Love.

Speaker 2 (00:00):

seeking to stump the Colts who will or won't make
the team. It's Stripes versus Stirrups. Get the call live
from Dan Wood and Dave lappim coverage begins Saturday at
eleven thirty am. Stream for free on the new and
improved iHeartRadio app or ESPN fifteen thirty, the official home

(00:23):
of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
All right, what's up? Five minutes after four? This is
ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
MOEA.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
You're broadcasting from Bengals Trench Camp. Thanks to our friends
at ae Dorn Window. They sell the best and service
to rest. Brendanman and Jones on baseball. Coming up later
on this hour, Tony Pike checks in again. Coming up
at four forty five, two weeks from tomorrow. Is one
of my favorite events to broadcast from, and it it

(00:54):
really sort of signals the start of the NFL season
because it happens on the day of the NFL game
the Anthony Munhos Foundation Top Golf Tailgate Thursday, September fourth.
We are going to be there doing our show live,
as we are every year. It is a great fundraiser
for a great foundation, obviously, the Anthony Munhos Foundation.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Again.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
It's gonna be at Top Golf in Westchester two weeks
from tomorrow. It's all put on by the Hall of Famer,
the great Anthony Munhos, who joins us. Now, it's awesome
to have you as always, sir. How are you?

Speaker 1 (01:29):
How you doing tonight? Man? I'm doing great. Thanks for
having me on. I appreciate it. And wait, you know
what I got Wait, you know what I got waiting
for you, besides a lot of food and good people
at Top Golf. But yeah, no, we're looking forward to it.
It's always a great event.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
You're speaking my language. You're speaking my language. It's a
great event. It's gotten bigger and bigger. You have a
lot of your former teammates show up, and so for
the uninitiated, and I can't wait to broadcast from there.
But for those who here Top Golf, and they go, okay,
wait a minute, I know what that is.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
What's that all about? What happens on the fourth?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Well, here it is. I'm going to start it out
by saying, Okay, we're nearly sold out. That's the first
thing we need all bays to be sold, So maybe
some of your listeners can say, man, this sounds like
a great event, a great cause. We've raised over nearly
three hundred and fifty thousand dollars to the event alone
since twenty seventeen. I mean with that much money, we

(02:30):
can go seventeen scholarships, we can go four hundred kids
overnight camp, we can go thousand students to leadership seminar.
So there's a lot we can do with that. We
have six bays left at one thousand dollars a bay.
Six people. Just think about it, six people food, all
the food and drinks you want, all the top golf,
You get to see Moeggar live right at the doing
the show. A lot of guys they'll come to that

(02:51):
played with But yeah, it's you've been there. So I
mean it's a great event. As you mentioned, Thursday, September fourth,
Pera a premier event center. It presents it. They're a
sponsor Westchester Top Golf. I Like I said, if you're
a base partnership, you have an opportunity for six people
at a bay, dinner, drinks, get a chance to bid

(03:15):
on some things. It's a thousand dollars which is a deal.
You can visit Muno's Foundation dot org. But man, I'll
tell you what. It's so much fun. You know a
lot of people think golf and they think, all right,
four five hours, six hours out on the golf course,
you know, running around, But this is right there. You
got all these days on one level. You can hit
a few balls, you can go up and down, say

(03:35):
hi to your friends, they how to some of the
former players. You know, get some foods, some drinks. But
it's a pretty cool event. I mean, you know, when
that opened up, the thoughts started running through my mind
how we could utilize this not eliminate our golf tournament
because that continues to go. We'll have our twenty fifth
anniversary next year. But like I said, since twenty seventeen,

(03:57):
we've been doing the Top Golf the opening night of
the season in which is September fourth, and it's just
a lot of fun. I mean, you can get six people.
You don't have to be at the golfers. You can
get three couples, you need, some of your buddies and
just come have some fun.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
And what's great about it is you could watch the
first NFL game, which is obviously a huge event.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
The food at Top Golf is top notch.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
There's always a ton of like silent auction items, like
it really is. It's about golf, right, that's the centerpiece,
But there's so much more to the event.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
There really is. I mean, and you mentioned you can
stay and watch a game. Of course, I think it's
the Eagles and the Cowboys in the NFC whatever, you know,
But they said, I mean it's the world champions. I mean,
you got to give them some respect. The world's defending
world champion Eagles. Pretty good football team. But you're right,
the main thing is golf. But then just think about,

(04:48):
like I read off, some of the things you can
sponsor with the foundation. You know, we're twenty four years old.
I mean we've worked within and we're from fifty five
to sixty thousand kids in this great community. And it's
events like this that give us an opportunity to continue
to impact kids. And like I mentioned, through scholarships, through
overnight camps, through leadership seminars, through mentoring. There's a lot

(05:11):
that we do eight different programs with our staff and
we have a leading staff. But yeah, so just think
about the fun, the food, the drinks, the game and
just put you know, what you're doing is helping a
lot of kids in this great community, which is actional
mind and why I've been doing this for twenty four
years at least within the structure of the Anthony Munnez Foundation.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Yeah, you know, we talk about it every year.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
The work that you and your organization does is it's remarkable.
We've talked about so many of the success stories, and
we will even further when I'm out there on the fourth.
The thing about this event that always stands out to
me though, is you know, you talk about how you
ask your former teammates to show up and they're there.
I've been to a lot of events right where like

(05:57):
the celebrity, if you will, is kind of out of breach,
can't reach out and touch him. That's not the case
at your event.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
No, no, you know you have to understand, you know,
and I hate to keep saying, well, when we played,
but when we're playing at Old Riverfront Stadium, we would
walk out of the door of the locker and I
understand times are different, but the fans would be right
outside the doors of the locker room just saying great game,
or you know, get your ear in and gear for
next year play better. But you know, but they're right there.

