Speaker 4 (00:37):
Thank you?
Speaker 5 (00:38):
We got hag Yeah right, hell all the stars over talk.
Speaker 6 (00:45):
Back show.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Rads, wild rads.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Well, all right, let's do it. Let's go.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
We gotta go a little nervous this when came at
four ten am.
Speaker 7 (01:00):
My first talk back ever on behalf of my family. Tony,
I'd like to say congratulations on UC Hall of Fame.
Thank you, We sure are proud of you, and also
like to congratulator Landu Brown, who won up Samore Stewart's
hit on our Hopes and dreams Joe Burrow with a
beautiful strip Sack he did his in a real game.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Okay, thank you, Tony Austin.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
Hey, it's near production here, Hey, Neir, I'm still hanging
out with d ej Man. Loved our performance last night.
Our disruptiveness was on full display. Yep, who needs Trey
Hendrickson and Sacks? Who needs production? When you got near production.
Speaker 8 (01:46):
Man, we disrupt Joe Burrow got the old live some
nice swords for a president about a year ago. With
quite evanen on the field, they're not willing to follow
their sword for Joe Burrow. I mean I was three
man standing around and watch your QB get horse collar
to the ground and not do nothing about it.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
I mean, not even to get angry.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
I guess you want to get upset when Joe gets
hitting practice.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Tough to get angry when you're the one that needs
to be angry. You're the one who deserves the anger
directed to him.
Speaker 9 (02:16):
But you can take them when you have Hayes de
la Cruz plain to steer on that infield. They're not perfect,
but man, they're exciting to watch. One of the most
fun defensive outfits I've ever seen out there. And speaking
the defense guys, I got bad news for you, Al Golden.
As a Hurricane fan, I vividly remember twenty twelve. This
guy gave up three hundred yards on the ground to
case day, four hundred on the ground to note to
(02:37):
day with no adjustments. This guy's not gonna be able
to stop the run. I've seen this movie before. This
ain't going to end. Well, he's not a DC.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
I don't want to even think y'all's begging and just
take a second look at this receiving corps today, where
they're at compared to a year ago, and tell me
this is not scary as hell. We've got Chase and
t locked that long term now contractor settled, they can
play freely. We've got a bigger Yoshi making plays over
the middle. We've got a healthy and looks like he's
(03:09):
a stronger Charlie Jones. We've got go, go gadget Timsley
out there making ridiculous plays and hopefully a sane Germaine.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Yeah, I think they're ridiculous. They are ridiculous at receiver. Unfortunately,
none of those players can play on the defensive side
of the ball as of today.
Speaker 10 (03:28):
It's the lord, just an observation.
Speaker 11 (03:31):
The backups look better than the starters.
Speaker 12 (03:34):
Gotta help us all.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
It's good health season.
Speaker 13 (03:37):
If that's going to be the case, Come on, Bengals,
let's get this fixed.
Speaker 6 (03:42):
Okay, thank you, Frog, buc Helps Traffic Center has played.
Experts are on standby for those Cincinnati fans who constantly
pull their hair out. Expect another three to five year
delay to get to the World Series. For the where
else are you gonna go? As far as the Bengals
(04:04):
are conferred, it's all systems go to Joe Burrow's pocket,
as well as for the other teams offense. I'm Eddie
Villig with traffic.
Speaker 14 (04:14):
Eddie thinks you nailed it, Greg Sharonville another gut punch
loss when this team can only score one run. I
know Hayes is a great defensive player. I'll tell you
the facts are, he's a nine hole hitter that can't
hit and he's no health to this team offensive.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
When was that from they won last They scored four
last night?
Speaker 2 (04:40):
He tripled last night.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Dang Greg, Greg's in the wrong box score.
Speaker 15 (04:45):
Hey guys, Stagy from Chicago regarding the game last night
the Bengals, Zach Taylor needs to step in and protect
Joe Burrow. Joe cannot be running around like he's trying
to make a play in a preseason game.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
That's just.
Speaker 15 (05:04):
Flirting with disaster. Got to step in and take the
ball away from Joe, take his helmet away and say
you can't play like.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
That in free season games.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Maybe Joe just wanted to give some teaching to the
offensive line that when he scrambles, you're actually supposed to
continue to block players. Interesting, that's a teaching moment now, Tony.
People are starting to talk.
Speaker 14 (05:29):
You're saying you can't do a show by yourself, got
to have a co host.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
What do you say to that.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
I just do what I'm told I do these shows
I'm asked to do with whomever I'm asked to do
them with.
