Swanny returns from vacation after almost getting run over by Yao Ming at Epcot.

vac took in Disney World down in Orlando, hit up
the Magic Kingdom, hit up Animal Kingdom, hit up Epcot,
hit up the Hollywood Studios. So we did the gauntlet
four days and I can tell you walked my rear
end off at that place. The last time I went

(01:49):
was about ten years ago with my kids and my wife,
and the difference in when we went back then there
was this World Beer Festival at at Epcot, and it
was awful trying to navigate that area because there were
so many people. But that was when the Frozen ride

(02:09):
was brand new, and so of course my daughter, who
was about four at that time, wanted to go see
Anna and Elsa and ol Off and all that, and
it was the new ride, so and it was the
Epcot so we went, and then we had no idea
about that beer festival and it was just awful, but
we still did the ride. And the animatronics of that
ride were new, like you could tell they were using
like projectors to do the faces. It wasn't that showbiz

pizza chuck e Cheese robot style animatronics that we saw
from back in the day. And I didn't realize how
vastly they had changed all of those rides since the
last time I was there, But so many of them
now had that similar animatronic video overlay that really made

(02:51):
them look realistic. Now you got your classics right, like
it's a small world after all that. I don't know
that it's changed all that much since it was first created.
Just the nostalgia of that ride and the number of
people that want to ride it is pretty cool. But
all in all, I got to say the four days
park Hopper Pass, all of that was really awesome. Me,

my wife, the kids, and my wife's mother and her
stepfather all went and man, it was a lot of fun.
And they had gone with us ten years ago. My
wife and kids went one other time without me with
one of my wife's friends, so they had seen some
of these rides that I had not, and I was
kind of taken aback by it all. I really appreciate

(03:39):
the four D experience. I don't know if you're familiar
with that, but that's when they, in addition to kind
of the three dimensional space, add the water. You might
get wet for a minute with like a broom or
a heat when you're in an oven, or even smells
when you're in the kitchen, like on the Ratituy ride
that was in France at Epcot. But speaking of Epcot,

when we got off of this ride called Soaring or Sore,
I can't remember the exact name. It was a ride
where you kind of strapped into this device and it
lifted you up and there was a huge screen in
front of you. You've probably seen some of these venues
for sports and they've got these new like three sixty

(04:26):
immersive experiences where when you're sitting at the bar the
venue that exists, you feel like you're right at the game,
or at least on the front row. It's kind of
wild how big the screen is. And that's how the
soaring ride works. And as we went up, my feet
were dangling over the edge of this seat. Right we
were on the fourth floor of this thing. You could

look down and see the other people below you, so
you knew that we were up in the air, and
they kind of add to the ride by moving the
seat that you're in. But as I was going up,
I thought to myself, man, my feet felt really close
to that bar, and I in the middle of ride,
I thought, man, what do taller people do? Because I'm
not some huge guy, you know, five ten, five ten

and a half if I'm lucky, maybe five eleven depending
on what shoes I'm wearing. But I started thinking, like,
what if there was like a big person, Like what
if there was like a seven footer, you know, something
along those lines six' ten up in? There how does that?
Work because my feet looked really close to, me and
maybe my feet weren't all that, close but it felt
like they were close to this bar as they were
raising up our. Ride so we do soar we get.

Off if you're wondering Where i'm, going this is where
this whole trip just kind of went To Brazerco. World
we go out the doors as if we're leaving the
rod and my son AND i look to our immediate
left and there is a huge, INDIVIDUAL i, mean the

biggest human Being i've ever seen in my, life. Y'all
number one pick in THE nba, draft one of the
most famous, individuals probably given his profile In, china probably
one of the most famous individuals on, earth and certainly
one of the most recognizable at seven foot six that

had been on our, ride and so we were literally
right behind. Him, now my daughter did not know who he.
Was my wife's friend that was with us also did not,
know and she could not figure out why my son
AND i were like talking about this guy just a little.
Bit you, know we're trying to videotape. Him i'm, Like
i'm trying to, like CAN i get a picture with?

Him she god to ask. Him but, anyway as we
first see him, approaching my son AND i both, say,
like Dat Yao, ming and he takes a couple of
strides in front of. Us he's got a little security,
detail maybe a friend with. Him i'm not one hundred
percent sure who that. Is and then there was another
guy that was where in like a foot joy, shirt

just looked like a regular. Guy come to find, out
he's like the head of security For. Disney and when
we when my son AND i were talking just Behind
y'ao and his the other two guys that were with,
HIM i said to my we both, Said, god That's Yao.
Ming and the guy turned around, like pipe. Down we
don't want we don't want any extra attention For Yao.

Ming AND i thought to myself in that, moment AND
i have continued to think about, that because you are
talking about a seven foot six Inch asian, guy a
guy From, china who is going to stick out like
a sword throne no matter where he. Goes but yet

when my son AND i, said, ah that's, uh That's Yao,
ming we were, hush don't let people know who he.

Is, well that's the dumbest Thing i've heard.

