Speaker 1 (00:00):
And once again Dave gasper Is on assignment in Arizona.
He saw Brandon Wooder have pitched today and pitched pretty well.
We'll hear from day during the week, of course, over
on his sister station. Ten seventy of the game. I'm
Doug Russell in alongside with Nick Brucewitz as always, and Nick,
this game is just going to be remembered for heavy legs.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
The effort was there, but the shots just did not fall.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
They didn't fall for John Tanji, they didn't fall from
the three point line for anybody. You can say the
same thing about Michigan as well, because they missed a
ton of shots in today's game as well. But at
the end of it, the Wolverines on a six to
zero run. At the end of the game, the Badgers
missed nine straight field goals to end the game. They
made just two of their last fourteen. Didn't have a
(00:43):
field goal in the last three minutes and fifty five
seconds of this game, and at the end of the
game it's a Michigan fifty nine to fifty three win.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Yeah, Doug, I'm not one to create excuses in trying
kind of just just make it sugarcoated for my team.
But the reality is it's it's oh damn hard to win,
and it's so incredibly hard to win four days in
a row. And the Badgers have run into the same
problem in consecutive years. Right, So, last year they beat
the number one seed, which was per due to go
(01:12):
to the championship game, but then they faced another team
that had the double buy that Wisconsin didn't have. Trying
to win Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday in its own right
is a challenge. But you're talking about one of the
best conferences in college basketball and you're playing the best teams.
It's just very hard to win, especially because you can't
(01:33):
make shots. Today, they just simply didn't make any. John
Toadjay's a perfect example. One of fourteen from the field.
He was never right in this one. Blackwell might have
been the only guy that seemed to still have a
lot of bursts, and even he was six of seventeen
from the field. Wisconsin didn't make shots. They hung in there.
They had an eleven point lead at one point, right,
so they had every opportunity to win this one. In
(01:54):
two years in a row, they're in the same spot.
But what is most important is that they don't repeat
last year. Now next week, next week, you got the
National Tournament. Last year they fell flat against James Madison.
This year, they'll be looking to do a little bit
more damage in advance, at least to the second round.
But I think their sites are set on that second weekend.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
At minimum, our phone lines are open to you at
six eight three two one thirteen ten against six eight
three two one thirteen ten. Talking about Wisconsin's fifty nine
to fifty three loss to Michigan in the Big Ten
Championship game in Indianapolis, Doug Russell and Nick Brusowitz, and
I think that that's going to be a theme Nick
this week or the leading up to wherever their first
(02:37):
game is.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
We all hope it's in Milwaukee. We think it may
be in Milwaukee.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
The signs are kind of pointing to it being at
five Serve Forum, which would give Wisconsin a great home
court advantage. Didn't necessarily help them last time in the
round of thirty two losing to Iowa State, but you
can afford to have a bad game from the field,
and overall, fifteen of sixty eight from the field, thirty
nine from beyond the arc. That's just seventeen point nine percent,
(03:04):
and you can afford to have that in Indianapolis. You
can't afford to have that moving on into the NCAAs
because it is one and done. The next loss that
the Badgers have ends their season. So get this one
out of the way. The effort was there, And your
point about John Blackwell is well taken six of seventeen shooting,
but he was the only one who was still taking
(03:25):
it with confidence to the rack. Two of eight from
beyond the arc from Blackwell, so the outside shot wasn't
hitting for him either, and there were some nice.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Plays over all.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Nolan Winter, I thought, had a couple of nice plays,
but he was only one of five from beyond the arc.
But he did pull down seven rebounds, John Tanji seven
rebounds trying to find a way to help his team
win this game. Seven of eight from the free throw
line from John Tanji, but again just one of fourteen
from the field, missed all five of his three point shots. So,
I mean, this was one of those games that there's
(03:56):
not a lot that you can look at as far
as the tape is concerned, because especially.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Early on, they got good looks, they got open looks.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Just felt like there was a lid on the basket
on both ends because Michigan wasn't doing a whole lot
better than Wisconsin was from the field.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Yeah, you look at some of the other counting stats
in this matchup, and the Badgers out rebounded the Wolverines.
They had less turnovers than the Wolverines. They had fifteen
offensive rebounds, which was nine more than what Michigan had.
