don't know why. I'm gonna try this, but the twenty
percent chance of rain partly cloudy high of ninety four.
I don't know why is that from yesterday?

Speaker 2 (01:48):
I said?

Speaker 1 (01:48):
It said that sounds like yesterday?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Oh well yesterday?

Speaker 1 (01:51):
All right, Good morning, mo. What do you got for
Houston's headlines?

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Hey?

Speaker 5 (01:54):
There, An eight year old and a ten year old
sitting in pews were killed when a shooter opened fire
through the windows of a church at a Catholic school
in Minneapolis yesterday morning. Seventeen others were injured in the
shooting during a mass that marked the first week of school.
The Minneapolis Police chief said of all those injuries, everyone
else is expected to survive, which is great news. The

(02:14):
shooter did die at the scene from a self inflicted
gunshot wound, and the investigation into the motive, if one,
continues and much much better news. Power Ball continues, and
it jumps because there's no grand prize winner in last
night's drawing. The jackpot now stands at nine hundred and
fifty million dollars. It's always a billion in case you're

(02:39):
keeping track. The cash option just shy of four hundred
and twenty nine million. There were a couple Lucky Winners
done in Texas. The next drawling takes place on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Did your dude buy a ticket?

Speaker 3 (02:52):
He did?

Speaker 1 (02:52):
He did, He was ready to go for the big
drawing yesterday. Okay, you didn't no when I didn't have time.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Do you think you will have time today or tomorrow?

Speaker 1 (03:01):
I don't make special trips for the tickets. If I
get gas and then you tell me that it's worthy
of me getting a ticket, then I'll do that.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Those things have to fall in love. You maybe do
it before Saturday. I'm try Okay, thanks, Ron.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
I don't really know how to talk about this next story.
There's a new survey about Travis and Taylor's engagement.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
People don't care.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
That's the story.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
People don't care. Seventy is talking about how they don't
care about it, maybe.

Speaker 6 (03:33):
Like it doesn't it.

Speaker 5 (03:34):
The new survey done by you gov makes things a
little confusing because it does say that seventy two percent
of Americans report not caring, but the Instagram records show
much differently.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
They broke the internet.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
The engagement pictures were reposted more than a million times,
which set the Instagram record, and they reached that record
number in just six hours and It's already on a
list of the twenty most liked photos on Instagram.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah, people care.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
People are lying about not caring.

Speaker 7 (04:07):
Yes, yes, it was like when Taylor started going to
the games like Austin's Row on the NFL. But all
you're talking about is Taylor Swift and not football at all,
So you definitely care about Taylor Swift.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Care.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Care is the word that like you're getting caught off,
get triggered by you can't. Yeah, it's big, it's big news.
It's huge news. Yeah, it was the biggest story yesterday.
It was whether you don't care? It means nothing.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Yeah, everything's fake though, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
This was the couple we were hoping for.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
You convinced me that Liam Neeson was some sort of
superior man being and that, of course Pamela Anderson was
going to fall for all of that.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
It was take Love is Dead all to promote the movie, right.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
A source finally came forward, admitting that allegedly it was
just a PR stunt to help sell tickets further movie
The Naked Gun. The source does say their chemistry was
very real on camera, but off camera it was strictly business.
Pamela a pro, Liam a pro. They were leaning into
the rumors. They knew it would get attention.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
It was too upfront and in our faces. It was
way it was way too obvious that it was fake.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Well, then I learned about Liam and I was rooting
for BAM. Like what we got a new Fallout Boy
kind of.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
The band is releasing a twentieth anniversary edition of their
breakthrough album. It'll happen on October seventeenth, So put on
your calendar because the newly remastered collection includes previously unreleased,
alternate and acoustic versions. There's some remixes on there, there's
some live recordings, there's some B side tapes.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
It's gonna be good. We're all Fallout Boy fans, right
It's It's toufficals. Those are Houston's headlines.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Take it.

Speaker 7 (06:00):

Oh I'm sorry, Alex. There is what what's trending? Do

(12:57):
you as bad story? By the way, first, yeah, it's

Good morning. Everybody that's so rude.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Emails every day complaining that Chili must either hate him
just doesn't want him around, doesn't want him on the air.
This guy has won it all twice. Only the Goat
and the Goat Hunter are two time year long champions,

(16:36):
and Corey likes to call himself the fastest two time champion.
That is a fact, Rod, Okay, is a fact. I
know you like that, bro, first time playing this year.
The last time you played was the tournament last year.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:50):

Speaker 3 (17:46):
I'm not feeling good.

a lot of help with these questions. Question number one,
if the letter A is number one in the alphabet,
neither one of them know the answer either, So who

(18:19):

impactful play in foot ball that earns a Corey touchdown?

(19:06):
Touchdown is a correct answer. What is the most impactful
playing football that earns a team six points a touchdown?
Corey's on the board. Jez hama hamama hamadahmina.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
The hands are clammy.

Speaker 1 (19:26):

Speaker 4 (20:06):
Nineteen sixty nine.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
The correct answer.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
That felt like David and Goliath.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
You got it in after the closer, and I think,
did you say seventy nine?

Speaker 4 (20:22):
Corey?

Speaker 12 (20:23):
I did?

Speaker 4 (20:23):

Speaker 4 (21:45):
Good morning everybody, this is peak time Hall of Famers Kevin.
Now you're fresh out of bed head to head four

Speaker 1 (22:08):

What a game?

Speaker 1 (22:12):
All right, We're gonna give you a shot. It's in
cage the Elephant. Tickets coming up. But I brought in
some new fun facts for you. I think I got
some good ones here.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
It's got funk that to the day.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
We make you look smart, funny, your buddies. It's the
fun back to the day. I feel like I may
have covered this once before.

Speaker 4 (22:31):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
We've been doing this bit a long time, so if
there's some repeats, excuse me. But there's some new intel
that I received on this fun fact. Hey hell, good morning,
good morning brother. Do you remember us talking about nikes
where they got there just do it slogan just do
it and do it, just do it. It's so familiar.

(22:52):
It's not the old lady with the swoos. Shit's yeah,
it's Nike, got it there. The just do it slogan
is based on a murderer's final words. Gary Gilmore killed
a couple people in Utah got the death penalty in
nineteen seventy six. His last words were, let's do it.

(23:14):
Nike admitted their slogan was inspired by that quote take
a listen. After his death, he donated his organs to
science and two people got his eyes transplanted, which led

(23:34):
to a nineteen seventy eight song by a punk rock
band called The Adverts. The name of the song gary
Gilmour's eyes.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
Look you want the actual crop the eyes of the.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Keep an eye on those two people that have his eyes.
The five most common names in movie scripts John Frank,
Sam and Paul is fun WHOA Who's got that guy's eyes?
I don't know. The word emoji came from Japanese characters.

(24:19):
Makes sense translates as the E means picture and moji
means character. Ah, that's neat. If you want to get technical.
There is no s in the plural form of the word,
but the s is widely accepted now with us lazy
English speaking people, so it's just emoji, like like lego.

(24:42):
The plural of lego is lego.

Speaker 13 (24:45):
It's the funk that's of the day.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
We make you look smart and your body it's the
fu's the day.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
There's like nine facts in there. I'm only charging iHeart
for three, and I think I gave nine today. What
are you giving away?

Speaker 5 (25:02):
Cage the Elephant October sixth, seven to one to three
Music Hall tickets are on sale now ticketmaster dot Com
or they can be yours if you know this splashback.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
It's your fun backlash man. The Harlem Globe trotters Alex
and how were whistling it for us yesterday. Their theme song,
Sweet Georgia Brown. It's a ragtime song, an old rag
time song from nineteen twenty five. What is that song about?
Seven one, three, two and two five nine four five.

(25:31):
It's now time for rockout with your stock out with
Captain Cash. It's not it's not about little kids enjoying
phony basketball. Okay, take that off the table. Okay, curly,
how'd we do on uh on the Old Wall Street? Yesterday?

