scattered showers. Highs of around ninety three. There's a lot
going on. Good morning, mo, Good morning ride. Which you

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Happy birthday, Ah, thank you Rod, thank you. In other news,
the excitement of playing for.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
A colossal powerball jackpot is back because no one won
last night. Wow, we've now climbed to eight hundred and
fifteen million dollars. If you're keeping track, the cash payout
would be three hundred and sixty seven point nine million.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
The drawing did.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Produce several significant winners, including one right here in the
Houston area that.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Matched all five white balls.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
To win one million dollars. The next drawling will take
place tomorrow night. Did you get the alert on your
phone about the bomb squad working in Memorial Park? Happened
yesterday morning. The HPD bomb squad responded to the park
yesterday as part of a World War One artillery shell
(03:05):
was found in the woods.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
Yes, so that land that Memorial Park now sits On
was once a military training base and they used that
as part of Camp Logan, according to the Conservacy, And
they said they were clearing out some of that land
and crews found the object and called in the bomb squad.
They did conduct a detonation, which I found very fascinating
(03:30):
just right there. The once police said there was never
a threat to the public. What they were extra careful
and you never know what you're going to find when
you're looking through a base like that.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Isn't that cool?
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Wild?
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Happy National Dog Day go.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
Forty percent of Americans have a dog. In comparison, that's
thirty two percent of people have cats. Okay, so dog
owners are winners. A lot of people have both. But
if you just look at pet owners. Of the seventy
four percent that have a dog, there is some overlap.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Fifty of those people also have a cat. Have you
ever had both time?
Speaker 1 (04:06):
I've never owned a cat.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Does that work out?
Speaker 1 (04:08):
I don't know. I just can't be around him either. Sorry.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
In honor of the holiday, a new poll found that
most people acquire their pup from a friend or family member.
Shelters come in second on that list, which makes you
feel good, But the big difference there was that cats
usually come from a stray situation. But back to dogs,
the study also looked at different size dogs.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
You see what our favorite is big dogs?
Speaker 1 (04:33):
One over? Yeah, Voo's of mid size.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
You know I have a middle sized dog, Voos.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Fifty pounds that's mid size. Yeah, yeah, same. Did everybody
submit a picture of their dogs for the blog page today?
Do that?
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Bernard got stung in the face yesterday and he's like
a little swollen. We all know he's on his last
leg anyway, so it was bit or missed yesterday.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
All dogs, everybody get a picture of the on that
blog page.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
What are you going to do about Chili? Well, do
you have a family photo.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Picture of all nine of them in one picture?
Speaker 3 (05:02):
I hope? So, okay, let's talk about it. Upset the Rogan.
He loves his fans so much that he might just
smoke a little weed with him. What a hero?
Speaker 4 (05:14):
What's on a podcast with Ben Stiller and Seth said,
sometimes people come up to him and it just feels
like a really special moment for that fan.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
And if they ask him, he said, you know what,
sometimes he'll just take a couple of hits with him
when he feels like smoking.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Also, can you imagine like you just walking around He's like, oh,
I can get high right now?
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Sure, hey, set I will.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Also sometimes I like to drink with people when they're like, hey,
I like, do you want a drink?
Speaker 6 (05:38):

Speaker 3 (05:38):
You know what, I feel free. I'll do it for you.
You're a hero, deal for you.
Speaker 1 (05:43):

five thousand dollars and said the rapper must attend an
(06:07):
outpatient drug rehab program because they do believe he was
using drugs at the time of the incident.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Those are Houston's headlines.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Take it, Alex.
Speaker 5 (06:16):
The Texans announced yesterday that running back Joe Mixon will
not be activated from the non football injury list by
today's three pm deadline. That means that he's going to
be ineligible to play in at least the first four
games of the season with the ankle injury that signlined
him through all of the preseason. He rushed for over
one thousand yards and eleven touchdowns for the Texans last season.

Probably, uh huh. Simone Biles is trending goat. She says
that she has not ruled out competing in the twenty
twenty eight Olympics. Stop it in La. It would be
her fourth Olympic Games. She competed in Rio, Paris, and Tokyo.
People are obviously hoping to get to see Simone Biles
compete in the US in an Olympics.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
She's already the goat.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
She's already the goat.
Speaker 5 (13:28):
If she did it again, it would just be like
Michael Phelps on his last run.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
Like the second most dominant run of his Olympic years
was the final time.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
But you'd still expect her to be at a super
high level.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
You don't want to twenty eight. You don't want to
ruin what you've you know what I mean, what you've built. True,
you're the greatest of all time, Like.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Nothing else to prove, do you?
Speaker 1 (13:49):

if she can compete. Why is she doing it?

Then listen how you gonna how you can just tell
her no, that's the killer.
Speaker 5 (13:56):

Day champions, two crazy games, and let me tell you
it could be rocky all week. Join me on Wednesday
when I make it win number three.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Did you hear that? Did you hear hell flapping his
gums in the middle of that victory speech? Can the
guy have a moment here in the sun. I'm working
on the shine. What are you doing? It's the guy's
victory speech? All right, well, I'm happy for Kevin. Interesting
games this week. That's that's funny to me. How much
Mo likes that drop?
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Not because it's the first one that's made me laugh.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Right, I wish you got that excited about old Greg
when you came in. All right, here we go. It's
got funk.
Speaker 12 (23:50):
That's the day we make you look smart and funny,
your buddy, it's the fun.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
That's the day. Here we go with some fun facts.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
Now, listen, my guy Alex over here still recognizes Pluto
as a real planet.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
I do.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
I had to learn it, test with it.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
Not, I'm gonna say it's not.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
It takes two hundred and forty eight years for Pluto
to orbit the Sun.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
That means between the time Pluto was.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Discovered in nineteen thirty then named a planet that Alex
now recognizes still it was eventually declassified and demoted to
a dwarf planet back in two thousand and six. In
the time that it was discovered till it was demoted
to this very day, it has not even.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
Made it halfway through one orbit. It's a long time.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
It is a very long time.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Yeah, Carrot's gonna kill me one day. Carrots.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
If I go down, it's gonna be because of a
baby carrot that I didn't true enough, and I'm just
by myself in my kitchen and dipping it in hummus,
and then I'm just gonna drop. Carrots originally were several colors.
The most common was purple, but Dutch farmers in the
sixteenth century bread red and yellow carrots to make orange
(25:15):
ones since it was their royal color, and those became
the standard.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
Whoa, I say, we go back to purple. Amen, I
have seen those.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Yeah, yep, finally, maybe I should have led with this one.
Frogs give it up for frogs. Shot outs. Frogs usually
mate with the equivalent of orgies. That's neat, and the
males just say, don't get caught up in the wrong
(25:53):
situation here. Sometimes they temporarily change colors so the other
males won't try to mate with them during what is
quite a chaotic scene for the maybe.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
I feel like I've heard that before. I make the
noise of that happening.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
Really, Yeah, were you in when you heard that? Gets
the fun?
Speaker 12 (26:13):
Back to the day? We make you look smart and
every buddies, it's the fuck back.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
To the day visiting some friends and what formerly was
called Saana Plantations where they were talking about the frog orgies.
Fragi's frogie.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
You were gonna say it, Alex, I got in there
before you a fragie.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
Hey, what are you giving away?
Speaker 3 (26:37):
We've got blue October tickets.
Speaker 4 (26:38):