They matched them in steals, they matched them in blocks, right,
So it's just a matter of the shots falling and
dougas we are now underway with selection Sunday, the bracket
(04:35):
being announced. Talking about Michigan, there'll be the five seed
in the South region. That's what we just found out. Okay,
so they're gonna be in the same region as top
overall seed Auburn.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Okay, Well, five seeds don't have necessarily a great history
in the NCAA tournament in the first round, so we'll
see who they playing.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Who's their twelve seed.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
You see San Diego first year in the their conference.
They go ahead and they win, and now they get
a twelve seed.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Okay, we'll keep our eye on that. Where Wisconsin is
going to wind up going into today, I looked at
Wisconsin as perhaps a three seed. I don't know that
they did anything that would damage that standing with the
committee because four games in four days. You could only
do that at conference tournament time. And you know, Michigan
didn't have to do that. I only played three games,
(05:24):
but Wisconsin had to play the four games in three days.
I mean that that's how you're going to see. As
I was talking about when we opened up the show, Nick,
those heavy legs and now you have to get you
have to rest, you have to get yourself right. Because
we've said it a million times. How you are judged,
how your season is judged, unfortunately, isn't always based upon
(05:47):
and oftentimes isn't based on what you see from November
until now.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
It's what happens in the next couple of weeks.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
So they are announcing Milwaukee as we are on air
right now, so we're waiting to they're about to announce
the three seed on Friday in Milwaukee. This is the
South region, as I've already highlighted Michigan in that region,
and they're taking their sweet time. I don't have the
audio on Doug as we're doing this, so we're peering
at our television screens here like everyone across the country,
(06:17):
Milwaukee three seed has been announced. It's Iowa State.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Oh okay, well they were in Milwaukee the last time
that the tournament was here. So not Wisconsin is the
number three seed.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Nikes, that's a tough flow.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
That hurts that STIGs man. That does sting.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
All right, Well, we'll figure out exactly where Wisconsin is
going to be. It doesn't look like it's going to
be Milwaukee. That's a little bit of an upset, but
we will figure that out as time goes on. He's
Nick Bruswitz. I'm Doug Russell in for Dave Gasper. He
is on assignment in Arizona. We are trying to figure
out exactly where the Wisconsin Badgers will play next. It
will be in the NCAA tournaments. Perhaps not at five,
(06:59):
Sir four, though probably not. Final score fifty nine to
fifty three. Michigan wins the Big Ten Championship came over Wisconsin.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Stay with us.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
This is the jay K Security Solutions Basketball postgame show
on thirteen ten WIBA.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
There's Jones to the line, Jones all the way to
the rim. He'll lay it up for that up.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
So man can't give up a transition.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Now you can go get one.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Nope, here's all in Winter Run on the Flooriday is
hit by Klusman, Winter catches and finishes retired at twenty one.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
If you're here to give one up, you might as
well give one. Give one, get one, three or five
left to the first half.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
And we are watching Selections Sunday, which is going on
on CBS right now. But we've got you covered here
on the Jay and K Security Solutions basketball postgame show.
As Wisconsin falls to Michigan in the Big Ten Championship game.
Doug Russell along with Nick bruce witzem and for Dave Gasper.
He's on assignment in Arizona, but Nick he will rejoin
you on Thursday or Friday, dependent upon where and when
(08:00):
Wisconsin plays their next basketball game. The South bracket in Milwaukee,
the number three seed will be Iowa State. What is
the other bracket that's going to be in Milwaukee as well,
because usually they switch.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
It up a little bit, and they started doing that
a few years ago.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
So well, I believe it's the Midwest. It's my understanding
that I think that that's going to be a two seed,
but I could be wrong, Doug, so premature potentially with
a series of tweets, including my own, But I am
feeling pretty confident that the the two seed is in
(08:37):
Milwaukee in the Midwest. But want to get that right,
So I'm not gonna buckle down and stick to what
I was saying previously. No, it's gonna be a it's
gonna be a three seed in Milwaukee, still in the Midwest,
So maybe I should pull back a tweet that I've
already sent out. We'll see.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Yeah, I mean they split the brackets.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
They started doing that a few years ago, so when
it was Iowa State, it was like, well, you know,
that was I kind of thought that the South bracket
might have been where Wisconsin would have landed. But yeah,
it's still very possible that the Badgers could be in
the Midwest bracket as the number three seeds. So if
they fall out of the three, I think that would
be the bigger upset.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
But you know, they're zero for one.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
But there's still another at bat left, so we'll see
how everything kind of kind of shakes out.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
