Cincy Shirts. Cincy three sixty about Cincinnati from Cincinnati, sponsored
in part by Cincy Shirts. Cincy Shirts All Cincy, all Day.
This is ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Welcome back our two thanks to Cincy Shirts. Thank you
for listening on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station. It's
Cincy three sixty Thursday afternoon, one o'clock. You know what
time it is. From AIDA's E Sports covering the Cincinnati Bengals.
John Sheeran joining us right now. What's up, John?

Speaker 3 (00:36):
I don't know what happened Monday night, but I know
the Bearcats beat the Red hand Kansas on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
So that's that's all I care about.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Let's go, John Sharon, Ada's E Sports covering the Bearcats.

Speaker 5 (00:48):
Listen.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Scott Sadderfield the hero we didn't know we needed in
Cincinnati right now.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
I mean, I don't know if I want to go
that far, but you know what, sowreds b is playing
out of his mind.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
And I love to see it.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
I love to see uce quarterbacks thriving.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
That's what I'm about.

Speaker 5 (01:04):
If this thing unravels for the Bengals, John, how far
up is Scott Saderfield on the list to potentially replace
Sack Taylor.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
He can rise from like four billion to three billion,
nine and ninety nine nine right.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
More time, I'm moving up. I get what you're I'm
picking it up right now. It is a minus sixty
three point differential in a two game span, John, How
can things get better for the Cincinnati Bengalso.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
The most important parts of the team play above their.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Pay grader, play above what they've been at right now.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
It's it's hard to manufacture any success when you have
basically nothing from your quarterback, basically nothing from the people
helping your quarterback.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
We were supposed to help your quarterback. We knew that this.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Defense was going to be weeks away from potentially inching
closer to average, and they flashed here and there. But
it's just that they need to be the two thousand
eight out there to complement this offense because they can't
do anything right. The offensive line is still very much incomplete.
You're still not getting any consistency from your five starters.

(02:11):
The best players in this offense aren't getting the ball
in a timely manner or in that position where they
can succeed. The quarterback, who is best attribute has been accuracy.
He doesn't look quite accurate, and they're asking to make
throws that you would probably only expect Joe Burrow to make.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
So it is kind of mind.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Boggling how the architects behind this offense apparently need more
time to manufacture production out of Jake grinding compared to
the last time that they've been through this. I don't
understand it, but that's kind of how they're in the situation.
They're not getting anything from their quarterback and the drop
off has been severely more extreme than we even thought.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
There are so many different avenues to take when talking
about the game on Monday night. I thought the lost
Monday was worse than the Minnesota Vikings loss because they
didn't turn the ball over. You could look to the
Minnesota game and just man, it's a fluke. Those type
of things sometimes happen. To get beat the way they
got beat in Denver and then to come back and
yesterday I hear Zach Taylor say that the words we

(03:09):
have a ton of unwavering confidence in Jake Browning. Do
you echo those sentiments? Do you right now have a
ton of confidence in Jake Browning? And do you think
the locker room has a ton of confidence in Jake Browning.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Well, I have no incentive to lie, so obviously no, right,
I mean, there's no way you can have confidence in
Jake Browning right now. That doesn't mean that he's incapable
of playing somewhat something resembling winning football.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
We just haven't seen it.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
And I think at this point you can assume that
whatever plan of just staying above water until Burrow maybe
comes back in December, it was probably far fetched because
you just can't rely on the consistency of someone who's
just not an established starter in this league, someone who
can't put together twelve quality games in the row. It
just can't be this bad, though, and that's what's still

(03:56):
kind of shocking, that he just can't get into a
rhythm offensively, can't find his guys down the field, and it's.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Just not been enough.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
So there's nothing to say that you have any confidence
in him just being what they need to be.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Again. He could play well.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Here and there in a handful of weeks, but in
terms of it being enough to keep this team competitive,
I don't know how you can have any confidence in that.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
I worry about the locker room. I worry about guys
listening to that and wondering how how do we have
that confidence? I wonder about guys like Jamar Chase and
T Higgins and to not get your catches and win games.
It's one thing to get blown out from back to
back weeks and not be a major part of what
your offense is doing, I imagine is frustrating. We talk
oftentimes about the word culture. How worrisome does the culture

(04:41):
become if we see another week of what we've seen
over the last two Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
I think everyone who's familiar with this team knows that
patience is just bacon to their identity, and they.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
Will always give the people that they.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Know, whether it's players or coaches, probably more than enough
to prove that they're not getting.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
The job done.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
And I don't think that's something that the players don't
understand or haven't seen before.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
In some ways, I think right now, though, because.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
There was an expectation for this offense, regardless if it
was Browning or Burrow back there to look anything remotely
better than this, that's what should expedite this process, because again,
it can't be understated how bad this offense has been
turnedover and be damned.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
In week three against the Vikings.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Right, what happened on Monday night, even against the defense
that does have a lot of talent Dever, it's just
beyond inexcusable and it's like you can't ignore that for
more than just a couple of weeks at this point.
So again, like Monday night was should have been a
watershed moment for the direction of this team, and I
think everyone can kind of see that the direction is

