Speaker 1 (00:00):
I believe initially there was some worry that we could
be dealing with some snowy weather this morning. That's not
the case. We're good to go. In fact, we'll be
good throughout the day, but it is going to be cold,
maybe some flurries. But tonight at seven o'clock, that is
when Kentucky, Ina will be in a winter weather advisory
with some snow on the way. Looks like two to
four inches is the expectation for the area, so be advised.

(00:21):
And December showed up and let us know she was here,
did she not? I mean, this was after Monday snow.
We had another I guess dusting really, but the four
inches plus that we got to start the month, that
was a lot of snow, not only just for early December,
but for this area. I mean, I guess somebody brought

(00:41):
this up that it hit me up on Twitter, and
they're right. We had a good stretch where we didn't
get much snow at all for years, and when we
did it was maybe like one one storm of about
two to three inches. And when you think about some
of the bigger issues we had where schools are closed
that kind of stuff, it was ice and of course
that's really dangerous. But we were already on track to

(01:05):
have what would be a very memorable winter around here.
And again winter technically hasn't even started just yet, which
is kind of scary to think about. Right. So, the
average amount of snow that we get per season in
louisville's ten point eight inches, so right now we've had

(01:28):
nearly half of that thus far. And if we get
two to four inches like they're expecting tonight and overnight
into tomorrow morning, we're going to be sitting close to
the average a week before, you know, ten days before Christmas,
ten days plus. So yeah, who knows. Maybe this is
just what we get and then it gets more mild throughout,

(01:49):
but I don't know. This is certainly certainly a lot
more than we're used to this time of year, so
be prepared. It's coffee and company. We are fiel about
Thornton's here at News Radio eight forty whas. Thank you
for hanging out with us, and also I want to
let you know you should keep Thorton's in mind when
it comes to getting your day started. They've got what
you need to stay fueled for the day ahead. Maybe
that's a cup of coffee and a donut. If that's

(02:10):
the case, you can get their extra large holiday cup
and any donut you want for just three bucks. So
that's a good combo to get your day started. Maybe
you want to go with an energy drink and a
breakfast sandwich, maybe biscuits and gravy. They've got a lot
of good options, so again keep them in mind. We
are proudly fueled by Thornton's here at NewsRadio eight forty
whas all right, So this story has certainly become a
national story that is not just being covered in the

(02:33):
sports world. But the Michigan football coach currently they don't
have one because Sean Moore. He was fired Wednesday afternoon
after an investigation internally discovered that he was having an
inappropriate relationship with a female staffer. So hours later police
responded to her residence and Moore's residens and Moore's address,

(02:58):
so he was detained in Michigan outside of ann Arbor
in an area I guess that's called Selene, in connection
with an alleged assault. Now the investigation is ongoing and
no charges has been filed yet, but he was fired
and in within hours he was arrested, so that alone
is something you don't often see in college football. So

(03:20):
what Michigan has said is really just that they've made
the move ward manual. The ad said there's zero tolerance
for that, and an anonymous tip triggered the investigation, and
the investigation was able to determine that they had what
they needed to fire with cause, meaning he will not
get any kind of a buyout. And there's now even
more new evidence that is coming out about this relationship,

(03:43):
which doesn't have anything to mean he's fired. So the
new evidence that makes him look as if he broke
rules that isn't really relevant as far as his job
now the criminal situation, it is worth mentioning that his
arrest and I guess the ongoing investigation, it is not
due to what he was fired for. It is due

(04:04):
to I guess, something that took place, maybe as he
found out he was fired, as maybe he realized his
life was crumbling. So there's rumors out there as far
as what led to this arrest and what led to
this thing, I guess really spiraling, but you know it's rumors,
so I'll leave it at that. But we're at a

(04:26):
point now with this story and really just college football
what's going to surprise you anymore? Right, you thought Lane
Kiffen leaving his team in the midst of a potential
national championship run to take another job. I mean, that's unusual,
to say the least. And now you've got this, which
is wild. And Sean Moore, he's a graduate of U
of L. He got his master's degree here at U

(04:47):
of L, and he was on Charlie Strong's staff from
twenty nine to twenty thirteen. I believe that was Charlie's
entire stint here at Louisville. And his wife. I feel
for her family because and her of course as well,
because obviously this is very publicly garrassing thing to go through,
and it's a tough thing to deal with regardless of
if it's public or not. But she's a Louisville native,
graduated of Belief from Louisville Bale High School. We actually

(05:10):
have some mutual friends, so I cannot imagine being in
their position here, just as this is again tough enough
to deal with under really any circumstance, but for it
to be a national story, it's got to be really,
really tough. So this will be a continued story as
we get more information and nothing will shock me so

