Highs of around ninety three. Good morning, moh.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Was the government shutting down?

Speaker 5 (01:30):
I think today's the deadline?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah? Yes.

Speaker 6 (01:34):
President Trump met with congressional leaders yesterday before today's deadline
to try and figure out a deal.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
They left without one.

Speaker 6 (01:42):
I guess Republicans have put together a resolution, Democrats pushing
to include some.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
Extensions that they would like.

Speaker 6 (01:50):
Government agencies are already preparing for the shutdown because if
no agreement is reached, non essential federal workers are going
to be furloughed. Rumors saying that those furloughed government workers
are not going to get their jobs back like they
have in the past during other shutdowns. I know the
last one we had was in twenty eighteen, and it
was the longest in US history, lasting thirty five days.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
We'll see what happens.

Speaker 6 (02:15):
Another crazy story, after more than three decades, Austin police
investigators identified a serial killer that has now passed away
a dead serial killer as the man they believed is
responsible for the nineteen ninety one yogurt shop murders.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
Do you remember this out of Austin.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
I don't. I've seen it on the news. I did
not know about this story.

Speaker 6 (02:37):
You know, one of the crime junkies you go to
listen to all those podcasts. So I guess they're thinking
advancements in DNA testing ballistics evidence that linked this guy
to the scene and to another previously unsolved murder. He
died by suicide back in nineteen ninety nine. But it
was quite the day for those local families.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Karen Harry, Karen, Karen, wantn't you do that? Why didn't
you do that? He's alarming, but disarming man are really
very charming.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Karen.

Speaker 6 (03:12):
Yeah, there's a new Karen in sports. So it happened
a couple games ago Met Life, and it involved Patrick Mahomes.
He was trying to give his headband to a child
fan after the Chiefs beat the Giants last week. Okay,
Karen and her man posted a video they're leaving the game.

(03:32):
They're bragging about how Mahomes came right up to her
handed her his headband.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
Clearly the video shows otherwise.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Oh there's video.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
That's when the Internet tore into this lady, and that's
why it keeps going because she now is blaming other
people for not speaking up when it happened.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Did you take it from a kid? She did? Did
the kid have possession of it? Easy giants fan. She's
an asshole, she is.

Speaker 6 (03:58):
She suggested that we need to make our young boys
tougher anyways, and to make things worse.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
She keeps posting these follow up videos.

Speaker 6 (04:06):
Finally, the attitude settles down in the latest video, but
she's just sorry she got caught.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Chili has this whole thing on fur lea we saw
gotay he didn't get to it. Fascinate. He's got a
full link up on Links and Guests Today.

Speaker 6 (04:21):
Yes, sad news in the entertainment world. Nicole Kidman and
Keith Urban have split after nineteen years of marriage. It
doesn't sound like anyone's fouled for divorce yet, but the
rumors are swirling.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
Most point out that Nichole has been.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
Spotted wearing her ring at an event just days ago,
and she was trying to save her marriage. The separation
isn't a total surprise. There were some rumors that Nicole
had filed an application for Portuguese residency without Keith Urban's
name on it, but nineteen years in Hollywood. Marriage is
pretty impressive. All right, Let's talk about Axel Rose. He's

(04:59):
got some main character energy, right, sure. He's been transformed
into a half human half robot in a new graphic novel.
They're calling it cyberpunk graphic novel. It's called Axl Rose
Appetite for Destruction.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Is it young Axel like with the long hair and stuff,
or is it like this new older says?

Speaker 6 (05:20):
The story follows Old He's looking for answers into a
deadly conspiracy, one that could decide the fate of humanity itself.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Comes out in January.

Speaker 6 (05:30):
You can pre order it now for thirty nine to
ninety nine if you're up for a good read.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
Those are Houston's headline.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
I want welcome to the jungle Axle with the hairspray
and everything.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
That's the actual you need to save the world.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
That's the guy that could fight crime. All right, Monday
night football, you.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Have me in a doubleheader last night.

Speaker 7 (05:47):
In the first game of Dolphins got by the Jets
twenty seven to twenty one, and then then in the
second game, the Broncos let the Bengals.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Twenty eight to three. Bengals really missed Joe Burrow. It
sucks for them.

Speaker 7 (05:56):
They have such a promising season ahead of it with
like'll be wild card playoffs start today care or three
game series to determine who advances to the divisional series.
At noon, the Guardians played the Tigers. At two o'clock,
comes face the Padres. At five, the Yankees host the
Red Sox, and at eight, the Dodgers take on the
Red So you can watch all of the games today

(06:17):

Speaker 2 (06:19):
That is what's going on in sports. You're gonna have
to find me the judge Judy? Who cares? Who cares?
Who cares?

Speaker 4 (06:26):
That's the funniest All right, guys, Four Hours of Pain
starts right now.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Who's up? Who does care? Anyone?

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Does anyone care about the Major League Baseball playoffs?

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Cares? Judge Judy doesn't? All right?

Speaker 4 (06:43):

Uh October tomorrow. I saw an email going around Pumpkin twice.
Price is right October first. Yeah, I think we got
a locked in deal. I think we got a locked
in deal. I mean it's kind of like the whole
government shutdown thing. It could come down to the last minute,
but we're trying to get this deal done and put together, so.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
So more on that. Yeah, more on that coming up

bunch of ligaments against the Jets last night.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
It looks like his season is over.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
What did you think of those uniforms? They are right,
the Dolphins uniforms.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Yeah, it had black Dolphins uniforms so different.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
There was no attachment to the old Dolphins except for
a little bit of orange.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Yeah. I thought they were cool. And I hate the Dolphins.