(05:49):
not positive. But we know that this team will take
more time than they probably should to make decisions that
all of us would probably.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
Have already made already. So I agree.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
I think people in that locker room, our notice team
what was happening, and it's only a matter of time
before you know, the conversations that we saw between Jamar
Chase and Zac Taylor that actually becomes contentions instead of
what was called to be productive.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
Rookie Jalen Rivers started on Monday against Denver. Zach Taylor
said he's going to start again Sunday against Detroit. What
did you see from him and how do you think
he's progressed to this point in the season.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Yeah, I think he looks more natural at guard compared
to tackle. He remind you he was rotating both between
both spots in college, and he'd never really had a
lot of foot quickness and agility as a pass protector.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
But I think even still.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
For a rookie, he plays very calm and there's going
to be some athletes that kind of get the best
of him and it can cross his face, and that
happened to him a couple of times. John Franklin Myers
is one of the more underrated defendive tackle of the league.
That was a pretty tough matchup for his first time,
so I didn't expect him to be perfect, and he
was definitely far from it, and especially with Marius Names
having arguably the worst game of his professional career next

(06:57):
to him, So it was a rough night for that
side of the outsive line. But I understand, you know,
giving him another shot, especially with the timing now with
Lucas Patrick still having one more week to go on
injured reserve, you give Rivers another chance to maybe play
at home, play a little bit more calm, in a
more calm environment, and see what he can do. Because
if he plays well, then you have the flexibility of

(07:19):
maybe giving Lucas Patrick another week to rest on injury reserve.
But if he doesn't, then you have that opportunity to
activate Patrick off the r and then make another switch.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Along the offensive line. It really does think that Delvin
Reizer wasn't able to come in and bring you some
solidity to that spot.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
I wouldn't have expected him to get benched this early
for Ricking Rivers, but I think they did see a
lot that they liked the Rivers in the preseason and
they wanted to give to give him this chance to
see what he can do. So obviously it wasn't great
on Monday night, but I expect him to be a
little bit better on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
The offensive line as a whole, we've discussed already throughout
the recent weeks. They're not a good run blocking group there,
I think soft. They're also not getting help. How difficult
is it to operate as an offensive lineman when you
are consistently snapping the ball with one second on the
play clock.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Yeah, I mean, I'm surprised what happened on Monday doesn't
happen more Austin. Usually it's Miles Garrett that ends up
doing that when they play up in Cleveland. But you know,
Nick Bonito and Johnathon Cooper are two really great edges
that can get under your pads and when you just
give them just a free pass, Like, yeah, the ball.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Game snapped in zero seconds. It's it was nothing that
won the Browns.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Junior and a Martinsons could really done in that situation
except also time to snap perfectly. So yeah, it's the
fact that it's even happening on punts. It's just frankly
and excusable. It's just a very consistent issue at this point.
I don't know why they can't have the correct communication
in their helmet and how this is an every week
sort of problem. But yeah, that was an unfortunate moment
for the offensive line. There was obviously much worse situations

(08:44):
than that.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
That was just kind of meaned across the internet.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
But I mean, it's just this is the NFL, Like
we can't just blame it on just playing on the
road like this is you have to do this a
half of your schedule.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
It's just an excusable cam Taylor Brick played five snaps.
He was not taken out due to injury. This is
a long list now of previous high draft picks that
this team has made that are just not panning out.
How worrisome is what you're seeing on the defensive side
of the ball, poor angles, poor tackling, the penalties. It

(09:13):
doesn't feel like it's getting better at this point. How
concerning does this become.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Tailor Bridt specifically is disappointing because when he's playing at
his best, he's one of their better athletes, Like he's
a true four or three guy, and he brings a
lot of power as a tackler too, if he's not
playing with his head on straight like Josh Newton.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Again, I think there's value.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
To him, but you saw like as as soon as
he came out too the field, there was like a
reverse that the Broncos had and he took a bad
angle and doesn't have the recovery speed to make up
for it, and that was one of.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
The touchdowns that they gave up. It's tough to see
him do anything.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Correctly right now, and when they're relying on guys that
just aren't athletically gifted like that, like it's easy for
offenses to kind of take advantage and just find easy
yardage in ways that the Bengals offense can so Tailor
Bridtz specifically is disappointing because you're accepting.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
An athletic disadvantage there.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
I think at linebacker you're starting to see more of
you know, Bear Carter and Demetrius Knife, and there's a
lot of ups and downs in that regard. It's just
it's like, if they don't get these turnovers on these
opportunity opportunities, then it's not much dissimilar to what it
was last year, where it's just hoping that, you know,
you keep them at the endine and they obviously couldn't do.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
That against Denver.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Where do they go right now as a team, because
it doesn't get any easier with the Detroit Lions coming in,
and I have a hard time wondering and believing how
they're going to stop Detroit or or move the ball
against Detroit. What are you looking forward or what are
you looking for from this team as it pertains to Sunday,
because it's easier to say, well, they need to win,
but the style in which they play right now, based

(10:47):
on the last two I think is so important. So
what will you be watching for the most on Sunday?

