(03:40):

Callie dog, Miss Rev, had to have her eye removed
following a glaucoma diagnosis. The university's president made the announcement yesterday,
saying the pupp had been experiencing the discomfort and cloudiness
in her right eye. Makes me rethink every thing as
(04:00):
a dog mom, because I'm like, how did you know
that your dog was having cloudiness in her right eye?
A and M has the top vets, as we all
know in the state, so they decided to have surgery
remove the eye. The dog's doing well and Miss Rev
is resting and we'll be back to attending classes and
cheering on the aggies come fall.

the upset of the year and maybe of the millennia. Okay,
(20:28):
you're a fresh fish and you're going against the guy
that won it all last year as he tries to
make it win number five, Dale taken down. You you
win today, You're an instant legend. Okay, can't wait? Okay,
Adam's like, dude, quit guessing this guy up some much.
You never know what the fish.
Speaker 12 (20:49):
I mean, all the great started off as a fresh
at one point, so he might be the next one.

We got a pair of tickets see Offspring, No pressure, Jimmy,
We're old Newfound Glory in the Woodlands August twenty third.
Speaker 1 (21:03):

Speaker 10 (21:07):
Oh yeah, fresh fish in the house.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
That's where it came from. Yeah, fresh fish. That's from
Shawshange Redemption. You should watch the movies once in a while.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
We'll get right on that.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Here we go. We don't have time right now, but
Shawshank's a pretty good one. Adam and Dale. Now, Dale,
you got to shout out your name when you think
you know the answer. Okay, okay, do you even want
to be a legend? Okay, don't answer that. Oh, here
we go. You want to be a legend? I'm already there.
(21:47):
But okay, all right, all right, here we go. Question
number one, Adam and Dale. What fruit does SpongeBob SquarePants
live in Dale? Thanks? Dale, But Adam got there first.
He lives in a pineapple under the sea. Under the
(22:10):
sea lives in a pineapple. Your kids watch them. No,
we're not allowed to know, not because it's like it's
like crack dude, Okay, Adam's on the board. Now, Dale,
you said you were already there in the legend like
you're in that space.
Speaker 7 (22:28):
Answer so.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Answer no, no, no, no.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Name your name him?
Speaker 6 (22:38):
Oh God?
Speaker 1 (22:39):
All right, now you got to shout out Dale, Dale.
You have to shout out your name before Adam does,
and then wait for me to call on you and
then give me the correct answer. You need to do
that two times. You need to do that the next
two questions. Okay, Dale, all right, here we go, legend,
legend on the line. Here comes the question. You're I'm
gonna be listening for someone to shout out their name.
(23:01):
Here we go. Which September Holiday? Is all? Well? I
heard Adam first, Adam, go ahead.
Speaker 6 (23:13):
Labor Day.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
I mean, there's a couple of things in September, is there.
I don't know that's correct. That's a complete question for
those of you playing at home. Which September Holiday is
(23:37):
also called the unofficial end of summer in the United States?
That would be Labor Day. Adam is correct, Good game, Dale, Dale,
Dale of the legend, instant legend, Dale d before I
(23:59):
came on. But I think you lost your legendary status
you came end.
Speaker 4 (24:08):
No, yeah, ye don't get down on yourself.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
You're being stripped of your legend. Whatever you wherever you
obtained that legend.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
Your mom told you your legend.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
It wasn't here like Alex's mom talks about him. Dale.
We got to think about you. Thanks Bro, thanks for
playing today, all right, Adam, I guess yesterday was your
hard day, difficult day, and then today was just a
little lay up. So really, dude, six times in the
(24:40):
Hall of Fame. That's big, and you won it all

busy this morning, very fun. I want to thank you
(25:44):
guys for sending me those words. The thing that's maybe
stressing me out is just I know what it is.
We're playing read my lips at seven twenty. That means
I got less time to curate the words and get
them ready for the game. It's okay, you guys are
killing it. Thank you keep emailing me your word suggestions,
but I really need you this morning to get him
in early.
Speaker 14 (26:00):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Rod at the buzz dot Com Chile is taking on
Alex at seven twenty. Well, why are we playing at
seven to twenty? You know I hate that? Well because
the suburb Summer Sizzler is locked in the eight twenty
League City takes on Splendora today. It's an all Ozzy
Osbourne throwback Thursday. So I can't wait to do song
clips and I got some Ozzie coming up for you.
In fun facts, I already told you about that sunny
(26:22):
skuys today ten percent chance of rain hies up around
ninety eight. We got a new Hall of Famer, fresh
out of bed head to head challenge. Here's your current champion,
hen daddy, Oh you're rolling.
Speaker 12 (26:43):
Hold phoning everybody, he says, Adam to top your friends
out have been heads ahead.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Hall of Fame member number nine. Day all thought he
was coming in as a as a legend, but I
had to shut him down. Now touring me at the
end of the year, as.
Speaker 11 (26:58):
That becomes the first fres the hood back to bed.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
You're long champion. Oh well, I'll take your hunting too.
So at the end of the November ses oh he was.
Was he playing fresh out of bed when he took
the hog? Or was that the first phone call when
he took the hog first phone call?
Speaker 2 (27:18):
It his first phone call?
Speaker 1 (27:19):
Or maybe open open phones he was in the block. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
so yeah, he's hunting on the phone while on the phone.
Tournament of Champions, all of that stuff. Yah yeah, yeah,
it is awesome. All right, I got a chance. You
have a chance at some volbeat Hailstorm tickets coming up.
But first, it's the fuck back to the day. We
(27:40):
make you look smart. Inn here, buddy, it the FuG
back to the day. All right, brought us some fun
facts for you today. This one from uh Isaiah's Chabbaz sends.
In today's first fun fact, he said, good Moneving Rod
(28:00):
and family. Maybe you already knew, but there may be
others that didn't know that. In Ozzy's No More Tears,
what we are hearing are whale calls. Yeah, it's during
it's during Zach Wilde's solo during this song, and he
(28:21):
sent me all of the facts to back it up that. Yeah,
the presence of these sounds, noting that they add an
interesting and emotional element to the song. The whale calls
are not real whales. They are created by using the
guitars techniques, using glass slides and volume manipulation. Nice fun
fact today, bro, those are whale calls, simulated whale calls.
(28:47):
It looks like Zach Wyld pull those off. It's an
all Ozzy Osbourne throwback Thursday. Now he's working his way
in the fun facts, No wonder he's still trending. Hey,
did anybody go to Planet Hollywood in the nineties Planet
Hollywood Restaurants? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (29:01):
Of course.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
And then it was what Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and
Arnold Schwarzenegger. They seem to be the faces of it.
I'm sure there were. Sure there were other investors, but
they had the big goofy jackets, the what'd you call
those letterman jackets and stuff, so they were once a
huge deal. They were all over the place. Was there
one here? I'm sure there was hard rock?
Speaker 3 (29:23):
I was going to say the hard rocks were very similar,
and hard Rocks seemed very good.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
There were sixty cities worldwide that had Planet Hollywood's. Now
there are only two.
Speaker 15 (29:32):
That is really.
Speaker 6 (29:35):
Who.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
Times Square still has one in New York and Disney
World in Florida has a Planet Hollywood. I don't remember
saying that.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
You'd collect the T shirts that have just said the
name of it? Is it the same shirt? They said
the city name on the bottom?
Speaker 1 (29:46):
It was the same as the hard rock. Do you
remember the Model Cafe? Yeah, there was one in New
Orleans and it was like whatever the big models were
in the nineties.
Speaker 6 (29:56):
Really.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Yeah, you walked through a big camera the front door
of it. Yeah, it didn't take off. Finally, we can
thank the clothing brand Guests. They created and sold the
first pair of acid wasped jens in nineteen eighty one.
(30:16):
That's neat. How about that acid wash.
Speaker 13 (30:20):
That's to the day We make you look smart, everybody.
This the fuck that to.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
The day by what You Giving Away?
Speaker 3 (30:28):

