayden Jones as well. Lappin Carrington will come out sixty

(01:10:17):
nine thirty six. Wisconsin's second free throw for Boyd is
good and they get seventy to thirty six Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (01:10:26):
This rotation for Wisconsin getting all these guys in is
really going to help them if they have any injuries
or get late in the season and need those bodies.

Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
Carrio Adley with a mid range jay off the right elbow,
seventy one to thirty eight Wisconsin.

Speaker 1 (01:10:40):
Eight and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
In it's remaining boy dribbles off the left wing, stops
the free throw line, pivots, bounces to Bilowskas.

Speaker 1 (01:10:46):
They give off the Hayden Jones. Jones sends to winter
All pass for boy to the right wing. Boyd runs
her back out front.

Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
They'll crossover, stops the Foulon kicks it to Bilowskis Dad's road.
He tries a three side back and I are no good.
Jalen Camp of the rebound for Central Michigan and it
gets found on the back court by Hayden Jones, his
first team's fifth.

Speaker 4 (01:11:09):
He was cuts and calls.

Speaker 3 (01:11:12):
It's something you're probably saying too. But when you've got
this rotation like this, they had such a beautiful, like
twelve minute stretch, and now the offense is a little
crunchy because they're not used to having this rotation. So
they got to settle in a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:11:25):
Here up the floor is Tomorrow Adley coming up on
the final eight minutes here at the Cole Center.

Speaker 1 (01:11:31):
Adley drives in the lane.

Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
Goes up, got fouled is Adlee has a strong take
and he'll go to the free throw line with ad
one to play.

Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
He was cuts and calls Andrew Roady with his second foul,
let's eat six line for Central Michigan.

Speaker 2 (01:11:49):
Tomorrow your own back tomorrowo Adley averages ten points a game.
He has five or make that seven so far tonight.
First free throw is good, good, seventy one to thirty
nine Wisconsin with eight oh one remaining.

Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
Second free throw.

Speaker 2 (01:12:11):
Coming up for Ade It's in the air and it's good.
So a thirty one point lead for Wisconsin under eight
minutes to play. Noland Winter there for the Badgers, throwing
to Andrew Roady a bi Alaskas scream. Roady moves to
his right, asses off left wing to Hayden Jones. Jones

(01:12:32):
whips at the Roady left of the center circle, Thy
out front shot clock at ten. Jelaskis feeds, boy boy,
we'll contact. They play on shot clock at five. Boyd
against the seven footer, got by him and the lane
lower the left, throws it up and in off the glass.

Speaker 1 (01:12:46):
That's just good work from Nick Boyd.

Speaker 3 (01:12:49):
The ability to slow down. It looked like it was
in slow motion on that eurostup. Great job, great body balance.

Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
Seventy three to forty Wisconsin, seven to twenty remaining Badlee
top of the circles. WoT the clairebout screen now Wolves
catches up, got it counts in a foul and if
the Claire bow was six, you'll have a free throw
coming up when play continues. There's to time out here
in Madison, Badger fans choose chill and celebrate responsibly. Twenty

(01:13:17):
one means twenty one core Is Light, choose chill twenty
twenty five. Core Is Brewing Company, Golden Colorado at Falcons.
Wisconsin is assessed to in Hrew Roady and that's his third.
We'll take a break. Seven to fifteen remaining Wisconsin seventy three,
Central Michigan forty two.

Speaker 1 (01:13:34):
This is Badger basketball from their field. So all things colle.

Speaker 2 (01:13:38):
Sports, including live games and talk with Serious XM College
Sports Radio Channel eighty four and streaming on the Serious
XM happ seventy three forty two wis constin Leeds, Central Michigan.
Seven minutes and fifteen seconds to play eighth. The clarebout
the free throw line, trying to finish off of three
pointy flay. You know Roady picked up the foul going

(01:14:00):
into that media timeout in the seven footer from Zealand
Michigan the three years of Fairs state before coming over
to Central Michigan with his head coach. And the free
throw is good and the lead back to thirty four
Wisconsin Boyd in the back court, camping resistant.

Speaker 1 (01:14:17):
The boy get to the cross. Boyd to the line.

Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
Boyd left lane line, go around Claibel if he's Hayden
Jones dribbles off the right wing, turns to back to Boyd.
Boyd against the seven footer baseline right.