(05:34):
as far as him being here's what I expect will happen,
even if he is charged with something as the investigation is,
as the investigation continues, he'll make bail, Like he'll get
out of jail unless he's charged with something that like
he can't make bail, which I don't see a scenario
where that's the case. And there'll be cameras and right
now there are a guarantee there are cameras waiting outside

(05:54):
of that jail, and he won't talk. Of course, he'll
probably say he needs an attorney or you know, he
won't talk to anybody. But we'll get more information as
far as details that aren't relevant to him getting fired,
but like are relevant to the story. Like things gonna leak.
There's no doubt more information is gonna leak as far
as what was going on with him and this female staffer.
And of course we'll probably get more details as far

(06:16):
as what he was arrested for yesterday that led to
him and again we now know that it's an alleged assault.
But details. This is a this is a story filled
with drama, and we know that works, right, that works
in the new cycle. People are going to want to
know more about this, and I'm sure it won't be
long before we have more information. All right, We've got
more traffic updates, weather updates on the way for you,
So stick around and hang out with us right here

(06:38):
at News Radio eight forty whas. All right, we'll get
you another update on traffic coming up in just a moment.
I will say. The construction that's been going on for
a long time, seemingly it's never ending, And of course
we all know what's going to happen next summer when
they shut down seemingly the whole city. As far as
the interstates, A lot of the traffic that I see
on these cameras that we have access to, a lot

(06:59):
of it is is due to just construction. It's not
necessarily any any big crash that caused it. But there
are a couple of accidents to be mindful of right now.
On I two sixty four East in the area of
Third Street, there is a crash that's causing some issues there.
It looks as if the right shoulder is blocked, so
be advised. And then also there's a disabled vehicle on

(07:20):
I seventy one South and that is in the area
of I two sixty five, so that's causing a little
bit of delays. But we'll have another update for you
from Nicole and just a moment we'll also get a
look at the forecast. But real quick, if you are
somebody that's looking to buy or sell a home and
you've just thought about the timing not being right for you,
you may be right or you may be wrong, and

(07:40):
there's only one way to find out, and that's to
reach out to my friend Bob's Siccoler and the Cecolar
team at Remax Properties East. I've mentioned it on both sides,
right buying. If you want to buy a home, you
may know exactly what you're looking for and think, man,
that's just gonna be really hard to find a diamond
in the rough, a needle in a haystack. Well that's
where Bob and his team come in. I mean, they've
got the knowledge and of course the networking in this

(08:03):
in this market, in this region, uh to see if
there is something out there that fits exactly what it
is you're looking for. And you know, you may think, well, hey,
the market just doesn't make sense. Well yeah, maybe you
don't love the rates, right now. But what Bob says,
and it makes total sense. You you know, you marry
the home, you date the mortgage rate because you can, obviously,

(08:23):
you can get a different rate when things adjust. And
if you know that that's the dream home, don't don't
let that past, don't let that opportunity pass by, because again,
you can always make some adjustments and make some changes,
uh to to get a different interest rate. And you
know that's a little bit of a risk obviously, because
you just don't know what that's going to look like.
But here's what you do. Know what home you want

(08:44):
to live in. You know, if you've seen a house
that you feel like is the one that you want
to spend the rest of your life in or maybe
start a family in. So what I keep trying to
emphasize to you guys is just don't let the noise
about the market and the time be the reason you
don't even look into it. Give Bob a call. You
can actually call him directly on his cell phone FABO
two three, seven, six, five four eighty three. He'll answer

(09:05):
and he'll give you all the information that you need.
He'll guide you throughout the process. And it is UH
when you have an experience like that with Bob, You'll
never think of anybody else than the Cecolar team at
Remax Properties Ease when it comes to these kind of things,
because you really will feel the value of having somebody
like the Cecolar team that can help you throughout it
the entire way. So I can't recommend him enough. We

(09:27):
sell Louisville dot com as the website. Again, it's the bole.
It's popsicolar with the Cecolar team at Remax Properties Ease.
Give them a call. FABO two three, seven, six five
four eight three. All right, let's check on these roadways here.
It's about seven twenty two on a Thursday morning, December
the eleventh. As we rolled along, so again travcking weather
updates on the way. We'll talk some sports with Scott
on the other side, and we hope you stick with us.

(09:48):
Why would you not? Where would you go? I mean,
I know you got options, but you want to stay here?
Right you do? Coffee and company with you here at
news Radio eight forty whas and we are by Thornton's
and we were also coming to you live on the
iHeart radio app. So if you are listening live, just
know that you can use the talk back line powered
by Alex Rwhite PLLC so Distractor Driver dot Com. Click

(10:10):
that microphone button on the app if you're listening to us,
of course, and then you will be prompted to fire
away thirty seconds. I believe is what you get and
share with us whatever it is that you want, all right,
So I can't be the only one that now has
an added job during the Christmas season, and that is
to retrieve all the packages that get delivered to my house.

