Hive around ninety eight today. Good morning, Moe, winning up
for you.

Speaker 6 (01:56):
Since headline obviously the headline that rocks the world yesterday,
legendary rock singer Ozzy Osbourne has died. In a statement
to TMZ, his family said Ozzie died Tuesday, surrounded by love.
The cause of death is still unclear, but the Osbourne
said it is with more sadness than mere words can
convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy

(02:18):
Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family,
He was surrounded by love, and they asked that everyone
respect the family privacy.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
At the time.

Speaker 6 (02:26):
The statement was signed by Sharon Jack Kelly Amy and Louis.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
Ozzy Osborne was seventy six.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Everybody's blown away that, you know that final show happened
just in time.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
You know, that was Ozzie's love.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
It was playing in front of people, and the whole
time that he had been sick and down with everything,
he just NonStop talked about because he was on a
serious EXCEM satellite radio and he was always on and
he just said he wanted to play live. He wanted
to play live, and he wanted to send it off
one great, big show, and that's exactly what they did.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
They pulled it off.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
Oh, if you are celebrating Ozzie's life like we will
be today, we have an eleven CD set giveaway on
our Facebook page. Check out The Rod Ryan Show on
Facebook to enter. It's kind of a fun place that
people can like share memories.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Yep, they're talking about Ozzie. They're using the hashtag Ozzie
It's CDs. It's not lost on me.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
It looks cool.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Right.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
This is probably the last CD giveaway ever, which is sad,
But we have all these Ozzy CDs on Facebook right now,
so go check it out.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
Do we have an Epstein list?

Speaker 4 (03:33):
No?

Speaker 1 (03:33):
I don't.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
Top official with the Department of Justice is apparently working
to arrange a meeting with the just Lain Maxwell Lady,
the longtime associate of Jeffrey Epstein, who's in jail serving
a twenty year prison sentence after being convicted sex trafficking
charges back in twenty twenty one. The ladies just sitting
there in jail, and so now we're going to go
talk to her. According to the Deputy Attorney General, he's

(03:54):
communicated with her counsel. They want to determine whether she's
willing to speak.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
She doesn't have to.

Speaker 6 (04:00):
But there's a lot that she could tell us about
what the next step is, which a lot of people
are fascinated with, all right. According to a new poll
from you gov, the most favored city.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
In America is Nashville, Tennessee.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Have you been lots of times? Is it great?

Speaker 6 (04:20):
It's a great place. Yeah, my parents just moved here
from there. Okay, my brother lives there. It's a fun
place if you're into country music, if you're into any music.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
Really, so, this.

Speaker 6 (04:31):
Ranking looked at the fifty most populated cities in America
and asked people, what do you think of it?

Speaker 5 (04:36):
Even if you've never been there is it favored.

Speaker 6 (04:39):
So after Nashville, there was a tie between San Diego,
Colorado Springs, and Virginia Beach, So they all came in second.
If you're looking for somewhere in Texas, San Antonio came
in at number eight.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Houston is way down on the list. I'm just going
to tell you right now, it's very Yes, looking at
the data is difficult. I looked at it this morning.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
A lot of numbers.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
It's just people don't I've always said this, and I
love where I live. Now this is my adopt at home.
Houston has an identity crisis. The rest of the country
doesn't know about us, understand, they don't know, Like I
don't know Houston, I don't really know.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
So it just we didn't score well on this.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
And that's visit. Come say hey, Chamber.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Of Commerce or somebody needs to do something.

Speaker 5 (05:19):
No, we have a flag. How do you feel about
Margot Robbie Lover? How do you not?

Speaker 6 (05:24):
Yeah, she's perfect, She's done a lot of things. I mean,
she's Barbie. Where do you go from there? Well, she's
reportedly lined up to play another female cultural icon from
the fifties. Rumor has it she might star in Tim
Burton's remake of the nineteen fifties classic Attack of the
Fifty Foot Woman. Nice so that story, if you're unaware,

(05:46):
That story is about a wealthy, unstable heiress who grows
in size after an encounter with a giant alien and
then seeks revenge on her husband.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Obviously, it's a silly old movie, but it's probably more
famous for the movie post So than the movie itself.

Speaker 7 (06:01):
I do remember them.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Yeah, the movie Poster was very famous, and one of
the lit videos used used Pam Anderson in that role
and they kind of did that.

Speaker 6 (06:12):
You feel good about her playing that role? Yeah, she's
perfect for you do pretty much anything, all right. So
obviously all music news is about Ozzy this morning, but
I did see some news from our.

Speaker 5 (06:20):
Guys at Good Charlotte.

Speaker 6 (06:22):
The Bros released a new song last Friday, and today
we get to see the music video.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
I'm gonna go ahead and call it just.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
A classic Stepper is the song. The video has the
brothers playing maintenance managers in a motel and they're singing
doing you know, mundane tests, and the more they sing,
the more empowered they become. It's a good one. I
love a good music video. Those are Houston's headlines the.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Song that I Went Away. We didn't really beat up
Wizard too much about it.

Speaker 7 (06:45):
We all felt the actual song.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
Do you like it?

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (06:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (06:50):
This is this is oh the new one we don't
have yet.

(07:27):

Speaker 7 (07:29):
It's almost here.

Speaker 8 (07:30):
This is the final week. We have no football games
until February. That's amazing Hall of Fame game next week.
But that's what's going on in sports.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Here we go four hours of payn starts right now.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
If you want the first phone call, what do you
want to talk about? Anything goes for that first phone call.
Seven one, three five, The most interactive show on the radio.
It's here, It's on now.

Speaker 5 (07:51):
What is going on over there?

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Ninety four five The Buzz Good Morning rod Ryan' show.
Are you vacuuming?

Speaker 6 (07:57):
I was, yeah, field is granola all over the studio?

Speaker 7 (08:01):
Okay, you spilled right when we started.

Speaker 8 (08:03):
I was trying to set my little cup of girla
I have for this show. Okay, it fell and everywhere
a million pieces of granala.

Speaker 7 (08:11):
Okay, just picking up my hand.

Speaker 8 (08:12):
And then I was going in the kitchen to try
and get some stuff to like help me pick it up,
and I saw a shop that shop. Okay, So I'm
sorry that these are these are questions that I had.
We're playing Sublime Boom, the song is ending.

Speaker 5 (08:25):
I was aware at the time.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Okay, So I don't realize. I'm trying to get ready
for this first break. I'm trying to get ready on
the phone calls.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Every I got a lot going on.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
It's okay.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Everyone kind of does their own thing in here to
get ready for the break. There's about thirty seconds left
in the song. And then I realized that Alex is vacuuming.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
She's just getting a little done.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
And I try and leave this workplace better than I
found it, you know. And then you found a vacuum
wating around here.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
I know, I was shocked.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Things all right, you got everything cleaned up, thanks Greg.

Speaker 8 (08:57):
Done.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Go ahead, Sure, it's a little loud, God, please please
hang on. Just go ahead, let them let him finish up.
Go ahead, dude, go ahead and get what you need
to do. There we go. There's a piece right here.

(09:22):
All right, we're good. All right, we're good.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
I think that's pretty that's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
That's what he needed to finish up before the song.

Speaker 6 (09:30):
Yeah, yeah, that's stop back.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Welcome to this whole radio station. We're just cleaning things
up a little bit.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Good morning, everybody. Wild Card Wednesday. We are busy today.
We're insanely busy today. The first thing is Willie's Grill
and ice House. Please guys go and eat there today
so we can raise a lot of money. They've already
they said, Rod, we're gonna give you five grand, but
anything over that is yours as well. If you can,

(10:02):
if you can exceed that in sales today at the
nine locations, we're gonna get fifteen percent, but you have
to mention the Rod Ryan Show.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
So we're gonna talk about that today.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
The Sizzler is back, the Suburb Summer Sizzler. Thank you,
sell Federal Credit Union. Morton Ranch takes on San Leon
at eight twenty this morning. We're gonna play this game
all summer long. Your chance to win five thousand dollars,
and it's not too late for you to sign up.
Chile has selected a handful of suburbs, but man, there's

(10:33):
there's a ton of suburbs that are open that can
still play the game.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
All right. There is a there's an Ozzy Osbourne CD
giveaway on our Facebook page. I have the we have
these CDs and but okay, it makes sense. I don't know.
They just kind of came out of nowhere. It's eleven
CDs one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven.

(10:58):
It's eleven Ozzi CDs.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
And you get the great ones too, man, Diary, Bark
of the Moon, Ultimate Sin.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
You get all the greats. That's on our Facebook page
and I was thinking about it this morning. Mo, you've
been doing this a little bit. You probably came in
on the tail end of CD giveaways, though in my
career I've probably given away more CDs than I've given away.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Well that in concert tickets. Yeah, we're the two biggest
giveaways in my career. We haven't given I don't remember
the last time this show gave away a CD. But
it's like that meme. One day you put down your
kid and you never pick them up again. You don't
remember what day that is. Okay, one day you go
out riding bicycles with your friends and then you come
home and that's the last time you, guys ever went out.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
For a ride like that. One day.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
One day on this show, I gave away a CD
to something some band, and I didn't know it at
the time, but that.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
Was the last time.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
That was the last time we gave away a CD
on this show. I just don't know what it was.
Other John might write this down CD giveaway. I have
all these AZZ CDs. I put them on Facebook. Old
people are on Facebook. Old people like Ozzy. Old people
probably still have a CD player.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Laying around, or an old or an old car.

Speaker 5 (12:11):
Would you play a CD?

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Old? Would you? Would you be able to play a CD.

Speaker 5 (12:16):
I would not, you would I have a DVD player. Yeah,
you can do when the Infinity goes out.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Okay, so so that would work. I have I have
multiple CD players.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
So I've got an Ozzy CD giveaway on our Facebook page.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
So that's going on.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
So yeah, it's it's busy. It's just it's a real,
real busy day. But quickly a quick phone call.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
It's not time for the first phone call of the day.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Oh it's our old friend Johnny, the butcher. John. Ay,
what's up?

Speaker 2 (12:48):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (12:49):
Ron?

Speaker 1 (12:49):
This is the butcher over at Kroger. Oh? Is it
stud Mont? I never know there, you.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Know, I know, I don't know where that road changes.
Stude would and studio? Where does it change?

Speaker 1 (13:05):
I tell the students, Yeah, the students. Uh, what's going
on in your life? Johnny?

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (13:10):
First off, r I p Ozzie. Yeah.

Speaker 10 (13:13):
But but then I listened to Blizzard Ozzy yesterday, you know,
discuss Uh. But then this week, thirty three years ago,
I was in Vegas marrying my beautiful wife Karen Sue Harris,
and I just had to say that on.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
The air shout outsast way on our anniversary Friday.

Speaker 10 (13:32):
I can get up and play your podcast or your
you know, I could play it back to her and
she can hear me say, happy anniversary, Karen Harris.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
I love you so much, Karen.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Hello, Karen in the future, have a great anniversary in
the in the very near future, because he's going to
play this for her, so it'll be like, hey, happy anniversary.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
It's happening right now. We did this.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
We did this the other day. Way to go, Johnny.
Congratulations too. You did it in Vegas.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
It wasn't like one of those like little old chapels
with somebody on rollerblades, was it.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
No, it was actually the little Chapel of Flowers.

Speaker 10 (14:05):
We stayed at the EXCaliber. My brother paid for everything
because we were broke, and it was amazing.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
I love that story.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
You said, yes, please tell me after you got married
you went to that Renaissance show.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
We did not go to the I said.

Speaker 11 (14:24):
I was broke, my brother.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
That's awesome, all right, brother, Johnny, thank you dude. It's
Johnny the Butcher. Everybody quick break.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
When we come back at a rec check for you,
we'll find out which trending and we'll get set up for.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
The game host.