Speaker 3 (01:14:27):
Whit's it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:28):
The Winter rotates the Roady Rody goes cross court for
Boyd open.

Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
Three right side off the back of the rim. No
good Roady.

Speaker 2 (01:14:34):
The offensive rebound bounces into Winter and Nolan gets fouled
by Camping how much than the sixty three Camping could
do theirs? Or we fout him and he'll make one
with the foul road.

Speaker 3 (01:14:47):
He can see stuff that, like I was like, is
he gonna try to filter that?

Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
True?

Speaker 3 (01:14:51):
Little un just knife it right through. It's such a
slick passer.

Speaker 2 (01:14:57):
Winter fourteen points in eight rebound tonight for his free throw,
is Good up the more boards to get him what
would be his seventh double double of the season.

Speaker 1 (01:15:10):
And the question is how much longer will he be
on the floor.

Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
Here with the Badgers in control? Nolan hits him both.
So it's seventy five forty three Wisconsin. Soamio Adley going
the Clearboult top of the circle, hands back to Adley
right lane line stops the block.

Speaker 1 (01:15:28):
He's McIntyre with a shot.

Speaker 2 (01:15:29):
Bake with cover by Roady, is really picks up Camping
now mulling between the circus, rolling with the toss for
Adley left side, all on the high screen. Adley bobs
off of it mid range, knocked the way. Oh, they
got a foul and Nolan went here and got some ball,
but little body as well. Nolan's had Actually it's actually no,

(01:15:50):
it's not not.

Speaker 3 (01:15:55):
Okay, he put his hand out on it. I think
it was just blocking the passing.

Speaker 1 (01:16:02):
So it's four on Roady and Tomorrio. Adley is at
the free throw line.

Speaker 3 (01:16:07):
And he makes the first.

Speaker 2 (01:16:10):
Jack Janicki coming in for Roady. Jack's brought some energy tonight.
He has seven assists in this game to go with
four points.

Speaker 1 (01:16:23):
Second free throw is good.

Speaker 3 (01:16:25):
The Janicki were he used to seeing. Yeah, energy, rebounding
loose balls.

Speaker 1 (01:16:29):
If you can get some points.

Speaker 3 (01:16:30):
Break.

Speaker 1 (01:16:30):
But there's a lot of other things he brings to
the party and he is touched on it.

Speaker 3 (01:16:34):
There.

Speaker 1 (01:16:35):
Jericky with the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
Finds Noland Winter flies to the gold slam dunk assists
number eight for Jack jan seventy seven forty five Wisconsin.
Was six minutes to play. There's Adley's shovels at the
camp and low in the right and the layup is good.
Righted that one through seventy seven forty seven Wisconsin, five

(01:16:57):
fifty remaining the boyd outside left. Boy drives off the
wing contact and he throws it up and going to
the floor hard. When Nolan Winter and he's grimacing as Boyd.
When Boyd actually made that shot, we'll see he's campaigning
for continuation that I don't think he's gonna get. But

(01:17:17):
the bigger concern now is is Nolan Winter. It's sure
he's okay here. This looks like he needs a moment.
Red Newhart, the Badgers athletic trainer, watching him from a
distance right now, is Winter gets up and he's limping off.
The night may very well be done. We have five
forty six remaining. Taking a look at it looked like

(01:17:43):
he just turned his right foot.

Speaker 1 (01:17:45):
There is off his ground.

Speaker 2 (01:17:49):
If there's a time for a little layoff, this is it.
Nolan now will be escorted up the tunnel. Brent Newharth,
he's been a very busy man here for recent days.
Nick Boyd hits the first free throw. Well always say

(01:18:10):
this no matter who the athletic trainer is, and Brent's
been in this role for a while. Now you we say,
I don't want to say your name, and if it's
Henry Perez, Gero Andy Wintersteam before that goes, I don't
want you to say my name. But unfortunately Brent's been
a little busy. Both free throws are good.

Speaker 3 (01:18:27):
But you have such an excellent staff, Oh for sure.
For sure.

Speaker 2 (01:18:32):
There's Sadly at the top badly against Austin Rapp. Inside feed,
Claire bal throws it up. He got it and counts
it a foul on.