Please. Uh mo e, good morning, Happy birthday, rod Ryan.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Thank you. I just wanted to ruin that other most
you did to day. Hey, what do you got for
Houston's headlines?
Speaker 4 (30:41):
Well, the excitement of playing for a colossal powerball jackpot
is back.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
The tenth largest jackpot in powerball history.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
Has now climbed to eight hundred and fifteen million dollars,
which is a cash payout of three hundred and sixty.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
Seven point nine million.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
Because no one won last night's strowling, but the drawing
did produce several significant winners, including one here in Texas,
right in the Houston area, matched all five white balls
to win one million dollars. The next drawling will take
place tomorrow night.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Did you make your guy go get your husband? Did
you make Austin go get a ticket?
Speaker 3 (31:13):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (31:13):
When he travels to like small towns for work. Yeah,
when he's out of town, he picks one up. That's
our strategy.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
But when I asked my question, I was very specific.
Did you make him go get a ticket or does
he kind of do that? He's kind of thing, he's
kind of into it. Yes, okay, yes, okay.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
I didn't know if you wanted a ticket, but you
wouldn't go get one and you make him go get it.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
I also never have cash, and don't you have to
have cash to buy a lottery ticket. I think so,
I think so too.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
I don't really know.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
Don't do it that often, all right, Crazy story kind
of developing yesterday a former researcher at the cancer center
is accused of trying to steal cancer related research and
take it to China. So according to the Harris County
DA's office, this guy was charged with theft of trade secrets,
which carries a penalty of two to ten years in
(32:02):
prison finds up to ten thousand dollars. He was also
charged with tampering with a government record. The backstory is
pretty wild.
Speaker 3 (32:08):
We don't have time to get.
Speaker 4 (32:09):
Into all of it, but as of late, the guy
was detained as he was trying to travel to China.
On July ninth, he posted bail, bonded out yesterday, had
to surrender his passport as a condition of his bond.
Crazy story happening right here here because it's like a spy.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
Story and it's happening in real time.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
Really but oh yeah, oh interesting, Yeah, there are still
spies are hard.
Speaker 11 (32:33):
Name.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
Why does this song feels so good right now?
Speaker 9 (32:38):
Rod?
Speaker 4 (32:38):
You kind of called this next story it's about the
era of Joshus.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
Oh yeah, we have a lot of Josh's that call
in and interact with the show, and it's hard to
keep them straight.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
There's research to back this up.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
Back in nineteen eighty five, one out of every one
hundred babies born were named Josh.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
And now the Joshes are rising to power.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
It's happening politics, sports, pop culture right here on.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
The Rod Ryan Show.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
And as it stands, the presidential election, the next one
could be Josh versus Josh because both the Republican and
Democrat candidates potential candidates are named Josh. Three of our
governors Josh is Buffalo Bills quarterback, Oh Josh Allen, Yes,
likely to be the MVP, maybe even the Super Bowl winner.
(33:23):
Josh Seller's wine top selling wine, and the current number
one box office chart topper it's called weapons, number one
actor Josh.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Well, listen, I celebrate all of our josh Is here.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Wasn't there a battle of Josh's meeting and the Josh
in their Thank What were the guys that got together
and had a battle somewhere and one of our guys
drove there?
Speaker 1 (33:49):
Yeah, I thought it was a meeting of the Josh.
I thought it was a Josh Josh is your time
and then ended up winning. You know, it was kind
of like one of those you know the name of
it too, What is it when they fake fight.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
Reenactment?
Speaker 1 (34:03):
No bar was playing, no LARPing, LARPing playing, Yeah, something
like that. There was some kind of a josh off
and one of our guys made the drive love y'all.
Speaker 4 (34:14):
I think so, Hey, allegedly we're in the golden era
of television.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
I think that's true.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
You think so.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
There's lots of options out there today.
Speaker 4 (34:22):
When you have someone with their favorite TV show is
it's a lot more broad than it used to be.
Brian Cranston Walter White from Breaking Bad was just named
the greatest TV performer of the twenty first century.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
Oh, how do you feel about that? I know you're
a big tony soprano guy.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
Not even on the list.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
What absolutely wait wait wait wait wait, sopranos are not
on the list.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
A strong contender.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
The two guys.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
From the Serrano's not anywhere in the top fIF Give
me the top five.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
Brian Cranston from Breaking Bad, Julie Julie, Louis Dreyfuss from Veep,
John Hamm from Mad Men In, Steve Correll from the Office,
and number five was Carrie Coon, who plays Nora Durst
on The Leftovers.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
I don't know that show either. We're talking like, well,
three of your guys are in the top five.
Speaker 5 (35:11):
Yeah, Michael Scott, I wouldn't have put it in that
just because like character development and stuff like that, Like
you literally watched Walter White break bad. Don Draper is
a pretty complex guy.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
They're leaving They're leaving Tony Soprano off this list just
so that to upset me. Why people like that.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
Guys like the biggest Grune songs of the nineties and
we leave off smells like teen Spirria.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Well, Rod, I started like Walter White.
Speaker 5 (35:33):
Doesn't exist, if Tony Sapana doesn't exist.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
I agree with that.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
Ye'all should have made this list.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
We should have. Oh my god, what is this? What
is it?
Speaker 3 (35:41):
Rod?
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Tell me?
Speaker 3 (35:41):
He shot me everything I know?
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Oh, this is a K pop demon Hunter. Yeah, this
is so big in my house right now. This is huge.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
A Netflix animated musical and it rule all. That was
a TV show, right, yes, right, it started out as
a two show.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
The other stuff with it well for some reason, and
they put it in a movie theater.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Box Office is over the weekend.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
So Netflix usually keeps most those things on the streaming service,
but some of their movies you get special runs in theaters,
and this was one limited sing along release over the weekend.
Brought in eighteen million dollars, even though it wasn't in
every theater.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
It was limited limited. But these songs are huge and
that is the story.
Speaker 4 (36:23):
The soundtrack just became the first ever to have four
simultaneous top ten hits on Billboard's.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
Top one hundred. It is K pop demon Hunters.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Yeah, the songs are infectious. It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
My kids sings this all the time, sing it rock.
I can't, but this song is sung in my house daily.
Speaker 4 (36:44):
They put together a list of all of the top
soundtracks that have also done well, but Saturday Fever Saturday
Night Fevers number one on the list. Waiting to Exhale
actually had five top ten hits on the Billboard Top
one hundred. Yeah, a great soundtrack to them all up
on the website. Those are Houston's headlines.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Grease. It's on the list, the Grease movie soundtrack.
Speaker 9 (37:06):
It was big.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
Oh you guys aren't here yet with your kids?
Speaker 3 (37:11):
Huh oh, thank god.
Speaker 5 (37:12):
I had a baby shower over the weekend and all
the older kids were singing a song.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
Yeah, so that is how I recognize it. They don't
get sick of this stuff. They just want to it's
on repeat, all right? What you got?
Speaker 5 (37:26):
Texans announced yesterday the running back Joe Mixon is not
going to be activated from the non football injury list
by today's three PM deadline, which means he's going to
be ineligible to play and at least the first four
games of the season. He's got an ankle injury he's
been dealing with all off season. He rushed for over
one thousand yards and eleven touchdowns for the team last season.
Nick Chubb and rookie Woody Marks are expected to carry
(37:46):
the load and Mixon's absence, but they've also got Damian
Pierce and dare Agon Bawale on the roster as well.
All thirty two NFL teams are going to cut their
rosters down to fifty three players by three pm this afternoon,
So you're gonna see some random like fifth round, sixth
round trades for certain players that were gonna get cut
but they didn't want to have to deal with them
on waivers. You can see a lot of random like
(38:07):
quarterbacks trading around. But it just just three pms. The deadline.
Three pms the deadline today in baseball, as Rosie, you're
back in action tonight to open up a three game
series with the Rockies at dyik In Park, Hunter Brown
to be on the mountain for the Stros going up
against Colorado's Tanner Gordon.

Speaker 1 (39:07):
You make cupcakes.
Speaker 4 (39:08):
Today's your birthday. Thank you, And a little Birdie told
me you had a favorite kind of cupcake. I know
you don't usually do sweets, but I heard you like
carrot cake or do you like carrot cake? Well, I've
never made carrot pick cake before and I'll never make
it again.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Why what happened.
Speaker 9 (39:25):
Now?
Speaker 1 (39:26):
Full disclosure. I also I also have never made carrot cakes.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
I do not easy.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
You don't do a lot of baking.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Yeah, watch Tiffany Ambertheesen did us.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
She was that was I'm telling you, that was the
smartest thing she's done in years. She really got back
into the she got back into the news cycle. Yeah,
Tiffany amberthees And she was kind of naked behind a
carrot cake.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
You couldn't see her her bits, but you imagine.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Yeah, she inspired me.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
Okay, so it was difficult. It's hard to do.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
Yeah, you have to like actually great whole carrots.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
Yah, there's real there's carrots and carrot cake. I think
that's what keeps it some mois.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
I thought you could like maybe buy them like that,
not the cakes.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
You had to shred carrots to make these carrot cake. Yeah, cookcakes.
Speaker 4 (40:12):
And I had to brown butter for this unique frosting
that I made for you, which might be the best thing.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
I've ever made my entire life.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
So there's good and bad.
Speaker 3 (40:21):
Correct, So it was. It was a labor of love.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
Right.
Speaker 3 (40:25):
They were hard to make, very hard to make, but
I think worth it.
Speaker 1 (40:28):
When do I get a cook it?
Speaker 3 (40:29):
What time is too early to you to cook it
on your birthday?
Speaker 1 (40:32):
Never?
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Okay, I'll cook at them a minute.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
The carrot cake is I mean, this is a fight
on the show. It's been going on for years.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
This is your day. I'm gonna let you have it.
What's the fight, Alex? I think the carrot cake is
not a good cake. I think it's like lower tiers
of cakes. Rod thinks it's the best cake. I think
that's the worst take ever.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
It's the moistest cake. Translate that's just wet. Well, it's
not fair. It's wet, not moist, it's just wet. No,
it's not. It's wet.
Speaker 3 (41:04):
Different my life, I've always kind of considered the same thing. No, no,
do you like your carrot cake with nuts or without nuts?
Speaker 1 (41:12):
Either?
Speaker 3 (41:12):
Both?
Speaker 1 (41:13):
I love them. I love it.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
It's the most moist and it's also proper to say
the moistest, moistest.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
Both work, Both are proper.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
English We've learned that on the show over the years
as well. Yeah, I listen, I love me some trace
late Chase.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
That's just three milks. It's a wet cake. It's just wet,
you know. Like that's like telling me the bread pudding
is moist with a sauce all over it, You know
what I mean? All Right, thank you.
Speaker 3 (41:44):
Try.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
I look forward to uh, look forward to that.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
It's two days in an We've gotten to eat on
the show, and I like that a lot.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
This is fun.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
You can take a short break coming up. I want
you to think about this. I'm just gonna plant the
seed coming up. I don't know this guy, but a
country guy was up on stage and he's doing a
show and he's kind of making it clear that bad
behavior is not gonna fly at his shows.
Speaker 1 (42:07):
Somebody chuck something on stage, show's over.
Speaker 8 (42:11):
Now.
Speaker 1 (42:12):
Do you have to tough it out for the rest
of the crowd or is it within your right as
the artist. It's like, I'm done. I'm not gonna stand
here and have something thrown at me.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
I want to get into that a little bit, because
I mean, I listen, if I'm the guy and I
didn't throw it, tough it out, man. I'm paid for
tickets here, but I want to get into that a
little bit.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
On the show.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
We've got tickets to go see Shine Down coming up,
and I guess we've got the the mo cupcakes.

