AHI, Welcome back to Friday Football Frenzy ESPN fifteen thirty
Cincinnati Sports Station. Thanks to our dear friends at Sinci Shirts.
Right now, Austin, I am on the Sinci shirts dot
com website purchasing some shirts for the football season. I
wear a two XO. That's what I was doing over
the break. I have wanted this smells like Team Spirit
(00:57):
shirt since it came out. I want the retro football
Classic script. I'm on since Church dot Com during each
commercial right now, filling out my orders. But as we
kick off our number two, I'm gonna pause from that
to take it to our guest who joins us in
this timeslot each and every Friday afternoon. He does so
(01:17):
right now as well, our good friend Charlie Goldsmith is
with us.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
What's up, Charlie?
Speaker 4 (01:22):
How are you doing? Tony good?
Speaker 3 (01:23):
How are you?
Speaker 4 (01:25):
I'm doing great. I'm doing great. For Sunday.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Ready for Sunday, also, Charlie. Ready for a big Reds weekend.
We haven't even talked about the Reds in a while,
but let's do so for just a moment. Because the
Reds enter this series against the A's one and a
half out of the wild card. You have the Mets
who have to take on the Texas Rangers, who are
a very good baseball team. The Giants go up against
the Dodgers. They've got some studs pitching over the weekend.
(01:50):
How have the Reds been able to do it? How
have they been able to hang around for much of
this second half?
Speaker 4 (01:57):
I give a lot of these guys into visually a
lot of credit, and then of course collectively, there's something
connective between the group that's led to that as well.
But like you look at the turnaround, the one under
the one hundred and eighty degree turnaround that TJ. Friedel
has made from getting cold to getting hot. You look
at Matt McClain who went from having his worst stretch
of the season to the best. You look at Andrew
(02:18):
Abbott from having his worst stretch of the season to
the best. Hunter Green going from the il to make
a huge difference, the bullpen and Connor Phillips and Zak
Maxwell stepping up in big moments. There's just a lot
of guys doing stuff. And when you get to September
and the pressure mounts as the tension gets hired. To
have that many guys taking positive strides at the same time,
(02:41):
that's really impressive and they're now officially back in it.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
All right.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
The Bengals Charlie coming out of last Sunday against the
Cleveland Browns obviously not what they want to be offensively.
Do you attribute it to just a slow start and
that's been what's plagued them, or was Cleveland able to
do something that maybe other defenses can try to emulate
as well.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
I just think because of the low possession game that
it became, and it was only that much of a
low position game just because Cleveland was determined to take
three yards to play. Because of the low possession game
of play, the whole offensive output came down to really
four plays. The go ball to Jamar, another go ball
to Jamar, a whole shot a Te Higgins, and then
(03:27):
a deep kind of cross out to Jamar Chase. All
four of those players were about to foot away from
being completed, from being completed. If the Bengals complete all four,
they score thirty points. If they complete two, they're probably
pushing twenty eight. If they complete one, they run away
with the game. And it feels completely different. And the
Browns made some plays you felt Miles Garrett's presence, But
(03:48):
for the most part, I just shock it up to
a small example size on those plays. Now that we're
still concerns, my biggest being the team's formatted offense and
they what they are able to do when they have
to establish a power run game in known Russian situations.
But on the whole I was actually much less concerned
about the game and the passing game.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Offensively, Is there a way, Charlie that they can fix
just with technique or maybe scheme the run game, because
it doesn't look or feel to me like the offensive
line is built around a power run scheme. They're built
around protecting Joe Burrow. They paid the receivers and Joe
Burrow all the money and yet it does feel like
they want to establish the run. Is there a way
schematically that maybe they can do it if they don't
(04:30):
possess that From just an individual play by play basis.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
I was actually fine with the run game up until
third and one. In the fourth quarter wasn't great. There
were a couple of plays where kind of Chase Brown
just got tripped up and was that close to breaking
off an explosives and there was a kind of a
toss that ended up nearly working out for them as well.
But then the third and one where they got heavy
in the Browns match with their biggest personnel and the
(04:56):
Bengals got stuffed, and then the drives where they put
Cody Ford and Drew Sample and Noah Fanse all in
to try to block, and the fact that those runs
went backwards. Now, a lot of those tackles were made
given up by plays on the perimeter. There was also
one play where Orlando Brown Union just fell down and
that can't happen. But it's those types of plays that
(05:18):
I think is gonnat that they need a better answer for,
more so than just the flow of the normal game.
But again, it is optimistic glasses I'm putting on but
the flow of the normal game. Actually thought the run
game was all right.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Defensively, what were you most impressed with from what that
unit was able to do under Al Golden?
Speaker 4 (05:38):
The fundamentals, I mean, they hired Al Golden to have
the young guys play theft and the young guys played fast.