Speaker 4 (30:33):
And you know this fun fact flashback?
Speaker 1 (30:35):
All right, fun oh okay. In the nineteen thirties, a
brand of toilet paper. They were called Northern Bath Tissue.
They marketed themselves with a slogan that we thought, we
all thought was pretty interesting. This is the nineteen thirties.
(30:57):
I know it's a long time ago, but it seems
like not that long. When they sold, they were the
top seller with this slogan. What was their slogan? Because
it wasn't always guaranteed with toilet paperback then seven one, three, two, two, five,
nine four five. It's now time for rockout with your
stock out with Captain Cash. All right, there's the money guy.
(31:18):
There's a big day on Wall Street yesterday. Good morning,
hell brother, rauh, good morning. Wow, what a day man,
record numbers and stuff. I can't wait to hear about it. Yeah,
good day on Wall Street. The Dow was up five
hundred and seven points.
Speaker 14 (31:32):

Speaker 1 (31:52):
And Nikki Dee's. On the economic calendar this.
Speaker 14 (31:54):

I think just earlier on the downside.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Come on, let's turn this baby around. That's it. I'm
out here.
Speaker 14 (32:03):
This is howling many to arc through with the raem

sublime emails.
Speaker 4 (32:36):

Speaker 1 (32:38):

Speaker 4 (32:39):
It was stuck in my head all day. Still stop
saying that.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
So yeah one one thumbs down and then everything else
was like, oh my god, Yeah it's really really good.
They liked it. So I'm sending those over to the wizard.
Good morning everybody. Hi, it's a throwback Thursday. It's an
all Ozzy Osbourne throwback Thursday. So we'll try to get
in some song clips for you. Next hour we play
Reading my Lips. Next hour, I'm also getting the words
ready for the game. Get your fun doing the fun
(33:04):
Fact flashback. Come on, what are we trying to do here?
Good morning? Who's on the phone. H Jacqueline, Hi Jacqueline,
Good morning. Welcome in to Home Run. So in the
nineteen thirties, there was a brand of toilet paper called
Northern Bath Tissue. They marketed itself with a slogan that
apparently was not always a guarantee with TP back then.
(33:26):
And what was the slogan?
Speaker 8 (33:29):
It was on Glennard three year US.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
Yeah. You don't forget that meeting the other ones.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
Just don't.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
There was a chance you're getting a splinter, a splitzer
your bum. Congratulations, what are you giving Jacqueline.
Speaker 3 (33:42):
Jacqueline, You're going to see vol Beats. They're going to
be here on their greatest of all tours worldwide. Hailstorm
will be with them July twenty ninth, seven to one to.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Three Music Hall. If you're still looking for tickets, you
can check out ticketmaster dot com. Congrat's Mama, Thank you
so much, Mama.
Speaker 11 (33:57):
I love you.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
Yeah, all right, Jacqueline, we love her too, Thank you, Jacqueline.
All right, you're gonna be hearing me saying this all morning.
Hey guys, were late. Uh, let's get right into it,
MO with Houston's headline.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
Let's do it because heat dome is the word of
the day. We're shooting backed up towards one hundred degrees
for our Thursday. The record high set back in nineteen
fifty four was one hundred and one degrees, but we're
cooling off.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
At the end of the week. Another round of rain.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
Blows it in for Friday and Saturday, but don't scrap
your weekend plans. Saturday's rain supposed to be earlier in
the day, which is good news because it means we
might not warm out.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
Of the eighties for Saturday.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
Hey, yesterday a judge sentenced Brian Koberger to serve life
in prison for the brutal stabbing deaths of for University
of Idaho students nearly three years ago. This has been
all over the news for the past three years and
has shook all of us to our core, and yesterday
was no different because the families of the victims had
the opportunity to talk. They described the anguish they felt
(34:54):
since their loved ones were killed, and their words were
broadcast everywhere.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
Extremely moving.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Still, we're left with no motive, and Coburger chose not
to speak at the hearing. The judge did end the case,
saying Coburger's fifteen minutes of fame were over and quote,
I will not attempt to speak about him further other
than to simply sentence him. So that he is forever
removed from civilized society. Apple is rolling out some new
emojis with the latest iPhone update, and they always seem
(35:23):
to make the news when they do this, because there's
a whole outside organization in charge of which emojis make
the cut.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
Who goes into work every day and say, I work
for emoji and wild There's a board, yes, that determines
what's going to be the latest.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
That's kind of cool though.
Speaker 4 (35:38):
They take suggestions.
Speaker 3 (35:40):
I don't know who's in charge because these suggestions are
done one of the new ones. There's a trombone road
when in the actual hecke.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
But the thing is, if I know young people like
I know, like I'm a young person, yet tell me
that trombone will morph into meeting something else.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
So it's gonna be like the new egg plant you're saying.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
It will mean, it will take on a new meaning.
It will never be the literal icon that we look at.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
Okay, trum bone?
Speaker 1 (36:09):
What else?
Speaker 4 (36:10):
How about an orca? That one's for Alex. We know
you love free.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
Willie Well love free whales.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
To perfect Bankfoot also on the list. Finally Bigfoot gets
his chance. I know, dudes, don't really use emojis.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
But but I think all of those are like sexual things.
Now I'm already like coming up with my reasons to
use free Willy.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
Ballet dancer, a landslide tonight.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
What do you think?
Speaker 1 (36:36):
Are you up for it?
Speaker 17 (36:37):
Y'all?
Speaker 3 (36:38):
The story about the drowning death of actor Malcolm Jamal
Warner is getting even more heartbreaking. We had heard that
he was on family vacation in Costa Rica. He was
swimming in the ocean got caught in a rip current,
right while Costabrican officials are now saying he was swimming
with his eight year old daughter when the accident occurred.
The girl was rescued by a surfer, thank god, but
(36:58):
after forty five minutes DPR Malcolm could not be saved.
We know he kept his family life super private, but
our heart still breaks for them and feels for that
whole situation. All Right, while I'm talking about morbid stuff,
let's talk about Ozzie's funeral.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
He left instructions instructions.
Speaker 3 (37:13):
There's several interviews that are resurfacing about times he'd spoken
about his funeral as well, and I guess he'd talked
to his family about what he wanted for the ceremony,
and he kind of had a cool take on the
whole thing. Ozzie reportedly gave his family permission to do
whatever they wanted, whatever made them happy, because funerals are
for the living, right, Yeah, Ozzie said, quote, I honestly
don't care what music.
Speaker 4 (37:34):
They play at my funeral.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
They can play a medley of Justin Bieber, Susan Boyle
and We're the Diddy mean, if that makes them happy.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
He was in a commercial with Justin Bieber stop it, Yeah,
when it was like four G or some when three
G was coming out, He's like, what's a Bieba? Remember that?
Speaker 6 (37:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (37:51):
So he definitely had some sort of a connection. I
don't know if I'm not sure if they were ever
in the same room together. Oh, but did he I
love that.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
It was top of mind when they asked him, like,
what do you want to be played at your funeral
by Justin?
Speaker 1 (38:03):
Maybe I don't care, But he did always love the Beatles.
Didn't he have one specific song that he wanted?
Speaker 4 (38:08):
They're saying possibly a day in the life, which makes sense.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
He was a huge Beatles fan.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
Once a celebration shine, not a mote fest.
Speaker 6 (38:15):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
In one interview, He also said it'd be fun to
play a video of him asking his doctor for a
