Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is Skyline Chile. Since he three to sixty about
Cincinnati from Cincinnati, sponsored in part by Skyline Chile. Stop
by Skyline Chile for a three way or cheese coney today.
Feeling good, It's Skyline time. This is ESPN fifteen thirty
Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
All right, this feels kind of normal. It's since he
three to sixty on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
This is still part of our ongoing Bengals training camp coverage.
Thank you to our fine folks tot A door and
window where they sell the best and service the rest.
Special thanks to Adam Weber for sponsoring the broadcast at
Bengals training Camp and always continued support the Bengals for

(00:41):
all these many years. If you haven't been following along
from the ten to noon portion the Mo or the
Tony and Moe Training Camp Show. We got about an
hour into training camp today and then the weather came
in rather quickly. The team was out on the field,
it was packed. It sunny for most of the hour,

(01:02):
and I think over austin the span of a commercial break,
the clouds came in and it became very dangerous very quickly.
The rain came down steadily. For a while, we just
kind of waited it out. We did a portion of
the show while the team had already moved into the
bubble and stood out there in the rain. And then
eventually someone from the Bengals did come up and say, hey,

(01:24):
there is there's lightning now on the way. It's time
for you guys to pack up and get it on out.
Now we're here.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
We're talking in between the breaks, and I heard you
saying that I think it's gonna dissipate a little bit,
or it might. It's moving slow, so it may not
get here till whenever. And then it just happened. It
just popped up, you know how it is down there
by the river.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Yeah, we were watching.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
We were watching right before we went on air, and
it was, you know, chance of some thunderstorms after twelve
o'clock and okay, at least we'll get this practice in
and then navigate it as we go. And like I said,
they came in quickly, and I feel bad because there's
a portion obviously the Bengals are now able to get
the work done, and we'll talk about some of the

(02:09):
work they got done when they went into the bubble.
We couldn't go into the bubble with them and carry
on the broadcast. Others were able to go in there
and watch, but for so many fans that came out
that it was tough watching them file out of the
practice fields while the rain was pouring down. You feel
bad from that sense, But the brilliance of what this

(02:29):
team has now the bubble, they were probably able to
pick up right where they left off as soon as
they got in there. They were already in a team
drill when they went to the bubble, so it's not
like you've got to reset warm up again. I would
imagine they got into the bubble and picked up right
where they left off. What we understand is right where
they left off, Austin was Shamar Stewart making some plays

(02:51):
and team.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Yeah, it looks like Schamar batted down, by my count,
three passes and also had what would have been if
they were live, a tackle for loss. Yeah, and it
was on one of them kind of outside. I think
that it was a play action roll out by the
quarterback and Schamar got after the quarterback batted the ball down,

(03:12):
So you know, good for him to be able to
come in right away. Because we always say it doesn't
really matter until you put the pads on for the
offensive and defensive lines, and so far today Shamar Stewart
making his presence felt that's a good thing.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
It's a positive and for this team, they need help
on the defensive side of the ball. You'd love for
this to get the ball rolling now and getting Trey
Hendrickson back in camp and then you feel like you've
got all hands on deck moving to the preseason, moving
to the regular season. Still some questions to be had
out there, but no doubt, a good, good step forward

(03:49):
for the Cincinnati Bengals, getting Shamar Stewart back, if that
means Trey Hendrickson comes back even better, but a step
in the right direction. The offense I think has out
through this portion of training camp, which I think a
lot of people expected to happen.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Well, I think you know, you and Mo talked about
a little bit earlier the red zone offense and how
they struggled a little bit I think in yesterday's practice, Yes,
and it seems like they struggled a little bit in
today's practice. Once they got to the bubble, they went
back and did some more eleven verse eleven red zone
work and the defense won the day down there again.
And I was saying earlier this week or over the

(04:25):
weekend that you know, Al Golden had said after mandatory
mini camp that the last thing they had to install
defensively was red zone and that that would be a
point of emphasis for them going into training camp. And
so far, it seems like whatever it is, and the
defense has always had an advantage in the red zone
because of the field and use the sideline in the

(04:47):
back of the end zone as a weapon in the space,
and all that seems like so far over the last
couple of days where there's been some more intense red
zone periods, that the defense is performing well, and that
obviously is a good thing. You think the offense will
figure it out, you know again pads, but not really tackling,
not live what's it looked like in the run game,

(05:07):
that sort of stuff. But I think that's a worth
earmarking moving forward. If the Bengals can have a red
zone defense that holds teams to three, that will be crucial.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
You know, that was a point of what we were
able to talk about a little bit because it did
stem off yesterday's report of those who were at practice
on Sunday of the offense under Joe Burrow not being
able to score in the red zone. And what I
think is unique about this Austin is people are so
ready to react. And you know, I saw so much
on social media yesterday about well, the offense needs to

(05:40):
figure it out this and that. Dan Hord reminded everyone
yesterday this was a top five red zone offense last year.
The worry is not the offense. They will be fine,
But the worry about this team was how poor the
defense was and how bad the defense played over the
course of the season last year. And it puts even

(06:02):
more pressure on an offense when you know the defense
isn't getting stops and vice versa, it doesn't allow you
to put any game pressure on opposing offenses because you
know the Bengals are going to score. And if you
could string together a couple stops all of a sudden,
you can make teams one dimensional. The Bengals were never
really able to do that to teams last year. So

(06:22):
what I think is exciting about this is, again we
always talk in the context of the Bengals of can
they just be a middle of the pack defense, Can
they be a top twenty defense in the NFL. Well,
guess what if you're a top twenty defense, but you
boast a top ten or a top fifteen red zone
defense as Austin you just said. Now you hold offenses

(06:46):
to three instead of seven. And for a Bengals offense
that is going to put up a lot of points,
what more can you ask for? Yeah, don't stop them,
just make them. I mean, it's the epitome of ben
but don't break yep. It's what Louie and Aarumo was
so good against the Kansas City Chiefs for years, and
why Joe Burrow was the only one that could crack
the Chiefs is the wud They would force them to

(07:08):
take field goals in the red zone.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
And if you can be that, if you're al golden,
if you can focus on that and give up the
yardage in between the twenties, then you have a chance
to be a really, really good team because the offense
is going to score a lot of points. That's the
positive with this team going forward. We have the race
Saint Claire Roofing hotline. It's open today five one, three, seven, four, nine,

(07:31):
fifteen thirty and we do at least have to spend
a little time today Austin on what the Reds were
able to do this weekend.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
Yeah, of course they swept the Rays. They could be
your worst take.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
I said they would get swept, and so they turned
her ound and swept the Rays. And kudos to Terry
Francona for emptying the clip. He went after it yesterday.
Uh pitching Emilio Pagan and Tony c again three straight
days by Brady Sayinger. He wasn't trying to think ahead
to the Dodgers series and save some guys for the
Dodger Series. He was going all in on trying to

(08:08):
get that sweep and get that extra win against Tampa
paid off for him. We'll see how they handle things tonight.
But that was a fun weekend of Red's baseball. They
were clean, they were good on the base pass, They're
putting pressure on the defense. They had a little bit
of everything. It puts them squarely in the playoff hunt.
They are one game back in the Wild Card. They

(08:29):
are now six games over five hundred. The Giants lost
last night, which means they're now too clear of the Giants.
They're two and a half clear of the Saint Louis Cardinals,
it's the Padres, it's the Phillies, and it's the Brewers
right now ahead of the Cincinnati Reds. If if that
weekend series did not push this organization to get help,
I don't know whatever will now. You don't want to

(08:52):
take the good fortune that you created and now gets
swept by the Dodgers. You want to continue to hold
surf here at home. I know that's easier said than done,
because it's arguably the best team in baseball, are one
of the best teams in baseball coming in.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Well, the pitching matchups do not favor the Reds. Now
she Nobu Yamamoto. The Reds.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
The Dodgers have been scuffling a little bit. I mean,
it's the best way to say it, and we've talked
about how they're pitching, in their depth and their injuries.
But the Reds are gonna get their top three in
this series. Yoshiobu Yamamoto, Tonight, Tyler Glass now tomorrow show
Hey O Tani on Wednesday, and it's gonna be Chase
Burns for the Reds.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Chase Burns heading a tough go as it is. I
know he's faced what the Phillies, the Red Sox, the Yankees,
and now he gets the Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Yes, yeah, I think he faced the Nationals and they,
you know, we're fine too offensively or at least a
decent team. And so for the Reds it's Chase Burns, Nicoldolo,
and I think Nick Martinez on Wednesday night. So when
you combine that with a little bit of a tax
bullpen coming into.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
It, shout out to Mike. You got the Reds as
a home dog tonight. Not gonna be easy for the
old Red Legs. And hopefully Chase Burns looks like he
did against the Yankees and not like he did against
the Red Sox against a good team in the Dodge.
I'll tell you what though, it's the atmosphere at the
ballpark was a ton of fun this weekend and I

(10:18):
I I read along and I saw too, like normally
like there are big crowds you get, but some of
it is often related to the opponent as well. That
crowd when when Ellie hit the go ahead to run
single was unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
Yeah, I mean they are because there no, that's what
I mean. Those are that's all Reds right there.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
And to have that and and to see those crowds
over the weekend. That was that was really cool what
the Reds have been able to do. F C Cincinnati
played flexibility by that. That's what they're gainst what that is,
that's what they're getting. FC Cincinnati played to a zero
zero drawl. They were passed. They're now one point behind
Philadelphia in the uh the Eastern Conference standings. But I

(11:01):
said it yesterday, what a time. I mean, there are
times from a Cincinnati sports fan standpoint, you just got
to appreciate the moment football is starting. You seek reported
to camp higher ground. Today the Reds are in the
thick of a wild card playoff hunt, and FC Cincinnati
is right in the middle of things too.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
Yeah, this is what you want if you're a sports fan.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Fair to say it was a disappointing result for f
C Cincinnati, considering Jordi Alba and Lionel Messi were not
on the pitch and they had a late goal waved off.
But you'll always take a point on the road. You're
never going to be dissatisfied with that. You're still right
there in contention, and you were able to survive those
two Miami matches without giving up three points to them.

(11:45):
FC Cincinnati should feel pretty good about where they're.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
At, because a Cincinnati sports fan, you feel pretty good
about where you're at. We will take our first break
here of the show. We'll come back a little bit
more from Bengals practice today. We'll look ahead to some
more bigger picture things with the squad as well, and uh,
we'll take your phone calls on the Ray Saint Clair
Roofing Hotline five one, three, seven, four nine, fifteen thirty
at Cincy three sixty on the Home of the Bengals, ESPN,

(12:09):
fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports.

Speaker 5 (12:12):
Action pitch of all action pitches if they weren't on
their feet before, they are now three balls, two strikes,
bases loaded, two outs to two in the seventh, and
here's the payoff to Ellie. Swing a little player short
right center field. It's falling, it's slicing, and it's down
gradhead one run home seer right behind him to the
plate to score his freedom McClane to third, hits to

(12:36):
two run, go ahead bloop single.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
By Ellie Dala Cruz four two reds. What a great
dead bat.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
And you got to give credit to Matt McClain for
getting Ellie to the plate. There, but he laid off
some tough pitches to buy himself that three to two
fastball he got.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
He didn't smoke it, folks, but he hit it where
they ain't and the Reds are up four to two
because of it.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
That's a great at bat by both Vack McClain and
Ellie did cruise. How about that? That is what it
sounded like. Electric atmosphere at Great American Ballpark. That led
to a Reds win, which led to a Red sweep
of the Tampa Bay Rays. They're six games over five
hundred and don't look now, Austin right around the corner.

(13:18):
We've got the Speedway Classic. That's right coming up this Saturday.
Did you see that they are set to break Major
League Baseball's regular season attendance record? I did right now.
They have more than eighty five thousand tickets sold to date.
That means it will eclipse the previous paid attendance records
of eighty four, five and eighty seven, set on September twelfth,

(13:39):
nineteen fifty four, when Cleveland Stadium hosted the New York Yankees.
Fans have purchased tickets from all fifty United States and
nine countries on four continents.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
That's amazing. That is pretty cool. Nine countries, four continents.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
And the field set up itself does look awesome.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
I'm still skeptical of it. I'm gonna be there, so
I'll report back with how I feel. I'm not buying
it though on the photos. I just I'm I really
question if it's going to be a positive viewing experience

(14:19):
for people that are not on like the small stands
right around the field, because there's it's like a minor
league ballpark where the field is and then the rest
of it is like the stands that they use for
the races. I'm a little bit weary, to be honest,
are you going to be I think I'm gonna be
in center field, which might be the worst place to saist,

(14:40):
to be honest, but I didn't buy the tickets, so
I'm fascinated to see what it's going to be like.
And I think it's gonna be fun because when you're
you need to go to something like that, you're not
just there for a baseball game, like you're there for
the experience of it all, and you're seeing the speedway
and the the track, collaboration with NASCAR and all the

(15:06):
different stuff. I saw that Chipper Jones is gonna throw
the first pitch, Johnny Bench is gonna catch the first pitch.
A bunch of country music people gonna be there.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
So yeah, all right, Braves going in the wrong direction.
They've lost five in a row.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
The Braves are going in the wrong direction, and they
have all five of their starting pitchers from their opening
day roster on the injured list Right now, ya gonna
be that way probably the rest of the season.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Back to the Bengals. Listen to some of these tweets
from Charlie Goldsmith. Austin Josh Newton starts the day with
a perfect pass breakup on back shoulder.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
Throw to Jamar Chase fig Newton.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
We mentioned the Shamar Stewart plays in detail, pass breakup
another one tackle for a loss, but mark this down.
July twenty eighth, Charlie Goldsmith tweeted out earlier, the winner
of today is the Bengals pass rush. That is awesome
in a Bengal pass rush that is without Trey Hendrickson

(16:03):
winning the day the first day in pads for the
Cincinnati Bengals. Is that for you a big positive or
a little concerning, because I think we assume the offense
should dominate up front.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Right now.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
I think it's exactly what I expected because I've always
said that my biggest concern is not the offensive or
not the defensive line or the secondary, it's the Bengals
offensive line. Yeah, and not surprised at all to hear
that they're getting dominated by the Bengals defensive line. Now
how much I mean, you can't judge the trenches until
the pads come on. Right Day one punched in the

(16:41):
mouth apparently with Charlie Goldsmith saying that the pass rush
wins the day.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
And that is and that has been the resounding theme
of training camp reports in recent years, is that the
old line does not look good enough.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
And again it's year two for MEMS. It's Orlando Brown
needing a little bit of a bounce back. Here Ted
Krris with with two new guards, and we didn't get
to see Lucas Patrick because he's got a calf injury
going on.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
Right now.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
I was most looking forward to O line D line
one on ones because I wanted to see Shamar Stewart.
I also wanted to se Dylan Fairchild with the pads on.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
Yep. I want to.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
See what he's capable of doing. And it would lead
me to the next question of is there anything you
could see or you would see during training camp if
you're the Bengals, that would force your hand to go
get help immediately, right that That to me, If Trey
Hendrickson's their day one and he's doing what Trey Hendrickson

(17:43):
does and he's beaten guys. But if the d line
one today, that means more often than not, Austin, Shamar Stewart,
Joseph Osai, Miles Murphy and company are winning.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
Yeah, and you know you would hate to see that
offensive line over the next ten days continue to perform
poorly in camp and send Joe Burrow out there in
Philadelphia in the preseason game and feel good about it.
I don't care about the reps. I care about whether

(18:15):
or not the dude healthy enough to play, and I
just don't feel good about this offensive line.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
I haven't. I mean heck.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Steve Palazzolo, formerly of PFF now with the Check to
Mike podcast, was friend of the show Sam Monson. He
put this out there earlier, the PFF grades for the
Bengals team pass blocking. Since Burrow has gotten to the league,
twenty twenty, they were twenty seventh. Twenty twenty one, when
they went to the Super Bowl, they were thirty first.
Twenty twenty two, they were twenty ninth. In twenty three,

(18:43):
they were twenty second. Last year twenty ninth. I don't
look at this team as being able. We talk about
the defense making a jump from the end of the
you know, the back end of the league to the midpoint.
I don't see the Bengals offensive line taking a step
from twenty ninth up to twelfth, do you right?