It's still a flawed defense. I'm still concerned about what
we saw at cornerback on Sunday. I think there are
still questions about what the safeties are going to do,
and they really get challenged down the field. There was
a nice debut from Demetrious Night, but there were learning
(05:59):
moments as well, clearly saw on tape as he gets
up to speed and the defensive line well, it had
a great end of the game. We spent the whole
first half talking about how the Bengals needed more of
a pass rush. So there's a lot of individual developments
and improvement that you need to see across the board
on defense. But they tackled, they ran right plays, they
chased the ball, They knew what they were doing when
(06:21):
there was a penalty or a play aloud. They didn't
point at each other and yell. The communication was probably
what they did that's so, that's simple stuff. That the
Bengals were terrible at last season al Golden had that
cleaned up.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Everyone is talked about Shamar Stewart, and rightfully so because
he's he's played at a very high level since he
has joined this team at the start of training camp.
But a player we've talked on and off about is
Demetrius Knight and then Dan Horde hit on earlier. I
think he had six tackles on the first drive of
the game. How impressive were or how impressed were you
with Demetrius Knight and his first opportunity as a playmaker
(06:57):
for this defense.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
Multiple pages of notes that I keep in an organized
fashion during the game, and there's one page where if
you can make it on this page like I'm really
honed in on that, I'm really zeroing in on that
it was a pass breakup. I believe against Mjoku that
the metrious Night maade that was so sick that that
play got special mention on the most impressive page in
(07:20):
my notes, and of course they don't give out any
awards for that, but that's how impressed that was with
that individual play. That was the exact skill set that
the Bengals coaching staff stressed during training camp he actually
kind of still has work to do, getting downhill, getting
through the line of scrimmage, making plays in the backfield
on the against the run, and kind of the point
of attack stuff. But you know, we do see his
(07:42):
speed kind of chasing the ball, making plays down the field.
But the skill set that was stressed the most kind
of was his instincts, his awareness, his physicality, his ability
to make plays against passes. For the Bengals to have
two of those guys in Logan Wilson and in Dmetrious Night,
I mean, that's a great play used to be for
the Bengals at the linebacker position.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Charlie.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
If you look at a box score and you see
linebackers with high tackle totals, that tells me they're playing well.
It also tells me that the front four is doing
their job and allowing them to not have to take
on many blocks because the front four is occupying them.
Did you view it Sunday as that that the front
four was able to really cause some disruption to Cleveland's
(08:24):
running game.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
The line that I really honed in on that, Al
Golden said when talking about TJ. Slayton was we couldn't
have played the boxes that we played without him. Well,
that means is it was a bunch of or mostly
lighter boxes, even though it was four to three. Well,
the third linebacker was kind of more split out, not
right in the middle, but there was more spread there.
The way they aligned their defense showed how much confidence
(08:48):
they had in their nose tackle, being able to occupy
double teams, being able to really strongly set the point
of attack and anchor it. He did that, and I
think actually the storyline from Sunday that had gotten that
needs to be to be talking about more. That kind
of flew under the radar the most and the most
unfairly was the fact that bj Hill essentially missed all
the training camp has to foot injury and to come
(09:11):
to play as many snaps as he did to be
really back at his natural position at three techs, and
it just looked like bj Hill, you know that, we
know he played a really good game, and with the
adversity that he had to deal with in training camp
and in the offseason with the injury, to be able
to just look as athletic as he did in Week one,
that really had my attention. And I think that deserves more.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Attention from your point of view.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
Looking ahead to Sunday, what are some matchups in this
game that are intriguing to you with what the Jags
bring to the table.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
Well, what this is all about is the Jags receivers
versus the Bengals corners. You know, the Bengals were a
misfield goal away from the story of the week being
kind of two important catches that DJ Turner allowed, and
then I believe two or three the camp till it
Brett Aloud as well, including one where he just got
caught flat footed and lost aware on the play, which
is the kind of stuff that can't happen. And Cam
(10:03):
is the guy. He's He's a momentum based corner kind
of is the best way I have to describe him
in terms of when he's rolling. When things are going great,
he can show up and turn in one of the
more impressive plays you've seen on the ball. But when
things start to slip away. We saw this in Carolina
last year, we saw this in la last year, and
then we saw it again in the fourth quarter in Cleveland.
(10:24):
Cam needs a better response system for that. And that's
not just Cam, that's the coaching staff continue to put
him in positions I keep saying about him. No one
is going to be able to benefit more from the
change and defensive coordinator than Cam, just because Al and
his system and the way he coaches players is conducive
more so for Cam to keep that confidence. But Cam
(10:45):
also knows he needs to make more plays, so he's
better set up around him to have like a good
week of practice this week, which he did, and they're
going to continue to put him in positions where he
can be his most confident self and can't acknowledge is
that and he appreciates that about this coajing's death, but
ultimately he has to play better.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
How much of the success that Jacksonville had on the
ground against Carolina concerns you about what they would try
or could be able to do against the Cincinnati Bengals,
because that's the thing. It's so early in the season.
