Feeling good.

Speaker 4 (00:11):
It's Skyline time.

This is ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 5 (00:18):
All right, welcome in. It is since he three sixty
and thanks to our friends here our number one. It's
Skyline Chili. But it's also still training camp coverage. Wow
at paid Course Stadium here thanks to our friends at
ae dorm window they sell the best in service. The
rest also Cincinnati Tax Resolution, Oakley Greens and uh here

(00:39):
at the Airport paint Body broadcast area on the Race
Saint Claire roofing Hotline. This is a different way of
passing the torch. You know, Tony and Mo Football Show
just went from ten to noon and now sincey three
to sixty, and then the Mowager Show will be back
from three to six. But you're gonna hang around for
a little.

Speaker 6 (00:55):
I'm gonna I'm gonna stay.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
I love being just soaking this in. This is awesome.
It's it's beautiful outside. I say every day, like when
the weather gets nice, like God, I wish I could
do the show outside, and so I'm gonna milk this
for a little bit.

Speaker 5 (01:07):
This is awesome. What we just witnessed is awesome because
not just players, but pivotal players for this team have
been signing autographs for the last fifteen twenty minutes. Right here,
players are now the horn just blew. Once the horn blows, mo,
then you got to move on to the next portion,
which I'm guessing for these guys is getting them fed,

(01:29):
getting them into some meetings. But as we sit here
and just kind of recap day one, any big takeaway.

Speaker 6 (01:36):
For you, Well, Number one, I never saw the cart.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Yeah, they've got through the first day of practice, you know,
And that sounds obvious, It sounds silly like it's the
number one storyline in any training camp. If it's not
a holdout, it's an injury. Didn't see any of that today.
I'll give you one from what we just watched. Evan
McPherson banged home all his kicks. Yeah, might sound like
not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
That might I tell you much about the season that

(02:01):
he's gonna have.

Speaker 6 (02:02):
I think that's a big storyline this year.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
But it all comes back to what we talked about
at ten o'clock when we started, Joe Burrow is going
through training camp and we're not talking about him coming
off surgery, Appendectomy's not dealing with a calf issue, didn't
have a knee problem like this is.

Speaker 6 (02:20):
You know, you have to go back to his rookie season.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Really to find the last time that we weren't talking
about him coming off of something or dealing with something.
And even that year it was COVID. So it's a
weird training camp. This We've done it for years like
a normal off season, normal training camp. And and you
mentioned this before today he was throwing passes to Jamar Chase,
which he wasn't doing a year.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
Ago, and we didn't analyze the spiral or the velocity
on the ball right like we had to do last year.
We are analyzing right here in front of us these
year size of Marius Mims.

Speaker 6 (02:48):
He's talking to two little kids who are in awe.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
It's unbelievable how big Marius Mems is. But uh, it's
a it's a it's a good day to to kind
of just get your feet wet. That's I think that's
what the first two days are. That's what I equate
them to former Bearcat great and now Bengal quarterback Desertter
is still out here on the field long after the
horn is blown, of course, to get some extra work in.

(03:12):
You don't you don't question that from a from a
former Bearcat, but it is I think today is more
about what's here because what has dominated our conversations in
the offseason Trey Hendrickson, Shamar Stewart When when today happens?
And I know this is what the coaches do. The
front office can worry about what's going on there. You

(03:33):
now start focusing on what's here, and what's here for
if you're a gambling person, what's here is a team
that has the tenth best odds to win the Super Bowl.
It's a team that has the fourth best odds to
win the AFC, A team that is a betting favorite
to make the playoffs. This isn't a this isn't a

(03:55):
patchwork team that you're thinking, can they get to eight
or nine? No, it's can they compete for a home
field advantage? Can they compete in the AFC? And can
they go to the Super Bowl?

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Well, and also, like we talked about, you know the
Bengals recent draft history and Shamar Stewart. Let's talk about
last year's class in this year's class. A Marius Mims
I think we're really bullish on him this year. The
rest of that class, Jermaine Burton. You know, what's the
impact of Chris Jenkins and McKinley Jackson this season?

Speaker 6 (04:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (04:23):
You know, can can some of those players year two
man in the NFL the way it's structured now, like
you got to start to make an impact? So can
the twenty twenty four draft class as a whole start
to do some positive things? And then they only had
six picks. The Bengals with what they did in free agency,
emphasize the draft for this year. Okay, No Shamar Stewart.

(04:44):
Demetrius Knight, though, is running with the ones. Dylan Fairchild
I think would be the betting favorite to be one
of the starters at guard.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
We've talked about the impact of Toaj.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Brooks this year and what he's going to do in
the backfield and give them a short yardage threat that
they didn't have last season. They have to start getting production,
almost instant production from draft classes. And if you're not
gonna get it this season from Shamar Stewart, then you
got to start getting it from some of those other guys.
And so to me, like it's all about what's on

(05:14):
the field right now. Schamar's not here. A lot of
guys who are, and there are a lot of guys
that I want to know more about, including some players
who have been drafted very recently.

Speaker 5 (05:22):
And if you don't have the draft picks to talk about,
what else you're talking about? The new coaches? Yeah, right,
there's a lot being put on the plate of Al Golden.
There's another coach, coach. It was just standing here. I
thought when he was walking around, like, is that a
player that's not practice? That's the new offensive line coach
Scott Peters. Looks like he could still go out there

(05:43):
and play, and physically from a sweat standpoint, looks like
he just went through a practice. But look, he's being
tasked with a lot too figure out this guard position
because they didn't invest from a free agency standpoint, they
didn't invest with any of their first couple of picks
in guard. Can you continue the oppression the progression of
Amarius mems Can Dylan Fairschaw be a guy that's starting

(06:05):
What are you gonna do? With the other guard spot.
We've spent hours and hours and hours in the last
couple of years of training camp reports discussing what the
offensive line play, how can he shape and impact the
offensive line? How can Al Golden without Trey Hendricks and
Chamar Stewart here leave his imprint on how he wants

(06:26):
this defense to be. Every defensive coach has that, right,
we're gonna be downhill, We're gonna be a pressure, We're
gonna be fast, we're gonna be physical. Well, how can
you leave your mark and what can you get out
of players that didn't get the most out of themselves
last year?

Speaker 1 (06:41):
I think with Al Golden, you know, we talk a
lot about the players that he has and in the
case of Schamar and Trey, who he doesn't have. What
does the Al Golden defense at its best become known
for so lou An Arumo, you know, as much as
dagged on him at the end of last year, as
much as it really did feel like it was time
to move on. When I think of his best units,

(07:04):
I think of just really fundamentally sound guys weren't at
a position the tackle was always made right like you.
You don't think of boy, they blitzed a ton you
don't think of like a certain coverage you think of.
They had defenses that just seemed really well coached, fundamentally sound.
There weren't coverage breakdowns, there weren't communication breakdowns. And so

(07:26):
to me, the lu Anarroumo defense, now it helps when
he has Jesse Bates and a closer to his in
his prime, Von Bell, Mike Hilton, he gets Trey Hendrickson,
lots of really good players. But when I think of
Lou's best defenses, to me and you and I would
talk about this on Mondays, you would go like, it
just looks like a really well put together unit. Sometimes
the other guy on offense makes a play right, Sometimes

(07:47):
the other quarterback makes a throw that happens, but it's
not assignment errs mistackles guys in the wrong spot, communication issues.

Speaker 6 (07:54):
That sort of thing.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Last year and to a large degree the year before,
at times known for miss tackles, felt like guys were
often at a position miss de Signmon's communic I want
to know, by the end of the season, if Al
Golden's defense ends up being significantly better, what is it
known for?

Speaker 6 (08:13):
What's the identity of it?

Speaker 5 (08:15):
I also think the competitive edge that your defensive coordinator gives.
You say what you want about what happened for leu
an Arumo at the end, he was known for the
thorn in the side of Patrick Mahomes. Right, this team,
all paths are going to continue as long as Mahomes
is there. You talk about Kansas City, you talk about Buffalo,

(08:35):
you talk about Baltimore. Now they struggled against Baltimore defensively,
but you feel good about where this team is against Buffalo.
It just feels like a good matchup for the Bengals. Yeah, Baltimore,
you know you can score with him, but there was
always that that point against Kansas City where it felt
like lou Ana Arumo gave you an edge against Patrick Mahomes,
which rarely anyone does. Can now Golden find his niche there? Yeah,

(09:00):
that to me, because again, he wasn't he wasn't given
Let's say the additions that Baltimore was given this year
right on defense, Right, Baltimore was bad defensively, and then
they said, well, here's male Chai Starks, here's Jay r Alexander,
here's Mike Green. You still got Kyle Hamilton and Marlon Humphrey.
Do something more with these guys. So that's what I

(09:22):
think is fascinating is you don't get that if you're
out golden, it's hey, come in and make this work
with a large contingent of what was here last year.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
And you know, we talked about like the ceiling for
the defense. We're not going to get this answer to
excuse me during training camp, but you know, God, they
only have to be okay, they only have to be
league average, And there's something about that until the fourth quarter, right,
I think of how many times last year the Washington game, right,
the Bengals offense was unbelievably good and in the fourth quarter,

(09:50):
it's like, God, can you get one stop against Jade
Daniels and if you do, you win? Or hey, get
off the field once in the fourth quarter against the
Baltimore Ravens. In either of those games, stop in overtime.
Hey Burrow just threw a pick. It could swing the
game unless the offense gets a stop. Baltimore. Here, the
Chargers game on the road. You know what if if
you get a stop on the road against Justin Herbert,

(10:11):
you're gonna win the game. The Pittsburgh game here, Hey,
Justin Fields is on the field. Right, it's it's third
and two. Everybody in the stadium knows what they're gonna do.
Can this defense get a stop? The answer was no.
It wasn't just what they did and didn't do statistically.
It wasn't just where they ranked in terms of yardage
given up and points given up. It's when the game
was hanging in the balance. Louennarumo's defense last year failed

(10:33):
more often than not. Does Al Golden's defense. Let's let's
make it about the Lions game. Which is what week five?
It's they're gonna score. Okay, it's thirty, it's thirty one
to twenty seven. Golf has the ball first and ten
from their own thirty five one time out? Is your
team getting a stop? Is your unit getting a stop?
We're not gonna get that answer in July or August.

(10:56):
We better start to get it in July in September.
And that's that, to me, is what I want to
know most about an Al Golden defense. What is its
identity and when the game is hanging in the balance.
Even if you have been shredded all day long, even
if the other quarterback is thrown four touchdowns, he's burned
you all day long. Can you get a stop when
the game is on the line and give Joe Burrow

(11:18):
the victory that he has earned? That the defense last
year deprived him of so many times?

Speaker 5 (11:23):
It to me, and there were there were moments last year,
even Week one, where you knew what New England was
gonna do. Yeah, and they had no answer for it. Sure, Like,
if there's one saving grace you mentioned the Lions game,
could you ask for a better opponent week one to
go against as a new d coordinator? Oh man, than
this Cleveland offense? Right, Like, they're just they don't they

(11:46):
have four quarterbacks that that might play. They don't have
a ton of build in weapons Offensively, it's still a
dangerous defense. But if you're a coordinator in the NFL,
could you think of anything better than Week one? You go,
you go against Cleveland offense. That should give you an
upper hand, that should give you the ability to to

(12:07):
give yourself a legout because nothing's gonna beat game reps
and a new defensive coordinator. We talk all the time
about why does Joe Burrow want to play more in
the preseason? Are the same way that Al Goldon wants
to coach in the preseason, How are these calls coming together?
What personnel groups work best with the calls that I'm
trying to make? And again, how can I get more

(12:27):
out of the players we currently have on the roster?

Speaker 1 (12:30):
And how does not having Trey Hendrickson and Shamar Stewart
Like I asked you earlier, forget the standoff part of
Shamar Stewart, how much time can he miss before the
season's a wash?

Speaker 5 (12:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Well, the night they drafted him, they took him with
the idea, this guy could help us this year, like
their offseason plan was, you know, even before it became
Shamar Stewart in the first round. We want a player,
likely on defense, who can make an instant impact. If
Shamar Stewart misses all or most of training camp and

(13:07):
even if he still comes to terms and as a
part of the team, do you cross that off the list?
And then what does that do for your defense's overall
ability to get better?

Speaker 5 (13:17):
And one thing that we've yet to talk about today,
Sam Hubbard, Mike Hilton, Von Bell, Trey Hendrickson, Jermaine Pratt,
a Keen Davis Gaither aren't here. There are also a
lot of guys that made up your captains on defense
last year outside of Logan Wilson. So you're if you're
Louis in a rumo, you don't get to lean on
Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson right now?

Speaker 6 (13:39):
Well, because it not with the Colts.

Speaker 5 (13:40):
Yeah, or I'm sorry, if you're out Golden, you don't
get to but you don't get to lean on your
captains from last year. Logan person is still here. But yeah,
Pratt was a captain, Hubbard was a captain, von Bell
was a captain. So I look at that setting and
now you say, one, who are the leaders on defense
outside of Logan Wilson. I think is certainly one of them.

(14:03):
Because there's also the odd thing with Trey Hendrickson is
as good as he's been, he's never been a captain
on this team. So who are the captains of this
defense who can Al Golden kind of rely on to be?
We always talked about the microphone and the voice on
the field, right, you knew it. Whatever you wanted to
say about Jermaine Pratt was that, Sam Hubber was that.

Speaker 6 (14:22):
I think it's supposed to be Logan Wilson.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Sure, you know we've heard Al Golden wants to emphasize linebacker.
He's coached Logan Wilson before. Like I think if Al
Golden were here with us, he would say, well, the
answer is going to be Logan Wilson. Yeah, but does
it become Logan Wilson? And what if it's not?

Speaker 6 (14:37):
What if it's not? Because Logan Wilson is hurt?

Speaker 1 (14:40):
And also are we Is this the year that we
stopped talking about a guy who last played here in
twenty twenty two in Jesse Bates? Because what did you
hear last year? They just simply haven't figured out a
way to replace Jesse Bates. Okay, well two whole years
have coming gone.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
Have they figured out how to replace Jesse Bates?

Speaker 6 (14:55):
And you know, like.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
At the end of the season, you and I said
it twin peaks for our last show, and I talked
extensively about how, like, dude, you got to move on
from Geno's stone, but they didn't.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
And I want to.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
See if their faith is rewarded and what they have done,
and I know we talked about it earlier here. What
they have done and not done in relation to the
secondary is really interesting. How many teams have a bad
secondary and then don't draft a corner back. Don't draft
a safety, don't sign a corner, don't sign a safety
Like that's that's it's pretty remarkable when you put it

(15:30):
that way.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
Does especially when you change coordinators and you said go
fix that.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Right, Like, does what they are doing at those position
groups pay off with I think we would admit a
lot of guys who have upside.

Speaker 5 (15:43):
Andre Yoshobac is finally leaving the field. He's been signing
for this whole segment and more. Yeah, uh, you like
to see a lot of that. We'll get our first
break in. Moo's gonna hang around here for the first hour.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Peyton Thorns still throwing. He's you could tell, like Dez
is in his head.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
Yep, he might be out here till three or he's he's.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
The BDZ is in Peyton Thorn's head. He's like, man,
I gotta I gotta be out.