Speaker 1 (01:18:41):
Bill auscis.

Speaker 3 (01:18:43):
That that's just the senior showing the freshman how to
seal that side off right there. He just got caught.
When he gets a little bit of more court time,
he's going to realize when a guy's that deep near
the rim, just stick your butt into him and run
him to the out of bounds, like, don't try to
arm battle him, just push him out.

Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
One seventy nine, forty nine Wisconsin. Will Garlock comes in
for Alexis. They're about with nine points tonight, sa mega
ten as he hits the free throw seventy nine to
fifty Wisconsin, five point thirty remaining. Nick Boyd threw the

(01:19:25):
mid toward Logo, throws to Austin rap after the feed
for Hayden Jones, he'll drift up topees Garlock ilow past
Night's pass, Rap catches layup good.

Speaker 1 (01:19:37):
Garlock sees the four pretty well too. He can deliver it.

Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
Eighty one to fifty Wisconsin with five oh eight remaining,
Here's Adley pull up jump left elbow, short rebound Hayden
Jones for Wisconsin. A lead feed to Jinnicky goes cross
court to Nick Boyd. Boyd off the left wing, Boyd
low on the left, push it up, got black, got
it back. Boyd retreats. Now he's open. He'll say why
not takes the three that spins out? No good rebound

(01:20:02):
tip to Clairebell of Central Michigan.

Speaker 3 (01:20:04):
Or you know, reset your offense. But I means, yeah,
you could off allans three. I mean.

Speaker 1 (01:20:11):
It's a new day, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (01:20:13):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:20:16):
Garner on the right side, throwing the Brooks top of
the circle, rotates at the Whittaker feds Adley left corner
chat clock at eight. Adlee loops at the Clairebelt turn around.
Baseline left jump is good, little mid range with the
big man eighty one fifty two Wisconsin for twenty to
play mcfoyd against fat fat Brooks to the front court.

(01:20:37):
Kenzinger will check in. Next opportunity for Wisconsin. Jones baseline
left drives two defenders cut him off and look at
the Boyd rotation.

Speaker 1 (01:20:45):
Janicki lines up a three right corner that's off the room.
No good Jones.

Speaker 2 (01:20:49):
A tip ball loose gathered by Jackson Whittaker of Central Michigan.
Whittiker up the middle to the front court, leaving now
throws to Garner, whops it inside. Clairebolt Catches finds the
cutter Garner to the rim block with a foul as
Garter sent to the floor. Three throws coming up after
the other four. Media time out, so we'll take a break.

(01:21:12):
Gown to basketball brought to you by Rail Transport for
every mile if your truck driving career. Learn more at
rail got jobs three to fifty two remaining wassconsin eighty one,
Central Michigan fifty two.

Speaker 1 (01:21:22):
This is badger basketball from lear Field.

Speaker 2 (01:21:26):
Time to spotlight Tonight's best of the game, brought to
you by Old Dominion Gredeline. Old Dominion Freightline works hard
to be the best of the game, and it is
proud to be the official.

Speaker 1 (01:21:34):
Freak carrier of Wisconsin Athletics. I think, I think winner.

Speaker 3 (01:21:41):
Yeah, I agree, yeah. Overall, really solid game, blocks, passes,
eight rebounds. What is he had eighteen eighteen to finish tonight?
I mean, just an overall game for twenty six minutes
of play to have that kind of production, that's that special.

Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
Rolled his ankle a few minutes ago, but I think
his service is no longer needed tonight. The Badgers won't
play again until the thirtieth, So time can be your
friend right now if you're binged up in any way.
Same goes for John Blackwell, who didn't play here tonight.
By the way, Jack Janicki has eight assistant this game.

(01:22:17):
His career is young, but it is a career high.
Previous high was three in the game at Minnesota last season.