They passed the first test against the Cleveland Browns. Here
comes a team that ran the ball extremely successful, and
we've already talked about the secondary and how you need
(11:25):
to make sure you get eyes to Brian Thomas. How
much does ETN create an issue for this defense on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
He had that explosive run last week. He's a well
known receiving option out of the backfield. He's probably the
big stressor for these linebackers. You bring in these linebackers
for versatile and dynamics and elusive backs like the Jaguars have,
and I actually am now I mentioned the magical most
worried about the Bengals. It's from a cornerback perspective, but
(11:53):
when you look at how inaccurate Trevor Lawrence was last week,
I see Jacksonville definitely trying to kind of set the
tone on the ground in this game and then turn
to their receivers kind of in some more high leverage
third down moments. That's going to be like Liam Cohone's
run game in Tampa is what got him the job
in Jacksonville. The terrific stuff he did in a play
(12:15):
caller and as a play designer. That's something that he
really brings to the table that clearly they're running back
and their offensive line and their team is ready to
execute right now. That's kind of giving an offense with
an up and down quarterback, it's foundation. So that's going
to be something I think we see a lot.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Early on Sunday, Joe Burrow went out of his way
to talk about Travis Hunter and how he was able
to watch a lot of what he did at Colorado
and mention the ball skills on the defensive side of
the ball normally growing up, if you're a player that
possesses good ball skills, you play wide receiver. That's why
you put on at quarter. Is if you don't have
the best ball skills, but you're a great athlete and
you can cover. How difficult does it make preparing for
(12:54):
a guy in Travis Hunter who is going to probably
play more on the defensive side of the ball because
he can and play and react to a ball defensively
much differently than your normal corner.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Frank lu I think happens is if they play more
on defense, they test him because this is a guy
who's still just have limited reps at training camp at
corner teams like he majored more in receiver and a
guy who obviously didn't play a ton at corner in
week one. So if you can make Travis Hunter tackle,
if you can make him kind of, you know, not
get tired, because he doesn't get tired, but kind of
(13:28):
start getting into the floor of the game as a
corner and then, oh, by the way, here the dagger
to t Higgins that no one in the league can stop,
and all of a sudden, now you're challenging him in
that way. That's the way to kind of kind of
break this Jaguars defense, kind of using hunters inexperience to
his advantage, because the upside is incredible. You know, we
could talk for an hour just about how special of
(13:49):
a player Travis Hunter is. But he's also an experience.
And this is the Bengals team that's shown a willingness to,
for lack of a better word, pick on the guys
who might not be as seasoned or fundamentally sound or advanced.
And it happened he be that when he hasn't even
been a corner full time through a training camp yet.
So those are all things I think the Bengals could
(14:11):
hone in on as opposed to the opposite and then
just frankly hope that your tackle Hunter on the other
side of the field when he gets the ball, and
your technique against him as a receiver in space is
more up the seed.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Charlie, in your opinion, what does this game on Sunday
come down to at the end, should I be a.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
Broken record and say the turnover battlegame because I feel
like it is my least favorite football clichday. But but
there really is.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
Something to that.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
What the defense did forcing turnovers to make up for
its limitations in Cleveland was the difference. And that's gonna
have to be this defensive identity because they still have
one on one matchups that you're not too confident. And
yet you also of course want to see Burrow in
the passing game, just be able, not that they they
were tense in week one, just be able to take
(15:00):
a deep breath, just get going. Like I remember the
Bengals deep passing game struggled in twenty twenty two, and
then Burrow hit the deep ball the boyd against against
the Jets, and it's like, all right, here we go,
We're rolling now. I think a moment like that's always valuable.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Charlie, you are the best man. Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Extremely busy time with the Reds coming down the stretch
and the Bengals getting started.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
We appreciate your time. As always. What's the easiest way
to follow along with everything you got going on?
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Curley Chalkport on Substacking on Fox nineteen. We got power
Stacks Pop, we got the Growler. This is a fun
time of year and it's glad to be going.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
I love it. Thanks Charlie, Thanks so much.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
Man.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
We'll talk next week.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
See you guys.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
That is Charlie Goldsmith. This is the Friday football Frenzy
thanks to Cincy Shirts. On ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
We got talkbacks and we got to give away a
Cincy Churts gift cards still in this hour, and we
still got to check in with Mo a couple times
at rally house.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
A lot to get to.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Not enough time on the SPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
Speaker 6 (15:59):
It's a big.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Yes talkbacks coming up in just a moment. We'll give
away a since he starts gift card at the end
of talkbacks. But before that, let's check in across the street.
MO has been perusing the rally house right here in
ken Wood seeing what he can find.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
What's going on, you.
Speaker 7 (16:44):
Know, hanging at a rally house, and we're at the
Kenwood Store on Montgomery Road, and we're having a blast.
I as a general rule in life, I mind my
own business.
Speaker 8 (16:55):
Like I don't.
Speaker 7 (16:55):
I don't stick my nose in other people's problems. I'm
not a nosy person. But you know, we're here in
the front of Lley House and people are coming in
by the dozen. In fact, if you see the cop
out there on Montgomery Road directing traffic, that's why. Because
we're here. This couple literally just walked in and man
and woman I assume married or at least together, and
the woman said to the guy, I want to get
(17:17):
a jersey of what's his name, and.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Don't make that for you.