Speaker 7 (11:42):
They're better than the Cardinals ones that they tracked out
there on Thursday night.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Yeah, I agree. I don't feel like everybody needs to
add new jerseys. The Dolphins have weird enough colors to
where I think it's okay.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
My favorite so far this year were the Saints with
the white helmets.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
I thought that. I thought that was so cool. I
don't know why with the white helmets rock, I don't
know why. I thought that was so neat all Right,
what else?

Speaker 7 (12:03):
Nicole Kidman's trending She and Keith Urban have separated after
nineteen years. And then government shutdown is trending. Most of
the people searching is the government going to shut down today?
But today, I think most said is the last day?

Speaker 5 (12:17):
Yeah?

fresh out of bed head to head chal listeners to
your corners.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Oh, brents.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
Marning' rod good morning to you, sir. Don't worry about
it doesn't matter what happens during those victory speeches. Just
keep winning, all right, right, all right, you don't get
dinged for the victory speeches. I mean, we'll bust your
balls a little bit, but other than that, just.

I play against other people in the morning.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
I did pretty well well. We just had a guy on,
all right.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
I just I feel like in the last couple of
days we had a guy on that just said that
he plays in the car and always wins. And it's
something's different about being on the air. Something's different. I
don't know what it is, George, but I need you
to be even quicker. I'm sure you're great playing the game. Yeah,
I need you to just shout out your name before Brent.

(15:07):
Now you are you are brand new to the game, Bush,
shout out your name when you think you know the answer.
You need two correct answers to win this.

Speaker 6 (15:17):
Ooh, we have a pair of tickets to see the
Houston Coogs in their Houston Blue uniforms. Take it on
Texas Tech Family Night Saturday, TDECU Stadium.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
Are these the uniforms Alex that kind of look like
the powder blue like love you love you?

Speaker 2 (15:32):
I thought they got in trouble for that.

Speaker 7 (15:33):
They changed like that pan Town by a little bit, Okay,
knocked it down an not.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
So they're still getting away with it though. Yeah, that's cool,
all right, that's exciting George. Again, just shout out your
name when you think you know the answer. Don't even
wait for me to finish the question. I don't care
shout out your name anytime, but you're gonna wait for
me to call on you and then you need to
give me the correct answer twice. Brent seems to be
getting the hang of this too.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
So the bluck the bluck.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
Uh mo just handed me these questions. So any uh
any complaints? M O at the buzz dot com.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Bring it up? All right? Question number one? What musical instrument? Brett,
go for it.

Speaker 8 (16:23):
We're gonna go guitar.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Did you say guitar? Yes, it's a correct answer.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
That's a correct George, don't even be mad.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
I thought you said the piccolo.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
The question reads what musical instrument is also called an
ax guitar?

Speaker 2 (16:47):
George, there wasn't much you could do about that. No
one blames you, right. As a matter of fact, George
has been nice knowing.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
You a hopefully I mean with that, are you going
to defend against that?

Speaker 2 (17:02):
I'll give him question number two.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
Question number two, Brent, and George, shout out your name
when you think you know the answer. The sleds in
the I did a rod race are pulled by teams.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
Of what.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
Brent h Yeah, I would have even taken dogs. George,
he got in there before you you were. I mean,
you hadn't fighting chance on that one. You were a
little closer. I appreciate you taking a cut and swinging
the bat. But I don't know, Brent, was we've given

(17:42):
the questions before the game, Brent, I went, I don't know,
cousin or something.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Is he doing work at the house?

Speaker 5 (17:51):
Give the questions.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Was he doing it again cleaning the pool this morning?
And you just gave the question your r hand? George,
you game, George. You deserve better than that.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
Dude.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
You can't.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
You cannot like not play again. You have to get
in another time.

Speaker 2 (18:08):

Speaker 4 (18:11):
I hope, So, George, Brent does not any way to
treat a new player.

Speaker 8 (18:17):
You gotta do what you gotta do.

there's nobody else.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
I'm not the biggest Johnny Depp fan, but boy, he
nailed that character, you know, like he it's hard to
picture anyone else in there. But there's nothing that Jim
Carrey can't do. Finally, fun facts, I'll go with this one. Hell,
wasn't there a guy that used to maybe he was
the guy that started LifeLock And when he did the

(22:35):
commercials on TV. I remember you and I talking about
this years ago. He would put his social Security number
up on the screen and I think he had like
on the like a back of a truck or a billboard.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
He'd put his social security. He said, LifeLock is.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
So safe, I don't mind giving you my social And
it was his social So I don't know how that's
not the most abused social Security number, but at least
forty thousand different people went after a social security number
that belonged to a secretary at a wallet company back

(23:08):
in the day. In nineteen thirty eight, social security cards
were brand new, and the secretary's boss wanted people to
see how your social would look inside the wallets they
were selling, so they used her social security card for
all their advertising. Every one of their wallets came with
a sample social Security card, and it was her her card.

(23:32):
They just ran off copies of her card and included
it in all the wallets that they sold. Oh over
forty thousand people tried to get after that back in
the day. That's neat, But I'm thinking the guy that
used to be on LifeLock had to beat that record
I had, and did he get hacked.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Of course he got hacked. Okay, it's the fuck back
to the day.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
We make you look smart, every bodies, it's the fuck
to the day Okay.

Speaker 2 (24:02):

by all Right, come on, come on, good morning. Hello, Hello,
who's this?

Speaker 4 (26:10):
This is Chris, Chris, welcome into the show today. I
appreciate being up early. We learned about a land animal
and it wasn't even close on the times. This land
animal can hold their breath longer than dolphins. What's the animal?

Speaker 2 (26:25):
Did a flaw?

Speaker 7 (26:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (26:26):
The slaw.

Speaker 5 (26:27):
I couldn't even believe it.

Speaker 4 (26:29):
So dolphins can hold their breath around ten minutes. Impressive. Yeah,
Sloths can hold their breath for up to forty minutes
because of that metabolism of theirs.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
They do so slow.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
Chris, you're so smart. What are you giving him?