Speaker 5 (16:06):
Here more more. Peyton Thorn updates as we go as well.
We've got the second half of Zach Taylor. We're gonna
play Joe Burrow Is is gonna speak. We're gonna air
that uh during this uh this show as well. Thanks
of course to our our friends at Skyline Chili. Also
Thank you to our friends at AE Door and Window
for helping make this possible. Uh, they sell the best,
they service the rest. We are live here at pay

(16:27):
Corp Stadium. I'm here till three. You're gonna take the helicopter.
Are you driving a helicopter today?

Speaker 6 (16:34):
I don't know that we need the helicopter today.

Speaker 5 (16:36):
I don't got more time.

Speaker 6 (16:37):
I can get up there in two hours and be
on the air three o'clock.

Speaker 5 (16:41):
Our coverage doesn't stop here. Coverage is gonna run through soon.

Speaker 6 (16:43):
I was here till six, man like I'd love being outside.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
This is nice. This is nice. Stick with us. Plenty
more still to come. ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 6 (16:51):
Now you're chiding, Hey, welcome back.

Speaker 5 (16:59):
Fifteen any Cincinnati sports station. Thanks to guy like Jilly,
Thanks as well for what we're able to do here
during training camp a special edition you had just heard
of the Tony and Mo Football show. Most still with me.
He's still gonna do his show from three to six.
But essentially I think there's ten different dates of training camp. Yes,
we're from ten to six pm. We're just gonna be
wall to wall training camp coverage.

Speaker 6 (17:20):
It's awesome.

Speaker 5 (17:21):
Thanks to eighty door and window thanks to Cincinnati Tax Resolution,
thanks to Oakley Greens. We're here at the Airport Payton
Body Broadcast area on the Race Saint Clair Roofing Hotline.
It could not be more appreciative of the Bengals and
everyone that made this happen for us to beat down here.
The setup is phenomenal, very fan accommodating. If you're thinking

(17:41):
about coming down here for some of the open practices,
I think Bengals dot com has all the camp dates
and which days are open to the public, so check
in on that and follow along. Is there a player?
And it's hard because first day you're covering so many angles?
Is there a player we haven't talked enough about of
this offseason for the Cincinnati Bengals, Because you made the

(18:02):
point and we talked about this on our hit this morning.
Miles Murphy is obviously one of those players. Yes, And
it's not that we haven't discussed him. There's just been
the Shamar Stewart and Trey Hendrickson situation in the offseason.
Now that the season and the guys are here, you
talk about the guys that are here. That's Miles Murphy.
What about the guy on the other side of him
and Joseph Osai. Yeah, I mean, how much If this

(18:24):
is a proven year for Miles Murphy, what year is
this for Joseph O's high And you.

Speaker 6 (18:32):
Know, it's interesting.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
I think when they brought him back it raised at
least some people's eyebrows. It made sense, I think to
most of us. But sure, man, like we've been talking
about we've talked more about josepho SI's potential than we
have his.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
Production foret Tom Brady in that preseason, that's.

Speaker 6 (18:47):
Right, and we saw some of the production last year.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
So to me, like we haven't talked as much about
the new additions from other teams on defense, Yeah, like TJ. Slayton,
I think can really helped this team. They were bad
against the run last year. Green Bay had a good
run defense, even though they couldn't stop the push push.
The Bengals prioritized him in an off season where they
didn't really prioritize free agency. They prioritized him and Orn Burks,

(19:12):
guys who came from winning teams. So what is the
impact of those players. I also feel like, you know,
we started talking about Demetrius Knight late in the off
season because of the second rounders holding out for guaranteed money.
Demitrius Night's twenty five years old and a project. He's
a guy like I mean, you know, Al Golden has
slid him in there with the ones they're emphasizing linebacker.

(19:33):
It feels like it's gonna be Logan Wilson and Demetrious Night,
and so yeah, the Schamar Stewart conversation has kind of
taken on a life of its own. But I really
I really look at and focus on him, and then
I think from from an offensive perspective, as weird as
this is gonna sound.

Speaker 6 (19:49):
It's t Higgins. The health, the health.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Like the Bengals a year ago did not have him
in their future plans. One of the reasons was guy
can't stay healthy. Happened last year, miss five games. So
we talk all the time about if you can get
Joe for seventeen, how good can this team be?

Speaker 5 (20:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (20:08):
Can I?

Speaker 1 (20:09):
And it's you're asking a lot understanding how the sport works.
Can I get seventeen of Joe, Jamar and T.

Speaker 5 (20:15):
Pool And if so, dude, one of the numbers that
were already unbelievable last year.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
So like there was a reason why the Bengals didn't
have Tea in their plans. There's also reasons why Joe
Burrows said, like, we got to have him and the
Bengals decided to pay another wide receiver. Yeah, so do
we see more of the things the Bengals kind of
thought they wouldn't see? And along with that, does he
start to validate a decision to sign him that was

(20:43):
panned by some. To me, on offense, he's the guy
that I'm paying attention to as the season unfolds the most.

Speaker 5 (20:49):
I think as well. You mentioned the additions or in
Burke's by all accounts, was one of the highest graded
defenders in the postseason last year.

Speaker 6 (20:55):
In the NFC Title Game, he was awesome.

Speaker 5 (20:57):
He was awesome. Yeah, and again, what does that look
like over a seventeen game season. He's going to be
given that opportunity to show that. But I feel like
that was one of the more under the radar signings
of a team. You're like, oh, Okay, well you played
a little bit last year, but if you look at
the actual meaningful snaps he took, he had an impact
for Philadelphia. Yeah, and it's a position of need and

(21:21):
if you're looking at okay, what's al Goldenmessa. He was
a linebacker coach here, so he plays a position of
value that the defensive coordinator prioritized. You have him with
Logan Wilson, a rookie in that room as well. I
think Oron Burks is fascinating for what this defense can be.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
I mean again, they didn't attack free agency the way
a lot of us either expected him to or hoped
they would, so in this window that they used to
acquire players from the outside, I think you have to
pay close attention to the ones that they did prioritize,
like TJ.

Speaker 6 (21:59):
Slaton has won.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
I also feel like, look, they've got to get better
in the trenches, they've got to get better on the
defensive line. I think there's lots of reasons to like
Chris Jenkins, but do those reasons become things we actually see.
I think there's reasons to like McKinley Jackson. Do those
reasons become things we actually see from him?

Speaker 5 (22:17):
Like, yeah, the Year two jump for a lot of players.
Not everyone's gonna hit, but if you can get some
of that Year two guys to hit, and you mix
them in with what they have and ideally what you're
bringing in with Al Golden because that they had to
feel good enough about Al Golden that they didn't have
to go make those incredible additions that I think a
lot of people thought maybe they would go make.

Speaker 6 (22:36):
And also like, he's not here now.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
But if you are like me and you assume that
Trey Hendrickson will still play for the Bengals this season, right,
you know, one of the answers is Trey Hendrickson. So
why have the Bengals balked They think age he's gonna
slow down a little bit. Does he on the field
this year prove dude, I'm not slowing down. And when

(22:59):
he does that, is he then gonna be a free agent?
Does he then walk into another contract, you know, another
year that he's under contract with the Bengals. What's one
of the other reasons why they've balked Guys not great
against the run? Like you can compare him and TJ.
Watt getting after the passer. Yeah, they're the same. When
you look at TJ. Watt against the run, TJ. Watt,

(23:20):
Trey Hendrickson's one dimensional.

Speaker 6 (23:22):
So when he.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
Gets on the field this year, does he dispel some narratives?
Does he go to show Hey, this is why I
wanted the money that I was holding out for. Like,
so we talk so much about what they're gonna pay
him and what the deal is gonna look like when
he plays this year.

Speaker 6 (23:39):
What does that say?

Speaker 5 (23:39):
It's so much about why I want him here because
we talk about all those other guys in the sense
that Micah Parsons, Miles Garrett, TJ Watt, what do they
line up everywhere? They literally line up right side, left side,
They line up on the interior part of the line.
They they sometimes stand up in the a gap Like
can Trey Hendrickson be that? And he just was and

(24:00):
asked to be that under lu Anarumo?

Speaker 6 (24:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (24:02):
Or is he a guy that says no, I just
line up on this side. That's what I do. That's
why I want to see what al Golden does with him,
because it's a value that Miles Garrett and TJ. Watt
and Micah Parsons all bring to the table of the ability.
Like do you not think in week one against the Browns,
Miles Garrett, if he's starting, we'll line up a lot
over Dylan Fairchild. Yeah, that's just what he's going to do.

(24:24):
So you know, that's why I want to see what
the pairing of Hendrickson and al Golden can be. Let's
get a break, Let's come back during the Tony and
MO Football Show. Thanks to our friends oft Adorn Window,
we got the first half of the Zach Taylor pre
practice press conference, and when we come back, we'll air
the second half of that, and then as we get

(24:44):
into our two, we've got Joe Burrow audio that we'll
get to as well. Since he three to sixty thanks
to Skyline Chile on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
Station, the superior game means.

Speaker 7 (24:55):
Our ESPN fifteen thirty Orange and Black hotline is built
by Racing Claire Roofing your Homes Trusted Problem Solver.

Speaker 5 (25:07):
Welcome back. It is since he three to sixty an
hour one thanks to our friends at Skyline Chili. Not
a normal since he three sixty. Post it up now
on the practice fields at pay Corpse Stadium because well
practice is done, but our training camp coverage.

Speaker 6 (25:23):
Never just getting underway.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
It is live from Bengals Training Camp. We just wrapped
up the Tony and Mo Football Show edition thanks to
our friends at ae Door and Window. Also thanks to
Cincinnati Tax Resolution. Thanks to Oakley Greens and now we're
here at the airport painting body broadcast area on the
Ray Saint Clair Roofing Hotline. We joked about it earlier,
but the upgrade in the press conference room for the Bengals. Yes,

(25:47):
they have microphones in the ceilings now. Paul Danner Junior
pointed out, they have more pads on the chairs. That's
a big deal to be able to actually hear questions
this year, So being.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Asked as a radio nerd, this has been a cause
of mine for a very long time. We carry the
Zach Taylor, Joe Burrow press conferences and for years you
haven't been able to hear the questions. So, you know,
it's nice to have some context to hear somebody answering
the questions. Sometimes you don't really know what they're referencing
because you can't hear the questions. You know, back when

(26:18):
I first started in this business, one of my tasks
was I had to go down to the press conference. No,
go to the press conference and hold the boom mic oh.
And then when I stopped doing that, we decided nobody
else wants to do that. So that was my show
on the air. You could hear the questions. So for
decades I have complained about this. Earlier on the Tony
and Moe Training Camp Show, we played the first half

(26:41):
of Zach Taylor's press conference and you could hear the
questions and so should.

Speaker 5 (26:44):
We do the second half?

Speaker 6 (26:45):
Let's do the second half right now?

Speaker 5 (26:46):
The questions.

Speaker 6 (26:48):
It's like a Q and a unbelievable questions and answers.

Speaker 8 (26:50):
Let's go understanding training camp is a marathon and not
a sprint.

Speaker 9 (26:55):
How you assess or manage guys who are badly for position,
badlely first final on the roster, early camp, that maybe
are trying to pace themselves to be here in.

Speaker 5 (27:02):
The whole camp.

Speaker 10 (27:04):
Yeah, I'd be surprised with me. It's pacing themselves. Guys.

Speaker 11 (27:07):
Guys want to get on the field, and they understand
you can't take any opportunity for granted. At the same time,
I think every position battle, whether it's for starting spot
or a backup spot or a key special teams role,
we don't set any timetable for when we need that
decided it typically in my lifetime has just taken shape
when it needed to take shape, And the answers become
clear to you. There will come a time where you

(27:28):
got to make a call if it is fifty to fifty.
But for the most part, generally it usually takes care
of itself.

Speaker 12 (27:34):
Mentioned a ramp up in an acclamation period here for
the guys, What does that look like for Dax Hill
coming back from what he's coming back?

Speaker 11 (27:40):
So the great thing is he can participate in walkthroughs
because we didn't put him on any lists. He can
do individual We'll start to ease him into seven on seven,
We'll get him some team stuff. There'll be at next
day where we pull him back to make sure we're
not overloading.

Speaker 10 (27:54):
Him with too many days too soon.

Speaker 11 (27:56):
So I would never want anybody to read into okay,
he was seeing doing more on one day and then
the next day of the least. I think that's just
part of the plan to make sure that we get
him into training camp and fully acclimated and feeling good
and confident. Everything I've seen from Dax has been awesome
Right now, He's confident, feels really good, chomping out the
bit to get out there.

Speaker 10 (28:15):
Now it's just on us to make sure that we
do it the right way.

Speaker 13 (28:18):
These first couple of days want to be effective. How
are you going to engage that.

Speaker 11 (28:23):
It's just quality work, you know, unforced aers. We don't
want any unforced airs pre and post, not penalties, just
being Chris getting out of the huddle, the communication. Those
are the elements that right now these guys can control
and then they'll get their legs underneath them and the
scheme will make more sense to them and things will
be a little bit crisper from a post snap standpoint.
But there's a lot of things that we can focus

(28:43):
on that that we'll be dialed in for Cleveland. That's
pre post, not penalties, that's turnovers, taking care of the ball,
getting the ball away, that's the communication, so there's no
enforced errors.

Speaker 10 (28:52):
So those are the things that we really.

Speaker 11 (28:54):
Evaluate early on that that standard does not change for
a second. You know, we expect none of that, and
just because it's day one doesn't mean that will change
our perspective on it.

Speaker 13 (29:05):
You have this group in for for OTAs in mini camp.

Speaker 12 (29:08):
Does it feel like there's more juice when you get
to training camp and it's now the last period leading
up to preseason and regular seasons.

Speaker 11 (29:15):
Hard for me to measure, you know, the juice level
I think our guys are in a great state of
mind right now, excited to get out there, and.

Speaker 10 (29:21):
So that that makes me excited as well.

Speaker 14 (29:24):
I'll go ahead here.

Speaker 12 (29:31):
My coworkers are just getting me left and right, letting
you guys, Zach, what do you enjoy about.

Speaker 13 (29:35):
A clean slate?

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Uh? And just climbing the mountain again, doing this all
over again.

Speaker 10 (29:39):
It's a new year.

Speaker 11 (29:40):
We have high expectations for ourself and that starts with
Putt putting our best foot forward week one against Cleveland,
and so there's a lot that's got to take place
before that. Again, like I said, I feel the excitement
from the players. I know our coaching staff is ready
to go. You know, we've been in here working together
for a while now and so just excited to get
out there and start building our resume as a team.

Speaker 14 (30:00):
Borough played so well last year. The evolution with him
is it about quarterback stuff or is that continued evolution
maybe about kin of all the other stuff aside from
when the balls live he's playing.

Speaker 11 (30:09):
I think you can talk to Joe the same way
you talk about a coach or another veteran player. It's
you always got things to learn and grow from and
ways you can evolve, And there might be this area
where you're excellent at and but I want to continue
to evolve it and adapt my play style as well.
So those are maybe better questions at times for him
because he's played at a really high level for us

(30:30):
and there's a lot of belief in the locker room
that this guy can lead us to everything that we
want to achieve, and it's great to have that at
your quarterback position. And so again it's but again it's
the starting point here for Joe too. It's day want
to train camp, and he's got a standard for himself
as well, and we expect him to match that.

Speaker 15 (30:50):
Did you go back through your notes from previous camps recently?
When you go back, how much was there managing Burrows
issues in there? And what do you think today when
you look back at some of those experiences, how.

Speaker 13 (31:02):
Hard those were to deal with?

Speaker 10 (31:04):
Yeah, last year didn't wasn't that drastic?

