Speaker 5 (03:33):
Don't worry if you didn't get that information. We're going
to back it all up all morning long.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
That's all right, hey. President Trump announced yesterday that the
US seized a large oil tanker off the coast of Venezuelia.
Trump called it the largest tanker ever seized by the
US and said it happened for a quote very good reason.
So apparently this tanker has been under US sanctions for
years because it was part of a network that shipped
oil between Venezuela and Iran. Official say, that's a sports
(04:00):
foreign terrorist groups. It's we live in an oil and
gas city. This is huge, very large crude container holds
up to two million barrels of oil, and it was
headed for Cuba. Very very interesting story. You're going to
be hearing a lot about that today. I don't necessarily
want to put this out there or put anyone on edge,
but I just want you to be aware that today
(04:23):
is the most popular day of the year to break up.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
Well, I thought it was after the new year, like
the day after the copping season. That's the well, no
cuffing season goes all the way to Valentine's.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Day, but maybe you can't stand them after lawyers.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
Lawyers would always say that right after the New Year,
divorce week fresh So this is like, hey, I don't
want to I don't think I want to spend money
on you for Christmas, so I can't see you anyone.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
That's kind of the things a lot. It's based on
data from Facebook. Remember we used to change your relationship
status and I guess there was a huge spike. But
even today online daters three and four are reporting experiencing
breakup during the Christmas season. They're calling it the Christmas layoff.
Not too close to the holidays for it to be
really cool, but far enough that you could skip buying
(05:08):
the presents unless you avoid all of the awkward family
conversation with the Christmas that always seems so much more
serious than they actually Sometimes, how.
Speaker 7 (05:15):
Many people do you think get divorced just so they
don't have to buy the like they've been.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Thinking about it, like, you know what, divorce, I don't
want to get that first.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
Well, that's what they say after the New Year, because
you're just trying to get through it for the family,
and then the divorce happens like that first week of January.
Speaker 6 (05:29):
That's rough, but yeah, financially, yeah, get on get out
of that relationship today.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Anytime you see Andy Dick's name in the news, you
kind of worry a little bit. Apparently, he suffered an
overdose on Tuesday and broad daylight outside of building in Hollywood.
Someone that was around him administered Narcan and he didn't
need to go to the hospital. He says he's okay
because TMZ released a video clip of the whole situation,
and then they met with Andy at his apartment where
(05:55):
he was alive but wasted. Doing the interview, he told
TMZ he had smoked crack with some guy he just met,
and that's what happened. Andy's fifty nine. He's been in
and out of rehab and jail a million times over
the years. You obviously always wish the best for this guy.
But he's got to want to help himself.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
I'm sure there's people out there that have tried to
help him. I'm just maddening he doesn't want the help.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Sharon Osborne speaking out about her last moments with Ozzie
before he died. She did a new interview and revealed
a lot of details about the night before he died.
She said he was up and down going to the
bathroom at about four thirty am. He asked, Sharon, you know,
are you awake and she was like yes, and then
he asked her to kiss him and hug him tight.
Speaker 6 (06:39):
Oh boy.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Later that morning he went downstairs to work out. That's
where he died. She did say in the last few
weeks of his life, following everything with that back in
the beginning show that he did, he was happier than
he's been in she said seven years.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
But she also said, if only I have told him
I loved him more, and only I had held him tighter.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
Oh jeez, I know that's brutal.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Those are Houston's lines.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
Yeah, that full story. You want to see more of that,
that's on the music blog page today.

pulled around in these red wagons, I mean, and then
they got little tablets and stuff to keep them busy.
And this is all the money that they need to

Speaker 5 (22:19):
When you do you rock out with your stock out,
You're talking on the most listened to radio station iHeart
Radio station in.
Speaker 6 (22:27):
The state of Texas. That's pretty awesome. That's pretty awesome.
Speaker 5 (22:30):
But adding to the awesomeness, it's Day one of our
Saint Jude Radiothon presented by Gallery Furniture. We're looking for
partners in hope. We're looking for and I get it.
It's a heck of a time to ask because everyone's
stretching their money and you're Christmas and all that we're
asking for nineteen dollars per month to become a partner
in hope to make it possible for Saint Jude to
care for some of the world's sickest kids.
Speaker 6 (22:50):
I've been there, I've been on campus. It's an unbelievable place.
No money comes out of the parents' pockets and they
get the best treatment in the world. One eight hundred
and five eight eight four teen thirty three. One eight
hundred five eight eight fourteen thirty three, one eight hundred
five eight eight fourteen thirty three.
Speaker 5 (23:07):
That call comes right here to our call central here
at iHeart Houston. And we've got some great volunteers that
are that are standing by.
Speaker 12 (23:16):

head to head Hall of Fame number ten.
Speaker 13 (23:31):

so that everyone's fill in the tournament.
Speaker 9 (23:38):
You're welcome.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
Speaking of another.
Speaker 11 (23:40):

in the final four and it's time to make that
push to the big game. Join me on Wednesday, December seventeenth,
when I take on either the Goat or Arthur. The

