Kickoff. He's just moments away nowwith the cold of the game. Here's
Mark Tauscher and the voice of theBadgers, Matt Lapey. Good evening from
ross Sage Stadium in West Lafayette,Indiana, alongside Mark Tusher, Patrick herb
Our, engineer, Dave McCann's datasticianMike Keller, and Aisha Jackson. Back
in a network studio. This isMatt Lapey. We welcome you to Wisconsin

(00:21):
football, and we welcome you toBig ten Football two twenty three, as
Luke Fickle's Wisconsin Badgers take on RyanWalters and the Purdue Boilermakers, a pair
of first year head coaches at theirrespective programs. The Badgers two and one
through the non conference season, theBoilermakers won and two. Before we get

(00:43):
started, let's pause ten seconds forstation identification. Ten for an ID.
This is Badger football from Learfield,Martley, cloudy sky, Partley to mostly

(01:03):
cloudy sky, beautiful night, abouteighty degrees, a light wind out of
the east at eight miles per hourat grass surface. A fast track here
at ross A for the Badgers andthe Purdue Boilermakers are ready an emerging controversy
as Mark Tauscher makes his first appearanceto ross eh Stadium. So this is
playing days and he's calling into questionthe Purdue Marching Band's claim that it does

(01:26):
in fact have the world's largest drum. I sense you duff that I do
doubt it, and listen. Iknow it's a big deal, and I
love big drums. I think it'sgreat. But to say the world's largest,
you're telling me because it's a bigdrum. It's not like some monster
doesn't take up the whole feel Ido have some questions about that, But

(01:48):
when I don't have any questions, great atmosphere, and I love the fact
Friday night football and we get achance to see where the Wisconsin Badgers are
at. This is going to beone of those games. But it doesn't
mean I got to buy into allthe propaganda that Purdue is putting out in
the music industry. I'm not buyingit. Wow, what a skeptic.
But he's a hater. You've beenaround forever. You really believe that's the

(02:10):
world's biggest drum. I cannot thinkof a drum bigger than that. But
the night's young, so we'll givea thought. What's your Twitter account?
We'll just you get at Mark Tauscherright now. This place has changed and
they've done a great job of renovatingross Age Stadium, but the one thing
that stays the same. And Ithink if you're an opposing player, I

(02:32):
think you could feed off of it. I'll ask you Mark, as an
opposing player here, you know, those fans are right up at guest here.
It's one of the tighter quarters thatyou'll find in the Big Ten Conference.
I imagine people would call you guyseverything but human beings. Yeah,
it's this in Iowa. I alwaysremember as those fans are right on.

(02:53):
You got the brick wall sitting there, and you know things can get gnarly,
but there is just nothing better.Everybody loves plan at home. It's
easier, but there is nothing betterthan when you can come into somebody else's
stadium, take everybody flipping you offwhen you're coming in, eggs, firing
at the bus and everything else.People dog custing you the entire game.
And then when you can shut themup, man, that is fun.

(03:14):
And the players will let them hearabout it. And then they got to
run out of here with their tailsbetween the legs. That's the goal.
But you have to go do it. And that's the challenge tonight for the
fire guys. The storylines from therespective campuses produced trying to bet Wisconsin for
the first time of a couple ofdecades. Luke Fickle's message to his team
is produce the reigning Big Ten Westchants. The road to it goes through
West Lafayette, so you get yourenergy where you need to get it from.

(03:38):
The boardermakers have been hearing it fora long time about the Wisconsin dominance,
but the fact is it was representingthe West last December in the Big
Ten Championship game. And with that, let's move on to our keys to
tonight's game, presented by your BadgerlandChevy dealers. And they all knew twenty
twenty four Chevy tracks. While thecaptain obvious key to the game would be

(04:00):
to get off to a good start, something we have talked about but has
yet to happen. If there wasa magic formula, Luke Fickle would have
used every coach in America. ButI guess the bottom line mark so that
you can't afford these slow starts anymore. They got away with it in two
of the three games, but nowin leap play, you just can't happen.
You can't. And it was reallytelling out in Pullman, Washington.

(04:24):
You know, the first road game. You have to understand when you go
on the road, you have tohave things cleaned up and you can't sit
back and wait. I think thisteam there's been too much kind of feeling
it out. And you know, and if you talk to the coaches,
they'll tell you the same thing. They're trying to figure things out too.
How can we because you want toget off to a fast start. So
the big thing is if you canmake a big play, special team,

(04:46):
set the tone, someone, makea big play, get that energy,
because it does feel like a lotof times the Wisconsin Badgers are kind of
feeling their way around. You can'tdo that on the road, and you
especially can't do it in Big tenplay tonight. Well, the other obvious
storyline from the Wisconsin fan base isa way to get agents zero going early.
We mentioned in the first half lastweek. Now, the Badgers only

(05:09):
ran sixteen plays in the first halfagainst Georgia Southern eight runs, eight passes.
Braylan Allen had four carries for sixteenyards. His first four carries of
the second half went for fifty seven. Luke Fickle has talked about wanting to
get Braylan eighteen carries per game. The total touches are almost identical through three
games this year as opposed to lastyear, but fewer handoffs. I'll be

(05:32):
curious to see if he doesn't getsome handoffs earlier in this game, just
to try to get him going.Don't know if we'll see it, but
I'm kind of curious to find out. Yeah, and I really felt like
last week it almost felt like hangaround, hang around all right enough,
that sort of felt like in thatthird quarter, and Braylan Allen was a
catalyst for that. But Braylan canonly do so much. I thought the

(05:54):
Fellas up front is what changed thecomplexion of that game, especially the interior
guys really moving people, getting BraylonAllen moving north and south. It's not
just about we'll throwing him swing passes. He is a guy you need to,
as we said last week, latherup his touches, put pressure on
defenses and see how many times thatsafety want to come down and Burrow is
heading their own agents, Hero's comingat him. Captain's meeting at midfield Jeff

(06:17):
Servinsky, the referee. This isthe head head and that is the tail.
What is your call? Heads isthe call? It is a head
head, Wisconsin for your choice. So there you go. Wisconsin will defer

(06:38):
and choose to play defense first hereto start this game. So the Badgers
will kick off from our rights toour lefts. Purdue moving north to south
in a quarter number one. Beforethe Badger's kick, let's send it down
on the field and say hellover toour sideline reporter Patrick Herve, What a
great night for football. Love theFriday night lights, atmosphere, beautiful evening,

(06:58):
no chance of rain, no winto speak of, natural grass,
really good showing here of badgerrette asyou could imagine it always is when the
Badgers traveling the Big Ten, particularlya nice drivable distance like West Lafayette.
You guys talked about the keys ofthe game, and I want to elaborate
on two of them. The faststart. Certainly, it's been belabored a
lot, but here's one stat thatthey really want to change. It's opening

(07:19):
drives offensively. So far this season, in their three games, they have
one total first down on their openingdrives, and it was against Buffalo.
When they've had fourteen yards of offensebefore punting. It was a three and
out against Washington State and a threeand out against Georgia Southern. His coaching
staff has talked about how do weinstill urgency. So in this game,

(07:40):
Produce is gonna receive the ball first. That's their chance to still urgency,
make a statement on defense, returnthe ball to their offense, and get
this crowd quieted down from the start. Alrighty, we settle in jack Vandi
except to kick off Badgers and thetraveling White Unis and the Cardinal Paint starginald
Trim Purdue going old gold and black. The Black Unis will throw back look

(08:01):
with Drew Brees, Era Tyrone Tracyand Dylan Downing are deep with the Bordermakers.
Tracy brought one back ninety eight yardsfor a touchdown in the season opener
against Fresno States. As we areready to roll and one hundred year old
ross Age Stadium and West Lafayette,Indiana Vandyke with the kick of the air,

(08:22):
high end over end, Tracy willcatch a yard deep coming out right
side five. He is to theten and brought down shy of the fifteen
yard line. Preston Zachman will finishgood work on the kick coverage unit as
Perdue will start in a hole tobegin the game. Grover board a Lottie
leading the way on the kick coverageteam for Wisconsin. Yeah, you talk

(08:43):
about fast start, and when youdefer special teams, you think, well,
twenty twenty five yard line. Hereyou go. You get them started
and you pin them down inside thefifteen. Now the defense can set that
tone. It doesn't always have tobe offense. It gets the fast start.
Let's see this defense make a bigstand here early and it is Tyrone

(09:03):
Tracy getting the call and running backthe former wide receiver. He'll catch a
share of passes. They say itcould be a physical runner. Deonvert's wide
left motions right for the produced fourteenyard line, rolling right, rolling right
a his huckson card. He getshis red shirt freshman tied in Max Claire
who was hit right away by JakeCheney at the fifteen yard line of the
near side. A gain of oneon the first play from scrimmage. A

(09:24):
little misdirection trying to get the quarterbackout in space. Nice job by Cheney.
It's just following his lead going downmaking a quick tackle, not letting
anything after the catch, They'll goempty in the backfield. Now Tracy wide
right now. He motions into thebackfield at the right of the quarterback Hudson
Card. Two receivers left, oneon the right, second and nine back
to throw Card time in the pocket, looks flips left side high pass in

(09:46):
complete, intended for Garrett Miller thetied end, fifth years senior. Just
puzzed through his hands a little highcatchable, it looked like, but did
not bring it down. So what'sthird and nine for the Boilermakers at they're
fifteen. Yeah, Wisconsin brought Chaneyfrom the from his inside linebacker spot.
Purdue actually did a really nice jobof picking up that blitz, giving car

(10:09):
Card a lot of time to throw. Just sailed it high. Third and
nine Boilermakers at their fifteen yard line. Dj Sheffield slot left, motions right
now, bust back the other way. On third and nine, snap the
card Badgers bringing four pruss You're upthe middle of Cheney. Card pulls it
down. He could run. Weused across the fifteen up across the twenty
yard line and brought down by JamesThompson Junior at the twenty one yard line.

(10:31):
That's three yards short of the firstdown. The Card is pretty good
using his feet, but his threeyards short there as a Boilermakers forced to
punt again, brought Cheney and therunning back picked him up, flushing him
out and a nice job of forcingCard to kind of do a little juke
move and that allowed him to notpick up that first down and that fast

(10:52):
start we're hoping for. The defenseheld up its end of the bargain.
Jack Enzell is on the punt himRay DK deep at the Wisconsin thirty nine
yard line. Snap, the Ancelssteps up and the kick is end over
in DK. We'll signal for thefair catch and he'll make it inside the
forty yard line Wisconsin territory. Thatwas a forty one at yard punt to
night's game, brought to you withquite by Alliance Energy. Visit Deliant energy

now and in the future. Aminute and a half gone by those score
ten or Mordechai in the Wisconsin offensetaking the field for the first time tonight,
would love some quick throws. Justget in a tempo and a rhythm
because everybody's talking fast, start fast, start the three and ounce. That's
what you have to avoid. Andgetting some positive yardageh on first down.

(11:37):
That always helps when you're trying topick up first out. Badger's move right
to left. As we view itin the first quarter first in ten,
Wisconsin, at the Badger's thirty eightyard line, Raylan Allen gets the call
at running back to the right ofMordachai. Three receivers right and one on
the left. First down handoff,Allan lowers the pads, bangs his way
across the forty and up to theforty four yard line. Malik Langham on
the defensive line up to make thehit. They'll mark at the four three

(12:00):
of the game of five for BraylonAllen on the Badger's first play from scrimmage.
Talk about setting a tone. That'sjust a simple zone play. Malman
right tackle did a really nice jobof moving his guy. Braylan just kind
of cut off, went straight up, picked up five. Will Pauling's slot
left generally DK wide left. Paulingstarts in most to the right. Mordecai
will feed Braylon again slams off theleft side across the forty five yard line

(12:22):
and leans to the first down marker, which is the forty eight yard line.
For the first two snaps, theyfeed the big fella and Braylon Allen
gets Wisconsin the first down. Yeah, no penetration. The boys up front
and night Shove just covering their menup, giving Brailan a little bit of
space. And then Braylon really yousee him moving the pile, picking up
a couple extra yards. Good starthere, heady Marucci wing on the left

(12:45):
side, pulling in Dka to theleft, rising Green to the right.
High snap on first down play fakeMordecai looking around, pulls it down he'll
run at forty five and started theslide at the forty eight yard line,
got right back to the line ofscrimmage. Again. Not a great shotgun
snap there, but Mordecai kept hispoise and the Badgers of a second and
tender there forty eight. Yeah,we see the snap for Bordelini. It

(13:07):
sometimes it flutters a little bit. That time I put a little pepper on
it. But what I noticed BraylanAllen did a great job picking up The
linebackers stayed mirrored and allowed Mordecai topick up a car Rucie and d K
to the left, Will Pauling slotto the right, Brising Green wide to
the right, Raylan Allen to theright of the quarterback Tanner Mordecai. What
a guy takes the stamp Purdue rushingthree tanners zips it to the right side.

(13:28):
That's caught by Will Pauling inside theforty yard line to Purdue Cam Allen
will take him out of ounce atthe thirty nine of the Boilermakers. Good
pitching catch there at a first downfor the Badgers into produce terrritor great job
up front as you probably aren't surprisedthe big time pocket there for Mordecai to
step up. Let that route develop. Pauling broke it off beautifully, nicely
thrown, but great job up front. Thirteen yard connection first and ten Wisconsin

(13:52):
at to Purdue thirty nine yard line. Pauling's slot to the right, Green
Wide run DKA to the left, paul and starts an emotion to the left.
O the guy takes the stamp. He'll give it to Alan Room off
the left edge, trying to slipat tackle attempt and he does. Penalty
markers fly could be a face maskhere as Alan taken down at the thirty
five yard line of Purdue. Yeah, big time, face mask everybody.

(14:16):
Here's a bunch of yellow laundry downin the field. I'm gonna pick up
another fifteen. Jeff Servinsky is thereferee. Personal follow face mask defense number
one. The fifteen yard penalty hasadded to the end of the run,
includes an automatic first down, Patrick, What do you have? A tough

(14:39):
run there from Alan? He actuallyran off the field there. It looked
a little bit gingerly. I don'tknow if that's a normal rotation for Blucy
to come in, but I'm surePurdue doesn't mind seeing him on the bench.
And first two career games for him, he's averaging nine yards per carry
against Purdue. Two hundred and fiftythree yards in two games. Already a
good start. Tonight, Badgers atthe Purdue twenty yard line after that penalty,
so Blue he is in there rightnow, will pauling out slot to

(15:01):
the right. Mordecai gets some organizedand includes getting a Routcie to flip to
the left wing. On first andten. Mordecai tell you that penalty markers
fly as a fraction coming up hereagainst Wisconsin fall start offense number seventy nine.

(15:22):
Here penalty first sound, we'll getthe left tackle Jack Nelson. There,
look like the Badgers were not quiteorganized there up front or as an
offense in general. Getting in mindup right. So it's a first and
fifteen. Now Wisconsin at the twentyfive of perdue. Yeah, Roucie kind
of back in the backfield. Thenmoved him to the right, moved him
to the left. That was alittle bit clunky, and Jack just got

(15:43):
a little anxious there to get moving. Started a little bit too hard.
A little more than four minutes goneby, no score. Badgers with a
threat pauling a slot to the right. Mordecai takes the snap. You'll give
it to me. Lucy room offthe right edge, twenty five to the
twenty. Well, Lucy up theright hash marks inside the fifteen down of
the fourteen yard line. The Badgersin business, second down and four.

(16:03):
This trip to the red zone broughtto you by case i H VISITCASEIH dot
com slash Badgers. Great job byNelson logging his guy, giving them giving
him a bunch of space on theedge. Raylan Allen back in there,
Mordicai back to throw time of thepocket, look SIPs it over the middle
and it has broken up incomplete intendedfor Hayden Rucci at about the one yard
line, so Noocy Kane out ofthe secondary breaks it up and it's third

(16:29):
down and four Wisconsin at the fourteenyard line of Purdue. Boy, the
line of scrimmage has been one bigtime so far. Mordechai all kinds of
time, but actually moving his feet, shuffling, shuffling, and allowed Rucci
to break open their nice job byPurdue A batting that ball away her down
and four Wisconsin at to Purdue fourteenyard line, pauling Rucci and DK tight

(16:52):
to the left, s rising Greenout to the rights. Mordicai takes the
snap. You'll give it the brailingoff the run, or rather Mordecai keeps
it running left to the ten tothe five touchdown Wisconsin. Oh, a
beautiful fake. They were geared towardagent zero and tenner. Mordechai says,
I got this and the Badgers arefirst on the board. Great read there

(17:15):
by Mordecai. I don't know ifthat was actually the way I was designed,
but everybody moved with Braylan Allen Mordecaiheld it. The entire Purdue linebacking
court went flushed hard to the rightand Mordecai, that's as easy if a
walk in tutter as you're going tosee. It continues to show his ability
to run with the football as NathanielVakos with the extra point. It is

(17:40):
in the air and it is good. A nice starts for the Wisconsin Badgers.
Recapping the scoring drive brought to youby your local Wisconsin and Up four

(18:25):
for the Badgers. Tanna Mordecai,a fourteen yard runs seven nothing Wisconsin,
Patrick, a little energy that they'reon this offensive side of the ball.
Yeah, this offensive line is verycerebral. They don't react a whole lot,
have a show a lot of emotion. But they came to the bench
fired up, and the guys onthe bench reacted the same way. I
think they knew what they just accomplishedon that first drive. And that's echoing
what Tao said about dominating that lineof scrimmage. They're feeling themselves right now.