Speaker 11 (31:07):
You know, there there was a couple of practices the
way that the calendar felt where you know, we minimized him.
So that's not my main takeaway because I've put that
behind me and moved on. It's more just the structure
of practice and the things that we achieved at certain
points in the training camp that you want to make
sure it's like these little you know, checkpoints essentially, that
you want to make sure we've got our installs in

(31:28):
we feel like we've gotten enough of this area. Those
are the main things that I try to refresh myself on.
It's always different. You know, we played Philly on a Thursday,
so that's sooner than we've played a preseason game in
the past, So that's two days of install. You're losing
before that first game, and so that causes you to
shift your schedule around a little bit. So those are
things that affect me that I'm always trying to stay
on top of and already taking notes for this schedule,

(31:51):
for anything we need to tweet as training camp goes
on and for next year, and just trying to stay
on top of the talks.

Speaker 10 (31:56):
I know who you had want to know, I'll get
you Jay.

Speaker 16 (31:59):
The chemistry of the new coaches melting with the existing coaches.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
You guys feel like you're where you need to be
now or is it's still in property.

Speaker 11 (32:06):
It's great, you know, it's it's really we hired good
people and so when you hire good people, Uh, the
chemistry comes pretty naturally. I like being around all these guys.
They they've brought a lot of value to our team.
You know, we had we had a staff wife outing,
you know, last week, and it was good to see
everybody together. And so I feel really good about the
cohesion of the staff, and I know that the players
will feel that.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
Thank you.

Speaker 13 (32:28):
The change of coordinator on defense.

Speaker 17 (32:29):
Will you spend more time in this camp watching the
defense than the offense?

Speaker 13 (32:33):
And do you script yourself? Do you know what you're
gonna do every period or kind of do that by field?

Speaker 10 (32:37):
That changes over the course of camp.

Speaker 11 (32:39):
So that's really a joint effort by everybody on offense.
As we script, I take a hold of that as
we get going here, Pitch does a great job. I've
got so much confidence and Pitch and the rest of
the staff to continue to drive that. In the early
portions of camp. It does allow me to get into
some defensive stuff. But at the end of the day,
calling the offense and be a part of these you

(33:00):
got to be present, You got to be a part
of everything. So again it's just it's when we're not meeting,
jump over there with the defense, catch up with al.

Speaker 10 (33:07):
Al does a great job.

Speaker 11 (33:08):
Just bring me up to speed with what I need
to know and maybe some things I maybe missed up.

Speaker 10 (33:11):
Of course the day as practice.

Speaker 11 (33:13):
Goes, you'll see me just thissiness as usual, you know,
all being the same as pots I've usually been.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
In looking at the fast start mentality.

Speaker 18 (33:20):
How much of that falls on you know, the work
that happens after mini camp to before the players get
to training camp, and say there was a heightened tension
on that, and what would you assess, you know, the
veterans coming in the door yesterday on you know how
how that went.

Speaker 10 (33:35):
We always put that on the players.

Speaker 11 (33:37):
It's we've had great work leading up to June tenth
or whatever the date was that we broke. So now
taking five weeks, it's not five weeks off, it's it's
five more weeks that you've got to maintain and increase
how you feel right now so that when you show
up to training camp you're ready to use anything. We
don't want to go back and review anything. They're expected

(33:57):
to retain the information that we taught them in June
and whatever physical condition they we're in, if anything, it's
maintained or increased as they come forward to training camp
so there's no this on them too, to make sure
that they're walking in today and that they're ready to
hit the ground run.

Speaker 13 (34:11):
What do you like most about training camp?

Speaker 11 (34:14):
Just the energy, the whole fans being at practice. But
another comes a point where I'm ready for fans to
get either and we can focus on our stuff. But
it reminds you you don't need to be reminded why
we do it.

Speaker 10 (34:26):
We do it to win at super.

Speaker 11 (34:27):
Bowl, first and foremost for ourselves because we put in
a lot of work and we want to experience that.
But when you get to see the fans face to
face and the joy that a kid has when he's
at practice and sees a player walk by, and it
is an excellent reminder of just all the things you're
really doing this for. You're doing this for a community,

(34:48):
You're doing this for a fan base, You're doing it
for an organization that we believe in, we love in
the impact it has on the daily lives of everybody
in this community. When the Bengals want to lose, we
understand that and we believe in it, and we're right
there side by side of the them. So that's the
part of training camp. I really do you feel the
energy from the fan base, because once the season goes,
we isolate ourselves pretty well, you feel on game day,

(35:10):
but during the week we're in the building at practice,
we're by ourselves. So training camp is a good time
to really get face to face with the fans and
get a chance to feel their energy and excitement.

Speaker 13 (35:20):
Your offense personally. How wary are you introducing you play
whatever training camps? Obviously time to do it.

Speaker 18 (35:31):
Everybody that's such a great understanding that's what.

Speaker 13 (35:35):
They did, what they did last year and how they
did it. Just hesitation something into the.

Speaker 10 (35:41):
Next No, there's no hesitation because it's twofold for us.

Speaker 11 (35:45):
You want to continue to do the things that we
think we're x on that and and make people prove
that they can stop it. But at the same time,
you do have to evolve what you're doing because we
feel like people are going to spend a lot of
time studying us in the off season to make sure
that they can hit their gun running if we play
them early in the season, So it's on us too. Yeah,
we're going to continue to do things that we have
a lot of belief in that we think we do

(36:05):
better than everybody else. But at the same time, you
have to be able to evolve the scheme, to stay
one step ahead and keep teams guessing a little bit
so that our players have the best chance to maximize
their potential.

Speaker 5 (36:15):
All right, So that is Zach Taylor. He spoke right
before practice happened today. Joe Burrow spoke after practice. Play
some of that in our number two. But a lot
of the conversation I think is the preseason unfolds, is
what exactly is going to look different about the preseason

(36:36):
that can lead to a faster start. And I thought
it was interesting because we watched today. Charlie Goldsmith tweeted
out that he thought from a physical level that this
was the most physical, non petted practice he's ever watched
with the Bengals. Now again, I can't tackle. Yeah, you're
not going live. How much you can judge off that,
but if you're looking at points of okay, tell me

(36:59):
how it's different. At least there's a little bit of
an insight there, a little bit of an insight and
a change in the schedule, how guys are going to
play in the preseason. Outside of that, I don't really
know how much you can quantify what's been different about
the other offseason schedule.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
I would like to think that anybody who is listening
right now has been with us since ten o'clock this morning.
But I asked you kind of what we got underway, Like,
the big change this year is the timing of practice.
Now they've got some practices on the weekends later on
that were a little bit later in the day, but
for the most part, the work day for the players
is going to involve a practice at ten o'clock in
the morning, as opposed to every year since twenty eleven

(37:35):
the practices have been at three o'clock. And I thought
you had a good answer, And for those who might
not have been with us two and a half hours ago,
perhaps you could again outline if you want to break first,
I get it, but outline why this particular schedule is
more advantageous for the players and why that can have
a role in helping them get off to a faster start.

Speaker 5 (37:54):
Yeah. I mean from a player standpoint, I think one
is the meeting schedule. You know, you in years would
meet all day and then you come out here and
practice and then you're probably gonna meet after it. Just
it doesn't break up the day in a way that
you would like as opposed to this. You get here
in the morning, probably one meeting, you're out here on
the field, you're getting your work done. And Zach alluded
to this in our our previous show. It's also the temperature,

(38:20):
he says, you're getting out on the field and it's
high seventies, low eighties instead of mid nineties or up
to one hundred degrees. So that I think you can
push the urgency more. You can push the pace more
and ask them to do more without having to take
as many breaks or have to build in a water
break period so the players can get back hydrated. You're
still gonna hydrate, but it's not the old school of

(38:42):
you got to be out here in midday practicing for
three hours or else you're gonna be cramping. No, you
take care of cramping and things like that based on
how you take care of your body during the week.
So that's all gonna to play itself out. I don't
have a problem. I know the players like being out
here earlier better than anything else, So we can talk
more about that. Let's finish up our number one. Joe

(39:04):
Burrow in our number two, all coming up next thanks
to our friends here at AE Door and Window for
making this possible and it's since he three to sixty.
Thanks to our friends at Skyline Chilly as well on
ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports.

Speaker 2 (39:15):

Speaker 1 (40:42):
Today from the Clement's Heating and Air Temstar team thirty.

Speaker 5 (40:46):
Yes, Welcome back sixty three sixty thanks to Skyline Chili.
We're here at the practice fields right across the street
from Paul Brown State.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
M Where we are is We are at the airport
Painted Body broadcast area.

Speaker 6 (41:03):
That's where we're sitting at right with.

Speaker 5 (41:05):
This nice tent over top of us. Yeah, it's fantastic.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
Bengals really did I'll be completely transparent. There was a
part of me wondering, like, what's the set.

Speaker 6 (41:14):
Up going to be like, not that anybody and our
audience cares.

Speaker 1 (41:18):
They gave us prime real estate, we had a great
view of practice, they put a tent over us, they
gave us a cooler full of water, and so I
would be remiss if we didn't thank the Bengals.

Speaker 5 (41:30):
And we got one of our members, of our team
members going to get us lunch now, which is.

Speaker 1 (41:34):
Awesome, But in all seriousness, I would be remiss if
we didn't point out how hospitable the Bengals have been
to us. I hope they realized we're coming back nine
more times. But we really do thank them because this
is something that I wanted to do for a long time.
I know you got a chance to do it a
little bit last year. They could just stick us in

(41:55):
the corner, no tent, you're exposed, bring your own beverage,
and it's been the exact opposite. So I really do
want to thank the Bengals for rolling out the red carpetsins.

Speaker 5 (42:05):
We have a chance right now to watch really some
of the unsung heroes. The grounds crew is replacing all
the divots from the field today. Yeah, not sure what
these machines they're rotting are called, but they looking they
look expensive.

Speaker 6 (42:17):
They they're cutting grass that could not be.

Speaker 5 (42:19):
Cut or fine. And then the other guys are going
and picking like any cleat marks that have caused divots
today and they're replacing the divots, which is big on
a golf course and on an NFL practice field, no
question about it.

Speaker 1 (42:30):
And by the way, it's worth pointing out our beloved
Red Legs, oh playing right now in Washington trying to
avoid a sweep. Jake Freeley with an RBIs a single
in the fourth inning. And the good guys, you know
you were writing them off before, Well they got us
a training camp.

Speaker 6 (42:46):
It's over.

Speaker 5 (42:46):
They've never been They've not been swept this year.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
Right, and and they still may get swept, but they're
they're having something to say about it today. Nick Lodolo
on the Hill on the Reds have a one nothing
leading the top.

Speaker 6 (42:57):
Of the wall.

Speaker 5 (42:57):
I wanted to get your thoughts on this because our poll,
uh and for Sincy three sixty todight kind of ties
into that. Yeah, thanks of course to our friends I
Revive Fitnessystems dot Com and coach PJ. Street. When does
football season start for you? Was it after last night's
Red's loss? Is it today? Is it week one? Or
is it in August?

Speaker 1 (43:19):
It's today? Its like it's it's because today, like there's start.
Hopefully no news is good news, right, but like it's
it's today now, like I can multitask. So we literally
have the Reds game on right here.

Speaker 5 (43:36):
I you know, I'm obviously paying attention to what the
Reds are doing next week. I'll pay attention to the
Bearcats going to camp Hire.

Speaker 1 (43:43):
The Bengals practicing at ten o'clock in the morning is
not going to keep me from watching the Reds at
seven o'clock a right, But football season for me begins
today when they get on the field.

Speaker 6 (43:52):
Now, I will admit to you this.

Speaker 5 (43:54):
From the line that was wrapped around the block down here,
dude at about eight am this morning, I would say
that a lot of people view today as the start
of the football season.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
I will admit to you that, like I still feel
like the preseason's too long, you know, I know they
shortened it, but like we get to that third game
and it's like, oh boy, the worst is because it's
it's different now it's the.

Speaker 5 (44:14):
Break between the last preseason game and the regular Yeah,
there's so much time, but I.

Speaker 1 (44:19):
I really like it. I love going to higher ground.
I know you do too. They'll be there next week
we can start talking about UC football.

Speaker 6 (44:26):
This season.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
Will have the foot Pro Football Hall of Fame game
here very soon, like today, But it's today.

Speaker 5 (44:32):
It honestly feels like we just wrapped up the last
Tony and Mo football show and talked about Man, it sucks.
The off seasons are so long. Yeah, and here we
are already back, and it does feel like what was
a very important offseason, as we've talked about for the
Cincinnati Bengals. It does feel like that as we sit

(44:55):
here today, football's back.

Speaker 6 (44:56):
It feels like football's back.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
It felt like a really long offseason because not as
much happened relative to our expectations when last season ended. Like,
let's be honest, and they may have gotten it right,
but we were expecting them to do more in free agency,
and they.

Speaker 5 (45:14):
Didn't like the way the draft would Yeah, the picks
they're used in the draft, some would question.

Speaker 1 (45:18):
But and like I watched Quarterback, and you know, the
last couple of episodes are all about how the season ended,
and that felt like forever ago to me, Like those
those last games where they're playing the Broncos, which is
a great game, and the game against the Steelers, like
watching that felt like a lifetime ago. That this offseason

(45:38):
has been very long, and I think and the local
baseball team can have something to do about this. I
think the next six weeks are gonna be interminable because
we all can't wait for the season and it's such
a pivotal year for this team. Ye and week one,
they've got to change the narrative. Like I feel like
it's gonna be like the two weeks before Christmas were
just drags. I think these six weeks are gonna drag

(45:58):
very slowly, which is what would be the cool if
the Reds could start winning again.

Speaker 5 (46:02):
Ten in a row.

Speaker 6 (46:03):
Sure coming up today? Really, yeah, calling your shot.

Speaker 5 (46:06):
I'm calling it.

Speaker 1 (46:07):
Win today, sweep the race, sweep the Dodgers trade for
a Juhanio Suarez and Stephen.

Speaker 5 (46:12):
Kuan Yeah, and a bull Paron Duran.

Speaker 6 (46:14):
And Jaron Duran and then and then hit the ground
running in August.

Speaker 5 (46:18):
Yes, okay, Bearcats back in the college football playoff. Wow,
Bengals going to the Super Bowl and h when we
come back. Joe Burrow from just a few minutes ago
at the podium, can't wait. Speaking after practice number one
of Bengals training he was asked about desertter. They don't
want to put that in his mind. He's already fighting
through that already. On the ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 2 (46:40):
WCKY, Cincinnati, make us the number one pre set on
your car radio and on the free knew it improved,
iHeartRadio app Free.

Speaker 3 (46:47):
Never sounded so good.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
ESPN fifteen thirty Nationally, you know locally since he three
sixty about Cincinnati from Cincinnati, sponsored in part by Cincy Shirts,
since all since the all day. This is ESPN fifteen
thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 5 (47:07):
All right, welcome back. It is our number two since
he three sixty. We are live from Bengals training camp.
We could not be live from Bengals training camp without
the support and the help of our good friends at
AE Door and Window. They sell the best and service.
The rest and special thanks to our guy Adam Weber
for sponsoring our broadcast at Bengals training camp and all
his continued support of the Bengals for so many years.

(47:30):
Now let's do this. Joe Burrow came off the practice
field this afternoon and he sat down to speak to
members of the media about more of the off season,
more about day one and really about training camp. We
have that. Now, let's get some Joe Burrow from earlier.