Speaker 11 (43:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Am I allowed to do it?
Speaker 3 (43:12):
It's your birthday?
Speaker 1 (43:14):
What is this one? Right? Just take one from here?
Speaker 3 (43:16):
Yes, I don't know if it's nuts or not nuts,
if you have an allergy.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
I'm interested in the frosting that you said that you
were very happy about its frosting.
Speaker 3 (43:23):
I've ever made brown butter cream cheese.
Speaker 2 (43:26):
And that's the other thing about the big argument right
now is you know, Rod your your love of carrot
cake is ridiculous. It's not only the cake is the
most moist or moistest, but it's that cream cheese frosting.
It's not overly sweet.
Speaker 3 (43:41):
Yes, it's superiod.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
That's super sweet frosting that's on some of these things.
It's like, ask you the Knie coming at me with
red velvet.
Speaker 1 (43:48):
Get out of here. You're not even in the cake.
You're not even in the ballpark though.
Speaker 3 (43:52):
Cake.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
It's not even a top five You might be right
on that. What's trending over there?
Speaker 3 (44:00):
A national dog gang is trending.
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Shout the Voodoo.
Speaker 5 (44:04):
We got a link up, Wheezy, all of Chili's dogs,
the whole gang over there, the Chile's. But yeah, everybody's
uh celebrating their dog today. So give your dog some pats?
Can we have oop all from the Morning Show especially.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
We have a link up? And then did everybody send
a picture of their dog too?
Speaker 5 (44:23):
I'm sitting right now. Okay, Starbucks is trending. The pumpkin
spice latte is bats. They waited for your birthday, Rod,
so you can take a carrot cake cupcake and then
go get your pumpkins spice lata.
Speaker 1 (44:38):
Oh this is so good. God. Yeah, so looked up.
Speaker 3 (44:43):
And then US Open is trending.
Speaker 5 (44:45):
People talking about the US Open Major in tennis that's
going on right now in New York City.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
That is what's trending A night.
Speaker 1 (44:52):
By the bus. This is the best frosting I've ever
had in my life.
Speaker 3 (44:54):
Same, the best frosting, no flex I'm hand made it.
Oh my god, this isn't it delicious? I know it's
just the same.
Speaker 2 (45:02):
Cupcake is ridiculous. This is like a gourmet something like
even a like a high dollar at a store.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
So good.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
I told my husband last night, never asked for carrot
cake because I will.
Speaker 4 (45:12):
Not make it.
Speaker 1 (45:14):
Thank you so much, ocoming, thank you.
Speaker 3 (45:18):
Let's make someone else's day, can we?
Speaker 1 (45:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (45:20):
I want to talk about concerts coming up and bad
behavior at concerts. We're gonna get into that. I don't
want anybody behaving poorly Wednesday night. These are our friends, Okay,
shine Down Bush. I don't know Morgan Wave. I'm sure
she's lovely.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
You're gonna love her. She is lovely.
Speaker 1 (45:37):
But you have some tickets.
Speaker 4 (45:38):
I do ahead, Shine Down Wednesday, Toyota Center Plus we're
throwing in a mini show. Posters signed by Shineedown. If
you're collar ten right now, we're hooking you up. Seven

Speaker 1 (45:53):
Chili wouldn't eat my pizza yesterday? Is he gonna eat
your cupcake?
Speaker 3 (45:56):
He did eat?
Speaker 1 (45:57):
Did?
Speaker 3 (45:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (45:59):
Why don't?
Speaker 1 (46:01):
I brought in my chicken pizza yesterday? He wouldn't touch it.
Speaker 3 (46:03):
He's in a good place today and he ate the cupcake?
He did?
Speaker 1 (46:06):
You son of a bitch?
Speaker 8 (46:07):
All right?
Speaker 1 (46:08):
Call Chilly now seven one.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
The Rod Ryan Show Mornings on.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
Bus ninety four The Buzz three days Grace and just
like you, mother, that cupcake was the best.
Speaker 3 (46:24):
I love that you loved it. That cupcake was so goodday.
There's twelve more where that came from.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
Everyone has to email her because that's the greatest. Did
you try one yet? And yeah, it's the best frosting
I've ever had.
Speaker 3 (46:37):
It's I woke up my husband and all the night
try it.
Speaker 1 (46:43):
Try it so good.
Speaker 5 (46:45):
So good.
Speaker 3 (46:45):
Thank you. I'm glad you like it. Happy birthday, thank you.
Speaker 1 (46:48):
Just to be clear, yes, Chili, have one.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
Chili ate one of my cupcakes. Yes, that's so bad
for him.
Speaker 1 (46:55):
And then chicken.
Speaker 3 (46:56):
Hear it?
Speaker 1 (46:57):
The chicken pizza, which is actually healthy, tons of protein.
He wouldn't. He wouldn't touch it. Chili. Is that what
happened here?
Speaker 3 (47:07):
You didn't came am strong?
Speaker 1 (47:09):
You eat my pizza yesterday, but you ate most cupcakes.
Speaker 8 (47:12):
Well, I mean the pizza.
Speaker 10 (47:14):
I had pepperoni, which and the cheese which is grease,
and it would have just gone right through my stomach.
Speaker 8 (47:21):
So I couldn't have that the cupcake. First of all,
First of what has happened was that frosting was the best.
Speaker 3 (47:32):
Ridiculous, isn't it good?
Speaker 8 (47:35):
Frosting brings all the boys through the yard?
Speaker 1 (47:39):
It is amazing. It was good.
Speaker 8 (47:40):
But yeah, it was good.
Speaker 10 (47:41):
Actually, I'm gonna go over there and get about a
couple more cupcakes.
Speaker 8 (47:46):
Your pizza. I'm sure it was good because Rod knows
how to cook.
Speaker 2 (47:51):
But it was healthy pizza. Sneaker before. He knows how
to do sneaker before. That's another story for another time.
All right, thank you, chilling over to the phones of here.
Speaker 1 (48:01):
Good morning, rod Ryan Show, Good morning, Good morning. Hi.
Who's this David David? Your caller number ten?
Speaker 4 (48:10):
Awesome, David, You must have a really good life, because
Wednesday night you're just gonna get.
Speaker 3 (48:16):
Up and go to the toy To Center and go
to this awesome concert.
Speaker 1 (48:18):
Spoken like a parent. Oh, you can just pick up
and go on Wednesday night. Who Shine Down?
Speaker 3 (48:23):
It's the Dance Good Dance Tour.
Speaker 4 (48:24):
Bush, Morgan Wade Wednesday, Toya Center plus David, because we