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Find a plan outside of these fifty fifty sideline balls
to get Jamar chasen te against the ball, like moving
them around, find them some making seas across the middle
of the field. Tomorrow, Chase is begging for the ball
on Monday and they couldn't get to him. He's like,
regardless who's that quarterback, he should not average four point
six yards for catch, like that is your one hundred

(11:14):
and sixty million dollars player out there. And if he's
not making an impact and this defense can't be relied
on to keep the Lions probably under thirty points.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
You don't have a chance. So you need to maximize.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
He needs to utilize the players that are supposed to
carry you to the promise. And regardless if the quarterback
is out there or not, like that's that's up to
the coaching staff man, that's up to the guys who
are putting this plan together as we speak. And if
you can't get them the ball, if you can't generate
anything remotely close to explosive plays on offense, mind you,
this team is the fewest explosive plays going back to

(11:47):
twenty twenty two. Like, if you can't do that against
the Lions team that while they had a lot of
brain drain on the coaching staff still know how to
utilize their players. There's no hope for that, So it's
entirely on the offensive side of the ball to manufacture
any sort of thing that can just help them out
instead of just.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
Churning out any sort of rare first down.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
I do wonder now at this point, John, going forward,
I thought yesterday, there's kind of three ways that you
can take. You can, obviously at some point here soon
become a seller and move on from pieces and try
to acquire draft capital or whatever else you want to
in return. There's the idea that you can go all
in and try to go sign a Russell Wilson or

(12:26):
any quarterback you want to throw up there, maybe someone
that can help this team, or you just keep things
status quo. I think status quo is the most dangerous
because I think that sends a wrong message to the
locker room. Much like we talked about with the confidence
in Jake Browning, what path would you recommend for the
Cincinnati Bengals going forward.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
I see both sides.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
I really do like I feel like it can't really
get worse at quarterback right now. And I say that
with all due respect to Jack Running, but it's just
been an absolute futriod showing out there.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
You can't hide from that.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
You can't hide from the fact that there are other
options out there that are just more proven or who
are more capable as quarterbacks. And the whole reason behind
you know, keeping Browning for the past two bears is
that he's been familiar with the system, he's familiar with Burrow,
and you trust him to just immediately take over. If
this is the result of that, if this is the
outcome of that process, the process is fails, and that's

(13:21):
just something that you have to look into the mirror.
So like, that's why you should be entertaining other options
of quarterback. But I also understand that this offensive line
is still terrible and the offense that they're running behind
this offense line.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Is still not putting them in the best position.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
So if you have another quarterback like Rutts or Jamis
who also can't necessarily create out of pressure or create
out of structure and avoid pressure like Groundings, sure can't.
I can see why another quarterback here wouldn't exactly thrive
with what they're asking.

Speaker 6 (13:48):
Him to do.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
So it's a combination of a lot of things that
just aren't going well and I understand why another quarterback
here wouldn't necessarily have any more success. But you can't
just say that the quarterback is not the problem here,
because he's part of it.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
John Sharon a is E Sports covering the Cincinnati Bengals.
It truly right now is a week to week season,
it feels like for the Cincinnati Bengals as they look
to erase what has been an abysmal two week stretch.
For all your coverage of the Bengals, John, and for
those to be able to follow along, what's the easiest
way to do so?

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Absolutely, guys sports dot com backslat Cincinnati. Eight is E
Sports Cincinnati on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, wherever you get
your video content, we're there as well.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Appreciate you John, as always phenomenal stuff. We'll talk again
next week.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
Thanks boys, There he is.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
John Sharon eight is E Sports for now covering the Bengals.

Speaker 5 (14:41):
Maybe some Bearcats here in the future. A lot of
for nows out there in the world, a lot of
for nows.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
As for now, we celebrate the eighth anniversary of Sincy
three to sixty. That'll continue with a part of the
show that has made this very special do we make
it to a ninth I would hope so. I don't
know what the powers would be. Whatever say, I don't
really hear from them. One year from now, are we
doing this?

Speaker 5 (15:06):
I hope so. I hope so too.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
One year from now, what are we talking about if
we're doing this Red Season? Is it's still going on?

Speaker 5 (15:13):
Oh yeah, okay, so we'll be talking about who just
won in the wild card round and is coming to
Cincinnati to play the Reds. Bengals A four and oh?
Who had a first round by Bengals A four and
oh yeah, Bengals four and oh.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
Bear Cats coming off of college football playoff appearance now
looking to build on that appearance?

Speaker 5 (15:31):
Is this now? How can you have that mentality for
the Bearcats but not for the Reds.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Because the bear Cats are definitely tied for the lead
in the Big Twelve.

Speaker 5 (15:41):
You said you're you like you just celebrated an appearance. No,
I didn't celebrate an appearance. That's what it sounded like. No, no, no, no,
no no no. I said they're coming off of a
playoff appearance, but they want more. You would be happy
with that?

Speaker 6 (15:55):
No?

Speaker 5 (15:56):
I think you would? We want more? Would you be happy?
If they made the college football playoff and lost in
the first.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Round, depends what they play. If it's o higher state
to know, I'm not happy because I want blood. Your
talkback's next Sin's three sixty on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati
Sports Station. Thanks to our friends at Cincy Shirts.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Now since three sixty here every show at ESPN fifteen
thirty dot com.

Speaker 7 (16:26):
It's that templest spread a stand and down clean.

Speaker 6 (16:38):
A spring goes.

Speaker 8 (16:41):
I wish that temple to best.

Speaker 7 (16:44):
It's our favorite part of sin.

Speaker 9 (16:46):
Sorry, three sex, stay.

Speaker 6 (16:50):
Stay well.

Speaker 7 (16:51):
You played at the backs on your screen and try
not to sanitize it.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Welcome back. Thanks to our runs at sinty Shirts. We'll
give away a Sincy Shirts gift card tomorrow to the
best talkbacker. We thank Cincy Shirts as we do Skyline Chili,
and as we do all of our talkbackers who continue
to make this a ton of fun.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
Well.