Of like Maybe Lebron james could go to a theme
park and figure out how to hide his. Identity maybe
at six, eight he's noticeable and he has a specific
frame that's gonna stand out even. More so Maybe Michael
jordan at six foot six would blend in even better amongst.
Individuals and we could go on and on down to

say somebody from back in the, day LIKE i don't
Know Kevin johnson of The Phoenix suns back in the.
DAY i Bet Kevin johnson could walk around At epcot
Or disney and a handful of people might recognize him
because he's pretty normal. SIZED i don't even like to
use the word, normal but he's average, sized, right, ladies,

gentlemen Yell ming is seven foot. Six he's A chinese
guy that is seven foot. Six when he could, listen
he had to. Duck we were behind him for quite
a while because again he got off the ride right
in front of. Us and so as we're walking down
this corridor and we got a great picture of my
wife took picture me and my kids and yaoming just

ahead of. Us it gives a pretty realistic image of
how big he is by comparison to, us to his,
head to the, roof and then there are these signs
that are hanging down in This Epcot world that we were,
in and nobody in their right mind when they hung
those signs would ever believe that anybody was gonna have
to duck under, them and he was having to duck
down underneath. Them, now come to find, out looking at

the individuals that he ended up walking to and catching up,
with and he had this custom tour going on At,
disney and there were other people that saw, him and
it looked like he did a couple of parks both.
Days and there's some videos on social media THAT i
did see that people took and put out of him
walking like down the main street and you'll see his little.

Entourage there's not a lot of information out, there or
at least videos out there on, him But i'm pretty
sure the individuals that he connected with where his, wife
who was very. TALL i think she was like six'
to three maybe, six four and, his parents who are
both tall, as well but seven Foot Six, Yao ming,

i've seen, you. Know INDIVIDUALS when i Was, At Clemson,
CHASE matheeni, i think up until, this point would have
been the largest human Being that i'd ever seen in terms.
Of Height When chase metheeni Played at virginia back in the.
LATE nineties i think he was checking in at about seven,
foot four but he was he. Was thin he was

rail thin Like, minw. BOWL right i did Not see
Man new. Bowl play he was seven. FOOT eight i
did Not See taco. Fall play But Even yao ming
at seven foot six is Taller Than. TACO fall i
Didn't See, sean bradley who was also seven, foot six,
That guy and you, Know what i'm gonna say, This

TOO and i didn't think about this until. Just now
we did not get to See when minyama play When
the spurs Came, to charlotte but we did get to
See Wym bin yama just not right, beside him just
not turning, a corner and here he is coming off
of this. Ride massive and the, THING is i watched

some Videos On yao ming after, the fact and we
got a lot to get to her on the program
today in terms Of The. Clemson tigers obviously, Last Week
dablo sweeney meeting with the, media TOMORROW the acc kickoff
beginning Up in charlotte hour. Number Two william qwalkinbush joins
the program. As well but one of the things that
just kind of taking it all In with. Yao ming

he is an incredibly, nice guy an incredibly. Nice individual
AND what i really hate about it all is when
that security guy, was, like hey, pipe down we don't
want people to we don't want people to know who this.

i have no. IDEA how, i mean there's one video
of him that looks like he's getting ready to board
this tiny little module where you're, riding, around like, oh
man what's the guy's Name From, toy story Buzz? Light

in this little cart and you're shooting targets. OR whatever
i have no idea how he got in. That cart
there were so many Things At disney world that were
hard for me to get in and. Out Of and
i'm not sick, Foot four i'm not six. Foot ten
it had. Dog gone i'm surely not seven, foot six

but there, he was Big yal ming. All right so
it was a big WEEK while i was away Up
in tigertown as we got a chance to Hear from
davosweeney and the, coaching staff great Moment From ben bullwear
even had a chance to Hear From, kevin kelly Who

is clemson's director Of player evaluation, and acquisition. You know
so it wasn't, just, coaches right, but again as as,
we should we Opened With. Dabo sweeney.

around all. The staff got a great group, of people
really just, great people, you know first and a bunch
of good coaches you know on top. Of that so just, excited,

next step of our twenty twenty, five journey it is
obviously not starting for. Us today it's just kind of
the next phase as, we've been, you know building to
this Point. Since january everything kind of builds as we
go and and this is the, next.

BACK going i got a senior meeting, After this we've
got a team meeting today.

get the plane off, the ground if. YOU will a

Good summer it's a. Focus group proud. Of them i'm

excited to meet with the with, the leaders uh WHEN
when i get out, of here and and look forward
to getting with. The team hadn't really had a full
team meeting in a, few weeks so good to get
back in front of.

Right way then the leadership and the guys that we
really need to to.

Set, THE tone i think have done a good job.

a couple of weeks of training AND some O t
a type stuff where you get out on the field
a little bit with some meetings and that's something we
do this this phase.

As well and then we'll start the twenty ninth as.

