Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Skyline Chile. Since he three to sixty about
Cincinnati from Cincinnati, sponsored in part by Skyline Chile. Stop
by Skyline Chili through a three way or cheeze Coney today.
Feeling good, It's Skyline time. This is ESPN fifteen thirty
Cincinnati Sports Station.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Well, yes, yes, we are feeling good, hopefully feeling good
and hungry. That's because it's Skyline time. It's since he
three p sixty. We're just getting started. We're here from
noon to three on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
You can also find us via the iHeartRadio app. If
you're listening via the app, leave us a talkback. We'll
get to those talkbacks in our number two this afternoon.
(00:42):
We have a lot to get through, and uh we'll
do so. With the Cincinnati Reds. Well, I'm not gonna
make the listen, Austin, you deal with this a lot
as well. I tweeted out something last night after the game,
I said Reds are back. Can you see a tweet
like that and understand sarc I can within a tweet? Yeah,
(01:02):
because I nearly Tony, I nearly was gonna say the
same thing.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Yeah, And I saw your tweet and I was like, oh,
I can't do it after he's done it. But that
I think was indicative of how you and I view
the world.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
And I was surprised to see so many people that
don't understand my sense of sarcasm, that they just follow
me and have never listened or talked to me in
my life, because no, I don't think the reds are
all the way back.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
I was trying to explain to someone yesterday about because
they were asking me, of all people, for some advice
about how to grow their Twitter brandy and their presence
on social media, and I was telling them that it's
actually a lot harder now because of the addition to
the for you tab that people will see your tweets
even though they don't follow you, right, And sometimes that
(01:58):
leads to people just firing off replies that you have
when they don't know who you are or your style
of tweet, or your sarcasm or what you do or
stuff like that, and it leads to oftentimes tweets missing
your target audience, which is often your followers, and people
just destroying you. That's happened to me a lot lately. Yeah,
(02:21):
and I'm trying to figure out how to get better
at that, you know, I was. I was also told
recently by someone in this building because I was trying
to figure out, you know, how can I sell myself more,
how can I bring money not only to myself but
to the company. And I was explaining to this person
how well my tweets had been doing, all the impressions,
and like it's generating this and this and this, and
(02:43):
they said, people don't care about impressions, they care about followers.
Huh doesn't that seem kind of ass backwards because in
today's day and age, all I'm told about is impressions.
How many people, especially on Twitter, where they've taken away
he really the importance of followers that really put the
onus on impressions. Why should people care more about followers
(03:06):
than impressions? That don't make sense? Doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
So just go buy a bunch of followers and get
two likes per tweet. But you have a lot of followers.
I guess what we're doing is that worth the investment?
Are we backwards in this country? I'll tell you who's
not backwards. I'll say who ain't backwards? Andrew Abbot, God, guys, guys,
an absolute stud. We're gonna spend a lot of time
in our number one talking about Andrew Abbott. We also Austin.
(03:31):
As we get into our number one, we're gonna have a.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
I meant to play this, Tony. I'm sorry. I want
you to put the word up. Yeah, there we go.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
See now people are gonna get mad, like they don't
even think the Reds are just won one game. Yeah,
well guess what, Reds haven't been swept all seasons?
Speaker 4 (03:46):
How's that?
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yep? You want to talk about coming back? Breads are
back baby.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Now we have to have a serious conversation today about
Hunter Green because something is starting to feel off about
Hunter Green and Jeff Passing gives a deadline move for
the Reds that I would jump on board with immediately.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
I'm all for it.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
We'll get to all of that, but uh, before we
get to any of that, some of the top sports
stories going around. Devin Booker just keeps making money.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Man.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Devin Booker signed an extension. Is that forty five million
dollars for Devin Booker? The Sons are going nowhere, but
he's at least going to get paid. Speak Azona. Yeah,
you want to talk about NBA Austin. How about this
MAVs Cooper Flag debut Summer League taking on Brownie and
the Lakers tonight.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Okay, so what I want to do? I actually watched
a little bit of Summer League over the weekend. Yeah,
that's not good.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
So what I want to do today? In honor of
Cooper Flagg Main's finest our trivia question at the end
of our number two to win tickets to Upper Deck Golf,
a great American ballpark is going to be Know your Main? Oh,
know your Maine.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
In honor of Cooper Flag and his debut tonight. Last night,
Leonel Messi made MLS history. Did you know that?
Speaker 3 (05:07):
I heard he scored two goals. Don't know what his
history is.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
The first MLS player ever to score multiple goals in
four straight matches.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Oh that's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Leonel Messi in an inner Miami win, scores multiple goals.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Some call him the Joey Chessnut of soccer.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Yep, and that's the that's the league chest nuts in now,
and that's the league that Messi's trying to get to.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
By the way, tone automated ball strikes come to the
All Star Game, Oh, very good. So robots, Yeah, I
like this. Let me write that down to mention later.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
As well as a robots last Yesterday, the Indiana Fever
got Caitlin Clark back, but only put up sixty one points.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
They got crushed. But Caitlyn Clark is back, which is
great that you're saying Caitlyn scored sixty Nope, not the
case that would happen. How about how is Caitlyn Clark
not on the cover of the two K Game. I
don't know what they're doing. Okay, I don't know what's
going on with that.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Is there anything? Uh?
Speaker 2 (06:09):
We talked about America. How about Amanda Anamasova. She's an American.
A couple of years ago, she took a break from
tennis for almost a year mental health. She focused on
her mental health, she stepped away from the sport and
she's since come back from a mental health break in
a much better place mentally, and today Austin, she beats
(06:33):
the number one seed in the world for the number
one player in the world, Soablanca, and advances to her
first Wimbledon final. Let's go so shout out to the
American do we own tennis?
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Question?
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Mark Fritz is in the Semis tomorrow. He's got a
chance to go into the finals. Taylor Fritz, that's.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Right, hell Is Real is happening over the weekend. Do
you know his middle name?
Speaker 6 (06:54):
No?
Speaker 3 (06:55):
On the Okay, that ain't bad. That ain't bad hell.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Is This is the type of show I want to
make it today. Hell Is Reel comes to a Saturday.
I'll tell you who's not heading to hell. I'll tell
you who's living right Austin the Pope shout out to
Ron Lang.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Oh my gosh, yes, I'm glad you brought this up.
I had it written down. Ron Lang, let's go yesterday.
He goes down. We talked about this last week.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
What was happening in Ripley with the Queen of Hearts
the The pot got up to one point three million.
Incredible last night there were only four names left and
I know you retweeted a picture of Ron But Ron
Lang won the one point three million dollar jackpot at
Brookies in Ripley, Ohio.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
How about this.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
He does maintenance work on apartments and cuts grass on
the side. Shout out to the grass cutting business. No kidding,
cuts grass on the side, he said. With the one
point three million, he wants to buy a truck and
go on a vacation.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
Damn right, congrats Ron, Ron, awesome. He's not talking about
mansions in Wisconson. Just a truck, said, let me get
a truck and take my wife on vacation. A truck
and a trip. Oh yeah, Ron, good shout out to
just a type of salt of the earth people. You
want to win a prize like that. You ain't kidding
what happened in Major League base He's available. I have
(08:18):
a door, yeah, in my apartment that won't close.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
How many messages or friends have reached out to Ron,
He hasn't heard from it a while.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Hey, Ron, will you do this for free?
Speaker 4 (08:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (08:28):
Gonna need you.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Yankees yesterday they dfa'd dj Lem Mayhew.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
How about that? That's a far fall from the top.
They basically dj Lem Mayhew was their Jamer Candelario. Yeah,
so they signed Jamer Candelario and dfaid Jamier Candelario. How
about that? How about that? How about that the Yankees
are struggling. You want to talk about not struggling anymore.
Bryce Harper, since returning from injury, was one for fourteen.
(08:53):
Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Yesterday he had three doubles and a home run. I
like Bryce Harper. Bryce Harper bus out from the slump
a little bit. If you like it, I do too.
I do too.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
The Phillies are the most feast or for famine offense
in Major League Baseball. It's pretty amazing. That's pretty accurate
them in the Reds. It's like either you score twelve
or thirteen or none.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Yeah, the Reds received a mid season grade from ESPN,
and Moe used a pole question.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
We'll get to ours. Mo used a pole question yesterday
and said that the Bengals had received an off season
grade of a C plus. Asked, you know, kind of
what you view or what you think of that off
season grade for the Cincinnati Bengals C plus. What do
you make of a C plus? Let's start with the Bengals, Uh, accurate?
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Seventy seven percent of people that voted on most poll
said seventy seven percent is accurate. Now, the Reds also
just received a C plus for their mid season grade.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Is that accurate in your opinion? This is just how
how they performed in the first half of the season. Yeah,
I think that's accurate. I think they're a C plus
ball club. I think so too. That sounds about right
to me.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Yeah, they're not a B and they're not as bad
enough to be a D, so I think right in
that C C plus range, yeah, is fair for what
it's worth. From the NFL standpoint. The Bengals got the
C plus, the Pittsburgh Steelers got a C, and the
Ravens and the Browns both got a B plus from
a grading standpoint. All right, Speaking of a off season list,
(10:35):
it's list season. As we talked about yesterday, pretty much,
we'll talk about the NFL safety rankings. Yesterday we did
edge rushers. Trey Hendrickson was number six on that list.
Today it is safeties. We'll talk a little bit about that.
But there's a lot of safeties on that list that
are on the Bengals schedule this year.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Yeah. Yeah, there's a safety on that list that used
to be on the Bengals team too. That's also true.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
How about this prime time yesterday, a big twelve media day,
he says it's time for a salary cap in college football.
He said, I wish there was a cap like the
top of the line player makes this, and if you're
not that type of guy, you know you're not gonna
make that that's what the NFL does. He went on
to say, so the problem is, you got guys that's
not that darn good. But he can go to another
(11:17):
school and they give him half million dollars. You can't
compete with that, and it don't make sense. He finished
by saying, you understand, darn near why they're in the playoffs.
It's kind of hard to compete with someone who's given
twenty five to thirty million to a freshman class.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
It's crazy. What do you think about a salary cap
in college football? I do think eventually it will happen.
What about a Saturn capt baseball? I don't think it's
a bad thing for it to happen in college football baseball.
You know, it's funny. I saw the article written in
The Athletic that the MLBPA and MLB Commissioner's Office are
already butting heads ahead of a potential lockout coming up
(11:53):
in a couple of years because the owners want a
salary cap, the players want a salary and the owners say, well,
you can't have a salary floor without a salary cap.
And then some people are like, well, why don't we
just keep it like it is? This is not gonna
go well. Yeah, it's not gonna go well. And I
don't even know what the answer is. I feel like
(12:15):
a salary floor would be the start, right, that would
be the start.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
At the bare minimum. Do you think Dion would be
clamoring for a salary cap if Chadoor and Travis Hunter
were still there?
Speaker 3 (12:30):
Uh? Probably not? Yeah, I don't either. Probably. What do
you think?
Speaker 2 (12:35):
What do you think This is obviously a topic that
we don't even need to discuss, but what do you
think is now the future of Dion as a coach
because a lot of it was tied to Shador and
Travis Hunter. Do you think he can be successful going forward?
Speaker 7 (12:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (12:49):
I do. I do think he'll be successful. It might
help him a little bit too, Yeah, to not have
his his son, and I feel like he's been relatively quiet.
I know he's going through some health issues earlier in
the offseason, but like, if he can continue to win
at coloradof he actually builds that into something. I think
people will have no choice but to respect him, because
for a while it was like, oh, you just have
(13:09):
your kid and you've got this generational talent. Of course
you're gonna be better than Colorado was before. But can
you actually I think the big key maybe it's a
little different today's college football because you can rebuild it
pretty quickly, but that you know, the measure of success
is what can you actually build and turn this thing into.
And if he continues to do that, it's not like
the Big twelve is, you know, a great football conference.
(13:31):
It's okay, but still if you can get back to
the playoff, you can get Colorado to the playoff, Yeah,
it'd be a big deal. He also did you hear
him talking about equipment yesterday?
Speaker 6 (13:41):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (13:41):
Yeah? How I mean, I would never in a million
of years guess that. Dion Sanders was talking about guys
wearing their pants too high and not enough packing and
they don't look right and it's not safe and we
need institute fines for doing this sort of stuff and
you got to respet the game of all people. For
(14:02):
Dion Sanders to say that, Yes, I thought that was
pretty interesting and I kind of agree with thought.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
The same thing, like that's Dion gave that quote odd. Yeah. Lastly,
and I'm I'm I'm saying this because I know our guy.
I would be shocked if he's not listening right now.
But He's not only an avid listener, but he obviously
supports the show with his work at Cincy Shurtz our guy,
Josh Need. Yeah, I know we teased this earlier in
(14:28):
the week, but tonight's the night Austin Fat Ryan Josh
Need's new comedy special and take offense to that word.
It is being released tonight. Listen though. It's all new
and it's family friendly material that hasn't been recorded anywhere else.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
So, uh, if you follow along, Josh car give us
a sea deliver one joke.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Yes, it's at Josh Need on X. You can go
follow along with Josh so you can see how you
can be a part of this tonight.
Speaker 8 (14:55):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
Uh the Fat Ryan, you think you could ever do
stand up?
Speaker 2 (15:00):
There are times in my life I think I can,
and then times where I realize there's no chance I could.
So much about Josh as his delivery, Oh yeah, he
said there's a giant and I'm not gonna get the
joke exactly right. But he was talking about fitness and
working out, and he immediately shifts and he's like, yeah,
you're laughing because as I'm talking about fitness, I'm using
(15:22):
my stomach as an armrest and it's like that went
right there. I just don't possess Yeah, at all times,
he's always on. There's not a time I've come across
and like talk to Josh and been like, man, Josh
was off today.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
Just who he is. I think he's so funny. I
think really good comedians like Josh have an ability to
see the world through an entirely different lens. Yep, And
that's what makes them so successful. Actually, I've been reading
Jerry Seinfeld's book nice called Is This Anything, which is
a collection of all the notes and all the bits
(15:55):
and all the jokes he's ever told, and it's separated
by deck like it starts in the seventies, eighties, nineties,
and just like I find myself laughing hysterically over something
so like small, so normal, like the way a microwave
does something, or a taxi cab or whatever it might be. Like,
(16:17):
those people are absolute geniuses.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Josh also has the ability anytime he's called in or
just a randomly text and kind of pokes fun at
how much I just go hmm, Yeah, he likes to fit.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
That in as well. So let's say about allowed for
Josh today. I wonder if he could do like some
sort of a standpoint Jude listen.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
So whether Josh is listening right now or you're listening,
and you know, Josh get the bats thing allowed to Josh, Yeah,
call and give him a one o'clock timeframe to call in. Yeah,
the start of our number two. I want to leave
open for Josh to deliver a joke on air for us.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
All right, fot Ryan tonight, Very careful, don't say that
out to Josh. One other story that I had as
we review yesterday's top sports story is brought to you
by Class Roofing Systems of Cincinnati. Did you see that
Livy Dunn and Paul Skenes tried to buy Babe Ruth's
(17:08):
former apartment in New York City and like it was
gonna happen. It was a done deal. Basically they were
gonna go pick up the keys. In the eleventh hour,
the board of I guess idiots people that lived there
in the apartment building voted them down. That's crazy. She
(17:31):
was gonna pay cash one point five to eight mil cash.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
And you said this was in New York. In New York,
you know what they're doing. They're just getting a jump
on when he's gonna be a Yankee.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Or a met And they were gonna buy this apartment
located at three forty five West eighty eighth where Babe
Ruth lived during the twenties and thirties. They had an
interior designer hired in everything, and at the last minute
Ye voted down. That would be that's can you imagine that?