Speaker 7 (17:22):
I don't know what number what's his name wears, but
don't put like, let's say it's number nine, number nine,
what's his name?
Speaker 4 (17:29):
Orange?
Speaker 7 (17:30):
You need orange? You need orange for Sunday's game. Have
you ever gone to a game where it's like, hey,
everybody's gonna wear orange or white or black, and you
wear like the wrong color. You're an absolute social leper.
You cannot do that. So come to Rally House and
it it'd be great if you got here by two o'clock.
By the way, we had and I had an extra
(17:52):
gift card. We had two folks who heard me mention
what you got to do to swing by Rally House
on your show and they came and claim their gift card.
Both offered lunch. Wow, and I said, I can't do it.
One guy like he said, I don't have time to
go get you lunch, but you can eat my lunch.
And he had like a lunch A ball what a guy? Yeah,
And I'm like, dude, we're it's the thought to count.
So they get gift cards, so they're good to go.
(18:13):
But stock up all your Bengals game day gear. By
the way, did you guys know there are twelve local
Rally House locations largest selection of officially licensed Cincinnati Bengals gear.
And by the way, because I know they sponsored this
hour of your show, a proud proud carrier of since
the items too at rally House and Kenwood.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Have you ran into anyone yet or met anyone that's
not only looking for Bengals gear but maybe some Cincinnati gear.
Has anyone come in that's maybe doing the double dip
this weekend home game for the Bearcats home game for
the Bengals.
Speaker 7 (18:47):
I haven't seen anybody who is doing both but the
Bearcat the Bearcat section there's a jump actually, Alex Meecham
this year by buying bear Cat here. That's actually a
thing that's happening. There's another couple perusing the it's an
awesome selection of U S gear year. They have UC
(19:09):
footed pajamas. I don't know that you want to wear
those to the game tomorrow, but later in the you know,
later on in the year might be might be perfect
for you.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Awesome. Tell meach we said hey, and we'll check in
again here shortly. Most definitely thanks me.
Speaker 5 (19:25):
That'sger Mogar in the house, Mowen meach O talkbacks.
Speaker 9 (19:30):
All right, Happy Friday boys. Sorry for the weird talkback hour.
I work weird hours, but I'm at home rewatching this
Packer and the Commander game and and right off the
page man the Tucker Craft, which obviously I've seen him before,
but dude, he's jumping off like this.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
Dude is a freak.
Speaker 9 (19:46):
I mean, Tony, you would know better than anybody with
the whole Travis Kelsey thing.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
But dude, he's like the second coming. I think. I
don't know.
Speaker 9 (19:54):
I mean, I guess you got to stay healthy, but
what are your thoughts like he's nuts.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Yeah, there are, I don't know if it's kind of
what Gronk and Kelsey ushered in. But I feel like
there's more like athletic freakish tight ends in the NFL
now than there's ever been.
Speaker 10 (20:13):
Banned.
Speaker 9 (20:14):
The ringleaders of Sincy three sixty have been banned from
gav P Durty playoffs.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Man, you really done it this time. Don't worry about it.
They just smuggled in when they get back in the playoffs.
But you guys got to get back on this bandwagon
at some point. Come on now, if we come in your.
Speaker 11 (20:33):
Half game, there is blood in the water. I don't
know if there's enough sharks on this team, but there's
definitely blood in the Water's a good point.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
There's blood in the water. To be fair, I don't sharks.
Anybody is going to be a great American ballpark during
the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
Do we have sharks? Oh? Jeff Henry.
Speaker 12 (20:52):
Happy football frenzy working out here on the ridge.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
So I thought I should have talked back in the background, Jordan.
All you need is love. Shirted ball out last night Bengals.
Speaker 4 (21:03):
By seven on Sunday. Feel pretty good about it.
Speaker 12 (21:06):
Like I said, I think t will ball out too,
and that can bring my feller when he's out here.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
As I call her her in the head of out.
Speaker 5 (21:12):
Oh no, and a talk bank from all right.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Man, I saw keV was rocking his siny shirt on
the uh out on the ridge early this morning.
Speaker 11 (21:22):
Hey, bright and blessed Friday morning, Tony and Austin, my
wife from forty five years told me that my recent
talkbacks had been slightly snarky.
Speaker 13 (21:30):
So everyone's a winter weekend and by.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Monday there'll be peace in the valley.
Speaker 6 (21:36):
Well, wo be pee see the valley soldy, Oh.
Speaker 12 (21:48):
Good, love each other man, A man can sink, you
can just trip, Austin. I agree, tough matchup Sunday Jags
at Bengal, but let's get to two and zero Bengals
thirty Jags twenty nine. I want to conclude it's been
(22:09):
a sorrowful time in the country of the past two days.
May God bless America and people use good judgment going forward.
Have a blessed day.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
Well said, thank you, Look at you.
Speaker 14 (22:23):
I didn't realize how similar the Bengals are to the
Commanders both overrated.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Oh my god. For this season.
