the office before getting to a long weekend. That is
what Austin and I are doing. We're both out tomorrow
to celebrate the fourth of July. Here it is, here,
(00:40):
it is Come on now.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
A yeah, oh yeah, truck, thank you?
Speaker 4 (00:57):
Yep, Nope, definitely not. Yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Let's have ourselves a Thursday, which seemingly should be a Friday.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Thanks to Skyline Chilly.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Thank you for listening on ESPN fifteen thirty. Listening via
the iHeartRadio app. Leave it's a talkback. You can win
a talk about gift card thanks to Cinti Shirts Hour two.
We're just happy to have you along. However, you're taking
this in today, we hope you enjoy the next three hours. Yeah,
(01:38):
we don't have one foot out the door here. We're
all in until three o'clock on cinty three sixty. We've
got a lot to get to. Can I, Austin, Can
I just share some behind the scenes of what just
happened in the last ten minutes?
Speaker 4 (01:50):
Yeah, let's do it. So let's make fun of this. Yeah.
So what I do is I like? By the way,
the vibe in this office today has been awesome. Electric again,
trying to run out the clock, pick up a couple
of first downs. Yep, get out of here for the
fourth of July weekend. ViBe's been great. But what happened
to you?
Speaker 2 (02:10):
So there's not a show at this station that that
happens before Cincy three to sixty comes on air.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
Correct.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
So normally I do my pre show work in here
in studio, and so I will read different articles online,
I'll pull different stuff up.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
When you have a mouse that doesn't take home.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Doesn't take home. And what I normally do, Austin, is
I have probably eight to twelve different tabs pulled up, sure,
just to say, Okay, here's what I'm gonna go to.
These are the topics that I wrote down and they
can go into a little more detail there. And every
day I do this, and today we had an IT
guy and I'm not going to name names. He's one
(02:50):
of the only IT guys that you'll see in this building.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
He is by he's more than an IT guy. Yeah,
he is the very very very very best in the business.
And he's the heartbeat of what we're doing here. He honestly,
god is I love him to death, so you better
not say anything bad about it. He came in, let's
call it eleven forty eight, okay, give or take a
minute or so, and he says, hey, I need that
(03:14):
computer for about ten minutes. Oh okay, I kind of
got everything pulled up. I said, what do you need?
He said, well, Moe needs me to fix the video
component for him. I need to log into his account
and fix the video settings. Like okay, uh sure. I
(03:35):
was like, do you know? I said, are you going
to be done by noon? Because that's when?
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Since he three sixty, he said, I didn't know that,
and I assumed.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
I assumed like he was just joking with me. He
had to be.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
But on the desk in here we talked for like
another thirty seconds watching some tennis back and forth, and
I get up to walk out so that he can
have the room, and he's like, hey, you let your
wallet and your keys, and I'm like, yeah, I know
(04:07):
the show starts at noon, and he was like, well,
I didn't know if you were leaving.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
So I'm like, he's got to be messing with me,
he asked me.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
But I literally I came in here at like eleven
fifty eight and he's sitting here explaining what he just
worked on with MO.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Yeah, like what we're doing. So now as.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
We're talking, I'm trying to pull up all the tabs
that are now gone because I had to.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Log in again. Well, why'd you sign out? I didn't
he signed me out? Well, you should have just pressed
the switch user.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
No, I was signed out of my account. You should
have used this office to you.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
You should have pressed switch user so that your stuff
would have stayed up. Yeah, and then well here we are.
That's funny. So he listens to this show almost every day,
so he knows. Yeah, he knows that it starts at
new Yeah. You and I kind of have this thing
where we kind of feel like the forgotten about show. Sure,
(05:08):
that's why we had a hostile takeover to get a throw. Yeah,
we kind of feel looked over, and there are often
things that will happen to us that make us feel
like an afterthought. I think that's fair to say that
that happens a lot. So I bet he knows that,
and I bet he was just doing that, yeah, to
(05:28):
get under your skin.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
I mean I got in today, so like and all
the work I had pulled up is gone. Yeah, so
let's just wing it. I think you should do what
I do and just use a laptop.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
Yeah I can, but the computer's right here.
Speaker 5 (05:47):
You know you can.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
You could probably request and I would assume be approved
for a company laptop. Yeah, I mean that. I mean
that's a that's a big step.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
They gave me one. That's a big step though, which
is cool. But I at least wrote some stuff down
on this piece of paper. Luckily that one thrown out
or anything. And if that's not enough, we're treating treating
today like a Friday, and that means we get Charlie
Goldsmith at one o'clock, we get Tom Gallerer at two o'clock.
There's some significant unfortunate FC Cincinnati injury news that we've
(06:19):
got to get to uh. This afternoon, Charlie will break
things down from a Reds and Bengals standpoint. But normally
on Thursdays or Fridays, we get with our guy, Bob
Manjean from UC and Novacare. And I sent Bob a
message last night Austin, I said, tomorrow question mark. Oh,
never heard from him?
Speaker 6 (06:36):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Today, I said, Robert dot dot dot, and then I said, Bob,
are you in?
Speaker 2 (06:43):
And at eleven fifty eight A lot of stuff happened
two minutes before the show today, he said, Tony, I'm
on a mountain in Kentucky.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
Sorry, dude. Oh. He hit me with the dude.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
And then proceeded to send a message a picture of
him and his lovely wife on a hike. Nice And
I say, Bs, you drove to meet her, she hiked.
You just got out of the car, to which he said, Bs,
it's a mile uphill.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
We just did it. Uh. So we're not going to
have man gene today who has a higher heart rate
right after a one mile uphill hike, Bob man Jean
at his age or Tony Pike at your age. My
money is on Pike with the higher heart rate, probably
probably because I would run up the hill. Oh okay,
(07:31):
I wouldn't walk it. I went for a run yesterday. Nice. Yeah,
the humidity was down. It was nice to do. It
was lovely outside, it really was. I'm trying to I've
always said, I've always told my friends, I'm going to
be a runner one day. Okay, I'm going to be
one of those people who eventually falls in love with running. Yeah,
and so I think I'm beginning that process now. I'm
running to me is all about the music you listening to.
(07:52):
You probably got wireless headphones in, which means, yeah, something's
happening in your brain already.
Speaker 6 (07:56):
Right.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
Well, I'm overweight and I got these like kind of
weird knees, so it gets it's a painful experience, n Smith,
I don't. Yeah, I do a little bit, Kenny. The
jet I got like this moniscous issue and one of
them from a rebound I pulled down from the skies
a few years ago. So you know, it's it's a
painful existence. But I think I'm gonna end up being
a runner, like in my forties. Okay, you know, if
(08:18):
I get like of ten years to kind of figure
it out, sure, I think I'll be all right, that's fair.
You ever have any interest in running a marathon? Negative?
My friends?
Speaker 7 (08:25):
Did that?
Speaker 6 (08:25):
Last?
Speaker 4 (08:26):
I ran the Little King's Many Mile once the Mini
mile yep, one mile. Speaking of kings, did you see
that there is a place in Ripley with a one
million dollar Queen of Hearts?
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Yep, there's only four cards left.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
If you're not familiar with the Queen of Hearts game,
there's a deck of cards that is in like an
enclosed case, and each card is numbered and you enter
your name into a raffle. You got to buy the
raffle tickets. You enter your name into the raffle, and
if your name is picked, then you also write down
the number of the card you want to be flipped over.
And right now forty eight cards have been picked without
(09:04):
the Queen of Hearts.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
It's amazing.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
There are four left. And they said yesterday that next
next week's Wednesday jackpot will be north of one million dollars.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
That you take home. That is ridiculous. It might be
worth a trip to Ripley. Honestly, it might be. I mean,
if everybody starts flocking on this place, it might have
been a two million dollars.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Well, I saw that it was like two or three
weeks ago. They had bands out in the street. I mean,
they're welcoming it. They had bands in the streets. It
was a party, you know. I went to a Queen
of Hearts at Augies with you one time. Yeah, and
they had a hot dog truck they did. Yeah, And
that was not at a million dollars no, but it was
still good money, still good money. So yeah, shout out
to Ripley. Might have to make the Johnt down to Ripley.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Now. So speaking of that, I learned something today. Rick
yu Chino was telling me about this. Apparently in what
they are referring to as the Big Beautiful Bill, which
is being voted on. Apparently there is an amendment to
that Big Beautiful Bill, not the gambling with gamb that
basically affects the way. I guess it's trying to kill
(10:07):
the gaming industry. That's what it was explained to me,
as I don't know the details, but basically, you would
have to pay way more in federal tax on something
like a Queen of Hearts win than you would normally
or you would right now get it in now before
that bill passes, and I think the way it was
explained to me was like, and for gambling purposes. If you,
(10:31):
let's say you bet one hundred thousand dollars and you
break even at one hundred thousand dollars, you have to
pay the taxes on ninety percent or ten percent of
your winnings, so you basically, even though you were even,
(10:54):
you still have to pay the taxes on ten thousand dollars,
which I think is how it's gonna work. I don't
know if I explained that correctly. It ain't working, but
that's kind of that ain't good?
Speaker 6 (11:04):
Right?
Speaker 4 (11:04):
That's not a good thing, is it? For those of
us who like to wager on a game?
Speaker 5 (11:09):
Right here and there?
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Can I share something with you that I just received
based on a conversation you opened up yesterday? Sure, you're
a Love Island guy, right, Love Island UK, Okay to
be specific, so not this Love Island. Love Island USA
is big right now? Well, our friends at Oakley Greens
just sent out a link. Okay, Every Thursday night Austin
at nine o'clock, they throw a dollar off cone a
(11:31):
big wave, they turn all the TV sounds on for
Love Island watch parties.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
You know this is that might be some up your ally.
This has become a thing now. I've seen folks down
at the banks doing this man a couple of different
establishments down at the banks. I've never seen Love Island,
and I mean it's terrible TV. It's I don't know,
if it's not terrible TV, bad enough that you have
to watch it. It's terrible people on TV. Okay, it's
(11:58):
like a train wreck you can't look away from. That's
what it is. Makes sense, and this is the new
craze because Love Island USA has become uber popular in
the United States, I think personally because it's like our
country and our people. I would probably be it's too
cringe for me to watch. But Love Island UK and
(12:20):
the way that they chat and their slang. You have
to watch it with subtitles to understand what they're saying. Yeah,
I mean it's fantastic. I'm out on that one. I
would go to a Love Island watch party. But good
for everyone else, especially they got the knag you and
marriage should should go down for one. Yeah, we got
the way our schedule. You guys will walk out of
their fielding a lot better about your marriage, the way
our schedule set up, it's just hard to do anything
(12:42):
like that. You say that all the time.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Last night, Clayton Kershaw became the fourth left handed pitcher
in Major League Baseball history to not just.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
Three thousand strikeout. Let's go Clayton.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Shout out to Clayton Kershaw. DeAndre Ayton is a Los
Angeles Laker. Red Panda has been released from the hospital.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
Congratulations Panda.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Broken wrist. She'll be back, but everything else is in
a good spot. Is that one of those injuries for
her mental that?
Speaker 4 (13:10):
Mentally? I hope not. It's not the same the next
time you get up on the unicycle, I hope not.
Can you get Does she have to do like a
too a tongue of I looa and learn how to fall? Maybe? Maybe?
Speaker 8 (13:23):
So?
Speaker 2 (13:23):
We wish the best to Red Panda. Wimbledon's happening. Novak
Djokovic cruise through his match today.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
And right now do you root for novaktor? I like?
I don't know if I like the guy?
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Right now, Cincinnati's own Katie McNally, that's right, is up
one set to nothing on the number eight seed at Wimbledon.
That's on right now.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
That's IgA try swee tech. Is that correct? Sure? Uh? Yeah,
Major League Baseball power rankings are out. Katie mcnowly's going
to be here next month, right for the Uh, that's right,
Cincinnati Open, that's right by the way. Oh, go ahead,
you were gonna say Major Lege Baseball power.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Yeah, there's four right now, Four Austin NL Central teams
in the top fifteen of the power.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
Rankings in Major League Baseball.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Interesting, the Reds come in at fifteen right now, the
Saint Louis Cardinals eleven, the Brewers eight, and the Chicago
Cubs are number five. Okay, so a little bit of
what Mike talked about when he called in yesterday. The
NL Central. It's a good, good place to be right
now for good baseball.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
Some other Major League Baseball news, Cleveland Guardians right hander
Luis or Tees He's faced the Reds twice this year.
He pitched twice in the Ohio Cup. He's under investigation
for gambling, a source has confirmed to Jeff Passing at ESPN.
It was originally reported by Ken Rosenthal and Zach Misel.
(14:48):
Or Tez was placed on paid leave by Major League
Baseball earlier today, amid a league investigation into gambling activities.
He was supposed to start tonight at Wrigley against the Kubbies,
so Luis Ortiz under investigation for gambling.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
We've got your Major League Baseball All Star Game starters.
From an NL standpoint, Otani is your DH, Freddie Freeman
as your first baseman, Katel Martev the Diamondbacks at second,
lind Door at shortstop, Manny Machado's the third baseman, Will
Smith catching, and the outfield consist of Pete crow Armstrong,
Ronald Kunere Junior, and Kyle Tucker.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
I don't have a problem with any of those except shortstop. Yeah,
Lindor has been terrible. I don't know if he's been terrible,
but he's not been worthy of starting in the All
Star Game when you compare him to some other shortstops,
most notably Elie de la Cruz that I don't like.
But the rest of that I think is that's a
fair game.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
Pete crow Armstrong has earned every bit of what he's
been doing.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
He's a chaos creator man, he absolutely is.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
From the American League standpoint, Ryan o'hearns the DH Vlad
Guerrero Junior at first, Claver Torres at second, Jacob Wilson
at short, Jose Ramiroz your third baseman, the big dumper,
cal Rally's the catcher, and then the out field judge,
Riley Green, Hobber Bias.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
How about Javier Bias making an All Star appearance as
an outfielder. You know, I was listening to when they
were on Sunday Night Baseball this week. They're kind of
telling the story of how that came to be, and
they basically went to Hovey Bias and was like, listen,
would you be open where you got all these injuries?
Would you be open to play in center field? And
how they was like, yes, I've been trying to tell
(16:25):
people for years I can play center field. And he
was a monster when the Tigers stood him out there,
and now he's turned into an All Star outfielder, him
and Riley Green together, Riley Green's got almost eighty runs
batted in already. The singer this season, No, that'd be
the outfielder. But he does walk up to Riley Green.
The singer's music smart, which is kind of cool. Smart.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Yeah, all right, we have we have some Bengals we'll
get to today. We have a Mike Florio update on
Shamar Stewart. We've got some Joe Burrow insane numbers against
the Blitz. We also have some Reds to talk about
what felt like a monumental win last night to avoid
a sweep. They remain the only team in baseball not
to be swept. They try to carry some momentum into
(17:07):
an off day today before they take on the Phillies
in Philadelphia this weekend. We'll get to the Reds when
we come back, and then we phone calls. Can we
do a t a pole question? We got time?
Speaker 4 (17:16):
We got a Cincy three to sixty pole question presented
by Revivefitnessystems dot com at Coach PJ. Street Fourth of
July weekend? Tone, which is the best part about the
Fourth of July? Hot dog eating contest? Fireworks, grilling out
or other? Replied below. Coach PJ. Street said all three
(17:38):
of the options combined plus a few cocktails, So Coach
PJ getting after it this weekend. Kate said her daughter's birthday.