fat of the day.
Speaker 5 (24:19):
I've got some fun facts today dealing with a Charlie
Brown Christmas right now. This is the one that you
got to kind of track down Apple TV.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Yeah, somehow watch it as the rights they bought it.
Speaker 6 (24:31):
To it, Yeah, and I don't know if you can
track it down anywhere else, but they.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
Did a couple free like times you could watch it.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
There was some kind of an arrangement that you had
for the first couple of years. You had to allow
it on one of the networks.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
One time.
Speaker 6 (24:44):
Now I think Apple lets you get in there for
free to watch it, But then there were time they
want subscription.
Speaker 5 (24:49):
It's officially been sixty years since a Charlie Brown Christmas debuted.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
This is in the.
Speaker 6 (25:03):
Do you remember this from it?
Speaker 5 (25:05):
It's hark the Herald Angels sing, the kids singing on
this song and the Christmas time is here when they're skating.
They weren't the child actors that were in the movie.
They were from Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in San Rafael, California.
(25:27):
So they were taken to a recording studio in San
Francisco they recorded the two songs. They were given no money,
but they were given ice cream.
Speaker 6 (25:38):
They never got a penny.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Like a donation of the church or something.
Speaker 5 (25:46):
Nothing nothing, okay. Has gone on to make millions and
millions of dollars over the years, and to anyone's knowledge,
a donation or no money has ever gone to the
church or to the kids.
Speaker 6 (25:59):
That's Sam on the show. Wild fun fact reason being, Oh,
there was only a seventy six thousand.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
Dollars budget to get the whole thing made.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
No budget, that is fun, Sorry kids.
Speaker 6 (26:17):
But Charlie Brown Christmas got completed.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
The air date was December ninth, nineteen sixty five. They
didn't wrap up everything until ten days before it was
supposed to be on the air.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
That's neat.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
There's a million fun facts around this thing. But Coca
Cola and CBS. Coca Cola sprung the money seventy six
thousand dollars for CBS. They both looked at it beforehand.
They had ten days. They couldn't make any of the
changes they wanted. They didn't like it neither. Once CBS
or Coca Cola both did not like what they saw.
Speaker 6 (26:54):
They still aired it and it.
Speaker 5 (26:56):
Was watched by forty five percent of all television viewers
that year.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
It's the fuck back to the day.
Speaker 6 (27:03):
We make you look smart in funny every body?
Speaker 3 (27:06):
Is this the fuck back to the day?
Speaker 6 (27:08):
I think I gave you thirty fun facts in there.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
I want more, Charlie Brown, I can go on, but
I can't because I don't have the time.
Speaker 6 (27:13):
What are you giving away?

Welcome back everybody, brod Ryan shows what you're listening to.
Sally said, people might not know what you're asking for.
They might not know what a farrule is because it's
pronounced feral like Colin Farrell, Really ferrel? That is my
question today.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
It's sure, all right.
Speaker 6 (29:21):
Farrule feral, however you say it, I don't know. I
just learned what it was.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
Robin, Good morning, Good morning, Hi Robin farrule feral?
Speaker 6 (29:32):
What?
Speaker 1 (29:33):

Speaker 12 (29:36):
Well, that's interesting.
Speaker 17 (29:37):
It's a piece of metal.

On a pencil that holds your writer and it also
holds the bristles to a brush.

Oh my gosh, you're so smart. So glad we have
people like you.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Is it all trying to get through this together?
Speaker 6 (29:48):
Is it pronounced feral or farrule?
Speaker 8 (29:50):
Do you know that?
Speaker 7 (29:51):
Robin?
Speaker 15 (29:52):
Well, yesterday I thought you.

Saint Jude for treatment for travel, housing, food. Also, they

kids to the number six two six two six two.
Then click that link that Saint Jude is going to
send you. National news, the Federal Reserve cut its key
interest rate by a quarter of a percentage point yesterday.
That doesn't seem like much, but it's a third cut
this year, which is the big headline. The vote was
(31:22):
ninety three, the most no votes on a rate cut
in the Fed since twenty nineteen, so they're very split
among how officials think rate should go next. The chair
said the cuts were made to help the job market,
which has been slowing down. Hey, we're surrounded by treats
this time of year, but I have to tell you
about the most recent viral TikTok trends that had me
(31:44):
checking it twice. Vanilla ice cream doused in red one.
That's it. It's nothing crazy, like you don't have follow recipe.
It's literally vanilla ice cream with red wine porn on
top of that, any particular wine, just red wine in general?
Speaker 8 (31:59):
Is it a hab?
Speaker 3 (32:01):
I mean when I think of red wine, I'm thinking
like a right. I think that's my favorite.
Speaker 19 (32:05):
Right.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
I don't know, But wouldn't it be better if it
was more like fruity forward, Like I don't know something.
Speaker 6 (32:12):
Go ahead, dazzle us with your knowledge.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
You don't have any knowledge, saying Gria. Maybe that's what
I'm thinking.
Speaker 6 (32:17):
Bartles and James now that I can get behind.
Speaker 3 (32:23):
Reviews are a little bit mixed, but it I mean,
I think it ruins your ice cream. Maybe we're just
spoiled with bluebell. It also ruins your wine. But people
are saying it's the dessert of the holidays. So I
had to tell you about it.
Speaker 5 (32:33):
Okay, there's a link up on the world famous Rod
Ryan Show blog page at the buzz dot com.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
You want to try it? No, okay, neither? Hey, big
news out of power Ball The jackpot jumped to a
b jawlers. It's now worth one billion dollars. Nobody matched
all six numbers and last night's drawling. Last night's was
two or nine hundred and thirty million, So the grand
prize winner will roll over to Saturday's drawling when a
(32:59):
two powerball ticket which someone told us they were more
than two dollars, but the story always says two dollars.
That powerball ticket could be worth a billion before Texas.
So whoever wins gets to choose the entire amount over
thirty installments or take the one time cash amount of
about four hundred and sixty million. Do you need gas rod,
you're gonna go in the gas station.
Speaker 6 (33:17):
I just got guessed yesterday and I forgot about this
whole business.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Yeah, okay, well now you have a minute. I'll remind
you again tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (33:25):
Yeah, it's a billion.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
So it got me involved. This last story. Normally I
would never cover because Sundance Festival just doesn't seem like
something that I would be interested in, right, I don't.
I can't relate to that, but hear me out. The
twenty twenty six festival coming up in January and February.
There's a bunch of music related films that are slated
to premiere. Charlie XCX, she's very popular poppy music, right.
(33:48):
She has a mockumentary coming out following the rise of
a pop star, so she's probably making fun of how
that whole process is. But another one that I was
interested in is the new Courtney Love documentary. Interesting anti
hair hair whoa win? Not this drug? Like the hero
a girl that's a hero?
Speaker 6 (34:06):
He hero win?
Speaker 13 (34:07):
Right?
Speaker 3 (34:09):
This summer looks at just like the Beastie Boys and
Sonic Youth. And then there's also a Wu Tang Clan
Sundance film that's coming out. I don't know a lot
of music stuff. If you're in there, it Hey, those
are Houston's headlines. Take it.

