Luke Fickle's Wisconsin Badgers take on RyanWalters and the Purdue Boilermakers, a pair
of first year head coaches at theirrespective programs. The Badgers two and one
through the non conference season, theBoilermakers won and two. Before we get

doubt it, and listen. Iknow it's a big deal, and I
love big drums. I think it'sgreat. But to say the world's largest,
you're telling me because it's a bigdrum. It's not like some monster

when I don't have any questions,great atmosphere, and I love the fact
Friday night football and we get achance to see where the Wisconsin Badgers are
at. This is going to beone of those games. But it doesn't
mean I got to buy into allthe propaganda that Purdue is putting out in
the music industry. I'm not buyingit. Wow, what a skeptic.
But he's a hater. You've beenaround forever. You really believe that's the

world's biggest drum. I cannot thinkof a drum bigger than that. But

they've done a great job of renovatingross Age Stadium, but the one thing
that stays the same. And Ithink if you're an opposing player, I

think you could feed off of it. I'll ask you Mark, as an
opposing player here, you know,those fans are right up at guest here.
It's one of the tighter quarters thatyou'll find in the Big Ten Conference.
I imagine people would call you guyseverything but human beings. Yeah,
it's this in Iowa. I alwaysremember as those fans are right on.

You got the brick wall sitting there, and you know things can get gnarly,
but there is just nothing better.Everybody loves plan at home. It's
easier, but there is nothing betterthan when you can come into somebody else's
stadium, take everybody flipping you offwhen you're coming in, eggs, firing
at the bus and everything else.People dog custing you the entire game.
And then when you can shut themup, man, that is fun.

And the players will let them hearabout it. And then they got to
run out of here with their tailsbetween the legs. That's the goal.
But you have to go do it. And that's the challenge tonight for the
fire guys. The storylines from therespective campuses produced trying to bet Wisconsin for
the first time of a couple ofdecades. Luke Fickle's message to his team
is produce the reigning Big Ten Westchants. The road to it goes through
West Lafayette, so you get yourenergy where you need to get it from.

The boardermakers have been hearing it fora long time about the Wisconsin dominance,
but the fact is it was representingthe West last December in the Big
Ten Championship game. And with that, let's move on to our keys to
tonight's game, presented by your BadgerlandChevy dealers. And they all knew twenty

to get off to a good start, something we have talked about but has
yet to happen. If there wasa magic formula, Luke Fickle would have
used every coach in America. ButI guess the bottom line mark so that
you can't afford these slow starts anymore. They got away with it in two
of the three games, but nowin leap play, you just can't happen.
You can't. And it was reallytelling out in Pullman, Washington.

You know, the first road game. You have to understand when you go
on the road, you have tohave things cleaned up and you can't sit
back and wait. I think thisteam there's been too much kind of feeling
it out. And you know,and if you talk to the coaches,
they'll tell you the same thing.They're trying to figure things out too.
How can we because you want toget off to a fast start. So
the big thing is if you canmake a big play, special team,

set the tone, someone, makea big play, get that energy,
because it does feel like a lotof times the Wisconsin Badgers are kind of
feeling their way around. You can'tdo that on the road, and you
especially can't do it in Big tenplay tonight. Well, the other obvious
storyline from the Wisconsin fan base isa way to get agents zero going early.
We mentioned in the first half lastweek. Now, the Badgers only

ran sixteen plays in the first halfagainst Georgia Southern eight runs, eight passes.
Braylan Allen had four carries for sixteenyards. His first four carries of
the second half went for fifty seven. Luke Fickle has talked about wanting to
get Braylan eighteen carries per game.The total touches are almost identical through three
games this year as opposed to lastyear, but fewer handoffs. I'll be

curious to see if he doesn't getsome handoffs earlier in this game, just
to try to get him going.Don't know if we'll see it, but
I'm kind of curious to find out. Yeah, and I really felt like
last week it almost felt like hangaround, hang around all right enough,
that sort of felt like in thatthird quarter, and Braylan Allen was a
catalyst for that. But Braylan canonly do so much. I thought the

Fellas up front is what changed thecomplexion of that game, especially the interior
guys really moving people, getting BraylonAllen moving north and south. It's not
just about we'll throwing him swing passes. He is a guy you need to,
as we said last week, latherup his touches, put pressure on
defenses and see how many times thatsafety want to come down and Burrow is
heading their own agents, Hero's comingat him. Captain's meeting at midfield Jeff

no chance of rain, no winto speak of, natural grass,
really good showing here of badgerrette asyou could imagine it always is when the
Badgers traveling the Big Ten, particularlya nice drivable distance like West Lafayette.
You guys talked about the keys ofthe game, and I want to elaborate
on two of them. The faststart. Certainly, it's been belabored a
lot, but here's one stat thatthey really want to change. It's opening

drives offensively. So far this season, in their three games, they have
one total first down on their openingdrives, and it was against Buffalo.
When they've had fourteen yards of offensebefore punting. It was a three and
out against Washington State and a threeand out against Georgia Southern. His coaching
staff has talked about how do weinstill urgency. So in this game,

Produce is gonna receive the ball first. That's their chance to still urgency,
make a statement on defense, returnthe ball to their offense, and get
this crowd quieted down from the start. Alrighty, we settle in jack Vandi
except to kick off Badgers and thetraveling White Unis and the Cardinal Paint starginald

with Drew Brees, Era Tyrone Tracyand Dylan Downing are deep with the Bordermakers.
Tracy brought one back ninety eight yardsfor a touchdown in the season opener

Wisconsin, at the Badger's thirty eightyard line, Raylan Allen gets the call
at running back to the right ofMordachai. Three receivers right and one on
the left. First down handoff,Allan lowers the pads, bangs his way
across the forty and up to theforty four yard line. Malik Langham on
the defensive line up to make thehit. They'll mark at the four three

Talk about setting a tone. That'sjust a simple zone play. Malman
right tackle did a really nice jobof moving his guy. Braylan just kind
of cut off, went straight up, picked up five. Will Pauling's slot

will feed Braylon again slams off theleft side across the forty five yard line

and leans to the first down marker, which is the forty eight yard line.
For the first two snaps, theyfeed the big fella and Braylon Allen
gets Wisconsin the first down. Yeah, no penetration. The boys up front
and night Shove just covering their menup, giving Brailan a little bit of
space. And then Braylon really yousee him moving the pile, picking up
a couple extra yards. Good starthere, heady Marucci wing on the left

sometimes it flutters a little bit.That time I put a little pepper on
it. But what I noticed BraylanAllen did a great job picking up The
linebackers stayed mirrored and allowed Mordecai topick up a car Rucie and d K

a guy takes the stamp Purdue rushingthree tanners zips it to the right side.

That's caught by Will Pauling inside theforty yard line to Purdue Cam Allen
will take him out of ounce atthe thirty nine of the Boilermakers. Good
pitching catch there at a first downfor the Badgers into produce terrritor great job
up front as you probably aren't surprisedthe big time pocket there for Mordecai to
step up. Let that route develop. Pauling broke it off beautifully, nicely
thrown, but great job up front. Thirteen yard connection first and ten Wisconsin

Yeah, this offensive line is verycerebral. They don't react a whole lot,