KB says, beers in the pool with friends and family.
Pepy Peppie. Patty says Wimbledon. Now, maybe if an American
wins Wimbledon. I don't know about that, right, now sixty
(17:58):
two percent a grilling out, twenty two percent say fireworks
a disappointing three point eight percent say hot dog eating contest?
What is wrong with you people?
Speaker 2 (18:09):
They talk about bad Lands yesterday Badlands Booker man chug
in the lemonade, nothing is better? What did than the
hot dog eating? What did Chestnut say about retirement?
Speaker 4 (18:19):
Chestnuts said that retirement would be death. Yeah, I'm doing
this till the wheels fall off, and they could fall off.
You can vote at Audio Moore at ESPN fifteen thirty,
at tonioscore Bike fifteen. I would throw a pool up there.
I always find a pool.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
And it feels like as of late, the Reds are
always playing day baseball on the fourth of July. Yeah,
which I enjoy a little Reds on the radio sitting
by the back. It's a good call right there, That's
a really good call.
Speaker 4 (18:45):
How to round the radio? How do we feel about
people shooting off fireworks in the days surrounding the fourth
of July? I'll give you the weekend. Okay, I'll give
you the week because last night where I live of
it sounded like a war zone active yeah, and I'm
I was kind of wondering do we need to be
(19:07):
doing this on July second?
Speaker 5 (19:09):
I'll give you.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
I'll give you the weekend. It's also the two hundred
and forty ninth birthday. Right next year, I'll give you
a whole week. Big, I'll give you a week. I'll
give you two weeks.
Speaker 6 (19:18):
You want to.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Celebrate this for two country. You want to celebrate our
freedom to forty nine?
Speaker 9 (19:23):
Though?
Speaker 4 (19:24):
Do we need to do it like two days before
and two days after? Great question? I think I think
you got to shut him down Sunday though, right, and
people got to work on Monday. Right, you're right, And
my old man yells at cloud On. This got a
little bit like it, Okay, felt a little bit more okay.
Some people, some cities do their fireworks the weekend before
Marcus chimes in. He says, drinking at numerous parties. Mark's
(19:50):
got a roster of parties. He's going to All right, Marcus,
I like it.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
We'll be back. We're just getting started on Friday, just
like a Friday. We just picked up three yards on
first down. We'll look to pick up another three yards.
Every play is a touchdown. Well, we got what four
segments each hour? Three yards every segment We're moving the
change till three o'clock on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
Thanks to Skyline Chili.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
Now your chance to win a thousand dollars entered.
Speaker 10 (20:21):
To swing and this ball is crushed by very deep
and long gone out of Pinway Park, over the monster
and left center. The first career Grand Slam for Christian
in Carnassio. Strand has given the Reds a four to
three lead at midway.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
A three to zero deficit quickly becomes a one run lead.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
Has cees has.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
That ball landed yet not to my knowledge out of
the ballpark. An absolute majestic shot. His first career Grand
Slam came in an unbelievable full time for the Cincinnati Reads.
They needed that in a big way, and uh he
was able to deliver. We'll talk more about that in
just a few minutes. Let's grab a couple of phone
(21:10):
calls here, our guy Austin, our president Johnny from Mount Healthy.
I think he he spoke a couple of weeks ago
that if the Reds were to go into the fourth
of July over five hundred, then he had an announcement
that he needed to make m He's calling in right now.
Speaker 11 (21:24):
Hi, Johnny, Tony Austin Happy, Happy firsty Thursday table.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
Yeah, thanks John.
Speaker 12 (21:33):
I have here a letter of.
Speaker 11 (21:35):
Resignation that if given just a couple seconds year of
your time, I sure like to read your top de
nation if it's allowed, please. So it is with great shame,
ultimately that I am resigning this day, July the third,
as Talkback President after a two year term, the longest term,
(21:57):
some would say in talkback present history. Unfortunately, wasn't a
good tenure. I promise many things, championships that I did
deliver on as far as free skyline Shilly, but the
Bengals did not make the playoffs at all during my tenure.
The red did not make the playoffs at all during
my tenure. And with these results, it is with reason
(22:22):
and a heavy heart that I do need to resign.
Speaker 13 (22:25):
As talkback president.
Speaker 6 (22:26):
Wow.
Speaker 11 (22:28):
I think the best thing I can say is that
the Reds are the reason that I am resigning, and
they are on.
Speaker 12 (22:33):
The up and up.
Speaker 13 (22:34):
They after their win yesterday, I think.
Speaker 12 (22:37):
We have something to root for.
Speaker 11 (22:39):
But I hope that a new president is even allowed
by YouTube because at this point you might be tired
of it. At this point, a new president needs to
take the reins and bring playoff with dreesa Cincinnati couple.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
Thank you sure.
Speaker 11 (22:53):
I would like to think, of course, first and foremost,
Vice President Slick Willy one could not.
Speaker 13 (22:59):
Ask for a better v P.
Speaker 11 (23:01):
I mean, extremely high in his performance if you get
my drifts. I would also like to thank who IDM
is the best talkbacker leaves the best talkback and that
would be multi personality.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
Might I agree? I agree?
Speaker 11 (23:16):
I believe he leaves the most creative, weird and random
talkbacks that always cheer me up when he sends him
at six am in the morning about his wife leaving him, and.
Speaker 12 (23:25):
He deserves credit.
Speaker 14 (23:28):
I would like to not think, uh talkback matters guy.
If I had any executive veto power, I would not
allow another talkback from them again, But unfortunately I'm resigning
and I leave that up to the producers. Lastly, I
would like to thank Tony and Austen truly for creating
(23:49):
a show that has both been hilarious, magical Cincinnati and
also just a highlight of my day.
Speaker 12 (23:57):
So thank you all.
Speaker 5 (23:59):
Thank you.
Speaker 11 (23:59):
Talk back Nan still worry You'll still get a bunch
of drunk talk backs free.
Speaker 12 (24:04):
It's just no longer have.
Speaker 11 (24:05):
Any weeks on the talk technique at Austin probably will
not play some of them.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
Johnny, you've served admirably. Thank you, Johnny served, You've served
this station admiral.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
A standing ovation for me, John.
Speaker 12 (24:22):
I appreciate it, folks. I just need the Bengals to
win this.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
Can we at least get in in your uh you're
passing here a whoday?
Speaker 4 (24:30):
Please?
Speaker 11 (24:32):
Oh absolutely, I'll give you the biggest who they've ever given.
And I was saving this you honestly when the Bengals
win the super Bowl. But you know it's damn it, Tony,
you get it. So on the count of three, one
two three?
Speaker 15 (24:46):
Who?
Speaker 13 (24:48):
Great?
Speaker 4 (24:48):
John John thank you so much? On you soon. All right,
thank you, Johnny. Wow.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
So Johnny's resigning former former talked by President Reagan is
at Camp David Klingler. Yeah, the inmates are running the asylum.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
Could you imagine if today was the day we announced
they knew.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Well, normally this month is the time, but the Reds
have made things interesting.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
That's the thing. This is had time. I think this
is kind of the unofficial rule. When the Reds are good,
there's no elections. When they stay or when they're interesting.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
You know, he got elections, and I think it appropriate Austin,
if we take one more phone call from uh, the
former now president of talkbacks to the only person who,
in multiple talkback elections has finished dead last calling in,
what's up?
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Masoo?
Speaker 12 (25:37):
Wow?
Speaker 13 (25:38):
I mean if this day doesn't have Friday vibes, that
is phenomenal. The fact that he called in and resigned.
Speaker 8 (25:49):
Right before me league perfectly, me and Moon we have
a president and a bi I will self proclaim it
right now.
Speaker 13 (26:03):
It's happening.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
Wow, that's right.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Congratulations taking the office by storm the new president of
talkbacks Maso from the villa.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 13 (26:15):
I wasn't expecting that.
Speaker 9 (26:16):
Congratulations man, How the hell are you boys?
Speaker 4 (26:19):
It's been a while, great man, a long time. I'm
starting to thank you. Lost my number.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
As Austin put it today, we are we're just trying
to get a couple of first downs.
Speaker 13 (26:29):
Yep, I hear you.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
Well.
Speaker 13 (26:31):
Like I said earlier, it's it's definitely got Friday vibes,
and I figured i'd keep it going. I got one
foot out the door. I'm on vacation next week. Where
are you going to Anna Marie Island?
Speaker 6 (26:43):
Wow?
Speaker 13 (26:45):
Yeah, yeah, so hopefully I'll make my own love island
down there. You know what I'm.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Saying down there in the villa biggah Ill.
Speaker 13 (26:58):
So anyway, yeah, I don't know. I was just calling.
Speaker 12 (27:01):
Uh.
Speaker 13 (27:02):
Actually I did have one thing to bring up.
Speaker 6 (27:04):
Sure.
Speaker 13 (27:05):
So I was having a conversation with a co worker
yesterday and we started talking about the Browns and their
new stadium that they're getting and how it's getting state funded,
all this.
Speaker 12 (27:16):
Blah blah blah.
Speaker 13 (27:18):
So to preface this, this guy grew up in the
Columbus area, and I was like, yeah, what's going on? Like,
why can't Cincinnati get, you know, some of that love
and some of that money. He's like, I'll be honest
with you, once you get north of Dayton, people hate Cincinnati.
And that blew my mind. Now I figured Columbus, you know,
(27:40):
it's halfway between Cincinnati and Cleveland. I figured it'd be
fifty to fifty. Yeah, And he was not joking. He
was like, no, it's about zero zero percent. Ape of
the people that live up there actually like Cincinnati fans.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
Wow.
Speaker 13 (27:53):
And I was like, why are we I was like, what,
why are we so bad? Like what did we do?
So now I'm starting to think a freaking our own
senator doesn't even like Cincinnati.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
What the hell? As a Columbus guy, can you attest
to this? Well, I would say I don't think north
of Dayton is necessarily true, because I mean, I grew
up in Sydney, which is north of Dayton, and there's
a ton of people that you hated the Bearcats. Though, no,
that's not true. I sent you a photo of me
from when you were playing for the Bearcats, of me
(28:23):
wearing UC gear. I've always liked you were four years old,
your Paris was not, so, you know, I don't think
that's entirely true, But I do think in Columbus specifically,
there's a lot more people from Cleveland and northern Ohio
and Columbus than there are from southern Ohio. And I
(28:44):
think most people from Cincinnati would agree with this. People
never leave here, or if they do, they come back.
Like Cincinnati is the smallest big city I've ever met that.
You know, everybody jokes about the whole where'd you go
to high school?
Speaker 13 (28:56):
Thing?
Speaker 4 (28:57):
Sure, Like people don't leave, they all stay here. Like
there's not Cincinnati transplants, not very many, at least as
much as there are from Cleveland in Columbus, or in
Toledo or in other parts of the state.
Speaker 13 (29:12):
Yeah, I get you.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
I think another thing too, the Bengals have been awful
about marketing in Columbus. They don't do anything for Columbus.
The most they'll ever do is like they do stuff
in Dayton every once in a while, but they don't
promote in Columbus whatsoever. The Reds haven't done that much either,
but they're at least better, and the Reds Radio Network
(29:33):
just added a huge affiliate in Columbus, which is good.
But like the teams here have never really done a
good job I think of marketing themselves in those cities.
Speaker 13 (29:44):
Yeah, okay, gotcha. Well yeah, like I said, I don't
know all the ins and out of that, but I
just found it kind of shocking that we were actually
kind of hated. I guess we have our own little
dynamic here of northern Kentucky, uh, southwestern Ohio and southeast Indiana.
I'll take that.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
Stem from jealous.
Speaker 12 (30:06):
Let's just go.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
I think it stems from jealousy.
Speaker 13 (30:09):
You know it must be, but uh, anyway, yeah, I
just had to get that.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Well heck, and enjoy vacation and congratulations the new talkback
president Maso from the Ville A Hi boy, see yeah,
I kill that annimaal Rie Island's in trouble. Did you
used to date her Anna Marie? Yeah, now not the island.
We'll be right back. Let's catch up on what the
Reds did, uh quickly, and then we'll get we have
(30:36):
we have more phone calls. People want to join a
phone it might be well, we'll quickly recap yesterday's too
in Boston. We'll look ahead to what's happening, and then
we'll get to Brian, John and Moore from a phone
standpoint next. Since he three to sixty ESPN fifteen thirty
Cincinnati Sports Station.
Speaker 4 (30:51):
Thanks to Skyline Chili, most men have non.
Speaker 16 (30:54):
Natty's ESPN fifteen thirty.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
Welcome back since he three six at the ESPN fifteen
thirty Cincinnati Sports Station, a service of Skyline Chile. Let's
recap yesterday for the Cincinnati Redgs real quick. We'll do
so with Charlie Goldsmith this afternoon as well. They lose
game one of the doubleheader, which was the game that
was suspended the night before. They picked it up yesterday
in the top of the fourth inning and they did
(31:20):
hold a lead, did the Cincinnati Reds with a Spencer
Steer home run. Unfortunately, that leave did that lead was
not able to hold up. Lion Richardson gave up two runs,
Scott Barlow gave up a run, and the Reds fell
five to three at the hands of the Boston Red Sox.
Erodis Chapman pitched a a very solid ninth inning to
(31:43):
get the save for the Red Sox as well. They
beat the Reds. It put the Reds at a series
loss and had the Reds looking to avoid a series sweep,
which they did last night. But anything from you often
before we just dive into what happened last night, anything
from the game in the day yesterday that stood out.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
Uh, Spencer Steer continue to hit the ball with power
and put them up. Lyon Richardson a little bit worried
about him. Yeah, a couple of moving forward just hasn't
been great. And he had two or three weeks there
he was awesome. But they just it just felt like
for whatever reason, Boston just had their number, like they
made all the right plays. The Reds weren't necessarily clean
(32:24):
uh in that game. Uh So, yeah, just it just
felt like I don't know, it just felt like the
Reds were It just felt off. Yeah, it just felt off,
I guess the best way to describe it.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
And then if you flash forward to last night again,
REGs are the only team in Major League Baseball that
have not been swept this year, and going into the
seventh inning last night, the Reds trailed three to nothing.
They uh, they gave up a brall who Bras killed
the Reds this series. W Brallio has dominated the Reds.
(32:57):
He had a two home run, he was on real
and that's the Red Sox scored in the second on
a sack fly where TJ. Friedel misplayed a ball off
the wall. That's where I kind of wanted to start
before we get into how the Reds answered.
Speaker 4 (33:13):
TJ.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
Friedel's had a little bit, for the first time this year,
a rough patch over the last week or so, both
at the plate and in the outfield. He miss timed
a dive last week that that led to a huge play,
misplayed a ball in the air that led to the
inside the park home run, missed the ball off the
wall last night. He's just not been as sharp in
(33:34):
centerfield as of late.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
Right, Yeah, it just I think defensively, It's just not
It's just it's a mildly concerning trend. Maybe the way
he's been for the last couple of weeks, he's dipped
a little bit at the plate. It could just be
that the guy's tired. You know, he plays every single day,
He plays all out every single day. They've had these
(33:56):
you know, kind of weird rain stopped games and delays,
and I just wonder, you know, TJ's been hurt a
lot in his career in the pasture, and so for
him to have this extended stretch of health is great,
but also maybe not something he's entirely used to. So
I think a day like today, an off day, is
huge for him. I also wouldn't be surprised if he
(34:17):
gets another one prior to the All Star break, especially
if they're able to go on a little bit of
a run over these next ten If Francona can give
him another day off and maybe put Will Benson out
in center field or resigns or whatever it is, I
don't think that's a bad idea.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Yeah, something that I think is worth following along with
now earmarked that, Yeah, what felt like what was going
to be just a gut punch of a series because
their trailing going into the seventh, they had really not
shown many signs of life. Completely changes, in large part
due to what Christian Vcarnossio and Strand did. We played
the audio coming back from segment two a grand slam.
