(01:26):
three four five zero zero eighty six. All right, so
weird midweek obviously no baseball games to speak of for
the Clempson Tiger baseball team. They'll get ready to go
to Florida State. Your third ranked Clympson Tigers will travel
to Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles one week after
falling in pretty poor fashion on the road at NC State.

(01:50):
Maybe a little regressing to the mean, just a bit
in terms of baseball, and perhaps the recognition of the
fact that you know it is a tough sport. To
continuously win at an incredibly high level. There are backslides
in the sport. It is a part of it all.

(02:13):
But coming into this weekend, certainly everybody looking to see
how this group feels after a week off and refreshed
and to be able to put what took place up
in Raleigh behind them. By the way, did not mention,
but I need to that the show The Shakespeare South

(02:34):
Lane has brought you in part by our good friends
over at METS Plumbing seven three two drip, drip, drip drip.
You know the jingle seven three to two drip. That's
Mets Plumbing, Mets Plumbing dot com. All right, But the
story today, I believe first reported by Larry Williams over

(02:55):
at Tiger Illustrated about the possibility, you know, Ian Shefflin
jumped into the portal as a basketball player to keep
his options open, but the possibility that Ian Shefflin may
very well be sticking around Clemson to give itself an

(03:17):
opportunity to play sports for the Tigers, just not the
sport that you might be expecting. According to Larry Williams,
Ian Shefflin may very well play football for the Tigers
this year. Now, this is something that dabos Sweeney has
mentioned in the past when talking about Ian Shefflin in
his skill set. You know, Shefflin was a football player

(03:40):
in high school. Leading up to high school I should
say six 't eight, two hundred and forty pounder. Dabosweeney
kind of talked about him maybe dabbling what kind of
weapon he could be for Clemson football at tight end.
And you know, Shefflin's a kid that played at grays
and high school basketball up till I think high school.

(04:01):
He played quarterback at one point alongside Phil Maffa, and
he played tight end growing up. But you know, obviously
turned his attention when he got the ninth grade to
focus solely on basketball and would get a scholarship to

(04:23):
Clemson and would become pretty much a legend in the
Vinesie Clemson fans because of what he was able to do.
And now there is the possibility that Ian Shefflin may
very well give it a go during the During an

(04:43):
interview at the ACC Media Days, Ian Shefflin said, I
could play some tight end. I actually have pretty good hands.
I think I'd be all right. Now, will this be
something that we in up seeing? Will Shefflin, who would
have an extra year. You might be wondering about his

(05:05):
eligibility because you know his eligibility and basketball expires, he
would have an extra year to play football the way
the scholarship or the timeline of his career works out,
and so you know, how would he how would he do?

(05:25):
How would he fare? I think it's tough to gauge. Obviously,
it's hard to reconcile his size in Little John Coliseum
on the basketball court with what he would look like
at tight end. Now. I've often said that I thought

(05:52):
that Lebron James would be the greatest tight end in
the NFL if Lebron changed and maybe not like today
at forty, but had he played basketball, it's could be
football instead of basketball. I always thought Lebron James, you know,
six nine to fifty, would have been a perfect fit

(06:15):
to be an elite given his speed, an elite tight end.
I always thought Lebron James, if he had crafted himself
to be a goalkeeper in soccer at six nine, two
hundred and fifty pounds with his elite speed, would have
been I believe the greatest soccer goalie in the world,

(06:38):
not in America, in the world, Like I think Lebron
James' physical attributes would have allowed him to be in
at least three sports the best player at his position
on the planet, and in two of them. Two of them.

(07:01):
I'm not sure it's close. But in football for Ian Shefflin,
he kind of carries a similar frame to Lebron James.
He does not carry the same level of athleticism to
Lebron James. He doesn't carry the same level of speed
as Lebron James. But could Ian Shefflin translate into a

(07:26):
tight end, I would imagine it would be one that's
more so in line with catching the football than blocking
and being aggressive in that sense. We've seen people in
the past at Clemson attempt to transition and play football.
You might remember that many years ago Harold Jamison had

(07:51):
been a really good football player in high school and
ended up playing basketball at Clemson as a forward, and
there were thoughts about maybe Harold Jamison being able to
make the leap to play collegiately in football at defensive end.
There was also some thoughts about a kid like Alu

(08:12):
Babolola getting an opportunity to perhaps play a little football
post basketball career at Clemson, and I would say. The
other would be former Clemson Tiger track star and a
kid who was an elite level track runner on the

(08:40):
global scale. Sean Crawford was gonna give it a little
bit of go of a go at running back and
Sean Crawford, best known for winning the gold medal for
the US at the two thousand and four Olympics in Athens, Greece,
ran a nineteen point seventy nine became the first former
Clemson now the win an Olympic gold medal. The thought was,

(09:05):
give Sean Crawford the football and get out of the way. Now.
In sports, like in life, a lot of different individuals
can fit a lot of different areas. It's pretty rare
that you could take a guy that played football, in
my opinion, and bring him into the basketball arena as

(09:28):
a high level basketball player. I mean, look no further
than current and very recent I should say, Clemson Hall
of Fame inductee and will be inducted into the Clemson
Hall of Fame New Hopkins. Hopkins played basketball at Clemson.
He was okay, but he was no gleaming light on
the basketball court. Another guy like Patrick Sapp who played

(09:53):
football and basketball at Clemson, but he was no great
basketball player by comparison to star basketball players. I think
that transition is a little bit more unique to the sport.
I think that you have to have a different type
of athleticism to be a superb basketball player. I think

(10:16):
the transition from basketball to football is an easier one
to make, and I think if Ian Shefflin does pour
into this, he'll have a chance to have an impact,
But again, I think it'll be a small one, not
a large one. Another name that kind of comes across

(10:38):
my brain as a kid who could really play both
sports was Braxton K. Williams. You may not remember Braxton
K playing football at Clemson. Was a pretty good football player,
and off the court, he was an outstanding basketball player.
As a matter of fact, one of the better basketball

(10:58):
players saw as a football player. The irony is about
basketball and football is There was one point where during
the history of this program, I was talking with a
former player, maybe it was Taj Boyd, and I asked
him who is the best basketball player on the football

(11:21):
team at that time, and his answer shocked me. He said,
Isaiah Battle, the offensive tackle, was actually the best basketball
player on the team. And I started thinking about man
all that weight, and I mean it's not like it's
not like you're talking about a guy that's like three
hundred and fifty pounds. But he went with Isaiah Battle,
who was a big kid, tall, athletic and really good

(11:45):
basketball player. But who are some of those other athletes
that you might expect that could have made the transition
from basketball to football and have had and would have
had some success, Because I think that's the more likely
scenario then the other way around, because if guys as