Speaker 3 (26:43):
Chris?

Speaker 6 (26:43):
We're sending you to Alice Cooper and Judas Space. All right, friend,

You're smarter than everybody, dude. Thanks for joining us today, right,
thank you have an awesome superior being Link in Park
ninety four five, The Buzz.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
Ninety four five The Buzz, Good morning, rod Ryan Show, Wakey, Wakey,
hands off cupcake tattouesday. I got to see their Dawtry
pod tickets coming up. We are gonna talk a little
bit about the car show coming up as well. Sean
is the guy that puts this whole thing together for us.
He's agreed to come on and just give us a

(27:33):
little heads up. He's gonna give us like some.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
Of the time frame whether or not you can still
get your car in there.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
We'll find out if Chilie's gonna be bringing his Betty
White truck that anybody met Betty Waye. Have you met
him bet Betty.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
White driver too?

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Well party we were at one time. Man, Yeah you've
seen the truck. I've never seen that truck.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
All right, A lot of questions will be answered after
seven o'clock this morning.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
No rain to worry about. Partner the Claudie Skies High
eighty three most got Houston's headlines. Oh you're waiting for me?

Speaker 5 (28:00):
Yeah, I need you to play a song, all right.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
Today's the deadline.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
Today's the deadline.

Speaker 6 (28:08):
Congressional leaders and President Trump that early yesterday before today's deadline,
and they're working to fund that government.

Speaker 5 (28:16):
But they left their meeting without a deal.

Speaker 6 (28:18):
Apparently Republicans are put together a resolution, Democrats pushing to
include some extensions. No one's agreeing on things, So now
government agencies are already prepping for the shutdown. Most non
essential federal workers would be furloughed, and the rumors are
they won't be.

Speaker 5 (28:38):
Given their jobs back.

Speaker 4 (28:39):
This is the thing that's infuriating to me. I've mentioned
this before. It's just it's so important for each side
to blame the other one for the shutdown. The only
thing that Republicans care about is making sure that hey,
it's the Democrats that are the reason for this shutdown,
and then on the other side, the Democrats like it
is the Republicans absolutely, it's them. They're the reason that

(29:00):
they'd rather shut down the government than cut a deal.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
It's both sides.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
I don't care what side you are on, but that
seems to be the most important message here, not to
actually even work on a deal.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
It's just blame the other people. Blame the other person.

Speaker 4 (29:12):
That's where all the energy is right now. That's what's
frustrating about government, and that's why they both stink.

Speaker 6 (29:19):
Yeah, our last shutdown was in twenty eighteen. The longest
in US history. It lasted thirty five days. We'll see
what happened.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
There comes the email, Well, Rod, you know, I don't know.
I don't know, I don't want to know.

Speaker 6 (29:30):
We do have a community meeting here locally this morning.
It's supposed to address the growing concerns after multiple bodies
were found along our byous in the recent weeks.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
I would say growing concern is proper. That's a lot.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
It's obviously raising alarm among residents.

Speaker 6 (29:48):
Well, the councilwoman that put us all together organizing the
event stands by the fact that there is no evidence
to suggest the cases are connected. She wants to crush rumors.
Speak with her peep, and she says the meeting is
going to have facts, transparency, and it's supposed especially supposed
to help those college kids that are feeling extra unsafe

(30:08):
these days. All right, tomorrow officially October, meaning you have
permission to start Spooky Season.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
Rod.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
Is that spelled s z N season? Right? Spooky Season?

Speaker 6 (30:22):
People Magazine hired an astrologer to pair your zodiac sign
with a Halloween movie that best fits your personality.

Speaker 5 (30:32):
My favorite, Rod, have you ever seen the movie Ghostbusters?

Speaker 4 (30:36):
Of course I've seen Ghostbusters, it's a classic.

Speaker 6 (30:38):
Well you feel that way because you are a Virgo.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
So an aries doesn't like that movie.

Speaker 6 (30:45):
I mean, well it might you might like it, it's
just not the best according to your personality.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
I happen to know a Capricorn that loves that movie.
Do you know I just made that up?

Speaker 6 (30:54):
Chile's a cancer and so his movie should be It's
the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
Well there might be something to this then, yeah, because
he's the guy with the jelly beans and the candy
corn in the mouth, just saying he's the guy that
reads he's Chili Brown.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
Holy cow? Is this thing for real? What's Alex?

Speaker 5 (31:13):
Should we hire an astrologer? Alex won't tell me? What
is sinus?

Speaker 2 (31:16):
Alex?

Speaker 4 (31:16):
That was a hufflepuff? Hufflepuff is not an astrology sign.
That that's a just kidding rawlings house of something.

Speaker 6 (31:25):
I'm a Sagittarius and it says I should watch Beetlejuice.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Have you seen Beetlejuice?

Speaker 4 (31:30):
No?

Speaker 6 (31:30):
But I know it's the green guy with crazy black
and white striped outfit.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Really green, but okay.

Speaker 5 (31:36):
Oh fada juice. See I know.

Speaker 6 (31:40):
Hey, I have a story for millennials, You're gonna love it.
Reading Rainbow is back. Sadly, it's a new host, the
LeVar Burton guy. He's sixty eight and so they went
with a new younger host.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Oh, he's got to be his ass, gotta be chapped.
He loves that role, like he loves the fact that
he was a Reading Rainbow guy.

Speaker 6 (31:58):
He was the guy from nineteen eight eighty three up
until they ran reruns in two thousand and nine, Like
that was his everything.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
But I think he still wants it. You see I do.
How could you now want?

Speaker 6 (32:09):
I think he still want some TikTok guy that goes
by Michael the librarian.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Everything's got to be updated for the kids.