Speaker 14 (25:43):
Not a bad day on Wall Street. That that was
up one hundred and forty seven points. Kick off this
morning at forty five thousand and five sixty five. NASTAC

getting through. Now let's get over the goal line. The

(27:06):
Harlem Globetrotters. Their theme song is Sweet Georgia Brown, old
ragtime song from nineteen twenty five. If you look at
the original lyrics, what is that song about the new
gallon down?

Speaker 13 (27:19):
All the fellaws just love the way He's about?

Speaker 1 (27:23):
What is that song about.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
The new gallon down the fellaws just love the raid about?

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Is that the answer, Moe?

Speaker 3 (27:33):
It sounds like something he might have googled.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
But that's not what ye No, No, maybe those are
lyrics or something, But what is the song about? Monica
what's that song about, Monica?

Speaker 10 (27:50):
It's about a hooker?

Speaker 6 (27:52):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Yeah. I think he was kind of giving me some lyrics.
He must have googled the lyrics. Sorry, dude, I needed Hooker.
Was the fun fact yesterday was hooker? Yes, awes Man,
Monica wins.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
Monica is going to see KG the Elephant.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
October sixth, seventy one to three Music Hall.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Congrats, Mama, thank you, Thank you Monica for knowing hooker
is the answer, and.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Thank getting to say it on the radio.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Yes party Claude Hype ninety four. Okay, we got to
switch gears. Some sad news yesterday. Mo Houston's headlines.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Please well upday.

Speaker 5 (28:27):
An eight year old and a ten year old sitting
in pews were killed when a shooter opened fire through
the windows of a church at a Catholic school in
Minneapolis yesterday morning. Seventeen others were injured in the shooting
during a mass then marched the first week of school.
All of those injuries. All of those injured are expected
to survive, which is great news. But the shooter did
diet the scene from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
The investigation into the motive continues this morning.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
It was announced yesterday that the director of the CDC
and several other top officials are lee the agency. In
case you're doing any math or confused here by the story,
it's fair because the CDC director was just sworn in
on July thirty first, So this is a very dramatic
shake up in the nation's top public health agency. The
Health and Human Services Department announced her departure yesterday, thanking

(29:17):
her for her quote, dedicated service to the American people,
but her attorney stated she has not actually been fired,
and she has not stepped down and would not resign,
so there's some confusion about her exact status. All right,
Tomorrow is the twentieth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and I
know that day obviously hits extra significantly for lots of folks,

(29:37):
especially here in the Houston area.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
But we're going to see lots of highlights.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
Of that natural disaster, especially here, you know, over the
weekend tomorrow, specifically the.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
DA documentary that I want to see.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
You say, it was on Hulu or Netflix.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
Or something one of the Yeah, I can't keep track
of the stream. Seeing that.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
Robin Roberts is going to do a special tomorrow who's
from the area.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
So she's going back from Good Morning America and she's
going to go back into a story. And yeah, I
think because it's twenty years, everyone's going to be covering
in a little extra heavy this year.

Speaker 5 (30:06):
Well, the specific poll that hit me this morning asked
Americans what these scariest natural disasters are.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
Yeah, hurricanes came in number four, because they.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Don't affect most of the country.

Speaker 11 (30:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
I mean, when you do a national poll, what hits
America more than anything? Tornadoes? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Midwest.

Speaker 5 (30:25):
And they weren't even saying, like the survey didn't even
say like because of how much of America. They said,
because of how tornadoes come in so unexpectedly and you
don't really.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Have a whole lot of warning. That's the scariest part
about a tornado.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
If you're not on the coast, you're not concerned and
you're not afraid.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
Of thinking about her.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
You know, they're bad, right, but it's just that's not
going to affect me, you know. So one of them,
how is.

Speaker 5 (30:51):
It worded, the scariest natural disaster Number one is tornadoes.
Tsunami's number two. Okay, so that just rolls out of
that I said earthquakes number three. Okay, hurricane came in
number four.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
What else is on the list?

Speaker 5 (31:06):
Wildfires, flash floods, heat waves, or drought?

Speaker 3 (31:09):
Blizzard, mud slide. I did note that your biggest natural
disaster fear is not on this list.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
Sinkholes.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
That's a natural disaster, right, I think it is?

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Yeah too, But yeah, same thing with blizzards, Like we
wouldn't think of that here, you know, but obviously up
north that's all you talk about for six months, blizzards.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
Can you help me with this next story? Bill Belichick's girlfriend.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
Oh, he's having a good time.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
Huh, I can't stop sneezing.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
It's okay.

Speaker 5 (31:37):
Bill Belichick's girlfriend has filed a trademark to the phrase
gold digger, and.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
It's through his company. Like why whatever Bill Belichick's company is,
she's she's trademarking it through him, but she'll own it
and then she's gonna put out a line with jewelry.
I guess it'll start with jewelry and then it might
go into panties and everything else. But but globe Digger
will be the brand because because that's what everybody's calling her.

(32:05):
So she's just kind of like leaning into it already
been a word.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
Yeah, I don't Tania, not already.

Speaker 6 (32:11):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
I mean, but if nobody's doing anything with gold Digger
and you come up with a product for it, can
you say, hey, I want I want this.

Speaker 11 (32:20):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
You have to prove that you're doing it. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
It also doesn't seem like a good look.

Speaker 5 (32:26):
You know, she's known for going in there and not
wanting to talk about their relationship.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
And now this, now she's going to capitalize on it.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
I can't believe it's lasted as long as it has.
I think all of us think that.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
In case you're forgetting she's twenty four and he's seventy three.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
He's having a good time. Good for him.

Speaker 3 (32:44):
Jelly Roll just made a big announcement.

Speaker 5 (32:46):
He's now lost two hundred pounds and because of that
he can do a lot more things that he hasn't
done in the past. He said, this is big news
in my world. So he's overseas on his first European tour.
He's out with Plus Malone and they're in Berlin, Germany,
and he marked the momentous.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Occasion my scooting around the city on one of those
e scooters.

Speaker 5 (33:07):
He said he hasn't been skinny enough to ride one
of them in like ten years. So what's next for
jelly Roll? Is it skydiving?

Speaker 3 (33:13):
I would watch that. Those are Houston's headline.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
He did say he wanted to do that, but you
have to be two fifty?

Speaker 3 (33:19):
Is it two fifty?

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Two fifty is the max? I think too.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
I think I'm going to be a little under the
map tandem.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know. I wouldn't want to push
that limit. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (33:28):
Bo alex Astro's gotta win. Last night they shut out
the rockiesport or Nothing. They'll wrap up this series with
the Rockies these afternoon. Jason Alexander's going to be on
the mound for the shows going up against Colorado. Kyle
Freeland first pitches at one ten. You can listen to
it on our sister station, Sports Talk seven ninety. Week
one of college football kicks off tonight. A couple of
notable games on tonight's schedule. At four thirty number twenty five,

(33:50):
Boise Stayle play South Florida.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
At seven, U of AG is gonna host Stephen F.

Speaker 7 (33:54):
Austin, and at eight o'clock, Nebraska will take on Cincinnati.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
That's what's going on in sports Houston's rocking alternatives.

Speaker 15 (34:03):
The rod rast the Morning Show from six to ten AM,
ninety four or five Bush.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
So Fun ninety four or five Buzz God Smack Voodoo.
I remember that song specifically, Alex using that for the
suburb Summer Sizzler. YEPS soon does that one hit. It's like, oh,
wait a minute, Suburb Summer Sizzler coming up. There's been
no repeats, so I would be I would, there won't be,

(34:32):
there won't be okay, interesting interesting, So don't yell out
God Smack Voodoo okay because Alex is not repeating songs.
That's I hope Eric and Terry are listening. Eric from Kingwood,
Terry from Dayton. The winner today Kingwood Dayton goes into
the Final four and wins two hundred and fifty dollars
from show Federal Credit Union and is a couple of

(34:53):
games away from winning five thousand dollars and winning the
whole damn thing. So that's the game we're playing. At
eight twenty, we played what a game today? If you
missed it, the Fresh out of Bad Head to Head
was amazing. Fresh out of Bad Head to Head two
time Hall of Famer Kevin. He had a mighty challenger today.
I'll leave it at that, so Alex will go in

(35:15):
and podcast that eventually, and then you can listen to
just that or the whole show. But I'm pushing the
podcast hard lately. Speaking of podcasts, this guy's got a
brand new Past the Gravy up that'll be making its
way over to links and guests. But wherever you get
your podcast, just look up Past the Gravy. I know
we recorded a new one yesterday and then read my
lips is coming up. But first I just mo had
a great idea thank you, because I'm overwhelmed. I don't

(35:38):
remember the last time I came in the day after
a concert and I received so many pictures. It's just
it's overwhelming, and I don't know what to do with them.
I can't, I you know, I can't. I'm dumping them
all over to chili or whatever. I'm getting you started
on our Facebook page because I want everyone to see them.
So many of you has so many great shots from
the show last night. Drop a few on our face

(36:00):
book page. I'm getting started with patch guy Jarrett. You
see him with all the patches. He's got rod Ryan
show Patch with all the band patches, him and his
wife are there, and he's got a picture with Zach
the guitar player of Shinedown, so I know he's got
some story involving that. Okay, but that's where you're gonna
get started. And then boom. I appreciate all the emails.

