I I've been asked to do things and I say, yeah,
I'm interested, and I've been asked to do things where
I go, yes, I'm doing it. There is a little
bit of a difference, and we'll make that make sense
about how you Haneos Suarez, who apparently is there for
the taking. The Diamondbacks just got swept this week by
the Astros. They're not going to the playoffs. They should
(00:38):
be in cell mode. Can the Reds pri are you
Haneo Suarez off their hands? I hope the answer is yes.
We'll get to that a little bit later on. I'm Moegar.

Training Camp and his continued support of the Bengals all
these many years later. On Chad Brenda on the Bearcats.
UC starts fall camp next week and Jordan Crawford's going
to be on the show at five thirty three. The
former Xavier Musketeer will be at the Heritage Bank Center
on Saturday. I'm sorry, yeah on Saturday. Is part of
the Big Three that's at one o'clock. He plays on
(02:02):
a team with Dwight Howard. Jordan joins us at at
five thirty three. I don't know that I would go
totally uneventful day at Bengals training camp. This was a
day where clearly the offense had the upper hand. Joe
Burrow talked after yesterday's practice about how the defense won
day one, and I think that's fair. I don't know
that the defense won Day one in the same emphatic
(02:26):
way that the offense won Day two. And you know,
let's face it, that's what you expect. The Bengals have
offensive continuity. They have arguably the best quarterback in the sport.
They have two of the best wide receivers on the planet.
They have the same play caller. They have a lot
of continuity, they're running the same system, they have high
end weaponry. There's a lot of nons on the Bengals
(02:48):
offense the Bengals defense.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
Huh huh.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
And you know we're talking day to a training camp.
We're not talking hitting, we're not talking about putting on
the pads, we're not talking about going full bore eleven
on eleven. But the offense versus the defense on this
team not a lot of continuity, at least when it
comes to the coach and the system. A lot of
unknown variables in the secondary, Like you look at the
(03:12):
Bengals at wide receiver. It's pretty obvious, you know. You
know that if they maintain good health over the season,
you know what the individual statistical output for all of
the main components should look like. Maybe Jamar Chase isn't
gonna win the triple crown again, but in your minds Ah,
you know what those numbers look like. And same for
t Higgins and Mike Kasiki and Chase Brown and maybe,
(03:34):
by the way, no offense, who will talk about in
just a few minutes. Defensively, I don't know so on
on an average basis, I expect if we're gauging offense
versus defense, I expect the offense to have the upper hand.
What I'm kind of curious about is tomorrow does the
defense bounce back? And are there enough days where the
defense gets the better of the offense that it could
(03:55):
tell us about how much better Al Golden's unit's going
to be this upcoming season. So last night we saw
the news that Noah Fant is apparently going to be
in town today if he hasn't been in town already.
The tight end was cut over the weekend by the
Seattle Seahawks, and there's a really good sports talk radio
(04:18):
show that I listened to in Seattle, hosted by Dave
Softy Maller, and I listened to his show yesterday, the
podcast of it when they found out that Noah Fan
had been cut.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
And they were stunned. They were surprised.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Now, look, maybe this was purely a financial move by
the Seattle Seahawks. The head coach out there, Mike McDonald,
was kind of coy when asked what the reasons were.
But he's still noa Fan, just twenty seven years old.
He has been pretty productive over the course of his
career forty eight catches last season. He has averaged over
his six year career exactly fifty catches on a year
(04:56):
and a year on basis. You talk about kind of
knowing what his numbers are going to look like, fifty
to fifty five catches and roughly five hundred and fifty
to six hundred yards.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
So it's not really completely.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Known beyond maybe maybe it being a financial decision by
the Seattle Seahawks. Not really known from a football perspective
why the Seahawks moved on. But he's out there, and
Noah Fan's going to visit with other teams or at
least he's scheduled to unless the Bengals refused to let
him get away. So there's two different ways of looking
at this. One is what a guy like Noah Fan
(05:28):
could add to the Bengals, a more traditional inline tight
end than a guy like Mike Kasiki, a pretty good
run blocker. Mike Kasiki is essentially a wide receiver. He's
basically wide receiver three. And so Noah Fan, you know,
he's a guy that you could put on the field.
With Mike Kasiki, you could do more two tight end stuff.
And let's let's remember in the twenty twenty four draft,
(05:52):
the Bengals drafted two tight ends. Unfortunately one of them
isn't healthy and Eric All, and man, you talk about
somebody that so many of us just fell in love
with watching last year when he was healthy, Eric All
looked like the tight end the Bengals have been looking
for from my entire adult life.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
And it's neat that he's a local guy as well.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
He was coming off an injury, while he's dealing with
another injury, and I hope Eric All gets a chance
to play again, but he ain't gonna play for the
Bengals this year, and they took another tight end from
Arizona Tanner McLaughlin. Your guess is as good as mine
as to whether or not that guy can play. But
the point is this. If you recently thought so much
of your need at tight end that you went and
(06:32):
drafted too in the same offseason where you acquired Mike Gasicki,
and one of the two tight ends you drafted ain't playing,
and the other tight end you drafted you got later
in the draft and hasn't done a thing in the NFL,
then why would you not still be in the market
for a tight end. Of course, you're still looking for
a tight end, and it might not be the biggest priority,
(06:52):
but yes, you're looking to get better at every position.
I mean, come cut down day. If there are options
who are better than the the options you have at
any position, you at least look at bringing that guy
in to replace the player you have. So on board
with this, and if I'm Noah Fan, I go cool.
Let's see, Joe Burrow has gotten cj Uzama paid, he
(07:14):
has gotten hayden Hurst paid, He's kind of helped Mike
is Sicki get paid. I want to go and have
some of that. Joe Burrow does sprinkled on me and
see if I could parlay a productive season catching passes
in an offense to a contract somewhere else.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
So there's that.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Now there's also what Noah Fan isn't. He's not a guard,
he's not a safety, he's not a cornerback. He doesn't
play on the defensive line. I've seen on social media
some express reluctance about Noah Fan because of the positions
(07:50):
he doesn't play. This is wholly unfair. They're not going
out of their way to prioritize Noah Fen. They're not
trading for him. He's a player who became available if
the no offent version, or if the guard version of
(08:10):
no A Fan, I should say, becomes available.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Yes, if there is a player who has been in
the league for six years, who has played at a
pretty high level, been pretty productive for his team, pretty
consistent production. Might not be a star. But if there
is a player of that profile who plays guard or
corner or safety or defensive tackle, and a team cuts
(08:36):
that player, well, of course the Bengals should be interested. Now,
timing and fit and all those or other things will
be factored into the discussion. But you can't hold against
No A fan what he doesn't play. He's a guy
who got cut. He's now a free agent. The Bengals
are taking a look. If if the no A fan
of tight ends No, if the nofan of safeties gets
(09:00):
released by team X, yes the Bengals should be interested.
And yeah, it's fair to wonder. Should the Bengals have
been more proactive in free agency with safeties? I think
the answer is yes. Should they have been more proactive
when it comes to guard I think the answer is yes.
But because they haven't Number one doesn't mean you're not
looking for players who make you better at other positions.
(09:23):
And you can't judge no Offense by what he doesn't play.
That's not fair to him, it's not fair to what
the Bengals are trying to do. So I think what
we hope for here is that options become available that
might make sense to the Bengals. Options made available because
other teams get rid of them, either because of performance
or a numbers game or simple finances. If the no
(09:45):
offense of guards gets cut in the next week or
two by another NFL team, yes, yes they want that guy.
Yes they should be interested. Yes they should bring him
in for a visit. Same for the no offense of safety,
your corner, or any number of positions. But right now,
that's the player who was available. He's got a good
(10:06):
resume history of production, and I don't know that tight
end has gone from a need to a not need.
Again the draft two years ago, in the same offseason
they acquired Mike Kasiki, they took two and one of
them can't play because he's hurt. So why then wouldn't
(10:30):
tight end be a position you address and you can
talk about prioritizing. They haven't prioritized it. Prioritizing tight end
would have meant you go sign one in March. Kicking
the tires on a guy in late July is not
prioritizing a position. It's this dude's available, we think he
(10:50):
can help us. Let's take a look. The no offense
discourse cannot be about the position that he doesn't play.
And again, if tight end was such a priority that
less than a year and a half ago they took
two and one of them is unavailable and the other
is very unproven, why then would they not be prioritizing
(11:14):
a proven one. Now, sixteen minutes after three o'clock, five