Speaker 16 (05:43):
One or two things that's going on with the same
Bengals defense. One the coaches are telling the players to
play so vanilla that they're not giving any tape to
regular season teams. Or two they are that's slow and
they are that bad and they're missing assignments. I was
(06:06):
physically ill in my stomach to watch that first quarter
last night.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
Thank you, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Only shirs.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
And on Joe's scramble when he got sat there to
a gold line last night, why didn't the players try
to help him by trying to block those people on
when he was scrambling, They just stood around looking. I
don't get it, Well, we're in trouble for the defense.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
It was pitiful, Thank you.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
It seemed like they were just watching it all.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Question. It's a great question, brother, I wish I had
an answer.
Speaker 16 (06:48):
It's a double dip, deal with it. Could you imagine
if it pans out that the Reds actually become a
wild card team and the Bengals go eight and and
missed the playoffs?
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Don't do that?
Speaker 16 (07:03):
Boy, that would be good radio. But I don't know
if I am not looking forward to this regular season
with the Bengals. I just got an eerie feeling it's
going to be exactly like last year.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
Yeah, I don't know how much good radio that would make,
to be honest, Yeah, I agree, but I hope the
Reds make the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
That would be cool. I would like it if the
Reds made the playoffs.
Speaker 10 (07:27):
Yeah, how about that first series for Jordan Battle last night?
Speaker 13 (07:32):
Whiffs on the debo, end around, whiffs on the second run.
Speaker 7 (07:36):
Then on Daniel's.
Speaker 17 (07:37):
Touchdown run, he has the absolute chance to light him
up and just gives him a little tug around the tummy.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Not sure what was going on there, but I was
about ready to run down on the.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Field last night. Yeah, there's a screen shot.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
You probably could have picked up a first down against
the Bengals.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
I guarantee we line up in that power you lead
me through there, I'm getting the first down easy. There
was a screen shot that Paul Danner Junior tweeted out
of like Jade and Daniels on the ten yard line
and three Bengal defenders not on blocks anywhere around him
and he scored while standing up.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
It did seem like they were trying to not hurt him.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
That's what we want.
Speaker 8 (08:15):
I don't understand the media obsession this year with needing
the fast start. If they go to and oh, that'd
be great, but fails of the season oh and two,
the media is gonna say the season's over. But does
it matter if they start the season oh to two
and win the next two and are at five hundred
versus starting the season two and oh and dropping the
next two and being five hundred first four. To me,
they feel the same no matter how you get there. No,
(08:37):
because I know my favorite Bengal ever, John Kidnaugh.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
Bingle, because it feels like to me, if when they
start slow, then you are just constantly chasing the playoffs.
You never give yourself a chance to be like, hey,
we're in we're in line for the one seed, we're
in line for competing, we're in line for playoff seeding.
It feels like you're always chasing from the start, and
it puts so much pressure, more pressure on every single
game you play after that.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
And also when you play fast from the beginning of
the season, you put pressure on the other teams in
the AFC as well. You put pressure on Kansas City,
on Buffalo, on Baltimore and others. And on top of that,
you know, those games oftentimes have been games that the
Bengals should have won and they didn't, and that can
be the difference like it was in twenty twenty three
(09:20):
and last year in not getting a playoff spot being
double dip. Here, has Mitchell Tinsley moved ahead of Jermaine Burton. Now, No,
not yet.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
No, I don't think you're just got to be out there.
Speaker 11 (09:36):
Maybe it's not fair to single out just one player,
but I'm going to do it anyway. Joe Burrow is
putting his life on the line every single play out
there last night, and you can't tackle Veric quarterback at
the goal line, Jordan Battle. If Ronnie Lott was your teammate,
you would not be breathing right now. There are a
(09:57):
dozen other guys on this team behind you playing harder.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
Come on, man, and Ronnie Lott.
Speaker 10 (10:03):
Do you love the two drama queens? Remember Jim Breach,
the kicker for the Vangs.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Yeah, you're automatic.
Speaker 10 (10:11):
From forty yards and beyond forty anyway, do you know
what Jim Breech's middle name is? Security, Austin, I was
following along with your game updates last night on Truth
Social Reproof, so them I agree with you. Jermaine Bergen
looked good and it's time to move on from algol.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Man.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
That is fake news right there.
Speaker 13 (10:38):
God he Austin. I have an Ohio high school football
team for you to reform about, Taft High School.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
Tell me about that.
Speaker 13 (10:47):
We're already a bunch of miserable sports fans around here.
Why not root for the eighty seventh ranked high school
football team in the state of Ohio. Don't give yourself
the pleasure of rooting for Molder or any of those
top programs. Just misery loves company many miserable. That's what
we do here, all right?
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Interesting? Are you so interesting? I mean that's not exactly
what I had in mind. Uh, I don't I want
to get some sort of joy out of it?
Speaker 4 (11:15):
Right?
Speaker 18 (11:17):
You guys need to quit being cry babies. Holy crap.
Damned if they do, damned if they don't. Burrows a competitor.
It's getting him ready for the season.