Speaker 8 (17:13):
Admiral Yamamoto brought into Fleet and sank to Red's October
and at the end they were celebrateing with Sasaki. Oh man,
you know things you're bad during the forefenning when your
eight year old look at you and says, you know,
I'm losing confidence in the Reds out of mouths of babes.
And does anyone else think that Tito says here for
the sun flywer season a paycheck.

Speaker 5 (17:31):
M all right? Man, man, mm mmmmm man.

Speaker 10 (17:35):
That might be the worst coaching I've ever witnessed in
my entire life. How do you pull your second best
pitcher after an inning in two thirds when he's only
giving up one hit?

Speaker 5 (17:50):
Tough?

Speaker 10 (17:50):
And who in the hell sends a pinch hitter up
there with one ball and two strikes cold? He doesn't
even get a chance to time the picture up before
he's already struck out.

Speaker 5 (18:05):
Yeah, remarkable, literally remarkable last night, could not believe it.

Speaker 11 (18:11):
Well, the cockroaches finally found the roach motel out there
at the Hotel California. Look to me like they were
all pressing too much. I think just about everybody had
a hand in those two losses, young team pressing too hard?
Oh well, hey, can we go get the big bopper
from Middletown please?

Speaker 6 (18:33):
What's his name? Yeah?

Speaker 11 (18:34):
That that that got to hit dingers from Middletown Reds?

Speaker 5 (18:42):
Do we need to do this right now? Let's just
get it out now. Are not going to sign Kyle Schwarber.
Kyle Schwarber will not take a hometown discount to play
for the Reds, even though he's from Middletown. Even if
he did offer them a hometown discount, they wouldn't pay
that much. It's not going to happen. Nope.

Speaker 12 (19:05):
Tony Tonell and a Greek sauce as you go out,
silverton big al look Tony last night. I think it
comes down to is the Dodgers are just a bad matchup.

Speaker 13 (19:13):
For the Reds.

Speaker 12 (19:14):
That's really what it was. And so with that being said,
my sports fandom for this fall comes down to one
man's shoulders and as mister Scott Saderfield, which is just
me chills on the back of my neck thinking about it. Man,
I need to get into something different. Sports are just
not it. Maybe I'll start watching Dancing with the Stars
or something.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
I saw there was like a big doubleheader basically for
Dancing with the Stars in the Reds game at the
same time. Really, I saw a lot of people going
dual screen action, really, which I didn't know. Dancing with
the Stars was still a thing right that? What is it?
Survivor American Idol? American Idol been around for forty years.

Speaker 8 (19:55):
Boy, I can't get over just people just absolutely losing
it today. Things they're saying, the way they're acting. I mean,
come on, folks, one of the people's sky I ain't.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Say one babble head, they mean one babble head.

Speaker 6 (20:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 14 (20:08):
I want to thank the Reds players and Tito for
a good season.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
I was entertained.

Speaker 14 (20:14):
I was also surprised by my mad reaction last night
towards the end of the game because of the two
run lead and the hopium in that. Also didn't like
all the celebrity shots on TV. Just made me feel
small and unworthy. But good season all round. Okay, good job,

(20:37):
so happy.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
How you playing Los Angeles? Sorry you feel that way.

Speaker 13 (20:40):
Hey fellas, it's Benny.

Speaker 15 (20:41):
I need a favor. I need to use my thirty
seconds of airwave freedom to call out one Marty Brenahan.
Marty Brenahan has been using his silly little show with
Tracy Jones to give us propaganda about Terrible Francona for
a year. Marty, I won a special show today. Just
off the mikes and come on and apologize to the

(21:03):
Cincinnati people about how wrong you've been about terrible frank Cono.
Will you do it.

Speaker 5 (21:10):
Is his new name. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
I thought for a moment last night it was Terry
the Magnificent Again, I did.

Speaker 16 (21:18):
Hello, this is former President Ronald Reagan, and well, three
D chess move by Terry Francona by saving Andrew Abbott
for Game three and Nick Lodolo for a potential Game four. Yeah,
but seriously, folks, that's like Zach Taylor having two timeouts
in his pocket as he watches the game clock run

(21:38):
out while the Bengals are attempting a fourth quarter comeback drive.

Speaker 5 (21:42):
Good point.

Speaker 16 (21:42):
I think I'm gonna go now and make some interest
payments on a loan I've not taken out.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
Good point. I still can't believe Nick Martinez came in
in the sixth.

Speaker 13 (21:51):
Nope, that was the guy guys Big Cahoon in Kentucky.

Speaker 6 (21:54):
I think to fix the Bengals you have to trate
a four.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
For speaking of this, We're just gonna shore standards on
Nick Martinez. There was a point in that Otania bat
where I knew watching and I know Otani knew it,
and I think Martinez did that. He didn't possess a
pitch that was gonna get him out.

Speaker 17 (22:11):
Correct that the Reds couldn't pitch Abbot last night and
we had to go with Littel. Why aren't we pitching
Lttel three innings? Nick Lodolo another three innings?

Speaker 5 (22:26):
Yep? And Chase Burns three innings? Yep. I know that's
frowned upon. But do or die go home, go home? Yep, yep, yep.
Play to win in two games? Emelio Pegan, Nick Lodolo,
Chase Burns Andrew Abbott combined for twenty seven pitches in

(22:48):
a two game series in which the Reds gave up
eighteen runs. Yep. Make it make sense.