partner in Hope and just wanted to say hello to
all of us. Also, Nonah, my neighbor in Richmond. I
don't really know she's my neighbor. But she also became
a partner in Hope, and she dedicated her donation to
her great niece, So of course you want to send
extra love to miss Nona. And then Jane in Cyprus,
(37:25):
also listening right now, became a partner in Hope, pledging
just nineteen dollars a month to help the kids at
Saint Jude facing cancer.
Speaker 5 (37:32):
Families never receive a bill. What I learned, You know,
I went there last year and I was on campus,
I was in Saint Jude. I was at Saint Jude,
and I'm walking around and the things that I learned.
Speaker 6 (37:44):
But you see patients, You see these little patients and
these little bald heads everywhere and I don't know. I
mean cause I'm talking to both of you now.
Speaker 5 (37:54):
Since you've had children, do you put your kid in
stories that you see on tea?
Speaker 6 (38:00):
You put your kid into stories and things, and when.
Speaker 5 (38:02):
You think about, God, my kid is healthy, and it's
not coming from a bragging standpoint, it's coming from a jeez,
I could easily be here. You know, you say you're
gonna have a kid, it's a gamble. You don't know
what's gonna happen with that kid that comes out. And
the fact that families never receive a bill from Saint
Jude for treatment, travel, housing, food. All they do is
(38:28):
take everything off those parents plate and they're like, let's
just focus on keeping your child alive. They've helped push
the overall survival rate. In the time that Saint Jude
has been around. Since nineteen sixty two, the survival rate
for a kid that had cancer was about twenty percent.
Because of the work that Saint Jude is doing, they
(38:48):
pushed it to over eighty percent. They want they will
not stop. They do not want one child ever dying
from cancer ever. Again, these kids are getting the best
chance it's to live by going through the treatment at
Saint Jude.
Speaker 3 (39:03):
It's it.
Speaker 5 (39:04):
It's like no other place on earth that I've ever been.
So we're asking you again, did we get the twenty seven?
And did we get the twenty seven in the six
to seven o'clock hour? Did they give us a number
if we have that tally yet? Okay, because they've already
just given us. Here's the seven o'clock hour. This is
what you got, and they want more.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
Let's go.
Speaker 6 (39:23):
They want more.
Speaker 5 (39:23):
They're so motivated over there, So call one eight hundred
five eight eight fourteen thirty three, nineteen dollars a month,

work they do. One eight hundred five eight eight fourteen
thirty three. One eight hundred five eight eight fourteen thirty three.

Alex Radiothon, Yeah, sending you would like to become a

Speaker 3 (41:00):

I got a second, Yes, I just wanted to give
an update. Over twenty one thousand dollars came in that
first hour. Wow, So the toe board presented by Oak
Harvest Financial Group twenty one thousand, seven hundred.
Speaker 6 (41:16):
And five dollars. Thank you, guys. That's that's those are

So we need thirty new partners and hope nineteen dollars
a month again one eight hundred and five, eight eight,
fourteen thirty three.
Speaker 8 (41:43):
What else?
Speaker 7 (41:44):
Times Person of the Year is trending. It's the architects
of AI. They are Times personally.
Speaker 3 (41:53):
How do you feel about that, Alex, don't love it?
I don't love it.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
Here?
Speaker 3 (42:01):
Yeah, it is here, it's here. Cool. These are the
people that designs going to kill us.
Speaker 6 (42:05):
Initially, well, yeah, it's gonna get rid of your job. Yes.
Speaker 7 (42:09):
What else, Jolly Rowl, Yeah, got invited to perform at
the Grand Ole Opry by Craig Morgan.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
Who's Tracy Morgan's.
Speaker 9 (42:19):
No.
Speaker 3 (42:19):
Absolutely, and he was really excited.
Speaker 5 (42:23):
About it that way, can I I'm just gonna go
with the verbiage that you used, and I'm gonna need
more to clear this.
Speaker 3 (42:28):
Up by me.
Speaker 5 (42:29):
Was he invited to perform at the Grand Ole Opry
or was he invited to become a member of the
Grand Old Opry?
Speaker 3 (42:36):
Is that a difference? Yes, difference. So becoming a member
is like a commitment to perform so many times throughout
the year and just like really get involved with the
Grand Ole Opry so he can perform there and not
be a member. So do you know what he was given?
Because I'm not sure I didn't.
Speaker 6 (42:50):
It happened during that Joe Rogan, right, yeah. I think
he was recording a Joe Rogan podcast and the word
came down and he.
Speaker 3 (42:56):
Just he lost it. I guess.
Speaker 6 (42:58):
I mean, if you're a country music artist, which he's
a crossover guy, does everything, but that's like the ultimate
that the ten ultimate thing that you could have been
asked to do. So all right, we'll clear that up.
Was he I think he was invited to become a member.
Speaker 9 (43:10):
So cool?
Speaker 6 (43:10):
Yeah, I think that was. I think that's why it's
such a big tale deal because he's been on the
stage before, so he's I know it's been I know
it's a member because he has performed there already.
Speaker 12 (43:18):
There you go.
Speaker 6 (43:19):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
Okay, well that's a good stuff.
Speaker 6 (43:20):
That's just training and if profight it. Buzz but I
said to semi words, Yeah I did.