Speaker 6 (19:00):
No.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
I mean, even if those guys are healthy, and even
with Mims taking a step forward, they're not going to
jump from twenty ninth up to the top ten or
twelve in the NFL. I don't know that they're gonna
get up to twenty. That's an issue, it is. It's
certainly something to watch for. And I was gonna say.
Zach was asked earlier today about, like, you know, at
what point do you put labels on things and determine, Okay,

(19:23):
this is this and this is that, And he said
he's patient and usually takes a couple of preseason games
for him to start putting labels on stuff. I don't
know if that's a sound strategy when it comes to
the offensive line, yeah, it is.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
It is worrisome to say the least, to hear that
the defensive line was the story was the winner of
training camp today, the first day that the Bengals were
out there in training camp. That's a defensive line that
boasts right now a guy who's practiced once in Shamar
Stewart and guys in Joseph Osion Miles Murphy, who there
are questions about. Now, I'm not taking away with the defense.

(20:00):
I'm glad. I hope that the defense continues to put
that pressure on and continues to dominate, because maybe it
gives you a second thought on how good the what
the ceiling of the defense can be. And maybe maybe
it pushes the the organization to say, okay, we were
not good enough on the offensive line and we need
to show that up. Either way, it's something that that
you look out for. There was a little clarification from

(20:22):
Zach Taylor today talking about there's not going to be
any more live sessions than there would be in previous camps.
We've talked about the build up and trying to get
off to a faster start, and would they go live
at all. Would would that when the pads come on
change things. That was answered today that they're not going
to add in any more tackling periods. They're not going

(20:42):
to go live much during training camp, but a lot
still to watch for as it retains at the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
Can I give you two names, Yeah, to keep an
eye out on when you guys go back down there
to camp and over the course the next couple of weeks. Yes,
dj Ivy, who has been getting a little bit of
run with the first team defense and with Marco Wilson
being out.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
DJ Turner.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
DJ Turner has not performed well. You mentioned Josh Newton,
and I think everybody kind of had an idea of
Josh Newton. But dj Ivy, you know, last year was
coming off that knee injury, probably wasn't one hundred percent himself.
He's looked good over the last couple of days. And
Isaiah Williams. Isaiah Williams is my guy. I think he
should be the favorite to win the Moegger Award because

(21:25):
of the Moegger Radio Show award during training camp. I
think he can provide some juice in the return game
and he could could send Charlie Jones packing. Yeah, and
you know I hate that for Charlie Jones because I
do think Charlie's a weapon in the return game for sure.
But there was one really good play for the Bengals
on offense today in the red zone period, and it

(21:45):
was Isaiah Williams catching a pass from Joe Burrow on
Dax Hill. And you know, that's not the first time
we've seen Isaiah Williams making a play in his short
time with the Bengals, which started late last year where
they picked him up off Detroit's practice squad. Those two guys,
I think are interesting names to watch as we move
closer towards the Philly game next week.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
What do we have from a poll question today?

Speaker 3 (22:09):
You know what, I'm gonna stick with the Reds theme
for the Revivefitness Systems dot Com pole question, red Fever.
Go ahead and catch it red October nearing Revive Fitness
Systems dot Com coach PJ. Street, Dodgers come into town.
How many games will the Reds win this week against
the Dodgers?

Speaker 4 (22:26):
Are they going to sweep them? Oh?

Speaker 3 (22:28):
Are they going to get swept for the first time?
Are they going to win the series or are they
just going to steal one right now? Fifty percent of
respondents say the Reds will win one game in this
three game set with Los Angeles, thirty four percent say
they'll win the series with two wins, six percent say
they're gonna sweep LA, and eight and a half percent

(22:48):
say the Reds will get swept for the first time
this season. I don't have a vote, but if I'm
trying to do the thing where you know, the reverse psychology,
I probably would vote for the Reds to get Since
I said that last.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
Week pitching matchups are intriguing, we will continue when we
come back, We'll go to the race Saint Clair Roofing Hotline.

(24:04):
To the race Saint Claire Roofing hotline we go. Let's
start with Mayso what's up, Maysol?

Speaker 8 (24:13):
How you boys doing? Happy Happy Monday? Yeah, I hope
you guys had a good weekend. So anyway, guess we'll
get this ball rolling. Let's go with the going through
the alphabet. We knocked out a last week. We determined
Aaron Donald easily. Hey, we hated more than Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Austin likes Aaron Rodgers now because of the interview he
just did.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Aaron Rodgers did a great interview over the weekend with
Kyle Brandt from NFL Network. I don't know that I
like Aaron Rodgers again, but it was entertaining, informative, enlightening.

Speaker 8 (24:51):
Okay, all right, well there you go. So he's he's
back on somewhat good graces.

Speaker 9 (24:57):
All right.

Speaker 8 (25:00):
Uh so I actually got two today because my original
one is totally off the wall, Okay, and then I
have a one, uh in honor of the Reds playing well,
I have another one Reds related all right? So the
original one is who is a bigger wackado last more annoying?

(25:22):
Britney Spears or Britney Mahomes.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
Oh, I gotta go Britney Spears on this.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
I mean, Britney's got like actual Britney Spears has like
actual issues, you know, stuff going on wrong with her
post crazy stuff on the internet, and doesn't seem to
be getting a lot of help from the people around her.
Brittany Mahomes, I think people just find think she's annoying
because she's Patrick's husband.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
She has some annoying tendencies. But she's also by all accounts,
I mean, they're they're raising great kids. She's a mother.
I would lean Britney Spears as well, because she's she's
on a different a different planet. She really, I mean,
there's there's no doubt about it. She's not from this earth.

Speaker 8 (26:08):
That is that's accurate? Like and what what brought me.
Like I said, you guys pointed it out. The videos
have been popping up on my timeline. I'm like, what
is going on? That's that's what prompted those two names
come to mind. But the other part about Brittany Mahomes
that's annoying is she like is riding the coattails of

(26:29):
Taylor Swift. I feel like, now, oh, that's kind of.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
That's that's what Travis. I mean, wow wow.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
But I do respect with Brittany Holmes that she's been
riding with Mahomes since high school.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
That is true. She's a ride or died. I respect that. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (26:45):
Fair, that's that's fair. That's fair. Okay, and then onto
the rest one who's a better read Billy Hatcher or
Billy Hamilton.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
Hatcher, come on, World Champ, Billy Hatcher, don't be disrespectful.

Speaker 8 (26:59):
And that's what I was thinking. That's why that one
was kind of I threw it in there last second
because I figured everybody would say Billy Hatcher.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
Now, Billy Hamilton provided some good moments for the Reds.

Speaker 8 (27:10):
I that doesn't have a Yeah, he doesn't have a
World series under his belt.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
And that's a lot.

Speaker 8 (27:18):
Yeah, there's true, but there's a lot more that was
desired out of Billy Hamilton, I think, and it never
came to fruition. So I feel like Billy Billy Hatcher
would win that one. But that's those are my Those
are my two takes. That's all I got for you both.
Love it.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Well done, Mason, Thank you for your service. Thank you
all right, I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Billy Hatcher, Billy Hatcher, Billy Hamilton. It's a fun little
career comparison. Yeah, I mean Billy Billy owns him in
every category because about three hundred more games, or does
Hatcher have more stolen bases? Ham Hatcher has two hundred
and eighteen career stolen bases to three and twenty.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
Six for Hamilton, so he's got them on one.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
And so if you look at every single like the
career comparison on the Baseball Reference page, Billy Hamilton has
a much higher war because stolen bases are weighted so
much in that. But Billy Hatcher has more homers, more RBI,
higher batting average on bass, slugging ops ops plus World champion.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
I don't think I realized as well, how long and
how many teams Billy Hatcher played for Yeah, Cubs, Astros, Pirates, Reds,
Red Sox, Phillies and the Rangers. That's a long career. Yeah,
all right, Billy Hatcher wins that one. To say, shut
out to Billy Hatcher. I love Billy hat Shout out
to Billy Hatcher. Let's go back to the race and
Claire roofing hotline. Mike is calling in.

Speaker 9 (28:39):
What's up, Mike, yay, I got nothing wrong with Billy Hamile.
He made a whole lot more money he did.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
He did, Mike, and the Reds make some money on
the home dog tonight against Yoshi Nobu Yamamoto.

Speaker 9 (28:54):
Nope, boys, I'll tell you what Aaron Rodd. You know,
he reminds me of that used to be in baseball.
They had a character for the Boston Red Sox named
Bill Lee. Was a left hander. They're coding the spaceman
back in the seventies. Uh, he might have been pitching

(29:14):
in that World Series of Reds played in that and
he was. He was out there just like Aaron. Here's
fun though, I need to get a kick out the
super Bowl. Damn goofy.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
When Aaron talks, you want to listen because you never
know what's going to come out.

Speaker 9 (29:28):
No, the guy's out there. But you know, hey, you
know whatever. Man, he never did nothing to me, so
I'm good with it. Yeah, so you got uh the
night you got Yamamoto. The problem with the Dodgers is
a bullpen. They got a four almost a four and
a half the hour. That's what's kilning. The whole bullpen
got decimated trying and got the banner Scott. They paid

(29:48):
big money for it.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
I saw the other night Alexis Diaz was on the
mound for them in the bullpen.

Speaker 9 (29:53):
Yeah, that's how bad it is.

Speaker 10 (29:54):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (29:56):
So tonight you got Yamamoto, h versus who's throwing? What's throwing?

Speaker 4 (30:02):
Burns?

Speaker 9 (30:03):
Yeah, Chase Burns. So that's a two point five to
five versus a six point five to five. I'll take
my chances. Tomorrow night, you got big Tyler, big tile
of six foot eight Tyler Glass now hasn't pitched a
lot this year two point seventy five e r. And
when he's gone, that fastball is devastating and it gets
up there quick because of his heights.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
For the rest, you get to see the reds.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Lodolo is coming off the complete game though, where he
pitched extremely well. His consistencies and has never been there,
but he's been more consistent as of late.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
But I don't like you.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
You could sell me on like a little bit of
upside first time seeing burns and and and the juices
will be flowing. I think Wednesday is gonna be a
tough one with Martinez versus Tani.

Speaker 9 (30:47):
Yeah, I'll take I'll take Ladolo tomorrow night and beat
to beat my Dodgers. Yeah over glass now and glass
now is two one of these days though, Just to
stay healthy, kind of like Hays and played ball for
a while and get some wins. But yeah, everybody gets
to see O Tani tomorrow night. So here's the ra's
one point five other just not pisching y much. And
then they got to go to the bullpen and that's

(31:09):
where they get cooked.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
Yeah, was Max Munths.

Speaker 9 (31:12):
He's still out, that poor guy, big tough home run hitter,
just can't stay healthy. He's getting up on hurting only
years a little bit. Hel Who's going to ask you
about how how excited are you guys about this up
to this noseguard we got from the Packers. I've heard
you talk about him Slayton.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
Yeah, I he's not prolific at getting after the passer,
but I know, Austin you you were a fan of
the signing because of how good he was for the
Packers against the run, and that obviously was a huge
detriment to the Bengals defense last year, was stopping the run.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Yeah, I'm fired up about this. I think this is
going to be the single most influential signing of the
offseason because of how important he has been to the
run game. Think of DJ Reader and his prime with
the Bengals. I don't know if he's going to be
at that level, but the way he clogs up the
interior and can you know just instead of a four
yard run, it's a two yard run, and that stuff
adds up over the course of a game.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
TJ.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
Slayton as that run stopping nose tackle, I think is
going to be a huge part of this defense's success.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
And if you want to talk about helping the secondary
and helping the front four, then you got to you
gotta stop allowing teams to get the second, four, third,
and two situations. That starts with stopping the run on
early downs, which he can help with.

Speaker 9 (32:28):
So well, what what's typically the key to giving up
these gassers, these explosive plays. Is it failure at the
line of yeah, just.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
Getting dominated in the trenches and not allowing the linebackers
to to fill those gaps and make the tackles. It's
it's when those front guys get dominated and then the
offensive line can get up to the second level with
their blocks, then you get into a lot of trouble.

Speaker 9 (32:51):
Is Pratt still going to start now?

Speaker 4 (32:53):
They moved on from Jermaine Pratt? He's no longer here.

Speaker 9 (32:55):
That's right, my man. How stupid of mine. I never
mind hang up on.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Thanks Mike. You know what's interesting is might start for
the Raiders. Alexis Diaz has pitched two innings for the Dodgers.
I hope he pitches against giving up two hits and
two strikeouts, but oddly enough, he's not walked a batter.
His era is zero point zero zero with the Dodgers.

Speaker 4 (33:19):
That's incredible.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
I would want nothing more than tonight him in a
high leverage situation to come in and walk the first
three bottles in.

Speaker 4 (33:26):
I want he owes that to the red.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
The matchups in the bullpen tonight should be interesting because
Pegan and Santy and almost definitely not available. They both
pitched three days in a row, so we're probably gonna
get like Taylor Rogers against Sho Hay and Freddie Freeman
in a big moment tonight. That's gonna be exciting. And
then maybe the Dodgers have nobody else to turn to,
but trying to hold onto a one.