Speaker 6 (32:17):
Tops the celebrity guests are lining up because all the
millennials are fans. Gabrielle Unions on this list, Chrissy Teagan, Adam, Divine,
John Legend. Everyone wants to be a part of it.
Reading Rainbows back.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
And I imagine they're going to keep the door open
for LeVar to maybe drop by once in a while.

Speaker 5 (32:32):
Maybe he could be like the guy on the front porch.
It's like waven or something email.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
Like the mailman or something that knocks on the door.

Speaker 5 (32:38):
Hey, new record is broken. When it comes to music.

Speaker 6 (32:41):
The King of Country had to give up his reign
as record holder for the largest concert crowd in US history.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
This is important.

Speaker 5 (32:48):
It happened at A and M in College Station.

Speaker 6 (32:50):
Back in June of twenty twenty four, when he set
an attendance record playing in front of one hundred and
ten thousand people.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
So, George Strait is the King of Country right, yes,
supposed to let him have that record and not go
out and break it.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
How does it? I mean, I'm saying, is there an
unspoken When I.

Speaker 6 (33:05):
Tell you the person that did it, it's gonna make
sense because his name is Zach Bryan and he's kind of.

Speaker 5 (33:13):
A rebel, for lack of better.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Words, as a Brian. College Station.

Speaker 6 (33:18):
Rolling Stone report that Zach Bryan broke the record on Saturday.
He played the first ever concert in Arbor's Michigan Stadium
where the Wolverines play, and he had a one hundred
and twelve thousand people.

Speaker 7 (33:28):
So he did that on purpose, and that's the biggest
capacity in college football stadiums.

Speaker 4 (33:32):
I mean, you're not going to just sit and let
Babe Ruth have the home run record forever because he
was so important to baseball.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
Records are meant to be broken.

Speaker 5 (33:39):
Before George string It was the Grateful Dead.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
But aren't they?

Speaker 7 (33:41):
Aggie's all about tradition, and if you want the king
to be the tradition, then when you keep it that way, well.

Speaker 4 (33:48):
You don't sound like you're happy about I think Zach
Bryan's will lose.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
How you loved Zach Bryant.

Speaker 5 (33:52):
No, he's so sad all the time and he wants
to fight people.

Speaker 4 (33:55):
But do you think it's Do you not like it
because of what he did to George?

Speaker 1 (33:58):
No?

Speaker 6 (33:59):
I just didn't like him before that, and now that
it's him, I'm extra annoyed.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
So now it When you told me that the record
was broken, I assumed it was gonna be Morgan Walling.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
Isn't he the guy that gets the biggest crowd?

Speaker 6 (34:10):
He does get some big crowds, But now we have
to talk about Zach Bryant, which.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
Is so this seems to be the record to beat.
Now it is, and let's go who's gonna beat it?

Speaker 5 (34:19):
I think it's you.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
No, I can't. I can't play to a stadium of
people you don't want to. But does George Strait care
about this and will he go out?

Speaker 5 (34:27):
I don't think George Strait gives a crop.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Okay, that's that's what I'm ask him. Those are Houston's
headlines taking Alex on Monday night football. We had a
doubleheader last night and.

Speaker 7 (34:39):
The Dolphins got by the Jets twenty seven to twenty
one in the first game. In the second game, the
Broncos blew at the Bengals twenty eight to three.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
We got some baseball going on today.

Speaker 7 (34:47):
The MLB Hard Playoffs start tonight this afternoon, actually at noon,
the Guardians are going to play the Tigers. At two,
the Cubs face the Padres. At five, the Yankees host
the Red Sox, and at eight, the Dodgers take on
the Heads. You can watch all the games on ESPN
and ABC. That is what's going on in sports.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
All those games sound horrible, horrible.

Speaker 5 (35:09):
I thought I've never even had to heard this song anymore.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
Twenty sixteen was the last time we've been in this position.
This position sucks. No, it's fun postseason baseball for us
here in Houston.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
Houston's rocking alternatives The rod l This Morning Show from six
to ten AM ninety four or five, Buzz ninety four
or five the buzz great day when I come around

Just to be safe.

Speaker 4 (35:48):

a busy month.

Speaker 5 (36:22):
I'm ready.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
I'm just it's a.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
Little overwhelming to look at everything that we got going on.
There's a golf tournament in there, there's a monster.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Jam in there.

Speaker 5 (36:28):
Take it day by day.

Speaker 4 (36:29):
We might do a couple of these t shirt sales.
I know we got one lined up for Thursday. If
everybody behaves, maybe we'll do another one.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
But Saturday.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
It is our fifth annual boob Rock Charity Car Show.
Years ago, had this guy Sean come up to me
at a bar says, you know what you should do?

Speaker 2 (36:49):
Rod? I said, okay, here's another one of these wing nuts.
Really tell me what I should do?

Speaker 4 (36:54):
Okay, it's my favorite thing when I'm out, Rod, you
know what you should do?

Speaker 2 (36:58):
I'm like, here we go.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
I've only been doing this, you know, since I was
an infant. Tell me what I should do? He goes,
you should do a car show. I'm like, okay, genius,
I don't know anything about it. He goes, No, no, no,
I do I know about doing car shows. I'm like, okay,
but how do you want me to do a car show?
I don't know anything. He goes, You don't need to
know anything. He goes, I'll do it. I said, okay,
I've heard this before. What do I need to do?

(37:21):
He's like, I will do everything that you need. He goes,
but it'd be a great way to make some money.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
I go, who are you?

Speaker 4 (37:29):
He goes, I have cultivated wes Houston muscle dot com,
and I have I don't know a zillion people in
my database. He goes, I get some cars out there, Rod,
and I said, okay, so on a wing in a prayer.
I trust this guy and he pulls off this spectacular
event and he's done it for five years and he's
on the phone with us right now, Sean, does that
sound about right? How will you and I hooked up?

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Yeah? Yeah, we bet at a bar. At a bar,
He's like, you know what you should do?