(34:55):
They listed it at four hundred and thirty nine feet.
I always marvel, how can you come up the distance
when the ball doesn't even land in the stadium. I
mean that ball still hasn't landed. It could be bouncing
down the streets of Boston right now. But a cees
grand slam, the first of his career. In the seventh,
Elie followed it up with an RBI as well. The
Reds then tried to play keep away. The Red Sox
(35:20):
made it five to four and the seventh. The Reds
added three more in the eighth inning the help of
a Trevor Story air that scored two more runs as well.
But last night Austin I thought Martinez was okay six
and two thirds. He gave up four on runs. The
bullpen was great, Tony Santition was great last night. I
(35:40):
know you had a question about Amelia Pagan and putting
runners on base, but outside of that it felt so
much more that there's been losses this year that have
felt more than just a loss, that felt like more
than just a win. Because it avoids the sweep, you
still think, okay, if there's a way you can go
three and three on this road t up, you take
(36:00):
two or three from Philly, and then you've got a
very favorable seven game stretch before the break. But it
still puts you in good position. They're a game and
a half out of the wild card again, the only
team in baseball that hasn't been swept. But it just
felt bigger than just one game in a swing last
night in that nightcap. Yeah, so all good things leading
for the Reds right now. You'd have liked to win
(36:22):
the series, but you take one of three, you avoid
the sweep, and now with an off day to day,
you look forward to a I believe a one to
oh five start tomorrow, and in this series against the
Philadelphia Phillies, you're gonna see Hunter Green scheduled to take another.
Speaker 4 (36:39):
Another stint on the mound.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
From a rehab standpoint, with the team not not in
triple ay, but with the team you're gonna get Abbott
Lodolo and Chase Burns, you should feel pretty good about
that rotation going into Philadelphia.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
Yeah, absolutely, I mean, I think Chase Burns has a
chip on his shoulder. Abbot has been wonderful all season long,
and Lodolo, I think is kind of trending in the
right direction. So yeah, yeah, you know, I'd need to
look up the numbers for Philly against left handers, but
I know that. You know, Nick Castianos, for example, no
batter in baseball has left more runners on base than
(37:11):
Nick Castianos, a big right handed bat that's going to
face a couple of lefties, and sometimes it's difficult when
you have lefties back to back in the rotation or
within you know, the same team over the course of
a series. That can make it a little bit easier
for those teams to see the ball. But Philly has
struggled at times offensively this year. They're a little bit better,
(37:33):
but they've struggled at times offensively. On top of that too,
Bryce Harper coming back from a wrist injury, and he
kind of came back on his own terms because he
felt like he wasn't getting any better right, and he
says it's a wrist injury that he's going to have
to manage for the rest of the year and then
kind of go from there. So maybe Bryce isn't one
hundred percent left on left that could be an advantage
as well for their Yeah, it's certainly something to watch
(37:55):
for the Reds going forward. And if I'm not mistaken,
Bryce Harper has like killed the Reds in his career.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
It is interesting and I think worth noting Austin jesus
Lozardo Ranger Suarez for the Phillies, both lefties that are
going to pitch in the first two games as well.
Suarez has a two ERA on the season, so another
very high end left handed starter that the Reds are
gonna have to face. But that's where things stand with
the Reds as of today. Let's take a break, John
(38:21):
and Brian. We'll get to your phone calls next, and
then we'll get to Charlie Goldsmith to kick off the
second hour at cinty three to sixty Thanks to Skyline
Chili on ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati.
Speaker 11 (38:29):
Sports Station fifteen thirty, and iHeartRadio Station.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
Welcome back since he three to sixty ESPN fifteen thirty
Cincinnati Sports Station, a service of our good friends at
Skyline Chile. Anytime you're feeling good and hungry, it's Skyline time.
Speaker 4 (38:58):
Let's grab a couple of phone calls. Here. John is
calling in. What's up? John?
Speaker 7 (39:04):
Hey, Tony?
Speaker 12 (39:05):
How are you good?
Speaker 4 (39:06):
How are you good?
Speaker 12 (39:08):
Good? Hey?
Speaker 7 (39:08):
You guys are one hundred percent correct. That did feel
like such a big win last night. I was cutting
the grass and listened to the radio part of it.
Speaker 12 (39:16):
I think a couple of.
Speaker 7 (39:17):
Things to note from that ending of the Grand Slam.
And I don't remember who the batter was, but I
think it was the fact it was after Stevenson single,
he had like a ground ball third the third baseman
misplayed it, uh, and then a guy got on base there,
and then I believe Lucks came up and I think
he was either down oh two or one two?
Speaker 4 (39:42):
Did we lose?
Speaker 5 (39:43):
Johnny?
Speaker 7 (39:44):
Set us those innings up.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
John, You cut out there for a little bit. You
started talking about Gavin Lux.
Speaker 7 (39:52):
Yeah, talking about that inning that they had the Grand
Slam is Uh, Lucks had a uh long at bat
where he ended up for he was down two or
one two and fount some pitches off and work to
walk and as just those little things that kind of
gets gets innings like that. Going.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
Yeah, I'm a huge fan of Gavin. Looks like his ability.
I think him in the middle of the lineup is
really important to the team. Like the way he works
at bats. I mean, hell, had a nice double off
of a lefty the other day, which is not something
we see often from this team. His ability to just
get on base, to put the bat on the ball.
He doesn't strike out a ton, He walks, he makes
(40:29):
pitchers work, he fights off pitches. Like him in the
middle of the lineup, I think is crucial.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
Yeah, he's he's one of the guys I have confidence
and when he comes up that you know you're gonna
get a competitive at bat in a big situation.
Speaker 13 (40:41):
Exactly.
Speaker 7 (40:41):
That's why I was gonna say, he's a professional hitter,
and you just you can just tell when he's at
the plate. He doesn't mind if he gets down to stripes.
He just he keeps puts the ball in play, doesn't
strike out much.
Speaker 12 (40:54):
Well.
Speaker 7 (40:54):
The other thing I was gonna say too, and this
is off the subject, but about the red panda the
other night and I and I think that that game
was in Minnesota.
Speaker 4 (41:02):
Correct, Uh, yeah, I think so.
Speaker 7 (41:05):
Yeah, Yeah, I think he was in Minnesota. Well, I
was kind of I wondered what was going on because,
I mean, she falls off her unicycle. She's laying on
the floor, and I mean, and I know, but both teams,
there's half time, both teams have trainers and stuff like that.
There was some dude with a pack baseball cap on backwards.
He was the only guy that like went out and
(41:27):
tried to do anything with him. Thinking is there no
medical people in that facility or like they just let
the let her lay there. She's got a broken wrist
and then she has to walk off the floor. I'm thinking,
isn't there like a can you get a wheelchair? Or
a journey or something said to help the poor things
she's out there? I mean, and I've seen her perform
live at an Indiana basketball game a couple of years ago.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
Well we lost John again, John, thank you for the
calling it is.
Speaker 2 (41:58):
It was interesting because the video of her, like if
you're watching her perform, she just disappears from the screen
and I think you're kind of like you're holding your breath, like, wait,
what just happened? Yeah, And obviously then she she pops
back up. You see her on the ground and in pain.
Speaker 4 (42:14):
But yeah, it was.
Speaker 2 (42:15):
It was a very surreal, very weird situation for sure.
Jeff is calling in what's up, Jeff?
Speaker 17 (42:23):
A happy day before the holiday jents heading to the
beach and almost had to pull over. Man Johnny almost
made me start crying.
Speaker 4 (42:34):
How about that? Just straight from the heart too.
Speaker 17 (42:38):
I can't wait to see him at the at the
grail and football season leading the cheers. That's always a
good thing.
Speaker 4 (42:45):
Yea.
Speaker 17 (42:45):
So the Ces home run last night made me think
in nineteen ninety nine the All Star Game, was it
Fenway that home run derby? If your members the Maguire
and Sosa and all that fanaticism, you.
Speaker 6 (42:58):
Guys might be too young.
Speaker 17 (43:00):
So I was living in Boston at the time. I'm
at the home run derby with a buddy of mine.
Fal Pop comes over, ends up in my buddy's hand.
Speaker 12 (43:08):
He squeezing the ball, looking at it.
Speaker 17 (43:11):
I'm like, what's going on? He flips me the ball.
It was wound so tight and it was so much
smaller than a regulation baseball.
Speaker 12 (43:20):
It was unbelievable.
Speaker 17 (43:22):
The balls that they put in use for the home
run derby that night. Yeah, because that was before that
was before the Monster seats and behind the Green Monster
there's a road and then there's the Massachusetts Turnpipe and
guys are hitting balls out onto the mass Pike and
we were like, oh man, somebody's gonna get killed out there.
And my buddy was like, feel this baseball. It's like
(43:46):
a golf ball, you.
Speaker 13 (43:46):
Know type of things.
Speaker 4 (43:47):
So, uh, it's interesting and it sitting.
Speaker 12 (43:52):
Up on the Monster. I don't know if.
Speaker 17 (43:53):
Feeling ever admitted that or not. I know it came
across his desk, and I'm not sure he ever admitted it,
but sitting up on those monster seats is something every
everybody should do. Yeah, me, you should go to Fenway,
no matter what, if you've never been. Those are hard
to come by, but you should sit up there if
you can.
Speaker 4 (44:11):
I heard Tommy Thrall and Chris Welsh on the broadcast
the other night. I guess they had a friend who
went up there and he tipped the usher one hundred
dollars and the usher let him sit there for half
an inning in one of the Monster seats. So, I mean,
that's an expensive half inning, but I think that might
be worth it.
Speaker 17 (44:33):
Yeah, it's it's a weird view from up there, you
know how sometimes you sit up too high and you
can't tell how fly balls are going or anything like
that until one comes right at you. So that's that's
pretty cool. And on the subject your OAD games, if
anybody's gonna be in the DC area on the twenty
first or the twenty third for the redsit the Nats
(44:55):
ring me up. I got I got tickets for each
one of those games. I'd be happy to host them, buddy.
Speaker 12 (45:02):
In any area.
Speaker 4 (45:03):
There you go, very cool, Thank you, Jeff. Have a
great holiday weekend.
Speaker 17 (45:07):
Yeah, don't pull your hands.
Speaker 4 (45:09):
Off all right, thank you, jo. I won't be touching
any fireworks. Tell you that much. That is. That's good stuff,
you know. He said he was going to the beach.
I was thinking about this the other day. When you
go to the beach, do you actually go to the beach.
Because if I'm the type of person, like if I'm
going on vacation to a beach destination, I'm going to
the beach. I'm gonna sit in the sand, I'm gonna
(45:31):
listen to the waves, maybe read a book something like that.
I'm not gonna sit around at the pool or go
to some resort or like the lazy I'm not doing
all that, I'm gonna sit on the beach, so.
Speaker 2 (45:42):
Thoughts the week after next we're heading down to CSA Key,
And it changes a little bit with the kids because
they want to spend time at the pool.
Speaker 4 (45:50):
So I'm fine with that. Sure.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
What I have enjoyed more as I get older is
making sure we get to the beach for like that
six have an eight o'clock timeframe where you can sit
down there on the chairs. It's not as hot. Yeah,
run around in the sand, get in the water shallow
area it's a little bit cooler, and then you get
to watch.
Speaker 4 (46:08):
The sunset down there. Yeah, that's cool. And you also
don't miss happy hour at the Dakary Deck. Long Boat Key, Florida.
Best beach I've ever been to. That's nice. Long Boat
Key's not far from you down there. No, it's not.
That's in the uh we went to long Boat Key.
There was like six people there. That was awesome. That's
in the general vicinity. Yeah, it's just the Stones throw Away.
(46:29):
Got some good golf courses up there on long Boat
Key too.
Speaker 2 (46:32):
But yeah, I like those twilight hours, man. Yeah, I
enjoy that. From a from a beach going standpoint, I
also enjoy on Fridays, even though it's a Thursday, getting

we get to bump Charlie Goldsmith up a day. And
(48:26):
it's not just any day, Austin. This is traveling Charlie.
I understand Charlie's on the road right now. I think
he's at the airport. He's Charlie's at the airport. Yeah,
I figured he'd be. I thought Charlie would be driving
to Philly. He's gonna fly, his arms are gonna be tired.
Speaker 4 (48:40):
All right, Hey, Charlie, how you doing.
Speaker 12 (48:43):
I've got my six fla ready to go for my flight.
I had to go to a secluded more part of
the airport. I was gonna do it for court or
talk to you at one stop, but then they were
like lasting in JFK's speech about going to the moon,
So I didn't feel like you needed to have that
in the background. So now if you can hear in
the background, there's some like a Dell music playing, but
(49:05):
one of one of my favorite airports. But but we
don't need to get into that power ranking on this show.
Speaker 4 (49:09):
I don't know, maybe we should. You mean, this is
the stuff that interests me. You mentioned the favorite airport.
Do you have a favorite city you travel for the
Reds and the Bengals?
Speaker 12 (49:19):
Yeah, I mean suddenly in Boston's pretty sweet. The city,
it's walkability, the food areas, you know, Fanuel Halls on
my favorite spots for Bengals, Man, I love, I really
love the Thursday night trip to Baltimore. Good the end
of the night before, great area around that restaurant, a
lot of interesting, you know, a lot of cool, fun
spots in downtown Baltimore. So that would I say my
(49:41):
favorite Red trip and my favorite Bengals trip.
Speaker 2 (49:44):
All right, Charlie, this team, there's been many times we've
talked this year where the day after a loss, it
felt like, man, that felt like more than a loss,
And we were just talking before we got to our
number two here that last night's game felt like more
than just a win. It felt like it shifted things
back where if you end up getting swept for the
first time all season, maybe it takes away a little
(50:06):
bit of the momentum you had going. Did you feel
that as well? Did you feel how massive getting at
least one was last night?
Speaker 4 (50:12):
For this team?
Speaker 12 (50:14):
A defining quality of last season was that they'd have
like a big series win or even in some cases,
the series sweep, and then they go on to play
some of their worst baseball this season. They lost the
series as a hole in Fenway, but coming off their
their best home stands of the season, the Red's played
well in all three games, Like the first one. Sure,
you know, we can talk about Chase Burns. I was
(50:36):
really impressed with how the Reds played that game. They
got down seven to nothing. A lot of people told
me that too, They were impressed with how the team
played that game. Down seven to nothing against one of
the best left handed starters in baseball, easily could have
shut down. Instead, they had one of their most well
put together offensive stretches that they've had in the game
against the starter this season. The comeback after you know,
(50:57):
the rain suspension in game the way the bullpen stepped
up in that game, Sam Mal obviously you know, got
away from line Richards in the end, but they were
asking so much from all those guys, and then to
do it in Game three like that felt like the
type of thing that mature teams do. Almost a good
series loss the way they had.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
How much can you take from an outing the way
they did against a left handed starter. You're gonna see
two to start this Philadelphia series. It's something they've struggled
with for much of the first half. Austin Hayes is back,
noalve Marte is taking the right steps, you would think
to get back soon. How much can you take against
a good lefty like that and try to apply it
(51:38):
here against Philadelphia?