Speaker 4 (33:51):
Gosh, it's gonna be awesome. Sign me up all of that.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
That's one of those games you don't mind getting to
a little bit late, no, because all the action is
gonna happen from inning seven to nine.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
Let's see if we can get the Yamamoto pitch count
up early and give us a chance in the fifth
inning on.

Speaker 4 (34:08):
You know, Yoshi Nobu Yamamoto. I just like saying his name.
It is fun.

Speaker 11 (34:12):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (34:12):
Do we have the correct pronunciation or did sech have that?

Speaker 3 (34:15):
Seg has it. I don't know if I have it
with me right now. But he last uh he in
his last three starts, okay, uh, he's been pretty good.
But on the seventh of July he was at Milwaukee,
he did not make it out of the first inning.

Speaker 4 (34:36):
That's the best team in baseball.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
Four hits, three earned runs, two walks, no strikeouts. He
pitched just two and a thirds innings. And if you're
wondering here we're talking about we of course are talking
about him.

Speaker 12 (34:46):
He's pitching star Yoshi Yoshi, Yoshi Yoshi, Nobu Yamamoto.

Speaker 4 (34:54):
The Japanese pitching star.

Speaker 12 (34:56):
Oh Man, So he's pitching star yoshim Is yoshik Yoshi
Yoshi Nobu Yamamoto.

Speaker 4 (35:04):
I love it, man, I did see. I did see.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
Otani became the first player ever to give up a
first inning home run and then hit a first inning
home run. That's kind of fun last outing. So that's
so many of those things that's cool with Otana.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
It's cool.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
The Dodgers are in town. Should be a fun series
for a Reds team that's playing really well. When we
come back, we'll finish up the hour with some more
on the Cincinnati Bengals. We'll get Dowller two. Of course,
we got talkbacks to kick off the weekend. So much
more on the race. Aint Claire Roofing hotline with your

Austin is a ninety nine overall in the Game of Madden.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
First ever Bengal to be a ninety nine overall. Did
you rats?

Speaker 2 (36:25):
Did you also see him telling Joe Burrow about the
you did? What a great video that is.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
And if you're familiar with the card game Exploding Kittens,
I think that's the name of it, you would recognize
Joe Burrow's t shirt.

Speaker 13 (36:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
Now, there are a lot of people out there who
probably think what is wrong with this guy? But one
of the cards that you can play in that game
is called Taco Cat. Yeah, and Joe has a shirt
on with the picture of a cat in a taco
shell that says taco Cat spelled backwards as taco cat,

(37:06):
which is true. Which is true. But if for those
of you who may not know the reference, it's from
a game. It's like a fun little like party game.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
It is essentially, if you haven't seen the video, it's
Jamar Chase rubbing it in to Joe Burrow that he
is a ninety nine overall in Madden, and Joe just
kind of responds by cool.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
They gave him a chain.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
All the members of the ninety nine club got a chaine,
so Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, Saquon Barkley, Lane Johnson, Josh Allen,
Lamar Jackson, Am I missing anyone else? So not very
very many players get a ninety nine overall rating, but
Jamar Chase did, Yeah, and he'd let everybody know about it,
as he should. I respect that as he should. I

(37:51):
respect that. Speaking of letting people know, we can try
to get to this a little bit later on. But
Adam schefteref with Pat McAfee today and was asked about
Trey Henderson oh and basically said that if the Bengals
don't guarantee close to two years worth of money, this

(38:11):
deal will be very slow to get done. If you remember,
I think it was over the weekend there was a
report by somebody who I wasn't familiar with this person,
but basically was saying that Trey was looking for like
three years fully guaranteed, and that will never happen if
that's if that's what he's looking for, he's not going
to play again for the Bengals. But if it's close

(38:32):
to two, yeah, that would I feel like.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
Eventually, if it's close to tow and the Bengals, do
you I feel like the Bengals could get there, you
concede on that, I would think, because outside of that,
let's let's say he does at some point get back
to the Bengals. You're you're you're now all hands on
deck because right now you're you're, you're moving forward. But
there's still that thought of, well, they just need to

(38:58):
get Trey back. And maybe not, because as Charlie Goldsmith
pointed out the defensive line one today, they were the
position group of training camp to talk about. So maybe not,
but it feels like that last bit of distraction dangling
out there, if you could wrap that up, then you

(39:19):
truly do push forward to the start of the regular season,
and then I think it would I think give you
a little bit more flexibility. Right, if you're the Bengals
and you get the Trey Hendrickson deal done, it does
give you the opportunity. Let's say, worst case scenario, we
get another week or so into camp and the conversation

(39:39):
is that the old line is just not good enough.
At least, then you have an idea of what you
can spend, what you have available, and what type of
deal you can go make, because then there's nothing else
hanging out there. Let's say Noah fan, who I believe
has another visit.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
Scheduled, Yeah, visiting with the Dolphins today.

Speaker 9 (39:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
Let's say no A fan comes back and says, hey,
I made some visits. This is where I want to
be in Cincinnati. You know, if you get the trade
deal done, then you just have exactly the idea of
what you have going forward, and the Bengals have money
to make all of that happen. But there's just a
little bit more of an understanding and the knowledge there
that I think you can run with if if you're
the Cincinnati Bengals. More on the Bengals to kick off

(40:18):
Hour number two. We also your phone calls.

Speaker 4 (40:20):
We also have some.

Moe Training Camp show. At about eleven fifteen we were
asked to leave because of the thunder and lightning that
was in the area. The practice was moved to the
bubble the indoor this facility, so back here at the
Kenwood location and also as we are thanking our friends
that make this possible for training camp. Also thanks to

(43:09):
Cinti Shirts here in our number two Austin. They've got
some good stuff going on they do. Speaking of the
Jamar Chase ninety nine for Madden.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
Yeah, they have a Mister perfect with the one in
Mister coming out and actually should be up there right
now Sincy Shirts dot Com for Jamar Chase being a
ninety nine, which is a perfect rating of course in Madden.
They've also teamed up with TJ. Hushman Zada for a
couple of nifty t shirts, including one that says Hushman

(43:40):
Zada's Jungle Shine shoe Shiners. You may remember when TJ
famously shined his shoes with a terrible towel at Hines
Field in Pittsburgh many years ago. So cool to see
them working with TJ, a fan favorite. But yeah, sincey
shirts got it all going on, get ready for football season.

Speaker 4 (44:00):
Real quick.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
There is some sports news to get into. You mentioned
this news from Jeff Passing, and I think this is
a bombshell from one of the better closures in the
game of baseball.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
Yeah, Manuel Classe and a guy that could potentially have
been on the move at the trade deadline coming up
at the end of this week. A manual Classe has
been placed on non disciplinary paid leave as a part
of Major League Baseball sports betting investigation. According to Jeff
Passen of ESPN and his sources. You may remember Luis Ortiz,

(44:31):
another Guardian's pitcher who was already put on that list
tied to that investigation. So it looks like at least
two Guardian pitchers are in some way, shape or form
involved in this MLB gambling scambal sports betting investigation. So
Classe is not going to be traded now. He is

(44:52):
on the non disciplinary paid leave through August thirty first,
so just over a month that he will be on
that I guess list or on leave you know who?
They figure out that probably stem from, right, what's that
their game earlier in the week or earlier over the weekend,
Jonathan India hit a three run walk off home run
against him. They had a three two lead in the

(45:15):
tenth India walked him off. I do remember that they
probably little double header that.

Speaker 2 (45:19):
Yeah, that probably piqued the interest of some folks checking
in on Jonathan India Like, wait a second.

Speaker 4 (45:25):
Interesting, I mean, homers, does Jonathan India have this? Really?

Speaker 9 (45:29):
Yep?

Speaker 4 (45:30):
All right? You miss him as a baseball player? Do
you miss him?

Speaker 2 (45:37):
I mean he's about thirty five percent points from a
batting average standpoint better than Matt McLean right now?

Speaker 4 (45:44):
Is that indicative of a better season?

Speaker 8 (45:46):
Is? I think?

Speaker 4 (45:47):
Is the batting average indicative of a better season? I
think India is having a better year than McLean? You
think so? Yeah? Interesting, but I don't think it's by
that wide of a margin. I don't know if i'd
agree with that.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
Okay, there's also a story going on Austin around mcclaan
has more homers, more RBI, more stolen bases, a higher
slugging percentage.

Speaker 3 (46:07):
He's played in two fewer games as well. What about
Bryce Harper, Bryce Harper's beast that was going on with
Bryce Harper? Well, you know how we keep hearing about
this potential Major League Baseball lockout? Yes, well, you know,
Rob Manfred, the Commissioner of Baseball, has been going around
to all the different teams and trying to meet with
all the teams and try to get them all on

(46:27):
the same page and answer any questions because what he's
trying to do is set up a salary cap in
these negotiations, and he's kind of been telling the players
and trying to convince the players that a salary cap
would be good for them, good for the owners, and
good for baseball.

Speaker 4 (46:46):
And the players for years and years.

Speaker 3 (46:48):
And years have said, naha, ban nah, we don't want
anything to do with the salary cap, and understandably so
from their perspective. But apparently when Rob Manfred went to
meet with the Philadelphia Phillies last week, Bryce Harper took
exception to Rob kind of pushing the salary cap on
the Phillies and their players, and see if I can

(47:12):
say this eloquently. This is from Jeff Passing's story of
the on ESPN. Quiet for the majority of the meeting, Harper,
sitting in a chair and holding a bat, eventually grew
frustrated and said, if MLB were to propose a cap
and hold firm to it, players quote are not scared
to lose one hundred and sixty two games. Sources in

(47:33):
the meeting told ESPN. Harper stood up, walked toward the
middle of the room, faced up to Manford and said, quote,
if you want to speak about that, you can get
the f out of our clubhouse now. Credit here to
Rob Manfred, who, sources said, responded that he was quote
not going to get the f out of here, saying

(47:54):
it was important to talk threats, talk about threats to
MLB's business and ways to grow the game. Continuing on,
Nick Castianos was apparently the voice of reason. He tried
to diffuse the tension, saying I have more questions. The
meeting then continued. Harper and Manford eventually shook hands, sources said,

(48:15):
though Harper did not take his phone calls the next day.
I love Bryce Harper it's a really interesting story and
talking about how you know, the Major League Baseball just
keeps trying to convince the players that this is a
good thing, and they keep dangling out that they'll lock
out for the entire season if players don't get on

(48:36):
board with the salary cap. And I thought Nick Castianos
had a good analogy there. Let's see if I can
find it in the story. But he basically said, telling
people three years or two years in advance that we're
going to lock out for an entire season is like
telling your wife, yeah, we're probably going to get divorced

(48:57):
in a couple of years. So it's here's from Castiano's quote.
That's nothing to throw around. That's the same thing as
me saying in a marriage, I think divorce is a possibility,
it's probably going to happen. You just don't say those things.

Speaker 4 (49:13):
What are we doing?

Speaker 2 (49:14):
Speaking of the Phillies, they are now in second in
the NA least because the Mets are now red hot.
They've won seven in a row. Mets helped the Reds
out a little bit this week. Yeah, and the Phillies
shout out to Kyle Schwarber from Middletown. He collected his
thousandth career hit and it was in true Schwarber fashion.

Speaker 4 (49:30):
It was a home run.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
Yes, so shout out to Schwarber and that's a guy
they're gonna have to pay as well because he's in
the last year of his contract.

Speaker 4 (49:37):
Can't wait to see him and swore as hitting homers
for the Reds. Y. Yes, gavp here we come. It's
gonna be special.

Speaker 2 (49:43):
From a Bengals standpoint, if you missed it there, we
grazed over it.

Speaker 4 (49:47):
At the end of the hour.

Speaker 2 (49:48):
Trey Hendrickson, I believe you mentioned Adam Schefter was on
with Pat McAfee and said that if the Bengals don't
guarantee close to two years worth of money, this y
deal will be very slow to get done. He isn't
coming in unless he feels comfortable with the guaranteed money.
This this is on top of reports out there that

(50:10):
Trey Hendrickson is looking for three years three years of
guarantees in his contract that Austin is not going to happen. No,
three years is not going to happen. Yeah, that would
put him in the league for eleven years. We know
from a an age standpoint, how this is viewed. Guarantees

(50:31):
beyond the first year of the contract have been a
reported issue. But what's interesting here is would Hendrickson's side
agree to just two years or are they dead set
on saying no, we want three years of guarantees.

Speaker 3 (50:44):
The report from Tony paul Lane, who is considered an
NFL insider for Sportskeda dot com in an NFL Draft analyst,
this was the quote. I'm told the Bengals and Hendrickson
have agreed on the money portion of a deal. There
have been reports that hendricks And is looking for two
years guaranteed in his contract, while Cincinnati is only offering one. Yet,

(51:06):
sources tell me Tony Pauline that the pass rusher is
looking for a deal that will include guarantees for three years.
I don't think a deal will get done if that
is what Trey is pounding the table on. Yeah, and
it'd be interesting if the Bengals don't blink on that front.
What that leads to from both of these sides. Who

(51:28):
is now what he's opened up to two hundred and
fifty thousand dollars. He's been fine now already and at
least two Bengals.

Speaker 8 (51:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (51:35):
Other news here and this is as of late, and
this is good news. Have you seen this stuff around
Dion Sanders as of late? Yeah, I knew he was
having a press conference, was dealing with some serious health conditions.
There was a video that was released earlier today. It
was him talking about last week having to go through
the process of filling out a will and having to

(51:57):
wrestle with that thought of dying not surviving. Jordan Schultz
reported just a few minutes ago that Dion Sanders has
been dealing with bladder cancer and recently had his bladder
removed and he has now cured of cancer.

Speaker 3 (52:11):
It was removed and replaced, yes, which is just insane.
Said he lost twenty five pounds dealing with the cancer
and the complications from numerous surgeries. So but he does
plan to coach this year, which is obviously great news
for Dion. But I would imagine that.

Speaker 2 (52:28):
Is just kind of exhausting for a guy who's had
a lot of health issues as he's gone.

Speaker 3 (52:34):
He's had to have a toe removed, is a big
toe on his left foot, if I'm not mistaken, was
completely removed. He's dealt with a lot of stuff since
he's finished playing football.

Speaker 2 (52:43):
Let me ask you as we get back to the
Bengals here, let me ask you something I asked Mo
about Dax Hill, because we kind of finished up the
Tony Mo Training Camp show with the conversation that the
Bengals defense is essentially without a star. They're without currently
when Trey Hendrickson is not with this team. There isn't
a player on the Bengals defense that you, as an

(53:04):
offensive coordinator have to game playing around. A lot of
the players on the Bengals we talk about upside, or
we talk about hope, or we talk about a fresh start.
Dax Hill has been playing some outside corner and also
been moved inside, but he is focusing on corner under
Al Golden.