Speaker 5 (37:57):
Oh god, all right, I'll sit.

Speaker 4 (37:59):
Out, go ahead, what should I do? And you were right, dude.
You do such a fantastic job with this thing. You
do it from start to scratch, start to finish, and
you put on an amazing event and let us be
the benefit, you know, the beneficiary of it. And all
the money goes to M d Anderson. This is the
fifth one? Am I correct and accounting these?

Speaker 2 (38:21):
Right?

Speaker 8 (38:22):
Yeah, it's a fifth one. But you know, I've been
doing cars just for sixteen years. I'm probably play all
over one thousand them now. I mean so, yeah, I
got this down to a science, and we're super excited
to do another Boobstrock Car Show presented by West Houston Muscle.

Speaker 4 (38:32):
Yeah, there's nobody better at putting this thing on. It's
just it's crazy how efficient he is how start to finish.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
Everybody can come out to this thing.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
It's absolutely free to come out and look at the
cars and just kind of come out and hang out
with us.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
We're all going to be hanging out there. But let's
talk about.

Speaker 4 (38:50):
Somebody that wanted to get a car in the show.
It's not too late for that either, as it choun no.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
Of course not.

Speaker 8 (38:57):
You can get a Boobs rockcarshow dot com preve register
online or you can do it day of registration opens
up at eight am and closes at eleven am, and
it's thirty bucks to enter show. You're put into the

Speaker 2 (39:16):

Speaker 4 (39:17):
Most enough do you think He's like, well, Rod, I'm
gonna need you to go get boudrocarshow dot com. And
I'm like, okay, I'll go get No, I got that already.
Like when I say that, when I say that, Chewan
thought of everything and when he really came to me,
this has never happened before when somebody said, hey, Rod,
you know what you should do. He's the only guy
that said, Okay, here's what you should do, but I
will do the whole thing for you and put it

(39:38):
on brings the whole family out, the whole thing. This
thing is going to run like a top. Now we
are out on Saturday. What time should people start rolling in?
Most of the people that are listening right now just
want to come out and see the cars. And there's cars,
there's trucks, some people slide in, some motorcycles.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
We don't care. What time should people start showing up?

Speaker 8 (39:55):
Dude, I would say nine am. You know cars are
coming in at am or checking in nine. I am coming
join the whole event with us. It's gonna be a
great weather. October is finally here. Yeah, and it is
spooky season. So you got some of that speaky weather
that nice help.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
Cooler at tempts in the morning.

Speaker 4 (40:09):
Thanks to our friends over at Mancuso Harley Davison. This
is the Crossroads location, so off of two ninety up
there by Highway six. They're so great to work with.
We take over the whole parking lot. We go over
to the back and I mean there's just it's just
car after car after car.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
It's so awesome.

Speaker 4 (40:25):
How what is the repeat business and what's the new
business when people bring out cars every year?

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Like what percentage of the cars have we seen before?

Speaker 8 (40:33):
Surprisingly, lately, I've seen a lot of new faces, just
like last year. So I love seeing that. Like I said,
all makes and models welcome. It's Scott Wheels, bring it out. Bikes, trucks,
exotic hot rods, new school, old school, anything, I mean
a bicycle, bring it out.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
It's so awesome. It's thirty dollars. What have you decided?

Speaker 4 (40:51):
Okay, I got this really nice car, and I'm waiting
to see what the weather's like because I don't want
to take it outside because if it's just give one
drop of rain on my corvette over here, know, then
it'll be ruined. Somebody decides that morning that they want
to bring the car out, can they still get it in?

Speaker 8 (41:06):
Yeah, we have plenty of time. We'll accommodate everyone and
anyone that comes out. The forecast for Saturday is you
don't want to have fomo, that's for sure.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
I so here you are.

Speaker 4 (41:17):
You're one of these guys that's got one of these
awesome vehicles. You're sitting there rubbing it with the diaper
on the weekends, and it's just you.

Speaker 2 (41:22):
Share that vehicle with all of us, let us see it.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
I mean, what's the point of having something, some awesome
car and you're not sharing it with all of us?

Speaker 2 (41:32):
I also see, and you got to tell me about
this quickly.

Speaker 4 (41:35):
I see some guys throwing for sale signs on their
cars at these things. They use it as a place
for people to see their vehicle. A lot of these
cars sometimes. I mean, I know that the old adage
everything's for sale for the right price, but it's interesting
to see some of these cars that guys are ready
to sell them.

Speaker 8 (41:52):
Yeah, if we're ready to find a new owner, look,
our cars are the best place to do it. And
our cars was the best place to find community and
new friends as well.

Speaker 4 (41:58):
Yeah, and again, seventeen years for West Houston muscle dot com.
How many people you got on that website?

currently evaluing which talent agency she will be going with.
And yeah, other actors like this is not fair, No,
don't do this, which again I'm agreeing with them.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
Don't do this. She's not a real person, a real person,
don't put them in movies. And she has a bidding
war happening with talent agencies.

Speaker 7 (46:33):
Two, they can put her in a million movies and
like you don't have to. You know what it might

Speaker 2 (49:17):
Oh, that's awesome to it. Thank you, Thanks for hanging out.
This was the last time you washed the car.

Speaker 4 (49:21):
Probably didn't have somebody to do it for you, all right,
Thank you, Thank you, brother. I appreciate all those years.
I don't mean to just like brush that off. When
somebody says that, it really means the world to me.
It really does that you've been listening for that long.
Twenty fourteen, that's a long time. I mean, Astros weren't

(49:42):
the playoff probably that year too. There is some rough
years back then. We went through some rough years around here.
Twenty sixteen was the last time we hadn't made the playoffs.
But boy, those years before that, I was here for
those one hundred lost seasons. Yes, all right, who those
were rough years. All right, guys, a really good food

(50:05):
blog page up today.