(18:48):
All right, Jack Vandi accept tokick off, Dylan downing Tyrone Tracy
deep for the ball. The makersVandike on the run up and the kick
is away. Waiting for it isTracy and he'll catch at the goal line,
right side five to the ten, cutting outside fifteen yard line, and
again the Badgers take care of himshy of the twenty yard line. This
is a very dangerous return man.We mentioned Tyrone Tracy, but two returns

(19:12):
not much in the early going heretonight. Now you want to talk about
complimentary football and starting fast, andyou know, with Patrick just talking about
the old line, you want toavoid listening to a lot of outside noise,
but sometimes it can be used asfuel. Everybody was talking about the
old line and the slow starts. That's why that means a lot, because

(19:33):
that eight play drive, six rushesfor forty nine yards. That is physical
starting football. Devin maccabee and arunning back now on first down thinking in
his card throwing left side, MaxClaire to catch hit right away by Jason
Maitre and Preston Zachman and driven back. When they got on him right away,
they will get in progress to thetwenty four yard line on a gain

(19:55):
of five second out in five forthe boiler Maker. Yeah, when you
play spread him out for fall Teamsthat want to be you know, get
the get the ball to their athletesin space. It's all right, but
make sure they paid for it whenthey do. That was a nice job.
I was going three receivers right, one on the lefts Makabe the running
back, shist of the left tothe quarterback card back to throw over the
middle passport by Dean Burks and heis tossed down. Should be a first

(20:17):
down to shy the thirty yard line, maybe right at the thirty Burks the
Red Shirts softwore, and it's afirst down for the Blood of Makers at
their thirty yard line. Nine fifteenleft, first quarters seven nothing Wisconsin them
who comes out, trips to theright, there's a pick up. The
tempo card takes a snappil feed Mockabeeone into the left, wakes through flag
down thirty five forty Makabee forty five, still up across midfield into Wisconsin territory.

(20:41):
But a penalty marker back at theline of scrimmage, Bringer back,
Bringer back. We'll tackle a loton the edge. Of course, it's
a holding called matt offense number seventyfive, ten yard quintal ye, first
down and we'll get yours. Yeah, I think that when you have a

(21:02):
call. Yeah, and that's theworst kind too, because you're feeling yourself
falling. So you're not only getpancake by the defensive lineman, you also
get a penalty thrown in your face. Set. That's one of those you
just hopefully the video dude didn't seeit and it's not on the game film.
Tomorrow, I'm guessing it will beWife's out of twenty four yard run

(21:22):
for Macaby. Instead, it's firstand twenty for the Boilermakers back at their
twenty yard line. Dean Burke's wideto the left. He is against Alexander
Smith three receivers to the right. He high snapped a card back to throw
Badgers bringing four car trying to weaveout of traffic. He used to play
alive across the twenty twenty five yardline. Geo Paiez spends him down at
the twenty six yard line. Cardon the scramble, good for six second

(21:47):
down and fourteen for the Boilermakers.Wisconsin ran an ice little stunt you brought
the CJ gets came across the kindof looped around and then he missed card.
But good pursuit by every body elseby is it a nice job of
chasing down and limiting the game byas and Ben Barton the defensive lineman right
now for Wisconsin, second down andfourteen perdue from its own twenty six yard

(22:11):
line slot right slot left Card takesthe snap. Badgers rushing four card looking
checks it down, catching macabee Bright'sside. Matree closes brings him down with
health of McCardell Hallman at the twentyfour yard line. No gain on the
play. As the Badgers really rallyingto the football in these early minutes.
It's third down and six for theBoilermakers. Yeah, what you're seeing is

(22:33):
a lot of open field tackling, and you're seeing a ton of red pants
White Jersey's flocking to the football. They correct myself or they market the twenty
three. It's third down in seventeenfor the Boilermakers at their own twenty three
yard line. Three receivers left andone on the right, and that holding
penalty that Purdue behind the sticks, and this set of downs lay clock is

(22:56):
at five. Three receivers left, one on the right. Card gets the
stat. Badger's rushing four cards stepsup. You'll run it twenty twenty five,
part thirty thirty five and started theslide another penalty marker down though in
the backfield. He started the slideat the thirty eight, which is two
yards short of the stick. They'llPurdue hurt itself with turnover his end,

(23:21):
and here's the call. Ranger back, Ranger back. Not only did Purdue
hurt itself with turnovers last week, had committed eleven penalties. It would be
fourth and two if they turn thisdown. Here's the call. Offense number
sixty three, ten yard count ofeight. They're down there and you want
to just keep backing them up,and then you see if you get yourself

(23:42):
the turnover here, seven oh threeleft in the quarter, first quarters,
seven nothing Wisconsin. Wisconsin's doing anice job of putting pressure on card and
he's forcing some holding penalties. That'stwo on this drive, and you just
keep pushing back and you're right thirdand twenty seven, and they'll just go

(24:02):
ahead and run it. With Dylandowning there crashing over the right side.
That's the surrender flag on that side. I'm Herrott Purdue. Yeah, they
have They're gonna go ahead and puntit, and the thousands of offensive coordinators
are not happy here in West Lafayette. Yeah, but you're right, Matt
when you're saying that those are thepositions. When you're sitting there, you
know, offensive coordinators will always tellyou, I don't have a ton of

(24:23):
players for third and twenty four.So that's where you just kind of limit
it and you get the fans onyou a little bit. But you can
just see Wisconsin is there's a lotof swagger on the field, and you're
seeing it in the way they're playing, rallying to the football. Great start
here for the Badgers. Jack anSell onto punt six eighteen left, first
quarter, seven nothing Wisconsin and sellwith the kick. It sails towards the

(24:45):
near sideline. Badgers got a littlepressure on them and this was not hit
particularly well. Let's see where theymarket. Wisconsin will have the ball in
Purdue territory and Badgers will have greatfield position von walking. It will be
at the thirty eight yard line ofPerdue. When play continues, we will

second Wisconsin possession will start at theBoilermaker's thirty eight yard line and the thirty
eight yard line that was the casewhere Perdue shot itself in the footboot.

(26:12):
Wisconsin's playing downhill. They're doing somestunting up front, causing some holding penalties
at twenty yards of penalties there andthirty nine yards of Carrie's wiped out on
those penalties. It's fifty nine yardsof hidden yardage that special teams coach,
you're always looking for that love thatWisconsin took that penalty. And now with

(26:33):
a bad month, starting at thethirty eighth and go put another seven on
these boys. Trey Wedding in thereat right guard. He played both right
and left guard last week as planned, and into their rotation here early you're
early on tonight at the right guard. Yeah, he's been playing good football,
and they're trying to find more waysto get him involved there early.
So as when Lucy their running backon first down, Mordecai Das chairs up

League Langham among those in there, defensively pulled the bay the Baker's game of

lot cleaner, and I know that'scoach talks about playing clean, playing clean,

(27:17):
starting up front, not having anypenetration that gives these guys Chez drips

run game. As this game continuesto progress, third in five, Wisconsin
at to produce thirty three yard line, five eighteen left first quarters seven nothing
Wisconsin will Pauling Tucker Ashcraft CJ Williamsout to the right, Shimray DK to

(28:00):
Tanna throws over the middle, tightwindow, caught by Williams, bounces off
a defender and gets the first down. What work after they catch by C.
J. Williams down to the twentysix yard lineup Purdue. That was
a tight window that Mordecai decided tothrow into and then doubled up with Purdue
boiler Makers right there and bouncing off, picking up a couple of nicely done

(28:22):
there by Williams and Lucy still intheir running back takes the handoff. Now
the Paulling on the reverse one ofthe reverse pass still looking now he'll throw
at Mordecai catches at the fifteen tothe ten hat out of bows goes Tanner,
Mordecai a little reverse pass action MarquisWilson on the stop and will Pauling
is one for one through the airas a Wisconsin Badger and it's now first

(28:47):
in goal Wisconsin at the seven yardlineup Purdue. Lucy to the right of
Mordecai, who takes the snap. He'll give it to me Lucy up the
Ryan hash marks at the five andis driven back there and that's the outside
backer Nick Scortzon on the stop histrip to the red zone. Brought to
you by case IH VISITCASEI dot comslash Badgers. That was fun, little

(29:11):
fun, little wrinkle. It's likea little reverse you send the quarterback,
almost like a Philly special where yourun Mordecai out and the play broke down.
Give paula credit, he was notgoing to give up on it.
He wanted to throw that pill andhe did. And it's second and goal
at the six. Pauling slot left, jogs in motion to the rights,
Mordecai under center, takes the snap, drops the throw backbeddling looks, throws

(29:33):
left side end zone incomplete wide tothe target intended for Tucker Ashcraft. Dylan
Thiedeman on the coverage and it's nowthird in goal Wisconsin at the six.
Yeah, needed to sell the fakea little bit more. That's a leak
route where you're trying to get thetight end. You push everything out front
side and you hold hold and youhope that that linebacker doesn't go with you.
I think that was the timing wasawful a little bit. You could

(29:56):
tell it was a throw that gavepretty a chance to get back out on
a trap that should be It's designedto be a wide open look. Give
Purdue credit. Williamson palling out tothe right, DK and Rucci to the
left. What a guy back ofthe shotgun takes the stamp, looks the
thrill, looks right, looks left, still looking bouncing around, steps up,

(30:17):
flushed to his left. One pumptrying to get to the edge,
turns a corner at the five.Mordechai died to the end zone. Touchdown
Wisconsin, Oh ten or. Mordechaicontinues to impress, if not dazzle,
with his patience and the footwork. He found the edge and it's thirteen to
nothing, Wisconsin. You have aninternal clock. As a quarterback, he

(30:38):
had I don't know what a realslow watches. He had about ten minutes
back there Ti ti to tick andhe had all the coverage. They decided
produce, decided to flood it,send a bunch of people. The old
line held up all day and thenMordechai produces linebacker had an angle. He
beat him to the corner, tuckingit past the pylon. What a great

(30:59):
play by Ten Mordechai and Nathaniel Vaikosonto its mt extra point and the kick
is in the air and it isgood scoring. Driver out to you by
your local Wisconsin and up Ford dealers. Seven plays thirty eight yards took two
minutes and forty four seconds. Everydaystyle is easy with favor looks for family,

of rushing touchdowns in this first quarter, the latest from six yards away.
Three twenty six left in the openingperiod, Wisconsin fourteen per do nothing that
I think, looking back at thosefirst three weeks, I kept wondering because
you read that defensive end and Wisconsinwas not doing a lot of pet and

(32:10):
I think you try to hold somestuff back. You have to run your
system, and tonight there's no doubtthere are unleashing. With the trick play
that you saw with Will Polling, that was that was not when it's drawn
up that way and it gets kindof beaten down like it did right up
the start, you're told just takeit. Hey, they got us.
He did not allow himself. Paulingdidn't allow himself to get tackled. That

(32:32):
play sparked that drive. And thenTanner Mordecai with great protection up front all
day. I don't know how manytimes he tapped the football and looked and
looked, and then all kinds ofwide open space made one guy miss and
then sprint it to the He's usedin his legs. That's another weapon,
and you're seeing that tonight. Torushing touchdowns last week, to rushing touchdowns

(32:54):
in the first quarter, tonight's tracingand downing the deep for Purdue as Jack
van Dyke on the run up andhis kick is away and Tracy will let
this sale over his head into theend zone for the touchback and Purdue will
have its best field position to starta possession in this opening quarter, but
it's twenty five yard line. Youknow what I love is when you start

(33:16):
looking at emphasize, emphasis and emphasizingthings, whether it's turnovers. You know
what last week, what'd you hearall week? You gotta get some turnovers?
Well, Valve comes down six turnoversfast start. I love it when
you see the players kind of takeon that message and the challenge that the
coaching staff put out, and it'spretty good starting for tonight. Huts and

(33:38):
Card. It's his offense onto thefield, Dylan downing. He's in there
at running back now from j Sheffieldslot to the rights and emotions left on
first down, Card reads it keepsabout the right side twenty five thirty Card
cutting across a thirty five yard lineand gets shopped to the turf by Preston

(33:58):
Zachman at the thirty seven and afan of first down well the thirty seven
yard line of Perdue first and tenboiler Makers in the pistol formation right now,
Card little play fake back, thethrow fires it to the right side

(34:21):
and that is caught into Wisconsin territoryat the forty five yard line of doer
Raman. Yes. Scene on thecatch at the forty five of Wisconsin.
First and ten Perdue, Yeah,a little too much time. They're a
good fake that delivered a little bitof extra time for Card to make that
throw. That's a big time throwin a hole in the zone. Boilermakers
on the move down fourteen and nothingto forty five left to the first quarter,

(34:45):
snap to Card, Badgers bringing alittle pressure or throw right seem a
low passing incomplete intended for Garrett andMiller at the twenty five yard line.
And as second and ten perdu atthe Wisconsin forty five. We saw some
guys at his feet and that's yeah, just getting bodies around the quarterback.

(35:05):
Don't give a clean pocket. Pia'sgot in there just enough to make him
short arm that throw. It wasa good look for their tight end and
the seam of the field. Millerwill beamed up on that play and comes
out on second down the hand offthe downing hole off the right side forty
thirty five to the thirty building downinginside the twenty five and finally taking to
the turf by Nisier for Cureene atthe twenty yard line of Wisconsin. So

(35:30):
the Boilermakers trying to punch back herelate to the first quarter. A lot
of room, A lot of roomagain that read option, you see it
and produe it. And nice tohave a pull in their guard kicking out
big run. Three receivers left, one on the right card takes the snamp
you'll give it the downing off theright side and hunts her Woller busting into

(35:50):
the backfield gets the tackle for loss, a loss of three to be exactly
the twenty three yard line up Wisconsin, second out of thirteen. So what
you're looking for from your impact players, Hey, you're bleeding a little bit,
produce moving the football. Let's getHunter Wall up on the line of
scrimmage. Let's have him cause somehavoc. You saw the quarterback try holding
that ball, trying to hold Hunterwater. He would have none of slot

(36:12):
right, slot left in the Badgertwenty three yard line. Second down,
Badgers bring a little corner pressure,a throw to the left side that's caught
by Tracy and the open field stopmade by Ricardo Halman right at the line
of scrimmage, which is the Wisconsintwenty three and it's third down in thirteen
with the Boilermakers shin good penetration bythe boys up front. They collapse that
pocket a little bit, made cartget rid of it a little bit quickly

(36:34):
the end. Then nice job inopen space. They're getting him because that
was only him. If he doesn'tget him down, still moving man movement
up front. As I think theBadgers were able to just get Purdue a
little jumpy. A false start calloffense number fifty four heard penalty. They're
down. That is Josh Kultonburger thecenter, gust Hartwig getting a little run

(37:00):
and Cultenberger in there now or actuallyCultenberger playing right guard now he has played
center for this Purdue team. Hartwigremains in there at center. So you
do that clap clap to try andget the defense to show what's going on.
But then when the defense does, maybe you as an alignment get a
little bit jumpy. That's what happenedthere. Picked up five for Wisconsin,

(37:20):
making it third much more long, third and eighteen for the Badger's twenty eight
yard line. Card hands off theTracy off the left side, twenty five
to the twenty yard line Tyrone.Tracy works his way to the seventeen Hunter
Wohler on the tackle and Purdue bringson the field goal team and they've got
a little issue. Then in thisarea, Ben free Hill so unavailable tonight.

(37:42):
He has handled the field goal kicking. So Julio Messius, a redshirt
freshman who's been there kickoff man,is about to attempt his first field goal.
This will be a thirty four yardtry from the left hash mark to
try to get the Boilermakers on theboard in the final minute of the first
quarters are down, there's this Anatlackspot and the kick is away and it

(38:05):
is good and they get three outof it. Courtesy of Julio Massias.
We'll step out seventeen seconds left tothe first quarter. Wisconsin fourteen per Due

as a touchdown Taste Right team ora gay successful farm Taste Right Tractors combines

believe Patrick Herb is ready to dropsome statistical knowledge at a What do you
got Patrick? I love a goodstatistical anomaly, and we've got one right
now that may not last for long, so I got to get it in
right now. The ten or Mordecaileads Wisconsin in rushing, passing, and

(38:51):
receiving all three categories. Passing fortwenty yards, rushing for twenty one,
and one reception for nineteen yards. That is an anomaly early candidate for our
difference maker of the game though.Right, that's a heck of a start.
But Will Pauling will say who threwthat past to ten? It was
I manager defense forces a field goalpromising drive from Purdue. Caleb Cluckover will

(39:21):
handle the kickoff duties. All theboy the Bakers now right here in West
Lafayette, redshirt junior him, RayDK and Vinnie Anthony are deep. All
the Badgers. I just look backat that drive and give Purdue credit.
They answered the belt. Wisconsin isgoing for a knock on. They got
points. Hunter Waller with that playon first down really stopped produce momentum.

(39:47):
It's crock Over on the approach andthe kick is away him Ray d K
will feel this about five yards deep, drops to his right knee and the
Badgers will start at their twenty fiveyard line. Twitter Mordecai with touchdown runs
of fourteen and six yards, amongother things he has done. As Patrick

(40:12):
was telling us about it, togo, yeah, now up front,
you know the guys they're feeling it. Purduees looking at it and they're thinking,
you have to stop the run.You have to do that that.
Now Phil long Ago can look atit and say, well, if you've
got that light the heavy box, this is the difference. Now you're gonna
start winging it a little bit,but you're gonna force Purdue to make sure

(40:32):
that they bring enough manpower to tryand stop this running game. They have
not been able to do it sofar. Trey Wedding now at left guard
for Joe Hubert, Michael Fertney backin at right guard. On first down,
they hand off Braylan Allen up themiddle, across the twenty five bangs
across the thirty up to the thirtytwo yard line. Dylane up to make
the tackle on what should be thefinal play of the good first quarter for
the Wisconsin Badger. Pauled Malm andthe right tackle and what produces doing they're

(40:57):
crashing their ends hard and both timesnow logging which means you look and that
gives Brylan Allen all kinds of spaceon the edge. You got vertical.