in a Uhanio Souarez.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Brands of the Athletic Rights that there's musual interest between
the Reds and Diamondbacks in a trade involving possible trade
involving a Uhaneo Souarez. To quote the great George Grand
you know his story. He used to play here once,
had forty nine home runs in the season, has thirty
six this year with his tide. Sorry it's not tied.
(12:50):
It's third best in all of Major League Baseball, second
in the National League behind show Hey Otani thirty six
home runs this year. For what it's worth, we talk
often about like achieving clarity. So Euhenio Suarez has been
talked about now for a while. Is somebody that maybe
the Reds could trade for. And you know, part of
the conversation has been, well, are we sure?
Speaker 5 (13:10):
Are we sure?
Speaker 3 (13:11):
The Diamondbacks are going to be in cell mode? They
just got swept by the Houston Astros. They're three under
five hundred, they're five and a half out of the
last wildcard spot, and they would have to leap frog
four teams to get that last spot.
Speaker 5 (13:24):
Maybe they still can.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
They also have one of the best prospects in the
sport playing third base, trying to make some room for him,
and so it seems very likely that Auhaneo Suarez is
going to be dealt. In the same publication, the Athletic
dot Com, former Reds GM Jim Bowden outlines six teams
that could pull off a trade. He has the Reds sixth,
at the bottom of the list. Okay, first off, of
(13:49):
course the red should have interest in Auhenio Suarez. Of course,
of course it would be a bigger story if we
found out the Reds had no interest. Wait a minute,
you don't have any interest in a guy has thirty
six home runs? No, that would be a story. The
fact that there's interest is not. The fact that there's
mutual interest might be a story. We will see. I
(14:11):
don't know if a Uhanio Suarez makes them the favorites
to get that last wildcard spot. But a guy who
has his long ball potential, a guy who has his
track record uh I think represents represents a significant boost
to this offense and a major upgrade from what they
(14:32):
have been playing with all season long. He is maybe
the best position player available. He certainly it feels like
right now the best home run hitter available. And we
have said all year long the Reds need a thumper.
A Uhanneo Suarez is a thumper. So maybe they pull
off a deal for him, maybe it's at the deadline.
(14:54):
I'd love to see him.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
Do it now.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Like you, you want to talk about changing your brand,
or at least altering it a little, be the team
that says, screw it.
Speaker 5 (15:05):
We are jumping to the front of the line.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Seattle, Detroit, Milwaukee, Chicago, the Yankees, we are leapfrogging you.
We are jumping to the front of the line, and
we're gonna get him. And a Uhaneo Soarez is gonna
play for us no later than Monday night against the
La Dodgers.
Speaker 5 (15:26):
That would be the best. Here would be the worst,
not only that they.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Don't get them, but you find out after the fact
they could have gotten them, except the Reds were a
little bit too gun shy with their prospects. Here's what
I think we do sometimes as fans, we talk about
these things out of fear. Ce Trent in his piece
does a very good job of kind of outlining some
of the candidates to be traded, pointing out the Reds
(15:54):
have a nice surplus of starting pitching, but you know,
let's face it, they're not gonna trade Chase Burns, and
they're probably not going to be able to trade Rhett Louder.
But Chase Petty, who's stint in the big leagues this
year has been less than great. That said, it feels
like there's still a lot of upsides, still a lot
of people who feel like he could be an effective
(16:14):
big league pitcher.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
Uh Sea.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Trent does a good job of outlining some of the
possibilities in the infield. They have a he calls it
a surplus of young middle infielders. Sammy Sterfura, Tyson Lewis,
they just drafted Steele Hall. Edwin Arroyo was somebody that
he mentions. He also writes about the name Adam Serwanowski,
who is a six' five lefty whose stuff has gotten
better every. Year point being, like he gives some specific
(16:37):
players and more than just one or. TWO i think sometimes,
though we talk about such things and it's, like.
Speaker 5 (16:43):
Well, if what?
Speaker 3 (16:44):
If what if they give up too? Much, okay, well
do you have a surplus or? Not do you have
a good farm system or. Not you, know the draft
just took place and we got on people to talk
about the players The reds drafted because the studied prospects
and farm systems and stuff like. That AND i in
every INSTANCE i ask, like how good's The red's farm?
(17:06):
System AND i think two of them both use the
same verbid sneaky. Good one of the reasons why you
want a good farm system, is, yes to replenish your
needs at the big league, level but also.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
Have trade.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
Capital you can't do is be afraid. THAT, omg AND
i think a lot of us do.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
This what if they.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Trade let's just say for the sake of argument that
It's Chase petty Or Cam, collier whichever prospect you want to,
use and they go on to be really good somewhere. Else,
okay did you get what you were looking for from
the trade you? EXECUTED i brought this up before because
(17:45):
people have brought it up to. Me The reds traded
Away edwin And, carnassion who ended UP i still think
he hit more home runs in the twenty tens than
any other, player had a, really really good, career mainly In.
Toronto but The reds got exactly what they were looking.
For From scott rolling. Exactly gonda, argue maybe they held
on to him a little bit too, long but they
got exactly what they were looking, for and a lot
(18:06):
of what they were looking for were. Intangibles if you
if you buy, something if you give up, something but
what you get in return is exactly what you're looking,
for what do you care about what you gave? Up
so two things about. This Number, one you can't act
out of.
Speaker 5 (18:23):
Fear what? If what?
Speaker 3 (18:26):
If down the? Road who? Cares are you happy? With
are you confident and comfortable enough with what you're acquiring
that you think that player is going to perform at
a level that you don't care about what you've given
up two three years down the, road that's the. Question
if you trade For Auo haaneosuarez and he helps you
(18:47):
accomplish the goal of getting to the, postseason whoever they
trade can do, whatever AND i think you should be
okay with. It not really that interested right, Now and
guys that can help me in twenty twenty eight and
twenty twenty, nine not really all that interested, In like
what about the? Future two and a half games out
of a wild card, spot that's not. Insignificant it's also not.
(19:09):
Insurmountable go go do. It, ALSO i brought this up
probably fifteen times two years ago at the, deadline And
i've asked this periodically. Since if you have a good farm,
system and by many accounts The reds, do and you
have a little bit of a, surplus then by many
(19:32):
accounts The reds, do and you have a decent foundation
at the big league, level AND i think The reds.
Do does one trade totally derail your plans for the.
Future if, so your organization is not very. Good make the,
Trade make the, trade and do It july thirty, First
(19:56):
and that's. Fine but if you're really, interested really, interested
you're a little bit aggressive, here and there would be
nothing more refreshing after having watched this franchise for decades
than seeing it do something aggressive like jumping the line
to trade for a guy who has thirty six home,
runs who you're very familiar, with and who you can

Go, also and this was originally reported BY, Tmz Hulk
cogan passed away at the age of seventy. One it
would appear that he died of a cardiac. ARREST i
have not cared about professional wrestling SINCE i was, twelve
maybe thirteen years, old which is a while. Ago BUT
(23:02):
i said this on The Training camp show this morning
when we saw the, NEWS i think to either total
non wrestling, fans or more than, anything non wrestling fans
who are maybe fifteen twenty years younger than, me it's
almost hard to articulate how big Hul cogan, was.
Speaker 5 (23:28):
And like especially like you, KNOW.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
I, WAS i turned ten years old in nineteen eighty,
seven and at that stage in my, life there was
probably NOTHING i enjoyed more than watching pro wrestling On saturday,
mornings and not to really get into the weeds when
it comes to the history of pro, wrestling WHICH i
couldn't name for you four wrestlers right, now you, know
(23:52):
that's right when professional wrestling was becoming national and very very,
mainstream and the mask for that Was Hull. Cogan he
was on The Tonight, show he was on the cover
Of Sports. Illustrated HE i think he Hosted Saturday night a.
Lot he was, everywhere is, everywhere and so like as an,
(24:13):
adult you kind of started to learn some things About
Hull cogan later in life that were not. Great IF
i lived to be one hundred and fifty and never
see his sex tape, Again that'd be fine by. Me
If i'd never hear the audio of him dropping THE
n bomb, again that would be fine by. Me and
that CAUSED wwe to kind of get out of The
(24:34):
Hull cogan business for a. While but there was a, time,
man WHERE i think he legitimately was one of the
most famous people in The United states Of. America that
is not an. Exaggeration there was a. Time and If
i'm forty, seven so if you're roughly my age growing,
up like like you know later, on if especially people
are like really into pro, wrestling are, like, ah you know.
Speaker 5 (24:55):
What in the, ring he wasn't a great.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
Worker he was, awesome you know on the, mic and
he had a lot of, charisma but he wasn't a
great technical, wrestler which you, know who the hell Cares
as a, kid, though there were very few figures as,
omnipressing as powerful and as popular as As Hull cogan.
Was And taran asked me this, today WE i don't.
(25:17):
Know he asked me a question about A HAUL covid
And i'm, like, WELL i was a. KID i had
the Whole Commania Workout, Set and WHAT i remember most
about it was that the commercial for The Whole Comania
Workout set did not Include Hull. Covid it included mister
Wonderful paul Or.
Speaker 8 (25:32):

Speaker 10 (25:58):
Yet wo?
Speaker 3 (26:01):
Wow so what always stood out to me as a
kid was the commercial for The Whole Comedia Workout said
did not feature Hull. Cogan it featured a guy that
would go on to like be as big as, rival and,
like WHEN i was nine years, Old Paul orndorf turned
on Hul cogan AND i WAS i was like, crushed
that was like, devastated AND i didn't know WHAT i
(26:22):
would eventually know about professional. Wrestling, also it occurred to
me many many years later that if you really wanted
the true version of The Whole Comania Workouts, said it
would have included a lot of. Steroids but that's one
of those like figures of my youth WHEN i think
of being you, know, nine ten eleven years old and you,
know a huge sports. Fan pro wrestling at that stage
(26:45):
of my life was. Sports it was on Every saturday.
Morning and you often didn't see Hul cogan wrestle On
saturday mornings because of course they were keeping him for you,
know the bigger, events pay per views and stuff like.
That but you saw him all the time cutting promos
and uh so when he passed, AWAY i instantly my
mind just drifted to like being ten years old and
(27:08):
and like that was you, know he was the.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
Guy he.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
WAS i still think he's probably the most famous pro
wrestler of all. Time and you, know he made it
mainstream and and because of him and his, charisma he
cut across a lot of different barriers and lines for
a for an, Entity i'll call it a sport, here
for a sport that was very regional for most of its,
(27:33):
history THE wwf in the eighties became national and he
was the. Guy he was the guy that everything revolved.
Around and so that is one of the figures of my.
Youth and, again like as an, adult you learned a
lot of stuff About halcogan that it was LIKE i
WISH i didn't know that also a guest on this.
Show and and and if you hear this, song like
(27:53):
when when like if you're my, age you you hear,
this you hear, this come on you you still get,
fire you still get all you still get all fired
up when this comes. ON i believe the artist of this,
Song Rick, darringer passed away in the last year or.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
Too it comes it's a big.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
Deal like when this came on and he came, out
if you were a, kid like lost you lost your, mind,
man you absolutely lost your. Mind and we Had Hull
covid on this. Show december of twenty. Fourteen it was A.
Monday The bengals are playing The broncos that. Night that
was The Peyton manning For interception. Game AND i think
(28:37):
like the next, week THE wwe was going to be
at The Heritage Bank center and we were, asked, like you,
know they bought airtime with, us you, know would you
would you want to have somebody on from THE. Wwe
AND i said kind of half, serious like get his Whole.
Cogan and then a few hours later they're, like, yeah
you got a Hul cogan On, monday And i'm, like,
(28:58):
well that's, awesome but The bengals are Playing Playing theos
ends on the long list of on air segments that
have been lost to the ether that.
Speaker 5 (29:06):
We did not, keep that we did not, record that
we did not.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
Save we Had Hulk hogan on this, show and you,
know for the first like eight minutes of, it he
Was terry, Right terry was his real, Name and THEN
i asked, him, like can you cut a promo For
Peyton manning tonight playing The? Bengals and he turned Into
Hulk cogan and started yelling and screaming About Peyton. Manning
And i'm sitting there listening to, this having this conversation
(29:32):
going like the nine year old version of me is
losing his mind right now because he's Getting Hulk hogan
to cut a promo in his. Show that was one
of my favorite moments ever doing. So Hulk hogan passes
away at the age of seventy, one And i'm not
ashamed to say that a little part of my youth
died WHEN i saw that news originally reported BY, tmc
(29:53):
And i'll never forget WHEN i saw THAT i was
sitting next To Tony, pike who joins us next ON