I need thirty new people to step up to give
nineteen dollars per month to make it possible for Saint
Jude to give amazing care to some of the sickest
kids in the world. And the families never receive a bill.
Speaker 5 (44:55):
That's why they need your money because the families, the
kids that get treated, they're getting the best treatment on
the planet. Travel, housing, food, You know, you got a
little kid there, you got to have a parent there
at all times. So the parents get to stay on campus.
A parent gets to stay there and again that's covered
by Saint Jude. So the travel the housing, the food.
(45:16):
All you have to do is focus on helping their child.
Speaker 9 (45:20):
You know.
Speaker 5 (45:21):

Speaker 3 (47:01):

It was in the late nineties where alternative radio, what
everything was on the air at the same time you
had this, You had Sky, had Fat Boy Slim, then
you had like mainstream rock kind of sounding things.
Speaker 3 (49:04):

In other news, a national news, President Trump announced yesterday
that the US sees a large oil tanker off the
coast of Venezuela.
Speaker 1 (54:32):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (54:32):
Trump called it the largest tanker ever seized by the
US and said it happened for quote very good reason.
So apparently this tanker has been under US sanctions for
years because it's part of a network that ships oil
to Iran. Officials say it supports foreign terrorist groups terrorist groups,
and for context, it holds like two million barrels of oil.
Speaker 6 (54:52):
Okay, what I was cheering for was your pronunciation of Venezuela.
Speaker 3 (54:56):
Right, it's a on my word list that I cannot say. Yeah,
gonna sway, Lah, you did it. Thank you very much.
You're all very self conscious. I'm just kidding. I don't
want to put you on edge or anything, but I
just want you to be aware that today is the
most popular day of the year to break up. Oh boy,
yesterday December eleventh. It's all based on data from Facebook
from when people would change their relationship status apparently today.
(55:20):
Even dating apps notice that three and four online daters
report experiencing breakups during this Christmas season. They call it
the Christmas layoff because it's not too close to the
holidays for it to be exceptionally cruel.
Speaker 6 (55:32):
It's pretty wait wait, wait, wait, I know this is
what they said.
Speaker 3 (55:36):
You don't know it's cruel right now to break up
with somebody are probably already making plans. I know, it's brutal.
It's pretty freaking close. If today's the day for you,
give us a call. We'd love to work through it
with you.
Speaker 5 (55:51):
I mean, if you were if you were together at Thanksgiving,
you're locked into the end of the year. I know,
right Thanksgiving. If you go through Thanksgiving with somebody, yeah,
you got to just tough it out.
Speaker 3 (56:01):
I know, I don't know why today it seems pretty brutal.
Speaker 6 (56:04):
Yeah, the biggest breakup day of the year about y'all.
Speaker 3 (56:07):
Sorry, anyone seeing Andy Dick's name in the news is
getting a little worried because he's had quite the time
throughout his life. Apparently, on Tuesday, he suffered a very
public apparent overdose in broad daylight outside of building in Hollywood.
You can see on the video that TMZ posted someone
administering narcan. Andy didn't go to the hospital. He says
(56:30):
he's okay. He says he's okay because he spoke to TMZ.
They found him alive in his apartment. He was wasted.
He told TMZ he smoked crack with some guy he
had just met, and that's what happened. Andy was fifty nine.
He's been in and out of rehabit and jail. Is
fifty nine correct, he's still alive.
Speaker 6 (56:46):
Sorry, he is fifty nine.
Speaker 5 (56:48):
It's just I you just feel like the next time
you hear his name, it's not going to be correct
as positive news.
Speaker 3 (56:55):
Wasted.
Speaker 6 (56:56):
I know that he's got a ton of Hollywood friends.
I know they've all probably try to reach out and
help him.
Speaker 1 (57:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (57:02):
I wouldn't even know where to go at.
Speaker 6 (57:04):
This point with this guy, because it doesn't want to help,
doesn't seem like it. He's just been a mess for a.
Speaker 3 (57:10):
Long time and all these friends that are with him
while this is happening, Like, let's talk about another sad story.
Sharon Osborne decided to speak out. She did an interview
about her last moments with Ozzie before he died. This
interview's tough. She reveals that on the night before he died,
he was up and down one to the bathroom and
she said, around like four point thirty, he asked Sharon
(57:31):
if she was awake and then asked her to kiss
him and hug him tight. Well, later that morning he
went downstairs to work out, and that moment is when
he died.
Speaker 1 (57:39):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (57:40):
Yeah. She did say at one point in this interview
that Ozzie had been happier than he'd been in like
the past seven years because he had just finished that
Back to the Beginning show and it had a lot
of success surrounding it, and that'd give him some sort
of peace. The full story is up on the music
blog page if you want to check it out. Those
are Houston's headlines. Take it Alex.
Speaker 7 (58:00):
The Rockets are back in action tonight. They're gonna host
the Clippers at the Toyota Center. Coming into this their
nine and a half point Favorites. Tip off is going
to be at seven o'clock and you can listen to
that game on our sister station, Sports Talk seven to ninety.
On Thursday Night Football, Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers are
gonna host Bijon Robinson and the Falcons. That's getting a
kickoff at seven fifteen and you can watch it on
Prime Video.
Speaker 3 (58:21):
That is what's going on in Sports Houston's Rock Houston's.
Speaker 8 (58:25):
Alternative, and the Rod Ryan Morning Show.
Speaker 6 (58:30):
Shot Ball ninety four to five to the Buzz, Good Morning,
Rot Ryan Show.
Speaker 5 (58:34):
On this Throwback Thursday, Prodigy Firestarter still in the lead.
Throwback Thursday Prodigy Firestarter fifty percent of your vote, forty
six percent of your vote, some forty one still waiting.