Speaker 4 (53:24):
He is super athletic.

Speaker 2 (53:26):
He's obviously knowledgeable in the game of football because he
was able to switch positions, which is very, very hard
to do. I thought that he was coming along in
a positive way before his injury last year. When you
think of the Bengals and their difference makers on defense,
where does Dax Hill slot for you? That's a good

(53:49):
question because it a guy you're not expecting much out of.
Is it a guy that anything you get out and
will be a positive, or is it a guy that's like, Okay,
this is a foundational piece. There's an extremely high sea
here with Dax Hill.

Speaker 3 (54:01):
I kind of expect him to be their best corner
this year, which is probably unsaid for him or more
about the others. Yeah, it's kind of unfair to him
coming off a knee injury to expect that. But just
because of all the things you mentioned, his intelligence, his athleticism,
his ability to change direction, play multiple positions, all that,
I feel like he can be really impactful on the

(54:21):
defense as far as, like, you know, the guy that
you game plan around or the difference maker. I don't
know if I'm ready to put him in that category yet. Yeah,
it's it's really different.

Speaker 2 (54:34):
I think from corners as like from a quarterback standpoint
of like, man, if everything's even, I'm not going to.

Speaker 4 (54:39):
That side, right.

Speaker 3 (54:40):
I think that's what Cam Taylor Brick can be, and
I think him and Dax are two different types of players.
But if you are able to kind of turn Dax
into too Leon Hall, for example, you can bounce outside,
you can bounce inside, you can cover a tight end,
you can cover a running back, and can cover a
slot receiver. You can cover an outside receiver. Then that
can be a difference making player on your defense sure,

(55:03):
and allow you to do a lot of different things.
I don't know if he's there yet.

Speaker 2 (55:09):
It is worth noting from a Bengal standpoint up to
this point that I feel like Al Golden is just
throwing as much out there as possible to see what
they can build on. There has been snaps so far
in training camp where he's actually moved Cam Taylor Britt
to snaps in the slot. So I think you are,

(55:30):
if you're the Bengals, keeping your options open, getting as
many guys reps across the whole secondary as possible, and
allowing Al Golden to sit back and analyze. Okay, this
is a strength, this is a weakness. Where can maybe
we excel with this player? Where can we hide this
player if we need to encoverage. But I like the
mentality of we're gonna give guys opportunities, We're gonna move
him around, and we're gonna see the best fit for

(55:52):
the system we're trying to run. And if we have
to dumb it down a little bit, so be it.
If we have to simplify things, so be it. But
we've talked off in the offseason. This needs to be
a defense to play fast and place confidently. If that
means you shrink the playbook down immediately and just go
extensive red zone, then so be it. But you gotta

(56:14):
play fast, and you gotta play confident. You can't second
guess yourself. And if you're going to excel, as we
talked about earlier in the show, excel is a red
zone defense. Force teams to take field goals instead of
touchdowns against this Bengals offense. Coming back, and you're gonna
win a lot more games than you lose. Let's take
a break when we come back talkbacks the Monday edition

(56:37):
the slate ist Clean. A talkback winner will be given
on Friday with the SINSI Shirts gift card. Your first
opportunity is next on ESPN fifteen to thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 1 (56:48):
Hey Alackancy three to sixty is back on ESPN fifteen thirty,
Cincinnati's sports station.

Speaker 4 (56:56):
All right, bo, why be hear your cook wild Oh World?
Oh too ah fruit.

Speaker 15 (57:07):
Let's listen to some talk backs left, listen to the clouds,
Get me a budd oft suprack jokes. We hope those
other two divert come back over.

Speaker 4 (57:26):
The room fo totally all dophing comes close to the show.

Speaker 15 (57:35):
We got hag right, Hello o the stars over talk
back show.

Speaker 4 (57:45):
Rights wild rads.

Speaker 3 (57:47):
Well, come on, did you know it was a rough
weekend for Harry's great grandson. No, Harry's great grandson is
one of the announcers for the Athletic Well.

Speaker 4 (58:00):
Then yes, I did. I did, oh boy.

Speaker 3 (58:03):
And there was a home run that was hit by
I think Lawrence Butler, Lawrence of Arabia Butler, and he
launched one into like the second deck in right center field.

Speaker 4 (58:14):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (58:15):
But Harry's grandson lost it in the lights and thought
it went foul. The ball was hit so far that
the fielders didn't move, so that's why he thought it
was foul, because he's probably looking at the fielders to
see where they're at. The fielders didn't hardly move at all.
They just watched it and said that Paul is foul
and it's bouncing off the upper deck.

Speaker 4 (58:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (58:36):
Not only that, but it was just an absolute bomb.
That was a tough one bomb, man, that is that's
a tough way to go.

Speaker 3 (58:43):
When I found out that was Harry's great grandson, I
started doing some digging, like there's like ten carries that
are really like been broadcast. His brother, Harry's brother did
it for a long time, like his son did it forever.
There's Chip Carry who's with the Cardinals and Jack, and
then there's like Chris and they're.

Speaker 4 (59:01):
They're all over the place, all right lineage. Yeah, man,
I am so Joseph Moegger.

Speaker 5 (59:11):
He got to meet and interview ice Cube, the absolute
icon legend, probably my all time favorite rapper.

Speaker 16 (59:18):
Money to come in to studio to meet that guy
that said Red Lakes, you're still on business.

Speaker 4 (59:22):
Tomorrow was Stewart's finally in the fold. We're gonna get Trey.

Speaker 17 (59:26):
I went Miley Henderson and the camp on a new contract.

Speaker 4 (59:29):
Take care of everybody and always remember. That's a good
start there to the week from you know, Mo's been
on a bit of a heater.

Speaker 8 (59:37):
Later.

Speaker 4 (59:38):
Not only does Mo interview ice Cube, but he hosts
a Q and A with Joe Burrow.

Speaker 8 (59:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (59:44):
He obviously has the Moegger Radio Show and about to
give away the Moegger Award for Bengals Training Camp. He's
been down to Bengals training camp with you. What a
life to guy list, Peter, They're not.

Speaker 4 (59:57):
I don't realize what Ford is going off and on
one die for no particular rising, just running yup, yup, yup.
It's go.

Speaker 16 (01:00:11):
Just curious why whenever Tony talks about a E. Dorn window,
why he puts a long emphasis on all these many years.

Speaker 4 (01:00:25):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
I think I'm just emphasizing the amount of time, over
the course of time that they have been proud sponsors
of the Cincinnati Bengals. I think you should say, from
the standpoint of the all these many years standpoint's got
to slow down.

Speaker 4 (01:00:39):
It's Adam and I'd like to get your something.

Speaker 18 (01:00:43):
Everyone seems to think that Suarez is coming back to Cincinnati,
and the talk on the AX is that they want
a three to four year extension. However, at the end
of that he'll be thirty six, thirty seven years old.
Are you guys afraid that he's gonna end up like
Vado with a big old contract and just falling apart
before it ends.

Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
The only thing with Suarez that I'm worried about is
the report on so many teams that were in on
him and nothing has been done yet. That tells me
that he either wants more or that the asking price
is extremely high from the Diamondback.

Speaker 3 (01:01:17):
Well, I think the Dbacks asking prices is really high.
I've heard about like a one to two year extension.
I haven't heard anything about a three to four year extension.

Speaker 8 (01:01:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:01:26):
I don't know that anybody would be willing to give
him a four year three year extension, but yeah, I
mean I think with if you want to win now though,
with the Yankees and Mariners kind of going to their
backup plans, curious what that does to the price.

Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
If anything, I'd ask this, would you rather overpay and
go into a three year extension with Suarez or ride
it out without him?

Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
Well, the the spanner and the works there is Suth
Stuart Hmm. I don't know if you saw, but Sal
had a good weekend. Yeah, and he's probably gonna get
up here and play third base.

Speaker 4 (01:02:03):
Okay, So so you're looking for more of a rental.

Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
I guess I would. I would assume. I think Marcelo
Zuna has been talked about as well, which you know,
maybe makes a little bit more sense from DH. I
don't know, but I don't think it's fair to say, oh, well,
South Stewart's gonna get here in September and carry us
through the playoffs. No, so, yeah, I guess I would
look more of a rental.

Speaker 19 (01:02:27):
Okay, el Lea's glove may never be gold. Come on,
his clutch hits be the other team's cold.

Speaker 20 (01:02:40):
Yeah, he's got game.

Speaker 4 (01:02:43):
Yeah so, Jeff, the skills are rare okay, and he'll
soon be.

Speaker 8 (01:02:51):
A million.

Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
Let's go what Jeff and Virginia right there? Jeff may
be your best Chris Stapleton cover. I'll say this, That's
what I'm talking about I have. I've found myself recently.
The easier the ball is hit to Ellie, the more
I worry about the throw. It's almost like the longer

(01:03:15):
he makes, the more he thinks about it, and the
throw then suffers.

Speaker 4 (01:03:20):
That's fair.

Speaker 3 (01:03:23):
Uh oh, I heard him. I heard him try to
say something. Yeah, this is I think this is Seth
and Simms Township. Faulty microphone.

Speaker 21 (01:03:34):
Oh no, it's the Lord or Savior in the sky.
What a great sports weekend?

Speaker 4 (01:03:39):
Tell me about it?

Speaker 21 (01:03:40):
The Red sweep the Rays. We signed Chamar. Now all
we need to do is get Trey on board, get
him signed and in camp, and then everything will be perfect.

Speaker 4 (01:03:52):
Leg all right, can you help us out with that?

Speaker 8 (01:03:55):
All Yeah, lord, Chamar is in camp, Burton's looking great,
and the old Evan mcpheersoon is back.

Speaker 4 (01:04:04):
It's a good day to be a Bengals fan.

Speaker 2 (01:04:06):
Yeah, McPherson eighteen for eighteen to start training camp and
Jermaine Burden wearing a cape.

Speaker 22 (01:04:11):
Gosh, I'm glad to see Shamar there, but I think
the city of Cincinnati really miss an opportunity of having
him throw out first pitch on Saturday at the Reds
baseball game.

Speaker 4 (01:04:22):
I thought that had been a real good way to.

Speaker 23 (01:04:24):
Men the ties here. And it also does it not
chap you all behind. I mean, mine's red that they
had in first pitches. Now, what happens to just having
one first pitch and start the game. There's any of
them going on for forty minutes ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (01:04:38):
I agree with you on that. There is a little
bit of that.

Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
And if you're gonna say it's a ceremonial first pitch, well,
then do it down the line of ceremonial first, a
ceremonial second.

Speaker 4 (01:04:48):
Yeah, like you know, riping running here, watch Jim well
as we close.

Speaker 10 (01:04:56):
Out your eye.

Speaker 4 (01:04:57):
It's that time of year.

Speaker 6 (01:04:58):
No matter how hard they try, the Reds disappear, but
they have other plans. They're back in the race. YEA
make spokeget about Burrow and Chase. The Bengals signed Stewart.
Tray is paying a fine, but the Reds are rolling
like it's nineteen ninety nine. If they falter to the Bengals,
I will go through the Berlin wall snock bubbles in
the nose. O.

Speaker 3 (01:05:22):
Man, that was awesome. The snot bubbles is fantastic. Did
you hear at the very beginning how he set up
his well, yep, listen to.

Speaker 4 (01:05:29):
This ripping Ronnie here? Well, well as we it's good. Yeah,
he just he continues to evolve.

Speaker 24 (01:05:39):
That is big time stuff repping in Natty out here
in Sonny, Sonny, hot Zona?

Speaker 4 (01:05:43):
What up Tonny?

Speaker 24 (01:05:44):
What up?

Speaker 4 (01:05:44):
Body? No fun day Monday? But I had a great
day to day.

Speaker 24 (01:05:48):
So far, so good because my Cincinnati sports teams are
flexing and looking great. Red's with the sweet Bengals getting
Stewart's signed, I've see Cincinnati still showing a dominance in MLS,
even though Philly on top. They it won't last forever.
Right now, it's a great time to be a Cincinnati
Spots fan. I'm expecting big things from the Bengals. Now,
I'm expecting things from the Rids, and I'm definitely expecting

(01:06:08):
things from FC Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (01:06:10):
I heard I heard a horn back there. Yeah, I
saw a video from Ronnie to day walking to the
to the job. Really just letting folks know how you
still Cincinnati doing too.

Speaker 4 (01:06:19):
I didn't see that. Yeah, I gotta see all what
Ronnie runs up to.

Speaker 25 (01:06:22):
Yeah, Kate, Kate, Kate from Montgomery, wake up?

Speaker 9 (01:06:25):
Yeah? Sure you're driving.

Speaker 25 (01:06:26):
Safely, yes, all the way to Arkansas to visit your
granddaughter and your daughter and son in law.

Speaker 9 (01:06:33):
Stay safe.

Speaker 25 (01:06:33):
I think you're super brave driving to Arkansas all by yourself.
Will you drive to Charleston some time with me to
visit my daughter and grandson. Anyway, have a great time
and a great visit.

Speaker 9 (01:06:44):
Go Bengals, Go Rids.

Speaker 8 (01:06:46):
Who day?

Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
Yeah, Kate asked earlier if we could just maybe once
an hour just mention her to make sure she's still
awake and attentive.

Speaker 4 (01:06:53):
So all right, wake up, Kate.

Speaker 26 (01:06:54):
Yeah, like Tony Austin, this is Ryan, Hey, Ryan at
Shore Park, Okay in East Skate today went to the game,
my boy yesterday got to see that sweep Brady singer
was singing a nice tune yesterday seven and a third,
one run in eight. K's come on, this team's cooking, man,

(01:07:18):
They're looking good. They need to get them bats at
a little warmed up more though, But maybe we go
pick up somebody to help.

Speaker 4 (01:07:24):
Us out with that. About to help out?

Speaker 3 (01:07:27):
Did you see that the Rays have a reliever named
Mason Montgomery which clearly last name is Road. Yeah, I
mean there, crawl Gentry Crawls should be on the phone
right now. I mean that would do numbers. Mason Montgomery
Road is a reliever for the Reds.

Speaker 9 (01:07:48):
And all.

Speaker 26 (01:07:49):
It's not gonna ride on your coat tails with the
Reds getting swept these next three games.

Speaker 4 (01:07:55):
Wink wink, yep, go Red.

