Speaker 1 (00:00):
Rich DeMuro here Rich on Tech telling you about several
apps that can help you plan the perfect Valentine's Day.
Most of these apps are on demand. Let's start with Zeal.
This is an on demand massage app. They will bring
the spa to your house. Literally, you tap a few
things on the app, you say what you want, and
next thing you know, you'll have a licensed massage therapist

(00:22):
at your door. And you can even do a couple's
massage with them. So they will bring two therapists. They
bring everything you need, They set up a bed. You
have to find a place in your house where you
can fit this, especially if you're gonna do the couple's massage.
But I've done this before. It's really cool. I'm not
a massage person, but you know, my wife loves to
get these things, so you know, I play along and

(00:43):
it's not bad. It's kind of cool. It's in your house,
you don't have to leave. The only thing you do
need to know you have to supply a fresh set
of sheets, so you do need a sheet for their
bed and then of course a top sheet as well.
So again that one is called Zeal and they will
bring the massage to you. Now, if you need some wine,
maybe some wine, a nice bottle of champagne, whatever it is,

(01:05):
you can check out the alcohol delivery app Drizzly. They
have a selection over fifteen hundred products, including wine, beer,
and spirits. You can pay and tip from inside the app,
so I know a lot of people don't carry around
cash anymore. You can tip right from inside and basically
the order is delivered to your door in about an hour,
and this all comes from participating local businesses. Again, you

(01:28):
have to be twenty one to use this app. You
know that though it's called Drizzly and it's an alcohol
delivery app. I've seen my friends use this at a
poker game I was at, so that was pretty cool.
I have not used this one myself at home, but
we did test out a delivery to the station and
it was pretty cool. They were here at the exact
time they said they would be all right. Moving on. Now,

(01:49):
you need some flowers, how about a website called The
Book's Company. The Books Company has some really fresh flowers
and the reason why their flowers are so fresh is
because they ship them directly from the farm. So yes,
your flowers come right from places like South America, Ecuador
and that's it. They cut them there and then they

(02:09):
put them in a box and they send them to you.
So we visited their facility in Marina del Rey and
it's very nice, best smelling place I've ever been in.
They say, if you take care of your bouquet, it
can last weeks instead of days. I was able to
keep the bouquet that they gave me just over a week,
and they told me three ways to keep your flowers fresh.

(02:29):
Number one, you got to snip the ends on a
slant like, kind of on an angle, not straight, and
that helps them drink water. The second thing is that
you want to change that water every single day. And
the third thing is definitely used just a little drop
of food or maybe a tiny drop of bleach, or
even vodka. You can put a little tiny drop of

(02:49):
vodka in there, and all three of those things will
help to cut down on bacteria. And that's really what's
killing those flowers that are in that vase. So check
out the books Very Cool Fresh Stuff. If you want
to try them out, use my code rich on Tech
for fifteen percent off your order, whether you're a new
customer or an existing customer. So thanks to Books for
setting that up. All right. Finally, one more thing to

(03:12):
try out door dash dot com. Door dash is a
food delivery service, and I know there's a million of
these out there. What's cool about DoorDash is a couple
of things They have like pretty much every restaurant you
could ever imagine signed up with them. And also, you
can filter your restaurant results by the lowest delivery fee,
so that's kind of a neat way to find Let's

(03:32):
say you don't want to pay any sort of delivery fee,
you can sort them by that delivery fee and see
which ones are delivering for free. And sometimes restaurants do that.
Sometimes a're on special they'll do that as well. And
if you want to save some cash, of course go
with a low delivery fee, But if you want to
go with top rated restaurants, you can go and sort
that way as while some of the other services out

(03:54):
there don't let you sort the restaurants as easily as DoorDash.
So that's what we like about them. We interview the
CEO and co founder of DoorDash, nice guy, and just
basically said that you know, consumers want to save money,
they want to, you know, have us do the delivery
for them. And it's also a good way for restaurants
that don't normally do their own delivery to kind of
outsource their delivery to a third party, and DoorDash and

(04:17):
all these other companies make that possible. So I loved
when I ordered from DoorDash how they gave me the
exact moment the person would ring my doorbell and no joke,
that's the exact time they rang my doorbell. Now, I'm
sure that was just pretty random, but that's they say
their technology does. All Right, there you have it, four
ways to deliver the perfect Valentine's Day through apps. If
you want links all these things, go to the website