Speaker 6 (58:52):
It's less than one hundred votes that separate the two.
So it's anybody's song right now.
Speaker 2 (58:59):
Cracker, get off the.
Speaker 6 (59:02):
Just not really competing at this point. All right, let's
get you caught up on a few things here because.
Speaker 5 (59:09):
It is the halfway point. So that's Throwback Thursday. It's
sticks to Grand Thursday. Sure, it's a day we play
Read my lips. Alex is gonna take on Chile this hour.
It's for those three days. Grace I prevail tickets. We're
calling that show the Buzz the Buzz oween Show October
twenty fifth out there at the Woodlands. Great hashtag Houston
Sunrise pictures coming in. Thank you for sharing. Sunny skies
(59:30):
today ten percent chance of rain.
Speaker 6 (59:32):
Highs of around sixty nine.
Speaker 5 (59:33):
But it is day one of our two day Saint
Jude Radiothon prevented by Gallery Furniture.
Speaker 6 (59:42):
We're looking for partners in Hope and we got a
new set of goals.
Speaker 2 (59:45):
For this hour.
Speaker 3 (59:45):
Oh yeah, maybe update from last hour. Some money that
came in, Yes, I can read. We see this tope
board presented by Oak Harvest Financial Group. It gives us
our grand total. Would you like to know the number?
Rode Right now, we're sitting at forty five nine and
thirty six dollars all thanks to y'all. That's awesome. That
is the partner in Hope total.
Speaker 5 (01:00:06):
That's awesome. So that's people coming in at nineteen dollars
a month. You get the T shirt that I'm wearing,
You get the hoodie that both you and Alex are wearing.
You give nineteen dollars per month. You make it possible
for Saint Jude, you care for some of the world's
sikest kids. It's a Music Gives T shirt and then
it's a Saint Jude hoodie. Nineteen dollars a month is
(01:00:27):
what we're asking for. They started in.
Speaker 6 (01:00:33):
Nineteen sixty two.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
I believe.
Speaker 5 (01:00:37):
The cancer survival rate for a child back then was
twenty percent. Saint Jude's research has got that number to
more than eighty percent. Today, the survival rate is over
eighty percent. They want that and I think we all
want that to be one hundred percent. That when a
child gets cancer it's a hundred percent.
Speaker 6 (01:00:56):
Don't worry. We're gonna fix this.
Speaker 5 (01:00:57):
Okay, it's not there yet. They will not stop until
no child dies of cancer. When I went to the
campus and I went to the to the hospital, I
just couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe the thoughtfulness of everything,
how much they thought of everything to take all the
burden off the families.
Speaker 6 (01:01:18):
Families never receive a bill from Saint Jude for treatment, travel, housing,
or food. A parent can stay right there on campus
with their child and just be there to support and
not have to leave and not have to you know
what I mean. They want Saint Jude wants to take
all those things off your plate. You've been dealt this unbelievable,
crappy hand of your kid having cancer. Let's take everything
(01:01:41):
off the table and let's just work on getting that
kid right.
Speaker 5 (01:01:45):
The other thing that I learned, and I'm just I'll
mention it briefly because I don't understand all of the
thing about like, I'm not putting one hospital against another,
but there's grants and there's people working on things, and
they kind of hoard that information because they wanted to
come from their hospital. The thing that Saint Jude does
that's different, and it's a complete game changer, is they've
(01:02:07):
got people working around the clock.
Speaker 6 (01:02:09):
Everything is posted this is what we found today. Guys
take this information.
Speaker 5 (01:02:14):
They share everything because they're funded in other ways, everything
that they they have come up with, things that have
helped every hospital in the world.
Speaker 3 (01:02:24):
They share all that information. They don't keep it to themselves.
Speaker 5 (01:02:32):
It's hard to think about there's a hospital here that's
sitting on information that they don't want to share with
everyone because they want they want the flowers, you know
when they announce it. Saint Jude doesn't do that. They
share everything as soon as soon as something happens over there,
it's like it's posted for everyone to share. Use this information.
It's pretty incredible. So as they're telling us this and
(01:02:54):
I'm walking around and I'm on the tour and I
just went, I go, they have any questions?
Speaker 6 (01:03:00):
And I raised my hand. I'm like, where are the apes?
Speaker 3 (01:03:05):
Stop it? Did you say that?
Speaker 6 (01:03:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
And then to excuse me, he's never gotten that question before?
I go, where are the apes? Stop?
Speaker 19 (01:03:14):
It?
Speaker 9 (01:03:14):
Is?
Speaker 12 (01:03:14):
It?
Speaker 9 (01:03:15):
Like?
Speaker 6 (01:03:15):
Are there apes here? It's like, what are you talking about?
I'm like, like apes, research apes? Are there apes somewhere?
Speaker 1 (01:03:21):
Like?
Speaker 6 (01:03:21):
Can we go see the apes?
Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
There's like there's no apes.
Speaker 6 (01:03:23):
Your jackass, Get this guy.
Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
Out of here.
Speaker 3 (01:03:27):
I'm like, when do we When did we get to
see the apes?
Speaker 6 (01:03:30):
There's no apes. I was upset about the apes so down.
Speaker 3 (01:03:35):
I wanted to hang out with mapes. I wouldn't show
my goodness like.
Speaker 5 (01:03:39):
Planet of the Apes now like the research lab the apes,
there's no apes there.
Speaker 6 (01:03:43):
Want to know, like this tour is ended, you go
get out, get out?
Speaker 3 (01:03:50):
How many partners and hope?
Speaker 6 (01:03:51):
What are we looking for? They give us some pretty
lofty goals.
Speaker 3 (01:03:53):
Every hour, Yeah, the gold this hour is twenty nine
partners in Holy Canoly. We can do it. Yeah, pludging
nineteen dollars a month to help these kiddos at Saint
Jude facing cancer. You can become a partner in Hope.
You put your gifts on the card. You get the
New Music gift shirt and the Saint Jude Puddy.
Speaker 6 (01:04:08):