Speaker 11 (14:38):
And the Rod Ryan Morning Show.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
The buzz, Welcome back everybody. Rod Ryan's show on this
Willie's Wednesday. Yet Willy's Grill and Ice House. That's the
place to be later today. Nine Locations open eleven until ten.
They're giving us a five thousand donation. The thing here
is there's no cap, so what I'm shooting for is

(15:05):
over five k because if you go to Willie's you
mentioned rod Ryan's show, We're gonna get fifteen percent of
that purchase, all right, So I want to earn the
five thousand dollars with you guys.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Going there to eat, but then I want to exceed that.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
So nine Locations Chile has all this information on links
and guests, Alex, but you got trending over there.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Everything's Ozzy huh yeah.

Speaker 8 (15:28):
Like Ozzy Osbourne, Prince of Darkness, war pig, paranoid, every
possible black sat at their Ozzy Osbourne related anything and
is trending right now.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
I have a problem with this.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Every celebrity there, every celebrity that's ever met Ozzy Osbourne
is posting a picture of the time that they met him.
And it doesn't mean that you were best friends with him.
It just means that you had an encounter and it
gives you an opportunity to share what that encounter was. Like,
I know that there's some people in the radio industry
they'll bag on people. When somebody passes away, everyone goes
and runs and scurries for that photograph that you met

(16:00):
that person.

Speaker 7 (16:01):
And it's a.

Speaker 8 (16:02):
Unique photograph, and it's like, this is a picture of me,
not just a generic picture that I found on the internet.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
Right.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
And then here is what happened when I did meet
Ozzy Osbourne and it was probably two thousand and four.
I went backstage. I couldn't not I didn't even go
look for the picture. It was backstage at a show
in New Orleans and he got off of his exercise bike.
He was kind of warming up in the back right,

(16:28):
and he shove it's oh four. He shuffled over to
me and that little Ozzie shuffle oh.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
And he came up. He's like, what's your name? And
I said Rod. He's like, oh, like Rod Stewart. I go, yeah,
exactly like that, and.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
He what do you do?

Speaker 3 (16:42):
And I said, well, I'm on the radio here, and
he's like, it's nice to meet you. Everyone says the
same thing about Ozzie. He was really nice. I mean
this whole Prince of Darkness thing. He couldn't have been
the opposite. He couldn't have been more the opposite. He
was such a nice guy and everyone says the same
thing about him. He was nice, he was gracious with
his time. It was an honor to meet him. Yeah,
that was my experience.

Speaker 8 (17:03):
Have you talked to your mom yet about the Prince
of Darkness on the news, because I feel like she
would be very upset, Like, I feel like your parents generation.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Is like, no, Satan, he is talking about Satan on
the news.

Speaker 12 (17:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
No, Ozzie was a real sweet guy. Yeah, he was
a sweet man.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
Tyrone Matthew is trending.

Speaker 8 (17:19):
The former LSU Tiger Arizona Cardinal New Orleans Saint and
Houston Texan cornerback is retiring from the NFL after twelve seasons.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (17:28):
They were supposed to report.

Speaker 8 (17:29):
To camp today, so he was like, you know what,
maybe I'm not doing another training camp. Called it quits,
but it was a hell of a career for him.
And then Eric Menindez is trending. One of the Menindez
brothers's hospitalized with kidney stones while serving a prison sentence
for murdering his parents in nineteen eighty nine. We'll see
if that helps him get off. But that's what was
training at night by the vice Roland Gooding.

Speaker 13 (17:54):
Everybody, Adam the Top. Now I'm your friends out of
ben hit the head three days champions, woo you hear
that that's a carbon carbon dioxide, just escape of me
trying to get through these most real questions.

Speaker 1 (18:09):

Speaker 8 (18:11):

Speaker 14 (18:12):
Them, but you had to go, got.

Speaker 13 (18:13):

he's sneaky, He's.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
So unassuming, but he's he's like one of those quiet assassins. Well,
h Adam is not shy or quiet at all. I
don't know if it's gonna.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Help you, but you still got to just shout out

Speaker 1 (20:23):
They are difficult.

Speaker 11 (20:24):
They are definitely a little more difficult.

things where it would have been a natural place for
a swear word, right, and.

You when you Alex both think you heard it.

Speaker 5 (24:53):
Yes, we both looked at each other like oh.

We make you look smart.

Speaker 9 (25:55):
Everybody's the the day.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Ooh, got a big flashback coming up. I'm just gonna
leave it at that. Here's some new fun facts for
you today. In the nineteen thirties, sure, a long time ago,
but not that long for something like this.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
In the nineteen thirties, a brand of toilet paper called
Northern Bath Tissue.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
They used the marketing slogan one Splinter Free. At that time,
there was not always a guarantee with toilet paper splinters.
Oh boy, I'm glad they worked that out.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
I'm glad they worked that out.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
Modern technology is funny, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (26:48):
I'm guessing you never saw directed it. Mo, I'm guessing
you never saw a Saving Private Ryan?

Speaker 5 (26:53):
No, goly, what what made you think of that?

Speaker 1 (26:56):
The greatest World War Two movie of all time?

Speaker 5 (26:58):
I mean, you have a splinter in his Now.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
That was a little after that was the forties, so
they had that worked out. Now, the opening scene of
Saving Private Ryan, if you've either seen it or you
have it, it is just the craziest, Like first twenty
minutes of any movie. American troops are storming the beach
in Normandy. That scene, the opening scene, costs twelve million dollars.
That was about a little over one fifth of the

(27:23):
movie's entire budget.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
In the first twenty minutes is whoa all right?

Speaker 3 (27:31):
And then finally the baby Pebbles in the Flintstones.

Speaker 5 (27:40):
Yeah, Pebbles was.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
Originally going to be a boy. It was a big
deal that the Flintstones were having a kid, right. A
toy company told the creators of the show, They're like, listen,
baby girl dolls sell way better than baby boy dolls,
and they had marketing money. They knew they had marketing
dollars in their future, so they change Pebbles on the
Flintstones to a girl.

Speaker 5 (28:04):
Oh that's neat.

Speaker 9 (28:06):
Yep, HiT's the fuck back to the day. We make
you look smart. It's the fuck to the day.

Speaker 6 (28:15):
But you got to give away shine down ticket dance

rock singer Ozzy Osbourne has died. In a statement to TMZ,
the family said Ozzie died Tuesday, surrounded by love.

Still, but the Osbourne say it is with more sadness
than mere words can convey that we have to report
that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
He was with his family, He was surrounded by love.
They did ask for privacy and the statement was signed
by Sharon and the kids. Ozzie was seventy six. As

Speaker 6 (32:05):
It's turning out where people can share memories and also
check out and celebrate his life.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
I was talking about a friend of mine yesterday. It
was right when the news came out, and he's like, well,
what did Ozzy? You know, he asked me, because I'm
radio guy's going to know everything.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
What did he die of? I said everything? Yeah, everything.
This guy had it, like you know what I mean,
But he made it. Look how long AZZI made it
And just want to Grammy not that long ago for
that last album, you know, working with Mike.

Speaker 5 (32:33):
Wow, how he passed away?

Speaker 1 (32:34):
Sure?

Speaker 5 (32:35):
I think so.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Yeah, applications of Parkinson's the cause of death.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
Yeah, but I mean everything. Look at the life this
guy led, you know. But he had some h had
that ATV accident back when he was filming the osborns
Oh right, that was really bad for him. Then he
had that fall, He had metal rods in his back,
all kinds of stuff. Man, he lived, he did that
last show, but man, what a life.

Speaker 6 (32:56):
Wild news Today, after three years, Brian Koberger will face
his victims families today at his high profile sentencing hearing.
Sentencing is the first time the victims' families can speak
directly to their children's killer.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Oh boy, they're going to get.

Speaker 6 (33:14):
A chance to read victim impact statements and open court.
And I did see that one of the victim's parents
is not going to attend the Ethan chappins.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
But he also has a chance to speak and correct
They say, address the court.

Speaker 5 (33:27):
Yeah, and they say, you know he's not required to
do it.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
No, but he does have the opportunity. So everyone's wondering,
will he say something. It's rare that they do, but
occasionally they do. A punch at least, I agree.

Speaker 6 (33:39):
A judge is expected to order him to serve four
life sentences without parole for the stabbing of the four
University of Idaho students.

Speaker 5 (33:48):
Okay, imagine this with me.

Speaker 6 (33:50):
You're at the zoo with your family, just enjoying your day,
and you get caught in the middle of an escape drill. Oh, like,
an animal gets out and the zoo is having a drill.

Speaker 5 (34:03):
I've got to get this video posted. This happened in Thailand.

Speaker 6 (34:07):
A staff are dressed up and pretended to be the
escaped animal while staff is running around and doing what.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
They're supposed to do.

Speaker 6 (34:14):
If this actually happens now, Just to be clear, they're
in a costume. It looks like one of those blow
up ones that forces you to like waddle around, so
it's not realistic at all.

Speaker 7 (34:24):
Thank you Jesus, animal to.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Look like Modang Moodang.

Speaker 7 (34:30):
They get a lot of people in Africa every year.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
I didn't know you were doing this story. It's headlining
three Things you Must See Today.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
It's already up.

Speaker 4 (34:36):
Did you watch the video?

Speaker 1 (34:37):
This is awesome, it's historical.

Speaker 6 (34:40):
The character is like pretending to attack the zoo keepers.
The veterinarians are pretending to tranquilize, said Moodang.

Speaker 7 (34:48):
Yeah, that's what they in Cincinnati.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
So it's a mascot version of Moodang running around wild
and three.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
Things you Must See already got it?

Speaker 5 (34:56):
Okay, good, I'm glad that's prepared.

Speaker 6 (34:58):
But just imagine being there seeing this happen and you're like,
what the actual heck gets going on today? Also in court,
a doctor charged in connection with Matthew Perry's death is
expected to plead.

Speaker 5 (35:10):
Guilty federal court.

Speaker 6 (35:11):
The DOJ says the doc will plead guilty to four
counts of a distribution of ketamine. He could get forty
years in prison. He's one of two doctors that said
delivered the drugs to Matthew Perry's home at least seven times.
And we all remember the Friends star died from a
kedemine overdose in his home back in twenty twenty three.
All right, if Authie taught us anything it's that you

(35:33):
can go out on your own terms. See me, Wonder,
just checking. He's seventy five years old, and he says
he has no intention of hanging things up.

Speaker 5 (35:43):
He says, I'm.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
Still saying he's all got it.

Speaker 6 (35:45):
Yeah, for as long as you can breathe, for as
long as your heart beats, there's more for you to do.

Speaker 5 (35:50):
He said he loves playing music.

Speaker 6 (35:51):
That's his mantra, and he thinks he can do all
the stuff he wants to do. So he's not gonna stop.
He's going to keep putting his body through it.

Speaker 1 (35:58):
It's okay if you can still sing.

Speaker 5 (35:59):
Don't retire.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
Yeah, all these artists, I mean, I get it. Sometimes
I'm critical to some of these bands. Motley Cruz, some
of these bands. I don't want to name everybody. Stevie Wonder,
you're staying at the party a little too long. Stevie
sounds pretty good singing love good.

Speaker 6 (36:12):
As long as you got it, Just keep going, friend,
Those are Houston's Headlins.

I didn't even realize the words were coming out my
mouth earlier this morning when I said, I don't remember
the last time we gave away CDs. Yeah, but what
At one point on this radio show we had given
away a CD to a band, and that became the
last time we gave away a CD.

Speaker 5 (41:13):
It's crazy to think about because it used to it
all the time.