Speaker 14 (22:33):
I want to know if the international games that do
you do on Sunday mornings, if you think that should
be a Friday night thing, or do you think they'll
never do that because it interferes with high school Friday
night football.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
I don't think you're gonna do it because it interferes
with the scheduling and the rest in recovery time for
the players.
Speaker 5 (22:54):
Sports Broadcasting Act of nineteen sixty one prohibits the NFL
from doing Friday night broadcasts during a certain time in
the year, which is why the early season game. I
think prior to like the second week in September or something,
they're able to do it, but like they can't next
year for whatever reason because the way the schedule works out.
(23:16):
I wouldn't be surprised if they try to do that eventually.
Speaker 15 (23:22):
Hey guys, Jeff and your Rishmond. Happy Friday. I hope
you guys have a great weekend coming up. I'm gonna
go Bengals thirty five to twenty.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
Three on Sunday.
Speaker 15 (23:36):
My fantasy football was screwed last week, so we need
to get that back on track with Joe and Jamar,
so hopefully they're both have big days.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
You guys, take care of a great weekend. Thank you.
Speaker 16 (23:51):
Happy Friday fellas well. I'm going to give you my
score prediction for this Sunday between the Bengals and the Jaguars.
I think it's going to be close. I think the
offense will bounce back because they've got that w on
week one.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
They'll be more.
Speaker 16 (24:04):
Excited to stack them on top of each other. So
I'm gonna go Bengals twenty four JAG's twenty one.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
Okay, thank you, not a cover? What up?
Speaker 17 (24:14):
Boys?
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Lonnie from Saint louis fired up for.
Speaker 18 (24:17):
This weekend, driving him for the game on Sunday, Open
and orange tone. I'll see at the grail Point at
Sunday morning nine am.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Hooday, boys, let's go.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Love to hear that, lon love to hear that.
Speaker 19 (24:31):
Yeah, Rillyhouse doesn't include Xavier and their commercials, but to
be fair, they also don't include Florence y'all's or your
local eight year old girls soccer team. Wow, really it
makes sense.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
Wow. Oh that's a show again. They usually not till December.
We get those shots right there.
Speaker 20 (24:50):
Oh, I'm starting to worry about my astros. The Rangers,
Mariners hotter than Georgia asph alt. Come on, you can
be a free holy Negro. You can be a verdet Negro.
You can be a freeo Negro. But at the end
of the day, you're just an oe g U m me.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
I don't know what any of that means.
Speaker 21 (25:15):
TP fifteen Audie v MWG.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
There he is.
Speaker 21 (25:20):
Take him a morning coffee. I open up the MLB
app Matt's lose Yep, Fellas. The math got easier in
the last few days. Now we take care of business
this weekend against the Athletics. Never know what could happen.
Just consider this your daily dose of reds opium.
Speaker 4 (25:40):
Go red.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
Math is the math. Math is the math, wrap and
running here.
Speaker 22 (25:47):
The plan of the Bengals is to take the riot
angles how smart the jaguire a void a week two quiebar.
The balance before us is to stop Trevor Lawrence. The
beatdown will be thorough led by Higgins Chason Burrow to
show up in the Orange. Leave your other closing storage,
holler through your pipes, and cheer on the stripes. The
first in the jungle will not be your bungle. You
(26:07):
don't live in Jacksonville. You live in since the Actionville fool.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Okay, since the Actionville Okay, Ronnie.
Speaker 23 (26:16):
Every time the Reds go for it, they always lose.
It's over sticks out it's over, man, why even do it?
Come back with these Sinsey reds. Come back with these
Sensei reds. This is monster, this is huge. Come back
with these Sinsey reds. Where the heck is the wire?
Speaker 4 (26:37):
One and a half out?
Speaker 23 (26:38):
Yeah, let's make a run close strong, come back with
these Sensey reds.
Speaker 5 (26:44):
All right, since I don't know, okay, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
I just it's okay to be cocky. Right now.
Speaker 24 (26:51):
We're one to oh, we don't get that many opportunities
to be undefeated and going into a game crew O, yes,
get excited, say that we're gonna be the Jaguars thirty
to ten. Get drunk at your tailgate.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
These says.
Speaker 24 (27:04):
Have fun and enjoy the emotions of being confident.
Speaker 7 (27:07):
It's okay.
Speaker 24 (27:08):
And if they lose, it's fine.
Speaker 7 (27:10):
We'll just go to the Sable Bengals.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
That we always do.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
It's fine. Crap this country exp I said about the
rest yep, it did, it did, so we have Mark
the Florist. Yes, can we go ahead and call Mike
the mortician?
Speaker 4 (27:25):
It did?
Speaker 12 (27:26):
Is always negative and just killing our city team.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
Worry about La bud Dang Okeydang.
Speaker 8 (27:36):
Not a Xavier fan, but it should definitely go like
this Reds, Bengals, FC, Muskies, the EI State be Kats
in Kentucky.