Speaker 12 (51:40):
So the line in football is like, and help me
out here. Teams are gonna blitz you until you throw
them out of it or something like that. You get
the point on making teams wake up in the morning
and say, how can we get as many left handed
pitchers to pay TJ. Frieda and Ali Vila Cruz as
possible on any given night, Like the Red Sox planned
their whole pitching day yesterday around having that left handed
(52:01):
opener Bernardino to start Game two, and then they brought
in I believe Murphy, another left hander, to then circle
back through the line up. There like that whole left
right thing shaped their whole strategy. Well, the only way
to get teams to stop doing that is McClain looking
stronger in the two spot, which I'm buying McLain stuck
right now. Spencer Steer n OL Player of the Week.
He looks like Spencer Steer getting Austin Hayes back. Martin
(52:24):
needs to be one of those pieces while there's much
less guaranteed with him, obviously he has the tools to
do so. And then these guys too, like, I mean,
you know it takes one through thirteen. They like to say,
I mean you need Cees, you need Hines to take
that next step forward as well. They're guys doing well.
There are guys you need to see more from their
guys coming back, but there's such an emphasis on what
they need to be getting from their right handed hitters.
Speaker 2 (52:47):
You mentioned that the emphasis on the right handed hitting.
What about the leadoff spot, because TJ. Friedel has probably
been the most consistent Red through this part of the season.
He'd never really strays from what he's doing at the plate,
although in the last week or so we've seen some
plays out in center field that aren't much TJ Friedle,
like he's not had the same bat we've seen for
(53:08):
much of the year. Does it feel to you like
maybe it's just a case of TJ. Friedel maybe needing
a day off or maybe needing to get to that
All Star break.
Speaker 12 (53:17):
Yeah, I think Terry Francona too used the word like
not banged up in terms of injuries, but just kind
of banged up in terms of the way we're all
banged up when you play thirty straight games or however
many it's been. I attribute it to that as much
as anything. The one thing though, physically that's like the
silver lining here is the and yes TJ's playing bat
baseball or not, TJ's not playing TJ Friedle baseball. The
(53:41):
one thing that's positive that makes this not a long
term concern for me is last year when TJ. Friedel
was truly banged up, when it was kind of playing
hurt with some soft tissue stuff, he stopped bunting because
he didn't have and no one really had a ton
of complidence in where his sprint speed was at to
be able to beat those strows out the first Well,
he's actually gone more to try to get out of
(54:01):
this slump, which I get because he's not hot, he's
not hitting as well. But the sign that he is
confidence in his bunts to me gives me that signal
that he's not dealing with something more serious that could linger.
So that's good. But yes, Fredo hasn't looked like Fredel.
He kind of needs a bit of a refresh, get
back to being who he is.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
What do you make of Noelvee Marte? Do you do
you envision him rejoining the team soon and if so,
is there a roster spot that makes sense for him
to take.
Speaker 12 (54:29):
I think it gonna happen tomorrow. Third base man, I mean,
it's been just a flaw. Like Ces won the game
for the Reds yesterday, the at bets have just been
incredibly inconsistent, and you know, with all the talk about
situational baseball, he's just been over aggressive and now he
can change a game and that's why he's getting opportunities.
But he's also not a dynamic fielder. So then they've
(54:51):
given Aspen all more chances because at least he's giving
you that consistent glove. But he's you know, performing at
at a very poor level, I believe since the start
of May. So now it's an Oliva Marque's turn not
to case by the fault because he definitely earnest but
the way he played before he got hurt, but it's
still just a nineteen game sample size. Now, he looked
good on the rehab assignment, but he's now entering the
(55:13):
stretch where he has to be a solution to a
spot the Rights haven't been getting enough from and then
passaging that all in there with the roster spot stuff,
like a thing that I mentioned earlier has been you know,
Cees meeting to improve his playing time has been cut
down a bit recently, ree Hines. You know, I got
to keep the helmet on. That's a sign of kind
of where he's at at the plate. And his defense, obviously,
(55:35):
you know, isn't something he's staying in games for getting
pulled defensively in games. So I you know, Ryan Vlaide
hasn't played, Santiago estp All's been struggling. So like the
back of the roster, I don't love where it's at
right now. So that give be you know, a couple
of different guys. It could be with Marte coming back,
but they're hoping that Marte helped sure that out and
they're kind of counting on it too. Uh.
Speaker 4 (55:57):
You guys got the chance to see Hunter Green yesterday
through in the simulated game and then talk to him afterwards.
What was your takeaway from the conversation with Hunter and
what you were able to see from his throwing.
Speaker 12 (56:10):
Yeah, my big takeaway was originally, you know, Hunter said
throw another live, and then after it was like throw
another live or rehab assignment. And I'm still not one
hundred percent sure where the plan is that Hunter felt good,
Hunter fell strong. I thought his slider looked a lot
better than the fastball, but you know, take that off
what you will with a million grains of salt, I think.
(56:32):
I mean, it was just sixteen pitches too. I was
I was kind of expecting multiple innings, so he's I
wouldn't expect him back right after the ultar break maybe,
or if he is, he'd probably just be able to
throw five innings, So that this has been more procedural
than maybe. You know, you were a hope coming just
back from a Grade one grain straight.
Speaker 4 (56:51):
On top of that. Spencer Steer was plunked yesterday, scratched late.
What was the update on him after the game or
any indication of what it could be moving forward for him?
Speaker 12 (57:02):
Yeah, actually he's negative. Now. You know, Jim Day always
says when he gives those updates after guys to get
hit my pitches always take that with the you know,
to be determined. I forget Jim's lyine subject to change.
I believe what Jim always says.
Speaker 2 (57:14):
There.
Speaker 12 (57:15):
I cut up with Spencer two after the game. He said, yeah,
they're swelling, but it should be better. He felt positive,
but again, these things change. But right now it was
a positive tone coming from Steer, optimistic about being in
the line pretty soon.
Speaker 2 (57:27):
Again, Charlie, we saw both ends of the spectrum and
and how hard baseball is. Because Chase Burns dazzled in
his start against the Yankees, he gets beat up a
little bit against the Boston Red Sox. What do you
make of the conversation around maybe tipping pitches and how
much are you looking forward to seeing him turn around
(57:47):
and get back out on the mount against a good
team in Philly to see what he has next.
Speaker 12 (57:52):
Yeah, I did make a point to watch his bullpen yesterday,
kind of working on the way he got downhill and
was kind of not necessarily separating his arms as a
tipping factor, but kind of like that part of the
motion when you're separating your arms and getting down the mound.
That was something he seemed to be focused on. Was
there an aspect of tipping pitches. I would say probably
(58:14):
there's a good chance, but I also don't think that's
the entire picture either. I also think there were, you know,
him making mistake, him elevating pitches over the plate. It
doesn't necessarily have to be just one thing, but they're
putting him on the track where all right, kids, you're
learning in the big leagues. That's what Chase Burns has earned.
He's ready, he belongs, he deserves to be in the resortation.
He gives them the best chance to win. But I
(58:37):
also don't think that he has some glaring tipping pitches problem.
I think even even if it was just thirteen starts
in the minor leagues, that would have been enough to
realize there was something in The Reds are obviously monitoring this,
and I've always been monitoring this, So I think the
truth somewhere in the middle. I think the truth is
he's an inexperienced guy who's figuring this out. Vizarowski had
a bad day Onazo yesterday over in Milwaukee. He's their phenom,
(58:59):
so this stuff happens. He'll start on Sunday, and he
was kind of focusing on some specific things in his
bullpen yesterday.
Speaker 2 (59:07):
Does it feel to you from being around the team
that the confidence of this team is growing and you
look at whether it's their approach at the plate, whether
what they get from the pitching staff Nick Martinez almost
those a no hit or last Friday, But does it
feel like from a culture standpoint that there is more consistency,
that there is more confidence exuding from this team.
Speaker 12 (59:30):
I do look at it more analytically, like guys are
just getting better. But this is a true story. So
like before Saturday's game against the Padres, down to steer
for a while after VP, and then I interviewed Hayes.
After a while, I went Hayes, then steer and after
the steering of you, as I walk back up at
the press box, I wrote my notebook, They've got a
look in their eye and what I meant by that,
(59:50):
like they know what to expect more, they know what
it takes. More. It feels much less unbridled optimism. You know,
we're ready to take on the world, which is how
it felt in twenty twenty three. And you feel a
lot more of the impact and the experience and kind
of the composure that guys like Hayes and Lux and
Trevino and Martinez and Pagan on the pitching staff and
(01:00:13):
Singer have brought. And then also it's a stage where
the young guys, you know, fear McLain to extend Ellie
even though he hasn't struggled as much like they've all
also struggled and dealt with adversity now, so there is
more of an understanding of kind of the grind, and
you're seeing that translate and how they talk and how
they prepare. I think the most important part it feels
(01:00:35):
like an older team. And again I wrote my notebook,
they've got a bit of a book.
Speaker 2 (01:00:38):
In their eyes to switch gears a little bit. Charlie,
we are, We're in July. There's gonna be a football
game played in July. The Bengals training camp twenty days away.
They get started on July twenty third, It's kind of
been the theme of the week we've talked as it
relates to the Bengals and questions going forward between now
and then, what is your biggest question mark that this
(01:00:59):
roster you feel like maybe still needs to establish between
now and then, I.
Speaker 12 (01:01:04):
Think what the story of training camp is going to be,
because we're not going to learn if this defense is
good or not in training camp, especially because they're going
to be facing you know, Joe Burrows. They're not gonna
look great. There are no joint practices. You'll put caveats
with all the preseason games that they play. What you
need to learn is and what I still don't know
is who the real leaders of this defense are. There
are a lot of different guys who have a runway
(01:01:25):
that they could follow. Obviously, low Wilson makes a lot
of sense. J Hill has that track record in that experience,
but then you know it's young guys like Jordan Battle,
who had the right star in his name because of
the on the Bengals draft sheets, because of the qualities
they felt like he showed at Alabama, but then maybe
he didn't back those up to the first two seasons
in the NFL. But then he got a chance to
(01:01:47):
resss this offseason, so like he's a guy cam Taylor
Brits the guy. I think Josh Newton has its. He
just has to be able to cover. So he's someone
who could step into a big role there. Demetrious Knight,
the Ted Carris called the Fast Dad, has a lot
of those qualities, but he's just a rookie. How does
he emerge kind of vocally? It's that's what I'm going
(01:02:08):
to be focus on focusing on during training camp because
that's the biggest thing is that this defense had a
culture problem last year. You know, that's why there was
so much turnover. There was so much divide between coach
and veteran and then young guys. How they bridge that gap.
It's kind of the first step to me of getting
this defense back on track.
Speaker 2 (01:02:27):
When you look at what's still obviously left out there. Charlie,
do you do you feel like the Hendrickson camp is
going to wait and see what happens with Watt and
Parsons And do you think that would change at all
what the Bengals number or years would end up being.
Speaker 12 (01:02:47):
I'm done predicting Trey Henderson. I think that Henderson's just
going to wake up one day and either change his
mind or wake up one day and say as decisive
as he is. But if that's just such a stalemate
right now, I still do think that something short term
gets done. That's still my prediction. But the way I
understand the situation is it's predicting, you know, not to
(01:03:10):
call him blackout tray off the field in terms of
contract negotiations, but that's the kind of personality, that's the
kind of wild card he is, and he's always been
just in terms of trying to figuring out, you know,
what his role is going to be, what his career
is going to look like. He's always been a tough guy,
our guy that's just been tough to predict compared to
a lot of other players in his position. So ultimately,
Treye just just got to decide what he wants to do,
(01:03:33):
and I think he'll wake up one day and do that.
But right now it's kind of at a stalemate point
with no deadline and no need to do something in
the short term.
Speaker 6 (01:03:41):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
Lastly, Charlie, from an offensive line standpoint, they've not received
great grades nationally from an offensive line standpoint, But how
much of you I guess dove into the thought or
thinking about the sophomore year now for Marius Mims, because
so much of what I think hinges on him is
people just look at how he played last year and
(01:04:01):
how he burst on the scene. You now have a
full offseason if your Mims to work on your things
you need to work on. But for a scouting department
of other teams, what are his strengths? What are his weaknesses?
Have you set any type of expectation on where you
stand on what year two can be now for Marius Mems.
Speaker 12 (01:04:20):
Well, first of all, just make sure we're not glossing
over the guard stuff like that's the concern we'll be
talking about it. I still think that's the best way
and really the only way to stop the Bengos offense
is that interior pressure up the middle, and that's something
they're just going to need to figure out more answers
to help for because the answers don't seem to be
those guards and one on one matchics right now. Now, Mems,
(01:04:42):
I think the new coaching staff, the new offensive line
coach Scott Peters, and the new ideas and principles Derek
can help him set a foundation, can create some more
kind of all right, this is what I need to do.
This is the plan to elevate my game to the
next level from a player development standpoint, which obviously is
something that there hasn't been a off on the offensive line.
I believe Marius Miims his exit meeting with Dak Taylor,
(01:05:05):
he talked about Pro Bowl goals this season and those
being realistic. There's a real confidence there. The Bengals love
what they have, Mims loves where he's acts, and in
terms of like who the breakout guys could be on
the Bengals as a whole, Like there's a good chance
that I like to use this as a bar they're
selling Marius Men's jerseys in the Pro Shop by the
end of the season. If they're looking at young guys
(01:05:25):
who could kind of step into that all right, Like
Chase Brown's already there, Kim Taylor, BRIT's already there, Marius
Mims is kind of that next guy. Maybe Dak Hills
another one in that camp as well, to make it
onto that type of stage. Just in terms of how
they're recognized around the city and around the league.
Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
Charlie are the best man. I appreciate you making this
work on a Thursday, Charlie. I know you got some
travel as well.
Speaker 4 (01:05:49):
Did you say that you got your food for your flight?
Do you bring food onto the plane?
Speaker 12 (01:05:55):
I get to the airport early. I've got a big
principle of mine, so then I have more than an
a time to eat before I get on the plane.
Speaker 4 (01:06:01):
Okay, are you going to do anything fun in Philadelphia
for the fourth of July?
Speaker 12 (01:06:07):
I'll probably just take a walk. Oh, probably look around.
I don't have any plans, if that's what you're asking.
Speaker 4 (01:06:12):
Well, you know, the Declaration of Independence was kind of
a big deal there in Philadelphia. I didn't know if
you were, you know, gonna go sniff that out or
I do that.
Speaker 12 (01:06:20):
Yeah, I mean, I'm not going to steal the Declaration
of Independence.
Speaker 4 (01:06:23):
D I mean, it's kind of a good idea, But
that's not the worst idea.
Speaker 12 (01:06:28):
That'd be something.
Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
What, h what's the easiest way to follow along with
everything you're You're you got tentacles all over the place
right now. The content, Yeah, the content's phenomenal. Uh, what's
the easiest way for listeners to follow along with you?
Speaker 4 (01:06:42):
Charlie.
Speaker 12 (01:06:44):
Charlie's shockboard on substack can also fund it on Fox nineteen,
Power Stacks with Bryan GESENSLAWA Red Show, The gold Standard,

Speaker 4 (01:07:00):

Pike and Awesome Elmore.
Speaker 4 (01:09:01):
Yeah, so crank up that volume now and off. Yeah,
frank him up. Thank you, Kevin. He kind of sounded
like that dude that does our Bengals promos a little bit.