(12:08):
talented as Nuke Hopkins weren't impactful in basketball, it's hard
for me to imagine that you would be able to
just roll somebody out there from the football roster to
the basketball roster and say hey, go get them and
feel like it was a step in the right direction.
But I think the athleticism that is brought to the table,

(12:28):
and in some sense, like Ian Sheflin, the size that
is brought to the table in basketball can absolutely deliver
a player who can have a moment and have a
big I hesitate with the word big, big ist, so
such a broad word, but can have an impact. Let

(12:50):
me put that perhaps on the football team. And so
looking back, I think most of these guys would be
small forwards or power forwards in basketball. Here's why the guards,
in my opinion, are way too undersized. I think they're
too small. Now, could we argue that if you had

(13:15):
the athleticism of a Chase Hunter at wide receiver, you know,
maybe he could pull off the feet because you compare
his size and weight to maybe a wide out like
Tyler Brown or Antonio Williams. Yeah, I think the measurables
would probably be there and you could give him a

(13:35):
go if he wanted to. But I think the more
realistic nature is looking at the six foot six to
six foot eight freakishly talented guys who just have you know,
muscles galore, athleticism galore, and can really take advantage perhaps

(13:56):
of being a tight end when they get the opportunity
to have the ball put in their hands down the
field in the passing game. Now, the defensive end mindset,
that motor that you've got to have from the defensive
standpoint of things, I don't know if if everybody's got it.

(14:19):
Like if you told me ron Our Test was going
to be a defensive end. Now he didn't play at Clemson, right,
but if you gave me ron our Test, who I
believe played at Temple. If my memory serves me correctly
on that, I can double check it. But if you
gave me ron Our Test, or if you gave me

(14:39):
Dennis Rodman right, I mean, if you gave me those
guys that said they were going to be defensive ends,
I might agree that the possibility was certainly possible that
they could do it. By the way, taking a look here,

(15:00):
World Peace, the artist formerly know Saint John's what I say,
Temple had the right Tata, but the wrong yo yo.
I was pretty close anyway. I think those guys had
the right attitude to be defensive ends. And look at
their size, I mean ron Our Test right in that
range without even without even looking them up, six foot seven,

(15:25):
two hundred and sixty pounds, Dennis Rodman at his playing
weight six foot seven, two hundred and thirty five pounds.
I mean, that's that's got that that's the frame that
you you would want. I mean, I think R. J.
Godfree right is probably another name if you were going

(15:46):
to consider guys to roll over. And he's just now
getting back to Clemson from a year's stint at Georgia.
But that's kind of the frame that's kind of the
athleticism that I think you're looking for. I don't know
if RJ go. I'd like to believe, you know, I'd
like to believe that every player playing basketball, based off

(16:07):
of my knowledge of basketball and experience with your hands
versus how involved your hands are in football, I'd like
to believe that every basketball player should be pretty adept
at catching a football, except for maybe some of the bigs.
You get some of these lurches out there. You get
some lurches like I. Look, I enjoyed watching Victor Locke

(16:32):
in this past year for Clemson basketball. I don't want
him trying to catch a football on a key third
down conversion. Ian Shefflin. I guess we'll see if it
all comes you fruishing and the opportunity presents itself. But
in your mind and you could text me or call,
leave some message. We'll try to get you on the

(16:52):
show in the next day or so. Who is a
former player at a position that you would say, yeah,
you know what, I'd give him a run on the
football team. And look, Clemson's had dual purpose players before, right,
you had Kyle Parker at quarterback and then also playing baseball.
You had will Taylor doing the same. Dj Leeunglile some

(17:17):
people thought might play baseball as well. The feeling was
he could do both. And then now in coming Tate
Reynolds quarterback plans to play both for Clemson. But this
is a little bit different. This question is not hey,
who are the dual sport guys playing to sports at Clemson.

(17:38):
This question is more along the lines of who are
the players in your mind over the years that you've
witnessed playing basketball that you feel like you could bring
over and have them be successful at football. And I'm
sure that some of you have some names guys that

(18:02):
you saw and thought, man, that kid is an incredibly
gifted athlete. But the desire on the defensive side of
the ball, to me, the hunger that you've got to have, right, Like,
that's a different driving force mentally than it is what

(18:23):
kind of goes on in the head of an offensive player,
Like I think it. Look if you just talked about
Ian Shefflin, and you talked about his play, and yeah,
he was a good defender. But I think the transition
to the mindset of an offensive football player is easier

(18:47):
because basketball is certainly a defensive game. But you don't
score the way Ian Shefflin scores without having a little
more often minded mindset. Like go back to the other guys,
Dennis Robin and ron Our tests that I mentioned a
minute ago. I didn't bring either of those guys up

(19:10):
really and unless I misspoke here, in the sense of
I think they would be a great tight end. I
think their body style and their you know, they're the
way they played basketball would be more kin to a
guy than wanted to be on the defensive side of
the ball. Ron Our tests would absolutely be of those

(19:30):
two of Dennis Robbin and ron Our test would be
the one that I'd say, yeah, if he wants to
try tight end, we'll let him. But who are those
players that you've seen in a Clemson uniform playing basketball
that you think would be able to transition and play
well on the football field. That's what I want to know.

(19:51):
All right, we'll hit a quick break, we'll come back.
I'll run through a couple that I've come up with.
We'll also put the question out on social media to
see what you all think about it as well. Stay
with us Clemson Sports thought the show the Chase of
south Land. All right, So who are some other players
who are some other names we put it on social media,
we'll get some of your thoughts on it. In just
a little bit. I'll give you a couple that came

(20:15):
to mind just from my prior knowledge and hanging out
with these guys or being around them. I think number
one would be Rayfield Ragland. I mean, Rayfield Raglan was
a really good baseball player as well. But and that
might be a name some of you are going, who

(20:37):
Field Who? Well, Rayfield Raglan played at Clemson back in
the mid nineties, and he actually had a nephew, I
think that played at Alabama. I can't remember. I can't

(20:59):
remember his you know his name right off the top
of my head. But anyway, Rayfield was about six foot six,
and I could have seen him maybe being a guy
versatile enough at that height, because that's what I think
gets under gets forgotten about when you talk about the

(21:20):
size of a basketball player and a tight end, et cetera.
And yeah, those guys are big. Davis Allen's a big kid,
Jake Brennan Stool is a big kid. Christian Bettencore is
a big kid, and a six foot six basketball player
doesn't look like a big kid when he's on the
basketball court by seven foot one. But Rayfield is a

(21:43):
huge dude. I think he's a guy that probably, you know,
had he wanted to give it a go, could have
made a run at being a tight end. I don't
know that there's another position on the field where I
would have put Rayfield Raglan because he wasn't the biggest
guy in terms of in terms of his size. I