Speaker 3 (01:04:11):
Let me get a phone number. Let me give the

Speaker 6 (01:04:31):

Speaker 3 (01:20:10):
The year on a high note. I hope, so, I
hope so.
Speaker 8 (01:20:13):
Houston and The Rod Ryan Morning Show, six Am.
Speaker 5 (01:20:20):
The Buzz ninety four five, The Buzz, Good Morning, Rod
Ryan's show on this Throwback Thursday. That's seven essence. The
Throwback Thursday battle has been fun to watch. It's just
kind of been brewing in the background. We do have
sixteen hundred votes. It's always good to see. I like
to get around that two thousand and I think we'll
get there. But it's Prodigy and some forty one battling
(01:20:43):
it out to be played at nine thirty today. Forty
eight percent of our audience wants Prodigy Firestarter. Chile's in
that number, forty four percent won, some forty one still waiting,
Alex is in that number, and then the rest.
Speaker 6 (01:20:56):
Is that's what is that seven percent left? That's Cracker
wedding song played at nine thirty. We roll on with
day one of our Saint Jude Radio athon, percented by
Gallery Furniture. There's Moe with Houston's headline, What's up?
Speaker 3 (01:21:09):
What does that mean? That means all morning long we
get to tell you about how you can help, and
all day long you're going to learn how to become
a partner in hope. You can pledge nineteen dollars a
month to help kiddos at Saint Jude that are facing cancer.
You put that gift on a card and you'll get
the New Music Gives T shirt and a Saint Jude hoodie.
(01:21:29):
You can actually text to get involved. Text the word
kids Kids to the number six two six two, six
to two. Then they're going to send you a link
and you can donate. Our goal is nine more partners
in Hope by nine am. Thank you to everyone that's
helping us out.
Speaker 5 (01:21:46):
Who are these radio influencers I see on Instagram wearing
that shirt.
Speaker 6 (01:21:51):
And hoodie Bud's us. Wow, that's us there. Yeah, you
want to see what the T shirts and the hoodies
look like. They're really nice. You can see us wearing
them on our Instagram at Rod Ryan Show. But yeah,
it's nice having the Saint Jude people having their energy
in the building right now.
Speaker 3 (01:22:07):
And we appreciate y'all for helping us out. Can I
talk national news? Because the Federal Reserve cut its key
interest rate again yesterday. It was only a quarter of
a percentage point, but it's the third cut in the year.
That's what everyone's talking about. The vote was nine to three,
which is the most no votes on any rate cut
by the Fed since twenty nineteen, showing a split among
(01:22:29):
officials over where rates should go next. The FED chairs
and the cuts were made to help the job market,
which has been slowing down. Rod We know that we
are surrounded by treats this time of year, but the
most recent viral trend had me check in it twice.
It's vanilla ice cream doused in red wine. That's it.
You take a bowl of ice cream and you pour
(01:22:50):
red wine over it.
Speaker 6 (01:22:52):
It doesn't seem like well thought out. It doesn't seem
who did it?
Speaker 3 (01:22:56):
Someone that was drunk.
Speaker 6 (01:22:57):
I mean, red wine is not with milk in it. Yeah,
it doesn't sound very good to me.
Speaker 3 (01:23:04):
You're gonna try it. I'll tell you what.
Speaker 6 (01:23:06):
The Grinch spaghetti sounded better than other.
Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
That's true. The hype is suggesting, though, this is the
dessert of the holidays, so maybe there's something to it.
Powerball jackpot jumped to a billion dollars. Nobody matched all
sick numbers in last night's lottery drawing for nine hundred
and thirty million, so the grand prize will roll over
to Saturday's drawing. A Powerball ticket could be worth a
(01:23:29):
billion dollars before taxes. Whoever wins can choose the entire
amount over thirty installments. Or take the one time cash
amount of about four hundred and sixty million dollars.
Speaker 6 (01:23:42):
My kid's doing spelling every week now, we're doing our
spelling words.
Speaker 3 (01:23:47):
Can you help me with one? You hear Penn, You're
about to make fun of the way I say.
Speaker 6 (01:23:51):
Can you do me a favor? Because one of our
words this week is drawing? How do you spell that?
Speaker 3 (01:23:55):
Are you drawing? Alex? Do you know to spell it?
But are am?
Speaker 13 (01:24:01):
W I, G D R?
Speaker 6 (01:24:04):
Hang on MA spell it?
Speaker 1 (01:24:07):
Draw?
Speaker 3 (01:24:09):
Draw dr? Which is worse?
Speaker 2 (01:24:13):
Dal?
Speaker 6 (01:24:13):
Are you rawling?
Speaker 3 (01:24:14):
Or venezuela?
Speaker 9 (01:24:16):
Like?
Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
Those are my That's my stories today and I'm horrible
at it. It doesn't even bother me. Hey, Normally the
Sun Dance Festival is not something I would ever relate to,
but hear me out the twenty twenty six festival coming
up into January a bunch of music related films slated
to premiere. So Charlie XCX has a mockumentary called The Moment,
(01:24:36):
following a rising pop star as they deal with the
pressures of fame. It could be funny, okay, But the
one I'm interested in the most is the new Courtney
Love documentary. Yeah, it's called anti heroin like the hero
female anti heroin, as well as Best Summer, which is
the movement in music looking at like the BC Boys
(01:24:56):
and Sonic Youth and stuff. And then there's also a
Woo Tank movie premiering something for everybody.
Speaker 7 (01:25:02):
Something.
Speaker 6 (01:25:02):
Let's say about Courtney Love. Yeah, she does seem like
she'd be open to really letting us peak behind the curtains.
She doesn't know everything. She doesn't really hold back a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:25:13):
Do you know if she's super involved in this one specifically,
I would assume so. Yes, I'm not sure.
Speaker 6 (01:25:18):
Your story is the first I'm hearing that there's a
dock coming out on her. I'm super interested in it. Yeah, heck, yeah,
for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:25:23):
Those are Houston's headlines. It's got a lot to talk about,
for sure.
Speaker 6 (01:25:27):
You want to know, you can't deny.
Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
She's interesting, very interesting, a story to be told.
Speaker 6 (01:25:32):
Oh what you got up by their Alex.
Speaker 7 (01:25:33):
The Rockets are back in action tonight. They're gonna host
the Clippers at the Toyota Center. They're nine and a
half point favorites heading into this one. Tip Off is
going to be at seven o'clock and you can listen
to it on our sister station Sports Talk seven ninety
on Thursday Night Football. We got Baker Mayfield and the
Buccaneers hosting Bjon Robinson and the Falcons. That'll kick off
at seven fifteen. You can watch it on Prime Video.
That is what's going on in sports.
Speaker 5 (01:25:53):
Okay, guys, it's day one of our Saint Jude Radio
Ethon presented by Gallery Furniture. We're asking you that you
become a partner in Hope. One eight hundred five eight
eight fourteen thirty three. One eight hundred five eight eight

We got two minutes. Try to get those people in
before the top of the hour. Become a partner in Hope.