Speaker 19 (47:45):
It's wanting to be back. Got a lot to work
on for sure, but it was good to be back.

Speaker 3 (47:51):
Like that. Poorly, why do you think that was the
I was out a case. This is usually how it
goes for the first day.

Speaker 19 (48:00):
We we just we got a lot to clean up,
but that we got a lot of time.

Speaker 14 (48:04):
So why does that?

Speaker 1 (48:05):
I think it's probably that seems like it takes a
lot of want to find a rhythm early.

Speaker 17 (48:09):
Why is it that it kind of maybe takes a
little bit once he can gets roll up.

Speaker 3 (48:12):
Well, usually everybody's on their own working.

Speaker 19 (48:14):
You know, we don't have We're not really going against
each other like that. So just you know, offense is
all about timing, rhythm, working together to become a cohesive unit,
and so that's.

Speaker 3 (48:31):
Not going to be the case on the first day.

Speaker 13 (48:32):
Morning practice is obviously different.

Speaker 10 (48:34):
Are your thoughts?

Speaker 13 (48:35):
Initially?

Speaker 3 (48:35):
Very pro morning practice?

Speaker 20 (48:37):
Zach said that he's going to play you more in
preseason than ever before. How does it feel for you
to be able to go into this training camp with
no restrictions from a practice standpoint or preseason.

Speaker 19 (48:48):
Yeah, I'm excited for the chance to get better, and
those are are valuable reps that we haven't had in
the past for for good reason. But I think I
think we're making the right decision this year. I think
that's gonna benefit us in the long run. Why are
you so much for morning practices.

Speaker 3 (49:08):
Just nutrition timing?

Speaker 19 (49:12):
You know it's going to be better in the weight
room practice in the morning, we can go in and
get a lift and work hard in there too, when
you know, if we were lifting before practice, you don't
want to go in there and burn yourself out before
you go out and work on your craft.

Speaker 3 (49:26):
So I think the timing of it is just going
to be better overall.

Speaker 10 (49:31):
To do all that and all that up at all.

Speaker 1 (49:34):
Mmm.

Speaker 3 (49:35):
I mean we had talked about it in years past,
but no, I had not. That was their decision.

Speaker 8 (49:40):
Were you involved in all the decision for yourself and
other starters to play more in the preseason.

Speaker 3 (49:45):
I wouldn't. I wouldn't say that.

Speaker 19 (49:47):
I think coaches know how I've felt about that and
how I've always thought that that would benefit me for sure.
Do you you know, I think other positions you have
to be a little careful because of how physical that
those positions are.

Speaker 3 (50:08):
But for me, those reps are valuable.

Speaker 8 (50:10):
Did you see anything on defense that Al Golden brought
to it today?

Speaker 3 (50:16):
And I thought they were really I thought they were
really sharp today.

Speaker 19 (50:19):
I thought their energy was great, and I think the
defensive backs were playing really well, playing their leverages, sticking coverage, so.

Speaker 3 (50:28):
They won the day.

Speaker 8 (50:30):
Favorite day of the off season was when you sat
in with the defense for three or four hours and
watched the film.

Speaker 13 (50:35):
How how did that come about? How to coup prompt
for that? Or have you done that the past?

Speaker 6 (50:39):
I have not.

Speaker 19 (50:40):
That was something that Zach came to me and wanted
me to to come in and do.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
You know, I hope they felt it was productive.

Speaker 19 (50:49):
You know, I feel like I know what I'm seeing
out there, and I know what I'm looking at and
can can tell what's coming.

Speaker 3 (50:54):
So h I hope they got something from it.

Speaker 13 (50:57):
What would you have been doing in that time? What
would you sacrifice to sit in and do that with them?

Speaker 21 (51:04):
I mean it was.

Speaker 3 (51:07):
A half two hours something like that, sitting at home
in the sun.

Speaker 22 (51:10):
That's about it.

Speaker 13 (51:12):
How'd that meeting? How'd that needing going?

Speaker 5 (51:14):
Like?

Speaker 13 (51:14):
Did they did they show you say?

Speaker 17 (51:15):
Did you say you or did you talk about specific
packages or plays.

Speaker 23 (51:20):
Or how it needing like?

Speaker 3 (51:22):
But you're just talking. It was a cut up.

Speaker 19 (51:26):
I'm not sure how many plays, maybe fifty to seventy.

Speaker 3 (51:30):
Something like that.

Speaker 19 (51:32):
But I was just talking through what I'm seeing, who
I'm looking at, who I'm keen in certain coverages, certain
certain teams, what I'm you know, who's giving it away?

Speaker 3 (51:44):
All that good stuff?

Speaker 10 (51:47):
Not being here can.

Speaker 19 (51:49):
Yeah, obviously disappointing. You know, you'd like to have have
all your guys out there day one to try to
to build that cohesion. And I was talking about earlier,
but that's it's not how it usually works out.

Speaker 3 (52:04):
You know, it's a business, and that is Uh, how's gone.

Speaker 10 (52:11):
On your own that every year there seems to be
something all those wanted to be antau.

Speaker 19 (52:18):
Yeah, of course, of course that's you know, it can
be frustrating, but you know that's the business of of
the NFL.

Speaker 3 (52:24):
That's how things go.

Speaker 24 (52:25):
What did you learn from your own contract negotiations that
you keep in mind when your teammates are going through them.

Speaker 3 (52:35):
I just I know how it goes. I know how
it goes.

Speaker 14 (52:39):
Have you spoken to Trey since he decided not to report.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
Yeah, I mean are in constant contact.

Speaker 5 (52:45):
ID like to see.

Speaker 20 (52:46):
More urgency from both sides, the front office and the
players to getting those deals done so they can get
here as soon as possible.

Speaker 22 (52:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (52:54):
I think the earlier you get these things done.

Speaker 22 (52:56):
The better.

Speaker 17 (52:58):
I think when we lost all, you know, we understand
where you're coming from, and they've got to do that
because that's that have been so kind of the same
and the often might take that.

Speaker 10 (53:06):
A hand of the business and do all under shame
like things.

Speaker 14 (53:09):
Are at even though they're not here a camp and
with the channel.

Speaker 3 (53:12):
Yeah, we you know, nobody's ever gonna multiplayer for doing
business how he feels he he needs to. It's it's
cut through business.

Speaker 19 (53:24):
It's uh, you gotta fight for everything you can get.

Speaker 3 (53:30):
That's that's how it goes.

Speaker 17 (53:32):
How would how would you like Joe this training camp
to go from the get go, from the start, from
day one, And how do you think it will be
any different than in years past?

Speaker 22 (53:41):
For you.

Speaker 3 (53:48):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 19 (53:48):
I'm not sure it'll be much different. I think you know,
you approach it a little differently when you start to
get closer to the to the preseason games. You know,
that'll feel more like a game week for me. You know,
obviously you're still doing training camp practices and trying to
get the most out of those, but mindset wise, when

(54:09):
you travel under these preseason games, it's gonna be a
little different mindset, a little different feeling.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
I think that'll be positive.

Speaker 14 (54:17):
They continue evolution of your game. Are there still underbacking
things you're focused on or continuing to progress? It down
more about kind of what doesn't happen kind of balls.

Speaker 19 (54:29):
I mean, you're just constantly improving every day in every
facet of of your game. There's never an area of
your game that you stop working on.

Speaker 22 (54:40):
Uh.

Speaker 19 (54:42):
You know, obviously, you go into an offseason and you
reflect on on the year before and think about, you know,
things you could have done better, things you could have
done more, things you could have done less. But you know,
when you get into into the training you're trying to
get better and every every faster your game.

Speaker 14 (55:00):
What is the continuity on this offense? Do for for
you what you can do this year.

Speaker 19 (55:04):
Yeah, when we have guys back like we do, you
know it mhm.

Speaker 22 (55:10):
It should it.

Speaker 19 (55:11):
Should be seamless year in and year out, game in
and game out. It wasn't today, So you know we're
gonna watch the take and get better from that. But
you know we have we have the guys in the
room that have done it before and that that feels good.

Speaker 15 (55:29):
The publish you want to play in the preseason quarter
half the quarter you have in.

Speaker 3 (55:34):
Your mind like that won't be that won't be my decision.

Speaker 19 (55:38):
But I think whatever reps of that that we do get,
we're gonna make the most of.

Speaker 13 (55:41):
What is the value you say they're valuable to you?

Speaker 15 (55:44):
What specifically is that value you're looking for out of
preseason snaps?

Speaker 20 (55:49):
Is?

Speaker 19 (55:49):
Well, for for me, you you can you can practice
full speed against the defense all you want, but you're
not getting hit. You're not quite feeling that, and and
the D line is stopping free runners are stopping a
couple of yards before they get to you. So Number one,
you know, you can work on on scrambling a little

(56:09):
bit and you get that that timing of how quickly
you actually have to get the ball out of your
hands in those preseason games, whereas in training camp you
try to simulate that as best as you can, but
it's not quite the same.

Speaker 12 (56:22):
You said you're always trying to get go ahead checked
speaking free.

Speaker 13 (56:25):
Is it unusual to see a safety lifts on day
one of camp?

Speaker 19 (56:29):
Well, I'm not sure I would say unusual. You know,
Gino does a good job of hiding it though.

Speaker 13 (56:34):
You said you're always trying to get better.

Speaker 12 (56:35):
Joe, coming off the year you had last year, when
you had your best statistical year, what do you think
you have to get better at everything?

Speaker 19 (56:43):
There's never there's never an area that I'm I'm satisfied and.

Speaker 3 (56:50):
And where I'm at.

Speaker 19 (56:53):
You know, the second that that happens is the second
you start gain complacent, the second that everybody else starts
to pass you up.

Speaker 3 (57:00):
So there's no.

Speaker 19 (57:04):
Matter how good you are in one area of the game,
is always room to improve it.

Speaker 8 (57:09):
Rhetor we're fairly fairly close to being teammates years ago
at U see have you kept an eye on him
at all over the years, and and what.

Speaker 3 (57:20):
Did you think of that edition? Yeah, I've followed his
career from from winning.

Speaker 19 (57:30):
You know, I certainly don't have the relationship with with
Shamar that I do with Trey yet, just because we
haven't spent as much time I'm together.

Speaker 3 (57:39):
But you know, he's doing what he feels his best.

Speaker 14 (57:41):
Physically last year he bulked up. Were there any physical
things he focused on during the op scene?

Speaker 19 (57:47):
Not quite as heavy as I was last year, just
a couple of pounds.

Speaker 3 (57:51):
But I'm feeling really good this.

Speaker 13 (57:53):
Time of a year, Joe.

Speaker 12 (57:54):
Everybody's got this idea of who the best quarterbacks are
in the NFL. Sure, we look back to last year's
stats or who wanted the playoffs? What would you consider
the criteria as the separator of the best quarterbacks in
the end, But when you start talking about the elite name,
what's the separator for those guys?

Speaker 19 (58:14):
I think consistency is what it is at the end
of the day. You know, there's anybody can go out
and do it for a game, a couple of games,
four games, five games, But can you do it for
seventeen games?

Speaker 3 (58:30):
Can you do it for years and years and years
years in a row? That's uh.

Speaker 19 (58:36):
I think that's what ultimately separates the great ones from
the good ones. And you know, I think everybody you
can tell the guys that do it year in and
year out.

Speaker 3 (58:48):
Last year.

Speaker 20 (58:49):
Last year, you gave a pretty introspective response when we
asked you about just the amount of injuries you see
in such a short period of time and how that
made you look at your career as it hit you
yet that you're entering year six, and just maybe.

Speaker 24 (59:03):
How fast it's gone, or maybe it doesn't seem that fast.

Speaker 19 (59:06):
Yeah, certainly, certainly crazy that that you're six is here.

Speaker 3 (59:13):
It doesn't necessarily feel that way in some ways, but
then it does in others. I'm happy to be where
I'm at.

Speaker 19 (59:22):
I'm going to keep trying to get better, hopefully hopefully
play a lot a lot longer.

Speaker 14 (59:26):
Year six, Do you feel like you've had a normal
training camp yet?

Speaker 13 (59:29):
Whereas this feel like it could be the first one?

Speaker 4 (59:31):
Still?

Speaker 19 (59:34):
Yeah, certainly certainly haven't him in a long time, that's
for sure. Uh So, fingers crossed and we stay healthy
on this one and keep working hard and trying to
get better practice.

Speaker 13 (59:44):
It's already stack. You look at you say, I want
that to stack. I want to improve twenty five.

Speaker 19 (59:51):
You know, I always think the more completions that that
you can have, the more opportunities you're going to give
your guys to go and make plays. So you know,
I'm always trying to have the highest completion percentage possible.
In some games that's not going to be the case.
You know, some games you're gonna have to to throw
the ball away a lot to stay on schedule and

(01:00:12):
put yourself in good positions. But you know, I think
over the course of seventeen games, the more more completion
so you can have, the better your offense is going to.

Speaker 6 (01:00:21):
Be on the field and helping the team drills get
ready the season.

Speaker 10 (01:00:25):
He's a crossing the team drills all day.

Speaker 19 (01:00:28):
Yeah, you know, like I said, for for me, you know,
it's hard to it's hard to really replicate that timing
from the defensive line without the physicality of an actual game.
You know, I think I think Orlando would would get
the most out of going up against him every single day.

(01:00:50):
And you certainly feel Tray's presidence out there and in practice, but.

Speaker 3 (01:00:55):
Quarterback wise, it's just different in a in an actual game.

Speaker 13 (01:00:58):
You say you feel Trace president, what do you mean
by that?

Speaker 3 (01:01:01):
Trades, winning, trades, getting back there.

Speaker 19 (01:01:04):
Trad's going to be around the quarterback, But like I said,
in practice, he's not hitting He's not hitting me, so
not as much as in.

Speaker 25 (01:01:10):
A game when practice one isn't as seamless as you
like it to be and some things go poorly as
you said, is that restorating to you or are you
more like, you know, rush it off because it is practicing?

Speaker 10 (01:01:22):
Of course?

Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
Yeah, of course. It's frustrating time.

Speaker 19 (01:01:26):
In any part of life that something doesn't go the
way that you expected to or want it to.

Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
It's going to be frustrating.

Speaker 19 (01:01:33):
But the good thing about football is come back tomorrow
and we got another chance.

Speaker 10 (01:01:37):
Last year.

Speaker 17 (01:01:38):
You said, Joe a couple of times, especially in the
second half of the season, that you've helped the obligation
to kind of carry the team more and more do
what you could offensively. Would you like to see more
of a balance this year, even including your own role.

Speaker 3 (01:01:51):
Yeah, I'm ready for whatever. You know, whatever the game
calls for, is is it? You know what I'm gonna do.

Speaker 19 (01:01:56):
I pride myself in being very adaptable as a quarterback
and can play a lot of different ways to help
the team win. So I'm going to continue to try
to feel the game out early and adapt quickly to
try to win.

Speaker 8 (01:02:10):
Joe, what are your early thoughts on how the running
back room has been constructed for this season.

Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
Yeah, I'm very, very very excited about it.

Speaker 19 (01:02:19):
You know, I have obviously Traces is going to be awesome.
We all know what samaj brings to the table. You know,
we're gonna find out what TOAs brings. I think, you know,
he's been a really good addition so far catching the
ball out of the backfield. Seems to be a smart,
patient runner. You don't really it's tough to tell, you know,

(01:02:40):
how how good of a runner a guy is without
pads on yet, so you know, when when the pad
pads get on, will know more. But you know, everything
I've seen so far has been very optimistic.

Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
Joe, Well, you don't have all your edgdressers here.

Speaker 24 (01:02:52):
You do have Tomorrow and Tea on the field still
in this building and Jamorrow ring at How about the
first day camp instead of a baseball cap. How does
it feel to have them out there.

Speaker 19 (01:03:00):
And how are you able to Yeah, that's just gonna
make us that much better for week one, not not
having those guys until a couple of weeks before the
first game. Jamar rarely practiced it all before the first
game last year, that was tough game plan wise, timing wise,
rhythm wise.

Speaker 3 (01:03:18):
So having those guys is gonna be valuable.

Speaker 13 (01:03:20):
What did you think of the show, Quarterback?

Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
I thought it was good. I hope everybody liked it.

Speaker 19 (01:03:25):
I had a lot of positive responses, so I was
I was happy with it.

Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
Did you have a favorite scene or a part of it?
I wouldn't say. I wouldn't say that this time last
season you said about your ability. I think I'm pretty
damn good.

Speaker 12 (01:03:38):
Talk about your confidences to just continue to grow in
your own ability every single year.

Speaker 19 (01:03:42):
Yeah, I think I'm as confident as as anybody.

Speaker 22 (01:03:46):
You know.

Speaker 19 (01:03:46):
I know the work that I put in. That's what
it comes down to. You can You're only as confident
as unless you're delusional. And if you don't put the
work in and you're still really confident, then I guess
that doesn't make a lot of sense. But I'm confident
myself because I know the work that I put in,

(01:04:06):
and I know I've been there and done that.

Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
So that's why I have.

Speaker 8 (01:04:10):
That no buzz cut, no blond die job this year.
Did you just decide to keep it?

Speaker 13 (01:04:17):
You never know what I'm gonna do, all right?

Speaker 5 (01:04:25):

camp as well, and that gives us an opportunity to
still run our talkbacks. We've got to get back to
what Joe Burrow had to say and and plenty more.
And for the first time since we just went right

(01:06:47):
off the riff, I can just say that it's good
to be back, and Austin, thank you for filling in
over the last week and a half. Am I allowed
to talk now, Austin's here, I'm allowed to talk now.
Austin's a part of this now Wow one thirty Austin
checks in. Welcome, this is fun.

Speaker 4 (01:07:04):
I'm glad you're back.

Speaker 5 (01:07:05):
Tony. I'm happy to be back. Shout out. There was
four different people I ran into while they were walking
on the beach Austin that are Sincy three sixty listeners,
No kidding, just random people that were walking along stopped
said hi, made a mind, mentioned of talkbacks or they
enjoy listening to the day. One gentleman, I didn't get

(01:07:26):
his name, but he said, thank you to you and
Austin for your service. Wow, all you do to get
us through the workday.

Speaker 4 (01:07:32):
That seems a little bit overly serious.

Speaker 5 (01:07:35):
He did, but I appreciate that. I didn't get his name,
but we appreciate it. We'll have a lot to get
to as far as it pertains to Bengals Camp. But
let's get to our talkbacks first.

Speaker 4 (01:07:44):
I do want to ask a question talkback. God said
that he ran into you. Can you confirm that that.

Speaker 5 (01:07:51):
He ran into me today?

Speaker 4 (01:07:52):
No, at in Florida. If he did, guys were vacationing
at the same time.

Speaker 5 (01:07:58):
Yes, if he ran into me, he did not come
up and say Hi, I'm talk by God. Okay, maybe
he could have been one of the people that I met,
but he did not, and no one introduced themselves as Hey,
I'm talked about God. Right, so I can either.

Speaker 4 (01:08:12):
Confirm nor Deny.

Speaker 9 (01:08:13):
Okay, I've been a Bengal fan since nineteen seventy three.
I've seen Ken Anderson take him to the super Bowl
in eighty eighty one. I've seen Boomer or Sciasin do
it in eighty eight, and I've seen Joe Burrow do
it in twenty twenty one. And now we have the
Trey Hendrickson situation. And this is what we get.

Speaker 5 (01:08:41):
Samos thorn Man Man, Yeah, that's look, Samar and Trey
Hendrickson aren't here.

Speaker 6 (01:08:49):
Others.

Speaker 18 (01:08:50):
Hey guys, it's me first round picked Shamar Stewart.

Speaker 4 (01:08:53):
And you know, I'm just sitting here with my agent
and all.

Speaker 14 (01:08:56):
Of his other completely serious clients, and.

Speaker 26 (01:08:59):
You know, I just thought i'd given an update.

Speaker 5 (01:09:01):
On the contract situation.

Speaker 1 (01:09:02):
You know, I was talking with these other clients on
my agent, you know, the Rizzler, Baby.

Speaker 10 (01:09:08):
Gronk, Big and Little whatever Costco.

Speaker 1 (01:09:12):
And you know, they said, I need to keep holding out.

Speaker 9 (01:09:14):
They give them the current contract one boom.

Speaker 27 (01:09:21):
That just a quick note to Tray his agent and
his mouthpiece, Diana Rossini.

Speaker 4 (01:09:26):
The captain is elected out of respect.

Speaker 27 (01:09:28):
It's not something that's handed to you during a contract negotiation.
This just doesn't sound right, and has echoes of whining
about not talking to his wife when they were negotiating
the contract.

Speaker 22 (01:09:39):
Just grow a pair of buddy, will you.

Speaker 5 (01:09:42):
Yeah. I gotta get myself caught up to speed off
and kind of agree with that day. I'm listening on
the show on Monday and I'm like, man, it's mock
Turtle Soup day. Yeah, this sounds like a deal's gonna
get done. Maybe today they're gonna announce something. And then
the guy passed me on his way to Florida as
I was leaving.

Speaker 4 (01:09:57):
I went to bed Monday night thinking trade is going
to be a Bengal extended tomorrow. Yeah, And it was the.

Speaker 5 (01:10:04):
Exact the road Jack as far as opposed to its agent. Man, yikes,
yeah bad.

Speaker 28 (01:10:11):
So Trey is taking his ball and going home. Well
we'll see you back, Trey when define start piling up
and cutting into your financial security.

Speaker 22 (01:10:18):
That's it.

Speaker 4 (01:10:19):
I'm pumped.

Speaker 28 (01:10:20):
We got Bengals training camp starting today. We got to
Tony Imo training camp show starting at ten going to noon.
We got Sincy three sixty three, we got mo Egger
showed from three that's six, and to quote another unnamed franchise.

Speaker 3 (01:10:36):
But I'm loving it.

Speaker 4 (01:10:40):
An unnamed franchise. Have you stopped by for the snack
wrap yet?

Speaker 5 (01:10:47):
No? Okay, no, I didn't make it yet.

Speaker 29 (01:10:49):
Tony Ryan from Mainville just wanted to welcome you back
from your annual trip to Cskey.

Speaker 10 (01:10:55):
Had a question for you.

Speaker 29 (01:10:57):
My wife and I are heading down there next did
it weekend? We do every year as well? Curious as
how the water was. I had heard it from a
friend of the line that was there a couple weeks
ago that the water wasn't the greatest, So.

Speaker 4 (01:11:09):
Oh, that's my question.

Speaker 29 (01:11:11):
Was crystal clear a good time, looking forward to sitting
on the beach drinking a few cold ones, and I'm
doing a whole lot nothing.

Speaker 5 (01:11:17):
It was murky day one after that, it was crystal
clear every day that I was down there, and I
did cash in one day and I got a free
doctory from the doctory deck.

Speaker 4 (01:11:25):
What was causing the murky?

Speaker 5 (01:11:27):
The reason that had come in?

Speaker 22 (01:11:30):
All right?

Speaker 23 (01:11:31):
And then gone, welcome back, Tony Addie, good job holding
down the floor. Do you guys know if the Bengals
new interview room will help us understand?

Speaker 5 (01:11:45):
Yep, it does. The questions asked, I think that was
most biggest touchaways and answered Yeah, I think that was
most biggest takeaway.

Speaker 4 (01:11:52):
So I was told months ago that that was going
to happen. Man, uh, and I wasn't sure if I
was allowed to, like say anything. I think they kind
of wanted it to be a surprise of how well
they did it. And I think some of the audio
levels and stuff they're still.

Speaker 6 (01:12:07):
Going to work on.

Speaker 5 (01:12:08):
It just makes a difference hearing it.

Speaker 4 (01:12:10):
It makes it so much better.

Speaker 30 (01:12:13):
Hello, this is former President Ronald Reagan. Yes, Well, now
that they're done with that auto pen machine in DC,
I recommend we get some low level staffer at Paul
Brown Stadium use it to sign Mike Brown's name to
contracts for Tray and Shamar and just be done with it.

Speaker 21 (01:12:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:12:33):
I didn't expect an auto pin joke today.

Speaker 5 (01:12:35):
At this point, and Moe did a great job to
ask that. I mean he brought it up. I don't know, Austin,
barring him being here later tonight that if Shamar continues
to wait, I don't know that when he shows up,
you don't just say, well, maybe we'll have a package
or two form, but other than that, he's not going
to be a contributor this year. Yeah, I mean he's
missed so much at this point. Correct, Tray can do

(01:12:58):
it because Trey's a veteran and he's going to pick
up on it. But I don't think Chamar, as a rookie,
can just show up and be like, Yep, I'm ready
to go. I don't think. And you can't slow your
whole camp down to bring him along slowly.

Speaker 4 (01:13:12):
And on top of that, I mean, what they play
a game two weeks from tomorrow? Would he be even
be ready to play in a game two weeks from tomorrow?

Speaker 5 (01:13:18):
Correct?

Speaker 4 (01:13:18):
I don't know that he would if he got here tonight.
I don't know.

Speaker 26 (01:13:22):
Yep, up, guys, Bika Hooney in Kentucky, I'm tired of
hearing about Trey Hendrickson.

Speaker 3 (01:13:25):
He's got a contract.

Speaker 26 (01:13:26):
Either play under it or don't. I hope the Bengals
don't up it. Obviously they don't want him on the
team after year one er they'd give him more guarantees.
It's a one year deal. I wouldn't even give it
to him now, I'd played for seventeen million. Either show
up or you retire. That's your two choices. Also, I
was out of Little Miami over the weekend, didn't see
Ken Brew for man, the forty five to sixty five
year olds. The amount of hay dudes. I've seen the

(01:13:48):
war out there by them, guys is unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (01:13:53):
What's your stands on, hey, dudes, despise him. I am
with you on that shows that.

Speaker 14 (01:14:06):
It might sound in the.

Speaker 5 (01:14:09):
Shad.

Speaker 4 (01:14:10):
I can't hear him.

Speaker 31 (01:14:12):
Second about coming down to training camp. But a need
for you guys scope out for me. Uh, shade is
there shade there?

Speaker 5 (01:14:21):
Oh?

Speaker 31 (01:14:22):
Do I need to bring an umbrella into the food?
What kind of food is down there?

Speaker 5 (01:14:27):
Shade and food? Years past, we go every day. Years past,
they've had like Donado's down here, they have like concession
foods down here.

Speaker 4 (01:14:37):
I will say, I think they've done hot dogs, gator Yes.

Speaker 5 (01:14:40):
Unless you're like in the VIP tented areas. There's not
a lot of room for shade around here. There is
no shape. I can say that.

Speaker 16 (01:14:49):
Tony and Austin right from Cleave, Hi, A couple of
guys this morning. We're talking about Miles Murphy and what
do you hope he becomes if he hasn't exhibited anything
in the what couple of years he's been here, What
possible hope or whatever do you have for him that
all of a sudden he's going to turn into something
that he's exhibited.

Speaker 5 (01:15:11):
No proclivity to be to this point in time, I
think the only thing you hold out onto is to
the Al Golden approach and a fresh start and a
new scheme and a new system and how Al Golden
can impact him. Also, there is no Sam Hubbard that
Sam Hubbard's always kind of been or the person you

(01:15:32):
can rely on, right him and Trey, and it's you know,
I don't think Miles was asked to do or be
as much. Now he's going to be asked that. So
for that reason, I'd like to see how he responds
to it. And if not, and it's not this year,
then you do have to move on.

Speaker 4 (01:15:45):
My answer to that question Ray would be not just
that Al Golden has a new defensive scheme, but also
there's a new defensive line coach in Jerry Montgomery, who
I would hope can get a little bit more out
of Miles Murphy. Plus he's going to get a lot
more reps, a lot more reps maybe than he's ever
gotten before. And just with another year of experience and
what he went through and kind of the pressure of

(01:16:05):
a contract year. Sometimes we see guys show up all
of a sudden before a contract year. So that's what
I'm hoping for with Miles. And from everything we saw
today in the limited video that we did see, he
looked to be very fast, which is a good thing.

Speaker 5 (01:16:18):
Well, defense won the day, said Joe. That's right, defense
won the day.

Speaker 1 (01:16:21):
Tony.

Speaker 21 (01:16:22):
You got that number for Ray Saint Cloud Roofing.

Speaker 4 (01:16:27):
You did say, Ray, Saint Cloud Sank Cloud, Ray, Saint Claire.

Speaker 5 (01:16:30):
Yeah, yeah, you go it is. It's race any mistakes, Tony, Yeah,
it's the race Saint Claire Roofing Hotline. Yeah, and we're
very appreciative of the race. Aint Claire Roofing Hotline.

Speaker 4 (01:16:39):
Phone number is five one, three, seven four nine, fifteen
thirty four, the Race Saint Claire Hotline. If you want
to call him, be a part of it, Austin, Tony,
how you doing so? I saw Bryan mount Milford today.

Speaker 5 (01:16:55):
Sounds like he's walking out.

Speaker 4 (01:16:57):
Nikki Lodolo having a great game.

Speaker 5 (01:16:59):
To Why would we say that already mustered up two
hits and run up If they happen to lose this game,
do you think they should still buy or sell? I'm
always I'm always gonna say bye until like you are
just so far out of it that it doesn't make sense.
I mean, what do they They enter today three and

(01:17:23):
a half out of the wild card, So that's a
that's a good two series stretch and you're right back
into it. I would still buy.

Speaker 4 (01:17:30):
I agree, wrap it in Natty out here and sunny
hots on it.

Speaker 6 (01:17:33):
What come on back?

Speaker 5 (01:17:35):
What up addie?

Speaker 6 (01:17:36):
Yo?

Speaker 15 (01:17:37):
I'm trying to get this talk back in because I'm
at work, trying to sneak it in as fast as possibly.

Speaker 5 (01:17:41):
Reds don't get sweat hurting my feeling.

Speaker 7 (01:17:44):
But digit job, he got us to the football season,
and uh, far as the Bengals, Yo, Trey, I feel you, brother,
I feel you gotta you gotta do what you gotta do.

Speaker 5 (01:17:53):
Man.

Speaker 15 (01:17:53):
Far as the Stewart talk, I'm done with it, fire agent, bruh,
it is what it is.

Speaker 5 (01:17:59):
M Yeah, Shamar Stewart's Agent's gotta go.

Speaker 4 (01:18:03):
I agree.

Speaker 5 (01:18:04):
I don't drive, I don't. I don't dive as much
into it because I don't know the exact language and
the exact details. But it feels like there's a track
record with this agent that's not the best.

Speaker 4 (01:18:13):
Correct. What was our last one.

Speaker 5 (01:18:15):
Where are the people that are in Shamar's ear? You know,
Joe Shamar at one point said that he's you know,
he he has the support of all the team. Remember
when he said that, Does he still have the support
of everyone now that he's not here?