Speaker 9 (22:54):
That was more of a Lewis and corking that champagne bottles.

Speaker 6 (22:59):
He has been.

Speaker 7 (23:00):
Sports figure and losing Cincinnati streak folklore.

Speaker 18 (23:05):
What plus you think it'd be easier to win one
baseball playoff game than one NFL one?

Speaker 5 (23:13):
They've always sounds like he's struggling.

Speaker 19 (23:16):
Repping the city out here and not so sunny hot
and what up Tony?

Speaker 4 (23:19):
What up?

Speaker 5 (23:20):
Body?

Speaker 19 (23:21):
The day in life of a since night sports fan, Man,
it stinks, especially on National TV.

Speaker 5 (23:26):
I come to work getting made fun of it.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
Just what it is?

Speaker 5 (23:29):
The lovable losers of sports.

Speaker 19 (23:31):
From red to the Bengals to the Bearcats, just embarrassing
on national TV. I still love my city, still love
my sports teams. I'm going down with the ship. This
is how it is being a sports fan of Cincinnati,
straight jokes.

Speaker 5 (23:46):
How do we get from where we are to where
we want to be?

Speaker 6 (23:51):
That's substantiic.

Speaker 20 (23:54):
I hate sports, Hey not stand anything that has to
do anything with sports.

Speaker 6 (24:06):
I hate the team concept.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
I hate sports radio.

Speaker 20 (24:11):
I hate everything about spark.

Speaker 14 (24:15):
It kills me.

Speaker 5 (24:18):
I had dark.

Speaker 21 (24:21):
Why is it when the Reds make the playoffs and
don't win, it's an unsuccessful season. However, when the Bengals
do it, it's called a successful season, according to you,
the media.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
People who said that.

Speaker 21 (24:32):
I don't understand the hypocrisy who said I know that
you guys favor the Bengals a little bit more.

Speaker 5 (24:37):
Than who said that, which is kind of sad crazy.

Speaker 21 (24:39):
I think you guys should be fair to both. It
seems like you criticize the Reds more than you do
the Bengals, and the way the Bengals are playing, you
need to criticize them.

Speaker 5 (24:47):
A lot more.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
I would love to hear when I have said anything
about getting to the postseason and not winning anything was
a success.

Speaker 5 (24:54):
Correct, Those words have never come out of my mouth
and I just can't reiterate enough that there's not many
eight to nine times where the Bengals will make the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
I felt like the Reds this year were that eighty
three wins, forty and forty over the last eighty to
do that and then get swept the way they did.

Speaker 5 (25:13):
And the Bengals do at least try, I think harder
than the Reds to win. I think the Bengals are
more are more in an aggressive pursuit of a championship
than the Reds and I could, at least over the
last time. I think I could, at least over the
last five years see and understand the vision that the

(25:34):
Bengals were building. Yeah, and we have criticized them heavily
because they have failed to build around Joe Burt. But
they have tried. But they have tried, and Mike, the
Bengals have gotten to the playoffs and won multiple playoff games.
The Bengals are five and two in the playoffs since
twenty twenty one, five and two. The Reds haven't won

(25:58):
a single playoff game in thirteen years. They have not
advanced in the postseason. In over thirty it is the
strongest drought of any North American sports team not to
advance in the postseason. So they do play under a
different set of rules because they are a organization of

(26:18):
failure for three decades.

Speaker 18 (26:21):
Correct been a little quiet on the Ken and Marcus
front this week. Will this be the year that the
Kentucky Wildcats go down to Athens, Georgia and actually keep
it respectable?

Speaker 6 (26:32):
Oh?

Speaker 22 (26:34):
Whoa that's talking about I'll never understand why the whole
city of Cincinnati is just okay with mediocrity from the
local ball club. I mean, this is one of the
most historic franchises in baseballs, a big red machine, wired
wired champion. I mean, we should be expecting a lot
more and we have just sunk to being mediocre is fine.

(26:55):
That's like being the smartest kid in the stupid classes
and being stoked Like what.

Speaker 5 (27:02):
Yeah, well said. I have gotten some tweets from people,
this one guy Joe, he's a big Phillies fan. He said,
you can't go that long without a playoff appearance and
think World Series are bust right away? Why why can't
I why I didn't say that point, But why can't
I what's the point. Did you see Mookie Betts with
Scott Van Pelt last night said it was neat that

(27:24):
the Reds got into the playoffs. There was another Dodgers
fan that tweeted at me that said, you guys aren't
even close to being competitive. Just take this step and
and build on it. Oh yeah, that's fun. You see that.
That's like being patted on them on the head and
being told, oh mo, that's how people think of this organization.

(27:45):
They are an afterthought. They are irrelevant. They are so
far from contending and so far from being that once
proud historical franchise. The Cincinnati Reads mean nothing to anybody
in the United States of America outside of Cincinnati, Ohio.
And that is a shame for how far this organization

(28:06):
has fallen.

Speaker 8 (28:07):
Hello is Russell Wilson there? Oh hi, Russell Wilson.

Speaker 23 (28:16):
This is as than from even Dale, Ohio.

Speaker 24 (28:22):
Will you please come to Cincinnati and be our quarterback.

Speaker 5 (28:28):
What's really weird about this talkback is that it was
left at the exact same time as this talkback.

Speaker 6 (28:34):
Hello, Hello, wow, this is that on even Dale.