Far as a couple of days of kind of, administrative
meetings and then first practice is the, thirty first and,
then uh, you know then you get into that step
in that phase of camp and in the school and
and then into your. Game, prep, so uh. FUN time
i love this time. Of year there is a ton.
Of energy uh you can just kind of feel it,

on campus, and uh. It's awesome it's great to. See
y'all hopefully y'all have all had a great summer as well,
and enjoying, you know, some time a little bit, of,
downtime whatever a little downtime you get really probably never

Since Nineteen so i'm excited about that for, our fans

About but sweeney was asked about the competition at punter
and what that. Looks like he was actually asked about

Chance to, You Know brydon jacobs got all those. Reps right,
You Know, TRISTAN lee i mean we've seen him play.

were able to and you get a ton of work
some of the. Young guys but just being a, complete
team getting everybody out there where.

what we needed to do to develop. Our team so

Program accordingly, you know he gets knocked all the time
for not wanting to take. The transfers that's not really
at the heart. Of it he's not bringing anybody that
doesn't have the right, fit right and we all know what, that.

not fit. The culture and he's developed a winning culture

THERE and i respect him for what. He's done but
on the, other hand it's also a program that is
regarded as a. Premier program and so we've got an,
incredible challenge one that we're, excited about one that we're looking.
Forward to we still think we Are The. Death valley

day it's about the RESPECT that i have for him
and what he's developed in his program and then, maintaining that,
you know consistently year and a.

chris rump and noting the hesitancy with which they TALKED.
About tj Parker And, peter woods and they were getting
a lot, of Hype and, i'm, thinking, oh well they're
just doing the, you know they're doing, the uh, you
know motivation through the. Media thing they don't want to

kind of playing. The game and that's kind OF what, I,
thought well these guys are gonna, be awesome and they're
just playing. The, game well, in reality there were legitimate

worked quite as hard in the all season and, et cetera.

take the coaches very seriously when they are hesitant about
things that we on the outside feel. Sure about and
there are a lot of people and units and coaches
and decisions that are getting hype right Now. Around CLEMSON

so i just sort of asked, those QUESTIONS and i
know other people ask, those questions and, then real are
there questions this?

TEAM yeah I mean i think you have questions, at
safety you have questions about potentially, defensive end you have
questions at, running back you have questions, that uh, tight
end you have like you have some questions on. The
team but the reality is that nobody hesitated in calling
the season what it was and there was none Of

If gart riley had shrun up and, been, like well, You,
know kate, YOU know i think we need to hold
on a, little bit like that's a pretty, you know
if he's really, doing that not just the stuff where,
he says, you know he's got to keep, getting better

if he was really trying to pull the reins back,
on it and you could tell then that would be
a little bit of a. RED flag i got none
of that. This year so that's sort of a long

winded way. To say everybody seems pretty confident that this
team could be whatever it is that they want to
be as long as they do the. Right stuff and
it feels like if You're a clemson fan and wants
to believe that every single thing you've ever held in
your hands is within your grasp, once AGAIN then i
think you will be right to.

so much from a year ago until what we saw

know how much more there is for him. To climb
certainly the expectations are. Out there you see mock drafts
with him being one of the, top picks if not

the top pick in. The draft but, you know all that,
being said how much of, THEIR success, i mean is
it ninety falls on?

HIS shoulders i THINK it's i think it's a whole lot,
of it especially when you start talking. TO coaches, i mean,
YOU know i heard Answers From gary riley about, you
know potentially getting multiple tight ends on the field because
there there's to be some versatility in that room without a.
Real alpha pretty hesitant on. On that in fact that,

you know the way they're talking about running back and
the way they're kind of, DOING that i think it's
going to be more, passing game especially. Early ON like,
i know they say they want to run The, ball
SWANNY but, I Mean anna reynal getting, twenty carries he
canna tell, us you, you Know getting davison in, twelve
carries he can tell.

going to be a pass, heavy offense particularly. Early on
while they let those running backs get their feet wet a,

responsible in sort of a breakdown situation of trying to

about number one overall. DRAFT stick i don't necessarily believe
either of those is going. To happen but that's the
type of expectation that is on. His shoulders and when
you come into a season with that on, Your shoulders

No no this the first game is gonna Be About kate

i think whoever wins the battle of those two quarterbacks

instead they got four guys back that they feel really
good about and still some experience on the bench. As, well.

lsu game the Thing that i'm most confident in as
Far as clemson having an advantage is you LOOK. At
lsu they LOST multiple, nfl guys including both, their tackles
and it's not that they don't have, any experience but
they have way way less experience Atturning. Than clemson and
when you when you boil down to like how much
experience into these players, have together it's. Almost none. By comparison,

SO yeah, i mean if you're taking an offensive line
with four, guys returning think about. The inverse you don't
have to think. That hard LOOK. At lsu that's a
heck of a tall task going Up against, clemson's front
which we expect to. BE improved, i mean and even.

Tj Parker, peter woods The demonte. K part, i mean

even care if those guys are like average, for them,
you know like if they they put together just a
normal performance of those four guys gonna be a, highly

because you've got guys not just, playing together but like

that we have not played the kind of defense necessary
to win a. NATIONAL championship i think we put a
roster together in, this offseason along with young players that
