network studio. This is matt Lebay. We welcome you to
Wisconsin basketball. Second half of conference playoff to a good
start for great Guards. Badgers two to zero in the
second half of this Big Ten regular season, eight and
four overall, Iowa Hawkeys trying to get rights. They're four

and seven in league play, thirteen and nine overall. Before
we get started, let's pause ten seconds for station identification

it's not a sellout, but it's a pretty good crowd
here and then includes some Badger fans many make that
trip down here, and given Iowa's deep love and appreciation

of all things Wisconsin Badgers, they'd probably be a pretty
loud crowd here today. It's always the case with the
Badgers and Hawkeys hook up and Butch you mentioned the
Badgers playing well dominated Indiana had a really good second
half against Northwestern. Iowa was close the other night against Purdue.
They've lost five out of six or without their best

player in Owen Freeman, as we talked to the pregame.
Their ability to score always makes them dangerous, doesn't.

Well, yeah, I mean they're the best of the Big
Ten as far as what they're able to do and
how they're able to score the basketball. I mean, it's
just the way they play and they're gonna fill it
up now. Defensively, Wisconsin's been much much better, so look
to them to do that. But you can't get by
with the easy ones. You can't lose someone in transition,
you can't have a turnover and it's a light ball turnover,

and they build confidence. I think the biggest thing we
know Wisconsin shot the ball so well at the Cole
Center this year against Iowa.

But what I thought was most.

Important is they didn't let Peyton Stanford get going at all.
They shut him down very early on and never let
him get comfortable. And I think that's the key for
this game is you can't let Josh Dix feel comfortable.
You can't let Peyton Stanford feel comfortable. They're gonna have
it the ultimate green light. They've always had the green light.

or whatever, like, they're gonna get twenty plus shots up
because they just don't have enough guys there. That's what
that that's gonna be there formula. Dick's gonna have take

Yeah? You mentioned it with Sanford. I don't know how
many times he has looked visibly frustrated, but he certainly
won that night, absolutely that night in Madison. And he's

He's out with an illness. I think you see what
happens throughout this league. When your point guard isn't playing,
it's tough. But that's Misket State's gonna have their hands full.
And that's why you look at Wisconsin. They've had so
much success because they've had guys come in and really,
you know, control that point guard position. It's been by committee,
but man, they've been very good.

At that second game for the Hawk guys without Owen.
That means Riley Mulvey gets the starting call again as
he did against the Purdue Boilermakers. As we are set
to go, Malvey and Stephen Crowe will jump center. As