Kevin got kind of deep there.
Speaker 12 (01:09:16):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:09:16):
By the way, somebody tweeted at me with our revived
Fitness Systems dot com pole question. Yeah, and they said,
fourth of July is just a date on the calendar.
I celebrate Independence Day. Dude, you just relax. Whoa Like,
obviously it's Independence Day. Sure, that's what everybody is celebrating here.
Pal is God, cranky.
Speaker 20 (01:09:38):
Man, Tony Hey, Austin Jason from Fairfield.
Speaker 21 (01:09:42):
So Jason just wanted to call and say that, uh
about the Reds game last night. I loved that when
Ecs hit that grand Slam, how Ellie was on the other.
Speaker 4 (01:09:53):
Side of the fence celebrating.
Speaker 20 (01:09:55):
I just feel like, man, that shows some confidence, or
however you want to say it, that they're building together.
I just feel that they're in a good spot and
they're building towards something special this year.
Speaker 4 (01:10:08):
Okay, DCS, I like this.
Speaker 22 (01:10:11):
Hi, Tony and Austin, Happy fourth of July. Hey, Austin,
I was listening to your thought on running. I think
it's a bad choice, Austin. I think you should look
into cycling. You're going to burn a ton of calories
and be much easier on your body. After you cycle,
(01:10:32):
go for a swim, bro it all works together, but
running is so hard on your body.
Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
Understood. Appreciate that suggestion.
Speaker 23 (01:10:44):
It's a lord from your destination in the sky. I'm
doing a little figuring and calculating and Tony probably says
the word standpoint twenty times this segment, So there's at
least five to six segments per show and the give
and take segments, so that's at least one hundred times
(01:11:08):
that Tony says the word standpoint in a show.
Speaker 6 (01:11:12):
My gosh, well.
Speaker 4 (01:11:13):
I see it differently from my I don't think you
say it twenty times per segment. I don't think so.
Thank you.
Speaker 24 (01:11:20):
Hello, this is former President Ronald again and real. Nancy
and I had a great time last night at the
Standpoints concert. They played all their big hits, including the
Red Panda Sunset. That's a song that they were accused
of plagiarizing. Anyway, Me and Nancy are now off to
meet up with Ken from the lex and his wife.
(01:11:41):
They are in Lexington for the filming of a new
episode of Love Island UK.
Speaker 4 (01:11:50):
I like it, damn it, that's funny.
Speaker 6 (01:11:52):
I like fifteen Ati, what's up a mount?
Speaker 25 (01:11:55):
Healthy Soday, Audie, closely good to forty?
Speaker 6 (01:12:00):
Actually want to rhyme? Trust me?
Speaker 25 (01:12:02):
Bro and I tried watching Love Island but that show.
Speaker 4 (01:12:06):
Actually watching it?
Speaker 25 (01:12:07):
Lord my credits for so watching a box of things.
Speaker 6 (01:12:12):
But can we talk about cees and absolute.
Speaker 4 (01:12:15):
Blast he had last night.
Speaker 6 (01:12:17):
Not that out of the park.
Speaker 25 (01:12:19):
That's what I want to see and always who they
go out?
Speaker 2 (01:12:23):
He said, Watching that show lowered my credit school. That's funny,
that's good, that is very funny.
Speaker 4 (01:12:28):
Yeah. I was told that ces home Run was picked
up on nor Ad nor ad Radar header.
Speaker 26 (01:12:34):
Tony little something off top for the holiday weekend. Come on,
mind your fingers and watch your toes, protect those kids,
and don't burn your clothes while we're at it. Don't
forget your pets because remember, if you throw it, he
might think it's time to fetch.
Speaker 4 (01:12:51):
Oh.
Speaker 26 (01:12:52):
So, no matter what you guys do and how hard
did you play, just make sure you have the safest
and happiest Independence Day everybody.
Speaker 4 (01:13:03):
It was well done for the pizza. Extremely well done.
Speaker 27 (01:13:06):
Ken the congressman from the Commonwealth of Kinentucky.
Speaker 7 (01:13:10):
Here.
Speaker 27 (01:13:11):
Since President Johnny from Mount Healthy retired, doesn't that make
Slick Willie to president now? Doesn't he automatically step in
to take over for the president?
Speaker 4 (01:13:23):
You know?
Speaker 27 (01:13:23):
I was that's the way we do it in this country.
Houde go rids and go big.
Speaker 4 (01:13:29):
It sounded like the resignation was from both of them.
Are the way Johnny. Yeah, I wasn't sure what he thanked,
uh Slick Willie. But did I tell you I ran
into Slick Willy a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, I
thought about that too. The continuation of power would suggest
that Slick Willie is now the president.
Speaker 28 (01:13:51):
Maso and bad Moon rise in sounds like troubles on
the way. Yeah, it would be earth quakes and lightening.
Watch out and dear park today. Wow, don't go out tonight?
Speaker 29 (01:14:10):
Yeah, Mike cost you your life, Maso and bad Moon
on the right.
Speaker 4 (01:14:17):
That's pretty good, really good from Jeff and Virginia. Great job.
I like mcclean's play last night.
Speaker 30 (01:14:27):
A very intelligent, great defensive player. I don't think you
see that too often from the Reds. If somebody can
maybe do a coup for the talkback president, my dad,
here's a piece of work.
Speaker 6 (01:14:45):
He would always say anything.
Speaker 4 (01:14:46):
So it's up guys.
Speaker 6 (01:14:50):
Micahonakh Tucky.
Speaker 31 (01:14:51):
Could you explain the Queen of Hearts again? I'm not
familiar with it, but I've been on fifty two before.
I might ride up to Ripley and see what it's about. Secondly,
what an unbelievable opportunity for the Reds weekend in Philly.
Just a chance to go out there and compete with
your teammates and the guys against Philly. This could be
an NL playoff preview. And lastly, do you think the
quarterback of Moler left some money on the table but
not committing before July first? Because I think if you
(01:15:12):
committed before July. First, you can broke or your O
nil deal and I subject to this new rule. This
might be he's going to the NFL MLB draft.
Speaker 4 (01:15:19):
Maybe Yeah, good point. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
And yeah, Queen of Hearts, you just gotta you gotta
pick the number that you think the queen is and
if it hits and you're in ripley on Wednesday next week,
you can win a million dollars.
Speaker 32 (01:15:31):
Baseball and Independence Day in the city where Thomas Jefferson
wrote the Declaration of Independence.
Speaker 4 (01:15:37):
That don't get any better than that.
Speaker 5 (01:15:38):
Boys.
Speaker 4 (01:15:40):
Okay, uh, it's wasn't it a couple of years ago
the Reds played in DC on the fourth of July.
Speaker 26 (01:15:46):
Yeah, hey, Tom, I believe the home run distance is
just math and physics. I'm not claiming to know the formula,
but I believe they take the launch angle and the
exit velocity. Okay, plug it into a formula and it
gets you the distance to the landing. I don't believe
the bouncing roll I counted, but I could be wrong.
(01:16:09):
So yeah, I think that's.
Speaker 4 (01:16:10):
How that's right, That's exactly correct. That's how they do it.
Speaker 33 (01:16:13):
Okay, Jim and Milf, here we go. Jim today already
dropped on my plate that I might be attracted.
Speaker 4 (01:16:23):
No, said his videos.
Speaker 33 (01:16:26):
Uh no, that's a big no across the board on men.
In the nineteen eighties, exercise shows in the morning were
mostly women, and I was in my teens. So I'll
let you figure out the rest.
Speaker 4 (01:16:43):
There's a formula for you right there. I got Jim
as Jim just a big fan of Richard Simmson. That's okay, but.
Speaker 6 (01:16:49):
Yeah, jmfd VP.
Speaker 34 (01:16:53):
Thanks at the Talk Back Nation for coming more senses
of moving on from let's call it what it is,
a very mediocre underachieving preview presidency. Masaw Moon will bring championships,
yest championships to the city of Cincinnati. Tone can attest
myself being able to take underachieving two championships as I coached.
Speaker 4 (01:17:11):
Him for being an all time under retriever to a.
Speaker 34 (01:17:13):
Two thousand and three state basketball champion. Thanks again, talk mcnation,
May God bless the USA, and.
Speaker 4 (01:17:20):
Oh wow, oh say bye bye. Didn't you play like
twenty seconds in the state title game? No, I played
a couple of minutes.
Speaker 35 (01:17:29):
Audie, Tony, this is Dick from Dayton Audi. I can't
wait to be your musical guest this Sunday. I've been
practicing for a little diddy. Listen to Sincy three sixty.
Speaker 36 (01:17:43):
A and part time Pie there.
Speaker 18 (01:17:50):
On week days ESPN fifteen thirty.
Speaker 4 (01:17:58):
Not bad, It's not bad at all. From Rodney, all right,
it's Willie Tri State area. He signed a shining birch
or chairpret.
Speaker 24 (01:18:09):
And by God them warblers are warblin.
Speaker 6 (01:18:11):
I want to which everybody, I'm very happy forth of July.
Speaker 12 (01:18:15):
And I would like to.
Speaker 17 (01:18:16):
Also state for the record that has been a truly
great honor, Sir.
Speaker 6 (01:18:21):
The Vice President and I too shall resign.
Speaker 4 (01:18:26):
Today is my last.
Speaker 14 (01:18:28):
It is, and I also nominate Kevin from as acting president.
Speaker 4 (01:18:33):
Now, if I'm not mistaken, does it not go to
the Speaker of the House. Wasn't ken from the lex
the Speaker of the House might have been the case,
I don't remember.
Speaker 37 (01:18:45):
Breaking news, President Johnny from mont Healthy has resigned amid
a storm of controversy. His presidency was plagued by rumors
of drunkenness and the looming threat of impeachment. Different talkback
President has stepped down. What does this mean for the
future of leadership in our community? Stay tuned as we
(01:19:07):
uncover the details. Behind this unprecedented.
Speaker 4 (01:19:09):
Resignation, unprecedented president. He's been unprecedented.
Speaker 15 (01:19:14):
Yeah, it's all unhappy Thursday. I just wanted to wish
you guys a happy Independence Day week Joy the time
with your friends and family, have a cookout, watch some fireworks,
maybe catch the Glitzzy Gobbler himself Joey Chestnut destroy eighty
hot dogs in ten minutes.
Speaker 4 (01:19:32):
Man, I won't be how dare you disgusting?
Speaker 15 (01:19:36):
But I hope you guys enjoy that and maybe the
Reds could get another series win. Have a good one.
Speaker 2 (01:19:43):
Okay, A little disappointed you're not going to partake in
the Nathan's but also some value.
Speaker 38 (01:19:49):
I want to want you guys are happy for the
July weekend. So well, that's for the July celebration is
you know, on the leg with Beer's American Flags House.
Speaker 5 (01:19:59):
But everywhere.
Speaker 38 (01:20:01):
As for the Reds, we're gonna sweep them this weekend,
come back and uh before the All Star we're not
gonna lose a game for the All Star back. I
feel boys woods.
Speaker 4 (01:20:13):
That would be eleven counting yesterday. Okay, I'd be in
favor of that optimistic George. Last time I was on
a boat on the fourth of July, a bald ego
flew over our boat. Our boat, you can't get any more.
I almost cried. Yeah, there was a whisper in there. Yeah,
(01:20:36):
we played again, get anything. I think I think that
whisper said, I'm gonna try this. Yeah, so if you
wanted to try the talk back on the transcription here
it says, yeah, I'll try that. So whatever. Okay, it
was our last one.
Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
Okay, we got to take a break, we got to
come back, and we got to vote on this week's
winter Yeah. Next on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station,

Network on in the studio in there? I do not.
You have to turn it on.
Speaker 6 (01:21:35):
What they got?
Speaker 4 (01:21:35):
The Twins and Marlins are playing each other right now.
There is a man behind home plate that is dressed
head to toe as a full Marlin. Oh wow, like
he has the pointy head, He's got like fins on
his hands. I've never seen anything like this. I mean,
this guy puts Tony to Tiger and Bengal Gym to shame.
(01:21:58):
I imagine it's it's warm. Well they're indoors, so right,
but yeah, you're probably still getting the sweat. I also
think I saw Marlin's man at an actual Marlins game.
Is crazy, but you wanted to check that out. That
picture for the Twins, David. October Festa is on the mound.
I got a bunch of talkbacks this week. Okay, so good.
(01:22:21):
That's gonna be hard to It's gonna be hard to
narrow down the winter.

Speaker 2 (01:24:31):
Gods feeling.
Speaker 6 (01:24:38):
Yeah, those boys are working hard every scene.
Speaker 2 (01:24:47):

Week topple benails from now all.
Speaker 4 (01:24:55):
Right, we already got them. My apologies.
Speaker 39 (01:25:00):
Hey guys, it's Tim Kirrchin here. And according to my sources,
the limitations on burial grounds have been addressed by secondary
options of green burial spaces and cremations.
Speaker 13 (01:25:13):
The fact still.
Speaker 39 (01:25:14):
Remains that burial sites are still occupied by many people,
but yet people are dying to get in there.
Speaker 4 (01:25:22):
Thank you, Tim Kirchen. That's incredible.
Speaker 28 (01:25:25):

Speaker 4 (01:26:35):
All right? Mol lowered the credit score. Yep, that's funny.
I'm going to use.
Speaker 26 (01:26:40):
Little something off top for the holiday weekend. Mind your
fingers and watch your toes. Protect those kids, and don't
burn your clothes while we're at it. Don't forget your
pets because remember, if you throw it, he might think
it's time to fetch you. So no matter what you
guys do and how hard did you play, just make
sure you have the safest and happiest Independence Day.
Speaker 4 (01:27:04):
Yeah, I'm good awaking everybody. It's beautiful, man, it's a
great ps it really is.
Speaker 28 (01:27:09):
Mayso and Bad Moon rising. Sounds like troubles on the way. Yeah,
could be earthquakes, enlightening. Watch out in dear park today.
Speaker 29 (01:27:27):
Don't go out tonight, Mike, cost you your life. Mays
and Bad Moon on the right.
Speaker 4 (01:27:36):
Man, it's good stuff. That's great now. I do think
at the end there he was incorrect. It's on the
rise and not on the right.
Speaker 2 (01:27:46):
And normally in most weeks. That's okay, right with this
many it's tough, Audie, Tony. This is Dick from Dayton, Audie.

Speaker 2 (01:28:28):
The holiday PSA that we got for the fourth uh huh,
Tim Kirkshon and Tito and the Reds in the form
of Benny and the Jets.
Speaker 4 (01:28:36):
Yeah, you know, the Tito and the Reds one made
me want to sing along yeah, and like I couldn't
help but say Tito and the Reds, so that one
has my vote. All right, let's do that one then,
all right? I think this is it.
Speaker 32 (01:28:58):
That Dayla Cruise a dogo to j Ravit, Spencer stor Travi.
Speaker 4 (01:29:06):
The Travino yours is fantastic.
Speaker 6 (01:29:09):
Tito in their legs.
Speaker 4 (01:29:20):
Gosh, that is the use of Travino.
Speaker 6 (01:29:22):
That is.
Speaker 4 (01:29:25):
That is our guy Ken, not Ken from the Les.
This is a different Ken. Uh Ken. Congratulations, man, you
are talk back Winter. I'm going to send an email
to that Gmail account that you have of vile on
your iHeart account. Congratulations. Yeah. Are we going to run
this to our three? We need to break one more time.