Speaker 5 (31:01):

doing all?
Speaker 6 (31:05):
Right?
Speaker 9 (31:05):
No how are?
Speaker 11 (31:06):
You you?
Speaker 3 (31:06):
Know i'm doing really. Well i'm thrilled to have you,
on and there's a lot to talk. About let's begin
with the story of the. Day yesterday Was Joe burrow
wasn't happy because the defense got the best of the.
Speaker 5 (31:17):
Offense day. One day two seems to be a different.
Speaker 11 (31:20):
Story, yeah let's start with day, one because you AND
i are obviously down. THERE i didn't leave practice number one, thinking,
man the defense crust the. Offense, now you could say
Maybe Joe burrow miss some, throws you could say maybe
they had some. BREAKDOWNS i still contest that yesterday was
more Of, Man we've had a whole off season of
(31:42):
hearing how good we. Are we've had a whole off
season about how the offense did their job the defense.
Didn't AND i think that was a calculated effort From
Joe burrow to come out and, say, look we weren't
good enough defense one. Today let's build the defensive side
up a little. Bit but also we need to get.
Better and maybe in the locker, room when you hear
something like, that you, say, OH i thought we were.
Okay now we need to raise our.
Speaker 9 (32:03):
Level you.
Speaker 11 (32:04):
Know he talked yesterday as well about never being. Satisfied
he wants to work on every part of his game
because the second you stop doing, it someone else is
going to pass. You SO i think, yes yesterday was
more of a mindset and setting a tone for the
rest of training, camp because today it wasn't fifty to.
Fifty it was domination from what the offense was able to.
(32:25):
Do it was WHAT i expected when you have an
offense as good as what The bengals are right, now
with a defense that's trying to learn on the fly
with it a lot of young. Players today was a
lot more of WHAT i expect to, see at least
early on in training camp from the.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
Offense So Noah fan was cut loose by The Seattle
seahawks appears to be salary cap related reportedly visiting The bengals.
Today i'm completely okay with. This he's a good. Weapon
he fits the mold of a guy Like Hayden. Hurst
The bengals had to need a tight end last year
in the. Draft one of those guys they drafted isn't
(32:59):
going to the other guy has done nothing in THE,
nfl so it's still a. NEED i get pushback to
this that, says, well he's not a. Guard he doesn't play.
Corner that's. Okay The Seattle seahawks didn't cut a. Guard
they didn't cut a. Corner they cut a tight end
and a decent. One they should have interest in.
Speaker 5 (33:17):
Him.
Speaker 11 (33:17):
Correct this team has more than enough. Money if it
was a conversation of, well The bengals HAVE x amount of,
dollars they have money that they can sign one more,
player THEN i could, See, okay maybe there's a little.
Pushback this team is not up against the. Cap they
have money to. Spend AND i simply go to the
point of would The bengals be better tonight If Noah
(33:37):
fense was a member of The, bengals then when if
he Left cincinnati and went To Vision miller, team AND
i would come back to the same argument that they
would be better right now than they were. Before, so
if it's a move that can make your team, better
and it's a move that can make your quarterback and
your franchise player happier and also helping the past protection
(33:58):
and helping the running, game because more options and more
ways that you can scheme to get the ball out
Of Joe burrow's, HANDS i would be all for. IT
i don't know or quite understand the pushback that you
get when you talk about the move of adding another
weapon For Joe.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
Burrow it's not prioritizing a tight end if you wait
until a team cuts one In july to sign.
Speaker 11 (34:18):
Them, correct and, again what are you losing if it
doesn't work out a? Year and then guess what you?
Get Eric, allback who is wowed in. Opportunities to, me
there's no there's no negative in the. Situation you ad
you add a player who can help you, now and
(34:38):
if it doesn't work, out you're going to get a
player just as, good if not, better coming back next.
Speaker 5 (34:42):
Year all, Right SO i have three poll questions On.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
TWITTER i would imagine that one of them you would
answer yes to should The bengals Sign Noah? Fan you're
okay with, that, yes? Absolutely would you like to answer
the other two for?
Speaker 12 (34:53):
Me?
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Please now these are Not bengals, RELATED i will admit to.
You question number, two should The reds jump to the
in front of the, line beat everyone to the punch
and trade for A Uhaneo? Suarez two options either a
yes OR b no because of prospects or SOMETHING a.
Speaker 11 (35:11):
YES i am so tired from A red standpoint of just, saying,
well let's wait till guys. Develop we've seen if you
have opportunities to go win or try to. Win, now
what are you? Mortgaging what are you giving? Up this
organization has been in the same dilemma SINCE i can.
Remember try to do something that finally moves the needle
in your favor and go make a play to bring
(35:31):
a player back who's already been In cincinnati and he's
producing at a high.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
Level all, right one, more this is Neither reds Or bengals.
RELATED A New jersey little leaguer is being suspended because
he flipped his bed after hitting a home run in
a recent. Game this is a beyond silly or be
justified punishment because respect the game or something beyond.
Speaker 11 (35:51):
Silly that might be one of the bigger Offenses i've
seen of what they've done to this kid that what
celebrates the home? Run are we not allowed to celebrate greatness?
Anymore are we not allowed to get excited anymore about
doing good? THINGS i say celebrate, IT i say back
off from the little.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
Leaguer all, right it sounds like you have all hell
breaking loose behind, You so we'll chat.
Speaker 5 (36:11):
Again coming up in forty.
Speaker 11 (36:12):

EGGER i was told today THAT i have never gone
after a player more THAN i went After Trey. Hendrickson

About Trey, hendrickson and Now i'm gonna elaborate on it
next ON espn fifteen.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Thirty now your chance to win one thousand. Dollars enter

Speaker 5 (37:29):
Tweet From Bob.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
Nightingale Bob nightingale is like the main baseball guy AT usa.
Speaker 5 (37:34):
Today Bob, nightdale his, son used to cover The reds
for The Cincinnati. Inquire.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
Bobby he writes, this The mariners And yankees are the
most aggressive teams Pursuing Arizona diamondbacks all star third basement
U Hanios, farees with a handful of other teams still in.
Pursuit if you want the, guy you're gonna have to be.
Bold you're gonna have to be. Aggressive what two words
do we often not use in describing The Cincinnati, Reds
(38:01):
bold and? Aggressive at some, point change your brand and
if you could do so by getting a dude who's
third in the sport and home.
Speaker 5 (38:08):
Runs, okay do.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
You want another version of you know, that THE c
PLUS b minus type guy that the red spent the
offseason pursuing In that sounds harsh because Obviously Austin hayes
has had his moments And Gavin lux has had his,
moments And Jose travino has been a very good. Pickup
but like or do you want AN a? Lister and you,
know maybe you think this is a mirage for Au
(38:32):
haaneos Frez Ah no Man. A three dudes have as
many as thirty six home. Runs look at those. Names
look at those names on that. List right we're. Talking
we're talking about The Sports. Royalty Cal Ralely Aaron Judge, Show,
hey O tani and Then Kyle schwarber's right behind.
Speaker 5 (38:51):
Him, yeah give, me give, me give me a dude
who's in that. Mix Gimme.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Geno but you're gonna have to be aggressive in pursuit
means behind. Right if you watch car racing or horse,
racing the cars and the horses in pursuit are not
the ones. Leading jump to the front of the. Line
trade for him, Now trade for him? Now why? NOT i?
Said brandanman And jones on baseball coming, Up Chad brenda's
(39:17):

once we get into college, Football chad chats with. Us,
OBVIOUSLY u see starts fall camp next, week so we'll