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Would They're just trying to get comfortable before so that
the move doesn't shake the red up.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Yeah, so they just already have a landing.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Pad mets Yeah, real quick, Speaking of pictures, a pitcher
is the focus of our Revive Fitness Systems dot compole
questions today.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Yeah, the pirates Ace and the guy who used to
be the reds Ace, Oh, Hunter Green. Revivefitnessystems dot com
Pole questions, don't check it out and vote at Audiomore
at ESPN fifteen thirty at Tony Underscore Pike fifteen. What
is your level of concern about the Hunter Green situation?
Your options are this is bad bad, he will be fine,
(18:38):
he may never pitch again, or he's still the Ace
right now. Forty five percent say this is bad bad, Yeah,
forty three percent just two percent less say he will
be fine, okay. Six point three percent say he's still
the ace. What are you smoking? Yeah? And four point
two percent say he may never pitch again. Let's do this.
(19:02):
I really like Hunter Green. Yeah, Like I said on
air multiple times, he's my favorite Reds player. Yep.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
I'm worried about that. I'm concerned. We'll talk about why.
But before we get to that, let's talk about the
Reds actual ways. An ace who when your team is skidding,
when your team has hit a losing streak, is going
to take the ball on the mounta and give you
the best chance to win. He took the ball last night,
and he gave the Reds the best chance to win.
We'll talk about Androw Abbott, and we'll talk about the
Reds performance last night. When we get back, phone lines
(19:31):
will open as well. Five one, three, seven, four nine
fifteen thirty. It is Sincy three sixty. You're listening on
ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station thanks to Skyline Chile.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Now your chance to win one thousand dollars.

Speaker 5 (20:36):
We'll look back to second base. Now to the plate
with the two to two swung onto this ball is
hit the other way to left fil hit pretty well.
Going back to the left field or her hand desk
can't get it. It's over his head and up against
the wall. Ellie on his way in the second standing
as McLane raises home with their reads first run. Tonight,
it's one to nothing RBI double for Elie Daily Cruz
is first extra base hit here the month of July.
Speaker 9 (21:00):
Pretty good time for it, huh, I'd say.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
So, well, there you have it. That's how it sounded
last night. Ellie with multiple extra base hits last night.
The Reds just didn't look back after that. Nah, no
looking back for the Red Legs last night. That was
a very similar to the nineteen ninety season. Really wire
to wire Reds win, they avoid a sweep. Austin, you
know that the Reds are the only team in baseball
(21:23):
that hasn't been swept this season.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
I did know that. What do you think about that?
I think that's pretty cool, pretty good start. Huh. It's
almost banner worthy. Woa How long.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Would it have to be to the All Star Breaker?
Would have to be the full season to get a banner?
I don't know that there's a requirement. Okay, I mean,
whatever day it ends, that's fair. Reds were not swept
until that makes sense.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
Yeah, you know what I.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Mean, that makes sense. Shout out, Austin. You want to
talk about a guy that just continues to wow at
every level. Reese Hines keeps playing good baseball. You said
every level of the miners. Oh okay, I meant to say.
And he hit another home run last night.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
That's cool.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
I mean that dude, just he might go down as
one of the best Triple A hitters of all time.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
The gap between Triple A and the big leagues has
never been bigger.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
It's yeah, I mean, he he struggled mightily, but it
got me thinking. And we're going to get into the
star of last night's game, because that is obviously uh
Andrew Abbott. But it got me thinking because last night, Austin,
I think it was the best game at the plate
I've seen from nouelve Marte. He he homered and he
(22:36):
also had an opposite field single. And normally, if you
follow with baseball, if players are able to hit the
ball opposite field, do you think that you it tells
you they're seeing the ball.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Well.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
For instance, Bryce Harper last night hit three doubles in
a home run, all to the opposite field. That would
tell you you're locked in a pretty good way. Marte
hit a no doubt home run yesterday in the fourth inning,
and in his next about he went opposite field with
with a single. Now he also, Austin, somehow didn't get
charged with an air on a play that I think
(23:05):
ninety nine percent of third baseman's make. Yeah, the scorekeeper
at Great American Ballpark is extremely, extremely lenient.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Well, there's been a few of those that have gotten
changed recently, including the one just the other day got
changed to an error on Marte.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
So I listened to Lark and explaining it last night,
and it just it didn't seem like a confident play
from Nualvee Marte, but it did seem like confident swings.
And as we're starting this conversation with Marte, and obviously
there's a lot we'll get to, I'm at a point now, Austin,
I would rather ride this out with Marte and see
(23:39):
what he has long term than give his at bats
to Santiago Espinol.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
Yeah, I agree with that.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
What will we lose at this point? I mean, Martes
still hitting two seventy seven on the year. There are
times he does look lost at the plate, but I
think at this point I'm willing to give him more
chances than I'm giving Espinol.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Yeah, even if it's a lot of games that are
like last night, where Marte plays the first six innings,
seven innings, sure, and then maybe you want to get
a little sure handed on defense. Right then they put
masspit on in the game and just kind of sure
up the defense a little bit.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
More other things that happened last night mentioned Elie de
la Cruz two doubles on the game. His average is
up to two seventy seven as well multi hit night
from him and Noelve Marte. The Reds busted out eleven
total hits. Will Benson, Tyler Stevens and Spencer's Tear, Gevin Lux,
Austin Hayes, Matt McClain, and TJ. Friedl all with a hit.
Every starter last night for the Reds recorded at least
(24:33):
one hit in the game. They score seven runs, And
it's good news to score seven runs, Austin, but let's
be honest, they only needed two of them. I guess
you could say three because the Marlins did get the two.
But the way Andrew Abbitt threw the ball last night, again,
give Ellie credit give Marte credit. Andrew Abbot man. He
(24:55):
does not waste pitches, and he does not try to
pitch around you. He throws his stuff, he paints the corners,
and he is going to attack you every at bat,
and he does so with this mentality of not caring
what happens. Because he doesn't have the ninety eight mile
an hour fastball. He relies on control, he relies on movement,
(25:18):
he relies on placement. But he does not pitch around anybody.
He goes at you. And last night the latest example
of that he went seven and two thirds to one
hundred pitches, six hits, one earned run, walk to and
struck out five. I believe is now two seven on
the He's the ace everything you want right now.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
He's the ace without a doubt, his ability to attack hitters,
change speeds, and not afraid to pitch to contact, even
if your third basement has the yips and can't throw
to first yep, even if you may not be totally
confident in your outfielders, Andrew Abbott is not afraid to
pitch to contact.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Great American Ballpark of all places, r gabp's one nine
eight did they.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Have like it seemed like they had seven balls that
they hit to the warning track. Those are outs. Yeah,
I'll take them, doesn't matter if they're closed, they're outs.
You gotta be able to hit the ball out of
the ballpark, and he just doesn't allow that to happen
very often.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
Compare what you see when he pitches versus Lodolo, right,
Like Lodolo is just so far around the zone, but
he's going at you. Yeah, and it's again, it's to me,
it's a mentality. Rob Dibble, when he came on, said
he relates what Andrew Abbott does to watching Tom Browning.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Right exactly bulldog and not afraid to trust his defense.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
And to take the ball when your team has lost
four in a row and things are spiraling in the
wrong direction a night after you were just named the
All Star team, a great honor. Instead of taking a
step back, instead of having a mental lapse, he essentially
puts the team on his back and says, just go
score two runs, go score three. I'm not gonna allow
(27:01):
much of anything tonight. That's what you need in an ACE.
For years, It's what we talked about with Hunter Green.
Hunter Green needs to be the guy that if this
team loses three or four in a row, is gonna
get the ball and say no more. Yeah, this losing
streak ends today and it did last night with Andrew Abbott.
He is the Red's ace.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
One of my favorite things to do is to read
Chick Ludwig's Reds recaps. Oh. Chick as a very talented
writer and has written for many, many years. And sometimes
he'll put on his Facebook page or out on Twitter
a recap basically of the game, and it's always beautifully written.
And he summed it up pretty nicely last night. He
(27:41):
said the Red Zone a twelve and five record. And
Andrew Abbott's seventeen starts, in thirteen of those starts, he's
yielded one or zero runs. Man, Abbot is more than
the Red stopper. He's their ace. Yep, well said Chickster.
That is one hundred percent the truth. Walls.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Now, I had a chance last night. I was watching
the game last night and Jim Day interviewed his parents.
Did you catch any of what was serew Abbot's parents?
Speaker 3 (28:10):
No, I didn't.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Well, his dad's a big fireball guy. And there is
a story out there that when Andrew was going through
the miners before every start, his dad would kind of
rip some fireball and he advanced through the miners very quickly.
He said, he still carries the tradition. And then Jim said, well,
how many fireballs are you planning to put back for
the All Star Game? Dad said quite a few. So
(28:33):
not only great pitcher comes from a family of fireball lovers.
I can respect a fireball, yeah, I can respect that,
But awesome stuff. Andrew Rabbit was phenomenal last night. Gives
the Reds exactly exactly what they needed. So on one end,
you get the ace doing big things for the Cincinnati Reds.
(28:54):
You get the ace leading the team in a way
that you need the ace to be the stopper, and
you give yourself a chance to salvage a split. At
five ten tonight with Nick Lodolo on the mound for
the Cincinnati Reds Game four, Great American Ballpark, and then
the Rockies are going to come in for three. But
before we dive in any of that, Austin, We've got
to kind of piggyback off our poll question today, and
(29:15):
that revolves around Hunter Green. Let's discuss Hunter Green when
we come back on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station
and a service of Skyline Chile.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Help the planet with.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
A tip Free sixty carries on on ESPN fifteen thirty
Cincinnati Sports Station.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Uh huh, welcome back since E three sixty ESPN fifteen
thirty Cincinnati Sports Station and and a service of our
good friends at Skyline Chili. Thank you for listening. Also,
if you're listening via the iHeartRadio app, leave us a talkback.
We'll get to that talk back in our number two.
I'm assuming Austin right after we hear from Josh need
(29:54):
at one.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
Hopefully.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Surely at this point Josh has heard or someone has
reached out to Josh to let him know that he's
supposed to call into the show at one today to
talk about Fat Randy and what's happening.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Is there a fat Randy Bullock joke in there? That's
a great question. I don't know. Is it named after him?
I don't know. Could Randy Bullock perhaps send a season desist?
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Also a great question, you know question Who can answer
those questions? Josh?
Speaker 4 (30:24):
Not us?
Speaker 2 (30:25):
How about this, Austin. You remember early on in the
year when were talking about Hunter Green and the Saw
Young race. Yeah, remember we were talking about how these
best bargain in baseball, how this pitching staff is so
loaded with him at the top, and what I think
would be interesting, Austin, if Hunter Green was healthy, has
Andrew Rabbitts still surpassed him based on how good he's been? Yeah,
(30:47):
I think so. I think that would have been. Now
it's a whole different conversation to have if you got
those two at the top of your your for sure
your rotation and win healthy. But yesterday, Austin, let let's
go over the timeline that's happened this week with Hunter Green. Won,
he was throwing bullpen sessions, and then he was supposed
to begin a rehab assignment in Triple A earlier in
(31:08):
the week, and then despite getting a clean MRI, that
bullpen session or that that trip to Triple A was
essentially canned, it was canceled. And then during this week,
Charlie Goldsmith reported that he was dressed to throw a
bullpen session. I had one of the games, and again
(31:28):
Terry Francona talked about the MRIs clean. We feel good
about that, but he used the term confidence and the
feel for Hunter Green and something that maybe Hunters got
to work through at this point. And then on yesterday,
fifteen minutes after we went off air, it was reported
that Hunter Green is heading to Arizona.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
For a rehab assignment, so be his second time in
Arizona dealing with this injury.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
And more so than anything, it was this comment from
Terry Francona. We don't really have a roadmap. When you
ask a guy to go out and pitch, compete and
give it us all, he's got to feel confident that
when he lets it go, he'll be okay. He'll be
the only one that's going to know that. To me,
(32:20):
and it may be diving too much into this, but
the way things have transpired this week, I'm starting to worry.
And again I'm not there yet, but I'm starting to
worry if there's a chance we don't see Hunter Green
again this year.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
Yeah, especially because when he got hurt the second time
around in Milwaukee, it was June third, and he left
the game after five innings and said he just kind
of felt something, like it wasn't that bad, just kind
of felt something. And they say, yeah, that groin still pulling,
(32:55):
ends up getting an epidural in his back, gets a
second opinion goes to good starts rehabbing, eventually rejoins the
team in Boston, throws a bullpen session that was a
lot lighter, like a simulated game that was only twenty pitches,
which was surprising to people covering the team, And then
everything that you just outlined over the last week and
(33:18):
nobody seems to know what exactly the injury is, especially
when Francona was as animated as he was about the
fact that they were thrilled with the latest MRI right
like that him.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
That's amaze the disconnect for Francona to come out and
almost not protect Hunter and say, well, the MRI's clean.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
Yeah, that's the thing. And so Francona does a really
good job of protecting his players and he's done. He's
he's not put his foot in his mouth at all.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
Now.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
David Bell did that a lot last year. He tried
to put dates on things and timelines and blah blah
blahen and it came back to bite him multiple times,
and that was a part of a lot of frustration
for Reds fans last year. Zach, as we know, is
brilliant at never saying anything when it comes to injuries
like this, and Francona has really been pretty quiet and
at the same time very transparent about injuries this year,
(34:13):
which I appreciate, and for him to be as animated
as he was about how thrilled they were with the
results of the latest MRI, which was just an MRI
I in my understanding, to give everyone some peace of
mind and that it comes back clean and then everything
gets canceled. To me, I keep thinking back to a
(34:37):
couple of years ago at the Olympics when Simone Biles
couldn't perform and they said she had what they called
the twisties, which is a specific thing to gymnastics. Mentally,
you're not right, your equilibrium's kind of thrown off, and
it's dangerous for you to participate because you could not
know where you're going, what your body's doing, who knows
(34:58):
how you could land. It was more than anything, a
mental block and almost like a fear thing. And I
wonder if Hunter is worried about getting hurt again, or
if there's some sort of mental block about the way
he's progressing, or the way he's working, or the way
(35:20):
his mechanics are, or something to where he just can't
get over this and he isn't performing when he does
pitch the way he wants to.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
I just go back to you know, when the injury
first happened, I thought the scarier side was that it
was his right leg, because that's what's driving off the mountain,
that's what's generating so much force. And if you think
there's a pitcher who's already dealt with Tommy John, what
do you want to put more emphasis on your lower body?