We have one minute, one minute to Phill before we
(01:29:48):
get to Tommy.
Speaker 2 (01:29:49):
G uh no real injury updates. Thanks to our friends
at Postman Law Injured call eight four to four Postman
Postman delivers. But Charlie really entered the red side of things.
I did think it was interesting what he had to
say about Hunter Green. Yeah, and kind of thinking maybe
he was gonna go multiple innings only through about fifteen pitches.
(01:30:10):
He's gonna throw again this weekend in Philly. I just
the more I hear, the more I'm not expecting him
back anytime soon.
Speaker 4 (01:30:19):
Yeah, I'm starting to think more like early August. After
talking to Charlie today, he could.
Speaker 2 (01:30:25):
Be wrong about that. It could be fast track in
come out in Philly and though four innings.
Speaker 4 (01:30:29):
Here's the thing that I can't get out of my
mind from a couple of weeks ago, and we talked
to Charlie. Charlie said Hunter is going through his process. Sure,
so I think he's just kind of going through what
he thinks feels good and what he thinks is best
for him and best for his body. And thankfully, starting
pitching is a strength right now, and he probably doesn't
(01:30:52):
feel like he has to chomp, you know, chomping at
the bit or the pressure to come back because everybody
is pitching pretty good in the rotation. I think that's
a good thing. But I think he's just being extra
careful to be ready to go whenever that time comes,
which I don't hate. You know, if they continue to
play down play at the level that they're at right now,
(01:31:13):
they'll be in the conversation going into August and September.
And if you get at that point, a fresh Hunter greenback.
That could be a huge lift for this team. And
maybe that bumps Chase Burns to the bullpen, which could
be a big thing that's managing his innings as well.
Speaker 2 (01:31:28):
Other news, noelve Marte again, Charlie said, maybe they get
him back this weekend.
Speaker 4 (01:31:33):
Maybe that happens.
Speaker 2 (01:31:33):
Graham ASHCAF threw about twenty pitches in a live batting
practice session on Wednesday as well, and the Reds did announce,
as did Charlie confirm that X rays on Spencer Steer's
right hand returned negative. So that's the latest from a
Red's injury report. Thanks to our friends at Postman Low
Postman Delivers. If you're injured, call eight four to four
Postman We'll be back to start off our number three

got moved up a day because we are not here
for the fourth of July on on Friday, which is tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:32:46):
So which is the fourth of July? Right?
Speaker 2 (01:32:47):
We bumped up our Friday guest today and that means
that we kick off our three with our guy covering
the voice of FC Cincinnati. I'm just all over the
place to start the third hour. Look, we said this before.
We're just looking to pick up a couple more first
downs with three o'clock hits. But we're gonna park the
bus here. Tom Glardo's gonna help us do that. He's
the voice of f C Cincinnati joining us right now.
(01:33:10):
That's pretty smooth there, Tommy.
Speaker 6 (01:33:11):
How are you have you already broken into the fourth
of July a little bit before three pm? What is
going on?
Speaker 2 (01:33:21):
I have no idea, no idea what I was trying
to even spit out there.
Speaker 4 (01:33:28):
Here we are.
Speaker 6 (01:33:28):
Let's talk f C Con today would have been sufficient. Yeah,
but yeah, here we are.
Speaker 2 (01:33:32):
I was trying to explain, you know, Tommy, that normally
we talk on Fridays, but now we're talking today. Things
are a little bit different. But regardless of how we
live here and how we land on this here, we.
Speaker 4 (01:33:44):
Are happy, happy.
Speaker 6 (01:33:47):
Before the July week weekend, whatever we're at.
Speaker 4 (01:33:49):
Good good to hear from you, Tommy. What do you
put on your hot dogs?
Speaker 28 (01:33:54):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (01:33:54):
Nothing?
Speaker 4 (01:33:56):
What do you? What do you mean on hot dogs?
Speaker 25 (01:34:00):
I go?
Speaker 6 (01:34:00):
Nothing, on sausages, Broughts, I go, Uh stadium mustard from Cleveland,
the original Cleveland Stadium mustard, the Brown Mark guy.
Speaker 12 (01:34:13):
I go.
Speaker 6 (01:34:13):
But but for whatever reason, I don't put on my
hot dogs and I don't. I mean, I'm sure I
would enjoy it. I don't know. Man, strange dude.
Speaker 4 (01:34:20):
Sometimes listen, Tommy, don't let any other explainings. First of all,
don't let him bully you. To each their own.
Speaker 6 (01:34:26):
But what you don't bully me, I'm just explaining. I'm
just trying to put a rhyme or reason to my ways.
Speaker 2 (01:34:31):
Now what this holiday weekend does give us for FC
Cincinnati is actually a home match.
Speaker 4 (01:34:38):
You don't have to travel.
Speaker 2 (01:34:39):
It's a Saturday UH game against Chicago, which means that you,
I guess, get to be home for the Fourth of July.
Do you have any big Fourth of July plans for
tomorrow with the family.
Speaker 6 (01:34:51):
I'm going to go to the UH I think they
called they called the Red, White and Boom out at
UH River Bend. Wow. The Cincinnti Pops plays all the picture.
They have a big fireworks display out there. Have never
been when I was growing up up in Cleveland. Just
outside of Cleveland, they have a similar venue to Riverband
called Blossom Music Center, and UH the Cleveland Orchestra would
(01:35:15):
do the same thing, or their symphony orchestra whatever would
do a Fourth of July contut my parents often took us.
We'd sit on the lawn and have some sandwiches. I
mean it's back when foot longs were actually five dollars,
and you know, you'd sit out there and have some
food with your family and watch the fireworks and it
was a nice night. So we decided, because I'm here
and not traveling and it all works out, why don't
(01:35:38):
we do something as a family. We don't have any
extracurricular sports. So yeah, that's what we're gonna do. What
about yourself, Tony? Are you barbecuing? Is the grill going
to be going?
Speaker 2 (01:35:46):
You know, I think it's gonna it's gonna entel little
Reds on the radio, a little pool time and let
the others grill.
Speaker 4 (01:35:52):
I don't need to be grilling. I'll be in the
pool with the kids.
Speaker 5 (01:35:54):
But you have a pool.
Speaker 4 (01:35:56):
No, our in laws have a pool.
Speaker 6 (01:35:58):
Oh how have I've never been invited? Not that far away?
Speaker 2 (01:36:02):
And yeah, all right, now, lastly, before before we get
enough c Cincinnati, will you partake in watching the Nathan's
Hot Dog getting contest?
Speaker 6 (01:36:14):
Possibly, though probably not, honestly, I do.
Speaker 4 (01:36:20):
That has nothing to do.
Speaker 6 (01:36:21):
With my lack and hold on, hold on, there's nothing
to do my lack of desire. Let me take it
through my day. I gotta go to training first.
Speaker 4 (01:36:26):
And foremost, because I have to work tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (01:36:28):
People.
Speaker 4 (01:36:29):
Wow, I had to get rid of man.
Speaker 6 (01:36:32):
So I'm gonna go to the facility and and see
what the team is up to and getting ready for
this match, which we'll talk about at.
Speaker 4 (01:36:38):
Some point maybe and then and then.
Speaker 6 (01:36:42):
I'm gonna I'm gonna go to the pool as well,
but not my pool because I don't have a pool.
I'm gonna go to the pool that I belong to and.
Speaker 4 (01:36:50):
Damn, wow, I know you can. He's not trying to either.
Speaker 6 (01:36:54):
Yess ridiculous. And then after I get a little bit
of pool time in with some of our faithful listeners,
hopefully i'll see them there a popular day and then
I will turn it around. And yeah, even last week,
somebody told me they were listening to they enjoy me. Uh,
they enjoy us together on a show every week. So
at the pool, they told me when I was there
last Sunday. So I'm gonna get that in. Then I'm
(01:37:17):
gonna go to this uh this event at a river
been so I don't Okay, I probably won't won't watch
it because I'm gonna be tied up, okay, and lay
by the pool and chill out a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:37:25):
Let's talk about the unfortunate news that started the day,
a h an injury for FC Cincinnati to a key
contributor that's going to require surgery. Uh, talk about uh
Obie's injury status and talk about what this means for
the team going forward.
Speaker 6 (01:37:41):
Yeah, I mean, unfortunately, he kind of had a bad
feeling last week, just by the tone of Pat Newton's
statements and the way he talked to us before the
game last week, and just an uncertainty around obeing a
Wilbedoese availability and and when he would be available again.
And now we have learned that the injury is obviously
the serious and that he has to undergo surgery for
(01:38:05):
the quad injury that he suffered a couple of weeks ago.
And man, this is a really tough blow. They missed
him for a handful of games with a hamstring injury
earlier this year, he missed six games, came back for
Hell is Real and it had been working his way
really back to his peak form. And Pat newonan said
that today because he really was in a good place
(01:38:28):
with the way that he was performing. And Obi's out
Bien on the team for three years. You remember he
came in in April of twenty two, Pat's first season,
and immediately you were like, he's one of the best
midfielders in the league. I think it took officials a
little while to figure out his style of play and
the fact that often he was winning challenges where it
looked like he fouled guys, but he didn't and he
(01:38:49):
probably got called for some files the first year or
two that shouldn't have been called because he's just so skillful.
I mean, there's times and it's probably my favorite obi
play is when he maybe misses on the initial tackle
but then catches up to you and just dispossesses the ball.
He's a joy to watch. He's a very good, strong,
(01:39:12):
quiet leader for this team on and off the pitch,
and I think it's just just greatly disappointing that they're
going to miss that piece now for a couple of months,
you know, and the hope seems to be that it
will not be the remainder of the season, what three
and a half months till the regular season ends, So
(01:39:32):
hopefully he is back, you know, at some point to
help this team win games. But for the foreseeable future,
you know, number five is not going to be involved,
and that's a really tough blow for the Orange and Blue.
Speaker 2 (01:39:43):
Can you replace him currently with and I know they will,
with how the roster is constructed, or does that become
a priority now for this organization looking to make an addition.
Speaker 6 (01:39:53):
I mean, I think in the short term, sure, you're
going to see Brian Nunga playing in that role, and
Brian's done well this year and filling in. I mean,
he has ten starts, so it's not like you're bringing
a guy in who hasn't seen many minutes. Nine hundred
and sixty one minutes. He's actually played more minutes than Obie.
Has the same number of starts as Obi this season.
(01:40:13):
He's obviously not an identical player, but they brought him
in to be the death piece behind Obi and Buca
and give those guys some rotation or when they had
the mix miss games. Have a veteran. Nunga's been around
the league one hundred and twenty six appearances. He has
sixty six starts. He was Nashville for a while. You know,
f C. Cu Chanis fans will remember him if you
go all the way back to the USL days when
(01:40:36):
he was with Charleston and we would see him in
those matchups against the Orange and Blue when the club
was in the USL. So I think in the short
term Brian and Nunga will be the answer to fill
in there. And then the window opens July twenty fourth,
so that's three weeks from today. So many players, I mean,
they could announce the signing today, They could announce it
tomorrow or next week. The player would not be eligible
(01:40:58):
until July twenty fourth. I have to get through this
stretch of games with what you have. U Yakubo could
play there as well, but of course he's out with
a nagging ankle injury as well. So I think it's
Brian and Nunga right now. But I think if you
look at what Chris Albright was trying to bring in
July twenty fourth, that list just got adjusted, and defensive
(01:41:21):
midfielder probably he's at the top of it.
Speaker 2 (01:41:23):
I look at the way the team has dealt with
a lot through the part of the season leading up
to now, there was some positives. Thing continues to build
on that. Matt ma Osga spoke about how good he's feeling,
and that has to be for this team, especially on
the defensive side of the ball. Such a welcome edition.
The more and more comfortable mi Oska gets back there.
Speaker 6 (01:41:45):
Yeah, absolutely, because let's remember he was twenty twenty three
Defender of the Year and his season was cut short.
In following that up in twenty twenty four, he didn't
make it through the month of June, so you know,
working his way back from any injury, let alone a
season ending injury a big deal. And he has been
rock solid I think for the most part, especially the
last few matches, as we've seen his form come, you know,
(01:42:07):
truly back to what he is capable of, and he's
doing it right now. No, Miles Robinson, who's an All Star.
Miles will be back after this USA Mexico match over
the weekend, so we'll see him for Hell is Real,
which is great news. Get him back into the fold.
And he's doing it without Nick Haglan right now. And
those three were playing really well together before Nick got
hurt at Miles left with the national team, so you know,
(01:42:29):
some reinforcements are coming to help out matt here. But yeah,
it's been It's been great to see because let's be
honest with anybody really in life, when when you have
a serious injury, you don't know exactly how you're going
to return from it, and if you can reach that
form and be as good as maybe you were in
twenty twenty three, well, I think Matty Ask is proving
that he can be and that that injury is not
(01:42:52):
slowing him down at all, which is obviously a major
boost for what the Orange and Blue are trying to accomplish.
Speaker 2 (01:42:58):
Talk a little bit before we get into the cargo,
and I know we have throughout the year, but I
think the term that Pat Nowan used as it relates
to Evander was the bridge in the locker room. How
impressive have you been with a player that comes in
with big shoes to fill for a club in FC
Cincinnati and has not only filled those shoes but has
been one of the best in the MLS at doin
(01:43:19):
it consistently all year. Where is this team out without Evander?
Speaker 6 (01:43:23):
Well, they're certainly not one point back of the Eastern
Conference and the supporter shield leaders Philadelphia Union. He's been remarkable.
Kevin and I started the broadcast last week in Orlando
about talking about his MVP candidacy, and you know, was
he potentially the leading candidate for MVP. He was in
the conversation last year. He now has eighteen goal contributions
(01:43:47):
this year, is tied with Kevin Dank with eleven goals.
I mean the pace at which he is contributing goals
Across his MLS career. He has seventy three appearances in
sixty nine starts and he has sixty six goal contribution,
so it's essentially contributing to one goal on average every
game since he came over about two years ago to
(01:44:08):
Major League Soccer. So he had a great run, you
know with Portland, came over to Cincinnati and the team. Listen,
we all knew that those boots were going to be
big to fill of Lucco Acosta and that someone was
gonna have to step in and be the playmaker that
Luco was. And it's not a like for like replacement.
They're different players and have different strengths. But man, he
(01:44:31):
has been everything that you can dream of in being
able to replace Lucco, and you know, deservedly. We'll go
to the All Star Game. I saw today that he's
he's one of the four candidates to be captained. It's
a vote, a fan vote, so I think we all
know that Lionel Messi will probably be the captain, but
should for the other three guys who are are nominated.
(01:44:52):
But at Ccincati fans and get on the vote and
try to try to influence that and get a Vander
of the armband. But I think that listen, he has
been everything that they've asked for and maybe a little
bit more than they expected when he arrived.
Speaker 2 (01:45:09):
Tell me about the Chicago Fire here. I know that
they have played I believe, one less match than FC Cincinnati,
but they do possess a positive gold differential. There are
eleven points behind FC Cincinnati in the standings. Give me
a little bit about Chicago coming into TQL on Saturday.
Speaker 6 (01:45:26):
Yeah, Tony, their team. They can score a bunch of
goals right now, thirty eight goals scored. That's third most
in Major League Soccer. And this is a team that's
sitting at third or sorry, eighth place in the league
right with those thirty eight goals, So eight place puts
them in that wild card spot at the moment. But
think about that. FC Sinanas's second place thirty nine points.