Speaker 3 (01:22:27):
Yeah. To see the bench be able to produce how
they did tonight with thirty eight points off the bench.
You know, we talked about it. You got a lot
of young guys that we're gonna get opportunities here tonight, Jones,
not that Janicky's a freshman, but to see Kensinger, Garlock
rap all those guys coming off the bench and then
produce like that, that's a really great. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:22:48):
First free throw good for Keenan Gardner. Is Gardner beg
your pardon? Second free throw no good? Austin rap the rebound,
He'll throw out to Zach Kinsinger getting his first run
tonight hit a three earlier here in the second half,
Kinsinger out high feeds Garlock throws to Hayden Jones, which
the rap. So you got three freshmen and a sophomore
on the floor right now for the Badgers, and actually

(01:23:10):
four two sophomores you count. Jennicky is a a shot
inside of partially block, but a foul as well. Free
throws coming up here for Wisconsin. With three thirty two
to play, they get fat Fat Brooks for the foul
on Hayden Jones. That's the fourth on Brooks. Well to

(01:23:30):
check out, that's his fifth. I beg your pardon, he
has fouled out. He finishes with two points tonight, three
thirty two remaining. So the young'ins out there for Wisconsin,
the freshman and Kensinger, Jones and Garlock, sophomore, Austin Rap
redshirt sophomore Jack Jenicky. First free throw is too long

(01:23:54):
for Jones to be intriguing to see. And we know
the world we're in a college athletic but Wisconsin has
long been an outstanding developmental program. And you got five
guys on the floor, and you've got a chance to
develop here. We'll see what the long term is. But
all these guys, they bring a little something to the party.

Speaker 3 (01:24:14):
They really do. Yeah, a solid corps. I mean it
can be here for a really long time, and all
guys that could, you know, play solid minutes as they age.

Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
Second free throw good eighty two to fifty three Wisconsin,
with three twenty five remaining. Jalen camping outside left Cayden
Nation in the game. Now for Central Michigan. Here's Adley
throwing a mull on top of the circle. If he's
Logan McIntyre and he'll try a three left of the circle,
he'll drain it. I can tire with his second three

(01:24:43):
eighty two fifty six Wisconsin for three zero five remaining.
Astin Rap hands off to Jennicky Janicki against McIntyre. Jack
goes off to Garlock, beats Jones on the left wing.
Jones being pushed outside by Nick Mullen, now backs off
a bit. Jones survey shot clock at ten. Jones dribbles

(01:25:04):
off the left wing, swoops to the rim and shots blocking.
Then taken away by Nick mullen and here it comes
Adley ahead. The McIntire drops it back to Adley, takes
the three drives by Garlock to the cup and the
layup is good. Eighty two to fifty eight, Wisconsin, with
two and a half minutes to play. Well, if you're
Andy Broncoma, you want to see your team to play

(01:25:25):
this out in too. Central Michigan's credit. It's working hard
to feed inside Garlock at a Janiki out to Kensinger
three shot right corner off the rim, once and through
shooters bounce for Jack, excuse me for Zach Kinsinger his
second three of the game.

Speaker 3 (01:25:42):
Oh Soft.

Speaker 2 (01:25:44):
Eighty five fifty eight Wisconsin. Two minutes remaining here at
the Cole Center, Adley left side goes in a mullen
this double team Boston got it back now. Nation tries
a three left of the circle that he drills Kayden
Nation six to seven Junior out of Peoria, Illinois, eighty
five sixty one Wisconsin. I've been at forty five remaining.

(01:26:06):
Greg Guard's gonna clear his bench here in a moment.
Hayden Jones left of the lane for those at the rat,
He'll try three straight on back rim. Didn't get the
role that Kinzinger did. It's out no good the Central Michigan.
The rebound camping drops at the McIntire to the free
throw line, pull up jump rattles out no good wrap
the rebound one twenty five to play eighty five sixty

(01:26:28):
one Wisconsin. Greg Guard will take the SubTime out here
because he wants to get Isaac Gard in the game.
Jack Robinson and Ricardo repping.

Speaker 3 (01:26:39):
Overall full played game good, very consistent. They have to
be proud of this tonight. Going into your break.

Speaker 2 (01:26:49):
Kensinger and Hayden Jones stay in the game for Wisconsin.
Jack Robinson sideline right and bounced to Isaac Guard. He'll
throw to Kenzinger out between the repy the highest screen,
a pass for Jones into Greppe bobbles turnover. Wisconsin. Nation
up the floor for the chipplewalls. Ayden nationed high on

(01:27:09):
the left rowing to Adley. He'll try a three straight
on short rebound Kinsinger for Wisconsin. Final minute here in
Madison eighty five to sixty one Wisconsin. Kensinger on the
left wing the seven foot are defending. Kensinger spins it
out to Robinson, feeds Jones at the right point. Jones
drives off the wing, jump past Kensinger, fees Robinson.