(36:20):
I am overwhelmed with the amount of pictures that I've received,
and there's so many great ones. I want everyone to
see them, but I don't want them to be just
wasted in my inbox. And if I send him a chili,
he's just gonna look at me like, hey man, what
do you want me to do with these? So I
know that's gonna be what's gonna happen. So Facebook is
the place to go. I've started. You drop the pictures
underneath Patch guy, and then show everybody the great pictures

(36:45):
that you received or that you took last night at
the show, especially those of you that won some pit
tickets from us. All right, let's go. It's time to
read my lips always like I gotta get ready for
a game. You got me playing here? I can't be
posting I could be posting everybody's shine down pictures. It's

(37:08):
Chili versus Alex today. What are they trying to win
our listeners?

Speaker 5 (37:15):
We have a pair of tickets to see Alice Cooper
and Judas Priest. They're gonna be in the Woodlands October
twenty sixth.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Okay, do you go with Chili or do you go
with Alex on this one? No, what's your choice.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
I'm gonna go with whoever has the best time.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
I go very PC. All Right, we're gonna get your
calling in after the break, we're gonna get things started.
Read my lips is coming up. Last minute word suggestions.
I'll look at everything that comes in right now. Okay,
That's all I'm gonna do is this break. After I
tell you about Orchard. Everything that I do during this
break is going to be looking for great words to

(37:54):
use for the game. Email me Rod at the Buzz
dot com.

Speaker 9 (38:00):
Alrighty pop Guy, rock and alternative very used to The
Rod Ryan.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
Morning Show six to ten am The Buzz.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
All Right, welcome back everybody, Rod Ryan's show. You heard
us America's number one podcast app iHeartRadio. Is there a
new past the gravy up? Yeah?

Speaker 16 (38:19):
There is?

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Yeah? Can we get at it right now? Absolutely? It's
up on the Welfare's Rod Ryan showpage at the buzz
dot com. What number podcast is this for you? Six
thirty one, six hundred and thirty one podcasts?

Speaker 3 (38:30):
Mo He is a busy guy.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
It's like ten years. It's eleven years. Eleven years of podcasting.
That's insane. Okay, so it Chilly has it up on
links against.

Speaker 7 (38:40):
Let's worry about savor tooth tigers. Oh yeah, yeah, it's
pretty crazy stuff. I thought they were like a dinosaur.
They're not a dinosaur.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
They're adjacent. Are they prehistoric? Yes? Okay, but I was
like in ice age near with dinosaurs. Oh yeah. Well
some of those cartoons they take some liberties. Yeah yeah.

Speaker 7 (39:00):
It turns out I was wrong on a lot of that.
So we did some research found out about that. We
learned about the boobs and other funny weather events.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
Cool names, you know, like toys can't really talk when
you leave the room. I did know that. Okay, I'm
just saying they really do take some liberties on those cartoons.
All right, good stuff. Well, brand New passed, the gravy
is up, and the latter leader leader is right here.
What do you got for trending? Liam Neeson is trending.
Not Pam. It was Liam Neeson, is what I saw.

(39:27):
It's weird that his name is coming up, like because
we were all rooting for him, like, dude, we have hope,
we hope you're getting after Pam Anderson.

Speaker 7 (39:34):
He was just like, Pam Anderson can get any she wants.
Liam Neeson probably still could. But like you think Pam Anderson,
you like she can get any of you.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
I think she has more options. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (39:42):
There really, she was off a fraud and they lied
to U saw and they were just trying to promote
the nake again.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
But the movie is kind of a spoofy type thing
as well. So is anyone mad mad?

Speaker 4 (39:53):
Like?

Speaker 1 (39:54):
Is Liam Neeson happy for them? And no? Less happy?
Do I need to cancel either one of them for
lying to me?

Speaker 3 (40:00):
No, we're canceling cracking tically never said anything about it.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
Yeah they did it, You're right, they just were like, huh,
no comment. I think it's fun. I thought they did
a good job of trying to trick us. I never
whis fooled.

Speaker 7 (40:11):
And then Ryder Cup is trending. The Ryder Cup teams
were announced. There's some automatic qualifiers and the captains get
to pick guys. Keegan Bradley is the American captain. He
made his picks yesterday, so people are discussing whether or
not he made the right or wrong pick. The Ryder
Cup starts in about a month. Go Team USA, and
then the US Open. Tennis is trending right now. That's
going on in New York and everybody's talking about what

(40:33):
happened last night at the US Open.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
This was training all night. If by the buzz, all right,
game number two Alex, game number two.

Speaker 4 (40:40):
Of the day.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
That's my lips. You can tell most like really like
Titan Bright today. Not that you aren't normally, yeah, but
there's always a little tenseness to you on the days
that you're playing. And now you have a smile on
your face that only appears when you're just timekeeping. Well,

(41:07):
you know what's happening here, we've gone. You're trying to boys,
alright it Okay, the twins are going at each other today,
I mean.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
Here for it.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
So Chile takes on Alex today. What are they trying
to win?

Speaker 3 (41:24):
They're trying to win someone some Alice Cooper and Judas
Priest ticket.

Speaker 1 (41:29):
Okay, big show. That's right before Halloween, right, very cool.
Call six, call now seven one three two one two

hasn't seen any movies you saw on the Twilight stuff? Yeah? Okay, yeah,
that's so truly.

Speaker 3 (42:07):
I could not avoid it.

Speaker 1 (42:08):
That song on the Twilight soundtrack one of them, I
don't know which one. Good Morning, everybody rot Ryan's Show,
Throwback Thursday, I know, I know, we get busy. Tracy
Bonham's Mother Mother, Meat Puppets Backwater. That was the biggest
song that got like in heavy rotation on this station
back in the day, on a lot of stations. And
then Splendor. Yeah whatever. I don't know who's gonna win.

(42:31):
I haven't even looked. I don't know. You got to vote, though,
you have to vote. I've been worried about curating all
these words for the game. Also, so many pictures from
last night's Bush Morgan Wade Shine Down Show, even Radio Wizard.

Speaker 3 (42:49):
Pull his pictures were insane.

Speaker 1 (42:51):
Yeah, he was right in front of the stage. And
then I even got pictures of Radio Wizard watching in
front of the stage. I just I got so many.
I'm now asking you drop them on our Facebook page.
I've created an area for you guys to just drop
your great photos and videos from last night's concert. I
want to go see them all. It's just doing you

(43:14):
a favorite. Chile.

Speaker 13 (43:15):
Well, I posted Victor paying his pictures on Victors are
on the music page.

Speaker 1 (43:19):

Speaker 13 (43:20):
I believe so. Yeah, he's saying some pictures and I
put him on the on the music blog page.

Speaker 1 (43:26):
That's awesome. Okay, so we got some pro shots as well.
Thank you, Victor. All right, well that's Chili right there.
What up, Chili? You're playing today? I heard, Yeah, you're playing.
You're taking on your twin brother Sir, take your head.
They got to compliment each other here, and you're very
handsome today. Okay, so let's bring out Eddie. Hey guys,

(43:52):

No pressure, y'all, Alice Cooper and Judus Priest. Tickets are
all the line.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
No big deal, A big one, Alex, you're the returning champion.
I'd like to defer to my good friend Chili. What

Speaker 1 (44:34):
He's gonna go first. You gentlemen, all right, mo Hey,
I just hope you do great job and we all
have fun to it. Oh yeah, thank you. So what's
happening right now is Chili's gonna now take off his
regular headphones. He's gonna put in those masterdon headphones.