(01:45:47):
You have Chicago in eighth place with twenty eight points,
so eleven point difference in sans gold differentials plus five
Chicago's plus four. But they've had a couple of lopsided
wins in their favor. They just pummeled DC United a
couple of weeks ago, seven to one in DC. They've
been very good on the road this season six to four,
(01:46:07):
and oh is second most road wins in all of
Major League Soccer. The only team who has more road
wins is that season Tonati was seven. And they've obviously
played a lot of road games so far, so they
they've proven tricky a couple of times. They've come into
TQL Stadium. You know, I think, what's the number three
one and two. I think we're down somewhere here. Yeah,
(01:46:29):
three one and two is Chicago and the game's played
in Cincinnati's owned Blue have only won once against them
in the Queen City. Obviously, Greg Burholter. Everybody knows about
Greg as the head coach and what he brings. That
they have an All Star in uh Phillip Zinkernagel, who
has come in from Denmark eight goals, eight assists this season.
(01:46:52):
You know, they have a very potent offense. Hugo Kuiper's
much like Kevin Dankas scratching your head and wondering what
he has the new do to get into the All
Star Game. Kuiper's not there, came out there. They each
have eleven goals on the season, so there's a They
are very talented and the defense is going to be
very tested. You know, reports today that that Teenagery dab
(01:47:13):
a little bit hobbled, you know, Hilberta Flores. Uh, you know,
pretend it wasn't that training. So I think that I'll
be interested. Like I said, I'll be training them all
to see. Hopefully those guys are out there. You know,
Thursday rest day doesn't mean they can't go, but that
fly Cincinnati's gonna need to, uh, you know, really clamp
down defensively to make sure that they're ready for this matchup.
Speaker 2 (01:47:33):
How much does the match they just played against Orlando help?
Because I remember last week asking you the same question
and you talked about how good Orlando had been offensively.
I was very impressed with what the defense of FC.
Since now they was able to do. So, how much
can you take from that against a very good offensive
team when you had to do it on the road
and bring it now back home to Tiquos Stadium.
Speaker 6 (01:47:53):
Yeah, I think the hope is that that can be
the boost you need, right, that can be you know,
the confidence booster that you would expect from having a
really strong performance against Orlando and not getting punished by
their potent attack. And now you got to come home
and do it. And you know, we've talked about the
last couple of weeks. Guys, this three mats road swing
(01:48:13):
is over. So now you're staring down the barrel nine
to fourteen regular season games remaining being at home. So
playing it simple, t Qosaitium has to be a fortress.
And where does that start. It starts with being really
strong defensively, So the guys who are in front of
Roman selling time will have to be good. Roman has
to be really good, and the team as a whole
will have to be good. And they're gonna miss one
(01:48:34):
of their defensive leaders and it'll be in a wilbedo.
You know who's right in front of that defensive back line.
The whole unit's gonna have to be ready. Chicago will
give you headaches and they can score goals and bunches.
So yeah, they're they're gonna have to be strong and
hope certainly they can build upon that victory in Orlando.
Speaker 2 (01:48:51):
Tommy g the Voice of FC Cincinnati, we certainly appreciate
your time and for fitness in on a Thursday, enjoy
the holiday weekend, and enjoy the call on on Saturday night,
and let's get three more.
Speaker 5 (01:49:02):
Yeah, you guys do the same.
Speaker 6 (01:49:04):
Let's keep the rowling and there'll be plenty more to
talk about next week.
Speaker 2 (01:49:08):
I'm not going to try to do anything fancy to
close this out. I'm gonna just that's Tom Galli. He
is the voice to break FC Cincinnati. We'll be back
with more on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
Speaker 1 (01:49:21):
On ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
Welcome back since three to sixty ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati
Sports Station.
Speaker 4 (01:49:42):
Thanks to Penn Station, Tony. We have a bit of
a development in the Luis or Tees investigation. Chanting Huh,
the Guardian's right hander gambling is apparently being investigated, according
to Jeff Passing, the ESPN and David Purdham, for two pitches,
two individual pitches. One happened June fifteenth against Seattle, in
(01:50:04):
another June twenty seventh against Saint Louis. The first it
was sent in from a betting integrity firm called IC
three to sixty, pretty similar to SINCY three to six.
They sent two alerts to sports sportsbook operators regarding or tease.
The first alert, according to sources reviewed him, was the
(01:50:27):
first pitch Ortez's first pitch against the Mariners in the
bottom of the second inning to be a ball or hits,
hit hit batsman, he said, stuttering. There was a bunch
of money apparently that came in on that Ortez opened
the inning with a slider well outside the strike zone.
(01:50:49):
The second alert sent June twenty seventh, reference or tez
first pitch against the Cardinals in the top of the
third inning to be a ball or hit hit batsman
or tease open that inning with a slider even farther
outside the strike zone. Apparently those alerts flagged bets in Ohio,
New York, and New Jersey. Now I've told you this
(01:51:11):
in the past. Pitch bets are like my favorites to do,
especially before a game, first pitch strike. I love doing
that for the World Series. Like it's just a dumb,
little micro bet, But apparently it is about two individual
pitches that sent off alerts that notified Major League Baseball.
Speaker 2 (01:51:30):
In the sports, that's one thing you don't want to
be tied to in sports is cheating. No, you know,
whether you're an individual or you're a team.
Speaker 4 (01:51:37):
And even you know something like that, Ultimately, does it
affect the outcome of the game that much? No, probably not.
But that's again it's example of like being able to
just sneak through, you know, slip through the cracks. People
think they can do it, but you can't. Like these
guys are under like this is their business. Ye crazy.
(01:52:00):
Is there any other cheating allegations? That's funny? You should
ask tone because I just saw this while you were
talking to Tommy. This came across my timeline. And this
is a clip from Pardon My take the Barstool Sports
podcast where they had Diamondbacks pictures Merrill, Kelly and Zach
(01:52:21):
Gallon on the show. And just take a listen to
what they say about the Reds, and quite frankly, take
a listen to the language they use about the Reds.
Where's your least favorite place to pitch? Not taking out
Colorado because that's an easy answer.
Speaker 6 (01:52:36):
Cincinnati's tough.
Speaker 4 (01:52:37):
That's what I was going to. Cincinnati's ball flies in
the mound.
Speaker 41 (01:52:42):
I know, I know they're supposed to have regulations on
how high the mound is, but whatever they're doing, they're.
Speaker 4 (01:52:47):
Cheating for sure. What do you mean it's way lower?
That mound is so flat and you have to look
into that. That's crazy. Like our mound at home feels
like a mountain compared to Cincinnati, And you can notice
right away when you stand on you can see.
Speaker 41 (01:53:02):
It from like, that's a flat That mount is flat.
Speaker 4 (01:53:05):
Why would they do that? My guess is like their
pictures are like this sucks. I have the picture all
the time.
Speaker 41 (01:53:11):
Well, if you think about like they could then try
to acquire the pitches, pitchers that like pitch best on
that type of mound, like sinker ballers or whatever it
is that works on that mound. Yeah, they'd be like,
all right, we're gonna stick with these guys because it
benefits them, but it's.
Speaker 4 (01:53:24):
Really worth Yeah, that's crazy. What whoa whoa Meryl Keller?
What Meryl Kelly. So whatever they're doing, they're cheating for sure.
Speaker 26 (01:53:34):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (01:53:35):
Zach Gallon pitched at Great American Ballpark on June eighth,
gave up three homers. Oh boy, so is this just
a little bit salty because the red Legs took him deep?
Meryl Kelly, You know, if you look up Major League
Baseball mound regulations, mound obviously sixty feet six inches from
(01:53:58):
home plate. The mound slopes downward from the rubber, with
a decrease of one inch in elevation for every foot
of distance toward home plate. The mound is an eighteen
foot diameter, But I don't see anything about mound height.
Speaker 2 (01:54:20):
I know that in nineteen sixty nine, Major League Baseball
lowered the mound, right, They lowered it, and it led
to an increase in offense, so teams scored more runs.
Speaker 4 (01:54:31):
So it did hurt the pitchers.
Speaker 2 (01:54:33):
So maybe there is something there that by lowering said
mound it puts pictures at a disadvantage.
Speaker 4 (01:54:41):
So if you go to major League Baseball dot com
and look at the field dimensions tab, it says no
major League ballparks are exactly alike, but certain aspects of
the field of play must be uniform across baseball. This
is what it says on the actual website. It says
the picture's plate must be twenty four inch by six
(01:55:03):
inch slab of white and rubber that is ten inches
above the level of home plate and sixty feet six
inches away from the back point of home plate. Yes,
so it just has to be ten inches above the
level of home plate, Okay. It is placed eighteen inches
behind the center of the mound, which is erected within
(01:55:24):
an eighteen foot diameter circle and surrounded by a level
area that is five feet by thirty four inches. The
slope of the mound begins six inches in front of
the picture's plate and must gradually decrease by one inch
every foot for six feet in the direction of home plate.
Speaker 2 (01:55:48):
So the present height at highest is ten inches. That's
how I understand it. But it doesn't feel like there's
a spot where you can't go any lower. It just
feels like you can't eclipse ten inches. Right, we had
to get some MLB rules experts going cheating allegations.
Speaker 4 (01:56:06):
Six inch slab of white and rubber that is ten
inches above the level of home plate. Wow, those aren't
just there doesn't say it doesn't say a minimum of
ten inches, right, Those aren't just weak allegations to throw around,
he said, they are cheating for sure. Also, could this
(01:56:26):
help us pitch better? Maybe if we get that figured
out both forget the reds are being sued, the groundscrews
being sued by the whole That dude, they used to
play for the Brewers. Yep, not good man. I don't
want to you know, this is dangerous. This is not good.
This is dangerous. But there I mean that this surely
isn't exactly how it's outlined. In the rule book, you
(01:56:47):
wouldn't think, but it doesn't say that there's a minimum.
This is something we're gonna have to research my tripping.
Should we call Chris Welsh? We might? You might have
to research this this weekend. Get some answers. Can somebody
at the Reds reach us? I know you're listening. I
know you guys, listen. I know you're listening.
Speaker 6 (01:57:07):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:57:08):
Speaking of listening, JT's listening to us for a while.
He wants to say something. Let's see what he's got
to say before we go to a break. I JT's
go on, guys.
Speaker 4 (01:57:17):
Yes, sir, you too, Tony Uh.
Speaker 9 (01:57:21):
Thirteen years ago, almost to the day, I hit a
wedding reception at the Dakery Deck. I have a few
docory deck questions for you please. First of all, which
is your favorite dockery deck location? Number two? What is
your go to dakery at the Bakery Deck? And third
question is do you get a free dakery every time
(01:57:41):
you mentioned dockery Deck on air?
Speaker 4 (01:57:43):
I've never received a free dakery, so that illegal?
Speaker 40 (01:57:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:57:48):
They man, they I am a fan of the og,
which to me is in csta Key Village. Now they
just built another one like two miles away. That's very Uh,
it's like a high rise you could see at the
top and see the ocean. But I like the village
Dockery Deck. I was a fan of the grape ape
(01:58:08):
the grape dockery flavor, and as of last year, they
didn't have the grape flavoring anymore. Oh no, Now I
think I'm gonna lean with the deck diesel when we
head down there.
Speaker 6 (01:58:23):
The diesel solid choice, solid choice.
Speaker 13 (01:58:26):
Thanks for the advice, but he didn't have a great vacation.
Speaker 4 (01:58:28):
JT. Thank you. I appreciate you calling man. Will you
be will you be posting videos? I'll post something for
some sort of selfie. Absolutely? Are you gonna do like
the hair long again? You did that the last time.
I don't think so. Which day you want me to
just do it every day I'm there?
Speaker 2 (01:58:45):
No, I want you to be able to unplug. I
just want at least one. Okay, Well, get one.
Speaker 4 (01:58:50):
It's it's less about me and more about the people.
The people need to see that. You'll get plenty.
Speaker 41 (01:58:55):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:58:55):
Well, you have act for me because I'm not gonna
make it down there. Because Dylan Fairchild is gonna start
on opening days. Dana Whites actually got him on a contract.

Speaker 4 (02:00:52):
We have clarification on the mound to dilemma Austin, what
do you got? I got clarification. When I have questions,
I ask them, and so I went to our guy, Charlie.
I said, Charlie, do you know anything about this? He said,
this is a well known thing. It's a low mound.
It's been checked and renovated and approved by Major League Baseball,
(02:01:17):
including some reds as a part of the process. Part
of it is that it feels low for whatever reason.
He said that the Dodgers mound is known for feeling high,
but apparently it all comes back to the way it feels.
But legally it's by the book of Major League Baseball.
So Merrill, Kelly, before you go throwing around words like cheating, Merrilly,
(02:01:42):
don't you check the book real quick.
Speaker 2 (02:01:46):
This is a kind of a tease for what we're
going to get into kind of next week for the
Cincinnati Bengals as we get closer to training camp. Pro
Football on Network Austin ranked the NFL defensive coordinators. They
ranked Al Golden fourteenth. That's pretty good for Al. He's
never been a defensive coordinator. Yeah, and they have him
(02:02:08):
at fourteenth. I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat.
That's what Pro Football Network says.
Speaker 4 (02:02:13):
If his defense is ranked fourteenth, the Bengals might be thinking, soupy, yep,
how about what the stats say about Joe Burrow.
Speaker 2 (02:02:18):
Listen to this. This was from Warren Sharp. He labeled
it as the most brutal stat that you'll read. Joe
Burrow has been blitzed at the lowest. That the lowest,
the number one lowest rate of any quarterback in the
last four years. Meaning defenses don't blitz Joe Burrow. But
he has been hit within two and a half seconds
(02:02:39):
of snap at the number one highest rate. That is amazing,
blitz the lowest. He's been hit within two point five
the highest.
Speaker 4 (02:02:49):
It's almost unfathomable.
Speaker 2 (02:02:51):
He's been hit within two point five seconds twenty five
percent more than number two on the list.
Speaker 25 (02:02:56):
What is that?
Speaker 4 (02:03:00):
We'll discuss more blame that on. Frank Pollock discussed.
Speaker 2 (02:03:02):
More of that next week, and there was a Mike
Florio update Pro Football talk about the Bengals and the
agreement within Shamar Stuart. Florio writes, quote, Cincinnati's agreement applies
if the player sustains a disabling NFL football related injury,
and then Florida writes, at least one other team removes
the phrase disabling, which introduces ambiguity. There you go, yeah,
(02:03:28):
and potentially an avenue for the team lawyering their way
out of a deal. Interesting Apparently, according to Florio, that
is one of the hold ups d for the representation
of cham Do you remember what years said, God, no, No,
couldn't tell you a thing, which I searned that thing.
Speaker 4 (02:03:42):
So quick yours was technically disabling. Right, yeah, I probably
got screwed on mind. Did you have an injury settlement?
I did.
Speaker 2 (02:03:49):
That's what's so you got your money, not what I
should have. That's where I messed up. Long story short,
if I could go back in time and do it again,
I would have never never signed the injury settlement, okay,
because my rehab, in my injury, I would essentially been
paid another full season on the active roster. Oh shoot,
I signed the settlement thinking I would get back quicker,
I would have a chance to rejoin the team. And
(02:04:11):
once you signed that injury settlement, they literally they don't
have any responsibility to you.
Speaker 4 (02:04:15):
As well, zero legal as well. So if you I
couldn't go behind that, you would have stayed in Carolina rehabbing.