Speaker 27 (01:07:59):
I don't want to question the Red's decision making too
much when they sweep a series. However, I really don't
understand why Santian and Pegan were used Friday night with
a five run lead and Pegan was used Saturday night
with a four run lead. Now, yesterday made a lot
of sense. It was a tight ball game. They came
through once again, three days in a row. They were amazing,

(01:08:21):
But why waste them those first two nights?

Speaker 10 (01:08:23):
Now?

Speaker 27 (01:08:24):
You don't have either of them available for a game
that's arguably more important tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
I'd have to look at what they had done before that.
Maybe you just needed to get them some work Friday night.
But I would push back a little bit. I would
say that yesterday you now and Austin you mentioned how
Francona did it. I think you have to manage every
game like it's the most important, yep. And I think
he did that yesterday.

Speaker 3 (01:08:45):
And I think part of it too was taking a
little bit of pressure off those guys. They've been working
a lot, worry and giving those other bullpen arms a
chance to rest.

Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
Worry about today when it gets here, or worry about tomorrow,
take care of what you can right now.

Speaker 4 (01:08:59):
And that's that helped they swept the race.

Speaker 3 (01:09:01):
And while they might go into today with Pegan and
santi and unavailable, they might have everybody else good to
go in the bullpen, and that could be you know,
you can be a little bit flexible there and if
nothing else, you'll still probably have Pagan and Santy and
ready to go tomorrow. I mean, their numbers in those

(01:09:22):
three games were ridiculous, like eight strikeouts. I think combined
between the both of them and two total hits and
all their innings of work. Yeah, you're right, win today,
figure tomorrow out tomorrow.

Speaker 8 (01:09:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 27 (01:09:34):
Quick thought on FC Cincinnati over the weekend. Not all
that disappointed in the draw in Miami. Didn't allow a
goal for the second time in a row against that squad.
I don't care if Messi's playing or not. That's impressive.
Miami scores two and a half goals a game. You
didn't allow a goal in two matches. Yeah, they took
away the Robinson goal, but they also didn't call a
foul on Jedlind that would have resulted in a PK.

(01:09:56):
So things kind of evened out there. Almos FCC onto
the League's Cup.

Speaker 4 (01:10:00):
Let's go okay, right, Lee's Cup getting underway. Thursday. Here
we go.

Speaker 10 (01:10:06):
Monday, Monday, Just a muggy Monday. The ring came out,
The sun is shining steel. Muggy, Muggy.

Speaker 4 (01:10:19):
Can you hear the Warblers warblin? Yes we can.

Speaker 10 (01:10:26):
You guys have another bestday ever?

Speaker 4 (01:10:33):
You shooting too?

Speaker 13 (01:10:34):
Yeah, get pen and paper ready because we're gonna play ringum.

Speaker 4 (01:10:39):
Yes.

Speaker 13 (01:10:39):
Rank the following people who have a location as a
last name. Jonathan India Joe Montana, right, Cassie Ireland, Scott Norwood,
Bob Denver, Quentin, Spain, Benito, Santiago. Santiago of course is

(01:11:00):
the capital.

Speaker 3 (01:11:01):
Yeah, I'm gonna start. I'm gonna start. Uh gosh, that's
gonna start. Bob Denver.

Speaker 4 (01:11:08):
Yeah, I don't know. I don't know how to.

Speaker 2 (01:11:10):
I can't rank all of them, but I'll put at
the top Joe Montana because I think Man Montana would
be fascinating to explore.

Speaker 3 (01:11:16):
I guess I'm not starting anybody, but I would rank Yeah, Montana, Montana, Denver, India, Spain, Santiago, Norwood, Ireland.

Speaker 2 (01:11:25):
Guys, I don't know who. Kathy Ireland, by the way,
rank them our our guy. Sheldon Rankins kind of revealed
what he was going through last year. Yeah, that was insane.

Speaker 3 (01:11:35):
Sheldon Rankins was talking to the media in Houston today
and said he had that viral meningitis and shingles at
the same time last year and at one point lost
fifty pounds.

Speaker 4 (01:11:47):
Unbelievable, ridiculous.

Speaker 21 (01:11:49):
Donny, I what's up.

Speaker 8 (01:11:50):
It's Tony's great side down there at Deglis training camp
putting in some good work. We had to get the
heck out of there today because it came in click
Ran cat Dogs.

Speaker 11 (01:12:03):
You have your thoughts on Shamar Stewart's and his.

Speaker 8 (01:12:08):
Indication that he's fine with what his agent did and
he seems to think he gained something.

Speaker 10 (01:12:14):
Out of us.

Speaker 8 (01:12:15):
He gets the exact same amount of money he.

Speaker 4 (01:12:18):
Gained the well got five hundred thousand dollars more.

Speaker 2 (01:12:23):
Look, I think this was a case of each side
drawing their line in the sand, and Shamar is clearly
going to have the back of his guy. That's just
what I took it as Now as for what he said,
you know, when he was here in town and talking
about the organization and things like that. Hopefully you just

(01:12:45):
move on from that for both sides. But that would
be the only side I would be concerned about. Yeah,
I didn't expect him to come out and throw him
under the under the bus. And I think that Schamar
probably agrees with him, probably thinks he's right. Yeah, I did,
you know, say he wants his agent to be a
bulldog and he doesn't have to worry about stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:13:07):
And all I know is it's he's probably not going
to get a second contract. Enjoy it now, A half the.

Speaker 19 (01:13:15):
Jungle pass your life Whills.

Speaker 13 (01:13:18):
There's a rookie now you have in the coach's jail.

Speaker 4 (01:13:21):
It's a gold summer. No, man, Yeah, he's just.

Speaker 10 (01:13:30):
Dumb and slow.

Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
But Mark doot Wheels now he's hid in the vast
slashing by stars.

Speaker 4 (01:13:36):
Wow, that's good. Ryan's the best. Well done.

Speaker 17 (01:13:43):
Hey, it's Jim and Milford and yeah, I'm the source
of odd things. And with August coming up, it's like
swimming pool month. Got me thinking what came first, the
word swimming pool or pool table?

Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
I would imagine swimming pool. I would think so too,
because it's just the natural pools of water. Yeah, why
is it called a pool table? Why is the game
called pool?

Speaker 4 (01:14:15):
Great question? Some call it billiards? Are you good at that?
I'm okay, I'm okay.

Speaker 27 (01:14:23):
Tony Santy can pitch every night if he needs to
for the Reds, because, as John Crux said, you can't
pull fat.

Speaker 4 (01:14:29):
Okay, all right, be nice to my guy, Tony Santy.
That looks good. That word is offensive to some of us.
I think he looks healthy. It's great. Sorry, guys, I
got a new job and I haven't been able to
keep up. Man, that's why you're angry. Have you broken
down how terrible. Happy Gilmore Too was pretty big disappointment.

Speaker 2 (01:14:50):
I didn't watch it yet. I've watched it, don't keep
it simple. I don't think from a storyline standpoint, it
was very good. But if you're watching Happy Gilmore, I laughed,
I smiled. I was taken aback by so many different cameos.
It felt like one cameo after another. But I'm never

(01:15:12):
one watching Happy Gilmore for the storyline.

Speaker 4 (01:15:14):
Anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
I thought it served its purpose. I thought it was
a good laugh. It's something I might revisit one day.
It's not as good as the first Happy Gilmore, but
I thought it was fine. I heard my guy Dan
Patrick had a pretty decent role in it. I've anyone
and everyone had a good role in the movie. I've
never seen the first one, so I don't know what

(01:15:37):
to compare to. Should I watch the first one? Yes,
before watching the second one? Yes, just make it a
night Because isn't Happy Gilmore Too like just a lot
of references to the first movie.

Speaker 4 (01:15:47):
I mean, I know the premise of the first movie.
I mean everybody does, but yeah, yeah, I had very
little interest in my gosh, and never watching either movie.

Speaker 3 (01:15:57):
I'm doing, man is Adam Sandler or Adam sand their
movie's funny still, Yes, I think so.

Speaker 4 (01:16:02):
We had this big debate the type of humor that
I am drawn to.

Speaker 3 (01:16:06):
We had a big debate over the weekend if like
he still makes funny movies or not.

Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
He's got like his wife's in it, he's got his
daughter that's in it. I think it's cool that he
keeps it in the family. I also think it's cool
he drove himself to his movie premiere. Yeah, which is cool.
I mean that's just that's who's just an everyday guy.
But like, what about the actual content.

Speaker 4 (01:16:25):
I think it's funny.

Speaker 2 (01:16:26):
Like Derek Henry mentioned recently that he wanted to be
in a sailor that he wanted to meet him, and
Sandler's like, I'll put you in a movie. He's very
loyal to his friends. For sure, is Adam saying has
the same people and you run in his circle, Man,
you're gonna make some money. It's like Dan Patrick's been
in like twenty five of the movies. Yep, all right,
that was our last one.

Speaker 4 (01:16:45):
Very good. Yeah, I saw a lot. It got a
lot of hate over the week it did.

Speaker 2 (01:16:50):
But again, if you're like watching happy Gilmore Because you
want to see like a theatrical masterpiece of storytelling, you
gotta know you're in the wrong movie anyway. Correct, it's goofy,
it's funny and like I found myself like, man, I
can't believe that.

Speaker 4 (01:17:04):
Person's in it.

Speaker 3 (01:17:04):
Who is the most Yeah? I was gonna say, who's
the most insane? Like can you do without spoiling it?

Speaker 4 (01:17:09):
Or people care?

Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
I don't think people would care. Uh, this is Bunny
is hilarious, Bad Bunny, Bad Bunnies. Is Caddie the singer?

Speaker 4 (01:17:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:17:20):
Oh boy, I thought Travis Kelsey was actually good. Oh
I forgot Travis was. And his dad has a cameo,
like not a speaking I did see that, not a
speaking role. But he's like it like, it's just mister
Kelsey's back there.

Speaker 4 (01:17:32):
Yeah, it's it is.

Speaker 2 (01:17:34):
It's a who's who of people that are in it
that you're like, wow, Yeah, I guess if you're if
you're like highly critical of an Adam Sandler movie, you
got to understand that, like Adam's not trying to make
a movie to win an award or to change the
discourse around a topic.

Speaker 3 (01:17:50):
He's trying to make a movie. He thinks it's funny
and take care of his friend. And it was never
it was never ever going to be like the.

Speaker 4 (01:18:01):
The best.

Speaker 3 (01:18:01):
It is never gonna top Happy Gilmore one. Do you
have a hot movie take about any movie like good
or bad?

Speaker 15 (01:18:09):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:18:09):
Not really, Okay, this is maybe my hottest take. I
didn't think Stepbrothers was funny, and.

Speaker 2 (01:18:17):
That is a just there ridiculous take a couple of
moments where it's like ha ha, But like I and
I love Will Ferrell.

Speaker 3 (01:18:27):
I would go to bat for Will Ferrell any day
of the week. But I watched step Brothers and I
was like, this is one of the dumbest films I've
ever seen in my life. But I guess is not funny.

Speaker 4 (01:18:35):
But again, you're watching that knowing what it is now,
I thought.

Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
I mean you could say that, I guess you could
kind of apply the same logic to Adam sandlerms.

Speaker 2 (01:18:43):
Most dumb comedies. I'm not like, I'm not caring about
the storyline anyway. I thought Step Brothers was so stupid.
For instance, John Daly was hilarious and happy gilt, there
were there were a couple golfers in it. I thought
Scotti Scheffler was hilarious. He was in jail right, yes,
because he poked fun of his own arrest. They came

(01:19:04):
to arrest him on a tea box and he's like,
don't worry, guy's been here before, like puts his hand
behind his back. I thought he was hilarious. Will's alaturus
because he looked like the caddie and the original Happy
Gilmore was in it.

Speaker 4 (01:19:16):
I just I thought that all of it was was
well done.

Speaker 2 (01:19:21):
Now I'm getting for a happy Gilmore for a hap
let's again, let me say this, a happy Gilmore Adam
Sandler movie. What else were you expecting? Yeah, now I'm
getting killed for not knowing who Kathy Ireland is.

Speaker 8 (01:19:35):
Do you know who that is?

Speaker 3 (01:19:37):
I believe I know Kathy Ireland. Okay, apparently be your guests. Well,
I just pulled up her Wikipedia page. It says she's
an actress, author, entrepreneur, fashion designer, philanthropist, and former supermodel
and she was in thirteen consecutive Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues,
so clearly she's had some successful work. And in the no,

(01:20:03):
I've never seen this woman in my life, at least
not knowingly. In the same segment to admitting not knowing
Kathy Ireland. You also admitted to not seeing the original
Happy Gilmore.

Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
Yeah, that listen. I've never I've never hidden from this.
I've never run from this. I've always always run the
other way. I've always so run the other one. I'm
not a movie guy.

Speaker 4 (01:20:25):
I never have been. There's so many.

Speaker 3 (01:20:29):
Every once in a while, I'll get like this, you know,
like just desire to watch a movie, and then that's
when I'll normally like go to the list of stuff
I haven't watched, like what's the what's the one movie
with David Spade and uh, the Big Fellow Who's not
with us anymore?

Speaker 4 (01:20:47):
Tommy boy?

Speaker 3 (01:20:49):
No, No, that was one that I crossed off the list,
and that was hilarious, great movie. It just takes me
years and years and years. I just saw Interstellar over
like two months ago, three months ago.

Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
I've just found out on we were on vacation and
we'd have downtime or laying around at night. We started
watching Harry Potter. Okay, I've not watched all the Harry
Potter movies, sure, but my brother's big into Harry Potter.
My wife likes Harry Potter, and we started watching them
with Wilder and he like loved the first one. So
we watched like two or three of them down there,
and then we got back home and I was watching

(01:21:20):
one the other night and he looks at me. He's like, Dad,
this these movies terrify me. And I thought, and I
was like, yep, I can see that. Yeah, So sometimes
I get caught up on the wrong side of it.
But I was never allowed to watch Harry Potter.

Speaker 9 (01:21:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:21:35):
My wife said that too. Yeah, when she was growing up,
because I was witches and stuff, I was allowed to
watch Harry Potter.

Speaker 8 (01:21:40):
I was.

Speaker 3 (01:21:41):
I wasn't allowed to watch Teletubbies for a while. I
don't I still to this day, don't know what that's
all about. What do you mean for a while if
you've gone back and watched all the tell I haven't
fair play there.

Speaker 4 (01:21:52):
I have not done that.

Speaker 3 (01:21:54):
I'm trying to think, like, there's also I couldn't play
like Yu gi oh cards and all that sort of stuff.
My friends make fun of me all the time, saying
I was a heavily sheltered.

Speaker 2 (01:22:03):
Show like many My parents let me watch teletubis but
I showed them when I moved out.

