Speaker 1 (00:00):
On ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Was looking for mo. He's not here yet, no idea
where mo is. He's on his way. He's on his way.
It's since he three p sixty A service of Penn
station right here on the Home of the Bengals, ESPN
fifteen thirty. It's Cincinnati Sports Station. Uh, let me get
you set for tonight if you're so inclined. Uh, it's
Red's hosting the athletics, and it's Fernando Cruz getting the

(00:23):
ball on the bump to start the game for David
Bell's bunch. Fernando Cruz is going to start tonight's Reds game.
That's pretty much all I got for you, because what
we're about to do is pass a torch. He looks
calling on your hand over the baton in the business,
if you will. As we just you know, come from
the Olympics. It's Moagger who's in here now?

Speaker 3 (00:42):
MO.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
I would imagine that in the last twenty minutes or so,
you've probably added some stuff to talk about on your
show today.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Austin and I just had a nice affair talk show.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah, what do you make mo of?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
You know?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Twenty two hours ago, Zach Taylor saying he's ready for
Jamar Chase to play in week one. He expects him
to practice and everything leading up starting today, and then
he shows up late to practice. He's in street clothes.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
What do you make of this situation?

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Either something's up and Jamar is gonna get a deal
here very soon, or something's up and Jamar just decided
to make his coach look stupid.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Correct.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
I don't know one of the two. It's one of
the two.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
I like to think that they were, you know, getting
a deal done and he was like, oh, I'm late
for practice. You guys, keep up with this. I'm gonna
head out there.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
I don't know that this is It's just it's weird.
I'm exhausted by this. I'll be honest with you, man,
Like I love football. I love football. I love football games.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah, I'm I have.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Maybe this is a sign that I should get out
of the business. I have less and less interest in
this with every passing day.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
This is not interesting. What's more interesting this or Red's athletics?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Okay, this probably there we go A AB broadcast stewed
you right back.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
It's the it's the it's the August and September of
the TBD. Oh, it's TBD, gonna make the Reds Hall
of Fame, TBD, gonna be eligible for a cy young
and look like Jamar Chase is very important, I understand,
But like who among us didn't just roll their eyes
thirty minutes ago when we saw this.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
It just makes it weird. Like you said, it makes
it weird because of how confident it was. As often said,
it was the surest that we've heard Zach Taylor talk
about this situation.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
He said, it's not complicated, no, and then Jamar Chase
went ahead and made it complicated. Correct, that's not cool, Like,
we all love Jamar Chase, but if you've just decided
Zach Taylor has effectively had to speak on your behalf
for the last month and then speaks on your behalf yesterday, Yeah,
and if you just woke up this morning and decided

(02:43):
to not practice and look all, allow for the possibility.
Maybe he's dealing with some discomfort, you know, maybe there
is something beyond what makes the eyes.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
But he just made his coach look like a boob. Yeah,
and that's not cool. Hopefully they're getting a deal done.
If not, this again, it becomes more of a talking
point going forward. Let me ask you one thing, football games.
I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
I just want a football game to talk about Tomorrow.
We do get that tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
And this weekend against thousand. Yeah, let me ask you
one thing. Because of the night college football season preview.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
I know we're pretty much done with the Reds, but
Lance asked this earlier and I thought it interesting. Who
are right now in this constructed roster as it is,
who are pieces you know you can rely on going forward?

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Well it's a good question and it ties into something
that I'm going to talk about today a little bit.
And yeah, the Reds are done. But I think there
are two sort of bubbling issues. One is because the
Pirates took their shortstop and decided to make him a
centerfield er. Now everybody wants that to happen here, which
doesn't make a lot of sense. But I was thinking
about this watching the game last night. For a team

(03:45):
that supposedly has a core, there's a lot of uncertainty, correct, right,
I mean by now, even if you didn't think that
in August or September of twenty twenty four, the Reds
would be trending toward winning the division. In the playoffs.
I think we at least thought you'd have more answers
than questions. I don't think that's the case.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Now.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Some of that's injury related that that goes without saying.
But I think it's fair to ask that question that
at Lance poses and it speaks to what I'm gonna
get to today, which is the uncertainty outweighs the certainty,
which means the players that you're not quite sure about
outweigh the players that you are quite sure about. I mean,
I'll still say, you know, Hunter Green and Nicolodolo and

(04:29):
Andrew Abbott, I'll still I'll still ride or die with
those guys. I'm not going to give up on Graham Ashcraft.
I'll still put a lot of stock on what I
saw from Matt McClain. I'll buy everybody's Ellie Dela Cruz,
who is a shortstop by the way. Yes, I'll buy
the other Ellie Dela Cruz stock. Beyond that, Tyler Stevenson's
had a nice year.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
I like him.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
There are some bit parts that if they come back
as bit parts, like Santiago Espinol or ty France, I'm okay.
But there are there are a lot of positions where
I feel like you have to look at the player
who occupies it and go can we do better? Overwhelmingly
the answer is yes.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
We had a talkbacker today said that he can see
a twenty four and six path down the stretch for
the Reds.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
They're gonna win twenty four thirty games.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Better chance of happening this year, Reds go twenty four
and six down the stretch? Or you see is in
the college footballlayoff? You see is in the college football playoffs?

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Agreed?

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Would he?

Speaker 3 (05:20):
There's a difference between I could see a path and
I'll wager money on it.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Correct, So let's do that. I'll make that pat with you. Yeah,
you go twenty.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Four and six. I don't bet with strangers on the internet, no,
or talkbackers.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Uh, you take twenty four and six. I'll take twenty
three and seven. Yeah, and everything under it.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Who has a stretch of going twenty four and six
over thirty games? First, the Reds are the Bearcats. Well
over the next you know, ten years, the Bearcats. Yeah,
probably Bearcats, but it's going to happen this year. I mean,
like you see, basketball might go twenty four and six. Yeah,
Xavier basketball might go twenty four and six.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Yep, the Reds.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
I hope the Reds go four.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Fernando Cruz and is Splitter from God might go twenty
four and the ball today on the bump Darren Horning Company.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
Wasn't Frankie Muntas supposed to win like twenty four games? No,
he said he was gonna win twenty games. He might
have they pay attention.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Sure, he's been great lately.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Make care Did you see that he was the victim
of one of the worst umpiring games of all time
A day night?

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (06:22):
C B. Buckner. Wow.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Now, Austin, you said, are you going to the game Saturday?

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Uh? Yes, you know you'll see Frankie Muntas, DJ Diesel
after the game. Austin's going to see Shack and montss.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
I think I might do that.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Uh like that story Mode told about the people coming
to the pit Bull concert might show up out about
the seventh inning. I, uh, well, you gotta get there
in the fourth months.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
I think I'm going this Saturday's game for like an
hour and a half. Yeah, there's a show that I'm
going to that has nothing to do with Shack. Oh,
but I I got some time between the UC game
and that show that I might go watch a.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Few your Saturday there you'll be celebrated. You will you
have a cigar if you see beats tousand? Absolutely? Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
I've had a cigar after every Bearcat win since two
thy seventeen.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
What's your favorite day of the week? Moo, my favorite
day of the week. I don't really have one.

Speaker 2 (07:10):

I embrace every day. Every day is unique to me. Amen,
you know I tell you my let's take you. Ask
Tom Brady which one is your favorite super Bowl? He
said the next one? Yeah, So I'll tell him what

Speaker 1 (07:35):