Speaker 2 (02:04:20):
I have stayed and rehabbed, and by the length of
the rehab in which it took, I would have been
rehabbing all year and kind of recouped all that money.
Speaker 4 (02:04:27):
Did you sign before or after the injury settlement? Before
or after? Cam Newton was drafted before? So that was
probably their plan to bring me in and then once
they saw when, well, it would have been a camp
battle besween you and Cam. Yeah, I would imagine. Other
AFC North News Steelers announced they signed gm Omar Khan
to a three year contract that keep him with the
(02:04:49):
team through at least the twenty twenty eight season, basically saying, Hey, Omar,
we know we're just kind of doing whatever Aaron wants,
so you take the year off. We're not going to
blame you if this goes south. Are you here on
Friday next week? Yes? You are here. Oh fantastic. I'd
like to do a little self promotion if you don't mind, please,
(02:05:10):
I'm gonna be on the Sunday morning sports talk show
on seven hundred WLW again this Sunday from nine am
to noon, and I'm really excited about nine to thirty
five am. Gonna talk with John or Josh Kendall from
The Athletic. He's a beat reporter that covers the Falcons,
but he wrote an article this week about a I
(02:05:35):
and it's impact growing impact in the National Football League
like that. So I'm gonna talk to Josh Kendall a
little bit about that. James is gonna stop by a well,
Dick is welcome. I don't know if he's gonna be
on the show. I don't know if I'm gonna have
time for him, but Dick is welcome. And then I
want to talk about the secondary with James. Repeat. You
(02:05:56):
know he's big on Dax Hill. I'm big on the secondary.
See if we can figure some things out there. Nine
to noon, seven hundred WL. I'm big on chatting with Moagar.
We'll do that next for quick hits on ESPN fifteen
thirty Cincinnati Sports.
Speaker 1 (02:06:08):
Station, Cincy three sixty continues on ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati's
sports station.
Speaker 2 (02:06:16):
It's time for six Yes, thanks depend thanks for listening.
Speaker 4 (02:06:21):
Moe's here.
Speaker 2 (02:06:21):
He's getting ready to take over the next three hours
for The Molager Show on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station. U, Mo,
what's going on? What are you got coming up today?
Speaker 5 (02:06:30):
What percentage of people are working right now?
Speaker 4 (02:06:34):
It's a small percent.
Speaker 5 (02:06:35):
I mean we have essential workers and working first responders.
I get it that foots out the door.
Speaker 4 (02:06:41):
Yeah. Do you do you prefer the fourth of July
on a Friday or a Monday Friday?
Speaker 5 (02:06:47):
Me too, Yeah, because yeah, I mean yesterday felt like Friday.
Speaker 4 (02:06:52):
Yeah, I did. Today's show definitely felt like that.
Speaker 5 (02:06:55):
How about next year America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday
unbelievable on a Saturday, unbelieved. It's going to be incredible. Yeah, amazing.
Some Reds victories count as one. Some feel like they
count as more. Last night is one that felt like
you counted for more. We'll discuss. I started following the
Reds forty one years ago. I can remember the first
(02:07:16):
Reds game I went to, really yeah. Vern Rapp was
the manager, and over the course of those forty one years,
you know, sometimes the Reds have good teams. Sometimes the
Reds have bad teams. Sometimes the Reds have a lot
of really good players. Sometimes the Reds don't have a
lot of really good players. Sometimes they have a good manager,
sometimes they don't. Regardless, though, one thing has been a
(02:07:38):
constant for my entire life, and it continues to this
day as it relates to the Reds. I'll tell you
what it is. Coming up at four h five. Sometimes
in life, you have to ask is this battle worth fighting?
Speaker 4 (02:07:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:07:51):
Anybody who's ever been married could tell you that. Let's
just ask the Bengals that about Shamar Stewart, Tyler Terrence
from mL s'son Pass is going to join us. I
need someone to explain to me because tomorrow is a
sports talk radio staple, competitive eating. Yes, so you get
all the bros who are like, dude, I could eat
forty seven hot dogs in two minutes.
Speaker 6 (02:08:12):
Sure.
Speaker 5 (02:08:13):
I have never understood a phenomenon less than the hot
dog eating contest. I am disgusted.
Speaker 4 (02:08:19):
You just killed Austin. Well, apparently you're not alone. Our
reffitnessystems dot com poll question which is the best part
about the fourth of July? Only four percent say the
hot dog eating contest, sixty percent say grilling out, twenty
five percent say fireworks.
Speaker 2 (02:08:33):
It's a sweet spot tomorrow because you could find a pool. Yeah,
you could find a grill, and you get the Reds
on the radio at one o'clock. Yeah, Now, when's the
hot dog contest? I believe that's at high noon. Don't
act like you don't know.
Speaker 5 (02:08:46):
I honestly don't know what's come into July. Bad Lands Booker,
bad Lands Booker can chug me Joey chestnuts in it right.
Speaker 2 (02:08:53):
Yeah, he's gonna keep going to No, he's not retiring either.
Retirement would be death.
Speaker 18 (02:08:57):
Who was I with?
Speaker 5 (02:08:58):
I was somewhere recently and Joe.
Speaker 4 (02:09:00):
He's been in Cincinnati.
Speaker 5 (02:09:01):
Was at a Reds game?
Speaker 12 (02:09:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (02:09:02):
He was?
Speaker 4 (02:09:03):
And he was at the Holy Grail Austin.
Speaker 12 (02:09:06):
Was I with you?
Speaker 4 (02:09:07):
I don't think would have been getting pictures with him?
Speaker 10 (02:09:09):
Who?
Speaker 5 (02:09:09):
Well, whoever I was with was like, dude, that guy's
like my hero.
Speaker 4 (02:09:13):
Yeah, it's something I would say.
Speaker 12 (02:09:16):
I don't get it.
Speaker 4 (02:09:17):
It's just crazy.
Speaker 5 (02:09:18):
I don't to me when I watch people do that.
Speaker 4 (02:09:21):
Can you watch that in the Go Gorilla a couple
of dogs.
Speaker 5 (02:09:22):
No, I get sick. I like watching somebody eat like
that makes me nauseous.
Speaker 4 (02:09:28):
Yeah. Do you know what makes me nauseous?
Speaker 41 (02:09:30):
Me?
Speaker 4 (02:09:31):
No? Did you see this?
Speaker 2 (02:09:32):
Did you see the stat this week from Warren Sharp
about Joe Burrow I did all the blitzing. I can't
fathom that has been blitzed the least amount in the
last four years and pressured under two and a half
seconds the most, more than the next closest quarterback.
Speaker 5 (02:09:45):
I'm not sure there's a more damning indictment against what
the Bengals offensive line has been and what they have
failed to do this offseason. Yeah, you guys have talked
about it a lot. I think most of us are
just sort of glossing over the offensive line.
Speaker 6 (02:09:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:09:58):
I think most of us are just sort of a
it's going to be at least Okay.
Speaker 2 (02:10:01):
I think there's an assumption that Mims is just gonna
be like there are sophomore slumps, Yeah, that happened. There
are teams. Yeah, every team around the league is game
planning now strengths and weaknesses.
Speaker 5 (02:10:10):
He showed flashes, but the league and it's like with
Chase Burns right right, first time for that Yankee batting order,
piece of cake suddenly a little bit different. So the
league has a fair amount of tape on Marius Mims that, frankly,
they really didn't have in college. So I'm interested. I
just I'm dying to watch Joe Burrow play behind a
great offensive line and they haven't had one in ten years. Yeah,
(02:10:31):
but can you imagine Joe Burrow, Like the last really
good offensive line that Bengals had was fifteen Andy Dalton,
you know, was awesome.
Speaker 4 (02:10:38):
That year.
Speaker 5 (02:10:39):
Can you imagine Joe Burrow behind that?
Speaker 4 (02:10:40):
My goodness?
Speaker 5 (02:10:41):
But what was that offensive line? There was a lot
of guys who had taken early in the draft. Hall
of Famer and Andrew Whitworth, Andrew Andre Smith was a
first round pick, Clint Bowling, Kevin Zeitler was a first
round pick. I just I'm dying to watch what Joe
Burrow could do behind a great offensive line, and I
guess we're never going to see it.
Speaker 2 (02:10:57):
Yeah, it feels like the thorough process for the Knicks
is ending. What do you make of Mike Brown?
Speaker 5 (02:11:04):
I think it's a good hire, Okay, I think he's
a good hire as coached in a big market. He's
been a Coach of the Year before. He's twice, Yeah, twice.
I think on the I think how then the way
it unfolded with how they fired Tom Thibodeau and then
what their plan was to replace him made them look stupid.
But I do think contrary to their brand and look, man,
(02:11:27):
they have been a train wreck for most of my life.
The last four or five years, they've been a well run,
well thought out organization, and so this certainly isn't an
impulse higher right, there is a feeling of regurgitation because
the NBA, it's like everybody gets, you know, eight cracks
at it. But they could have done worse. Sure, And frankly,
I think he was a more interesting option than some
(02:11:49):
of the guys who have jobs that they were interested in.
Speaker 4 (02:11:51):
Will he bring Russell Westbrook?
Speaker 5 (02:11:54):
I hope not. I'm not a Russell Westbrook guy.
Speaker 2 (02:11:57):
The great news from yesterday is that Panda was released
from the hospital just a broken wrist. Did suffer a
broken risk? Do you worry though the mental side of it?
Speaker 4 (02:12:05):
Long term?
Speaker 2 (02:12:06):
Now getting back up on that that unicycle, Well, I
got to think now if like let's say you're Blue Panda,
like is this next your time?
Speaker 5 (02:12:13):
Like does she have like a study? Like there can't
be may Well, if I was smart, which I'm not,
I would go, Okay, Blue Panda is going to retire
one day. But there's always going to be a market
for somebody riding a tall unicycle who can balance balls
on her head.
Speaker 4 (02:12:29):
Yeah, and do you change it up?
Speaker 5 (02:12:31):
Like you really don't have to, Like there's always going
to be an appetite for that. Has somebody been waiting
in the wings?
Speaker 4 (02:12:37):
Now?
Speaker 5 (02:12:37):
The good news is it's kind of the basketball offseason.
Speaker 26 (02:12:39):
I know she was.
Speaker 5 (02:12:40):
She was doing a thing at a w NBA game,
but college basketball is months away, the NBA is months away.
Big Three, But like, this is an opportunity if you're like,
you know what, Redpand is my hero. One day she's
gonna have to hang it up. There's gonna be a
market for somebody who can do this. Could be your time.
You could steal all the gigs.
Speaker 4 (02:12:58):
Is that the Maroon Panda?
Speaker 5 (02:12:59):
I don't know, man, Do you agree with me that
Red Panda should be in the national basketball.
Speaker 2 (02:13:06):
Have you ever met one sort of do Have you
ever met one person that was like, eh, that's okay. No,
every every person that she comes across, she wows.
Speaker 5 (02:13:15):
And the thing is like most of us have seen
Red Panda multiple times still, and every time it's like
it's like long for more. It's like, you know, the
twenty first time I saw Springsteen is as good as
the first. Same same with Red Panda. But Red Panda
used to be sort of niche, like she would do
college basketball games in the area. I saw it a
Miami game years ago, and now she's like the All
Star game market.
Speaker 7 (02:13:37):
Man.
Speaker 2 (02:13:37):
I just eventually her her niche before was I'll appear
here and there. If you're appearing every other day or
every week, you're bound to take a fall. I just like,
what's the mental side note? Is she able to bounce back?
But I'm just curious because, like you know, athletes, you
think about it right away. If you're somebody who is
inspired by Red Panda, have you been on that unicycle
(02:13:59):
going you know what, it's gonna be my turn one day?
Speaker 5 (02:14:00):
Could this be your turn?
Speaker 4 (02:14:02):
Green light? And what's that?
Speaker 6 (02:14:03):
Like?
Speaker 4 (02:14:03):
What's the unicycle community feel about Red pair?
Speaker 5 (02:14:06):
Or does this open up the door for the firecracker girls?
You know the frisbee dogs? Can the monkey riding a dog?
Guy make a comeback?
Speaker 4 (02:14:14):
Can he balance a bowl while riding the dog?
Speaker 5 (02:14:16):
How many bulls could you balance on your head sitting
in that chair?
Speaker 17 (02:14:21):
Four?
Speaker 5 (02:14:22):
Uh? Do we know how Red Panda got into that?
Speaker 27 (02:14:25):
Like?
Speaker 4 (02:14:25):
Was she sitting there one day you got to come across?
Speaker 5 (02:14:28):
You know, I know how to ride.
Speaker 4 (02:14:29):
Did she ride the unicycle first? Or did she kick
the bulls and balance him first?
Speaker 5 (02:14:32):
I mean to me, if like she just she just
sat in a chair and balance balls on her head,
I would think that's pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (02:14:38):
She adds a tall unicycle which came first, like chicken
or the egg, the unicycle or the bulls.
Speaker 5 (02:14:43):
Also, she was on America's Got Talent? Right she didn't win.
Speaker 4 (02:14:47):
Yeah, that's a shame, laugh laugh Who beat her? Great question?
Speaker 5 (02:14:51):
What was that?
Speaker 4 (02:14:51):
Act?
Speaker 2 (02:14:52):
More of this is next three hours of Red Panda.
You just got to pick up a couple first downs
an hour though. Are you going to be covering Amelia
Pegan one? Two, three innings?
Speaker 5 (02:15:00):
I'm gonna bring you in to do that.
Speaker 4 (02:15:02):
It's Google.
Speaker 5 (02:15:04):
What were you doing?
Speaker 4 (02:15:05):
I tweeted that tweet and I thought, I said to myself,
Moe is gonna have a smart ass response.
Speaker 5 (02:15:10):
Did Were you asking because you genuinely wanted to know?
Speaker 4 (02:15:13):
Yes? And I did not want to look it up.
Speaker 2 (02:15:15):
I have a buddy that does that in a group chat,
that will say like, hey, question and everyone will like wait,
and then I'll ask the question.
Speaker 4 (02:15:21):
And it's a question you could just google quicker.
Speaker 5 (02:15:23):
When people do that, they really don't want to know
the answer.
Speaker 4 (02:15:26):
I really wanted to know that answer.
Speaker 5 (02:15:27):
Were you wanting to know the answer because you think
Amelio Pagan is really good?
Speaker 13 (02:15:31):
No?
Speaker 4 (02:15:31):
Okay, it's because he makes every ending harder on himself,
and most of the time he doesn't. Most of the
time he doesn't have a one, two three. Anybody that's
what you're that's at the stats review. Can you come
in at four h five because I'm gonna talk about it. No,
he won't be busy.
Speaker 5 (02:15:44):
I mean, just tell those guys what are they doing
talking to Greg Steven, John matt Reee, What what's on
Tanya Rourke coming on? Just put that thing on an autopilot. Basically,
you can't even here today.
Speaker 4 (02:15:55):
I don't think, well then, who's on? No, I mean
they're like at home.
Speaker 5 (02:15:58):
Oh yeah, just tell him. I gotta go talk to
Mo for ten minutes or you know, you'll be fine.
Who they having on having on the record guy? The
guy that's gonna talk about old records? Yeah, that is
uh talking about nil some more big beautiful bill. What's
what's on the big show today? Down the hill?
Speaker 2 (02:16:15):
I have a great fourth of July. Enjoyed The Molegger
Show on ESPN fifteen thirty