Speaker 3 (35:49):
You need to use You don't want to be all armed.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
You want to use your lower body to generate that
drive and take pressure off your elbow. And now again
Hunter knows, because he's dealt with this injury how mentally
and physically is austin the rehab processes. Right, So if
you can't fully commit yourself to letting it go, how
(36:14):
worrisome does that become from a mental standpoint as well?
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Yeah, it just feels like a mental block. And maybe
that's why the Reds sent him to Arizona. Hunter has
a house out there. His family all grew up over
on the West Coast, and he's got family out there,
and maybe that's just a place for him to be
comfortable and say, all right, take as much take the
time that you need to get yourself right. Sure, we
got the All Star break coming back. Just go out there,
(36:39):
get some work in and get yourself right. Maybe that's
just the play the Reds are are going with here.
I mean, if you remember, early in his career, Joey
Vado had to step away from baseball because of some
mental issues. Yeah, and was gone for a while. And
so it's not to say that the guy's not hurt,
because I do believe that there's something there that is
(36:59):
causing him to pause and causing him to be hesitant.
But is it as serious maybe as his mind makes
it out to be, right, I don't know. More on
Hunter Green as we go, we'll take your phone calls. Five.
Let's say it's not mental at all. Right, Well, then,
what's the actual issue? Is it the groin? Is it
(37:21):
the back? Is it the hip? Is it the elbow?
What is the actual issue?
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Yeah? Uh, here's what we're going to do next. A
former Red did something really cool in the miners last night.
We'll check in on that. And I want to check
in on a trade, a deadline move that Jeff Passing
made for the Cincinnati Reds that's got folks on X
buzzing on SPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station. Thanks to
(37:48):
our friends at Skyline.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
Chiley, Cincinnati, make us the number.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
One welcome back since he three to sixty. ESBN fifteen
thirty Cincinnati Sports Station, a service of Skyline Chile. Anytime
you're feeling good and hungry, it's Skyline time, Austin. Do
you remember Tyler Naquin?
Speaker 3 (38:14):
Yes, gosh, you're just right off my notes today.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
Tyler Naquin, the former Red who eight seasons as an outfielder,
hit two sixty three with sixty one home runs. Played
for the Reds from twenty twenty one twenty twenty two,
hit two sixty three as a Red. The Reds traded
Tyler Naquin to the Mets for Hector Rodriguez and Jose Acunya.
(38:40):
For what it's worth, saw Hector Rodriguez is the eleventh
rank prospect for the Reds currently. But but Tyler Naquin
is now in uh. I believe high. A hiat baseball
for the Cleveland Guardians last night. Pitched his debut, struck
(39:01):
out a batter and didn't allow a hit. And I
watched the video. He's got some nice stuff going. Tyler
Naquin struck out a batter, didn't give up a hit,
pitched a scoreless frame. That's a pretty cool story to
go from an eight year outfield veteran to be like,
you know what, I think I can give this pitching
thing a try.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
Yeah, that's pretty cool. It's the second time this week
we've mentioned Tyler Naquin. Yeah, because he had that walk
off homer in twenty sixteen inside the park homer for
Cleveland back then. So yeah, that's pretty cool. I mean,
it's it's one of those where it's like, oh, we'll
see good luck, ha ha. But when you actually get
there and you start getting some hitters out, okay, yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:40):
And actually just like seeing his stuff, got some nice
movement on the ball. Jeff Passing from ESPN Austin he
threw out the perfect trade deadline for the top contenders
in Major League Baseball. Now he essentially cut the list
with the Cincinnati Reds. That was the team he put
(40:01):
from a contendent standpoint, was everybody above five hundreds. I think,
so he goes soon. Now in the National League, he
starts with the Dodgers. By the way, the Dodgers have
lost six in a row. Concerned about the Dodgers no, No.
A move that he had the Cubs making was going
and getting Sandy al Contra.
Speaker 3 (40:21):
I'd be good with that. That guy stinks.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
But he made a move for the Cincinnati Reds Austin
that I would be extremely excited about, and that is
Stephen Kwan from the Cleveland Guardians. I see Stephen Kwan
as one of those players that I feel like the
Reds can never get out. Doesn't strike out much, great bat,
(40:47):
He's a two time All Star passing says. With a
sneaky deep farm system, the Reds could put together the
sort of package to convince Cleveland to move on from Kwan,
who's a two time All Star in his four seasons
and ranks fifth and wins above replacement amongst all outfielders.
That is behind Judge Soto, Kyle Tucker, and Julio Rodriguez.
His bat to ball and defensive skills in left field
(41:08):
are elite, and with free agency not beckoning until after
the twenty twenty seven season, you could put him with TJ.
Friedel and Ellie de la Cruz to strengthen a lineup
that can use an offensive infusion.
Speaker 3 (41:19):
Now you're not gonna have a bunch of power from
Steven Kuwan, right, and I do think you know kind
of something we might talk about later. But what do
you get potentially locking out a couple of years from
now that might play a role in this. But the
asking price for a two time All Star with two
more years of team control has to be astronomical, right, Right, So.
Speaker 2 (41:43):
Then that's the point of what are you willing to
do to go all in? Because as passing puts it,
can you imagine TJ. Friedl, Stephen Kwan and Ellie de
la Cruz as you're one, two three, That's a pretty
solid way to start a ball game if you want
to talk about guys putting the battle the ball and
getting on base and letting Nellie go do his thing.
He goes on to say, if the cost Acchoir Stephen
Kwan is too high, other good options do exist. Marcella
(42:05):
Zuna of the Atlanta Braves is also an option who's
built for Great American Ballpark.
Speaker 3 (42:11):
He finishes to say he would hit seventy homers here.
Speaker 2 (42:14):
With a rotation that includes All Star Andrew Amit, Hunter, Green, Nickelodola,
and Chase Burns, the Reds are a terrifying postseason opponent.
Another bat to help the rotation, terrifying to Reds fans,
give Cincinnati an opportunity to turn potential into its first
postseason series winning three decades. Yeah, I would jump for joy.
Yeah if they got Stephen Kwan. No chance they do,
(42:39):
but may not be fun.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
Yeah, And what's notable about this article is that it
is the perfect trade for each team that's above five hundred.
So yeah, it is a bit of a long shot.
It's a bit of a pipe dream. But that's the
type of moves.
Speaker 2 (42:53):
What if Tito call the Guardians and say, hey, guys,
look I gave you a lot.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
Those are the type of moves we should want them
to be doing. We need your should be pressuring them
to be please because you want to be if you
want to be a serious contender, because it is a
signal that they are serious about trying to win. You
would say aggressive pursuit of a championship and not being
afraid to move on from guys that might be down
(43:17):
in the minor league system. Now, I don't want to
give up everybody for Stephen Kwan. Nobody would hit the Kwan,
but it would give an opportunity for this team to
immediately get better. For the next two years. Yeah, one
hundred percent. Uh, let's take a break, let's come back,
Let's start our two. Let's see how powerful the reach
of sinty three to sixty is. Has anyone got a
(43:38):
hold of Josh need well, Josh need to get ahold
of us? Five one, three, seven, four nine, fifteen thirty.
He's welcome to call in, as are you when we
come back to kick off hour number two on ESPN
fifteen thirty, Cincinnati Sports Station. Thanks to Skyla ky.
Speaker 1 (43:51):
Why Cincinnati to make us the number one pre set
on your car radio and on the free knew it
improved iHeartRadio ad Free never sounded so good. ESPN fifteen thirty.
This is Cincy Shirts, Cincy three sixty about Cincinnati from Cincinnati,
sponsored in part by Cincy Shirts. Cincy Shirts all Cincy,
(44:11):
all Day. This is ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati Sports Station.
Speaker 2 (44:16):
All right, welcome back, Cincy three to sixty. Thanks too,
as you just heard right there, Cincy Shirts. It's our
number two talkbacks coming up in just a few minutes
where you can leave us your best talkback in the
best talk back of the week is going to get
a Cincy Shirts gift card Austin. I'm often so impressed
with just the power of our listeners, in the power
of radio.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
Yeah. Now, I don't know, incredible reach.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
If our guy Josh Need was listening himself, or if
maybe he was receiving a text messager two that he
was to call in at one o'clock today and be
put on the spot. And I'm sure as any comedian
would want just call in and hey, tell us a joke,
funny man, tell us a joke. And uh, I don't
know how it reached him, but it did. And we
(45:00):
have Josh Need on the line right now. Hi, Josh,
what's up?
Speaker 4 (45:04):
Boys?
Speaker 3 (45:04):
Wow, what a day for you, Josh, Josh, what a
day for you?
Speaker 4 (45:09):
Big day? Fat Randy A new special note, Fat Randy.
It's fat Ryan, dude. I know you.
Speaker 3 (45:15):
Screwed that up.
Speaker 4 (45:17):
It's a it's a reference to YouTube comments of me
for the last fifteen to twenty years of people saying
this guy looks like a fat Ryan Gosling, and that's
where it comes from. But what's hilarious is that you
call it fat Randy, which is a reference to Randy Bullock.
And so that's even more insulting because you're telling me
(45:39):
I was like a fat guy who's already known as.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
A fat guy.
Speaker 4 (45:42):
I look like a fatter version of a fat guy.
Speaker 3 (45:45):
But I was gonna say, do you kind of regret
not naming it fat Randy?
Speaker 11 (45:48):
Now?
Speaker 4 (45:49):
It would have been popular in Cincinnati and maybe Columbus.
Speaker 3 (45:53):
I can see the Ryan Goslin side though.
Speaker 4 (45:55):
True.
Speaker 3 (45:56):
I can see that.
Speaker 4 (45:57):
People people say like it's it's shocked because I never, like,
I don't see it, but when I say it on stage,
I can see people's faces in the audience go, oh
my gosh, like they hadn't seen it until I said something.
But I only said something because it's literally all over
video comments.
Speaker 3 (46:17):
Of me, YouTube and everywhere else. Would you rather be
called fat or heavy? Oh?
Speaker 4 (46:25):
You know, I'm just happy that whatever it is, it's
Ryan Gosling, who is like lovable and like sexiest man alive.
If it was like fat Steve Buscemi or something like that,
like that would that would give me some real like
I would need to talk to somebody professionally about that.
Speaker 2 (46:43):
I don't know why, but anytime I when I hear
fat and then a name behind it, the first thing
I think of is faut Randy. And now Albert. Yeah,
it was faut Albert for a while. Now to me,
it's faut Randy. What what goes in exactly, Josh to
doin your own special? This is obviously is not your
(47:04):
first special, but take me behind the scenes of everything
that goes into getting this done for what's going to
happen tonight.
Speaker 4 (47:11):
This one was actually the most work but also the
most fun because when we recorded it, we didn't know
where it would end up. It was like, we I
have this material, I want to get it recorded and
then we'll shop it around. Like when I did one
for Comedy Central and one for Drybar, it was done
at their studios. They set everything up, they got the
(47:31):
audience there. This was kind of like all on me
and the production team. So I picked Memorial Hall downtown
in OTR, which is just the coolest venue in the city,
and we packed it out with five hundred and fifty
people and it was just a very cool night in
and of itself because of the you know, like when
(47:52):
there's crowd shots, you see friends and family that I've
known for, you know, my whole life, and that makes
this one different than any of the other ones. But
it also there's such a higher risk, because you know,
if you do it and nobody wants it, then that's
a problem too. So I was glad somebody wanted it
and it came out the way it did, and I'm
(48:13):
very excited.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
Have you ever gone to do a special in like
five minutes in, you're like, man, this crowd is just
terrible and you got to maybe scrap it and move
to a different crowd.
Speaker 4 (48:22):
Not for recording a special, I try to feel like
I have. You know, I've got material at that point,
but I will tell you and if you ever get
a chance to watch this on my Comedy Central Presents,
it starts out with me at a chalkboard. I made
the set look like I was in detention and I'm
like writing sentences on the chalkboard.
Speaker 11 (48:42):
And then they.
Speaker 4 (48:43):
Announced my name and I turn around to the audience
and I walked down to the microphone and it was
like jammed in the mic stand and when I pull
it out, I hit myself in the mouth with the
microphone and you can't you can't really tell you're looking
for it, but if you're looking for it, you see
me pop myself in the mouth. And I spent the
(49:04):
whole first five to ten minutes of that, wondering if
my lips were bleeding.
Speaker 2 (49:09):
Oh my god, when you're coming up, when you're coming
up with new material, you know. I know very recently
you opened for Jim Gaffigan and I was able to
see that. And every time I see you, whether you're
opening or you're a main event, I want it to
go longer because I'm I genuinely think you're one of
the funniest people I've ever met. You mentioned this new special.
(49:33):
How important is the family friendly material to you?
Speaker 3 (49:35):
Josh? It's very important to me.
Speaker 4 (49:38):
I was always pretty clean, but then you know, I
just found that there's a market for it. People like
being able to play comedy when their kids are around,
and so will I find it more challenging to write
clean material, and so I've just kind of leaned into
it because there's there's plenty of material out there that
(50:00):
that isn't clean or suitable for young audiences. So as
a result, I'm not like super edgy, as you know,
but I do. I do enjoy writing material that I
think can be played for whoever wants to listen to it,
and not not be selective because of whatever rating it
might get.
Speaker 2 (50:18):
And the special tonight. This is this is never before
seen or hard material.
Speaker 3 (50:22):
Correct, that's right.
Speaker 4 (50:24):
Wow, this hasn't been recorded anywhere else, so it's it's
out now. Disruptorcomedy dot com is the only place you
can see it right now, and then at eight o'clock
tonight if you're if you happen to be watching it
at that point. Basically you get if you if you
buy it on Disruptor Comedy, you get a link you
can watch it right now or whenever you want, however
(50:45):
often you want, should you decide to go back. But
at eight o'clock tonight, I'll be in the chat room
just talking to people if they want to talk about it,
or talk about comedy, or have any questions or tell
me what other celebrities I look like a fatter version
of that they can do. So in the chat room.
Speaker 3 (51:04):
Tonight that'll be at eight pm. I'll pop in there.
Speaker 4 (51:07):
And but you can watch it now and whenever you want,
and then eventually, probably a week or so, it'll be
on Amazon and on iTunes and then and then eventually
YouTube and other places. But as of right now, the
Disruptor Comedy is the only place to see it.
Speaker 2 (51:23):
Do you have like a mount rushmore of your favorite
jokes you've told.
Speaker 4 (51:30):
Of my favorite jokes I've told. I know you're gonna
say of comedians, which is an easier.
Speaker 3 (51:36):
Question your own stuff Simpsons.
Speaker 4 (51:40):
I would say my garage sale bit is probably one
of the ones people talk about the most. The time
that I farted on Jessica Simpson, which I know we've
discussed on your program, is a great story. I'll put
from this news special, the opening story of out my
trip to the jelly belly factory in California. I'd put
(52:05):
that on there. And and then I have an old
story about girls not appreciating a guy with a sense
of humor via a conversation I had with a victorious
secret employee. That's another one that I think sticks out.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
Those would be my fourth. Are you one of those
people do you like walk around with a notebook and
like have to write them down right away or you
have like the notes app and your phone? Like how
do you remember this stuff? I email?