Speaker 13 (44:48):
You mean, I'm gonna act like I'm playing a game.

Speaker 1 (44:51):
How happy are you that you are not putting on
mastadon in your ears right now?

Speaker 3 (44:54):
Beyond beyond, there's no words to describe for happiness. It
is just my body.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
You put this moment up like with the birth of
your children type.

Speaker 3 (45:03):
Probably above.

Speaker 1 (45:06):
All right, Uh, Chili now cannot hear me. He's got alight.

Speaker 13 (45:11):

goat choke strong showing goat choke, toe's showing goat time.

Speaker 1 (46:04):
I liked that he had to like define what a
toe was? You want to clear it?

Speaker 13 (46:11):
Oh, goat choke?

Speaker 4 (46:13):
Yeah, choke.

Speaker 1 (46:15):
Do I need to tell you what happened on the
fresh out of Head to Head this morning?

Speaker 3 (46:18):
It might have been people that we're listening.

Speaker 4 (46:20):
Do you hear it?

Speaker 13 (46:21):
They get to go listening on the podcast.

Speaker 1 (46:24):
Don't miss out by eight am.

Speaker 3 (46:26):
Thank you, Alex.

Speaker 1 (46:28):
All right, here we go, we're number two. Good luck, buddy.

Speaker 3 (46:33):
We ready.

Speaker 1 (46:36):
This is an homage to you.

Speaker 2 (46:41):
Clam hands limp hanging, clam hands, limp hands, clam hands.

Speaker 13 (46:53):
I'm thinking dirty. I can't say it.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
Clam hands hands, clam hands, hanes claim hands.

Speaker 1 (47:03):
Live basically clam hands, clammy hands, clam hands.

Speaker 3 (47:10):
What what did you think it was?

Speaker 13 (47:12):
I couldn't say it. Clam clam hands the opposite of living.

Speaker 1 (47:20):
Most of her hands were playing opposite.

Speaker 4 (47:22):
So what I will think?

Speaker 1 (47:25):
This guy's got to get one.

Speaker 3 (47:27):
This is the one.

Speaker 1 (47:28):
I bet he does. Hopet how about you?

Speaker 15 (47:32):
Got on you?

Speaker 14 (47:32):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (47:33):
I would never put more pressure on my pressure.

Speaker 4 (47:36):
On my friend.

Speaker 1 (47:39):
Alex backed up immediately about me. It's about chili. I

the pit, like a shiny bush, Oh what.

Speaker 1 (51:34):

Speaker 3 (51:36):

Speaker 1 (51:40):

inspired by things that were said on the show. Shiny

that means Eddie is the winner. What are you giving Eddie?

Speaker 5 (51:55):

The rod Ryan Morning Show six to ten am, The.

Speaker 1 (52:19):
Buzz, Smash Shit Popcast four or five to the Buzz.
Good morning, rod Ryan Show, Alex. Do we do song
clips anymore? Do we not? We can the top of
next hour. What do we do it? Playing games? Game show? Yeah,

(52:39):
we've been hosting game show. Leave it, hosting game shows
all morning long. Hey, good morning everybody. And just throw
back Thursday. Let's get to some song clips. Shortly after
eight o'clock. Tracy Bonham's mother mother, great song, meat Puppets, Backwater,
great song splendor, Yeah, whatever, great song. All right, we'll
do song clip, we'll talk about the voting. We will

(53:02):
recognize that today is throw back Thursday. But let's not
forget suburb of Summer Sissler. It's another money game. It's
Kingwood taken on Dayton at a twenty winner gets two
hundred and fifty dollars from Shell Federal Credit Union, and
they're on their way to possibly getting five thousand dollars
and winning the whole damn thing. Follow a lot of
the brackets on the World Famous I did look again,

(53:24):
I keep checking just in case it changed. Nothing over
a twenty percent chance of rain today and tonight with
Party Claude's guys high of ninety four. Most some sad
news yesterday. Hate when this happens, and hate having to
talk about it in the morning, but you can't look away.
It's just we had a terrible, tragic event again happening

(53:44):
in this country.

Speaker 5 (53:45):
Yes and we will never forget the eight and ten
year old that we're sitting in the pews and we're killed.
When a shooter opened fire through the windows of a
church at a Catholic school in Minneapolis yesterday morning. Seventeen
others were injured in the shooting during a mass that
marked the first week of school. All of those injured
are expected to survive. The shooter died at the scene
from a self inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation into the

(54:07):
motive continues. Powerball also continues. It does jump. Because there
was no grand prize winner and last night's drawling, the
jackpot now stands at nine hundred and fifty million dollars,
meaning the cash option is just shy of four hundred
and twenty nine million. Wow, there were a couple of
lucky winners, none in Texas. But the next drawling takes

(54:30):
place on Saturday. So Rod, you have a little bit
of time, get out, buy a.

Speaker 3 (54:35):
Ticket for the team.

Speaker 1 (54:39):
He's saying, saying, drawing, weird, drawling, drawing.

Speaker 3 (54:45):
Wait a minute, added to the list of words that
I say.

Speaker 1 (54:46):
Weird, yea, yeah, wait a minute. What's happening next?

Speaker 3 (54:49):
Drawling?

Speaker 1 (54:52):
I didn't know if my ears were playing tricks on.

Speaker 3 (54:54):
Please sale for me. The next drawing, drawing, drawing with
your cray on, with your crayon.

Speaker 1 (55:01):
Yeah, I'm a crayon guy, cran crans.

Speaker 15 (55:04):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (55:06):
So you're saying drawling an extra you're throwing an ell
in there.

Speaker 3 (55:10):
I'm from Indiana?

Speaker 1 (55:11):
What does that mean? I don't know?

Speaker 3 (55:12):
Is that how people talk?

Speaker 1 (55:13):
Are you from Lindiana?

Speaker 3 (55:18):
Someone went the freaking powder ball?

Speaker 1 (55:20):
One's drawing the drawling Saturday.

Speaker 6 (55:26):
I'm like, is it just me?

Speaker 1 (55:29):
Actually?

Speaker 3 (55:29):
I think there is one guy that emails about it.

Speaker 5 (55:32):
The seventy two percent of Americans do not care about
Travis and Taylor's engagement.

Speaker 1 (55:38):
You're gonna get them on your ass right now.

Speaker 3 (55:39):
I'm sorry, I'm just reporting the news.

Speaker 1 (55:41):
Oh you're gonna be in the next song.

Speaker 5 (55:42):
The media absolutely blew up. But this new survey done
by you gov is a bit confusing. Only five percent
of the participants say they care a lot, fifteen.

Speaker 3 (55:52):
Percent claim to care a little.

Speaker 5 (55:55):
The number seventy two percent of those polled cares zero percent.

Speaker 1 (56:01):
Okay, you gotta get you're looking at like how you're
wording it.

Speaker 3 (56:07):
I'm reading it.

Speaker 1 (56:08):
No, no, no, but I understand what you're doing. I
don't care.

Speaker 3 (56:11):
Yeah, but I recognize, I recognize it. It's a huge story, yeah,
of course.

Speaker 1 (56:17):
Okay, it was the biggest story in the world yesterday,
and I made sure that I prefaced not the most important, correct,
not even close to the most important thing going on
in this country and in this world. Oh, the biggest story.
Yeah it was. But I don't care, right, so you
can do. I can recognize both.

Speaker 3 (56:37):
It broke the internet, Rod, Yeah, of course it did.

Speaker 5 (56:41):
The engagement pictures were reposted more than a million times,
which is an Instagram record, and they reached that record
in only six hours.

Speaker 1 (56:50):
It's not the most viewed Instagram picture of all time.

Speaker 5 (56:53):
There is a whole list of the twenty most liked
posts on Instagram, but technically it hasn't been there long
enough to be on this list, but it is on
this list.

