President Trump met with congressional leaders yesterday before today's deadline
to try and figure out a deal.

I guess Republicans have put together a resolution, Democrats pushing
to include some.

Extensions that they would like.

Speaker 6 (01:50):
Government agencies are already preparing for the shutdown because if
no agreement is reached, non essential federal workers are going
to be furloughed. Rumors saying that those furloughed government workers
are not going to get their jobs back like they
have in the past during other shutdowns. I know the
last one we had was in twenty eighteen, and it
was the longest in US history, lasting thirty five days.

Another crazy story, after more than three decades, Austin police
investigators identified a serial killer that has now passed away
a dead serial killer as the man they believed is
responsible for the nineteen ninety one yogurt shop murders.

I don't. I've seen it on the news. I did
not know about this story.

You know, one of the crime junkies you go to
listen to all those podcasts. So I guess they're thinking
advancements in DNA testing ballistics evidence that linked this guy
to the scene and to another previously unsolved murder. He
died by suicide back in nineteen ninety nine. But it
was quite the day for those local families.

up on the screen and I think he had like
on the like a back of a truck or a billboard.

So safe, I don't mind giving you my social And
it was his social So I don't know how that's
not the most abused social Security number, but at least
forty thousand different people went after a social security number
that belonged to a secretary at a wallet company back

in the day. In nineteen thirty eight, social security cards
were brand new, and the secretary's boss wanted people to
see how your social would look inside the wallets they
were selling, so they used her social security card for
all their advertising. Every one of their wallets came with
a sample social Security card, and it was her her card.

They just ran off copies of her card and included
it in all the wallets that they sold. Oh over
forty thousand people tried to get after that back in

government agencies are already prepping for the shutdown. Most non

This is the thing that's infuriating to me. I've mentioned
this before. It's just it's so important for each side
to blame the other one for the shutdown. The only

is the Republicans absolutely, it's them. They're the reason that