Speaker 1 (01:27:28):
He'll try a three.

Speaker 2 (01:27:29):
Got it Jack Robinson for three eighty eight sixty one
Wisconsin with forty nine seconds to play. Great Paul movement
by wiscons Say, it's fun to see a lot these
guys do most of their work on the scout team.
I'm getting some run here late, making it happen. Here's
camp and baseline right throws it out left corner. A

(01:27:50):
three from Brooks. No good those Jordan Brooks fat fats
brother rebound cleared by Wisconsin. Got a twenty eight seconds
to play Kensinger left lane, line feeds Grepe off the
right elbow. Reppe puts it on the deck, goes to
the cup and lays it up and it's way too hard.

Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
No good.

Speaker 2 (01:28:07):
Tampon comes down with it for Central Michigan. Working against Jones.
Poles pops right elbow, no good Robinson a rebound A.
We're down to ten seconds left. Zach Kinsinger will dribble
out the clock and the Badgers will go into a
little holiday break with a convincing win on the home
floor here tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:28:25):
Yeah, very well done, super consistent. They have to be
proud of themselves. They didn't give him anything easy, so
good job by Wisconsin Tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:28:32):
Final scorer Wisconsin eighty eight, Central Michigan sixty one.

Speaker 1 (01:28:39):
Before we throw it to a commercial break.

Speaker 2 (01:28:40):
Let's pause ten seconds for station identification, ten for an ID.
This is Badger basketball from lear field. Badger's shoot nearly
fifty four percent for the field tonight, and break this
one open relatively early and cruise on in to an
eighty eight to sixty one victory against Michigan. Charlie and

(01:29:01):
I are back with the Wisconsin Ford Dealers postgame show
in a couple of minutes. This is Badger basketball from
their field. Night's work for the Wisconsin Badgers tonight as
they get ready to head into the holiday break. Eighty
h sixty one. Wisconsin defeats Central Michigan. Nolan Winter eighteen points,
eight rebounds, Austin Rapp eighteen points, seven rebounds, three assists tonight, Charlie.

Speaker 3 (01:29:22):
Great game by him again. He struggled the last couple
of games, and to come out like that, be ready
to shoot, be ready to participate. He didn't give up
like we were talking about it earlier. Tends to be
not very good on the defensive side tonight. Didn't give
those easy buckets away. So improvements.

Speaker 1 (01:29:38):
Yeah, it was just more energy all around with this team.

Speaker 3 (01:29:41):
Whole team.

Speaker 2 (01:29:42):
Yeah, we see the starting the first start for Hayden Jones.
He has switched four rebounds. We see Zach Kinzinger make
his Badger's debut. Pretty good night's work for him. Six points,
a rebound, a couple of assists in this game, all
in twelve minutes of work. Getting he's getting your feet wet.
So speak now and now he'll be out there again
on the thirtieth. But you can see where the coaches were.

(01:30:05):
You know, yeah, I've been thinking about this for a
little bit. He's just like, you gotta get in there there,
and they did.

Speaker 3 (01:30:11):
They did, and he did a really nice job, really consistent, easy,
He made open shots, played great defense. So when you're
when you're able to do that and put eight to
ten to twelve minutes, I think you got twelve minutes tonight.
Just to be able to do that gives your coaches
a whole lot of confidence about that decision.

Speaker 2 (01:30:28):
Badgers get the win here tonight, eighty eight to sixty
one over Central Michigan or Wisconsin Ford Dealers. Postgame show
continues in a couple of minutes. This is Badger basketball
from their field. We continue with our Wisconsin Ford Dealers
postgame show as the Badgers defeats Central Michigan tonight eighty
eight to seventy one to Mario Atley led the way

(01:30:49):
from the Chippewas. He had thirteen points, saying the six
assist in the game. Nathan Claibow, they're big man, they're
seven footer. With twelve points tonight, Central Michigan chat four
twenty one percent for the field, five is seventeen from
deep and twelve of seventeen at the free throw line.
Was constant nearly fifty four percent from the field, forty

(01:31:09):
two percent for three. They came in averaging nearly eleven
mad threes per game. Charlie, they get thirteen tonight and
not so hot at the foul line. Fortunately tonight that
wasn't a big deal. Seventeen of twenty six. But the
thing here, twenty nine buckets for Wisconsin, twenty five assists.