(22:04):
don't think he was pushing two fifty. I would assume
Rayfield probably played, probably played around two twenty, and you're
gonna get man maybe a little less of that, even
you're gonna get bullied pretty good on the football field,
I think at that size. But he would be one

(22:24):
that came to mind initially. The other one I thought
about he was a little herky jerky was James Mays.
Now some of you may not remember James Mays at Clemson,
but he kind of ran the top of the point
for the Tigers press under Oliver Purnell. Mays was about

(22:49):
six seven, two hundred and thirty two pounds. Pretty athletic
power forward slash center, but really more I think a
power forward in the sense of, you know, his frame.
I don't know how crisp his route running would have been.
But I would consider James Mays to be a name

(23:11):
that I would think probably had probably had the overall
athleticism to pull it off. James May's the former Clemson
Tiger power forward. Now there's probably a handful of shooting
guards that would have maybe had the athleticism to give

(23:37):
it a whorld on the football field as a little
slim wide out, you know what I mean. I think
we have to at least acknowledge that fact. Cliff Hammond's
Cliff Hammonds seemed athletic enough to me to put that
together and get after it if he wanted to. Like

(24:00):
Terrell McIntyre, no doubt, like Terrell. I think Terrell was
a quarterback in high school. But Terrell McIntyre was like
five foot seven, maybe five foot nine at best. I mean,
Terrell McIntyre was a tiny guy. He was small and
and I think that, you know, to believe that he

(24:20):
would be able to play wide receivers a little bit
far fetched from me. Maybe he could have been like
a kick return guy. Just put him the ball, get
him the ball in space, got a lot of wiggle.
I mean, we've seen players, what was the what was
the guy's name. It was a small running back from
Kansas State back in the day. Ah man. Let's see,

(24:44):
can I think of his name? Not duce Vaughn, not
duce vond, this would have been, this would have been
further back than that, ah Man. I can't think of it.
Darren Sprolls, Sprolls or sproll. I can't remember Darren Sproull.

(25:08):
It kind of came to me, but I can't remember
if his last name was Sprolls or sproll anyhow, I mean,
Terrell McIntyre's probably his size. Let me see if I
can find his real name? Is it Sproll or Sprolls,
Darren Sprolls, Sprolls, s p r o l E. S

(25:28):
all Right, Sprolls five to six, five foot six, one
hundred and ninety pounds. Let's see what, uh, Terrell McIntyre
was so five six hundred and ninety Terrell McIntyre five
nine one eighty five. So I mean by comparison, Terrell

(25:52):
McIntyre's a little bit bigger than Darren Sprolls. I don't know.
I don't know what that You know, if that can
translate to being a kick returner. But you know, the
initial thought of the question goes to the tight ends,
the defensive ends, the guys that are a little bit
bigger than the norm. The Harold Jamison's again, as I

(26:14):
mentioned earlier, I mean, Harold's the guy I think you
probably could have given a chance. On either side. You
probably could have said, all right, Harold, we're gonna let
you play defensive end. He probably could have done it.
He said all right, Harold, we're gonna let you play
tight end. He could have done it. But those would

(26:36):
be just some kind of off the cuff guys that
didn't play both sports collegiately, like Patrick Sapp and others
that we've seen do that, but just off the basketball
court at Clemson. Those are some names then I would
have at least given a little run. You know, I'm

(26:58):
not gonna get I like Tom Why I'm not giving
him the chance. I like Ray Henderson. You're not getting
to try out for the football team. Ray. Sorry, But
the names I gave you, maybe Greg Buckner that would
be one I'll throw out there. We'll see if the
fans said anything about Greg. Maybe Greg Buckner. I just
don't know what position in football. But I know this

(27:22):
buck was a heck of an athlete. I mean, he
was an unbelievable athlete. All right, with a quick break,
we'll come back. We'll take on long on what some
of you guys had to say overall social media about it.
Right after this, stay with us rocket and rolling along
with you on a Wednesday afternoon Clemson Sports Talk again.

(28:28):
It's Alumni Hall. Check them out online at alumni hall

So before the show, I pushed it out on social
media to beg the question, who is a player that

(28:48):
you would like to see from the Clemson basketball program
to go play football? Well, some people inverted that. Some
people inverted that and gave me football players they would
have liked to seem play basketball. Now that's a totally

(29:09):
different story. I didn't even consider the reversal of fortune,
you might say, when I posed the question out there.
But the question was more about basketball guys to football.
I can dive into football guys to basketball, absolutely, they exist.

(29:33):
But let's talk about some names that did translate to that.
I kind of talked about Terrell McIntyre a few minutes ago,
and Nick hit us up and said, what about Rod Hall?
Could he have played running back or safety? Now, Rod

(29:55):
Hall Stocky kind of fits that same billing that we
talked to about earlier, and I think had the attitude.
I think he had the attitude of that kind of
downhill player. I think that's why Nick probably put in

(30:17):
that conversation safety for Rod Hall. I had not considered
thinking about, you know, because I was really thinking more
along the offensive side of things for a lot of
these players. But I had not considered sort of that
who's got that scrappy attitude? Fights you for every inch?

(30:46):
And I think that in fairness, Rod Hall probably probably
does have that. That Rod Hall probably makes sense as
someone to consider to consider as a safety. Nick. I
think that's a great response, Kevin says, Trevor Booker, the

(31:14):
big lefty NBA athletic, great hands. You know, thinking about Booker,
okay for a moment, reminds me of watching Julius Peppers
do both. And Julius Peppers, I believe to this day,
is still the only athlete to have played in a
Super Bowl and in the final four that may have changed.

(31:39):
I know for certain he was the first to pull
off that feet but because Trevor Booker was left handed,
that reminded me of the left handed play of Julius
Peppers at North Carolina. And quite frankly, I think if
you consider now, I think Peppers had had and they

(32:00):
had a great personality. Could Trevor Booker have translated to
that type of player on the on the gridiron? Let's
see what was there? I wish I had a roster.

(32:24):
I wish I had a roster from a North Carolina
basketball program from you know that era nineteen ninety seven
when Julius Peppers was playing, because that would give me
an idea. Let's see, I'm I'm gonna throw it in

(32:46):
the Google machine. Basketball playing weight, because I mean, his
basketball playing weight had to be a little bit different,
a little bit different than his football playing weight. Now
on Line says at six foot seventy was two hundred
and ninety five pounds. I don't know. I don't know

(33:07):
if I believe Julius Peppers was two hundred and ninety
five pounds as a basketball player. Maybe he was, So
what was Let's see what Trevor Booker and I also
thought of another one they were talking about, Julius Peppers.
I'll bring him up, and I'll bring that name up
in just a minute before we get out of this segment.