second opinion.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
Get us humor, That is fine. There's a ton of
Ozzy stuff again on links and guests today.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
Check it out. Those are Houston's headlines.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
Take it Outlex Ascros got another win yesterday and think
up of the Diamondbacks four to three. They've now won
four in a row and are tied for the most
wins in the AL. Tonight, they're gonna open up a
four game series with the Athletics.
Speaker 5 (38:39):
Jason Alexandro Bey the mountain for the DROs going up
against the A's Luis Severino.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
First pitches at seventeen.
Speaker 5 (38:44):
You can listen to it on our sister stations, Sports
Talk seven ninety News Radio seven forty.
Speaker 1 (38:48):
K t H.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
That is what's going on in Sports.
Speaker 18 (38:52):
Houston's rocking alternatives, The Rod Morning Show six to ten
AM ninety four or five Buzz.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
Ninety four or five The Buzz Offspring Self Esteem, Welcome
to the seventh Spot. What I wrote down in my handwriting,
it says we're playing read my lips this hour? Is
that correct?
Speaker 4 (39:10):
Why would you do that to yourself?
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Why would I do that to anyone. Why would I
subject myself to that good question, mo, Because the Suburb
Summer Sizzler is locked in the eight twenty League City
and Splendora. What a game yesterday. If you missed the
Sizzler yesterday, go back and listen to the podcast. It
was great, man. I mean, we had to call somebody
in off the bench and all that. I don't want
(39:32):
to get into it.
Speaker 6 (39:32):
It's just it was.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
There was all kinds of calamity behind the scenes and
chili though, like a duck on the pond, you know
what I mean. He's like, he's like paddling like a
son of a bitch under the water. You can't see it,
and he's just like calm and cool, just a chili duck,
just going across the pond. Yesterday he got it done.
So League City Splendora eight twenty Suburb Summer Sizzler, It's
(39:54):
not too late to sign up to represent your suburb show.
Federal Credit Union has ponied up six thou dollars again.
The winner gets five thousand dollars plus two hundred and
fifty dollars for being in the final four. Read my
lips is at seven twenty. Then it's for Shine Down tickets.
I told you I was taking a lot of emails
about that Sublime song.
Speaker 4 (40:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
Yeah, A lot of people heard it for the very
first time, which I think is awesome. I got one
thumbs down and then the rest was like wow, I
can'tnot believe how much he sings like his dad. Steve White,
says Rod. I've never been a huge fan of Sublime.
Even the original stuff was just okay good in my opinion. However,
the more I listen to this new song, I like
(40:35):
it more and more. I was kind of questioning your
choice to deem it the summer song. Now I agree,
it's the jam Steve the bread man. I mean, who
doesn't like when somebody agrees with you?
Speaker 2 (40:46):
But obviously we have great taste.
Speaker 4 (40:49):
They're feeling it too. That's cool.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
Yeah, but you know when you when you're on board
with stuff like that. There was one Guy's like, I've
never been a fan of Sublime either, but this new
song I heard it for the first today and I
liked it. That was Trey, So thank you sent all
those to the radio Wizard, which I've been having talking
to that guy every day this week.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
Yeah, he's sick.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
Oh, I'm like, He's like, what do you want today?
I'm like, I want an Ozzy Osbourne throwback Thursday. Is
that too much to ask? I mean, is that too
much to ask? He's like, yeah, it's not our format.
I said, yeah, I know, but can we still have
some fun here?
Speaker 4 (41:26):
And we're doing it?
Speaker 1 (41:28):
Ozzy Osbourne crazy train in last place, which he was.
I know, he's gonna be surprised because he thought that
was gonna be a runaway winner. Ozzy Osbourne barked at
the moon in second place. Ozzy Osbourne, Mama, I'm coming
home in first place. Here's why I'm not surprised. When
somebody dies, the public picks the song that represents what
(41:51):
means to what what that moment means to them. Listen,
hear me out. When Chris Cornell died, everybody jumped on
black Hole Sun with the line no one sings like
you anymore? YEA black Hole's Son became the song of
Chris Cornell's death. We decided that, Yeah, he died unexpectedly,
there was no Hey, we're gonna play this when he
passes away, hopefully a long time from now. Foo Fighters
(42:15):
My Hero not written about Kurt Cobain, not written about anybody.
According to Dave Grohl, that unofficially became the song of
the death of their drummer Ty Taylor Hawkins because the
son played on My Hero and that became Taylor's song.
That's now Taylor song My Hero.
Speaker 5 (42:35):
I always feel like it's just because it's whatever the
top song is on, like the playlists that people will
go to because if you weren't familiar with like Ozzy Osbourne,
but be like, well, I should go listen to some
Ossie and that he passed away. You just go and
like Crazy Train. I just looked, is the number one
thing yep on this So you would think Crazy Training
would kill right, because black Hole Son is probably the
number one like Chris Ord song. Yeah, imagine that was
(43:00):
like the first thing people thought when they went to it.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
I mean, Mama, I'm coming home with him singing men, Mama,
I'm coming home. He closed out his Azzie set because
Ozzie did two sets at the Farewell show. He did
an Ozzie set and we had the isolated vocals and
everybody was crying and everything, and then he had to
come back on and do four or five songs with
Black Sabbath to close out his career, but Mama was
(43:25):
the last song he did for the Azzie solo career,
and I feel like that's been the go to song,
we said Wolfgang van Halen. On the day that Ozzie announced,
or on the day that the family announced that Ozzie
had passed, Wolfe found out. He said, they went, They
went right to the practice room and for three hours
they worked up Mama, I'm coming home. I got the
(43:45):
link up on the Azsie link.
Speaker 4 (43:46):
Did they do a job?
Speaker 1 (43:48):
They did a great job. And Wolfe even said he
goes man, I screwed up a couple of times, but
you know why we did what we did. I mean, then,
Zach wild Stuff's not easy to play. So that's what
we have for you. We have three great Ozzie songs
for Throwback Thursday, and already I've taken them too much,
job because I gotta play a game. And in the
(44:08):
seven o'clock hour, what it's time to read my lips
even though it's too early. You guys have done a
wonderful job. I do, I do have words. I will
do one final scan. I know you're like, this is
kind of thrown everybody off. I'll do one final scan,
send me your word suggestions for Read my Lips. The
(44:29):
boys are at it again, so Mom put away to China.
The twins are taking on one another and they will
represent to win you Shine Down Bush tickets. So it's
my last plea to have you email me word suggestions.
Rod at the Buzz dot Com short break. When we
come back, reck check, Alex will tell us what's trending,
(44:52):
and then we'll go looking for some people that want
to be represented and Read my Lips.
Speaker 15 (44:57):
Whoo Busy Rock and Alternative.
Speaker 6 (45:01):
The Rod Ryan Morning Show six to ten am. The Buzz.

what time is it. It's seven twenty three. We are

suburb Summer Sizzler is back. Thank you sell Federal Credit Union.
We got League City taken on Splendora at eight twenty
so the boys will go at it coming up Sunny's
guys today, ten percent chance of rain high of ninety eight.
It's an all Ozzy Osbourne throwback Thursday, and Ozzy's biggest song,
(45:50):
Crazy Train, is in the last place.
Speaker 4 (45:52):
Interesting really?
Speaker 14 (45:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (45:54):
Wild to me? What's trending well? Sixtagram Thursday is trending well?
Speaker 5 (45:59):
Live rom I was submitted to us by Trey in
Bay City, and I know that's probably made Chile's top
ten list already. Well, I think you'd like what you
see at the web finish outs dot com.
Speaker 1 (46:10):
You know how I say that I don't like those
people that run around saying how busy they are, Like,
oh god, okay, You're like they act like they're busier
than everybody. I've been too busy to look at the
throwbacks or to look at the fix of Girl. I'm
so busy? What else? Sasabari and Cohen is trending. People
are talking about how jacked he looks now, yeah we
(46:30):
have a link up. Yeah, he's playing.
Speaker 5 (46:34):
My favorite Marvel superhero, Mefisto in the new Marvel moviep Obviously,
you guys know I love that that guy.
Speaker 1 (46:41):
Wait, what did you not see this?
Speaker 4 (46:42):

we're gonna get your trainer and a chef.
Speaker 2 (46:51):
And you're gonna be jacked by the time you're gonna
be a superhero. You gotta fit in spandex.
Speaker 1 (46:54):
Isn't he going through a divorce too?
Speaker 4 (46:56):
Isn't that very public?
Speaker 1 (46:58):