gonna join us at four twenty tomorrow in the. Show
Phil steele is going to be with. Us phil joins
us Every july to preview the upcoming college football. Season
(39:38):
AND i have been told that we are getting an
in studio visit from Ice, cube AND i don't know
that there will ever be a day Where Tarren bland
has been more excited to come to. Work might try
to hijack him for his show on The, Beat we'll.
SEE i have been told that Ice cube is going
to be on this show in studio. Tomorrow and you
talk about the thirteen year old version of me being,
(40:00):
excited Ice cube will excite the thirteen year old version of.
Me yesterday we talked About Trey hendrickson and his stated
desire to be a, captain Which i'm sure what he
says he thinks is, genuine and then we talked about
it even more today on The Training camp show With
(40:21):
tony From Bengals, practice and my Cousin jared sent me
a text and, Said i've never heard you go after
somebody the way he went After Trey, hendrickson AND I
i don't know if that's accurate or. NOT i don't
have a catalog of people That i've gone. After WHEN
i go after, people it's because of performance and things
they do that affect the team's chances to. Win it's never,
(40:43):
personal no reason to have an axe to grind With Trey.
Hendrickson BUT i do find the concept silly OF i
am In, jacksonville my team is. Practicing i'm going to
be a. Captain Though.
Speaker 5 (40:58):
I've spent a.
Speaker 3 (40:59):
Lot of time crusading for a longer, contract more. Money
i've shot myself to other. Teams but, Yeah i'm gonna
be a. Captain it is. Possible it is legal to
come to, practice be a training, camp be on the
(41:19):
field with your, teammates be in the meeting room with
your teammates while contract negotiations are. HAPPENING a contract negotiation
doesn't have to be. Contentious it doesn't have to be,
controversial it doesn't have to be played out. Publicly trey
has taken a path where it's gotten kind of. Contentious
(41:40):
by his own, admissions said it was. Personal it's kind
of taken on a life of its, own and he
very much has negotiated through the media and The bengals
have been asked About Trey, hendrickson and obviously their side
has said some things about, him the approach he has
taken at face. Value, fine you're using your, leverage which
(42:01):
is your. Availability you're protecting yourself against. INJURY i guess
availability for an athlete is often the most important card
they can.
Speaker 5 (42:10):
Play it is his.
Speaker 3 (42:11):
Prerogative if he chooses to sit out and incur the
fines that could come his, way that's his. Business i'm
not going to lose an ounce of sleep worrying About
Trey hendrickson missing out on fifty thousand dollars that he
has to pay for not coming to. Practice that's his,
business not. Mine but if you say you want to
be a, captain the way that makes sense to me
(42:33):
is you demonstrate the willingness to do what a captain.
Does in my, opinion and maybe it's just me and
MAYBE i have a very sort, OF i don't, know
overly basic elementary way of looking at, this but the
captain's way of doing What trey is trying to accomplish is,
(42:53):
negotiate have his agent, Negotiate have the negotiations play out
behind the scene while you're here and you're Mentoring.
Speaker 5 (43:05):
Miles.
Speaker 3 (43:06):
Murphy ideally maybe one day If Shamar stewart comes to his.
Senses you're Mentoring Shamar stewart and you're being the guy
standing next To Al golden in, practice going. Coach this
team's putting a lot on, you a lot riding on
you making this defense. Better there's lots of moving. Parts
it's always a tough transition when a new coordinator comes.
Speaker 5 (43:29):
In i'm going to be attached to your.
Speaker 3 (43:31):
Hid i'm going to be the guy who helps bridge
this unit from what it was to what it needs
to be this. Year that might sound stupid to, you
but that option is on the. Table Trey hendrickson is
under contract for the for The. Bengals to The, BENGALS
i should, say so.
Speaker 5 (43:48):
You want to be a.
Speaker 3 (43:49):
Captain you could SAY i want to be a, captain
or you could show the willingness to be a captain
and show demonstrate the willingness to do things that captains.
Do WHEN i think of team, captains and again this
might be a very story book way of looking at,
it but WHEN i think of, CAPTAINS i think of,
leaders AND i think of players who are. Selfless What
(44:13):
Trey hendrickson is doing is selfish that is not a.
Criticism sometimes in life.
Speaker 5 (44:17):
You have to be.
Speaker 3 (44:18):
Selfish god knows plenty of times in my CAREER i
have chosen to be, selfish and Usually i've had good.
Reason but if you're gonna be, selfish you can't then
talk about how you really want to be, selfless want
to be a? Captain get here you are allowed to. Negotiate,
look we might not have loved How Jamar chase handled
(44:40):
his hold in last, year and, frankly as much as
we Love, JAMAR i think it cost The Bengals week
one against The. Patriots i'll never know, this none of
us ever. Will i'll be willing to bet If Jamar
chase would have gone through training camp last, year The
bengals would have Beaten New england week. One and had
they done, that they're a playoff. Team but he was
at least, Around and, yeah The jamar thing kind of
(45:01):
took on a life of its. Own but you, know
he didn't grandstand every. Day he didn't go on a
bunch of podcasts and radio. Shows he didn't see him
on set With pat. McAfee he wasn't breaking off phone
calls To Diana russini like the negotiations took place kind
of in. Private jamar was. Around the thing did kind
of take on a life of its, own but he was.
There he did more to lead Than Trey hendrickson's doing right.
(45:25):
Now so That's it's not THAT i Think trey is
a bad. Guy comes off as an extremely good.
Speaker 4 (45:34):
Dude.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
Often he's certainly a terrific. PLAYER i think he's the
greatest free agent acquisition in franchise. History, frankly when The
bengals Acquired Trey, hendrickson he proved a lot of people
wrong who thought that he just was a sack compiler
on a team that you, know just they faced a
lot of third and longs In New orleans on, defense
and he picked up some sacks that in the grand
(45:56):
scheme of, things didn't matter all that. Much it's a
very good. Player he deserves a pay, Raise no one
will deny. That but you are allowed to negotiate while you're.
Practicing AND i think we've almost and WHEN i say,
WE i JUST i think we as people who love the,
sport who follow football and maybe other, sports it's almost
(46:16):
as if it's either unreasonable to ask a player to
play when they have one year left on their deal
or it's absurd to suggest that a player can, negotiate
and he can while he has just one year left
on his. Contract what would show me a lot about
his leadership and captaincy. Candidacy what would show me a
(46:37):
lot would Be, Look i'm gonna. Come i'm not going
to talk about my. CONTRACT i want to Help. AL
i want to help these other dudes on the d
Line we've Got we've got a little bit of a
leadership gap Because Sam hubbard's not here And Jermaine pratt's not.
Here this is a year where we're going to be
judged by whether or not we compete for a. Title
our defense has to be better and in training, CAMP
(46:59):
i want to be one of those reasons why our
defense takes a major step. FORWARD i want to be
The Joe burrow of our. DEFENSE i want to Help
Al Golden and If Shamar stewart ever realizes that he's
doing things incorrectly and shows, UP i want to you,
know he talked To Diana russini in The athletic About
Shamar stewart and wanting to work with. Him, okay get
here and then if the dude shows, up you're.
Speaker 5 (47:20):
Here you're here. Helping that's what a captain.
Speaker 3 (47:24):
Does it's nothing Against Trey, hendrickson and it's nothing really
against his. POSITION i gotta be honest with. You i'm
not SURE i wouldn't do What trey is, doing at
least in terms of the.
Speaker 5 (47:34):
Holdout BUT i wouldn't.
Speaker 3 (47:36):
ONE i wouldn't really talk then about being a, Captain
like once you've, Decided, Hey i'm gonna shot, Yourself i'm
gonna shot myself in the. Trade i'm gonna only talk
about my. Contract i'm gonna show up at practice and
wine That Zach taylor told me in a text THAT
i can be Fined like in none of those instances
has he talked about Al, golden the, defense the goals
(47:58):
of the, team or anything. Else and what a captain
does is he puts those things, first at least.
Speaker 5 (48:04):
Publicly so all, right we went After. Trey god.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
Knows trey probably either has no idea that a dude
on the radio one after, him or if he did,
know couldn't care. Less but to, me it would be
you want to be a, captain get here, tomorrow show up,
tomorrow put the pads, on put a helmet, on show
up at, practice be in the, meetings be a, solution.
Speaker 5 (48:27):
And have your.
Speaker 3 (48:28):
Representation hopefully continue to negotiate with The. Bengals by the,
way if you want to, win because it appears That
trey is interested in winning the battle of public. Opinion
because if, not why would you have shown up At
mini caamp to grandstand about your. Contract why would you
go On pat McAfee multiple? Times why would you be
(48:49):
given quotes about your position versus The bengals if you
didn't care about public. Opinion you really want to bring
people over to your. Side you really want to bring
people over to your. Side get on a plane the,
night jump on a, plane fly, home show up, tomorrow
be on the, field be in the, meetings say no
(49:09):
comment when it comes to your. Contract talk about HOW
i love, BALL i love my. Teammates we have a
lot to do this. YEAR i want to. Help, NO
i don't want to play under my current. Contract hopefully
that all plays itself. Out BUT i want to be a,
captain want to be a part of the. SOLUTION i
want my teammates to think as highly of me AS
i think of. Me and so, Yeah i'm gonna be.
(49:31):
Here and it's not just about not getting. FINED i
want to be a. Captain i'm gonna do the things
that a captain, does and we're gonna negotiate and hopefully
something gets. Done now you might, go wait a, minute
what if he's gonna hold out until the season. Starts,
OKAY i still refuse to believe that that's gonna. HAPPEN
i take the threat a little bit more seriously because
we're dealing with a different type of guy. Here BUT
(49:55):
i just if the likelihood still feels like and to
me it. Does he's gonna show up week one to
play because he's not going to give up the paycheck
and he wants to be a, captain do the things
that captains, do show, up help and in the, process
don't get. Fined your phone calls are well coming. Up five. P, one, three, seven, four,

work you see it agains fall camp is that there's
got to be a long list of stuff That Scott
saderfield has to figure.
Speaker 5 (52:36):
Out what's at the top of that.
Speaker 13 (52:37):
LIST i think the biggest couple questions one for, me
wide receiver.
Speaker 4 (52:48):
Really stands out BECAUSE i think you've got a more
than serviceable big twelve starting quarterback, too potentially really good
big twelve starting quarterback In Brendan. Soersby and you should
have a strong offensive, line and you should have a
good running back. Room Joe royer is your tight. End
the only thing we don't know because essentially everybody's. New
(53:11):
how about, This, Moses this makes you feel. Good Barry
jackson is the only wide receiver on the roster to
have caught a forward pass at The university Of.
Speaker 9 (53:20):
Cincinnati.
Speaker 4 (53:21):
Great, Yeah so you, know if if you're gonna get
up to you, Know Dave simone on THE bcj podcast last,
night like he's adamant that if it's gonna get where
they want to get, it they've got to score thirty
points a. Game the only way you're gonna score thirty
points a game is if you're good at wide. Receiver
(53:43):
they've got a couple of GUYS i Like Iris Allen Jeff.
Caldwell those two GUYS i think are as, good are
better than they've had in recent. History so you, know
you hope that they can be the. Answer but wide
receiver is a huge for. Me and then can they
get a pass? RUSH i, mean this is going to
(54:04):
be a really good quarterback league in twenty twenty. Five
if the quarterback can just stand back there and pick
a part of, Defense cincinnati's defense is going to be
in trouble and they're not going to be as good
as you, KNOW i Think Tyson bite envisions them. Being
those are the two big spots for me as we
go into.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
Camp all, right, well fling it back to the guy
you called. Serviceable he wasn't even that in the second
half of the season last. YEAR i there's so MUCH
i like About Brendan sorosby right from a leadership, perspective in,
tangibles helping to recruit, kids like you, know you talk
to people in the, program they, say like he brings
professionalism to the. Job there's so much THAT i. Like
BUT i hated watching him those last five. Games how
(54:46):
much of that do you put directly on him versus
the circumstances around.
Speaker 4 (54:49):
Him there's a decent amount that's on him because there
were you, know you go back to The West virginia
game that was on. Him that wasn't a product of you,
know a bad offensive line or whatever it. Was he
just tried to force, things made bad, plays put his
team in a bad situation and it ended up resulting
(55:11):
in a, loss and that stuff can't, happen especially now
he started half a season In, indiana he started a
full season At. Cincinnati this is now a veteran, quarterback,
though and veteran quarterbacks do not put their teams behind
the eight ball in close. Games and you, know that's
(55:31):
the big step he has to. Make sometimes you got
to take the. Sack sometimes you've got to have the
wherewithal to throw it out of. Bounds and last, year at,
times especially down the, stretch he made the wrong. Play
and that's got to be a maturity level from him
that increases going into his junior.
Speaker 3 (55:51):
Season when you talk about the, DEFENSE i think number,
one people are going to say second year with this
particular scheme With Tyson vite number. Two you, know last
Year Dante corleone had to play catch up from week.
One they had some early season injuries on the defensive.
Line that should automatically be better this. Year is that
a fair or reasonable?
Speaker 5 (56:10):
Assessment absolutely?
Speaker 4 (56:13):
REASONABLE i mean, ONE i thought the defense as we
got towards the end of the year improved quite a.
Bit LIKE i thought they were playing pretty good ball
by the end.
Speaker 9 (56:23):
Of the football.
Speaker 4 (56:23):
Season and that is a defense that we know works
in this league because it's worked for a decade At Iowa.
State and this, is you, know almost a knockoff of that.
Defense so the defense can. Work what are you going
to get out of? Corleone you know in a year
(56:45):
where he should be back to full. Health you should
have a really strong linebacker, group veterans across the. Board
you've got some young energy in that. Room can they
be better in the secondary because they boy went from
one the best secondary in the, nation maybe one of
(57:06):
the best secondaries in the history of college. Football and
that's not, Hyperbole like if you look at how all
those guys have turned, out what they look like in
the pros? Two can they cover? Anything and you know
it's it's a situation where they're relying heavily On matthew
(57:27):
McDoom to be a number one. CORNER i think they're
relying heavily On Logan wilson to make that switch from
safety to. Corner if those two position, group but those
two spots in the defense are, GOOD i think this
is going to be a really good defense because they
have a lot of the other requisite.
Speaker 3 (57:45):
Pieces special teams is interesting to. Me first of, all
it has to be better and it's not just missing field,
Goals like every operation towards.
Speaker 5 (57:53):
The end of the season was a. Mess so, yeah
they move on From Carrie.
Speaker 3 (57:57):
Colmes at the outset of the, Offseason Scott sadderfield's telling, everybody,
well we're all going to sort of chip in on special, teams,
okay and then midway THROUGH i think it was after,
springball they hire a special teams. Coach is that all
going to add up to a unit that can help
The bearcats win games in the?
Speaker 4 (58:13):
Margins that's the that's the, hope that's the that's the,
DREAM i guess you could put. IT i think it
was an a situation where really they were kind of
thinking it was going to be by, committee and then
they had a chance to get you, know a really
(58:34):
good younger not, younger but like a really good up
and coming special teams, coordinator and they jumped on that. Opportunity, look,
well special teams lost them games last.
Speaker 9 (58:48):
Year, yes special teams was.
Speaker 4 (58:51):
Dreadful it was that five game losing, STREAK i, mean
and it wasn't one phase of special, teams it was
most of. Them and if they can get that fixed
and stop this situation they had where they were just
getting dominated in field, position they couldn't get, points like
(59:13):
it was just a. Wreck and if it's even decent,
now it's what The bengals, defense, right if they can
go from bad to, decent then this thing might be
in a pretty good. Place it might not win them,
games ALTHOUGH i you, Know i'll see if you get,
THIS i think you. Will i've seen a punter win a. Game, yes,
(59:35):
Yeah Kevin Huber rutgers defend them at the one what
twice and at the three? Ones Like i've seen a
punter win a.
Speaker 3 (59:44):
Game Brian kelly said that Season Kevin huber was their best.
Player look at the talent on that. Team that says something.
Speaker 4 (59:50):
Right so you, know just little, stuff make make the
chip shot field, goals you, know be able to get
good hang time on your. Punts day brought up a great,
Point like everybody last year was raving About Mason fletcher
the tackle he made Against West. Virginia, yeah that tackle
was thirty yards down the. Field, Meal, Yeah West virginia
(01:00:12):
took over at the thirty two yard, line, Right, like, okay,
great he made a nice hit on that, play but
it was a play that costs you in part helped
cost you the. Game so if they can fix special,
teams that at least mitigates some of the like margin of,
air because this is a league where the games are
going to be. Close like we are well aware of
(01:00:34):
that most of the games in this league are going
to be. Close if your special teams are, bad, boy
you have made things significantly more difficult on.
Speaker 5 (01:00:42):
Yourself i'm looking on the.
Speaker 3 (01:00:43):
Schedule you are in for me Next. Thursday they haven't
put Out august, yet BUT i see you are here Next.
Thursday so is The?
Speaker 9 (01:00:49):
Thursday?
Speaker 14 (01:00:50):
OKAY i Thought.
Speaker 5 (01:00:51):
Wednesday i'm Off thursday And.
Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
Friday friday is the first Of, august and you, know
we don't have The august schedule out yet even though
it's a week. Away but On july thirty, first you're
gonna be, here so so there you.
Speaker 4 (01:01:02):
Go, Okay i'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 9 (01:01:05):
Now i'm rather.
Speaker 5 (01:01:07):
Excited h'll it's trade deadline.
Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
Day you might when they when The reds trade for
A U Hanio, suarez you may be on the air that.
Speaker 4 (01:01:13):
Afternoon hopefully they do it before, Then like you could
probably use him over these next five six days if
you can go get A.
Speaker 5 (01:01:20):
Napuk you are correct about? That all? Right, man thanks so.
Speaker 4 (01:01:23):