Down Awesome.
Speaker 1 (48:33):
Thank you so much, guys, Thank you for hanging out.
Thank you David. Have a great day. Okay, dude, thank
you so much. Do dude.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
A couple of people have emailed you, guys, knew that
I wanted to talk about this. First of all, has
anybody been at a show, a live concert, where maybe
something happened in the middle.
Speaker 1 (48:55):
Of the show and the artist said, I'm out of here.
Has that ever happened to you? Never? Axel Rose was
having some trouble with the November rain. He was having
some trouble with the piano. This is when they first
got back together and they played Energy might have been reliant,
(49:15):
and I thought, oh my god, this is it. Ax
was gonna get up and walk off the stage. Yeah yeah, yeah,
but this is kind of But he didn't. He didn't.
He didn't. He dealt with it. Braxton Keith see a
big country guy.
Speaker 3 (49:29):
He's definitely up and coming. It sounds like an ann stop.
He's good.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
Played Friday Night in Oklahoma and he ended his set early.
So we're not fully sure, but there was a lot
of eyewitnesses that claimed that a beer was thrown towards Braxton.
Keith cut the show short, walked off with his band.
(49:54):
This is what he said to the crowd. Now, most
of y'all are behaving yourself, but there's a bunch of
people up here that are having a good time, and
then there's a bunch of beer throwing. Listen, calm down.
I don't come to any of y'all's jobs and do
anything like that to y'all. So until you all can
(50:19):
learn some concert etiquette, my name is Braxton Keith. Thank
y'all for coming out to Ardmore, Oklahoma tonight. He and
his band left the stage. Do we all agree it's
within his right that if something is thrown at him
during his set, I'll leave it open ended. Is it
(50:44):
okay for him to leave in the middle of the
show like that. Something was thrown in his direction a
beer That.
Speaker 4 (50:48):
Sucks, But it does sound like something else was going on.
There was a lot of ruckus to the point where
maybe he didn't feel safe. You don't want to just
be dodging beer cancer whole set.
Speaker 9 (51:02):
I do.
Speaker 1 (51:02):
This has been a thing lately.
Speaker 10 (51:04):
Was it like a.
Speaker 1 (51:05):
I mean, I don't know if it's a Doja cat
or a bb REXA or a or what else. Somebody
got clocked with a cell phone in the head. Oh yeah,
and that show was over.
Speaker 12 (51:15):
You know.
Speaker 4 (51:16):
I remember the Nicki Minaj video. She was I want
to say Vegas and it was a water bottle.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
You rex hit with the cell phone?
Speaker 1 (51:23):
Okay, didn't somebody throw something at Cardi B and she
whipped the microphone at him. I got hitting the dick
with a lemon.
Speaker 3 (51:35):
Someone threw it at you. How do they have a lemon?
Speaker 1 (51:38):
It was that you know those lemonade things where you
like squeeze the lemon.
Speaker 3 (51:41):
Lemon shakeup in the like in the mall.
Speaker 1 (51:44):
I don't know why they thought that would be a
good thing to have at a festival.
Speaker 3 (51:47):
Won't let us have a cap to a water bottle,
but they'll let us have a lemon.
Speaker 1 (51:51):
Yeah, not anymore. It was before tool and I was
walking off stage and I'm like all right, and I'm
like I'm walking off stage. I'm waving everybody cool. I
got like in half is their video? The world saw it?
The world saw it.
Speaker 3 (52:04):
I'm sorry that could be you, but you know what
I mean. Like you shouldn't have to worry about that
when you're on stage. Like I kind of feel for.
Speaker 2 (52:10):
This kid, Chad MC. I went to a big music
festival sam Houston Race Park many years back. On one
of the side stages, there was a band and the
singer encouraged people to throw water bottles, empty water bottles
and as much stuff as they could on stage.
Speaker 1 (52:23):
It was truly a spectacle and it was kind of
cool to see.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
The next band goes up there, one person throws a
water bottle and that person pitches a fit. The crowd
started to boo because of that, and they just happened
to follow that other band and that made it more
difficult for them. Where Kid Rock became kid Rock, he
was already kind of an up and coming guy. But
before the Woodstock ninety nine, Yeah, Woodstock, Yeah, before Grandpa
(52:47):
got mad, long before Grandpa got mad. Woodstock ninety nine.
I was there and Kid Rock said, I want to
see every and he made it clear, I want to
see every empty water bottle in the house. This is Woodstock,
one hundred thousand people and it was. It was the
coolest thing ever. And there's there's footage you can go
look that up kid rock on stage and just water
bottles and some of them had water on him too,
(53:08):
but he encouraged that that makes it tough for.
Speaker 1 (53:10):
The next band. Yeah, I've seen bands. I'm trying to
think who did it then? Papa Roach? Ever do it?
Did they tell people to throw money to give to
that they were going to give it to the crew?
I don't remember. People were like humming change and stuff.
People were humming money on stage while the band was playing.
(53:31):
I just don't think you should encourage people to throw anything.
Alan brother Rot I saw smashing pumpkins back in the day.
Someone threw a shoe at Billy. He said, that's it.
They walked off stage. Shows over.
Speaker 2 (53:44):
I'll agree that it's within their right, but boy does
it suck whoever threw that thing?
Speaker 1 (53:49):
And if you're ruined the show for me, everybody gets.
Everybody gets to kick you in the balls, like you.
Speaker 2 (53:55):
If you find the guy, you line him up outside
and then everybody that has to leave her, everybody gets
one kick right in the square, right in the nards.
Can you imagine being the guy responsible for ending the
show early?
Speaker 3 (54:08):
Yeah, you're probably not realizing though. How do you probably
get a certain point in your So.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
How do you feel about Brexton Keith saying that said,
I'm done.
Speaker 3 (54:16):
I have a feeling it was a safety issue.
Speaker 1 (54:18):
He had to go. You mad at him, Alex, No,
I'm glad. I'm right, I'm glad I'm not at the show.
Speaker 5 (54:26):
Or is it?
Speaker 1 (54:27):
Hey, do you play live? That comes with the territories?
Blah blah blah? Is it that you know? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (54:34):
It's just if somebody ruins it for you, right, God,
it's the worst. So don't throw stuff on stage.
Speaker 1 (54:42):
That's it. There's about ten other recent examples that I'm that.
Speaker 2 (54:45):
We're not se that we're not stating right now. There's
a bunch of this as of late. I just remember
the cell phone, the bb rexit on the cell phone.
Hit it right in the half, you know she, I
mean she had she put up pictures of her bruising
and everything else.
Speaker 1 (54:57):
Not cool. It's your cell phone? How get home?
Speaker 3 (55:01):
How would you you think that the artist is going
to take a selfie and send it back. No, you
knocked her out with it? Goodbye?
Speaker 1 (55:07):
All right. Reminder, don't act a fool, have a good
time at the live shows. No throwing stuff on stage.
The fall of summer has become.
Speaker 9 (55:19):
If you were listening to The Ron Ryan Show on
ninety four five, The Buzz ninety.
Speaker 2 (55:24):
Four five, The Buzz, Good Morning, Rod Ryan Show, three
eleven Beautiful Disaster. Yeah, people reminded me of some of
the things that we've posted in the past, of artists
never encouraging it, but we have posted things.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
Drake also famously got hit by a phone.
Speaker 2 (55:39):
Harry Styles got hit by something recently in a concert
that we had posted that footage. We're talking about the
horrible practice of throwing things on stage at a live concert.
A country guy just ended a concert early after somebody
tossed the beer I had.
Speaker 1 (55:54):
This will tell you. This will tell you how close
it was.
Speaker 2 (55:57):
It wasn't at a concert, but Marty Grass and I'm
on my float going through the streets of New Orleans
and I saw it just passed right in between Jason
and myself.
Speaker 1 (56:06):
A Miller Lite came between us.
Speaker 2 (56:08):
I think maybe somebody was trying to give us a
beer or whatever, but I mean it came humming past
our heads. That would have hurt, That would have hurt,
A full can of beer that would have really hurt.
It went right past our faces. That was scary, and
then I just thought about this. I know, and maybe
people that are a little bit older. Back in the seventies,
(56:29):
like Len Zeppelin had a problem. People would throw fireworks
on stage back in the seventies. Yeah, and here's a
great example, and I'll leave it here once again.
Speaker 1 (56:39):
Don't do this.
Speaker 2 (56:39):
It was wilder back in the day. Aerosmith has a
live album. It's called Live Bootleg and I looked it up.
It came out in nineteen seventy eight.
Speaker 1 (56:47):
You can hear during the live concert. You can hear
what they would call cherry bombs. I don't know if
they were maybe they were m eighties or what they
make it into the recording. People would throw fireworks on
stage at concerts in the seventies. It was a pretty
common thing. In Zeppelin had to deal with it and
(57:10):
yell at the people. But you can hear fireworks going
off in the live recording on the Aerosmith album if
you listen carefully.
Speaker 2 (57:18):
I don't remember which song, but you can actually hear
them going off. Do not throw things at performers when
they're on stage. You couldn't blow the whole concert for everybody.
Speaker 13 (57:27):
The Rod Ryan Morning Show six to ten Am.
Speaker 1 (57:30):
The Buzz ninety four to five.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
In the Buzz Welcome Back rod Ryan's Show, Suburb Summer
Sizzler Money Games MO winner goes to the Final four
Cay and just by making it to the final four,
you get two hundred and fifty dollars cash. Will it
be the Heights or will it be Channelview eight twenty.
Speaker 1 (57:52):
I'm here for it.
Speaker 2 (57:54):
Speaking of twenty twenty percent chance of scattered showers today,
fifty percent chance tonight, high of around ninety three. The
Boobs Rock Golf Tournament. All the information. Chili's got that
up on the world famous rod Ryan Show blog page.
A bunch of you have already signed up.
Speaker 1 (58:09):
It sells out.
Speaker 2 (58:11):
I mean, we're very lucky to have you, guys, and
so many generous people that listen to this show. I'm
just telling you, if you want to play in the
Boobs Rock Golf Tournament, don't wait.
Speaker 1 (58:21):
Don't wait. It will sell out. Okay, I don't take
that for granted. I'm just I want you to play.
Speaker 2 (58:26):
If you want to play, don't wait, ball I'm gonna
get together with my guys maybe next week or something.
It won't be available, all right, So I want you
in this year sign up at the buzz dot com
mos Scott Houston's headlines.
Speaker 3 (58:39):
Yes, good morning, Happy birthday, good morning, thank you.
Speaker 4 (58:42):
The excitement of playing for a colossal powerball jackpie is back,
because right now, the tenth largest jackpie in Powerwall history
just climbed to eight hundred and fifteen million dollars.
Speaker 3 (58:54):
After no one won last night's drawing.
Speaker 4 (58:56):
That cash payout, if you're keeping score, is three hundred
and sixty seven point nine million. We did produce several
significant winners, including one here in the Houston area that
matched all five white balls, winning them a million dollars.
Speaker 3 (59:10):
The next drawling will take place tomorrow night.
Speaker 4 (59:13):
The HBD bomb Squad responded to Memorial Park yesterday. Part
of a World War One era artillery shell was found
in the woods. Crew found the object while they're prepping
for construction of Memorial Groves, which is actually during World
War One where Camp.
Speaker 1 (59:33):
Logan was, So they dug this thing up.
Speaker 4 (59:36):
Yeah, so it was a military training base. Of course
they're going to find some things, they said. They conducted
a detonation and there was no threat to the public,
but it was a very fascinating headline yesterday in.
Speaker 1 (59:48):
The news that's amazing to me. I thought so too,
so cool.
Speaker 4 (59:52):
National Dog Day yes today, and we are celebrating around here.
Forty five percent of Americans have a dog, compared to
thirty two percent who own cats. Many have both, but
there is a little bit of overlapping dog and cat
people out there.
Speaker 1 (01:00:08):
Focus on the dogs.
Speaker 3 (01:00:09):
It's their day.
Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
We don't talk about cats.
Speaker 4 (01:00:12):
The new study was done by a pet food brand
that did compare a lot of back and forth, but
we love our dogs. The pole looked at different sized
dogs and where people are getting their dogs.
Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
I found it fascinating that the.
Speaker 4 (01:00:27):
Most people in this survey acquired their pups from a
friend or family member that needed help or had found astray.
Second place on where you're getting a dog is from
a shelter, which makes.
Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
You feel good.
Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
I like to say that I didn't rescue vou woo
rescued me. That's good, Sorry, Alex, I did that for you.
Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
People say that.
Speaker 1 (01:00:51):
That infuriates Alex. This dog rescued me.
Speaker 8 (01:00:54):
And the dog rescue is just.
Speaker 5 (01:00:58):
Used very loosely for something that wanted to get a
dog rescue rescue a dog from fire, that's rescuing it.
Speaker 3 (01:01:03):
If you just were like, Hey, I feel like getting
a dog.
Speaker 1 (01:01:06):
That's adopting a dog rescued voodoo, don't worry about it.
Speaker 3 (01:01:10):
What if you've gotten it from a breeder? What do
you consider that?
Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
That's not so got it dog certainly not rescuing.
Speaker 3 (01:01:14):
Doesn't feel like rescuing.
Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
Dinah couldn't only have a certain type of dog, did
the Golden She needed a gold golden Doodle, And there
isn't a lot of those getting, like, you know, giving
away for free. So she didn't want to talk about
the fact that she went out and bought a dog.
Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
Like you can't even controversially, you can't say out, yeah,
if you want a certain kind of dog, you should
be able to get whatever kind of dog you want.
Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
I agree with you on that. Coming from someone that
did rescue.
Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
Weezy was technically a rescue too. She just rescue from
Craigslist that I got for free.
Speaker 1 (01:01:43):
So yeah, adopted. She's like, yeah, let's not talk about
that I bought my dog. I don't want it.
Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
Yeah, And people found out and it's like, you can't even.
Speaker 1 (01:01:50):
Tell people you bought a dog.
Speaker 3 (01:01:51):
Now, No, it's the thing we all our.
Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
Somebody's upset at this conversation right now.
Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
Sorry, sorry, don't email us.
Speaker 4 (01:01:59):
Let's talk about suff for him, because who can't hate this? Well,
Dan Patrick could so. Rogan loves his fans so much
he says he'll smoke weight with them. During a recent
podcast he was on with the Ben Stiller, says sometimes
people come up to him and just be like, hey,
you want to smoke, and he said it's not uncommon,
and sometimes, especially if he feels like it's going to
(01:02:19):
be like a really special moment for a fan, he'll
do it.
Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
He said, I'll take a couple of hits.
Speaker 4 (01:02:24):
Can you imagine the story if your friend told you, oh, yeah,
it's all Seth Rogan and we smoke together.
Speaker 3 (01:02:29):
I wouldn't believe him.
Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
I would freak out. You don't know what's in there.
Speaker 3 (01:02:32):
That just a risky, risky thing to do.
Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
It's like when somebody offers you a gummy or something.
It's like, what's in that thing? I'm just saying, I
love that for you. I'll take one from mo.
Speaker 1 (01:02:43):
I love that for you. Okay, but I don't know
what's in that thing. Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
Yeah, you're not opening it from a package from a store.
You're just like, hey, I just rolled this.
Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
You want to smoke it with me? What's in it?
Speaker 3 (01:02:56):
Be safer? Seth Rogan protect yourself, but he.
Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
Says he occasionally does it so with fans.
Speaker 4 (01:03:02):
Can we talk about lilas X. Sorry, he had a
big day yesterday. Grammy winning musician back Winning appeared in
court yesterday.
Speaker 3 (01:03:10):
It pled not guilty to four felony charges.
Speaker 4 (01:03:13):
Authorities said he assaulted police officers who found him walking
naked in the streets of la The judge that bailed
to seventy five thousand dollars and said the Old Town
road rapper must attend an outpatient drug rehab program because
they believe he was using drugs at the time of
the incident. Those are Houston's headlines.
Speaker 1 (01:03:38):
Get your guy in order over there. I know that's
your guy free, that's your guys all legends, Okay, get
him in order, get his stuff in order.
Speaker 5 (01:03:48):
Trying to hang out, trying and have fun. Guys can't
have fun anymore. The Texans announced yesterday that running back
Joe Mixon won't be having a lot of fun. He
will not be activated from the non football injury list
by today's three o'clock deadline. That means he's going to
be ineligible to play in the first four games of