Speaker 25 (28:37):
Congratulations on twenty twenty eight years of since the six
point thirty I liked it better when it was an hour.
That's too much to follow with three hours. Oh so
my votes for going back to one hour.

Speaker 5 (29:00):
I only listened for the traffic report right anyway.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
And the good news with all of this, Evan, is
that you could just listen to the hour and then
catch up with the rest on the uh the radio app.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
Yeah, and podcasts for I saw a list today of
the one hundred best sports podcast in Cincinnati. I didn't
say sports, it was just the one hundred Cincinnati one
hundred best Cincinnati podcasts. Yeah you know it was number one.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Well I'll tell you. I'll tell you who didn't make
this list in City Beat. You're dead to me. You
have always been a fan of feed spot. Oh yeah,
that's where I go to get my information. You need
to talk out one hundred best Cincinnati podcast on feed
spot and see what they.

Speaker 5 (29:38):
Have to say. Yep, I love feed Spot.

Speaker 6 (29:40):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (29:41):
Shout out the feed Spot.

Speaker 26 (29:42):
Hey, Tony and Austin, it's Jimmy turn. The concerning the Bengals,
I just want to say it's probably time just to
rip this thing down to the studs. I think that
at this point you need to look for a new
coaching staff who probably wants to start with a quarterback
that they can rely on. As far as health, I
think youocus on the offensive line, getting each one of

(30:03):
those positions right, because if you can protect anything, then
I think any pro level quarterback can operate in all.

Speaker 5 (30:11):
Okay, he said, Jimmy from the G. What do we think?
The G is? Glenn Ville, George.

Speaker 27 (30:19):
Do, the Reds, the Bengals, and a cow that can't
produce milk, Kevin Common.

Speaker 6 (30:25):
They're all utter failures for milk. Todge.

Speaker 28 (30:30):
Hey, I know Tito's a Hall of Fame manager and
all those things, but I thought he mishandled Will Benson.

Speaker 5 (30:36):
I agree. I agree.

Speaker 28 (30:38):
I thought he mishandled Elie Da la Cruz in the
second half. So he's not above criticism. I'm glad he
got us to the playoffs, but I was expecting more
from him strategically.

Speaker 5 (30:50):
Yep.

Speaker 28 (30:51):
Hopefully next year we'll get it together and go for.

Speaker 5 (30:54):
With Francona's career, I think it becomes even more fair
to question him because the expectations are a lot higher,
and he's seen a lot, and he's done a lot,
and so when a guy like that makes decisions that
don't make sense. It very fair to criticize him because
we've seen him not make those mistakes in the best.
He has to answer that as well.

Speaker 6 (31:15):
That's on eight years.

Speaker 29 (31:16):
Gentlemen, Tony, your opening question today was exactly what we
talk about, and that's if you're a Vets fan, you're
insane because every year you expect different results.

Speaker 6 (31:26):
But this organization does the same exact thing.

Speaker 29 (31:29):
And the result from this year, backing in with a
three wins means nothing will change in the offseason and
we'll go through it all again. Maybe in eight more
years we'll get another Plaiff appearance.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
My biggest fear Austin as this becomes well, we were
that close. We don't need many big changes.

Speaker 30 (31:45):
Hey, guys, Jeff new Richmond, a couple of points about
the Reds real quick. I would fire Chris ba Lake today.
I would hire a new hitting coach with major league success,
whether it be Joey Vado or Sean Casey. I would
fire Nick Crawl today. I would bring in a new
GM whose number one directive from ownership is to sign

(32:09):
Kyle Schwarber this offseason.

Speaker 5 (32:11):
Man improved of.

Speaker 30 (32:12):
The fan base that this is just not a one.

Speaker 5 (32:15):
We're on the Swarber train too much today, al Right.
I do think we're gonna hear some here about some
changes to the Red's coaching staff. I think we're gonna
hear about that in the next couple of days. I
heard a great Joey Vado story last night. It was
from Dan Strayley. You remember him former picture. Yes. He said,
They're all goofing around in the dugout one day and Jay,
Bruce and Brandon Phillips and they're all laughing and Joey's

(32:37):
kind of sitting there and he's not making a sound.
And Dan Strayley says, Joey, is that not funny to you?
And Joey just kind of looks at him and says,
not now, Daniel.

Speaker 27 (32:45):
I'm working, Hey, guys, Chris and Alexandria. Here Chris, because
I'm walking down thirty two munch going back to the
car place to get my car. Hey, I just want
to say happy eighth anniversary. My eighth anniversary to my
wife was September seventeenth, last month, so right around the

(33:08):
time the show started. I've been listening a long time,
maybe not eight years, but definitely since it was a
one hour deal. You guys are doing great. Keep it up.

Speaker 5 (33:17):
As far as I'm concerned. You'd listened to us on
the wedding day?

Speaker 6 (33:19):
Yep. Yeah.

Speaker 31 (33:21):
I remember when since He three sixty debuted and it
was I think jameser Peene and Moegar and I'm like,
what is this crap? Because I was listening to Levatard
and guys took away the last hour of that show.
But then I remember when Levatar took over for Colin
Cowherd and I said the same thing, like, what is
this crap? So you guys do great job, keep it up.
Always enjoy talkbacks. Show's funny. Always keeps me entertained out

(33:45):
here working every day.

Speaker 6 (33:47):
Keep going.

Speaker 32 (33:48):
Well, thank you. I appreciate that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right,

(34:15):
that was nice. All right, that was the first page
of talkbacks.

