in part by Postman Law and Vice Skyline Chilly on
ESPN fifteen thirty to the official home of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
J Morrison from Bengals Talk dot Com and The Growler
Podcast joins us on Thursdays at Buy Jay Morrison on Twitter, Jay,
have you enjoyed the twenty four hours or so of
psychoanalysis of Joe Burrow?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
No, there's much more interesting things I think that we
could have talked about. But anything that guy does is news,
so you've got to react to it, all right.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
What is the appropriate reaction to what Joe Burrow put
on display yesterday?
Speaker 4 (00:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
I mean, honestly, I was more taken aback by what
he said after.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
The game Sunday and just kind of a flippant nature.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
And you know that he's so uber intense and you
just expect him to be really really mad about the loss,
and that was he was joking and that hab a
cookie crumbles, that kind of stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
That was more concerning yesterday.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
I mean, he did say it was personal and football.
I think people making nationally people are making too much.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Out of it. Just assuming he's.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Had enough in Cincinnati once out. I think it sounded
like something's going on in his personal life, and we
know he doesn't like birthdays, and everybody was giving him
gifts and singing to him and making him feel uncomfortable
and just just the guy having a bad day.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, I like birthday gifts, by the way. So here's
my next one question, and then this is the important one.
What's he buying the offensive lineman for Christmas this year?
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Yeah, we don't know yet.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
I think we'll find that out next week. But yeah,
that's a good question. It's gonna be hard to top
samurai swords.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
It is definitely going to be hard to top samurai swords.
What is happening with t Higgins right now?
Speaker 4 (01:59):
Yeah, still going through the protocol. He was limited again today.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
I just you know, when when these start stacking on
top of each other, you really get concerned. I no
one's told me anything, but I just I'd be surprised
if he plays this week. You need to take it,
you know, the more conservative, safer approach. Getting getting two
head injuries in the span of three games, it's it's
(02:24):
not good, and you know, the it's going to be
freezing cold lower than freezing cold on Sunday. That turk
is going to be even harder. And I just I
think the smart thing to do, well we'll be too
to sit him out again.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
He has to go, he has to go.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Through a full practice, non contact practice before you can
see the independent neurologist.
Speaker 4 (02:45):
And he didn't do that. He was limited again.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Today, So I would say it's definitely trending towards him
not playing.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
You've outlined this week how historically bad the Bengals are
against tight ends. It's worth noting Mark Andrews did pop
up on the injury report this week in Baltimore, and
so it's not that dissimilar from what we talked about
going into the first time these two teams played, Where
you worry about the middle of the field. Is there
as obvious answer as the rookie linebackers can play better.
(03:12):
Is there anything Al Golden can legitimately do to fix
something that has been as bad as the Bengals have
been at covering the middle of the field, specifically against
tight ends.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
No, I mean, you can't make these guys grow up
in a hurry. They're there that they believe they're getting better.
But it's incremental. They're not just going to be really
good and really aware overnight. And you know, part of
it is the aggression aspect, and they are they are
biting on play fakes and and really set to stop
(03:45):
the run. And that's going to be That was the
case with Buffalo, it's going to be the case again
with Baltimore. That maybe going man to man a lot
would maybe take care of some of that. But I
just I don't see that happening. I think they're just
going to have to live with it. And I don't
think that Bengal payers should be excited about the possibility
of Mark Andrews not playing because Isaiah Likely had a
ton of yards. He was more of the tired tight
(04:06):
end target than Mark Andrews was when they met on
Thanksgiving night. That just means more opportunities for him if
Andrews is out.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
I'm trying to find something to be excited about. Jay,
So no, I'm not excited about Isaiah Likely, or Mark
Andrews or pretty much anybody else. Not a lot. All right,
you're the man, Thanks so much.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
All Right, thanks Moe.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
