Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, no one covers the Bengals like ESPN fifteen thirty,

(00:05):
Cincinnati's sports station.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Here we go the Moegar Radio show hosted by not Moegar.
The music said, let you know Chad Brendel filling In,
owner of Bearcat Journal dot com. Here on a wonderful Thursday.

(00:42):
Karen and I are sufficiently full. Tried out a new
spot today, or new to us at least. I like
to like throw some curveballs at Tearing every now and again.
We will go to the same place as often, but
then we'll get on these little stretches where we mixed
it up today young buck DELI. I had a I

(01:03):
split a lunch with with the girlfriend, a Turkey sandwich
on fakasha. That was amazing, the jive turkey, the jive
you know what turkey. And then they had Italian beef
from Chicago style and uh, that was great. I brought Terran,
the Italian beef Terran. It was really good, phenomenal. I'm

(01:23):
not normally like I'm jardon Eira in a jar, not
my jam. I found out today Tarren fresh jardon Eira.
I ate, I didn't. I didn't put a whole lot
on my sandwich. I just ate it with a fork outstanding,
so kudos to them. Good spot down in o tr

(01:45):
very good Tarran. I almost forgot that I had radio. Today.
Would have been great new new UH boss in town today,
I think for the first time, and Chad forgets the
radio show. That would have been the probably the end
of my fill in career. My dad saved me. My

(02:07):
dad called me last night. He said, you need me
to pick the kid up from school tomorrow. I'm like, no,
He's like, you got radio. I'm like, I don't think
I do. He said, Mo, things you do?

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Oh? The pop's looking looking.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Out, shout out. Pops saved me. I Moe was sending
me emails today to you know, on the on the
guests of the show. I would have figured it out
at not like nine thirty ten o'clock this morning, but
then it would have been real panic mode. At least
I had a little bit of warning last night before
bet so I've had some time. I was able to

(02:41):
uh to work things out. But some great stuff today.
Lee Sterling will be on to get us ready for
the weekend. If you like to sprinkle, sprinkle, drip drip
a little bit on on the games, we'll talk to
Dan Klaskins and get a fantasy update. As we we
get to the middle of the season, you're starting to

(03:02):
make a playoff push, figuring out if your team is
good or if your team stinks and you need to
start trading some pieces. Kegan Nickoson joins us Keegan is
on a fantastic voyage. I sent him to Kansas City
for Basketball media Day yesterday. Tomorrow he'll be in Fayetteville

(03:23):
for UCE Arkansas exhibition game at eight o'clock, and then
after that game, Taren, he's gonna drive back to Cincinnati
and planning on being here for the UC Baylor homecoming
till I'm too old for that anymore. God bless Keigan.

(03:43):
I mean, back in the day, that would have been
my jam, Like I would have been so excited. Get
to go to basketball media Day, I get to go
to Fayetteville to watch an Arkansas game against the Bearcats,
and then back here for homecoming like I would have
been all about it. No, sir, I'm too old for that.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
He's eating good on those, uh these trips.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
He said. He packed a bunch of Deli sandwiches. I
don't know, I asked him. If he was going to
Joe's barbecue in Kansas City. He said no, he was
having some some Deli sandwiches. I don't know. I don't know.
You would think like today or tomorrow, he's got to
get something good while he's in Feyanville saying he's in Arkansas.

(04:27):
Do you have to send him extra money to get
something good to eat tonight?

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Or maybe he's just being cheap on this one and.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
He's trying to be cheap on this one. He's trying
to be but.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Best believe, I know he got he got Joe So
I was in.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Kansas City, he said he didn't. He said he wasn't
going to get it.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Wow, as much as he talked about that two years ago, when.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
We want, I know, well, he's been to Kansas City
a lot now, right, so I guess he's tired of Joe's.
But there's also a Gusses, Like it's not the Memphis Gusses,
but there's also Augusses. So we'll talk to Keegan about
you see, and then jefff car is going to join
us to get a little red Just sprinkle a little

(05:08):
reds in, toss a little reds in. But for the
most part today, we'll be talking Bengals and Bearcats. Bengals
a very important one Sunday. You have clawed your way
back into the conversation at three and four with the
win last night or the win last week, excuse me

(05:29):
a week, aldg go tonight over Pittsburgh. You're three and four.
You're not all the way back in it, but like
you're back in the conversation at least like you can
see it, especially in a division where it doesn't feel
like Pittsburgh's as good as their record, especially after seeing
them last week and the way the Bengals offense exposed

(05:50):
that defense. They're good, without a doubt, but it doesn't
feel like they're a runaway and hide team. Doesn't feel
like they're a team that you're looking at and going man.
Those guys are a favorite to get to the super Bowl.
Those guys are a favorite to get to the AFC
Championship Game. But all of that goodwill is at stake

(06:14):
as they play the zero to seven Jets on Sunday.
If you can't win that one, if you don't play well,
if the Jets, while they are having more than their
fair share of troubles, including a quarterback. Where is it
going to be fields? Is it going to be Tyrod Tarad?

(06:39):
Is that how I think? Audio yesterday said that his
name's actually Tarrod. I didn't know. I've been calling him
Tyrod Taylor since he kicked Tony's butt in two thousand
and eight in Miami. So you can undo a lot
of that good if you lose to almost all of
that good if you lose to the Jets, if you

(07:00):
take care of business against the Jets. Now you're four
and four. The Steelers have got a tough one this week.
Maybe the Steelers are sitting at four and three, you're
four and four, like you're in, You're in the conversation
at this point. You are right where you want to
be considering everything that's gone on. So it's it's a

(07:23):
big week for the Bengals, a big, big week for
the Bengals. Well, we'll discuss some of Joe Flacco's comments
yesterday about you know, seeing the guys sitting alone at
the bar, and now he's that guy. I've been there, Joe,
I've been there. Wasn't for any reasons I wanted to be.

(07:45):
You know, you're getting paid millions of dollars, right now
to sit alone at the bar. I wasn't, but I've
been there so I can relate. We'll discuss that. We'll
talk a bunch of bear Cats today because this is
such a fascinating homecoming weekend for Cincinnati. Everything is in
front of you. Now in the Big Twelve, you're four

(08:08):
to zero, you got five games left. Yeah, there's some
tough ones in there. But if you want to be
if you want to have that type of season, if
you want to play in Dallas for a Big Twelve championship,
the opportunity is in your lap.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
And guess what.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
To get there, you gotta win some tough games. You're
not going to be in a situation where you play
all the bottom teams in the in the league and
every game is going to be simple. But Cincinnati has
a better team than Baylor. They have played better than
Baylor over the course of this season. Both teams have

(08:50):
a similar offense. Both teams can put up a lot
of points. Cincinnati's got a defense that gives up a
lot of yards, hasn't given up a lot of points.
Baylor's got a defense that's given up a lot of
yards and a lot of touchdowns. Teams have scored against
Baylor pretty much at will. Both teams are going to

(09:10):
be really good on special teams. So both teams really
good on offense, both teams really good on special teams.
One team average, maybe just slightly below average, but the
metrics would say it's more than fair to say that
Cincinnati has been average on defense, Baylor's been below average
on defense. And you're at home and it's homecoming, it's

(09:34):
gonna be a little chilly. There's eighty six degrees eighty
seven degrees I think in Waco, Texas yesterday, Taran, are
we going to see the jet engine heaters on the
Baylor sideline?

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Possibly?

Speaker 2 (09:50):
I mean, it's supposed to get down to get down
into the low forties on Saturday night, low forty one.
That's going to be overnight. It's not going to get
that cold. But boy, when that sun drops behind the
press box at Nippert Stadium right around halftime, it ain't

(10:11):
gonna feel good for Baylor down on that field if
they're not playing well. If you're playing well, that stuff
goes away. You don't really worry about it too much.
But if you're not playing well, you just want to
get on that plane and get the heck back to Texas.
I think it's a fascinating game.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
Sorry.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Robertson has had an outstanding season at quarterback for Baylor.
Brendan Sorosby has had an outstanding season at quarterback for Cincinnati.
Both of these teams are expecting to move the ball
up and down the field with relative ease. Here's the
interesting thing for me, though, Baylor down in the one

(10:55):
hundreds in red zone percentage, scoring touchdowns, settle for a
lot of field goals. They've got a good field goal kicker,
but a lot of their trips to the red zone
result in three instead of seven. And Cincinnati's defense, that's
the one thing they've been good at. The one thing

(11:17):
they've been good at is boeing up in the red
zone keeping the other team out of the end zone.
In fact, six trips to the red zone where the
opponent hasn't scored and should probably be eight when you
consider the two fourth down stops they've gotten that have
resulted in bogus pass interference flags. As Cincinnati can do

(11:41):
that and get just a couple drives where they limit
Baylor to three, then you get to five and zero,
you're seven and one and You've got a really fun
four game stretch Utah eras Zone A BYU TCU to

(12:03):
close it out. Is that breakthrough that this program has
always had. They've always found a way over the last
twenty five years, just find a way to have that

(12:24):
season where you break through and then things have gone
pretty smooth outside of the Senator from Alabama era. We'll
find out starting Saturday if that's more of who they
are or do we see the team last year that
got to five and two at the same point lost

(12:46):
all five games down the stretch. I think they're a
different animal this year, but they got to show us
and then Red's leading into too. Having Jeff Carr on.
There's a lot of talk about moving Ellie. Ellie should move,
Ellie should play somewhere else. I guess my question is,

(13:10):
if you're moving Ellie, who's your long term answer at shortstop.
I don't think we can say Matt McLean is the
long term answer for anything right now. His OPS was
six forty three last year. He's a good defender, grinder, gritty,
tough ballplayer. You really feel comfortable the next four or

(13:34):
five six years. Matt McLean's the shortstop here and if
you move Elli. Logic says, center, you're gonna move on
from TJ. Friedel. There's one reason I don't like the
idea of moving on from TJ. Friedel. Is TJ Friedel
like an all star level player?

Speaker 6 (13:53):
No?

Speaker 2 (13:54):
But he can hit lead off and he gets on
base at a high clip for a team that struggles
to score runs three sixty four the OBP or the
the the OBP for TJ. Friedel? Who do you replace
that with?

Speaker 7 (14:16):
So?

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Yeah, say and move Ellie from short And I've been
a staunch supporter of keep Ellie at shortstop for a
long time. Let him figure it out. But I'm not
seeing the type of improvement I wanted to necessarily see
from him last year playing the shortstop position. So is

(14:37):
it time to entertain what the future looks like at shortstop?
And do you have somebody that you're ready to put there?
If you are going to make the decision that you're
gonna put Eli somewhere else? Because I don't think you've

(14:57):
you've answered those questions where does Ellie go? What is he?
What are you asking him to replace? And then who
plays shortstop? If Eli Da La Cruz doesn't play shortstop?
So we'll talk some of that, and like I said,
we'll talk to j f ff Car from locked on

(15:18):
Rad's about his thoughts. All right, Tarn, you ready to
get this thing rolling?

Speaker 4 (15:24):
Day's giddy?

Speaker 2 (15:25):
All right, let's take a break. The Malager Show coming
up right after this. Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 8 (15:30):
Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 6 (15:34):
Traffic from the UC Health Traffic Center, Mammo Graham, Save
Lives call five one three five eight four pink to
schedule your annual mammogram with UC Help's expert team. That's
five one three five eight four pink. Still Three accidents
to keep an eye out for. The first one on
grossbeck over at Hamilton Avenue on the Western Hills Viaduct.

(15:55):
And accident at State Avenue and Glenn crossing Way. One
final accident at Anderson Ferry Road. Slow traffic southbound seventy
five from the Lachland Split the Petuck on that e
zelic with traffic this.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Say, what, teren you trying to get me in a
good mood. The other thing about about young Buck Deli
nineties hip hop, I was I was at the registered
terran to order and the lady that was doing the ordering.