Speaker 4 (52:35):
It's funny you asked that, because when I, I mean,
this tells you I've been doing this twenty eight years.
So I used to have one of those old like
locker room reporter tape recorders with a tiny, tiny spy cass. Yeah,
if I was driving the gigs, I'd have one of
those in my console and i'd pull it out if
I thought of something or I remember one time I
(52:56):
thought of a joke at a red scheme and I
had to call call home to leave myself a voicemail
on the answering machine so I wouldn't forget it. But
now I send myself an email, and I put a
special subject in there so that when I go back
to look at notes, I can just sort by that
subject and find all my random things and try to
(53:17):
figure out what I was thinking when I sent it,
because I do that a lot, where I go, this
will be hilarious, And I put a couple of words
in there, and then I go back to read it,
and I'm like, I have no idea what I was
thinking when I wrote this stuff?
Speaker 3 (53:28):
Like how long does it take for an average like
thought like that to turn into an actual bit?
Speaker 4 (53:38):
I mean, if I think of it. Yeah, some guys
are good at it. Like some guys are really disciplined.
They'll go to a coffee shop, they'll sit down with
a notebook and like literally write stuff out. And I've
just never found success at that. Like, if something hits
me that I think would make a good joke, then
(53:59):
I just start talking about it on stage without writing
it down, because I feel like when I do that,
it makes me talk the way I would talk off stage,
and that's what I want when I'm up there, is
to just sound like a guy that you're just talking
to hanging out somewhere. And so I don't ever really
write down full jokes. I just write down enough little
(54:20):
words to make me remember what I wanted to talk about,
and then over time, I just you know, trim the
fat and build on it or take away from it
until I feel like it's as good as it's.
Speaker 3 (54:31):
Going to be.
Speaker 2 (54:32):
I have to give you props, and I have to
tell you that you're prevalent in the Pike household and Austin,
I don't know if you know this, but there is a.
Speaker 3 (54:38):
Prevalent in the Pike house Yeah. Because here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (54:44):
One of my favorite places on earth is Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Speaker 3 (54:47):
Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (54:48):
And one of the first times I ever was around Josh,
he was doing a joke about Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and he
also did a joke about long John Silvers and last night,
my wife and I were driving a and I was like,
she was like, what do you want for dinner? I
was like, you know, it feels like a Long John
Silver's kind of night. And she crushed me for it,
and she said, if I if I knew that was
(55:09):
what you were going to say, I'd have just stayed home.
And you know, you could have went by yourself. And
so I pulled up the clip Josh of you talking
about Gatlinburg and Long John Silvers.
Speaker 3 (55:19):
This was a point in your career.
Speaker 2 (55:21):
You were wearing a tie on stage. You had like
a nice brown half zip and a tie while you
were on stage with it was the Unsung Hero album.
That's right, What is made? What made you go from
tie to sport jacket or sport coat?
Speaker 4 (55:39):
I think if I think enough jokes about Long John
Silvers and Kathie at Gallenberg says, this guy doesn't.
Speaker 3 (55:47):
Wear ties TU track out fit time.
Speaker 4 (55:50):
Yeah, I should have been up there in an airbrushed
T shirt and cut off jean shorts. If I really
want to really deliver the kind of things that I'm
talking about.
Speaker 2 (56:00):
Every time I'm in Goatlinburg. Josh gets a text when
I'm outside the taffy store. It's unbelievable. Uh, outside of
everything you got going on comedy wise, since E Shirts
continues to just bust amazing stuff out right now. Uh,
you have the Okay Boomer Cincinnati football Tiger shirt out.
You've got the uh smells like Team Spirit, which is
(56:21):
obviously in reference to the Nirvana album cover that everyone knows,
and the Norwood Lateral for the Norwood Lateral football on
T shirt.
Speaker 3 (56:30):
How are you.
Speaker 2 (56:30):
Guys pumping these out at such an incredible level the
way you guys do?
Speaker 4 (56:36):
Uh, you're kind to say it. You guys are very
very nice to us, and and we love doing stuff
that even if we think it will only make the
two of you laugh, it is worth it for us.
The Norwood Lateral I couldnot wait to show you guys.
Paul Dayner and Mop appreciate it. Yeah, but it made
(56:59):
me laugh so hard driving on the nord Lateral just
thinking of that shirt, the Norwood later it's so dum uh.
But we're just you know, we've become known as like, uh,
not a very curated company. Right.
Speaker 3 (57:13):
You got the Dactyl shirt as well.
Speaker 4 (57:18):
The Elie Dactyl shirt, and I'll tell you what we're working.
We're finalizing our collection for the Bristol Speedway game, and
there is some great Ricky Bobby crossover.
Speaker 2 (57:30):
Will will those be offered with? Will those be offered
with no sleeves?
Speaker 4 (57:36):
They can be I mean, any shirt could be offered
with no sleeves if you've got a pair of scissors
and a will to see things through.
Speaker 2 (57:44):
You guys, Uh, you obviously, uh, you got football covered.
You got baseball covered. Obviously. It's a big weekend as
well for uh. For hell is real with FC Cincinnati
and just a real quick plug because you guys do
such amazing stuff and such hard times for people. You
guys also have the God Blessed Texas shirt going on
right now, and I know that you're going to send
proceeds to the car County Flood Relief Fund as well.
Speaker 4 (58:08):
Yeah, we partner on our in the Clutch site. We
partner with the Biggest Texas Rangers podcast, and so they
had asked us, you know, they'd seen what we had done,
like with DeMar Hamlin and some of the other stuff
that wasn't necessarily Cincinnati specific. But you know, we're very
proud of the company that we've built in the money
(58:29):
we've been able to raise for local organizations or national causes,
and it's just, you know, it's the one thing that
we can do to help. So if if people want
to help and buy a T shirt, then great. But
you know, we're always we're always happy to chip in
where we can, even if it even if it's not
a local thing.
Speaker 3 (58:49):
You've been very generous with your time today. Thanks for
spending fifteen minutes with us. Can you give us a
joke before you leave?
Speaker 2 (58:56):
Funny guy, And nothing can't be anything better than asking
a comedian be like, hey, tell me a joke.
Speaker 3 (59:03):
It's like asking Joe Burrow to throw a pass.
Speaker 4 (59:06):
We were laughing the other day because I was like,
you know, I said, you know, I tell people all
the time, and when you tell somebody your comedian, that's
what they want. And then we were watching we were
watching Joey Chestnut on the fourth of July, and I go,
you know what, some days I'm glad I'm a comedian
because I'd rather just tell somebody a joke than somebody
bring me a plate a hot dog and go, hey,
(59:27):
ethie for me. I'll think of a good one. I'll
think of a good one that's that I'll send to
you and then Tony, I want to hear you deliver it.
Speaker 2 (59:41):
That I like this one more time. It's ft Ryan,
not fat Randy. And tell folks how they can how
they can follow along.
Speaker 4 (59:50):
Just go to Disruptorcomedy dot com and you'll see it
right there on the homepage. Spend spend seven bucks man,
you just get it. You'll what you can watch it
how whatever often you want, whenever you want, and U
and I appreciate you guys as always the.
Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
Best seven dollars that anyone can spend.
Speaker 12 (01:00:08):
M M.
Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
Think about that one. Josh, thank you so much, man, Josh,
You're the best. Thanks boys, the best that is Josh
need his comedy special coming out.
Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
Nott Ryan fat Man. Josh is awesome. It just made
me think talking about Joey Chestnut. Somebody down the hall
was calling in when I was producing one of the
other shows and said that him and his wife think
they should put it. They should let a German shepherd
participate in the hot dog eating. Just put a German
(01:00:43):
shepherd up there with a plate of hot dogs and
see compared to the rest of them.
Speaker 4 (01:00:48):
It is.
Speaker 2 (01:00:48):
And I think that's a great idea. It's as funny
as it is true, though. Can you imagine, Like for Josh,
it's like, hey, tell me a joke. For Joey Chestnuts,
like hey, come in and eat some of these dogs.
Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
It's like when people see us, they ask us a
sports question right all the time. Tell me about this,
tell me his bangles.
Speaker 4 (01:01:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
For Josh, it's a funny man, tell me a joke.
Funny man, I love it. We are very appreciative of
Josh and everyone at Cincy Shirts, and they help us

Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
In the Hopper, you said, that's what you're aiming for.
Speaker 10 (01:02:46):
Hopper, what's good everybody? Tony Pike rolled in the highest
and NASCAR circles back in the day with Brad and
Dale Junior legendary partiers, Baby ex the couple drops in.
Speaker 8 (01:03:01):
The pro I don't know.
Speaker 9 (01:03:03):
He congratulations to Andrew. Hey, but who's on first?
Speaker 10 (01:03:07):
What's on second?
Speaker 6 (01:03:08):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:03:09):
I'm headed to the All Star Games.
Speaker 13 (01:03:13):
keV.
Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
Okay, keV. That's pretty good there, Kevin. keV checked in
earlier today as well. He said, off the graveyard shift
for now, let's go and dig into some skyline chill.
Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
I'll tell you what I've I've lived the graveyard shift.
That sucks. Good for Kevin.
Speaker 11 (01:03:32):
What's up, guys, Big Kahuna Kentucky. All right, great win
last night, but today's the most important game of the
first half of the season. Gotta win today because we'll
sweep the Rockies. Just to put his five over five
hundred at the All Star break. Unbelievable interview with Grootzi yesterday. Man,
that got me thinking back to him. He could get
to the top of his pocket, but he didn't like
to climb back up in the pot Tony. That's the
difference between him and you. He didn't like to climb
(01:03:54):
you did. And then are you friends with Alex Meacham?
Can you get him on? What's he doing now?
Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
Man?
Speaker 11 (01:04:00):
You see basketball loves meet them, meet.
Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
Them or tight Ma's got the shining stars running rampant
all over the AAU circuit. Man, shout out the big.
Speaker 3 (01:04:09):
Mate, township.
Speaker 14 (01:04:10):
He's up there. But by the way, I'd rather hear
sharp fingernails run across the chalkboards unlessen you ramble on.
Speaker 3 (01:04:18):
Wow, my goodness, I don't think you should be talking
to set the township, the Lord and cess. And if
you're Seth, why would you want the Lord? You don't
want he's against you? Who can be for you?
Speaker 14 (01:04:32):
The Lord doing a double dip. Hey, Tony, I can't
wait to meet up with you on vacation. I can't
wait to meet Mayor and the kids. Maybe we can
go to the Doakory deck and have a docri. This
is considered on vacation the same week you'll be on vacation.
Speaker 3 (01:04:49):
I don't know if you want to meet God on vacation.
I got one goal for vacation. I got one. Don't
don't tell, don't tell, I won't, but I got one. Hey, guys,
trymatic guy.
Speaker 9 (01:05:01):
I hope you're having a great Thursday.
Speaker 3 (01:05:03):
It's been a great week of shows.
Speaker 9 (01:05:05):
As usual, and well even Audie's done a great job.
Speaker 4 (01:05:12):
True.
Speaker 15 (01:05:12):
My question to you guys is is do you think
they'll be able to hold on to Andrew Abbit?
Speaker 16 (01:05:17):
Because I obviously I really believe he'll be a cy
young winner.
Speaker 3 (01:05:21):
I really do. I think he's that good.
Speaker 9 (01:05:24):
And do you think they should trade Hunter Green?
Speaker 3 (01:05:29):
I'm not there yet with Hunter Green. Yeah. I don't
expect them to like have issues holding on to Abbott.
I mean, if what's his contract status? He's one of
those guys just under team control for like four more years.
Are you sure?
Speaker 4 (01:05:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
I'm pretty sure, it said Andrew Rabbits signed a one
year and seventy thousand dollars contract with the Reds.
Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
It's his arbitration pre arbitration. Yeah, okay, so he he
is not an unrestricted free agent until twenty eight, twenty eight,
I think, oh, man, yeah, so it's still into like
pre arbitration and then he goes into arbitration and then
he goes into the all I wonder how many All
Stars this year are making under a million dollars. A
(01:06:12):
bunch of them. Really, there's a bunch of like first
and second year all Stars. Okay, first and second time
all Stars, I should say so, yeah, shout out to
Drew Man, Drew Abbott. I don't like that. I don't
think Drew fits him. He's an Andrew. I think they
would probably be open to trading Hunter in the offseason
(01:06:36):
if this goat continues to go poorly.
Speaker 7 (01:06:40):
Hey man, from a standpoint, drinking game standpoint, see what
I did there, it's just brutal.
Speaker 4 (01:06:50):
Man.
Speaker 7 (01:06:51):
My buddy fell off of his stool forty five minutes
into the show. Yesterday, I was reading this book called This,
and it says there's all kinds of other words you
could use, like perception or from a point of view.
Speaker 3 (01:07:11):
Ok, I got nothing.
Speaker 17 (01:07:12):
I have a start, bench cut Okay, the Arctic warbler
mhm m, the hooded warbler and the yellow warbler.
Speaker 2 (01:07:37):
Interesting now ben cut. Now none of those are the
warbler I'm most familiar with. I'm familiar with the ruby
throated warbler, so that would have been my start. But
out of those three, i'd start the hooded warbler, I
would bench the yellow warbler, and the Arctic warbler would
be cut. But make no mistake about it, ruby throated
(01:07:57):
is number one.
Speaker 3 (01:07:58):
I think they used to call you that. You see
I uh, I would start the Arctic, I would bench
the hooded, and I would cut the yellow. Is that
what it was?
Speaker 18 (01:08:11):
One man's ceiling is another man's floor. Gosh, good for Ron,
you know he George sounds close to Ripley. I'm only
about ten minutes from Ripley. Amazing. How many people were
there yesterday? Yeah, they shut it down out to the
women's tennis player. I watched about seventy five percent of it.
(01:08:31):
Go red, white and blue.
Speaker 3 (01:08:33):
Oh yeah, go America there.
Speaker 19 (01:08:38):
Baby, says my man tone speaking on the microphone.
Speaker 3 (01:08:45):
A couple of cheap cologne. Oh I don't think I've
ever heard I've ever been around you where you're wearing
some sort of cologne. Now, I don't think I've ever
smelled like I've never heard smelled you never smelled bad,
thank you, But I don't think i've I've ever been
like Tony smells good. Yeah, I keep it neutral.
Speaker 20 (01:09:03):
Okay, Hey, guys, it's boom Er drew from One Happy Thursday.
I think Santiago Espanal is a player that every team covets.
Can do a lot, play many many positions and uh,
just very effective. But he's not really an everyday player.
Nouelvie Marte is got the biggest upside of anybody on
(01:09:25):
this team. Uh in two years, I've got a plan
that he's going to be a superstar, he mark my words. Guys,
have a good day.
Speaker 3 (01:09:34):
Okay. I kind of feel that way too, like Marte
has maybe the biggest ceiling of any of them, including Ellie.
Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
Do you know earlier in the show we talked about
the Yankees and they designated le may Hoo for your assignment? Yeah,
do you know they released him since they have moved
on from DJ Lemayhew.
Speaker 3 (01:09:52):
Do you know he was hitting to sixty six this year.
It wasn't like he was awful. I thought he was
pretty awful.
Speaker 2 (01:09:58):
He was in two sixty six in one hundred and
forty two played appearances.
Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
I thought it was like he was he like in
the midst of like a terrible twenty twenty four hit
two oh four sixty six. What's he done in his
last seven games? Oh, I don't know. I don't have
that pulled up.
Speaker 4 (01:10:14):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:10:15):
See, these are the things you're gonna make me look up.
But from a tea at from a year standpoint, I
mean two sixty six, you'd take it. I'd take him
at third. Well, actually, look at this. Over his last
seven games, he's hitting three sixty eight. Over his last
fifteen games, he's hitting three ten. Make the call. Over
his last thirty games, he's hitting two eighty. He's a
(01:10:37):
two time batting champ. He's an infielder. He can play second,
he can also play third. Yep, I believe he has
a gold glove at third, right, a couple of gold
gloves at third?
Speaker 16 (01:10:47):
Maybe?
Speaker 3 (01:10:47):
Oh, come on, I'd have to double check that. Come on,
I screw it, go sign him, love it? Who cares?
Love it? Do it? Come here and hit two oh.
Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
Four to sixty six would put him there a second
third on the team.
Speaker 3 (01:11:00):
Put him in the m v P race. Put him
in the fore hall.
Speaker 21 (01:11:03):
Hello, this is former president Ronald Rank them, Rank them, okay,
second baseman Scooter, Jeannette, Jonathan India and Matt McLean Oh
no oh and by the way, do you know what
Josh Need's middle name is?
Speaker 3 (01:11:19):
No, Sam, that's good. Rank them. Uh, I'll go Jindy
start bench, McLean cut Scoot. I'll do that too. That
one works for me.
Speaker 9 (01:11:36):
Yeah. This is Mike from Moore's Hill. I bet you
stopped paying Hunter Green. I bet he comes back to
work pretty fast.
Speaker 3 (01:11:47):
I hate that. That's not the way to go. That's
not the way.
Speaker 22 (01:11:51):
Hunter Green's injury reminds me of a classic Dave Lapham quote.
Speaker 3 (01:11:55):
Loose going is a happy going yep ye ye. Another
a great Dave Lapham quote is, uh, the best ability
is availability?
Speaker 7 (01:12:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
I like.
Speaker 23 (01:12:07):
I feel like Hunter Green's rehabit is so slow. The
guy takes forever to come back from an injury, slower
than a Jose Travino curveball, slower than fat Randy Bullock
limping off the fake calf injury. Both He's even slower
than Rodney Simpson sending talkback winners there.
Speaker 4 (01:12:25):
Since he.
Speaker 3 (01:12:29):
Was going to say, be nice to ride goodness. Listen.
It is a very very very stressful time for our
promotions department because the fireworks are coming up and it
is their super Bowl. So I asked you to be
patient with everyone.
Speaker 24 (01:12:49):
Doll.
Speaker 3 (01:12:50):
Yeah check it in what up man.
Speaker 11 (01:12:56):
South Carolina?
Speaker 9 (01:12:59):
Did you will be see?
Speaker 3 (01:13:01):
So listen to the Oaks man, listen to the show.
Let's go there we go, bear Cat, Well, thank you
for listening in from the Ocean. I have so much
respect for people that make us a part of their vacation. Yeah,
because like, yeah, the fact that like that's crazy to me,
(01:13:26):
you know what I mean, Like you're not going to
listen to the show next week. I mean, I get it,
it's your job, right, so you are a vacation, but like,
what of the normal things that you consume on a
daily basis are you going to consume on vacation? I
feel like I do everything differently. Yeah, So it means
a lot to me that.
Speaker 2 (01:13:46):
People, Yeah, taking time out of your vacation to still
make us a part of it is awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:13:51):
Really, I know, in all.
Speaker 4 (01:13:52):
Honesty, Hey, guys, Hey guys.
Speaker 25 (01:13:56):
Two weeks ago, I got to meet Ellie daily Cruz.
Youngest daughter was with me.
Speaker 3 (01:14:01):
Oh.
Speaker 25 (01:14:01):
It was at an event in Mason. He even gave
me a trophy because I hit a home run during
home Run derby.
Speaker 9 (01:14:09):
Great guy.
Speaker 25 (01:14:09):
I asked him what his favorite movie was and he said,
scary movies.
Speaker 3 (01:14:13):
I gotta start bench Cup for you. Nikosavsky Vertigo nineteen ninety.
Speaker 25 (01:14:18):
Sean Marshall Shoulder issues twenty thirteen, fourteen, twenty fifteen, Hunter
Green Twisties.
Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
Man, I'll start, I'll start Sean Marshall with the shoulder.
Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
Oh my gosh, I'll cut Vertigo and I'll I'll bench Twisties.
That reminds me you used to hang out with Sean Marshall.
What fishing with Sean Marshall a couple of times and
I texted him Sean Marshall October fourth, twenty twenty two
at nine to fifty eight am. Yeah, I said, Hey, Sean,
this is Austin for me SPN fifteen thirty. I wanted
(01:14:53):
to know if you're free to come on and talk
baseball and this wild fishing story with Tony Pike, who
you may remember from back in the day. Let me know,
not thanks, it is still delivered. No no red receipt,
not even a read receipt. It's just delivered. Sean.
Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
I know you're probably listening. Man, love you on the show.
Speaker 3 (01:15:13):
Sean Marshall is dead to me at the moment for
not responding to that. I'm gonna start, Sean, I'll cut
Nikosaski and I'm our bench Nikosaski, and I'm gonna cut
Hunter Greens.
Speaker 26 (01:15:23):
Twisted Mamas. Don't let your babies grow up to be
Reds fans. Wow, don't let him watch Jilly with some
guy he looks. Let him watch Dodgers and Yankees and such. Mamas.
Don't let babies grow up to be Reds fans, man,
(01:15:48):
cause they just start drinking and then they'll be thinking
that the Reds have a shot.
Speaker 3 (01:15:55):
Gosh, pretty good. That is pretty good. Brilliant.
Speaker 23 (01:15:59):
A brighter note, Thank the Lord for streak stopper Andrew Abbott.
Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
Dude was fantastic last night.
Speaker 23 (01:16:05):
Hey, do you guys know what?
Speaker 3 (01:16:06):
Andrew Abbot's middle name.
Speaker 23 (01:16:07):
Is quite, which is funny because that's how often he
gets hitters out, and he is every bit of an
all star congrati making the Midsummer Classic next week. Looking
forward to seeing that. Hopefully the Reds are going a
little run before then. Enjoy the day, fellows.
Speaker 19 (01:16:27):
To having a great week here in camp, David Klingler,
Ronnie showed me all the ropes when I got here.
We've made a few improvements to the place, lots of
cabinets to.
Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
Store necessities that John needs.
Speaker 9 (01:16:49):
I don't think Ronnie cares much.
Speaker 3 (01:16:51):
For the sauce. Got a question for you. I wonder
if he's found Nancy's secret stash over there.
Speaker 22 (01:17:02):
And now it's time for who am I? I was
drafted in twenty twelve out of Texas A and m
into the majors. A lot of people call me by
my nickname Billy. In twenty sixteen, I finished third in
the Rookie of the Year race?
Speaker 4 (01:17:14):
Who am I?
Speaker 22 (01:17:16):
Former Reds outfielder Tyler and Aquin stay tuned the inside
pitches next, So good great job.
Speaker 13 (01:17:29):
Austin who Bengal's Pro shop selling T shirts and hats
and jerseys and socks.
Speaker 4 (01:17:36):
He got the call one stormy night, Hello, switchboards, faders
and mics, top and spoils, Red's Bengal's malls.
Speaker 3 (01:17:46):
You better what bod He knows the score. Yeah, but
Tony Pie ring it by his side. He works right
next door to the FBI. Okay, that might be my
new show intro. Good one. That is good, Holy, no goodness,
I missed the pro shot days man simpler times.
Speaker 26 (01:18:08):
I tried to buy some Sincy shirts for the Fourth
of July sale and there was no Sincy three sixty shirts.
Speaker 3 (01:18:14):
That's not true. You can get them printed up. Yeah,
at any Sinsy Shirts location. Surely there's some sort of misunderstanding.
Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
You can go in, you can show them to print
it up. Yeah, I got mine. I got mine all
ready to go for vacation. You're wearing one right now.
Speaker 3 (01:18:29):
I am wearing blue As.
Speaker 27 (01:18:33):
Anyways, you know they used to be along John Silver's
and uh, I know, but it's gone.
Speaker 4 (01:18:42):
It was replaced with a pet cremation facility.
Speaker 3 (01:18:47):
But to replace.
Speaker 26 (01:18:49):
Delicious fish like foods smothered in seed oil for pet
cremation ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (01:18:58):
It's like, it is true. That is a pet cremation
place now and I frequented that is John's and Blue Ash.
This is the name of a pet cremation place. I'll
find out what does it say pet cremation? I'll find out.
Is it like something like tender hearts? You know roses.
This sounds like a cemetery. I I didn't go to
(01:19:22):
Long John's for the the fish. You there for the chicken. Dude,
you gotta get that fish there. Do they still do
the Long John's with the A and W root beers.
I think the combined stores. I think so that. I
mean as a kid that has good victuals right there now, also.
Speaker 2 (01:19:42):
To the Talkbacker. Before that, I went to Cinti Shirts
dot com. I hit the search bar, I typed in
Cinty three sixty and the first thing that came up
was our Cincy three sixty shirt. If you go down
a little bit further, you can get the Cincy three
sixty retro wrap tea with Austin and I's mug.
Speaker 3 (01:20:00):
I thought of it. My dad was wearing that in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Ask all that caught a little double a baseball Harrisburg
Senators and he was repping since he three to six.
And if you go to Harrisburg Sentators, by the way,
that's where Brandon Phillips played minor league baseball. Anyways, if
you go into the store and you don't see it,
in the store. Pull that up on your phone or
(01:20:21):
ask them and they can make it right there. So
that's another piece of advice for any shirt cut off
with carry through.
Speaker 22 (01:20:32):
Those are the words island By.
Speaker 3 (01:20:35):
Yeah, that's Drew, Drew's king of the cutoffs. I've cut
the sleeves off of like three shirts over the last week.
Speaker 4 (01:20:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:20:41):
But the thing with Drew, he can pull the cutoff
off correct. Not everybody can't. No, I'll never wear a
cutoff in public. No, I can't. I don't have the
body for that. Tony.
Speaker 28 (01:20:51):
This is picnic Pete from Long John Silvers Pauline, and
I want to thank you for learringing endorsements of our products.
Next time I'm here at the restaurant, let the server
know who you are and you'll get two free hush puppies.
I've got Pyrate tats on me. Just remember to tell
them that peg Leg Pete cinch.
Speaker 3 (01:21:13):
What are we doing? This is like an old days talk?
Speaker 4 (01:21:16):
Is?
Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
This is like the early days? Man, peg Legs checking.
Speaker 29 (01:21:20):
Tony George from the Valley, Tony, way to go out?
You'd rather see Marte play than esmin all that's a
I just want to thank you guys. For the tickets,
getting ready to go down to the game.
Speaker 4 (01:21:32):
Drink.
Speaker 29 (01:21:33):
Some beers switch, some eaters have a great time, watch
old Dominion, Nice?
Speaker 3 (01:21:39):
What what reads?
Speaker 19 (01:21:40):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (01:21:41):
At Long John's people would ask like sides of essentially
just like crumbles yeah I'm talking about yeah, yeah. It
was like the crumbly pieces that fell off the chicken.
People wanted that.
Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
As a sign. I know the name. I know there's
a name for it, but I can. It's driving me
nuts that I can't think of. Somebody will, somebody is
correcting us. Ye Ken from the.
Speaker 8 (01:21:58):
Left here shut out out to Josh Snead.
Speaker 3 (01:22:02):
I stopped in at Sincy.
Speaker 8 (01:22:03):
Shirts and Fort Mitchell yesterday and used my thirty dollars
gift card that I had one course on all day
Kentucky shirt and I went to the Reds Hall of
Fame in museum. While I was in there, I shed
it here thinking about how great the Reds used to
be and how they suck.
Speaker 3 (01:22:21):
Now our ridge. Damn man, it hurts can. I've been
waiting for Johnny's question for like eight talkbacks now he
never left another no.
Speaker 21 (01:22:33):
Double dipper gipper here and well I can vouch personally
for the quality of that, Josh Sneed special tonight. As
fate would have it, Me and about twelve other people
happened to be walking through OTR at the time of
the filming. We saw some panhandlewners getting a little aggressive
up ahead, so we ducked into Memorial Hall just as
they started filming. We enjoyed ourselves so much. I think
(01:22:56):
I lost three pounds. I laughed so hard, and on
the way back to work ours only two of us
got muggs.
Speaker 3 (01:23:02):
Okay, tr is not that bad, you guys. Come on,
Josh Need don't got a cuss in his comedy to
sell some belt. Well I do, so forget him and
forget you too.
Speaker 9 (01:23:19):
I think I give a damn about a family.
Speaker 3 (01:23:21):
Oh man, Only so many people get that one.
Speaker 11 (01:23:25):
Good.
Speaker 3 (01:23:25):
That is a great one from Jake. Is the best
talkbacks we've had months.
Speaker 4 (01:23:32):
Yeah to the guy playing god once again.
Speaker 6 (01:23:35):
I don't know who you are, but I don't think
your corn bread's done in the middle.
Speaker 25 (01:23:39):
But do you think Tony wants to hang out with
you on vacation and you're clueless out?
Speaker 3 (01:23:48):
I think your corn bread's done in the middle. This
is awesome and I agree with that. Also, I hope
you guys run into each show. Well, you know where
I'll be most days, Tony, There's no such thing as
a ruby threaded warbler. It's a ruby threaded hummingbird known
as the warbler, ruby throated toned pike, also known as
(01:24:11):
the redneck coming bird. They call it all right, don't
be offensive. And this is set from since Countba No.
Speaker 27 (01:24:20):
I think it's proof that God is not God because
my God, our God, the God of All, would never
drink dakyries on a dakery deck.
Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
Ridiculous.
Speaker 27 (01:24:35):
And if you're God, do me a favor, I'll release
the epstein lest I want to know.
Speaker 9 (01:24:41):
Protect the children.
Speaker 4 (01:24:42):
God, do something.
Speaker 3 (01:24:46):
A new level of talk facts today. My God, our God,
the God of All, would never drink dhakyries. He did
turn all that water into wine. Though, oh man to
this is unreal. Does the Lord have your itinerary, the
(01:25:06):
Siesta key or something?
Speaker 8 (01:25:08):
Good?
Speaker 3 (01:25:08):
Luck with that? Having him watch over you the whole time?
That ain't good, but I guess it's better than nothing. Right,
Sure they have him there.
Speaker 4 (01:25:19):
Love John Silvers, the official fish.
Speaker 9 (01:25:23):
Product of the.
Speaker 3 (01:25:27):
Awestome. I looked up. This is my Google search.
Speaker 2 (01:25:30):
I just googled what were the crumbs from long John
Silver's called and what the most responses are crispies. People
ask for extra crispies. Someone on here wrote, I think
they're deep fried dust particles.
Speaker 3 (01:25:44):
They taste good.