Speaker 1 (57:00):
The last time I heard people talking about the most
liked picture, it was a Selena Gomez picture. It was
years ago and it was her sip in a pepsi.

Speaker 3 (57:08):
I'll see if it's on the list.

Speaker 1 (57:09):
It was at one time the most liked to pick
Do you remember that alex or No, wasn't there an
egg that was the most liked picture for It might
have been did it try? Somebody tried, like somebody was
trying to you know, it's like those guys trying to
get more likes for a pickle than nickelback. Yeah, or
something like that. All right, well, listen, good for them.

Speaker 5 (57:29):
In other news, everything is fake, especially when it comes
to Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson, who allegedly faked their romance.
A sources finally come forward saying that their romance was
just a classic Hollywood PR stunt to sell tickets for
their movie, The Naked Gun reboot. The source said, quote,
their chemistry was real on camera, but off it was

(57:50):
strictly business.

Speaker 3 (57:51):
Pam's a pro, Liam's a pro.

Speaker 5 (57:54):
They were leaning into the rumors because they knew it
would get attention for the movie.

Speaker 4 (57:57):
Right.

Speaker 1 (57:58):
No, we're not mad at this, right? No, I'm not mad?
Is anybody mad?

Speaker 3 (58:02):
I still have a glimmer of hope that maybe they
just like tried, you know.

Speaker 1 (58:08):
Yeah, maybe the movie is a spoofy, silly movie.

Speaker 3 (58:13):
Okay, so it just every whatever.

Speaker 1 (58:16):
I don't know what color flag that is. It's just
I don't believe it. Flag fake fake flags. We're going
off everywhere.

Speaker 3 (58:22):
New fallout Boy. We can all get behind that, right.

Speaker 5 (58:25):

alternate acoustic versions of songs. It's got some remixes on there,

the air.

Speaker 3 (59:02):

us shout out some awesome teachers, and we are taking

to do their best. iHeart is honoring teachers. Andrea is
now eligible for a Grand Prize thanks to Donor's Choice.

(59:31):

Adam Gauntier who was the singer of Three Days Grace

Now he's back and there's two lead singers in Three
Days Grace and Adam is back in the fold and

(01:00:37):
they're out touring with two lead singers.

Speaker 4 (01:00:38):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
Still have not come through Houston yet, so we haven't
gotten to see this new incarnation of Three Days Grace,
and I'm ready for it, man, I can't wait for
them to decide to come down and do something with us.
Good Morning, rod Ryan's Show. Halfway part of the show.
People are we even talking about Throwback Thursday. Alex's gonna

(01:00:59):

do something music related?

Speaker 16 (01:01:04):
You can?

Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
It would be nice.

Speaker 4 (01:01:07):
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:01:07):
Let me take a look at the vote. Oh oh,
and it's low voting guys. All right, I know that
we've been busy. We've been busy summer of summer. Sissler
coming up. It's a game that the winner is going
to receive two hundred and fifty dollars, and we're gonna
congratulate them. I'm making it to the final four by
giving them a cash from Shell Federal Credit Union. And
then you're a couple of games out from winning five

(01:01:28):
thousand dollars. Kingwood takes on Dayton coming up. How you
got one hit? One direction? Here? Moe say. It's a
letter to her mom.

Speaker 6 (01:01:44):
How so Webb.

Speaker 1 (01:01:46):
She's telling her mom that she's everything's fine. I'm okay,
I'm out on my own here for the first time.
It's Tracy Bonham.

Speaker 6 (01:01:55):
Mother, mother, I Lisa just a folk up to eat

My camp I'm.

Speaker 18 (01:02:35):
Your I'm hungry, I'm dirty, I'm losing my mind.

Speaker 1 (01:02:46):
Really angsty, really nineteen ninety six. This one. This song's
even a little bit older. This came out a couple
of years previous. This is before my radio station in
Buffalo switch fully to an alternative station. The buzz was
just getting ready to flip, and this new kind of
music was coming out and they were like blending it

(01:03:08):
in with the rock stuff and like Meat Puppets, what
is this all about? This is the biggest song that
the Meat Puppets put out. It's called Backwater. It was
a big song for them. Kirk Cobain loved them. He
invited them to that Unplugged in New York album and
the Kirkwood Brothers are on a couple of songs on

(01:03:29):
that album. He really loved the Meat Puppets.

Speaker 10 (01:03:32):
You're right, here's a back.

Speaker 1 (01:03:39):
All right, Tracy Bottom, what you heard? She's in first place?
Really fifty four percent of the vote. Meat Puppets you're
listening to now thirty nine percent of the vote. This
song's getting killed and it deserves better. I'm gonna have
to let this one play out too, because it takes
a while to get going. But it's good man, and
you're thinking of the sweeteners Splendor, It's not it's Splendor

(01:04:04):
and yeah whatever, but Splendor in Boston? What's that listening
to Splendor when you're in boss Splendor?

Speaker 6 (01:04:14):
A few down on.

Speaker 1 (01:04:26):
This song's great?

Speaker 4 (01:04:27):
You pretend to.

Speaker 1 (01:04:37):
What, Yeah this is this is all nineties. I mean
that's there's the nineties. They just said it. Yeah whatever,
that's the late nineties. Yeah whatever. Yeah, this is a
great representation of late nineties. Those three. This one, the
song is getting killed. It deserves more votes, for sure.

(01:04:59):
You can vote. I'm the world famous Rod Ryan Show
page at the buzz dot Com. I wouldn't mind either
any of those. I'm surprised that Tracy Bonham is in
such a lead, but super low votes, so voting needs
to happen. Step it up. Eric and Kingwood, I see

(01:05:21):
nobody in the batter's box yet sometimes Hilly has him
ready to go. By now, Eric in Kingwood is going
to take on Terry from Dayton. We'll talk about their
path on how they got here. And how they are
each one song away, one victory away from winning cash
from Shell Federal Credit Union. Suburb Summer Sizzler coming up

(01:05:44):
after the break.

Speaker 16 (01:05:45):

fifty dollars from Shell Federal Credit Union. So we got

Speaker 1 (01:07:44):
All right, Terry, welcome back, you made it this far.
How did you get here? Terry? I know how you
got here. You played you played Johnny and Cyprus, and
he guessed wrong on Possum Kingdom of the Toadies. The
song played for like three minutes before somebody said their name.

(01:08:05):
So then you advanced. Then you took on Rebecca, I think,
and Rebecca guessed wrong on that Stone Temple pilot song.
So you've been kingwooding your way in here? Or is
it not king Wooding? What's that guy from yesterday? I
keep getting the mistake because I got Kingwood coming up?

(01:08:26):
Where was the guy from yesterday?

Speaker 3 (01:08:28):
Oh, the one that just what was his name?

Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
A second, because Kingwood's on the phone with me. This

and rumbling your way through this tournament, but Eric's been
working over here. Eric, welcome back. Sorry, I keep getting
Kingwood wrong. That's the swingers got you. Eric, good morning. Yeah, yeah,
but I'm not a swinger yet. Stop the swinger thing. Eric,

I'm waiting. Sure he hasn't called me.

Speaker 4 (01:09:08):
Yet I'm freaking out. Man.

Speaker 1 (01:09:13):
Should we should we talk about that first game of years?
Or do we not want to upset alex?

Speaker 7 (01:09:18):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:09:19):
We can talk about it.

Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
Okay, they played last night. The band's name is Bush.
That song was called come Down. Nobody got it in
the in the opening bracket in that early round, nobody
knew come Down by Bush. Then I think the Foo
fighters were on afterwards. Michelle guessed wrong. So Eric slid

(01:09:41):
his way into the Sweet sixteen. Then he worked his
way into the Grade eight because he got that Evanescence song. Right.
Does that sound about right? Dude? It's correct. Lynch was,
Fitch was good man. Nch could have usually won this
whole thing. He knows the song. Yeah, one point nine seconds.
He got that bring Me to Life Evan. Since that's scary. Okay, Hey,

(01:10:03):
Terry in Dayton, Yes, sure, you're not gonna humble, bumble
and stumble your way on this one.