(16:40):
I think she was one of the owners. She had
her back turn, like talking to the guy that was
making the sandwiches, and she turned back around. I was
just dancing. She's like, she's like, I thank you for
bringing up bringing our type of energy. I'm like, y'all
gonna play this. I'mna stand here and dance until you
start talking to me. It's just how it goes, real quick, Taran.

(17:04):
Let's get the viral audio from Joe Flacco yesterday. Uh,
I'm calling him uncle Joe. Wait, we got Joe cool? Right,
Joe Flacco is Uncle Joe. He's that cool uncle that
you look forward to a like the you know, the cookout,
the barbecue Fourth of July, Like you want to go
have a couple of beers with Uncle Joe. Let's hear it.

Speaker 7 (17:28):
Navigating my dad.

Speaker 9 (17:31):
Well, the good thing I guess, I guess you could
say is that I was in Cleveland by myself. You know,
my family was in New Jersey. We decided to do
that this year because last year we decided to do
it the other way, and this year we just said, hey,
let's keep the kids in their routine, and you know
see how that goes, and there's been challenges with that.

Speaker 10 (17:52):
Uh.

Speaker 9 (17:54):
You know, I love being there and around them and
doing all those things. Uh, But at the same time,
like they get in their routine and they're having a
lot of fun back at home, and early on in
the season they came out to Cleveland and they're going
to come out to this week's game, and uh, I
think there's always a challenge of sitting in a room

(18:15):
by yourself and being lonely. So for me, it's trying
to find ways to maybe stay over here a little
bit longer and then you know, just kind of take
myself out of that mindset, call home, go sit at
a restaurant by myself and realize that, man, that's pretty
enjoyable to do.

Speaker 10 (18:35):
You know.

Speaker 9 (18:35):
After there's not too many situations I tell you, I
tell people all the time. I mean I used to
see guys sitting at a bar by themselves, or you know,
just sitting by themselves eating and grabbing a little meal,
and like, man, I feel so baded for that guy.
You almost want to go join them. And now I realize,
like that dude was in heaven. And not to say

(18:55):
that that's that's obviously not what I want. I'd rather,
I'd rather be at home, sitting at the dinner table
with my kids and hearing what the hell they were
talking about all day. But there are but but if
you have to do it, then you might as well.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
Take advantage of it.

Speaker 9 (19:10):
So, you know, just little things like that.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
I think in some way we can all relate to that. Taran,
you're not there yet. I don't think, Oh no, I've
been there. I love myself. I hated it. So if
you're new and you don't know my story, I was
with my wife for twenty three years. She passed away
from cancer a couple of years ago, and I had
those moments. I was never the eat alone guy, never

(19:38):
like we were together for twenty three years like that.
I'm not that old, you know, and I like, I
hated the thought of it drove me crazy. And then
when she was gone and the daughter would have volleyball
or you know whatever, spending time with her friends, spent
a lot more time alone than I ever had. And

(20:00):
those first couple of times you're sitting there like this
is awful, and then by like you know, a month
and you're like, ah, do you have volleyball tonight? I'm
kind of looking forward to going somewhere and sitting at
the bar and getting some wings, watching little sports and
eating alone. So we can relate Joe. We can all

(20:21):
relate for different reasons. Everybody's got their own story. But boy,
I've gone from hating to be that guy to uh,
not really minding it anymore from time to time. But
Uncle Joe from Joe Cool. Like the thing with the difference, right,
Joe Cool is still cool. At some point, Joe Cool

(20:45):
is gonna become Uncle Joe, just like Joe Flacco at
some point was Joe Cool, was winning Super Bowls, was
playing on those great Ravens teams like he was. You know,
is Joe Flacco elite like he was Joe? He was
the cool guy. Now he's the uncle. He's got kids
in New Jersey coming down to see him this weekend

(21:07):
take on the Jets. It's a pretty interesting dynamic for
this Bengals teams. It's fascinating because you have your franchise quarterback,
right The Bengals have their quarterback locked up through the
end of the decade. This is not a scenario that
you plan on, but so far since the arrival of

(21:30):
Joe Flacco, there's just a different energy that didn't exist
from the moment Joe Burrow went down to the moment
that Joe Flacco arrived in between was lost season fire,
everybody blow it all up, and now, hey, maybe this

(21:54):
can work. Uncle Joe has sparked some life into things
down at pay Corp Stadium. All right, take a break,
Lee Stirling, to get you right for this weekend coming
up after this. Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 8 (22:12):
Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 6 (22:16):
Traffic from the UC Health Traffic Center, Mammo Graham Save Lives.
Call five one three five eight four pink to schedule
your annual mammogram with UC Help's experteam. That's five one
three five eight four pink. There is a new accident
in westbound on Highway twenty eight. It's over at Wolfpenn
Pleasant Hill Road on the Western Hills Viaduct. Another crash

(22:38):
at State Avenue, eastbound Columbia Parkway. A disabled vehicle over
at third in on Grossbeck. An accident at Hamilton. I'm
at ezelic with traffic.

Speaker 8 (22:48):
This report is sponsored by Macy's Vaccine.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
In fifteen thirty, Cincinnati's Sports station. All right, here we
go rolling along on a delightful Thursday afternoon. The air's
crisp's look chilly this morning. I'm not gonna lie. Car

(23:14):
windows had frost on them when I took the dogs out.
A little guy. You know, I like the lows and
like the upper forties, lower fifties. It drops down into
the thirties. That takes me to a time where three
four months of no fun. But that's okay. Today feels great.

(23:36):
And speaking of great, you want to feel great. Let's
get you ready for the weekend. Let's talk to Lee Stirling,
who an impressive, impressive three and zero on this show
last week. And Lee, well done. Let's stay hot. Yep,

(23:56):
thanks so much.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
And if it got down to the forties and ties,
here wait, it gets to the sixties and I walk
the dog and I see I see people in the
neighborhood wearing trench coats.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
So Lee, where are you? I'm in Miami, Okay. I
lived in La for a little while, and we lived
in Hermosa Beach, So you know, the ocean cities would
get a lot cooler at night than inland, and I'd
have friends come over to hang out and it would
be like fifty seven degrees and they would be in

(24:31):
bubble coats and like SoC hats. How do you guys
live down here? Fifty eight degrees? This feels great. I
don't know what you're talking about. You know, I love
that weather, La weather.

Speaker 5 (24:43):
But yeah, that's the story for another day.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
You know, it's gonna probably feel a little cold as
the hours tick on on Saturday. The Baylor Bears it
was eighty six degrees yesterday and Waco they're in for
a chili one. We'll see if they've got the jet
heaters on the sidelines. Cincinnati a five and a half
point favorite here.

Speaker 5 (25:06):
Yeah, and Cincinnati has been playing well, but I don't
know if I love them in this big favorite role here.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
Baylor was plus three.

Speaker 5 (25:14):
And a half at TCU, now they're plus five and
a half. I know they're won and six against the
spread this year, but when you see their talent, you're
going to say, how is this team not winning at
a high level. The quarterback Storry Robinson twenty one touchdowns,
seven interceptions. Obviously, Cincinnati's Brendon swersby an incredible seventeen touchdowns

(25:35):
only one interception. Neither defense is very good, but at
least Cincinnati does one thing much better. Than Baylor, they
fall on fumbles Cincinnati thirty four to thirty one. They win.
But I think this is a game that goes down.

Speaker 11 (25:51):
To the wire.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
I think it's absolutely a game that goes down to
the wire. These offenses are outstanding, and if they both
get into the rhythm, we might be a four a
clock kick. We might still be there at like eight
eight to thirty right, Packers three and a half point
favorites against the Steelers.

Speaker 5 (26:08):
Yeah, I mean, Aaron Rodgers is already a member of
some pretty exclusive clubs, and now he is the opportunity
to join another one on Sunday, facing a team he
played for for eighteen years. He's attempting to join Brett Favre,
Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Bate Manning as the only
five quarterbacks to earn wins over all thirty two teams.

(26:31):
So they do have some extra time to prep for
this game, does Pittsburgh. By playing Cincinnati last Thursday, Steelers
have gone pretty nice ten and four against the spread
over the last three years. Packers just I'm not impressed.
I mean, I know Micah is incredible, Michael park and Parsons,
He's a one man wrecking crew, But the rest of

(26:53):
the defense, especially the cornerbacks, awful. I mean, they just
can't make plays even when they're right there. And they
have a bunch of guys and receivers that are like twos,
threes and fours. They don't have that number one guy,
and I think it's gonna hurt them, especially in big games.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
Here.

Speaker 5 (27:08):
Getting a full field goal at home really feels like
the right side here, So you know, give me Mike Tomlin,
you know, extra time to prepare for and this means
a lot to them. I think their defense is underperformed.
I expect them to come up with some some turnovers here.
Jordan Love does not look especially good this year.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Team favored Pittsburgh strew.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Up Bengals six and a half point favorites versus the Jets.
This this, it feels so like it's such a Bengals
set up here. They get the big win last week
against Pittsburgh. They kind of announced to the national stage
that they're not going to go away in the AFC picture.

(27:50):
They get the zero to seven Jets at home. They're
a six and a half point favorite. Why do I
feel like Lucy's getting ready to move the football.

Speaker 5 (28:02):
Well, anything can happen. I mean, we do know that
this is the NFL stand for not for long. But
the Jets are awful. I mean, you've got your owner
coming out and making comments about your quarterback. That's even worse,
you know than the Dolphins with a quarterback is blaming
everyone else and saying people aren't showing up for players
only meetings and on both teams. I mean, the Jets

(28:25):
are just really undisciplined. Their only path to success here
is to get Breese Hall going the receivers, and we
don't even know if Garrett Hall is going to play here.
They just have no impact guys. They're not getting any separation.
Tough for any quarterback to be successful during that situation.
So isn't a whole lot positive to say about the

(28:46):
Cincinnati Bengals d But the Jests offense, I don't think
they could take advantage of it and challenge it here.
Joe Flaco's red hot and I think the team believes
in them. Goals twenty seven to seventeen. They get the
five hundred.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
And finally Game of the week, uh Michigan Michigan State
the Wolverines fourteen and a half point favorites, Big game here.

Speaker 5 (29:09):
I mean, this is big Brother against Little Brother. First
five callers they call eight hundred, four hundred nine seven
four one. We'll get in the game for free. And
how about this, the last five Sundays in the NFL,
we've won five and oh five and oh five and
oh four and one and four and one. You want
to hop on board. We're twenty three and two the

(29:30):
last five Sundays. Just one hundred ninety seven dollars. You
can get that next four Sundays it's Lee's NFL Sunday
Goloburn ticket paromousefours dot com.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Alrightley, I'm good, all right man, thanks a lot. We'll
talk to you next week, hopefully another undefeated week.

Speaker 5 (29:57):
Yeah sounds good.

Speaker 2 (29:58):

Speaker 2 (31:11):
By Closing out Hour number three here on the Mo
Eggers Show, Chad Brendle filling in for this Thursday Bengals

(31:34):
PEP rally tomorrow, Getting you ready for Bearcats Baylor Bears
on Saturday and Bengals Jets Sunday. Jamar Chase talking to
the media now over at pay Course Stadium and talking

(31:55):
about leadership and how Joe Burrow going down this year
has impacted that has impacted his leadership role because for
pretty much his entire football career after high school, he's

(32:18):
been with Joe Burrow. Remember he sat out the COVID year,
Joe Burrow's first year here in Cincinnati. Jamar Chase didn't
play college football, so for him in a locker room setting,
it's been him and Joe for a long time now,
and he's been able to be I don't want to

(32:41):
say a background guy, because he's one of the best
players in the NFL, but he hasn't needed to be
an alpha. Even if he was, even if he carried
that kind of personality, that kind of impact, the weight

(33:03):
of the world has been on Joe was like that
at LSU. He's the number one pick in the draft.
It was like that when Jamar got here. And I
think big picture, long term, I think this can end
up being a very good thing for this franchise because

(33:25):
I think Joe and Jamar, Joe Burrow and Jamar have
such a good friendship, such a good connection that I
don't think it's going to cause any friction if both
of them have a loud voice in the locker room.