Speaker 6 (41:16):
All I remember winning CDs on the radio, right, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
So we're going back to the basics. I'm giving away
and I didn't know what to do. I'm like, okay,
you know, call her.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
Number ten, win you're Ozzie CDs and then it would
be on and off before you knew it. And Ozzie
deserves a little bit more than that. I think he does.
The guy, him and his bandmates invented heavy metal. They
deserve a little bit more time. I put him up
on Facebook. Facebook has thought him to be one of
the older social medias out there. Ozzy Osbourne fans can

(41:46):
tend to skew a little older. Anybody that has a
CD player probably skews a little older. You said you
wouldn't be able to play a CD in your house.

Speaker 6 (41:54):
I have a DVD player somewhere, Okay, so I think
you can play a CD in that.

Speaker 1 (42:00):
Over four hundred people have gone after these azzy CDs.

Speaker 5 (42:05):
They're really cool looking.

Speaker 1 (42:06):
The Prince of Darkness. I mean, I don't care if
you put them on your shelf.

Speaker 5 (42:10):
Right, That's what I'm saying, is.

Speaker 3 (42:11):
A piece of art. I don't care. I mean, I
hope you listen to these. I hope you have a
way of listening to them. But I mean, all the
greats are in here. Man, Diary, Diary, Bark at the Moon.
You're listening to right now, the Ultimate Sin, No rest
for the Wicked. Just say, Ozzie, no more tears. There's
Azzi live at Buddha com There's Osmosis.

Speaker 5 (42:32):
They feel good to hold a CD.

Speaker 1 (42:34):
Roight, Yeah, it's cool. I know it's cool. I have
several ways of playing CDs in my life, still chocker.

Speaker 6 (42:41):
I also think it's cool that everyone on Facebook has
kind of made it like, tell your Azzie stories, show
your Aussie picture.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
Not everybody, not everybody has an AZZI story, doesn't matter,
but I just said, comment below and make sure you
include hashtag azzie, and everyone's kind of playing along.

Speaker 3 (42:56):
And it's just it's giving people a place to, like
you said, to kind of share and calm and if
you did have a brush with him, if you did
even just go see him.

Speaker 1 (43:04):
Or I love the stories of my dad got me
listening to.

Speaker 5 (43:08):
Ozzy, yes, or this song that makes me remember this.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
That makes me so happy. So for something that I
didn't know what I was going to do with them,
I'm so happy we're doing it this way. It worked out.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
It's really fun for me to see you guys commenting
on Ozzy this morning, and he's getting what he deserves,
you know, just in our little window of the internet.

Speaker 1 (43:29):
So that's on Facebook right now.

Speaker 5 (43:31):
Check it out after rod Ryan Show.

Speaker 1 (43:32):
Yeah, and Chili will once he gets past the suburb
of Summer Sisslers today.

Speaker 3 (43:39):
I think he's going to be in a good mood
and then he will go in and he will pick somebody.
He will pick somebody, and we're not looking for him.
I don't know what he looks for and he's not
looking for the best story. If you just commented hashtag Ozzie,
you got as good a chance as the guy next
to you on Facebook.

Speaker 5 (43:53):
It's going to do it randomly and fairly.

Speaker 1 (43:55):
To win the CDs. But it's cool, man, We're giving
away CDs this morning, So I don't know.

Speaker 3 (43:59):
I think it's cool. That's on Facebook right now. Quick break,
let me come back on a rec check for you.
We'll find out what's trending. I'll have Mo give you
some of these falling in reverse tickets and then maybe
I'll see if Chili wants to talk to us and
see if we're you know, we're okay with the suburb
of Summer Sizzler, which is still a little over an
hour away.

Speaker 20 (44:18):
Houston's Rock, Houston's Alternative, and the Rod Ryan Morning Show.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
Come on, all right, welcome back everybody. Rod Ryan's Show
on this wild card Wednesday, More importantly, Willie's Wednesday Willie's
Grill and Ice House.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
If you need instructions, I'm asking you to go out
to eat at Willy's Grill and Ice House today.

Speaker 1 (44:39):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (44:40):
They open at eleven, They open at eleven, they close
at ten.

Speaker 1 (44:43):
There's nine locations.

Speaker 3 (44:45):
I mean, that's it. It's clutch though, to mention. When
the person taking your order, it's like, hey, I'm here
because of the rod Ryan show boom. That's how we
get flagged and we'll get fifteen percent of your ticket.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
Kay, whatever it is that you buy.

Speaker 8 (45:00):
Can I say like, also, I just I just got here,
but everybody else exactly we don't know, but they're all
also here.

Speaker 5 (45:06):
For everyone in the restaurant. You try it, spread the word.

Speaker 3 (45:08):
You could try it, but you would have to tell
the people at the table to say, hey, mention the
rod Ryan's right.

Speaker 7 (45:12):
They're all really shy and get back on me to
come up. And they are all for the Ryans.

Speaker 1 (45:17):
Yeah, for the kids. I try everything, try everything. Listen,
the guys that everybody at Willi's is so cool to
work with, they're going to be cool with all of this,
but they they've already committed to five grand I know
you're doing the trending segment right now.

Speaker 3 (45:29):
And I gotta say, it's been a long time since
our Facebook page trended, Alex, but this Ozzie giveaway, I'm
so happy we're doing it, and I'm just I'm really
enjoying all your comments and everybody leaving messages and talking
about what Ozzie meant to them. As is old things
Ozzie trending, but it's good to be that. It's good
to see that our Facebook page really a lot of activity.

(45:50):
It's over four hundred and seventy two of you and
counting are trying to get after those Ozzie CDs. We
found eleven Ozzie album to give away. They're in CD
format and uh, you know looks a little cooler taking
you know, taking a picture of m MP three is
not cool to me. But having the physical copies of

(46:12):
these albums, of the CDs, it's awesome, smelling, so it's trending.

Speaker 5 (46:15):
It's that's why they still give like gold records. They
don't do gold m P three's.

Speaker 3 (46:21):
Yeah, Like I in my hand, I have a stack
of CDs right now. It's awesome.

Speaker 1 (46:25):
So it feels like the old studio. So the Rob
Ryan Show Facebook page is trending only because of Ozzie
trending and everywhere everybody's comments, every celebrity that's ever come
in contact with him.

Speaker 3 (46:35):
What I really wanted to go see was what Zach
Wilde had to say. Zach was his longtime guitar player,
and uh, he worshiped Ozzy even when Ozzie didn't use
him on the last album. Zach Wilder was like, that's okay, Ozzy,
I work with him.

Speaker 7 (46:50):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (46:51):
It's like when when dad calls, or when he called
Sharon Mom. He goes when mom calls, they need me,
I'll be there.

Speaker 1 (46:56):
He never got his feelings hurt. It's never nothing. He
worshiped Ozzy and he got to be his guitar player
for such a long time and to see his words
and stuff was pretty heartfelt. So, I mean, outside of Ozzy,
is anything else really trending?

Speaker 5 (47:10):
Wildcard Wednesday is trending?

Speaker 2 (47:11):
Okay?

Speaker 8 (47:11):
Yanna Roney was submitted to us by listener Heath and
I think you're gonna like which to see at the
world's famous Rod Ryan Show page at the buzz Like
I'm still go from our Facebook page to our blog
page and you'll be a very happy boy or girl. Today,
Lance mccallers is trending. It is that time of you
where the astros places the picture on IL and he

(47:32):
is this time going on the fifteen day injured list
because he has a blister on his right finger. I
feel like a blister on your pitching finger or on
your finger as a pitcher is just like turf toe
where it sounds like a bitch injury. But if you're
trying to throw a ball as best as you can
and you have a blister, it makes it impossible. So
give some leway. But Lancet to caller is fifteen day

(47:53):
IL and that's what's training on nine before the buzz.

Speaker 3 (47:56):
All right, coming up? I want to check him with
chilly maybe sure, Oh you're the new one.

Speaker 5 (48:02):
May maybe I walk in there and just like pat
him on the back first.

Speaker 3 (48:05):
Hey, can you maybe ask him if he wants to
fill us in on what's happening with the.

Speaker 5 (48:08):
Sizzler gentle one, Okay, I'm gonna do that.

Speaker 1 (48:10):
Okay, so we'll see how he's doing.

Speaker 3 (48:11):
It's gotta handle kid gloves, kid gloz, I got this, okay,
like oven mits.

Speaker 5 (48:16):
Fair tequila and snacks, I got this.

Speaker 3 (48:19):
The steam off of his head is trending. Okay, uh,
you have some tickets to give away.

Speaker 4 (48:23):
I do.

Speaker 6 (48:24):
Falling in Reverse is going to be here August fourteenth
from the Woodlands, and we have your chance for tickets
if your collar ten right now seven one three two
one two five nine four five.

Speaker 3 (48:34):
Okay, and then an hour from now we're supposed to
be playing the suburb of Summer Sissler.

Speaker 1 (48:41):
He couldn't get a hold of somebody'll first, that is
what happened. I'm gonna try not to laugh now. I'm
try to laugh this live ready, get him off, he's
got This is a guy that's prepared, He's got backups,
he's got things ready to go.

Speaker 3 (48:53):
We'll check in with all things in Chili's world coming up.
But good luck almost Falling in Reverse tickets right now?
It's three Beautiful Disaster.

Speaker 1 (49:01):
What does that some up to show on the bus
ninety four or five the buzz Beautiful Disaster.

Speaker 3 (49:08):
Three eleven rot Ryan's show on this Willie's Grill and
Ice House Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (49:16):
I can't wait. I can't wait.

Speaker 3 (49:18):
I just have my seven o'clock snack like that would
like get me not thinking about it, and I can't
stop thinking about dinner.

Speaker 5 (49:23):
It's because of the pictures on the menu.

Speaker 1 (49:25):
Yeah, my kids excited. My kids excited to go eat today.
It's awesome. I can't wait. We Just the thing is,
I don't go out to eat as much as you guys.

Speaker 2 (49:35):
Yeah, and that's on me.

Speaker 1 (49:37):
It's on me. But it's a big deal when I
go on to eat, like I'm.

Speaker 8 (49:41):
Sell these Wednesdays, like with the food one specifically, like,
oh Whateburger Wednesday.

Speaker 5 (49:45):
Guess what we got for dinner?

Speaker 7 (49:47):
Yeah, Like I love when I don't have to think
about it at all.

Speaker 1 (49:50):
I mean, I'm as excited as if I was going
to Papa Steakhouse. I mean, I'm as excited. I cannot wait.

Speaker 3 (49:57):
Willies Wednesday. Please, there's nine locations. They're open at eleven today.
Of course, I'm going to be beating up for pictures. Man,
if you go to Willie, snap a photograph of you
and the family at the table or whatever, you're eating
your shrimp whatever. I want to see some pictures too, man,
And we'll all take pictures because we're all planning on going. Yes,
Mo's giving away a great ticket right now, and then

(50:19):
I want to see how it went with chili Good
morning rod Ryan's Show.

Speaker 1 (50:26):
Hi, who's this? This is John John? Your caller number ten. John, Well,
wait a minute. If you got through, that means you
already talked to Chili.

Speaker 5 (50:37):
Hey, yeah you did. How did How did he seem
like he was in a good movie?

Speaker 3 (50:42):
The person that originally answered the phone before I went
to you? How did that person sound?

Speaker 2 (50:48):
He sound it cool?

Speaker 1 (50:49):
He did? Did he sound upset in any way?

Speaker 5 (50:54):
Or did he sound man?

Speaker 12 (50:56):
No?

Speaker 5 (50:58):
Okay, that's great news, John.

Speaker 1 (51:00):
Okay, I need to know what I'm getting myself into here.
If I bring him on the air.

Speaker 5 (51:04):
John is going to falling in reverse?

Speaker 11 (51:05):
Where to go?

Speaker 5 (51:06):
Thank you for the report.

Speaker 6 (51:07):
God is a Weapon Tour August fourteenth, Woodlands, John wage
War is going to be their Tech nine Sleep Theory.
Tickets are on sale now ticketmaster dot com. But you
will be there, John, right, No, thank you? Thank you
have no idea how much you he hoped.