(33:30):
Trevor Booker played at about two forty to twenty eight.
There's no there's no way Julius Peppers weigh two ninety
five playing basketball North Carolina. But anyway, the other the
other name that came to me because he kind of
had the same physique as Julius Peppers was former Clympson

(33:55):
Tiger Chris Hobbs. Chris Hobbs tragically passed away at just
thirty three years old in two thousand and fifteen. Man,
I always had so much respect for Chris Hobbs. Let's see,
I believe Hobbs did. Did he die of a Did

(34:19):
it turn out to be an enlarged heart? I think
that's what it was. I know it wasn't like a
tragic accident. I'm pretty sure that's what it was. Anyway.
I don't want to speculate any further about how he
ended up dying because I don't have that logged into
my memories. But I know he's a great guy. Used
to text him. But Chris Hobbs might have been a

(34:41):
name to know in the sense of potentially playing football,
maybe playing defensive end. See what his playing weight was,
looks like about two hundred and seventy five pounds. So
I mean, that's right in that vein with with Julius Peppers.
So I'm gonna go with Chris Hobbs. I would put

(35:02):
him on my list as well. All Right, we'll had
a quick break. We'll come back with more here on
Fox Sports Radio fourteen hundred and on the iHeartRadio app
final segment about what everyone We spent a lot of
time talking about football players or basketball players could play
football during this hour, spent a lot of fun kind

(35:23):
of going walking down memory lane. Some basketball players, maybe
they weren't the greatest basketball player, but maybe you feel
like they would have worked on the football field. And
the whole conversation coming up because Larry Williams from Tiger
Illustrated reported that Ian Shefflin may very well give it

(35:44):
a go with the Clemson football team this year, potentially
at tight end, maybe defensive end. We don't know. But
that got me thinking about, you know, over the years,
some guys that have tried both, but who were some
guys that didn't try? But you would have liked to
see him try. And so I put it out on
social media and asked a question. But I ended up

(36:05):
getting some reversals, if you will, and that's okay. Chip
hit us up and said Mike Epley would have liked
to see Mike Eppley perhaps play basketball. He also noted

(36:34):
that he would have liked to have seen t Higgins
on the basketball court for Clemson. And I'll be honest.
That one jumped off the That one jumped off the map.
For me, I was like, yeah, no doubt, no doubt
T Higgins in that situation. And the last one he

(36:56):
said was Stan Rome. And this becomes one of those
moments in the history of Clemson football. Did I just
I have no knowledge of I don't recall Stan Rome

(37:18):
playing for Clemson football. Six foot five and twelve pounds.
Rome apparently played college basketball as Clemson at Clemson as well,
and was drafted in the nineteen seventy eight NBA draft.
He was also drafted in the nineteen ninety nineteen seventy

(37:39):
nine NFL draft. So I would have to and that's
only after looking him up because I didn't know much
about Stan Rome. But I'd have to wave him, I
guess technically off the list, right because he did play
both at Clemson. So we'd have to take stan off
the list, have to wipe him from existence, like my

(38:00):
good buddy Marty mcflys. Yeah, so stand Rome, I can't
count after doing some more research on him because he
did play both at Clemson six foot five, two hundred
and twelve pounds, it does not say what position he played.

(38:25):
I'm assuming based off of twenty two receptions. He was
a tight end in football, and I'm assuming at six'
five back then he was a small. Forward they got
him a wide, receiver, okay six y five wide. Receive,
okay they listened a bit wide. Out, OKAY i see that. Now,
YEAH i. DON'T i don't recall one thing About Stan.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Rome.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
Sorry, stan if you're, Listening, stan if you want to
come on the show and give us some of your
accolades over the, years we'd love to have. You TEXAS
a three four five oho zero zero eighty six eight
oh three four five zero zero zero eighty. Six All,

(39:12):
Right so let's see other football, players other football players
WHO i would have liked to see play basketball At. Clemson,
huh that's a tough. ONE i, MEAN T higgins has
got to be top of the. Mark you gotta think

(39:33):
about like rangy, athletics, superb supreme athlete wide. Receivers, yeah
Maybe Mike. WILLIAMS i might put him in. There Mike
williams made some catches during his time At, clemson but
he didn't have that raw, athleticism in my, opinion that
you saw FROM T higgins. ANYTIME T higgins had the

(39:55):
ball in his. Hands who else would fall into that that?
Category going, back Like i'm trying to walk through these pretty,
quickly you know that that skill set it wide, out
that THAT T higgins had, Translates, man it really. Translates

(40:19):
and maybe there are some that didn't translate on the
football field That i'm not thinking. Of but that, framing,
athleticism the, vertical the, speed the explosion of A. T
higgins certainly slides in there as a player to. Consider

(40:46):
there's gotta be some other, guys so they could have played.
Guard gotta be. SOMEBODY i MEAN T higgins probably a
mean small. FORWARD i would Think i'm drawing a, blank
AND i can only go back so. FAR i, mean in,
FAIRNESS i don't know enough about all of the guys
in the eighties that maybe would have fit the. Billing

(41:07):
but even, then the passing game wouldn't have been so
significant that a wide receiver would just jump out at
you as a oh, yeah that's an obvious, Right i'm
trying to think about tight. ENDS i don't Think Jordan
leggatt would have been athletic enough to play basketball At. Clemson.

(41:29):
NOT i don't think it would have been any different
than New Co, Hopkins, Right SO i GOT i mean
your that's my measuring, stick, right Like Patrick sap And New,
hopkins guys that actually did. It IF i was trying
to think of somebody that would have a bigger impact
than those guys who were those names that played, football,
YEAH i don't. KNOW i MEAN i keep wondering if

(41:51):
there's a quarterback That i'm not thinking of that could
have been kind of A Charlie ward type. PLAYER i
don't remember. REMEMBER i don't remember what he dance or
being a good basketball player WHEN i was At. Clemson
SO i can't think of anybody right off. Hand Elon
green was a pretty good basketball, player BUT i don't

(42:14):
think he would fit that. Category tay. What we'll keep
our eyes on social. Media see what you guys have to.
Say quick, Break we'll come. Back our number two of
the Show The shakespeare South land on A wednesday is
around the band each Time Clemson Sports talk With Luwton.
Schwan it is our number. Two that's drive time right

(43:11):
here on the Show The shakes of South, Lane Clemson
Sports Salon swan hanging out with you on A. Wednesday
don't forget the Show The Shakes saline brought to you
in part by our good friends over at Mets plumb
in seven three two, Drip, drip drip. Drip you know
the jingle seven thirty two. Drip That's Met's, plumbing Mets
plumbing Dot. Com THAT'S i tell You i'm Gonna i'm