(33:47):
I think that just helps out Burrow because I think
I think Burrow for the most part, has no issues.
He's comfortable in that big dog chair. But man, if
you've got a strong number two, if you've got another

(34:12):
great player that has a big time work ethic and
a big time desire to win at the highest levels,
to take his game to the two levels the sport
has rarely seen. How is that a bad thing for

(34:35):
your offense? How is that a bad thing for your
locker room? How is that a bad thing for your culture?
So having however, many weeks, this lasts where Jamar gets
to be front and center. Where Jamar gets to be

(34:57):
the guy on Saturday nights on road games, generally, you
know there's a team meeting Saturday night. One of the
guys gets up there and talks to the team. I
would assume that it's usually Burrow. Right now, that's not

(35:18):
an option, and I don't maybe in a couple of
weeks it's Joe Flacco. But for right now, that guy's
Jamar Chase. And that guy, I think is a guy
you want in those situations as often as you can
get him there. From all accounts, is a guy that

(35:42):
works his tail off. From all accounts, he's a guy
that's going to set the example for the young guys
to know what the standard is to know how hard
you have to work and then to go out and
do it. Because of a lot of players, a lot
of coaches, a lot of leaders are very much do

(36:06):
as I say, not as I do. They tell you
to keep a level head, and then as soon as
things go wrong, they're the first person to lose their mind.
Tell you to stay calm. Then you look on the sideline,
is the coach is screaming and cussing everybody out, And
you say, coach, I thought you said stay calm. Well

(36:28):
you stay calm. I don't have to stay home. That's
not leadership. That's asking things of people that you're not
willing to do yourself. Jamar Chase seems like the type.
He's not going to ask you to do it unless
he's about it. So I think that's a good thing

(36:50):
for the Bengals as we continue to move this forward. Tarm,
what did you think about what I had to do
today before lunch? Teenage daughter belly button piercing. I've been

(37:12):
anti this for a long time. I've been anti this
for a long time. I finally gave in, Taran, And sometimes,
you know, sometimes as a single dad, you gotta you
gotta give in to things. That you don't want to do.
I had this conversation, I'd rather the belly button piercing
than the tattoo. Right. The belly button piercing you can

(37:34):
take out if you decide you don't like it. The
tattoo you decide you don't like it. Boy, that's a process,
and it's a painful process, very painful. A lot more
you think the tattoo is painful, the tattoo removal, from
everything I've heard, is a lot more painful than the tattoo.

(37:57):
So I gave in. It's a pick your battles thing, right, Terran.
I think I've picked this battle for two and a
half years now. Finally I gave in, kids, but it
led to a great lunch. I guess that means for
that means something, right, that's gotta it's gotta mean something.

Speaker 4 (38:18):
Yes, thank you, Kelsey.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
She took credit for lunch. She's like, you're welcome. We
wouldn't have been downtown, we wouldn't have been in Otr
if it wasn't for this. So that's why you had
good lunch today, as if Tarn and I wouldn't have
found good lunch anyway.

Speaker 4 (38:40):
But now we have also found lunch for possibly our next.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
We did There's an interesting place down there that that
we saw right across the street from from Young Buck Deli.
We'll talk about that if it's good in a week
and a half. How about that two weeks? All right,
let's wrap up this hour Taran. When we come back,

(39:06):
we'll get to some Bearcats stuff, a lot of Bengals,
Bengals heavy Hour number one. We'll get to the Bearcats
an hour two more after this. This is the Moeger Show.
I am Chad Brendle. Back after this right here on
Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty. Now your chance to win one

(39:27):
thousand dollars Enter this nationwide keyword on our website.

Speaker 8 (39:31):
Cash.

Speaker 11 (39:32):
That's cash.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
Enter it.

Speaker 13 (39:34):
Now.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
There we go our number two, The Moegar Show. Chad
Brendle's sitting in today. Bengals pep rally tomorrow. I believe
mo is in for the Lance tomorrow night, if I
heard correctly.

Speaker 4 (39:59):
That is correct.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
Again, this is all secondhand information from my dad, who
apparently is now my manager, Terren. He runs my schedule.
Not a bad guy to have as your manager. No,
you've met my dad multiple times. My dad's awesome.

Speaker 4 (40:22):
Yes, That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (40:24):
You met him, you were with him Saturday night. Correct.
Watch the Bearcats get the win over Oklahoma State at
the Holy Grail.

Speaker 4 (40:33):
Good times.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
It was great times, perfect weather, great night to just
kind of hang out. Had the windows open, half inside,
half outside.

Speaker 4 (40:43):
Last time wins will be open.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
I know it was a good one. It's a good time.
You know, it's not having a good time. Chauncey Billups
and Terry Rogier not having a good time. Massive gambling
ring some of it uh sports gambling and apparently guys

(41:06):
like Chauncey Billups giving out inside information also trying to
fix high stakes poker games that that have ties to
the mob. Yeh, Chauncey, what what are we doing?

Speaker 3 (41:23):
Like?

Speaker 2 (41:24):
I think we've kind of had a feel that Terry
Rogier had a gambling habit, addiction, whatever you want to
call it. So so not a surprise to hear his
name mixed in with this. But boy, Chauncey Billups always
seemed like a guy that had it together for the

(41:44):
most part, and he's probably probably the last we're going
to see of him in and around the NBA. Terry
Rogier as well, which sucks it does suck, and and
the problem is tearing everything that I've seen today. The
first thing that everybody goes to this is what happens

(42:07):
when pro leagues get in bed with gambling companies. And
I don't necessarily believe that to be true. I don't
think one is directly correlated to another. What I do
think is gambling and gambling culture is now a lot

(42:28):
easier to be around than it used to be, now
that it's legal in so many states, and then people
can just go on their phones and gamble on whatever
they like responsibly, you would hope. But people in these positions,
it's not an option. You can't be involved in it.

(42:49):
But they are, and there's gonna be public scrutiny. I
don't agree with it. I don't agree with the sentiment
that this puts these leagues in question because they've now

(43:12):
got connections to the gambling companies. I don't think that's
why Chauncey Billups and Terry Rogier and the other people
involved in this, like it wasn't like okay, like somebody
from DraftKings is like, hey, we're connected to the NBA.
You guys want in you want to side piece of
the action.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
No.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
I think what we are seeing is that there are
a lot of what have proven to be effective over
the past couple of years, safeguards in the way that
this thing is policed and commissioned and regulated. Because we're

(43:55):
finding more and more of these things getting caught. Because
there is more gambling, you're gonna have more people get
caught up in the underbelly of it. And whether the
NBA or the Major League basebar or the NFL has

(44:16):
any affiliation with the gambling company, I don't think really
matters here because I think this would be something that's
happening either way. I don't think FanDuel or DraftKings or whatever.
Uh Chauncey Billups wasn't like, Hey, the NBA is getting
some getting some bags from FanDuel, I'm gonna go get

(44:40):
mine too. So I hate that, you know, one is
tied to the other. But that's the nature of pro
leagues taking money from gambling companies, is that anytime something happens,
the instant fan react is going to go to that

(45:01):
these leagues brought it on themselves. Let's get to the Bearcats. Man,
it's a big weekend with the Baylor Bears coming to town.
It's homecoming four o'clock game. A lot of similarities between
these two teams. Like I said, both offenses are excellent,
both quarterbacks are excellent. Cincinnati's got a little bit better

(45:23):
run game. Baylor's got a little bit better pass game.
The concern if your Cincinnati. I think one the way
that teams have been able to slow down Baylor is
to create turnovers. Baylor's played seventeen games or fourteen games.

(45:45):
Baylor's played seven games. They have fourteen turnovers, seven interceptions,
seven loss fumbles. Cincinnati just got their first interception last
week against Oklahoma State. They have done a decent job
forcing fund recovering fumbles, but they're not a team that
turns you over a lot. And if you're going to

(46:10):
slow down this Baylor offense, I think you're gonna need
some of that. We've heard a lot this week. Floodgates
are going to open. They got that first interception out
of the way. The floodgates are going to open for
Cincinnati's defense. I hope that's true. As you know, that

(46:31):
means that they were able to get stops to get
Baylor's offense off the field. But they played seven games.
It took them seven games to get their first interception.
It's very difficult for me to just jump from they're
not getting any interceptions to okay, they got one. Now

(46:51):
they're going to be in a position to get a
bunch of them. And if you don't turn Baylor over,
especially early, their offense is going to move the ball
up and down the field. The advantage I think Cincinnati
has Baylor does not do a good job scoring touchdowns

(47:14):
in the red zone. It's a team that wants to
push the ball down the field. It's a team that
wants to hit you across the middle and have a
guy run away from the defense, create mismatches, create isolations
where you've got a wide receiver that makes a clean catch,

(47:34):
he's got one guy to beat, and if he can
make the dB miss, he's off to the races. Outside
of the Kansas game, Cincinnati's defense has done a very
good job of this. They have bent but not broken.
And you may look at Iowa State and say, Iowa
State scored thirty, that should have been twenty two. They

(47:55):
got eight free points from the officials on some bowl hockey.
That's gonna be the key for Cincinnati. You can't Baylor
is gonna rack you up yards. They have more passing

(48:16):
yards than any team in the country. Baylor is going
to get yards through the air, and as a byproduct
of that, they'll get some yards on the ground. They're
they're averaging around one hundred and forty yards a game
Baylor's run game, So they're gonna They're gonna run it

(48:36):
enough to keep you honest, but don't fool yourself. They
want to throw the ball. Showyer Robertson stands back there
in the shotgun. He wants to look around, pick your
defense apart, and move the ball down the field eight, ten, twelve,
fourteen yards. At the time, they haven't hit a ton

(48:58):
of explosives over forty fifty yards. I think they've only
had one sixty plus yard touchdown, which is kind of
impressive for an offense. With the passing numbers that they
have that teams really have been able to keep them
from going over the top. But they will methodically and quickly.

(49:23):
Now those things don't make sense per se. They are
fine with ten twelve play drives. They're just gonna do
it with quick hit passes as opposed to handing it
off and running out the clock with their run game.
The other big thing Bayler's run defense not good, not good.

(49:49):
They're in the hundreds and yards allowed rushing per game.
Evan pryor Tywee Walker in a game warm weather team,
kind of cold weather environment. The last thing that they
really want to do in those situations the warm weather
team is to come up and constantly make big hits

(50:14):
over and over and over again as the temperature is dropping.
So there are advantages for Cincinnati here, there are some
disadvantages as well, going back to the three three five

(50:35):
being okay with giving up some yards and keeping everything
in front. I don't, however, think Baylor is just gonna
say we're gonna try to eat the clock. We're gonna
we're gonna try to hold it for thirty six, thirty five,
thirty six minutes, thirty seven minutes, forty minutes, like some
other teams have done to Cincinnati in this stretch of

(50:59):
six wins. In all, so, it's it's a game stylistically
that should be very entertaining. It's a game stylistically that's
probably gonna take a long time to play. So I
do think there's going to be quite a bit of
passing even if Cincinnati runs it a little bit more

(51:22):
because that has been where the Baylor defense is susceptible
and Cincinnati could be the team that says we want
to control time of possession in this one. We know
they can score fast. We can score fast too, but
let's cut down maybe the number of possessions in this game,

(51:43):
depending on how the Bearcats look. You got questions, give
us call five one, three, seven four nine fifteen thirty.
Phone lines are open. We'll talk to Keegan Nicholson here
in about twelve fifteen minutes, and then we will talk
Dan Klaskins. After that was some fantasy football. This is

Modern Office Methods on ESPN fifteen thirty, the official.