h R looking oh yeah, sitting in on him. Every
time Chili has somebody in the room with them. Last
time it was Bobby Jokes. It's like, is it bring
your son to work? Days? Now people think that there's
(01:06:14):
an HR woman in the room with Chili. Are you

it's HR.
Speaker 1 (01:06:36):
Oh what's that?
Speaker 8 (01:06:38):
What's that sign that you have to do with your hands?
Speaker 3 (01:06:41):
You need help? Yeah, you're in a situation and you're assistent.
Speaker 1 (01:06:45):

Are you okay?
Speaker 8 (01:06:49):

Speaker 1 (01:06:50):
Well okay, well that must not be an HR check.
Speaker 8 (01:06:53):

Speaker 10 (01:06:55):
She is part of her digital department, okay, and she
helps out So she's just kind of shadowing, you know,
to learn a little more and stuff in case, great
I happen to be out or you know, something like that,
in case I happen to be sack or something like that,
and then uh, yeall need somebody.
Speaker 8 (01:07:13):
So we like to prepare for the worst.
Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
Yeah, like if he goes into like a diabetic coma
for beating most cupcakes.
Speaker 1 (01:07:20):
Oh yeah, I'm not.
Speaker 8 (01:07:23):
It's gonna sound dirty, but mo, your cupcakes.

Thank you?
Speaker 1 (01:07:28):

Speaker 8 (01:08:08):
Got a call right now, Marissa, So I'm coming to you, Marissa.
Speaker 1 (01:08:11):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (01:08:12):
I know she's like a teacher.
Speaker 10 (01:08:13):
She works at a school, so I always call her
closer to the game because she might have to step
out of a meeting or something.
Speaker 1 (01:08:19):
So she's like teaching in the middle.
Speaker 8 (01:08:23):
Multi tasking girl. That's how you got to teach days.
Speaker 1 (01:08:26):
Okay, dude, go do your thing, Go do your thing.

little birthday treat. I've already had a cupcake. I imagine
there's gonna be some kind of a sweet later PSL.
I could never just sit there and enjoy that and
think I'm doing something good for myself. Pumpkin, You're not
doing that.
Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
No, I did.
Speaker 4 (01:09:07):
Last time we talked about it, I got some suggestions
people emailed in and gave me like ideas of things
I should try instead. So I can still say on
trend because I am hashtag basic.
Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
Boba t is super bad for you too, right, I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:09:21):
Know about super bad happy balls.
Speaker 1 (01:09:24):