(10:31):
I don't think I've ordered anything this holiday season, but
my wife, she's it seems every day that there's something
new that she's got delivered to the house that's a
Christmas gift for somebody. And it's not that I'm worried
about ports pirates, although I probably should be, but like it.
You know, if it's outside, I'll just go grab it.
So I'm sure you've gotten a package over the years.
Maybe you haven't that is not yours and it was

(10:54):
just dropped off by accident. And I suppose there's a
lot of there's a lot of ways in which you
could get it to somebody if you know that it's
just the neighbor that they should have given it to
but they made a mistake. Then you could just you know,
walk it over. But I've not during Christmas time, but
I've over the years. It's been rare, but it's happened
a couple of times at least where I've gotten a

(11:14):
package and I have no clue why it ended up
in my mailbox. I mean, it's not even in my
zip code. Seemingly it's rare, but it happens. So like,
I think what we would do is we would just
go put it out in the mailbox and put the
flag up, and like they would just know that, hey,
this was dropped off here wasn't supposed to be. So
the reason I'm bringing all this up is because the
question has been asked that that I wouldn't have known

(11:36):
the answer to without this information. Can you keep a
package that is technically delivered to you? That is, I
guess in your mind, if you want to view it
that way, it was given to you. I mean I
think the answer would be like, no, it's not yours.
I mean, the mailing address shows that it doesn't belong
to you. It just ended up there. But anyways, if
you see a package on your porch and you realize

(11:58):
it's not yours, and you wonder is it illegal? Am
I allowed to keep this? I mean, it's here? And
the answer is more complicated than you would imagine, and
in some cases it's really complicated, But the answer in
a nutshell, Yes, keeping someone else's package can be a crime.
So if the package was delivered by the US Postal Service,

(12:19):
it falls under federal law. That means keeping it, even
if they messed up the delivery is considered mail theft.
That makes sense, but I'm not sure I would have
known that penalties can hit up to two hundred and
fifty thousand dollars in fines and up to five years
in prison. I don't know if anybody has ever been
fully prosecuted to that extent that kept a package that

(12:40):
was delivered. But again, that's the US Postal Service. Other
carriers Amazon, UPS and FedEx they're covered under Kentucky law
after Senate built twenty three, So that means a package
theft can be charged as a class defelony. So yeah,
you shouldn't keep it and not expect to eventually be
held accountable if, in fact, it's discovered that the package

(13:01):
was wrongfully delivered to you. So what you should do
when it isn't yours don't open it, And of course
you should never open anybody else's mail. But I guess once,
if you've decided to keep it, obviously you're going to
open it. But first step is check the label. If
it's meant for an neighbor, you can drop it off,
that's a no brainer. But if it's not, you're supposed
to make a reasonable effort to get it back to

(13:22):
the right place. Reasonable effort can be a lot of
different things, right, But if it's USPS, right, return to
sender and leave it with outgoing mail. And if it's
a private carrier, contact the company or the retailer that shipped.
I think if it's USPS and you want to put
it back in the mailbox without going mail, return to cender.

(13:43):
That to me is an easy thing to do. I
can see a lot of people just not caring enough
to actually contact I mean, again, it's not like it's
a major inconvenience. But I'm I wrong here, John, Like,
if somebody's package gets sent to me and it's not mine,
maybe you know, just being a good human would be Hey,

(14:04):
I need to let Amazon know they delivered this to
the wrong location. But you know, it wouldn't be a
priority for me. Yeah, you know, with you, I'm not
going to drop everything and do it. And then sure enough,
as a procrastinator that I am, a few weeks would
go by and it would probably still be sitting in
my house.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
I've had it where we get mail delivered to us
or packages whatever may be. That is it's for our
next door neighbor. So that's easy to just walk over
and give to them. But the situation you're describing where
they're just in totally wrong location, like that's that's very strange,
and I wouldn't want to have to deal with that.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Yeah, And I mean they're gonna ask a lot of questions.
You don't know anything. All you know is, hey, this
isn't mine, Come get it and give it to somebody
who's supposed to go to So I'm sure this happens
all the time. So now if you can't return it,
you know, you make you make a reasonable effort, nobody
retrieves it. You might be allowed to keep it, especially
in cases where you know, Amazon apparently has has at

(14:58):
times told folks, yeah, just hang on to it, We'll
send another one to the customer, there's no need in
so maybe you've gotten a free gift because the Amazon
way of fixing it, like, hey, maybe that's maybe that
is the incentive to truly see what's inside the box.
Right contact Amazon, and it sounds like there's a good
chance they may just say, Okay, keep it, we'll send