Speaker 4 (01:18:26):
Good question.

Speaker 5 (01:18:26):
I would like to know that. If you could pick
any talkbacker that you know for a fact, where's Hey Dudes?
Who would it be? I think George from the Valleys
of Hey Dude.

Speaker 4 (01:18:36):
G Yeah, and they're kind of dirty there. Although I
shouldn't be mean to George, He's been nice to me lately.

Speaker 5 (01:18:41):
I've just never seen a pair of the Hey dudes
and been like, man, those are it? I get the
I get the functionality aspect.

Speaker 4 (01:18:48):
Yeah, I haven't either, And I don't know if it's
just because I know the barefoot at the beach. I
know they wouldn't look good on me, So I don't
know if that's part of it. What a time of
all the talkbackers that definitely wear them though, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:19:03):
There's got to be one out there that you know
every day is rock and hay dude.

Speaker 4 (01:19:06):
Yeah, it'll come to me.

Speaker 5 (01:19:07):
Yeah, think about it.

Speaker 4 (01:19:09):
I feel like Kevin in Northern Kentucky.

Speaker 5 (01:19:11):
You think he's a hey dude guy, you.

Speaker 4 (01:19:12):
Might slip those bad boys on.

Speaker 5 (01:19:14):
Just slide them on over the skyline, sheer, sheer comfort.

Speaker 4 (01:19:17):
I bet he had some hay dudes on down at
in Gallinburg.

Speaker 5 (01:19:20):
Oh, man, man, oh man. I will say this because
we we thank our friends here in our number two
of Sinti shirts Josh Needs a part of Santi shirts.
I listened to two different Josh Needs specials on the
way back yesterday that that covered like an hour and
forty five minutes of the drive and they were fantastic And.

Speaker 4 (01:19:38):
You can listen with the kids in the car.

Speaker 5 (01:19:40):
Yeah, well, I didn't have the kids in the car.
What I made the drive back solo yesterday?

Speaker 4 (01:19:45):
You put them on a plane.

Speaker 5 (01:19:46):
I left man and the kids down there. Oh did
she really left them at the beach for in a
couple of days?

Speaker 6 (01:19:51):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (01:19:52):
Let me tell you this, because let's let's do this
at the start of hour three, because I'd like to
talk about just the journey down, in the journey back
of really what took place. But before we break, let
me make sure I do this right Austin, because I'm
down here live at Bengals training camp that is, of course,
thanks to our friends at AE Dorn Window. Also thanks

missed any major injury news from the Cincinnati Reds Austin.
I'm just reading this injury report that Yeah, Carson Spires
underwent an MRI that revealed ligament issues.

Speaker 4 (01:21:53):
Uh, that's the first I've heard of that. I was
gonna say that. The big news yesterday was that Rhet
Louder will not pitch again in twenty twenty five. And
then earlier today the Reds announced that they have sent
Hunter on a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League.
So basically, today starts his clock and he's expected to
pitch I think again today and then go to Arizona

(01:22:16):
after the Earth.

Speaker 5 (01:22:16):
Janjebo has started playing catch and Waite Miley is playing
catch and could return maybe at some point in twenty
twenty five.

Speaker 4 (01:22:23):
What was the no hold on? What was the details
on Carson Spires?

Speaker 5 (01:22:25):
So all I'm reading. I went to the Reds page
on ESPN and it says MLB dot com is reporting
that Carson Spires underwent an MRI on Monday that revealed
ligament issues.

Speaker 4 (01:22:37):
That's not good.

Speaker 5 (01:22:38):
That is never good. For what it's worth, the hometown team,
the Cincinnati Reds, are in action right now in the
bottom of the seventh in Washington. They're looking Austin to
remain the only team in baseball that has not been
swept in a series. They lead it one to nothing,
two outs in the bottom of the seventh. Nicolodolo is
still on the mound for the Cincinnati red.

Speaker 4 (01:23:01):
Just seventy eight pitches for lo Dolo so far. This
has been a almost through seven. Holy cow, been a great,
great outing.

Speaker 5 (01:23:08):
Unbelievable. All right, we will put a ball on our
number two next on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.
Right here from the home of the Bengals on ESPN

at AE Door and Window for helping make this possible.
Also thanks to the I know MO mentioned it. The
hospitality has already been amazing where we're able to set
up the views and the access that we're being given

(01:24:10):
by the Bengals. This obviously couldn't happen without them, so
we appreciate them. Also thought it was good to highlight
the players as well. I know it's day one of
training camp. The amount of players that spent ten twenty
thirty minutes on the field afterwards signing autographs for all
the fans that came down was really really cool to see.
So shout out to to everyone making this possible. On

(01:24:31):
day one of training camp. We still have one hour
left to go. We'll dive into what Joe Burrow had
to say. We'll talk a little bit about what's going
on with the team and I look forward on the
Cincinnati Bengals as the season now rapidly approaches. This and
more on the Home of the Bengals. Next the ESPN
fifteen to thirty Cincinnati Sports.

Speaker 2 (01:24:50):

(01:25:34):
sell the best in service. The rest special thanks as
well to Adam Weber for sponsoring this broadcast at Bengals
training camp and all his continued support of the Bengals
all these many years. I want to also mention Austin
that in our number three here, we will open up
the Ray Saint Clair Roofing hotline. If you want to

(01:25:54):
call in five one, three, seven, four, nine, fifteen thirty.
We'll take some of your calls. We'll talk to some
Cincinnati Bengals, will break down what Joe Burrow had to
say about day one of Bengals training camp. According to
Joe Burrow, the defense won the day today. But I
did want to mention Austin. I drove back from CS
to Key yesterday solo. I did not drive down there. Solo.

(01:26:17):
I decided that it was best for me to drive
and the kids can hop on a plane along with
Mayor the way down there. And this is the second
time I've made this mistake.

Speaker 4 (01:26:28):
Austin, how long is the drive?

Speaker 5 (01:26:31):
Fourteen fifteen hours? So the way down there, we made
the decision again, let's keep the kids awake and let's
leave it like nine or ten. Let's drive throughout the
night right, get down there, kids sleep throughout the night.
We can pump out the drive overnight and then we're
good to go. Sure, we got probably five hours into

(01:26:51):
the drive down. Middle of the night. I had just
switched over. Mayor was driving, so I just switched over
to drive. So I took a five hour energy. Okay,
all right, I'm like, I got this next shift. I'm
gonna be driving till the sun comes up. I'm gonna
pop this five hour energy.

Speaker 4 (01:27:06):
Sure.

Speaker 5 (01:27:06):
No less than five minutes later, all hell broke loose
in the backseat. Oh no, And I'm not just talking
about you. I'm talking about the type of screaming that
was uncontrollable. You could not do anything for these kids.
And once one starts, they're all gonna start. So Mayor
at one point she's like, I can't do this. So

(01:27:27):
we decided Austin that we would stop at a hotel
on the way down, which to me felt like giving up. Yeah.
Not to mention it was four five in the morning,
so you had to pay for a hotel and we
essentially stayed for four hours? How many How yes, you
didn't sleep in the hotel. I was on a five
hour energy correct, I was itching?

Speaker 4 (01:27:44):
How much longer did you have on the drive. We
were only five hours in, oh, so you still had
ten eight nine, ten hours. Yeah, So we made the
decision to stop. We got down there the next day
and it was great. The vacation itself was fantastic, but
as we were getting ready to leave, and as you
get older, like I remember growing up, we would go

(01:28:05):
on trips and we would drive, and I would always remember,
like my dad on like the last day of vacation,
he would be like edgy and he'd be in a
bad moon.

Speaker 5 (01:28:13):
I was like, why is he doing that? Now? I
know because when you got to drive back, that last
day of vacation stinks because all you think about is
what's coming up. Yeah, you think about that drive back home.
But I had other family that was able to go.
They had they were staying at different places, and a
couple of them flew down and we found out that
they had a flight going back and they still had
their place down there. So I told him, I said, look,

(01:28:35):
you can stay here for essentially almost three extra days
with the kids who were having a great time, and
then we'll just look at these flights and get you
a flight back and I'll handle the drive.

Speaker 6 (01:28:45):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (01:28:46):
So that's what we did. I I will say this,
I'm not one for long car rides. H outside of
the early start of the ride, I didn't mind it.
I actually got a ton of work done. Listen to
a bunch of podcasts.

Speaker 4 (01:28:57):
Where you got on done while you were driving.

Speaker 5 (01:29:00):
Everything I needed to catch up on. And as it
relates to the Bengals, I made some call self, got
a lot done on the way back. Well, good for
you solo the solo drive back, it's never a good thing.
And you passed Trey Hendrickson on the way, Yeah, we

(01:29:20):
exchanged pleasantries. I took a photo as I was leaving.
He took one as he was getting into Florida. So
I again, I wasn't plugged in start to finish. Every
day a vacation. I I tried to spend time with
the family to unplug to It felt to me, based
on what I was understanding, that things were turning in

(01:29:41):
the right direction with Trey Hendrickson. Sure, what went wrong?

Speaker 4 (01:29:46):
It's a great question. I feel like.

Speaker 5 (01:29:48):
From Mock Turtle Soup to yesterday, what went wrong?

Speaker 4 (01:29:51):
I feel like they got to the total number and
maybe the years that everybody wanted, but it and then
it was, well, if we're gonna give you the extra year,
we're not going to guarantee this much money. I think
that's what it was. I think it came down to
the guarantees beyond year one, which Trey has signed multiple

(01:30:15):
of those deals in the past, and so the Bengals
are like, well, why wouldn't you do that again? And
if we're going to give you all this money altogether,
then you'll be fine. Yeah, but if you have a
multi year deal that for a player of Trey's age,
only has guarantees in year one, well then it's pretty
much a one year deal. Yeah, if there are ways

(01:30:38):
for the team to get out of that, and I
think that's where Trey was at.

Speaker 5 (01:30:42):
How much of obviously in the last week or so TJ.
Watt has signed his deal. Do you think any of
that plays into now the side of Trey Hendrickson.

Speaker 4 (01:30:53):
I think it helped them get to three years, That's
my guess, because I think the Bengals are like maybe
saying one or two years, and then the Steelers saying, hey,
we're giving a thirty year old a three year extension.
Then I think it maybe helped the Bengals get to
that third year to the point where maybe it felt like, okay,
maybe we're getting close here, and that's where the optimism

(01:31:15):
came from. But the guarantees where it fell apart. That's
my guess.

Speaker 5 (01:31:19):
Well, now I wonder going forward, and I mentioned this
a little bit earlier, are Trey Hendrickson and Shamar Stewart
in some way playing off each other?

Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
Yeah, it works. It works for both of.

Speaker 5 (01:31:30):
Them because for Shamar Stewart, as long as Trey Hendrickson's
not here, he probably still feels like he has leverage.
And for Trey Hendrickson his campus saying well, you directed
this guy in the first round and he's not practicing,
you don't have an answer at defensive end. You better
pay me what I need. Correct Both of those things,
I feel like play off of each other. And again

(01:31:50):
you put yourself into the spot. But it's hard now
because again, now this is about the season. It's no
longer the off season. Coaches cannot coach on the field
at one pace and then hold someone's hand on the
other side. For Shamar Stewart to say, okay, let's get
you caught up to speed. If you're the Bengals, now,
if you're this coaching staff, you're operating with who's here.

(01:32:12):
You're building game plans and depth charts based on who's here.
The front office is going to continue to navigate that.
But this and I think that's why today it was
a point to not not talk about it. We've talked
enough about Trey Hendrickson, we talked enough about Shamar Stewart.
Now is about talking about who's here and how this
team currently constructed can go and win a Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (01:32:34):
Yeah, and you know, listen, as much of those things
are probably detrimental to the team's long term hopes of
actually winning the Super Bowl, you can at least in
the meantime assess and analyze and figure out what do
they have until those guys get here? And that, to

(01:32:57):
me is what the story of training camp is all about.
You know, it's gonna be about who is Miles Murphy,
Who is Joseph Osai? How does this defensive line take
a step forward this year? Does Chris Jenkins actually have
that jump from year one to year two that we've
seen other guys in the past. Can bj Hill play
at the same level that we've seen him play at

(01:33:19):
the past in the past, and at times last season
as well, and can they kind of replace those guys
in the aggregate until they're ready to get here, And
can that have a long term benefit or be helpful
in the long term to this team, is what I
would want to know, and I think we'll figure that

(01:33:39):
out between now.

Speaker 5 (01:33:40):
I'm going to start hearing the name Cam Sample, Isaiah Thomas,
Cedric Johnson, Raymond Johnson. Those are also names on the
back end of the depth chart that if two other
players on the defensive line are getting here, they're going
to get more reps. But we tied this into al
Golden you know. One of the things I was fascinated
to see because every converse we've always had about Trey

(01:34:01):
Hendrickson Austin is well, he's too much of a one
trick pony, you know, Miles Garrett, TJ. Watt, Micah Parsons.
They can go left side, right side, they line up inside, outside,
they stand up at times, they drop into coverage. A
lot of TJ or a lot of Trey Hendrickson's game
is what I'm gonna line up in the same spot
and I'm gonna get after the quarterback, not someone who

(01:34:21):
excels against the run. I wanted to see him on
the field with al Golden and seeing, okay, is Trey
moving around it all? Is he inside? Is he outside?
Is is he going to be used in that sense?
Because that probably goes into a little bit more of Okay,
if if we're gonna pay you this money, what are
you comfortable doing in this system?

Speaker 3 (01:34:39):
Right?

Speaker 5 (01:34:40):
What are you comfortable doing in this scheme? And does
that fit our golden scheme? If Trey Hendrickson is not
willing to move around, and if that was the case,
then maybe you should have moved him in the offseason
instead of the spot that you're in now with him.
The good is from today that Joe Burrow, within five

(01:35:00):
minutes of practice starting today, completed a pass to Jamar
Chas and t Higgins. How many times did that happen
in training camp last year?

Speaker 4 (01:35:07):
Not once?

Speaker 5 (01:35:09):
To Jamaar Perro. That is refreshing to see Jermaine Burton
running around looking good, is impressive to see Mike Kasicki
it to me is just such a freak of nature
when you see him running routes like wide receivers and
the catches that he's able to make and and his
catch radius. But according to Joe Burrow, the defense one

(01:35:31):
day one of training camp. Yeah, now it's hard and
shout out. Charlie Gouldzman tweeted out earlier that from a
non padded practice standpoint, he thought this was the most
physical he's seen from the Bengals from training camp. Now, again,
it's hard to tell in the run game when you're
in a team setting because you can't tackle, and you're
also not cutting anyone. You're not trying to pancake anyone.

(01:35:53):
It's not as physical on the line, so it is
hard to navigate that side of things. But if Joe
Burrow is up there saying, hey, day one, the defense
beat us, and we're talking about how good this offense is,
then that should at least be a feather in the
cap through one day of what Al Golden is able
to do on this defense.

Speaker 4 (01:36:11):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 5 (01:36:12):
Joe has asked the question, how many safety blitzes do
you see on day one of training camp. It's probably
not a lot. Yeah, and they're already running some exotics.
So that's good to hear from a defensive standpoint.