of awesome. You get like a really big straw, like,
oh yeah, it's like the largest straw of all time. Yeah,
it's got the cool like plastic top that's.
Speaker 3 (01:09:37):
Like flurries should have.
Speaker 1 (01:09:39):
Yeah, it's really great. It's but again, I don't want
to do that that much either. I don't need it.
Speaker 8 (01:09:45):
I don't need it.
Speaker 3 (01:09:47):
Your birthday, any anything you want today. You can see
the days your.
Speaker 1 (01:09:51):
Day, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
I don't know how else to set this up. Thank
you Shell Federal Credit Union.
Speaker 1 (01:09:58):
I've been yammering on and on and on for what
seems like months about six thousand dollars. We're gonna finally
start peeling away some of that cash.
Speaker 2 (01:10:08):
The winner today, we're gonna give you a little taste, okay,
just the taste of what could be to come. Either
Rafa Rafi Rafael right, Rafa he goes by, or Marissa
Rafa's from the Heights, Marissa's from Channelview. We'll talk about
their journey here coming up, and somebody gets a taste
(01:10:30):
of that six thousand dollars. Somebody goes moves into the
final four and puts two hundred and fifty bucks in
their pocket.
Speaker 1 (01:10:36):
All right, all right, that's all coming up after the break,
Stay with.
Speaker 13 (01:10:39):
US Houston's Rock, Houston's Alternative and the Rod Ryan Morning Show.
Speaker 1 (01:10:45):
Let's go Rod Ryan's Show, Welcome back. All right, it's
eight nineteen. We're gonna get into the suburb Summer Sissler
money Game. Alex. First, we find out what's trending out there?
Speaker 5 (01:11:01):
Yeah, National Dog Day continues to trend, like sharing pictures
of their pooches.
Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
We have a link up a happy National Dog. Yes
we do.
Speaker 2 (01:11:09):
So we have a National Dog Day link up. And
then I think all of our dogs are featured on
that page. You want to go see our mutts. Yeah,
I'm looking at Chili Dog. I'm looking at for an arc.
He's seeing the snow voodoo a little snaggle too. Yeah,
she can't put all those teeth in her mouth. She
can't close her mouth and contain the teeth.
Speaker 5 (01:11:27):
NFL cuts are trending right now. It is roster cut
down day. So they had the Rogers at ninety in
the preseason. You got to cut it down to fifty
three guys. You're seeing some familiar names. They're getting cut.
They're gonna have to go through waivers and then maybe
some of the other teams.
Speaker 1 (01:11:41):
I saw a guy, I don't know if this is
a big story. I happened to just see it.
Speaker 2 (01:11:44):
It was a guy had been in the like a journeyman,
and he said, nothing hits like that airport beer after
you've been.
Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
Did you see that hard? Okay, So it was everywhere yeah, yeah,
so you could tell the guy had just left the
facilit getting on a plane to go home and and
just sitting there at the bar having a beer, tweeting, right,
and then you.
Speaker 5 (01:12:07):
Gotta just figure out what's next. Yeah, you see if
you make it on our practice squad, see if you
can go another route or anything like.
Speaker 1 (01:12:12):
That, like am I gonna continue to try to be
a quarterback? Or am I gonna go sell vinyl siding? Yeah?
Speaker 8 (01:12:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:12:18):
And then K Pop Demon onters is training. We talked
about that earlier today. It is the first soundtrack to
score four simultaneous top ten hits. It was just in
theaters this weekend, and yeah, it's blowing up right now.
Speaker 2 (01:12:30):
It was weird because it's been on Netflix for a bit,
and then they just said, let's throw it in theaters
just to see if we can get some people to
come out and make it a sing along.
Speaker 1 (01:12:38):
And they did. They got they made money doing it.
Speaker 3 (01:12:40):
That's what's training. And iyvide the buzz.
Speaker 1 (01:12:42):
All right, let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
Summer Summer Sizzler brought to us by Shell Federal Credit Unions.
First of all, let's check in with Marissa because she's
like teaching and she's always like she needs she's got
a short window here, Marissa, good morning, Stay, good morning.
Speaker 6 (01:12:59):
I'm out of the office today, so we're good there.
Speaker 1 (01:13:03):
Okay, that's good. Listen. You have been a favorite since
you came out of the gate with Alison Chains. You
got the song in like three seconds.
Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
You won the first match up, your second matchup, Buddy
Holly Weezer three seconds.
Speaker 14 (01:13:20):
She has general she has guessed the songs to get
here's chicking.
Speaker 1 (01:13:26):
Don't tell me that.
Speaker 4 (01:13:27):
Don't tell me that.
Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
Tell me I'm too good. Then I'm not going to
do that. No, No, you're doing you are doing great now.
Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
Rafael has been playing great as well. Rafael, welcome back. Hey, Hey, thanks,
Marissa's representing Channel View. Rafael is representing the Heights now.
He played in his first matchup and I think the
guy got it wrong. It might have been the pod boom,
so we were like, we don't know much about RAFFI.
Then he just got a pass. He just just slid
(01:13:56):
into the sweet sixteen. But he made it into the
Grade eight because he got it was vood by Godsmack
and it was like two seconds superseding. His official time
was two point two seconds.
Speaker 3 (01:14:09):
You're killing Marissa.
Speaker 1 (01:14:10):
That is faster, Marissa. Marissa is clocked in on both
her songs at three seconds. I just want to say, Rod,
I was doing some homework.
Speaker 10 (01:14:19):
Y'all have the suburb similar Sizzlers for day three posted,
so just you.
Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
Know, wait, wait what don't we hear it?
Speaker 9 (01:14:27):
I was.
Speaker 1 (01:14:28):
I was online logging who did what song on what
days this morning and I cannot find day three.
Speaker 3 (01:14:33):
She's been doing some research.
Speaker 6 (01:14:35):
Gave me that song, you said, Boom pod you got it?
Speaker 1 (01:14:38):
Okay, yeah, okay, Well now you know so prepared. So
the thing about giving up those songs going to help me.
But you know, so it's not going to be po
D boom unless Alex repeats.
Speaker 4 (01:14:52):
This is a new strategy though I didn't even think
about it for the first time for Marissa.
Speaker 1 (01:14:56):
All Right, the winner goes into the final four.
Speaker 2 (01:14:59):
The winner gets too hundred and fifty dollars on their
way to getting an additional five thousand dollars Raffi in
the heights. You're ready, yep, Marissa, channelview Are you ready?
Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:15:14):
It's the twenty fifth matchup in the brackets game twenty
five Suburbs Summer Sizzler. I love it shout out your
name when you think you know the title of the
song and the band mo.
Speaker 1 (01:15:28):
Are you listening carefully? These are two three second people
here all right? Yeah, okay, here we go, hurry, get
it together, good luck. Here comes your song in three
two one cover Rafa Cranberry Zombie. Yep, move Cranberry Zombie.
Speaker 3 (01:16:04):
Yeah, don't even be mad. He did say the band
name first in the song I lost me said both.
He said both, doesn't matter what order.
Speaker 1 (01:16:13):
I agree with you on that, it does not matter
the order. Both correct.
Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
I'll be said both before I get an email. That
was insanity.
Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
That was crazy, Marissa, Yeah, that was just Marissa. You
have played lights out, Oh my god, insanely close, insanely close, Marissa,
you've been great.
Speaker 1 (01:16:35):
I hate seeing you go. You've been playing great.
Speaker 3 (01:16:37):
I love you.
Speaker 4 (01:16:40):
All right.
Speaker 1 (01:16:40):
Byel Rafia in the Heights.
Speaker 2 (01:16:46):
Two hundred and fifty dollars, he's got to be a favorite.
Speaker 1 (01:16:50):
Now you're two games away. Yeah, he's the only guy
in the final four, so fast, two hundred and fifty dollars.
You are a couple of games away from winning five
thousand dollars. Now, all right. I didn't even ask you
guys about practicing and stuff. What's your schedule being like, dude,
(01:17:11):
are you are you still continuing to you know, keep
your instrument warm? Yeah, every single day I'm on the radio.
I work in the truck, so radios on all the time.
Speaker 5 (01:17:22):
I've always said, damn everything I don't know, So I'm
definitely practicing.
Speaker 1 (01:17:26):
Our truck drivers. I love every single one of you.
Nobody gives us more listening time than those guys and
gals in the trucks. Dude, congratulations, two hundred and fifty
bucks is yours on your way to five.
Speaker 11 (01:17:42):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:17:43):
Great game today, dude, great game for a guy that
slid through on the first round, but he's proven that
he belongs there in that final.
Speaker 13 (01:17:51):
Four.
Speaker 1 (01:17:52):
Guys, it's money every day. It's money every day. We
play the game. Now this week, here's here's your song, Rafael.
Speaker 2 (01:17:59):
It's the craw Berries and Zombie Suburb Summer Sizzler only
on ninety four or five, The Buzz.
Speaker 1 (01:18:08):
Ninety four or five, The Buzz, Good Morning, rod Ryan Show.
Speaker 2 (01:18:11):
This is Cranberries and Zombie rod Ryan's Show. Jilli Tomorrow
another money game final, Well, we're in the grade eighth
Winter Tomorrow goes into the final four, but we have
to give tomorrow's winner two hundred and fifty dollars.
Speaker 10 (01:18:26):
Who's playing tomorrow is going to be Michael from clear
Lake taking on Tenneth from Humble or Umboo.
Speaker 2 (01:18:32):
Okay, clear Lake and Humble battle it out tomorrow in
the suburb summer Sizzler.
Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
It's weird to think about. We're getting into the I
mean way way inside of the brackets here. We play
this week Labor Day weekend, and then Julie, do you
know we come back, We come back. We played Tuesday
and Wednesday.
Speaker 8 (01:18:52):
Yeah, I think Wednesday is going to be so Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (01:18:58):
I believe Tuesday. Wednesday is the last game where we
give away the money.
Speaker 10 (01:19:03):
It might be Wednesday or Thursday, okay, one of those
two days, but for sure.
Speaker 8 (01:19:07):
Okay, so we'll come back Tuesday, and.
Speaker 10 (01:19:09):
It's gonna be uh against Rafa who just played today.
We'll face whoever wins, either Michael or Kenneth.
Speaker 1 (01:19:18):
I love it.
Speaker 8 (01:19:18):
I'll go to the final.
Speaker 1 (01:19:20):
You can see the brackets and all the things, and
some guy chimed in who is playing.
Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
He's like, yeah, you bet your ass, Rod. I need
to know what I keep track of what songs are used.
He goes, you guys have never reused.
Speaker 1 (01:19:30):
A track during the sea.
Speaker 3 (01:19:32):
Yeah, onto you I know that.
Speaker 2 (01:19:37):
Okay, listen, Three things you must see today. Nobody ever
clicks on that link.
Speaker 1 (01:19:43):
A squirrel.
Speaker 2 (01:19:44):
A squirrel ran out on the field at a Red
Sox Yankees game on Friday.
Speaker 1 (01:19:49):
That squirrel has his own baseball card. Wait, yeah, yeah,
yeah yeah, Tops added. Tops added the card to their
website over the weekend. The front of the card is
an action shot of it running and the caption says
it's nuts.
Speaker 2 (01:20:03):
Furry friend, furry friend takes the mound at Yankee Stadium.
They listed the card at eight ninety nine. It immediately
sold out, so the squirrel card is no longer available.
But it's a real squirrel that ran out on the field. Also,
Happy birthday mother Teresa. It's her birthday today, so you
know a couple of great people. And then there there's
(01:20:25):
a forty first birthday party for a turtle in Missouri.
Speaker 1 (01:20:29):
Forty one years, which is pretty young for a turtle.
Speaker 3 (01:20:32):
Turtles live like two hundred years.
Speaker 2 (01:20:34):
But the thing that made three Things you must see
is the turtle's name is Peanut. Okay, her name is
Peanut because she's shaped like a peanut. So kind of
a sad story, but she's okay. She got caught in
one of those plastic six pack rings in the eighties,
so the middle of her shell couldn't grow. The six
pack she didn't like grow and snap it. It stayed
(01:20:57):
on her, So the shell grew and her shell looks
like a peanut.
Speaker 1 (01:21:01):
Now she's lived a good long life and she's become
an anti littering icon.
Speaker 3 (01:21:07):
Yeah, get her a baseball card.
Speaker 2 (01:21:08):
Fun fact, the EPA now requires all six pack rings
to be degradable, but they take months to breakdown in
the sunlight, so if you take the time to cut
those loops, it still does make a difference.
Speaker 1 (01:21:20):
But yeah, those I mean those six pack plastic things
back in the day.
Speaker 3 (01:21:24):
We learned an elementary schoolers. She's a cut them.
Speaker 1 (01:21:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:21:27):
And then finally so yeah, you gotta go see the
You got the squirrel, you got the pinus shaped turtle,
and then you got this hero.
Speaker 1 (01:21:35):
This guy in Pennsylvania, he is there's a meeting, like
a town meeting, and.
Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
They're deciding whether or not the city should be shutting
down the local motocross track where they race dirt bikes.
There's a bunch of homes in the area that are
complaining about the sound and the noise.
Speaker 1 (01:21:59):
So I don't so Alex is going to say, well,
what came first? Did the people build their homes near
the dirt track?
Speaker 3 (01:22:05):
I wouldn't play that game out.
Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
I don't know why, but there's but there's see I
knew it. There's a lot of noise complaints right now.
So now it comes time for public comments. Okay, Okay,
you got to let people speak and they get a
certain amount of time, and this guy steps up to
the podium. Okay, here we go. This is the guy
(01:22:30):
steps up.
Speaker 1 (01:22:30):
This is how he used this time. Okay, at the podium.
Speaker 12 (01:22:33):
I really just came up here to say that you're
either going to hear them where they're allowed to be
or you're going to hear them where they're not allowed
to be.
Speaker 5 (01:22:40):
You need to.
Speaker 1 (01:22:50):
Thank you for the entertainment, all right?
Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
Is that it for public comment? Anyone else? If there's
further disruption work.
Speaker 1 (01:23:02):
He drove off, No, he drove off making the motorbike sound.
After he did it at the podium, they removed him,
and then he kind of wrote off on his virtue
on that's funny.
Speaker 14 (01:23:15):
That is funny, very spot on impersonation. Three things you
must see and here today on Links and Guests.
Speaker 1 (01:23:22):
The rod Ryan Show on ninety the Bus ninety four
or five, The Buzz, Good Morning, rod Ryan Show. Kathleen
thinks we're really downplaying. She just sent me an email.
She thinks we're really downplaying the importance of today.
Speaker 2 (01:23:38):
Well, Kathleen, sure, she goes, brother, Rod, you bet you're
ass This basic bitch is going to Starbucks today to
get my PSL fixed on, and I will be there
every day this week. You guys need to be a
little bit more enthusiastic about it. Also, this means the
(01:23:58):
hype man should be back soon, hoping for another season
of The Pumpkin Spice.
Speaker 1 (01:24:03):
Price is right.
Speaker 2 (01:24:04):
Kathleen's excited about today, she says. She says, the whole
with Pumpkins Spice coming back.
Speaker 1 (01:24:09):
To Starbucks today. We're downplaying it. We're not. She's not
getting our excitement. We should be on her.
Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
It's fair because none of us are excited about it.
Yeah right, yeah, okay, we appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (01:24:22):
For you, she's excited.
Speaker 3 (01:24:24):
Yeah, girl'll get it.
Speaker 1 (01:24:25):
That basic be's going today.
Speaker 3 (01:24:27):
Yes, where are on boots?
Speaker 1 (01:24:28):
Go her words, not mine.
Speaker 2 (01:24:30):
That's headlining the food blog page today on links and guests.
Most important link today moves Rock golf tournament. All the
information about us raising money for breast cancer research here
at MD Anderson.
Speaker 1 (01:24:42):
If you want to plan our golf tournament, links and guests, ho.