Speaker 13 (11:28):
Yeah he had.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
All right, he's knocked out day one. The season's over
on day one.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Let's see here see what.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
Collee im dono.
Speaker 7 (11:45):
Good afternoon, gentlemen.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
I think last year, end of the season, when you
get Frank Pollack out of here, get Frank Pollack out
of here.
Speaker 14 (11:53):
I remember asking you guys, they all does line new
Linga was pretty bad?
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Is because that personnel worse and aren't person and when
that coach comes here, our personnel is going to be better.
And I got a definite our personnel is better.
Speaker 11 (12:07):
I don't know is our.
Speaker 6 (12:08):
Personnel man is the coach not that good? Or do
we need a new Blonkings game?
Speaker 4 (12:14):
I don't know, but they clearly thought the personnel was
good enough with new coaching, and I don't know if
that's the case. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Joe from Casey here.
Speaker 19 (12:21):
Hey, what concerns me about the defense is, you know,
when's the last time we saw a d lineman just
beat the man across from him to make a play,
whether it's a sack or a you know, tackle, at
the line of scrimmage, just anything. Sometimes you just got
to beat the man and make a play and we
just don't.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
Yeah, they okay, Yeah, win the one on one battle.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
He's correct.
Speaker 17 (12:48):
Watching last night's game, obviously, the defense got blasted early
but played pretty well late. And there was a little
bit of discussion on the radio about the Bengals struggling
with mobile quarterbacks even last year. Jalen hurts Jayden Daniels,
Lamar Jackson games that we lost even though our offense
played really good, and find trying to find a way
to help to neutralize the mobility of some of these quarterbacks.
(13:11):
We have difficulties with any thoughts on how we can
maybe address that problem.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
Yeah, I think it's hard to say the defense played
better as a game went on, because that was a
different unit out there, and I don't think they wanted
to use Jaydan Daniels if they gave him one run
last night. They've always struggled against Lamar Jackson, They've struggled
obviously against Jayden Daniels. There could be something to that,
but the answer to that would be to get more athletic.
(13:35):
What I've seen so far does not look like an
athletic Fast Front seven.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
Yeah, you would kind of hope that Demetrius Knight or
Barrett Carter or somebody would have emerged during camp to
be like, Okay, this is a guy that we can
use in a lot of different roles. Yeah, it's the
guy that we could use to spy a Jayden Daniels
or Lamar Jackson, or maybe to rush or blitz. I
feel like we haven't seen a lot of blitzes. Maybe
I'm wrong on that.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Barrett Carter made last night where he showed Tampa two
and then put his foot in the ground and intercepted
that pass. Was a great play. Terrible pass from Sam Hartman,
but he would look he looked that looked like an athlete. Yeah,
against the run.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Yeah, It's just it's hard to tell exactly what the
plan might be for that because it has been so vanilla,
and I don't know that they really would have showed
much that they might use against Lamar Jackson last night
against Jayden and Daniels. But hopefully that's the part of
learning the personnel that you have and what they do
well and then maximizing it. That's but part of the
whole challenge for al Gold.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
I'm left asking today, are we sure Logan Wilson and
Demetrius Knight should be the two starting linebacker.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
It's a great question.
Speaker 12 (14:43):
I think we got the answer to the question about
the Reds scoring runs in an inning or three and
out by the Bengals defense. No simple concept. Everybody played bad.
And I've truly listened to more Queen Latifa than Queen
so Oh. I'd say, Queen Latifa, huh oh, I really
missed your wife, Tony. Let it resonate with Renee. You
(15:05):
need to bring that back.
Speaker 4 (15:07):
Mo out all right, mo, I'll see what I can do.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Let it resonate with Renee.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Man, come on, when is this Big three gonna be
over with? I am so tired of these damn commercials.
Speaker 18 (15:19):
And I also never thought i'd utter the words man,
we could really use Tino Stone.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
See yes, I think a time last night I thought
maybe we could really use your main Prat good.
Speaker 20 (15:29):
Point, folks, stop reacting to the preseason game. The Washington
offense did a lot of schemes on those runt and plays.
They did a lot of stunts, They did a lot
of creative blocks, and guess what they had like nine
people at the line the Bengals were not doing anything schematically.
The Bengals were playing sure man coverage for the most part,
(15:51):
and when the run actually happened, it was nine Washington
commanders versus like five or six Bengals. Guess who's gonna
win every freaking time?
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Austin probably the other team that has more players. We're
out of time. We have a bunche that we didn't
get to.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
Oh, I love the day after Bengals games. Out of time,
I love the day after games. Injury report coming back
and uh man. Joe Goodberry knocks it out with his analysis.
See can't wait to hear from Joe, and maybe we'll
ask him what we just heard from Johnny. Yeah, maybe
that was the case. We're just not showing anything that