Speaker 4 (01:22:08):
I've watched every.

Speaker 3 (01:22:09):
Season I like my dad always says, or my parents,
whenever it gets brought up that I haven't seen movies,
They're like all he ever did was watch like Mike
and air Bud over and over and over, which is true,
Like those are the only movies.

Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
And the Mighty Ducks. Yeah, used to watch those all
the time. You know, there's like twenty different air Buds,
like every sport possible you can find.

Speaker 4 (01:22:29):
They didn't I see over the weekend they're bringing back Airbud.
Wouldn't surprise me. It's gonna be another one.

Speaker 2 (01:22:33):
Baseball, soccer, basketball, you name it. Air Bud's been in it.
We'll take a break mercifully. This was maybe our best
segment in months.

Speaker 4 (01:22:42):
I think so. I think so.

I have gotten over the last six minutes while we
were on break, some calling me sheltered, some saying names
I can't say on the air, Others standing in solidarity

(01:23:38):
with me. I mean, it's nice to be reminded just
how many folks are listening on a rainy, muggy Monday
in the tri State, the nation, in the world.

Speaker 2 (01:23:47):
I mean, we talked Shamar Stewart not a soul. Yeah,
we talked about happy Gilmour full phone line and maybe
that's the beauty of Adam Sandler. Real quick Postman law
injury report injured postman delivers call eight four to four Postman.
Unfortunate news over the weekend for Carson Spires. For the

(01:24:09):
Cincinnati Reads, it was de trumped over the weekend that
he will require Tommy John surgery on the right elbow.
That is obviously devastating news for Carson Spires. Wade Miley
has increased his throwing distance off flat ground up to
one hundred and twenty feet. According to MLB dot Com Austin. Yeah,
apparently Wade Miley's going to try to come back for him.

Speaker 3 (01:24:31):
I guess that's officially been a decision made by Wade Miley.

Speaker 4 (01:24:34):
So that's cool.

Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
Rhett Louder is tentively scheduled to throw from a bullpen
mound on August seventeenth, according to MLB dot Com.

Speaker 3 (01:24:44):
Well, he's not coming back this year, so I don't
know if that matters. Hunter Green, what do we know
of Hunter Green? Hunter Green pitched over the weekend. He
is supposed to pitch again tomorrow night in Omaha with
Triple A Louisville, Omaha. So he's supposed to be fifty
five pitches in that game tomorrow night, Okay, and then
we'll see where he goes from there.

Speaker 4 (01:25:05):
Okay. Uh, we have a phone call. We'll get to

Speaker 4 (01:26:46):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (01:26:46):
John?

Speaker 20 (01:26:48):
Good afternoon, Tony, Good afternoon, Austin. You get listeners all
the way here in Boston, Massachusetts.

Speaker 4 (01:26:53):
So love great job, Love.

Speaker 20 (01:26:54):
It absolutely well. You brought up Wade mildly like he's
old enough to he would know who capt Island does
take battle. I mean Kathy Island's by age sixty two,
so I don't want to give away too much information,
but she was the it girl back then, and she
was in her prime. Now she'd probably be dating or
being married to one of the NFL quarterbacks that every
other swimsuit model that goes to quarterbacks, because why wouldn't they?

(01:27:18):
Right told of you know that you experienced that absolutely
Who wouldn't want to be a quarterback? Even for a weekend?
That seems like it could be a pretty fun escapade.
But as far as Trey Hendrickson, the interesting thing about
him is, first, I just want to run a couple
of stats by you guys. Last year led the league
in sacks at seventeen and a half. Doesn't do much
against the run. He's not going to drop in coverage
and give you anything.

Speaker 9 (01:27:38):
There.

Speaker 20 (01:27:39):
Seven of his half seven and a half of his
sack game in two.

Speaker 8 (01:27:41):
Games against the Raiders and Steelers.

Speaker 20 (01:27:44):
He also had two sacks and four other games, so
he had fifteen and a half of his seventeen and
a half sacks and grand total of six games, meaning
he had two sacks in the other eleven games. So
I think some of his stats are a little bit hollow.
And also as far as the contract negotiation, wasn't a
Reagan and said many many many years ago while Kapy
Island was the fifth girl that we look at negotiations.

(01:28:07):
If you get eighty percent of what you want, that's
called a win. So my solution would be three years.
Again it's not my money, three years ninety six million,
sixty four million guarantee. That's two years thirty two million
of signing bonus. I think both sides would be happy
with that. Get them in and get rid of those
distractions and start attacking your other two needs, guide and
safety and now You've got yourself a Super Bowl I think,

(01:28:29):
not just a contender, but a co favorite in the AFC.

Speaker 4 (01:28:33):
Yeah, and it's added on.

Speaker 2 (01:28:35):
I'm schefter today said that he believes that the Bengals
and Trey Hendrickson are quote anywhere between six and ten
million and guaranteed money apart, so it doesn't feel like
this is a situation where they are not even close
with each other. So I agree, can you can you
give in a little bit of you're Trey hendricksonside, knowing
that the Bengals are willing to pay you and even

(01:28:57):
maybe pay you in guarantees into that second year. But
I think John, you and make the point that that's
one we've alluded to this offseason. You're not paying Trey
Hendrickson the money of the top pass rushers in the NFL,
because those pass rushers affect.

Speaker 4 (01:29:08):
The run game.

Speaker 2 (01:29:09):
They bat balls down, they line up on the left side,
the right side, they go on the interior, they drop
into coverage. Trey Hendrickson lines up in the same spot
and he gets after the passer, and he's very good
at getting that to the passer, but his repertoire is
not as advanced as these other pass rushers, and I
think that there has to be an understanding from his
side that that does diminish the value a little.

Speaker 9 (01:29:28):
Bit without question.

Speaker 20 (01:29:31):
And then you factor in his age and the fact
that he won the pass rush last year, right, they
were one of the worst pass rushing teams in the league.
Now you can read into that.

Speaker 8 (01:29:39):
Is he the guy who gets a lot of rebounds
on a.

Speaker 20 (01:29:41):
Team that doesn't rebound well?

Speaker 9 (01:29:42):
Who knows?

Speaker 20 (01:29:43):
I mean, there's a lot of factors that go into that.
Certainly they do need him, and maybe the deal maker
will be if Joe Burrow lets him use his batmobile
once a week out there.

Speaker 4 (01:29:51):
Deal there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:29:52):
I like where you're thinking. Thank you, John, appreciate the
history lesson for Austin as well.

Speaker 4 (01:29:59):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:30:01):
It is worth noting seventeen and a half sacks last year.
There were seven games in which Trey Hendrickson did not
register a sack, and in those games you talk about
the overall impact the New England Patriots. Week one, no sacks,

(01:30:21):
two total tackles against the Carolina Panthers on the road,
no sacks, one assisted tackle, one solo tackle against the
Baltimore Ravens. Austin who hung forty one on the board.
Against the Bengals, he had zero sacks and three total tackles.
Zero sacks against the Eagles, four tackles against a backup

(01:30:44):
left tackle and Fred Johnson. By the way, both games
against the Ravens last year, Trey Henderson did not register
one tackle correct or one sack. The Pittsburgh game where
Pittsburgh hung forty eight no sacks, the win at Tennessee
no sacks. So it's not like he was just consistently
dominate every game. Three and a half sacks against the

(01:31:05):
Pittsburgh Steelers on January fourth, like that.

Speaker 3 (01:31:11):
Now, and that was to his credit, that was a
gotta have it game, sure, to get them, you know,
just to have a chance for Sunday. He had four
socks against the Raiders, correct, which was a terrible offensive line.
So out of his seventeen and a half sacks, seven
and a half were in two games.

Speaker 4 (01:31:27):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (01:31:27):
I made this point months ago, and I was just
destroyed for it because the vast majority of product of
his production came in those two games.

Speaker 4 (01:31:37):
Sure, and you know.

Speaker 3 (01:31:43):
Those were also like for the TFLs on the season.
I mean that counts as well. Think about this, if
you remove the sacks, seventeen and a half, he had
just nineteen tackles for loss.

Speaker 2 (01:31:57):
Yeah no, no, excuse me, he had night team tackles
for lost with the with the sacks. That's one and
a half tackles for a loss outside of the sacks, correct,
Which that's kind of been my whole point with this.
Does Trey deserve more money?

Speaker 4 (01:32:09):
Yes he does.

Speaker 3 (01:32:11):
I'm even okay with you giving him two years of
guaranteed money. I wouldn't love it, but I'm okay with
it because your future is uncertain with Shamar, with Miles,
with Osai and others. They're probably gonna draft him their
head guy in the first round next year. But you know,
to just sit there and give this guy three years

(01:32:32):
one hundred million dollars, I just think that would be foolish.
I don't think that's good business. Yeah, it's hard, it's
a it's a tough back and forth. And Trey Hendrickson,
to his credit, put himself in this situation. Yeah, and
the Bengals by last year, if if the report if
the Bengals last year came to Trey Hendrickson and said, hey,
you know, if if you produce again this year, then
then we're gonna we're gonna get you paid.

Speaker 4 (01:32:54):
Then that's on them too.

Speaker 3 (01:32:55):
Now it's it's different if the Bengals said, hey, if
you come out and lead the league again in sacks,
gonna give you three years of guaranteed money, sure? Or
did they say we're gonna give you another raise?

Speaker 9 (01:33:04):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:33:05):
And and again I go back to this, if Joe
Burrow doesn't speak up on behalf of t Higgins, is
this Ray's already done?

Speaker 4 (01:33:15):
M Maybe like I will know, we won't know that.
I think Jermaine Burton being a bust not a bust.
He was a bad year one. Yeah, being a problem
child last year played a pretty big role in that.

Speaker 2 (01:33:28):
But wouldn't that also with Trey Hendrickson bode well because
Miles Murphy and Joseph sagworn't great.

Speaker 3 (01:33:33):
Sure, it's that's my point is because the Bengals have
not been able to draft and develop these dudes on
the edge, they've kind of put painted themselves into a
corner of like, Okay, we're gonna have to pay trade
probably more than we want to.

Speaker 4 (01:33:45):
And that's the that's the crazy thing.

Speaker 2 (01:33:47):
Moe gave that stat from Paul Danner Junior today on
the Tony and Moe Training Camp Show, nine of the
eleven projected starters on the Bengals defense were top one
hundred draft picks.

Speaker 3 (01:33:56):
Yep, that's insane and they were. They've been terrible, which
is why louis. That is the reason why lou Ana
Rumo's not here. It's not because his defense was too complicated.
It's because he didn't get the most out of those
young points.

Speaker 2 (01:34:08):
Complete misses, or at least in the lou Ana Rumo system,
they're viewed as complete missis.

Speaker 3 (01:34:13):
And to be clear, I don't blame all that on
lou but they're not going to fire Duke Tobin and
the entire scouting staff, so lose the fall guy there.
And you know, lou wasn't without fault for sure, but
you know what I mean, Yeah, that is uh I
would be if it were up to me. I've said
this before. I'd give Trey two years, fully guaranteed, sixty

(01:34:39):
million dollars and with incentives it can get up to.

Speaker 4 (01:34:44):
Seventy. Yeah, something like that.

Speaker 3 (01:34:46):
If you lead the league in sacks again, if you
win Defensive Player of the Year, if the Bengals win
a playoff game. You know, once you like every ten
sacks or like every seven sacks, you get another million
dollars something, you know, like that.

Speaker 2 (01:35:00):
Real quick recapping what we saw today, not a lot
because we didn't get to see much team action on
the field before they moved into the bubble. But we'll
say this, the first play of eleven on eleven's Austin,
Josh Newton broke up a pass intended for Jamar Chase.
Josh Newton is quietly becoming an interesting piece to this
defense too. Yeah, he's not afraid to talk no, and

(01:35:21):
for the most part, he's backed it up. There's not
much out there of Josh Newton being beaten badly.

Speaker 3 (01:35:26):
Yeah, and you compare that to a year ago where
he was kind of getting picked on a little bit
in training. That's been Dj Turner for me. J Turner's
been being picked on, Yeah, trying to learn NFL speed.
Last year was Josh Newton. And and you know DJ
Turner and another one of those Michigan guys where if
you don't know what's coming, it's kind of hard to
defend it. And he is going up against the best
receiving core in the NFL. But you know, we've seen

(01:35:48):
some plays by Cam Taylor Britt. We've seen some plays
by Josh Newton, seen some plays from dj Ivy, haven't
seen very many plays from dj Turner.

Speaker 2 (01:35:56):
Saw another play from dj Ivy today. Saw this from
James Nice pass breakup on Jermaine Burton in the back
of the end zone on a play today. So, you know,
it's hard because there's a lot of names on this
Bengals defense. How many of these names can emerge and
be consistent contributors for Al Golden. It's fascinating to watch.

(01:36:18):
And it's not a roster full of roster decisions to
be made. I think for the most part, you know
what the fifty three men are close to what the
fifty three manu It's not like years past where there's
been eight to ten position battles or you know, roster
spots that are available that you're really watching. There's not
a lot available for this team, but within the guys

(01:36:40):
that are here, and it's fascinating what they can get
out of them. And it's either it's either gonna vode
really well for Al Golden, Like that's the thing. If
this goes well, kudos to Al Golden. He comes in,
he gets the pat on the back what he did
at Notre Dame. Now he's doing it in the National
Football League, and look at the group he's doing it with.

(01:37:02):
What if it goes poorly for Al Golden again in
this Bengals defense, Right, what's the other side of the coin?

Speaker 4 (01:37:08):
Look like that's more worrisome.

Speaker 2 (01:37:11):
Right If this year the Bengals offense repeats what it
did last year or even improves on what it did
last year, and the results still aren't there to show
for it, do you then just have to completely hit
the reset button because that would mean what Miles Murphy
didn't pan out, right, Joseph Osaide didn't pan out, who

(01:37:32):
knows what Orn Burks or Demetrius Knight or Shamar Stewart
paying out to. You would have to completely question what's
going on in the secondary with Cam Taylor, britt And
and Dox Hill and in the safety position.

Speaker 8 (01:37:44):
It's just.

Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
It's almost feels like they have to put up this
year because the alternate is is devastating, I think because
you can't just pick it up again and say, Okay,
a couple couple extra pieces, we'll fix thing. It's almost
like you'd have to completely revamp the whole thing, and
it's a ton. It's a ton to ask aval Golden

(01:38:08):
without much help outside of what the roster was last year.
You're asking a ton of your first year coordinator and
first time NFL defensive coordinator. That's a lot to put
on anyone's back now early returns. I think the defense
has done some really good things at camp. I think
the secondary has flashed at times. According to Charlie Goldsmith,

(01:38:31):
the defensive line clearly flashed today.