Speaker 5 (50:06):
Don't do it?

Speaker 4 (50:09):
What is the most ordered steak in America?

Speaker 2 (50:16):
Mo?

Speaker 4 (50:17):
What's the most ordered steak? The cut, the actual steak.
What is the most ordered steak in America?

Speaker 11 (50:23):
What?

Speaker 5 (50:24):
Filet Mignon. That's my final answer.

Speaker 2 (50:26):
File a Mignon not number one.

Speaker 5 (50:31):
I don't even really know what that means. Is that
the bacon around it?

Speaker 2 (50:34):
Filet Mignon's real thick one. Yeah, real thick one.

Speaker 4 (50:38):
And like I'm the guy that's like, uh, I'm the
guy at the table. It's like, you can go ahead
and butterfly that because it's a little thick. It's going
to take too long to get it.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
You know, you don't like a thick medium.

Speaker 5 (50:47):
Plus that's where we differ.

Speaker 4 (50:49):
It just takes a long time. What's the most popular?
What's the most ordered steak in America?

Speaker 2 (50:53):
Alex? Show me? Wait a minute, you didn't do show
me the ribbi?

Speaker 4 (51:06):
Yeah, yeah, it's it's it's it's a little fatty, but
I mean on the grill and that my bad. It
renders that fat and it's like ribbi because it's a
reasonable cut of steak.

Speaker 7 (51:17):
Too, I was gonna say that, or New York Strip
just because that's also a pretty reasonable one.

Speaker 4 (51:22):
Ribbis are the most ordered steak in America. Where did
I get this information? From the food blog page that
I never talk about. There's a food blog page that
goes up every single day.

Speaker 5 (51:31):
When we talk about it, we get really hungry.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
That's it.

Speaker 4 (51:33):
Yeah, fifty of us order Rabbis sirloin is next with
forty six percent, then Filet mignon, then New York Strip.
So you guys kind of mentioned all the big ones.
You know, old people. Old people love prime rib is
good though, if you're on a cruise maybe, or if
you're at like some sort of a Sunday brunch and

(51:55):
there's a carving station, Yeah, it seems to be like ribbi.
It seems to be kind of like prime Ribby.

Speaker 2 (52:03):
You know, it's pretty safe, be good.

Speaker 4 (52:06):
I'm gonna need I'm gonna need that piece on the
end there. I need the end piece because some of
that ribby stuff in the middle or some I'm sorry,
some of that prime rib in the middle.

Speaker 2 (52:16):
It's a little red for me.

Speaker 5 (52:19):
How do you order your steak.

Speaker 2 (52:22):
Medium plus? Okay, I don't want to be shunned for medium.

Speaker 4 (52:27):
Well, so I try to suck it up medium hush.

Speaker 2 (52:35):
The other thing.

Speaker 4 (52:35):
The other thing is on the food blog page today
and maybe not big.

Speaker 2 (52:39):
Enough to trend. Like you know, Colonel Sanders was a real.

Speaker 5 (52:42):
Guy, yeah right from Kentucky.

Speaker 4 (52:44):
Yeah, Kentucky fried chicken guy. His great great grandnephew says
that uh KFC blocked him. He was complaining about them.
He doesn't like this whole new Colonel Sanders looking thing.

Speaker 5 (53:00):
Redid the look?

Speaker 2 (53:01):
Yes, I thought it.

Speaker 4 (53:01):
Was cool when they were putting all those Hollywood actors
in there as Colonel Sanders.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
I thought that was.

Speaker 4 (53:08):
It was just a bunch of different ones. But he
doesn't like them sexualizing Colonel Sanders.

Speaker 2 (53:13):
So he's been complaining.

Speaker 4 (53:15):
His TikTok handle is at real Colonel Sanders, and his
whole feed is about him. How he's distantly related to
the real Colonel Sanders, and he wants to protect his
family's legacy.

Speaker 2 (53:29):
He's been added for years and he's going viral.

Speaker 4 (53:34):
He believes the brand has spent the last decade sexualizing
Colonel Sanders in the marketing campaigns, and it's kind of
real playful stuff.

Speaker 2 (53:42):
I don't see where.

Speaker 4 (53:43):
The problem is, but he's not my great great grandfather either,
So KFC is sick of dealing with him. They blocked
him on social media, so he responded by leaking the
secret chicken recipe with the with the eleven herbs and spices.

Speaker 2 (54:01):
Doesn't actually know it includes measurements.

Speaker 4 (54:06):
He says it's based on both publicly available info and
stuff that hasn't been relieved and stuff that's been only
passed down through the family, and him being the great
great great nephew of the great Colonel Sanders, the eleven
the if you've always been waiting for.

Speaker 2 (54:22):
This, this is probably a big deal for maybe one
person on the planet.

Speaker 4 (54:25):
According to him, the eleven spices because our whole lives
we've heard about the secret spices.

Speaker 2 (54:32):
The eleven KFC chicken.

Speaker 4 (54:36):
KFC spices are sage, garlic, powder, cardamom, cayenne, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, coriander, ginger,
white pepper.

Speaker 2 (54:46):
And black pepper. Now we all know how much well.

Speaker 5 (54:52):
A real Colonel Sanders.

Speaker 2 (54:53):
He also has some measurements out there.

Speaker 4 (54:55):
Maybe this guy's legit, but he seems to be just
kind of clinging to this little bit of fame that
he has.

Speaker 5 (55:01):
I can't take him seriously, look.

Speaker 4 (55:03):
At him, and KFC thought enough to ban this guy.
This is just some of the stuff and then all
the steak information, all that. It's all on the food
blog page. There's a food blog page at Thebuzz dot
com ninety four five The Buzz.

Speaker 2 (55:19):
Good morning, rod Ryan's show.