Speaker 1 (01:25:22):
Thank you so much. What do you got for Houston's headlines.
Speaker 4 (01:25:24):
The excitement of playing for a colossal powerball jackpot is
back because we're currently playing for the tenth largest jackpot
in power ball history with no winner. Last night, we
now climbed to eight hundred and fifteen million dollars, and
if you're keeping track, that's a cash payout of three
hundred and sixty seven point nine million.
Speaker 2 (01:25:42):
You and your husband play, You say, when it gets
to be big money like this, Yeah, do you have
favorite numbers?
Speaker 1 (01:25:48):
Do you have some kind of system or you with those?
Speaker 3 (01:25:49):
I've never asked him how he buys his tickets.
Speaker 1 (01:25:52):
I just trust you're just sitting there. You're a passinger princess. Yes,
just waiting for those millions to roll in, enjoyin the ride,
yead just letting him do all the work.
Speaker 3 (01:26:01):
We got a Texas winter. Last night.
Speaker 4 (01:26:02):
Someone won a million dollars right here in the Houston area.
I saw that next drawling tomorrow night.
Speaker 1 (01:26:08):
It's never at a store that I've even driven by.
Speaker 4 (01:26:10):
No, I think there is one in Richmond that is
like one of the most lucky in the state of Texas.
Speaker 2 (01:26:18):
It does seem like they go, they'll send like you
know Chaz, yes, whoever, like the on the Street guy is,
and he's got a broadcast from there, So tell me
what you're gonna do with the money.
Speaker 1 (01:26:30):
And then the guy says something inappropriate. They're live on TV.
Speaker 6 (01:26:33):
I love it. We lived.
Speaker 4 (01:26:35):
Did you see the other wild story about the researcher
stealing property from cancer research here in town.
Speaker 1 (01:26:42):
Yes, he was taking it.
Speaker 3 (01:26:43):
Why it was the craziest story.
Speaker 4 (01:26:46):
We don't even have time to get into all the background,
but the Harris County District Attorney's office said the man
was charged with theft of trade secrets, also with tampering
of a government record. You've got to read about it,
but as of late, the guy was detained try to
travel to China on July ninth. He posted bail bonded
out yesterday, surrendering his passport as a condition of the bond.
Speaker 3 (01:27:08):
Wow, it's nutty, Rod.
Speaker 4 (01:27:11):
You called this next story. It's the golden era of Josh's.
So her name is Josh. You're about to be powerful
because apparently back in nineteen eighty five, one out of
every one hundred babies born or named Josh. And now
Josh is a rising in power. We're noticing it in politics, sports,
pop culture, and right.
Speaker 3 (01:27:28):
Here on the Rod Ryan Show.
Speaker 4 (01:27:30):
I guess, as it stands, the potential presidential election could
feature a matchup of Josh's. We have three governors in
the United States that are Josh's. The NFL has some
guy named Josh Allen. I guess he's a quarterback repeatedly
the league's MVP and potentially a Super Bowl winner.
Speaker 1 (01:27:48):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:27:49):
Josh Seller's wine is a top seller, and The Weapons,
which is a horror film that just topped the box
office charts last week, starred Josh Brolin.
Speaker 1 (01:28:00):
Joshus or winning Joshu's are everywhere.
Speaker 3 (01:28:03):
Allegedly.
Speaker 4 (01:28:03):
We're also in the Golden Age of television and they
just named the greatest TV performance of the twenty first century.
Speaker 1 (01:28:12):
Okay, Sopranos twentieth.
Speaker 3 (01:28:14):
Century, that's why they're not on this list.
Speaker 1 (01:28:17):
Yeah, so this is this is two thousand to now.
Speaker 3 (01:28:22):
Brian Cranston Walter White from Breaking Bad number one on
the list.
Speaker 1 (01:28:25):
Sopranos was nineties bro what that?
Speaker 3 (01:28:28):
Yeah, were even born then?
Speaker 5 (01:28:30):
I was?
Speaker 1 (01:28:33):
Julia.
Speaker 4 (01:28:33):
Louis Dreyfuss from Beat came in second, followed by John
Hamm in his role on Mad Men.
Speaker 1 (01:28:38):
Have any interest in watching any of that stuff? Mo? Nothing?
What do you do?
Speaker 3 (01:28:45):
He's watched. I made some danga cupcakes last night.
Speaker 1 (01:28:48):
Oh my god, you made the best cupcakes.
Speaker 3 (01:28:49):
Sorry, not watching, I was listening to music.
Speaker 1 (01:28:53):
Mad Men listen.
Speaker 2 (01:28:56):
I'm with everybody with Breaking Bad number one for sure
one of the greatest shows of all time sopranos.
Speaker 1 (01:29:01):
Mad Men is right there. It is right.
Speaker 3 (01:29:03):
Cigarette talking about It's just equally as good.
Speaker 2 (01:29:06):
The character of Don Draper is one of the greatest
television characters.
Speaker 1 (01:29:10):
It might be better than Tony Soprano. Now, I'm telling you.
It's just so good, it's so complex, it's amazing.
Speaker 5 (01:29:16):
Yeah, they just feel like pay bad guys can be
good guys to the audience sometimes even though they're bad.
Speaker 2 (01:29:22):
It's just we've seen the Tony Soprano character before. I've
never seen a character like Don Draper before.
Speaker 3 (01:29:28):
But you don't see Don Draper without Tony Soprano.
Speaker 1 (01:29:32):
Okay, walk, So Walter White could fly Walter White, yes,
but not Don Draper. It's just a different guy.
Speaker 5 (01:29:39):
You didn't want a bad guy being the main character
of anything until like that kind of was like, let's
make a series with that's the case.
Speaker 2 (01:29:46):
I just I was so late to come to that show,
mad Men. I thought, Ah, this looks boring, it's A
and E whatever it was. It just looked weird, and
once I got into it, I couldn't believe how great
it was.
Speaker 4 (01:29:55):
Really.
Speaker 3 (01:29:56):
Yeah, Roddy, you've also taught me everything I know about
k Demon hundred.
Speaker 2 (01:30:01):
That ain't much because I don't know much. I mean,
I saw the movie and the songs are being sung
in my house every day.
Speaker 4 (01:30:06):
It is ruling Netflix and also the Billboard Top one hundred,
so it's a Netflix animated musical. It was in the
movie theaters several, not all, just several movie theaters this weekend,
and it made eighteen million dollars with only having limited showings.
Speaker 3 (01:30:26):
Like it's just taking over all. The kids are talking
about it.
Speaker 4 (01:30:28):
Well, the soundtrack just became the first ever to have
four simultaneous top ten hits on the Billboard Top one hundred.
Speaker 2 (01:30:36):
Wow, you gotta go back, you gotta go back to
I had to look it up because I couldn't think
of the fourth one, Purple Rain. You gotta remember it's
a movie soundtrack. So the song Purple Rain, Let's go
Crazy when Doves Cry, and then I guess I would
die for you, I guess would be the other one.
(01:30:57):
It had four hits, but not as big as this
this one.
Speaker 3 (01:31:01):
And it's only just begun. Like they're saying that it's
going to even rise more in the charts.
Speaker 1 (01:31:06):
Yeah, this is uh, this is kind of Beatles stuff. Okay,
the kids a love at it.
Speaker 3 (01:31:10):
They're making them crazy.
Speaker 4 (01:31:11):
And I know the kids are back in school, but
we are still honoring teachers, and our company iHeart is
letting us shout out some awesome teachers. So we're taking
your nominations. iHeartRadio dot com slash teachers. Today's spotlight is
on a niche for ours. She teaches at the reschool.
Folks says she's changing lives far beyond the classroom. She
makes sure kiddos feel seen, her, nurtured and loved, and
now she's eligible for a grand prize of five thousand
(01:31:34):
dollars thanks to donors choose iHeartRadio dot com slash teachers.
Speaker 3 (01:31:38):
Those are Houston's headlines.
Speaker 2 (01:31:40):
Saturday Night Fever had four hits on it, but they
weren't at the same time. You don't mean they were
released and they were. So that's the thing of the
top spots. Four of these songs are these this. There's
only six other songs that aren't on that aren't.
Speaker 3 (01:31:57):
The demon hunt You real people singing it?
Speaker 1 (01:31:59):
Or is it a do you know? I don't know,
I don't know. He looks like I can tell you this.
I thought there's worse things you can watch with your kid.
Speaker 3 (01:32:09):
It's okay.
Speaker 1 (01:32:10):
You know, it was good. It's just it was it
was entertaining. You know, you get stuck watching some stuff
with your kids. It's horrible. This was all right, hard
what you got over there?
Speaker 9 (01:32:18):
Well.
Speaker 5 (01:32:19):
The Textans announced yesterday that running back Joe Mixon is
not going to be activated from the non football injury
list by today's three o'clock deadline. That means he's gonna
be ineligible for the first four games of the season.
He's suffered an ankle injury that's kept him out of
the preseason. Nick Chubb and rookie Woody Marks are expected
to carry the load in Mixon's absence, along with Damian
Pierce and dare Agumba Wale, who were.
Speaker 3 (01:32:39):
On the Texans roster.
Speaker 5 (01:32:41):
All thirty two NFL teams have to cut their rosters
down to fifty three players by three o'clock today. In baseball,
Astros we be back in action tonight. They're gonna open
up a three game series with the Rockies at Dyke
and Park Hunter Brown. I'll be on the mount for
the Stros, going up against Colorado's Tander Gordon.
Speaker 3 (01:32:56):
First pitched at seventeen. You can listen to it on our.
Speaker 5 (01:32:58):
Sister stations, Sports Talk seven ninety News Radio seven.
Speaker 3 (01:33:02):
That isn't going on.
Speaker 1 (01:33:03):
Sports and The rod Ryan Morning Show.
Speaker 2 (01:33:10):
The Buzz ninety four five, The Buzz, Good Morning, rod
Ryan Show.
Speaker 1 (01:33:17):
Nine oh seven. Yes, we got Cage the Elephant tickets
coming up for you in just a little bit. All
the information about the boobs Rock Golf Tournament. It was
just announced today. Still plenty of room to get in.
And then you know, let me give you the rest
of it. Yeah, we need golfers. I want to get
it sold out, but I need sponsors.
Speaker 2 (01:33:36):
Oh, here comes the guy again asking all the time
with this guy, the guy I'm talking about, is me.
Speaker 1 (01:33:44):
Need some help? Need you guys got a business? You
want to get involved. You want to come out and
sponsor a hole? You like oil and gas. Greg already said,
he goes, hey, can I you know, can I be
like the drink cart sponsor?
Speaker 2 (01:33:58):
Yeah, out of baby, It's perfect for you. He's done
that in the past. Yeah, we need sponsors. Alex has
had a past the gravy hole. I don't know for
how many of the last multiple tournaments as a party
hole right there.
Speaker 14 (01:34:15):
That's when I think of Alex, I think party hole, yeah,
I think about I think about you're thinking about Alex's
party hall.
Speaker 1 (01:34:22):
Everyone else is thinking about how much Chili loves your cupcake.
Speaker 3 (01:34:25):
Hey, Chili.
Speaker 2 (01:34:27):
Comments come up more than once today checking the tape.
So I need I need sponsors, and that's all laid
out on links and guests. So I'll get to a
point where the golf tournament. Again, we're so spoiled here.
I know that the golf tournament that's going to sell out,
but then I won't stop talking about it because I'm
(01:34:49):
going to need sponsors. The way a golf tournament works
is as follows. Sure, I make money on you guys
signing up your foursome, but basically selling out the golf
tournament gets me. The course doesn't give it to me
for free, nor should they have to, Okay, so I
don't expect that. So this is nothing against I love
the guys over at Wildcat, so we have to pay them.
(01:35:12):
And then we got to get beer and food and
all that stuff for you guys, and there's a cost involved,
all right. So basically selling out the golf tournament kind
of puts me, you know, a little bit to the
good as far as, like, you know, making a nice
check for Mdy Anderson. I'll make money on that, but
it's the sponsorships, and it's the whole sponsorships.
Speaker 1 (01:35:33):
And it's the items.
Speaker 2 (01:35:34):
If you were to donate items for the auction and
those types of things, that's where I make money because
it's donated and then whatever we sell it for in
an auction item, that's just the money that we make
and that makes the check bigger for MDY Anderson. Sponsorships
name sponsorships. They come at all different levels. Our guy
(01:35:57):
Logan has done a great job, thank you. Rob has
laid it all out for you, all the different sponsorship
levels that you can come in at. So I mean
start bugging your boss now and say, hey, we should
get involved this year in the Rod Ryan Show Boom
Rock golf tournament. And maybe you know somebody that I
Sometimes we have people that come in repeatedly and I
love them.
Speaker 1 (01:36:16):
They're like family to us.
Speaker 2 (01:36:17):
Now I need some more people involved, I need some
different people involved. So start thinking about that when you
look at the golf tournament.
Speaker 1 (01:36:24):
Let's get it sold out though, that's important too.
Speaker 5 (01:36:29):
Do doo.
Speaker 1 (01:36:29):
You were asking about the K Pop Demon Hunter.
Speaker 3 (01:36:34):
Yes you're mine, Chris professional.
Speaker 1 (01:36:36):
It says that Friday Chris here, it's not all the
time with my granddaughter. And yes, if you.
Speaker 2 (01:36:41):
Watch the end credits, they show you the actual girls
that sing the songs. I believe they are Korean K pop,
So yeah, those are I mean, at least it's real singers.
All the music and everything else. I don't know what's
going on, but they have. It's very the formula of
the songs, it's almost not fair. It's like they've come up.
Speaker 1 (01:37:01):
It's it's I don't know if there's crack, subliminal messages
in there or something that just makes kids.
Speaker 2 (01:37:09):
Makes my kid nuts. So kpop four songs in the
top ten right now from that movie. There's a link
up today. I don't remember this being a big thing.
Do you remember when butter candles were kind of being
talked about on the internet.
Speaker 3 (01:37:26):
I remember AHB had one.
Speaker 1 (01:37:28):
Real butter Oh no, no, no, not a butter scented candle.
What yeah, no, no no.
Speaker 2 (01:37:34):
You get the sour dough bread and you caught out
a hole in it, and then you put the butter
candle in the middle of it.
Speaker 3 (01:37:39):
You light it now, and then you waste it. Well,
the butter melts, do I look like I waste butter.
Speaker 1 (01:37:45):
You use it for the bread.
Speaker 3 (01:37:47):
Oh, you eat the bread that's melted through the candle.
Speaker 2 (01:37:50):
You're freezing the butter and then putting a food grade
wick into it. You're hearing about this for the first time.
First time, this was a pandemic thing.
Speaker 3 (01:37:58):
Okay, I was making babies.
Speaker 1 (01:38:00):
Okay, different kind of bobby, Okay, cupcakes.
Speaker 2 (01:38:04):
So a woman on TikTok is reminding us now that
it's almost fall, So start planning your butter candles.
Speaker 1 (01:38:10):
Most getting into this for the first time. Let's do it.
You freeze butter in a mold with a wick, not
just any wick, food grade, food grade wick like hemp
coated in bees wax, something like that.
Speaker 2 (01:38:22):
Okay. Then you get your sour dough, and then after
it's frozen, boom. You have a gathering and then you
light it. Nobody shows anyone eating it.
Speaker 1 (01:38:32):
All you see on the internet is a beautiful piece
of sour dough with a beautiful butter, I mean butter.
Speaker 2 (01:38:39):
It's gonna it'll burn, So a butter candle in the
middle of a beautiful piece of bread.
Speaker 1 (01:38:44):
Nobody shows anybody the actual application of how messy it
must get.
Speaker 3 (01:38:47):
Why is no one eating it.
Speaker 1 (01:38:50):
Because they don't want to ruin the TikTok or the
Instagram moment of how awful it must be to kind
of the it looks great in a picture it I
got a link up. Okay, they don't show a whole
lot of videos of what it's like to eat, so
be prepared for this to look and sound awesome or
awful disappointing in reality, is what I'm saying. That's chilly.
(01:39:13):
Put that up on links and yesterday, you have some
tickets to give away.
Speaker 4 (01:39:17):