(01:03:00):
Night reds And diamondbacks have mutual interest in a trade
that would involve A Euhanio, suarez who chances are you
know used to play. Here Florence yawl's Host Lake erie
tonight the end of a home stand for, them by the,
way in just about an. Hour Jordan, crawford the Former
xavier star who will be part of The Big three
(01:03:20):
at The Heritage Bank Arena saturday at one and, Obviously
Jordan crawford is a central figure in one of the
very best college basketball games ever, Played xavier Versus Kansas.
State The musketeers did not win that, game but it's
still one of the most iconic shots in Recent it's
been fifteen, years maybe even not so RECENT ncaa tournament,
(01:03:43):
history where he hit a shot from near half court
to force double, overtime and had had more than his
fair share of moments as AN nba. Player one year
he got Six man of The year, votes has played
a bunch overseas now playing in The Big, three and
he also owns a speakeasy In. Detroit so we'll talk
about all those things With jordan coming. Up and he
just Thought Lance stevenson in A Big three game a
(01:04:03):
few weeks. Ago So Jordan crawford is going to be
on the show at. Five let's talk to some other
folks while we have, time which we don't have a. Ton,
Ron you're ON espn fifteen, Thirty go, Ahead, ron how are?
Speaker 9 (01:04:16):
You oh? Mom all?
Speaker 4 (01:04:19):
Right how are you?
Speaker 10 (01:04:19):
Doing?
Speaker 5 (01:04:20):
Awesome? Man what's?
Speaker 14 (01:04:21):
Up?
Speaker 15 (01:04:22):
WELL i wanted to talk about The, bengals but real,
quick if they don't get score as now before the trade,
deadline then they're wasting five or six more, games which
is just.
Speaker 5 (01:04:30):
Ridiculous like you, said, yes.
Speaker 15 (01:04:34):
The, bengals what is going to happen?
Speaker 11 (01:04:38):
HERE i mean we it would.
Speaker 12 (01:04:40):
Be ridiculous to think like you said that the offense
isn't going to dominate.
Speaker 4 (01:04:44):
The defense because the defense is.
Speaker 12 (01:04:46):
PITIFUL i, mean the offense should dominate any defense pretty.
Speaker 4 (01:04:50):
Much let alone.
Speaker 15 (01:04:51):
Ours we're not what's gonna happen With Trey? Henderson you
really think he's gonna be?
Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
Here, yes at the end of the, DAY i think money,
talks and if he's haggling over, money it makes no
sense to me to not play games and four go
even more. Money that, said if we get to the
end of training camp and he still is held, out
he will already have relinquished a lot of, money SO
i guess what's even. More BUT i JUST i always
(01:05:19):
defer to The at the end of the, day the
player is going to take the, paycheck and if he doesn't,
play then he's given up a play a. Paycheck, now you,
know he may decide to miss the first, game which
is obviously less than. Ideal BUT i still Believe Trey
hendrickson will play football for The bengals in twenty twenty
five because the track record of most of these. Guys
(01:05:40):
Le'Veon bell famously decided not. To but the track record
of most of these guys when they hold, out is
they still play and he may play under a new.
Deal it's not like The, bengals By trey's own, admission
haven't offered him another. Contract have offered him two contracts
apparently here very very. Recently but at the end of the,
DAY i believe That, trey because he is under, contract
(01:06:02):
will still choose to play for The bengals this coming,
season Hopefully week.
Speaker 12 (01:06:05):
One fingers crossed, though And Shamar, stewart who really. Cares
let the guy sit out and do whatever he, wants
because next year he can be a third or fourth
round draft pick and he can take on that. Money
SO i praised The bengals for that. ONE i Take
hendrickson side against The, bengals But, stewart he's Down bengals
on that.
Speaker 5 (01:06:24):
One, YEAH i, mean My, ron thanks for the phone.
Speaker 4 (01:06:27):
Call.
Speaker 3 (01:06:28):
Man i've maintained all. Along if you have to make
it about. SIDES i don't think the basic premise Of
Trey hendrickson is. INCORRECT i don't THINK i should be
the twentieth highest paid defensive, end which The bengals have
offered him a pay. RAISE i Mean Mike brown And
Duke tobin center On. Monday he deserves a pay, raise
(01:06:50):
but his basic premise of with the production THAT i
have put forth in recent, YEARS i should be among
the highest paid at my, position which even if you
took him and he paid him like The Danielle hunter,
money you would be more than doubling his. SALARY i
don't think his position is. Wrong the market has. CHANGED
(01:07:11):
i want a raise that at least in part reflects.
THAT i don't think The bengals basic position is wrong.
Either he's probably a depreciating asset going into a season
where he's going to turn thirty, one not nuts about
paying in twenty twenty. Six for twenty twenty, three twenty
twenty four. Production he's not great against the, run and
(01:07:32):
so we think he deserves a, raise and we're willing
to give him, one but we're we're maybe not willing
to give him everything he's looking. FOR i still, believe
and certainly the events of the last couple of days
would fly in the face of. THIS i still believe
there's room in the middle that if both sides are,
reasonable they can reach, together forge a compromise and have
(01:07:55):
him here in week. One The Chamarsh stewart, thing you know, again.
Speaker 13 (01:08:02):
YOU.
Speaker 5 (01:08:04):
I feel LIKE i feel like most are with.
Speaker 3 (01:08:06):
Me you may think The bengals position to this point
has been somewhat, unreasonable but you know what they are
likely to not, do they're likely or you know what
they're not likely to, do they're not likely to. Cave,
so if You're Shamar, stewart all, right you've dragged this
out long. Enough do you want to totally screw up
(01:08:27):
your rookie season by going toe to toe with The
bengals for the next five six? Weeks or do you
want to get YOUR nfl career off to the right
start and start to make the conversation about you improving
upon your performance At TEXAS a AND m and not
some of the stuff you have said about The bengals
not your position this, offseason like it's it doesn't have
to be about taking. Sides it's understanding what the most
(01:08:50):
likely what the most likely outcome is as it relates
to The bengals vantage, point which is we're holding, Steady
we're not. Budging if you don't want to show, up
don't show. Up you may criticize them for having that,
stance but historically, speaking that has been their. Stance so
the only way this ends is If shamar, says, fine
(01:09:11):
screw it, Signed let's sign the contract and let's get.
Speaker 5 (01:09:13):