I'm Mike Kellers. The Brewers canclinch a playoff spot with a win tonight.
A twelve run second inning will helpgo a long way on that run.

(41:44):
They are up twelve nothing in Miami. The Cubs won earlier today,
so you can't clinch the division yet. Elsewhere in the Big Ten, it's
all tomorrow, highlighted by Iowa atPenn State and Ohio State on the road
out of conference against Notre Dame. Those are the highlight games on Saturday afternoon.
Yeah, Christian Yellows with a homerun getting back in the lineup tonight.

(42:05):
Good to see that Nards is aproud sponsor of Wisconsin Athletics who reminds
everyone to say big money on allyour home improvement needs. At Leonard's fourteen
three Wisconsin, we get set forthe second quarter, we check it again
with Patrick Kurr. Well, there'stwo disturbing trends that are carrying over if
you're a Purdue fan watching this game. Last week against Syric Hues, they
allowed the Syracuse quarterback Garrets Trader torush for one hundred and ninety five yards

(42:29):
and four touchdowns. They also werepenalized eleven times in that game. So
far through one quarter here, thosethings are carrying over that they have been
penalized four times in that first quarter. And as we've talked about a lot
Tanner Mordecai is hurting him with hisfeet twenty one yards and a pair of
scores. Vastly different quarterback then theyfaced last week for Syracuse, but some

(42:49):
of the same disturbing trends. Ifyou're a boiler Maker fan. Raylan Allen
four totes for twenty one yards,Chase Malusy three for sixteen. Hudson cards
six out of eight, but justtwenty seven yards through the air. Is
the Badgers just dominated at that firstquarter and trying to continue those dominant ways
offensively. He's starting the second Badgershave a second and three at their thirty

(43:12):
two yard line. Yeah, it'sjust been really glowing what the guys up
front have been doing. And ithad not been the case that these guys
set the tone, and I thoughtearly in these games, early in the
season, they have not. You'reseeing it tonight. There's movement. Guys
are kicking out guys, they're loggingguys. They're giving space for their quarterback
and running back slot right slot left, railing Allen. The running back to

(43:37):
the left of Tanda Morde. Guywho gets the shotgun stamp and he's gonna
pull it down and run hit behindthe line of scripts, bounces off the
tackle, the tip gets the firstdown up across the thirty five yard line,
thinking about to stop at the thirtysix good yards after contacts a nice
little patient run. There is designquarterback drag got brayling Allen leading up on
the mic. Guy getting the backfieldmade him kind of shimmy a little bit.

(44:00):
Didn't panic, got north and Southpicked up the first out. Skyler
Bell comes out slot to the right, Bryson Green wide to the right,
and first and ten Mordecai, well, wead it, keep it angles to
the right, flag down to thebackfield. Mordecai races to the boundary behind
the line of scrimmage. He hadnowhere to go, and they'll market right

(44:20):
apple line of scrimmage and thirty sixyard line. But see what we got
here holding a was sixty three primyfirst out. I'm guessing I'm not gonna
agree with this, but let's takea look. Would be the second Wisconsin
penalty. Purdue was hit four timesfor forty yards. I take that as

(44:42):
as you know. Listen, Iknow I'm a homer, and I get
he locked his guy out and whenMordecai ended up running around, it looked
as if and again you got Idon't know, is this a big acting
school Purdue, because he threw hishead back like he had been don't agree.
I got that impression on first down, the hand off, the Allan

(45:04):
hit behind the line of scrimmage, trying the left side there on first streets
twenty weeks and he's able to getto the twenty nine yard line second down
in seventeen for Wisconsin. I rememberit was gonna bring more bodies down into
the box, and that was Braylanjust kind of ran into his guy.
I was able to pick up acouple not great up front there on that

(45:25):
one. So j Williams out tothe left, Bryson Green to the right,
Scaller Bell slot to the right,Hayden Roucie the tight end motions left
to right. On second down inthe long Watercai, we'll fake the hand
off to Thrailan looking close to Alanright side. So I has to turn
it up across the thirty five andforced out of bounds at about the thirty

(45:45):
seven or thirty eight yard line inWisconsin territory. So doable here it's still
third and long, third down toabout eight. Does the Badgers getting behind
the chain here after that, holdingkind of league third and eight Wisconsin from
its own thirty eight yard I likethat for brailing a lot better. Early
in the season, we've seen alot of swing passes where you're asking to

(46:06):
beat make a bunch of guys missessspace there, got up the field a
little bit, nice easy catch, got north and south and you got a
manageable third down after the holding caughtthree receivers left one on the right snap
the board of Kai Purdue rushing forTenner with time look shoots it to the
left and it is caught by c. J. Williams, who trying to
measure it was boll tross Alisandro forthe i NT. But the past got

(46:30):
to Williams in time and CJ.On his knees gets the first down at
the Purdue forty seven yard line.Very fortunate right there. That was really
good coverage, great focus there tobe able to bring that in. That
was very lucky, but it worked. Manage is now four of four converting
on third down, first and tenat to Purdue forty seven yard line.

(46:52):
Bell slot left, CJ. Williamswide lefts Braylan Allen to the left of
the quarterback Mordecai. We'll hand itto Allan up the left. Hash marks
inside the forty five and he leansto the forty one yard line of Burnue
Snocy Kane out of the secondary upto make the tackle. The plays at

(47:15):
the forty two of the Boilermakers again of five second down coming up with
the Badgers board left tackle Nelson againkicked out and that was really nifty footwork
by Braylan double cut, a bouncecut and then just got north and south.
Second down in ten. Lucy inthe backfield down more to cover the
past that's deflected incomplete, just gotsmacked right at the line of scrimmage and

(47:40):
it's now third down in five forWisconsin. That looked like that might have
been Suleiman PoCA the defensive line thinkingto play board Perdue. Yeah, Bordelini
had his hands outside a little bit, got him back in and Bordecai was
looking over the middle. Here ad lineman, you get stopped on your
pastors. Get that big pawp redMordegai's eyes and was able to bat it

(48:00):
down three receivers right, one onthe left, third and five Wisconsin at
to produce forty two yard line.Lucy is the running back as Mordecai gets
the snap as a chess, getsthe left edge forty thirty five to the
thirty yard line and out of boundscorts and forces me Lucy out of the
twenty nine on the far side asanother first down. The Badger's five for

(48:22):
five converting on third down great jobby the left side of Wisconsin's offensive line
against Jack Nelson been saying that namea lot. He had his guy locked
up and put him on skates. That gave the edge for Brayling to pick
up the first down and a lotmore eleven twenty left and a half fourteen
to three Wisconsin Badgers a first andten at to produce twenty nine yard line.

(48:44):
Mordecai back to throw three man rushTanner looking now he'll toss it to
the right, caught by Bryson Greenand he gets sandwiched at the twenty seven
yard line. Markisius Brown is therealong with Cadren Jenkins be back in a
linebacker, respectively. A game oftwo second down and eight. It's twenty

(49:05):
seven of the boiler Maker berdus havinga really hard time trying to generate any
type of pass us there. Whatthey're trying to do is get the nose
on Bordelini, thinking they can winthat battle, spreading it out rushing three.
Bordelini locking up the nose and thenyou have two guys on each Rushing
three is not working. Wisconsin pullingup really well. Morde guy surveys the
defense on second down, Tanner looksto throw and shoots into the left.

(49:28):
That's caught by C. J.Williams trying to break three. Cannot good
stop in the open field by MarquisWilson at the twenty yard line. Third
down and one, CJA had designs. I'm breaking that and taking into the
house. That was a designed run. Mordecai saw something. Purdue brought another
guy down in the box, justtook the easy pitch at tench and nice

(49:51):
job by Purdue getting him down onthe ground. Otherwise that's a tutter because
but he did get him down, setting up a third and one. Well,
that's one a yard line at Purdue, Mordecai. We'll give it to
Lucy and he'll squeeze through for thefirst down. Needed one, got two
Sanusi Kane with help on the tackle, and it's a first and ten Wisconsin

(50:12):
at the eighteen yard line. Thistrip to the Red Zelle brought to you
by case I H who was acasehdot com slash Badgers. Nine thirty nine
left and a half, fourteen tothree Wisconsin. That's just a good,
hard, physical run. There wasnot much there. Third and one produced
selling out to try and stop itMelussy was having done up. It's twelfth
play of the drive coming up.Its anyther Bell slot left, potions right

(50:36):
the first down. Mordechai reads it. Keezer angles to his right close to
Skyler Bell inside the fifteen yard line. Cam Allen with help will check Bell
out of bounds at the ten yardline of Purdue on a gain of eight.
Just really alert smart. Mordecai makeshis read, sees that the end
crashes down, pulls the fall outSkyler Bell out in the flat, makes

(50:59):
a guy miss gets harticle picks upwhat eight eight yards yep, second and
two at the perdue ten yard line. Ellslot left, Richie slot, Ryan
shotgun staffter Mordecai three man rush Tannereven through traffic, cutting left inside the
ten yard line and he gets belted. Looks like shorts of the first down.
It'll be third down and about ayard here for Wisconsin. Yeah.

(51:23):
Unfortunately, nicely drawn up play quarterbackdraw and unfortunately Trey just missed his linebacker.
If he picks that block up,I think Mordecai scores. It happens
there's out in space and that setsup a third and very short Kadron Jenkins

(52:07):
That's your Ford Dealer Bull Brevard, the injured Purdue Boilermaker Joe Anderson now on
the defensive line for Purdue. Fourteento three, Wisconsin leading with a thirty
seven left in the first half. The Badgers have a third and one at
the Purdue nine. Really seeing alot of design plays and with what Purdues

(52:30):
doing on defense. Tanner Mordecai's legsbig part of this game plan. Two
tight ends Rouci and Ashcraft out therefor Wisconsin. Like that three with Sea
Grease. Here's the handoff Raylan Allenon third and one, crashing into the
line, hits the first down atthe seven yard line, first down,
goal to go. As the Badgersnow seven out of seven converting on third

(52:52):
down. That's you want to startfast and you want a bunch of plays
converting on those third downs. It'sbeen pretty m it has not been smooth.
So before tonight's game, seven forseven is about as good as it
gets. Smiler Bell slot rights,Rson Green wide to the right. See

(53:12):
j Williams out to the left onfirst him to look at seven as Kendally
markers fly pre snap well start offensenumber seventy one, five yard first did
Riley Malman here? But we goback to the point Luke Fickle was making

(53:35):
to his team tous We touched onit before the opening kicked of more physical
team wins. We talk about, you know, pretty ball air raid this,
and that it's still about being physicaland Wisconsin is definitely winning. That
beat always comes down to that.If tonight didn't wait around, you didn't
wait till the third quarter. Hegot after him right away and it's been
showing up. I'll try to finishthis drive first and bowl at the twelve.

(53:55):
Allen and there running back Mordecai. We'll get it to Ailan over the
right side. Pass his way insidethe ten of the nine, but another
penalty flag is thrown, holding offensenumber eighty seventy penalty. It's the first

(54:19):
time good Hayden Roucie here is nowit's the Badgers making life difficults on themselves.
You know what, That's a hole? Do you agree with that?
Yeah? That was a formed tackle. It was it was Hayden's job to
cut off that backside end. Youpulled the tackle, so the defensive end
is reading. It comes hard acrossthe face, and Hayden didn't want to

(54:42):
allow it to get into the backfield, so he tackled him. I don't
know if this is the first timeever that I've agreed with the Wisconsin holding
call, but that was a hole. I'm glad I'm sitting down. Cadrin
Jenkins, outside linebacker, who wasbanged up last week against Syracuse. We
just got dinged up a little bitthat last place. So he's over on
the sideline and it's still first ingoal, but they're at the twenty two

(55:06):
yard line, so receivers either sideon first down for Mordecai looking, he's
gonna now run it up the middleof the twenty to the fifteen yard line
and Mordecai again continues to get itdone as a runner down to the fourteen
yard line. Nick Schwartzon on thetackle, second and goal at the fourteen
taking a little nervous, what thehits he's taken? He's taking a Yeah.

(55:27):
I love the fact you're utilizing askill set that he has running it.
You're doing a lot of design dropplays and obviously that picked up a
bunch of yards. But Tanner hastaken They're getting after him. They're hitting
him hard. Slide seven carries forthirty four yards for Mordecai. Allen in
there to the right of the QB. Heydon Rucci and motion left to right

(55:49):
and second down, goal to go. Mordecai hands at the Allen over the
left side of the ten. Allento the five, Alan to the in
zone, touchdown Wisconsin. Braylan Allentakes it in from fourteen yards and it's
twenty to three Wisconsin. Man wasthat beautiful pulled right guard, pulled right
tackle, kickout, kickout, andthen Braylan saw the hole burst through it

(56:09):
and then didn't let a shoe stringtackle at the end of it. He
made sure he picked his feet up. That was executed at a very high
level. Great job by the guysup front Wisconsin Badger's offense. It was
so impressive here in the first halftonights. Nathaniel Vaco's signed for the pat

been a priority for this team, and that takes different forms. One way,
it's finishing the fourth quarter. Finishingalso could be finishing a drive,
and that's something that we've seen thisyear's Badgers really excel at. They're now
fifteen for fifteen on scoring trips tothe red zone with twelve touchdowns and three
field goals. Last week against GeorgiaSouthern, a perfect five for five on
touchdowns in the red zone. Again, they've done it three for three here

(58:00):
tonight, including that last dride evenmore impressible and they got backed up first
and goal at the twenty two. This team has an edge towards finishing,
and maybe all that offseason talk he'shelping in that category, all right.
Jack Van Dyke said to kick off, you have those twelve touchdowns in his
fifteen red zone trips. That reallygets your attention. As Van Dyke with
his high end, over end kickand will sail into the end zone untouched

(58:22):
for the touch back, and theBoolamakers will start at their twenty five yard
line. Yeah, it really impressive. Obviously, sixteen play, seventy five
yards, eight minutes and forty oneseconds. This is not an operation that
cares a bunch about time of possession. But you know who does love that,
the defense. And now you getthat lead. Now you can go
hunt, you can go after they'regonna think they're gonna be throwing the football,

(58:45):
but to overcome the false start andthe holding penalty and get in and
go score a touchdown, big timefinish shoot by the offense by from Wisconsin.
There a Hudson card leads the offenseback out there, Devin macabe the
run back to receiver's ride one onthe left, card back to throw under
pressure James Thompson Junior and see JayGets just bursting into the backfield for the

(59:09):
sack bell mark at the seventeen yardline, loss of eights. You just
keep seeing Thompson showing up and yousaw it out in pullman. You've seen
it, and that confidence continues togrow. He just has him one on
one and whooped his guy got intothe backfield. A little bit of help
from Gets getting him down, puttinghim in a long second down position.

(59:29):
Josh Coultonburger is the center now forthe Boilermakers. Gus Hardwig got the start,
so his first action since last season. Coldenburger is in there now a
second down and long card back tothrow Badgers sending four card throws over the
middle and that's caught by Max Claire. He got hit right away by Jordan
Turner across the twenty five yard lineof the twenty six up per due to

(59:52):
bring up third down and nine tothe Boilermakers five forty two left and a
half twenty one three Wisconsin. Theyactually placed it at the twenty five of
produce and make a third and ten. Didn't look like they're ten was all
that interested. He had a littlesandwich action with Turner and Cheney bringing it
to him, getting him down rightaway. Sheffield slot left's Claire slot right.
A third down and ten snapped thecard brush your up the middle from

(01:00:15):
Jordan Turner. Card gets away andhe'll pull it down across the twenty five
cutting right thirty yard line. JamesThompson Junior drives him to the turf at
the thirty three of Purdue. It'sfourth down and two and Ryan Walters will
send on the punning team, andyou're wondering about this. Purdue has,
among other things, struggled mightily convertingin short yardage of situations. Are you're

(01:00:38):
thinking he would gamble there? Let'ssee if they try something funky on the
punt, but trying to They justhave not been good in short yardage this
year, and Wisconsin kept the defenseout there. They're they're thinking the same
thing you are, Matt. Thisis a gimmick. Time and sell the
funner steps up, kick is away, end over end, DK signals for
the fair catch, and he'll makeit at about the twenty six yard line

(01:01:00):
in Wisconsin territory. That was aforty two yard punt. Are you ready

outfit is this guy got on downhere kicking it's He looks like Ronald McDonald
and Big Bird, kind of acombo platter running around. What are we
do it out here? They're runningaround kicking field goals. I'll tell you
what. It was entertaining for us, and it was also entertaining to watch

(01:02:07):
Thompson there on that last drive.Yeah, we've talked a lot about him.
I think he's emerging and talking tocoach Scrugs, the D line coach,
he likes what Thompson has been doing, and that drive was a great
kind of characterization of his growth.Makes the sack and then they pick up
a first down. If he's nothustling, he hustles back after a cart

(01:02:27):
eludes the pass rush, hustles downand forces a punt. And in a
game like this, it's twenty onethree, this is where you go for
throats and Wisconsin's offense is right thereto step on it, and Thompson was
able to hustle get Purdue off thefield, and now Wisconsin starts where at
the twenty five with a chance toreally blow this thing open. One hundred

(01:02:47):
ninety yards of offense for Wisconsin, ninety seven for Purdue. So you're saying
that that would not be your timeout if they do something like that,
You wouldn't do that. Yeah, throw balls around. This guy just got
done sprinting. I imagine his quadevery sprinting around, kicking field goals fast.
And then he's dressed in like something. I don't know what kind of

(01:03:09):
outfit that was. It looks likeone of those pajama bottom where you get
to shoot the socks in it.See what you get to view now on
the road in but it's plush. It looked very cough, beautiful thing.
Chaz Well Ducie in there running backon first down. Mordecai with all option
to look like he's gonna keep it, turn it and pay for it,
gets hit in about the twenty eightyard line. Sanusi Kane Dylan theeneman out

(01:03:31):
of the secondary on the tackle gainof three second and seven Badgers at their
twenty eight we joke a lot aboutthe byeweek coming at a perfect time.
Well, Tanner Mordecai is taking somehits. He has been great running the
football. They're just a sprint leftoption and he decided to turn it up,
which was the right read and Perdutaside. Today We're gonna keep hitting
you, and I love Tanner's toughnessyear. He's taking a lot of hits.