Speaker 5 (27:44):
That's a good point. Wow, it's a really good point. Yep,
I don't hate that at all.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
It was good.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
I don't hate that at all. I might I might
add that to the hopper that was not gonna lie.
Speaker 23 (27:54):
I'm feeling a little bit queasy ever since I heard
Tony Pike and Mike in the La slobber all over
the Green.
Speaker 19 (28:00):
Bay Packers after only a two week sample size, they're
ready to crown them.
Speaker 24 (28:07):
I love you.
Speaker 17 (28:10):
Love.
Speaker 8 (28:11):
The Bengals are lucky they're not playing the Packers, Otherwise
they would be spaying too nonsense.
Speaker 19 (28:18):
If you're the Bengals, you fear no one.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Who day.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
It's got a good point. I mean, you're all over
Jordan love and then all of a sudden you love
the guy. After two weeks he was like nineteen to
thirty one yesterday, look good man.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
Congratulations to Ted Carris and Is.
Speaker 11 (28:35):
Since he had charity initiative, he should branch out to
other cities. He could have an Indie hat for Indianapolis.
He could have a Lexi hat for Lexington. He could
have a louis hat for Louisville and for Cleveland. He
could have a hat that says.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
That's pretty good.
Speaker 18 (28:55):
Yeah yeah, boys, I'm down here at this waffle house
and I can't find anywhere.
Speaker 13 (29:01):
I thought for sure I.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Could get me a gift card.
Speaker 13 (29:03):
Man, the megs and sausage is real good.
Speaker 18 (29:05):
Anyways, do you think that green Bay secondary is that good?
Or could Washington just not get any separation? I know
Washington they're not very deep at wide receiver spot, but man,
that green Bay defense I think is something to worry
about rather than their offense.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
I have a hard time believing Noah Brown and Deebo
Samuel and Terry McLaurin just can't get.
Speaker 17 (29:30):
Open, still flexing repping my city out here in sunny
hot and z on it.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
What up, Tony? What out body?
Speaker 20 (29:35):
Man?
Speaker 17 (29:35):
I did something I was supposed to do last night.
I watched baseball, watched the Mets game, and I caught
this fever call.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Hope they did it to him again?
Speaker 17 (29:43):
Reds Real Talk Tay two three, and we'll see what's happening.
The Chase interview yesterday. I feel you, Chase. We all say, Tea,
I already.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
Know what it is. I got one for you, buddy.
How about this?
Speaker 17 (29:53):
Every time he catched the ball, we all say, Chase
Yay's it's still Bengals thirty one twenty Bingles.
Speaker 10 (30:03):
And the Reds are hanging in there. They're technically still
hanging around. But forgive me if I refuse to get
sucked in. I've seen his story so many times, and
I just refuse to get sucked in and made a
full of for the seven eighty second time. Full of
That was a start on Sunday, all beating against a
terrible appearance. But they were still terrible on third down,
(30:25):
still terrible on fourth down. So I mean they're gonna
need to be much much better if they're gonna be
considered a real contender.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
I'm just gonna see how I can just play both
sides of the fence.
Speaker 5 (30:35):
Yeah, I mean, there are people that have made a long,
successful career out of doing that.
Speaker 23 (30:41):
Tony Austen in here, have you guys ever seen sack sandwich?
Speaker 18 (30:47):
I want to see the Bengals get a sack.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
Sandwich on Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 18 (30:51):
Turn that guy into a true Eastern Island statue.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
He does low key look like for those you hey boys,
I just want to give you my prediction for this weekend.
Uh I predict Reds win for to one threek two
six four.
Speaker 25 (31:12):
Okay, all right, Austin, Tony Ryan, how you guys today?
Speaker 4 (31:17):
Man?
Speaker 25 (31:18):
Sounds beautiful. I'm excited for this Reds three game series.
We'll do well. We'll do well one game at a time,
uh Sjamar Stewart gets his first sack Sunday twenty six
to twenty Bengals, who go rights.
Speaker 5 (31:33):
Twenty six twenty Bengals. Okay, might be a score of
GOMMI I would imagine.
Speaker 26 (31:39):
Not Jordan Love. I do not believe the hype. He's
a modern day Andy Dalton. He's gonna put up some
ok stats. He might make the playoffs, but he's gonna
lose once he gets there to the teams with real quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
Okay, modern day Andy Dalton?
Speaker 5 (31:56):
Can you be about to say that he's still in
the league? Oh goodness, ye zuey. All right, we're done.
I got four saved here.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
All right? We do those when we get back.
Speaker 2 (32:09):

Here are the ones I have saved ay Tony and Austin,
Jim from Ross and Zach's gotta see that the d
personnel groups before he calls the play and leaves show
little to no time to switch the plays or the
protections to misuse of millionaires yesterday when is in law.
That's when the Browns kicker can't spell Schmidt. He can't
kick with Schmidt and the game like his name doesn't
(33:36):
end in FG.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
If I've crossed.
Speaker 13 (33:38):
Legal boundaries, called the officers of YO c Vash Higgins
in Chase, but doing on a weekday. They're not open
on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
Dang. That was great.