(06:25):
And that's the thing about guys like Jie Walter and
Jim Breach and with David Fulcher and you know, guys
like that Mark Collins who's in the area. I mean,
they just come over and they just they mingle, they interact,
and you know, we've been in this community for still
long yet you know, we hopefully get Jim Breached there,
the all time leading scorer. He's coaching over at Lakota East.

(06:47):
Hopefully his practice will be over and he'll be there.
But you know it's guys like that. You know, hopefully
Dave Lapham his responsibilities of course, you know with the
Bengals in the Barada, hopefully that will allow him to come.
He's always great. But the guys just mingle. I mean
the passing they had Barney Busty and Robert Jackson and
they just come and you know, they love interacting and

(07:07):
you know, messing with the fans and just being part
of it. And that's what's so much fun about it.
It's not you know, we don't have a roped off
VIP section where you know, we don't have the signs.
You know, don't feed the animals. You know, stay away
because no, I'm just messing with you. But you know,
we don't have that. It's like, you know, we have
a bay. I get a bay with the guys can

(07:29):
hang out, grab some of that good food that you mentioned.
They're tough golf and they hit a few balls and
you know people they can go walk up and down
the bay and say hi to people and auction items
they you know, we'd have some mumblievable auction items in
the past and we'll continue to do that for the
benefit for those that pay that one thousand dollars to come,
you know, donate to the foundation, but then you have

(07:51):
a chance to you know, win some raffles and some
pretty good prizes there.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Yeah, you can learn more about the event at Munno's
Foundation dot org. It's going to be at Top Golf,
the Top Golf Tailgate Thursday, September fourth. It is an
absolute blast. The NFL game that night's going to be on.
The food is terrific and if you're a huge golfer,
you'll love Top Golf.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
And if you're not that into golf, you're still gonna
love Top Golf.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
And we are looking forward to broadcasting from there, you
and I. One of my favorite things is you start
the show with me at three o'clock that afternoon, and
so we'll have a chance to talk in greater detail
about the season and all things Bengals. But they've played
a couple of preseason games. Here's what I could tell you. Okay, Anthony,

(08:36):
the Joe Burrow guy is playing good. I'm not sure
if the defense can stop anybody.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Your thoughts, Oh, well, this number nine guy that I
believe should have won the MVP last year even though
we didn't make the playoffs. In that trip, I tell people,
not just because I've played with the Bengals and he's
a Bengal player, but if I started a franchising you
got Josh Allen, my Homes and Jalen Hurst and Herbert
you name them. I would start my franchise with Joe

(09:03):
Burrow and then my next guy, I would get the
best left guard and the best left tackle that are
playing the g But uh, you know what, You're right,
Let's just let's go thirteen and four and let's score
sixty points a game and forget about what the other game. No,
I think, I think, well, you know, and you know

(09:23):
this Tinsley hid I'll tell you what. We just had
it our arsenal, you know, with Chase and Higgins and
you know Josevich and now we got this Timsley who
catches everything in this radius. But yeah, you're right, and
I'm sure a lot of concerns still with the defense.
You know, I'm really impressed with Knight and Barnett, the
two linebackers we drafted. But you know, for me, it's

(09:44):
time for these defensive vans. You know, Miles number one
from last year, Shamar number one this year. Those guys,
I mean, they got to get rolling. I mean they're not.
They're number one pick for a reason, and that's to
come in and to be productive. And you know, Miles
has had a couple of years now. But uh, you know,
I hope. I'm not sure what's going to happen with Trade.
You know, we need his pass rushing skills. But we

(10:04):
still which we haven't really done in pre season. I'm
sure a lot of people are worried. You know, four
runs and you know, two touchdowns, you know in the
Monday night game and you know it's like, oh my goodness,
series go again. But pretty optimistic even though thing with
Al Goldin, I think when you know, when when it's
time to play live go up to Cleveland. I think

(10:27):
what he does defensively, I think, you know, Flap will
be in the starter. He's going to bring some pretty
good things for him. And uh, you know, so I'm
not crazy crazy about our defense right now, but I
think we can, we can come along. And you know,
but I'm saying those young guys, you know, it's not
like you know, sit there and learn for a year
or two. They've got to produce. And to me, that's

(10:47):
why you've drafted number one, to come in and to
be and show that you're deserving of that number one pick.
And we have a couple of those guys on the
defensive line that you know, they got to come in
and let their play do the talking. They'll say. You know,
I learned when I was seven years old. My older
brother told me, he said, anthy, you never should ever
talk about how good you are. If you're good enough,