Speaker 5 (47:19):
Pam Anderson is trending as well. People were talking about
her from the premiere of the Naked Gun movie, which
I guess went down last night or the night before.
I think she and Liam Neeson shared a little kiss.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
Like I think they're romantically linky. Why do I know
this stuff?
Speaker 4 (47:34):
They left the hotel together.
Speaker 1 (47:36):
Yeah, well, but like people, they could also stay in
a hotel.
Speaker 4 (47:39):
He's hitting that at the same hotel.
Speaker 5 (47:41):
They left it the same I've left when we walked
the Buzzfest together from the same hotel.
Speaker 1 (47:46):
Whoa Alex, did he see what Tommy was hammering her with?
Come on, that's where you get the phrase throwing a
hot dog down the hallway. Maybe Liam's packing, Maybe you're
(48:07):
tying to the boys.

Speaker 2 (48:52):
That's the old me.
Speaker 1 (48:53):

hands trying to compet the amount of times you have
thrown headphones. Yeah, yes, I just bring out these things,
yes to get in and I just like I have
no ill will towards you all right? Seven one three,

their way to let us know that they went and
uh and ate there yesterday. It was great. We went,
(50:00):
we ate, it was awesome, it was cool. So we'll
talk more about it for sure. But I went to
the Paarland location with I was going at five o'clock,

Speaker 3 (01:02:58):
We're shooting back up for its one hundred degrees for
our Thursday the record high was set back in nineteen
fifty four. We hit one hundred and one, so we're
going to be pretty dang close today. Good news, though,
we're cooling off as the end of the week brings
rain tomorrow and Saturday. Do not scrap your weekend plans though,
because rain should be early.
Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
Saturday morning and it's going to be a nice day.
It's not going to warm out of the eighties on
Saturday afternoon.
Speaker 1 (01:03:21):
So the true temperature is going to be dancing right
around one hundred today.
Speaker 4 (01:03:25):
But to do it, I don't know. So hot.
Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
What is the threshold of a heat advisory. It's got
to be over ten one ten, right, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:03:32):
We haven't seen it in a minute, have we Yeah,
so it's.
Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
Still not advisory levels of heat.
Speaker 4 (01:03:36):

or Alita to tell you that we're the rod Ryan
Show is sewing you. Yes, okay, advised of how hot
it is.
Speaker 4 (01:03:47):
Do you see the sad news out of Texas.
Speaker 3 (01:03:48):
A and m their Collie mascot, the dog Miss Rev
had to have her eye removed. She had a glaucoma diagnosis,
and the university's president made the announcement yesterday, saying the
pup had recently been experiencing discomfort cloudiness in her eye
and the issue progressed. So we all know A and
M has the top veterinary teams in the state. They
decided to have surgery and found it necessary to relieve
(01:04:12):
any discomfort and remove the eye.
Speaker 4 (01:04:14):
But don't worry, Miss rev is resting.
Speaker 6 (01:04:16):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:04:16):
We'll be back attending classes and cheering on the aggies
come fall. Uber rolling out a new feature for all
the ladies. They call it their Women Preferences. Rod you
cannot choose women.
Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
Preference, I can't, okay about a woman.
Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
Women Preferences have been available for other countries since twenty nineteen,
but finally in the US, women will be able to
request female drivers, pre book trips with female drivers, and
set your preference.
Speaker 4 (01:04:43):
If you want a female driver every time.
Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
It's crazy when we have these binary restrictions. That's when
it's convenient. It's like, I can't use this option because
I'm a man.
Speaker 4 (01:04:53):
It seems us they are.
Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
Why can't I use it? I don't know, because I'm
a man? Yes, okay, we're.
Speaker 3 (01:04:59):
Going to roll La San Francisco and Detroit in the
next few weeks, expanding from there.
Speaker 4 (01:05:04):
All right, south Park making the news. This would you
say huge news today?
Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
Alex said, it's trending all morning long. I sent it
to you this morning and I said, if you're not
comfortable doing this story, I said, you did say that.
I said, if you're not comfortable doing this story, don't
do it. I have no problem talking about it.
Speaker 4 (01:05:22):
I didn't see it though, with the President's pen, I
didn't see it. Neither did I.
Speaker 3 (01:05:26):
Last night's episode roasted President Trump a lot of focus
on his wiener, but the even bigger news because it
was small. The bigger news is that they finalized a
one point five billion dollar deal for South Park and
their creators and Paramont. Paramont got streaming rights five more
(01:05:46):
years of the new show, and the deal grants Paramount
global streaming rights for the show, which is a shift
in how they currently distribute the show, and it's one
of the largest licensing deals ever for television.
Speaker 4 (01:05:57):
Those creator guys are getting paid, be nasty.
Speaker 1 (01:06:01):
Are they going to get in trouble? Is Trump going
to go after them for the portrayal of him? Full
frontal comedic cartoons, presidential nudity.
Speaker 4 (01:06:10):
They don't care.
Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
But I'm not a billionaires, so they really don't care.
Speaker 3 (01:06:13):
There was a sixteen million dollar settlement over that sixty
minute story about the president. And then there's all the
drama with the firing of Stephen Colbert.
Speaker 1 (01:06:20):
So he goes after people.
Speaker 6 (01:06:22):
He does.
Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
It's not saying that he's going to win, but I
can't see him letting this go.
Speaker 4 (01:06:27):
What if he thinks it's funny?
Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
Paramount owns obs.
Speaker 5 (01:06:30):
Right, yeah, there's a money issue with Stephen Colbert. But
they were like, here's one point five billion dollars. Did
Colbert get fired because of South Park?
Speaker 1 (01:06:41):
Which is your oh good one, Alex? Maybe maybe south Park?
Speaker 23 (01:06:46):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:06:46):
Ozzie trending.
Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
Still, the tributes continue to roll out. It seems like
everybody's feeling the loss. Even Kermit the Frog gave Ozzie props,
saying no one ever rocked harder than the great Ozzie.
Speaker 4 (01:06:56):
Kermit had a.
Speaker 3 (01:06:57):
Lot of memories of Ozzi, especially Ozzie and Miss Pa
Geese cover of Born to Be Wild you know on
the Kurmit Unpiged album, Oh yeah, you know that one?
Speaker 1 (01:07:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:07:06):
Meanwhile, really the touring musician is pulling out the tributes.
Speaker 4 (01:07:10):
Lady Gaga could play your favorite that you've.
Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
Been talking about this morning was Wolfe van Halen and
that story about how they heard about the news of
his death started busting their booties to make a performance happen,
and they nailed it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:24):
Yeah, they did Mama, I'm Coming Home. And Wolfgang said
it took them three hours to kind of get the
whole band gelling and working up the song so that
they could play it live that night. So, I mean,
that's how he wanted to honor Ozzie. And they weren't
just gonna half asset. So, I mean, Wolfy perfectionists. He
said it wasn't a perfect performance, but he said, you know,
it was what it was. I'm sure it was pretty
close to me fact. I mean, he's got genius juice
(01:07:46):
running through those fingers of his.
Speaker 4 (01:07:48):
You know those are Houston's headlines, all.
Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
Right, Astros with a wind. Yeah, they got many Diamondbacks
four to three.
Speaker 5 (01:07:55):
They've now won four in a row and a tied
for the most wins in the American League. Tonight, they're
going to open up four game series with the f
Jason Alexander's gonna be on the man for Destro's going
up against the A's Luis seven Reno first pitches at seventeen.
You can listen to that one on our sister stations,
Sports Talk seven ninety News Radio seven kh That Hee's