Speaker 3 (51:22):
Yeah, so Chili kind of types up. Here's what we're
doing when and you know, hey, Adam is going to
be on at six twenty. He's going for win number
four fresh out of bed. You know, he keeps track
of that stuff and he gives us the rundown sheet,
and then I kind of transferred onto another piece of
paper and put my notes down and everything it says

(51:44):
here in the suburb of Summer Sizzler. It was going
to be Morton Ranch versus San Leon. Chili walked in here,
didn't say a whole lot, He just said, this is
the new sheet for today. You'll notice a change. San
Leon is no longer You're playing in the suburb of
Summer Sisler.

Speaker 1 (52:03):
I didn't ask.

Speaker 5 (52:04):
Why I didn't? Is everything okay?

Speaker 3 (52:08):
All I know is Larry from Morton Ranch must have
already checked in and said he's ready to go. And
then now we have Marissa from Channel View. Yeah, playing
in the suburb of Summer Sistler. We haven't even played
the first damn game yet.

Speaker 5 (52:25):
Not off to a great start.

Speaker 1 (52:27):
Charlie so.

Speaker 18 (52:30):
Bertie, Oh hi friend, how you doing.

Speaker 1 (52:34):
I'm great, I'm great. Are we gonna be good today?

Speaker 2 (52:38):
So far as looking like we are?

Speaker 11 (52:40):
All right?

Speaker 3 (52:46):
Okay, you can tell me as little or as much
as you want. Do We just want to move forward
and just say, hey, Marissa, you're awesome.

Speaker 1 (52:54):
Channel View. You're playing today?

Speaker 4 (52:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 18 (52:55):
No, there's not much to say other than I make
contact with the first person from sant Leon, which was Terra,
and we had agreed that today she would play. So
before I left yesterday, I called her. I went straight
to voicemail. So I left her a message and I
told her, like, you know, shoot me an email. Let

(53:15):
me know that you got this message and you're cool
to play. No email. So today I called her at
six o'clock in the morning, I went straight to voicemail,
called her again, went to voicemail, and I left her
message to call me back, you know, and I haven't
heard from her. So, you know what, first of all,
the most important thing is hopefully she's okay. Yes, that's

(53:36):
all that we really care about, you know, That's all
we care about right now. And then I learned from
you Rod always prepare for the worst, so I just
started panicking. Right now would have been a good time
for a bottle of tequila. So what I did is

(53:58):
I just started calling and I had to people already
lined up for a couple of games coming up, so
I just happened to move one one day.

Speaker 2 (54:07):
I just kind of moved it.

Speaker 18 (54:08):
Up a little bit from you know, from shout out
to Marissa, you know, for being able to step up
and uh, she was actually saying that today actually works
better for her. Yeah, yeah, because she starts school back
pretty soon.

Speaker 2 (54:24):
You know, she's a teacher, I think.

Speaker 18 (54:26):
So she was like, man, I've been practicing and everything,
so it's better today than you know, next week when
I was first play.

Speaker 2 (54:32):
So everything's working out grade, you know, tell you that.
We hope you're okay. You know, we're still if you
can get a hold of me, you know, we can
schedule in for a couple of other days, you know,
or something like that.

Speaker 1 (54:44):
But that's the nicest thing I've heard you say all
the time.

Speaker 18 (54:48):
I learned one thing listening to Nicky six Life is beautiful,
which I was.

Speaker 1 (54:52):
Gemming it for a long long time for.

Speaker 2 (54:55):
The past hour. We get through my through my day.

Speaker 1 (55:00):
Thank you, Chilling suburb Summer Sizzler.

Speaker 15 (55:02):
Listen.

Speaker 3 (55:02):
We find a way to make these things happen. Okay,
there is it's painful at times, I know for you guys.
There's nothing pre recorded here, you.

Speaker 1 (55:12):
Know, I mean, where's the vacuum.

Speaker 5 (55:14):
It's just here.

Speaker 3 (55:15):
It is, this is us, this is how we move
things around. It's a live radio show, and it's why
I love what we do. So it's going to be
Morton Ranch taking on Channel View at A twenty the
first matchup of the Suburb Summer Sissler. It's all brought
to us by Shell Federal Credit Union. And you know
what the first one little rocky, but listen, that means
it's gonna be a great game today, so do not

(55:35):
miss out on it. And then here's your reminder if
you haven't signed up yet, you know the winner of
this whole damn thing, because we're playing for the rest
of the summer at A twenty. The winner gets five
thousand dollars cash from Shell Federal Credit Union.

Speaker 1 (55:47):
You can sign up online.

Speaker 11 (55:49):
Let's take a moment to jump in the pool.

Speaker 1 (55:58):
Ryan Show on ninety four to five bus ninety four
or five the buzz that's papaoa chen even if it
kills me.

Speaker 3 (56:06):
Hey, pretty good response. Yesterday I played you a little
bit of that even if it kills me reimagined Mo
liked it.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
I played.

Speaker 3 (56:14):
I played a little bit of it on the air.
I sent it over to the radio Wizard. I'm not
sure he's aware of it. He didn't comment at all
on it. He was busy yesterday working on a bunch
of other things. I did send it over to him.
I said, well, you know, Alex said, people on this
show in the morning, they want the rock version. They
want to rock, they want to wake up in the morning.

(56:34):
I tend to agree with him on that. But there
is a reimagined version of that song, and I toyed
with it a little bit on the air yesterday and
it's good. I heard them playing it in Buffalo on
the air and I was like, wow, what is this version?
And you asked why would they do that? And it's like, well,
just soften it up a little bit and maybe get
some more radio stations involved in playing.

Speaker 4 (56:53):
You know.

Speaker 1 (56:53):
Yeah, over five hundred and fifty of you trying to
get after those Ozzy CDs.

Speaker 3 (56:58):
I'm billing it as possible the last CD giveaway ever
on the radio. I ever forget it though, Yeah, the
last CD giveaway ever in the history of the Rod
Ryan Show.

Speaker 1 (57:10):
This might be it.

Speaker 3 (57:12):
This might be if I got eleven Ozzy CDs that
are up for grabs on our Facebook page right now,
if you haven't checked that out.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
Yet, I do have it pinned to the top.

Speaker 3 (57:21):
And then all the information about Willy's It's Willy's Grill
and ice House Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (57:26):
The thing with Chili went way better. I don't know
what you said to him, but thank you. He I
thought it was going to be brutal, and he's got
this thing under control because he planned ahead.

Speaker 3 (57:35):
We are set and ready to rock the first Suburb
Summer Sizzler. Make sure you're here and play along with
us at a twenty.

Speaker 1 (57:49):
Shared Leto's thirty Seconds to Mars and to Kill Bury
Me Rod Ryan Show on This Willie's Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (57:57):
Set percent chance of rain sunny highs of around ninety eight.
Suburb Summer Sizzler. I mean, behind the scenes.

Speaker 1 (58:05):
A little crazy, but I'm sure it's going to be great.
We got Morton Ranch taking on Channel View. Am I
right on that? Yep? Okayil Yeah, that's the matchup today,
the first two suburbs going to battle it out at
a twenty to try to win that five thousand dollars
prize from Shell Federal Credit Unions.

Speaker 3 (58:23):
The first day of the Brackets, we're playing the rest
of the summer. Good morning, Moe, what you got for
a Houston's headlines?

Speaker 6 (58:29):
Good morning, It's the headline that rocked the world yesterday.
A legendary rock singer Ozzy Osbourne has died. In a
statement to TMZ, the Osborne family said Ozzie died Tuesday,
surrounded by love. The cause of death is unclear, but
the Osbourne's did say it is with more sadness than
mere words can convey that we have to report that
our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He

(58:52):
was with his family, He was surrounded by love. They
asked for privacy and signed the letter. Ozzy Osbourne was
seventy six. In an effort to celebrate Ozzy's life, Rod
found eleven CDs that we are giving away on our
Facebook page.

Speaker 1 (59:10):
Yeah, eleven Ozzy Osbourne CDs man all the greats. This
is all representing his solo career. There's about six hundred
of you trying to get after them.

Speaker 5 (59:18):
It's a pretty cool tribute on our Facebook page.

Speaker 3 (59:20):
Six hundred and forty two people just talking about Ozzy.
That alone makes me happy. That alone makes me feel
that we're doing the right thing here.

Speaker 6 (59:27):
Check out at the Rod Ryan Show on Facebook for
your trans to inner. Earlier, I asked do we have
an Epstein list? And I got one in my email inbox.

Speaker 4 (59:36):
Rod.

Speaker 5 (59:40):
There's not officially one, but there is more going on story.

Speaker 1 (59:46):
It's funny how like the government says they don't have it,
but listener, Dave sent one and he said, here's the list.

Speaker 5 (59:51):
Why do you say you don't have it?

Speaker 1 (59:53):
Here it quit saying you don't have it. It's Dave
sent it to us.

Speaker 6 (59:57):
Talking about DA today, a top official with the Department
of Justice. So they're working to arrange a meeting with
Giselaine Maxwell. She's the longtime co conspirator associate, if you will,
of Jeffrey Epstein, who's in jail serving a twenty year
prison sentence after being convicted on sex trafficking back in
twenty twenty one. They're communicating to determine whether she'd be

(01:00:19):
willing to speak with prosecutors.

Speaker 5 (01:00:21):
From the department to get a little more information and clarity.

Speaker 3 (01:00:25):
So I don't follow this as closely as you probably
Alice would answer this. Would they shave off some years
of her sentence if she was, why would I know
that cooperating?

Speaker 1 (01:00:35):
I don't know. You seem like an Epstein guy.

Speaker 6 (01:00:38):
Critics saying it is a move and negotiating her freedom.

Speaker 1 (01:00:43):
Okay, so they would maybe cut a deal.

Speaker 6 (01:00:45):
With her if to get no list, then why she
and jail.

Speaker 1 (01:00:49):
But then you to mind. Dave sent us a list,
so we have a list. Thanks.

Speaker 5 (01:00:55):
Thank you Dave for everything. Email us anytime.

Speaker 6 (01:00:59):
According to a pole from a you Gov, the most
favorite city in America is Nashville, Tennessee. They looked at
the fifty most populated cities in America and they ask people,
when you see the name of the city, do you
favor that location. After Nashville, there's a tie with San Diego,

(01:01:19):
Colorado Springs, and Virginia Beach. I'm looking through the list
for anywhere in Texas. The first Texas city comes in
at number eight and it is San Antonio.

Speaker 1 (01:01:29):
Houston's way down on the list. You got to keep looking,
You got to keep scrolling.

Speaker 5 (01:01:33):
It is in the top fifty.

Speaker 3 (01:01:34):
Whatever matrix they use and whatever they use algorithm to
figure out what people feel about Houston.

Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
I think the rest of the country doesn't really know
how special it is here.

Speaker 6 (01:01:44):
Even if you don't visit, you were allowed to vote.
So it's just like what you think about when you
see the name Houston.

Speaker 3 (01:01:49):
But when you ask people, give me the top ten
cities in America that you'd like to go, take a
vacation in Houston, doesn't come up on that list.

Speaker 5 (01:01:57):
You know, when we work on this, we do.

Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
I don't know what do we do?

Speaker 5 (01:02:10):
How do you feel about Margot Robbie perfection dus.

Speaker 6 (01:02:13):
She's already played the woman Barbie, and now she's reportedly
lined up to play another female cultural icon from the fifties,
because the rumor is she might star in Tim Burton's
remake of the fifties classic Attack on the Fifties Woman.

Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
Do you are you familiar with that nover?

Speaker 19 (01:02:31):
No?

Speaker 5 (01:02:32):
I looked it up.

Speaker 2 (01:02:33):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:02:34):
So if this story is weird, if I say to
you Godzilla walking down downtown Tokyo and just taking out
buildings and just being huge.

Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
Yes I know what that is.