(11:10):
people are going to talk about and a little that
I know, I was learning humility. And I've carried that
from the age of seven and I just turned sixty
seven yesterday, and for sixty years that sticks with me
in sports, business, non for profit and in life. If
you good enough, people talk about it. So just go
out and prove that you're worthy of that number one

(11:30):
draft pick. And you know, again, I'm excited about what
we what we drafted on that defensive side. So I
think fair Child at the left guard, well, he is
a rookie and you'll eventually be pretty good. And hopefully
you know Lucas Patrick consilling of that right, and we
need those two small tackles need to get a little bigger.
And I'll tell you what, I haven't felt like a

(11:55):
kids stand in the mixt to somebody in a long time.
And I was at camp standing in between Orlando and
mem and I'm like, oh my god. I told the
more that said Dad when they left, that said when
I grow up, I want to be like those two guys.
I was like, totally smoked.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Remarkable.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Give me a gim me an assessment, because I I
think Dylan Fairchild has has been fine. He'll have growing pains,
but I think there's a lot to like there. Uh,
you're more qualified, needless to say, to talk about offensive
line player than I am.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
What have you seen from Dylan Fairchild?

Speaker 1 (12:32):
You know what strong all football? You know, I think
the false anytime I see an offensive lineman come to
the NFL from Georgia, I know they're going to be
just physical, strong, tough and well topped. And from what
I see, Uh, we have a very technical, sound offensive

(12:53):
line coaching Scott Peters, and he's taken a guy that
has been very good. I think. I think his progression,
I think he's that be elevated again a rookie. We
all go through it. Man, I was a third pick
in the draft in those days as a rookie that
I said, Lord help me, is this is this gonna
get better? Uh? And it gets better if because you

(13:13):
have the desire, you have the just determination to be
the best. And that's what I see in this kid.
I mean there's there's no lack of strength, there's no
lack of size, and you look at him and he
looks like a football player. I'm so good about this kid.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Yeah, no question about that. I think everybody would agree.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
We'll talk in greater detail, you and I together Thursday,
September the fourth. It's the top golf tailgate benefiting the
Munos Foundation.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
You can reserve a bay.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
You can also sponsor a bay at Munyos Foundation dot org.

Speaker 4 (13:46):
Again.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
That is the night of the NFL Opener Thursday, September
the fourth at the Top Golf in Westchester. It is
an awesome event benefiting an awesome foundation, and Anthony Munho's
also awesome.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
And can't wait to see you in two weeks. We'll
see you then, man, Thanks so much.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Well, always a pleasure, Thanks buddy, look forward to seeing
your man.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
Can't wait here you can know too.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
That's the great Anthony Munhos again Munhos Foundation dot org.
We're biased because we get a chance to broadcast from
that event every year, and it's it's awesome to share
a stage with Anthony Munhos.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
It's great to have him on the phone.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
But there are there's a handful of times in the
course of doing this for a living, you know, Cincinnati
sports fan, where you're like.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
Holy, holy heck, this is cool, man, And.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
When you're sitting on stage sharing a microphone so to
speak with Anthony Munhos, perhaps the greatest offensive lineman ever,
without question, the greatest Cincinnati Bengal ever. That in itself
is cool, but the event itself is so good, so
well run.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
All of the.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Former Bengals that show up are so accessible. They don't
cording them off. They're not at arm's length. The food
is good. The I mean it's that is you get
a chance to see a lot of charity events when
you do this. That's that might be at the very
top of the list in terms of how it's run.
And with the folks with Anthony's Foundation, the work that

(15:17):
they do, it speaks for itself. So I cannot encourage
you enough. By the way, there's also a ticket there,
and I should have asked Anthony about this. If golf
isn't really your thing, but you want to come out
and get something to drink and have something to eat
and just you know, meet a handful of former Bengals,
there is a ticket that will get you everything but
the golf, but obviously bays are available. Go to Munos

(15:38):
Foundation dot org. That's Munno's Foundation dot org. Twenty minutes
after four o'clock ESPN fifteen thirty, Anthony, like all of
our guests, joining us on the Ray Saint Clair Roofing Hotline.
That's what Tony Pike will be on coming up in
just about twenty five minutes. We'll discuss the pursuit of
Dalton Reisner, plus Brennanman and Jones. On baseball, I've got
a Matt McClain. What if we've got to spend a

(15:59):
few minutes on Gisel james departure from the UC basketball
program and a Bengals off season that has felt very
much on brand. We'll get to that when we come
back on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Station Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty To traffic.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
From the UC Health Traffic Center. Nearly sixty percent of
Americans waiting on an organ transplant are from multicultural communities.
Give the Gift of life, become an organ donor, or
explore living donation at UCHealth dot com. Slash transplant southbound
seventy five after Shepherd Laney Center Lane is blocked off

(16:37):
from an accident. New crash in on Glendale Milford Road,
over at Chester and on Plainfield Road. Another accident north
of Hunt Road. I'm at Ezelac with traffic