Speaker 5 (34:19):
You know what's crazy is.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
I have a wedding anniversary on Sunday. Yours my wedding anniversary. Yeah,
this show has been in existence longer than I've been married.

Speaker 5 (34:31):
Ye, how about that tone, Audie, what's going on?

Speaker 33 (34:35):
Congratulations on the eight years. And I heard you guys
talking about, you know, doing a Sincy three sixty appreciation night.
How about this? Since the three sixty golf outing. Let's go,
let's go out, hit the course, dump some beers.

Speaker 6 (34:52):
Who says no.

Speaker 5 (34:53):
I would love a Sincy three sixty golf outing.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
Yeah, I think.

Speaker 23 (35:02):
On Sunday that kind of threw the rotation out of whack.
Congratulations on the eight years. Absolutely, I would give a
pinky finger to Sincy three sixty. If you can work
out the details the surgery, I would gladly do it.
All right, Oh, you guys have a great show.

Speaker 5 (35:24):
Let's see if we can start talking to a hospital
or and maybe get uh get your pinky on display
in the studio.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
That would be unbelieva. I would like that, I believe
is the first. That would be clearly that's the first
gift we've been asked to be gifted.

Speaker 5 (35:39):
Gifted. Oh, we did get a gift from John Michael. Oh,
he came in studio with us. Yes, but I'm talking
about it for today, oh today.

Speaker 24 (35:47):
Yeah, Hey guys Marcus from the groove, Hey Marcus Marcus.
I stand behind my comment yesterday Lettel had no business
being out there, no Nation game.

Speaker 8 (36:00):
Season.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
You have to live or die by your guy.

Speaker 16 (36:03):
And for the.

Speaker 24 (36:04):
People who keep saying will you throw abbit, who do
you throw Game one if you make it?

Speaker 5 (36:10):
Brady Singers look pretty good.

Speaker 24 (36:12):
I think that was a horrible miss by Francona to
live and die by a fifth star wich you got
in the deadline?

Speaker 5 (36:19):
Yep.

Speaker 34 (36:22):
Hey, this is Josh and Hebre and happy anniversarysh guys.
You guys are so awesome. You make me laugh every
time I listen to you. You try to be as
objective as you can possibly be. My interest in sports
has waned over the years, sorry to say, because all
of our teams suck, but I continue to listen to

(36:44):
you guys.

Speaker 5 (36:44):
Thank you, guys are awesome. I hope you have many
more years of doing this show. Peace. Appreciate that.

Speaker 14 (36:51):
Yeah, it was a great season for the retch.

Speaker 4 (36:53):
Just say Tito over the picture rotation.

Speaker 6 (36:58):
But I'll give him a break.

Speaker 14 (37:00):
He did make a bunch of good decisions, and actually
the front office make some good decisions with the acquisitions
since they.

Speaker 4 (37:07):
Made it to trade deadline.

Speaker 14 (37:08):
Hopefully they may continue to make some good ones into
the off season and I think they can take that
next Go Reds and here's to twenty six.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
Let's go maybe twenty twenty six is the year for
the Bengals. The Reds and since the three six.

Speaker 7 (37:22):
Hey, Tony, Hey, Hey Jimmy, Hey Jimmy Claus.

Speaker 32 (37:27):
And Hey happy hey Jimmy, and so glad to talk
to you again.

Speaker 6 (37:31):
It's just such a long time, a great show. I
appreciate Mike. I appreciate Mike's call today. That was really good.

Speaker 27 (37:38):
So the best day ever radio was when the takeover,
when you're on the air, the normal Ray Pike takeover.

Speaker 4 (37:45):
Hey, let's get together soon.

Speaker 6 (37:47):
Man, we'll go Outdea.

Speaker 5 (37:48):
I got you, man, Yeah it again.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Thanks Jimmy. I'm a little I'm a little lighter today
at the statement.

Speaker 6 (37:56):
I think we've been way too differential to Francona. He's
made so many mistakes.

Speaker 5 (38:02):
Yeah, he's a Hall of fay Man.

Speaker 6 (38:03):
I have to take the gloves off. And second, Brendan Sowersby,
he's amazing, fifth year senior, Tony, he sounds more like
a veteran pro quarterback.

Speaker 5 (38:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (38:13):
I just hope Sadurfield doesn't blow it.

Speaker 5 (38:16):
Hey, man, obvious ear in a week to.

Speaker 35 (38:18):
Be anniversary to three sixty. I've only been around for
the last couple but happy to hear you guys have
hit your eight. I would be remissed if I didn't
mention a couple other anniversaries coming up. My daughter, first of.

Speaker 5 (38:32):
All, twenty one tomorrow.

Speaker 35 (38:34):
Okay, in twenty days time, my grandparents will be celebrating
their sixty ninth wedding anniversary. Here's wishing you guys that
kind of lungs.

Speaker 5 (38:43):
Jeviny happy to be anniversary boys twenty first birthday on
a Friday in the fall. Boy I have had its sister.
Oh boy home Everyton Bay.

Speaker 32 (38:54):
Folks.

Speaker 36 (38:54):
I have been missing in action, but actually can hear
it from the noisy atmosphere around me. I am in
a roxy cap on my way to Cincinnati to cover
the Cincinnati Bengals against.

Speaker 4 (39:04):
The Detroit Lions.