Speaker 1 (01:02:43):
Okay. So a hot chick doing the same thing, wollowing
this movie, walking through a city and just stepping on
people in cars and buildings, that's kind of what it is.

Speaker 6 (01:02:52):
She was a wealthy, unstable heiress who was attacked by
an alien.

Speaker 5 (01:03:00):
That's a movie.

Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
Yeah, checked out. It's a silly, silly movie.

Speaker 5 (01:03:02):
Marcot Robbie can do anything, Go girl. Obviously.

Speaker 6 (01:03:06):
All music news is Ozzy this morning, But I did
see news from Good Charlotte. The Bros just released a
new song last Friday called Stepper, and today we see
the music video for that song. In the video, the
Bros play maintenance managers at a motel and they're singing
while they're doing you know, mundane tasks around the hotel,
and the more they sing, the more.

Speaker 5 (01:03:25):
Empowered they become. It looks like a classic from the guys.
And I like the song still.

Speaker 3 (01:03:30):
So we do have an Ozzy blog page a tribute.
We got all this stuff going on on Facebook that
there is a music blog page.

Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
Know what I did find? What do you remember when
Carrie Underwood did Mama, I'm Coming Home, Oh Gosh, and
she got permission from Sharon.

Speaker 7 (01:03:43):
Right to do it.

Speaker 1 (01:03:45):

I saw another celebrity comment about it.

Speaker 1 (01:07:09):
Okay, now listen, she's got to deal with the Doja
cats and everything else, all these young upcomers. You know,
this is Jlo he's in her fifties. She's gotta like,

simulating sex on stage. Nothing new, okay, but it's just

(01:07:30):
she's wilding on stage and it looks like a p
Diddy freak off. Everyone's clothed. But I mean it's just
one dude after another after another doing things with j
Loo on stage.

Speaker 1 (01:07:59):
To I guess, all right, you know, she ain't slowing down.
That's the thing for her. So if you haven't. She
got new music out and it seems like it's a
dig at ben Affleck.

Speaker 5 (01:08:09):
But oh now that I can subscribe, this is on stage.

Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
It's all simulated, but it's wild. I mean it's wild.

everyone's talking about it online still, and I think for
the rest of the week, Ozzy is going to be trending.

Speaker 8 (01:10:27):
Yeah, and then so is au Se because people have
mispronounced and misspelled his name.

Speaker 7 (01:10:32):

Speaker 1 (01:12:15):
J Lo has a birthday this week. She's fifty six.
Fifty six. I'm telling you, thank you for that update.

Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
She looks amazing, yes, rocket, but boy, it's it's exhausting
thinking how she's got a it's exhausting how thirsty she
is to be on the internet all the time. I'm
glad about it. I'm happy, all right, Hey, Larry, you
understand how to play the game.

Speaker 1 (01:12:36):
Here.

Speaker 3 (01:12:36):
We're gonna play you a song, a very popular song
here on ninety four to five to buzz. You're gonna
shout out your name when you think you know the
band and song title. Okay, it's single elimination.

Speaker 1 (01:12:50):

way to go, man, thank you so much. Chili gave
you the call this morning. He said, I'm putting you in.

Yep, yep, exactly.

Speaker 6 (01:13:15):

So it's a good all right, listen, same rules for you.
I just told Larry, I'm going to play a song.
This is how the Sizzler works because Moe hasn't heard
this yet ever. So we're gonna play a song.

Speaker 1 (01:13:30):
It's a song.

Speaker 3 (01:13:31):
It's a very popular song here, and you need to
tell me the name of the band and the name
of the song. You shout out your name, I stopped
the music, wait for me to call on you. If
you don't get both correct, you lose the other person
advances for doing nothing.

Speaker 1 (01:13:49):
We had somebody make it through.

Speaker 3 (01:13:50):
We had somebody make it through two rounds of the
brackets without saying a word.

Speaker 7 (01:13:55):
Really, they did not win the whole thing though. To
make sure at the time, Man, eventually you're.

Speaker 1 (01:14:03):
Not gonna win five thousand dollars by not talking. All right, Alex.
The song is in. Yes, here we go, Marissa, are
you ready?

Speaker 18 (01:14:18):

to play. Shout out your name. I'll stop it. I'll
call on you and do what you do. Here we go.
Good luck to both of you. Marsa Marissa band.

Speaker 14 (01:14:44):
It's Alison Change and the song is Man in the Box.

Speaker 21 (01:14:49):
No, we needed you the Daylight.

Speaker 1 (01:15:08):
At the wire. She got the information out there at
the what Larry, Yeah, I knew if Eliphant chains I
forgot the title.

Speaker 5 (01:15:16):
You would have lost you.

Speaker 7 (01:15:17):
So you get off on an end.

Speaker 3 (01:15:25):
Marissa comes in, she pinch hits, she comes off the bench,
and she kicks a little ass.

Speaker 1 (01:15:32):
Larry, our rest, Larry.

Speaker 3 (01:15:36):
I know some people at Orchard dot Com put a
sign in front of your house. Okay, you are out
of Morton Ranch.

Speaker 1 (01:15:43):
They want you out. That's it.

Speaker 3 (01:15:45):
Okay, Marissa, you have advanced in the tournament. You are
going on to the next bracket. And you did it
right too, because you knew the song?

Speaker 1 (01:15:54):
Did you practice?

Speaker 11 (01:15:57):
Actually?

Speaker 14 (01:15:57):
Yeah, So as soon as I found out all gonna
be on it, I started using y'alls recently played page
on y'all's website, and I would look at the song
and sing the song or listen to the radio and
try to name it before and then I would and
then I would.

Speaker 4 (01:16:11):
Confirm it on the website.

Speaker 14 (01:16:12):
And I've been on YouTube.

Speaker 5 (01:16:14):
Yeah I can try.

Speaker 14 (01:16:15):
And I'm a teacher.

Speaker 3 (01:16:19):
And what Marissa has just done, she's she's just done
a Ted talk on the suburb Summer Sissler.

Speaker 1 (01:16:25):
That's how you do it. Okay, what do think you
just gonna come in here and just be awesome on
your own with no tune up? Oh no, absolutely, practice,
absolutely practical. This is so great, Marissa, you are advancing.

Speaker 3 (01:16:39):
You got a chance at five thousand dollars from Shell
Federal Credit Union, the pride of Channel View Texas.

Speaker 3 (01:17:07):
Morton Ranch Larry's got a sign in front of his house.
He's got to get out of Morton Ranch now, he said,
he goes and I feel the frustration and you can't listen.

Speaker 1 (01:17:18):
I got people saying, dude, that was easy, that was easy.

Speaker 4 (01:17:21):
It's pressure.

Speaker 1 (01:17:22):
It's it's easy when you're not on the air, on
the they're listening on the phone and all of that stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:17:29):
I know it sounds easy when you're just sitting back
and you're driving and you're listening. Then then come off
the sidelines and play. I'm going to say that, come
on and play. The water's great, Come on in man,
play with us all summer long. The Suburb Summer Sizzler
brought to us by Shelf Federal Credit Union, six thousand
dollars in total given away.

Speaker 1 (01:17:46):
Even Moa was asking me, like, where are these brackets. Well,
Chili has them.

Speaker 3 (01:17:48):

the first game. But you know, Alix and I have
been doing this for a couple of years now. We
looked at each other like, oh my god, somebody got
the first one.

Speaker 1 (01:18:08):
That's good.

Speaker 7 (01:18:09):
It was something that happens.

Speaker 5 (01:18:10):
Stop.

Speaker 1 (01:18:11):
It sounded flawless because something already happened beforehand, and we
already took care of all that. We already wrinkled. We
already wrinkled out the shirt. You know what I mean.
Our outfit was ready to go chilly. Great job.

Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
I'm being prepared and ready to way to handle the
adversity this morning. Uh, do you have it in front
of you because we're playing at AH twenty again tomorrow?

Speaker 1 (01:18:29):
Do you have the suburbs? Yes, you probably had to
move some things around.

Speaker 18 (01:18:33):

Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
Leake City Splendora, and then you have Friday's matchup.

CD on the radio.

you know, one day you put your kid down and
then that's the last time you ever picked your kid up.

Speaker 6 (01:20:30):
Are they show how you're feeling today about these CDs?

Speaker 1 (01:20:37):
Yeah, they show a bunch of kids.

Speaker 3 (01:20:38):
There's like an old retro you know, picture of like
a bunch of kids riding around on a bicycle in
the eighties or something, and they say, one day you
went out with your kids or with your buddies on
your bicycles, and that's the last time you guys ever
all rode together.

Speaker 1 (01:20:50):
You didn't know it.

Speaker 2 (01:20:51):
You didn't know it.

I don't know that.

Speaker 3 (01:21:07):
You locked into a bunch of kid birthday parties. God,
I had to go to one already every weekend.

Speaker 5 (01:21:13):
One last week exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:21:14):
I got dragged one. Yeah, you hated it. One year
old invited myself that So, so this writer says that
she maybe cracked the code here and she stumbled on
this by accident.

Speaker 3 (01:21:34):
She she needed a last second gift for her friend's
son's birthday. You know, we all go Amazon Prime, type
in you know, eight year old boy, and then click
on something that's about twenty twenty five bucks.

Speaker 1 (01:21:47):
Right right, Maybe I just do that?

Speaker 2 (01:21:50):
Maybe?

Speaker 1 (01:21:50):
Okay, So she just it's last minute. She forgot. Oh no,
what am I going to do?

Speaker 3 (01:21:58):
So she needs a last second gift for her friend
son's birthday. Doesn't go out and pick something out, doesn't
have time to even run the targa. Okay, she grabbed
a KitKat, wrapped it around a twenty dollars and wrapped
a twenty dollar bill around it. Okay, She's worried. She's like,
I gotta give this kid something. It's my friend's kid.
Blah blah blah. She's like, oh, he's gonna think it's dumb.

(01:22:19):
He's gonna be boring compared to all the real gifts
that he got. He lost his mind.

Speaker 1 (01:22:25):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 3 (01:22:26):
The kid screams out money and candy. The kid's parents
texted later and said, you won. That's his favorite gift
of the day. They just got through opening everything because
kids don't open it now, like in front of everyone,
or maybe they open them as they get them, but
there's no like sit around and watch somebody opening gifts anymore,
which is nice.

Speaker 1 (01:22:46):
The parents said, listen, we really appreciated it, but you won.
You won.

Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
This was his favorite thing that he got cracking the code.
The perfect gift for a kid is twenty bucks in
a candy bar.

Speaker 1 (01:22:58):
How do you feel about that?

Speaker 5 (01:23:00):
Please don't get my kids candy?

Speaker 1 (01:23:02):
Yeah that yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, it's weird.

Speaker 5 (01:23:06):
They don't understand money yet. But you said he was
what like eight.

Speaker 1 (01:23:12):
Looking for the age of the kid, I thought that
I read around eight years old.

Speaker 6 (01:23:17):
So they like see money that they don't have any
other way to get. It's like maybe doing their chores,
but like they're not seeing actual money, so they think
they're rare.

Speaker 3 (01:23:25):
Don't you feel most people want no thought, zero effort,
and everything in their lives.

Speaker 5 (01:23:29):
Now is this changing how you're gonna gift give? She
may she may have cracked the code. She may have
cracked saying give me.

Speaker 1 (01:23:35):
Cash, but you're telling me to be worried about giving
a kid.

Speaker 5 (01:23:38):
Don't give my kid candy.

Speaker 1 (01:23:39):
Maybe other kids you do, not.

Speaker 7 (01:23:42):
Say they hit me up.

Speaker 5 (01:23:43):
Next time you've seen red Die forty all of it.

Speaker 1 (01:23:47):
Briggs, I gotta Hershey bar for you. Don't worry. Uncle
Ron will take care of you.

Speaker 7 (01:23:51):
Rock and Alternative very used to The rod Ryan.