But we will keep you posted, we will let you know.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
We'll probably know sooner rather than later where Wisconsin is
going to wind up playing, and of course we will
be talking about it all week long right here on
thirteen ten WIVA as well as our sister station ten
seventy the game. But you know, you go back to
this game if we're talking about the game itself. As
I said before, I mean, there were so many things
that you can pick on, but it just boils down
(09:45):
to the fact that they just couldn't make shots when
they needed to make shots. I mean, you thought that
there was going to be a couple of opportunities for
Wisconsin that john ton Ji dunk the only field goal
that he wound up making. That was with four thirty
seven left to play in the game. That was the
only field goal that he made, and that tied it
at forty five, and that it was a solid one
(10:06):
because you thought, all right, maybe this is the one
that's going to get him going. But it was immediately
answered by Michigan. They had a layup by Donaldson that
gave them back the lead. Wisconsin at a three pointer
by Crowell, and at the next media time out, Wisconsin
actually led by a point. I missed one and one
opened up the door for Wisconsin. But then Donaldson comes
back and hits a brutal, backbreaking three, and you look
(10:29):
at the six point deficit that Wisconsin had at the
final you know, with the final score, that's not indicative
of how close this game was at all. And we've
talked about that over the last couple of games.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
And it's you know, a theme.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
You know, certainly the first game that they played earlier
this month against Michigan State, you know, it was a
nine point swing in just the blink of an eye
at the Breslin Center, and Wisconsin winds up losing a
close game and it doesn't look like it's necessarily a
close game.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
This was razor thin the whole way.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
Yeah, absolutely, Doug. The final score is the largest lead
for Michigan at six, and it was it was a long,
long stretch between Michigan leading I think it was twenty
one to nineteen in the first half until they took
the lead again late in the second half. So Wisconsin
was in control of this one. And you know, you
can't really go home and say, yeah, we should have won,
(11:17):
and we won if we counted the majority of time led.
But the reality is Wisconsin had every shot at winning
this one in Michigan by no means was the more
dominant team. They were just the survivors of what was
a really ugly, ugly basketball games in terms of shooting,
and the Badgers they looked tired, and people, if they
(11:38):
want to look at me and say I'm creating excuses,
it's reality the Badgers. It's not human to be able
to play at your highest level every single game and
when you're tired.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
All right.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Officially, now here we go, Wisconsin has been announced as
the three seed in their individual region. I believe it
was the East as we're breaking it down, Yes it is.
They'll be in Denver, Colorado, and you can see the
faces of the Badgers. They're disappointed. They know what they
might have lost here. They'll play on Thursday against Montana.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Being a three seed is great, and I think that
they earned being a three seed. I think the disappointment
we're how much was riding on today's championship game because
Wisconsin wasn't exactly picked to be in the championship game,
and we were talking about them potentially being either in
the Midwest or in the South, playing in Milwaukee for
at least a couple of weeks. Now, I don't know
how much today's game if really knocked them down. I
(12:33):
have a feeling that at some point, maybe during halftime,
the selection committee kind of looked at each other said
three seed, and you know, let's look at them there.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
What you say they're they're in the East.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Yeah, they're in the East region in Denver playing on Thursday, yep,
against Montana against the fourteen seed Montana grizzly. So I mean,
I don't know that today's game knocked them down all
that much.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
No, it definitely didn't knock them down. It might have
just knocked them around where they could have landed right
they had they won this, you would have looked at
an Iowa State team that bowed out early in the
Big twelve tournament versus the Badgers who won their individual tournament.
So that's where we kind of jumped the gun, and
I jumped the gun a little bit, but ended up
being right in the end. The Badgers do miss out
on Milwaukee, and so now they'll either if they're able
(13:17):
to advance past Montana. Not gonna say that they will officially,
but three seed versus fourteen Traditionally the fourteen doesn't necessarily
win that often. They'll play either BYU or VCU, and
BYU is one of those high octane offenses. They just
dropped nearly one hundred on Iowa State a couple of
days ago. So the Badgers well suited for high scoring games.
(13:39):
But they're gonna have to get their shooting in line
if they're going to advance past this first weekend. Gotta
beat Montana first, of course, right get you gotta get
past the first game.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
And you look at the way that the Badgers won
against UCLA and then against Michigan State. It was with
hot outside shooting. And you know, when they don't hit
their shots. I mean, it's very for most teams to win,
especially like as you pointed out, playing in four straight days,
four games at a high level. Again, they will take
on Montana as the number three seed in the East
(14:11):
Region in Denver on Thursday, and the winner of that
game will take on.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Either BYU or VCU.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
BYU the number six seed, VCU the eleven seed, And
uh yeah, we'll be talking about Montana for the next
several days as the Badgers get set for their next opponent.