(15:20):
a new one our mistake, and you may open it
up and find out you got something awesome or maybe
something you know that has no value to you. Yes,
you never know. There's other things. Well, we'll take a
look at this a little bit later on, because there's
also what you do at a package addressed to you
that you didn't order. That's a different story and back

(15:42):
you actually can keep that. The FDC says that that
if you got a package that was addressed to you
but you didn't order it and you're you're curious, you
can actually legally keep it. But it could also be
a scam. We'll talk about what that scam could be
coming up a little bit later on, but first let's
get an update on traffick and weather right here at
news Radio eight forty whas. So to finish up the

(16:03):
conversation about what you should do if a package ends
up at your house that you did not that you
did not order, or that's not yours. Again, if it's
delivered to somebody else and it ends up in your
hands because of a mistake made by the delivery, I
guess you're not really required to do anything. But you
can be held accountable if it's from USPS, if you

(16:24):
just keep it now, if it's ups, if it's Amazon,
a little bit different. But look, you should always just
try to get it whoever who it belongs to, within
a reasonable time and of course with reasonable effort on
your end. But I could just see so many people
just yeah, I'll get to it, and then weeks go
by and you still just have a box that you
haven't opened yet. But here's what you need to know.

(16:45):
If you get a package that is addressed to you
that you don't know why you got it, you didn't
order it, it could be a scam. Now you are
allowed to keep it. But this is a scam called brushing.
And this makes sense again. The scammers are smart, man.
They use their savbiness for you know, legal stuff. They
could be really productive. But they'll send out these sellers

(17:08):
on these different sites like Amazon and whatnot, they'll send
out cheap items to real addresses, using fake buyer accounts
to inflate their rating so it looks like verified purchases
and it helps them sell more expensive items. And then
some packages now include those QR codes that by clicking

(17:28):
that or using that, you're giving them your info, Phishing malware,
that kind of stuff. So these scams should be reported
to the FBI or to Amazon. But again I think
people being proactive about reporting this kind of stuff or
you know, stopping their day to find out how they
can get somebody's package to them. If you do that,
then you're then it's great. And I don't think anybody

(17:49):
would be like, hey, that's mine now, but like it's
just taking the actual time out of your busy day
to do that. I could see people putting it off
or just saying they're not going to do it. So anyways,
if I got to I could j on my porch
that I did not order and had my info on it,
I think I would assume that somebody like sent it
to me is like a gift, but it's probably a

(18:10):
scam if that happens to me. All Right, you guys
have heard me talking about my friends at the Lois
of Men's Clinic for quite some time now, and for me,
it has been the testosterone therapy that I've really benefited from,
and I cannot recommend them enough. As far as just
if you're a guy out there and you just assume, hey,
you know, I'm I'm I'm I'm a manly man, I'm tough,

(18:32):
I don't need any help. I'm good to go. You
could be right, or you could not realize that you
your life could substantially improve by certain things like addressing
a rectile dysfunction if you may have that, or having
your testosterone levels the way at the levels that they
need to be for somebody that's in your age range.
And that was me. That was how I benefited and

(18:54):
still am from the Lois of Men's Clinic. I didn't,
you know, I didn't realize that when you get older. Yeah,
there's some obvious signs of it, right, gray hair, the look.
But I started to lose my edge. I wasn't getting
the results in the gym, and I just assumed it
was because I was getting older. And then I realized,
wait a second, maybe something's not something's not right here,
and that's when I reached out to our partners at

(19:15):
the Little Men's Clinic and just a Q and a
with doctor Wood and sure enough they checked my levels
and they were nowhere near where they were supposed to
be for somebody in my age Raine. So I've maintained
the same lifestyle, same habits and now for the last
nearly two years. I mean it's it's a completely different
situation for me as far as just belly, fat, man, boobs, energy,

(19:38):
all the above. So I got no clue that you're
you know, what you can suffer from when your testosterone
levels are not where they need to be, and so
many just assume it's part of life. It's people grow
on it, and again it is part of it, but
it didn't have to be right like, and you get
if you get your levels checked by your physician, they're
not going to see anything alarming that's going to need

(19:59):
you to have you know, treatment or you know, any
type of procedure. But again, the Louis Men's Clinic will
will get your levels where they need to be for
your age range, and it's easily done. And again it's
made a big impact on me. So I can't recommend
them enough. Lovele Men's Clinic dot COM's the website. PABO
two four four four four thousand is the number. All right,
let's check on trafficking weather and we'll get another sports update.

(20:22):
I haven't checked to see if there's any update just yet,
but Tearan Moore. Last we heard he was still in
jail this morning. What a what a day in college football,
and what a day from Michigan football yesterday. All right,
stick around right here, who's radio eight forty whas