(43:35):
gonna work with. Somebody i'm gonnaigure out how to sing that.
VERSE i don't know how you sing that, verse Mets
plumbing Dot. COM i really struggle with that. ONE i
like doing the other. One it's. Fun check them out.
Today Met's, plumbing all, right talked a lot of football
in our number. One didn't expect to go that deep
in the weeds with that, conversation but, hey it. Was
it was a fun reflection on all of those those

(44:00):
players that were versatile and maybe could have done both
and will be interesting to see what does this season
hold For Ian shefflin potentially in football At. Clemson but
that's not the only topic on the docket. Today do
you want to get to several other things with you

(44:22):
here on the program this, Afternoon but one of those
is how quickly the sport can turn on the dime for. Somebody,
NOW i don't you know it's when you watch sports

(44:44):
there are players that you appreciate and, enjoy no doubt about,
it And Florida State's Jordan travis was a lot of
fun to watch, play and his injury in a matchup

(45:04):
Against North alabama In november of twenty twenty three changed
the entire dynamic around that season with The Florida State
seminoles and their potential to play for and maybe win
a national. Championship the impact the vast impact that his
injury had on the evaluation of The, seminoles who were

(45:29):
left out of the college football, playoffs were then stomped
By georgia sixty three to three in The Orange. Bowl
but a, chance you, know had he been, healthy that
Maybe Mike norvel and The Florida State seminoles win a
national championship before tanking it the following year with dj

(45:54):
lelle ungloa at quarterback for a few games before his
injury last. Season but the news came out earlier today
via a post on social media and a handwritten one
at that From Jordan travis that he will retire from

(46:14):
football because of the gruesome leg injury that he had
during his tenure at the latter stages of his tenure
with The Florida State. Seminoles he was drafted in the
fifth round by The New York, jets but he will
hang up his cleats and turn his attention elsewhere in the.

(46:38):
Sport he's not a guy THAT i think a lot
of people. Disliked he's a, smaller undersized, quarterback made a
lot of incredible. Plays was really fun to, watch quite,
frankly even though he's quarterbacking a team that you certainly
consider to be the, enemy so to, speak in the.

(47:02):
Sport But Jordan travis put out a statement, today a
handwritten statement a photo of, it, saying AS i reflect
on my, Journey i'm overwhelmed with. Gratitude from having the
opportunity to live out my dream At Florida State university
to hearing my name called in THE nfl, Draft i'm

(47:25):
incredibly thankful for everyone who is poured into me throughout
my life and. Career to my family and, friends your
unwavering support has meant everything to. Me to the coaches
who believed in me and gave me a chance to
play the. GAME i. Love thank. You to my, Teammates
thank you for pushing, me supporting me and becoming. Family
i'm forever grateful for the locker room memories and brotherhood

(47:49):
we built to the Entire New York jets, organization thank
you for believing in me and providing me with the
opportunity to live out the ultimate. Dream On november, eighteenth
twenty twenty, three my life and career took an unexpected.
TERM i gave EVERYTHING i had to the rehab, process
but despite my, efforts my leg never responded the way we.

(48:10):
Hoped after much prayer and consultation with my doctors and medical,
TEAM i have been medically advised to retire from the
GAME i love so. Deeply it's crazy how fast life can.
Change this is not the ENDING i had ever. Imagined
BUT i do trust The lord's plan above all. Else
and he Put proverbs nineteen twenty, one which, says many

(48:33):
are the plans in the person's, heart but it is
The lord's purpose that. Prevails he went on to say
thank you to everyone who's been a part of the
ride with love and sincere gratitude number. Thirteen and it
is hard not to hear the sincerity in that written

(48:53):
statement by Former Florida state Quarterback Jordan travis and if
you weren't rooting for him before and you, thought, man
what's up With Jordan, travis, whateverver whatever happened to, HIM
i think today you probably became a little bit of

(49:15):
a fan and probably are rooting for. Him whatever his you,
know success level becomes wherever he, goes whatever he. Does you,
KNOW i think it's easy to SAY i would like
to pull for that kid. Now fortunately For Jordan, travis

(49:37):
unlike players before him and in this the era before
now within IL i, mean he did make some money
At Florida. State how much he gotten to be able
to keep who knows estimates already got one point one,
million and that does not include his football scholarship or

(49:57):
other benefits he may have, received or even what he
may have made with this. CONTRACT i don't know what
his deal was with THE. Nfl that's really beside the.
POINT i think what we can at least say is
that there is an opportunity at least for some of
these guys to put a little coin in the, bank

(50:19):
because it takes a, while as you all, know to
earn a million dollars at year old nine to. Five
NOW i see a report that says he got a
four year four point two seven four million dollar deal

(50:39):
that's not guaranteed in THE. Nfl he would have had
a salary of about one point one million there as,
well along with the signing bonus of two hundred and
fifty four. Thousand so he's by no means, broke but it,
will you, know, start this will begin to push a

(51:02):
new tenure, AHEAD i guess you would say For Jordan.
Travis so that's some of the news that came out
earlier today THAT i. Saw wanted to relay because this
message just felt incredibly heartfelt and honest and, open and

(51:22):
in this era we don't always get, THAT i think
because it's behind the. Keyboard so really wanted to really
wanted to get that out there to. YOU a zero
three four five oh zero zero eighty, SIX a three
four five oh zero zero eighty. Six chime, in way,
in call in and be a part of the. Program
don't be. Afraid buckle. Up we're here every day talking

(51:45):
at sports with you on the show that shakes The.
Southland all, right shifting gears just a little bit. HERE
i did see this news from the folks over at on.
Three you, Know, mike you've A gamecockcentral Dot com part
of the on three. Network well the news today From all,
three the ownership group behind on three has Acquired rivals

(52:14):
and forges a partnership With Yahoo sports. Now the owner
of on three is a guy Named Shannon, terry And
Shannon terry has been involved in this type of business

(52:44):
for a significant amount of. Time Shannon terry was a
co founder Of rivals okay when it started and was
and was a part of the group that Sold rivals

(53:07):
To yahoo for about one hundred million dollars eighteen years
ago back in two thousand and. Seven terry then went
on to help found and begin to four Seven, sports

(53:30):
which many of you are familiar. With he was the
founder of two four Seven. Sports terry then sold to
four Seven sports TO cbs in twenty, fifteen and now
ten years later after starting up on three four years,

(53:53):
ago basically back In august of twenty twenty, One terry
is acquiring the property in which he once. Owned the
terms of the, deal including how Much rivals in the
own three ownership group are valued at and what Percentage

(54:15):
yahoo now owns of the parent, company were not. Disclosed
Yahoo's sports will have a seat on the parent company's
board and leverages large scale for content distribution and subscription.
Growth So Shannon terry Sold rivals to The, yahoo took that,