Speaker 4 (01:36:23):
I think that's a good thing for the offense too,
because all off season they've kind of been the umble pie.
Well maybe that, but like everyone's just assumed that they're
going to come in and hit the ground running, and
maybe it's like to maybe a few of them thought
that too. It's like, all right, everybody's back, We're good.
And then you go out there and you get your
butt kicked and you're like, oh crap, all right, let's

(01:36:45):
focus up here, you know, let's pick up these blitzes,
let's know where our hot is, let's you know, read
the coverage and key in this. And like, obviously it's
really really early, but I think it can be a
good thing that the offense gets punched in the mouth
on day one by the defense. I don't think that's
a bad thing.

Speaker 5 (01:37:00):
Yeah, and I do think and we played an hour two.
I thought the tone of Joe Burrow was specific in
a way of kind of setting a tone for camp.
He was not very much. He wasn't loose up there,
he wasn't like that felt like a locked in and
serious Joe Burrow.

Speaker 4 (01:37:17):
Do you feel like based off of the practice that
you saw, I mean, I know, I think you have
a little bit of a different opinion than Charlie. Do
you feel like a tone was set because we kind
of thought it would be country club and they come
out there and they stretch, and they're there for an
hour and they go. But they were out there longer
than an hour.

Speaker 5 (01:37:33):
Yeah, they were out here longer than they normally are.

Speaker 4 (01:37:35):
They were up there all the way up until really
the end slotted end time of practice.

Speaker 5 (01:37:39):
Yeah, I do now. I think it was interesting because
we were kind of joking before we came on air
at ten that practice was supposed to start at ten.
I think Joe and Zach Taylor was still talking, so
they did get a little bit of a later start,
but you know, it wasn't from an urgency standpoint, a
fast paced practice. They mosied around a little bit, but
I thought in the work they did it looked clay.

(01:38:00):
It looked physical, as physical as you can do in
a setting like this. But in these first few practices,
I want to see seven on seven, I want to
see one on ones. I want to see things like that.
And it's harder for me to take away anything from
a team setting, just based on things that Joe Burrow
outlined of you know, you know you're not gonna get hit,

(01:38:22):
you're not worried about who's rushing. The defensive line's gonna stop.
Any free rusher is gonna stop. So there's a different
mindset that you have when when you are the quarterback
in a practice compared to a live setting. But I
do think it was it was more physical than I
had imagined it was going to be. They practiced longer
than I thought they would, and I thought, overall, a

(01:38:42):
good day of work for practice number one for the
Cincinnati Bengals. We'll dive into a little bit more of
what Joe Burrow had to say when we come back.
We'll also open up our phone lines Austin thanks to
the Race Saint Claire Roofing Hotline. They are your homes

Speaker 5 (01:39:26):
Welcome Back sixty three to sixty ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati
Sports Station. In the home of the Bengals on ESPN
fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 28 (01:39:35):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (01:39:36):
For the first time today Austin, we have a chance
to go to the Ray Saint Clair Roofing Hotline. They
are your homes trusted problem solver. Who do we got on?
Hold Ton? This is our guy, Maso. Oh Mayso is
Maso on the line.

Speaker 22 (01:39:51):
Welcome back tone.

Speaker 5 (01:39:52):
How you doing, buddy, I'm great. I thought maybe you'd
get get the grass cut for me while I was gone,
but I appreciate you not helping.

Speaker 22 (01:40:00):
No, yeah, you know, I got my lawn. Boy that
does that? Your yard's too small?

Speaker 5 (01:40:05):
I thought over there.

Speaker 22 (01:40:09):
Anyway, I see what you did. You know, leave Mayor
and the kids down there so you get to come
home to an empty house, decompressed from vacation, because we
know with little ones now, it's really not a vacation.

Speaker 5 (01:40:22):
I was. I gave, I paid that, I gave the
sacrifice yesterday. I made the drive home so they can
have more vacation.

Speaker 22 (01:40:29):
That's funny, man. I heard your I heard your story,
you know about the drive down and kids going nuts
and all that. So It got me thinking it must
be anybody traveling to that area of Florida, whether you
fly or drive, because me and my wife had a
doozy of a flight down there. Start. Oh yeah, flight.

(01:40:53):
It started out you know here, real quick, started out hot.
We left the stroller that we wanted to bring, you know,
for the kids in the airport, and we're about a
quarter of the way down to the airport. We're like, nope,
can't turn around and get it. Got to make the flight.
As we're waiting in line to check our bags, we

(01:41:13):
get a text that our flight's delayed. Oh no, so
we we could have went back and got the damn
stroller instead, you know whatever, We're stuck. It is what
it is. So we check our bags. Everything's good. Our
flight was supposed to leave at six thirty pm because
we wanted the kids to get their nap then right

(01:41:34):
before we left, so they weren't hellions on the plane. Well,
long story short, we didn't leave CVG till nine to
thirty three hour delay. Ye both to land and you
know Anna Maria at nine Yeah, at nine thirty when
we left CVG. So we landed at Sarasota Airport at

(01:41:58):
about eleven eleven thirty. Then you know, I'm I'm a calm,
calm guy. I don't really get stressed out, especially for
things that you can't control. Like you know, you're get
this fight right, but your flight's are lay. There's nothing
we can do. Like it's out of our hands. It
is what it is. We land, We go to the

(01:42:19):
rental car to get our rental car. Everything's in my
wife's name. He left her purse on the plane. I
lost it. I'm cussing her out, which is not making
anything any better. But the guy, the guy that's working,
he he hears us, you know, going back and forth.
He's like, listen, you go over there, you deal with

(01:42:41):
customer service or whoever, and I'll get you, you know,
because everything was in her name. So we weren't sure
if we were able to get the car, but he
just meeted my license at long story short, we get
to the house at one thirty in the morning, and
my son, who like I said, we wanted to we
got the later flight so our kids could sleep done,

(01:43:02):
was going on no nap, just losing his mind. It
was fricking I was. That was the worst trip ever. So,
like I said, it must be anybody going down to
that area right now. It's because I have problems.

Speaker 5 (01:43:13):
It's brutal. It's brutal, like that crazy. And then and
then you start mentally to affects the trip too, because
you're counting on that full day next ahead. And then
when you get delayed, then you have the reminder of
you essentially lose half day because everyone's got to get
caught up on street because originally we wanted to fly,
but I just I don't trust airlines at this point
that I would have been able to get on a

(01:43:34):
flight yesterday without any delays and make it back today.
So I trust myself exactly.

Speaker 22 (01:43:40):
Yep. Now I hear you there. And that's the thing,
like you said, catching up on the sleep kids are
in a different area, they're not even like I said,
it kind of set the trip kind of back because
they weren't sleeping anyway, because it was a whole new,
new place. But anyway, it was all good. We survived
and here we are, so I'm glad. Yeah, yeah, you too.

(01:44:02):
Good to see you back and I look forward to
getting in touch with you and Addie. I don't know
if he's relayed this message, but about a little segment
I could help you guys out with for twenty six days.

Speaker 4 (01:44:14):
I didn't know, why don't you pitch it to Tony
real quick MASA.

Speaker 22 (01:44:18):
Okay, So since it's kind of, you know, dead time
right before football season, what I was gonna do was
kind of give you guys two names. I'll run through
the alphabet, and you guys would kind of go back
and forth or debate on, you know, for example, like
I said last a couple of days ago, who do

(01:44:41):
you hate more, Aaron Rodgers or Aaron Donald? Okay, obviously
Aaron Donald being you know, breaking the Bengals Super Bowl
thing up. And Aaron Rodgers he kind of is goofy
with the media and now he played for Pittsburgh, so
that gives him another reason I kind of hate him too.
So anyway, yeah, I'd run through the alphabet. I got

(01:45:02):
already got my list down with everybody's you know name,
same names. So if you and Addie are willing, yeah,
like I said, maybe maybe we can make that happen.

Speaker 4 (01:45:13):
Everybody has the same first name. Yes, oh wow, Okay.

Speaker 5 (01:45:18):
Well to me, number one's easy as I I like
it a lot. I like Rogers. But if Aaron Donald's
not around. The Bengals probably win.

Speaker 4 (01:45:26):
The Super Bowl, correct, So I agree with that.

Speaker 5 (01:45:28):
I'll take Aaron Donald easily on that one.

Speaker 22 (01:45:31):
Okay, I'm with you on that.

Speaker 5 (01:45:33):
Yep, that's what I had a lot of time on vacation.
If you came up with twenty six matching first name, we.

Speaker 4 (01:45:38):
Had a three hour flight delay exactly.

Speaker 22 (01:45:41):
Hey, a lot of time on my hands. And like
I told Addie, I know I'm the new self and
post president. I got to start giving you guys content,
making the show better. I'm trying to do. You know,
I'm doing more in this past two weeks than Johnny
from moult Healthy has in two years. Wow, like Diesel
pez Man hard to argue anyway. Anyway, Yeah, if you

(01:46:03):
guys are up and willing to do that. Uh, Like
I said, well, we can text after this and figure
out the logistics of it, because kind of what I
was thinking. I know, you guys do your call, your
your like refresher of the sports stories at noon, you know,
to start the show. But then if I chimed in
at twelve fifteen or whenever, you know, after the first break,

(01:46:27):
and then the talkbackers and callers, they could chime in
and give their opinions throughout the show. But that's my theory.
That's what I'm thinking. You guys can talk about it.

Speaker 5 (01:46:37):
I love it, all right, I see you guys. But
Maso on the race, Saint Claire roofing hotline.

Speaker 4 (01:46:44):
He wore that hotline out God on the longest phone
calls ever.

Speaker 5 (01:46:48):
Yeah. I mean he's trying to He's given us actual
content here.

Speaker 4 (01:46:51):
Yeah, I told him.

Speaker 5 (01:46:52):
I thought that was sir. I like that.

Speaker 4 (01:46:54):
I thought that was a good idea.

Speaker 5 (01:46:56):
Now Number one's pretty easy that that's Aaron Donald.

Speaker 4 (01:46:59):
First, Well, I think I told me so. What he
should do is that he should have signed one of
us a name, and we have to argue in the
moment for that person, so that you know, we don't
just agree with each other all. I like that, which
I could think of some reasons why I would hate
Aaron Rodgers more than Aaron Donald. I mean, I can

(01:47:20):
at least respect Aaron Donald because he's one of the
greatest players that has ever played professional Football's.

Speaker 5 (01:47:26):
View Jamar Chase running down the field. If Aaron Donald's not.

Speaker 4 (01:47:29):
There, if Alex Kappa was the guard in that game,
did the Bengals win the Super Bowl? Man I believe
he beat Quinton Spain like a drum. Does that sound
right if Alex Kappa, who is a thousand times the

(01:47:50):
player Quinton Spain was saying a lot, if Alex Kappa
was on the field, does the split second that Joe
Burrow needed exist in the Bengals win the Super.

Speaker 5 (01:48:02):
Bowl could be.

Speaker 4 (01:48:03):
If Cody Ford was on the field.

Speaker 5 (01:48:05):
Oh? Absolutely, Yeah, he'll be on the field when you're
at the Dakary deck watching Week one.

Speaker 4 (01:48:10):
No, he won't. By the way, Cody did take first
team reps today in the Bengals offensive line. Dylan Fairchild
was the left guard.

Speaker 5 (01:48:18):
That and I did think it was a little bit interesting.
At one point today Austin Lucas Patrick was working with
the number twos at center.

Speaker 4 (01:48:28):
Yeah, that was part of the conversation. Zach said that
they're going to work him into center, which makes me
kind of wonder about the plan for the rest of
the offensive line. Maybe Matt Lee getting potentially some shot
at snaps at guard because I guess he's put on
a lot of weight. So it's interesting.

Speaker 5 (01:48:45):
Yeah, plenty more to discuss, including that with Joe Burrow
and what he had to say about Day one of
training camp, speaking of training camp. As we're doing this
live here at Bengals training Camp, these special edition of
the Tony and Mo Football Show that happens at tend
to noon. That's thanks to AE Door and Window where
they sell the best in service arrest. Also thanks to

Speaker 2 (01:49:31):
Ky Cincinnati See three sixty continues on ESPN fifteen thirty,
Cincinnati's Sports Station.

Speaker 5 (01:49:43):
Welcome back. This is since E three sixty. It's part
of our ongoing coverage from Cincinnati Bengals training Camp. Thanks
to our friends at AE Door and Window. Thanks here
now our number three of Sincy three to sixty to
Penn Station as well on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station. Awesome,
real quick, we had seventeen eighteen minutes of Joe Burrow

(01:50:03):
audio from post practice today. He mentioned that the defense
won the day. He also did mention that he is
in constant contact with Trey and that he's disappointed a
deal is not done yet. Obviously these deals getting done
sooner rather than later. As a positive. Outside of that,
anything from Joe Burrow that you took extra note of

(01:50:26):
today from what he had.

Speaker 4 (01:50:27):
To say, Yeah, I think the idea that they're going
to continue to play him in preseason and more than
ever in preseason. I think he's got nine total dropbacks
in his career in preseason games, and most of them
are quick short passes, and that there's no throwing restrictions
whatsoever on him on his wrist, on keeping his arm fresh,

(01:50:49):
like that's not something that they're worried about whatsoever. And
I just liked what I heard. I liked the focus.
I liked the way he kind of approached everything. I
guess it was pretty much like pretty run of the mill.

Speaker 5 (01:51:03):
It felt like business as normal.

Speaker 4 (01:51:05):
Yeah, just business as normal.

Speaker 5 (01:51:07):
Like it wasn't as light. I mean, Dan Horde made
the question about his hair and you know, different years,
but it felt like a quarterback that's locked in and
ready to go. I wonder at this point as well,
because he mentioned, you know, and it's day one, so
Joe's always going to do a great job and credit
Al Golden and credit the defense. I wonder if we're

(01:51:27):
getting to the point in Joe Burrow's career from a
veteran quarterback standpoint, is there anything he could still see
that that confuses him or is he kind of crossed
that threshold where he has seen everything now defenses that
hide it better and he gave credit to the defense today,
but at least when things are happening, I don't feel
like there's many things out there left that Joe Burrow
hasn't seen before, right, And I think that goes a

(01:51:50):
long way from what you can do now with a
quarterback and you know, expanding the playbook with Dan Pitcher
and Zach Taylor. He is comfortable everything he's doing. He
is understanding of what they're trying to do. And it's
not like we could talk about the offensive line. It's
not like they're also trying to incorporate some new skill

(01:52:10):
players as well now secondary skill players. Yes, does does
Joe Burrow have the trust in Jermaine Burton that's a
question that can be answered. What's the running back room
look like after Chase Brown? But for the most part,
are you worried about the timing now that he's gonna
have a whole camp with with Joe and Jamar and
t Higgins and Mike A Seki. No, you feel good

(01:52:32):
about all that? Again, we're not. I didn't once today
analyze the tightness of the spiral or the velocity on
the ball of Joe Burrow, and it was a talking
point all last year. So it just feels like for him,
there are no distractions. This is Joe Burrow reporting the camp.
He's in great physical health, he's in great mental health,

(01:52:55):
and he's just ready to go and put these slow
starts behind him. That's what I took away from today.

Speaker 4 (01:53:00):
Say, I did see the clip of him where like
none of the receivers were open and he kind of
ran to his left and then kind of did a
little bit of like a backstep in and I was
that gave me PTSD from the calf injury a couple
of years ago. Yeah, Like, do you remember that video
one where he's what he runs off and then like
all of a sudden pulls up. I was thinking, all right,
jojo jojo jo jojo Day one. Let's he's into it

(01:53:23):
a little bit. You can just throw that bad boy away.
We don't have to make any big plays right now.
Uh So I wonder if that's something he'll have to
work on. He talked about that a lot last year.
Is like knowing his body and knowing when he needs
to rest. But I hope that going into this year
he looks at it and says, I have a clean slate,
have all my receivers, I'm fully healthy. That he does

(01:53:43):
enough to get ready for week one, but doesn't overdo
it because it is a long it's a grind. It's
now through February. If everything goes right.