And Moe Training Camp. Show thanks to a E Dorn.
Window they sell the best and service the. Rest and
a special thanks To Adam weber for sponsoring our, broadcast
making it, happen and his continued support of The bengals
all these many. Years The bengals news from my vantage point,
(01:11:35):
today you've heard the offense dominated the. DEFENSE i would
concur the player acquisition news that kind of came down last.
Night Noah fan visited today or is visiting right? Now
cut loose by The seahawks appears to be a salary cap. Decision,
Look Noah, fan He's Hayden, hurst. RIGHT i, mean it's
(01:11:56):
interesting to me when you find folks who have some
degree of hesitation to, it like there's there's been a
list of players like, that maybe a little bit more
of a traditional inline tight, end Unlike Mike, kasiki who
have made an impact here and by the, way have
used The bengals to get paid. ELSEWHERE i don't think
the instant reaction should, be, well he doesn't play. Guard
(01:12:18):
he doesn't play. GUARD a guard of, guard the equivalent
to at guard wasn't released. Yesterday if he, is hell,
yeah The bengals should be. Interested BUT i come back
to the draft two years ago we all agreed The
bengals had to need a tight, end so today they took.
Two one guy is totally, unproven the other guy is
not going to play this year because he's. Hurt and
(01:12:40):
by the, way that offseason they also Signed Mike. Kisiki
so sure they should Be you should always be looking
to get, better regardless of, position and Maybe Noah fan
gives him that. Opportunity E Uhaneo suarez as of right,
now is still In Arizona. Diamondback let's be, honest just
based on what we know about this, team it's very
(01:13:02):
fair to be skeptical that The reds are really going
to be aggressive as it relates to A Uhaneo. Suarez
there's interest and there's being. Aggressive reading today that The
diamondbacks And, yankees or the, sorry The mariners And yankees
of the teams that have been most aggressive in pursuit
of A Uhaneo suarez with everybody else lagging behind in.
(01:13:22):
PURSUIT i certainly understand that you get to a point
in any possible trade scenario where you, go you know,
what too rich for my. BLOOD i do have a
hard time believing that acquiring a U Haanio, souarez even
(01:13:43):
in a market that's really crowded where a lot of
teams are. INTERESTED i have a hard time believing that
a two month rental is going to cost you so
many prospects or young players that suddenly you should basically
fold the franchise at the end of the season because
they have no chance of. Competing and by the, WAY
i do agree with those who would, say, like, cool
(01:14:03):
can you trade for him and sign him for a
year or two while you have, him we'll see so
yes to No Ah, Fan yes To Auo Hanio suarez very.
Quickly you, KNOW i love bat. FLIPS i love it
when a guy hits a long one and flips his.
BAT i love it because it's fun to. WATCH i
also love it because it rankles people who frankly come
(01:14:26):
from a different perspective in point of view THAN i.
Speaker 5 (01:14:28):
Do so a kid In New.
Speaker 3 (01:14:32):
Jersey flipped his bet in a little league baseball, game
and now he is being suspended for his team's. Final
they're playing in a, championship the championship game of a,
tournament and, obviously if they keep, winning they could get To.
Williamsport he hit a home run in a recent game
flipped his bet and he's being. Suspended his dad is
going to. Court, adults of, course are undefeated when it
comes to roading stuff for. KIDS i speak for this radio.
(01:14:56):
STATION i should be able to speak for this. Company
this kid has our unconditional. Support, now a couple of
things about this really, quick and then we're going to
take phone.
Speaker 5 (01:15:05):
Calls number.
Speaker 3 (01:15:05):
One in the Official rulebook Of Little League, baseball there
is nothing that says you can flip your.
Speaker 5 (01:15:11):
Bat there are subjective terms like.
Speaker 3 (01:15:13):
Horseplay you're not allowed to engage in, horseplay or you're
not allowed to do something. Unsportsmanlike there is nothing on
sportsmanlike about flipping your bat in my. Opinion but the
kicker for me is if you go to A Little
League international's YouTube page where they show a compilation of
highlights of The Little League World, series there is literally
an eight minute highlight reel of twelve year old kids
(01:15:36):
flipping their bats after making. Contact you can't say that's
against the rules or something frowned upon and also. Promoted
THE nfl doesn't show illegal hits ON nfl Dot com
because they're, Illegal so it is beyond, absurd beyond, absurd
and my overall perspective about sports is, this AND i
(01:15:58):
know many will. DISAGREE i think sports are fun and.
ENTERTAINMENT i don't think games are to be. RESPECTED i
don't think a, GAME i don't. THINK i Play uno
with my. Daughter we don't talk about respecting the game
because it's a. GAME i feel the exact same way about,
baseball WHICH i admire and respect as An american. Institution
it's not a human. Being human beings are to be.
(01:16:20):
Respected games are meant to be. Played you're not respecting
or disrespecting another human being by flipping your. Bat that
holds true if you're a thirty year old big. Leaguer
it holds true if you're a twelve year old little.
Leaguer we will be suspending our coverage of The Little
League World series until this kid gets reinstated and possibly compensated.
Speaker 5 (01:16:38):
Financially.
Speaker 3 (01:16:43):
Uh let's see, Here, Jeff you're ON espn fifteen.
Speaker 5 (01:16:46):

Speaker 16 (01:17:04):

Speaker 4 (01:17:13):
Downplayed a little, bit maybe a little, bit but Still i'm, like.
Speaker 16 (01:17:17):
You don't do that through contract, Negotiations, pal put your
put put your pants, on and get the respect of
your peers and then come.
Speaker 5 (01:17:24):
And talk to.
Speaker 9 (01:17:25):
Us.
Speaker 3 (01:17:25):
YEAH i, mean, look if you want to hold out
and get every dime you can, find go and do.
That but but that holding out flies in the face of.
Captaincy and and it's not apples to. Apples But Joe
burrow was went through a contract negotiation a few years.
Ago it got signed or got announced on the right
before kickoff of the first. Game joe was there for
(01:17:46):
training camp every. Day joe Was and again it's, quarterback
so it's a little bit different than defensive.
Speaker 11 (01:17:50):
End.
Speaker 3 (01:17:51):
Joe joe exhibited the qualities of a. Captain Trey hendrickson
by not being. Here it's, hard especially when you've never
been a. Captain it's hard to exhibit the character or
qualities of. Captaincy, no your rant.
Speaker 16 (01:18:03):
Was perfectly on, tune and Then i'm gonna jump over
to The reds and beat the deadest of dead. HORSES
i was at the Game tuesday, night guy on second
less than two hours nobody on first ball is hit
to the. SHORTSTOP i was sitting behind home, plate AND
i think the guy might have heard of me WHEN
(01:18:23):
i yelled at him running back to the.
Speaker 5 (01:18:25):
Dugout what Is.
Speaker 16 (01:18:27):
Jr house doing in that? Situation why is he not
yelling stay go? Back i'm, like you know, again you
AND i talked about this the other. Night people think
that this team is so, much marginally better than The White,
sox The rockies and The, gnats and then they go
out and they do stuff like, this AND i don't
know how people can even imagine that that's.
Speaker 3 (01:18:46):
True yeah it Was Noelve Marte and oh, okay you
Know Noelve martes a young. Player we're In, july like
this was the stuff we talked, about like being cleaned
up back In, february and you allowed a little bit
of a grace period In.
Speaker 5 (01:19:03):
April It's. July things like that cannot.
Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
Happen and your third base coach needs to be communicating
with the guy on Second, hey if it's hit to your,
right you're staying, Still you're going back to second. Base
if that was done And marte ignored, it then you
got to do something with. Him if it's not communicated to,
him then you've got a problem with one of your.
Speaker 5 (01:19:23):
Coaches, well your.
Speaker 16 (01:19:26):
High school coach should have communicated.
Speaker 5 (01:19:27):
That, Sure, yeah that's.
Speaker 4 (01:19:29):
Sure that's that's my. Point.
Speaker 16 (01:19:31):
Sure SO i was as soon as it happened AND
i was done with my rant yelling from behind home,
PLATE i was, LIKE i got to call and talk
To TONY mo about, this BECAUSE i know they felt
the exact same WAY i.
Speaker 5 (01:19:42):
THREW i threw the remote.
Speaker 3 (01:19:44):
CONTROL i threw the remote control like, that something like,
that which is so. Basic so junior high school happening
at the major league level in Mid july for a
team that is supposedly in contention drives, me drives me.
Speaker 5 (01:19:57):
Bonkers, yeah.
Speaker 16 (01:19:59):
EXACTLY i didn't mean to bring it down any.
Speaker 5 (01:20:01):
After, jeff thank. YOU i appreciate.
Speaker 9 (01:20:03):
IT i have a good.
Speaker 3 (01:20:04):
Day, YEAH i, mean that's that's the it can't. Happen
it's it's hard to justify. It on On april twenty,
Second On july twenty, second which is when that was
just just. Maddening nicolodolo pitched great, yesterday and you know
they've done it all season, long like right right when
it feels like they're teetering on the, brink something or
(01:20:25):
somebody pulls them off the edge and then they're, back
and you, know we'll see they played okay team this
week and a really good team next week in The.
Dodgers but the two games prior to, that The reds played,
terribly falling behind seven. Nothing, defensively they weren't good in
those two. Games base running. Issues you, know, yes they
(01:20:50):
should try to trade for A U, haneosuarez or they
should try to find some offensive, help and yes they
should try to find a bullpen. Arm but the collection
of players they have need to play better and play more.
Cannsistently and you, know all year long they've been on
about an eighty three win. Pace they're currently on an
eighty three. Windance sixteen after five, o'clock more of your phone.
Speaker 5 (01:21:08):
Calls Welcome Jamar Chase talk.
Speaker 3 (01:21:09):
Today you'll hear that in just a second ON espn fifteen,
Thirty Cincinnati Sports.