Speaker 4 (01:10:09):
You gotta.

Speaker 1 (01:10:12):
All right listen, go ahead, Terry. I'm trying every day.

Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
I've been quising myself, so I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (01:10:21):
You've been practicing, Eric, I have been practicing. Okay, suburb
Summer Siszler, Mom, you're listening for Terry and Eric to
yell out their name. Shout out your name when you
think you know the band and the song title. Both
of those two things, Terry, we had to have both
of them. Same for you, Eric, we have to have
both of those things. It's the twenty seventh matchup in

(01:10:46):
the suburb of Summer Sissler, twenty twenty five, brought to
us by Shell Federal Credit Union. One final time, Eric,

Speaker 1 (01:11:24):
What's the name of the song, Terry. Now, then it's
over far behind. It is far behind, and you got
it in after the buzzer. After she made a move.

Speaker 3 (01:11:38):
Though she did try.

Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
She wanted to show that she deserved it. You deserved
to be in the grade eight, no doubt about it.
Eric did not make a move on that song. Interesting,
I didn't know it. I appreciate the honest Terry. We
got to say goodbye to you. You're a great player,

(01:12:00):
all right, Thanks brother Ron, thank you, Terry, thank you.
Eric slides his way in to the final four, and
you got two hundred and fifty dollars cash. My man,
whoa awesome? Do you know the song now or still?
I recognized it? I just I couldn't. I couldn't remember.

Speaker 4 (01:12:21):
Candlebox, that was what it was.

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
Okay, that was hard. I knew that one, did you?
I did? Honest one, I don't know. I knew both things.
I thought that one was fairly easy. Dude, final four,
two hundred and fifty dollars. You're a couple of games
away from winning five grand now, dude, keep studying Kingwood

(01:12:43):
in it to win it. It's Candlebox, it's far behind.
We're playing again tomorrow for two hundred and fifty dollars cash.
It's the buzz, okay, ninety four or five? The buzz
people aren't tell me that was not an easy song.
That's candle Box and far behind.

Speaker 3 (01:13:05):
No, I can't ask you to ask me, but I
never heard that song.

Speaker 1 (01:13:08):
A difficulty level for you ten being the most difficult
song in the tournament? One being smells like teen Spirit
or enter Sandman. What what's the difficulty level on that? Alex?
What's say?

Speaker 3 (01:13:18):
I was in the middle, brod thought it was super easy.

Speaker 1 (01:13:22):
And rod has. But I'm being convinced that I'm being
convinced that's an eight difficult. I mean, if you don't
know the band, then yeah, it's very difficult. If we do,
then no, it's not. It's this. This is a knowledge
based game, is it not? Is your knowledgeable then you're
gonna know all. Hector brings up a good point. You
gotta go back to yesterday's game. Okay, that would have

(01:13:45):
been the second song. Oh right, right, right, right, right right.
So I wonder how those guys feel.

Speaker 7 (01:13:51):
Kenneth and Michael if they had gotten over two, I
would have just they would have both kicked out and it.

Speaker 1 (01:13:55):
Was Yeah, I'm being led to believe that that would
have been a second difficult song for them to tomorrow.
Have they not gotten it?

Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
Michael?

Speaker 1 (01:14:07):
Okay, I guess I got to talk to Chile now
and see where we're at. There should be one more final,
one more great eight game, is that correct? Chillay? Yeah?

Speaker 12 (01:14:16):
Tomorrow who plays uh Alyssa from Deer Park taking on
Leslie from Lamark?

Speaker 1 (01:14:22):
Okay, so winner of that goes into the final four.

Speaker 13 (01:14:25):
Yeah, so winner of that would FaZe Eric.

Speaker 1 (01:14:29):
Okay, And then Monday when we come back. Nope, we're
not here Monday, I mean Tuesday.

Speaker 12 (01:14:34):
When we come back, it'll be Tenneth and Raphael facing
off to see who goes to the championship.

Speaker 1 (01:14:41):
Okay, so let me play this out again. Tomorrow is
a final four. Tomorrow's winner goes to the final four.
Tomorrow's winner gets two hundred and fifty dollars. We're off
on Monday. Then you got games on Tuesday and Wednesday,
and that determines who's playing the last game of the
year on Thursday. E of the year on Thursday for
five thousand dollars. Okay, Yeah, that's it's exciting. I mean,

(01:15:05):
it's exciting to come back after the long weekend. It is,
and it's kind of timed out perfectly, thank you, Rod. Yeah,
it is.

Speaker 11 (01:15:14):
And uh.

Speaker 12 (01:15:20):
Song I remember because I was a freshman in high school.
Huh when it came out and that was the first
song that a girl broke my heart to.

Speaker 4 (01:15:28):
And then I.

Speaker 13 (01:15:30):
Remember it because she let me for behind.

Speaker 3 (01:15:35):
Say your name?

Speaker 1 (01:15:35):
Where is that? Horror?

Speaker 4 (01:15:38):
Man?

Speaker 1 (01:15:38):
I can't it hurts too much. You know what do
you actually do you have any contact with her? Are
you Facebook friends with her?

Speaker 4 (01:15:44):
Nah?

Speaker 7 (01:15:45):
No?

Speaker 13 (01:15:45):
No, No, we were cool.

Speaker 1 (01:15:46):
We were cool.

Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
We were will find her.

Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
I hate her. I don't hate her, I do I do.
I just dislike her.

Speaker 3 (01:15:54):
I'm just disappointed by her.

Speaker 1 (01:15:59):
Just cut off the phone.

Speaker 13 (01:16:04):
And it was before texting. It was before texting, so
it was notes past.

Speaker 1 (01:16:10):
Sorry. You know.

Speaker 12 (01:16:11):
It was just one of those certain like you know,
says circle yes or no, and I didn't get no answer.

Speaker 13 (01:16:17):
I was like, no, I didn't put a C on
there for none of the but just a m B
yes or no.

Speaker 1 (01:16:23):
It's cold, it's cold.

Speaker 13 (01:16:24):
It went to the trash.

Speaker 1 (01:16:25):
I was like, oh, you thirty, Ashley, one more game, Ashley,
That's what he said. Her name, Her name was Ashley.

Speaker 12 (01:16:33):
Yeah, that's why I don't like Ashley's with an I
with an I E Y or e I G H
e y she spelled it, yeah, with.

Speaker 3 (01:16:41):
The I E A g H g very texas of
her E I G H.

Speaker 1 (01:16:47):
Actually I G all right.

Speaker 13 (01:16:50):
She used to ride horses all.

Speaker 3 (01:16:52):
Of the E I G H talk about it, but
it just was every detail of her life.

Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
Yeah, it's like, I'll never tell you, Okay, it was Ashley.

Speaker 13 (01:17:00):
Here's I mean, great BADUNKA don't.

Speaker 1 (01:17:05):
At least he's still saying nice days.

Speaker 3 (01:17:07):
About jack Girl.

Speaker 1 (01:17:08):
All right, here's the all American Rejackson, Dirty Little Secret
ninety four or five. It must be the buzz ninety
four five, the Buzz All American rejects, Dirty Little Secret,
rod Ryan Show throw Back Thursday. Geez, we're so busy.
Let's take a look at the voting here. Tracy Bonham's
mother mother forty seven percent of the vote, Meet Puppets,

(01:17:30):
Backwater forty one percent of the vote. We got a race,
all right. That's what makes it really interesting when these
when these songs get really really close. Splendor, yeah whatever,
just being there's that one song that's always left like
Chili far behind with eigh I will never be worst.

(01:17:51):
Splendor only has ten percent of the vote, So it
really is a two horse race right now. So thank
you so much for voting, and then I kind of
you this morning. It's a good problem to have. Yesterday
was the Shine Doown concert, and I know we gave
away a ton of tickets. We had talked about it
for a long long time, and we had that opportunity.
We had people that met Bush. Did you get pictures

(01:18:11):
with Bush? Sometimes I'm not really beating people up for
the meet and greet because sometimes they'll have a photographer
there and they're like, hey, we'll get you the picture,
and they don't want people fumbling around with their cameras
and stuff. So I don't know exactly how it went
backstage with Bush, but I know we sent people back
to meet Gavin, and apparently our listeners were on stage
last night. I heard that, which is really nice. So

(01:18:35):
so many of you have so many great pictures from
the show. Last night, my inbox was just packed. So
what I asked of you? Look at Blake Thomas sent
me a picture. There's Gavin in the audience, right in
front of some little kid. Now, several ladies that listened
to the show informed me that Gavin never took his

(01:18:57):
shirt off. I don't know, is he finally sixty years
old or whenever he is, and he's not taking because
the dude's still in wicked shape. The dude still can
go out there on the pitch and play a full
soccer game. They said, he didn't take a shirt off. Sorry,
not sorry.

