8 декабря главнокомандующий Вооруженными силами Украины Александр Сырский написал в соцсетях, что считает главным приоритетом украинской армии сейчас «мобилизацию, рекрутинг, новые контракты», то есть привлечение новых солдат. Военные эксперты уже давно говорят о сложностях с комплектованием ВСУ, а также о большом числе солдат, которые самовольно покидают часть. По данным «Би-би-си», в октябре 2025 года таких случаев было больше 20 тысяч.