Speaker 11 (33:49):
With the main concern being Jacksonville's Travis Ntn. It could
be a big get day for linebackers for the Bengals,
including Grin and Barrett, Carter, soren or In Burks, Demetrious Knight,
and the Pips and Logan Hello, mister Wilson Bengals thirty
(34:12):
to twenty.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
Okay, that's good. That's good. Also, that's very good. Congratulations
to Ted Carris and Is.
Speaker 11 (34:19):
Since he had charity initiative, he should branch out to
other cities. He could have an Indie hat for Indianapolis.
He could have a Lexi hat for Lexington. He could
have a louis hat for Louisville.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
And for Cleveland.
Speaker 11 (34:31):
He could have a hat that says.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
I think that was the same guy back guy. That's
tough to be.
Speaker 8 (34:40):
Yeah, not a Xavier fan, but it should definitely go
like this, Red's Bengals FC Muskies ther State Berkats.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
In Kentucky's FC Muskies.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
Makes sense. That's good, makes sense. That's a good jingle.
And if it was by itself, I'd say probably the
winner as the first one. But the fact that I
did sound like the same guy didn't with in the middle.
Speaker 5 (35:02):
We had our guy with two in a row. There,
that's the winner, and so he will be getting a
Sensy Shirts gift. Shout out unbelievable. Let me see if
I can see if I can find his name here.
He didn't have a name listed. I got his email address, though,
so I'm gonna send him an email. Be on the lookout, partner.
(35:22):
Congratulations to you on the lookout for an email.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Unnamed one. Yeah, guy one whose name we don't speak of.
That's a Harry Potter reference, because I think that means Baltimore,
if I'm not mistaken. Let's break. Do they have like
their own language Harry Potter?
Speaker 8 (35:39):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (35:40):
I don't think so? Okay, I think that's English.
Speaker 5 (35:43):
No, but like is there's like there's certain words and
stuff that they say.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
Yeah, sometimes they speak in tongue. I don't know. What
that is? What do we have? I know we got
to talk to Moe again. What else do we have?
Speaker 5 (35:58):
We've also we got football in the Natty. We'll talk
briefly to Mo during that. This will be our last
conversation with Mo. I think we should ask him. So
Mo has to go down the hall today to work
on a different radio show. Yeah, and so he's going
to be here, which is very rare on a Friday.
(36:22):
Should we ask him, even though he's already been on
the show three times and about to be on the
show for a fourth time, should we ask him if
he wants to join us for quick hits.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
I'm sure he'd be all in for that. We'll ask
him that.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
When we get back, we'll finish up our two hour
three Tom Gallada FC Cincinnati with Guy and we've got
to pick him, pick him a sheet that we've got
to make some college, high school and NFL picks. All
of that's still ahead since he three sixty Friday Football
Friends on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports.
Speaker 27 (36:50):
This is Football in the Natty, brought you and hard
by bod Light and by Oakley Greens on ESPN fifteen third,
the official home of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Speaker 2 (37:02):
Let's go Friday football, Frenzy football in the Natti. As
we wind down our number two, Tom Gallater will join
us to kick off our number three. But that's not
the only guest we've got. We've got to talk to,
because we're doing one final check in, yeah, with our
guy right across the road from us, right now the
Kenwood location, not the Kenwood Mall, not the town Center
(37:24):
because there is a rally house in there, but right
across the street from our studio on Kenwood Road is
Rally House and Moe has been at rally House since
noon and he's had a lot of fun with it.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
What's up, Mell?
Speaker 7 (37:36):
This has been an awesome experience. You know, Tom Goletder
is going to join you. If you're an FC Cincinnati
fan and you're going to that game tomorrow they take
on Nashville, Well they've got FC Cincinnati gear more than
anybody in town, and so you can load up on that.
You could get an orange FC Cincinnati shirt and then
try to pass that off as your orange Bengal shirt on.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
You're a double dip.
Speaker 7 (37:58):
You could double dip if you're a Bengals fan and
you're going to the game, or you're just like, you
know what, I need a new shirt or hat for
the season.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
I want a new.
Speaker 7 (38:06):
Jersey for the season. You name the player, you can
get it. You can get it here at Rally House.
Or if you're thinking, you know, I want to develop
this like online persona where all I do is tweet
about the Bengals and how great they are and dress like,
you know, a Bengals super fan every day. You could
do that here too, because you name it. When it
(38:29):
comes to the Bengals, they have it. But really, for
this Sunday, you need the orange and they have all
the orange gear that you could ever ask for. Also,
I am actually standing in the Cincinnati Cyclones corner. Years
ago Austin Elmore dropped the first pocket the Cyclones game,
and all we asked for were a couple of Cyclones
hats and they told us no, Well, they have Cyclones
(38:50):
hats here. So maybe the next time Austin drops the
pocket of Cyclones game, he and I can wear hats
instead of asking the Cyclones for hats that they won't
give us. Did you name it that pick the team
here in the Greater Cincinnati region, They've got it here
at rally House. Sideline gear, orange black white jerseys, cold
(39:11):
weather gear for when it, you know, gets cold, you
name it, They've got it here at rally House. We
are at the Montgomery Road location here in Kenwood for
another few minutes. We cannot thank the staff here enough
for having it's It's been unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
You mentioned sideline gear, anything Bearcat related that I maybe
should pick up to wear on the sidelines tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (39:28):
Oh, oh, Tony you I mean, I'll tell you what it's.