All right, coming up, Nick Osen from twenty four to
seven Sports will join us on the other side. He's
been in Indianapolis covering the Big Ten Championship tournament, including
today's Big Ten Championship game Michigan with fifty nine to
(14:39):
fifty three win over Wisconsin.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
I'm Doug Russell in for Dave Gasper who's on assignment.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Nick Bruswitz alongside stay with us on the Badgers Sports
basketball postgame show on thirteen to ten wiv A.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
Teen trap Rogers, Tom and Jay with a two hand
Doc fortier forty five Wisconsin with Florida. But It's day.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
The lone field goal for John Tonji today. It was
not a great day for the Badger's superstar heavy legs
for the entire team and just one of fourteen from
the field, missed all five of his three pointers. Welcome
back in to the JK Security Solutions Basketball postgame show.
JK Security Solutions from home theaters, smart lighting to universal

(15:31):
Badgers falling today fifty nine to fifty three in the
Big Ten Championship game to Michigan. John Tanji, again one
of fourteen from the field, zero for five from the
three point line, did make seven of eight of his
free throws and pulled down seven.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
Rebounds just wasn't enough.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
As Wisconsin falls, they also fall out of the Milwaukee bracket.
They will play in Denver against the Montana Grizzlies as
the number three seed. That'll be on Thursday. The time
is TB A welcome back in Doug Russell in for
Dave Gasper who's on assignment. Nick Bruswiz is alongside as always,
And Nick, I mean, you look at Montana, which is
(16:07):
the Badger's next opponent. You can't have another scoring output
game like they did today if they're going to beat
the Grizzlies. I don't care if you're the number three seed.
I don't care if they're the fourteen seed.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
Yeah, And you look at this East bracket as a whole, Doug,
and it's kind of exciting from a Wisconsin perspective in
terms of knowing what the Badgers can do offensively and
then looking at who else is in this bracket. Familiar programs.
Arizona's in the East, Oregon's in the East. Those are
two teams the Badgers have had a great amount of
success in March Madness against if they are fortunate enough
(16:39):
to get a matchup with them. Arizona the four Oregon
the five and then a lot of points. The one
seed Duke just won the ACC Tournament. Cooper Flagg arguably
the best player in the country. He's gonna be back
out there. I have to imagine. They said his ankle
injuries not of great significance in Alabama. I mean, you
could pretty much chalk them up for eighty five points
(17:01):
in their sleep. So the Badgers are going to have
to get back into their scoring ways. They're not going
to shoot sixty percent from deep and make nineteen threes
like they did a couple of days ago. But this
is a bracket. It's high octane offense and a lot
of pace. And now, as we talked about during the break, Dug,
they're playing Thursday, which, even if they didn't end up
(17:22):
in Milwaukee, you are hoping and praying almost for a
Friday contest, knowing that they've played four days in a
row and it will just be another day to get
your legs back onto you.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah, without a doubt.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
And you look at Montana and they've got some scores.
Money Williams is their leading score. He puts down thirteen
point three points per game. But they've got balanced scoring
as well. I'm a league more averages twelve point eight
points per game. Joe Pridgin he averages eleven and a
half points per game. Kay Johnson averages eleven point one
points per game. Brandon Whitney averages nine point five points
(17:56):
per game. They really spread it around, and this is
a team that it puts up a lot of points.
But again, there's not one guy that you can key
up on and not think that someone else is going
to be able to pick up the slack.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Yeah, no doubt about it. In this from Evan Flood
twenty four to seven sports coworker of Nikos and who'll
join us in our following segment. Montana faced two Power
four opponents this season. They lost to Oregon seventy nine
to forty eight and Tennessee ninety two to fifty seven. Badgers,
of course blew a second half lead to Oregon, but
(18:31):
that was a very close contest, and they also played
Northern Iowa, which they lost by twenty eight too, So
the Badgers. There's a precedent here for power for success
against Montana. But this is march Man. We all know
what it is. It doesn't necessarily matter what you got
in your past, it's what you got inside you in
(18:53):
terms of your soul and your strength and your mental
fortitude to hang in there. Soers are most is surely
going to take some punches from Montana. It's about the CounterPunch,
it's about response, and the Badgers they're going to have
a shot to at least try to right some wrongs.