Speaker 3 (01:31:28):
That's a big deal.

Speaker 1 (01:31:29):
That's good.

Speaker 3 (01:31:30):
That's a really big deal. That means you're just not
getting the shots that you want, but you're sharing the ball.
I mean, we said it several times during the game
that the movement of the ball, whether it was Roady,
whether it was Boyd, whether it was Jones, that ball
was moving all over the court and that's that's tough
to defend. I remember being out there trying to slide
back and forth and back and forth. You can only

(01:31:50):
do that so many times before you're going to be late.

Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
And another thing to and again. It's all we understand
its relative central. Michigan is starting over with an entirely
new roster. The chip are now four and nine. But
the Badgers we mentioned they were a little sloppy of
times in the first half. They in the first half
of the turnover they had seven of them. They only
had two turns in the second half, and that second
turnover was really late, very late, so they were much

(01:32:14):
better secure in the ball.

Speaker 3 (01:32:15):
Yeah. Yeah, they did a nice job adjusting that in
the second half, and we had talked about it just
before we went to break that. Now go again. You
got to keep another consistent half. And I want to
say they put thirty at least thirty or thirty five,
because they I think they started something with five minutes left,
but thirty five minutes super consistent basketball. They cleaned up

(01:32:35):
the defense, they cleaned up the turnover. So again, a
great way to go into the break.

Speaker 2 (01:32:40):
All right, Badgers win it tonight, eighty eight to sixty one.
When we continue, we'll take a glance at the TDS
out of town scoreboard. Back in one minute. This is
Badger basketball from lear Field. The Badger's Defeast Central Michigan tonight,
eighty eight to sixty one. As we continue with the
Wisconsin Ford Dealers postgame show, you take a glance some

(01:33:00):
of the out of town scores powered by TDS. Scored
big at TDS dot Com with fast, reliable fiber Internet,
TV and mobile phone for home and business. Earlier tonight
that at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana, the Hoosiers defeated
Sienna eighty one to sixty the big rivalry game. Illinois
just dropped the hammer on Missouri tonight, Sheila and I

(01:33:21):
thumping the Tigers ninety one to forty eight. Washington and
San Diego just getting underway and looking at some top
twenty five scores. Top ranked Arizona leading with Thune forty
nine thirty five. They are just getting underway in the
second half. A bit of an eye opener going on
as tenth ranked BYU leads Eastern Washington by just five

(01:33:41):
points at the break, fifty three to forty eight. Number
twenty three Georgia all over West Georgia one oh three
to seventy four. Virginia ranked twenty first to Hammer's American
ninety five fifty one, Number twelve. North Carolina coming off
a thrilling win over the weekend against Ohio State, no
sweat tonight over East Carolina ninety nine to fifty one.

(01:34:01):
There were seventeen Kansas defeated Davison ninety to sixty one.
So Charlie, the guys are going to get oh a
good four days away, just like Gil Boulways gave you guys. Well, no,
I know he did two maybe, but you know, part
of it now is the schedule allows for that now.
Because there were a lot of times, like you guys
would have a holiday tournament or you'd play a game

(01:34:23):
on the twenty seventh, they don't play again until the thirtieth.
So that's one of the things that college basketball, and
the last several years they've opened it up a little
bit in the holiday to give everybody a little chance
to take a breather.

Speaker 3 (01:34:35):
Yeah, and it's really great mentally for the players to
be able to go home, see your family, hang out,
take naps, right like, not to be in full function
in your hind School. There's a lot of pressure on
these kids, you know, to be able to get that
mental space. That's it's really big before you go to
the Big ten season.