Speaker 5 (01:53:52):
Yeah we are. Uh, we're back on the race. Saint
Clair Roofing Hotline, your homes trusted problem Solver. Uh, let's
go to drill. What's up Drill?

Speaker 21 (01:54:05):
Hello, Tony, welcome back from the Sunshine State Austin. Thanks
for holding down you the great job. I was down
at practice today. I was actually behind you guys for
a little bit and Yoshawash came over just wanted to
highlight a few things. One I told him, I said,
you might have the biggest quads I've ever seen. They

(01:54:28):
were literally popping out of his pants. They were insane.
I took a photo and I checked it out later.
I was like, congratulations on the workout. I mean, that
guy's putting in time. And it's not that he's just
saying it. His body showed it.

Speaker 5 (01:54:42):
I told him that when practice was warming up, I'm like, man,
Yoshi vas looks huge, like not put on excessive weight huge,
but like muscle wise, he looks in great shape.

Speaker 21 (01:54:54):
Yeah, kudos to his trainer and staff, and.

Speaker 5 (01:54:57):
Kudos to him too, because he essentially had to be
pulled off the practice field. He was behind us for
like thirty minutes after practice ended, signing autographs, well beyond
what anyone else was doing.

Speaker 21 (01:55:09):
Yeah, he's a class act. I mean he took the
time to like talk to people too. He's just a
really good person. And then the second thing was I
had seen memes from Afar, but never up close. And
if you've ever if you've ever seen a massive for
the first time in your lives, and you're like, holy hell,

(01:55:30):
I never even knew dogs got that big.

Speaker 5 (01:55:32):
Yeah, that's kind of.

Speaker 21 (01:55:33):
What you think with mens in the human aspect. And
he kind of does that thing where he puts his
helmet like on the top of his head and somehow
even makes them look bigger, I mean, just in person,
insanely huge. And then the third thing was I saw
Burrow as some beautiful ball today. I mean, he was
zipping it across the field.

Speaker 22 (01:55:51):
It looked like.

Speaker 21 (01:55:53):
He is hitting the ground like MVP Joe at the
beginning to see it long last knock on wood. Everything
you can find around you that that that's the case.
But man, I just I was getting chilled down there.
I would I'm I'm I'm ready to go.

Speaker 5 (01:56:11):
It's hard because you uh, Drew, thank you for the
call as well. Man, we appreciate it. It's it's hard
because you want to table it because you know there's
still such a long way to the season. But it's
hard not to get excited when you see the velocity
in the zip on the passes and Jamar out here
catching passes, t Higgins out here catching passes. There there
was a point Austin they were signing autographs and obviously

(01:56:33):
you know Scott Peters has been a coach in the
NFL now for it's not his first year coaching in
the NFL. And he was out there with his family
and even like his two kids were in all of
how big Mims was like, it's it's one of those players.
I always mentioned it. On the opposite side with Joonah Williams,
like you would come down to a practice and if
you didn't know what position the guy was playing, you

(01:56:54):
would be like, there's no way that that guy is
a tackle. Like Jonah Williams was good, he was solid.
He just didn't look like it. You can't mistake Marius
Mems Like, yep, that's Memes. He's a tackle in the NFL.
Orlando Brown junior, that's a tackle in the NFL. And
that was what was on full display today. That was
Drew calling in from the Ray Saint Clair Roofing Hotline.

(01:57:19):
We thank them. We thank our friends at Oakley Green,
We thank our friends at Cincinnati Tax Resolution, AE, Dorian
Window and Airport Painting Body. Thank you to them. Thank
you for listening. Do we have Moagar for quick hits today?

Speaker 4 (01:57:35):
I have no idea.

Speaker 5 (01:57:36):
We'll see if mos here with us when we get back.
As we get ready to pass the torch to the
Mowager Show as part of the ongoing coverage of Bengals
training camp. It's right here on ESPN fifteen thirty, the
home of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 2 (01:57:48):
In fifteen thirty, Cincinnati's sports station. It's time for Cincy
three sixty quick hits on ESPN fifteenth.

Speaker 5 (01:57:56):
Yes, welcome back since he three to sixty. Thanks to
our friends at AE Door and Window. They sell the
best and service. The rest. Bengals training camp coverage does
not stop now. It's going to continue from three to
six as well. Right on the Mowagger Show. Moe's joining
us now, Mo, I haven't talked to you forever. Man,
How are things going? What's up?

Speaker 1 (01:58:14):
Does that guy still cutting the grass? What is that
noise behind you?

Speaker 5 (01:58:18):
That's that is a generator?

Speaker 1 (01:58:21):
Okay, gotcha? Okay, what's going on right now? Down there
a Bengals training camp.

Speaker 5 (01:58:27):
The last remaining grounds crew member just came up and asked, uh,
if we would be done anytime soon? So I'm wondering
at this point, Mo, if they're waiting for us to
move this table so they can repair the divots that
were left under the table as well.

Speaker 1 (01:58:40):
I guess so, well, Tis yeah, No, I mean there's
you know, you've been there since ten o'clock this morning, which,
let's be honest, feels like forever ago.

Speaker 5 (01:58:48):
You know, the the Bengals have started training camp. It's
never felt more like football season. And yet Nicklodolo said,
not so fast, my friend.

Speaker 1 (01:58:58):
Nicolo complete e r in his last seven starts, right,
trade value has never been higher. So you know, I mean,
you know what they do, right, They lose a couple
of the seasons on the break, and then then they
they go out there and win a couple of ball games,
and we we jump back on board, and then they
lose a couple of ball games. This is what they

(01:59:19):
have done all season long. I guess I want to
know how's that going to change? Here's what I want
to know, Tony, correct me if I'm wrong. Team captains
are voted on by their teammates.

Speaker 5 (01:59:30):
Right, that is correct?

Speaker 6 (01:59:31):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:59:32):
Team captains in the NFL are voted on by their teammates.
Trey Hendrickson apparently wants language in his contract that says
he gets to be a team captain.

Speaker 4 (01:59:41):
What this is?

Speaker 5 (01:59:41):
This is? This is killing me? Right?

Speaker 1 (01:59:44):
Is that a thing I read in Diana Russini's piece
she put out yesterday. I verbalized to the Bengals that
I wanted to be a captain to lead a young defense,
and he talked about this as he references his willingness
to take lesson some ways in order to make a
deal done, and he tells the Bengals, I want to
be a captain. Well, I guess I would ask Number one,

(02:00:07):
why haven't you been so far?

Speaker 4 (02:00:08):
Number two? Is that up to Katie Blackburn?

Speaker 1 (02:00:11):
Or is it up to your teammates who last year
named eight team captains and you weren't one of them.

Speaker 4 (02:00:16):
Is he trying to say, I can't be a captain
if I'm not there and you guys won't pay me,
so I'm not there? Could be It's a good question,
I know. He said around the Super Bowl or right
after Sam Hubbard retired that he's like, I want to
fill the shoes of Sam Hubbard.

Speaker 1 (02:00:29):
What does a team captain do besides go out for
the coin toss?

Speaker 5 (02:00:32):
Not much? I mean you, it's honestly, it's it's more
it's not the responsibility that goes with being a team captain.
It's more the respect and the honor that it is
that you're chosen as a captain, which is one of
the leaders of the team. But again to your point,
that's voted on by the team, right, so should maybe
like little league football, high school Charlotte his NFL those

(02:00:55):
are voted on.

Speaker 1 (02:00:56):
So shouldn't this beef be with his teammates? And is
this helping his relationship with his teammates? I don't know
the answer to that, but I think it's it's it's
worth wondering.

Speaker 4 (02:01:06):
He's got a better shot to be a voted team
captain Shamar Stewart or trade. It's pretty closer than you think.

Speaker 1 (02:01:14):
Yeah, that's a good question.

Speaker 6 (02:01:18):
That's a good question.

Speaker 5 (02:01:20):
That's a tough one. What what are you going to
dive into for your extended training camp coverage for the
next three hours?

Speaker 3 (02:01:28):
Mo?

Speaker 5 (02:01:28):
What's coming up on?

Speaker 1 (02:01:29):
We have training camp reports every hour three forty five,
four forty five, and five forty five with a guy
named Tony Pike.

Speaker 4 (02:01:40):
Ridiculous three five, So you have to.

Speaker 1 (02:01:44):
Stay there, tell that ground, you're gonna be there by way,
You're gonna be there till six o'clock telling us what's happening. Uh,
five hours or so after training camp practice ended, So
stand by for that.

Speaker 5 (02:01:57):
Not today, my friend, So, Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:02:00):
Something happened during training camp today? That I think is
very important. We will discuss. Have you guys seen the
new the new Browns helmets sponsored by Dude Wipes.

Speaker 5 (02:02:08):
That's pretty funny. Fall off the raft.

Speaker 1 (02:02:13):
The camera guy fell into the lake. So awesome, just
just absolutely tremendously. I don't know what I'm gonna say
about the Browns new helmets, but I want to say
something because I I like making fun of the Cleveland Browns.
I think the clock is ticking as it relates to
one Bengals player. We'll talk about that.

Speaker 4 (02:02:31):
We'll get to.

Speaker 5 (02:02:32):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:02:33):
I love Will Benson, but are the Reds benching Ken
Griffey Senior in his prime?

Speaker 22 (02:02:40):
Now?

Speaker 1 (02:02:40):
Will Benson almost hit a home run today, almost hit
a home run today and was robbed. But like you
would you would think that, like the Reds are benching
they they acquired Ronald o'coony and they're putting them on
the bench. I look at social media, you would think
they're taking Paul O'Neill in his prime and not playing
him Bruce as an All star they've put on the

(02:03:02):
pine for weeks on end.

Speaker 4 (02:03:04):
What am I missing here?

Speaker 5 (02:03:06):
Yeah, Big Matt, I never.

Speaker 4 (02:03:08):
Understood it either.

Speaker 1 (02:03:10):
I like Will Benson, like easy guy to root for.
Dude doesn't hit consistently.

Speaker 4 (02:03:14):
Sorry, they just keep talking about how he's an unlucky hitter. Well,
after all this time, maybe he just hits into outs.

Speaker 5 (02:03:21):
Could happen to creating your own luck?

Speaker 4 (02:03:23):
Well today he was unlucky, I mean today he was,
but still.

Speaker 5 (02:03:28):
More times than not.

Speaker 4 (02:03:29):
You know what, that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (02:03:31):
But what the Reds is a franchise, will tell you
is they're an unlucky franchise. Oh so shouldn't like Will
Benson be their mascot?

Speaker 22 (02:03:39):
Right?

Speaker 6 (02:03:40):
Should not?

Speaker 4 (02:03:40):
Only he should be the team captain?

Speaker 24 (02:03:42):
Right?

Speaker 6 (02:03:42):
I mean? Good? God?

Speaker 1 (02:03:43):
Like, Well he's we're really unlucky. Just keep waiting for us. Well,
how come they won't let Will Benson do that? Now
I'm on Will Benson's side. I've just done a one
eighty for my topic. How come baseball teams almost never
have captains?

Speaker 4 (02:03:56):
It's a good question because they don't have a coin slip?

Speaker 5 (02:04:00):
Can you imagine, like going forward now, contract negotiations have
to center around if you can be a team captain.

Speaker 1 (02:04:06):
Remember Barry Larkin was a captain, I remember, and they
had he had the captain c on his chest and
he took it off he wasn't very happy, which by
his own admission now he shouldn't have done. I still
have people bring that up to me, like you like Larkin, like, yeah,
my all time favorite player.

Speaker 4 (02:04:22):
Well he took the Sea Office chest like I did.

Speaker 1 (02:04:24):
How about the eighteen seasons of gold Glove caliber shortstop,
the MVP Award, the Silver.

Speaker 4 (02:04:29):
Slugger, how about that he was pretty good? Like he
took the Sea Office chest. So what what does the
captain do? There's no coin flip. They don't go out
there before the tenth inning games a lineup card.

Speaker 1 (02:04:39):
Yeah, they don't even do that. It's the manager, like
the first base coach. Team captain. So we might talk
about team captains today. What I'm getting in my next
contract and I'm named team captain here.

Speaker 5 (02:04:50):
It was the ESPN fifteen thirty captain.

Speaker 4 (02:04:53):
Are you an emotional negotiator? I? Yeah, no, hardlytiable.

Speaker 5 (02:05:00):
What's your strongest negotiating tactics?

Speaker 1 (02:05:02):
My strongest negotiating tactic that I've ever been involved in?

Speaker 4 (02:05:06):
Yeah, I don't know. You say it here.

Speaker 1 (02:05:08):
I don't know that it makes a lot of sense
for me to go into that right now.

Speaker 4 (02:05:12):
I've seen a lot of people kind of killing Mike
Brown for saying Trey Henderson's emotional. Well, yes, we already
knew that. Everybody's known man.

Speaker 1 (02:05:20):
Black out Trey. What is that all about? I mean, like,
there's not a picture where he doesn't like have war
paint on. For some reason, he always looks like he's
about the crow. He always looks like he's about to
like you know, sob, he looks like he just you know,
watched one of those shows my wife likes to watch.
I still am looking at the picture of him here
in studio, still a big bright smile on his SOA's
That's when he wasn't emotional. That's when he was signing

(02:05:41):
the contract that he's going to be asked to play
under this year.

Speaker 5 (02:05:45):
You know, at the core of it as well, was
reasoning that you wanted to make sure your family was
financially secure for their future. You know what. You know
what's not not financially secure when you just give away
thousands or even millions of dollars by not showing up
to do it. You're under contract.

Speaker 4 (02:06:00):
Fifty thousand already today.

Speaker 1 (02:06:02):
I can't imagine the conversation between my wife, So you're
not coming to work tomorrow, No.

Speaker 5 (02:06:07):
You want to drive to Florida.

Speaker 1 (02:06:09):
If you don't go to work tomorrow, you have to
pay them fifty thousand dollars.

Speaker 4 (02:06:12):
Yeah, hey, guess what you're going to work?

Speaker 6 (02:06:15):
Like what?

Speaker 1 (02:06:16):
Trey has talked a lot about about process, and it
seems like they have a great marriage and that's all
well and good. But will does does Trey's wife understand
what's happening here? Every day he doesn't come to work,
he owes the team fifty thousand dollars. I know what
my wife would If I told my wife, Hey, I'm
not going to go to work tomorrow, but I have
to pay them ten dollars, she will go, guess what, Captain,
you're going to work? Okay, big boy, you ain't give

(02:06:39):
him back ten bucks.

Speaker 5 (02:06:40):
Incredible.

Speaker 4 (02:06:41):
I could see iHeart using that strategy to move taking
a day off against watching this guy fall in the
lake with the Browns.

Speaker 6 (02:06:48):
Help.

Speaker 4 (02:06:50):
That's so awesome.

Speaker 5 (02:06:51):
Moe is next. Both appreciate it, man, I'll uh, I'll
talk to you in just a little bit.

Speaker 1 (02:06:56):
Live training camp reports from Bengal's practice.

Speaker 5 (02:07:00):
That's b Ager. This is Cincy three p. Sixty Thanks
to listening. Thanks for listening right here on ESPN fifteen