so personal it makes your best tomorrow. Possible that's boundless
care for better. Outcomes expect more at UCHealth dot. Com
both shoulders are blocked off from an accident on northbound seventy,
one this one after two seventy five on northbound seventy.
Five another accident on the right shoulder At town and
(01:21:43):
some slow traffic eastbound two seventy five between seventy one
seventy five And Madison. Pike i'm at ezelic with. Traffic
this report is sponsored By state twenty.
Speaker 3 (01:21:53):
One after, five this IS espn fifteen thirty On, Moeger Jordan,
crawford the FORMERS a star is going to join us
in fifteen. Minutes it'll be The Heritage Bank center this,
weekend part of The Big, three And Tony pike as.
Well later on this. Hour Jamar chase talked earlier today
his first media availability Of bengals training. Camp let's let's
play the best Of. Jamar here is The Triple crown
(01:22:16):
winning wide. Receiver on day, two the offense bounce back
had a very good. Day jamar talked about the importance of.
Speaker 17 (01:22:23):
THAT i mean at first day we didn't really have
much of the, offense and you, know really the BASICS
i want to. Say today we got a little bit
more to the, offense a lot more motion and a
lot more disguised my, disguise a little bit more set up,
schemes and you know that's that was really different from
today and. Yesterday BUT i still think it's good to
look for the.
Speaker 5 (01:22:43):
Defense, yeah There's Jamar.
Speaker 3 (01:22:45):
Chase more From Jamar chase how he feels about being
back in camp after not practicing last.
Speaker 9 (01:22:50):
Year not at. All i'm being completely.
Speaker 4 (01:22:53):
HONEST i.
Speaker 17 (01:22:54):
DIDN'T i DIDN'T i meet THAT i had great legs last.
Year LIKE i, SAID i love to. Work you, know
at the end of the, DAY i get to work
on stuff THAT i didn't work on last year and
getting that real feel from A dB and working on
not saying, everything but just working on certain things THAT
i wanted to do this. YEAR i get a chance
to do it in camp now instead of just doing
it in the.
Speaker 5 (01:23:13):
Game right, there you, go There's Jamar. Chill you want
More Jamar.
Speaker 3 (01:23:17):
Chase so obviously there's been news About noah fan visiting and,
uh Here's jamar discussing that topic.
Speaker 9 (01:23:28):
A close.
Speaker 17 (01:23:28):
PERSON i don't mind talking a little.
Speaker 9 (01:23:29):
BIT i, mean BUT.
Speaker 17 (01:23:33):
I can only say so much to him to make
him come. Here you, know at the end of the,
day it's not his. Decision well it might really be his,
decision SO i, mean and then that he knows what
we have. HERE i, KNOW i know he sees the.
SCHEMES i know he might like the. Scheme SO i,
mean that's why you, come take the, visit you.
Speaker 5 (01:23:47):
Know there you, Go Jamar. Chase now Here's jamar On Trey.
Speaker 17 (01:23:51):
Hendrickson i'm pretty SURE i don't really know much about
what it got going on in his situation Because i'm
not in his situation. Anymore But i'm sure everyone wants
to be treated the, same you, Know and that's the
hard part with stuff like, This and at the end
of the, day it's not really him making a. Decision
(01:24:12):
SO i, MEAN i just wished the best for, him,
man hope of there you.
Speaker 5 (01:24:16):
Go AND i think it Was james, there or maybe
it Was Ben. BABY i have no.
Speaker 3 (01:24:19):
Idea There's Jamar chase talked earlier today that was enthralling.
Stuff john In, Boston you're ON espn fifteen. Thirty, John
how are you, good?
Speaker 9 (01:24:30):
Mo how are you?
Speaker 5 (01:24:31):
Today i'm, awesome? Man what's?
Speaker 4 (01:24:32):
Up?
Speaker 18 (01:24:33):
Okay just About Trey, hendrickson we know he doesn't add
much against the. Run he's not going to drop in.
Coverage seventeen and a half sacks very, Impressive but if
you come through those, numbers he had sixteen and a
half of those sacks in six. Games he had four
games of two sacks. Each it's four against The raiders
in a, blowout three and a half against The steels
in the last. Game so he had a total of
two sacks in the other eleven. Games and if you
(01:24:56):
really looked at the biggest games of last, year the
two losses To, baltimore which we're a flip of coin,
games had no. Sacks he also didn't have any sacks
against The Philadelphia eagles in a game that was tied
leg in the third. Quarter so sometimes sacks could be
somewhat of a hollow. Stat And i'm not saying you
shouldn't want him, back but he's NOT. Tj, watt he's
Not Miles, Gawert he's not in their. League those guys
are just better. Players maybe Being monday morning morning. Quarterback
(01:25:21):
maybe you could have traded him in the. OFFSEASON i
don't even know what you would get for him thirty
one years old in a contract. Squabble it's kind of
late now to trade him because you're all in to
try to win A Super bowl this. YEAR i think
he's going to show up maybe three, years ninety, million sixty,
guaranteed thirtieth. Signing maybe that gets the thing done and
you kind of button that part of that.
Speaker 3 (01:25:40):
UP i think it's a fair, perspective AND i think
THAT'S i think that's The bengals, position.
Speaker 5 (01:25:44):
Right you're you're a little bit of a specials and.
Speaker 3 (01:25:46):
LOOKS i think sacks often do come in bunches because you,
know you play a team that doesn't block you the right,
way or it's a tackle that you have a move
that he can. Stop it Doesn't the fact that they
come in bunches is, FINE i do. THINK I i
think if you compare him to the guys at the
upper echelon of his, position there's two. Things, one some
of those guys move inside and, Out trey. Doesn't, two
(01:26:08):
they do a little bit more against the. Run trey
against the run is. Average and then you add the
age to, It and, AGAIN i don't think The bengals
position is on a. Reason it's not like they haven't
offered him a. Raise you, know if you believe that
they have increased from their original offer of twenty, eight
they've essentially offered a double his, salary And i'm gonna
(01:26:29):
guess would be willing to do even more than. THAT
i think right now it comes down to what specifically
Is trey looking, for and then can they come to
an agreement on the. Guarantee BUT i think what you
just said kind of articulates what The bengals position has
been all, along and it's not necessarily, invalid.
Speaker 18 (01:26:47):
Especially when you brought up leadership a bit. Earlier it
appears to me that we found out yesterday If Jill
burrow actually did more for that defense of the offseason
Than Trey, henderson because he sat in with the defense
for two. Hours so let's give him more his, responsibility
maybe the assistant defensive. Coordinator it's really sometimes laughable how
much they put on that young man as doctor the,
(01:27:08):
quarterback but it seems like he is. EVERYTHING i don't
even know who to compare it. TO i, MEAN i
like to compare The bengals oftentimes The colts With Peyton
manning because a lot fell On Peyton. Manning, yeah but
they had two really good edge.
Speaker 11 (01:27:19):
Rushers.
Speaker 18 (01:27:20):
Yeah you know back then you Had freemy and you Had.
Mathis that's how they were.
Speaker 4 (01:27:25):
Built kind of like The.
Speaker 18 (01:27:25):
Bengals we'll get those two hedge rushers in here and
maybe you'll have the same success or more. Success but
The colts did twenty years.
Speaker 3 (01:27:32):
Ago yeah, Maybe, John thanks thanks very. Much they put
a lot On. JOHN i think it's. Interesting we played
the audio and since he three on The Tonian Moe
Training camp show, Today Joe burrow talking About Trey, hendrickson
AND i think he was. Diplomatic he was diplomatic About.
Trey he was not emphatic About. Trey i've heard him
be emphatic about a guy he wants here long. Term
(01:27:52):
he did that with T. Higgins he did not do
that With Trey. Hendrickson brian And. Hamilton you're ON espn
fifteen thirty High, brian.
Speaker 5 (01:28:01):
How are you doing them? All i'm good, man what's?
Speaker 9 (01:28:02):
Up just drinking a cold? One?
Speaker 4 (01:28:05):
Hey?
Speaker 14 (01:28:05):
UH i want to shout out to The West Side
Little league all start In. Hamilton win another state. Title
did They, yes that's a twenty twenty two straight.
Speaker 5 (01:28:18):
Maybe the greatest dynasty in baseball.
Speaker 14 (01:28:20):
History up take twenty two, STRAIGHT i mean. YEARS i
Mean West Side Little league just one seventeen to five
today Over New.
Speaker 5 (01:28:30):
Albany did any of the kids flip their?
Speaker 14 (01:28:32):
BAT i don't, know BUT i know we hit to
two home runs and A Grand?
Speaker 11 (01:28:38):
Slam very?
Speaker 5 (01:28:39):
Nice so what does where do they?
Speaker 4 (01:28:40):
Go?
Speaker 5 (01:28:41):
Now what stage are we? In they? Do they go To?
Speaker 3 (01:28:44):
Indiana they go To. Indiana now does this event In?
Indiana does this determine whether or not they go To?
Speaker 5 (01:28:49):
Williamsport?
Speaker 9 (01:28:51):
Right?
Speaker 11 (01:28:51):
Right they got to PLAY i.
Speaker 14 (01:28:52):
BELIEVE i think It's, Michigan, Indiana pennsylvania And kentucky and
then the best that goes over To.
Speaker 3 (01:29:01):
Williamsport congratulations to The Hamilton West Side All.
Speaker 5 (01:29:04):
Stars straight division.
Speaker 9 (01:29:07):
Titles well you.
Speaker 3 (01:29:08):
Can if you got twenty, three, Right but that's.
Speaker 5 (01:29:13):
Awesome when you were.
Speaker 14 (01:29:16):
Getting to, NOAFAN i, mean you can't never have, enough you, know,
offense and you know you don't know who's gonna get.
HURT i, mean SO i mean bringing him in would
be you, know you, know a great. Addition and is
That brandon sheriff the. Guard is he's still out there
on free?
Speaker 5 (01:29:34):
AGENCY i believe he.
Speaker 9 (01:29:36):
Is and what did you think about?
Speaker 3 (01:29:39):
That i've, been along with many many, others championing uh
the idea that that.
Speaker 5 (01:29:45):
They should sign, him and he is he? Is he
is still a free.
Speaker 11 (01:29:50):
Agent, yes, yeah AND i totally agree with.
Speaker 14 (01:29:53):
You The reds got to spend some money and we
need a bullpen help and we need to grabs four
AS i.
Speaker 3 (01:30:01):
Mean if you can give me a guy who has Hit,
brian thanks very much and congratulations to the kids on
the west side Of. Hamilton if you can give me
forget the fact that he played. Here, hey you can
have a guy who's third in the league in home.
Runs do you want?
Speaker 13 (01:30:13):
Him?
Speaker 5 (01:30:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
Yes on The Noah fan, thing two things can be.
True you can never have enough good. Players Noah fan
is a player who has averaged fifty catches a season
for HIS nfl.
Speaker 5 (01:30:25):
Career he's not yet twenty eight years. Old can't use
a guy.
Speaker 3 (01:30:28):
Like that for a fan base that has glorified the
likes Of Hayden hurst and Cj. Usama there's not room
for A noa, fan especially for a team that has
tried to address depth of free agency and so far
in last year's draft that hasn't worked. Out at the same,
time they could use another, guard And Brandon, shurff who's
(01:30:49):
older he's thirty, three is still out. There i've seen
stories connecting him to The Jacksonville. Jaguars Jordan crawford was
a star At, xavier a tremade To Xavier, musketeer a
standout player on one of the best college basketball Games
i've ever, watched and he's back in town playing in
The Big.
Speaker 5 (01:31:05):
Three this. Weekend he JOINS us next ON espn fifteen.
Speaker 6 (01:31:09):
Thirty CINCINNATI'S espn fifteen. Thirty traffic from THE Uc Health Traffic.
Speaker 7 (01:31:16):
Center AT Uce, health you'll find comprehensive care that's so
personal it makes your best tomorrow. Possible that's boundless care
for better. Outcomes expect more at UCHealth dot. Com on
northbound seventy, one it's an accident at two seventy. Five
that one blocking off both. Shoulders northbound seventy five At,
town it's an. Accident this is off on to the
(01:31:36):
right shoulder and southbound seventy. One got some slow traffic
building up Between Fields irdle And Ridge avenue up to
a fifteen minute. Delay i'm At ezelk with. Traffic this
report is. Fun The Big three is returning To.
Speaker 3 (01:31:50):
Cincinnati This saturday tip off is going to be at
one o'clock In Heritage Bank. Arena tickets are available At
big three dot com slash tickets if especially if you're
A you're gonna love this Because Jordan crawford is back
playing for the all New La riot Alongside hall Of
Famer Dwight howard And Nick. Young it is going to
be awesome to have The Big three, back very successful
(01:32:11):
event last, year and you get a chance to see
some guys who have made their mark In. Cincinnati jordan
at the top of that, list and he joins. Us,
now it's awesome to have. You, jordan good. Afternoon how are.
Speaker 9 (01:32:21):
You oh appreciate youall having. Me i'm excited to be
In cincinnati for the, weekend getting to play in front
of a lot Of xavier.
Speaker 3 (01:32:29):
Fans so let's talk about The Big. Three your basketball
journey has taken you all over the. World you've had
success in THE. Nba give us an idea of how
and why you decided to join The Big.
Speaker 5 (01:32:41):
Three, well it.
Speaker 9 (01:32:43):
Was a great opportunity THAT iq has created a lot
of basketball players that had a lot of basketball left
in them get to play AND i AND i was
already scoping it out BEFORE i got in it because
mainly it's in The, states and you get to play,
against play in front of your, family get to play
in places Like, cincinnati WHERE i played in. College so
(01:33:05):
that was the most intriguing thing about.
Speaker 3 (01:33:06):
It you talk about playing In cincinnati and obviously there's
gonna be a lot Of xavier fans there and we're
going to talk about your time AT. Xu but but
how cool is it to get a chance to come
play in front of folks who watched you in.
Speaker 2 (01:33:17):
College, oh it means a, lot.
Speaker 9 (01:33:20):
Because especially, now it almost feel like a different. Lifetime and,
actually back In, FEBRUARY i got introduced him to The
hall Of fame As. Xavier so to be able to
come play that is gonna be real.
Speaker 3 (01:33:32):
Fun, yeah no question about. That it's also got to
be cool to play with A hall Of famer In Dwight.
Speaker 5 (01:33:36):
Howard, oh of, course of.
Speaker 9 (01:33:38):
Course Dwight howard brings a lot of exposure to the.
League he is actually getting into form and learning The
big three, rules and he just dominated last week In,
detroit So cincinnati fans should be people In cincinnati should
be excited to see him. Play.
Speaker 3 (01:33:52):
NOW i watched in A Big three, game there was
a fight between you And Lance. Stevenson walk me through.
That does that have its? Roots and when you guys
win toe to toe in the shootout fifteen years.
Speaker 9 (01:34:02):
AGO i mean we did come out the same, draft
played against each other and The Xavier cincinnati. Shootout so
you always want to beat somebody that you would playing,
against you, know basically your whole. Career so and then
The Big three is so. Personal everything is so, Close
so that may have nothing to do with.
Speaker 3 (01:34:19):
It, well and it's half, court, right so you know
it's it's it's half the. Court there's only a handful of.
You you're not gonna have teammates come and get you
off the. Bench and so a fight in The Big
three is different than a, fight let's say in a
five on FIVE nba or college basketball.
Speaker 9 (01:34:34):
Game, YEAH i mean everything is a little different because
the three on three dynamic is everything you can the.
Fans that's what's exciting about The Big three for the.
Fans you can almost see those things, coming so you'd
be right up close and then the excitement is now.
Speaker 3 (01:34:49):
Stop you mentioned earlier this year you went into The
hall Of. Fame exavier obviously very well deserved programs in
a transition. Phase how closely in recent years have you
FOLLOWED xu.
Speaker 5 (01:35:01):
Basketball, Well i'm following.
Speaker 9 (01:35:03):
It i've been following it real. Close, mario you, know
he really Keeps mario. Mccurrey he really keeps me up
with everything that's going on and just watching the players they.
Had they had a great team last year and they
could have you, know couldn't get over To, hump played
a lot of good teams that they lost. To but you,
KNOW i always Follow it's hard not, to you, KNOW
i had so many you know that being At xavier
(01:35:25):
for those two years really decided which PATH i was
gonna go in my. Career So xavier is an important
place to.
Speaker 3 (01:35:33):
WHAT i think of you and when a lot of
people think of. You the first image that comes to
mind is of The Kansas State, game which is one
of the great college basketball games of all. Time AND
i know you guys didn't win, it But sweet sixteen twenty,
ten you hit the shot from nearly half court to
send the game to double. Overtime obviously it's easier to
talk about if you would have. Won it's hard to
(01:35:53):
believe it's been a decade and a. Half but what
comes to mind when you think of that.
Speaker 9 (01:35:57):
Night the thing that what comes to mind is how
close he was to Play. Butler, again that's something that
that that hurts me all the. Time but, uh it
was just it was just kind of you it's hard
to look at the. Game did you see a couple
of players where it could have, changed and just knowing
(01:36:19):
the impact they had on on all the recruits and
people after that for a long lasting time THAT i
didn't know how big of a game it, was but you,
know and it was like the only game on the
last game on that, Day so the effect that had
following was surprising to.
Speaker 3 (01:36:36):
Me i'm, Sure i'm sure like you, did you wouldn't
want to hear this right after the, game but like
all these many years, later it has to be cool
that people still talk about that game and that Shan.
Speaker 9 (01:36:48):
Yeah, YEAH i mean the the bar STORIES i hear
where people was, at that is the that's the most exciting,
part just knowing how when people come up and tell
me how the places they, were how they reacted WHEN
i hit the. Shot so that's the fact that people
still talk about it like it happened two three years
ago or something is.
Speaker 3 (01:37:07):
Amazing what is your fondest memory of your time playing
in xavior.
Speaker 9 (01:37:14):
Nca tournament is one that whole season just you, know the,
expectation especially After lebron, situation the expectation that was on,
me and how we grew throughout the season and got.
Better but even my sitout, YEAR i, remember you, Know
Whenehn miller was. Coaching the team had made it to
number seventh in the country after Beating, cincinnati AND i just,
(01:37:36):
remember Like, dan this is a big time. Program so
just all those memories of how much of a basketball
college it.
Speaker 3 (01:37:43):
Was so you mentioned something THAT i would imagine perhaps
younger listeners are not familiar with that when you dunked
On Lebron, james that was a really big. Deal and
there was the whole thing with the. Tapes were they,
confiscated were they not? Confiscated there's video on. YouTube we
could talk about this, now, like what what was it
like that stage in your life you dunk On Lebron
(01:38:05):
james and it becomes a.
Speaker 9 (01:38:06):
Thing, YEAH i didn't you didn't, REALLY i didn't realize
what was. Happening it was the first, time you, KNOW
i was always considered like an, underdog so after that,
happened it was the first time being in that position
of like the. Spotlight so that was that was kind of.
New but then just understanding what was to, COME i,
(01:38:28):
mean the taking of the taps and always kind of
having this this bullseye on your back from not just you,
know your, peers but even your. Employers just understanding That
I'm Jordan, crawford the guy that dunked On bron that
still sticks with me to this, day even more than
a shot At. Xavier. Yeah, Yeah and it was That lebron's, camp, Right,
(01:38:50):
yes it was At lebron's. Camp it was the first
day of the, camp and it kind of blew up to,
proportion out of proportion where it was something THAT i
couldn't control and no one else on my side.
Speaker 3 (01:39:03):
CONTROL i, mean obviously your paths have crossed With Lebron
james a few times.
Speaker 5 (01:39:09):
Since has the dunk come?
Speaker 9 (01:39:10):
Up, no the, duck the dunk never comes. UP i
mean it kind of the duck kind of made it
where every time it was kind of. Awkward Around lebron
BECAUSE i was ALWAYS i was always trying to climb up,
hill and you, KNOW i didn't know what really happened
behind the scenes after that, Dunk SO i was kind
of always on edge a little.
Speaker 3 (01:39:32):
Bit The Xavier hall Of Famer Jordan crawford will be
in town On, saturday The Big three at The Heritage
Bank arena at one. O'clock jordan playing for The All
New La. Riot they have a three to two, record
three and two record coming Into. Saturday you also In.
Detroit you own a. Speakeasy, NOW i love the concept
of a. Speakeasy tell me about, This.
Speaker 9 (01:39:53):
Well it's a family owned business that we put, together
my two brothers and my mom and. Dad we we
all own it and we all created. It and it's
a coffee shop first and then it's a speakeasy in the,
middle and then we have a lounge in the. Back
and we have had The we Had President Joe biden in,
there we Had Tamala harrison, there we have HAD iq.
(01:40:17):
Recently we have had a lot of people that come
through and been excited about the. Place and it's been
open for a little under two. Years had the build
it in twenty. Seventeen but, yeah it's been very exciting
in the city Of.
Speaker 3 (01:40:29):
DETROIT i have to, ask when you own an establishment
like that and you find out that the president or
of The United states or the vice president of The
United states is going to stop, by how does that?
Speaker 9 (01:40:40):
Work, well we had, New we had new like four
or five days, before and then it basically wasn't our building.
Anymore The Secret service owned.
Speaker 5 (01:40:50):
It now WHAT i think?
Speaker 3 (01:40:53):
SPEAKEASY i think like you got to have a secret
password to get. In is that how it? Works or
is it more open to the.
Speaker 9 (01:40:57):
Public, yeah, yeah we got A i mean it's open
to the, public but they need to know the password
to get past the coffee. Shop all, right, yeah and the,
password but we not high and the password is having
a good, day trying to have a better.
Speaker 5 (01:41:11):
Night oh all.
Speaker 3 (01:41:12):
Right, well When i'm In, Detroit i'm going To i'm