coming up thanks to our friends over at shel Federal
Credit Union. Chance to win five thousand dollars. And man,
it's not even close to being too late for you
to sign up. Chili still has the sign up page
on links and guests. And yes, today was only game
(01:09:01):
number one. Today puts League City against Splendora. I'm closing
out those suburbs unless there's a sub suburb of League
City and then I'd accept that, but yeah, League City
and Splendora closed out because Caden and Charles are gonna
square off in the sizzler coming up. Moe's right, hot
true temperature. We could top out ninety eight ninety nine today.
(01:09:23):
Will we hit one hundred again? I don't know. I
hope not. Sunny's Guy's ten percent chance of rain, but yeah,
heat indices it's gonna feel like well over one hundred degrees.
Thank you to everybody that went out to Willie's Grilla
and ice House. First and foremost, thanks to Willie's for
being so cool and opening up all nine stores and
letting our people go in there and order food, great food,
(01:09:47):
and giving back fifteen percent of sales. Yesterday, I ran
into Cody, he came up, We talked. He just sent
me the picture that him and I took. I went
to the Paarland location and Chili went where.
Speaker 4 (01:10:01):
We're in, Katy.
Speaker 1 (01:10:02):
Did you make it out, Alex? I didn't even talk
to you about this, Okay, So you got some willies
yesterday and the other thing that I have to say,
and I hate to bring this up because I don't
want this to happen again. I don't want it to
happen again. As I'm eating and my waiter comes over
and he said, hey, the table over there picked up
your check. It was it was a beautiful thing to do.
And it was Robin, and Robin was getting Robin's getting
(01:10:25):
ready to leave. I know it's Robin because it's Robin Williams,
another one of our listeners with a famous name. It
was a beautiful thing to do. I'm comfortable. I'm uncomfortable
like with that. I'm super uncomfortable with it. She picked
up our check so that the waiter came over and said, hey,
everything's taken care of. And I'm like, no, no, I
yelled at her. I yelled at Robin yesterday, yelled at Robin. Yeah,
(01:10:46):
but I got a picture. I'll share that. But thank
you to everybody that sent in pictures and went and Robin,
you and your family beautiful. Thank you so much. Don't
ever do that again, not with me. Don't ever do
that again. I'm the guy that buys. I don't get
bought in four Come on you. It was a beautiful
thing that she did.
Speaker 6 (01:11:05):
Thanks you so nice.
Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
By far and away, the biggest Ozzy Osbourne song Crazy Train,
no question. I mean it's been used in so much.
I mean football teams use it. That team that I
don't talk about in the Boston area, they use it.
It's a big as hit. There's no question it's in
the last place.
Speaker 4 (01:11:24):
Really, Yeah, people don't want to hear it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:27):
I guess put against I guess we picked the right
songs here. I could not include Ozzy's Crazy Train in
today's Throwback Thursday number one. I'm just glad that we're
able to use Ozzy for Throwback Thursday. I gotta deal
with Philip over here, Brother Rod, everyone in my shop
here all agrees you should talk to the radio wizard.
Ignore him. Do it anyway for Ozzy. Play all three
(01:11:51):
throwback songs, yes, in order of how they in order
of the votes. I'm like, guys, this is why you
gotta be careful. What you asked for you can't become.
You can't ask for an inch and then turn into
a yardstick. Ozzy Osbourne's Crazy Train in last place. It's
only got sixteen percent of the vote. Now everybody knows
(01:12:14):
that Ozzy Osbourne's Crazy Train. That's the great, late great
Randy Rhoades. This is Ozzy Osbourne. Bark at the Moon.
The amazing. Jake E Lee on guitar. I watched this
video with my kid. It's kind of a jekylin Hyde
(01:12:36):
type video. And this Ozzie famously turns into like a
werewolf looking character, and he had the makeup on and everything.
It's very it's very cool. She was scared, yea, it
was scared, but it was She was scared, but still
wanted to watch it. The Park at the Moon was
number one for a short period of time. It's got
forty percent of the vote, so it's very close number
(01:12:59):
one right now. And I told you guys, this is
the song that people have picked as the song when
you talk about Ozzie's passing, right, this seems to be
the song. It's the one that Wolfgang chose to do.
Wolfgang could have done any of those songs. He could
have done the Randy Road stuff, he could have done
the Jaki Lee stuff. He's that good, and he went
(01:13:22):
with this. And this is of course. Zach Wilde on guitar.
This is number one with forty two percent of the
vote right now. Yeah, Alex, you gotta vote in this.
I'm gonna go crazy Tran crazy train. What about you
over there? You voted crazy Train. What a Chili vote? Chili,
(01:13:43):
what do you vote for? I voted for Bark of
the Moon. Yeah I did.
Speaker 15 (01:13:49):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with my mom coming home.
Speaker 1 (01:13:52):
Yeah, it's number one right now. Yeah, just especially you
know after he did it as his last song.
Speaker 12 (01:13:59):
Yeah, and then when you played the lyrics, I mean
just the isolated vocals.
Speaker 1 (01:14:03):
Yes, yeah, that's god. I mean, this is the one
that it seemed like the entire stadium. This is when
they chose to do that group cry at the Farewell Show.
I mean, you know, I think he ended with it,
end with paranoid on the Black Sabbath one, and it
just didn't have the feels that this had. Ozzie closed
out his solo set the Farewell Show with this song,
(01:14:27):
and then he did the Black Sabbath song shortly afterwards.
Speaker 4 (01:14:30):
She should have done this as the last song.
Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
Yeah, I know, but he had, But he had the
Sabbath guys out there in the hometown of where Black
Sabbath came from. You had to close out with Sabbath
so and changes, which is like the one Black Sabbath
ballad was already done by Young Blood. Young Blood. Yeah,
he already had covered that. So maybe Ozzie didn't think
(01:14:52):
he could handle those vocals and he let young Blood
do that. But it was never thought of his Sabbath's
biggest song though either. So it's an All Ozzy Osbourne
Throwback Thursday.
Speaker 4 (01:15:03):
You can vote.
Speaker 1 (01:15:04):
We're recognizing, we're recognizing the Prince of Darkness here, even
though it's not in our format. It's a mean come on,
Ozzy influenced, Sabbath influenced everybody. All right, Chillie, stay right there.
You got everybody. You seem like you're in a pretty
good mood. You one read my lips. Are your people
doing what they're are they? Are they where they're supposed
(01:15:26):
to be when they're supposed to be there. Yeah, they're
ready to go. Ready, We're gonna sizzle after this. We
got League City taking Onplendora. Thanks to our friends over

Speaker 2 (01:16:41):
In bed with Satan at one point.
Speaker 1 (01:16:44):
Oh the Hall of thing so they used to put
Saddam Hussein in bed with Satan.
Speaker 2 (01:16:49):
Was dated Sayton for a little while, Okay in the movie.
Speaker 1 (01:16:53):
It's just still it's unbelievable after all these years, the
envelope that those guys push, still it's crazy when.
Speaker 5 (01:16:58):
They get away with they don't care. Are now they're billionaires,
so they really don't care. Ozzie is continuing to trend.
The outpouring of of of all the thoughts and prayers
and all of the cool like.
Speaker 2 (01:17:10):
Tributes to him, that people are doing it, that people
are released, and.
Speaker 1 (01:17:13):
Mo if you have a second. Sharon may have released
a video really yeah, Sharon may have released a video
of her talking yeah about reaction to Ozzie's passing. See
if you can find that. All right, but that's what's
Trainning and night by the Viz. So we'll play in
the game right here. Bring them on, yeah, bring it? Okay,
(01:17:35):
look at it, al What do you want me to do?
What do I do it? What do I do with