Speaker 4 (01:25:47):
Do you like them?
Speaker 6 (01:25:48):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:25:48):
Yeah, okay, I was gonna say, oh yeah, very rare
for you to actually like something that other people like. Correct,
but yeah, crispies. I guess, uh one more? Please just
came in at the buzzer. Please, let's see. Just let
me just do my a little double check here. All right,
here we go.
Speaker 4 (01:26:13):
Telling me ever.
Speaker 9 (01:26:17):
Every time.
Speaker 3 (01:26:20):
Asking my question anymore, because I've tried to leave like
forty talkbacks repeating the same sex question. Thanks Johnny. Johnny's
obviously having some issues. I don't know if his corn
bread is done in the middle of today or not.
But all right, Oh Mike, we have h that was phenomenal.
Speaker 2 (01:26:41):

Do you know the top three cash crops from Maine?
(01:29:09):
Cash crops remain in the top three cash?
Speaker 3 (01:29:12):
I don't know. That's potatoes, blueberries, and apples. Actually I
did know potatoes. Do you know, because they do like
potato based doughnuts up there? Sensational. Do you know what
the longest breakwater in the state of Maine is? I
don't know what a breakwater is. What's a breakwater.
Speaker 2 (01:29:29):
It's it's kind of like what what goes out as
rocks to kind of break the water up from coming in.
Speaker 3 (01:29:35):
It's the Rockland breakwater. Okay, good to know, I guess, yeah,
is this isn't the question? You don't really know your No,
I don't know my breakwater. You don't know your breakwaters.
I've only been to Maine once. I haven't stopped thinking
about it since. All right, well let's go to the callers.
All right, let's start with Drew in Cincinnati.
Speaker 4 (01:29:54):
Going on, Palla, how are you what up?
Speaker 3 (01:29:56):

Speaker 3 (01:30:06):
Are you a good golfer?
Speaker 17 (01:30:09):

Speaker 4 (01:30:09):
I'd say I'm probably a six handycat.
Speaker 3 (01:30:11):
Oh my goodness. Okay, well then all you need to
tell me the way this is the institution of the
three second clock starts today. Yep, are you ready to.
Speaker 1 (01:30:23):

Speaker 4 (01:30:23):
Kind of like the bangals changing the rules up on
me last second, Drew, all.
Speaker 2 (01:30:29):
I need to know the the The debut of Cooper
Flag is tonight. He played his high school ball, obviously
in the Great State of Maine. What I need to
know is another NBA player who also played high school
ball in the state of Maine.
Speaker 22 (01:30:42):
Oh three second shot clocks two one?
Speaker 3 (01:30:53):
Sorry, thanks Drew, Darryl and Batavia. What do you got?
Speaker 6 (01:30:58):
Uh?
Speaker 9 (01:30:59):
I got an Alton.
Speaker 4 (01:31:00):
I don't watch basketball?
Speaker 9 (01:31:02):
All right?
Speaker 4 (01:31:02):
Done?
Speaker 3 (01:31:03):
Shut out, Daryl, Thank you, Darryl about Scott and Dayton.
Speaker 4 (01:31:08):
Duncan Robinson.
Speaker 3 (01:31:11):
Is that correct, Tony, He's not on my list? Okay,
all right, Tony, thank you about Cody and Batavia.
Speaker 9 (01:31:20):
In the Bearcat legend, Dermar Johnson playing Maine.
Speaker 2 (01:31:25):
Oh Man, Tony, Now I'm in trouble. So I have
a I have a legit friend of mine from Maine.
This is correct, that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:31:37):
Dermar Johnson played high school ball Pittsfield, Maine at the
Main Central Institute. Went on to play college ball at
Cincinnati and was a first round pick sixth overall in
the two thousand NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. Dermar
Johnson unbelievable three rs in his first name. Believable, Bengo,
(01:32:03):
ben Go, Bengo Bongo. Congrats, Cody, I will say. Duncan
Robinson played in New Hampshire. Okay, so here's close to
me that makes you feel better. Do you know how
many lighthouses are in Maine? A lot? Take a guess
a crap ton? Four hundred and sixty two? How many?
Sixty five? Oh it's only off.
Speaker 2 (01:32:20):
But thanks to Big John for your awesome trivia question.
Big bad John, Uh shout out. Yeah, your friend gave
you that question. He's from Maine. Yeah, but he gave
me all this.
Speaker 3 (01:32:31):
Does that mean he's a reliable source? He acts like
he is. I don't believe anything you've said. He didn't
any The answer you were looking for was Sam Cassell,
which we would have accepted that. But I mean, how
do we know, I mean, this guy clearly, how do
we know that that's accurate on lighthouses? How do we
know that that's accurate on any of that other stuff?
(01:32:51):
It's a great question. He probably trusted Google. Cody. Are
you fired up to play some golf at GABP Man?
Speaker 4 (01:32:57):
I am.
Speaker 15 (01:32:58):
You know I've been looking into it.
Speaker 4 (01:32:59):
I'm a terrible I'm only going for my third time
this Saturday, but I still think it'll be a good time.
Speaker 3 (01:33:03):
Okay, awesome, Well hold on, I'll get your information during
the break right on.
Speaker 4 (01:33:08):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (01:33:09):
Yes, Santavilla. Now, Maine is known as the Lighthouse state. Yes,
they do have sixty five historical lighthouses. So back ground
on my phone right now is the which one? It's
the Portland Headlight. Wow, the most beautiful sight I've ever
seen with my own eyes.
Speaker 3 (01:33:23):
How about that? Yeah? Outside of like a fall day
at pay Course Stadium.
Speaker 2 (01:33:29):
Our three is coming up next outside of Major League Baseball,
turning to robot imps in the All Star Game.
Speaker 3 (01:33:36):
We also have to.
Speaker 2 (01:33:37):
Show has been Scott Saderfield spoke Tuesday at Big twelve
Media Day. We have that audio that we'll get to
when we come back. While we're going to talk to
Bob Man, Jean and Mulagger will join us for quick hits.
All coming up in our three of cinty three to

Sports Station.
Speaker 1 (01:33:56):
Do you feel like East Coast sub sincey three sixty
of Bound Cincinnati from Cincinnatis, sponsored in part by Penn
Station East Coast Subs handcrafted hot grilled subs, fresh cut
fries and lemonade. It's all about good taste. Pennstation East
Coast Subs order online today this is ESPN fifteen thirty
Cincinnati Sports Station.
Speaker 2 (01:34:21):
All right, welcome back, welcome to our number three and
thanks for listening on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
You heard right there, thanks to our friends at Penn Station.
This happened earlier in the week, but we have been
so caught up Austin with some Reds, some Bengals and
other things, we've not been able to get to this yet.
But the head coach of the Cincinnati Bearcats. Obviously a
(01:34:43):
critical season coming up for Scott's Sadlefield and the Bearcats.
Speaker 3 (01:34:45):
They have to win.
Speaker 2 (01:34:46):
They've got to win now. In the Big twelve year two.
They've spent the money, they've retained a core group of
their roster, and without media polls happening, I don't really
know how to view where they're at. I know that
the foundation is there that any coach in the country
we would want to build upon to have a bounce
back or a successful season. But here is Scott Sadderfield
(01:35:08):
at the podium from Big twelve Media Day.
Speaker 8 (01:35:10):
Thank you.
Speaker 15 (01:35:10):
Yeah, just first of all, honored to be here representing
University of Cincinnati, and you know, very excited.
Speaker 9 (01:35:18):
What a great venue here in Frisco, Texas. Awesome to
be here.
Speaker 15 (01:35:22):
For the first thing I want to acknowledge being here
in Texas is the Texas flood victims. Been watching it
on the news and incredible what happened there. And thoughts
and prayers are going out to those family. They cannot
imagine what they're going through. I want to make sure
I recognize that. And just you know, talking about our
(01:35:43):
players that are here represented Cincinnati, we bought four really
really outstanding human beings. I want to recognize those guys.
Quarterback Brendan Sowersby, who played high school at Lake Dallas
not too far from here, so he's back here. He's
actually played in this stadium right here, so very familiar
with this. But he's a great leader and a great player.
(01:36:05):
In a league full of great quarterbacks, I think he's
one of them. Joe Royer are tight end of first
team all Big twelve tight ends.
Speaker 8 (01:36:13):
With this.
Speaker 9 (01:36:15):
Player that's from Cincinnati that is a great, great tight
end and a great player.
Speaker 4 (01:36:21):
You know.
Speaker 15 (01:36:21):
I think he's got a really, really bright future ahead
of him. Glad he's here with us here today. Gavin
Garhart is our starting center. Gavin will be a three
time captain coming up this fall for us, a tremendous leader,
one of our best leaders on our whole football team,
and most respected player that we have, you know, playing
the center.
Speaker 9 (01:36:40):
Position for us.
Speaker 15 (01:36:41):
And then Dante Corleone, the Godfather, is also from Cincinnati,
and he's a really really good player as well and
kind of the anchor of our defense and the defensive line.
Speaker 9 (01:36:54):
So I just want to make sure I recognize those
four guys.
Speaker 15 (01:36:57):
They represent our college, they represent our football team, and
in a great way. We've had a great off season.
Excited about our football team this year.
Speaker 9 (01:37:07):
You know we're we're coming. Brought back a lot of
great players. I just mentioned four of them.
Speaker 15 (01:37:11):
All four of these guys had opportunities either go to
the NFL or or obviously go to some other programs
and decided to stick it out with us and come
back and and have a great season for them.
Speaker 9 (01:37:22):
It starts with that.
Speaker 15 (01:37:23):
We were able to add some some great players in
the portal this offseason of where we we needed and
had some deficiencies. I think we added some great speed,
particularly at the wide receiver room, which we needed to
be able to do that in order to have some
some more big plays on the field. I think we
are much more explosive football team this year, and and
(01:37:45):
then defensively in the secondary needed to add some depth
there as well. So excited about the team that we
got coming and coming out this year. I know this
league is outstanding from top to bottom. Any team I
think is certainly capable of winning the Big Will and
including the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Speaker 9 (01:38:02):
So with that, I'll open up with questions again.
Speaker 3 (01:38:05):
If you have a question, please raise your hand till
we have a microphone holder.
Speaker 4 (01:38:08):
Sambayu.
Speaker 3 (01:38:09):
We'll go here center right.
Speaker 30 (01:38:10):
Hey, coach Keegan Nicholson with barricat journal, you brought in
multiple starter level receivers, already have Joe Royer on the roster.
How do you kind of go about managing expectations there
the season when you have so many guys who can
rack up yardage?
Speaker 15 (01:38:27):
Yeah, you got one football, So I mean all those
guys are gonna want to want to, you know, catch
the ball or or carry the ball. You know, Tylie
Walkers are running back that we brought in what we
think could be really good for us.
Speaker 9 (01:38:39):
You know, I think I think we want to have
you know, good balance across the way on the.
Speaker 15 (01:38:43):
Offense, you know, so I mean, Joey Roller had fifty
catches last year. Love for him to be able to
have fifty catches again next year. We'll see how it goes,
you know. But these guys on the outside are going
to need their touches as well. In order for our
offense to be able to score points and move the football,
We're going to have to distribute the football that everybody
have some touches. I think we have enough talent out
(01:39:03):
there that all the guys can be able to make
plays on it on the perimeter. If you are being
able to stretch the field vertically and horizontally, it's going
to open up for the running game and allow the
running backs to be able to get their touches. So
I think we got to do a great job of
distributing the football allowing all the guys to feel part
of the offense and therefore defenses don't really know can't
(01:39:24):
key on one guy. And I think that's going to
be really important as we find our identity for our
offense this year and how we can maneuver through that.
Speaker 9 (01:39:32):
We'll go center right in the back Tyler bud Steef.
Speaker 12 (01:39:37):
But coach, I got a two parter for you Firstly,
I've had people reaching out to me and some people
taking notice that you went from your iconic advisor look
to more of a full hat look and some practices
and stuff. Was that an intentional change? Yes, Hello, maybe
they cut my mic. That is a terrible question.
Speaker 4 (01:39:57):
Fair.
Speaker 12 (01:39:59):
But outside of that, got a big neutral site opener
to the season against Nebraska. What do you like about
that opportunity to sort of showcase your team to start
the season.
Speaker 9 (01:40:08):
Yeah, we're excited about the first game.
Speaker 15 (01:40:09):
You know, the Nebraska's coach rule has obviously done a
great job there building getting that program back.
Speaker 9 (01:40:16):
You know, went to a bowl game last year.
Speaker 15 (01:40:18):
Uh, they did some really good things in the portal
of this off season, brought in some great players, some linemen, receivers,
and defensive players.
Speaker 4 (01:40:26):
You know.
Speaker 9 (01:40:26):
Now we're playing in a neutral site.
Speaker 15 (01:40:27):
That's going to be exciting to play it in Kansas City,
you know, opening up on a Thursday night on ESPN.
I mean, it's a great gauge for our football team
kind of to see where we're we're you.
Speaker 9 (01:40:37):
Know we're at.
Speaker 15 (01:40:39):
It's it's one of these games too, you know, it's
the first game of the season, so as you know,
you're not playing, you know, a SCS team or something
to start a year. I mean, we feel like we've
got to be hitting on all silners when you're when
you're starting the season playing against a team like Nebraska.
So there's been a little bit more sensitive urgency I
think in our building throughout the summer of getting ready
for this first game, and we know it will be.
Speaker 9 (01:40:58):
A great challenge and it's great test obviously looking forward
to that. Gentlemen in the Marine Cap.
Speaker 31 (01:41:06):
Scott Springer from Cincinnati end quirk. If you have to
play your first two seasons minus an indoor facility, now
you have this majestic structure. What does it meant in
terms of getting new kids and how important is that
in today's world of college football.
Speaker 15 (01:41:21):
Yeah, I mean, it's just hard to put it into
words what this building has really meant to our program.
Even we moved into it a couple of weeks ago.
You know, when you walk into the building, you basically
put some smile on your face. It's it's bright, it's airy,
it's it's big, it's has a lot of volume to it.
Every place you go in the building, you see a player,
(01:41:42):
which I love. The connection that we have with our
with our current team, I think is incredible. You know that,
not even talking about the indoor I mean that that
is awesome itself. To be able to go right outside
and practice inside of our indoor facility there. It's the
connection in the building is tremendous with the locker room,
training room, and room all there. We have a cafeteria
in there for all our student athletes to come and
(01:42:04):
be able to eat their meals there inside the building.
Speaker 9 (01:42:08):
But you mentioned recruiting, I mean we're in a in
a world where recruiting is that's where it's at. I mean,
you got to recruit, you have to retain your players.
Speaker 15 (01:42:15):
You got to recruit high school players and to transfer
portal and and for them to be able to them
to walk into that building, it's different and and they're
you know, it's a smile on their.
Speaker 9 (01:42:23):
Face when they walk in and see that facility as well.
Speaker 15 (01:42:25):
And we have all the modalities for enhancement and recovery
to be able to develop our players. And that's what
it's all about. It's player development. We've always been about
player development, will always be about it. And we can
develop our players inside this building. So we can't wait
for this and it's going to really enhance our team,
I think as we move forward in the future.