Speaker 4 (01:38:35):
But it's a lot to ask.

Speaker 2 (01:38:37):
And I just keep reverting back to if they can
hold their own throughout camp against this offense, what can
they be against other offenses in the NFL. It's a
good problem to have to go up against Joe Burrow
in this team in practice settings, but you really get
to see what you have on the defensive side of
the ball. Five P one, three, seven, four, nine, fifteen

(01:38:58):
thirty is uh is the Ray Saint Claiir Roofing hotline.
Give us a call way in on everything with the Bengals.
It's an off day tomorrow. I really hope the Eagles
play their starters next week.

Speaker 4 (01:39:09):
Yeah. I looked ahead. I don't know if they were.

Speaker 2 (01:39:11):
I looked back. They did not play starters. In the
first preseason game last year, Kenny Pickett was the quarterback.
Kenny Pickett got hurt yesterday and John Ross was the
leading receiver in that game. Kenny Pickett was having a
great start to training camp for the Browns, was given
Joe Flacco a little run for his money. It's the guy,
well he is now, I think because Kenny Pickett apparently

(01:39:34):
pulled up lame on a hamstring. Oh yeah, yeah, you
know he wants faked pulling up lame and then ran
against wake Forest.

Speaker 7 (01:39:43):
It.

Speaker 4 (01:39:43):
Yeah, people wanted to fight him for that.

Speaker 2 (01:39:45):
People were so mad he did quarterbacks a disservice that day.
We got plenty more to come give us a call
way in well, uh, we'll look a little bit from
a uh, a little bit broader view of the AFC
as a whole. We focused in on the AFC North.
I want to look at some other teams in the
AFC as well going forward. Since E three to sixty

(01:40:06):
on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports.

Speaker 4 (01:40:07):
Station Loegar, there was some booing of the team last night.

Speaker 7 (01:40:11):
When it comes to sports, he's got something to say
for just natural byproducts and plenty of it. Of poor
play Loegar today at three on ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 1 (01:40:23):
It's so Usy is back on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati
Sports Station.

Speaker 2 (01:40:38):
Welcome back, it is since he three sixty ESPN fifteen
thirty Cincinnati Sports Station. Thanks to Cincy Shirts for our
training camp coverage. We're able to be at training camp
as much as possible thanks to our friends at AE
Tour and Window. They sell the best in service. The
rest real quick before we get back to football. Austin
the story earlier about UH Guardians closer Emmanuel Class, Yes,

(01:41:00):
I saw a stat He's thrown twenty two pitches this
season with the bases empty and a zero zero count.
Of those twenty two pitches, eleven were classified as uncompetitive,
like not even getting to the plate on half.

Speaker 4 (01:41:18):
Of these, which is what they nabbed Louis Ortiz for. Yeah.
It goes on to say pitches first pitch ball right.

Speaker 2 (01:41:23):
Goes on to say that he has come into the
game at the beginning of the ninth inning forty times
this year first pitch of the ninth inning that aren't
close to the zone almost eighteen percent of the pitches,
every other pitch four percent, as you mentioned that is
how Luis Ortiz got flagged.

Speaker 4 (01:41:44):
These people you're never gonna get away with it. Not, no, no, no,
you're not.

Speaker 2 (01:41:50):
Especially like how much of the betting market is locked
into Emmanuel classe a first pitch, first pitch ball. Yeah,
like that, that's going to shrink the numbers significantly. And
then when those bets are higher, you're just asking for trouble. Unbelievable.
You might get away with it like once or twice.

Speaker 4 (01:42:09):
Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 8 (01:42:10):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:42:10):
My favorite thing I can't wait for football to get back.
My favorite thing to bet on is players to catch
a pass on a like certain drive. Yeah you know,
I'm not I'm not putting like fifty dollars on this.
I like prop bets, but like watching the Eagles last year,
I'd put like Jahan Dotson to catch a pass this

(01:42:30):
drive and it would like if he had three catches
a game, I'd be good right be in the green yep,
great man, how about that?

Speaker 4 (01:42:41):
Do that for your home dog strategy. Don't take advice reds.

Speaker 2 (01:42:45):
Or home dogs tonight. Who's pitching for the Dodgers that
would be I know the Reds is Chase Burns.

Speaker 4 (01:42:53):
Yeah. And for the Dodgers is.

Speaker 12 (01:42:54):
And he's pitching Starr. Yoshim Is Yoshi Yoshi Yoshi Nobu.

Speaker 4 (01:42:59):
Y'am to.

Speaker 3 (01:43:03):
If he ever finds out that we play that he's
gonna be happy. He never listens to our show, no
I do. Let's let's get into this first. Do you
think Seg could tell people if he was asked what
the name of our show is?

Speaker 4 (01:43:16):
Do you think? No chance? No chance?

Speaker 2 (01:43:20):
And that's a shame because I respect Seg, but there's
no chance he knows that this is since he three sixty.

Speaker 21 (01:43:28):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:43:28):
We have We've done a little bit of a deep
dive throughout training camp on other AFC North opponents, and
I am again I think the Ravens have had the
best AFC North offseason. The Ravens are positioned right now
the favorite in the AFC from a betting standpoint. Outside
of the Ravens, we'll talk about some of these other divisions,
not the AFC North, Austin and Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:43:50):
I basically just.

Speaker 2 (01:43:51):
Want to think who's the favorite and who could be
a dark horse from a a competitive standpoint. Let's start
in the AFC. I think obviously the favorite of the Buffalo.
Have the Bills done anything this offseason that would push
you away. No from believing in the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 8 (01:44:06):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:44:07):
Out of the Dolphins, Patriots, and Jets. Now, I think
Aaron Glenn can do good things with the Jets. I
thought the Patriots had a very very good offseason, but
I don't think they're there yet, And there are rumblings
there are still good pieces in Miami, Tyreek Hill, Jalen Waddell, like,
there are still good pieces there. Out of those three teams,

(01:44:28):
if you have to pick one that's going to push Buffalo,
which one would it be?

Speaker 4 (01:44:31):
New England.

Speaker 3 (01:44:32):
I think the Patriots played the Bill the Bears in
the offseason Super Bowl Championship Game, and you know, I
think the Bears always win. But the Patriots I think
may have had the best offseason altogether. Another year for
Drake May. You know, Josh McDaniel's coming in there and
kind of establishing an offense. I like a couple of
their weapons. Defensively, they got better. They spent their first

(01:44:53):
round pick on Will Campbell to to protect Drake May.
I'm very bullish on the New England Patriots and a
favorable schedule for the most very favorable schedule because of
how bad they were last year. I think that's a
team that could push for one of those wild card
spots in the AFC AFC. They come back here to

(01:45:14):
pay Course Stadium this year, so Bengal's gonna have to
get their lick.

Speaker 4 (01:45:17):
Back AFC South. I don't know why.

Speaker 2 (01:45:22):
I just feel like this is going to be a
year where Trevor Lawrence says, hey, don't forget about me.

Speaker 4 (01:45:27):
I agree.

Speaker 2 (01:45:28):
I Again, I think the Colts, if they're trying to
figure out between Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson right now,
they're in trouble. I think Houston. We talked about off seasons.
I think Houston had one of the worst off seasons
you can yep. They completely took any protection away from CJ. Stroud,
which is opposite of what you want to do. You
have a good young quarterback, you want to protect your asset.

(01:45:50):
Their offensive line stinks. The Tennessee Titans ownership group won't
even tell you that they're ready for a Super Bowl.
To me, it's the Jaguars. Are you in agreement?

Speaker 4 (01:46:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:46:02):
I am.

Speaker 2 (01:46:03):
Actually, those other teams could push him, could push the Jaguars. Oh, Houston,
and yeah, I guess you would say Houston just I
see all those teams as being terrible. Yeah, but Jacksonville
has the best chance to win it. I don't know
that there's another team that's gonna push them. Yeah, I

(01:46:23):
just I guess you could say Houston just because they
have some talent and if CJ. Stroud's fully healthy, then yes,
but they have another receiver gone for the year.

Speaker 4 (01:46:32):
Mix is hurt. They traded away their best offensive lineman.

Speaker 8 (01:46:35):
CJ.

Speaker 3 (01:46:36):
Was going through shoulder injuries and stuff where he wasn't
throwing earlier this offseason.

Speaker 2 (01:46:40):
I just don't know what they're going to be, But
I think Jacksonville is gonna be right. You have Etn
He's still a good back. Brian Thomas had a great
rookie year Beast, and now you had Travis Hunter into
the mix.

Speaker 4 (01:46:54):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:46:54):
Like that to me, I think is a is a
good good start. Josh heines Own is still there, Eric Armstead,
Trayvon Walker is a good young player.

Speaker 4 (01:47:04):
And also keep in mind what Liam Cohen was able
to do with Baker Mayfield and Dampa Bay and kind
of revitalized that offense a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:47:16):
I think he can be really, really beneficial. That's the
game that scares me. The most on the Bengal schedule.
By the way, my hot take at the moment is
that the Bengals lose the home opener again to Jacksonville.

Speaker 4 (01:47:28):
Yeah, and then we start having a conversation.

Speaker 3 (01:47:32):
But you think about I mean the pillars of the
Jacksonville roster, Fred Johnson, former Bengal who we talked about
shut down, Trey Hendrickson, he's on this team. What about
Trent Irwin, former Bengal on the Jacksonville squad winner.

Speaker 2 (01:47:46):
So clearly there's just something to me about Trevor Lawrence
that I think is going to say, hey, we're not
done yet, and I think they're There are people that
have kind of put him on the back burner and
he hasn't backed it up with his play. But fresh start,
new system another weapon at his disposal. I'm a little

(01:48:09):
bullish on the Jaguars as well. AFC West, I know
your stance on Denver. I know you think that you
want to talk about a player that's wowing at training camp.
Ashton Genty sure is getting a lot of love at
training camp. I find it hard to believe that the
Chargers with hardball and year two will take a step
back with justin Herbert, and you still got the Kansas

(01:48:31):
City Chiefs, who not only in the AFC, the AFC West,
things are going to still have to run through Kansas City.
What do you make of handicapping the AFC West. I
got Denver as the favorite.

Speaker 4 (01:48:43):
Really, huh? Everybody else is playing for second?

Speaker 8 (01:48:47):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (01:48:48):
Yeah, and I think it'll be close race for second
honestly between all three of those teams. Was it you
and Moe talking last week at training camp about the
value on Kansas City to miss the playoffs? Yes, I
mean with that division, I'm not saying Geno Smith's gonna
come in and turn the Raiders into a twelve win team,
but they'll be at least competitive. All the points you

(01:49:10):
made about the Chargers obviously Denver I think, and Denver
should have beat Kansas City twice last year, including a
game in Kansas City where the Chiefs blocked the extra
point which won them the game. So yeah, I mean
I'm big on Denver. I think they're gonna win that division.

Speaker 6 (01:49:26):
I just.

Speaker 4 (01:49:28):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:49:29):
It's hard for me. I need to see a little
bit more from Bo Nicks. Sure, and I do think
that Sean Payton is the guy you need anyway to help.

Speaker 3 (01:49:41):
And I do think, you know, second year, a lot
of film out there, how is our defense is going
to adjust to bow knicks? But I think the equalizer
there their defense is just how good Denver's defense is. Ye,
They'll keep them in a lot of games. And they
got the defensive player of the year in Patrick Suretamp.

Speaker 2 (01:50:00):
For what it's worth, Kansas City is a minus one
to ten betting favorite to win the AFC West. The
Broncos and the Chargers. You can get both at plus
three hundred. Yeah, I think that's great value. I mean,
that's a very good value on both the Broncos and
the Chargers. Yeah, it's I think the AFC West is tough,

(01:50:20):
man like. I think the North battle between the Ravens
and Bengals will be fascinating. And I think one of
the more polarizing teams, just based on what they did
in the offseason and how they're constructed, is the Pittsburgh
Steelers and whether they've struggled from a playoffs standpoint in
the years past, but from a division standpoint outside of

(01:50:43):
the Raiders, and I do think that the Raiders can
surprise some people. Outside of that, you could make a
legitimate argument for Kansas City, Denver or the Chargers to
win the West. But it's still so hard to say
to go against the Chiefs because of what they've done
and the consistency they've shown. But Mo pointed it out.
How many one possession games did they win last year? Yep,

(01:51:05):
every one of them. Every close game went their way.
That obviously can't be the case going forward, but man,
it's just if.

Speaker 3 (01:51:14):
And also, can they protect Mahomes better than they did
towards the end of last season? Yeah, and obviously in
the super Bowl it was exposed. And I think they
got a great pick in Josh Simmons at the end
of the round there, the former Buckeye and he's already
turning heads at camp in Kansas City. It ultimately comes
down to can you protect Patrick Mahomes, Because if you can,

(01:51:35):
he'll he'll be able to do the rest and can
he get the most out of those weapons and whatnot?

Speaker 4 (01:51:41):
They'll be in it.

Speaker 3 (01:51:42):
I mean, I'm not saying they're gonna, you know, win
five six games. I just think Denver top to bottom
is a better team. Yeah, I mean, what is it,
seven playoff spots? Yeah, Bills are going to get a
playoff spot. Ravens are going to get a playoff spot.
I think the Jaguiers will get a playoff spot, and
let's just say Denver in the West will get a

(01:52:04):
playoff spot. You've got three playoff spots available for the Bengals,
and the Bengals are a odds on favorite to make
the playoffs, so that would mean there are two spots
left that would be between Kansas City, Los Angeles, Houston, Pittsburgh, Miami,
New England and others. What's seven teams, in your opinion,

(01:52:25):
make up the AFC. Oh God, I'll go Buffalo, Baltimore
in no particular order. I will go Buffalo, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Jacksonville,
Kansas City, Los Angeles, and Denver.

Speaker 4 (01:52:41):
Let's see. And that's not even taken into it to
the thought of a team that could come out of
nowhere and shock you. Yeah, I'm trying to think if
there's anybody else, I would.

Speaker 2 (01:52:53):
Three from the AFC West, one from the south, two
from the north, one from the east. Now Pittsburgh could
have I'm to say with that based on Aaron Rodgers
and company.

Speaker 3 (01:53:02):
Did you say Miami, No, Okay, yeah, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Denver, Jacksonville,
Kansas City, Baltimore, and I'll say the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (01:53:14):
Yeah, that's not really going out on a limb. It's
gonna be fun, but you should go out on a
more limbs. Last time you went on one, you said
the Reds would get swept.

Speaker 4 (01:53:22):
So how that went. Limbs are not a good place
for me to be.