Speaker 3 (01:19:13):
He doesn't turn sixty till the end of October.

Speaker 1 (01:19:16):
Okay, so I know he was close. So the dude's
still in ridiculous shape. Oh my God, I want my
money back. He didn't take a shirt off. Gavin is
running around in the in the crowd last night. Now
we've seen that before at Woodlands, but I didn't know
he's going to do that at the Toyota Center. Like,
you don't see that kind of interaction that much at

(01:19:36):
the Toyota Center. So great pictures, guys, I just I
had so many of them. Thank you. I'm asking you
to please get on our Facebook page and drop them
where where everybody's putting their pictures. It's really fun to
look at everything. Really makes me feel like I missed
one of the jealous really makes me feel like I
missed one of the best shows of the year. Radio

(01:19:57):
Wizard was there, like right in the very very front.
Facebook links and guests, all the socials. Hey, Hi, everybody

(01:20:20):

Speaker 9 (01:20:21):
The rod Ryan Morning Show six am, The Buzz, come
on ninety four or five The Buzz, Good Morning, rod
Ryan Show Throwback Thursday, Tracy Bonham's mother mother has a
slight lead steal over the Meat Puppets.

Speaker 1 (01:20:37):
Backwater Splendor doesn't really have a shot at this point.
I don't think it does. Forty seven percent Tracy Bonham
forty one percent Meat Puppets. You have to vote on
the world Famous Rod Ryan Show page at Thebuzz dot com.
Got blue October tickets coming up for you. They got
two shows coming up at the seven one to three
Music Hall. We'll give you. Tickets to the November fourteenth

(01:20:59):
show are available at ticketmaster dot com. And then Alex
has been talking about the Koogs. He's going to talk
about the Kougs too, coming up, but they're playing tonight
and we've got tickets to that. So twenty percent chance
of rain partly cloudy him ninety four. Most got to
lead with some sad news from.

Speaker 3 (01:21:15):
Yesterday, Yes thank you.

Speaker 5 (01:21:17):
An eight year old and a ten year old sitting
in pews were killed when a shooter opened fire through
the windows of a church at the Catholic School in
Minneapolis yesterday morning. Seventeen others were injured in the shooting
a during a mass that marks the first week of school.
All of those injured are expected to survive. The shooter
died at the scene from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

(01:21:37):
The investigation into the motive continues today. It was announced
yesterday that the director of the CDC and several other
top officials are leaving the agency. This CDC director was
just sworn in on July thirty first, so it is
a very dramatic shake up at the nation's top public
health agency.

Speaker 1 (01:21:57):
July thirty first, they were sworn in. Okay, hey, great,
you got a new job, check it out. Boom, and
then you don't even make it a month.

Speaker 5 (01:22:04):
So it gets weirder because the Health and Human Services
Department announced her departure yesterday, thanking her for her dedicated
service to the American people. But her attorney spoke out
and stated that she has not actually been fired. She
has not stepped down, She is not resigning. So there's
a lot of confusion about her exact status and what's
going on. Wow, Tomorrow is the twentieth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina,

(01:22:26):
and I know that that day hits extra significantly for
lots of folks around here in the Houston area.

Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
Brod someone emailed us about the show that's on. Is
it Netflix? Yeah, I said they watch part of it.

Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
Eli the Ice Cube Kicker, He said he started watching
it and he said it's good. So Netflix has that on.
I imagine there's a ton of stuff on. I just
I can't keep up. But being the twentieth year, I
think everyone's gonna step up the coverage of her Hurricane Katrina.

(01:23:01):
And I know ABC, which we have on running in
the background for no other reason than that's the channel
that's on. Robin Roberts is doing some special that starts tomorrow.
So I guess tomorrow is the anniversary of the landfall.

Speaker 3 (01:23:13):
I was going to say, how did they pick the date?

Speaker 1 (01:23:15):
Yeah, so landfall. I believe tomorrow is the anniversary all
hell broke loose when those levees broke right, That's when
the trouble really began. It wasn't so much the storm itself.
It was the surge and what happened to the levees
that filled the city for the water.

Speaker 3 (01:23:33):
It's just horrible, and we know how scary water is.

Speaker 5 (01:23:36):
But this new study that I saw this morning asked
Americans the scariest natural disaster.

Speaker 1 (01:23:44):
It's a weird pole question.

Speaker 5 (01:23:46):
It was weird hurricanes came in fourth. Number one was tornadoes.

Speaker 1 (01:23:53):
Do more tornadoes happen than hurricanes? Of course they're more frequent, And.

Speaker 3 (01:23:58):
They said it's more chaotic when it comes to like
like not knowing that it's coming. Yeah, which I guess
I kind of get.

Speaker 5 (01:24:07):
The list, is insane, tsunami's earthquake, hurricane, wildfire's number five,
flash flood, heat wave, or drought, blizzard, mud slide on
the list? You're number one, not on the list? Think, yes,
it's not on your rud. No one else is scared
of that's except for you.

Speaker 1 (01:24:24):
Is that a natural disaster? It seems is a sinkhole?
Considered that, Alex, it's not.

Speaker 3 (01:24:30):
Yeah, I don't know. I'm not a scientist. Can you
help me out with this next story?

Speaker 5 (01:24:34):
Because Bill Belichick's girlfriend just filed to trademark the phrase
gold digger.

Speaker 3 (01:24:41):
That's not her phrase.

Speaker 1 (01:24:42):
It's not her phrase.

Speaker 3 (01:24:43):
Can she trademark it?

Speaker 1 (01:24:44):
I don't know how that works, Alex asked, asked the
same thing earlier today. I guess if you prove that
you're doing something with it, and no one else has said,
I want to grab this up.

Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
What she's trying to do. She's trying to use it
for a jewelry and key chain line.

Speaker 5 (01:25:03):
Okay, appears she's cashing in on their relationship age gap
that I thought she didn't want to talk about.

Speaker 3 (01:25:10):
But this is her.

Speaker 1 (01:25:10):
You can just get rich off. Why not four Yeah,
she's kind of I mean this whole time with Bill Belichick.
Whether it's whatever it is, she's going to monetize this.
She does seem to be pretty smart. She does seem
to be pretty smart. Bless her heart, or at least
trying to come across as being there.

Speaker 3 (01:25:32):
Let's go with that.

Speaker 5 (01:25:33):
Let's talk about jelly Roll because he did make a
huge announcement. I know, y'all love yourself some jelly roll.

Speaker 3 (01:25:37):
He has now lost two hundred pounds.

Speaker 1 (01:25:40):
Good for him.

Speaker 5 (01:25:40):
And he's tooting around on a little e scooter. That's
the big news in his world. He said he was
overseas for his first European tour out with Post Malone
Aaron Berlin, and he's scooting around the city because he's
actually skinny enough to be able to ride an e scooter.
He said he hasn't done so in like ten years.
It was huge for him, and we know that skydiving
is next on his bucket list. He's got a little
bit more weight to lose. The we're cheering for you, Jelly.

(01:26:03):
Those are Houston's headlines.

Speaker 7 (01:26:06):
Taking alex the Astro's gotta win. Last night they shout
out the Rockies, sport and nothing. They're gonna wrap up
their series with the Rockies this afternoon. Jason Alexander's gonna
be on the mound for this shows going up against
Colorado's Kyle Freeland.

Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
First pitches at one to ten.