Last year mass disappointment losing to James Madison on Night one.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
And Montana's riding a bit of a heater as well.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
They've only lost once since January eighteenth, and that was
an overtime loss at Portland State by three points, seventy
nine to seventy six. Other than that, they've been ripping
off win after win after win. But they've also had
some hiccups earlier in the season. At one point, actually
at two points, they had lost three out of four
(19:36):
after five games, they were two and three on the season.
And then when they begin their conference play they were
going in, you know, having lost three out of their
last four as well. So they've done that a couple
of times this year. But they ran through their conference
tournament in the Big Sky Championship beating Northern Carolina. I'm sorry,
Northern Colorado. Rather excuse me ninety one to eighty three.
(19:57):
So I mean, you want to be playing well at
this time of the season, and Montana is Wisconsin.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
I think they had one massive plunker a.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Week ago today at home against Penn States on Senior Day.
Beyond that, Wisconsin has played good basketball. I think they
played well today outside of the fact that there was
just a lid on the basket.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
I liked what I saw from Klesmitt today, even though
he didn't necessarily have a great day from the field.
Max was really finding wide open looks and they didn't fall,
but he found himself to the bucket a couple of times.
And Klesmitt now played thirty one minutes today, which is
the most he's played. He obviously made his return to
action after missing three games to end the regular season.
(20:42):
He made his return in their opening matchup of the
Big Ten Tournament against Northwestern, but this is the highest
minute total he's taken. I think that that's huge for
the Badgers as they push forward. He's their veteran leader,
he's their guy. They got sixth experience in that history play.
Because one and done teams don't necessarily win. Look at Kentucky,
look at Duke look at how much success they've had
(21:03):
in recent years, which is in a lot of championships,
the veteran leaden teams are oftentimes the ones that can
hang in there in tough matchups in March, and the
Badgers have a lot of vets that are gonna be
looking to kind of right some wrongs from the past.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
All right, we're gonna take our final break.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Nick Osin will join us from twenty four to seven

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Nick appreciate the time, huh so uh Denver, huh.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
Yeah, guys, thank you for having me. So, you know
you guys, knowing Nick certainly fellows I'm the eternal optimist,
but just seeing that reaction and basically just kind of
their draw and looking at some of these other teams,
I think that Wisconsin. You know, I don't agree necessarily
with snubs and things like that throughout this process, but
in terms of location, Denver compared to Milwaukee in terms
(23:02):
of potential opponent BYU may be playing the best out
of any team in the country right now, certainly up there,
and then rest time, Wisconsin plays the last game over
this weekend and then has to turn around and play
Thursday in high altitude. That I don't think that was
super fair to Greg Garden company. And I'm kind of
questioning really how much the Committee values these conference tournaments,
(23:25):
because if you look kind of throughout, I think Wisconsin
got the short end of the stick a little bit there.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Yeah, nigg it feels like the Badgers held their own
destiny in their hands coming into the stretch run of
the regular season, right had they taken care of business
in a couple of those matchups, most notably Oregon. They
lose that one with a big second half lead, and
then they lose on Senior Day, which I wonder how
much that factored in today as they're making these decisions.
(23:53):
That's the worst loss of their season. It came on
their final regular season contest. But as we look at
the region as a whole and consider the East, to me,
it feels like the Badgers are going to have to
score eighty plus points even to have a shot against
some of these groups because they all score a ton
of points.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
Yeah, Nick, your spot on. You know, I got to
get into the region a little bit more, but obviously
saw what I could before kind of the presser and
transitioning here, even against that BYU matchup. Look, they're underrated,
I think really as a sixth. I mean I've gotten
to see a decent amount of them this last month.
They can shoot threes with the best of them. They've
got some good post players, keep Akita, and then obviously
(24:34):
I believe Bama is the two there. I think I
saw it quickly before coming out.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
Next year, you got right, you got Duke Alabama that's
your one two. Then the Badgers is your three, or
Arizona Oregon BYU, those are your top six.
Speaker 5 (24:48):
Yeah. So that's easily the most high scoring region. And
the good thing as we've seen throughout the season, including
really some of that first half against Michigan State at
times and obviously against UCLA early, the Badgers can't do
that when their shot is on, There's no question about that.