Speaker 2 (01:53:26):
Careful on a limb, careful in front of a TV
as well with your movie prowis, there's nothing wrong with
my movie. Mo eager will join us around two forty five.
I had spent all that time, wasted so much time
watching movies. I wouldn't be here today.

Speaker 4 (01:53:40):
Where would you be? Probably doing something else. We'll be back.
You're pretty happy.

You gotta get the shot up.

Speaker 3 (01:54:30):
Yep, you got an hedge rusher Trey Hendrickson beat some
dude that played for the Raiders around the edge. You're
trying to gotta get the ball out quick. You like
Joe Burrow in the preseason? Man, can I give a
quick shout out, real quick, give a shout out? Shout
out to Eli Apple? Oh, our guy, Eli Apple over
the weekend signed with the San Francisco forty nine ers. Wow,

(01:54:53):
I'm a big Eli Apple guy. He's a lunatic, But
I like what do you like about Eli Apple? He's
just a funny guy. He plays hard, He's always got
something to say. He's a lunatic. Revive Fitness Systems dot
Com poll question, how many games will the Reds win
this week against the Dodgers? Zero they get swept, one,
two or three they sweep LA Right now, forty nine

(01:55:15):
percent say the Reds will win just one of three
against the Dodgers. Thirty five percent say two, eight and
a half percent say they will sweep the Dodgers, and
six point one percent say the Reds will get swept,
which they haven't.

Speaker 4 (01:55:27):
Been swept yet. They haven't been swept all year. Yeah,
write that down, Kate.

Speaker 2 (01:55:32):
Make sure Kate's waking up to Yeah, wake up, Kate, Kate,
make sure you're going well. Yoshiobu ya Yamamoto on the
bump tonight for the Dodgers.

Speaker 4 (01:55:42):
Kate's gonna be saying Yoshinobu Yamamoto for the next eight hours.

Speaker 2 (01:55:45):
How about a two five five ERA, one hundred and
nine and a third innings pitched, a one point zero
five whip and one hundred and twenty four strikeouts, and
yet just an eight and seven record on the year.
Now that's not Paul Sken's level, But the Dodgers haven't
helped Yoshi Noble Yamamoto out a ton Hopefully that continues tonight.

(01:56:06):
Will this be the bad outing that Yoshi Noble? You
just do it to play it again, don't you one
more time?

Speaker 6 (01:56:14):
Hi?

Speaker 12 (01:56:15):

big mad. What are they mad about? I have not
I have not seen it yet, Probably happening late tonight.

Speaker 4 (01:56:53):
Storyline is no good the first the first.

Speaker 11 (01:56:55):
One they love, the first one where the storyline was
this guy's grand law gets evicted and he ends up
wearing a hockey jersey on the PGA tour and becoming PGH.

Speaker 4 (01:57:04):
That storyline was great.

Speaker 11 (01:57:05):
That's the one that got That was along the line
with like the Godfather, right, ye, great storyline there oscars
supremacy of the first movie is dude who's a hockey
player and a bad one ends up nailing Julie Bowen
Virginia Vennett because he becomes a great golfer with a
hockey swing.

Speaker 4 (01:57:23):
You thought that storyline was great, but you have a
problem with this one. Why they ran it back for
number two? Okay, it's incredible.

Speaker 11 (01:57:29):
Midly, I haven't seen it yet it's like tonight about
ten thirty after the Reds beat the Dodgers.

Speaker 4 (01:57:34):
Who happy Gilmore too? Who's watching it? Happy Gilmore for
the storyline? For the love of god, you know, I
haven't seen it. Who's watching?

Speaker 11 (01:57:43):
The first movie could not have had any more silly storyline.
It's an Adam Sandler movie. The point is there? So
can anything just be silly anymore?

Speaker 10 (01:57:51):
Is there?

Speaker 4 (01:57:52):
We lost our minds.

Speaker 11 (01:57:53):
We're too busy beating the hell out of each other
downtown to enjoy just a silly golf movie. Hell, I'm
done if that's where we are when we're getting mad
and I like, did this?

Speaker 4 (01:58:05):
Don't he telling?

Speaker 8 (01:58:05):
He tell you what?

Speaker 4 (01:58:06):
The plot left a lot to be desired? Yeah?

Speaker 11 (01:58:08):
Yeah, how about the first movie when he went outside
with the two movers and hit the golf ball eight
hundred feet?

Speaker 4 (01:58:13):
Thought that was plausible? What are we doing?

Speaker 2 (01:58:16):
Is there anything better than being a friend of Adam Sandler? No,
you just every movie you want to be in, get
to be in his film. He's gonna put up. Yeah,
but he's not known for us.

Speaker 4 (01:58:23):
That's a real thing. Yes, people are really mad. Is
there outrage? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:58:27):
There is?

Speaker 11 (01:58:28):
Okay, it's like my mom used to say. When I
used to say like, oh, so and so is gonna
go do this, She's like okay. I would say like, oh,
my friends are gonna do do something she didn't want
me to do. She would go, which friends? Yeah, who
are the people being outraged?

Speaker 3 (01:58:44):
The big tweet I saw actually came from Jordan Schultz, Yeah,
who said it was the worst movie he's ever seen.
And the tweet blew up to the point where he's
like giving out Netflix subscriptions to people.

Speaker 4 (01:58:55):
Now, what didn't he like about the film? I don't know.

Speaker 11 (01:58:58):
He said it was the worst, that it was unwatchable. Okay, listen,
It's probably not going to be the best movie I've
ever seen. Neither was the first?

Speaker 4 (01:59:04):
Will you laugh? Yes? Yes? Is it senseless at times? Yes?
Julie Bowen's in it. Yes, I'm in.

Speaker 21 (01:59:11):
Are you?

Speaker 11 (01:59:12):
Uh?

Speaker 8 (01:59:13):
What do you go?

Speaker 11 (01:59:13):
You have Kathy Island coming on the show today and
our guy doesn't know who Kathy Island is. That is
staggering to me. Kathy Ireland when she appeared in Necessary Roughness,
that's a big deal. It's like, wait a minute, you're
talking about a bad movie.

Speaker 8 (01:59:26):
Now.

Speaker 4 (01:59:26):
Did did Jordan Schultz like that one did it.

Speaker 11 (01:59:31):
Scott Scott back is going to go back to college
at the age of forty five. Thought that was a
brilliant storyline.

Speaker 3 (01:59:36):
Yep, a picture here. I just googled Kathy Ireland. Are
we doing her in a swim suit playing in a
softball game? And that was good to see.

Speaker 2 (01:59:48):
People are really mad about Happy Guests, really mad, like legitimately,
like I seem more outraged than good. Okay, now there's hey.
I was a little bit disappointed by it. That's the
worst movie ever. This is terrible.

Speaker 4 (02:00:01):
This lady looks kind of familiar.

Speaker 2 (02:00:02):
It's just what are we doing Happy Gilmore Too? What
were you expecting? You're expecting bad storyline? What is like
the example of like high minded cinema that wins an
Oscar nowadays? Will give me a good example high minded cinema.

Speaker 11 (02:00:18):
Yeah, the films you see that are always like nominated
for Best Picture of that sort of thing.

Speaker 4 (02:00:24):
Give me one of the Oppenheimer Oppenheimer.

Speaker 11 (02:00:26):
Okay, you would you think Happy Gilmore two was going
to be on the lines of Oppenheimer.

Speaker 4 (02:00:32):
I haven't seen either. I promise you I'd rather watch
Happy Gilmore Too. Correct.

Speaker 11 (02:00:36):
You know, some of us just want to sit down.
The world is falling apart as we know it. Okay,
it is that we are. The society is just breaking
down by the minute. Some of us want to turn
on Netflix for an hour and forty minutes and just chuckle,
yeah right, and get away and I'm sorry that's not good.

Speaker 4 (02:00:52):
And who who's mad? Who didn't like it? Sul who.

Speaker 3 (02:00:58):
Thought Ian Rappaport at Starbucks? Or yes, his dad owns Starbucks? Yeah,
created Starbucks.

Speaker 4 (02:01:03):
The King's speech the locker. Do you know what movie
won Best Picture last year? No idea, It's called Anora?
Have no idea?

Speaker 2 (02:01:09):
What the year before? Or Happy Gilmore too? I don't
know what Anora is. Honora is a stripper from Brooklyn.

Speaker 12 (02:01:18):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:01:19):
Have you seen the Shape of No I'm looking at
the IMDb page. You ever seen the Shape of Water?

Speaker 8 (02:01:25):
No?

Speaker 3 (02:01:25):
Moonlight doesn't have a show Spotlight. Spotlight's one of the
best movies ever made. Okay, Twelve Years of Slave the
King's speech, did see okay, slum Dog Millionaire, saw that one?
Locker hurt, Locker's pretty good, No Country for Old Men
very good. None of these comparable to Happy Gilmore Austin
one because he hadn't seen the first one, So yeah,

(02:01:45):
how did.

Speaker 4 (02:01:46):
You not stumble upon the first one?

Speaker 3 (02:01:47):
I mean, I've seen the clips like the fight scene
and Bob Barker and all that. I've seen all that, like,
never watched that movie start to finish. I honestly did
not know about the whole Grandmall thing till you said
at thirty seconds ago.

Speaker 4 (02:01:58):
Really, yeah, happy Gilmour in the theater.

Speaker 11 (02:02:01):
When's the last movie you saw in the theater that
didn't That wasn't a kid's movie everything.

Speaker 4 (02:02:06):
I just saw one like a month or two ago.

Speaker 6 (02:02:08):
It was.

Speaker 4 (02:02:09):
It wasn't that good. So I saw Leelo and Stitch.
That's what we went and saw. And then I saw
prior to that, uh some other Mahana two. We're on
the same trajectory.

Speaker 11 (02:02:19):
Prior to that. I saw Frozen two. Prior to that,
I saw Creed two. I saw that on my own
and deston on a UC trip prior to that.

Speaker 4 (02:02:29):
It had to be a terrible trip. If you're like,
I'm just gonna hit the movies.

Speaker 8 (02:02:32):
It was.

Speaker 11 (02:02:32):
It was Destin. Ye remember Destin. You weren't there. It
was in the movies. I had to take refuge at
the movie theater. That was Creed two. Prior to that,
the movie I most recently seen in the theater Creed
one Friendship.

Speaker 4 (02:02:47):
That's the movie I saw Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd.
Yeah sucked. What are you going on your show today?

Speaker 8 (02:02:51):
Mom?

Speaker 4 (02:02:52):
I don't know, man, I just I'm just I'm so
baffled by this.

Speaker 2 (02:03:00):
Well, you know, lined up, everyone lined up, like when
all the goofy celebrities are people that have never acted
in a movie, or tweeting out hey watch happy Gilmore too.
No one thought like this is probably going to be
the first one had a third storyline, yes, right, like
when this one is absurd.

Speaker 4 (02:03:18):
There was a homeless guy caddying for him. The guy's
hitting five hundred feet, the guy's got a nail in
his head.

Speaker 11 (02:03:24):
Again, I will watch the I will watch the second
one tonight, Yeah, about ten thirty eleven o'clock and I'll
do a review.

Speaker 4 (02:03:31):
You should do a Twitter space is afterwards. No, I
don't know how to do that. I don't want to you.
I mention the how you're going to.

Speaker 11 (02:03:37):
Be on Twitter spaces for the look in the radio show. Enough,
I had six hours of radio this week.

Speaker 2 (02:03:43):
You know how the hot eating today, mo, I know
the high You're going to be on Twitter when Saint
Burns goes seven tonight and they shut out the dogs.

Speaker 4 (02:03:52):
And then I watch Happy You watch Happy too? How
many minutes into the film does Julie Bowen show up
right away?

Speaker 11 (02:03:57):
Right away? She's right there. She's still with at him
saying his character. She's still with Happy Gilmore.

Speaker 4 (02:04:02):
She's not around for the whole movie. Though, not around
for the whole movie. Oh he kicks her of the
curb of Groulers more. If she dies in the film,
I'm gonna be very upset. What's on the show today?

Speaker 11 (02:04:15):
Schamar Stewart signed his contract, so we can stop complaining
about that. Trey Hendrickson hasn't signed his contract, so we
can keep complaining about that. And the Reds have done
exactly what we said they had to do about six
weeks ago.

Speaker 3 (02:04:28):
What about Bryce Harper getting in a rob We're gonna
discuss this fig number one.

Speaker 11 (02:04:33):
Whose side you got? You got Harp, you got Manny,
you got Rob Manford or he got Harper? Because you
know Harper's deal is dude, we don't want a salary cap,
but fans want that, but they hate Rob Manford like me, So,
what do you got here?

Speaker 2 (02:04:47):
What about Emanuel Classe? You don't think people are gonna
realize he's in Happy Gilmore Too. I did not know
that he's in Happy Gilmore Too. He's gonna why you're
ask me about him.

Speaker 4 (02:05:00):
He's gonna need that career when he gets busted for gambling.

Speaker 11 (02:05:03):
He's playing hockey in a Boston Bruins jersey, and you
turn on the sequel expecting it to be.

Speaker 4 (02:05:07):
Oppenheimer, Charlie Goldsmith said to.

Speaker 11 (02:05:12):
Escape from Soybe Boru starring Adam Sandler's what you're expecting?

Speaker 4 (02:05:16):
We don't love of God.

Speaker 2 (02:05:18):
We didn't get to see inside today, but Charlie Goldsmith
tweeted that the defensive line was the story of the
camp today, that they dominated.

Speaker 4 (02:05:24):
Because Shamar Stewart's here. Should that be a disruptor? Should
that be a good thing?

Speaker 2 (02:05:28):
Or are we gonna have to start diving again into
the offensive line today? I'll say it's a good thing.

Speaker 11 (02:05:33):
Okay, tomorrow if it happens, If it doesn't go back,
well tomorrow, still practice.

Speaker 2 (02:05:37):
We'll still We've still got water wall coverage. We still
have to go down there and do a shop. You
should he only did half of one today. Another hand
wasn't my fault. Yeah, we were there until we were told.

Speaker 4 (02:05:49):
It's gonna have lightning. Most to go. You guys have
ruined my day. Can we just have anything that we
all agree is kind of okay? Go eat a sandwich
before the show. You're a little angry right now. Happy
Gilmour too will be fine. Watch it tonight. I'm not
doing Twitter space.

Speaker 2 (02:06:09):
It's our continued Bengals training camp coverage thanks to AE
Door and Windows.

Speaker 11 (02:06:13):
Thanks to Cincinnati weirdos on Twitter coming into my space.
That sounds fun.

Speaker 2 (02:06:18):