Speaker 7 (01:26:18):

Speaker 1 (01:26:34):
That is what's going on in sports Win some Koog's
tickets today on Mow the show before we get out
of here, and I am gonna call him a hero.
I took some of that time that you guys were
chatting to take a look at what truck driver Carlos
sent us today for the Fixtagram Thursday. How's he do
He's a hero. He is a hero. Wow, great job today.

(01:26:57):
Thank you of us Rock and Alter The rod Ryan
Morning Show. I'm six to ten am, ninety four or
five the buzz, Good morning rod Ryan's Show. On this
throwback Thursday, thank you so much for not only having
a zomb But today's one of those days and I'm
hoping and you guys have really come through. I'm hoping
that you guys like interact with us a lot, fresh

(01:27:20):
out of bad head to head, read my lips. People
calling in starting even with that first phone call today,
but voting for the Throwback Thursday song that's going to
be played coming up at nine point thirty, submitting the
Instagram feature, which is always our number one link today.

(01:27:44):
more votes coming in. Tracy Bonham mother mother, forty six
percent of the vote. Meet Puppets, Backwater forty three percent
of the vote, Splendor Yeah whatever, ten percent of the vote.
Good songs today, Also the interaction. All the stuff that
you guys are doing on our Facebook page today. You're
uploading videos and pictures. We're the only four idiots that

(01:28:07):
didn't go to that concert last night. Even the Wizard
was there. I mean, I didn't get this much for offspring.
It just seems maybe it's just because we're here the
next day. But I got a ton of offspring, and
I met a ton of people when I was out there.
Couldn't take two steps without saying hello to somebody. It
was great. Everybody was at that show last night. Thank you.

(01:28:31):
And everybody was taking pictures and videos and they're sharing
them with us, and from people that saw Shining Down
ten times or people that saw Shining Down for the
very first time, they're all kind of raving about it.
One guy, Oh, I'll look for it. One guy said
the sound was terrible. Really yeah, he said it was
too loud. Did anybody else have that experience?

Speaker 4 (01:28:51):
It's too loud?

Speaker 1 (01:28:51):
Too old pound I got a T shirt that says
that it's a kiss shirt. If it's too loud, you're
too old. He said the sound was horrible. Uh, only
one person said that. Anyone else want to add on
to that, and then I'll go dig his email out
if it if it was an issue, maybe he was
just having a sensitive hearing day. Most got very sensitive ears, so.

Speaker 3 (01:29:12):
I take a ear protection to concerts.

Speaker 1 (01:29:15):
Like a Wooz country shows loud Have you ever been
to show.

Speaker 3 (01:29:18):
The loud shows?

Speaker 4 (01:29:20):
The lap?

Speaker 1 (01:29:21):
What's the loudest? Is it easy? At the top of
your head?

Speaker 3 (01:29:24):
I can really loud?

Speaker 1 (01:29:27):
Yeah? Yeah? Was it where you were sitting? Were you
by a stack of speakers? Maybe maybe act on the floor.

Speaker 3 (01:29:33):
He just puts on a fire show.

Speaker 1 (01:29:36):
Yeah, yeah, a d loudest thing I ever heard in
my life. I mean the loudest thing I ever heard
in my life. And then back in the day, I
remember specifically a Motley Crue concert that he was just
distorted and the volume. Yeah, And I'm thinking to how
this guy described in his email yesterday. He just said,

(01:29:57):
what am I? Who's the sound guy here? Like? Why
isn't everybody complaining about this? He walked, He walked into
the concourse. After three or four songs, he said he
couldn't take it. He must have been buying some speakers though, too.

Speaker 7 (01:30:09):
I saw Cage the Elephant at a festival and it
was like there was something wrong with the speakers. But
it was the lads kinds. Because my ears were just
ringing for four days afterwards. Yeah, it's also loud on
stage because I saw a Milkie Chance on the exact
same stage before and there was no problem.

Speaker 4 (01:30:27):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:30:27):
Yeah, I feel like I've been to a tool concert
where I had some ringing years afterwards. That would be
your favorite cool I said, thank you guys for interacting
with us, and I kind of had that come back
and bite me a little bit today. What happened I
put up Sometimes I put up some questions early in
the morning. Sometimes it's four thirty and I just I'll
just put stuff up there. What's the most useless job

(01:30:49):
that people are paid for? My Philly's Heart. A couple
of times there was the radio they said that.

Speaker 3 (01:30:57):
It's funny.

Speaker 1 (01:30:59):
Mike, Okay, I put it up. I gotta I asked
for it. I mean radio DJ came up more than once.
The question is what's the what's the most useless job
that people are paid for? And then sometimes I will
put up, uh, you know, something to get people started.
The first thing that came to my head this morning
and I'm gathering everything for the show, I'm still sleepy

(01:31:21):
and stuff. I have a problem with people that put
up reaction videos. I think it's the laziest thing ever.
It's just it's it's a video playing and then there's
a guy superimposing himself on top of it. It's always
a guy, and it's like a guy. It's just like
looking at it now, I was, I do know who
you're talking about. Apparently the guy that makes the most

(01:31:43):
money on YouTube is that black kid that just looks
at things and he just like he makes that face
and he goes, this is so easy, just do it
this way. And he just puts his hands out and
he goes, here's the video, and here's this. He makes
the most money on TikTok the ones that drive me.
It's a reaction video, and he really does. I think

(01:32:05):
he kind of sometimes does what they're doing in the video,
so at least he does a little work. I am
talking about fulling somebody that is superimposing their face on
a video and they're just making faces. Wow, there's like
I saw it. But we all know, and I know,
and I know they're monetizing it. And you know, you

(01:32:26):
could easily tell me, well, Rod, shut up, why don't
you go and do it? If you know, if you
think it's so easy, I don't feel like it. I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:32:31):
I don't want people to make so.

Speaker 1 (01:32:33):
Anyways, I put that on there, and you know, I
probably hurt that person's feeling that does those videos because
I know what it felt like to see people write
DJ down and radio DJ and morning show host. I
saw it more than once on there. I'm like, Jesus Christ,
this is on our Facebook page. I left it on
there too.

Speaker 7 (01:32:49):
When they go and like, it'll be plenty of my
age and think, oh me, I'm listening to Sweet Caroline
for the first time, and they always have something over
the top reaction.

Speaker 1 (01:32:58):
There's no chance it's the first time you've heard that,
or it's just some very very popular song. Well there's
no way you didn't hear that. So in the same breath,
the number one thing on there was what influencers. Okay, okay,
we live in that world, and influencing is just you know,
putting content online and people are paid to promote things

(01:33:20):
to their followers.

Speaker 3 (01:33:21):
Right and they're getting paid because we are actually buying
that stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:33:24):
That is a huge way and a huge usage of
advertising dollars right now. But I know people are frustrated
by it. Yeah, I understood. That was the number one answer.
Really that's the number one. It's influencing influencers. What about
but the people that are really making money at it.
You know, there are people that are making a living
and making a lot of them more than all of

(01:33:45):
us combined. Okay, there are people, But then there's influencers
that we all know that they're just doing it to
do it, and they're trying to get some traction and
probably are not getting paid for some of the stuff
that they're doing.

Speaker 3 (01:33:58):
Do it makes you happy? Yeah, songs that doesn't hurt
anyone else.

Speaker 1 (01:34:01):
Multi level marketing telemarketer Number number two answer was politicians
bathroom attendance. Bathroom attendance came up to several. Man, you
offer me a mint, I don't want a mint.

Speaker 3 (01:34:13):
Man, I can grab a towel, and I don't have
money to give you.

Speaker 1 (01:34:16):
But do you see anybody that reads this now, I'm
realizing because I'm on the receiving end, I'm having my
feelings hurt.

Speaker 3 (01:34:22):
You know, so you should have thought about it before
you post.

Speaker 1 (01:34:24):
So, if I'm the and this was mentioned, if I'm
the guy spinning the sign outside.

Speaker 7 (01:34:28):
Of that store, you're just trying to Sometimes they pay
like twenty hours an hour for family.

Speaker 1 (01:34:35):
Some people are really good at it.

Speaker 3 (01:34:37):
I've seen a good one.

Speaker 1 (01:34:37):
Sometimes it's really good, and I think there is some
sign spinning, like World Championship in Vegas. They're good at it,