Speaker 9 (01:42:43):
A gentleman in the second row.
Speaker 24 (01:42:46):
All right, coach Lynn Harrington stale line power five.
Speaker 3 (01:42:49):
How you doing today? Great? That's good.
Speaker 24 (01:42:51):
So to follow up with your opening matchup at Earlheads
Stadium with Nebraska, what do you know about coach Matt Rule?
And with you coming off a couple of losing campaigns,
how important will it be for you to kick off
the season.
Speaker 4 (01:43:04):
I'm gonna win?
Speaker 3 (01:43:04):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:43:05):
The coach Rules obviously an outstanding coach.
Speaker 15 (01:43:08):
You know, he's come up through the ranks, coached at
small schools, coach in the NFL, was a head coach
in the NFL. He's done some great things throughout his career.
The thing about his teams, they continue to grow and
get better and better. I think year three has always
been a good year for him in his career. His
teams are are gonna be big, they're gonna be physical,
(01:43:29):
They're obviously gonna be coach well, they're gonna do the
little things right.
Speaker 6 (01:43:32):
Uh.
Speaker 15 (01:43:33):
You know, So again a great test for us to
be able to play a team like Nebraska. And you know,
I also think you know, you're playing a team from
another conference where it's a great measuring stick, you know,
to see where we're at, you know, compared to you know,
the Big Twelve to their conference, and you know it's
a neutral site, so you know it's gonna be a
(01:43:54):
you know, outstanding atmosphere for this game. It'll be it'll
be full of people, obviously, sure it'll be a sellout
and I'll be a bunch of people wearing red at
this game.
Speaker 9 (01:44:02):
So so I think it'll be awesome atmosphere in a
great game.
Speaker 3 (01:44:06):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:44:06):
There is a part of the head coach of the
Cincinnati Bearcats, Scott Saderfield's comments at Big Twelve media day,
you ready to run through a wall?
Speaker 4 (01:44:12):
Now?
Speaker 3 (01:44:13):
A couple of Nebraska questions, A couple of Nebraska questions?
Switching did he from the the advisor to a hat?
A lot of people interested in that Nebraska game. I
will be.
Speaker 2 (01:44:25):
What's the word I'm looking for for how I will
be around the office around that game. That's a great question,
because I suck with the language of English.
Speaker 3 (01:44:35):
Anyway. Yeah, maybe insufferable is a good term. Insufferable prior
to and extremely insufferable.
Speaker 2 (01:44:42):
Should the Bearcats win insufferable prior night before, incredibly insufferable.
For those who don't know our boss, our market president
DJ Hodge, who we love, is a huge, huge Nebraska fan,
and any chance he gets, he'll talk to you and
Mo about the Huskers, about the Huskers and the Bearcats.
Speaker 3 (01:45:05):
This has been Ahead Stadium, but it was originally going
to be an indie, and so between now and the
start of the season, that is going to ramp up
to the point where I'm worried Tony could get fired.
If the Bearcats win and he comes filing in on Monday.
Speaker 2 (01:45:22):
What a way to go out that would be, though,
What a way to go It'd be worth it on
the heels of the Bearcats.
Speaker 3 (01:45:28):
That'd be pretty funny.
Speaker 2 (01:45:29):
We're gonna take a break when we come back each
and every week we get a chance to talk to
our guy, Bob Manjean from the University of Cincinnati and Novacare.
He'll join us next on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
Speaker 3 (01:45:39):
Thanks to Penn Station, now your chance to WINNFL.
Speaker 1 (01:45:42):
He is back on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
Speaker 3 (01:45:52):
Welcome back.
Speaker 2 (01:45:53):
I remember along year sincey three sixty on ESPN fifteen
thirty Cincinnati Sports Station thanks to our friends with Penn Station.
Speaker 3 (01:46:01):
You know who he is.
Speaker 2 (01:46:02):
He's our resident Novacare and you see basketball athletic trainer
expert Bob man Jean is joining us right now.
Speaker 3 (01:46:09):
Bob, How are you, Tony. It's a great day.
Speaker 6 (01:46:12):
I'm in sunny Nashville and you know, at a big
sports menaceine meeting, learning all about some new innovative techniques
that's coming our way, hopefully shortly, to make athletes lives
a little bit better.
Speaker 2 (01:46:25):
You are well traveled as of late. We didn't get
to talk to you last week. I tried to get
in touch with you and you text me back, quote, Tony,
I'm on a mountain in Kentucky. I'm sorry, dude. I
have to ask, did you actually hike up a mountain
or did you drive up the mountain and wade on
your lovely wife and meet her when.
Speaker 3 (01:46:44):
She hiked to the top.
Speaker 6 (01:46:47):
No, I actually hiked to the top. And you know,
we've always talked about going the natural bridge down there
in you know, eastern Kentucky, and it was a one
mile high that they failed to tell me was completely
uphill both way. By the time I reach the top.
By the time I reached the top, needless to say,
(01:47:09):
I was not in any condition to have a conversation.
Speaker 4 (01:47:12):
What are my age?
Speaker 6 (01:47:13):
You're just happy to make it.
Speaker 3 (01:47:14):
What type of shoes are you using when you hike
easy striders? You stopping them up?
Speaker 6 (01:47:21):
I'm wearing good quality hiking shoes or good support so
when I slip on the rocks in the sand, I
don't lose too much balance.
Speaker 4 (01:47:30):
You know, you see me on the sideline where I lose.
Speaker 6 (01:47:34):
My balance every now and then.
Speaker 2 (01:47:35):
I want to take a few minutes a day to
discuss foot injuries because it feels like that's the one injury,
whether it's the ankle or a part of the foot,
that can just be that nagging injury that continues to
give people fits. We see it in basketball the time,
where it feels like if someone has one or two
ankle injuries, that rolls over into even more is let's
(01:47:57):
just start from an annoyance level with an athletic trainer.
Is that one of the more common things you're dealing
with as people with different foot injuries.
Speaker 6 (01:48:06):
Well, when you look at at the let's call it
the ankle foot complex, the number one injury that you
see in sports is usually the ankle itself, and those
are pretty common. I mean, if you look at basketball,
for example, it accounts for the number one injured body part.
And again, ankles are pretty you know, they're pretty common,
(01:48:28):
so you know, they follow a pretty common rehab routine
unless they're like a high ankle spring. The ones that
are more severe, the ones that go out in front
of the ankle or what we call foot injuries, especially
midfoot fifth minute tarsal areas. So you have, like a
fancy name for a midfoot sprain is carlz frank spring
(01:48:50):
and it's a really odd combination. You don't see it
very often fortunately, but you know you'll see it in
football when a kid lands with his toes down and
somebody comes on the back of his foot when they land,
you'll see an investment. And actually we had one in
basketball in the last year to where one of our
(01:49:11):
big guys came down wrong and landing on somebody else's foot.
And midfoot sprains need to be taken care of. They're
not anything to mess with. So if you're playing tennis
or whatever or pick a ball and you really get
that foot caught and you start getting pain in front
(01:49:31):
of the ankle right in there, literally the.
Speaker 4 (01:49:34):
Mid section of foot.
Speaker 6 (01:49:35):
You have to have that look that closely because if
you've had a what we call a sprain fracture or
the midfoot, that is really complicated.
Speaker 4 (01:49:45):
And you know, in football, for example.
Speaker 6 (01:49:48):
Liz Frank sprain for a shield player, a wide receiver,
defensive back, and oftentimes mean the end of their career.
More commonly, what you see are people who have pain
on the outside of the foot, and these are usually
from a jump, somebody that's not used to doing plyometrics,
(01:50:08):
or somebody who gets caught playing basketball in the air
and they come down wrong on they're foot and all
of a sudden they have pain immediately on the outside
border of the foot, right over the bone, and those
fractures we call Jones fractures.
Speaker 4 (01:50:23):
We met a couple of players in the last four
years who.
Speaker 6 (01:50:25):
Have had Jones fractures, and they're pretty easy to manage with.
You know, most of the time we will go right
in because of the level of athletics that my kids
are playing at. We're going to put a screw in
that bone pretty quickly. If you're not playing at the
Division one level or a high level in high school.
They're probably going to put you in a boot for
about six seven weeks and see if it heels on
(01:50:47):
its own. But if it doesn't, they always can put
a screw in it and stabilize it. The big problem
becomes two things. One is the post injury management.
Speaker 4 (01:50:58):
Has to be by a ficial therapist to has a good.
Speaker 6 (01:51:01):
Good understanding of foot mechanics and make sure that you'ves
when you restore normal joint mechanics or joint walking forces
and running forces. So you really need to have somebody
familiar with foot injuries. And the other thing is that
a small change in the foot causes problems up the line.
(01:51:23):
Meaning if I've got a right foot problem and I
changed my mechanics a lot of times, that can mean
that I start having a left hip problem. So you
have to have somebody who has that understanding of the
normal mechanics so that you know you don't compensate.
Speaker 2 (01:51:38):
How how difficult does it become? You know, I think
what I went through, I had upper body injuries. And
while you're reh having an upper body injury, I could
still walk, I could jog, I could do cardio. I
feel like one of the issues when you start talking
about a foot injury. Is you lose that ability at
points because you do have to rest, you do have
to recover, and in doing so, you could lose some
(01:51:59):
of you're conditioning. How difficult does it become when you're
not able to keep that conditioning up due to a
foot injury as opposed to maybe an upper body injury
where you can still keep that aspect going.
Speaker 6 (01:52:11):
Well, you look at the literature on that. Let's say
I have a FI really one of our finally tuned athletes,
and they're in great shape. We're in the middle of
the season, and all of a sudden they have a
foot injury or an ankle injury. If I shut them
down too long, then they automatically start losing what we
call their cardiovaster or output and their abilion to have
(01:52:32):
an aerobic capacity. So we get them in the pool
right away, or we get them on one of the
unloaded trendmills right away, so that we try to continue
that and maintain that cardiovas of the capability. Unfortunately, a
lot of people don't have access to a lot of
that type of equipment. And if you took somebody and
(01:52:53):
took them out of their sport for about three weeks
where they couldn't cardiovas or train, they lose close to
thirty third twenty five percent of their cardiovaster or capability.
That means I need six weeks to regain that. So
as soon as you can, you want to get get
it moving. You want to get going with some sort
of using your arms for cardio of aster the capability
(01:53:16):
so that you keep your heart rate up and you
keep in shape. That still doesn't mimic these shapes you
need to be in to run or the ability to
play sports, So you still have to have that progression back.
But we've become far more aggressive in our management of
ankle and foot injuries to where we at the college level,
(01:53:40):
professional level, you're shifting more to a surgical intervention to
make sure that we correct it right away and then
get them right back into activity as soon as their
body lets us do that.
Speaker 2 (01:53:54):
The foot, I feel like we always talk about the
risk of a re injured part of it is is
the foot one of the higher risk areas when you
start talking about dealing with the same thing. I always
quite as I mentioned earlier, to ankle injuries, but are
our foot injuries do they raise that likelihood that you're
gonna gonna deal with something where you can reinjurre it
along the way, or is once you're healed, you're you're
(01:54:17):
moving on from it.
Speaker 6 (01:54:19):
Well, absolutely in because remember when you're playing sports, the
first thing that hits the ground is your foot, and
then your your loan management of how much you know
how much load you're putting on it, by how long
am I practicing? By you know how much I weigh,
by what sport am I playing? All that low transitions
into the foot, So can you have a high risk
(01:54:41):
of re injury? Absolutely okay. And two is that it's
not just a reinjury, but the change in your mechanics
to where you get a problem somewhere else because you
compensate over So we really like you see these people
that walk around on scooters all the time, or they
instead of using crutches, they push themselves around on a scooter,
(01:55:06):
And in my athletes, I won't let them use the
scooter because it's not putting weight through the foot, it's
not I'd rather have them on crutches with minimal weight bearing,
but with a normal gate pattern so they never develop
a brain link to the leg with an abnormal gate pattern.
(01:55:27):
So I tend to make my kids use crutches, and
I tend to let them put weight on it right away.
Not all the weight, obviously, but enough way where they
can mimic a normal gate pattern and just unloaded to
the point where they're comfortable.
Speaker 2 (01:55:42):
I feel like so much with injuries can be cut
in dry regardless of when the injury happens. This is
what it looks like with foot injuries. Are you tending
to be a little bit more aggressive or maybe push
it a little bit more if you're in season as
opposed to being out of season and having more time
to rest and recover.
Speaker 6 (01:56:00):
Yeah, we had I mean, you really give it a shot.
You know, we had a kid one of our players
got hurt last year. We tried to treat it conservatively
at first and see if we can get him through
the season, and unfortunately we weren't able to do that
and he ended up having to have the surgery. But again,
(01:56:21):
we we gave it a shot. He wanted because it
was his last year playing. He wanted to see if
he can get through it. And again they kin did
a great job with it, but unfortunately we ended up
having to put a screw in it.
Speaker 2 (01:56:37):
Bob, you are You're the absolute best. Even when you
do big time. You go on a drive up a
mountain and then take a picture like you just hiked.
Speaker 6 (01:56:44):
Always, always I'm telling you Tony did.
Speaker 3 (01:56:47):
Yeah, I believe you hike from your car to the bridge.
That's what I believe. Okay, You're the best, Bob. Thank
you so much. We'll talk soon. Have a good week, guys.
Speaker 4 (01:56:58):
Have a good weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:57:00):
Is Bob man Jean from the University of Cincinnati and Novacare. Look,
whether you're dealing with an injury or just making your
health a priority, Novacare's rehabilitation is here for you. There's
no better time than now to make Novacares movement experts
part of your healthcare team. Starting care is easy and

therapy from your doctor. To learn more, go to novacare
dot com. Today we'll roll along hour number three next
thanks to Penn Station on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
Speaker 3 (01:57:23):
I'm doctor Damons Station. Welcome back.
Speaker 2 (01:57:32):
Since e three sixty it's ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
Thanks to Penn Station, Mowager is standing by to join
us in just a few moments anywhere that we didn't
get to today, Austin, that you wanted to get to
on on top of your mind, I don't think so.
Can I ask you a Bengals question? Sure, let me
(01:57:53):
give you three names. Okay, let me. I want you
to tell me which of these three players can have
the biggest impact for the Bengals this year? Ready, Sure,
Drew Sample, MH Cam Sample or Oron Burks.
Speaker 3 (01:58:13):
I think just based off of playtime, the biggest impact
will be Drew Sample M and then Oron Burks and
then Cam Sample. Yeah. I it may not be like
game changing plays from Drew Sample, but he's gonna play
(01:58:37):
a lot. He's gonna be on the field. Or maybe
he's not. Maybe there's a lot more Mike Giseki split
out wide and Sam A J. P. Ryan can pass block,
and Taj Boyd and uh Chase Brown. I don't know.
Maybe he's not on the field as much. Yeah, I
(01:58:57):
don't know. I think Oron Burks is is an interesting player.
He can be really good. But to see a liability
and coverage, that's the question.
Speaker 2 (01:59:08):
But when you think about at least the North Baltimore
wants to run the ball. Cleveland wants to run the ball.
