Вдохновившись этой книгой, редакция «Полки» решила обсудить сам роман Толстого, который при каждом перечитывании открывается с совершенно новой стороны. Что здесь важнее: характеры или идеи? Как Толстой вписывает собственные размышления и переживания в ткань романа, как исторические события и факты — от адюльтера в царской семье до Русско-турецкой войны — повлияли на его окончательный облик? Наконец, мы обсуждаем, как устроено, «сделано» тщательно выстроенное здание «Карениной» — романа, в котором гораздо больше символического и мистического, чем мы привыкли видеть в «эпоху реализма».