Speaker 4 (01:23:54):

because fifteen percent of all sales that mentioned rod Ryan's

on at five thousand dollars that they're giving us.

Speaker 1 (01:25:01):

Speaker 3 (01:25:05):
So it's important that you mentioned you're here because of
the rod Ryan Show and then your total bill fifteen
percent will go towards purchasing.

Speaker 1 (01:25:12):
Backpacks full of school supplies. All right, good morning, mo morning.

Speaker 3 (01:25:16):
One final time Houston's headlines. Please, we're continuing to talk
about the Prince of Darkness.

Speaker 6 (01:25:20):
Obviously it's the headline and that has rocked the world.
A legendary rock singer, Ozzy Osborne has died. In a
statement to TMZ, the Osborne family says Ozzie died Tuesday,
surrounded by love. The cause of death is unclear, but
the Osbourne said is with more sadness than mere words
can convey that we have to report that our beloved
Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with

(01:25:41):
his family, He was surrounded by love, and they asked
for respect and privacy at this time, Ozzy Osbourne was
seventy six. We do want to give you a chance
to celebrate Ozzie's life with us. We have an eleven
CD set giveaway up on our Facebook plage.

Speaker 1 (01:25:56):
It's so cool.

Speaker 6 (01:25:57):
It has turned into an awesome tribute, share memories and
that's how you enter. Just use the hashtag check out
at the Rod Ryan Show on Facebook to enter.

Speaker 3 (01:26:07):
Yeah, and you know a lot of people do have
stories of going to see Ozzy or you know, my
parents got me into listening to Ozzie and they talk
about specific years in honor of the Prince of Darkness.
We have this CD giveaway. Eight hundred and seventy eight
people have entered. That's so cool entered to win this.

Speaker 1 (01:26:25):
So I'm so glad that we came across these CDs.
It's great.

Speaker 5 (01:26:28):
Let's talk about Brian Koberger.

Speaker 6 (01:26:31):
He's going to be face to face with the victims
families today at his high profile sentencing hearing. Sentencing will
be the first time the victims' families can speak directly
to their children's killer. We'll get the chance to read
victim impact statements in open court. Even though the victims
of Ethan Chappin have decided they don't want to go.

Speaker 5 (01:26:51):
They're not going to attend. After the victim impact statements.

Speaker 6 (01:26:54):
Coburger will have the opportunity to address the court, even
though he's not required to do so. A judge is
then expected to order him to serve four life sentences
without parole for the stabbing desks of the four University
of Idaho students nearly three years ago. All right, imagine
with me. You're at the zoo with your family. You're
just walking around and you notice there's an escape drill

(01:27:17):
going on.

Speaker 1 (01:27:19):
H oh, what's going on at the zoo?

Speaker 5 (01:27:21):
Oh? No, we posted the video right of this.

Speaker 1 (01:27:24):
Yeah, things good. What is the what's the what's the drill?
What's the drill?

Speaker 5 (01:27:29):
It happened in Thailand.

Speaker 6 (01:27:30):
It's a staffer at the zoo dressed up pretending to
be an escaped animal while the staff go through the
protocol what they're supposed to do to round this animal up.

Speaker 3 (01:27:41):
But it's not just any animal, okay. So it's one
of those like sumo blow up suits.

Speaker 5 (01:27:45):
Yeah, that's where the guy inside has to waddle.

Speaker 3 (01:27:47):
And it's supposed to be Moodang moudank. So if like
a hippo got loose oh ish, like, here's what we
would do.

Speaker 1 (01:27:54):
So it's a simulation, yes, and they're they're jumping on
this sumo. Mooday.

Speaker 6 (01:27:59):
We got the veterinarians, they're simulating a tranquilizing situation. We've
got doctors giving the hippo a health examination before returning
said animal to their pins.

Speaker 3 (01:28:11):
It's so funny. I did not know is we're syncing
up here. I put that on three things you must see.
I didn't know you were covering this as a story
during headlines. And it's just the video is worth it.

Speaker 1 (01:28:22):
It's getting a lot of time.

Speaker 5 (01:28:23):
I appreciate them being prepared.

Speaker 1 (01:28:24):
It's getting a lot of eyes on it, right, Like
moo dang is so threatening?

Speaker 5 (01:28:27):
Good day, all right.

Speaker 6 (01:28:31):
Also in court today, a doctor charge in connection with
Matthew Perry's death is expected to plead guilty today in
federal court. The Department of Justice says the doctor is
going to plead guilty in LA to four counts of
distribution of ketamine and he could get up to forty
years in prison.

Speaker 5 (01:28:45):
He's one of two doctors in the case. And this
guy's accused of getting the.

Speaker 6 (01:28:48):
Drug delivering it to Matthew Perry's house at least seven times.
And y'all remember the Friends star died from a ketamine
overdose back in twenty twenty three. All Right, if Ozzy
Osbourne taught anything it's that you go out on your
own terms. Stevie Wonder is seventy five years old and
said just that he has no intention of hanging things

(01:29:10):
up because for as long as he can breathe, for
as long as your heart beats, he says, there's more
for you to do.

Speaker 1 (01:29:15):
Listen, I've seen Stevie in concert twice twice. It's been years.

Speaker 3 (01:29:20):
Okay, he talks a lot in between each song. He
chit chats. It's like, bro, let's go play some hits,
you know. But he does play the hits and his voice.

Speaker 1 (01:29:30):
Still sounds really good. So yeah, Stevie Wonder is another
one of these guys. Man. You just hope he just
goes forever.

Speaker 6 (01:29:36):
You don't have to retire, he says, keep going, Stevie.
Those are Houston sidlines.

Speaker 1 (01:29:41):
Alex great choice of a Stevie Wonder song today, thank you.
He wrote this song about the birth of his daughter.
Did a great song.

Speaker 2 (01:29:52):
Okay, what you got?

Speaker 7 (01:29:53):
Well, this is another great song. Astro.

Speaker 5 (01:29:55):
He's one again.

Speaker 7 (01:29:56):
Last night they'd be the.

Speaker 8 (01:29:57):
Diamondbacks three to one. They're gonna wrap up their series
with the d Back this afternoon. Brandon Walter bey in
the Mountain for the Stros going up against Arizona's Brandon
fought first pitches at two forty and you can listen
to that game over on our sister station, Sports Talk
seven ninety and Football. We got the Texans starting training
camp today. They're gonna play their first preseason game and
a little over two weeks when they face the Vikings
on Auti Vikings on August ninth in Minnesota. They're gonna

(01:30:18):
open up the regular season Sunday, September seventh at the Rams.
But football is back. It's our last week without a
football game until February of next year. That is what's
going on in sports.

Speaker 4 (01:30:29):
The Buzz Rock and all very soon, The Rod Ryan
Morning Show. I'm six to ten AM.

Speaker 3 (01:30:35):
Ninety four five, The Buzz, Jimmy Eat World and Sweetness.

Speaker 1 (01:30:42):
Good Morning, rod Ryan Show.

Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
Willi's Wednesday, Willy's Grill an ice house today, Darts open
at eleven. There's nine Willies locations and they're being very
very generous. They're being awesome to work with as always.
You you've not put out to one of these golf
tournaments we do yet. We are putting one together for
we're gonna do the Booms Rock Golf Tournament. There's been

(01:31:05):
no announcement yet or anything, but Willy's is always invited
to come out.

Speaker 1 (01:31:09):
They put on like a party hole and they're out
there cooking and it just everybody gets yelled at, Like
Rod tell you people to keep moving, man, Like the
whole golf tournament stops at Willy's hole and they just
stay there because they just want to hang out. I'm like,
this is a tournament. You have to keep going. Those
old guys that work at the golf course, they yell
at me, keep it moving. Rate to play, rate to play.

Speaker 3 (01:31:32):
Willie Grill and Ice House has stepped up today. They're
calling it Spirit Day at their nine locations. All you
gotta do is go eat at Willy's today. Now you
can call in your order you want to go pick
it up like on the way home. That's a great
thing to make sure you mention the Rod Ryan Show,
whether you're dining in you're calling in your order, or
if you're like a rewards person and you're using their

(01:31:53):
specific app the thing that won't work for us. Again,
I just want you to go to Willy's eat their
great food, because the food is great, but the door.

Speaker 1 (01:32:02):
Dashes and all those things don't work.

Speaker 5 (01:32:04):
Makes sense.

Speaker 3 (01:32:05):
It's just like we start getting to a second party
here and we can't we can't control them. So if
you go to Willy's today, you got to mention us
and we're gonna get fifteen percent of your order into
our fund for purchasing backpacks for kids. You know that
the rod Ryan Show care store is open open still
and all the great stuff is in there.

Speaker 1 (01:32:25):
I'm wearing a shirt today.

Speaker 3 (01:32:28):
My concern. But what I want you to do today
is go to Willy's. All right, doors open at eleven
night locations. I know some of you said you got
to travel a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:32:36):
I don't have one in my neighborhood either, So again,
by the time the kid gets done with her little camp,
then I know I'm going to be in traffic. But
it's worth it. It's worth it because it's for the
kids and it's great food. Sit down with a beer,
maybe a little catfish.

Speaker 5 (01:32:51):
That is that what you're feeling today.

Speaker 1 (01:32:52):
I gotta feel Catfish. I not feeling catfish, but then
their burgers are so killer. Definitely getting onion rings. So
that's going on today.

Speaker 3 (01:33:04):
The Ozzy thing on Facebook is really really fun, and
I'm billing this as possibly the last radio station CD
giveaway ever.

Speaker 5 (01:33:15):
Yes, I'm putting it down in your record book.

Speaker 3 (01:33:17):
Okay, Jose Cruz, we have a bunch of Ozzy CDs
on Facebook. Yeah, eleven Ozzy CDs. All the big ones too, man,
I mean all the greats Man Diary, Bark at the Moon,
Ultimate sin Osmosis Tribute.

Speaker 1 (01:33:33):
Live at Buddhicom. I don't even remember that one.

Speaker 3 (01:33:36):
Wow, So Jose, he goes. I just searched my email.
I won something that was called a big ass box
of CDs. I want it from Carol Lee November twenty sixteen.

Speaker 1 (01:33:52):
Was that the last time this radio station gave listen
at that point we were giving away a box of them,
right because that or something even then they were already
dying that that medium was already dying.

Speaker 9 (01:34:05):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:34:06):
It was a random mix of promo CDs in a box.
I remember going through them. I stumbled upon a pretty
reckless CD. It was autographed by the band. I emailed
Kara back. She got right back to me and confirmed
it was legit. So a little gem in there.

Speaker 1 (01:34:20):
So he got an autographed CD you never know from
cindylu who signed that.

Speaker 2 (01:34:24):
How cool is that?

Speaker 1 (01:34:25):
So twenty sixteen, nine years ago, was the last time
we gave away CDs. I mean, that's the last documentation
that I that I see doing.

Speaker 3 (01:34:36):
Your little Alex number two. He must be a young guy.
He's the guy that always tries to get me to
play Sabrina Carpenter. Yeah, he doesn't understand. He's like, why
aren't you playing Sabrina Carpenter. She's the biggest artist in
the world right now, shut up, pry big artist though
he does not wrong.

Speaker 1 (01:34:49):
I was today, eight years old when I found out
that CD stands for compact disc, Get out of here,
get out it, get out right.

Speaker 5 (01:34:56):
Yeah, CDs you should see not.

Speaker 1 (01:35:00):
I don't have time for that, Alex. Oh, are you
kidding me? You just found out today. So he wouldn't
know what an LP stands for, Lincoln Park.

Speaker 5 (01:35:11):
I wouldn't know what an LP stands for.

Speaker 1 (01:35:14):
A record when anybody said, like a record album, you
know what an album is?

Speaker 5 (01:35:18):
Yeah, you know what stand for? I don't know, you
know if I called it? Yeah, yeah, I got them LP.