(01:03:53):
Skyler Bell slot to the right tothe Badger twenty eight yard lines.
I get down in seven to snapback the Mordecai look again, a little
step through left to get some space, throws to his right and that's Price
and Green up across the thirty yardline. Marquise Wilson will stop the progress.
At the thirty two of Wisconsin, they bring up third down and three.

(01:04:14):
Really impressed there again. The oldline does a really nice job at
given Tanner plenty of time he thoughtabout running, and it's almost like you
put his plant leg in the ground, his front foot in the ground to
stop and then wong it. Reallynice job there by Tanner Man Michael Fert
either right guard coming up a littlebit early jump out here in Watt Lafayette.

(01:04:39):
That's what cosse Wisconsin. Five yards. We'll start offense umbo seventy nine
love here at Fenerty's third down,it was actually I think on Michael Jack
is sitting there giving me that falsestart. We'll give Jack a break there.
If you don't jump and they callit on you. You don't want

(01:04:59):
to sell out your buddy, butyou also I don't want that out of
my staff line. So they getthird down and eight for the Badgers out
there, twenty seven yard lines. You think keep his third down conversion streak
going. I have to work forit. Will Pauling slot left, Skyler
Bell slot right, chasm Lucy inthere running back in the Wisconsin twenty seven
yard line, third down and eights. Nakai calls for the ball, gets

(01:05:23):
the snap from Bordelini. Tanner lookingfires through the left that is caught by
Will Pauling and he will fight forthe first down and he will get it.
He outfights Marquivius Brown. He caughtit at the thirty four. He
needed the thirty five. He tookit to the thirty six, first down
in Wisconsin with three minutes left tothe half. One of the things you
won't notice has a great great effortby Pauling was stop Shorp got it,

(01:05:46):
but the wide receivers on the otherside. I think it was Skyler Bell
pointing out hey Blitz coming from thisside. Tanner Season was able to make
that adjustment and make the throw.Great effort by all the wide uts on
that plane. Two forty three leftin the half twenty one to three Wisconsin
with the Badger's thirty six yard linefirst and ten, Mordechai fakes the hand
off to the Lucy shot play rightside and it is in complete intended for

(01:06:08):
Skyler Bell. Oh. It lookedlike a beautiful pass, but Bell could
not bring it into the twenty fiveyard Linelandeer's side. Second down in ten
Wisconsin at Wisconsin pulled their lineman showedrun. Mordecai saw something he liked and
I think he dropped that right inthe bucket for Skyler. Let's see,
yeah, all right there, Skylerhad a step and a half. Mordecai

(01:06:30):
put it right out there and itjust out of Skyler's hand. Beautiful throw
there by Tanner Martin stops the clockwith two thirty three left and a half
second down in ten for the Badgersat their thirty six yard line, Bell
slot right, Bryson Green wide tothe right, throughout to the left as
well. Go the lay of gamehere. Kind of kind of a second

(01:07:00):
down the Badgers have become penalty plaguedhere. It hasn't hurt them so far
tonight, but kind of playing withfire there second down and fifteen Badgers at
their thirty one yard line. That'ssomething you don't think happens all. It's
ten fold and hitting up to theline of scrimmage, but that's what you
take. A big shot down thefield and a disappointment sometimes takes a little

(01:07:21):
time to get back in, geteverything settled. And you're saying it so
far though, even with all thepenalties, the holds and the fall starts,
Wisconsin has been able to overcome allof it and continue to be perfect
on third down eight per each Andthere was Mordecai swinging and left the lucy
the catch and they got hit rightaway. Why Alessandro at the thirty yard

(01:07:44):
line and now perdue will burn atime out as the Badgers will be facing
a third down in about sixteen yardsto go. First charge time out for
the Boilermakers with two twenty six leftin the half, twenty one to three
Wisconsin. We will hold it here. TV will go to a break.
But I believe we have used allof our first half commercial opportunities to twenty

(01:08:10):
nine left to the first half twentyone three Wisconsin leading perdue. But you
just look at how this first halfhas went. And I've been really impressed
with Towner Mordecai all season. Ithought what he did out in Washington State
that third quarter and fourth quarter inthe leadership that he's shown. But tonight
you're seeing a whole nother level. You know what he's been with his decision

(01:08:33):
making, and obviously it's been reallyimpressive of what he's done with his legs.
But that last play, he keepshis eyes down the field, he
keeps his shoulders square to the lineof scrimmage. We can make those throws
and he just you're seeing that dynamicplaymaking ability that he's had. You're seeing
it in all different phases tonight forthis Wisconsin Badger. And we've talked about

(01:08:54):
the Badger's ability to convert on thirddown eight for eights, we've put all
that together. They've doubled up pertwo and plays run thirty six to eighteen
more than doubled them up in totaloffense two o five to ninety seven.
Yeah, that's that's been the thing, because we talk a lot about all
of this starting fast and you know, getting brailing going and getting the ball

(01:09:17):
to the wide outs more. Youhave to run plays. You have to
get plays, and that was oneof the things. It just been way
too inconsistent tonight. Right from thejump. You get that first first down.
I'm really convinced you get that, and everybody can just take a breath.
And then if you just start feelingit. And when Patrick was talking
about the old line feeling it comingoff on the sideline, they feed off

(01:09:41):
of that because old lineman, wethink a lot and when you're out there
on the field and oh what thisjust happened. Oh this, But when
it's the other way, you startfeeling it the other way, you start
thinking great things. And we've seenthat the line of scrimmage. I don't
know Mordecai has been taking hits, but it's ten yards down the field after
he's running. His pocket have beenvery clean when he's been He's had all
kinds of time in a matter offact, he's been scrambling because he's had

(01:10:05):
so much time. Wisconsin's group upfront has been the story of this first
half for me. Winnie throws,Mordecai is ten out of fourteen for seventy
three yards and again a lot ofguys getting involved. Seven different receivers led
by C. J. Williams withthree catches. Well, the Badgers have

(01:10:25):
their work cut out for him toconvert here. We mentioned their eight for
eight on third down. They havea third and sixteen right now at their
thirty yard line. What do youthink of this DJ club field that they
got here? They dim the lightsflashing and I kind of like it.
The stadium looks at you get thatenergy. I can understand why pretty who
likes doing you? Kind of like, do you like dimming the lights?

(01:10:45):
Kind of giving it that Strove fieldstrove feeling. I feel like I should
grab a bowling ball and head outand see it where my bowling game is
at it it is, though,There is something about this place for me.
One of my favorite games I everplayed at Wisconsin was here and one
of the more meaningful ones. Ilove it. Just hit great vibes coming

(01:11:06):
over here today A ninety nine game, Ron Dane all but shield his Heisman
Trophy winning season. That big fanof that horn, though train horn that
they got. Well, you're doubtingthe largest drum. Well, at least
you like the light light. Threereceivers left, one on the right,

(01:11:27):
Brdecai back to throw, looking you'llpull it down thirty weaving right, thirty
five, Mordecai up across the fortyyard line and up to the forty three
and that's going to be about threeor four yard shy, depending on the
spot. As the Boilermakers looks likethey'll use their second time out with two
fifteen remaining. Again, the protectionand what I've really loved my guy Bordelini.

(01:11:50):
I just love how he's playing tonight. They're putting a guy right on
it and from a center standpoint.Typically, pass blocking's fun because you can
go people and you don't have anybodyover the top of you. They're saying
man up in What Wisconsin's doing issaying we're gonna let our guards go help
our tackles. We think tanner portlinehe's gonna hold up and he has that

(01:12:11):
protection has been so good. Iwould like to see it. I am
not a helicopter parent by any stretch. I want you being aggressive, I
want you going for first downs, but hey, Mordecai, let's get down
in those positions. He continues, there is a case of what getting the
first down? Love that competitive spirit, but I don't want to see him
keep taking all these Yeah, Igot a long way to go in the

(01:12:33):
season. Badger's punting for the firsttime tonights. Atticus Bertram is on for
Wisconsin. Lie to scrimmage the fortytwo of the Badgers where it's fourth down
and four snap. The Bertin's penaltymarkers fly and hold everything snapped full start

(01:12:56):
offense, Little six five year colonel, it's gonna be the seventh penalty against
Wisconsin in this first half for fortyfive yards. Not typical of what Wisconsin's
doing and getting coaches, if youcould throw up twenty one you have a
lead like this, there's always youalways want coaching points. This has been

(01:13:17):
a very sloppy half, but it'sbeen impressive what Wisconsin's been able to overcome
with all that slot. DJ Sheffieldis deep for Purdue at the Boilermaker's twenty
seventh yard line and now ay timeout taken by Luke Fickle, and there's
the Badgers. Well, they haven'tpun at all night, so they're just

(01:13:39):
trying to get that squared away here. Well, and Purdue overloaded. They
went and then put a bunch ofcats over on the left side of Wisconsin's
formation. Luke Fickle, here isthe deal here, you're sitting here two
fifteen up eighteen. Hey, wait, don't take those those time timeouts.
Don't need to fly home with youuse it. Make sure you're short up,
because the last thing you want todo here is have some communications or

(01:14:00):
something. Letting his special teams playspark this produced team because right now all
the momentum is with the Wisconsin baths. Yeah, you want to keep it
that way because the Badgers will getthe kickoff to start the second half.
See they like sweet Caroline here tootsout, that's a great song. Yeah,
now they should have the lighting systemgoing with sweet kickside too, Badger

(01:14:26):
fans chiming in. All right, here we go, snap to atticas perch
rooms and the kick is away.Sheffield racing to his left. Let's it
hit inside. It's twenty inside. The fifteen were inside the ten Vinny Anthony
Peter baltin Avic surrounded and that iswell done from birch Rooms. They'll kill
it at the three yard line asixty yard punch from the freshman Attica is

(01:14:50):
after a shaky first games picked itup here in the last couple average at
about forty one per and that certainlyhelp did right there? Or is the
boiler Makers start at their three yardline? Oh? Now that changes the
whole complexion at its Purdue used it'stimeout, so you got two minutes and
two seconds left. You're pinned downat the three. Now Wisconsin thinks let's

(01:15:13):
get a stop and get the ballback. Produce. Still gonna be curious
how aggressive they're gonna be with Wisconsindominating the line of scrimmage the way they
have here. I think I'm gonnacall turnover coming here, Matt, there
you go. I like it.Badgers have two timeouts available. Berks in
motion of the ride back to throwher or her card rather throwing incomplete as
he was pressured in the backfield byDarryl Peterson, as card was able to

(01:15:40):
get outside the pocket and get thepass beyond the line of scrimmage, thus
waiting to safe it. Pretty typepocket. I actually think there was a
receiver in the area too, soI'm not gonna get too upset about it.
But nice job by Peterson just gettingback. They're making him get rid
of it quick. On the threeyard line of Purdue Hudson, Card and
Company is second down and ten andat fifty seven left and a half twenty

(01:16:01):
one to three Wisconsin leading to PurdueBoilermakers. Two receivers right, one on
the left by hand off, cameto the line Tyrone Tracy up across the
five yard line and up near theten. Daryl Peterson drives him into the
turf. They'll mark at the nineon a gain of six. Third down
and four for the Boilermakers. Clockrunning a minute forty left in the first

(01:16:25):
half. Make third down here, three receivers right one on the left block
running a minute thirty left in thefirst half. Now it's pur June kind
of bleeding the clock a little bit. Whay clock is at thirteen. Card
takes back to throw four man RuSHAthrow over the middle of next spot by
Burke's first down across the twenty andup to the twenty five yard line.

(01:16:47):
Alexanders Smith hunts Waller on the stopfirst down for the Boilermakers with a minute
fifteen left to the half. Clockdoes stop on first downs in the final
two minutes of each half. Howit runs when at thirteen remaining, hard
back to throw four man rush hardunder pressure, throws to the left,
that's caught by Tracy and he issmack right away by Alexander Smith of the
thirty three yard line timeout Perdue, and that's the final time out for the

(01:17:12):
Ballomakers. It was a gain ofeight to the thirty three of Perdue.
It's second day owner and two.I don't have any problem with how that
all played out. I was wonderingas Luke Fickell I was watching him.
He was over by the ref onthat prior to that third down, and
I like the fact because you'd havetwo timeouts. If you didn't stop him
there, you would have been ableto get in the wall back and have
another time out. Purdue picked itup nicely done, but right there,

(01:17:38):
good pressure on the quarterback and againyou give up seven or eight underneath,
but a sure tackle right after.I really think the tackling in this half
it's been the best we've seen allseason, and that's why you're seeing as
much success as we've seen in thisfirst half. It's one of the things
he was talking about last week twowith the turnovers. He just liked the
way that they tackled, how theyleveraged the ball, a couple of areas

(01:18:00):
he wasn't thrilled with in the firsttwo games. So getting a little bit
better each week, still work tobe done. One oh five left of
the first half, twenty one threeWisconsin second down and two for the Boilermakers
at their thirty three yard line.Gus Hartwig back in there at center by
the way for the Boilermakers. Cardtakes a snap address sending for Card looks
close to the right hand that isalmost intercepted Jordan Turner, who got his

(01:18:26):
mits on it, could not gatherit near the forty five yard line.
A near turnover there. It endsup in complete with one minute left in
the first half, right through hishands at really good drop on the zone
there, reading the quarterback's eyes, let's see it get him, give another
shot him well. On the thirtythree of per duo third down and two

(01:18:47):
one minute left first half, Adger'sup by eighteen slot rights slot lefts Hard
gets some organized with a play clockeddown to five, takes the snap,
bakes the handoff, looking under pressureto his ride. Got away from one,
gets away from two run down byc J gets and that'll be a

(01:19:08):
first down for a Hudson card withthe yard to spare forty nine seconds left
in the first half. First andten per Dwo at its own thirty six
yard line block running forty eight secondsleft in the half. Snap to card
for a man Wisconsin rush. Cardlooks, drops it off right side.
Dylan down in the catch the fortyyard line, races to the boundary,

(01:19:28):
gets there Jack Chaney forcing the issueat the forty one yard line of perdue
game of five. It'll stop theclock with thirty seven seconds left in the
half. Card seck of an athlete. He has done a really good job
of avoiding some of these rushes andsome of these hits, and there's a
nice job of eluding some of that. Russians able to get rid of it

the half. Cheney Cheney got cutby the running back, but pop back

(01:20:11):

Card to throw left side toss andit's incomplete. In traffic coverage from
Wohler and Alexander Smith, it wasintended for Deon Burke's second and ten for
the Wisconsin forty five with twenty oneseconds left of the half twenty one to
three Wisconsin. Smith did a reallynice job of reading it and then just

(01:20:34):
kind of sitting back into a spotand was able to tip it before.
Yeah, nice little job at tippingthat football, not allowing for new to
complete it. Neil Dry and Varneron the defensive line. I'm setting up
the defense, but in the meantime, Deon Burks was solid three or four

(01:20:56):
minutes ahead of the snap. There. The Badgers will gladly take that.
I'll leave the false start now.I'll Purdue has it at the fifty and
Jeff Petrosky and Kayden Johnson in thereat the outside linebacker spots, or at
least you did. And now Kaydencomes out. Badgers have their dollar package

(01:21:16):
three safeties out there right now.See Jay Sheffield's a lot left motions right
snapped the card. Badgers rush forthe car, but the tight pocket looking
for room angles left forty five tothe forty car down near the thirty five
of Wisconsin. Jake Cheney brought himdown at the thirty six our yard short
eight seconds left to the half clockrunning. They have no time outs.

(01:21:38):
Five seconds left to the half. They're gonna run the play card looking to
throw sets fires deep right side andit is intercepted at the goal line by
Wisconsin. They wanted a penalty, they didn't get it. The Badgers get
the pick at the end of thefirst half. It was intended for Jaden

Badgers will go into the locker roomleading by eighteen points. As coming up

Fickle. A lot of talk allweek about starting fast. How do you
think your team started that half? All wait, we did a good job,
you know. Offense obviously set thetone a little bit for us.
We've got some three and ounce defensively, but we got we gotta come back
out the second half play ball. We've been talking all half on the broadcast
about an offensive line dominating the lineof scrimmage. You talked about physicality.

(01:23:43):
Did they measure up to what youwere hoping? Yeah, yeah, we
we gotta clean some things. That'llwe put ourselves in some tough situations with
a few too many penalties. Butthey definitely I think have done a really
good job in the first half ofcontrolling the line scrimmage. All right,
thanks comach, good luck second halfguys, Thank you very much. The

coaches talk with Patrick there at twentyone three, and I legit love the

(01:24:30):
fact that it's yeah, that's great, but clean this up and clear.
That's the mentality you want you Thatfirst half went about as well as you
could hope. There were some penalties. You have to clean things up,
but that eight for nine and theamount of plays that you get because you're
eight for nine on third down, that's what you were looking for. And
I know as coaches you're always lookingfor things to clean up, but you're

(01:24:53):
also super excited when you know you'regetting through to your guys. And this
first half they hear all the samestuff that we do, and I'll start
and slow and all. When youcan do what they did, that means
you're kidding through to them. Andas a coach man, that makes you
feel good. So now, allright, we've been really good in the
third quarter forty eight to seven.Everything else, Let's do it again.