Speaker 2 (01:34:52):
And talking with Greg about it last week on his
radio show too, and he mentioned it and he said
it before he really wants his guys to get you
get away from the game, to give you you get
off your feet. Now, don't get don't get crazy about it,
don't get sloppy because when you come back to practices,
I'm sure are going to be kind of spirited and
they get back, but just you know, get yourself maybe

(01:35:12):
as much of a mental break as a as a
physical break. Right now, now, not everybody. They've got some
international players here, so not everyone is going to get
home because of the long distance travel. Behalf of your
downtime could be spent in airports and airplanes. But this
is where the teammates will come in and just be
able to visit with them. So as as you know

(01:35:34):
better than I like, when you're when you get a
break and the campus is empty, you need to be
around some people.

Speaker 3 (01:35:40):
Absolutely isolation during that time, I mean we had a
lot I mean, you know, to have a lot of
like they do now international players, but you know Kirk
from New Zealand. Yeah, we got to spend a lot
of time together and and and that was great time
again not only being away from the game, but just
being brothers by yourself away from the court. These guys
are going to do that, and like you said, they've

(01:36:01):
got opportunities that guys are probably going to fill their
homes and go be with their teammates a little bit too,
because they're not going to be able to make that travel.

Speaker 2 (01:36:08):
Yeah. You mentioned Kirk andreas Helvic also of your teammates,
So yeah, it's the time. International flavor isn't brand new here,
but we are seeing it obviously more and more in
college basketball. And two of those players started tonight for Wisconsin.
Alexis Bilowskis has been in the lineup now the last
five games, and Hayden Jones gets his first start here tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:36:29):
Yeah, and I like the way that they're doing that
with ab coming he's the starter, raps coming off the bench.
It's just a great time for him to be able
to do that.

Speaker 2 (01:36:37):
All right, we will take a break here and we
are in we're in our post game coverage. There are
Wisconsin Ford Dealers post game show. We'll continue in a
couple of minutes. This is Badger basketball from their field.
We continue with our Wisconsin Ford Dealers postgame show as
Wisconsin has eighty eight on the board, eighty eight to

(01:36:59):
sixty one on that your final over Central Michigan. That's
just the sound system, folks. You heard a boom back there, maybe,
but that's everything is microphone. Yeah, there's a couple of
folks with big smiles on their faces over there. So yeah,
in case anybody's startled by that, so big holiday plans,
you're gonna got some good.

Speaker 3 (01:37:15):
Stuff coming on. My plans consist of napping and eating,
and it.

Speaker 2 (01:37:20):
Sounds like a great one, right, I want to follow
a very similar plan. I think, Yeah, it's gonna be
you see how little we can do here here for
the next.

Speaker 3 (01:37:28):
Great holiday break and family time that I'm excited about
that uninterrupted. That's a great time. A great thing about
the world when they celebrate, especially in America. Actually everybody
takes off. Yeah, it's a great time. The whole thing
shuts down. So I think it's going to be a
beautiful time to have that.

Speaker 2 (01:37:45):
Yeah, I know that the players are going to appreciate
a little little downtime of their own before they reconvene
later in the week, and uh, about four days off,
I believe, and then they'll get back on the practice
floor and get themselves ready for the mill Wacky Panthers
on the thirtieth, and that's the final non conference game
of the season, and then the Big Ten games will begin.

(01:38:07):
So good night's work is a greg guard making his
way over led by the General manager of Wisconsin Basketball,
Mark Vanda Wedding. I asked, Mark, but you know graduated
ten years ago. If I told you'd have been a GM,
he said, I would have looked at you really weird.
He's a good one. Coach guard now joining us here
at courtside after this eighty eight to sixty one victory

(01:38:27):
against Central Michigan. There's a lot of just looking at
the stats screen, coach, a lot of things jump out,
not the least of which twenty five assists on twenty
nine buckets here tonight.

Speaker 1 (01:38:40):
Pretty good work defensively, just like the energy with your
team tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:38:43):
Yeah, I did you know?

Speaker 4 (01:38:45):
I thought we You know, when we move the ball,
we become much more difficult to guard. When we don't
like everybody else in the country. We're easy to guard,
so I thought, you know, guys off the bench gave
us when we did get stagnant, they gave us some boost,
you know, and it's some pretty good things. Defensively, I
think we're you know, you're always looking to take a

(01:39:07):
step forward and as small as it may be, regardless
of who you're playing, can you play the game the
right way. That's always what we're talking about, and regardless
of upon, to play the game the right way because
those good habits will carry over and that's what we
have to continue to, you know, build good habits so
we're more consistent.