Speaker 8 (52:55):
Home of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 14 (53:00):
Around the world.

Speaker 2 (53:03):
Moving right along hour number two, we'll we'll try to
keep this as Football in the Natty as possible, but
we're gonna we got about five six minutes here. We're
gonna try to clear the phone lines. Dick and Dayton, Dick,
how are we doing?

Speaker 8 (53:19):
Hey, Chad?

Speaker 13 (53:20):
Good show today was just I like what you said
about Joe flackcoll I.

Speaker 6 (53:26):
Just it just just the second Joe, It just Uncle Joe.

Speaker 13 (53:31):
They just they just yelled and it was so proud
to see them just. I mean, the defense looked good
and and you know, the the darn looked pretty good.

Speaker 2 (53:43):
I thought, Yeah, anytime, anytime you beat the Steelers is
a good thing.

Speaker 13 (53:47):
Yeah, yeah, it is. It is that you were talking
and we got to lock the Bearcats.

Speaker 11 (53:53):
It's a shock.

Speaker 13 (53:54):
It's good. It's good. I think it's great for Cincinnati
to have all this and you're talking about the Reds.
That was pretty interesting. But I wanted to put my uh,
congratulations to mister Dave Lapham for what he's done with
the Bengals. With Dan Horde, you know, I think, of course,
one of the best color and now radio for you know,

(54:17):
what is it.

Speaker 2 (54:19):
Analysts?

Speaker 13 (54:20):
Yeah, yeah, he's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (54:22):
He's very good.

Speaker 14 (54:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (54:24):
Yeah, and I think we got now who do we
play Sunday?

Speaker 2 (54:27):
The Jets? Oh and seven Jets? Dick.

Speaker 13 (54:30):
We gotta win that game, Chad, you know.

Speaker 2 (54:33):
Have to or else the Pittsburgh win doesn't really mean anything.

Speaker 11 (54:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (54:37):
And I like what you said about the Reds too, you.

Speaker 2 (54:39):
Know, I mean, if you're gonna move Alley, who's gonna
play shortstop?

Speaker 5 (54:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (54:44):
You got to answer those questions. It can't just be
we're gonna move Alley and now we don't have an
answer at one of the most important positions on the field.

Speaker 5 (54:52):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 2 (54:53):
Well, good to talk to you appreciate it. Let's go
to John and Mason. John, what's up, Hey, how are you?
I'm good?

Speaker 3 (55:02):
You doing all right? I called about gambling, but can
I make one Bengals.

Speaker 2 (55:09):
Comment it costs a dollar.

Speaker 15 (55:14):
Go ahead, I'm making a buck fifty, Okay, excellently.

Speaker 3 (55:19):
I just want to say that, you know, I'm not
enamored with.

Speaker 15 (55:24):
With Zach Taylor as coach, but he would and the
team would be a whole do a whole lot better
if he would give up calling plays. He is not
a good play caller, whether he thinks so.

Speaker 2 (55:36):
Or otherwise, I don't disagree. I would like to see
what that looked like if somebody else was doing it.
But there weren't a lot of people that had problems
with Zach's play calls last year when everything was working.
The problem is there's just too many stretches where it
hasn't worked. So that's where That's where I'm with you, John.

(55:56):
I also I also watched Zach Taylor's You see Off's
go thirteen quarters without a touchdown, and that is still
seared into my brain.

Speaker 3 (56:06):
I can't believe that that must really hurt.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
It was not fun to cover four games without a touchdown.
That's not It's when you have a podcast network, a
whole network that talks about one thing, and that one
thing is the offense hasn't scored in four games. It's
not a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (56:24):
No, it's not. That is tough duty man.

Speaker 2 (56:28):
Hazard pay all right, what do you got on sports betting?

Speaker 14 (56:31):
Oh?

Speaker 15 (56:31):
Disregarding sports betting is that, you know, it is impossible.
I listened to a lot of sports radio going back.
I'm seventy nine, going back to you sound great, Bob Trumpy,
Bob Trump.

Speaker 3 (56:45):
He started with his show and I listened to.

Speaker 15 (56:50):
And the thing is, it is impossible to get away
from sports betting on sports radio.

Speaker 2 (56:57):
I know we have to talk about it. It's what
people want to listen to.

Speaker 15 (57:01):
I guess so and so you're playing to your market.
But for those of us who aren't sports better and
really like just listening to sports, it isn't possible. I mean,
during the commercial breaks, it's there. I know, you have
to make money. The leagues are so I'm lost for

(57:22):
the word here, hypocritical. I mean, I remember when Mickey
Mantle and Willie May's, two of the greatest ballplayers ever
were suspended from baseball after they retired because they were
glad handing in casinos in Las Vegas. And now MLB
can't get enough of sports money. And then I listened,

(57:47):
for example, on Sunday morning when I listened to Cambrew
and of course I can't remember his name, but from
Paramount Sports the odds and during the week we have
all the over unders. So sports betting is here to stay.
It's not going to go away because there's too much

(58:09):
money to.

Speaker 2 (58:09):
Be made active life. It's industry. It's not going anywhere.

Speaker 3 (58:14):
I absolutely believe it. But for some of us, I'm
sorry to have to listen to all of it when
what I'd really like to hear is more sports.

Speaker 2 (58:23):
I get it, John, and that's and that's me. Yep,
thanks for the call.

Speaker 5 (58:27):
Thank you.

Speaker 15 (58:29):
I enjoy your show, uh and Moe with Tony and
Austin and all of that.

Speaker 3 (58:33):
So thanks a lot, man.

Speaker 2 (58:34):
I appreciate you listening. John, Thank you so much. You
have a great day, have a great week. I think
we can squeeze in Mike and independence. Mike, what's going
on sports? More sports betting?

Speaker 14 (58:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 16 (58:46):
J how you doing.

Speaker 2 (58:46):
I'm great.

Speaker 3 (58:49):
Perspective in this.

Speaker 16 (58:49):
I used to deal high stakesbooker games, both a professional
dealer with casinos and also also.

Speaker 2 (58:56):
Chauncey billups underground games.

Speaker 14 (59:00):
And that's the thing.

Speaker 16 (59:00):
If Saucy wasn't involved and running an underground game, that
had cheating involved. I mean he's in a lot more
trouble than just you know, get picked a byt a fan.
But all the guys who lost, I mean, they lose hundreds,
one thousands of dollars in these games. And if he
was caught cheating these guys, I mean, he's in a
lot more trouble in just a fansy. Some personal safety
problems involved involved. So I just think it's a it's

(59:23):
crazy going.

Speaker 14 (59:24):
On right now in NBA.

Speaker 2 (59:25):
Yeah, why.

Speaker 14 (59:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (59:29):
For him?

Speaker 3 (59:29):
Why exactly less? He has some some duramed black metal
whatever it may be.

Speaker 17 (59:33):
Who knows, but I mean he's in pretty deep that
that's deep fixing underground poker games as well as providing
insider information on on sports betting, like they got him
in a lot of ways, and.

Speaker 16 (59:49):
Who knows how many people he's touched that are involved
now that he can bowl over at this point.

Speaker 2 (59:56):
For sure, it's all right, thanks man, appreciate it.

Speaker 14 (01:00:01):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
All right, We'll get to Mike in l A and
then we gotta take a break. Mike, how's it going,
my friend? How are you? Mike? Mike going? Once? Yeah, okay,
you you were going once you did the hammer, the
gabble was about to hit Mike.

Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
Yeah, I know, it's a rough damn world. What you got, brother,
I'm scared, I'm really scared.

Speaker 15 (01:00:26):
Uh uh.

Speaker 3 (01:00:30):
Complete conjecture about Ellie getting moved number.

Speaker 2 (01:00:33):
One, Yeah, of course, I'm just saying, if you're gonna
move him, then then what's how are you facilitating that move?
I hear a lot of times move ally. Okay, well,
who's gonna play shortstop? It's a pretty important position onliners.

Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
They ain't moving Lley and let's because he's still they
They got him over the barrel for another couple of years,
so I don't see him going anywhere.

Speaker 2 (01:00:59):
No, no, no move positions, Mike. I'm not talking about
move trade him. I'm talking about move positions like put
Ellie in center, put Ellie in the outfield, put Ellie here,
put him at third. If you're gonna move him, somebody
has to play shortstop if Ellie's gonna be your center
fielder or whatever the case may be. I wasn't talking
about trading him.

Speaker 3 (01:01:17):
Okay, Well, here's one thing they should do for sure.
Whether Jeff Cargres or not doesn't matter to me. But
all these teams that are being very successful they're having
their first or second best hitter leading off or hitting second,
and the Reds just won't do that. And how stupid
is that this cat gets on base he's at third.

Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
Well, they didn't steal it. He didn't steal any at
all this year. They took his superpower away from him.

Speaker 3 (01:01:46):
Well, I don't understand it.

Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
I don't either.

Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
I know Tito Francona knows way more about baseball than
I do. But anyway, speaking of baseball, the World Series
starts tomorrow. I heard you mention it. That's a big deal.
That's bigger than Jeff Carr talking about the.

Speaker 2 (01:02:03):
Red I'm getting to baseball in our three Mike, Mike, Mike. Yeah,
I'm getting too. I'm getting today.

Speaker 3 (01:02:11):
I'm impatient.

Speaker 13 (01:02:12):
Now.

Speaker 10 (01:02:12):
I don't feel good anyway.

Speaker 3 (01:02:16):
But I'll tell you what this Bengals game, the Jeffs
got the sixteenth rank defense. We got to thirty first
rank defense. Yeah, that's a problem, it is. And in
total yards we're almost even on offense twenty sixth and
twenty seventh.

Speaker 2 (01:02:33):
So there's a lot of Jake Browning games in there
that there's a lot of Jake Browning games in there
that I'm not going to put a lot of weight
in that offensive thing for a little while.

Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
Yeah, But by the same token Joe Blackowain, Patrick Mahomes
or Joe Burrow. I love the guy because his experience
and his accuracy and stuff. But I you know, he
won that won Super Bowl. After that, I don't know
if he had a lot of good seasons a row.
And I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
But the only thing I love about Flaco is that
he understands the assignment. You've got Jamar Chase and t Higgins.
Throw them the football. Yeah, don't get cute, don't try
to don't try to do a bunch of stuff. Don't
just throw those two guys in football. Get the hell
out of the way.

Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
And now let's switch to UC basketball and Zager basketball.
Am I allowed to mention Xavier?

Speaker 5 (01:03:27):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
I mean, I guess you can. Okay, I'm not going
to hang up on you. I don't think it depends
on what you say.

Speaker 3 (01:03:35):
I believe. I believe now this year they're picking Xavier
to finish eighth in the Big East. Yes, I doubt
that because I think Rick Richard Patino Junior is an
excellent steamer and he learned from the best, so and
if he could recruit kids to New Mexico, He's sure

(01:03:55):
as hell is going to be able to recruit kids
to Zager. So. I don't know about this year, but
next year, West, you better watch out because Patino will
be coming for you and UH and the Big East. Also.
I just have a lot of faith in Richard Patino Jr.
I like West too. Don't get me wrong.