(01:25:15):
Make it a full on game andthen that confidence can continue to build.
Not to be lost to this wasRicardo Halman getting that interception at the goal

(01:25:58):
of that hoity toity, that soundsmore of the pay is to me the
full tea. Well, Heller's allover it too. I can see that
you are boats are boat guys,a little Christopher Cross, little seals and
called Little River band, you know, just kind of a mellow uh,
you know, sipping your wine withyour pinky out and I'm telling people to

(01:26:19):
bring you a finger sandwiches. Yeah, I could see you guys quote the
yeah, and you don't when wewould ask for that, you know,
we would get the fingers. Yes, I know how that works. So
I'm glad I could enlightened you.You know, YADDI rock. So what
station is that? What? Ican't remember what number it is, but
well, I'm sure somebody will addWhen I want to feel older than I

(01:26:41):
already do, I'm gonna make sureI tune that station in and make sure
I enjoy Yaddi rock. But Ihave thoroughly enjoyed this first half of football.
It's been it was it felt likethe third quarters have been. And
you just feel the energy that thisgroup in the confidence that they're playing with.
Now it's validation time. This iswhere you need to really pick it

(01:27:02):
up because you don't Purdue. They'refeeling like Wisconsin felt earlier in this season
coming out of the half. Yeah, keep bet goaling here. Twenty one
three Wisconsin. Caleb Crockover is setto kickoff him Ray DK, Benny Anthony
or keep four Wisconsin and the kickis in the air, stewing it towards
two K and Jim will catch rightsout of the goal line to the five

(01:27:24):
ten DK fifteen up across It's twentycutting left, twenty five, slifts to
tackle, shoots it between the hashmarks across the thirty and driven down near
the thirty five yard line. Allmark at the thirty four and an ice
return for Jim Ray DK. Thesecond half is underway. Nifty return there.
I always anytime it goes into theend zone, you're thinking, I
just taking at the twenty five.Let's move forward. But Jim decided I'm

(01:27:46):
gonna send a spark, just liketo start the game, our kickoff teams
sent a little message to Purdue, pinning him inside the twenty. Now Jim
does it, getting us outside thethirty about the thirty four yard line to
get this drive start. Mordecai bringshim out there. Braylan Allen will line
up to his lefts Well pauling slotleft him, Ray dk Why to the
left, Rice and Green to theright tight end Hayden Rouchie in the slot.

(01:28:10):
First down hand off, Braylan Allengot hit behind the line of scrimmage
trying to muscle his way for ayard. That's about all he'll get.
Nick Scartson gets in there defensively alongwith Isaac Nichols on the defensive line,
being of one a hard yard forAlan's second down coming up. Kind of
the first time that we saw alittle bit of penetration. Tell you,
Perdue probably got their tails yelled ata little bit in the locker room.

(01:28:31):
They're coming out a little bit ofenergy Paul jack Nelson there. It ended
up getting bubbled back because there's alittle penetration in the method or receivers right
and one on the left. Snapthe Mordicai on second and nine foot shot
right side, caught by Pauling andhe got pop right away by Mark east
Wilson at the thirty nine yard line, gain of four. Third down and
five with the Badgers. Now,the question is can you keep that momentum

(01:28:53):
going. The third downs have beenso good at eight and nine in the
first half, that's been a strugglepoint. Here's where you set the tone.
You're gonna play this second half ofthe thirty nine of Wisconsin. Third
down in five, Fawling, Rouchieand DK to the lefts Green to the
right, Mordecai takes He'll hand itto Blaylan off the right side. First
down in more forty five fifty alongthat I was breaks and tackle. He's

(01:29:15):
to the forty halo to the thirtyfoot race to Leenson. Allen trupped up
inside the ten yard line, touchdownsaving tackle by Kadron Jenkins by Braylan Allen
with a big run first and goalfor Wisconsin. Tone center, that's what
we're talking about. It's third fortydecided to go with the run game,
get Braylan Allen off the right side. Nice job by Malman that was stopped

(01:29:39):
right around the first down, andall of a sudden Braylan shoots out of
there and picks up almost got allthe way home with fifty two yards for
Braylon Allen. Ala Badgers with JacksonAker in the backfield along with Alan.
On first down, goal to go, Lordecai takes the handoff, clips into

(01:30:00):
the left. That's Acre at thenear the five yard line, gets taken
down by Botross Alessandro's Jackson Acerty Richard'ssophomore out of Verona, being of about
three of the play to the sixsecond down and goal for Wisconsin. Yeah,
you get Mordecai out in space. You kind of decided to leak Acre
back out to the left. Yousold the run for Braylon two way go

(01:30:25):
there, putting a lot of pressureon the depend that pretty well Allen to
the left of the quarterback on thesecond and goal. Mordecai looks the throw,
looks right, looks left, pullsit down, angles left. Mordecai
to the five. Mordecai racing thechalk and is out of bounds at about
the two yard line, where it'sthird and goal is tripped to the red
zell. Brought to you by caseIH. Visitcaseih dot com slash Badgers.

(01:30:49):
Really good decision there by Tanner gettingthe protection held up for a long time.
You're thinking two three seconds is typicallywhat the normal patence would be on
a protection scheme. Wisconsin's only gamefour five seconds. Their tanner didn't see
it, didn't force it was ableto go pick up a couple of yards.
Setting up here at thirty two rollPauline starts emotional left, comes back

(01:31:11):
the other way. Morti Gui backto throw under pressure, throws it away
incomplete. They got heat on thequarterback and a penalty mark. Two penalty
markers fly in the end zone. There we'll get this sorted out. Eleven

(01:31:32):
forty nine left in the third quarter, twenty one to three Wisconsin. Are
they gonna try to go grounding oris there a pass interference? Hey,
he was not out of the pocket. There were receivers there, but there
anybody was way over their heads. So let's see. Let's find out together.

(01:31:56):
There are no following for offensive passinterference number eighty seven because it passed
this team un fastball, intentional gruntyground office number eight while they placed the
start of fall. We've lost aDawley. There was will over their heads.
So normally it's like when in questionyou assume it's catchable, but that

(01:32:18):
there was no question. So theBadgers will send on Nathaniel Vacos for his
first field goal try in a coupleof weeks. As a matter of fact,
he is four for four this season. Would one for forty nine yards
away at Washington State thirteen days ago. This will be a thirty three yard

(01:32:41):
try a little bit left of center. You'd about the snaps. Badd Myers
will hold pendidate markers fly police snapand again Wisconsin shuppy. Here it's really
ninth penalty against Wisconsin tonight all startsoffense number seventy eight five. Kind of

(01:33:04):
a start downard. So I adda little bit of distance for Vacos looking
at a thirty eight yard try transferfrom Ohio University tall, so I want

(01:33:25):
to I'll line it up from thirtyeight yards away. I want to give
the Badgers a twenty one point lead. Early in the third quarter. Lines
are down, here's a stamp, all down. Pick is in the air
at it is good. No problemfor Nathaniel Vacos from thirty eight yards away
and the lead is twenty one forthe Wisconsin Badgers. Drive on Wisconsin.

(01:33:48):

the third quarter, Wisconsin twenty fourproduced. This is Badger Football from lear
Field Care Team for the Badgers andproud sponsors of UW Athletics. Before we
move on, let's pause ten secondsfor station identification ten for an ID.

(01:34:10):
This is Badger Football from Learfield.Eleven forty four left to the third quarter,
twenty four to three, Wisconsin leadsPurdue. Give credit to Cadron Jenkins.
He saved a touchdown on that fiftytwo yard run from Graylan Allen.
Great hustle for the Bloodomakers linebacker, the Badgers settling for three for the possession.
It's always those little plays that sometimesgo unnoticed, saving four points.

(01:34:35):
Wisconsin. Nice job of getting somepoints with the penalties and everything that they
ended up doing once they did getdown into their redside and a fair catch
signal by Tyrone Tracy on the kickfrom Jack Van Dyke, Tracy gathers right
at the goal line. Boy,the Makers will start at their twenty five
first and ten. Yeah, Purduebrought some pressure and I didn't mind what

(01:34:57):
Tanner Mordecai did. He we didn'tnot pick it up very well. It
didn't have any answers for that blitz. And instead of taking a sack,
you don't see that grounding called allthat often. He was in the pocket.
He was definitely throwing it away. And as long as you're finish your
drives with a kick, you usuallyfeel pretty good about it, and especially
when you can get three points.Yeah, they feel good about this kicker,

(01:35:18):
no doubt. Nathaniel Bakos Macabee inthere at running back card quick shot
left side caught by Bergs, gotaway from Maitre at the thirty yard line,
moves to his right, and Bergsfights his way to the thirty five
and a first down for Purdue.Impressive work after the catch for the redshirt
sophomore of the Belleville Michigan Yeah, pretty good job of keeping him bottled up.

(01:35:40):
He's obviously very dynamic and somebody thatWisconsin is concerned about. Don't let
him get hot card on first down, he'll give it to Marcabee and crashing
down his Hunter roller throws the runningback to the turf right at the line
of scrimmage checond in ten. Guy. I said this before when Purdue had
some success and we're moving the football, you need your time players to show
up. Hunter Wall, big timeplayer. That's the second time. Now

(01:36:03):
you hope to kind of stop thatmomentum getting in the backfield making a play
behind the line of scrimmage. Fourminutes gone by third quarter, twenty four
to three. Wisconsin leads Purdue toJay Sheffield wide right, motions to the
formation, Card reads it, keepsit, lips it right side. Was
seeing the catch thirty five across theforty yard line and gets to the forty

(01:36:26):
five to a lot to finally wrapsthem up. But it's right at the
line to game first down, Purdueat its own forty five. Yeah.
That's one of the things we commenteda lot about was the good tackling a
little bit sloppy right there. That'ssomething to kind of watch. Wisconsin's defense
continue to tackle two receivers either side, handoff Bock to be off the right
side, turns it up fifty yardline here the forty five inside the forty

(01:36:48):
five of Wisconsin. Alexander's Smith ableto knock him down to the forty three
game at twelve and Purdue is onthe move a little too easy there,
a lot of room, a lotof space to produce offensive line. They're
starting to feel themselves a little bit. Receivers left, two receivers right for
the Badger of forty three yard line. Another give to Mockaby tries the right
side again inside the forty thirty fivethirty yard line. Devin Mockaby inside the

(01:37:11):
twenty five to the twenty four ofthe Wisconsin Preston Zackman on the tackle.
Mackaby was impressive last year against Wisconsin, ran for over one hundred yards,
getting into a rhythm here n I'mforty left in the third quarter, twenty
four to three, Wisconsin, Mockabyout Tyrone, Tracy inn Bore the maker's
subbing. The Badgers can do thesame defensively as it get Ben Barton,

(01:37:33):
Rhodos Johnson in there among other jepbut Trosby getting in as well, bringing
some bigger bodies in produce see somethingover their right side of their offensive line.
They liked. They went back toit two times, and we're able
to pick up two first outs. But the Badger's twenty four yard line.
Hudson Card looks to throw, stepsup, shoots it to the right.
It's knocked down by Alexander's Smith incompleteintended for you. A scene at the

(01:37:56):
thirteen yard line. Good word fromSmith. Knock it away. Second and
ten perdu at the Wisconsin twenty four. Yes, second ball that I've seen
him bat down. You know,it's easy to kind of sit back and
just go make tackle. Let's goplay the football, not get into the
body too soon. Nice job thereby Smith. Some receivers either side,
Tyrone Tracy remains the running back tothe left of Hudson Card. Second and

(01:38:19):
ten Perdue at the Wisconsin twenty fouryard line. Card It takes the stamp,
He'll hit it to. Tracy gotaway from Barton, bangs his way
inside the twenty yard line. JakeSheeney takes down the ball carrier at the
nineteen of Wisconsin, right around thenineteen and actually just inside the twenty,
so make it a third down andsix for the boiler Makers. Love Barton

(01:38:42):
there. He took that block ontried to make the tackle, slowed up
the running back enough to not lethim get a first down. Third down,
they give to Tracy off the rightside. Big scene, fifteen ten
to the five, little joke overthe end zone, touchdown perdue Tyrone Tracy
from twenty yards away at Purdue asits first touchdown of the game. Yeah,

(01:39:06):
you can tell Purdue came out.Their energy has picked up. Wisconsin
on the defensive side of it.They're kind of play it back on its
heels now are up twenty one. It's all part of the process of growing
you. That's where you can youcould try to put the hammer down.
Way too much space, way toomuch time, way too much gaping holder
on the right side. Purdue wearingout Wisconsin's defense on that drive. Ruleo

(01:39:29):
mass see us on to attempt theextra points to more than a quarter and
a half of football remaining, boilerMakers trying to pull within fourteen here with
this pat there's the snap, ballis down, the kickers away, and
it is good. There's an eightplace, seventy five yard drive that took

(01:39:50):
just three minutes in two seconds atUS Bank. We know when you invested

left to the third quarter Wisconsin twentyfour, Purdue ten. This is badger

(01:40:12):
football for lear Field, oh Jackgamming Wisconsin. Dell's is your cant's miss
hunt spot for a big time casinofar and your odds are better there,
Tyrone Tracy a twenty yard touchdown runeight forty two left to the third quarters.
Now, Wisconsin twenty four produced tenway too easy. There are eight
place seventy five yards but ten fivefive plays of ten plus yards. And

(01:40:38):
one of the things you're always lookingat is limiting and explosive, and especially
when you're up to twenty four tothree, you kind of can get that
tendency to sit back on your heelsa little bit and start feeling it.
That should slap you back up andsay, Perdue's not gonna lay down.
You need to choke it out andfinish this thing. Produce is gonna produce
bringing that energy and you can seethe big shift whatever they did at halftime.

(01:41:00):
We've seen it for most of theseason from Wisconsin. Perdue b cut
it down to fourteen, making thisa big possession coming up for Wisconsin.
Still in control, but trying tokeep it that way. Should Ray DK
and Vinnie Anthony will be the deepmen per usual for Wisconsin. Well,
I'll tell you what, Perdue itagain. I'm excited. It's a big

(01:41:21):
ten road game. They're little intermissionstuff to dude running around kicking. They
got all that scene Elmo shrimp. They're wolfing it down in a they're in
game entertainment. I'm impressed. Acocktail sauce, now that is fired.
That's gonna get you clean you up. You get a little stuffy, you
want to clean yourself up. Gograb that sauce and wolf it down.

(01:41:44):
It's undefeated. Here's the runoff man. The kick is away in DK.
We'll have this fly over his headfor the touch bat Badgers starting at their
twenty five yard line. You saidit, Matt, this is a critical
drive because Purdue. You when you'rebehind by twenty one, I think you
look at it and you're just tryingto find some hope and produce. Just

(01:42:08):
Purdue's office just gave this defense somehope if it had they went three and
out and got given the ball back, it kind of feel deflated. Now.
This is almost like the last stand, and Wisconsin can kind of snuff
that out. That's why this driveis so critical. She has Malucy in
there at running back. Original starterson the offensive line for Wisconsin. Three

(01:42:29):
receivers right, one on the left. Mordecai, we'll give it to Melusy
trying to squeeze through the left sideof the line and comes crashing down near
the thirty yard line. Jeffrey Imbaon the defensive line helping leave the charge.
Them are just shy of the thirty. It looks like second out in

(01:42:50):
five for Wisconsin. Nice job thereby the left side of Wisconsin's offensive line,
just staying in front of the guymoving them a little bit. Given
a little scene there from the LucMordecai, well read it. Keep it
rolls left, throws left caught byDK forty forty five and DK tapped on
a bounds by Markivus Brown at theforty eight yard line. Well executed first

(01:43:12):
down connection up to the Wisconsin fortyeight kott am I oppressed with a Tanna
Mordechai's doing tonight. That was heread the defensive end he was chasing down,
so he pulled it, didn't didn'tgive it to me, Lucy,
and then they had it back orscrape over the top. He reads that
and gets it out to Jim topick up a big first down. Will
Pauling's slot to the right on firstand ten. Mordecai a play fake back

(01:43:33):
to throw, winds it up,throws and rightside caught by C. J.
Williams. Juke Luger is right andhe has taken down on the open
field by Marquis Wilson to a coupleof impressive stops in a lot of space.
Wilson takes down Williams at the fortyfive of Purdue a gain of seven
second down and three. Yeah,Williams, all want them back. That's
the case. You got that oneon one. He had a little bit

(01:43:55):
of space. It wasn't like hewas immediately tackled. Had a little bit
of shimmy shake there. It wouldhave been nice to see him break that,
but Mordecai stayed in the pocket deliveredit while taking a hit. Williamson
Pauling to the right, Dka comesout wide to the left on second down
and three, Mordecai a little optionride. He'll toss it, but Lusty
catches up the sideline. He goeshe'll get the first down. We'll mark

(01:44:15):
at the forty one yard lines,or the first down with the yard to
spare at the forty at the fortyone yard line. At Purdue first and
ten, Wisconsin with six fifty sixleft to the third quarter, twenty four
to ten, the Badgers. Wellit. It's tough play in this offense
when you're getting in this kind ofrhythm. Because you pull Fertney right guard,
you pull Mallman right tackle. Linebackershave to flow and Mordecai goes out.