(54:40):
money built two four to Seven, sports sold that TO Cbs,
sports took that money made on, three and then in
four years Bought. Rivals AND i have a. THEORY i
have a theory on, it a little bit of. Theory and,

(55:01):
look obviously we have a, Website clemsonsports dot. Com we're.
Independent go check out the. Website you can put it
beside The rival. Site you can put it beside the
on three, site you can put it Beside, tigernette you
can put it beside The Clemson. INSIDER i think you'll
look at our site and, go, whoo that feels world.
Class that's. Great AND i love the work that all
those guys, do From davidhood At tigernette to our buddy

(55:24):
that comes on the, program Will Van dervoort On, fridays
from The Clemson insider to the job That Larry williams
and those guys do At Tiger, illustrated which was part
of The rivals now going to be on. Three, LOOK
i think the thing that you see here IS i

(55:45):
think if you go across the, board and some of
these sites at on, three which only had a handful
of sites by the, way were Previously rivals. Sites and
so with that taking, place that maneuver taking place on

(56:07):
three will be adding a lot of new sites in
the networks that maybe they don't already have a. Property
what will be interesting to see is like what happens
with The Rivals gamecock site now that The rivals on three.

(56:30):
Site they're excuse, me now that The South carolina on
three site, Exists, like what's that merger gonna look like
for Those i'm assuming what's gonna happen is a lot
of those companies are gonna get. Bounced they're just gonna Get,
hey The rivals group or whichever one's less popular or
has less subscriptions is probably gonna go. Away AND i

(56:51):
would assume sin it's on three Acquired rivals on three
will make the decision of which ones to cut and
which ones not To BUT i don't. KNOW i, MEAN
i would assume that there's gonna be a lot of
writers in the market BECAUSE i can't imagine this move
was made to completely combine all of these, guys because

(57:14):
there's only so much coverage is so many eyeballs you can.
Get and there have been a lot of great people
that have been let go from their jobs AT all
three in the past already some, names you, Know AND
i don't have a dog in the proverbial fight of

(57:34):
WHAT on three ends up doing with These rivals, Properties
but they are Acquiring Tiger. Illustrated Tiger illustrated will be
a part OF a, three And i'm assuming they will
keep the individuals working there that they currently have. Working
and if your favorite site is a rival, site you're

(57:58):
gonna have to get used to a new, look THE
on three, look because it's not going the other. Way
they're gonna take on the look of THE on three,
network which also brings into a whole conversation about the,

(58:20):
rankings and you, know you're dropping a network off that's
typically Been you, know when we talk about players and player,
rankings we often on our website REFERENCE on three in their.
Ratings but you also have to consider that every once
in a while we bring up what it's two four
seven say about? Them what DOES espn say about? Them

(58:42):
what Does rivals? Say, well now that's gonna be merged
in those lead analysts At. RIVALS i guess are coming
on board to be a part of these lead analysts
AT on, three AND on three had already done a
good job of acquiring talent in that you, know in that,
sense they'd already gone out and got some of the
better guys from two four seven as, Well and that

(59:06):
was kind Of Shannon terry's. Mindset and my guess would
be based off Of Shannon terry's track record THAT on
three will at some point in the next five years
be sold possibly back to who, KNOWS Cbs sports or whoever,
else and then he will move on and create something.

(59:30):
New but to buy the thing that you once sold
eighteen years ago is an impressive. FEAT i, mean that's
an impressive. Feat to build two, things well now three
that were as successful as what he built is also.

(59:55):
Impressive AND i would, assume, again Maybe i'm, wrong maybe
they're gonna roll the Since Yahoo sports is still a
part of this. COMBINING i, mean maybe they, don't maybe
they roll everything back to the to The rivals. Network
BUT i Think all three's got the name right now

(01:00:17):
that a lot of people really associate with the. RECRUITING
i think a large part of a large part of
that because Of Hayes's fawcet and his connection to the,
players to the. RECRUITS i would say my biggest disappointment
about this moment is not about them, combining but the

(01:00:38):
fact THAT i was talking With Hayes fawcet well before
he was working WITH a three to try to learn
a little bit, about you, know how he was doing
what he was doing with his, graphics WHEN i should
have been talking to him about how DO i bring
you on board and let's CREATE a three something like? That,

(01:01:03):
right how we create something that can disseminate recruiting information
from coast to coast for all those. TEAMS i, mean
fans are, passionate we know, that but this is a
big shift and some of it may not be good
for certain individuals who may not like the on three,

(01:01:26):
platform any new. Website it takes a lot Of it
takes a lot of adjusting to get used to. IT i,
mean that's just a part of. It. All they GET
a three four FIVE h zero zero eighty six as

(01:01:48):
the text line in the phone, line and again be
a part of the program twenty four hours a, day
seven days a week over on our, Website clemson Sports
talk dot. Com all, right Our Los Angeles. Lakers our
backs are against the. Wall actually started chuckling last night
thinking about. That like those of you that hate The.

(01:02:08):
Lakers WHEN i say Our Los Angeles, LAKERS i do
wonder what goes through your head, anyway will touch bases
with what's going on in THE nba when we get,
Back stay with, us rolling Along Clempson Sports, talk Long
swammer On twitter At Clemson Sports go follow us. Again

(01:02:31):
THE nba playoffs, underway and it could be the end
tonight already for Our Los Angeles lakers as they take
On minnesota at ten o'clock ON tnt And TRUE. Tv
down three games and, one it's back In Los. Angeles

(01:02:52):
Anthony edwards is a. Monster he's tough to deal. With
The lakers have played the same, Players all five that
started the second half In game four played the entire.
Half they did not sub one. Time that's, RISKY Jj
reddit rolled the dice didn't work. Out now their backs
are against the, wall they're at. HOME i still really

(01:03:14):
Like Los angeles in this series Because i've seen how and,
LOOK i get. It Anthony edwards can take over a,
game But luca is that same style player and can
put up forty forty five in a. Blink even though

(01:03:36):
they trail three games to, two The lakers are favored
by five and a half at home ten o'clock. Tonight
at seven thirty, tonight The Golden State, warriors who also
lead their series against The rockets three games to. One The,
rockets by the, way were the two seed Out, west

(01:03:58):
so the two in the three seeds night on the
brink of being, eliminated which would set up with A
Timberwolves Warriors round two matchup a six and a. Seven
you got you gotta think The, thunder The Oklahoma City,
thunder who swept The, grizzlies would love nothing more than

(01:04:20):
for The nuggets And clippers to go, seven which right
Now denver leads three games to two after their victory
last night over The, clippers and to have the six
and the seven seed. Eliminated Oklahoma city might be. Cruising
they were the top team in THE. Nba they might
be cruising towards THE Nba Championship. Series out in The,