I think Pittsburgh is going to try to be pretty balanced.
I just don't know if they have the horses at
receiver that are going to be able to throw the
ball around the field. I like him against the run.
I like him from having Super Bowl experience and he
(01:59:29):
graded out really well, especially over the end of the
football season. I think Orin Burks can have a major
impact on this team. Is he starting. Is he starting
for the Bengals?
Speaker 3 (01:59:40):
I don't know. I'm gonna guess no. Demetrious Knight, but
he could be. Wilson could be a guy who plays
on early downs. And the other part is going to
be you know, the Philly defensive line at times was
dominant last year and that helps linebackers play well, especially
against the run, when the defensive linemen do what they're
supposed to. So if the production from the d line
(02:00:02):
is not at that same level as it was for
Oran and Philadelphia, is he able to still produce the
way in stopping the run back? Then you say, okay, Cam,
sample is important, right, Yeah? And Cam's ability to go
inside a little bit, and just in general him against
the run has been a positive, but he's coming off
pretty nasty injury.
Speaker 2 (02:00:20):
So for what it's worth oron, Burks was the third
highest graded linebacker in the playoffs last year.
Speaker 3 (02:00:26):
Yeah, he was a line like filling in front injured
player in Philadelphia, like in that stretch the last eight
games and into the playoffs in Super Bowl, he was
really good.
Speaker 4 (02:00:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:00:36):
Mullager is next for quick kits on ESPN fifteen thirty,
Cincinnati Sports station.
Speaker 3 (02:00:40):
Thanks to Penn station se k.
Speaker 1 (02:00:42):
Wise Cincinnati, make us the number one pre set on
your car radio and on the free Knew and Improved
iHeartRadio ad. Free never sounded so good, ESPN fifteen thirty.
Speaker 3 (02:00:51):
From the Baker heating tempts.
Speaker 1 (02:00:53):
Since the three sixty continues on ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati's
sports station, It's time for Cincy three sixty quick hits
on ESBN fifteen thirty.
Speaker 3 (02:01:05):
Was looking for mo waiting on mo Is. He's in
the hallway right now.
Speaker 2 (02:01:08):
He's talking, but he's he's gonna be here in just
a second and have something cool that's gonna happen with
Moager to share coming up here in just a few moments.
If you missed it, what is it? Well, it's a
training camp update. Oh, he had to give a training
camp update with Moegar. If you missed earlier, you missed
a lot. Obviously, the Reds won last night, which means
(02:01:31):
Austin it's about time to get a banner in this studio.
Is the only team in Major League Baseball that she
had to be swept on the season. They have a chance,
and I believe we said this yesterday, right five is
the only thing that can happen to go out win
five in a row or else it feels like a
massive disappointment that obviously can't happen if you don't beat
the Miami Marlins tonight, and then they'll get three shots
(02:01:52):
at the Colorado Rockies and then it's the All Star
break for the Cincinnati Reds. Nick Lodolo is on the
mound for the Red Legs tonight. Nicklodolo final update.
Speaker 3 (02:02:02):
Our Revive Fitnessystems dot com poll question, what's your level
of concern about the Hunter Green situation? Fifty five percent
say this is bad bad oh, thirty five percent say
he'll be fine, four point five percent say he may
never pitch again, and four percent say he's still the ace.
Where do you vote. I vote this is bad bad.
(02:02:23):
It does feel bad bad. That's my vote. It's my
official stance. Revive Fitness sys do.
Speaker 2 (02:02:28):
I wish we were in a point right before the
All Star break where we had to debate on this
show who the ace was because Hunter Green was healthy
and pitching well and Andrew Abbat.
Speaker 3 (02:02:35):
Was pitching well.
Speaker 2 (02:02:37):
It'd be nice, yeah, because if not, if not Hunter
Green and he's not a sure thing. Are you really
set with Nick Martinez?
Speaker 8 (02:02:46):
No?
Speaker 3 (02:02:47):
You really set on Brady Martinez or Brady Singer?
Speaker 7 (02:02:49):
No?
Speaker 2 (02:02:50):
Are you really set on Nickelodolo? Nickelodola is a four
or five yes as your number two. No, And Chase
Burns is still going to go through some growing pains
but has shown some pretty good signs sure up to
this point. But man, the conversation around the strength of
this team and around the pitching staff goes through a
(02:03:11):
lot of that. So that's where it is with the
Cincinnati Reds trying to get back to two games over
five hundred tonight at Great American Ballpark.
Speaker 3 (02:03:22):
That's a five to ten start. What else do we
have anything? I don't think so. I know that the
Reds have had some success against the Marlin starter tonight. Okay,
so hopefully they can continue that this evening.
Speaker 2 (02:03:37):
We have Moager next. Before we get to any of that,
he's here for quick hits, he's here before the Mowager show.
What's going on? Let's go with this first because we
have of an announcement to share. Well, we do have
an announcement to share, but what's on your show?
Speaker 4 (02:03:51):
First?
Speaker 16 (02:03:52):
So I'm going to play to you the two most
important parts of season I'm sorry, let's do this again.
I'm going to play for you the two most import
parts of episode four of Quarterback from I watched episode
four or last night. I do want to bring this
up though, that if Kirk Cousins had a child with
Justin Timberlake, it would be Kirk cousins brother.
Speaker 3 (02:04:12):
Oh look at him, okay, look at him? On Quarterback?
Speaker 16 (02:04:18):
Does anybody know who is gonna make so if you
look at the spot in the rotation currently occupied by
Chase Burns, that spot is going to get like thirteen
to fourteen more starts.
Speaker 3 (02:04:29):
Yeah, do we think Hunter Green's going to make any
of them?
Speaker 4 (02:04:32):
Right?
Speaker 3 (02:04:32):
We'll talk about Andrew Abbott, who's awesome last night, the
Ace Beast.
Speaker 2 (02:04:37):
If Hunter Green hadn't gone to any injuries. Do you
still think Abbot at this point overtakes him as the
ace based on how he's pitched? Yeah, I mean, who
knows what Hunter Green's numbers would look like? But how
different does the rotation look like if you don't get
Hunter back? Well, then but there's the question like who
Carson Spyers, Jerry's aut on. Martinez Lodolo is not a two,
He's more of like a four or five. Chase Burns
(02:04:58):
is going to make all of those starts?
Speaker 3 (02:05:00):
Who will?
Speaker 16 (02:05:00):
So we have to spend some time on that. I
think you guys were talking about ESPN's grade. Yeah, yeah,
the C plus. Yeah, Reds and the Bengals have received
a C plus. The city of C plus is ye
as a career C plus student, I have never been
a bigger fan of these two franchises. Finally I can
identify with the Reds and Bengals personally. We'll discuss the
(02:05:21):
C plus grades. I'm gonna try to get to the
bottom of why Austin is obsessed with Amelio Pagan not
getting one, two, three innings.
Speaker 3 (02:05:28):
Man, I'm not obsessed, it's just I think it's noteworthy.
Emelio Pagan's whip is zero point eight six eight. That's
pretty good.
Speaker 16 (02:05:36):
That it would be the second best season long whip
of Mariano Rivera's career.
Speaker 3 (02:05:41):
That's pretty good. I just think it's I think it's
where I think it's interesting that the guy has a
lot of saves and has been for the most part
pretty good. But he always gets a base runner on
just about you compared? But actually.
Speaker 16 (02:05:55):
Critically that's not true. It's less than one base runner
per inning. So point eight six eight.
Speaker 3 (02:06:04):
Let's see what else do we have?
Speaker 16 (02:06:06):
Oh maurs a do from MLS Season pass, Apple Tea
is reel is coming up on Saturday. Will spend some
time on that and so much more. Zach Taylor said
something on Quarterback episode four, season two. Yeah, I absolutely
love We'll spend the.
Speaker 2 (02:06:23):
Conversation on episode three with the mental side of the
quarterback game is unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (02:06:28):
You finally watch that. It's one of my favorite releases
of television I've ever watched. Really good.
Speaker 2 (02:06:33):
Next week, I'm on vacation. I'm on vacation and I
come back the night before Bengals training camp. Wow, so
this is like my load management season. Congratulations, thank you.
There is a chance.
Speaker 3 (02:06:45):
It's always good to manage your load.
Speaker 2 (02:06:47):
Yeah, there's a chance I'm not in tomorrow based on
other circumstances that are happening in my life. You know what,
There's always a chance none of us are here tomorrow. Correct,
that's correct. So I was gonna hold this news for tomorrow,
but not knowing what tomorrow. Why sit on it, on it?
Why not let people know? Last year, Mo, we got
to celebrate, as we have it up here in our
in the studio, the ten year anniversary of the Tony
(02:07:09):
and Mo Football Show. Yeah, our guy Tom Horan brought
us a bottle of Weller each each and a note
that said, congratulations to a.
Speaker 3 (02:07:18):
Job Weller done.
Speaker 2 (02:07:20):
And this year it's a nice plaque we get to
add on to that. We get to do the normal
Tony MO football show during the season at twin Peaks.
But what about the Tony and Mo training camp show?
Speaker 4 (02:07:29):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (02:07:30):
What about that?
Speaker 6 (02:07:31):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (02:07:32):
What about enhancing the coverage from ESPN fifteen thirty for
a training camp show?
Speaker 16 (02:07:36):
I'm in So we're gonna do ten of these? Yeah, Now,
training can't move this year. Training camp is not from
three to six, it's right ten to noon. So I
guess we're going to do some shows starting at ten
am wow, in addition to the normal program Wow. So
like we know how we have six hours from noon
to six and six hour local programming block. Yes, for
these days during training camp ten hours starting at ten am,
(02:08:00):
including the Tony and Mo Training Camp Show.
Speaker 3 (02:08:02):
I can't wait. You and I from it. As the
Bengals are practicing, we'll be on the field.
Speaker 16 (02:08:06):
I'm excited for this because you know, for years they've
practiced during the afternoon and you're there, and I always
feel like I'm missing something, right fomo right, I always
feel like God, I wish now we'll be.
Speaker 3 (02:08:16):
There, So we'll be together from ten to noon. Yeah,
or maybe ten to one. We'll see, maybe I'll feel
like sticking around.
Speaker 2 (02:08:23):
And then since he three to sixty will still happen
and the Molager Show will still happen, so essentially ten
to six, it's gonna be fun every single day.
Speaker 16 (02:08:30):
It's to be starting on ten dates starting on July
twenty third, so we'll be able to do like play
by play of training Camp as it's happening. You imagine
just any dead air, like I could pretend I'm Dan
Horde and you could pretend you're Dave Lapham for years
as you've had to listen to me call in say, Man,
I'm worried about the old line, MELI.
Speaker 3 (02:08:48):
Now you'll see it for yourself hand in hand.
Speaker 16 (02:08:51):
What I love about it is you're still gonna do
afternoon training camp reports even though they're not practicing in
the afternoon anymore.
Speaker 3 (02:08:57):
So I'm really pumped for the reports.
Speaker 2 (02:09:00):
Yeah, three on fifteen thirty and three on WLW should
be awesome in the afternoons.
Speaker 16 (02:09:05):
Really, really, I'm not sure about those last three. I
don't care what you do with those, but uh, yeah,
it'll be. First of all, thanks to the Bengals for
letting us do this. Yes, that's awesome and I think
is gonna make I think it's just gonna make the
station's coverage of the Bengals better. It's gonna it's gonna
be great for the audience. And hopefully what we do
(02:09:26):
from ten to noon is similar yet different from what
you guys do from noon to three and what I
do from three to six. It should be it should
be a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (02:09:34):
Yeah, I just think with what this team has the
opportunity to do. Yeah, and obviously storylines are plenty with
leading up to campus, Shamar Stewart and Trey Hendrickson, and
we could be on Trey Henderson.
Speaker 3 (02:09:45):
Watch on air now. Yeah, what's he doing? Yeah? Is
he getting water? Is he talking to any of his coaches?
Is he here?
Speaker 2 (02:09:51):
Is he dressed like he's playing eighteen? That's what we
did with Jamar Chase every day last year. Yeah, he's
out here. He's not wearing any Bengals gear. Yeah, but no,
the uh, the the idea and the uh the fulfillment
now of both the Bengals and and obviously ESPN fifteen
thirty is gonna be awesome. It's gonna be really cool
to be down there for ten different dates of Bengals.
Speaker 16 (02:10:11):
Well, we'll basically be there for I think all the
public workouts that are during the week, right, and then
we're gonna be there for a couple of workouts.
Speaker 3 (02:10:20):
That aren't open to the public. Yeah, those are the
ones we could be people's eyes and ears.
Speaker 4 (02:10:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:10:25):
Should we go up to the bridge for one?
Speaker 24 (02:10:27):
We can go to the.
Speaker 6 (02:10:29):
We just have to.
Speaker 16 (02:10:30):
I wanted to do that one year, I know, and
I was told, in no uncertain terms, you are I
was gonna get like this piece of equipment that allowed
me to broadcast on the bridge man, and I was
told definitively, if you do that, you're gonna have a problem.
Speaker 2 (02:10:41):
Well, you know, right next to the bridge is that
the billboard. You could have just went up on the billboard,
no question, Maybe stayed up there.
Speaker 16 (02:10:46):
Yeah, maybe there's like all sorts of places. Perhaps we
can sell one of us up with like a wireless mic.
We could just like walk around.
Speaker 2 (02:10:52):
Yeah, go, I'd be fantastic if it could be dangerous,
could be dangerous, But it's gonna be a lot of fun.
Speaker 16 (02:10:58):
I think it's gonna be. I think it's gonna be
a lot of fun. And I think those are gonna
be really good shows. And I'm excited. I always enjoy
getting a chance to do the Tony and Mo football show.
We've done that for ten years, and this gives us,
you know, basically a whole like half season's worth.
Speaker 3 (02:11:13):
Yeah, it'd be fun.
Speaker 2 (02:11:14):
Tony Mo Training Camp show starting July twenty third, ten
to noon, and then our normal times be long days
all the way to six.
Speaker 3 (02:11:21):
Yeah, be long days. But they're gonna be a lot
of fun.
Speaker 16 (02:11:23):
Well and just think about it, like you know, we'll
have training camp and then the Reds will still be
playoff push, you know, close to us scoreboard watching, perhaps
with Stephen Kwan oh Man, Jeff pass U, Haanio Souarez.
Speaker 3 (02:11:40):
Yeah, they'll make it happen. Sure, maybe Hunter Green. It
could be fun.
Speaker 2 (02:11:46):
Well, if I'm here tomorrow, I'll talk to you tomorrow.
If not, I'll see on July twenty third.
Speaker 3 (02:11:49):
Thing that would make it better.
Speaker 16 (02:11:50):
And I'm really excited for doing this, But do you
think the folks that you see whatever, let us do
the Tony and Moe Higher Ground Show.
Speaker 3 (02:11:57):
I would just for the food. Food is good.
Speaker 2 (02:11:59):
I would just for the food. Logistically just makes too
much sense. I love Higher Ground Man, Yeah, I do too.
Mullagar is next for the Mullagra Show. Thanks for listening.
Have a great rest of your Thursday. ESPN fifteen thirty,
Cincinnati Sports Station at Penn Station the East