I'm just a little bit just more perplexed, and I
look forward to maybe looking back and hearing some of
(25:10):
the committee's thinking. But knowing this group and just kind
of looking forward. I know these guys well enough. They're
not going to kind of, you know, sit and feel
sorry for themselves. They're going to look to attack. And
the nice thing is I probably like Wisconsin's depth over
a lot of those teams mentioned, and if they do
get past BYU Bama has not been playing their best ball,
so we will see. But your spot on, Nick, you
(25:32):
could call the East region really kind of the highest
scoring maybe highest ceiling potential of any region in the country.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
You talk about the depth, but Wisconsin only had five
bench points today. How troubling is that to you as
the NCAA's approach.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
Yeah, I think if I hadn't seen Doug kind of
a lot of their potential, obviously Gilmore earlier in the week,
McGee and then Amos kind of coming along, I would
be more worried. Felt like today and even early on,
by some of those shooting numbers, it truly felt like
tired legs and just kind of something exhaustion. Thoughts weren't falling,
(26:09):
but like defense was good, rebounding with solid I didn't
have an issue with a lot of the shot selection either.
I don't know about you guys, but it just felt
like speaking with yeah, Guard and Blackwell a couple of
minutes ago, like they left it on the floor. Shots
just didn't go down. So I would say I'm not
too worried, but obviously, especially in high altitude and as
you kind of transition there, Doug, you will need to
(26:32):
be able to rely on that bench for sure.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
Wisconsin EN's up as the second highest seeded Big Ten
team No. One seat, Michigan Michigan State two, excuse me,
and then Badger's come in as a three. Couple of
fours of five here and there. But does that come
in as any surprise to you that Wisconsin is the
second highest seeded team from the conference. Maryland came in
as a four, which Maryland's a hell of a basketball
team as well.
Speaker 5 (26:56):
Maryland's a four, Michigan five. Yeah, I don't think any
prize really, Nick. I will say Michigan State overall is dangerous.
The two line as a whole, it is really tough
to see. I mean, there was kind of a consensus
that one through eight was about as good as it's
been in a long time. But no, I don't think so.
I mean, I still think, you know, a three seed,
it's not like Wisconsin is necessarily getting slapped in the space.
(27:19):
You know, I knew that Milwaukee is going to be
really close, but I'm just most surprised probably about the
day that they're playing, just because I mean, they're going
to get less than three and a half full days
of rest, which is tough going into kind of one
and done going home. But overall body of work resume,
I think they're getting enough respect to be that second
best league. Tenn seem neck for sure.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
And finally, as we looked toward Montana, I know it's
a crash course for everyone, media included, but certainly the
players as well. They say that guard play is so
important in the NCAA tournament. This is a team in
Montana that is dominated by their guard play. Money Williams,
Malik Moore, Joe Pridgin, these are all guys that are
double digit scores. They spread the ball around, spread the
(28:00):
scoring around. Do you know anything about Montana yet that
Wisconsin can kind of lean on over the next four
days as they get ready to head to Denver.
Speaker 5 (28:09):
Yeah, well, I think you hit it right on the head. Dog.
You know what I do know more is a really
good player. They're deep at guard they can score. It
just kind of adds to some of the scoring that
we've talked about. And I look for guys like Prowl Winter,
hopefully Gilmour again, like some of those fours and five
really to be able to eat and find success because
generally size advantage will come to some of these big
(28:31):
ten teams. I think the physicality, but they've just got
to be ready because as we've seen certainly last year
and then just kind of throughout the country, lower seeded
teams like that that can shoot and score, guard play,
can drop bowels, they can be tough to get by.
So it's gonna be a really really intriguing week out in.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Then without it out, Nick, we appreciate the time and
the insights. You'll get Dave back. He'll be back from Arizona.
I hope he has a tan by the time he
gets back, but you'll get hit. It was great talking
to the last couple of days.
Speaker 5 (29:00):
I appreciate it, guys. Thank you as always.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
All right, there he goes Nick Osen from twenty four
to seven Sports. All right, Nick, so it's on to Denver.
I suppose right against the Montana Grizzlies.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
On to the next Badgers. Have never backed down from
a challenge. Greg Gardill have his team ready to go.
Simply if they get the same shot selection that they
got today, chances are they're going to be just fine
because they had plenty of open looks. They just didn't fall.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
All right.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
Good working with you over the last three days. As
I mentioned, Dave will be back with you on Thursday.

This has been the j in Case Security Solutions basketball

ten Wiba Blackwell in.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
A hurry down to ten seconds Blackwell left of the
lane stops mid range jumper. Short's man kind of day out.
The Blackwell four second shooting, get three Airbawl Wolf catches,
and the Michigan Wolverines are the Big Ten tournament champions. Actually,
there was a foul called with zero point seven seconds
to play.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
It's all academic now