Speaker 3 (01:39:25):
Yeah, that's what you talked in the pregame, was taking
away the right things that you guys were doing, creating
more consistency from from tonight. What was maybe one or
two takeaways with your young guys being out on the
court getting some exposure, what what do you what were
what were your thoughts on that? Well, the fact that.

Speaker 4 (01:39:42):
We only had two turnovers in the second half was
I thought a good We talked about that because I
think we had seven at halftime and just unforced ones.

Speaker 3 (01:39:51):
You know, just slow down, you know.

Speaker 4 (01:39:53):
I even use the old Aaron Rodgers quote, Relax, Like
we we through a couple that were fastballs, were we
don't need to throw fastballs, and so just.

Speaker 3 (01:40:03):
Taking care of the ball I think was good.

Speaker 4 (01:40:05):
I thought, you know, it was good to get Brayden
back on the floor, I thought in the limited run,
and he hasn't practiced very much, if hardly at all.
I did a little bit yesterday, and then obviously having
Zach ready to go and wanting to play, because I
think he can help us, not only from you know,
he's earned the spot, he's earned a chance to get

(01:40:25):
on the floor, and I think it helps gives us another,
you know, option in the back court because you know,
it's a long season. You never know with you know,
guys get banged up. Plus he's he's becoming a much
more solid player. The jump he's made in the last
three four weeks really since we've come back from even
from San Diego, just he's he's gotten better and better,

(01:40:46):
and I think he's confident now and getting his feet
under him a little bit. So this was always an option,
and I had actually made my mind up, you know,
a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to get him.
We needed to get him in there and playing because
he he just is too much. I think he can
help us and we're gonna need, Like I said, all
hands on deck.

Speaker 2 (01:41:04):
Wait the other guy who seemed like he brought some
things to the party again, it was Jack Jenick. Yes,
you know, the nine assists, that's obvious, but that was
kind of the Jack Jick last year exactly.

Speaker 4 (01:41:15):
That's the Jack JANICKI of old. And that's what I
told him when I was sitting by him before the
jump ball. You need to be jumping Jack jumping Jack
Janicky put skin on the floor, you know, and he goes,
you know, because you can't you understand your role on
what you you know know thyself. I think I told
you guys that in the pregame right then. What he
needs to bring to us is that energy things that maybe, yeah,
the nine assist is awesome, but it's the other activity

(01:41:39):
and the deflections, the hand on basketball is the rebounding,
the energy. He can bring the spark that we need
in terms of the how hard.

Speaker 3 (01:41:48):
We play and some of those things.

Speaker 4 (01:41:49):
And he's got he's one of three that's got experience
with us along with you know, the other one was
sitting on the bench and JB and and Nolan so to.
He needs to help these young or newer guys get
up to speed.

Speaker 2 (01:42:02):
Time is their friend, obviously with John Blackwell did play tonight,
then Nolan Winter, look he kind of maybe rolled his
foot a little bit a little bit, but for everybody
I was suggesting this with Charlie there's the physical reset,
but just kind of get away mentally reset to Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:42:15):
I mean we're only three four days off the finals
there maybe not even that much. And and just mentally
yes that you know that over the last ten days
or so I think has been taxing on as it
always is. But yeah, i'd be able to, you know,
enter into the holidays here on on a good note
and be able to kind of reset here a little bit,
get our legs back and uh, you don't get ready

(01:42:37):
for you know, one more non conference then back in
the league.

Speaker 2 (01:42:40):
I don't know how much of a reset you get,
but I hope you get some. So a little bit
a little family time will.

Speaker 3 (01:42:46):
It'll be awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:42:46):
Yeah, we'll get everybody coming in and so looking.

Speaker 3 (01:42:50):
Forward to it.

Speaker 1 (01:42:50):
All right, congrats Barry christ.

Speaker 4 (01:42:54):
Say you know all our listeners out there, happy holidays and.

Speaker 1 (01:42:57):
On Wisconsin appreciate it. We'll talk to you soon, all right,
thank you, said coach.

Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
Great Guard joining us as the Badgers went at eighty
eight to sixty one.