Speaker 2 (01:35:23):
It's an LP.

Speaker 5 (01:35:24):
But what is it stand for?

Speaker 1 (01:35:25):
A long playing record?

Speaker 7 (01:35:26):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (01:35:26):
No, I didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (01:35:27):
All right, you know what a forty five is?

Speaker 4 (01:35:29):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (01:35:30):
What is it?

Speaker 5 (01:35:31):
It looks like a cassette tape?

Speaker 1 (01:35:32):
Right, shotku, No, it's a small record.

Speaker 6 (01:35:34):
Oh the little records. What are the ones that look
like cassette tapes that aren't cassette tapes? He'd put them
in at the radio station.

Speaker 3 (01:35:40):
Oh, those are carts, carts, carts. Yeah, that was an
industry thing. I thought you were talking about. Possibly the
KA single. What was that a K single?

Speaker 5 (01:35:48):
I don't know what that is.

Speaker 7 (01:35:49):
Did you know that was like a baby cassette?

Speaker 5 (01:35:51):
Oh, way inside the big cassette.

Speaker 3 (01:35:52):
No, no, no, but it was it was It was
a normal It was a normal sized cassette. Yeah, but
it was just one song, so it was the equivalent. Okay,
So back to the forty five. Huh it was forty
five revolutions per minute.

Speaker 2 (01:36:05):
It spun time.

Speaker 1 (01:36:07):
That's how quickly it's spun on the on the turn turntable. Yes,
I do, okay, yes, so exactly forty five forty five
was a single, one song, one song, right, and then
the flip side. You know you got to you got
like a bonus cut.

Speaker 17 (01:36:24):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:36:25):
There was a cust single, a cast single cassette, and
that had one song on it. It was the cassette
version of a forty five. They would sell those like
right there. When you were checking out, it was like
the gum where did I.

Speaker 5 (01:36:38):
What's that?

Speaker 7 (01:36:39):
Where did eight tracks come in?

Speaker 17 (01:36:40):
Like?

Speaker 7 (01:36:40):
That was a weird thing.

Speaker 1 (01:36:42):
Eight tracks came in this Do you want a video
for your car? The significance of the eight track was
really the first portability of your music.

Speaker 7 (01:36:52):
Okay, you will before if you go.

Speaker 1 (01:36:55):
Yes, before cassettes.

Speaker 3 (01:36:57):
Yes, if you google, there will be eight picture on
Google images of a car that they you will see
the picture as black and white.

Speaker 1 (01:37:06):
And you open up the glove box. You guys know
what a glovebox is.

Speaker 3 (01:37:09):
Okay, the glove compartment and somebody there was at least
one prototype out there.

Speaker 1 (01:37:16):
There was one car that had a turntable in it,
but you couldn't drive with it. So your records.

Speaker 3 (01:37:23):
The only portability of music outside of the radio was
taking your records over to your friend's house and playing records.
An eight track player really allowed you to get out there.
But the cassette was the real portability of music.

Speaker 8 (01:37:37):
Meaning milk crate carts or there's milk crate boxes. They'd
take all their records over to their friends with.

Speaker 3 (01:37:41):
That was the first portability of music, right, But you
had to go to your friend's house. But the cassette,
you had a portable cassette with headphones and now you
could walk around and listen to the music you wanted.
You weren't enslaved to the guys on the radio. So
the eight track was the early workings of that. The
thing about the eight track was just bizarre, man. It
just that piece of tape had eight tracks on it.

(01:38:03):
Why the sound quality was not great and cassettes didn't.

Speaker 1 (01:38:07):
Sound good either. They sounded a decent We had those.
You had cassettes, Yeah, cassettes.

Speaker 5 (01:38:11):
Why are you saying it like that because that's what
they see.

Speaker 2 (01:38:13):
Can't said.

Speaker 7 (01:38:14):
They don't learn how to pronounce it wag.

Speaker 5 (01:38:16):
In Canada English as your second language.

Speaker 1 (01:38:21):
But I was thinking about, you know, that's so cool.

Speaker 3 (01:38:24):
But this whole thing with Ozzy Osbourne and not to
man explain anything further than everything else has been explained
on this show. But I mean the architect the significance
of Ozzi, just in case, because I'm sure this alex
O guy who's running around with a Sabrina Carpenter T
shirt is like, what's the big deal?

Speaker 1 (01:38:39):
Maybe he needs to hear it.

Speaker 5 (01:38:40):
Tell him.

Speaker 1 (01:38:41):
Black Sabbath invented heavy metal music. Everyone agrees. Everyone agrees,
going all the way back to Judas Priest and I
Your Maiden and all these other groundbreaking bands.

Speaker 3 (01:38:52):
Everyone agrees that they invented heavy metal. The other thing
that maybe would like who invented and roll?

Speaker 1 (01:39:00):
Who knows, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Fats Domino, Little Richard, But
those were the architects.

Speaker 5 (01:39:07):
Yeah, everybody.

Speaker 3 (01:39:10):
Looks to Black Sabbath as the start of whatever kind
of airplane or whatever kind of branches.

Speaker 1 (01:39:18):
Everybody puts Black Sabbath as the root of where the
where the tree Am?

Speaker 16 (01:39:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:39:24):
Yeah, yeah, rock and roll, I mean hip hop. I
guess you'd probably go back to some of those DJs
in New.

Speaker 3 (01:39:28):
York, maybe you know, at those parties. I mean, maybe
Chili knows that I don't know. I don't know if is.

Speaker 1 (01:39:34):
Sugar Hill Gang. I'm sure there's someone that I don't know,
but is sugar Hill Gang? Are they still kind of
thought of as like early. I mean they're certainly early pioneers.

Speaker 2 (01:39:44):
Yeah, they're one of the pioneers.

Speaker 1 (01:39:46):
But would they be credited with inventing it?

Speaker 2 (01:39:49):
Ah, I don't know not I would.

Speaker 8 (01:39:52):
First hip hop song was really if you google it,
it says Sugar Hills Rappers Delay, right.

Speaker 18 (01:39:58):
Yeah, So it was more on the underground. I think
there were the ones that came out more commercial, like
that went commercial, but it was more like DJ's like
uh Fast Freddy and all of those guys Fab five Freddy,
Match five Freddy and all that. They started out like
a house parties and stuff like that.

Speaker 8 (01:40:15):
So it's just it's almost DJ coolip.

Speaker 11 (01:40:21):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:40:23):
That's the thing about Black Sabbath is it's usually not
even argued, like who invented country music?

Speaker 1 (01:40:28):
It's been around forever, right, I mean I know that.

Speaker 5 (01:40:33):
Red specific jeans, whiskey.

Speaker 1 (01:40:38):
Cowboy hats, and comboy boots. We need some music go
with my hat. I mean, I know that George Strait
is the king, but he's not the inventor. He's not
thought of his like, you know, the ground floor guy.
You know, like he had a ton of people that
came before him. Heavy metal it's started. Let's quit Black

(01:41:01):
Sabbath and all the way up to Metallica agrees, you know. Yeah,
So all right, well thank you. This is really really fun,
all of this stuff that's going on on our Facebook page.

Speaker 3 (01:41:12):
I really really really do love seeing all this. I
love seeing you guys get involved in just talking. Ozzie,
here's a chance at one thousand dollars go.

Speaker 20 (01:41:19):

information about where the nearest Willies is to you, Chili

(01:41:47):
rhymes with Willie. I like that he put together a
great blog page. There's nine locations. It's a bit of
a drive for me, but it's well worth it. Not
only is the food amazing, but the cost fifteen percent
if you mentioned rod Ryan's show at any of the
nine Willies locations, uh, fifteen percent of your check, no
matter what you're going in there for, bring the biggest

(01:42:08):
group you can. Fifteen percent of that check that's going
to go to us purchasing backpacks full of school.

Speaker 1 (01:42:14):
Supplies online Kid's Alex Online ninety four five. The muzz
can't wait to see what you guys are gonna be eating.
I can't make up my mind.

Speaker 5 (01:42:25):
It's gonna be a game time over there. I get it,
go to It's easy.

Speaker 1 (01:42:29):
It's like a kid uh Alex, Hello rod Hi, what
you're doing for your ale well today?

Speaker 8 (01:42:36):
Well, Ozzy Osbourne seemed top of mine, so I tried
to find something Ozsy themed and I tied it into
my love for gambling. So you will be playing the
Ozzy Osbourne slot machine today. Ooh, that is not for
real money, since you're not legally gambled.

Speaker 1 (01:42:51):
Okay, little online faux gambling.

Speaker 7 (01:42:53):
Yeah, so you pretty much just spin it.

Speaker 8 (01:42:55):
You can get Ozzy, get Ozzy, you can get a
skull with the crown eye, you can get his cross,
you can get scattered, you can get a bat, all
kinds of crazy stuff.

Speaker 7 (01:43:04):
It's one of those where there's like.

Speaker 8 (01:43:06):
Twenty seven lines, so I don't really even know outside
of the three or four lines on a slot machine.
I have no idea what's going on, but you go
to like a regular casino and it's just got like
there's like a V and a zigzag on there.

Speaker 1 (01:43:17):
I don't know how I won, but it seems like
I've connected these sum But one of the icons is Across.

Speaker 7 (01:43:23):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (01:43:23):
Yeah, then there's the crow. Ozzy early on always wore
a cross. They were never a devil band. I know
that your parents and your grandparents probably thought that they
never were. There's a character, but that cross necklace, you
know who?

Speaker 1 (01:43:37):
He gave one to young Blood.

Speaker 5 (01:43:40):
I saw that something.

Speaker 1 (01:43:42):
I think it gave him Across. I was, yeah, there's
a young blug and then Ozzy said, here take this one.
And that's a cool little case and everything too. Yeah
he gifted young Blood who I like that. You love
that other song that was trying to get the summer.

Speaker 7 (01:43:53):
Jammy British interaction with the two of them talking.

Speaker 3 (01:43:55):
Yeah, young Blood performed, he did changes and he did
a really good job with it. But yeah he comes
away with an Ozzy from gifted from Ozzie Across necklace.

Speaker 7 (01:44:06):
Idea, what was coming on? It was gonna happen two
weeks later.

Speaker 1 (01:44:08):
I imagine nobody did every interaction you had with Ozzy,
It's like, oh, I got more special?

Speaker 7 (01:44:13):
Does that make it pretty crazy?

Speaker 1 (01:44:14):
All right?

Speaker 16 (01:44:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:44:15):
Go play the Ozzy osmats today at the well famous
Rod Ryan shop.

Speaker 7 (01:44:18):
Hit at buzz dot com.

Speaker 1 (01:44:20):
You were listening to the Rod Bryan Show. Summertime is
here and I just got ba gonna grab something boxing
and go get cool La by ninety four five the Buzz.

Speaker 3 (01:44:34):
Ninety four or five the Buzz. That's brand new music
from Sublime.

Speaker 1 (01:44:39):
We have we have nudged the Bear, you know him
as the radio Wizard. I felt it and we just
kind of told him. I said, this Sublime song is great.

Speaker 4 (01:44:47):
We all love it.

Speaker 1 (01:44:48):
He's given it to us once a day this week
and it's really, uh, we're in a test pattern right now,
just to see and I hope you're still liking it.
Every time I hear it, I like it more. So
that's a good sign.

Speaker 7 (01:45:02):
It's not.

Speaker 5 (01:45:04):
Like it's wearing off.

Speaker 3 (01:45:07):
I remember bugging him we were not getting that Monuskin
song I'm Big in I'm Big in You, and I
remember sending him an email going, dude, we should be
playing that in the morning. Just because that Monuskin thing
was kind of hitting. It was hitting hard, and I
just said, I will remember this email because I'm going
to hate this song.

Speaker 1 (01:45:28):
But right now, I'm just.

Speaker 5 (01:45:30):
It's my contage.