Speaker 2 (01:04:14):
I like Richard as a coach. This is not a
good roster. Yeah, that's the problem Xavier is gonna have
sometimes sometimes it's about the Jimmy's and the Joe's and
especially with Pizzato out, This is not a good Xavier roster.
They're gonna they're gonna have a rough year, but I
do think long term they're gonna be fine. Richard knows

(01:04:36):
what he's doing.

Speaker 3 (01:04:38):
Yeah he does. That's all I had for your Thanks
for taking my call. I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (01:04:42):
Appreciate it, Mike.

Speaker 3 (01:04:43):
Thank you, take care, hang up from the wet.

Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
I hope you feel better, Mike. I hope you have
a better day.

Speaker 3 (01:04:50):
And greeting from the West from the West coast.

Speaker 4 (01:04:54):
There you go.

Speaker 5 (01:04:55):
What's weather?

Speaker 3 (01:04:56):
What's that weather gonna be? Saturday?

Speaker 10 (01:04:58):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
Saturday is high of sixty one, low of forty one.
It's going to be dry, but it's gonna be a little.

Speaker 3 (01:05:05):
Cloudy, whether it's a day game or NIKI.

Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
It's a four o'clock game, so twilight, oh.

Speaker 3 (01:05:12):
Twenty of light, twenty of lights. So it won't be
put down in the forties by then.

Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
No, but it's but it's gonna be down in the
fifties once that sun drops behind that press box. It's
gonna get a lot more chilly than Baylor wants it to.
I'll just tell you that, Yeah, but.

Speaker 3 (01:05:26):
It ain't thirty or twenty that in that case, i'd
really say, oh yeah. In this case, that's for sure. Anyway,
Thanks you.

Speaker 2 (01:05:34):
Thanks, my appreciate it. All right, let's take a break.
We'll get back to the phones in a little bit.
Keithan Nicholson, Dan Klaskin's coming up next. This is Cincinnati's
ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 12 (01:05:43):
You've been listening to football in the NATI on ESPN
fifteen thirty, the official home of the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati's
ESPN fifteen thirty Traffic.

Speaker 6 (01:06:00):
From the UC Health Traffic Center. Mamma Graham, Save Lives
Call five one three five eight four pink to schedule
your annual mammogram with UC Help's experteen. That's five one
three five eight four pink East found Norwood Lateral. There
is an accident. This is on the entrance ramp from
northbound seventy one on westbound two seventy five. A disabled

(01:06:20):
vehicle has got the left lane blocked off at col Rain.
Looking at a ten to fifteen minute delay. Right now
back from Hamilton. I'm at Ezelch with traffic. This report
is sponsored by Progress.

Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
Okay, okay, let's get back out to the phones and
we're gonna move Keegan to the top of the five
o'clock hour. We were only gonna be able to get
him for a couple of minutes. I messed up the clock.
So instead we'll go out to Steve, who also wants
to talk some sports gambling. Steve, what's up?

Speaker 14 (01:06:58):
Yeah, I'll tell you what. I think. It's this NBA
thing opened up.

Speaker 5 (01:07:02):
They better.

Speaker 14 (01:07:03):
There's got a big guys really squirming in the NFL
and Major League baseball, college basketball football. This thing is
gonna get outrageous.

Speaker 5 (01:07:13):
I bet you.

Speaker 2 (01:07:14):
I do think it's possible. I also think that this
is good because I think there needs to be an understanding.
The systems they have in place to catch you are
very good. Like, yeah, there's a lot better chance now
because everything's above board, that you're gonna get caught than

(01:07:37):
there was when when things were underground.

Speaker 14 (01:07:41):
Well, it's it's like these teachers and having their little
flings with these kids. I know they're gonna get caught.
You can't get away with but I bet you every
sport they're gonna investigate, and I bet there's a lot
of people gonna come down out of this.

Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
Yeah. I mean that they said there's thirty something people
involved in this. So far, we know of Billups and
Rosier and David Jones, who is a player and coach
for the Caves, assistant for the Caves. We haven't heard
much else yet. Johntay Porter is one that has come
up so far. It has not been major because I

(01:08:14):
think most of these I genuinely think most of these
guys are smart enough to know the way that it's
being policed, the way that it's being monitored. You're not
going to get away with it for long. You might
get away with it for a little bit, but but
if you keep dipping the toes in the water. There's
going to be an alligator come out of that water

(01:08:35):
and bite your toes.

Speaker 14 (01:08:37):
You got that right, And Chohncey better hope he goes
to jail because if they let him out.

Speaker 3 (01:08:41):
He should.

Speaker 4 (01:08:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:08:43):
If there's mob ties about, well there's one too much
money And if the mob is involved he doesn't want
to go to jail either.

Speaker 14 (01:08:52):
He's in pretty bad shape right now.

Speaker 2 (01:08:55):
No, I agree completely, Thanks, Stave, appreciate it. I mean,
that's the thing. If that's if that's where you're you're headed.
Jail ain't the place for you if the mob's involved,
because they'll find you in there real quick too. And

(01:09:15):
hopefully this is starting to send a message to some
of these guys. There's not a short cut. There was
more of a shortcut when it was underground and everything
was hush hush and nobody wanted anything to come out
because then everybody would go down. Now this stuff is
done out in the open. These things are easily traceable

(01:09:40):
and if you do it, if you get involved in it,
you're gonna get caught. Maybe not right away, but the
rate the odds of not being able to get away
with it the way it's regulated now are much much higher.
Dan Klaskin's coming up right after this, since that he's
ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 8 (01:10:00):
Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
Traffic from the UC Health Traffic Center.

Speaker 6 (01:10:07):
Mamma Graham Save Lives call five one three five eight
four pink to schedule your annual mammogram with UC Help's experteen.
That's five one three five eight four pink. East found
Norwood Lateral. There is an accident. This is on the
entrance ramp from northbound seventy one on westbound two seventy five.
A disabled vehicle has got the left lane blocked off

(01:10:27):
at Coal Rain looking at a ten to fifteen minute delay.
Right now back from Hamilton, I'm at Ezelach with traffic.

Speaker 2 (01:10:40):
It's about a dayl out of that. You wanna plug
two kick today? Terren Walls tell me, is.

Speaker 3 (01:10:51):
Just my day.

Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
Let's go to a guy that I know. I got
a feeling. This guy's listening to a little bit of
day last Soul in his day. Dan Klaskins get sports
Info dot Com. Uh you a plug one or plug two?

Speaker 5 (01:11:07):
Guy?

Speaker 10 (01:11:09):
You know I'm I'm an old guy.

Speaker 7 (01:11:11):
I'm an old guy. So there's there's definitely a lot
of ways to go with that joke. But either way,
either way, I do appreciate tarn mixing it up there.

Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
Did you know that Plug three his son was actually
a running back at Auburn back in the teens.

Speaker 7 (01:11:30):
Wow, I learned something new here there.

Speaker 2 (01:11:32):
You learn something.

Speaker 7 (01:11:33):
Hey, that's what you bring to this show.

Speaker 3 (01:11:37):
Interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:11:38):
So like ken Brew is the rock and roll guy,
like right, Like he's got the history of rock and roll.
I'm the hip hop history guy.

Speaker 7 (01:11:46):
All right, Well, what's funny? The older you get, the
more things become like classic.

Speaker 2 (01:11:51):
Right right. Jeff Perlman just released a book on tubac
not not that anybody can. Let's let's get too fantasy football, Dan,
we are, we're getting. We're in the heart of the
season now week eight, you're getting towards the playoff races.

(01:12:12):
Last week U and Mode took a look at some
some targets to trade for. How about some guys we
should consider selling high?

Speaker 7 (01:12:21):
Yeah, no doubt about it. And uh kid, first thing
to keep in mind and for people out there to
play in league to league rules, see when the trading
deadline is. I can't believe how many people playing leagues
would need it. They don't even know the trading deadline's coming.
I mean a lot of times the Sight might pop
it up, but that tells you you know what's up.
You need to take an assessment of your rosters and overall,

(01:12:42):
but ideally a few names I got for you. I mean, obviously,
it's like the talk marks. We want to sell dudes
when they're a little high, but that's not always the case.
The guys on the list today, they're a variety of regions,
but start with Dan Rodgers. Obviously, it's been better than
I probably expected. I mean, the dude's got had a
big day week, as we know, but that was a
second four touchdown pass. Season's got six touchdowns over his

(01:13:04):
last two. He's got the red ended game versus the Packers.
But I don't think he's I think he's sort of
at the peak of its value right now. I can't
see him continuing to throw at this ray and realistically,
especially in Super PRIXI leagues, I believe you can get
a lot in return if you get rid of him now.
De Andrea Swift's a really interesting name here because the
Bears they haven't quite lived up to the preseason height.

(01:13:27):
But volume alone is making Swift very valuable. And I
mean you're talking about a guy who's at least twelve
carries in every game he's involved in the passing game.
But particularly since coming out of that Week five by,
they've gone to him as the first focus point in
this offense. He's got forty five PPR points over his
last two games, back to back one hundred yard performances.
I can't imagine that there's much the volume is going

(01:13:50):
to go with. I'm not so sure how successful it's
going to be, but I do believe that value could
be peaking right now.

Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
Ay J.

Speaker 7 (01:13:56):
Brown's been pretty dismal all season. In fact, before last
week's twenty eight point EPR performances best of the year,
he only broke in double digital PPR points and six
or two of his previous six contests there So, uh,
the Eagles when they play from ahead, they don't really
throw the ball as much a Dan Brown was dressed
in the first or second round, picking a lot of leagues.

(01:14:16):
He's not worth that right now, but coming off this
performance he might still convince others the are And unfortunately
Travis Kelsey is the other guy on the list. Now,
he's not coming off that many great performances. Not like
these other guys. Certainly he's been steady, but the Chiefs,
they're really good offense right now, Chad Rashie Rice coming back.
I just don't know if the targets are going to

(01:14:36):
be there. I believe Travis Kelsey's name is still worth
more than his fantasy production, and especially if you had
a good tight end you've got behind him and you're
battling that decision, that might be the best chance to
sell Kelsey. Before you know, Rashie Rice and some of
these other receivers really started eating into his target because
last year got the Rice's return, he just had three targets. Now,
of course they're up almost twenty eight points in the

(01:14:56):
only player.

Speaker 2 (01:14:58):
In the first quarter.

Speaker 7 (01:14:59):
Yeah, we'll see how the trend continues though the next
couple of weeks, first Washington and Buffalo, and you know,
if Kelsey's still really been viewed as a top five tight.

Speaker 2 (01:15:10):
End in dantasy, A bunch of teams on a buy
this week Dan six teams on a by That means
getting the injury or report right is even more critical.
What's the injury watch look like?

Speaker 7 (01:15:22):
Yeah, you know, actually there's some good news sprinkled into
our bad news here. But let's start with tonight's game.
Ched I had one on here with Karen Jones. The
Vikings running back officially being activated from the IR He
is expected to be active tonight. I don't know what
type of roleways going to play, sort of buzzkill city. Honestly,
I hope we give one more week out of Jordan
Mason having that long volume. I do like the Vikings

(01:15:46):
to get rushing touchdowns tonight. I was in on that
Mason rushing yard. It's prop I'm sort of geting a
little more skitters. I like Mason more than Zones.

Speaker 10 (01:15:53):
For the season went.

Speaker 7 (01:15:54):
But with both of them there the values and beings,
I would probably still start Jordan Mason as in RB
two this week. Jan I'm probably waiting and seeing if
I can afford to do it. But looking ahead to
the rest of the games, let's start of the receiver position.

Speaker 10 (01:16:05):
NKO.