The Buzz ninety four five The Buzz basket Case is
the name of the song, and that's green Day. That
was today's song used for the Suburbs Summer Sizzler. We're

Speaker 4 (01:23:47):
I thought I was gonna have to go on a
movie fe.
Speaker 6 (01:23:49):
No, no, no, no no.
Speaker 1 (01:23:50):
Don't you remember when Adam signed that huge, massive deal
with Netflix for like six eight movies so.
Speaker 4 (01:23:57):
We be able to watch it like, yeah, tomorrow, TV tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:24:01):
My question is this is not a slam on the Sandman,
but my question on the X this morning is how
funny is Adam Sandler? How funny is Adam Sandler? Is
he very funny, somewhat funny, not very funny, not funny
at all? What are your thoughts on Adam Sandler?
Speaker 4 (01:24:21):
Mo, Well, he had his moment where he was like
the funniest guy.
Speaker 1 (01:24:24):
Have you ever seen an Adam Sandler movie? Yeah? Yeah,
don't yeah yeah yeah, Ma, we don't know what you've seen.
You've seen five movies.
Speaker 15 (01:24:30):
Here's what I want.
Speaker 4 (01:24:30):
I know, the one where he gets a kid.
Speaker 1 (01:24:33):
I don't even know the name of it. Said Daddy
day Daddy.
Speaker 4 (01:24:37):
That one's funny.
Speaker 1 (01:24:39):
What's Daddy Daycare Eddie Murphy? Okay, all right, so wait,
don't yeah, yeah, yeah me.
Speaker 3 (01:24:43):
If I ask you about movies, I've seen Big Daddy
or whatever it's called, Daddy, And then I'm pretty sure
I've seen.
Speaker 4 (01:24:50):
The one the first Billy, the Billy Gilmore, Happy Gilmore.
Speaker 1 (01:24:54):
Yeah, the Billy Gilmore.
Speaker 4 (01:24:55):
I was gonna say Billy Madison. I've definitely seen that one. Oh,
and there's one where he goes on vacation with like
a bunch.
Speaker 1 (01:25:05):
Of couples with Jennifer Aniston. Yes, that one, all right.
How funny is Adam Sandler?
Speaker 4 (01:25:12):
I would go not the funniest. He had his moment,
but now he's like, he's just that guy.
Speaker 1 (01:25:16):
Is he somewhat funny?
Speaker 4 (01:25:17):
Funny?
Speaker 1 (01:25:18):
How funny is Adam Sandlor?
Speaker 2 (01:25:19):
He's very funny.
Speaker 1 (01:25:20):
He is a multi millionaire because of his comedy. I
didn't ask about how rich he was.
Speaker 5 (01:25:25):
If you're not funny, you're not a multimillionaire because of
your comedy. So his comedy is good enough, funny enough
to make people continue to watch it.
Speaker 1 (01:25:33):
Are there horrible musical acts that are super rich. Good job, Ron,
Yes there.
Speaker 5 (01:25:39):
Are well, no, that's not even Adam. Adam Sandler is
very funny. Okay, all right, I'm standing it's very he's
being rewarded for he may not always be hits right,
and he is a very funny guy.
Speaker 1 (01:25:51):
He's being compensated as well as he is because he's
so funny. Yes, okay, I'm gonna go with somewhat funny.
I just don't think I love the Sandman like everybody
worships him. I don't. I didn't grow up watching these movies.
As a matter of fact. I just it's just him
and Johnny Depp when they do different voices as stupid voices. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
(01:26:12):
I don't know. Forty five percent of our audience thinks
The Sandman is very funny, forty seven percent somewhat funny,
and then it just drops off four and a half
percent not very funny, three percent not funny at.
Speaker 2 (01:26:27):
All, not finning at all.
Speaker 1 (01:26:28):
Wild is wild, But but I had to give you
the option. That's what they're talking about on the X
at Rod Ryan Show. This is a heat advisory. This
is a heat advisory.
Speaker 18 (01:26:40):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:26:40):
Men are advised to drink water. Women should wear tiny clothes.
Speaker 11 (01:26:43):
How hot is that?
Speaker 1 (01:26:44):
Rod Ryan ninety four or five? The buzz, Good Morning,
rod Ryan's show, Sublime and what I got? We played
that brand new Sublime song. We got one more spin?
Is that the last spin that we have? That brand
new Sublime song with Bradley Nol's son Jacob now on
lead vocals. I don't know. It's just it's gotten a
(01:27:07):
great response. I sent Radio Wizard all the emails because
we played it in homeroom in the six o'clock hour,
and then even got about ten emails the people that
heard it for the first time in ninety percent approval
rating on the new Sublime. He sounds just like his dad.
Everybody's got basically the same comments too. So what is
the future hold after Friday with that new Sublime song?
(01:27:28):
I don't know. I don't know, but you guys have
done a great job of championing that It's it's you
guys are the reason that that song was able to
get a little bit more life than one spin. Your reactions,
and when I talk about how you guys have so
much control over what is played in the music, you
have all the control over what's played on this radio station.
I promise you. I mean that, I do mean that.
(01:27:51):
Allie's your boy. Bobby Jokes sent me a link his

but he put together a blog page and he asked, hey,
would you include this with all your other links today?
And I said absolutely.
Speaker 5 (01:28:33):
So, you know, it's a really cool organization that his
girlfriend and her two friends started and they wanted to
just kind of repurpose clothes because they were talking about
how many clothes end up in landfills and the last
two times they've done it with it wasn't this is
a kid's one, but they were just regular clothes, non
kids ones, and they were at capacity to where they
(01:28:53):
had to have a line out at the door and
they can only allows so many people in. So now
they have this huge space that they're using. They have
blown up over the last two years. It's crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:29:02):
It's Sunday, August third, between noon and six, and then
there's tickets. So he's he's he put together a really
good blog page and you can get your tickets online.