BENGALS espn fifteen thirty Hiight.
Speaker 3 (01:42:40):
Tony one more Time bengals training camp report TO i
want to spend some time talking about something that you
pointed out to me during practice, today especially for those
who didn't hear, It so that The bengals were doing
some seven on seventeen drill sort of stuff and the
tempo was pretty, fast and you pointed out to me
Where Al golden was standing and what he was doing
during these Were can you either repeat that or elaborate
(01:43:02):
it on it for?
Speaker 11 (01:43:03):
Me, Yeah Al golden was about thirty to forty yards
away from where the defense was during these team drills
and you might not think anything of. It he's on
a walkie talkie and he is essentially calling in the play.
Too i'm assuming at this Point Logan, Wilson i'm guessing
that to that that voice is going to be for
The Cincinnati. Bengals but the reason you're doing this you
(01:43:27):
don't want to have to coach after every single play
on something that's good and something that's. Bad that used
to be a way to do, it and practices would
last for three hours and it would just stop the
flow of. Practice in today's, game tempo is king and
being able to line up fast offensively sometimes puts you
in an advantage because the defense isn't. Ready so while
(01:43:48):
it's one thing to do to make sure you're ready
and you're getting mined, up WHAT i think is more
important is the value that it creates and understanding that
you're going to have good. Plays you're going to have
bad plays regardless of what. Happened you better if you
give a line up, next get that out of your
mind and make the next. Play and when you go
into a situation where something happens at practice and you
(01:44:08):
stop practice and you try to teach it, up that doesn't.
Help because when you get into a game On sundays
and the other team gashes you for a thirty five yard,
completion guess what you can't. Do go out on the,
field coach it up and move to the next. Play
get everything done during, practice move with, urgency and then
go into the film room and study what you did
right or what you did, wrong and then be better
(01:44:30):
at the next. Day you can't hold guys' hands in THE.
Nfl you got to move to the next. Play AND
i think standing from a distance For Al golden and
getting those plays in is trying to instill a little
bit of that into this defense right.
Speaker 3 (01:44:42):
Now you, know we can make sometimes a little bit
too much of you, know offense ahead of the, defense
that sort of. Thing Defense winnsday, one by all, accounts
offense steps Up winnsday. Two What i'm interested in is
whether this unit tomorrow defensively can do what it couldn't
do last year and bounds.
Speaker 11 (01:44:59):
Back, yeah and, again we talk all the time of you,
know what's the ceiling for the, offense what's the ceiling
for the. DEFENSE i don't think anyone's asking the defense
to be top ten so that that's not gonna be
a situation where the defense is going to, get you,
know five stops in the first, half give the ball
back to the. Offense but what this defense couldn't do
(01:45:21):
last year was get one stop or two stops when
things started to go the wrong direction it's. Snowballed how
many games last year did we, say, man just get
the ball back to the. OFFENSE i know Against baltimore
that was the. CASE i know Against washington that was the.
Case and the defense never could do. That so that's
WHERE i stand on. IT i want to, See, yes
can the defense bounce back. Yesterday but guess what they're
(01:45:43):
going against one, of if not the best offenses in.
Football so you're gonna lose more than you win in.
Practice but you're also not going to see many better
offenses during the season that you're seeing right. Now understand
that bounce back and don't let one bad, practice one bad,
rep one bad day creep into another bad, rep another,
practice or another bad day for the, defense.
Speaker 3 (01:46:02):
No question about. That, tony thanks so. Much we're back