Speaker 36 (39:06):
I have been missing in action, so I'm looking forward
to see Joe Burrow and that he's most likely I
think four or no Bengals against the declining Detroit Lions,
who lost both the coordinators and centime Tom every ten BBC.

Speaker 5 (39:19):
News Loop, especially considering there's a game in London this week.
He's gonna be surprised on Sunday.

Speaker 37 (39:30):
Hey, guys, it's reassuring when I hear you guys reciprocate
the same exact puss I had when I was watching
the game last night, Little should have been pulled a third.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
Will Benson being pulled in the middle of Is that bad?
With disrespectful?

Speaker 5 (39:44):
The player crazy?

Speaker 17 (39:47):
You know?

Speaker 5 (39:47):
Just looking ahead to.

Speaker 37 (39:49):
Next year, South Stewart obviously is going to be probably
making this roster, right Can he just play first base?

Speaker 4 (39:55):
In dh police, I mean he moves like Sean Casey.
He cannot play third.

Speaker 5 (40:01):
Put some respect on the John Casey, of course famously
thrown out from left field on a single one. You
got to put the respect on here, Hey.

Speaker 6 (40:07):
Tony Nawson.

Speaker 31 (40:08):
I reach out to you guys on Twitter about you know,
just the precedent.

Speaker 4 (40:12):
Of Mike Brown.

Speaker 31 (40:13):
You know, I know, let he let go Sam White
a few years after the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
So what what do you think would call in your
guys spinion?

Speaker 6 (40:21):
What do you think would.

Speaker 33 (40:21):
Cause him to go down a similar.

Speaker 17 (40:24):
Path with uh with with Zach?

Speaker 4 (40:27):
So do you think it's just him losing the locker
room or what else?

Speaker 6 (40:30):
What other things you.

Speaker 4 (40:31):
Think are at play?

Speaker 33 (40:32):
And do you think Burrow has a say in that
final decision?

Speaker 5 (40:35):
Sure, I would think Joe would be consulted. I would
think if they continue to get embarrassed, Zach will be
fired I think at the end of the day, like
you said, if they play similar to what we've seen
over the last couple of weeks, you can't go thirteen
more weeks. Especially, I think this Thursday night game against
Pittsburgh supposed to be a wide out game, White Bengal
National TV. Yep, if they lay another egg, you got

(40:59):
the mini buy. Might be the time.

Speaker 9 (41:03):
Terry Francona, no doubt about it, as we all know,
Hall of Fame manager. But there's no way around the
fact that Tito had a bad couple of days, bad
couple games. But you know it all started with that celebration.
You back into the playoffs, you get there because the
Mets have an epic collapse, you lose.

Speaker 5 (41:22):
The No, No, it's had nothing to do with celebration.
You're allowed to celebrate making the playoffs.

Speaker 38 (41:29):
Good question for you both, Who do you believe will
be the first team in this decade to bring home
the hardware? With a bit of Bengals winning the Super Bowl,
with it be the Reds winning the World Series, Will
it be FC Cincinnati, little bit the Barcatch winning the
National Championship? Who do you believe will be the first
team to bring home the hardware to Cincinnati in this decade.

Speaker 5 (41:53):
As of right now, it feels to me like FC
Cintinwnti's the closest Bengals.

Speaker 13 (42:00):
Hi, guys, it's Bake. Congratulations on your eighth anniversary.

Speaker 5 (42:05):
Thank you.

Speaker 13 (42:05):
Eight is for Joe Morgan. Eight is for Jeff Blake,
and I consider myself listener number seventy eight. My question
what happens with Joe Burrows money as it relates to
the cap Do they just eat all that or do
they have some free cap space? Now, not that Mike
Brown would spend anymore.

Speaker 5 (42:25):
What do you talk Thanks? Let's he talking about I
don't know you're gonna get his money?

Speaker 37 (42:32):
Not really that concern guys about what's going on with
the Reds and the Bengals. We've been through this for
the past thirty years. I'm moving on to Neo's gentlemen's
gaming versus Tea pains. Nappy boy, Grizzlies go nappy boy, Grizzly,
Oh boy.

Speaker 2 (42:48):
Oh boy, shout out man.

Speaker 5 (42:53):
We're done, shot boys.

Speaker 6 (42:56):
Te pain.

Speaker 2 (42:59):
A break is is what's needed right now. We'll get
a football in the Natti. We'll finish up hour two
and we got Tom Gamble and Bob man Jean.

Speaker 5 (43:08):
Still now three and Mowager.

Yeah, it's football and NATI here. End of our number two.
We don't have a lot of time here. We've got
a loaded hour. Number three. Bob man Jean will kick
things off. Tom Gamble will join us. Mowagger is going
to be in the building. If we've got time for
a couple of phone calls, we will gladly get those
in as well. From a football standpoint, let's keep it
very simple. Austin the Bengals as of right now, ahead

(43:53):
of tomorrow or ahead of Sunday, I should say our
listed is a ten and a half point underdog. Do
you see a path that they cover ten and a half?

Speaker 5 (44:03):
I have no basis for this, none, no data, no
statistic nothing. All I have, much like Terry Francona, is
a gut feeling, oh my, that the Bengals play well,
Oh Boy on Sunday. Not well enough to win cover,

(44:26):
but well on Sunday. We'll talk more about that tomorrow
at Home Rama. Let's go. We're on the road. Tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
We're at Home Rama. Thanks to pellow windows and doors,