Speaker 7 (01:16:05):
Collin Stiel just has not even come close to practicing
since being concussed Monday's game at Seattle. Barring an extreme
miracle on Friday, he's likely out this week for the Texans.
That offense really needs him. Other receivers, I mean Mike Evans,
that was just terrible to watch Can cussed and broken
collar bone all on the same play after being out

(01:16:25):
for a month with the handstring injury. He's going to
come back, probably for the Bucks for their postseason round,
but not going to help fantasy managers in Season one league.
I think he can be safely dropped. Bucky Irving and
Chris Godwin also ruled out here per week eight for
the Bucks. They had Tampa Bay Ay buy it in
week nine, So keeping these guys just that extra two
more weeks where they get back tofield makes a lot
of sense. A quarterback good news in Baltimore. Lamar Jackson

(01:16:48):
is definitely trending on being in the right direction there
with his handstring issue. Jade Daniels, on the other hand,
has been ruled out already this week. Marcus Mario is
said to start at least this week Kansas City on
the Monday night game. Peebo Samuel and Terry mccainn good
news here for the Commanders, both by outs for fool
participants in today's practice. Samuel deal with the heel mcclorum

(01:17:09):
with the quad, but with the pre mentioned quarterback dilemma.
McLaurin and Samuel Mosley wide receiver three this week. Darren
Waller was a nice comeback story there for a couple
of weeks, but now placed on ir with Pectoris remind
me on their way to nowhere. He can also be dropping.
She's lung and Donkin Kate, you'll want to obleak injury
another tight end.

Speaker 10 (01:17:26):
It's injured.

Speaker 7 (01:17:26):
But he was a limited participant but today, so turning
in an optimistic direction for Sundays till first Carolina.

Speaker 2 (01:17:34):
All right, and then the big one, the important one.
Dan stud's dud's sleevers this week.

Speaker 7 (01:17:44):
Yeah, Quinn Sahn Sunpkins. He tops my stud list this week.
I got him inside my top ten at running back
and unfortunately I'm going against me. I'm like every major
league don't play. But needless to say, hopefully it doesn't
come right, but I think he'll have a big day
versus New England. He's proven matchup roof here. Drake Lundon
the other guy Miami, they have nothing on defense right now.

(01:18:05):
I am keeping my eyes on Michael Pennix. He was
a limited participant, but assuming he is all in there,
I think London's the top five play this week on
the dud side. DJ Moore is not one hundred percent
he is going to play, But I mean the guy's
been like a back of the baseball card stead if
you like five targets for three catches and forty something yards,
I mean DJ Moore is going to get to there.
The ceilings as low as it's been in his time

(01:18:25):
as a Bear, I don't think it gets hired this week.
T J Hockinson, even with six teams on bike, even
with all these injuries, he's been so littlely involved. I'm
sitting him tonight in one league for a guy I
just picked up off the waivers in a pretty deep format.
But he's tight end seventeen on my board, and frankly,
I'm not all that confident in a couple of sleepers.
I mean, we also what Flaco did last week. I mean,

(01:18:45):
with all the teams on the by, he's checking in
on QB sixteen on my board.

Speaker 5 (01:18:49):
This week.

Speaker 7 (01:18:49):
I like him for at least two touchdown passes in
two hundred and fifty yards, and certainly we've seen what
the ceiling looks like, so worth a grab there if
you're hurting a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:18:59):
And r J.

Speaker 7 (01:19:00):
Harvey one of the rookies, I really like coming and
he's ben buried on that depth chart there BEKINDJK. Dobbins
getting an increased role each week. I like the Bears
and the Broncos is a pretty good game to watch
this week. But I think Harvey's in that RB three
flex range and certainly a guy that' keeping my eyes
on down the stretch of the second half of the season.

Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
There been watching R. J. Harvey play for a long time.
He's really really good Fantasy football with the mission, Dan,
that's what do good fantasy is all about. Can you
explain how this supports DAV and why it's important to you.

Speaker 7 (01:19:31):
Yeah, I mean we talked about it out here a lot.
I mean, DAV we help a million mentions every year
by januarys. We do it all through free programs and services.
It's funded by donations. I created these fantasy leagues to
help veterans. It's fantasy football with the mission. This is
a great league JET because you make a thirty dollars donation.
You can set a lineup every week you want. You
can you can play one week, I play the next,
everybody you play. You can win big prizes. I got

(01:19:51):
a three thousand dollars in prizes donated from some of
the best fantasy companies in the industry. Check out all
of it for yourself. You can sign up learn more
donates aldo good Fantasy dot Com.

Speaker 2 (01:20:02):
All right, man, appreciate it, Thank you, and have a wonderful,
wonderful fantasy football weekend, my friend.

Speaker 7 (01:20:10):
All right, buddy, thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:20:11):
Here you go, Dan Klaskins, Good Sports Info. Take a
break our number three. Kegan Nicholson, Jeff ff car, Me
and Tarn talkin ball more after this the Moeggers Show
since Sinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty. Yeah, speaking as a retire
am thrilled. My company offered a four O one KP
No one.

Speaker 1 (01:20:29):
Covers the Bengals like ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati's sports station.

Speaker 2 (01:20:46):
Here you go, our number three, ripping through a Thursday
here in the palatial iHeart Studios. Chad brendle In for
Moeger thank you, thank you for choosing me. I have

(01:21:11):
I feel bad Taran, because initially, as I was scrambling
to put a show together last night, I asked Kegan
to come on at three forty five or three thirty
somewhere in there. Four forty five, sorry, four forty five.
That was Dan Claskins. So then I moved him to
four thirty, and then I botched the clock. Then I
moved him to five o'clock. But as Kegan knows, this

(01:21:33):
is just kind of part for the course working a
bear cut journal at Nobody.

Speaker 10 (01:21:39):
Yeah, it's basically just I.

Speaker 2 (01:21:41):
Blow with the whim, hurry up and wait wherever Chad.

Speaker 10 (01:21:45):
Wherever Chad needs me, That's where I am. It could
be twenty four hours notice, it could be a month's notice.

Speaker 4 (01:21:50):
You never know.

Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
I mean that's part of the fun of being in
this industry, right you just never know. Like I'm sure
a couple weeks ago you didn't envision today you would
be sitting on campus at the University of Arkansas getting
some work done.

Speaker 10 (01:22:04):
Absolutely, And I've gotten a ton of work done, and
now the best part of my day, talking to my
wonderful boss is here and I'm very excited for it.

Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
What's the weather like in Fayetteville today? Is it nice
and warm, crispy?

Speaker 10 (01:22:19):
It's probably about seventy This part was sunny when I
first got here, but now it's a little cloudy, so
it's nice right now.

Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
You were at Media Days, what was the impression what
was the vibe you got from West Miller and the
basketball team as we are eleven days from the start
of the season.

Speaker 13 (01:22:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:22:43):
I think the vibe I keep getting from the tip
off center, from watching the guys in the bench against
Michigan to now seeing media days is this feels like
a pretty close knit group in terms of the the
acclamation that Smillers put them through. So far, they seem

(01:23:03):
to really.

Speaker 4 (01:23:04):
Like each other.

Speaker 10 (01:23:04):
They seem to enjoy being around each other. I think
it's kind of it's hard to have a bad time
when you're around Kerkkrisa. That's the vibe that I'm getting
so far. He was awesome at media days, super funny,
super outgoing, and I got to talk to him for
a one on one story which should be done in
the next week or so before the start of the season.

(01:23:24):
But I think they're confident and I don't think that
they're playing with any pressure right now. That could partly
be because no A people rankings. They're right at the
middle of the pack that they told media pool to
start the season, and you know the pressure is coming
from within, and they're kind of setting their own standards
and their goals and not trying to play up any

(01:23:46):
expectations because no one really knows so far. I feel
like there's some uncertainties around this team, when last year
it was just you have so much talent, you have
to be good. Now they can kind of pave their
own way.

Speaker 2 (01:23:58):
Yeah, I mean there's a you know less. It built
up some goodwill over his first three years that got
them a pretty lofty ranking. They returned to a bunch
of players, they had a good, you know, a solid
showing in the first year in the Big Twelve. That
goodwill's gone. Now, much like Scott Sanderfield on the football side,
this team's gonna have to earn it. They're gonna have

(01:24:20):
to go out there and show that the roster that
he built this year is better than the one that
they built last year. Yeah, and my whole thing.

Speaker 10 (01:24:29):
If it doesn't work this year, I don't know what
else you need because you had the talented roster that
you could throw out on the court that didn't work.
And now Wes is big saying about this year, which
it makes a lot of sense, is that this is
the first roster that's made sense and all the puzzle
pieces have fit together since he's been here. So if
that doesn't work, then the confidence that he can get

(01:24:52):
the program back to where it was before under mccronin.
That's where it's gonna It's gonna be difficult, and I
don't really blame fans for wanting to change. But like
I said before, there's big confidence or big comfortability with
this group, and I think that they're confident that they're
going to come back to the tournament.

Speaker 2 (01:25:12):
We saw what we saw against Michigan. It's a different
style team than Arkansas, so you're going to be looking
for different things Tomorrow night at eight o'clock on SEC
Network Plus. What are you looking to see as they
take on a talented and uber athletic Arkansas team.

Speaker 10 (01:25:34):
I think after the Michigan game, the number one thing
you're looking for shawna Bias and you're just going to
be watching Shawnabia to see if he can do the
same stuff that he did against Michigan. Is he going
to keep hitting step back threes?

Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
Is he going to have a slow game.

Speaker 10 (01:25:48):
As a true freshman as he continues to get adjusted.
I'm also looking at Mustapha cham and Baba Miller. How
do they play, do they play on a similar weak
how they played against Michigan, Baba Miller was really involved
on the inside, on the defensive and offensive glass when
you know, he kind of comes here as a hybrid
point forward who can create offensively, and he's not exactly

(01:26:10):
the prototypical six' ten. Guy and Then Mustafa chama and
the shot two free throws AND i think they were
a combined what like seventy free throw shot in that.
Game so maybe he gets a little more aggressive down,
low tries to draw some salves and then you, know
Also tyra McKinley was three for three from the field seven.
POINTS i would like to see him get more involved,

(01:26:31):
offensively show off that the skyhook that he sometimes, uses
and just try to get comfortable down low on.

Speaker 2 (01:26:37):
Offense let's get to Football. Baylor first, off what time
do you anticipate getting back To Cincinnati?

Speaker 10 (01:26:47):
Saturday So i'm going to try to leave our goodsaw
around ELEVEN. Pm that's my, goal and it is ten
hours and sixteen minutes right now with traffic less TIME i,
checked so it could be close to the nine point
thirty nine five with, Traffic so Essentially i'll have fourteen,

(01:27:11):
hours sixteen hours.

Speaker 2 (01:27:13):
Maybe to drive ten.

Speaker 10 (01:27:15):
Hours so plan is get a quad shot latte after
the game From starbucks if there's one still. Open, Yeah
i'll take a pull some. Favors it's a Local. Starbucks
knocked out three, hours either sleep at a rest stop
or crashing a, hotel and then just power through the

(01:27:39):
rest of the. Way so my entire goal is to
be sitting in my press box seat by the time
that kickoff. Happens that's just WHAT i want to see.

Speaker 2 (01:27:47):
Happen we're just we're aiming straight for four, o'clock like
we'll get. There write a.

Speaker 10 (01:27:53):
Kickoff Yeahs over season is not for the faint of.
Heart this is this is the most difficult One i've
ever had to.

Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
Do but you're excited about. It you love it.

Speaker 14 (01:28:04):
Very.

Speaker 10 (01:28:04):
Much So albanize gummy. Bears that's that's the. Fuel that's
what everyone needs to.