Speaker 3 (01:45:31):
It's not that my opinion doesn't mean anything. I go,
it's my recommendation that we play this in the morning.

Speaker 5 (01:45:36):
And how did it go.

Speaker 1 (01:45:37):
We did end up getting it, and I was right.

Speaker 5 (01:45:39):
I said I will.

Speaker 1 (01:45:40):
Remember this email. I will hate this song.

Speaker 3 (01:45:42):
Yeah, I don't feel that way about this. I'm not
gonna hate It's just such a classic. I mean, I
don't really hate some Lime songs when they come on.
I have ones that I like better than others. But
that's got nothing that's going to burn for me. It's
just it sounds like a classic. I know, always shy
away from that word here, it sounds like a classic
Sublime song.

Speaker 2 (01:46:01):
Let's go up.

Speaker 5 (01:46:01):
I'm writing your words down.

Speaker 1 (01:46:04):
Yeah, I won't hate them.

Speaker 5 (01:46:05):
I'll hold you to it.

Speaker 1 (01:46:06):
I'm not gonna hate that song. It's just not gonna happen.
Uh Mo nailed it.

Speaker 3 (01:46:12):
Man the Zoo and Thailand using a mascot version of
its most famous resident. We all know that's Moo Dang
Moodang is that mini.

Speaker 6 (01:46:21):
Hippo, pigmy hippo, pigmy hippo, Thank you, welcome, and Moodang
means him tie no.

Speaker 5 (01:46:27):
Would you like me to tell you?

Speaker 1 (01:46:29):
Does it mean long playing record LP, bouncy pork, bouncy
pork or bounty pig.

Speaker 3 (01:46:34):
Yeah, that must have come up at the time that
we were doing the story. So Moodang is that pigmy
hippo at that zoo and Thailand and they used like
a blow up mascout version of Moodang and it was
a drill testing the zoo keepers how they.

Speaker 1 (01:46:47):
Would respond to an animal escape. And you have this
humpty dumpty.

Speaker 5 (01:46:52):
Moodang modeling around.

Speaker 1 (01:46:54):
There's a man in there and they're like tackling them
and stud.

Speaker 5 (01:46:58):
Why does it bring me so much?

Speaker 3 (01:47:00):
It really is funny, just because I guess you have
to run these drills we have. We still do old
school fire alarms in this building. And I say that
just because we did that when we were in school.
When a fire alarm went off, it was the best.

Speaker 1 (01:47:15):
It's like in the middle of tart out of class,
you got out of class, you had to go outside.
It was you wave around it happens here in this building?
Is it maybe twice a year?

Speaker 2 (01:47:25):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:47:25):
I don't want to get us in trouble.

Speaker 5 (01:47:26):
How many a lot more than that?

Speaker 1 (01:47:28):
I know there's a fire inspector listening going. Well, they
should be doing it four times, definitely, four times. That
was the fire, that was the fire wizard. Oh well,
I think you got supposed to be doing that four
times a year, Rod.

Speaker 5 (01:47:38):
I'm sure we might just not be here for all
of this. Fair They do it at different times.

Speaker 1 (01:47:43):
Good call the evening drills.

Speaker 3 (01:47:47):
The other thing, there's a couple of well, there's always
three things on three things you must see. There's an
electrical engineer. I should have sent this to Tom an Engineering.
He's probably the only one that thinks this is cool.
But it's in rural Vermont and he's kind of helping
out and he's fixing up old payphones.

Speaker 1 (01:48:05):
And he's installing them in spots with no cell service.

Speaker 3 (01:48:08):
There are rural places in Vermont, like dead zones that
you can't get cell service. So he is working on
these old payphones to get them up and working. He's
an engineer, he's a smart guy.

Speaker 5 (01:48:20):
Nothing else to do.

Speaker 3 (01:48:21):
He buys them for a few hundred bucks. He adds
a gadget that connects them to the internet, so they
are modernized, right, and he installs them outside of businesses. Now,
since they're online, you don't need a quarter, so the
calls are free. And the one that's getting used the
most is outside of a library. And he said, kids
use it to call their parents for rides.

Speaker 5 (01:48:42):
Kids know how to use a phone. Yeah, does your
kid know how to use a phone?

Speaker 1 (01:48:47):
No, there's not one available for them for her to learn.

Speaker 5 (01:48:50):
How do we need to teach them?

Speaker 3 (01:48:51):
But there is one there, so I don't think that's
coming back, you know. So kids use it to call
their parents for rides from the library. Now the phone's
costing this guy ten dollars a month in admin fees.

Speaker 1 (01:49:06):
He's paying for it.

Speaker 3 (01:49:07):
And get this, he's the operator. If you dial zero
from the payphones, it goes to his phone. He's the
operator of these things.

Speaker 5 (01:49:18):
Bless him. I mean, that's really sweet.

Speaker 1 (01:49:21):
The guy that came up with something. He's like, you
know what, I'm a pretty smart guy. This might help me.
I wonder if you'll see more of this or are
we just going to get into a situation where there's
no more dead zones. For you know, with Starlink and
all of that becoming less and less, maybe there will
be no more dead zones. But yeah, he pays. He's
got a couple of them out there. He's got several
of them out there, and he pays the freight. They're

(01:49:42):
ten dollars a month.

Speaker 3 (01:49:43):
But nobody's given him a hard time about where he's
put them, and they just they're all self sustaining.

Speaker 1 (01:49:47):
They're out there on their own. Sweet, really really cool.
There's more on that. That's on three things you Must
see today. There's some good people out there still. He's
another summer with a Ron Ryan show yea on ninety.

Speaker 12 (01:50:01):
Five The Buzz.

Speaker 1 (01:50:06):
Ninety four or five The Buzz, my favorite band, my
favorite song, food Fighters ever long Rod Ryan's show on
this Willie's Grill and Ice House Wednesday. Time you going,
what's dinner? Time for the most I'm.

Speaker 6 (01:50:22):
Going for lunch today so that I can fully enjoy
my meal and eat it with two hands.

Speaker 1 (01:50:27):
Yeah that's good. Yes, I got the kid in like
summer camps.

Speaker 5 (01:50:31):
Yes, I gotta wait till she gets out, so that's
kind of you.

Speaker 3 (01:50:34):
I'm thinking of trying to pick her up a little
early because I got to drive some of these locations.
You know, there's nine Willies locations, and I know you've
all heard by now, but there's always if you hear
me repeat myself in separate breaks on the radio, there's
the thought is there's always somebody tuning in for the first.

Speaker 5 (01:50:53):
Time, somebody knew I wanted to miss anything.

Speaker 1 (01:50:56):
And you're someone maybe that has been listening for all
four hours. I love you.

Speaker 3 (01:51:01):
I wish everybody was like that. And then you heard
me mention this ten times today on the show. But
Willie's today, all nine locations, they're open eleven until ten.
They're giving us a five thousand dollars donation, but we
could there's no cap on that, meaning they'll give us more.
We got to earn back that five grand by you
mentioning the Rod Ryan Show. If it goes over five grand,

(01:51:22):
they'll give us that money too. You have to mention
the Rod Ryan Show, though it's not just like going
to Willie's. That goes for phoning in the order. I
was kind of hesitant to talk about this one on
the air.

Speaker 1 (01:51:38):
No, that's right.

Speaker 2 (01:51:40):
Where is that?

Speaker 16 (01:51:43):
She she?

Speaker 3 (01:51:45):
I don't have one near me, rod But I still
ordered Willi's is nowhere near me, but I still ordered
on the phone.

Speaker 1 (01:51:53):
I ordered the onion rings, and I left a note
with your name stating I'll not be picking this up.

Speaker 3 (01:51:59):
So she ordered again. She did this through Willie's. She
did it through Willie so we'll get credit for it.
She ordered handbreaded onion rings. They're eight dollars and nine cents, right,
no utensils.

Speaker 1 (01:52:17):
Feel free to give a feel free to give away
to anyone, or not make them at all.

Speaker 3 (01:52:22):
Thanks for supporting the rod Ryan Show. The next note,
I am placing an order. I will not be picking
this order up. Next note, I'm buying this to support
the rod Ryan Show. Ordering to raise money for backpacks.

Speaker 1 (01:52:35):
So so like, hey, give those away to somebody, give somebody.

Speaker 5 (01:52:39):
You're gonna make somebody's day.

Speaker 3 (01:52:40):
Hey, you know what somebody called their They already said
they're not picking this up. Here's an extra.

Speaker 1 (01:52:43):
There's some onion rings that's on on Kristen. Thank you. Yeah,
I don't know if we want to get into too
much about it. It's really really nice. So I'm sorry
you're going for lunch today.

Speaker 18 (01:52:56):
I am.

Speaker 5 (01:52:58):
Okay, I gotta wait, DLST.

Speaker 1 (01:53:03):
I'm sorry. They closed so early at ten o'clock.

Speaker 8 (01:53:06):
I know you normally eat dinner at my busy day
week I leave here, go prep for a podcast, then
do the podcast, and then edit the podcast.

Speaker 5 (01:53:14):
Today I'm gonna treat the boys.

Speaker 7 (01:53:17):
Treat the boys.

Speaker 8 (01:53:18):
I'm gonna get some Willi's go pick it up and
then bring it back up to the station.

Speaker 1 (01:53:21):
Okay, because dinner wouldn't work for you because they close
so early, Well.

Speaker 7 (01:53:25):
I had to go to a locationally.

Speaker 5 (01:53:29):
You're right, Chili, what time you go?

Speaker 1 (01:53:30):
What are you doing for your Willies deal today? You're
a dinner guy, right.

Speaker 2 (01:53:35):
Yeah, no, I'm actually going for lunch.

Speaker 1 (01:53:38):
That means he's not leaving Willies.

Speaker 5 (01:53:40):
That's time I spent money for the kids. Yeah, I
spent about It's a good thing.

Speaker 2 (01:53:45):
Six hours in one location. Then I went. I went
to dinner to the one and Katie after you left.

Speaker 5 (01:53:52):
Yeah, Chili, charitable guy.

Speaker 3 (01:53:54):
Chili can be at Willie's for so long during lunch
that it becomes dinner time and he gets hungry again.

Speaker 1 (01:54:00):
He gets hungry a second time.

Speaker 2 (01:54:02):
I mean, that's awesome. It took me. It took me
a while to finish those onion rings. They're big, dude,
but I'm going for lunch. Mo says she wants to go,
but I'm not going, like at the time she wants
to go.

Speaker 5 (01:54:13):
When are you going?

Speaker 2 (01:54:14):
I'm going like after, like eleven o'clock.

Speaker 5 (01:54:17):
That's when I'm going. All right, you go to lunch together.

Speaker 1 (01:54:20):
Has the eating habits and the sleeping habits of your children,
so it's gonna be too. That's a match made in heaven.

Speaker 2 (01:54:26):
I did whenever I'm ready, I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (01:54:28):
All of the Willi's information chili.

Speaker 3 (01:54:30):

Speaker 1 (01:54:51):

Speaker 18 (01:54:54):
Felt like a boss with you. Yeah, and she still
has a CD player in her car, so I knew
they're going to go to use.

Speaker 5 (01:55:01):
Yes, you deserve that.

Speaker 1 (01:55:04):
That's the one thing I wouldn't mind is a CD
player in my vehicles.

Speaker 22 (01:55:07):
How I would use it? I would I would listen
to some old CDs. I had one in my truck.
I just took it out, really, but why I wasn't
using CDs a lot.

Speaker 5 (01:55:19):
They're a lot to lug around.

Speaker 18 (01:55:20):
Now, you know what, I want to keep my CDs
at home. I don't want somebody to break in my
truck and steal all my books CDs. Yeah, that would
be the first thing they Oh dude, that's gold maybe
the only thing.

Speaker 2 (01:55:31):
All right, think about all the hip hop. You're not wrong.