Yeah, it comes it comes from the military. NATO phonetic
alphabet A is alpha.
Speaker 1 (01:45:10):
B is Bravo.
Speaker 3 (01:45:11):
Wait, there's ones that are already assigned.
Speaker 1 (01:45:13):
Yes, C is Charlie, D is delta.
Speaker 4 (01:45:17):
And do you have to like memorize them like you
memorize the alphabet obviously.
Speaker 1 (01:45:20):
I think when you are trying to get India Julia.
I think when you are.
Speaker 2 (01:45:25):
Trying to get your message across, to make sure that
you understand the letters, you would say A as in alpha,
B as in bravo. And they've already predetermined. I think
in the military, I think they've already predetermined what those
letters are to be used.
Speaker 5 (01:45:42):
Really, okay, I think quebec Romeo sierras.
Speaker 1 (01:45:47):
QRS quebec Romeo Sierra. How do you know that?
Speaker 3 (01:45:51):
How do you know that tours of your dance? When
I played call of duty, call of duty deserved?
Speaker 1 (01:45:57):
Really so V so V is victor?
Speaker 3 (01:46:01):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (01:46:01):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (01:46:02):
Uniform now P is going to come into play in
my story. I'm doing this for a reason. Okay, p
if you were following the again, this is the NATO
phonetic alphabets, is Papa, Papa papa? If you were trying
to get a communication across here on the radio and
like pe as in papa, you know what I mean,
and then there would be no room for error.
Speaker 3 (01:46:25):
I have to do this when I spoke my last name,
like when I'm paying.
Speaker 2 (01:46:28):
A bill or something online, because you don't want to
be on the radio and you're in you're in a
crisis situation.
Speaker 1 (01:46:32):
You're like p and the other person on the other
other is going B like and then P as in papa.
Speaker 3 (01:46:40):
Okay, Okay, that's not what I think.
Speaker 2 (01:46:41):
So this this is going viral. It's it's a voicemail.
A woman in Atlanta shared the voicemail she got from
her dermatologist. The lady left a message on her phone.
She clearly is not in the military.
Speaker 5 (01:47:00):
P is what.
Speaker 1 (01:47:03):
Papa? He is? Papa?
Speaker 2 (01:47:06):
Okay, I'm just gonna I'm gonna play the voicemail and
again this is this is left on her phone.
Speaker 4 (01:47:14):
Here we go, Hey, Haley, this is.
Speaker 6 (01:47:17):
Kat with Babcock dermatology. The culture came back with a
bacteria called it Pantoia species, and that is spelled p
as in pork, Sorry as an apple and as in
new Sorry okay, t as in tree o as an orange.
Speaker 3 (01:47:46):
E as an earth a as an apple.
Speaker 6 (01:47:49):
And so Amanda wanted to know because you had a soulfa.
Speaker 1 (01:47:58):
Delay the delay on pe. She cannot come up with
a word.
Speaker 3 (01:48:03):
There's only one word that we think of.
Speaker 1 (01:48:06):
She cannot come up with another act with the pause
is everything for me, and that is.
Speaker 6 (01:48:13):
Spelled p as inquirk.
Speaker 1 (01:48:18):
And her cowork.
Speaker 6 (01:48:21):
Sorry as an apple and as in new.
Speaker 3 (01:48:28):
So I don't know what I was saying.
Speaker 1 (01:48:34):
I mean, once she started laughing, you're not wrong using
something if you don't know the actual one.
Speaker 3 (01:48:39):
It's like you're still delaying the information. Directly, judge you
on what you decide to use.
Speaker 2 (01:48:44):
I mean, she's doing it on the fly, and then
you're an actor and then once but once you get
the giggles, I'm like, this is me. Once you get
the giggles, you're done. You're done, and you're trying to
deliver a message from it. You're you're a dermatology, you're
in office, and you're trying to leave a real message
and you have the giggles and you can't stop.
Speaker 3 (01:49:02):
You gotta wait until they're like, would you like to
delete that and try again?
Speaker 5 (01:49:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:49:06):
At that point, yeah, I one, I'll write it down.
We'll call back.
Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:49:12):
I just I feel for her because I get like
that and there's no stopping me. I got kicked out
of classes because I couldn't stop laughing. It's like, once
I got the giggles, boom, they're like Ryan in the hall.
I had to wait in the hall until I stopped laughing.
I missed the whole class. It's ninety four or five,
the bus.
Speaker 1 (01:49:27):