(01:04:45):
East cleveland just walloped The heat four, games tone one
eighty three in their final game of that. Series to,
advance they'll face The, pacers who beat The bus four
games to. One have we Seen yannis in his final
game with The Milwaukee. Bucks The pacers win at one

(01:05:08):
nineteen one. Eighteen a wild turn of. Events The bucks
have the ball pass out to the, wing just slips
right THROUGH i can't remember the guy's, name slips right
through his, hands out of. Bounds pacers get the, ball
come down the other. Way Tyler halliburton layup good and

(01:05:29):
then there was not much time left in the same,
Guy let's see IF i can get his name real.
Quick the same guy who had the late turnover ends up,
hoisting you, know even a three. Pointer Gary Gary Trent

(01:05:49):
junior did have thirty three points in the, game but
that turnover crushing in. Overtime indiana, Advances so it'll be
The pacers and The cavaliers in the second round of
The eastern side of. Things The celtics have already eliminated

(01:06:13):
The Magic nine the other, day four games to one
in that, series and then The knicks can put the
bed The pistons in their next, matchup which comes up
tomorrow at seven point. Thirty so the playoffs are, advancing
The east just missing one final piece to get to

(01:06:33):
the conference. Semifinals The west there's a lot of work
to be, done a lot of work to be done
by Our Los Angeles lakers down three games to, one
ten o'clock. Tonight we'll see how that shakes. Out. Now
the other thing about THE nba playoffs THAT i like
is the fact that it, is of course also THE

(01:06:54):
nhl playoff. SEASON i like the fact that these two
sports have their playoffs in conjunction with one. Another and
last night The Carolina hurricanes win their series against The
New Jersey devils four games to. One The hurricanes trailed
three nothing at the end of the first, period then

(01:07:15):
they come blazing back to tie the game in the
second period three to, three only to fall behind again
and then to answer less than five minutes later with
a game tying goal By Sebastian jaho to make it
four to. Four the two teams would be scoreless in

(01:07:38):
the third period and the first, overtime but then in
the second overtime it Was aho again on the power,
play five to for the. Final The hurricanes advance to
the second round of THE Nhl. PLAYOFFS i can't wait
for The hurricanes to win another. CUP i, MEAN i

(01:08:03):
don't talk hockey. Much some of you don't know the.
RULES i have said in the, past AND i stand
by high definition television is the best thing that's ever
happened to. HOCKEY hdtv is the best thing that's ever
happened to hockey In america at, Least, swanye that's a

(01:08:26):
that's a hot. Take would you say the ability to
freeze water inside is probably the best thing that's ever
happened to. Hockey, okay second best. THING i guess hockey
was only played on the ice back in the, day
like like literally like on an icy. Lake now we
can at least get the thumbs up to refrigeration and

(01:08:51):
the ability to freeze. Stuff, OKAY i will credit that
as the that's the biggest high definition. Second so THE
nhl playoffs are underway as, well if you do want
to catch, those but The Carolina hurricanes have advanced and
we'll be waiting around until the second round of the

(01:09:13):
playoffs Tonight montreal And washington at, Seven florida And Tampa
bay at seven, thirty And Saint louis And winnipeg at
nine to thirty. Tonight so a lot of hockey action
going on as well AS nba action as the playoffs
are here for both of those two. Sports god to

(01:09:37):
love this time of year if you're a, player because
if you don't like this sport during the regular season
for whatever, reason seasons two long players don't play enough.
Defense whatever your reason is in, basketball whatever your reason
is in, hockey that matter to. Me playoff sports is
amazing and both leagues delivering it at the same time every. Year.
Spectacular stay with. Us lawton s On Clempson's Sports. Talk

(01:10:01):
SO i saw this news out of THE nfl. Today
Former Denver bronco Quarterback John Elway Pro Football hall Of
fame Quarterback John elway has been an executive in THE
nfl for many years as. Well John elway's business, partner

(01:10:28):
agent Friend Jeff, spurbeck was killed tragically in a golf cart,
accident And John elway was the driver of the vehicle
or THE i guess you'd call it A. ATV i

(01:10:51):
mean it's a golf. CART i don't know how souped
up it. Was The Riverside, County California corner Confirmed spurbek's
death in a news release from The Sheriff's. Department spurbak
was Injured saturday night In, Laquinta, california and declared dead
Early wednesday at A Palm springs. Hospital according TO, Tmz

(01:11:12):
elway was driving the golf cart when Spur bak fell
off and hit his head on the. Asphalt Spur bank
had been sitting in the passenger. SEAT tmz also reported
that he had been on life support following the. Fall
The Riverside County Sheriff's office is investigating the, incident THOUGH
tmz reported there was no indication That lway was driving
negligently when Spur bak fell after the two men and

(01:11:35):
their spouses had left a. Party elway won Two Super
bowls during his sixteen YEAR nfl, career all with The.
Broncos he later served as The broncos general manager and
executive vice, president then transitioned to a consultant role until
his contract expired In march of twenty twenty. Three tragic

(01:12:01):
set of the circumstances there For John, elway and certainly
at this point obviously it doesn't seem like there was
anything negligent done on his, Part but MAN i saw
that and, thought, WOW i can't even imagine. Now speaking
of THE, nfl we talked about the prank call that

(01:12:30):
was made To Shdor Sanders. Well according to, Reports New
York giants Rookie Abdul carter also received a prank call
during THE nfl. Draft his, Agent Drew, rosenhaus told ESPN's
Adam schefter earlier today the call Came thursday night when

(01:12:50):
The Jacksonville jaguars were on the clock after acquiring the
number two pick from The Cleveland. Browns the caller said
he was from The jaguars and Told carter they were
going to select him second. Overall rosenhaus Told, schefter, quote
it's unfortunate that these private numbers are getting in the
into excuse, me are getting to the people making the prank.

(01:13:14):
Calls abdullah AND i knew it WAS bs and didn't
even tell his family about the. Call of, course The
jaguars Took Travis hunter with that. Draft now what did, happen,
however With Jeff ulbrich's son and the prank, call the
fact that this kid put it on social media as friends.