(01:44:38):
You have a one on one onthe option wisely dumped it off,
picking up a first down. Yourreceiver's either side. On first and ten,
Mordecai flips the left side over themetal. It's dropped by Will Pauling
at the thirty yard line. Oh, that was a big play waiting to
happen, but instead it's second andten at the Purdue forty one. Again,
the decision making right on point, reading what the defense was allowing an

(01:45:00):
ab nice clean, easy release thereby Pauling wide open would have been an
easy first down, looked up beforehe's secured the catch, and that's why
he dropped him. So j Williamswide to the right, Tucker Ashcraft in
the slot, will Pauling and shimRay dk out to the left the forty
one to produce second down in tenthe Lucy the running back, Mordecai,

(01:45:24):
we'll hand it to the Lyricy gothit behind the line of scrimmage. Kane
was there along with Vix Scorton. So Lucy Cane first on the scene.
You got help from his outside linebacker. Loss of one and it's third and
eleven Wisconsin at the produce forty two. Yeah, that's when we've seen any

(01:45:44):
trouble moving the football at Wisconsin hashad. It's been allowing penetration. There
is a little leakage by the rightside of Wisconsin's offensive line, little penetration
and that's why there was no yard. It's picked up three receivers lefts one
on the right, Braylan Allen inthere at running back on third and eleven
Wisconsin at to produce forty two yardline blakelock Is at five. Mordecai surveys

(01:46:06):
takes the snap back to throw.Tanner looks, throws deep left for DK,
got it inside the ten yard line, bounces to the turf near the
five. Alisandro on the coverage seeinghim in as well. Oh, beautiful
ball. Its first and goal atthe eighths man. He has just put
the ball in perfect spots tonight. That was good coverage. Purdue got a

(01:46:29):
little bit of a pass rush there, but a pretty clean pocket and he
dropped it right where Chim had.Chim did a nice job of coming back
to catch head on first in goal. Here's reading it, keeping it as
Mordecai nowhere to go. He's broughtdown at the line of scrimmage, which
is the eighth yard line. Thatwas a thirty four yard pitching catch for
Mordecai to DK, Second and goalat the eighth. The strip of the

(01:46:50):
red Zie brought to you by caseih was a caseh dot com slash Badgers
Man. That was It was areally good throw. But I loved seeing
Chim what the defensive backs are doing. They're looking at the eyes. Also
of what Jim did. Jim keptit down, kept his hands low and
then just plucked it late. Reallynicely. Execute second and goal at the
eight palling slot left, motions tothe right. Mordecai, We'll hand it

(01:47:13):
to Braylan Allen up the middle, trying to just drag people inside the five,
and he does just that to aboutthe four. And as Braylan Allen
using that immense strength that he hasthird and goal four and a half minutes
left of the third quarters twenty fourto ten Wisconsin, that's where that squatting
and the squat fest to get thoseat lower trunk. But what I love

(01:47:34):
there, Bordelini the center kind ofgot out of position a little bit,
saw Braylan right next to him andstarted pulling him up, picking up a
couple of yards Williams Roucci and pullingto the right, DK to the left.
Mordecai continues in the shotgun third andgoal at the four. Mordecai takes
a snap rusher coming Tanner under duress, throws right side end zone, reaching
up broken up back line of theend zone intended for C. J.

(01:47:57):
Williams cam Allen with the air tightcoverage. You know, it was a
pretty good throw under heavy dress fromTanner. Mordecai as a Badgers send on
the field goal team again, itlooked just like the last time. We're
down here at third and goal andthey brought pressure. They got their clean
again. This time Tanner doesn't throwit out of the end zone. Was
actually a really risky throw. Goodcoverage even though he never turned his head,

(01:48:21):
did put his arm up in orderto kind of flock the mass and
not allow Wisconsin to get six.Nathaniel Vacos, We'll try a twenty two
yard field goal left hash mark.Everybody's set and there's the stamp when the
kick is away and the kick isgood. They goes from twenty two yards
out. The Badgers settle for threeand they get the lead up to seventeen.

(01:48:45):

four left of the third quarter Wisconsinand twenty seven perdue ten. This is
Badger of football from Learfield going drive, brought to you by your local Wisconsin

(01:49:09):
eight seconds, leading to a NathanielVecos twenty two yard field goal. Badgers
up seventeen three fifty four left inthe third quarter. We send it downstairs
to Patrick. One of the thingsthat makes this Wisconsin offense so dangerous is
the variety of weapons that Mordecai has. Nine different Badgers have caught a pass
tonight, and that was an emphasisin the offseason to get that wide receiver
room stronger. Insert three different transfers. One C J. Williams, who

(01:49:32):
came into this game with four catchesfor just twenty five yards. He's already
matched that with four catches for thirtysix yards. It seems like each game
it's a different wide receiver stepping up. And when you have that many weapons,
that's how this feel long to attackand wear you out. Yeah,
Jenny watched this offensive call twenty sevento ten. Wisconsin leading is Jack Van

(01:49:53):
Dyke with a kick in the air. I had another fair catch signaled by
Tyrone Tracy. That's a sign ofrespect for the Badger's kick cover. He
had mentioned. Tracy brought one backninety eight yards for a touchdown against Fresno
State. His first two return attemptscouldn't even get to the twenty yard line,
so they're just settling for those touchbacksand or fair catches and start at

(01:50:14):
their twenty five. So well,we'll see if the Wisconsin defense can get
things straightened out as Purdue had itthat d on its heels a bit that
last possession. Dylan Downing is inthere at running back. Boilers will come
out trips to the left, hurtNeil Dry and Varner on the defensive line
for Wisconsin, Downing will shift tothe left of the QB. Hard takes

(01:50:40):
the snap, he'll get it theDowning and crashing over the right side,
and he'll blast his way to aboutthe thirty yard line. Darrel Peterson the
outside linebacker on the stop second downand five for the Boilermakers at their own
thirty three thirty eight left of thethird quarter, two receivers left to receiver
is right. Card takes looks leftquick pass left side and that is caught

(01:51:04):
by TJ. Sheffield across the thirtyfive up across the forty up the left
hash marks Jason Matsley is there togreet about the forty three a perdue first
down for the Boiler Baker. Yeah, it saw a little sloppiness there by
Turner just kind of overran his guyand that allowed a little bit extra off
of that catch. Wisconsin had donesuch a nice job of getting guys down

(01:51:24):
on the ground. Gott to refocusa little bit. Turner and Shaney in
the linebacking the inside backers for Wisconsin. There's the handoff into Dylan Dowling straight
ahead, nothing doing there as heis brought down by Kurt Neil at the
forty five yard line. It wouldget a couple second down and eight for
Perdue. That was the case there. Wisconsin brought their inside linebackers again,

(01:51:45):
a little bit of a cross dogwhere you try to mess up Purdue's blocking
scheme and you try to get somebodyup front. Clear nicely done, nicely
executed there by the linebackers to setthat up. Rhodos Johnson James Thompson Junior
the down line, the now onsecond down card to throw, whips it
to the left and that is caughtby Max Claire the tight end. He
is driven out of bounds by aHunter Wohler at the forty nine yard line

(01:52:09):
of Perdue where it's third down andfour for the Boilermaker. He's talking about
airtight coverage. Hunter Wohler, wasI mean it almost looked like he was
on the sideline with the receiver.Glad he didn't get a laid hit.
He didn't, but he ran himout of bounds. He was so tight
on the coverage. Third down andfour Boilermakers at their forty nine yard line,
four receivers two either side. Bigplay coming up here. Blake clock

(01:52:33):
is at twelve card with a longlook. Blakelock down to five, snapped
the card throws left, pulled downby Sheffield for the first down inside the
forty five of Wisconsin and thrown backat the forty two yard line. Woller
on the stop at another third downconversion for Perdue. It's now four of

(01:52:56):
nine converting on third down. Justa little too much space there. That
was not a good pro. Hesailed in a little bit, but he
was able to secure it, getvertical and pick up the forty two of
Wisconsin. Card throws left. Scenethat's caught by Burt's angling left to right
inside the thirty gets covered up byMaitree at the twenty seven of Wisconsin.
First down Purdue, i'm a it'stwenty five left to the third quarter,
twenty seven to ten Wisconsin, butthe Boilermaker's back on the move. Well,

(01:53:19):
he just looks different and he catchesthat ball. There is a burst.
Keep him in their containment slot leftslot, right, Tyrone, Tracy
the running back card, He'll giveit to him. Tracy up the middle,
twenty five to the twenty yard line, breaks the tackle, fifteen to
the ten, Tracy to the five, and finally stopped by Cheney at the
two yard line. Matrie there aswell. First down goal to go perdue

(01:53:43):
or they will mark at the three. Yeah. Mis tackles. This too
many mis tackles. That's sort ofbeen a four or five yard run.
You miss a tackle. He getsinto open space, putting pressure on your
defensive backs and your safeties, andthat allows him to pick up a bunch
of extra yards. First and goalat the three. Card will handed to
Tracy. Got hit behind the lineof scrimmage and down he goes Badgers getting

(01:54:04):
penetration James Thompson Junior back of thesix yard line, loss of three.
Yeah. He just continues to makeplays, and when you need a big
play, he got a little bitof penetration and was able to secure the
tackle. It's something we've seen alittle bit of a struggle here in the
second half of eighteen seconds left inthe third quarter twenty seven to ten,
Wisconsin's second and goal perdue at thesix. Two receivers either side, Card

(01:54:30):
back to throw. Badger's rushing forCard looking looking flushed to his left,
angles to his left, chased byTurner, chased by Zachman. Neither will
get him touchdown Purdue as Hudson Cardruns it in from six yards away,
and we've got ourselves a ballgame. And West Lafayette, Yah, he is.
He is a really good athlete. We've seen him avoid and that was

(01:54:53):
a case where the protection was good. He stayed in the pocket. He
stayed in the pocket, and thenyou get a bunch of space. He
has another layer of speed and wasable to beat our guys to the pylon
and got in for a tutter. And that will be the final play of
the third quarter. Leo Mass seeus on to attempt the extra point.

(01:55:16):
Here's the snap and the kick isaway, and the kick is good and
it is a ten point game,So a little role reversal. Badgers this
week getting off to a fast start, but the third quarter not so hot.

seven produced seventeen. This is Badgerof football from Learfield. Back with you
with a scoreboard update as we getready to go get underway in the fourth
quarter. It's twenty seven in seventeenWisconsin, with fifteen minutes to play the

(01:56:03):
other college games of note tonight,So let me just tell you the Brewers
are one out or three outs ratheraway from clinching at playoff spot. Christian
Yellows homer twice tonight, had fiveruns batting in. The Brewers lead sixteen
to one over Miami in Miami Cubsone earlier today. So the Brewers will

(01:56:23):
clinch a playoff spot tonight, canclinch the NL Central Division title tomorrow.
Big games tomorrow. Iowa undefeated onthe road at Penn State. Ohio State
undefeated on the road non conference atNotre Dame. Those are the big ones
on the Saturday schedule. Matt, all right, Mike, thank you very
much. Wisconsin led by as manyas twenty one twenty four to three.

(01:56:44):
But the Bordermakers with a couple oftouchdowns in this third quarter, which just
came to an end. It's nowtwenty seven seventeen. Wisconsin produced kicking off
because we are ready to begin quarternumber four. Yeah, just too many
pig plays in that quarter, whichWisconsin had owned all year. That quarter,
that was not the case. Purduewas able to score and Wisconsin's offense

(01:57:06):
moved the football had a couple ofbig plays too, but set up for
field goals. Purdue eight plays often plus sets. You want to avoid
those explosive plays, especially when youhave a lead. But give Purdue credit,
they've made some big plays. Ithink Wisconsin's been a little bit sloppy
tonight with penalties and missing some tacklesthere on. Some of these drives allowed

(01:57:27):
drives to continue on and now wehave ourselves a football game. One of
the Badgers with nine penalties in thisgame, five for Purdue, so fifteen
minutes remaining in this big ten opener. Badgers Idol next Saturday. They'll play

(01:57:47):
again a week from Saturday. Aweek from next Saturday, we're going into
October football. The Badgers will hostRutgers. Rutgers at Michigan tomorrow, so
that'd be two sat two Saturdays.Yeah, next, next, next,
next, Thank got you. Calebcrock over to kick off in the air.

(01:58:10):
DK will catch at the goal lineright side, five to the ten,
Chim Ray fifteen to the twenty twentyfive yard line of the thirty still
up thirty five yard line, bangedout of bounds, had a penalty marker
of fifteen yard tack on as chimRay DK with another excellent return near the
forty yard line, and add fifteenat the end of the play. Yeah.
Special teams have been big tonight, not only with making kicks but really

(01:58:34):
setting the tone. And Wisconsin backon it heel on its heels a little
bit. Chim with two nice returnsin this half, and now we get
another fifteen to tack it on.Here's the call from Jeff Servinsky, that's
to pass follow ye the nside. As you can tell, they're not very

(01:58:56):
happy about that. I feel likethey agreed. I half to you mean
even I I would agree with thatcall. Yeah, if it was the
other way, that was definitely late. Come on, Purdue, come on,
man, posted such a nice eveninghere. Don't be don't get all
hostile about that, but chim thatwas the case, it'd be easy just
take the ball off the twenty five. He had the nice return earlier and

(01:59:16):
that was breaking a tackle, addinggetting it and now on the other side
of the fifty to kind of getthis momentum and get everything settled back down
for the forty six of Purdue.First and ten. Braylan Allen in there
at running back. He has onehundred two rushing yards so far. Tonight,
play fake Mordicai, he's pressure. He throws over the middle of the
next clock ce J Williams inside thethirty down to the twenty six yard line.

(01:59:38):
Mark Kis Wilson on the tackle.A good fastball for Mordecai and the
Badgers are in business. Great inprotection, little run fake early and just
the simple in breaking route that Mordecaidelivered right on the numbers, but produced
twenty six yard line. First andten Mordecai will head it to Braylan Allen
over the right side of the lineinside that's twenty five, twenty two yard

(01:59:58):
line. He gained him about four. Bruce and Kane getting in there with
help for produce second down in sixfor Wisconsin. Opening it at fourth quarter
twenty seven to seventeen. The Badgers, Yeah, railing with it's eleventh carry
can put him over one hundred yardstonight. So we're getting that lather now,
let's wear that lather out. GrayWedding in there and right guard and

(02:00:20):
as I say that, the lefttackle Jack Nelson comes up early and that's
penalty number ten against Wisconsin, anumber seventy nine in penalty second down.
This is all part of it.You go on the road and it's it's
not the loudest stadium I've ever heard, but it is causing some problems tonight

(02:00:42):
for our offensive lineman. We've beena little twitchy, a little jumpy.
You can sense that energy. Wegotta harness it in too. You can't
just go out was Jack just wasexcited to get out there and try to
go make a block. It getsyou off schedule. Let's see how the
Badgers handle that second and eleven atthe produce twenty seven yard line, Skyler
Bell's sloped to the lefts Allen stilllive there at running back Mordecai, We'll

(02:01:03):
give it to Allan and they're allover and right at the handoff Solocy Kane
is there Cole Brevard as well asAllan taking out at the thirty yard line.
A loss of three are now it'sthird and fourteen for Wisconsin at the
Purdue thirty. Yeah, they did. They just came hard off the edge
head. Nobody was there. That'sa case where I don't know if Tanner

(02:01:26):
has to read that. But whenyou hand it off and you come screaming
off the edge like that, nowhereto run for Braylan jez Melucy is in
there now three receivers left, oneon the right, but Lucy to the
right of the quarterback. Third andfourteen at the Purdue thirty yard line.
Way clock is down to three.Mordecai takes the staff pressure coming. Tanner

(02:01:46):
throws right side, almost picked offBrycing Green broke to the boundary. The
pass went inside and it went throughthe hands of Marquis Wilson inside. That's
went a yard line. So thebadge again, we'll send on Nathaniel Vacos
and this will be about a fortyeight yard attempt. We are two minutes

(02:02:08):
and three seconds into the fourth quarter, twenty seven to seventeen. Wisconsin.
Very fortunate to be ending this drivewith a kick. They brought pressure again,
a lot of pressure. It's beengetting home. Wisconsin needs to make
some adjustments in their protection. Gettingpressure in his face made him deliver it
earlier, and he wanted KOs orthirty eight forty eight yard field Go'll try
Riot Hashbart snap spot kick is awaymoney, It's good forty eight yards away.

(02:02:34):
Nathaniel Vakos remains perfect kicking field goalsfor the Wisconsin Badgers, and we
will take a break. UW Athleticsis proud to recognize the official products of
Camp Randall Stadium, rupap lots ofmatsa pizza, Old Dutch potato chips and
pepsi on Wisconsin twelve fifty two remainingWisconsin thirty perdue seventeen back in the moment.