Speaker 4 (55:21):
Maybe my favorite Nirvana so one of my favorite Nirvana songs,
Come as you are, good morning.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
I hope you're off to a great start to your day.

Speaker 4 (55:27):
Thank you guys for sharing all these hashtag Houston sunrise pictures.
It's awesome looking outside. It'd be cool to have a
window man, all right, enough on that.

Speaker 2 (55:37):
Day like this. How many years now?

Speaker 4 (55:39):
How many years here, Alex and no, no, no, how
many years in this building being in the inside here?
It might be it might be, Stacy says, check the
tape and most that she likes it thick.

Speaker 5 (55:54):
I don't know what you're talking about.

Speaker 2 (55:55):
I think you did say something about liking it thick.

Speaker 4 (55:58):
Right, Well, I don't know how. I don't know how
old David. Now, listen, I did accuse it really is?
I mean, that's a I did just throw that out there.
Boomers love Prime rib. I'm sorry this isn't even like
picking on boomers. It's just a popular a popular choice
at restaurants for older people.

Speaker 2 (56:14):
The key demo skews a little. Older seniors are more
likely to order Prime Rib than any other demo.

Speaker 4 (56:21):
David Prohaska says, Texas Roadhouse Baby, Prime Rib, medium, Rare, Delshes.

Speaker 6 (56:26):
Oh my husband gets with both horse Radish.

Speaker 2 (56:30):
Okay, love it.

Speaker 5 (56:33):
We love Roadhouse.

Speaker 4 (56:34):
But okay, the other fun fact that I got, you know,
I'm what I prepared more for the show today than
just talking about steak all morning.

Speaker 5 (56:41):
Hurry, we get really distracted when we talk about food.

Speaker 2 (56:44):
Over and I'm done after this.

Speaker 4 (56:46):
Over ninety percent of steak dinners are ordered outback Applebee's,
Texas Roadhouse Boom, that's where people are getting their steaks
these days.

Speaker 5 (56:56):
Pendable O, my gosh, the rolls.

Speaker 4 (57:51):
Claude Sky's a little bit warmer. Highs up around ninety three.
Most got Houston's headlines this shop.

Speaker 2 (58:01):
It's their fault. No, it's the other one's fault. No,
it's their fault. No, the other one's fault.

Speaker 5 (58:06):
You don't even name me when you've got that.

Speaker 2 (58:08):
I just want to know. I just want you to know.
It's their fault.

Speaker 5 (58:11):
Everybody's fault, but the other guy.

Speaker 6 (58:13):
H Congressional leaders in Trump met early yesterday before today's
deadline to fund the government. They left without a deal.
Republicans have put together a resolution. Democrats are pushing to
include extensions. Yep, no one's agreeing on anything. Agencies government
agencies already prepping for the shutdown because if no agreement
is reached, the most non essential federal workers will be

(58:36):
furloughed and most likely not getting.

Speaker 5 (58:38):
Their jobs back.

Speaker 2 (58:39):
That ain't cool, It's horrible.

Speaker 6 (58:42):
The last one we had in twenty eighteen, the longest
in US history, lasted thirty five days. After more than
three decades, Austin police investigators have identified a dead serial
killer as the man they believe is responsible for the
nineteen ninety one one unsolved quadruple murder in Austin, known

(59:04):
across the country as the Yogurt Shop murders.

Speaker 4 (59:07):
Now, this was something that was put together as like
a murder porn TV show.

Speaker 5 (59:13):
Did you know about podcasts, the unsolved mysteries?

Speaker 2 (59:15):
Did you know about it before that? Yes? You did.

Speaker 5 (59:18):
Yeah, So when we got this news, we were like,
what they're saying.

Speaker 6 (59:21):
Advancements in DNA testing, ballistics evidence linked this guy to
the scene and to another previously unsolved murder.

Speaker 5 (59:31):
He died by suicide beck in nineteen ninety nine.

Speaker 6 (59:35):
But we do have a little bit of peace for
these families that have been waiting for answers for so long.

Speaker 7 (59:40):
Karen Karrien, Karen Harol Pary Parry wanted you know that.

Speaker 2 (59:46):
Why did you do that? Terry? He's alarming, but disarming
man are really very charming. Mind Karen Poor karens New Karen.

Speaker 6 (59:56):
We do in the sports world might even be worse
than Philly Karen. This Karen is a New York Giants fan.
She swiped Patrick Mahomes headband right on the hands of
a little kid at MetLife Stadium after the Chiefs beat
the Giants last week. Her and her man posted a
video they were leaving the game. They were bragging about
how Mahomes came right up to her to hand her

(01:00:17):
as headband.

Speaker 5 (01:00:18):
He would never do that. She was wearing a Giant shirt.

Speaker 6 (01:00:21):
The video clearly shows he was trying to hand it
to a kid.

Speaker 5 (01:00:26):
When she grows on.

Speaker 11 (01:00:27):
The internet.

Speaker 6 (01:00:30):
Tore her apart, and then she came back. This is
why it's still trending. She came back trying to blame
everyone else for not speaking up in the moment. And
she came back again trying to remove her attitude.

Speaker 5 (01:00:44):
But no, sorry girl, Giants and costs.

Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
So horrible getting the headband.

Speaker 6 (01:00:53):
Let's talk about Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. They have
split after nineteen years of marriage. It doesn't sound like
anyone's filed for divorce just yet, but the rumor mills
are swirling. They do point out the fact that Nicole
was spotted wearing her wedding ring at an event just
a couple of days ago. The rumor issue was trying
to save her marriage, but they've been limping apart.

Speaker 5 (01:01:14):
Since the summer. Keith was on tour.

Speaker 6 (01:01:17):
Not a total surprise because there have also been some
rumors that Nicole filed an application for Portuguese residency and
didn't include Keith Urban's name on those documents, So who
knows what's going on for them, But said, nineteen years
of marriage in Hollywood is pretty impressive.

Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
You think she's hot, okay, man, Yeah, she's pretty.

Speaker 5 (01:01:38):
She's pretty.

Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
She's pretty. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, there's no denying that.
Kind of like a mannequin though, right, like a lad. Yeah,
I can see.

Speaker 4 (01:01:47):
It's like saying, like a mannequin's hot. It's not like
a mannequin. It's like it's like a mannequin. Yeah, it's
not like a hot mannequin. It's just good looking.

Speaker 5 (01:01:54):
They were sweet together? Is he hot together? They were great?
Is he he's charming?

Speaker 6 (01:02:01):
Which I think sometimes does it for him, and then
the accent, I don't like long.

Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
Hair though he's supposed to be a really good guitar player, right,
like he's.

Speaker 5 (01:02:08):
Supposed to be like super best of the best.

Speaker 6 (01:02:10):
Yeah, yeah, Okay, let's talk about Axel Rose and this
last story, because there's a new graphic novel series and
Axl Rose is the main character. He's been transformed into
some half human half robot character and it follows him
around as he looks for answers into a deadly conspiracy,

(01:02:30):
one that could decide the fate of humanity itself.

Speaker 2 (01:02:33):
You know where you are.

Speaker 5 (01:02:36):

He's going to be there as well.

Speaker 4 (01:04:46):
We're all going to be out at the Boobs Rock
Lunch at Willy's Grill and Ice House. I say this
because you can come out, buy a boobs Rock T
shirt and get a free lunch, including a bag of
chips and drink. Now we'll have all these things bagged
up and ready to go. It was our first time
working with Willies on something like this. I've done other
things with Willies. I have all the faith in the
world that they're gonna be able to pull this off.

(01:05:09):
It's all happening on Thursday from noon until two. You
come on buy you buy a boob Rock T shirt.
And we'll get you a free lunch. You got a
toasted buffalo club You've got uh. They call it this
the founder's favorite. It's the founder's favorite item. It's a
double meat, double cheese kid burger with all the toppings.

(01:05:31):
You get the chips in the drink, and then there's
a buffalo bakedato. It's like a baked potato stuff with
I don't know, tossed in buffalo sauce. I might get
the baked potato.

Speaker 2 (01:05:40):
I had a baked potato, didn't I talk?

Speaker 4 (01:05:42):
Didn't I rave about having a baked potato a couple
weeks ago? Yeah, I couldn't believe how good it was.
Maybe for my birthday, yep. So I haven't had one
since August. I'm due for a baked potato. God, it
was so I'm telling you, I couldn't believe. I think
I came in here and just talked about it for
an hour.

Speaker 5 (01:05:57):
It was a while.

Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
How good that baked potato.

Speaker 6 (01:05:59):
Where we had to go potatoes ourselves because you talked
about it so much.

Speaker 4 (01:06:02):
But I mean, fat boy put the butter in the
sour cream. Yeah, all right, So Miguel's set up outside.
You buy the T shirt you say high mode. You
say hi to Chili, there's Alex, congratulations on the new kid,
and then maybe get around to saying hi to me.
You grab your lunch and you can hang out and
eat and chill with us, or get back to you know,

(01:06:25):
get back to the grind.

Speaker 5 (01:06:26):
Yeah, we get it.

Speaker 4 (01:06:27):
I know some of you got to get back to
work right away, So I'm cool with that. Nineteen nine
oh five, Katie Freeway. This is Chili's hood. Chili, you
said it's right there. I ten and Fry Road. I
think that's what you said yesterday, just to make it
real easy on people.

Speaker 5 (01:06:43):
That's where Chili and I went for lunch recently.

Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, they're awesome. Now, they're so great to
work with. Over there, Hi, Chili, what's up? Yeah, it's
right there, man.

Speaker 14 (01:06:53):
I take in the Fry Road or thank you in
the target in Pittsbourn parking Lot.

Speaker 4 (01:06:57):
Now, I'm just gonna throw this on there because I'm
giving you a lot of information today starting tomorrow, at
all the Willies grill and ice house locations. Okay, they've
got a mocktail called the Pink Lady. For every Pink
Lady sold, one dollar will be donated to the rod
Ryan Shokeers Foundation. We got a chance to make some

(01:07:18):
real money here. You're gonna be going to Willi's at
some point during the month.

Speaker 2 (01:07:22):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:07:24):
So the cocktail is kind of like a strawberry Piloma
Paloma strawberry grapefruit juice. Now, if you want to add
booze to it, you can, but you don't. This is
the mocktail. So the kiddos can get in on this too.
Everybody can order this, but they'll gladly if you're of age,
they'll put some booze in this thing for you, which
it sounds delicious. The Pink Lady will be available all

(01:07:47):
month at all the area locations, and we get a
buck for everyone sold that. They're going to kick that
in and we're going to use that for the check
that we write to M.

Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
D Anderson.

Speaker 4 (01:07:56):
So Willies is really on top of it. They're really
helping us out all month long. So it's a huge deal.
So I hope to see you guys out on Thursday.
I get it. It's not close to where everybody works.
It's a pretty big city. It's pretty sprawling city here.
We're gonna start there. If it goes well, if most

(01:08:17):
says okay, maybe we'll do another one. Be on your best,
bab If it goes well, you know, I mean Den
from BMP.

do all of that. It's a lot. It's a lot.

it since twenty nineteen, so I'm super excited about it.

Speaker 2 (01:08:34):

I do. I do have everything we need. Mo I
want you. I want to get your thinking.

or north. You go fifty nine. It's at the east.

different names? And then is it fifty nine? Is it
sixty nine? Which one is it? Right? Yeah?

nine Southwest Freeway, the six' ten.

like what people on the.

Speaker 2 (01:43:27):
Street can come up.

Speaker 4 (01:43:28):
With you don't need to be like, this because we've

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