(01:13:35):
Did what a bunch of? Dufass THE nfl fined The
Atlanta falcons a quarter of a million dollars two hundred
and fifty, thousand and they find his father one hundred
thousand dollars On wednesday for the prank. Call THE nfl
is looking into other prank calls made to players during the,

(01:13:57):
draft but said they are unrelated to the. Call Maids.
Sanders other players who apparently received prank calls in addition
To Abdul carter where The Browns mason The Browns Mason,
Graham Indianapolis, Colts Tyler, warren The Philadelphia Eagles kyle, McCord

(01:14:21):
and The Buffalo Bills Chase. Lunt, NOW i don't know
how people's numbers would be getting out, there because a
lot of these, guys if you didn't know, this get
new phones specifically for this purpose so that that their
numbers not out there and. Available but long story, SHORT

(01:14:47):
i you know you there's nothing you could. Do and quite,
FRANKLY i get it that the number That olbrick used
got out from The falcons because of his, Father But
i'm not. Sure i'm really not sure how you would

(01:15:14):
hold somebody else, Accountable like let's say The jaguars one
was just a random a random fan who somehow had
Abdul carter's. NUMBER i don't know how they can't find
anybody for, That but you can't change what. Happened then
it's the exact same thing that happened unfortunately To Shador.
Sanders but because you can tie it to The falcons

(01:15:38):
and their defensive, coordinator you could certainly find, them even
though it was his, son who's, not by the, way
not an employee of The Atlanta. Falcons can you imagine
doing something like, that being dumb enough to put on
social media and then you're dad has to pay one

(01:16:01):
hundred thousand dollars and your dad's company has to pay
two hundred and fifty thousand dollars because of something you
said and. Did that's that is, wild not exactly a
conversation most college kids want to have with their parents

(01:16:23):
after the. Fact and you, know you know, what he probably,
WELL i don't. KNOW i won't say he probably gets
away with. It i'll say he likely gets away with
it if the video never comes. Out and the video,
ALSO i think for a lot of people change sort

(01:16:44):
of the tenor of how they Perceive Shdor sanders to
a degree because it you, know it's a big, day
regardless of what you think about the. Kid and to
be somebody that would be so, low that's the Word i'll,
use to be so low as to call and fake

(01:17:04):
and pretend to be a franchise, to you, know to
get this kid up and excited about his opportunity and
then squash it by being. FAKE i don't think you
make a lot of fans like. THAT i don't think
a lot of people are, like, oh, yeah that was,
Awesome how great was? THAT i think most people are, like,
yeah that was. Wrong no matter what you think about Shirdor,

(01:17:26):
sanders that was. Wrong all, right quick, break we'll come.
Back we'll put a bow on The wednesday edition right after.
This stay with.

Speaker 2 (01:17:31):
Us what have you done for me? Lately it's a fair.
Question just don't lose sight of the bigger, picture don't forget.
History lucky for us At, clemson the answer to the
questions what have you done for me?

Speaker 1 (01:17:53):
Lately and what have you? Done always are the. Same
we win. Sometimes final segment on A wednesday, Afternoon Clemson

(01:18:53):
Sports tall log swan having a good time hanging out with.
YOU Nba action The night IN Hl action The. Night
No clemson baseball this. Week they'll pick things Up friday
on the road In tallahassee against The Florida State. Seminoles
will be a big series for, sure especially when you

(01:19:14):
look at the current rankings in The Atlantic Coast. Conference you, know,
obviously leading up to this past weekend AGAINST Nc, State
clemson had positioned. THEMSELVES i, mean they were in a
they were in a great. Spot you couldn't you couldn't

(01:19:34):
call it the catbird, seat but they were certainly close
to the cat bird. Seat. Well NOW Nc state is
the top team in The Atlantic Coast conference in conference
play at fifteen and. Six they're thirty and thirteen. Overall
Florida state is second currently they're twelve and. Six of,

(01:19:59):
course they had a series they didn't play at home
because of the tragic shooting that took place on their
campus a few weeks. Ago The seminoles are thirty one and.
Nine North carolina And Georgia tech are both fifteen and
nine in conference, play and Then clemson currently is sitting

(01:20:20):
in fifth place at thirteen and eight and as the
number three, team number three team in the, country but
fifth in your. Conference this is a big. Weekend you
win these three games now you're sixteen and, eight you

(01:20:40):
will Surpass Florida, state you will Surpass Georgia tech because
they're not playing conference games this, weekend and Notre. Dame excuse,
Me North carolina they're not playing, either so you would
pass both teams, there and you should and you should

(01:21:01):
be sitting in a pretty good. Spot and then depending
on what happens WITH Nc state the Wolf pack this
weekend taking On miami down In Coral, gables you might
could jump all the way back up to first place
in The Atlantic Coast. Conference now Behind clemson Is duke

(01:21:22):
at fourteen and ten overall in the. League louisville And
miami are both twelve and, Nine virginia's eleven to ten
in conference. Play Wake forest is twelve and, Twelve Virginia
tech eleven and, Thirteen Notre dame ten and. Fourteen Boston
college is nine and, Fifteen stamford seven and, Seventeen pitt
six and. Fifteen in col is in last place in

(01:21:46):
THE acc at six and eighteen in conference. Play so
based off of who you're, playing the second rated team
in the conference right now at twelve and, six the
fact that two teams in front of you by a
couple of, Games North carolina And Georgia tech aren't playing
conference games is this, weekend and THE Nc state got

(01:22:08):
a tough road. Series there's a legit chance that you
know this this weekend Against Florida, state if The tigers
could do what they did last, week they could put
themselves back on top of the. League, now if they
do exactly what they did last, week which is get,
swept then all of a, sudden you're thirteen and eleven

(01:22:34):
and you're middle of THE Acc now we've seen how
good this team can. Be we've seen the flashes at,
moments and last week WAS i like to think just
a little bit of that the season struggle bus that
you ride every once in a. While and my hope

(01:22:55):
is that they won't jump back on you know that
train anytime. Soon but that makes this a, monster monster
weekend For Eric backache and The Clemson. Tigers don't Forget.
Tomorrow coming up on the, Program Legendary clemson sid and

(01:23:20):
now will be inducted into The Clemson hall Of. Fame
Tim berat will join the. Program we'll talk with him
about that, Honor we'll talk with him about some of
the other, honorees some of the other individuals who are
going to be joining him in the class of twenty
twenty five of The Clemson hall Of. Fame Tim beray

(01:23:41):
based off of his forty, years forty years of service To.
Clemson LIKE i think about, that like forty years of
doing the same job and still sticking around and doing.
THAT i would imagine in his capacity with what he was,

(01:24:07):
doing and knowing how much he loves, SPORTS i get
the feeling that it's one of those jobs WHERE i
guess you're tired and you run down and you work,
hard but you probably don't feel like it's. Worked if
you love, it if you love the, sports you know
WHAT i. Mean if you love, sports if you love,
stats if you love crunching, numbers digging in the, archives

(01:24:29):
it's kind of, like you, know family history or. Something
it's pretty cool that Timber ray is going to be
honored as such up In. Tigertown can't wait to talk
to him about that. Tomorrow all, right we got to
get out of. Here thank you for being a part
of the program until. Tomorrow as, always you'll take care