The Optimist?
Speaker 4 (01:30:03):
I thought he was the Transformer Optimist Prime. I have
a lot I'm waving a lot ron every day.
Speaker 1 (01:30:14):
I see that. You see that for teaching me alternative
income nine ten chance to win one thousand dollars calling
in reverse tickets on the show. The winning Ozzy Osbourne
song Mark at the Moon is back in the lead.
It's an all Ozzy throwback Thursday today. This is fun
(01:30:37):
to watch this one for sure. You got three great
Ozzie songs, three different just monster guitar players too. It's
representing three different eras of Ozzie's career, so it's pretty great.
We can't lose with playing an Azzie song today at
nine thirty Right now, I got mo can't lose all of.
Speaker 4 (01:30:58):
Them with me.
Speaker 1 (01:31:00):
Ma, We're Houston, said lights.
Speaker 3 (01:31:02):
Heat Dome is the word words of the day. We're
shooting back up towards one hundred degrees for our Thursday.
The record high set back in nineteen fifty four was.
Speaker 4 (01:31:10):
One hundred and one degrees.
Speaker 3 (01:31:12):
But the good news is we're cooling off at the
end of the week. Okay, Tomorrow is Friday. Tropical downpours
blow in for Friday and Saturday. Do not scrap your
weekend plans. Saturday's rain is supposed to occur earlier in
the day, meaning we may not warm out of the
eighties for our Saturday, so it could end up being
an awesome day.
Speaker 1 (01:31:30):
Could I tell you something please? I just want to
be honest with you. Tell us all we're new, right, yeah,
we're still new.
Speaker 4 (01:31:35):
We're figuring things up.
Speaker 1 (01:31:36):
I knew it today was tequila Day and I didn't
say something to you yesterday about it.
Speaker 19 (01:31:40):
What do you hate me?
Speaker 6 (01:31:42):
What did I do to you?
Speaker 1 (01:31:46):
You would want to bring in tequila?
Speaker 4 (01:31:47):
Love celebrate? Today is my day.
Speaker 1 (01:31:50):
I didn't know giving her birthday?
Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
Basic.
Speaker 1 (01:31:52):
You tell me how much you love tequila? I put
it on you. You should know when your days?
Speaker 4 (01:31:56):
Yeah, I should. I'm putting it on my calendar. I'm
probably gonna get a tattoo.
Speaker 1 (01:31:58):
It's national tequila. You're rude, Okay, you.
Speaker 4 (01:32:02):
Owe me one?
Speaker 1 (01:32:02):
Actually? Yes, yes.
Speaker 4 (01:32:07):
A Friday.
Speaker 3 (01:32:08):
Yesterday, a judge sentenced Bryan Coberger to serve life in
prison for the brutal stabbing desks of four University of
Idaho students Can nearly three years ago, and the more
and more headlines we read out of yesterday's hearing, the
more and more. I just ough it gave families of
victims the opportunity to describe the anguish they felt since
their loved ones were killed, and their words were broadcast everywhere.
Speaker 4 (01:32:30):
Extremely moving.
Speaker 1 (01:32:31):
The families didn't hold back.
Speaker 4 (01:32:33):
No, no, those I'm glad they got their minute.
Speaker 1 (01:32:35):
They call them impact statements, And apparently anybody in the
family can get up there. If you want to take
the mic and just tear into the sky, you're allowed
to that they did. One of the sisters just talked
about what kind of treatment he's going to get I'll
leave it at that in jail, and what he's going
to face.
Speaker 3 (01:32:52):
And the judge kind of ended things saying, this guy's
fifteen minutes of fame are over.
Speaker 4 (01:32:55):
Let's never talk about him again.
Speaker 3 (01:32:57):
I'm going to put them away forever, removed from civilized society.
Speaker 4 (01:33:01):
Goodbye.
Speaker 3 (01:33:02):
Apple rolling out some new emojis with the latest iPhone update,
and they always seem to make the news when they
do this because there's a whole outside organization in charge
of which emojis.
Speaker 4 (01:33:12):
Make the cut.
Speaker 1 (01:33:13):
This is from the Emoji movie. By the way, this
music is it?
Speaker 2 (01:33:16):
Oh good?
Speaker 4 (01:33:16):
Yeah, thanks for letting me know they take suggestions. No idea.
Why in the hell they picked these ones because trombone
is the new iPhone emoji trump But.
Speaker 1 (01:33:28):
I told you these all lend themselves to young people
and they will use that. It won't It will never
be used as a Hey, don't forget your trombone for
band practice today.
Speaker 3 (01:33:38):
You think it's going to be the new eggplant emoji
or something. Hey, trombone and.
Speaker 1 (01:33:44):
Truly's favorite move is the rusty trombone. If you want
to google something today, mo.
Speaker 3 (01:33:51):
I google a lot of weird stuff during Good morning,
Rusty rusty trombone, make that down, Orcas are on their landslides,
and Bigfoot.
Speaker 4 (01:33:58):
Finally you're gonna have.
Speaker 5 (01:33:58):
A band one of those aide emojis.
Speaker 4 (01:34:03):
Now you have one.
Speaker 1 (01:34:04):
Bigfoot's coming home today.
Speaker 6 (01:34:05):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:34:05):
Kind of sad, okay, because the story of the drowning
death of Malcolm Jamal Warner is getting more heartbreaking. We
heard he was on family vacation right in Costa Rica.
He was swimming in the ocean, caught up in rip current, drowned.
Costa Rican officials are now saying he was swimming with
his eight year old daughter when the accident occurred. The
daughter was rescued by a surfer, but after forty five
(01:34:27):
minutes of CPR, they couldn't save Malcolm. He did keep
his family life super private and you want to respect that.
But our hearts just break for them and continue to
think about them. And while we're continuing with morbid stuff,
let's talk about Ozzie's funeral. He talked to his family
and he dine a lot of interviews about kind of
what he wanted for the ceremony, and he had a
(01:34:47):
cool take about the whole thing. Ozzy Osbourne gave his
family permission to do whatever they wanted, whatever makes them happy.
Funerals are for the living. He said, I honestly don't
care what music is played at my funeral. You can
play a medley of Justin Bieber, Susan Boyle and Weird
diddy Man.
Speaker 4 (01:35:04):
If that makes you happy.
Speaker 1 (01:35:06):
What is it? What's the third one?
Speaker 4 (01:35:07):
Weird the Diddiman is a like weird British comedian thing. Okay, nonsense.
Speaker 1 (01:35:12):
So he didn't care what you played at his funeral.
Body whatever, But didn't he seriously have a suggestion, he.
Speaker 4 (01:35:17):
Said justin Bieber. Okay, yes, the Beatles song, he said,
maybe a day in the life.
Speaker 1 (01:35:25):
He always wanted to do a collaboration with Paul McCartney,
and he met Paul.
Speaker 4 (01:35:29):
Yeah, and they didn't didn't work it.
Speaker 1 (01:35:31):
They didn't get a chance to do it. But yeah,
that would have been a big deal for Ozzy had
he That's the one thing I think if you think
Ozzy Osbourne, you gotta think everything's checked off his scorecard,
right thing. But yeah, he wanted to do something with
one of the Beatles, and I don't think he ever
got a round to doing it.
Speaker 3 (01:35:48):
We're going to celebrate. It's not going to be a
mote fest. Those are his wishes. He also said it'd
be funny to play a video of him asking his
doctor for a second opinion.
Speaker 2 (01:35:59):
Would funny.
Speaker 3 (01:36:00):
The headlines of Ozzie continue to roll out, and we're
posting all of them up on our blog page.
Speaker 4 (01:36:04):
Those are Houston's headlines, just.
Speaker 1 (01:36:05):
Because I am challenged. I haven't seen one person talk
about this. What that son of a bitch had great hair.
I mean, Ozzy didn't lose one hair from what he sang.
What he's sang on the first Sabbath album sixty nine.
The guy had a great head of hair. Man always sorry,
I got nothing good, dude, no hair. Ozzie died with
(01:36:28):
a great head of hair. Put that on tombstone.
Speaker 5 (01:36:31):
Astro's got another win yesterday they got by the Diamondbacks
forty three. They've now won four straight and tied for
the most wins in the American League. Tonight they're going
to open up a four game series with the A's.
Jason Alexander's going to be on the man for this.

Speaker 1 (01:37:59):
My question was the onion grid, onion rings.
Speaker 5 (01:38:01):
We did fries, we did hush puppies, we did mansa sticks.
Speaker 1 (01:38:06):
Nice. Yeah, thanks to Willie's Grilling, ice House. Big day yesterday,
great food. I met a bunch of great people out there.
You and Chili went for lunch, yes, Katy location, I

(01:38:26):
into it all, buddy, when don't you?
Speaker 2 (01:38:28):
That's true? H Yeah, Episode six twenty six is up now.
Speaker 5 (01:38:31):
But we talked about what the worst concert to get
caught cheating would be at not including cold play, so.
Speaker 2 (01:38:37):
Like what would be the most embarrassing possible.
Speaker 5 (01:38:40):
Then we talked about which superhero could have best prevented
nine to eleven. We power ranked old guy phrases and
talked to a little Ozzie and then we uh, there's
always a question like would you kill baby Hitler if
you could go back and kill baby Hitler? And then
we were asking like would that make you the worst
guy ever? Because butterfly effect, they'd be like this guy
just killed a baby.
Speaker 1 (01:39:00):
We didn't know he was hit a really back. Yeah, okay, dude,
that was a baby, Like so we know all kinds
of stuff like that.
Speaker 5 (01:39:06):
We talked a little about Ozzy's death and you can
check it out The world thing I tried write and
show page the best that.
Speaker 1 (01:39:11):