Speaker 9 (01:26:24):
Ryan Morning Show six to ten AM.
Speaker 6 (01:26:27):
Ninety four or five, the Buzz Good Morning rod Ryan Show.
Speaker 5 (01:26:30):
On this throwback Thursday, while we are in the fourth
and final hour, the winning song I don't know what
it's going to be, mo is a most rapper.
Speaker 6 (01:26:39):
It will not well that I know it won't be.
That's the only thing I can tell you.
Speaker 5 (01:26:42):
I'm sorry, but the Twins they battled it out today
on Reek my Lips.
Speaker 6 (01:26:49):
They're also at odds on what songs should be played
today on Throwback Thursday.
Speaker 5 (01:26:54):
It's really come down to a two horse race. It's
Prodigy versus some forty one, some forty one.
Speaker 1 (01:26:59):
In the lead.
Speaker 3 (01:27:00):
Alex welcome in as they should be.
Speaker 5 (01:27:02):
Forty one percent forty one, Prodigy forty percent.
Speaker 6 (01:27:05):
Let's let's even go. Let's go to the numbers, eight
thirty five for some forty one, eight hundred and sixteen
votes for the Prodigy. Wow, that's close.
Speaker 3 (01:27:16):
That's fun.
Speaker 6 (01:27:17):
A lot of votes too. Man, we're over the two
thousand mark.
Speaker 5 (01:27:21):
That's what you really need. I can't sit here and
beg for votes all morning. You really need two thousands
for it to be fair. It's like, okay, boo, this
is good, a good sample. Yeah, and we got twenty
five minutes until the song will we played?
Speaker 6 (01:27:35):
So lots going on here, the fresh out of d
head to Head Tournament of Champions.
Speaker 5 (01:27:41):
That game was unbelievable. This morning we walked in reading
my lips, I mean Chilean, Alex. There's fireworks there.
Speaker 9 (01:27:47):
But but.
Speaker 5 (01:27:50):
It's day one of our Saint Jude Radiothon presented by
Gallery Furniture, and we're looking for.
Speaker 6 (01:27:55):
Again partners in Hope. I'll tell you what that means.
But tell me how many do we need this hour?
Speaker 3 (01:28:01):
Well, this hour's goal is twenty two partners in Hope
by ten am. It's a big ask. Yes, well, we're brocket.
We're doing a good job. I see our topeboard presented
by Oak Harvest Financial Group, and our total right now
is seventy two thousand, seven hundred and eighty five.
Speaker 6 (01:28:17):
That's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (01:28:19):
We couldn't do without y'all.
Speaker 6 (01:28:20):
This is all of our stations here.
Speaker 3 (01:28:22):
We'll work at bust in our booties.
Speaker 6 (01:28:24):
This is everybody here that works for iHeart Houston, trying
to get this. We all have like this. We're all
partnering up with Saint Jude for this radiothon.
Speaker 3 (01:28:33):
So how many more of this hour? I'm sorry, twenty
two partners and Hope by ten am.
Speaker 6 (01:28:37):
That's easy. We did twenty seven and the seven o'clock hour,
did it?
Speaker 3 (01:28:41):
Okay? That's use a couple shout outs because there's some
special ones coming through.
Speaker 1 (01:28:44):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (01:28:45):
Diana. In spring, she became a new partner and hope
for just nineteen dollars a month to help the kiddos
as Saint Jude facing cancer. But she did it in
honor of her husband, Diana, your extra honor heart, sister
girl Vivian in League City, she did hers in memory
of Michael. Sister. We don't know the full story, but
again we're keeping you in our hearts. And Maishad just
(01:29:05):
here in Houston as she did hers, also in memory
of a Michael. Thank you so much. We know what
this means to these families, and we obviously from your memories,
know what it means for your family as well.
Speaker 6 (01:29:16):
Yeah, thank you so much. So we're asking you to
get involved.
Speaker 5 (01:29:22):
Nineteen dollars per month will make it possible for Saint
Jude to keep going and help care for some of
the world's sickest kids. Okay, Saint Jude, They're not going
to stop until no cancer, no children, no child dies
of cancer. You could help by becoming a partner and help.
When you do, you're gonna get this awesome music gives
(01:29:42):
T shirt that.
Speaker 3 (01:29:43):
I'm wearing looking good, rod Ryan, I see.
Speaker 6 (01:29:46):
You guys wearing the hoodie looking good.
Speaker 5 (01:29:49):

you want to see if you haven't seen the Music

Speaker 3 (01:29:58):
We've also posted the links to how donate. You can
find a lot of information there. It's also easy to
call or text.
Speaker 6 (01:30:04):
The hashtag mo is hashtag music gives. That's what's on
the shirt.
Speaker 5 (01:30:07):
If you want to see how many folks have already
kind of joined the movement. If you look at the
hashtag music gives. This is a global thing that is happening.
So again, thank you to everybody that has already kind
of stepped up. If you're hearing this for the first time,
you know Saint Jude opened to nineteen sixty two. Danny
(01:30:27):
Thomas was an actor. Ask your grandma. He just started
this thing and he wanted to come up with a
way of getting children that helped they needed to families
that couldn't afford helping save their children's lives. Families never
receive a bill when they get care at Saint Jude
for treatment. A parent gets to stay there with their
(01:30:49):
child that's not billed either. Travel is taken care of, housing,
food that parent can be there with their child just
to help them focus on getting better. And I told
you the other amazing story was that it's not just
the families that are helped there, but it's the research
that goes on at Saint Jude. And I told you
(01:31:12):
Mo that they share every single thing that they come across.
And this is not done everywhere. As a matter of fact,
I don't know that anybody does this. But there's a
lot of hospitals and I'm not going to put one
against another.
Speaker 3 (01:31:23):
I told you that.
Speaker 5 (01:31:24):
Already, but there's research going on, okay, But the places
that are working on this research, they're getting grants and everything,
and it's like they got pressure to come up with
some results and they hang on to that information and wait,
Saint Jude uploads everything.
Speaker 6 (01:31:40):
Come have a look to see what we did today.
Speaker 5 (01:31:43):
They share every breakthrough and they have been almost single
handedly responsible for childhood childhood cancer survival rates going from
twenty percent in nineteen sixty two to over eighty percent today.
Your kid's got an eighty percent chance survival rate because
of the work that's been done over at Saint Jude.
Speaker 1 (01:32:03):
It's a lot.
Speaker 5 (01:32:04):
It's a lot, it really is. If you want to
become a partner in hope. You can text kids the
sixty two sixty two sixty two. Text the word kids
six two six sixty two. That's sixty two sixty two
sixty two. Text kids, Okay, love having them in the
building today and shout out to all of our everybody.
(01:32:26):
You know what I mean, Like this is a one
time of year because we're competitive with other radio stations
in our own cluster. You know what I mean when
I say like, iHeart Houston like as much as I
love Dana, love Dana don at Sonny like when it
comes to ratings, I want to kick her ass right
you know, yeah, you know, and right now she's crushing