Speaker 2 (01:28:08):
Know, OKAY i prefer The camino, variety but it's just.
ME i don't think you've had those. Before so when
you look At, baylor what what? What what has to?
Happen if you see is gonna? Win and what would
it be that we're talking About saturday? Night If baylor

(01:28:28):
pulls the, upset.

Speaker 10 (01:28:32):
If barrett pulls the, UPSET i think it's another down
game for the defense in terms Of baylor gets the
run game going a little, bit and then they take
the top off the defense a few, times which has
been against UC's kind of, identity and then it's no.
Turnovers if if you see can get one, turnover that

(01:28:54):
might end up guaranteeing a win for The bearcats because
the margin of bey are on offense is so slim
for both of these. Teams because you're going to give
up yards to This bearer, team WHO i think is
averaging thirty four to thirty five points a. Game you're
probably going to give up. Points you're not gonna be
perfect in the red zone like The cincinnati defense has
been so. Often but if you can get one of

(01:29:16):
those interceptions go back to that, WEEKS i think that
could really really guarantee a win and then also get
the run game going on. Offense it's been kind of
it's been spotty. Lately back to that games WHERE i
don't Think Evan pryor Or Tylie walkers the past fifty.
Yards that could be wrong on, that BUT i know
it hasn't been anything close to one hundred for either of,
Them so kind of getting back to that identity and

(01:29:39):
Not sully relying On Brennan soarersby to take a chunk
out on third down that you did Against Oklahoma.

Speaker 2 (01:29:45):
State Is cincinnati that maybe the team that tries to
play keep away in this, one like we saw them
Against Iowa. State they kind of dominated time of possession
in that. Game maybe they flipped the script here and
they say we're going to try to Keep baylor's offense
off the.

Speaker 10 (01:29:58):
Field, YEAH i think that would be a perfect. Idea
and it's about forcing. Turnovers it's about putting pressure on The.
Bears and if you can put them in a situation
where maybe you see wins the toss and the furs
and then they can hold the ball at the end
of the at the end of the first, half maybe
go down and get a, score force a, turnover and

(01:30:19):
then you can double up on. TOUCHDOWNS i think that
can really put it away because that's what you saw.

Speaker 2 (01:30:27):
For you see so many times this.

Speaker 10 (01:30:28):
Year so just keep the, momentum try to pound them
on the run, game dominate time of possession like you,
Said AND i think that's a perfect strategy to kind
of comfortably win this.

Speaker 2 (01:30:38):
Game how important is winning this? One BECAUSE i Think
baylor's a good, team but if you're looking you TALL
byu AND. Tcu not to take anything away From, arizona
but those three of the five that are, remaining those
are the three probably most difficult. Tests if you slip

(01:31:03):
up To, baylor it feels like your chances to win
The Big twelve or to make it To dallas take
a significant hit with those three remaining in the final,
four even though you know two of them are at.

Speaker 10 (01:31:16):
Home, YEAH i think at this point the goal of
getting To dallas and playing for a conference championship isn't
really a dream. Anymore like it's a legitimate possibility for this,
team especially how the cookie has crumbled throughout the rest
of The Big twelve and how tight that top of
The Big twelve. IS i think this is a must

(01:31:38):
win if you want to get to that, goal because
you're probably not going to end the season. UNDEFEATED i
think the floor right now for this team for me
is nine to. THREE i think you need to Beat
baylor In. Arizona those are two teams you're playing at
home who have had kind of disappointing years compared to,
expectations and you should go into those games favored and

(01:31:59):
you should.

Speaker 2 (01:32:00):
Win then it's.

Speaker 10 (01:32:01):
About stealing one or two of those games AGAINST Byu
utah AND TCU U TAH, tcu two good teams that
you're playing on the, road and then THAT byu. GAME i,
MEAN i don't know how the rest of the country
is going to kind of shuffle out here over the
next couple of, weeks but that could be a college
game day game both of those teams keep winning to
Undefeated big twelve teams Or Fox Big Noon kickoff Fifteen

(01:32:24):
ranks matchup Or Fox Big Moon. Kickoff, yeah whichever is
better for The big.

Speaker 2 (01:32:28):
Twelve and The big twelve is now A fox, entity
so it could Be Big Neon kickoff as.

Speaker 10 (01:32:32):
Well, absolutely but just that that big national audience, game
probably the biggest national audience since obviously they played in
nebraf on A, thursday but before, that Maybe Arkansas week
one and twenty twenty, two or THE cfp game in
twenty twenty, One so that game can kind of PUT
uc back on the, map and you have to put

(01:32:53):
yourself in a position to where if you drop a
game against one of Those big, three you still have
a chance to get to That BIG til championship game
and then just see what.

Speaker 2 (01:33:02):
Happens what what's the what's the vibes like on The
arkansas campus? Today it is it? Crowded is it it's sparsely?
Like what what's the what's the the energy.

Speaker 10 (01:33:13):
Like IT'S i don't, KNOW i might be family weekend
or something. Hoots, okay, yeah that makes. SENSE i don't
know typical college. CAMPUS i Think i'm on like one
of the corners of campus right. Now So i'm not
a ton going.

Speaker 11 (01:33:30):
On.

Speaker 10 (01:33:31):
Okay i've got somebodies who Cover arkansas from my time In,
Indiana so we're gonna go out and have some fun.

Speaker 2 (01:33:36):
Tonight are you gonna wu Pig sui at any?

Speaker 10 (01:33:39):
Point IF i, don't then that's a completely disappointing trip
to the. STATE i don't know what else you've come here.

Speaker 2 (01:33:45):
For were they were these the guys that were, there
of these guys THAT i sit next to them at your. Wedding, no, okay,
NO i wasn't sure where those guys were at, now
LIKE i you, know IT'S i Have i've lost touch with. Them,
yeah they're not At. Arkansas all, Right, well do you
enjoy the rest of your trip and you'd be safe

(01:34:07):
out there on the. ROADS i, Will, Okay, OH i.

Speaker 3 (01:34:10):
Will i'm going to.

Speaker 10 (01:34:11):
Do i'm going to do enough. Sleeping i've got to
worry about you worrying about me and especially my. Wife
So i'm going to make the smart.

Speaker 2 (01:34:17):
Decisions we're worried about, you. Buddy all, Right, man have
a safe, trip and then Follow keegan On twitter and
At Bearcat journal for information tomorrow night as The bearcats
take On, arkansas and then again On saturday as he
will make it From fayetteville back To cincinnati for The
baylor game for home. Coming thanks, Man you're awesome and

(01:34:39):
we appreciate.

Speaker 4 (01:34:40):
It, yeah appreciate. You you see.

Speaker 2 (01:34:42):
It all, right let's take a. Break jeff ff car
after this as we keep the guest rolling. On Since
CINCINNATI'S espn fifteen.

Speaker 12 (01:34:50):

Speaker 6 (01:34:56):
From THE Uc Health Traffic, Center man mcgraham sleeve lives

one three five eight four. Pink On County road three seventy,

Horse Branch road And Dixie highway On Madison, pike there

(01:35:16):
is an accident Between Highland pike And Kyle's lane in
southbound seventy. Five stop and go traffic From hoppel down
Towards Fort Washington. Way i'm at ezelic with.

Speaker 12 (01:35:26):
Traffic this Is football in The, nattie brought to you
in part By Postman law And Vice Skyline chile ON
espn fifteen point thirty to The Official hall of The Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (01:35:39):
BENGALS i love to sing this. One it's a lot
of it's a lot of it's a lot of beeps
on this, One, DARREN i know it take you an

(01:36:02):
hour to do this. Manually. Right, yes football on The
natty real. Quick Jeff carr is going to join us
talk reds here in a. Minute But bengals Linebacker Logan
wilson has requested a. Trade not, surprising, right like he
was lost his job to a. Rookie and it wasn't

(01:36:24):
really Because logan was playing extra. Poorly it was because
that The bengals felt they needed a, spark they needed a,
Change they needed to bring some new life to a
defense that is. Terrible and not surprised That Logan wilson
has requested a, trade according To Adam schefter And Ben.

(01:36:46):
Baby we will get to that in the next, segment
but for, now let's get to our, Guy jeff Ff
car and The Locked On reds, podcast The Locked On bearcats,
podcast where and every day Watch jeff Ff, car but
then also one day a week you can Watch jeff
Ff car talk to.

Speaker 11 (01:37:05):
Me absolutely and we're excited because there's so many good
football games that have, happened and so many good football
games that are on the.

Speaker 2 (01:37:15):
WAY i mean this kind of, like you, know we
we didn't Do week one, right, RIGHT.

Speaker 11 (01:37:22):
I wasn't in until after so, well ACTUALLY i came
in After Northwestern.

Speaker 2 (01:37:27):
State that's, right. Sir The bearcats are. Undefeated when you
AND i have done A Locked On bearcats, show people are,
SAYING i, Mean i'm you, Know i'm just. Saying i'm not,
saying But i'm just, saying we'll see if if it holds.
Up let's talk about The reds here for a little, bit, Though,
JEFF i keep hearing a lot of people, Saying ellie's
Got ellie's not a, Shortstop ellie's got to go, Somewhere

(01:37:49):
ellie's got to be moved out of the shortstop, position
and then the question is where do you move? Him
but for, me the question, is If ellie is not your,
shortstop who the hell Is you can't Move ellie out
of shortstop until you've got a shortstop to take over For.

Speaker 11 (01:38:05):
Elli, POTENTIALLY i think there's a pretty good baseline shortstop
already on the. Roster he's just been playing second. BASE
i Think matt McClain can be your. Shortstop he was
a better base line. Guy he didn't make as many,
errors it was more, efficient but also didn't have the
range and didn't have the higher end That ellie has
with his. Glove whenever he, played and even while he was,

(01:38:30):
playing The reds deemed it necessary to Play ellie at third.
Base it's just they decided, that you, know shortstop is his,
position that's where they'll put, him and then he JUST
i don't, know, Man, like there's this one statistic that
everybody's kind of honed in on with the errors and
things like, That but for it to be two years
in a row that he leads the league in, IT

(01:38:51):
i don't think it's. Nothing i'll say, THIS i still
think that he's the opening day, shortstop BUT i could
see a world where it makes sense that he's in center,
FIELD i can.

Speaker 2 (01:38:59):
Too i'm not ready to Put matt McLean in that
position either, Though, like, Yes matt McClain is, steady but
Until matt McLain shows that last year was a, Fluke
i'm not putting him in that. Role he just did.
Not you had a hard time making a case for
keeping him in the. Lineup if you move him to Short,

(01:39:21):
yeah maybe he's his baseline defensively is, good but if
he still can't, hit and the conversation is still you
can't put that guy out there every. Day you're still
looking for an everyday. Shortstop so for, Me i'm not
against Moving ellie to center. Field but for a team
that has drafted eight hundred and thirty seven shortstops in

(01:39:41):
the last two, years they don't have anybody THAT i
look at and say that guy's the shortstop going. Forward
if it's Not.