(02:02:57):
This is Badger football from lear Fieldchap Any, Wisconsin. Steinhoffel's during
their Badger's Sale weekend going on nowthrough the twenty fourth, and you get
a one hundred dollar University Bookstore giftcard. But just been over twenty nine
ninety nine. Relax, It's Steinhoffel'sWisconsin Scoring d I brought to you by
your local Wisconsin the up Board Dealersby Play sixteen yards we're washed out a

(02:03:18):
really good kick return to a penalty. On top of that, Badger's settling
for a field goal. Nathaniel Veco'sdelivering from forty eight yards away, twelve
fifty two to play, thirty toseventeen. Wisconsin. Yeah, we're seeing
some things that we've saw earlier thisseason, where you're having penalties and you're
settling for field goals. I likedthat you're ending one kicks. I liked

(02:03:42):
that you're putting points up. Butwhen you're giving up touchdowns in a game
like this on the road, allthat stuff comes back. It gets you.
So this is a case where thisdefense needs to hold up. It's
been way too easy so far inthe second half for Purdue move in the
football. Wisconsin needs to go offthe hood who getting a lot done on
the ground, averaging nearly eight yardsper carry so far. Tonight, Jack

(02:04:06):
Van Dyke to kick off, DylanDowning, Tyrone Tracy are deep and Dyke
runs up and the kick is awayand it hits us one the heart where
that far thoundred it went out ofbounds. Plays yanked a couple of them
here this season, and the boythe Makers will start at their thirty five
yard line. It just was ravingabout the special teams and what they've been

(02:04:27):
able to do with field position andhidden yardage. And you kick one out
of bounds here that now you puta little bit more pressure on your defense
when you give up the field positionthat you have. Adgers led twenty one
three at the half, increased atthe twenty four to three, and Burdu
has had some answers bore. TheMakers have been punching back and now they

(02:04:49):
started their thirty five yard line DevinMakabee and they're at running back dur ramand
you seen comes out why to theright, Dj Sheffield slot left, the
younger it's wide left, snapped thecard, he'll hand him mock rather keeping
it off the read his card offthe right edge up across the thirty five
to the thirty nine yard line turnerand gets her there defensively gain of four

(02:05:13):
second and six. When the Makersget back to the ball, what twelve
and a hal minutes to play.Badger's up by thirteen second and six from
the Purdue thirty nine yard line slotleft slot right staff the card Badgers sending
Ford cart byres it to the left, wide open Burchs tight looked at sideline,
got it first down across midfield tothe forty nine of Wisconsin cards,

(02:05:39):
showing us something that was a bigtime throw, pretty good coverage underneath.
He had to drop it into thatsoft bottom the zone over on the boundary
and he was able to get atoe down. That was a big play.
Nice throw, get good protection byPurdus on line, all the Wisconsin
forty nine yard line first and tenPurdue twelve minutes to play, thirty to

(02:06:00):
seventeen Wisconsin to Joy Sheffield slot left, motions to the right card leads,
keeps back to throw looking type pocketthrows right side, hangs up for the
air, picked off at the thirtyRicardo Holman thirty five forty weaving left forty
five fifty Holland to the forty fivein a perdue territory. Second interception tonight
for Ricardel Holman. Oh, abig play for a Wisconsin as it turns

(02:06:25):
perdue back when it was on thebreak of really making this interesting, that
big play. I don't know exactlywhat car was looking he does at play
fake. I don't know if thatwas just a miscommunication. That's about as
easy of an interception again, playin the play, in the position what
you're doing and going attacking the football, and in a position where produce feeling

(02:06:47):
the momentum moving the football pretty muchat will. Here in the second half,
you need to find a way tostop the bleeding. Wisconsin did by
getting that turnover. Had the momentumgoing the ball in Wisconsin territory a chance
to drive down the field. Makeit a one score games to allow a
lot time on the clock here elevenforty one to be exact, thirty to

(02:07:09):
seventeen Wisconsin wristin' teven the Madgers atthe Purdue forty four yard line, Mordicai
gives it two bout lucy and hegets hammered by snocy Kane behind the line
of scrimmage. Down goes Chaz atthe forty five of Purdue, loss of
one molucy out. Braylan Allen checksin. Very fortunate. I'm always nervous
when things happen back quickly. Whenyou're tucking that football. They are sending

(02:07:32):
their ends hard off of the edge, collapsing down. Not gonna allow that
run game. He's gonna have totuck it to hold it here. So
I get down at eleven. Mordecaireads nowth Peeves rolls right under pressure,
Tanner, We'll run for it.Got hit by Kadrin Jenkins and Nick Scorton
inside the forty five to the fortythree of Perdue. A scramble for two

(02:07:54):
third down and nine for Wisconsin. The Badgers tonight on third down or ten
out of fourteen. Yeah, they'recontinuing to bring a ton of bodies down
on the line of scrimmage. They'rebasically saying, throw the football here,
bring big time pressure off of theedge. They've been running a lot of
middle blitz here. I would notbe surprised if Perdue brought people through the

(02:08:15):
center of this defense again. Threereceivers left, one on the right from
the blue forty three yard line, third down to nine, snapped the Mordecai
five man rush. Tanner looks, shoots it left and that is ripped away,
picked off by Purdue, picked offby Boat Truss Ala Sandro who just
ripped it away from the intended receiver, and the Boilermakers are back in business

(02:08:39):
again with tense twenty five remaining. It's just a simple, simple out route
and that was a fifty fifty throwand like you said it, Matt just
tore it away. I don't know. Is that Chim that was out there?
He tore it away from Chim ona fifty fifty ball. That was
a big play. Perdue needed it. We'll take a break. Ten minutes,
twenty five seconds maining Wisconsin thirty,Produced seventeen. This is badger football

(02:09:03):
from lear Field. The team's tradeturnovers. Purdue gets it back at the
fifty with ten twenty five remaining Wisconsinthirty, Purdue seventeen. Patrick, what
do you have? I gotta givethis crowd credit tonight, and some of
it is what Tom She's been talkingabout the end game shenanigans. But we've
been here other games when Wisconsin getsa three touchdown lead and this place starts

(02:09:26):
to empty out and the crowd getsempathetic and lethargic. Tonight, it's not
the case. They're still into thisgame and they're affecting the attitude and energy
on the produce sideline. There's noquestion. Now, you're right. There
are times we've come in here andit's at all the electricity of your average
spring game. But you're right,it's not the case your Friday night lights

(02:09:46):
in West Lafayette, Oh Tross Alessandrojust ripping it away from him Ray DK
for the interception. So the boythemakers starting at midfield, trips to the
lefts first and ten. Tyrone Tracyis the running back in card. We'll
read it, keep it angles tothe right, and Jake Cheney is there
just spinning down at the forty sevenyard line of Wisconsin the gain of three.

(02:10:09):
That nice job there by Waller andChaney of reading it hard, does
a nice job of putting it inseeing the Wisconsin's and crashed, but you
secured the tackle for a one ofthree yard picking Rogers continue to go and
Shaney and Turner the inside line batchof spots on second out hand off,
Tyrone Tracy breaks through inside the forty, inside the thirty five, and he

(02:10:31):
is muscling his way inside the thirtyand down to the twenty nine yard line.
They were saying he is a physicalrunner, and that's exactly what he
is right there. Yeah, it'sjust too many explosive runs here in the
second half, and some of it'smistackling. That was just running through nice
hole on the right again the rightside of Produce offensive line and a nice

(02:10:52):
big chunk chunk from the twenty nineof Wisconsin first and ten. DJ Sheffield
motions to the back. Milk nowflakes out to the left back the throat
Card three man rush, Card looksthrows over the vittle and it's a lot
of the target intended for you.Seen incomplete at the fifteen yard line.
Wohler on the coverage was second inten perdu at the Wisconsin twenty nine yard
line, nine nineteen remaining Wisconsin thirtyproduced seventeen. Card has done a really

(02:11:16):
nice job of avoiding the rush andthen taking it, pulling it down and
running. I'm glad he didn't there. He had probably seven or eight yards
if he did. He decided tokeep his eyes down the field and make
a tough throw. Wooler was ableto break it up. You're seen wide
right, Burke's wide left, Sheffield'sslot left, Dylan Downing in there running
back now one second down Card wllhandled it down and off the left side.

(02:11:37):
Daryl Peterson's all over it, asis Jake Cheney and Downing taking down
behind the line of scrimmage. Lallmark of the thirty three of Wisconsin loss
of four third down and fourteen forthe Boilermakers with nine oh five to play.
That was a nice job by Petersonof keeping contain let Cheney kind of
fill in from his linebacker spot, not allowing him to bounce outside into the

(02:12:00):
corner. Captain Carrol setting up alongthird down, empty backfield. Three receivers
right, two on the left ofthe Wisconsin purty three yard line, third
down at fourteen for the Watomakers aboutbounding the motion into the backfield right block?
Is it eights? Hard, waitsfor the snap, gets it back
to throw. Badgers rushing for theboss knocked away. It is loose,

(02:12:22):
and they'll say, well, itwas recovered by perdwo one I thought.
One officials signaled incomplete and another pointedto the ground. There what do we
got incomplete? With the clock stoppingwith eight thirty one to plays, although
mark at the thirty three of Wisconsinfourth down, not much choice here to

(02:12:43):
be made for Ryan Walters. Theygotta go even though it's fourth down and
fourteen. So here we go.Two receivers ride, one on the left
Budson card with a lookover to thepurduced sideline. Your defense trying to get
off the field here, fourth downand long for the Boilermakers, and play

(02:13:05):
is stopped a time out taken byPurdue as the play clock was about to
expire. So we'll go ahead andtake a break as well. Eight minutes
thirty one seconds to play Wisconsin thirtyproduce seventeen back in a moment. This
is a badger of football from Learfield. Eight minutes thirty one seconds remaining in

(02:13:28):
West Lafayette, Wisconsin, thirty perdue seventeen WI. Themakers burning a time
out. They have a fourth andfourteen at the Badger's thirty three yard line.
Credit due to Kamoye Latu for gettingto card and he's being a disruptor
on that last pass which which justfluttered to the turf. So the safety

(02:13:50):
Lattu involved in that third down play, Yeah, and he was actually picked
up by produced tailback. He foughtthrough it was able to. I don't
know it was because there was alittle indecisiveness that didn't know if his arm
was going forward. He hit hisarm and that allowed that ball to flutter
down. And then you know,it's a tight football game. You have
you want guys to use that timeout. Purdue, obviously it's a critical

(02:14:11):
play in the game. Fourth andfourteen or whatever it is. Wisconsin showing
a ton of pressure, forcing Purdueinto changing protections, and all of a
sudden that playclock runs down and Purduehas to use a timeout. Those are
those little things. Now, you'dlove to get off the field here,
but you forced Purdue to use oneof those timeouts in the second half.
All right, here we go,Purdue three out of nine going forward on

(02:14:35):
fourth down. If you're interested throughthe first three games were scene and Sheffield
come out to the right, deonBurke's to the lefts Dylan downing the running
back on fourth and fourteen. Snappedthe card. Badgers bring pressure card throws
it is incomplete bat Badgers got pressureon him. Hunts or Waller among them

(02:14:58):
fours seeing the errand passing. TheBadgers get the stop. Very fortunate,
great job of putting pressure on.Burke's was open, but he didn't have
the time to throw it. Heis not happy the wide out. He's
a talented cat. He has gothis helmet off. He's irritated because he
thought he was open, but thepressure got there, forcing that early prow

(02:15:20):
getting Wisconsin off the field. RedditHunter Wohler with forcing card to get it
out of his hands before he wantedto and off target. So for the
thirty three of Wisconsin first and tenthirteen point lead for the Badgers, eight
twenty seven remaining, Jackson Acre andChez Welusy in the backfield. Here's the

(02:15:45):
hand off the Chaz running left, gets a block from an Acre, but
he's still taken down at the thirtyfive yard line. Jeffreyimba on the defensive
line. Is there gain of acouple second down and eight for Wisconsin.
Produced definitely done a much better jobhere in the second half half of kind
of corralling and getting Wisconsin's running backsdown on the ground a lot sooner than
what they did in at first half. Sick get down in eight Badgers at

(02:16:09):
their thirty five yard line, eightminutes to play, thirty to seventeen the
Badgers, Mordecai takes option right,He'll turn it across the thirty five Mordecai
up to the thirty eight yard gateof three and it's third and five for
Wisconsin. Seeing a lot of thattonight with Thesally a sprint option where you
just go fire out right away.Produced a nice job there. Have taken

(02:16:31):
away the pitch guy force and Mordecaito turn it up and Tanner avoided one
tackle, was able to pick upa couple of yards fifty eight rushing yards
on fourteen toats for Mordecai well atthe thirty seven yard lines to make it
third down about six for Wisconsin snapthe Mordecai back to throw looks throws over
the meadow, It's caught by DKfirst down and more across the midfield strike

(02:16:54):
Wilson brings him down at the fortyeight yard line. Mordecai delivered is on
third down and there's an injured BoilermakerJeffrey Imba defensive lineman needs some attention.
Chez Molucy. I'm not sure wherewhat a great block he was able to
get out looked like on the blindside of Tanner and was able to fire

(02:17:15):
his helmet out just to get thatguy down on the ground. That allowed
him to stay in the pocket.Make the throw. We will take a
break. Seven eleven remaining in WestLafayette, Wisconsin. Thirty produced seventeen back
in a moment. This is abadger of football from Learfield Times. Spotlight
Tonight's best of the game, broughtto you by Old dominion freight line old

(02:17:35):
dominion frame line works hard to bethe best of the game. It is
proud to be the official freight carrier. While Wisconsin Athletics all the Badger's quarterback
has been pretty good. Seventeen andtwenty five, one hundred and seventy four
passing yards, fifty eight rushing yards, and nineteen receiving arms. Yeah,
you don't hear that often. Andhe has just been so good with his

(02:18:00):
decision making. Even the interception thathe threw to make an argument that really
wasn't on him. It was ina tight spot. But Matt he is
just He's pulled the football, he'srun, He's done everything that this team
is needed from me. Tonight, thirty to seventeen, Wisconsin, seven minutes,
eleven seconds to play. The Badgershave a first and ten at the

(02:18:22):
Boilermaker's forty eight yard line. Jessbut Lucy in there at running back,
Will Pauling Schlock to the lefts theBadgers can plead this clock put this game
away. Here we go, pointguy right in the roll, mister snapper,

(02:18:48):
port Alini and Tanner looking to throwShuffle's left throws left deep ball Pauling
in you can plea down the leftsideline of the twenty yard line, Cam
Allen the intended receiver, and that'sa bit of a favor for Purdue.
It stops the clock with six fortythree to play second and ten. Oh
that's a route I would guess PhilLongo has seen other teams do to Wisconsin

(02:19:09):
where you kind of run that littlein route and then run a wheel behind
it. They've had success against it, and I think that was one of
those. We are ending this righthere, unfortunately, unable to connect Psycho
down in ten Wisconsin at the Purdueforty eight yard line, falling slot to
the left, CJ. Williams wideto the lights. Wakay takes Parter Prushure

(02:19:31):
Cumming and the handoff goes to Beluciand he gets taken down right now by
Kadrin Jenkins. And now a badgeris slow to get up, and it
is Chez Belucy. Oh my goodness. He has had, you know,
the last couple of years he hasdealt with injuries. He is writhing in

(02:19:54):
pain right now with six minutes andthirty seven seconds to play thirty to seventeen
Wisconsin. Let's pause ten seconds forstation Identification ten for an ID. This
is Badger football from Learfield. JezMlucy surrounded by medical personnel right now,

(02:20:18):
and we'll go ahead and take afull commercial break. Six minutes, thirty
seven seconds remaining. Wisconsin thirty producedseventeen back in a moment. This is
Badger of football from Learfield. Theybrought out the cart, get the air
cast on Chez Mlucy. None ofthe Badger players on their knees. Braylan
Allen is watching him from up here. He was on his hands and knees,

(02:20:41):
just looking straight down at the turf. Miles Proquette over there to consult
and Allen Chez are close and nowBraylan is going over to that cart right
now and teammates are following him. These guys are fierce competitors and they are
very close friends, and they embracedright now. Oh, you got the

(02:21:07):
whole team coming out at That's thepart that makes you sick when you're watching
and you put all that effort in, especially Chessie's had injuries to fight back
and to get out here and playit. Man, it's devastating a couple
of years ago and knee injury andRutgers into his season last year, got
hurt the game at Northwestern. Nowbeing carted off, yeah the worst.

(02:21:41):
That's the part of this game thatsucks. Yeah, that is brutal.
We have six minutes and thirty sevenseconds remaining, thirty to seventeen, Wisconsin
leading perdue the Badgers of a thirdand eleven at the Boilermaker's forty nine yard
line. And this is really difficulttoo, because you have a football game

(02:22:05):
to go out and win, andyou know this is somebody that you've played
with for a while that it's alwaystough emotionally to get yourself back up and
at him and try and finish thisgame. Offense, it's always secondary,
but emotionally it is really difficult toget back out there. You got to
you gotta separate the two things, which it's tough. Yeah, they gotta

(02:22:28):
move forward right now. Here wego, third down at eleven, three
receivers left. CJ. Williams comesout to the ripe Raylan Allen in the
backfield. What a guy to thrillpressure up the middle. Tanner throwing low,
passing intercomplete, just had to getit out of his hands intended for
CJ. Williams. This Purdue defenseis really ramped it up in the second

(02:22:50):
half. The Badger's forced a puntup thirteen was six twenty six remaining.
Yeah, it just has been waytoo much of that in the second half,
where Perdue was just overloading the middleof Wisconsin's offensive line and there hadn't
been a ton of solutions as faras what you're looking to do. There
was a screen out to the rightside, but just not enough time for
Tenner to set his feet make agood throw. I had a good spurt

(02:23:13):
Rooms on the punt for Wisconsin.DJ sheff Field is deep at the eleven
yard line to Perdue line of scrimmage. The Boilermakers forty nine snap the perch
Rooms and the kick is away.Hangs it up there, Sheffield. We'll
get out of the way as thiswill sail into the end zone for a
touchback six eighteen remaining, first inten Perdue at its own twenty with Wisconsin

(02:23:39):
leading thirty to seventeen. It's beeninteresting. We've said repeatedly that inside linebacker
duel of Jordan Turner and Jake Cheney. We continue to not see Luma jo
Meeta on the field here tonight.Yeah, we've called the We've called Turner's

(02:24:03):
name a ton, We've called Cheney'sname a ton. Of it has been
that has something we haven't brought upa ton. And these guys that be
interesting to hear. What's the dealwith uma true receivers right one on the
left of it, Macabe the runningback card will give it till Macabe got
hit by Darry and Parner right awayand help from Daryl Peterson for a loss

(02:24:24):
of one to the nineteen yard line. You'd just see the Temple transfer getting
in the mix. Second and elevenfor the Boilermakers six minutes to play.
Yeah, Purnew went back to justtrying to run off that right side of
their offensive line. Wisconsin said, enough, we've seen too much of that
this half. Two receivers right oneon the left, second and eleven for
the Boilermaker's card back of throw lookingshoots it left seemed broken up all those

(02:24:48):
picked by Alexander Smith. What aplay Intendant Berdan Burke's at the thirty four
yard line. Smith breaks it upthird and eleven for the Boilermakers at their
nineteen yards A really nice game. That's at least his third pass breakup of
the evening. And that was thecase. There he almost alert enough to
tip it and try to pick it. They're down and long for the Boilermakers

(02:25:11):
five forty four remaining thirty to seventeenWisconsin. Two receivers right Burke's after the
left press coverage from Alexanders Smith,Card back to throw four man rush.
Card got away from Peterson, flushedto his right, Card trying to five
time Sex throws white seam x quackfirst down across the forty five yard line.
Yeah, seeing the catch at thethirty six yard line up Perdue,

(02:25:35):
first down for the Boilermakers with fivetwenty seven to play, like old school
backyard football, got out moving hisguy with his hand and was able to
flittle it in there. We getback on the ball. Card back to
throw the steps up into the pocket, throws white side. I didn't complete
why to the target the tight endGarrett Miller the intended receiver. Second and
ten Boilermakers at their thirty six yardline with five sixteen to play, thirty

(02:25:56):
to seventeen Wisconsin. Card has donea really good job tonight of avoiding that
pass rush, being able to maneuver, keeping his eyes down the football field.
And that was a huge third downthat he just picked up on the
prior play. He's nineteen of thirtytwo through the air for one hundred and
sixty eight yards. Two interceptions, both courtesy ever card Old Hallman snapped a

(02:26:18):
card Badgers sending for again card Tidepocketball got popped up in the air and
it is incomplete or gathered by Macaby. The ball gets ripped away by Wisconsin.
They never blew it dead. TheBadger's come up with it, Yes,
sir, Kayden Johnson stripped it andthe Badger's pounce with five h two

(02:26:41):
remaining thirty to seventeen, Wisconsin. That's why you never give up on a
play. You don't hear a whistle. Well, I'll be curious his arm
was going forward or not, butyou never give up on the play.
He stops playing. No, thatwas that Darian Varner actually popped and Varner
recover. Yeah, that's why youdon't give up on that play. You
don't hear a whistle. Play itthrough, let them sort it out later.