They've got warm weather gear. They've got some polo shirts
here that I think are like the coolest U see
polo shirts I've ever seen. You know, I like lightweight hoodies.
Speaker 4 (39:41):
They've got some some Nike.
Speaker 7 (39:43):
Lightweight hoodies that'll be perfect like when you have that
fall day on the sideline.
Speaker 4 (39:47):
I'm standing in.
Speaker 7 (39:48):
Front of it right now, Like gray uc Nike pullover,
has you written all over it? Perfect on the sideline.
I mean it's if you're a Bearcat fan and you
need something that says, hey, I'm a Bearcat fan. You
got to come to rally House.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
Lastly, have you been spending the time in between these conversations,
have you just been kind of perusing through the different
team sections. Have you been spent more time talking to folks?
What have you been doing to fill the last couple
of hours?
Speaker 7 (40:18):
Well, a little bit of everything. You know, we've given
away some gift cards to folks. Who are you know,
listening to you guys. You know, I've I've actually kind
of been helping the staff here out. I did help
this woman, younger girl came by and she was looking
for an item from one of the higher racks, and
I went and got the poll and pulled it down
for Yes, if I'm here, I might as well help,
(40:41):
might as well do some work. But yeah, it's it's
been I've I've been sort of putting together a wish
list because you know, my birthday's coming up and the
we got Christmas. A little bit of a wish list
for you know, for me if if folks are like,
hey man, what what can we get you for either
of those occasions. I've put it together here at Rally House.
Speaker 3 (41:01):
Very nice. It's been great talking to you.
Speaker 7 (41:03):
Now.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
I understand you're going to be on the air down
the hallway in just over an hour, Is that true?
Speaker 7 (41:08):
Yeah, I'm joining Eddy Fingers and Jason Williams and we're
a football frenzy. In the middle of football frenzy. We
got a guy from the Trans Shiberian Orchestra on with it.
Were you so?
Speaker 2 (41:21):
Were you playing on? Just swinging by for quick hits
today too? While you're here, you might as well I can. Yeah,
we're back, Okay, we'll talk to you. Get in an
hour then seeing about an hour moment.
Speaker 7 (41:32):
I can't wait. I see you guys.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
Thanks. I love this. It's so funny. Grand Canyon Mule,
nothing like it. Yep.
Speaker 5 (41:41):
Can I tell you a player I'm worried about, please,
Brenton Strange. Oh yeah, tight end yep. Jacksonville Jagle my
fantasy team. He's six foot four, two hundred and fifty
three pounds. This is his third year in the National
Football League. He's from Penn State. I was watching some
Jags tape. This dude not only recorded four catches for
(42:06):
fifty nine yards against the Panthers, but he brought the
boom in the run game blocking inside zone split where
that tight end comes across the formation on a defensive end,
put buddy into ground. Give me one through four. This
dude is going to have an impact in the game.
Bengals always seem to struggle with tight ends. I'm worried
about Brenton Strange most concerning to least concerning. If I
(42:27):
give you Travis Hunter, Brian Thomas, Travis ETN or Brenton Strange,
it would be Brian Thomas, and then it would be
Travis Hunter, and then it would be the ETN fella
and then it would be Brenton Strange.
Speaker 7 (42:40):
OK.
Speaker 5 (42:42):
I'm telling you the Bengals know about those other three guys.
I hope they know about number eighty five for Jacksonville.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
I think I said earlier in the week, I was,
you know, kind of mid fantasy football draft and the
top tight ends are taken and I'm looking around, like, okay,
where and who is someone that I can get? And
that was one of the names that literally came up
on like every draft experts late round steal at tight
(43:10):
end because of his usage rate, because of the relationship
with Trevor Lawrence. I believe he was their leading receiver
against the Panthers. That might be correct. Yeah, Okay, something
to watch for. Something to watch for. Coming up in
the third and final hour of this program, The Friday
Football Frenzy. Tom Gallaerda will join us there is a massive,
(43:32):
massive match at Tiquo Stadium tomorrow night with Nashville coming
into town. We also got to ask Tommy what happened
on Sunday with his Cleveland Browns. Probably a little bittersweet
for Tommy watching that thing unfold. After that, I've got
high school, I've got college, I've got NFL games. We're
gonna pick him and according to what we just learned
(43:52):
from Mo, we'll talk to Mo for quick hits. All
of that's still ahead on a Friday football Frenzy, esp
fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station. Thanks to Cinci shirts.
Speaker 27 (44:03):
You've been listening to Football in the NATI on ESPN
fifteen thirty, the official home of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Speaker 3 (44:14):
When your commercial prop