I mean, how'd we do?
Speaker 18 (01:45:02):
So?
Speaker 1 (01:45:02):
Yeah, I don't know. I won't know probably for a
little bit. I don't know how long it takes to
go through all those receipts, nine stores and all of
that stuff, you know, but they'll do the right thing.
Willies is awesome, you know what I mean. They came
to us, they wanted to help out. I don't know
if they've signed on the dotted line for nor have
I announced that we're doing a golf tournament in October,
(01:45:23):
but I'm letting you know. We're doing a golf tournament
in October. And the Willi's Grill and ice House hole
is always like the place to be, So thank you
to anyone that went out. Now Here, I go back
to my same old spiel. Now the Rob Ryan Show
care store. There's a couple of weeks left. That's it.
I'm done. I'm pulling the plug. We're going to pass
(01:45:44):

(01:46:20):
Ozzy Osbourne, We've been talking about it all week. He's
been trending every single day. Ozzy Osbourne passed away. If
I would have told this story, I wonder if it
would have changed the outcome a little bit. Maybe not.
I'm just gonna tell you, Mama, I'm coming home. Did
not win. Really, it did not win. Do you have
(01:46:41):
time for a quick story though you need it? Ozzie
didn't well. Ozzie's always written as Ozzi. He's always put
in as a co writer. Okay, Like, if you want
to hang out with Ozzie, you got to put him
down as a co writer. Sharon works that deal out
for everybody. Let Me from motor Head wrote this song, Okay,
let Me's one of my all time face. Him and
Ozzie were tight. Tight, Him and Ozzie were tight. Lemmy
(01:47:04):
from Motorhead played his last gig in Berlin on December eleventh,
twenty fifteen. He died on December twenty eighth, seventeen days
after the last time that Lemmy was on stage. Lemmy
died seventeen days after his last gig Ozzy. Ozzy went
down July fifth. I'm sorry. The back to the Beginning
(01:47:27):
show was July.
Speaker 4 (01:47:28):
Fifth, his last show.
Speaker 1 (01:47:29):
His last show was July fifth. He died on July
twenty second. Let Me was his best friend? Tell me
was one of his best friends. Seventeen days event, seventeen
days after Ozzy played his last show. Just like Lemmy,
he died. These guys went down like warriors, swinging exactly
(01:47:50):
the way that they wanted to go. There's a very
famous quote of Ozzy in twenty twenty three when he
didn't know if he was going to get to play again,
and all he wanted to do was play one final show.
He kept talking about it, but his health was so terrible,
and he said he was hoping for one last show.
He said, if I drop dead the day after, I'd
die a happy man. He said that. Seventeen days later,
(01:48:12):
like his friend Lemon, just got goosebumps all my whole
bumb Ozzy Osbourne Crazy Train thirteen percent of the vote, Mama,
I'm Coming Home thirty seven percent of the vote. And
Crystal is going to hear this song for the first time.
Apparently Ozzy bark at the Moon with the great Jakie
Lee on guitar forty nine percent of the vote. That's
your winner today, Mom, it's so bad Thursday, whatever the
(01:48:33):
hell that is?
Speaker 24 (01:48:35):
Oh, here's your throwback Thursday winner on ninety four five
the bushscoling, this.
Speaker 1 (01:49:02):
Is a enough, it's.
Speaker 15 (01:49:17):
Part of the moon.
Speaker 1 (01:49:32):
Still to tell me that it isn't as Grady's what
he said? Mary coming up.
Speaker 6 (01:49:42):
To say, up one of the lod.
Speaker 1 (01:50:18):
This time the south.
Speaker 6 (01:50:31):
Where you wait.
Speaker 1 (01:50:36):
So still? It's so hot. I put sunscreen on my
(01:52:55):
eye cream. What you say, sunscream? The Rod Ryan Show
of ninety four or five, The Bud benety four or five,
The Buzz three eleven and down, Ozzy Osbourne nineteen eighty
three bark at the Moon Jakie Lee. That was when
Jakie Lee took over as guitar player. And the video.
(01:53:18):
Chili does put up the videos. I always forget to
mention this when you do your voting. He always puts
the videos up. If you want to refresh yourself, you
know the YouTube link. He puts the videos on there
if you want to refresh yourself with the song. So
like Crystal was saying, man, all the great Ozzie songs,
I don't know this bark at the Moon song, and
it won. It was Ozzy's first video. It's kind of
a Doctor Jekyl and Mister Hyde thing. I don't know
(01:53:40):
how many hours of he's in the chair, the makeup chair,
but it's Ozzie's best video by far. It's Ozzie's best video.
But I mentioned Jakie Lee. Ye, Jakie Lee took over
for the late Randy Rose. Randy Rose passed away and
Randy Rose was a like a an Eddie Van Halen,
virtuoso guitar player, and he died at a young young
agent a plane accident. So Jakie Lee is this hot
(01:54:02):
young guitar player teenager probably at the time. Jakie Lee
wrote that song. Okay, but Sharon Osborne, he's a young guy.
He's like, you're playing for Ozzy. Now here's a piece
of paper. I want you to sign this to say
that you didn't write it. We're gonna give Ozzie credit
for writing all this stuff. What people signed stuff like
that back in the day, and Sharon, Sharon was the
(01:54:25):
head of that. Sharon led that she wanted she did
anything to prop her husband up, and she did what
a manager does. And Jakie Lee said he was kind
of forced to sign this. Let's say he's nineteen. You're
the guitar player for it.
Speaker 2 (01:54:40):
You get to be a part of that.
Speaker 1 (01:54:41):
Correct, You're the guitar player for Ozzy. Sign this piece
of paper. There's a buy out involved. It's a ridiculous,
like low, an absurd low amount of money. And Jakie
Lee signed it because he wanted to be the guitar
player for Ozzy. I was surprised to see Jakie Lee
at the Farewell show. One final note on this is
I just I just opened up an email, so let
(01:55:02):
me think I was. I was surprised that Jakie Lee went.
I think he's I don't know that he's over it,
but I just got an email here from August Newman,
he says, Rod, I know him a little late. Here
are some pictures of my trip to Birmingham for the
Back to the Beginning concert. Went he went, He sent
(01:55:25):
me a bunch of pictures.
Speaker 4 (01:55:25):
Are the pictures insane?
Speaker 6 (01:55:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:55:27):
I have so many questions.
Speaker 1 (01:55:28):
I'm so lucky to have had a chance to go
and obviously see the last performances of Ozzie and Black Sabbath.
I was lucky enough to meet jake E Lee at
the airport on my way home. He's got a picture
of the guy I'm talking about. That is him and
Jakie Lee at the airport. Boy, does that guy have
some stories? Wow? Thank you for the pictures. I'll send
(01:55:49):
these over to Chili. We'll put them up.
Speaker 4 (01:55:50):
We shove lunch sometimes.
Speaker 1 (01:55:52):
That was really fun. Thank you Wizard for letting us
do an all Ozzy throwback Thursday. It was the right
thing to do. It's fun. Then he trusts you guys.
That's why we're able to do the fun things that
we're do. You guys, promise you're not going to turn
the channel off or switch or push a button when
we're doing stuff like that. What do you doing on
know the show? We what did we not give away yet?
Speaker 3 (01:56:13):

Speaker 1 (01:57:12):

so much a game, but it's it's a way for
you to kind of prove that you you listen to
today's program. Yeah, And I just told Mo the only
instructions I gave her, ask something that happened today on
the show, and at any point it could be homeroom
seven o'clock, eight o'clock, I don't care. Something we just