Speaker 6 (01:32:47):
Our holley, all our holly jolly good cheers, so careful
all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:32:51):

Speaker 6 (01:32:54):

this one.
Speaker 1 (01:32:57):
We all are.
Speaker 6 (01:32:58):
And that's everybody.
Speaker 5 (01:32:59):
That's our friends, at the our guys at the at
the sports station, that's everything. So it's a it's a
really great team effort that's happening here at iHeart Houston today.
Speaker 6 (01:33:08):

Speaker 5 (01:44:50):
We're going to do this tomorrow again, and Jeremy's going
to continue on and Teresa is going to continue on
with our Saint Jude Radioson presented by Gallery Furniture. A
couple of things unpack here. We're trying to get a
few more of you before the top of the hour
before we go.
Speaker 6 (01:45:05):
And I know Jeremy's going to carry the torch and
he's going to do it brilliantly.
Speaker 5 (01:45:08):
We're trying to get more of you, a couple more
of you before the top of the hour to give
nineteen dollars per month to become a partner in Hope.
Speaker 6 (01:45:15):
We'll get you the Music Gives T shirt. We're also
going to get you the hoodie for that nineteen dollars
per month, just as a little way of saying thank you.
I get it. One doesn't equal to the other, but
the money that you're giving is helping some of the
sickest kids in the world get treatment at one of
the greatest places in the world where families never receive
(01:45:36):
a bill over at Saint Jude. So a couple of
things here, and I know you're getting the same information
our lunch sponsor today because they got volunteers and everything.
Speaker 3 (01:45:45):
Everybody it's buzzing.
Speaker 6 (01:45:47):
Yeah here, it's like the radio station used to be,
like people everywhere. You know, our lunch sponsor is going
to be Willie's Grill and Ice House.
Speaker 3 (01:45:55):
Had you heard of them?
Speaker 1 (01:45:56):
I have.
Speaker 6 (01:45:56):
We love them, so thank you for not only being
here with us, but we got a bunch of our
friends that are also helping out. So I guess they're
going to come by and feed the volunteers and so can.
Speaker 5 (01:46:07):
I just and I don't want to mix charities up,
but do you remember when we did the Boobs Rock
T shirt sale at Willie's and we introduced the Pink
Lady drink and we said we were getting a dollar
for each one that sold at all the different locations.
They sold over five hundred of them, So that was
five hundred dollars right that they're going to give for
(01:46:29):
Thirsty but Diego and the CFO over there they were
going to bring us a check and they ended up
going the online route in the store, thank you, but
five hundred and forty one of them sold, so they
were on the hook to give us five hundred and
forty one dollars. They kicked in five hundred and nineteen dollars,
so they just made a one thousand and sixty dollars donation.
Speaker 3 (01:46:52):
Willie's Bill and Ie House.
Speaker 6 (01:46:54):
So you know, more to come in twenty twenty six
with these guys. Man, I think we have gift cards
tomorrow with free beer Friday.
Speaker 3 (01:47:01):
I would be exciting because I didn't see they're run
a special this morning.
Speaker 6 (01:47:04):
Yeah, so I think we have one hundred dollars gift
cards coming with every case of beer tomorrow. So Willie's
bringing food for all the volunteers that. It's just they're
good people. That's it.
Speaker 5 (01:47:14):
That's all you need to know. It's like, they're awesome people.
It's an awesome organization. I love working with them. And
you got to feed these people that are volunteering, that
are helping us out here over at Saint Jude. So
if we can get a few more of you on
board with our Saint Jude Radiothon presented by Gallery Furniture.
Speaker 6 (01:47:28):
We need you to become a partner in hope. Every child,
I think we all agree, deserves the best chance ever
at curing their cancer. You know, when you become a
partner and hope, you'll be providing that hope to families
that need it the most. One eight hundred five eight
eight fourteen thirty three nineteen dollars a month for you
(01:47:50):
to make that difference, and we'll get you the T
shirt and we'll get you the hoodie. One eight hundred
five eight eight fourteen thirty three. One eight hundred five
eight eight fourteen thirty three. Happy to help, Man, Happy
to help. I saw it with my own eyes walking
around the hospital, and I couldn't. I just I went
in for a day trip, flew in that morning, boom
boom boom, went around, asked them where the apes were.
(01:48:11):
There were no apes. So that's another story. There's no
apes there. I just thought research. You know, No, you
don't like the first thing when I think of a
research lab, I think of apes.
Speaker 12 (01:48:22):
Right now.
Speaker 3 (01:48:23):
That's old school, right, it's the first thing I think about.
There's no eight. No, I'm not a research I got
cutting Edge Research over there.
Speaker 6 (01:48:31):
What are you giving away? I know the show.
Speaker 3 (01:48:32):
I have a pair of tickets to that never ending
ninety show at Smart Financial Center in Sugar Lane this weekend.
Speaker 6 (01:48:38):
Okay, everything in the world Christmas related is happening this Saturday.
Speaker 3 (01:48:41):
So much going on. I don't know how you're going
to decide what to attend. But this is Ezra ray Hart.
It's nineties hits, Christmas riffs. Yeah, December thirteenth, so that's Saturday, right.
Speaker 6 (01:48:50):
They're making it a Christmas party.
Speaker 3 (01:48:51):
I mean, why not.