Speaker 11 (01:39:48):
Ellie well into their credit to like it's been athletes
that usually in the lower levels, baseball you play shortstop
when you were the best athlete on the. Team that
doesn't necessarcessarily mean that you are a good shortstop long.
Term it's just the ture. Athletic BUT i also understand
your point, too like you can't just make you can't

(01:40:09):
just Move ellie to another position thinking that will fix
it For, ellie because that really doesn't fix it for the.
Team and it felt like the infield defense was starting
to gel a little bit later on in the. Season
his struggles really, happened especially defensively In july And August,
september he seemed to sort of calm down a little bit,
more and then even on The matt McLain side of,

(01:40:31):
things his, BAT i felt like the underlying numbers a
lot of, power you, know like quality of contact. Stuff
hard hit rate was still, Fine it's just he wasn't
quite finding the spots in the. Field his badup was pretty,
low and his overall launching angle really just said he
was hitting too many pop flies. Basically SO i think

(01:40:51):
that he's going to bounce back in a big way next.
Season BUT i also see and the reason that the
outfield For ellie makes sense is a pitching philosophy that
is going Around Major League baseball that The reds have.
Adopted it's, clear at least they haven't come out and said,
it but there's a philosophy Around Major League baseball by
teams like The guardians and The, rays teams that we

(01:41:13):
want The reds to be at least how they run
their organizations. Anyway that, say if we give up a
thousand flyballs in the, season nine hundred of those are. Outs,
NOW i understand that that means that a hundred of
them are very unfavorable. Outcomes but we've seen that a
lot with This reds, team and that even home runs
don't necessarily sink their. Pitching but they are not a

(01:41:37):
ground ball pitching. Team as much as we have said
in the. Past it feels like they have to. Be
they've figured out a way to miss barrels and force
pop flies and force you, know easy outs into the.
Outfield so if your game now is to transition away
from getting ground balls to fly, balls move your best
gloves into the.

Speaker 2 (01:41:56):
Outfield, YEAH i don't know. THAT i love, that like
any of those teams playing a park that plays as
small As Great American, ballpark because, well, no, Right so
what's what's a what could? Be you, know nine hundred
outs and one hundred fly balls In cleveland could be
eight hundred outs and two hundred successful forays into the.

(01:42:18):
Outfield SO I i'm not ready to switch to that
philosophy just, yet BUT i understand it to an. EXTENT
i just it gets To june And july And Great
American ballpark and pop. Ups it feels like sometimes you're
watching go into the second.

Speaker 11 (01:42:37):
Row BUT i know this their most successful, pitcher at
least when he was healthy and on the, mound And
Hunter green had a flyball rate in the thirty percent
or had a ground ball rate in the thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:42:48):
Percent, yeah the other thing would, be. Okay let let's
say you're you're Moving ellie to. Centerfield that MOVES. Tj
friedel out center, field which, okay, Okay BUT. Tj friedel
is a guy that was getting on base at the
highest clip on a team that was terrible at getting on.

(01:43:10):
Bass you got to find somebody to replace, that, Right,
like this is not a situation where this team just
can plug and play somebody in the three sixty three
SEVENTY obp. Range uh to be on the base is
enough to get more runs around for this. Group SO

(01:43:31):
i think that you move him to left, field.

Speaker 11 (01:43:34):
You either platoon, him because he did start to show
that whole lefty lefty weakness last. Year his career split
still say that he has actually got a reverse but
he's better against lefties than he is against. Righties but
last year we started to see that right a little,
bit like that the waterfound its level in that split.
Category but at the same, TIME i think that he's
still a useful. Outfielder he could play in left, field,

(01:43:56):
though as opposed to play in in, centerfield WHERE i
think that would help him long. Term he's a guy
that constantly has different injury, issues not to the point
that he's missing a chunk of time here or, there
but it's, like you, know he has one season where
he misses eighty percent of the. Year the next year
he's fully, healthy but we see reports that he's dealing
with this or, that and then the next year he
misses eighty percent of the, time and then the year

(01:44:18):
after that he's really. Healthy but you, know we see
reports that he's dealing with this or with, that Because, nicolodolo,
Right BUT i think that you increase that durability by
moving him out of.

Speaker 2 (01:44:30):
Centerfield, YEAH i think that's. FAIR i think he does
at times it gets a little reckless in Center, oh.

Speaker 11 (01:44:37):
He plays he plays baseball Like Dwayne wade played.

Speaker 2 (01:44:39):
Basketball the only THING i question there is then you
still need some pops, somewhere and you're not getting it FROM.
Tj friedel in one of the corner.

Speaker 11 (01:44:49):
Spots but what you do is you when you Move
elliott to, centerfield you Move matt McLain to, short you Move.

Speaker 2 (01:44:58):
South, stewart you Move.

Speaker 11 (01:45:00):
South stewart to, first And Spencer steer to, second Because
Spencer steer loves second dayse.

Speaker 2 (01:45:07):
Or you could just Leave steer at first where he's
a gold glove potential, guy and you Put stewart a,
Second like there's at least options. THERE i Just I'm
I'm i'm hesitant to, Say, Okay matt McLain goes to,
short and we're not going to be at a point
In may where we're, like this guy can't we can't

(01:45:27):
play him because he can't get on base or hit
or do.

Speaker 11 (01:45:30):
Anything and also to the point of, that and looking
back towards the last side of, this like it's no
guarantee you moving the center field and he figures everything
out right. AWAY i, mean you're not exactly moving a
question mark to an. Answer it's still it's a different question.

Speaker 2 (01:45:47):
Mark, yes it's it's new, questions different answers, essentially so pitching,
wise that seems to be the area they have the most.
Surplus if there's, something a, trade something, big that's going
to happen this, offseason do you think it comes from that.

Speaker 18 (01:46:05):
Surplus, YES i think that they would be prudent to
Trade Brady, singer who is due to make the most
money on the, team at least through most projection systems'
calculations when it comes to his final year of, arbitration
there's somewhere between eleven and thirteen, million is what they're,
thinking which means that next.

Speaker 11 (01:46:24):
Year he would be the highest paid read outside of
them making some sort of free agent move or trade
move that acquires a larger. Contract SO i think that
that's the more prudent.

Speaker 2 (01:46:34):
Move but me and these.

Speaker 11 (01:46:35):
Rumors About Hunter green, persist and it feels as though
there's more smoke to this THAN i want to. ADMIT
i still believe that he is The reds opening day
starter in twenty twenty, six but it feels as though
there's constantly something more coming out about. This and it's
all because whenever he was, Asked nick crawled to the.

(01:46:56):
Hole let's play things close to the best thing and
not shut it. Down but by not shutting it, down
he gave it more. Life what does a haul For
Hunter green look? Like because to, me, Like i'm not
playing the give me your prospects game with a guy
that you have under control for what three more?

Speaker 2 (01:47:15):
Years, Right, Like i'm not doing.

Speaker 11 (01:47:18):
THAT i need solutions now for the. OUTFIELD i need
either a solution now or next year that replaces him
on the pitching staff and.

Speaker 2 (01:47:29):
Need a ready bullten.

Speaker 11 (01:47:30):
Arm, yeah like more more than. That it's interesting BECAUSE
i was on a show with A Boston it was
A boston, podcast and they suggested the idea Of Jared
duran their top outfield, prospect and Just Stinson garcia the,
password And Peyton, toley who is their top pitching prospect

(01:47:50):
who PITCHED i think a couple of games last year
for The Red sox and the major. Leagues AND i was, like,
now hang on a, minute that's intriguing because Just Stinson
garcia has a lot of. Power jareder we, KNOW i,
mean he was AN mvp can in twenty twenty, four
regressed a little bit in twenty twenty, five but still
can play center field at a very high level can
play left field pretty well as.

Speaker 2 (01:48:08):
Well and then On Peyton.

Speaker 11 (01:48:09):
Tolly's, part like he's a left hander with a lot of,
upside and that that would be the kind of trade
THAT i think should Keep nick crawl on the.

Speaker 4 (01:48:18):
PHONE i don't.

Speaker 11 (01:48:18):
Necessarily know if that specific specifically gets it, done but
that's the kind of thing that you, know as a
red sand we will hear the words if this were to,
happen we would hear the Words Hunter green traded and
immediately hate anything else about the. Trade but that's the
kind of deal that would make me at least raise
my eyebrows and, go, okay Maybe nick crawls onto something.

Speaker 2 (01:48:38):
Here, Yeah i'm with, you LIKE i would what you.
MENTIONED i would, listen but it better be something that,
big because it just doesn't make a lot of sense
to sell yourself short on a guy that you have
under control and is going to be a major part

(01:49:00):
of if this is, successful you Expect Hunter green to
be a major part of. It, yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:49:06):
Exactly and the kind of guy that there's not a
team in the league that would say he's he's not
at a great, value LIKE i mean the way that he.
Is you, know his contract looks the next couple of.
Years if he gets to the point where he throws
thirty starts and you, know maybe one, day doesn't miss
a start at all throughout the, year then he is

(01:49:26):
absolutely well worth the money because we know when he's
on the, mound he's got that ace.

Speaker 2 (01:49:31):
Stuff, yeah all, right, MAN i appreciate. It and you
you have yourself a, great great, weekend and wave when
you see me On. Saturday i'm Going i'm gonna.

Speaker 11 (01:49:42):
Wave you're gonna have to like kind of lean over
Because i'm like right up Barneathiander section one.

Speaker 1 (01:50:57):
Covers The bengals LIKE espn fifteen Thirty Cincinnati sports.

Speaker 2 (01:51:02):
Station this is just the instrumental So Logan wilson's saying right,
now we don't we don't that number thirty one defense

(01:51:27):
in THE. Nfl it ain't my. Fault it ain't my.
FAULT i might not, bring.

Speaker 6 (01:51:43):
But don't make me.

Speaker 2 (01:51:44):
Pay but don't make the. Devil don't date. That it
might not be, that not for. Real i'm on this label.
DOWN i felt like some people needed to be yelled
at in the car right. Now Logan wilson has requested to.
Trade he is the third round pick in the twenty twenty.

(01:52:07):
Draft he. Has he's had a solid career In, cincinnati
four seasons with one hundred, tackles four consecutive seasons with
one hundred, tackles thirty three in his rookie year in
twenty twenty one hundred and twenty, three one hundred and thirty,

(01:52:29):
five one hundred and. Four he's been the captain of the.
Defense he has been a big time player for some
really Good bengals. Teams but for whatever, reason AND i

(01:52:50):
don't necessarily disagree with the, reason the defense was not
playing well and they had to make, changes and they

(01:53:12):
did and and he ended up being one of, Them
SO i get. It the problem here, is what do
you get For Logan wilson right? Now do you maybe

(01:53:32):
get back that that fifth round pick.

For Logan? Wilson? Really, man have you seen what's? Like
there's been a lot of good players in THE. Nfl
go for, uh, fifth, sixth seventh round, picks, GUYS i
think that are a lot better Than Logan.

Speaker 4 (01:53:56):
Wilson if you're, desperate found a team desperate, enough, YEAH.

Speaker 2 (01:54:01):
I, mean you find a team that needs a. LINEBACKER
i GUESS i JUST i just don't know that you're
gonna GET i, mean, sure trade, him, right like, Whatever
make the trade your. Bett you, know you're you're betting
that you stay healthy with those two ricky ricky linebackers

(01:54:24):
if you Trade Logan. Wilson but, ultimately like you've moved
on From Logan wilson at this. Point once you do
something like, this there's not a lot of going. Back
there's not a lot of you know, what we messed
up on that. One we're gonna roll it. Back we're
gonna run it back With. Logan that's not how this.

(01:54:44):
Goes so you might as well move him at this.

Speaker 4 (01:54:50):
Point but he's not MOUs. Garrett no trade this, offseason
t that money came.

Speaker 2 (01:54:57):
In, no this is an okay, guy, Right he's okay
at this point in his. Career he's twenty, nine he's
about to be. Thirty i'm not saying like he could
definitely help a team right. Now he could go to
somebody and be. Useful so, YEAH i MEAN i. WOULD
i would find it hard to believe somebody would give

(01:55:18):
up more than like a fifth round, Pick but like you,
said if they're, desperate maybe you get a, FOURTH i.

Speaker 4 (01:55:22):
Said niners That niners just lost free At.

Speaker 2 (01:55:24):

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