(02:27:05):
Punch the peanut punch and then grabbingit. That could be a huge
finish in this football game. Fiveo two remaining thirty to seventeen. Well
recovered by the defense is under furtherreview. Yeah, that you have to
have possession, and they have it. It's a long winded explanation of EGGA

(02:27:26):
football move is what it is.Make a move relative to the game is
the way it's written five O twomight live. Look, I thought incomplete,
but we'll see. Yeah, that'salways and obviously the tough cruel and
there's been a hundred different deals. But one thing, and it happens a
lot more than it should. Yousee this a punch where the ball's rolling

(02:27:48):
around and always finished through. Purduescoops it up. I think that's an
empty hand. Is Kayden Johnson gettingin there to disrupt the pass as we
mentioned, and it just yeah,it's yeah. I mean if they if

(02:28:11):
they call that a fumble. Itwas picked up by Devin maccabee and then
had it knocked away. But it'sthinking incomplete pass there. But we'll see
I had a lot going on tothat play. Yeah, the incomplete pass,
you got an empty hand. There'sall these different rules. We'll see
how they determine that. But finishingthrough when you don't hear that whistle and
there's that thing produced, guy scoopsit up. And we're punches it out

(02:28:35):
the old peanut and Tillman stop punchout and finishing through and that what you
think? That's just all out effortand hustling understanding what's going on. You'd
like to see that one more timeon the on the video board here.
That's the feed that we have, not not the FS one feed. This
is taking a little bit of time. The question is was it a forced

(02:28:56):
fumble from Kayden Johnson? A quarterbackpressure that resulted in an incomplete pass?
And we're getting one more look here, it's moving moving forward. The question
did he have any control of theball? And that we'll see well.

(02:29:16):
And the nice thing is, youknow there is a clear recovery. There's
a lot of ten jostle here.It is after further review. The ruling
on the field stands as fall goodMan. Now penalty markers fly. The
reaction from the Purdue bench getting thepenalty flag here, so the frustration has

(02:29:45):
reached the boiling point for the PurdueBoilermakers. But I like what you did
there. Yeah, actually that wasan unintentional uh, but I did it.
I did say it right, Yes, they're boiling. I was only
bracing for that to be overruled andcalled an incomplete pass. But credit to
Kayden Johnson for one listen like conductperdue number zero. That's his listen to

(02:30:09):
the ball game. You have tolisten the gold line this time of the
time. And give credit to DarianVarner for not quitting on the play as
he prided loose after Devin Macaby pickedit up. Who did you didn't tuck
away the ball and Varter popped inloose. So some good heads up work
from the Wisconsin defense. And thenwith that penalty, Wisconsin as a first

(02:30:33):
and ten at the Purdue thirteen yardline. So here we go looking for
that knocked out punch right here BraylonAllen the running back Ordecai, we'll give
it to him. Here's Allen upthe middle to the ten and he is
cut down by Yanni Karloftus at theseven or eight yard line at Purdue strip
of the red zone. Brought toyou by Casey H. Visitcase dot com.
Slash Badgers well mark at the sevensecond down and four for whisky consin

(02:31:03):
four forty remaining thirty to seventeen. The Badgers, what a kind With a
long look over to that Wisconsin sideline. Lake clock is at thirteen. Feel
free to bleed that clock. Oneclock is at eight. The little pistol
formation a lot there at all.But what Braylan Allen did is just lowered

(02:31:24):
his pads and kept his feet churningin order to pick up a couple of
yards that wasn't blocked beautifully, butit ended up being a result. Where
you're sitting here in third and onethunder four minutes to play now, thirteen
point lead for Wisconsin, third andone Badgers at the Purdue four yard line.
Lake clock is at ten. RsonGreen wide to the right, DK

(02:31:46):
to the left, Allen to theleft of the quarterback. What a kay
will give it to Allen up themiddle, Banks into Carl Off. This
spins by him into the in sotouchdown Wisconsin. Braylan Allen right through the
linebacker head into the end zone asthe Badgers are putting this one away.

(02:32:07):
That was all heart and all willfor Braylan Allen to get in the end
zone. Linebacker met him in thehall and he just kept moving his feet.
He did it the play before thistime. It results in the touchdown
that will seal this game away thirtysix to seventeen Wisconsin. As they are
lining up to go for two. Here, Mordecai, we'll duck under his

(02:32:33):
center Chander Bordelini, Will Pauling willmotion to the lefts Mordecai takes his stamp
a tossed and Allan he'll get it. The faulling looking for a second completion.
He got it. Hordecai is there. Two point conversion once again,
courtesy of Will Pauling at his thirtyeight seventeen Wisconsin. That's fun, that

(02:32:54):
is fun. You see him emptyingout the playbook. You saw that earlier
in the game. We're pauling andnow you got two catches, a two
point conversion. Tanner Mordecai doing atall the night, He's been running,
he's been throwing, and now witha two point catch. Done it all
for Tanner mordeca. When you seeteams work on this or the week,
you go, wait, when doyou think they're gonna when do you think

(02:33:16):
they're gonna break it up? Right? And we got the answer here tonight.
Patrick, what do you have? After that touchdown run from Braylan Allen,
he ran over to the one ofthe cameras in the corner of the
end zone and did a number onewith his finger and then a heart symbol
with both of his hands, clearlya message to his fallen brother. Chez
Milussy was getting X rays on hisleg at this time. Yeah, that's

(02:33:37):
Chez injured earlier in this quarter andis incredibly tough blow to Chez, obviously
into his team for Braylan Allen gettingin from four yards away, you know

(02:33:58):
that one was for his buddy Showsfor Lucy's Jack van Dyke with the kick
in the air, Tyrone, Tracywill let me go into the end zone
for the touchback three thirty five remaining, thirty eight seventeen Wisconsin. Yeah,
great response there, and you sawPurdue at a take momentum back in Wisconsin

(02:34:24):
was able to weather the storm unfortunateinjury. You got football back after a
very heads up play and then youfinished the drive off, which is what
you're always hoping to do when you'rein a position to as salt the game.
Awin makers, starting after you're twentyfive, they're down twenty one.

(02:34:46):
Edit the defense for setting up theoffense and that short touchdown drive two receivers
right, two receivers left. Cardat the grow Badgers rushed three with a
spy. Card grows right side thatspot by your se turns it up with
the forty yard line. Yanks downby Preston seven m forty two in the
first down for the Boilermakers. Readtwenty remaining for New with two timeouts available,

(02:35:13):
We're going four receivers, two ofthe right, two on the left.
Card takes Magers rushed four. Herecomes Turner to throw to the left.
That's caught by Sheffield at across midfieldof the forty five yard line and
Hunter Waller wraps him up by theankles. At the forty one of Wisconsin
first down for New. I justwas fussing Jordan Turner and he took the
left tackle. I was running astunt and completely planted him on the ground

(02:35:37):
and then planted Card after he threwthe football. That was fun to watch.
Card got the completion of the fortyone of Wisconsin first to tenth.
Card again back to throw. Lookat Sex throws deep left side and it's
all most intercepted. Alexander Smith airtight coverage on Dion Burke's at the ten
yard line of the air side. Two thirty seven remaining and it's second and

(02:36:00):
ten Perdue at the Badger forty one. It's been all over the football tonight.
Smith has been. It really hasso I have him for four pass
breakups al right. It seems likePerdue is looking to go after him,
and he's really held up. Sixtyyears senior at a Culver City, California,
Alexanders Smith, three receivers right burtsto the left, card takes so

(02:36:22):
you will hand it to Tracy offthe left side inside the forty yard line.
James Thompson Junior is there to hithim. At the thirty seven of
Wisconsin game of fourth, third roundand six with the Boilermakers with two twenty
five and county to blood. Lethim do that the rest of the way
in here at that clock, justkeep on it will serve three receivers right
one on the left, hard tothrow, looking looking pocket gets tight,

(02:36:46):
he'll pull it down and run weavingthirty five yard line and wits to the
thirty one and a late hit hereflags from all angles. His card took
the slide and then took the hit. M or a ton of penalties here
against Wisconsin. It's going to bethe eleventh of the game. Here's the

(02:37:09):
call after the play was over firstof the ball. Late hit defense number
thirty six on the sliding quarterback fifteenyard currently from the end of the run
includes an automatic first down. Theyget Jake Cheney there two oh five remaining.
That's tough to play defense, andyou know this league, the NFL,

(02:37:31):
it's I'm not gonna fight the callon that, but when you have
somebody as a lusive his card, you have to get him down on the
ground. And unfortunately a little bitlate there from Jake and with that penalty,
it's at the sixteen yard line ofWisconsin first and ten Dylond downing end
of running back cart back to throwthe offs on the left side end zone
for Birds. Reaches up in completedriven out of bounds by Alexander Smith beyond

(02:37:58):
that left edge of the zone andanother defensive gem from Alexander Smith. Second
down and ten per two at theBadger's sixteen. That was another opportunity there.
He finished through. He was actuallybeat I got maybe got there a
little early, but what he did, ruh, I don't know, They're

(02:38:20):
gonna west. He might have gota foot in bounds there. Alexander doing
all he could. He just showedthe replay up on the board and that's
what got our reaction as well asWatt's left of this crowd at ross Age
Stadium, it is definitely worth alook. Yeah, I thought Smith actually
got there early two had his backturned. If he got his foot down,

(02:38:43):
that is a whale of a playby a really good football player.
And Dion Burke's we need one footdown in college and that's what they're gonna
look at to see if in facthe got that foot down. We have
a minute fifty one remaining thirty eightseventeen Wisconsin call on the field was incomplete.

(02:39:05):
I'm gonna see if Burks got thatleft foot down and leves or no
touch the old white. I thinkso. What an effort though it was,
I think we got away with one. I think that probably should have
been a PI as well. Hegot there early, and Burks did a

(02:39:26):
good job of playing through that contactand almost getting his foots on. Who
knows what's gonna end up being called, but it looked like it's toe was
on the white. Taking a littletime to get this review time kissing Jersey

(02:39:50):
replay official. The voice we willhear the ruling on field stands is called
they didn't like it. No,they haven't liked much here. They've well,
it's been Wisconsin has been able toas you, overcoming a ton of

(02:40:11):
penalties, and in that case,I think we got away with one.
And then we're fortunate that Burkes wasunable to get that foot down before it
was out of bounds. So what'ssecond and ten per Dow at the Wisconsin's
sixteen a minute fifty one to playthirty eight seventeen. The Badgers three receivers
ride one on the left down downinto the right of the quarterback Card to

(02:40:33):
throw it. Badgers rushing four Cardunder prushure and he'll slide to the turf
at the fifteen yard line, Jeff, but Trusting chases him down. The
slide started at the sixteen, Somake it third down and ten. The
Boilermakers now will burn their second timeout with a been at thirty nine remaining.
Yeah, he you know, Igive Hudson Card a ton of credit.

(02:40:54):
He is been elusive out of thepocket. Wisconsin there did a nice
job a retracing fit. Trowsky dida nice job of kind of retracing his
pass rushing and was able to stopthat. But Card has done a really
good job of getting out of thepocket. He's run it when the coverage
is kind of dictated that He's alsokept his eyes down the field. That
I think Purdue has to feel reallygood about how he's played tonight, especially

(02:41:16):
in the second half. Yeah,we've talked about Mordecai and he's rushed for
fifty eight yards. Mordecai Cards rushedfor fifty and a touchdown. So and
that was the talk you're hearing downhere, is that the staff was like,
you go ahead and run it waswe trust you to do that,
and you know, obviously within reasonlike Mordecai, but we could see what
why they are okay with Card pullingit down and running it what he needs

(02:41:39):
to. Yeah, he's been funfrom up here to watch. He's elusive
and a real challenge for Wisconsin's defensetonight. Third down in ten, Card
to throw Badgers, bringing pressure fromPetrovsky and Card gets away, rolling right,
throwing right incomplete intended for you haveseen at the five yard line on
the far side, Ricardo home andon the coverage. Card again did well

(02:42:01):
to keep the play alive. Hedid he was able to elude the rush.
He stepped up and I'm glad hedidn't run there. He would have
probably been able to pick up thefirst down instead trying to jam it in
down on that right sideline. Notable to do it. So here we
go, fourth and ten per Dowat the Wisconsin's sixteen yard line with ninety
one seconds to play. Badgers upflight twenty one, Sheffield slot right.

(02:42:24):
I've seen why to the right,Burke's to the left, and ay time
out taken by Wisconsin would have beenat thirty one to blood. Yeah,
Wisconsin brought up a bunch of youknow, look showing Blitz trying to confuse
card, making him redeclare, andthen coach Fickle decided, let's just burn

(02:42:46):
a time out here again. Can'ttake him on the flight with you.
The Badgers will get in some practicesnext week. I was talking with Luke
Fickle about, you know, byeweek, and there's gonna be some rest
and recovery, to be sure, but you kind of view that as more
of a mental rest. But they'regonna still get their work in. As

(02:43:07):
I think we've all figured out withthis staff, they're not gonna let up
a tone, but you know they'vegot they've got this emotional thing right now
with losing chess, but Lucy herein this fourth quarter that they have to,
you know, try to work throughmoving forward. But it probably is
a team that could use a littlebit of a break after this year,

(02:43:28):
saying that this buy came at theperfect time to house it always does,
sir. Two receivers right and oneon the left on fourth down, card
looking looking plenty of time, throwsthrough his right and it's incomplete. Penalty
marker flies. It was intended foryou seen, and a passive affeiance against
the offense here. I think they'regonna get you seen for offensive passive affairance,

(02:43:50):
passive deference offense number two penalties declinethis time in tennis, kinds all
the Badgers can burn off the remainingone twenty three of this game, leading
at thirty eight to seventeen, Patrick, what do you have? There's a
lot been made about play calling airraid Phil Longo's offense. What that's gonna

(02:44:11):
look like? You know? Nowthrough four games, Wisconsin has run the
ball one hundred and forty eight timesand passed it one thirty, so they're
getting that balance that they wanted. But still running has been the predominant stat
tonight, forty one runs, twentyeight passes. They still know where their
bread is buttered with this offense, but that balance is what they've been seeking
and they're getting it. Two hundredthirteen rushing yards, one hundred and ninety

(02:44:35):
three passing yards is the Badgers gointo victory formation, Mordecai will drop to
a knee, and you'll need todo that one more time. I'm in
a twenty remaining and there's the Badgerswill win in this Big ten opener,
Big Ten Game number two. Theywill be when the calendar turns to October

(02:44:56):
and the Rutgurus comes to town. One minute remaining, Channa will let that
plot. Get the forty seconds, take one more knee and call it a
night. Got a forty five secondsto play. Mostually, you took the

(02:45:18):
stamp at forty two seconds, Soyup, they're good to go. Good,
ye good to go. Thirty fiveseconds in counting that, we'll wrap
it up with a seventeenth straight time, the Wisconsin Badgers will knock off the
Purdue Boilermakers as the Badger's dominance inthis series continues. More importantly, the

(02:45:39):
Badgers started Big ten play with awin. Yeah, and I think from
a coaching standpoint, you're obviously reallyupset and sad by what happened with Chez,
but from a standpoint of from astandpoint of being able to start fast
and do everything that you are lookingfor, they hit it and it's a

(02:46:00):
sweet wind heading into the body.Yes, sir, Bye week coming up,
and then Rutgers comes into Camp RandallStadium. Our final score. Wisconsin
thirty eight produced seventeen. We're backwith the postgame show, brought to you
by your local Wisconsin and Up fourdealers. This is Badger football from Learfield
